WDP 10R01LWD 150.0.0 23:55hrs: Another flipping disturbed sleep. The constant dreams! It peeves me so that I cannot recall much of them. Other than they all involved my working days happenings, cock-ups, mistakes etc. were relived, but with a different outcome… I think. When I had to get up (yet again) to go for a wee-wee, (They were all of the LHNPOS (Long-Hosepipelike-No-Pain-Or-Sensation) variety, I decided I might as well stay up.

“Morpheus, sweet Morphius, please return to me – Please! I’ll be moaning in three or four days, about me falling asleep on the bus or Throne! Hehehe!

6Sat03I got the stick and went to the kitchen, to take the medications and make a brew of Thompsons Punjana tea.

WD 150.0.0 Then I opened the Amazon bag and got the new coat out to try it for size. It was supposed to be XXL but was just a bit tight. When I saw the ‘Made in China’ label, this explained things a bit. I took off the hood, so I could keep it somewhere that I will not remember when I need it. Phwerp! It was lovely and warm, with six pockets for me to lose things in.

Most importantly and the reason I paid so much for it, it was long enough to cover-up the signs on my wearing the PP’s. The main worry was the delicate but stiff working zip, fingers crossed on that! I put it on a hangar, in the hope that the creases from it being wrapped tightly and squashed in transit, might fall out.

With no demand for the Porcelain Throne yet, I got on the computer, no point in going to have a wash and disturb the neighbours at this ridiculous hour. I started to update the Friday blog. During which, I got the hiccups for about an hour and a half. Why though, I just don’t know.

But I did recognise, that Arthur Itis, after yesterdays bad sessions, was all calm again? But there were tweaks of movement from the Peripheral Neuropathic right side leg. I felt sure that a Neuropathic Schuhplattler dancing session was soon to affect me, even my EQ warned me If I read him correctly – their’s no words, just emotion like feeling from him. I can’t understand or learn from him a lot of the time, but he’s rarely wrong). Bonkers? Me?

Later, the shoulder and arm-shaking started, but the finger-ends neurotransmitters were not too bad at the moment. The wee-wees all the same type, have been regular. I might have got a Furesomide taken by mistake for a Codeine 30g or Beta-blocker, with all three of them looking the same clour, size and shape, thanks to Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, (Near the Lidl Store).

This is why, about 4-5 weeks ago, Nurse Leoni (Medicines Management Team) phoned Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, (Near the Lidl Store) pharmacy for me. Told them not to put the Furesomides in the blister-pack, because they are taken on an as-needed, ad-hoc basis.

But, Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, (Near the Lidl Store) who assured Leoni they would in future be sent in packets, failed miserably and dispatched them in the blisters again. This should have annoyed me, well, it did at the time. But I couldn’t get too worked up about it, because Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, (Near the Lidl Store) delivered my medications five days late last month, and I had no Furesomides, Beta-blockers or Codeine to counter the pain I was in for those five days.

ChemistNo apologies from Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, (Near the Lidl Store). And to think, that ‘Yell’ (Yellow Pages) on the web, class them as one of the top three chemists in Nottingham! Astounding in the extreme, Troppo!

There must be some dangwangling, ‘Not-exactly-fair’ business practices going on here?

6Sat02aI began this post off. Then went to open the Crock-pot box. It was ginormous! Far too big for me to use. A family size one, for sure.

I had a proper struggle to get it out of the box. I then pondered on who to give it to. I’ll have to buy a smaller one.

6Sat04WD 150.0.0 I put the cooker on the kitchen-top.  As you see by the picture, it ain’t gonna fit! It will have to squash things to get it in under the wall cupboard, and the heat of five or six hours simmering is going to be too dangerous for me. Nope, disappointing as it is, I will not risk using it. Tsk! It’ll have to go!

6Sat05WD 150.0.0 A proper shame that. I was going to do some mushrooms and tomatoes. But on a closer look at the Dutch tom’s, they were all seeping, with skins cracked and black spots coming up to the surface on them! Well, EQ did warn me! So it didn’t matter as much, now. But my idiocy still wrangled me!

WD 150.0.0 I went all coy and ashamed. Suddenly badly depressed. I didn’t know whether to cry, commit hari-kari, lambast my own stupidity in not checking when I bought the slow-cooker, or just sob for a bit! Tsk! What a pathetic, stupid nayfish I am. Oy-oy-oy!  Goodnight! As my spirits sank, a massive, moody moroseness, of mammoth-magnitude, made me melancholy and sulky!

WD 150.0.0 As I began to go on the TFZer Facebooking… Oh, crap!

Virg 150.0.0

WD 150.0.0 More time lost! I’d been up and about for eight-hours. And with no sleep, and the hassle with the cooker-cock-up I’d made, and now the internet, and still having some graphics to make up, downhearted and a lack of interest came over me.

When it came back on, the internet was very slow and kept having freezing moments. Which took the pleasure away from my TFZing! But I spent many hours on CorelDraw doing a couple of templates in readiness, a slog!

Feeling rough now. But hungry, which is not to be unexpected (that’s not grammatically correct is it? Or is it?), with not eating last night. Chilli-Beans with black bean sauce, pork slices and some bacon. And few slices of slightly stale Milk Roll bread.

While I was preparing the meal, as the brain drifting off into a meandering, thought-Storm of confusion, the ET came into communication with me. His message was short and sharp. “Expect a shock, soon!” But being as I am always doing this, as a natural part of by resilience building, Huh! I ignored him.

6Sat24I got the nosh finished, served up, and tucked into. The black bean sauce weakened the chilli flavour, which suited me down to the ground. I blame Morrison’s, for substituting my curry beans with the Chilli ones!

A flavour rating of 7.2/10 was granted.

WDP 2019A2AWD 150.0.0a After eating, I decided I had better get the washing up done. Maybe to assuage my guilt with the Crock-Pot farce? When the pot-cleaning was done, I lifted the bowl to tip out the water so as to wipe it dry… Within seconds I had, soapy wet jammies and socks, the cabinets had running suds down them, the floor was awash, and all due to an involuntary Neuropathic Schuhplattler drop-something and flail-about dance from the right leg! To add to the misery, I kicked the four-pronged walking stick over, and the handle part fell on my left foot corn! Somehow, I knew that this incident was not what EQ was warning me about! That is to be revealed, yet, if at all.

I cleaned everything up (I think), and changed the jammie-bottoms with my other pair, and hun the old ones to dry. Then, my enthusiasm, will-power and energy drained, I got settled very early into the £300, second-hand, cringingly beige-coloured recliner. Although I was sure I would not be able to stay awake to watch it, I still put on DVD, ‘Hello I’m Alan Partridge’ Well fatigued, I drifted of within minutes.

After another dream involving my past failures and embarrassments, and I can recall bits of this. I put (in the daymare) “I shall not disclose these events, they were private and of a nature that was not revealable to avoid more embarrassment for me” The internet went crazy with people for all over the world demanding I tell all? I can’t recall, but I’m sure I did not do so. Hehe! Worra lucid, real-feeling dream!

I woke up and wrote some scribbled notes about the dream on my pad. Then, looked at the clock, it showed 3:30, for a while I thought it was in the morning, and I’d slept for over 12 hours! A moment or to later I acclimatised my brain (as much as is possible) and realised I had only been akip for two hours, and it was the afternoon. The day being so dark fooled me. (A searched for excuse, Haha!)

WDP sleepLWD 150.0.0 Then I saw that the DVD was still playing, (Or I’d hit the remote that lay between my legs and turned it back on) so turned it off, and considered getting up to do the handwashing. But nodded off again, and this time it was for nine-hours or so! I woke at midnight!

21:55hrs: I stirred and pondered on what day and time it was, then got both the wee-wee and Porcelain Throne needs from the innards. I was wobbly and unsteady after I got up[ from the £300, second-hand, c1968 recliner. I took a few moments to assess the situation, but not too long, bearing in mind the need for the Porcelain Throne. Arthur Itis and new toothache coming on were the only worryable things. Arthur Itis calmed down a bit pretty quickly once I grabbed the stick and started moving.

wd 60.25.0 2 The Throne session was not a good one. Massive, slow and messy with a surprising amount of discomfort. At least it gave me a chance to have a go at the crossword. It was painful when I stood up after so long sat with bent knees. Arthur Itis wasn’t happy about it at all. I recalled bits of a horrible dream I’d had, a bully of a shop manager kept throwing me out, and threatening me with the sack?

5Fri01A clean-up, and off to the kitchen. I got the kettle on and took the medications. Glad to see there was no fog this morning. I took a terrible shaky shot of the view outside. One of my worserer ones, for Shaking Shaun, was enjoying himself in alliance with Peripheral Neuropathy Pete, making sure that the right leg, shoulder, arm and hands were rattling away shaking like a good un!

WDP 003awd 60.25.0 2 As I was making the tea, another call for a wee-wee arrived! The knees were really giving me some gip now. The flipping wee-wee was aright sprinkler and a long one! I had to clean the same places as ten-minutes or so ago! Tsk! But at least I had bottles of antiseptic disinfectant to use.

