WD 176.0.93 02:30hrs. I woke so slowly it was hard to believe it was happening. The mind’s initial refusal to accept the very thought of waking-up, the clinomania, was stubborn. Thinking the brain was about to go into one of its uhtceare-moments, I had to adopt agrypnotic ideas to encourage and convince myself of the need to get out of the £300, second-hand, gungy-beige, c1968, sometimes-working, rickety recliner. I tried convincing myself that, “I have to get ready to go to the Doctor’s about the shortage of Beta-blockers” and “Ask about the mislaid, never to be seen Cancer Sample envelope again!”, and was answered with a distant, but not very committed, “Sod-you!” from within the grey-cells! As luck would have it, the rather sudden and urgent need for a wee-wee, forced my brain and body to engage reluctantly.

I hauled myself out of the rickety-rusty recliner, got the stick and caught my balance, winced at the pain from the feet, and took the few paces to the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket), only to find it was almost full to the brim. Very carefully, I took it to the WC and emptied and sanitised, cleaned and disinfected the bucket, all hygienic for later use.

When the need arrived, conveniently timed for once, for the Porcelain Throne activities, I went through the final sample-taking routine and completed the pouch-card. I had a bit of a job cleaning up afterwards, as usual, the front end and rear end activated together.

1Mon01aWD 176.0.93 Finalising the sorting-out of the wet room, it happened again – I stubbed the dodgy toe on the WC seat-riser’s metal leg!

Amazingly, the pain was far less than usual, so things must be improving with the toe?

This brought on a degree of cerebricity, and I decided to sort out the medications, do the health checks, and make a brew of Glengettie tea. The test results were a little out of sync: Sia 89, Dia 62, Pulse 95, and the Temperature was okay at 34.9°c.

Then, I got the computer going, and made a start to this blog and here. Then updated the Sunday post, which I had almost forgotten to do. Klutz! The hand, arm, and finger dancing were not too bad this morning (But give it time, Tsk!).

Went to make another mug of tea and have an LSPDOWW (Long-Slow-Painfull-Drawn-out-Wee-wee). The bucket is getting filled up again. Humph!

I could1Mon07 see the Sherwood Health Centre from the unwanted new kitchen window. All lit up with the yellow lights in the car park. I was pretty pleased with the zoomed in shot of it I took with the Canon camera.

I checked on the Google Calendar for the upcoming appointment I have there, with the Podiatrist. I thought it was this Friday, but no, it’s for Friday 28th July, at 10:40hrs. By the time I get there, I dread to think what state the feet and toenail growth will be like. The pains from the tootsies and feet are growing worse every day. Sob!

I spotted the moon still out and hobbled to fetch the camera. By the time I had got back in the room, the clouds had covered it, shame. Then I took two shots of the view ahead, the second one from the balcony. I took extra care in opening the window metal spring release catch this time, no cuts, grazes or bruise acquired. Hehe!

1Mon07a

The pictures came out brighter than things really were to my eyes?

1Mon07cI carried on with blogging for a while, and I had to use the bucket several times, all for LSPDOWWs (Long-Slow-Painfull-Drawn-out-Wee-wees). I had to again take the bucket for emptying and sanitisationing.

Back to the kitchen for another mug of tea, and the sun was coming through from behind the flats, so I got the Canon in use again.

1Mon07dI notice that down in the shadows, below, in the Chestnut Way bushes near the footpath, some wood pigeons were seemingly airing themselves out.

I grabbed the camera and mounted the step ladder, but it was too dangerous a job for me. So I went on the balcony and photographed a well-zoomed-in shot of one of the birds. I had to take about eight photos before I got one that was not coming out too blurry. The hands and fingers were beginning to do their unintentional hokey-cokey dancing routines again. This problem stayed with me for a long time, and back on the computer, I got feeling a tad depresses at all the mistakes and corrections that were needed. Grump!

Time to tend to the ablutions. So, wearily I got to the wet room, and shuddered when I saw the seat-riser metal legs, and told myself not to stub the toe again! And I avoided it! Smug-Mode Adopted!

