Inchcock – Fri 8th Feb 2019: Sort of day, that one stops worrying about things, and realises Que Sera Sera! You can’t win anyway!

2019 Feb 09

23:52hrs. I woke up, the mind racing, battling incoming thoughts, ideas, and fears. Full of inconsequentialities, unconstructiveness, negativities, and dubiousness. All unhelpful, and ridden with habitual scepticism and lack of logicality or certainty! Eventually, the brain settled back into its accepting-mode of nebulosity and ambiguousness, and I released my overly-puppy-fatted bellied body from the £300 second-hand recliner.

WD128.0.0 The pins were solid as rocks, but less filled with fluid I think than yesterday morning. I’d have taken a photo, but haven’t found the camera yet!

Then it flooded back to me, the horrible afternoon I’d had yesterday. Memories were few and far between, from when I left the Social Hour hut. Thankfully I had taken some photographs to use for updating the Thursday post that tweaked the brain-box a little. Oh dear! Memory blanks, Shaking Shaun and Dizzy Dennis all had a good go at me I reckon!

Off to the Porcelain Throne. An even messier affair than the last one. Still, I found myself gently singing songs to myself as I cleaned things and myself up. Going potty has its benefits sometimes. Hehehe!

Got the Health Checks done, took the medications (Unsure of whether I should take a Furesomide tablet or not. I made a brew of tea.

5Fri001

BP is still a bit high. Hey-ho!

Computer turned on. I’d received an email from the surgery. After all the fuss and hassle of sorting out the four appointments for me, the Shingle injection has been rearranged again. For Thursday 14th, at the same time as the Winwood Social Hour again! My luck is getting thinner on the ground lately, and the new ailments, etc. (Legs, foot, Kidneys, and Back-pain-Brenda, combined with memory blanks and dizzies are getting to me. A chance of Self-Pity-Mode adoption now Hehe!).

Got on with updating the Thursday blog. Then went on WP reader.

No wee-weeing, other than the initial. Should I be glad or sad? Tsk! At least, there has been no dizzies yet, and that’s a blessing!

Spent some time creating this post, and a couple of close wee-wee’s were needed.

I got the ablutions sorted out, no shower this early of course. But the Morrison order should be arriving in an hour (twixt 06:00>07:00hrs), so I pressed on with the scrubbing up.

WD128.0.0 The dull kidney pains started as I got in the wet room, but eased off twenty-minutes later, then came on and off at will for the rest of the day! Tsk!

Where the second Porcelain Throne session was activated. A lot less messy this one, almost a pleasure. Haha!

Got sorted and dressed, gathered the washing bag for the laundry later.

Went on Facebooking while I waited for the Morrison food to arrive.

I couldn’t face any breakfast today. I think the kidney aches are putting me off, perhaps?

5Fri001bAshley arrived with the Morrison fodder for me.

I got it stored away. I now have an almost full freezer, fridge and several storage cupboards. Hehehe! They sent a freebie bottle of cordial, Melon, strawberry and something else. I can pass this on in the shed for someone. The milk bread was not so soft today as usual. Grumph!

I went on YouTube while awaiting the one-off delivery from Ocado.

5Fri002I’ve ordered some Marmite foods that Morrison do not sell from them. And, some Glengettie teabags. Two boxes of the normal Gengettie which is undoubtedly my favourite one of them all. And a box of Glengettie Special Gold teabags to try out! (Others that I am fond of), Strong Assam, Yorkshire and strong English Breakfast teabags, I have in abundance!

5Fri003aWhen the delivery arrived, I sorted it out.

I now have, Marmite flavoured biscuits, Crisps, Cheese, and Rice cakes stored away, along with the Genghettie tea bags and other stuff.

Some very nice looking turnips, and Chinese leaves. However, both are high in Vitamin K, and there is too much for me to eat while they are fresh. So, I took the leaves and two of the turnips with some food bags with me to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights Flats, and Administration shed, Generalleutnantess Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon lecture room. Breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed. Rumourmongering Clinic. Shoplifting training room. Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like porcelain and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room, shed. If any of the gals are in, they can have a good half of the Chinese leaves and two turnips if they like them. Which will do me a favour, cause it will stop me overeating, cause they are high in vitamin K as well? But Nurse Nichole ♥♥♥ tells me I may eat just a small amount.