5Fri001wd 60.25.0 2 I had a look at the knees, and liberally applied the Phorpain Gel and rubbed it in well. The legs looked alright to me. The knees were today’s problem, talk about stiff, and the, stabbing pains came unexpectedly and had gone in seconds, but repeatedly so. Not good this.

wd 60.25.0 2 WDPh 01RThe fingers were tingling and a tad annoying. Obviously, the neurotransmitter’s were not connecting again. I nearly dropped the milk, then the tea mug.

Then to the computer. What a farce with the contact-nerves and this new to me, tingling in the finger ends, and the shoulder shaking, it was most annoying and bothersome. A bloody good job there wasn’t a lot left to do on the blog, or I would have still been here tonight! Typing was not easy at all, the mistakes that needed correcting were multitudinous! I like that word!

WDPleft02wd 60.25.0 2 As I sat there working on the computer, Arthur Itis moaned every time I had to get up for a wee-wee. And that was very regularly. So, a quick assessment: Arthur Itis was playing up, and Peripheral Neuropathy Pete too. The feet were hurting, well stinging every trip to the GPEWWB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency-Wee-Wee-Bucket. And there were plenty of them! The growing toothache was getting a little more painful. Saccades-Sandra had now joined in making typing almost impossible! As if the fingers weren’t enough! The right shoulder was shaking that much, it began to ache, as well as giving its contribution to the ‘Let’s bugger-up Inchcock Today’, ailment army! Things were not going to be good today. I think the EQ knows this and is avoiding sending me any messages? Humph!

I made up a funny ode, called it ‘Inchcockski: Searching for Sanity & Logicality – In bad Rhyme!‘ and sent it off. But it took a lot out of me, physically and mentally. Got it sent off to WordPress.

I struggled on, taking three times as long as I should have, and perused the WordPress Reader. Then went of the TFZer Facebooking. Put some photos on Pinterest.

wd 60.25.0 2 WDP 1LaAnd then… I only need the Porcelain Throne again! Arthur Itis is now as mad as he has ever been with me. This is not good! And I have to keep getting up for a wee-wee! They were all, up to now, of the PLSE (Persistent-Long-Spraying-Everywhere) style! Which some else to fret about, I just cannot control the evacuations at all. Just keep kitchen towels and disinfectant nearby to use, and a tube of Phorpain gel 5Fri02for Arthur’s knees. I think it’s fair to say, a modicum of depression is building up! The pins (legs) looked the same pot-mark-wise as earlier, but they seem to be getting a smidge more colour? Just a couple of more blood-papules. I’ll recheck them after the ablutions are done, this is a rarity! Hahaha!

I’ve got the winter coat and new crock-pot being delivered today, from Amazon. I dare not use the old cooker anymore now. The porcelain pot is well cracked, I could have bought a new slow-cooker, I suppose, but this one is such a bargain, it probably cost me less than a replacement dish would have? Hehe! Laughter? Me? Why?

I finished the Thursday blog in the end. About half-way through, much to my utter surprise and amazement, Saccades-Sandra and Arthur Itis eased off! The shaking shoulder, arm and hand are still with, but, not to look a gift-horse in the mouth, this was a pleasant backasswards event. But it could be one of fate’s misleading, cunning plans, though? Giggle!

5Fri03I had to absquatulate for a wee-wee, this was a bit different, of the SSP (Short-Sharp-Painful) style. I got the grey bucket emptied, rinsed and sanitised, and decided to get the handwashing done. Going to be a slow job getting the jammie-bottoms dry. The socks and long-sleeve t-shirt will be okay, being thinner.

5Fri08wd 60.25.0 2 Then, off to get the ablutions done. I had to do them I thought, in case the Amazon stuff arrives early. I’d already stripped off, but I went to check on the Amazon tracker.  It seems that the three items are being delivered by different parties. I looked up each one, and this is the soonest one that will arrive, and that’s not even out for delivery yet! Oh, heck! It appears I shall possibly have to stay awake until near to or on, the 22:00hrs deadline?

The ablutions were started properly this time. And it was a good session… until it came to towelling off! (There’s alway something, Hehe!) During doing the teggies, shaving and showering, I only dropped a few things; The razors (3), carbolic soap, toothbrush, antiseptic Dettol bottle (which didn’t break or split), and the showerhead. I even managed to clean some of the wall tiles! Great improvement there!

WDP 20193bwd 60.25.0 2 However… when I started to dry myself off, I knocked just about everything off of the floor cabinets, as I got carried away aggressively towelling myself. Spittling-Splurging-Sparrowhawks! Another half an hour lost, picking up the things and cleaning the place again!

wd 60.25.0 2 But the Whoopsies didn’t end there, oh no! Muggins here, went into the kitchen to check on the handwashing hanging up. Reached up to test how dry the socks had got, knocked the hanger off of the pole, grabbed at the socks, and knocked knives, fork spoons, spatulas, plastic tubs, none-blister medications etc. onto the floor. Needless to say, a tub of medications (Saccade-Sandra’s spray) rolled underneath the fridge! I spent ten minutes or so searching for the picker-upperer, so I could retrieve the bottle. All this time, forgetting entirely that I had left it in the wet room, from when I used it fifteen minutes or so, ago, to reach and retrieve the Corticosteroid and Savlon cream tubes! What a Shmegegge, Schmo and Schmuck!

wd 60.25.0 2 It got worse! I fetched stick from the wet room and got down to prod out the spray, which I can claim to have done with relative ease… But getting back up again was a farcical, yet, funny event. I’d had the sense to take the four-pronged stick with me, and used it to help gain a hold onto, to lift my belly with other smaller appendages, back up again? Of course, I did in the end. But what a struggle! “Humph”

5Fri10I took the black, and recycling bags down to Caretaker Stewart room. We shared some Rabelaisian humour, handed over the nibbles, and then returned to the flat, and checked to see how far on the Tracker had gone. Perhaps he’s having his dinner? The driver who is taking it to the dispatch place, I wonder where that is? Bit it is still hours away from there, then someone has to come to Nottingham with the stuff. It’s going to be hard to stay awake. Oh, dearie me! Dangwangles and damn!

I went back on CorelDraw, to have another go at doing some graphics. Between wee-wees, mugs of milk and Dizzy Dennis, I got one, just one done. I had to give up computerisationing.

Jenny phoned me on the landline, the window cleaner was on his way. So I had to move all the stuff off of the kitchen window ledge again. Grumps!

The chap arrived, and we had a laugh and gossip while he did the windows for me. He had to remind me that he wanted payment for5Fri05 his work.  Ahem!

I had a wee-wee and rechecked the legs. All looked good, odd size pins again, and getting pale once more. Dizzy Dennis still a little pestering! Oh, just noticed some more blood papules coming up on the right (and heavier, 5Fri11bigger) leg.

The Amazon stuff was still awaited, but they are getting closer now. But with it now gone my head-down time, I was getting more and more fatigued, and struggling to stay awake. Rechecked the tracker, they now have a disclaimer of sorts on there; “Estimated delivery windows may change due to traffic and other conditions. Check back for updates!” I see! So I might get to sleep by the time for my getting up! There is little chance of staying awake much longer – pee’d-off! The first ETA of 15:00>1700hrs has now gone to 17:00>19:00hrs. Lucky bugger, I am!

The intercom flashed, and I let-in the driver! The young man looked well-drained. He placed the larger looking than I expected crock-pot box and bag with the coat inside the door for me, and had to shoot off.

All but done in, I left the things where they were. No meal or eating. I got a bottle of orange from the fridge and settled down in the rickety, second-hand, c1968 recliner. So tired!

WDP 13aRwd 60.25.0 2 But an amalgamation of dreams, Colin Cramps, Anne Gyna and the loudest ever heard from ‘The Hum’,(The Hum is a phenomenon, or collection of events, involving widespread reports of a persistent and invasive low-frequency humming, rumbling, or droning noise not audible to all people. Hums have been widely reported by national media in the UK and the United States), ensured another session of sleep-deprivation followed for a few hours. After about four hours, and waking for a wee-wee, I decided to give up, I’d got up, anyway.

Farewell, folks!

00:00hrs: Not a good night. I may have been a little excited about getting out, and meeting all the residents in Sherwood, being insulted by Frank, nearly spoken to by Welsh William, told off by Jenny (but she does it so perfectly. Bless her!), and the bank visit farce. But getting and staying asleep, was again tricky. I spent the night waking every few minutes, at least it felt like that. I think I woke up more tired than I went to bed! When I say bed, I mean the chair. The £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. The one that xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward. As he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took. Hehe!

It soon came to mind, that I needed to get yesterdays diary updated and a lot of photographs to be sorted first. Then, the Porcelain Throne Alarm arrived from the innards. I got out of the recliner with relative ease, apart from Arthur Itis, Duodenal Donald, Saccades-Sandra and Anne Gyna, all being calm for me.