-The teggie-cleaning and shaving went well and blood-loss-less! Haha! Just as well, cause the INR level is on 6.0, which is twice as thin as the blood should be. So any cuts could prove bothersome. The Radio Nottingham gave out rain warnings for tomorrow, but I missed todays. But I don’t intend to go out until the long Bamboo-diabetic socks are delivered. I checked the delivery-tracker on the web, they have not been dispatched yet and will arrive sometime before 21:00hrs. So it looks like I’ve no choice but to stay in again. I was hoping for the best, and an early delivery, so I can get out to get some more pod-peas and call to tell the doctor about the beta-blocker shortage. I don’t hold out much hope, though! Being the accident-prone, accifauxpas-attracting, cataclysmic-cajoling person I am, I have little confidence, belief, or experience of good luck, Rather the expectancy of daily dubitationally c1Mon09ataclysmic exigencies. These don’t let me down, they are almost guaranteed!

I got the bath towel hand-washed, rinsed and on the stand-up airer.

Caught up with some updating on this blog, then went on CorelDraw to attempt to create some graphics for later use. Hopefully, I will have some success this time. A managed a few hours, and then the damned weariness and dizzies came on. I hate it when this happens.

The new socks were delivered early! Hurrah!

I accepted them, tinking they were very light in1Mon10 weight, and went tp the wet room, and utilised the sock-glide. Which, with the new socks being too long, was a bit of a battle. I ended up with some bruises, courtesy of the metal glide. Hehe! But I managed to get them on without drawing any blood this time.

Sexy eh? Hahaha!

I got myself all prepared for a hobble to Sherwood for some nosh I cannot get anywhere else. Many, Wilko liquid soapflakes, Exotic scented Ylang & Freesia softener and granules, fresh pod peas from the co-op and red lettuce, then sourdough bread from the Post Office shop. I expect I’ll return with other stuff, as well! Dressed and got the four-wheeled trolley-walker, and small shoulder bag with me.

1Mon12I set off, down Chestnut Way. Not being able to use the footpath, due to lighting repairs or cleaning, I limped up the roadway.

Calling in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Warden’s Temporary HQ. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationistical Meeting Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Where things like crockery and pottery get stolen from, Rumourmongering Clinic, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, Portakabin. A few folks in today, so I handed out some nibbles, had a little chinwag, and continued on my journey.

1Mon13As I turned down the Winchester Street hill, the brakes on the trolley were hardly capable of stopping the guide from running away.

When I stopped to photograph a bee in the bushes, I had to rest the trolley against the fencing, and lock on the brakes, to be on the safe side.

Not the best of pictures, but okay for me, with the hand-shaking, it was a fairish effort, taken with the left hand. (Not easy, but better than dancing digits of the right limb, Hehe!)

1Mon14I carried on down to Mansfield Road, and right up to the Co-op Store. The feet were particularly painful again. I hope I can manage until a week on Friday, when the poor feet and toes will get a check-over, after waiting to fifteen weeks or so, it’s probably longer. Grumph! Niggle!

I came out embarrassed with the Ylang granules, spray and softener. But also with shaving foam and Duracell batteries, cost in total £27.50, the batteries cost £13.50 for twelve of them, that was an offer price, the ticket said.

After paying the young lady, she saw I was struggling to get my things into the bag, and I was d1Mon15ropping stuff, thanks to the finger and hand dancing that had just come on from nowhere, and she helped me, bless her. Much to the annoyance of those in the queue behind me. Oh, dearie me!

As I exited the shop, the clouds in the sky looked threatening. I fudged and fumbled about trying to get the umbrella from the shoulder bag.

1Mon16Seconds later, the sky was all bright again? Beats me why?

I crossed the pelican lights and went into the Post Office shop in search of some Polish sliced sourdough bread. They had some on the shelves, but it felt old and a little too hard, so I exited the premises and back out over the crossing back to the other side of the road, and had a nosey in the charity shop.

1Mon17As I was going into the shop up the dodgy steps, I took this photograph I found on the SD card, but do not have much idea why? Ah, I see her now! Ahem!