I set off down and to the shed, where Obersturmbannführeress Warden and Ballerina Julie was working away. She took the cordial, Chinese leaves and turnips, I’m glad to say.

WD128.0.0 She mentioned that yesterday at the Social Hour: I was spotted falling asleep! I am blown if I can remember doing so. But it is believable with how I felt at the time. Oy Vey! I hope that doesn’t start again, the dropping off at any time, anywhere. Oh, dearie me!

WD128.0.0 I left and returned to my beloved Woodthorpe Court, with the kidney area becoming painful again. But this did not stop me seeing the funny side of the sign on the fenced-off walkway, with the thirty-foot drop on the right as I hobbled by it. Hehehe! I took these photographs and doctored them when I got home later, with Lovers’ Leap wording added to them. Hahaha! I must be feeling a bit better if the humour is returning! As usual, I anticipate regretting having said that!

5Fri004

5Fri007aAs I crossed over to get to the flats, I snapped the bottom part of the building. I think that the new doorway being built on the right, will become part of the passageway through to the being built Winwood Court, and the Oberstleutnantess Wardens Holding cells, offices and possibly the bouncy castle on the roof? Haha!, I said I must be feeling better, I might be, right?

I met Malcolm in the foyer and passed acknowledgements with him.

5Fri08WD128.0.0 As I got in the lift, suddenly I didn’t feel any better, though. Hell of a visit from Dizzy Dennis made sure of that. I got out of the elevator and had to stand to lean against the wall for a while, before carrying on to the apartment. The drilling and dust continue from the workers doing sprinkler-prepping work. Seem and sound decent enough chaps to me.

I checked, but both of the washing machines were in use. Ah, well!

5Fri08aI got in the kettle on the boil.

I perched myself up two steps of the ladder so I could get beyond the ridiculously wide new unwanted window ledge, to take this photograph of below.

I think that might have been neighbour Malcolm in the white car escaping. I know he bought a new white one recently? Haha! He might be off to pick up his grandkids, I reckon. Or go to the bookies. Or to threaten his Bank Manager. Haha! Of course, it might not even be Malc at all!

Then, I can report that I had a four-minute brewed, first ever mug of the ludicrously pricey Ocado Glengettie Gold tea!

Chuffing hell, it was good!

1Mon01

This Gold variety is a blend of Assam and South African black. It has a flowery tang with it; Jolly tasty, but worth the extra cash to me.

The 100% Assam Glengettie is costly enough and not so sweet tasting, so I’ll stick with that one as my 3wed05favourite still. The next best is the Special Morrison Assam. Then the Gold Glengettie.

All three of them put the weak, watery, bland, tasteless but called Strong Twinings Assam to shame.

Sound a bit like an addicted expert tea 5Fri09sommelier, don’t I? Hehehe!

I think I’ll do some sandwiches for the meal today. With perhaps some pickled gherkins, Chinese leaves, tomatoes and a knob of Marmite cheese maybe?

I’ll see how I feel later. The old appetite has lessened lately. Might be due to the kidney problem?

I made a mug of Morrison Special Assam and nipped to the wet room while the kettle was boiling up, just to check that I had not left any lights or taps running. That little walk was hampered by the legs hurting again, not the left heel of the foot though? I had a look at the pins.

5Fri10aThe impression of a face that was above the knee yesterday had changed. But what into, I could not decipher. Ah, is it like a Skoda car badge?

But the legs had certainly got even harder and more fluid in them compared to earlier this morning.

So, back to the kitchen made a brew of Yorkshire tea and swallowed a Furesomide belatedly, with the lunchtime medications and did the Health Checks. BP was still very high.

I spent about an hour updating this blog further, then it started: the wee-weeing! The first one being an LHBLWWs (Long Hosepipe-Blasting like Wee-wee), all following ones were of the LSPWWW (Long Slow Painful Weak Wee-wee) and frequent, mode. I’m getting fed up with this! Hahaha!

