0100hrs: Woke up feeling a lot better than I did last night. Far more with-it, mentally.

Got the Health Checks done.

4Thu001

4Thu07aThe sphygmomanometer worked second try.

The Sys reading was down a fair bit, at last.

I could sense the bubbling and rumbling coming from the tummy. So, I took a Dia-Limit capsule with the morning medication doses.

I was slowly feeling more active of mind, although the body wasn’t too keen. Hehe!

W167.4.217 On to the computer. Despite the best efforts of the Liberty-Global Media Virgin Internet in slowing things down. So, I got the photos on the camera card sorted and ready to use.

4Thu09

The Porcelain Throne beckoned, and off to the wet room. The evacuation was the best in ages, far less liquified this time.

W167.4.217 I spotted a few of the Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles on the floor. A few of the larger ones today, they were alive, the babies were all dead. So I decided to go into a Boll-Weevil Attack Mode, in all rooms!

One of the giant weevils from the spare room seemed to look irradiated in the photograph? It looks like they are bringing on the Brownshirts and Panzers to back up the infantry now? They are definitely changing tactics. Hehehe!

3Wed29Back to the computer, and I found this rather decent photographicalisation from yesterday. I can’t remember taking it, though.

Obviously shot from the spare room window. The only one without the plastic sheeting on the outside of the frame.

Updated the Wednesday post. Gawd, it was a horrible day for me that was. I don’t think I’m fully Compos Mentis, lucid, balanced, mentally sound or rational yet, but I’m improving as the day goes on. I hope!

Tim Price, from New Mexico, suggested in a comment that the problem might be due to the Rentokil and Raid bug killer sprays overspill I’m using to counter the invading Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles. He could be right, you know, I’d not thought of that.

I looked for a guide to the local weather. I found these indications of the storm coming!

4Thu06

4Thu11

Well, that cheered me up no end! Hehehe!

I made a start on this diary, then went to make a mug of tea. Found the hot water was not hot, but cold. Perplexed for a second or two, then shot into panic mode! Had I left the hot water tap running the WC? Argh!

W167.4.217 Yes, I had! What an Eizel! It could have been worse, mind. I may have left it running to ages, but it was not turned on fully, and the sink did not overflow. Phew!

Got the ablutionalisationing tended to, to be ready for the Iceland delivery and then the Tenants Social Hour.

I opened the curtains to the balcony window to check for any  Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles because I forgot to check there earlierSept 20 2018d

There were just five in the skirting board.

One if them a lively-live one that took some catching.

But I got him in the end.

I could see it had been raining outside. But, the wind was not high at the moment – the lull-before-the-storm, literally, methinks?

4Thu12

I made up a Morrison Order for next week while I waited for the Iceland man to arrive.

Getting a bit late now, still not arrived. Aha, he’s here.

The reading glassed arms were coming loose, so I put them in their box to take to the optician to have a look at them for me later.

Got the stuff put away in a rush. Took black bags to the chute on the way down, and carried a big bag of recyclable waste to the caretakers’ doorway as I left the building.

4Thu13Along Chestnut Walk to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Unterscharführeress Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, shed.

About twenty Winwoodhamians’ were in the hut. Jenny was in good form. Being late getting out, I’d missed the raffle. I took the nibble box round. Then gave Jenny the box of cakes I intended as a raffle prize, to use on her Saturday Social. I donated the three Toberlone chocolate sucker to different tenants. Handed out the Tennessee Whiskey Cola to Margaret and the Werther’s sweeties to Cyndy. I had a chinwag with a few of the residents, and a laugh of course, which I enjoyed. I think this helped me to feel better after yesterdays ‘Blank Spell’.

4Thu13aaI set off on a walk down Winchester Street, to Mansfield Road.

A few spots of rain fell, but nothing worth making me get out the umbrella.

I got onto Mansfield Road and trudged up the hill to the Wilko store. I’d hoped to find some Co-codamol tablets, but they had none on display. I wanted to try them and cut back on the Codeine Phosphates a little, cause I think they make me feel tired more? They did have some Mr Muscle Grime cleaner on sale from £3.50 down to £2, so I bought one. Also, some Dia-Limit capsules, Rentakill Flea Killer and Raid Cockroach spray. With tonight and the weekend weather warnings, I thought it best to get them now, in case I become Flat-bound with the forecasted storm (Wind and Rain) being likely to arrive.

The owner of the Spectacle shop soon sorted me out with a half-smile, that hid what he really thought. Which was “There is nothing wrong with these, but I’ll toy with them and keep the idiot happy!” Oh, yes, it can be a curse, my having a high EQ level. As much as it is, my having a Low IQ level. I thanked them for their help, and set off to the bus stop at the top of the hill, to catch an L9 bus back up the hill to the apartments and home.

4Thu14I got in the shelter away from the drizzle, which did not last long.

Some resident who I had chatted to before arrived to join me. They are from the Winchester Court block.

And a jolly pleasant laugh and a joking session or two were enjoyed. By me, anyway.

Gave shared farewells as we got off of the bus. I had a brief natter with some tenants who were getting on to the bus, and legged it down Chestnut Way, and caught up with Paul. Not very often this happens.

4Thu15A Willmott-Dixon lad, known as In-Charge Ian, locally, was guiding a plant vehicle out of the Extra-Care compound.

Petulant Paul was driving the multi-purpose plant vehicle. Hydraulic, lift, pusherer, crane, high rise reacher and Pensioner Liquidator. Or was it Petulant Paul who was multi-purpose? Haha!

They shouted something to me as I moved on, but I could not tell what it was they said. Possibly, Piss-off, or something like that. Hehehe! Only joking here you know.

4Thu16W167.4.217 I got in the flat, took the bag into the kitchen, and was surprised to see so many Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles all over the floor.

I gathered them up, about 50/50 twist those dead and the others that were alive.

I sprayed the area with the ‘Raid’ Killer Spray again. These Weevils are taking the mickey out of me now!

I got the oven warming up, ready to use for the spare ribs cooking, later.

Did the Health Checks, imbibed the medications and made a brew.

I wondered if the storm when it arrives, will affect the wonderful Liberty-Global Media Virgin Internet? According to the forecast, the wind and rain will start in earnest tonight.

Onto the computer, and updated this blog.

4Thu25Nosh finished cooling and served up.

Pork ribs with smoked bacon and seasoned baked beans.

At last! A decent tasting meal, after so many disasters of late. A worthy 9.35/10 Flavour Rating for this one.

Last Health Checks and medications sorted.

Determines to stay awake to watch the TV. My favourite programmes were all on, one after another.

Two back to back episodes of the ‘A-Team’, then ‘Heartbeat’ followed by Hustle and a documentary on Grenfell. I was all set to have an idle-time viewing,

W167.4.217 I didn’t even get through the first episode of the A-Team before the nodding offs began. Humph! During my self-imposed ten sessions of staying awake during Hustle, I think it was, I drifted off proper-like.

Evening all! Hehe!

  1. Ali Armageddon is on the way. Your EBWIBBBs might be turning into Beetlezillas. They might be morphing that RAID into a fiery beetle breath that they will breathe your way. That’s good the socialization session in the insult Inchcock area went well. That’s one hearty looking meal.
