Inchcock Today Mon 2 Nov 15: Hospitalistic activities today

01topj0101aMonday 2nd November 2015

Didn’t wake until 0620hrs! What a kip that was – must have needed it?

WC’d – Little Inchy had not been bleeding so much. Angina still bothersome, but other ailments seemed content with not bothering me… yet. Hehe!

Put the hooks on the kitchen board edge and hung me oven glove and tea towel on it – this will probably be me sole effort at sorting today.

Got the GP for me Warfarin INR blood level test – then meeting Pete to go with him to the hospital and keep his pecker up – he don’t like em, hospitals yer know. Then the clinic to attend. Usually after they have been examining poking prodding and playing with ‘Little Inchy’ the P1020344soreness, pain and embarrassment cause me to want only sleep after treatment, certainly not any exercise or physical effort of the slightest degree! Humph!

Took a photo of the kitchen as it is now. Signs of organisation coming on nicely methinks. I’ve decided to keep the 3-tier wheeled trolley for use as and when needed?

Did some Facebooking and checked the emails.

Set out in the fog, well heavy mist and walked down Winchester Street – where I realised I had not got me hearing aids in Whoopsie1 – left them soaking in the pot on the side of the sink – Again, Tsk! along Mansfield Road to into Carrington and the 04hGP surgery just in time.

The nurse, a nice and jolly good girl had to come right up to me and touch me on the shoulder as I couldn’t hear her calling me name – it cheered me up just seeing her patient smile.

She even let me photograph her as she prepared to take e blood test, bless her. Had a natter while she was dealing with me. (Nice!)

I was soon out in the dank misty weather again. It was done so quickly I had time to have a walk back into Sherwood, wait for a bus up to the flats and collect me hearing aids.

Had a nice natter with two other residents of the flats while waiting.

Up to the flat and put me hearing-aids in, made a cuppa and WC’d.

Then back down and out to catch the bus into town to catch the bus out to the QMC Treatment Centre and meet Pete.

Another nice natter on the bus with another resident – he was telling me about how nice the newly modernised Flats were at Sneinton Dale and we were to get a similar upgrade, next on the list so to speak – but it would me a year or so at the earliest.

Caught the bus from town, and walked around the QMC compound to the Treatment Centre at the back. The mist was clearing and the sunshine tried to get through.

Pete outside the Treatment Centre

Got missen settled with me crossword book and waited Pete’s arrival, which was in ten minutes or so.

He was soon called in and was out in 15 minutes or so.

He still ha to go back for checks in 3 months, and they had found two new 01topj9cpossible spots of skin cancer on his face.

I took a photo of the suspect spots on Pete’s face.

I assumed these spots and those on his back that had been treated were created over the years that Pete was brick-laying and showing off his body to the local female population of wherever he was working. Hehe!

04h01We travelled back into Nottingham (Oh that free pensioners bus-pass is Sooo appreciated) and I left Pete at his bus stop outside the Train Station, and walked into town to catch a bus to the Clinic.

It was a bit dank now. They were starting to build the Christmas stalls on the Slab-Square. A sole Ice-cream van with the man inside leant up against his ie-cream maker dozing was a sad sight.

Whoopsie2 Made a right clot of missen here – the appointment was for tomorrow not today! Still, when I told the chap on the reception about the problems I was having, he told me to take a seat and he’s try tp get someone to have a look.

It was getting late and I felt bad bothering them as time shot by and it must have been close to their finishing time. But this did mean that when I did get to see someone they didn’t mess about like usual, and i was soon laid out on me back having Little Inchy probed and prodded by two, yes Two medical personnel! both embarrassingly looking at me privates through the electric lighted giant magnifying glass! No Clotrimazole, Daktacort or Betamethasone creams given me to use this time (Which I was hoping for), after they had a natter and consulted another person, they gave me an injection near me Little Inchy’s tackle.

Told me if the bleeding and or stinging pains have not eased or gone within 48 hours, I was to make an appointment using the code they had written down for me ASAP. They would send me a return appointment tomorrow for about five/seven days time.

At that one of them escorted me to the exit as everyone else had gone home already and the scary miserable sod on the reception had, had to wait for me before he could lock-up. Oh dear… at least they treated me, they could have said come back tomorrow couldn’t they?

Dark now, as I painfully sat down on the bus to go back to Sherwood. Felt a bit light-headed. Checked I’d got the code in e pocket. Of course no buses running up to the flats this time of night, so had a walk through the park up to the flats, being careful on the wet leaves.

Straight to the WC ad made good use of the porcelain. (Phwer!)

Made a cuppa. No desire for food much, so had a pot noodle with black bean sauce.

Not feeling too good. Sat down and stayed there until I nodded off and on all night.

Inchcock today Mon 12 Oct 15: INR tests, Laundry, sorting… busy again!

01topj5Monday 12th October 2015

Up at 0425hrs, WC made a cuppa, took medications – and realised that I’d taken me morning medications last night in error for the night medications – not sure what to do then. So I took just one Warfarin, one Simvastin and one dose of liquid ant-acid dollop.