WD 200.0.0AWD 200.0.0 3Wed15aOff to the wet room. A messy affair in the extreme, a struggle to get started, a lot of product, pain and some bleeding from Harold’s Haemorrhoids. But I’ve had worse, so coped well. The cleaning up afterwards was a bind, I caught my knee against the Sock-Glide, which I’d left in a different place yesterday, so serves me right! The legs were looking a tad odd, with the different sizes of them, and some red marks on the shins? No toe-stubbing though, and that’s a sort of victory for me. Hehehe!

WDP 1LcWD 200.0.0 Off to the kitchen to take the medications, and make a brew. Which had to be abandoned. For as I was about to add the milk, a surprisingly-urgent call for a wee-wee came out of nowhere, and I hastened back to the wet room to satisfy the need. Well, I think I was in there so long, my hair had started growing again! What an odd wee-wee session, even for me. The lasered bladder wanted and did its best to start things going, but it took ages. Then the accompanying pain was unpleasant as it eventually began, and throughout. At best, a trickle or dribble, not even a stream. And talk about spraying out all over the place! With such lack of power behind the movement, how it managed to spread the spindrift-like splashes over such a wide area, and myself, I can’t work out. More cleaning and disinfecting had to be done.

4Thu03 - CopyWD 200.0.0 Another mash of tea to replace the long-gone cold one. Took the medications, and had to get out the GPEWWB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency-Wee-wee-Bucket). After using it for another excruciating ELWPP (Extremely-Long-Weak-Powerless-Painful) wee-wee, I placed it near the computer area for quick access. No doubts about it, today was going to be painful, tiring one, of repeated marathon wee-weeing! Humph! I shan’t keep mentioning them, too tiresome for you, other than they were persistent and prolonged!

I got the computer going, it was already 02:00hrs, and I’ve a lot of computerisationing to do today. A day indoors again! I got this blog started, and had to make-up the graphics first, hence the long-slog, I must get some done in advance (Graphics). Ah, the blogger’s life, it ain’t easy, and even worse when the blogger is a senile, pain suffering, uneducated ailment-ridden, old dimwit!

Life can be adiaphorous, worrying, testing and pointless all at the same time. Still, I’ve got plenty of painkillers and Gleghettie tea bags in stock.

I began to update the Wednesday post. And it wasn’t finished until gone 08:00hrs. Honestly!

I put some photographs and made a mug of tea. Dizzy Dennis kicked of again.

It’s 10:30 hrs already! I did a template ready. Then went of the TFZer Facebook. Then onto the WordPress reader.

The accompaniment of the Drilling and knocking from the Fire-Sprinkler installations chappies kept me entertained. I had a look outside at the weather. Not good!

4Thu17

I made a start on this diary at long last. The attentions of Dizzy Dennis were not helping me to concentrate.

Around 13:00hrs, the wearies came on, but oddly the dizzies sort of took my mind off of feeling to worn-out. I got caught up to here around 13:50hrs and decided I just have to try at least, to get some graphics done. So, back on to CorelDrawing!

WD 200.0.0 I heard, what sounded like very close banging, and had to have a look. It was a bloke not using the either of the two bells I have, but banging on the door. As I opened it, I saw immediately that he was vexed at not getting an instant answer to his thumping of the door – this changed as soon as he saw me; “God, your looking ghost white, are you okay, Sir?” I was just starting to get a visit from Shaking Shaun, and Dizzy Dennis was still with me, so maybe I did look a bit poorly, but I wasn’t at all, just tired. He asked if I wanted him to call for an ambulance. Now I was concerned a tad! I replied that all was well, thanks. He put the box through the door, said, “You take care, old chap!” and off he went. I left the bix where it was, and went to have a look at my face, in the mirror. Hehe! Fair enough, it did look a bit unhealthily white. But I felt as I said, just suddenly so tired. Mmm?

4Thu01 - CopyI got back to the kitchen and checked the spuds and mushrooms, and put them on the keep warm setting.

Cleaned the glasses, and had another of the trickling super-elongated wee-wees.

Then to the computer, and the landline phone flashed. It was the Doctor’s surgery, to change the dosages again for the Warfarin. I thanked the lady for advising me and sat there looking at the computer, musing. ‘Well, I might be dead according to the delivery man… I can’t for the life of me remember how many Warfarins I took last night! Dizzy and Shaun were still playing with me. My fatigue was increasing. The drilling and banging was a comfort, though, I knew I was still alive every time they made me jump! I was not capable of doing the planned graphics, though. I turned off CorelDraw and got the oven on to bake the fish in.

Then felt all guilty for some reason, thinking at least I could do a couple of Thoughts or Detox Month ones. Then got CorelDraw back on. Being the hesitater, vacillator, waverer and great procrastinate I am, makes this understandable! I suppose?

I couldn’t concentrate though, gave up again.

4Thu18Got the nosh sorted. Another changed decision. I had the chicken thighs I’d nearly forgotten about. Not a bad meal, but I was too tired to appreciate it fully. Flavour-rating; 6/10.

WD 200.0.0 I turned on the TV and got a message that there was no digital input/signal found? Oh! So, I tried resetting the programs. It kept blanking out after finding a few channels? I tried again and chose West Midlands as the priority area, and a few channels were found, not all of them mind. Then hen I put the headphones on, a deafening crackling noise and pixelated pictures!

I had a checked on the internet and found this4Thu16. Well, no TV tonight then. I tried the radio channels, but they were cracking mumblings or broken singing/music. Ah-well!

I sat musing, which turned to worrying, then tried the TV again. Aha! The background noise had gone off, and eventually, the pixellating got far less.

I then wondered what I was doing anyway! I wasn’t going to be able to stay awake even if it all came good again. O chose a channel with sub-titles and fell asleep…

A dream, no, a nightmare storm ensued.

WDP 2019B0122:25hrs: I stirred, in somewhat of a bit of a puddled state. I thought I had only been asleep for a few minutes, I got the spectacles on and found I’d kipped for about four hours or so. I withdrew my excessively overweight, lardy-stomached body from the £300, grotty, second-hand, c1968 recliner.

WD 0.0.0 (1a) I grabbed the walking stick, and within three paces on my journey to the Porcelain Throne, I stubbed my toe on the hearth of the electric fire! As I was busy absorbing the pain and trying not to swear out loud,  the ‘Hum’ became more and more noticeable and loud! Grangle-Grumps and Hoggledruids! That put an end to my plan to get my head back down after the evacuation, I was physically more awake now, at least! Haha!

I got to the wet room Throne in time, barely in time again, thanks to the altercation twixt my toe and the furniture! The releasing was less painful, less messy, and quicker than recently. But a considerable amount of bleeding? Why the difference almost every time I visit, I don’t understand. It doesn’t take much to obnubilate my brain nowadays.

3Wed04WD 0.0.0 (1) I put the kettle on and moved the handwashing to above the heater. Then I realised I’d not taken the evening medications. So I did.

I had a look, out through the light & view-blocking, unwanted thick-framed new kitchen windows, and the fog was about. I took a photo, sticking my camera attached to my hand by loop, out and blindly had to take this photo, of the Chestnut Walk car park below. I say blindly; because the new window’s poorly painted black ledges stick out so far. That it is 3Wed01a physical impossibility for someone of my plump stature, lack-of-height, physical limitations, ailments and old age, and I cannot get to see out and down, through these hideously-designed windows, like the old ones that we were happy with. That was before the two-year plus, two-million pound plus modernisation. That has left me with dangerous electrical sockets. Ruined carpets. New storage heaters Einstein would not understand how to use! That crumbling new balcony that the glass fogs up to block the view, windows in it that need a masters degree, the strength of Goliath and a first-aid-box at the ready before I dare try to open them! Hello, I wandered of the subject again. Sorry!

Where was I? Oh yes, gorrit now! I made the brew and took the medications and got on with updating the Tuesday diary. Which with my being stuck indoors again all day, few photographs were taken or needed. So I got it completed fairly quickly.

I got some mushrooms and new potatoes into the slow-cooker, added some .balsamic vinegar to it. No real plans on what I was going to have to eat later on, but it had to involve mushrooms and potatoes, now. Har-har!

WD 0.0.0 (1) The EQ butted in as I got the blog finished, and I was feeling rather pleased with myself! Just a simple warning; “Something is going to go wrong, you’ve been lucky so far. Try to accept it as a natural part of your existence – it has to happen to stem any chance of Inchcock feeling any contentment! And you know how nervous that makes you feel!” A bit precise there, Humph!

The ridiculously loud ‘Hum’ was growing more emphatic than ever! It might be the end of the world coming. I didn’t think I would live long enough to see this. Not that it matters much to me, I’ve not been very successful at living anyway. Never got the hang of it, I suppose.