Got the cold nosh prepared after another three hours on the computer, that has CorelDraw playing up now! Grumph!

As I got the simple meal served up, the bloody weariness and drained sensation returned again5Fri34, suddenly so tired and weak.

I think that with no one seeming to think these periods are worth doing anything about, is more annoying than the periods themselves. Whoops, a drop of self-pity slipped in there, sorry.

I couldn’t eat anywhere near all of the nosh, Again! Yet it was tasty enough? I expect to get told off for eating white bread and my weight again soon. Sorry, Sister Jane. Hehe!

6Sat03I got settled down very early again, in the £300 second-hand 1968 rusty, rickety recliner with some spring water, jelly babies and got the TV on.

The legs felt like I had worms inside wriggling about, but the redness was getting far less.

The fatter fluid container on the left was now filed more than the one on the right, another reversal from the layout this morning. Hehehe!

As for watching TV: the A-team, Boon and Pie in the Sky… no chance! I nodded off at the first set of commercials during the A-Team!

Waking up hours later, in need of the Emergency Grey Bucket. So often it is hard to recall how many times it was utilised. Any more bits of sleep I got in, seemed to be in ten-minute segments between wee-wees!

Fed-Upski, now! Haha!

Inchcock Today: Thurs 27th Dec 2018: Woke to an Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplop, legs, ankles full of fluid… and things got worse! Worra rotten, ‘orrible day! Hey-ho!

Thursday 27th December 2018

Greek: Πέμπτη 27 Δεκεμβρίου 2018

3Wed2923:25hrs. WD 0.0.255c As I stirred into a simulation of life, the strong smell of cooking permeated my nostrils, and a spot of panic arrived in the brain. ‘I’d left the crock-pot on full, and then fell asleep last night!’ I fumbled and fought my way off of the £300 second-hand rickety, rusty recliner, stubbed my toe, knocked the mineral bottle off of the Ottoman and rushed to the kitchen! The crock-pot had almost boiled dry! So, no meal last night, oddly I did not feel particularly hungry.

Self-recrimination’ and ‘I Do Feel a Fool’ modes engaged!

WD 0.0.255c While cleaning things up, the most urgent of needs for an SSWW (Short-Sharp-Wee-wee) arrived. I grabbed the small plastic waste bin that I now keep handy for just such an emergency, and Christened it. Oh dear, the blood flowed from Little Inchies Fungal Lesion, so off to the wet room to treat and clean things up. This is not a good start to the day, and I have to go for the blood test and to collect the prescriptions later!

4Thu02WD 0.0.255c I treated the lesion, painfully, and cleaned things. Spotting three of the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) on the floor near the shower drain this time.

As I took this photograph of the cunning weevils, I noticed blood on the paper towel. Yes, the lesion had started leaking again. I assume this will mean me trying to find time to get to the GUM Clinic… Oh, it will be closed today, Boxing Day! I dabbed away the blood, I can sort things out again when I have the shower during my ablutionalisationing session.

WD 0.0.255c The mind started off on one of its frenzied, neurotic, panicky brain wanderings, driven on, no doubt, by apprehensiveness and insecurity. Anything to fret about or be concerned over flitted through the grey-cells. A desire for anthropinisation lingered in amongst the other anxious-making, self-seeked fears. I was getting too much detail, all at the same time. For a few moments, I was another person altogether. I felt trepidatious. A Nervous Wreck!

While writing the above, the words flowed smoothly, but these mind-blitzes do me no good at all.

Back to the kitchen, feeling a great deal better and not knowing why I felt in such an improved mental state, I got the Health Checks done, made a brew of tea and took the medications.

4Thu03a

4Thu01The Sys seems to be going up and down regularly this week? I don’t think the problems I’m having with the Warfarin INR level should affect this, though?

The fluid retention in the legs has returned, they feel like hard balloons when I squeeze them. Will I be forward enough to ask the Doctor for a check-up when I get to the surgery?

I cleaned up the mess up that I made earlier in my panic-evacuation from the recliner. Bending down was more painful today, but the fluid retention might be the reason.

