Swahili: Jumapili Tarehe 16 Desemba 2018

01:05hrs. WD0.51.102 Noctuary Report: The most unconventional and unique last seven hours, were spend nodding-off, dreaming, ‘waking, nodding-off, dreaming, waking, nodding-off, dreaming, waking’… solidly. It felt like I’d woken up dozens of times and fell back to sleep after thinking on the totally different dream I’d had each time. No SSWWs or Porcelain Throne interruptions whatsoever! No rest either! I woke up feeling tired and drained, with the brain reluctant to address any problems for a while.

I encouraged my heavy, short, rotund, burdensome body, with its stomach of massiveness and wobbliness out of the £300 second-hand recliner, and off to the Porcelain Throne room. Excellent session again, no leaking, bleeding or liquidificationalising.

I think I still needed sleep for I felt heavy eye-lidded, but thank heavens there were no signs of Dizzy Dennis or Shaking Shaun this morning.

The grey-cells had activated now.

Made a brew of tea and tended to the Health Checks.

7Sun03The sphygmomanometer operated the first try this morning.

The results looked far better, too… apart of course from the weight. Tsk!

Had an SSWW (Short-sharp-Wee-Wee), and drank up the tea from the China mug. Does anyone else think that tea tastes far better from a China mug or cup, or is it just me? And took the medications. The ailments were still in a good mood with me. Just the puddled and muddled brain to contend with. Haha!

WD0.51.102 I got the computer on, and guess what…

7Sun05

I struggled through getting the Saturday diary finished and posted.

Off to the Porcelain Throne for a second visit. Another good session!

I had a look in the fridge at the mass of options for today’s meal. I decided on the ready-made Lamb Moussaka. I want to add some extra minced lamb that I bought from Morrison’s.

At the Social Hour on Thursday, I asked Jenny how long to cook minced-lamb in the hot-pot for making my own shepherds pie, and she told me five hours should do it. But today if I remember, I want to try to some a little done in the crockpot of the mince, to make sure I can get it right, with the lamb seasoning. Then I will more be confident when I try my first efforts at home-made Shepherds pit later. Then have it today with the Moussaka. I need to get the slow-cooker going with the lamb in about five hours I reckon. I’ve set the alarm to remind me, but will I hear it, or remember why I set it in the first place? It’s not really funny, but even I have to laugh at myself! Hahaha!

That’s the plan anyway. You must understand, as Champions go, I am possibly the best person in the whole of the East Midlands for assuring failed, gone awry, goofed, misjudged, blundered, screwed-up, malfunctioning, and gone-to-the-dogs plans. The Victor Ludorum! Hehehe!

I got side-tracked there a bit again, lost my bearings, as if to say, sorry.

7Sun01Spotted this view through the unwanted more glass to clean, light and view-blocking new windows in the kitchen.

I zoomed in to take the picture. I took photos in four different options, but this one was the best I could manage. Sulk-Mode Engaged!

It looks like a nativity scene don’t you think? Of course, no one in the original would have an oak tree smattered with 240v AC electrically powered pretty bulbs.

Started to create this blog next.

7Sun10I remembered to put the minced lamb in the crock-pot. Although a little later than planned, due to my not hearing the timer alarm, or I had not set it right. Mmm?

I added some lamb gravy mix to the water. I did know whether to mix the granules in boiling water or cold? I meant to ask Jenny, but forgot to, on Thursday. Klutz!

So, I mixed it in cold water and agitated it as much as I could first, then poured it over the mince in the slow-cooker.

Went on CorelDraw to make a few graphics page headers in advance. I can’t believe it, but I got only one done up to now, and that took me over three hours! I could do with some Time & Whatsit training, here. Hehe!

WD0.51.102 7Sun11Foolishly, as I checked the lamb mince, I quickly gave it a stir with the wooden spatula and caught it against my hand as I go the lid back on. It was scorching hot and made me jump a bit.

I had some antiseptic cream nearby, and put some on straight away. The cream bubbled and disappeared from the skin! I ran the cold tap over the bottom of the thumb for a while and reapplied the Germolene. What a nebbish!

7Sun07aNext task, was to get the weeks medical dosage pots refilled.

Which went well for once. No mix-ups with the contents and pot, no dropping of the pods or medications. I adopted the Smug-Mode. Haha!

Back on to CorelDraw and made up some page top graphics.

Drained, I went to check on the meal. It was looking okay. I got the ready meal out of the oven and into a shallow dish, added the slow-cooked lamb mince (You can tell the difference by the different colouring), and put halved mini-tomatoes on top. I had some sourdough bread with the nosh. Flavour rating of 8.9/10, very tasty!

7Sun14

Later, after trying to get to sleep and failing, I went into the kitchen to investigate what I thought was odd noises, of a clunking, thudding nature. I found no cause for the sounds but did see these seagulls circling around the flats. By the time I’d fetched the camera, they had started to settle on the bottom field.

7Sun12

At one time, I thought they were going to make a Euro sign as they landed.

Again, the nodding-offs were varying between two minutes and ten-minutes and lasted for hours.

At last, I drifted off properly… Nice!

  1. I love shepherd’s pie. It’s recommended for a dish that is high in absorbable iron with meat, potatoes and vegetables. It looks like you made short work of it. You nativity scene photo looks like you’re probably right. In those dark conditions it’s very difficult to get a clear shot. I like your birds making the sign of the Euro.

    • Thanks. Morning, Tim.
I hope to get the Shepherds this week, now I know that the lamb mince will only need four hours in the crock pot to be cooked through. But with the blood test being made for such a riduculous time for me, 1140hrs! I shall not have the time to do it on Tuesday. Today I’m off to the audio clinic. So, it looks like Wednesday.
I took no end of shots of the nativity effort, but this one was the only one partially any good. I tried using different settings as well, to no avail. But I’m used to things being of no avail! Haha!
If I can get things sorting early enough tosay, I might have walk into town to the clinic and get some shots of the route taken. Then again…
      Cheers, Sir.