Nothing of interest in the charity shop. But there was another serious-looking, catalogue holding member of the famous Nottinghamian ‘Anything-to-make-a-profit-from brigade, to watch! I love identifying them! All the usual 1Mon18recognition signs were there; Consulting a book while perusing the China ornaments, keeping his back to the assistants, and wearing a shifty look on his face! Haha! I departed and walked up Mansfield Road and called in the Card Shop for a nosey. I did make some purchases in this shop, however. A grand total £2.88, blow the expense! Some Thank You cards and a little plaque for sister Jane, but don’t tell her, will you?

1Mon19After a nose in A.C. Allan, my optician’s window (well, he has some gorgeous looking young assistants working there! Haha!), I moved on.

I took a photograph of the main road. The little dog having a walk was giving it some verbals, which attracted me in the first place. Bless her 1Mon20or him.

As I was trying to take a one-left-handed picture from just before the bus shelter, this turd, git, swine and ignorant young male pavement cyclist almost clouted into me on his freewheeling belt down the Mansfield Road footpath.

Luckily on this occasion, there were not many pedestrians about, he probably only had me to intimidate and bully?

1Mon21As I got to the L9 and others bus stop, I took a seat, (A rare happening for me!) to ease the pain from the suffering plates and tootsies, that were getting worse than ever, pain-wise. I spotted a pig-ignorant, uncaring, slob of a Herbert on the other side of Mansfield Road, making his way up the hill, nonchalantly on the Pedestrian Footpath. I tried to take a snap of him, but this is the result (Left). A car’s untimely appearance. Hehe!

However, I did manage to get a picture of the mis1Mon22erable excuse for a law-abiding imbecilic moron, a little further up the pedestrian’s pavement! Shame, he hasn’t got a job to go to. Mind you the oink, might be a night worker? No horn or bell, or lights on his mountain bike! He ought to steal one with them on next time. Still, he’s got a chain-lock on it.

Me bothered? Hehehe!

1Mon23As the time got close to the bus is due, there was still no signs of any of my fellow oldies, not that many of them are old nowadays, with the minimum age going down to 50 for applicant residents…

Where was I? Oh, yes, I got up and took this last photo of the day, of Sherwood, from the bus stop. The bus arrived, and I was soon back home, dropping off the bus. Penny from the 13th floor kindly slowed down to my rate of knots, and we had a jolly-good chinwag on the hobble back to flats. Thanks, Penny.

I was home, beyond my usual kipping down-time. And so tired, and even more in pain than average. Haha!

I set to and got the meal cooking, and put the buys away.

1Mon24Too tired to even think of doing any updating to this diary.

What a grand nosh, though! Red lettuce, tomatoes, fresh garden peas, frankfurters and some of the most beautiful tasting cheesy potatoes I’ve ever managed to make!

I couldn’t eat it all, but a flavour rating of 9.25/10 was well deserved!

1Mon25I washed the pots, stripped and got settled to watch some DVD from Keeping Up Appearances, with Hyacinth and Richard.

Kept nodding off and waking, as usual. Then I realised that I had still got on the diabetic bamboo socks. What used two be a two-minute job of removing them, took considerably longer, and caused pain, anguish, a bruise and some pretty naughty language was used! When I first got them on this morning, they felt wonderfully comfortable. As the hobble continued on my walk, the souls of the feet and the toes were indeed no longer in any comfort! But I hold back from blaming these expensive socks, yet. The leg pains were relieved a lot. I think the waiting so for the podiatrist, without anyone willing to cut the toes for me, caused the failure of these socks today. The bottom of the socks are thicker than the rest, and may have caught on the extra-long bent, twisted nails, causing te extra discomfort?

Even so early, I nodded of proper. I think Jane might have telephoned me, or I dreamt she did? Huh!, What a plonker I am!

  1. Yessiree Bob! Your legs are looking quite sexy in those new socks. You got a lot of good street photos out of your three hour hobble. That’s a large and good looking meal.

    • Hi, Sir.
Something about black stockings comes to mind, and the distant associated pat pleasures. Hehehe!