WDP 001 LaWD 0.0.0 (1) I was on CorelDraw, uploading the photo I’d taken, and the computer screen flickered, and the Dreaded Blue Screen came on with the message: Your computer has met a problem. We will record this and restart when the details are accrued. I fumbled to get the camera to photo the screen, found that the SD card was still in the reader, got it in the camera, switched on… as the computer started to reset.

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.0 (1) I opened things on the computer and found that I’d lost the CorelDrawings, the blog and Word notes I’d done! Crying was an option that I considered, as was smashing up the computer and suicide. But I settled for some silent, although I have to admit, hellaciously-vicious, heinous cursing! But I still wanted to cry! The EQ was right again.

I had to get some graphics done again, I had none ready in advance at all now! I was in a right furciferous mood now, and almost instantly, Duodenal Donald kicked-off, and it was most uncomfortable. I know the Peptic crap medicine is not much use, but I took a good few gulps and a Ramipril and Lansoprazole in the hopes of calming the innards down. For what good it did, I might as well have phoned for the Bank Manager to help!

So, fed-up, in pain, being driven mad by the dastardly-annoying ever louder, ‘Hum’, and in a right pee’d-off mood, I began working again on CorelDraw (Fingers-crossed!) But things went wrong, and CorelDraw was playing me up. So, I abandoned the computer, resisting the temptation to drop it down the waste-chute, and went to get the ablutionalisationing sorted.

I took a couple of photos from the kitchen window first.

2Tue30

While performing the ablutions, Duodenal Donald, suddenly departed? Most pleasing, but surprising. The session went very well, indeed. No toe-stubbings, no Sock-Glide injuries, only one shaving cut, and the dropsies were only about five in number!

4Thu06WD 0.0.0 (1) After getting freshened and medicated afterwards, I had a few incidents. I dropped the fresh-air spray can twice, the Germoloid and Savlon tubes, the body spray, and Saccades-Sandra drops! The only one that really wrangled me was when I was struggling to get the trousers on, Shaking Shaun visited me at just the wrong moment! I lost balance and fell towards the floor cupboards.

WD 0.0.0 (1) Then I had to retrieve; the toilet rolls, the Corticosteroid and Daktacort tubes, the Olive-oil and Eye drop bottles, and a load of PP’s, which I had stacked neatly in the corner, thinking they would be safe and handy to get at, from where they’d fallen on the floor! I have little confidence in the way I had got them re-stacked. Grungle-Grumps!

Hey-ho! Things could be worserer. At least I am pleased to be getting out and about, even if it is only to see the Bank Manager!

Made up the black bags to take to the chute on the way out, and got some potatoes in the crock-pot. Then, I got dressed up nice and warmly. I could see it was wet and cold outside, but the fog had lifted.

I set off, to the chute, then down in the elevator. Along the link-passage to Winwood Court lobby, and bravely knocked on the ILC’s (Independent Living Coordinators) Holding Cell, Interrogation Room and Office door! (Haha!) Sheena was in on her own, I handed out the Easter pressie treats for all three, chatted at least 12 words between us, and set off for the bus stop through the Windwood Court Social room.

WDPT02LMeeting up with Jenny ♥ and Frank, Doris, Margaret, Christine, Betty, Penny, Welsh William (who ignored me in his usual casual, but expert fashion), and some other Winwoodonians. We moved out to the bus stop, and much laughter, accusations, griping, verbal-sniping, insults, gossiping, put-downs, argle-bargle, and putting the world to rights was done and I enjoyed hearing it all. By gum, some days like today, it is a pleasure and honour to listen to the gang when they are in full verbalistical flow. I love it!

On the bus, the nit-picking continued for the few stops down Winchester Street, where most of us alighted the bus. I got off last as is usual. To avoid catching anyone with my trolley and or, being shoulder charged or trod on. Hahaha! I had a natter with Jen and Frank as I waited for the lights to change, then crossed over to the bank and entered.

WD 0.0.0 (1) Only one cashier on duty and a fair-sized queue to join. But it didn’t matter to me, I was in no rush, I had an hour before the bus to go back up the hill was due. Then the full force of Shaking Shaun and Dizzy Dennis came! With a peripheral neuropathic inspired, involuntary Neuropathic Schuhplattler drop-something and flail-about dance from the right leg was performed! I did feel a fool, right in front of many customers, the CCTV camera as well!

WD 0.0.0 (1) Luckily, there was a long wait in which I regained some control of the limbs, all bar the right arm and shoulder anyway. They were twitching away for ages, even when I got served.

WDP 1RWD 0.0.0 (1) Then the stuttering starting! The lady was short on sympathy and empathy. She got a little vexed and irked with me, I think. But she was under pressure being the only one on the counter. The line of customers was ever increasing as I struggled to get my messages across to her. Then a slightly harassed looking lady opened the till next to the one I was on and started to serve people. I didn’t actually look directly at her, but then I didn’t need to. I and my EQ sensed the daggers!

Very slowly, Shaun and Dennis began to ease off, although Dizzy Dennis stayed with me for a while longer. Eventually, Stuttering-Stephany departed as well. I handed in the cheque. Asked for some money, and explained why I needed to see the Manager, to clear up my confusion and sort out why the interest had been cancelled.

WDP 1LWD 0.0.0 (1) However, the Manager was not available today, I could make an appointment. I agreed, hoping and praying that it would be on a good day for me healthwise. So, I agreed. One was made for 10:00hrs on Wednesday 29th January. Hope I’m still alive then. Hehehe! When the stuttering stopped, the lady began to change her firm stance and obvious 3Wed14annoyance at me. She gave me a card and stapled the time and date to it. Telling me that if I can’t get at that time, I’ve to ring ASAP the number on the card and inform them. I thanked her.

As I departed, the dividing plastic protection glass, seemed to mist up a bit? I assume it was her exhalation of air, her massive sigh of relief, at getting rid of me! Haha!

I got out of the bank onto Mansfield Road. Still not feeling right, a smidge unbalanced, and stood a minute or two leaning up against the wall, and took a photo of up, then down, of Sherwood’s, Mansfield Road.

3Wed06

3Wed05I then spotted the piece of Nottinghamnian Street Art, beneath the cashpoint (ATM). Possibly an Alcoholic inspired display of an overrated takeaway meal? Tsk!

By then, I was free of bother from Saccades-Sandra, Duodenal Donald, Arthur Itis, Stuttering Stephany, Reflux Roger, Back-Pain Brenda, and Peripheral-Neuropathic-Pete! Dizzy Dennis was lingering a bit, but far less severe. I do hate it when I get a visit from Stuttering Stephany, and always, well mostly, when I am talking to someone unknown to me? Thank heavens these episodes are a rarely suffered.

I hobbled up the hill, knowing if I did go into a shop, I might miss the bus! But the craving for the Puff Pasty Fingers was too intense for me to resist them. So, I popped into the Az Local Sherwood shop. As I went in, my old mate Big John (Wayne), appeared on the pavement. It CydMargBJwas nice to see him after so long. The girls at the flats have certainly missed him. This photo was taken a few years ago. In the temporary social and wardens cabin. Happy times, but it makes me realise how much I missed seeing Jenny and Cyndy every week. Hehe! We don’t go to the new Thursday social now. I wandered off the subject a bit there! John said he’d call on me later on. But he said that fourteen months ago when I met him in Carrington. It doesn’t matter though, he’s a popular and busy bloke, who’s helped me out so many times in the past.

3Wed08I popped into the shop, with the help again of Big John, who held the door open for me to get the three-wheeled walker-guide through the narrow doorway, bless him.

I didn’t have the time to nosey around, I made for the Puff Pastry Fingers shelves and was glad to find some in stock, I got two packets. Then I grabbed a pack of tomatoes as I made to the checkout counter to pay Az. Who actually greeted me when I hobbled into the shop. Made me jump, him talking! Haha!

3Wed11Out and made my way up to the bus stop, across the pelican lights to the top of the hill. I have to say; I was in much better condition by then. The only ailment still giving me bother Dizzy Dennis, but, nowhere near as bad as earlier, hardly bothering me really, but the fact that he was still there, boded poorly for the evening. He is usually in the face or no there at all; he doesn’t often hang on like this. But hey-ho, I can cope with it if he doesn’t start spinning me. Like Prince Andrew, No sweat! Humorous, biting sarcasm sneaked in there! Hahaha!

It helped cheer me up when I got to the shelter. Jenny, Angela, Roy,  and Frank joined me, and the sarcasm’s, telling Inchcock off’s and laughter began! Meeting them, reminded me of how much I miss the old Hut Social Hour. And Roy was looking so much better today, I have been a tad concerned after his fall last week, on Mansfield Road. He’s a fighter and bouncer-backer, without a doubt! Good for him, and Angie! As are Jenny and Frank too. And me. We all are! Har-har!

3Wed012a

The bus arrived, and we were soon back at Windwood Heights. I got off last again, and with light, a not loaded trolley, I had no trouble getting off the bus. I did have a job catching up with Angela and Roy. Angela with her new three-wheeler-trolley guide, had mastered it already, as they eventually waited for me to catch up with them at the foyer. That was nice of them! They had a sit-down in the Winwood lobby settee. I didn’t want to have Arthur Itis having another go at the knees by bending to sit again after the bus trip, so said my farewells and carried on to Woodthorpe Court.