I opened the unwanted light & view-blocking new kitchen window and took three shots of the scene in front of me. I tried different options to see what they would come out like and learn their qualities. Auto, Night Sky and Stars. I’d best stick to using the Auto, do you think?

4Thu001

I got the computer on and updated the Woeful Wednesday post.* Taking four SSWWs while updating. *Mind you, today’s might be more Woeful, the way its started. Hehehe!

Off to the Porcelain Throne. Decent session, only the tiniest drop of blood from Harold’s Haemorrhoids.

WD 0.0.255c One more EIBWBBB spotted near the sink. A live one this time, I decided to go for the kill! But, the Sanmex Killer spray can was empty! By the time I’d collected a new one from my arsenal in the main room and got back to the wet room, the cunning EIBWBBB was gone, Tsk!

Made a start on this blog up to here. Taking three more SSWWs while doing it.

Then went on the WordPress Reader. On to the comments. Another SSWW, and on to the TFZer Facebooking.

CorelDraw next, I must get some page top graphics done in advance! I managed about three.

Got the ablutions tended to. Being later in the morning now, I could use the shower without disturbing my beloved neighbours, a very refreshing and enjoyable scrub-up! WD 0.0.255c I did manage to nick the chin shaving, which was a bit of a battle to stop bleeding, had to use the after-shave. Of course, the stinging pain was of no bother to a man like me. “Lie-Mode Engaged!” But it told me that the Warfarin level might still be too high, hence thin blood?

Got the dressing gown on and sprayed with deodorant and back to the kitchen to check on the beans in the crock-pot.

4Thu06aBack to the wet room for an SSWW…

In the few minutes, I’d been gone from the shower room, four EIBWBBBs and a baby one had shown up in there! One of the larger ones (Top right) was very-much-alive, kicking and trying to bite me! The dang things are winning this war I think! Cunningly using only small patrols to invade with and fooling me into thinking I might be 4Thu07winning the battle! Humph!

I got undies and socks on belatedly, and it came apparent to me why the joints and limbs were hurting and making movement a task for me. The legs were solid with the retained fluid.

I’ll mention this to the nurse, whichever one is on duty today.

I dressed and took the seven black plastic bags of waste to the rubbish chute.

The walk to the surgery is going to take some effort with how the legs, feet and ankles are feeling. Still, needs must.

4Thu08I had to push myself more than I would have liked, due to my taking too long in doing the ablutions, I’d left myself with only 50 minutes to get there.

I pressed on along Chestnut Walk and down Winchester Street. I thought I might regret not putting on the big coat, as everyone I saw had their scarves, gloves and hats on, but I didn’t feel too cold at all?

4Thu09Of course, I was manipulating two rock-hard swollen legs and feet, with a gallon or two of fluid in them, as fast as I could. Hehe! So that might have helped me keep warm a bit?

I cut through side streets to save some time.

I got to the surgery in Carrington, with five minutes to spare!  Smug-Mode Adopted.

I logged in and sat down doing the crossword in the book. Fifteen minutes later… Nurse Ann came to collect me! This was ineludible really, the way the day had gone so far! Grumph! 4Thu15Anyway, she fooled me today, and she listened to me when I spoke and did not answer at me before I’m finished making my point. Oh, Yes!

Concerned about how solid the fluid-filled legs were, and concerned about my dizzies, she made an appointment there and then for me – she even printed out a letter for me to take with me, to show Dr Vindla… 0900hrs in the morning! No rest for the wicked is there! Marvellous! 09:00hrs Doctors Appointments. 11:20hrs: Clinic Appointment. Shopping to do. Graphics page top headers need tending to. And I am expecting the appointment to arrive from the Anticoagulation and Deep Vein Thrombosis Clinic, and The GUM clinic. Gonna be a busy lad! As for the next laundry and getting the flat sorted… Humph!

I thanked her, and meant it, gave her a New Year pressie, left the treatment room, left nibbles for the reception staff and off outside and along Mansfield Road to the Carrington Pharmacy.

4Thu10And, I had a camera view of what was nearly an accident as a lorry pulled away from the opposite kerb, close to clouting the red car! Ace Reporter Inchcock Strikes Again! Hehehe!