I can ask the nurse later at me INR Warfarin level blood test if I’ve done right or wrong.

Got the washing ready and went down to the laundry room – but the machines were not working? Gave up and decided to struggle to carry the bag of togs with me to the GP and call at the launderette in Carrington and get it done there. Tsk!

Many WC visits later, I got the laptop on and finished off yesterdays diary putting about 12 photographs on it from yesterdays outing to Papplewick for the 1940’s show.

Little Inchy bleeding badly, haemorrhoids bleeding a bit.

Did some Facebooking.

Got missen washed and ready for me walk to the surgery. Took some nibbles and letters to drop off at the Windwood Community shed, if it’s open.

IMG_0004The plan to call at the shed failed, cause i met some residents at the bus-stop and had a natter with them, then caught the bus into Sherwood, and walked into Carrington.

The traffic was busy for so late in the day.

Plodded on to the surgery and booked myself in with the receptionist.

Did some cross-wording until I was called in by the surgery nurse. Lovely woman, I explained about me missing my dose and getting it wrong in taking my morning instead of night dose. she said always leave it if I miss a dose, in the event of y taking the wrong dose I should inform them. So I informed them. Gave her the nibbles for the staff.

Left and struggled down to the launderette with me bags.

IMG_0006On the way down a lady pavement cyclist was coasting at speed down the incline belting passed me, by the tie I’d put me bags down to get me camera out she was long gone in the distance – but I watched her as she went passed the florists shop grabbing a bunch of flowers out of one of those on display outside the shop and carried on into the distance without a care!

Into the paper shop to get lottery tickets – in a desperate foolish pathetic attempt to become popular, well liked and desired by the opposite sex. Sure as hell the only way that will happen is if I win a dirty-great big multimillion vast fortune? Hehe!

Into the launderette to be greeted by Wilhelmina, gave her some nibbles and got the machine going, then nipped into Lidl. Got two cheese cobs, pork pie and two lemon yoghurt pots.

Back to the launderette and swapped me clothes into the drier and set about me crossword book again.

Said me cheerios to Wilhelmina and struggled with me now three bags to the bus stop.

Dropped off at the City Hospital and into the GUM Clinic – I was out again in five minutes having been informed by the nice Obergruppenfurher on reception that my appointment is for next Monday… I did feel a fool!

Out and onto the bus back to Sherwood, where I met a few of the Woodthorpe Court resident inmates at the bus stop. I loved it when we had a natter and I listened to the banter between them – I thought to myself this is great seeing these old folk full of wit and humour poddling along and so content sounding… then of course I realised – I was one of them! Hehe!

Even the bus driver when she came, was cheerful and gossipy with us all.

For a moment life seemed good.

Got back to the flats and humped the bags up to the flat, while wondering if i’d make it to the porcelain in time… just, I mean just in time I made it. Unfortunately ‘Little Inchy’ was bleeding again – so spent yonks getting him to stop.

Then realised I should have asked at the GUM clinic for some more of the Betamethasone corticosteroid cream! Huh & Tsk!

I moved gingerly into the kitchen: Hello I thought, more meat flies lurking around the window again! Gawd they were fat ones again, when I got some with me paper towels they burst and the blood from them squirted out for feet not inches all over the place! I still reckon that someone in one of the adjacent flats might have snuffed it and no one knows, and the flies are having a feast? There are so many holes in the walls that must surely link with other flats that they are travelling between flats perhaps? I’ve noticed that usually these fat flies appear in the afternoon, there are usually between 4 to 10 of them… at least its a comfort to know that should I flake out 01topj4in the flat, the relatives of all those fat flies I’ve killed an get revenge and suck up me blood… mind you, with all the medications in me blood, mutant flies might develop with bald heads? Hehehe!

This scenario tickled me so much, I made a graphic of it.

P1020227Put me washing in the airing cupboard and resorted it.

Then put the food away, kettle on, then back to the porcelain.

Laptop on and did some Facebooking, checked emails.

IMG_0007Utter weariness dawned suddenly and I got me nosh before I nodded off.

Too tired to bother cooking I had this little ad-hock concoction.

Pickled egg, beetroot, cheesy cobs, pork pie, apple, a banana and a tomato that was so bitter i couldn’t eat it, come think of it I reckon I only ate the apple, banana cobs and beetroot.

Didn’t enjoy it at all rated it 3/10, but I was so tired and drained suddenly.

Spent hours drifting off to kip for a few minutes then waking again. It was most disconcerting and annoying, y body demanded sleep and rest, but me mind wasn’t so keen on it?

Tomorrow the Asda and Wilko deliveries are due. But I anticipate problems with the Wilko one as they tell me it will be up to the delivery person if the go up the lifts or not!

Maybe that worry is what is keeping me annoyingly awake?

Inchcock Today – Mon 28 Sept 15: Hectic!