3Wed12 (2)I got in the apartment and tried to concentrate the mind on what needed doing. The first thing was, I got the computer on and added the Banks appointment to the calendar. No excuse to miss it now!

It dawned on me, how the calls to the WC had been so scarce today? Mmm!

I pondered with great assiduity and much ditherisationing on what to eat as sustenance to help keep my magnificently honed body and mentally-alert brain in good condition. (Alright, that’s enough laughing! Hehehehehe!) After deep thought, I opted to have the braised steak in gravy (boil in the bag type) for my din-dins. Then I can put the mushrooms, potatoes and garden peas in. And, maybe have a dip of bread in the gravy? Dad used to do that… when we could afford meat or gravy. A rare treat!

WDP 2019a2WD 0.0.0 (1) I got the photographs onto the computer and kept nipping into the kitchen to check the pan of mushrooms and potatoes, the pan of peas and the pan of water with the beef in didn’t overflow. Of course, it did, several times! I can’t remember ever having a meal using three saucepans and nowt else? I had to clean up almost every time I went to check the fodder!

3Wed15What an ambrosial feast!

Rich onion grave, beef, mushrooms, garden peas, new potatoes, two slices of bread, a strawberry trifle for afters, and no need for wee-weeing during eating. Flavoursome in the extreme! Add to this, the ailments, (well Dizzy Dennis was lingering, but not badly, I just hope he hasn’t taken up permanent residence!), and the ‘Hum’ dying down – and the contented well-filled stomach… I felt great! (Of course, I knew it couldn’t and wouldn’t last, but made the best of it!)

4Thu08I stayed in the chair, wallowing in a sort of satisfied, happy stomached self-contentedness for ages, then forced myself to go and get the pots washed.

It’s surprising how sharp them cheapo Wilko forks are, innit!  Tsk!

Another rotten night in which I woke-up frequently and in a disoriented state of mind. This I put down to either the wonderfully luxurious meal I enjoyed, or, and more likely; the brain not being used to coping with my having a decent day!

TTFNski!

00:00hrs: I woke deep in thought, so deep, I wondered if I’d been cogitating in my sleep? (They can’t touch you for it!), I don’t think. Anyway, the p[ondrisationing soon stoppedHehe!

I got out of the £300, c1968, second-hand recliner, and into the kitchen to take the medications, almost with ease. It was one of those, ‘Scare-Me-To-Death’ virtually pain and hassle-free wakings! Unnatural, worrying, casuistical! But I allowed myself to enjoy the situation. But not to the fullest extent; for my EQ has not conversed with me for over 36 hours now, and surely he is overdue to offer advice?

WD 100.20.0 I got the medications taken, pleased to see that I had not missed last evenings doses. Humph! And what an unreliable memoried Shlub I am! As usual, the ‘Hum’ was loud, with the odd tap-tap and gurgling noise. (Thrown in every now and then, up until 0500hrs?) Why, where from, what was making these noises, remains part of the mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court, that lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, offering illusions, delusions, & hallucinations. Exasperated sigh! I made a brew of Thompsons Punjana tea, no sooner made, than the call to the Porcelain Throne arrived. Off to the wet-room, I shuffled, and still feeling in good nick, physically.

The evacuation was the biggest ever! But, there was little bleeding or pain involved. And, the cistern coped with it! This can’t go on, all this luck! Washed-up, and returned to get the now cold mug of tea dished and a new one made. (That’s more like it!) Straight to the computer and started updating the Monday blog. As Saccades-Sandra began giving me hassle, which made the time correcting was longer than the time writing! With the mystery noises still being heard occasionally, my upbeat start to the day, dwindled!

2Tue01I eventually got the blog done and posted off. I made another brew, this time Glenghetti, and ‘blow-me-down-with-a-feather-duster’, I needed the Throne again! All went well as the first visit did. I had time to check-out the pins (legs) and took a photo. Apart from being different sizes to each other again, they looked good to me, apart from the veins.

I returned to the computer with the semi-warm mug of tea and checked the timing for the Morrison delivery. I’d got an email listing the order, and telling me there were no substitutes or short items. And it will be delivered twixt 07:30>08:30hrs. They did not mention the one-day sell-by date on last weeks mushroom, or the blown and crushed can of Daniels Coke, of course.

2Tue02I had a look outside and photographed what looked like smoke from a fire in the dark. I took regular pictures for the next few hours of the City Hospital and area smoke. I’ve put them all here o the right, earliest shots down to the last one.

I thought it might be interesting for you to see them.

I went on google to see if any news about a fire was on anywhere, but no. So I assumed it must be regular chimneys that looked worse in the icy-cold mist? Curious how the wind kept changing.

I went on the WordPress Reader. Then on the TFZ Facebooking. Then put some photos from yesterday’s trip to town on Pinterest and my Facebook page.

A third calling to the porcelain Throne came. Blimey!

The mystery noises were then joined by the drilling and knocking from the Fire Sprinkler workers. (Can’t be helped!)

Then the mystery sounds suddenly stopped altogether.

This is more like my regular, usual lifestyle now, yer know. The intrigue of not knowing what’s going on! The mysteries of unknown noises, coming and going!

WD 100.20.0 Then, as if to help me settle my worrying about these patches of good-luck, Anne Gyna started to have a go at me. As Anne grindingly twanged away at me, the workers drilling through concrete did the same! Hoggledruids!

I took an extra painkiller, cause Anne was now in a singularly bad mood with me! I didn’t want to risk overdoing the Codeine 30g, so I had a Co-Codamol. Hope it eases Anne Gyna’s temper, and give me a break.

2Tue08aAha! The intercom rang and flashed. T’was the was the Morrison’s delivery arriving. I hastened to belatedly get the return carrier bags out of the Steptoe & Son room and got to answer the door. The young man took the bags through to the kitchen for me, and I slipped him a nibble – I could have put that better; (Red-Face-Mode-Utilised) I gave him a packet of Manner lemon wafers in thanks for his help.

WD 100.20.0 I was putting away the fridge-requiring foods, and Shaking Shaun joined Anne Gyna rebellion against Inchies weak battered body! He only had a short visit, but he nearly had me over on the floor! Humph!

I got the none-foods put away, including some Duracell batteries, that claim on the label to be the strongest available. Huh, my ‘Pure’ digital radio can destroy any in a couple of days. We’ll see how these go.

WD 100.20.0 I made a start again on this post. And the landline lit up, it was Sister Jane, telling me that on BBC1, was a program about chemist now charging for deliveries, to all people not on the internet! She rang -off so I could get to the program quickly, luckily there were subtitles on it, so I could still hear if the door chimes went. But it was all over in minutes. But I did catch that Boots and Lloyds (there maybe be others) are both going to charge for delivering prescriptions. Oh, dearie me! Grungle-Grumps!

Back to the updating. But not for long, the intercom chimed and flashed again. It was Leoni, from the Medicine Management team.

WD 100.20.0 She listened while I told her of the absolute farce with Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, leaving me with no painkillers or beta-blockers for five days! And not changing the medications to loose Furesomides, as she requested six weeks ago. She rang them, but just mentioned the water tablets, not the nearly fatal, leaving me for that length of time without medications. Fair enough, I did say that they must have had problems of their own, and have been so good in the past.

Leoni heard the drilling racket noise and asked me how long the noise has been going on. I answered truthfully: “About two-and-a-half years since the upgrading of the flats started!” Telling her of the problems with the ruined carpets, showed her the dangerous state they (Nottingham City Homes) had left the kitchen in, with concrete-like foam running down the wall and over the electricity sockets etc. No one was interested. I added, “Why should they be, I’ll snuff it in a bit, and then they can patch it up ready for the next patient, erm… resident who takes the flat”, by gum she did laugh! (At this point, my EQ communicated with me, advising me that more was to come, so you’ll just have to put up with it!) She told me of the driving conditions this morning being so dangerous. We had a couple of minutes chinwag, and off she had to go, a busy gal.

WD 100.20.0 I made a brew again, determined to drink it this time. And off went the intercom. The beloved Nurse Christina ♥ had arrived, looking a little frazzled and in a rush. It must be the weather that’s delayed everybody today. She was her usual pleasant, highly desirous self, but my high EQ indicated to me, she was stressed. Sweet as always, she bade farewell and shot of to her next, no doubt eagerly awaiting her arrival, patient.

Nearly my head-down time now. But I’d love to do some graphics first. Ah, well, I made another replacement for the tea that had gone cold and started update this diary again…

WD 100.20.0 The door chime rang-out once again. (It’s a blooming good job it’s on the electric supply and not on batteries! Hahaha!) It was Josie, returning the plate cutlery and tray from her meal yesterday. She looked in good health with her twinkling eyes, but busy, no time for a natter, although we did exchange hellos and goodbyes. Bless her cotton socks!