WD 0.0.255c I collected the prescriptions from the chemist and bought a thermometer that takes the temperature from the ear-hole. Not cheap. But the thing that narked me, was once one bought it as I foolishly did – it needs a supply of plastic wax-defender-covers. What will they cost to buy? The few in the box will not last long, the instructions I read later said a new one needs to be used each time a reading is taken. Oy Vey! What a schnook, First-Class with Bar, Grade A, I am! I might get someone to scrawl ‘Gullible’ on my forehead for me! I could write a book, Gullible’s Travels! I really wee myself off at times!

Depressed and annoyed at myself, I trudged limpingly along to the Lidl store. I got some bread rolls to have with my attempted Chilli later. Honey Mini Ribs and Honey Gammon shanks and some beef cubes.

Paid at the self-serve tills without any problem.

4Thu11Caught the bus back into Sherwood.

With bag being heavy, due to the month’s supply of medications, the knees and ankles were suffering. Hey-ho!

I caught a bus back up to the  Winwood Heights.

WD 0.0.255c A sickeningly 4Thu12worrying sight near the Woodthorpe Court lobby entrance doors.

A paramedic car and an ambulance in attendance. The stomach went acidy on me when I saw these. I hope and pray that it is not too severe for whoever was in need of them.

Fingers crossed!

Limped up to the flat, had an SSWW and cleaned up 4Thu13where the lesion had been bleeding a bit.

Got the purchases put away. The mini-ribs and Gammon shanks looked like they should be tasty when I get around to nibbling them.

I opened the sack of medications and laid them out ready to rotate and store them in the drugs drawer.

4Thu14WD 0.0.255c You can see rip-off, expensive thermometer, that needs covers to be bought every time I use it and a massive battery that will cost I don’t dare to think off…

Sorry about that, Self-Pity Mode slipped in there!

Naughty, Inchcock!

I got the medicines stored and checked the 4Thu16crockpot contents. I moved the beans and mini-potatoes from the slow-cooker to the saucepan on a low light and added the chilli and some tomatoes.

It took me ages to clean the slow-cooker.

Another SSWW and I got on with updating this blog. So tired now, it’s gon my head-down time already. But, the late appointment today has cocked up my clock altogether today.

4Thu15Did up to here, and put the appointment letter in the jacket pocket, so I did not forget it in the mornings.

I kept nipping in to stir the concoction in the saucepan and nipping off for many SSWWs.

Proper fed-up, weary and the legs etc. are giving me gip! And, now I have just found some new boils. I won’t say where they are, but I found them by feel! Tsk!

Back on the computer… Guess What!

4Thu06

I gave up and got the nosh prepared. It looked and smelt highly appealing. But in reality, it was a major disaster in the seasoning department! Not sure what I put in the thing now, but, best forgotten anyway. The rolls soaked up the decent gravy, but I could not eat it all… Horrible comes to mind. Tsk!

4Thu19

I got the pots in the washing up bowl to soak. Tired as I felt, I thought it best to get the saucepans, and other things washed as well. Then, if I did feel as bad in the morning, I wouldn’t have to face the decoking job then. Haha!

I think I rang Sister Jane to update her on the medical matters.

Dizzy Dennis paid me a visit as soon as I got down in the £300 second-hand rickety recliner to watch a Frost DVD. Not sure what happened after that…

Inchcock Today – Sat 15 Dec 2018: Not one of my better days, but still!

15 Dec 2018

Saturday 15th December 2018

Finnish: Lauantai 15. Joulukuuta 2018

WD 131.25.50 I’m not sure when it was, but the landline-light flashed and woke me. I fought to get to answer it before it stopped. I wish I hadn’t bothered now. It was some git saying he was from Chucky-Chicken or something like that and had my food outside for me. After the electricians waking me last night after I’d got my head down and now this – I was not very pleasant to the chap, I didn’t swear or bang the phone down though! I told him I have not ordered any food, this often happened to me in the past, and could he remove this number from his phone, please. No answer, then he just repeated that he had my meal outside for me. I rang off, tired, weary, pissed-off and annoyed! The git rang back a couple of minutes later, I ignored the call. But I can’t turn off the phone, as it is linked to the wristlet panic alarm. Last time this happened, I did try turning off the phone. Got my head down again and got a call from the Monitoring Station on my mobile, telling me the line was dead and I must put and keep it on at all times. This was the continuation of bad luck and frustrations since the electricians woke me. My EQ told me there is more to come!