Monday 28th September 2015

Woke around 0500hrs and lay a moment or two thinking of what I have to do today: Take rubbish to chute, bath shave, get the 0930 L9 bus into town – remember to take the laptop to give to Pete when I meet him in town, bus back to Carrington to the GP for me INR Warfarin blood level test and flu jab and ask for a prescription for some water tablets, back to town and then to the audio clinic to report me lost hearing-aid, then on the bus to the City Hospital GUM clinic… worra day in prospect I thought!

Then, having plenty of time I drifted off back to kip – a rarity that for me.

01topj1To the WC and somehow the memories of the dreams I’d had returned a bit, wrote them down to record here later… I was at a highland sports meeting – wanted to toss the caber but couldn’t lift – I seemed very upset that they would not let me throw me walking stick instead?… then recalled bits of me on a ferry trying to get to see my cyber-friend Lynton Cox in France – everything stopped me, I had no passport and insisted they let me into the country using me free pensioners bus-pass, they deported me back to the UK to Swansea? I was happy there and stayed joining the Torchwood team? They sacked me the next day when I passed wind and it killed an alien prisoner as I was feeding it a dog bone.

Done me porcelain duties then, emptying some bits from the rubbish bin to put in the bag to go to the chute and…

I Found Me Hearing Aid – Yipidee Super!

I felt sure I’d looked in there when I found I’d lost it yesterday? Over the moon now!

Cuppa medications taken, laptop on and started this diary off.

01topj3Got a wash and shave, changed and off with me bus-pass, bag, camera and list of jobs to do, to the bus stop outside the flats and listen to the chin-wags while waiting the arrival, of the L9 bus into town.

Nice morning.

I noticed close to a sign telling us that Nottingham was now Officially the 01topj4cleanest City in Britain – laid this pile of rubbish – just thought I’d mention it like.

Then I met Pete at his bus stop. Handed him his laptop drive and mouse. Wished him well with it and off he went to buy some nuts for his squirrels then back to his mansion to sort out his spy-camera wot I bought him early for Christmas like.

I poddled to the bus stop to catch a bus back into Carrington for me GP nurses appointment.

Asked for a prescription for Furozamide water tablets cause of me swelling legs.

Sat down and  got me crossword book out to tackle going through the ones I was stuck on to get as many answers as I could. I got one answer from the 80 or so that needed doing. Tsk!

The nurse called me in and gave me the flu jab and took me blood for Warfarin level testing. Then she booked me in for tomorrow morning 1010hrs to see Dr Vindla about me swelling legs. Then booked me in for a week on Tuesday 6th October for me net blood tests. She was not happy with me reflux valve sticking out like it was as she noticed and made a memo for the Dr on the computer.

I caught the bus to the City Hospital GUM clinic to collect me new ‘Natural based bio-polymer, topical calcium alginate cream’ (No I don’t know what it means either – Hehe) for ‘Little Inchy’ as instructed – it was all locked up? I supposed I’d got the day wrong again, I’ll check when I get back to the flat, if I remember?

Back on yet another bus into Sherwood. Damnably good job I’ve got me Pensioners free bus-pass innit!

01topj6Decided that as I’d done so well with me walking I’d walk back to the flat up through Woodthorpe Park, and down to the the flats.

I Noticed near the broken gate, they had put up another new poster informing us this ‘Our Green Flag Award Winning Park’!

It’s hard to see on this photo wot I took, but the Harris fencing that had been erected twixt the footpath and the dangerously crumbling wall had been vandalised and flattened. The used contraceptives on the floor near the first sitting bench on the left could hardly be seen due to the half-eaten and thrown away take-away remnants.

01topj7When I got to the top and turned right down towards the flats near the little croft, I used me full zoom to take this photo of a wood-pigeon.

Down the broken gravel-path and to the reception entrance. Where I met Deana Walker the camp kommandant and gave her some nibbles. Nice woman.

01topj8The little squirrel I named Cyril greeted me when I got there and he even nipped up on a parking bollard so I could get a reasonable photograph of him from a distance.

I wondered, does he know his coat blends in with concrete post?

Got in the flat and made for the WC.

Took the camera mobile and GP card from me coat.

I could almost feel me legs swelling physically – but they gave off no more pain than usual. The reflux valve and me feet were worse at this time.

01topj2Laptop on and updated this rubbish.

Added appointments to me Google calendar.

Another rather busy day tomorrow it seems.

Got me nosh on, fish-cakes, fish portions in batter, some chips and a couple of parsnips slices with garden peas in the oven.

While they were a-cooking I finished sorting the paperwork I found in yet another box yesterday – will it never end! Hehe.

P1020132Fair nosh, nothing special.

Followed by Lemon fool and mousse.

Tiredness dawned again.

Hate to thing how I‘ll manage with tomorrows lots to get through.

Nodded off and woke up half an hour later needing to tend to the porcelain, with a dirty great swelling on the back of me right upper arm? Throbbing and tender to the touch or when I caught it against owt?

Good job I’m going to see Dr Vindla in the morning. I’ve a feeling this might be seriously bothersome, whatever it is.