2Tue09I never got around to doing any graphics in the end. Too drained now. I put the handwashing in the bowl to soak and got a meal prepared.

A much too large a plateful, by a long way. Why do I keep making these young men’s massive meals?

2Tue10I got the handwashing done, wrung and hung.

Then did the pot washing, washed me, and got into the night attire.

Then settled into the £300, second-hand, c1968, tatty-beige-coloured recliner, and basically faded into sleep withing half-an-hour or so, as soon as the brain-storm of fears, worries, self-criticisms and confused counter-productive evaluations had stopped.

Tsk!

XJan16

21:55hrs: Woke with only getting up and the urgent need for a wee-wee in mind. It was nothing short of a miracle that I there on time! I struggled free from the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner, hobbled to the wet room.

WD 0.0.255 I fumbled to find Little Inchy (it was cold this morning, so much so, I put the wall heater on in the wet room!), and spent a few minutes painfully releasing the long, drawn-out trickle! At last, it decided to stop! What’s going on here then? The entire wee-wee would have only filled a teacup if that! Yet, the sensation felt was one that things were going to burst forth like fireman’s hose. Ah, well!

Off to the kitchen, I limped, feeling out the ailments various moods as I hobbled along. Saccades-Sandra was not too bad at all. Arthur Itis, okay. Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, Hernia Henry and Shaking Shaun all on holiday, I think. Haha! Peripheral Neuropathy Pete was a little threatening, with the odd twinge and signs of wanting a Neuropathic Dance now and then… I had to stop my diagsasticalisationing here. Caused by a tiny involuntary escapage of wind from the rear-end, followed by an urgent need for the Porcelain Throne!

WDP 003bWD 0.0.255 I scurried back to the wet-room! Not a smooth evacuation at all. Painfull, elongated and bloody! Willing enough, but resistant to stopping! Cor blimey, I get the feeling that it’s going to be a bit of a non-compos-mentis-like, confusing sort of Monday for me! I could be wrong, the EQ was not communicating with me yet. He could be on holiday with Arthur, Henry Roger and Shaun?

1Mon02I got everything cleaned and medicated, checked out the legs. They had undoubtedly lost a lot of colour and were getting back to their usual ‘Am-I-alive’ thought-prompting paleness. One leg, the left, seemed even whiter than the right one? The lumps, blotches, blood papules etc. had dissipated somewhat? Still, it makes for a bit of interest, doesn’t it?

WD 0.0.255 I made for the kitchen again. Arghh! I left the hot water tap running! The ‘Feel-a-right-pratt’ mode was instantaneously adopted! Yes, this could be one-of-those days! I took the medications, made a brew, and made for the computer to begin updating the Sunday post. A decent few photographicalisations to sort out and get on the diary, caused me to get it finished a lot later than average.

WhoopsieI made up a photo, to show how I must have looked after I somehow or other, got the wet dressing gown to fall on me off of the coat-hangar it was drying on! I used it in the Sunday blog, but I show it again. During which, the damned annoying ‘Hum’ grew louder, and various odd creaks, taps and clicks were heard, where from, Gawd knows? These things delayed me even further in finishing the blog.

I did get done finally. Posted some pictures to Pinterest and made a start on this post. I got up to here, and then went on the WordPress reader. Then onto the TFZer Facebook page.

1Mon04Had to have a nibble and brew. I’ll have a hunt around, see worra can find…

A smoked haddock and cheese risotto thingy, some of the leaves and mini tomatoes and one-and-a-half buttered wholemeal cobs, how I came to find one-and-a-half cobs, well?

WD 0.0.255 Off to do the ablutionisationing. A stand-up job, too early to use the shower, and I want to be ready, in case the maintenance plumber arrives. The dropsies count was opposite of yesterday’s, where Sunday had the least ever, today might have been the most ever! As far as I can recall, the flannel, shower-head and Sock-Glide were just about the only things that didn’t slip, jump or bounce from my grip! But no injuries, so nae bother. The medicationalisationing ent well, and the body-aromatising too.

I got the handwashing done. Then made the waste-bags and took them to the chute.

Made a brew, and got on the computer, to make some graphics up to use later. The plumber and mate arrived before I could start.

WD 0.0.255 I had a wobbly as I opened the door, the plumber and his mate helped me keep on my feet. (Bit of good look there!)

Kindly after I mentioned and pointed out the slow filling WC tank, and blocked sink in the wetroom, he got me sat down. He got the sink taps working without any leaks, unblocked the hand-sink, and the WC now fills up quicker! Bless them! All in about 15 minutes, too! Came to me at the computer and told me what had been done. I thanked them, and he told me to stay in my seat, they’d find there way out. Caring chap, a rarity that needs emboldening in others.

1Mon05After the farewells and they had gone, and my balance had returned, I went to have a look at the work they’d done for me.

I found this tap-part in the kitchen sink? Both taps were working well. The hot and cold water taps working with a little less pressure, which will help me not to splash myself so often. Hehe! Well, they came early and were quick at doing the repairs, and helped me out with the Shaking Shaun episode. So thank you both, much appreciated!

I got ready for the trip into town to the Poundland store. Gathered the needs, then spent ages, checking and rechecking the flat for anything left undone, not done, lights, stove, windows, taps etc. repeatedly tested! Not for unacceptable Taboo Thoughts and Mental Rituals, though. My newly discovered OCD involves anxiety disorder and domestic concerns. (I think?)

So, having satisfied myself as much as is possible, that nothing had been left that is dangerous, and I had everything needed for the bus ride, I set off. With my yonderly tendencies, and athymia at a minimum, for once. Why I even found myself humming away in the lift going down! (Still no contact from the EQ – perhaps he’s deceased?)

4Thu11

I walked through the link-passage into Windwood Court, and there was Big Bill, doing a jigsaw puzzle. I had a natter, well, I spoke to him, and found a photo on the SD card of Sister Jane, supposedly putting the last piece in the giant jigsaw she was doing when I visited her last, to show him. The lack of interest was thunderous.

I said my farewells, wished him all the best, told him to take care, and went on to the bus shelter. A gang of Winwoodonians were in the Winchester Court foyer, Angela, Margaret, Doris amongst others. The ribaldry, put-downs, sarcasm and laughter flowed. Gawd, there are rare times like this that I love the place so much! And feeling rather upbeat now, I went out to the shelter, started to accept some well-intended light-hearted depreciative comments, when the City-bound bus arrived. Only one other unknown to me resident got on the bus with me, leaving a large gathering of Winwoodonian’s in the shelter, for me to wave to as the bus pulled off. The only response I saw, was a two-fingers sign, from Roy, but with a cheeky laugh with it! Hehehe!

I did well with the crosswording rechecking session en route to town. I even finished one of off, without any help! Number 83 in the book, the first one I’ve ever completed! I wanted to shout it out and brag a bit, Me! A first-time success! But there was no one the bus I knew! Hah-hah! Tsk!

1Mon05aI got off the bus at the terminus on Queen Street. Still feeling a bit high in spirits. (Yes, it worried me as well!)

The cold, low, intense, often blinding sunlight, in the dark morning promised some photographicalisationing problems for me. I took the first shot in town as I crossed over the Slab Square to Wheeler Gate and the Poundland shop. Where I had no difficulty in spending £13.75!

I amassed a selection of purchases that included, A packet of Tofiffees Naughty and stupid considering I have toothache coming on, Pillock!) Pork Farms mini pork pies, (Silly, with my weight problems!). A 75p kitchen roll. Banal fool! I must have about ten or more rolls at home! Sliced wholemeal rolls Fair enough, I needed these! Kelloggs Corn Flakes At least these will be eaten, they are a tiny size, handy for me). Dettol lavender antiseptic disinfectant. (to go with the six bottles I already have in stock!) Body spray (Huh, I must have ten or more in the flat! Idiot!) Fabric softener (Fair does, it’s cheap and smells super!) Some nibbles for the hand-out bag. A pack of six individual low-calorie pots of jelly. (Good thinking, if I can resist buying the Lemon Curd yoghourts) Finally, a BLT sarnie. (That can be had for today’s meal) So, how many things did the old codger buy that he needed, and the total of those not required? I’ll not go into that now. (Coy-abashed-Mode engaged!)

1Mon06I paid at the self-serve tills. They were busy for a Monday, and the ‘Impatient stares’, Tut-tutting and grinding teeth from those behind me in the queue could be sensed, as I fumbled a bit.

1Mon06aA lady assistant came to me in the end and whipped the last things through for me. Out and had a walk on the Slab Square. This gathering flock of pigeons. I could not see any food on the ground around them, though? The white ones could hardly be identified with the sunshine glinting 1Mon07on the settled rainwater.

I caught so trams, at the bottom of Market Street as they passed each other, one on the way out and the other inbound. I observed as I stood a moment just watching the 1Mon08Nottinghamians, that there was little smiling!