23:28hrs: Woke still feeling the same as last night, I’m afraid. Weary, fatigued and self-irritating! The usual physical ailments were all being so kind to me, that it worried me! Hehe! After a couple of minutes waiting for the brain activity to join the body, I clambered out of the £300 second-hand rickety recliner, got the slippers on, and manipulated the dressing gown around my more-than-ample, wobbly-fleshed excessively pot-bellied body.

To the wet room for an SSWW (Short-Sharp-Wee-wee). I noticed only one of the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) in the place. Cleaned the dandies and out to the kitchen to do the Health Checks.

WD 131.25.50 Setting up the sphygmomanometer, and a sudden demand for the Porcelain Throne to be utilised appeared. Back to the wet room. Tsk! The session was as good as they get, no bleeding or struggling whatsoever! Things physically seem to be doing well today? A Saturday as well, this is most uncommon.

Back to the fodder making room, to carry on with the hemadynamometer readings.

6Sat05

6Sat03The results, apart from the weight, of course, are all down a bit. Well, a lot really.

I think this is a good thing, but how the brain is this morning, all vague and indistinguishable from babble at times, I’m not all that sure.

There is a definite reluctance on my brain’s willingness to engage full operational activities. More like a ‘keep your head down’ mode! An unwillingness, idleness of sorts. Like he’s had enough input and can cope with no more?

I got the computer on and checked the Emails. One from the doctor’s surgery. I knew this would happen, I think I said so in yesterdays Inchcock Today?

6Sat08

I asked for one as early as possible (futile I know). But it was their fault the appointment was made late, and now I get it for 11:45hrs. This is terrible timing for me. When I start to fade every day around 13-14:00hrs has been told to them. But at least they said they are sorry this time. Not as sorrily as I’m going to be on Tuesday though. Swine! They couldn’t even get my name right! And, ‘Kind Regards?’ Is that taking the piss or mocking me or what? Oy-Yoy-Yoy!

I’ve not felt this low for ages – at least this time I know why. The accumulation of repeatedly being stopped and woke up from my sleep by telephone calls that are not for me, late calling workers, dizzies, falls and now being let down again by the Sherrington Park Medical Practise staff! I hate weekends at the best of times, but this one is already on its way to driving me to end of my tether!

Things have left me feeling cantankerous, curmudgeonly, hacked-off, fed up, disgruntled, self-loathing, woeful, joyless, unvalued and sorry for myself. Just thought I’d mention it!

I got the Friday Inchcock completed and posted it off.

Another summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived. All good again, mo bleeding or leaking.

Made a start on updating this post.

Went on TFZer Facebook page.

Feeling a bit worse for wear now, Dizzy Dennis had paid a call. Tsk!

6Sat23Got the nosh prepared, I wasn’t feeling hungry at the time, but thought it best to eat something, before I fell asleep.

I rang Sister Jane as I got the nosh prepared, no answer, but I expect they will be out and about actually doing something and busy. She rings back when she misses a call, which is nice of her.

I served up the mini-meal and got down in the recliner. I was trying to stay awake and was lacklustrely picking at the food when Sister Jane called back. I was glad to have a chinwag with Jane, although the line interference was bad, and he had to go when the bus she and Pete were waiting for arrived. I really can’t remember all that was said, nor be sure of facts I could recall of the conversation afterwards. Tsk!

I finished off the fodder and put the plate and tray down on the chair next to the recliner. Convinced I was about to drift off into the land of Nod and stay there for a long time. This did not prove to be the case, however.

A frustratingly disturbed night followed.

Ah, well! Half-way through the lonely mind-paralysing weekend, at least! Hehe!

TTFN.