I hobbled down and up Exchange Walk, and back up to the Slab Square. There were no street artists, Big Issue sellers or any of the terrible, so-called musicians damaging any ear-holes thi1Mon09s morning.

I walked through the Exchange Arcade through to Long Row, stopping for a moment’s reflection and take this photo of the sad shopping arcade.

Many years ago, most of these units were part of Burtons of Nottingham Food Stores. I remember them being very busy, classy and high-prices. These old photographs show how things were then. The first one, all Burton’s! The second was their famous Fish Counter, nothing you could not buy there, including octopus, shark and whale meat! The third one, (They stole my name? Hehe!) a typical window display on the Long Row side. Ryvita at 1/1d – 5p in new money. Nowadays it cost £1.25!

1Mon02

1Mon09bI got distracted there again, sorry about that.

I limped back to the Old Market Square, Long Row, and took this shot of the unsmiling Nottinghamians with their pretty pink and white… trainer shoes.

1Mon09aI made my way up Queen Street, showing the long shadows of the citizenry in this snap.

Up to the L9 bus stop. I was the only person to get on until we reached the Victoria Shopping centre, where the bus filled up, Margaret, Penny and Betty were amongst them. I greeted them as they got on, but they didn’t hear me. They sat too far away for a conversation, just as well, cause the three of them nattered happily between themselves all the way back to the flats. I had a go at the crossword book again, but not much success this time.

1Mon06We were soon back at the flats, and I walked with Penny back through the link-passage to Woodthorpe Court, having a little chinwag en route.

I got in the flat and sorted out the purchases. Feeling tired already.

1Mon10Got the meal planned, then I shifted the Morrison bananas from last week, from the cool spot to a warmer one. For they were still green!

1Mon12I got some chips into the oven, the last of the Kentucky coated ones.

1Mon11Then moved some things back into the cupboard under the sink. Got the plate laid out ready for the chips. And moved the hand-washed t-shirt onto the airer.

1Mon13Then got the meal served up. The BLT Poundland sarnie and cut up a mini pork pie and added caramelised onion chutney, beetroots and some BBQ thingies on cocktail sticks.

Flavour rating: 6.5/10. I ate most of it this time.

I did the pot washing after the feasting. Then I settled to watch some TV. And didn’t fall asleep for over an hour, then bliss!

WD 128.0.128 23:20hrs: I bestirred, to find an awful lot of signs of nocturnal-nibbling around me. Then until 00:30hrs, all is recorded in yesterdays diary.

00:30: I got on the computer to update the Saturday blog, which was a sad day, no chinwags or signs of any other tellurians. But then again, with the memory-loss, finishing off the post did not take as long as usual. I soon had it sorted and sent off. With only one wee-wee needed the whole time, mind you, it nearly filled the GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket).

7Sun02WD 128.0.128 Then, I went to take the morning medications, and found I had not taken the evening ones! Tsk! The monitor supplied by Nottingham City was off the green on both sections. But being as I don’t know what humidity means, I didn’t worry.

WD 128.0.128 Made a brew, and when I went to press down the contents of the waste bin, I spotted part of the meal I thought I’d eaten last night!

I put some bits on Pinterest, then went on the WordPress Reader. Lots of good stuff on this morning. Then TFZer Facebooking.

StarbucksI got going on a funny ode that came to mind from nowhere. The incident dates back a few months. I was in town on South Parade, the rain took a nasty turn for the worse, and the heavens opened. I joined some others under the cover of the Starbucks coffee shop doorway. I was asked to move as my trolley was blocking peoples access, so, no problem, I hobbled away into the rain. I got the task done, with doing the graphics, it took me over three hours to get it something like right.

The Ode tells of what happened next. It is here: Whoopsiedangleploppery

Then it arrived, the belated call to the Porcelain Throne. A slow, uncomfortable evacuation, but not too painful this time. Minimal bleeding. And, not messy either. Quite copable with.

At last, time for a break and mug of tea. While the kettle was boiling, I opened the unwanted, unliked, impossible to get at to clean, light and view-blocking, thick-framed, window. The wind-letting-in new windows, with the sticking-out too far ledges that prevent me from viewing down onto Chestnut Walk to see if any emergency vehicles coming on-site, due to my not being able to hear the fire alarm.

7Sun02

I took one shot (left) in Aperture Priority status, the second in Night-Landscape mode

I did a Morrison order and told them of the short-dated mushrooms (one day) and damaged can of Daniels coke. I don’t know why I bothered.

WD 128.0.128 I had a jolly-decent ablutionalisationing session. The dropsies in total were, wait for this…it’s true; only four! The least ever since the stroke! Razor, carbolic soap, body spray and, unfortunately, the Sock-Glide, which ensured it hit the toes as it landed! Smug-Mode-Adopted! Yee-Ha! Oh, hardly any bleeding from Harold or Inchies fungal lesion, either!

No sooner had I left the wet-room, and the Porcelain Throne summoning returned, back into the wet-room I poddled. But nothing happened! No movement at all, it didn’t feel blocked, no gurgling, no innards-pains, just not interested. The Smug-Mode was cancelled!

7Sun03

But, it gave me a chance to have decker at the pins (legs). Aha, a change in colour, and a new blemish! I’m so lucky to have this interesting ‘leg-status’ changes every day. Just think, there are people out there, with dull, staying-the-same pins. Missing all this excitement of searching and medicating the blood-papules, Clopidogrel lumps, deep vein arterial thrombosis, spider and varicose veins! The weal’s, scars, bumps, bulges, spots, bruises, welts, contusions, blemishes, and boils. And, even now still, getting amazed at the daily transformations. I am blessed. Hehehe!

I planned Josie’s meal-making. Got the haddock & cheese ball and smoked haddock fillet in the oven, peas in the pan, tomato ready in the slicer, the crispy onions warming, sliced the beetroots and got the gin & tonic and limoncello dessert on the tray. Looking good now.

7Sun04WD 128.0.128 WD 128.0.128aI started the Back-Pain-Brenda annoying task of emptying out the shelves under the sink, in readiness for tomorrows visit from the Nottingham City Homes plumber. But didn’t get very far, for two reasons, the agony from Brenda, and the clump on the chin I’d given myself bending down to get to the cleaning stuff! Hahaha, what a clot!

7Sun05Josie’s nosh was served up, and the dishes put in the sink to soak. Making the red Leicester cheesy-mashed-potatoes don’t-half make a mess of the mixing bowl, fork and spoon used! Onto the wheeled server, and out of the door, two paces and I was ringing her bells. (Hehehe!) We had a little natter, and she handed me a tray of leaf-salad, as a thank you.

I returned to the untidy, messy flat, and got the washing up done. It took some time and effort, as usual, to get the spoon, bowl and fork freed of food and cleaned.

I got the Nikon camera in the three-wheel-walker, donned my heavy coat, and off I went to take some rooftop photographs from Winwood Court.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Despite the bright dazzling sunshine, it was bitter cold on the roof. I didn’t stay up there for too long, took a few photographicalisations and got back in sharpish! Down in lift and out through Windwood Courts entrance, to take some pictures as I hobbled down Chestnut Walk back to my beloved colder than Winwood,  but warmer than outside, Woodthorpe Court. I took a shot showing Winwood and Winchester Court, then Winwood and Woodthorpe Courts.

7Sun21

As I ambled limpingly along toward Woodthorpe, I had an aphoristic moment of meditational reflection. I would never have thought I’d end up like I have done. Alone amongst so many others, possibly many of them thinking the same.

7Sun17The plastic and metal new ticker fitted. Duodenal Donald. Cancer of the bladder and prostate. Reflux Roger. Kidney Kevin. Arthur Itis. Peripheral Neuropathy Pete, Saccades Sandra, then the stroke; Mind you, I was pretty surprised I was even here, considering the last few years problems.

There was no feeling sorry for myself or anything like that. Just a sort of ‘How the heck did this happen’ feeling. Hehehe!

As I hobbled by the Electric-Vehicle Recharging Points, I saw a funny in the situation. Why has no one come-up with electric 3-wheeler-trolley-guides? Then I realised, with my absentmindedness, abstraction, amnesia, falling-asleep at a whim, and memory-blanks; I’d only do the same thing as I used to do with the laundry washing, I’d forget all about it being on! Sad, I know, but laughable at the same time. Hahaha!

7Sun18As I got in the foyer, I spotted that someone had been ornamentalisationing! A bit of decoration for us! I made sure that I did not go near the edge of the ledge, cut of but not painted shelf and pottery. If I had a Shaking Shaun, Wobbly William, Dizzy Dennis, or right-leg Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance when close to them, they wouldn’t stand a chance of not being knocked 7Sun06over and broken! Tsk! Very pretty and easy on the eye, I thought.

I meandered up to the flat, in a sort of neutral frame of mind, more relaxed than of late.

A mega-wee-wee, wash, then I decided to get on with the handwashing. Heavy work this time, the thick jammie-bottoms, the thin (How as it lasted so long) dressing gown, a  pair of socks, and a long-sleeve t-shirt.

WD 128.0.128a Feeling unexplainably energetic, I had a go at sorting the cupboard under the sink again. But I pulled the back again, Back-Pain-Brenda kicked off, and I gave up once more. The energy drained away. Humph!

7Sun19I took the medications, with an extra Codeine 30g, to counter Brenda’s bother. And reviewed the fodder situation. I was beginning to fade fast, and opted for a simple meal of rice and garden peas, with BBQ seasoning added. Which was not scintillating, but sufficient, considering the amount of food I’ve thrown away due to making the meals too large, was more than enough. Taste-rating; 7/10.

WD 128.0.128 At least the washing up was going to be easier this time…I thought! There may have only been a bowl and two spoons that needed doing, but I had not envisaged by knocking the hanging to dry dressing gown off of the bar it had hung on above the sink! What an absolute Schmendrick!

Whoopsie

I made up this photo from memory, in the morning to go on here. Haha!

Down the wet coat came, landing on me, in the washing up bowl and getting water on the kitchen floor. I was scunnered!

Then, of course, had to sort things out. Dry my self off, then the floor and cabinets, change the washing up water and do the pots again.

And most aggravatingly, wash the dressing gown again! During all this bending, Back-Pain Brenda, got very nasty with me, de novo!

I was now flaked-out. I got in the £300 second-hand, c1968 sickeningly beige coloured, tatty recliner. There were three Ramsay kitchen thingies showing in succession that I planned to watch. Hahahahaha! No chance!

WD 80.0.0 23:30hrs: I have never woken-up so non-plussed, discountenanced, and feeling so wish-washy before in my life! (No… I tell a fib, when I came round after the heart operation it was worse!)

J-PetePostI rose from the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. The one that xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took. Then posted off his pools coupon and won a fortune, that complimented his £2010 grand Lottery win. He retired at 40, the windfall of being left £84,000 by an unknown relative enabled this. He’s a lucky lad.

A few things registered when I was on my way for the first wee-wee. The bloody ‘Hum’ all around the place, was louder than ever! Arthur Itis, Back-Pain-Brenda and Anne Gyna were all in a fantastic mood with me this morning, almost pain-free? But the mind was still a touch out-of-order, refusing to grasp things or allow me to concentrate.

The wee-wee, was, as all that followed were, of the SHLSDTAT (Starting-Hosepipe-Like-Suddenly-Dying-To-A-Trickle) variety. To the kitchen to take the medications. Brewed a mug of tea, Glenghettie, and started to update the Friday blog. Within minutes, summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived. Off to the wet room. Well, it seemed a good idea, that being where the toilet is, Hehehe!

WD 80.0.0 This session was not one of the better ones for many reasons. I’ll tell you. The blood flowed far too much from Harolds Haemorrhoids and Little Inchies Fungal Lesion, (Which incidentally, was not bleeding during the wee-wee?) The amount of evacuated product was so much, that the system failed to clear it. Admittedly, there was an awful lot of bloodied toilet paper as well. I ended up after a bit of failed prodding with the brush, having to refill the tank, twice, to clear things. Even now, I’m not sure it has all gone. The cleaning up, disinfecting, tidying things and refreshing the air, took ages. Still, it had to be done!

Back to the computerisationing. I had to make two templates from scratch, this took me well over an hour. Then there were the photographs to prepare to go in the blog. Add these to my lack of concentration, and it was gone 07:00hrs by the time I’d got it finished and posted off! Two good things, though; The peripheral neuropathy and autonomic nerves were not too much bother at all! Amazing!

I felt as if it was time to get my head down. Partly because of the confused state of mind, and the fact that I did actually feel drained. Why? I decided to give myself a break. Made a mug of tea, got some bikkies and drank and nibbled while doing nowt at all.

Well, that was a brilliant idea, Dizzy Dennis came onto me witin seconds. Thought I was going to tip out of the chair.

Back on the computer and things steadied? I went on the WordPress Reader.

WD 80.0.0 And in the middle of enjoying the TFZer Facebooking, I took a turn for the worse. Dizzy Dennis, Shaking Shaun, Anne Gyna, Duodenal Donald, and Saccades Sandra join in together to give me a scare.

That’s it for me, medications and a sit down see how I go.

WD 80.0.0 I soon nodded-off, and woke up about five hours later, around midnight. An empty dinner plate at my side, the camera between my legs, and bits of quavers on my ample stomach? Amazingly I still felt tired, but so much better than earlier, Dennis lingered a smidge, but all the other attackers had fled my body. I felt so good physically!

WD 80.0.0 I went for a wee-wee, and I needed the Throne when I got there. I think I might have visited the porcelain earlier, judging by the things, sprays, Germolene etc. scattered on the floor. The session was okay; if a little painful.

6Sat28WD 80.0.0 There were no recollections of anything really, between sitting myself down and waking up. Very unsettling. But entertaining in a way, for after taking the medications and making a brew, I got the computer going, and found the camera card in the reader? I investigated the SD card; and found a picture of a meal that I had no idea I’d planned, made or eaten? No dirty saucepans, plates anywhere. Even the tray was clean? The evening medications were on the tray in the photo, but it’s all a mystery to me. Hehehe!

I might as well laugh. Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Fri 17 Jan 2020: Got out for a hobble at last. Shame I got soaked and had a few Dizzy Dennis visits. Ah, well!

WDP 003lWD 60.25.0 00:05hrs: I stirred into mock-life, looked around and saw much evidence of nocturnal-nibbling having been committed, and pondered on my hopes and dreams, fears and worries. Then thought Sod-it. Guilty-Mode Engaged!

WDP 10R01WD 60.25.0WD 60.25.0a Then, I realised I was half-on the recliner, with the better leg hanging partly-off, and I was sitting on my left hand? After freeing the arm and hand, I found this had given me apaesthesia in the thumb and fingers. So, as I used my appendages to help raise myself out of the £300 second-hand seat, I found that I dropped back into it with a thud – and clouted my right elbow against the arm of the recliner! (Fancy that, I said?)

Personal Thoughts at the time: (were, something along the lines of), “Oh hell, is it going to be yet another day of frustrations with —-/-all going right?” I didn’t want to get up; and had to have a discussion with myself about the situation (Haha!). My EQ butted into the conversation, reminding me that there is nothing I can do to avoid further harassments and mental-turmoil, so I might as well get up and face it, I should be used to it all by now!”

So, I rose, more carefully this time from the chair gained my balance, grabbed the stick, and wandered wobblingly to the kitchen. Wondering what I was doing, who I was, where I was, and in a semi-confused state of mind. (T’was not that bad really, but my imagination took over there, sorry)

5Fri001It was eight hours too early for me to use the hoover to clean up, I thought, not that I was bothered about it. I got the kettle on, made whar will probably be the highlight of the day, a mug of Glengettie Gold tea! With the chemist leaving without tablets and medications for five days, I nearly forgot to take them. Phwert!

5Fri01No sooner had I poured out the brew, the demand for the Porcelain Throne arrived, so, off to the wet room I limped, with the stick and picking up the camera on the way, to have a view of the state of the legs this morning. They had regained some colour which was a good thing, but they were yellow!

WDPh 01RThe evacuation went okay. Sticky-messy, but little pain and no bleeding. So, fate had slipped me a teaser in there? Something to get me feeling optimistic, before the storm, perhaps? Or am I being too pessimistic? Mmm! Ah, well, I did the cleaning up, returned to fetch the now almost cold mug of tea, and got the computer on to update the Thursday blog. Which was far too long and took me five hours to complete. But, it was yet another of those Thursdays. A stomach-in-knots, tenterhook-lingering, in-a-tizzy, frustrating, delirium producing days, that went on and on with its let-downs and failures, until I lost the will to carry on! Hence my attitude when I woke up this morning, I suppose.

It’s the onslaught of the ailments, ticker-change to mechanical, ulcers, arthritis, getting shot, the stroke, old age. Senility and suffering days like the last few etc. that has turned me into the poltroon, nervous confident-less-wreck, misanthrope, worrier and prophet of doom I am today. Hey-Ho! Just thought I’d mention it. I left out losing my memory and mind. Back to the diary, I wandered off there again. Fool!

WD 60.25.0 Despite the best efforts of Mr (overpaid for the skills he hasn’t got) Fries best efforts…

Virg D brown

I got the updating finished and posted off to WordPress.Went on TFZer Facebooking. Viewed the WP Reader, and had a wee-wee of record length. No, it was! It began unwillingly and hurtfully dribbled for a couple of seconds, then gained momentum and flowed forcefully for… I don’t know how long, but it felt like five-minutes or more! Ah,-well, it made for a change!

5Fri03I made brew watched U-Tube while I drank it, with a few orange chocolate digestive bikkies.

WDPH01LThe ablutions next. And a jolly decent effort it was too! The dropsies were only about six in total. (The neurotransmitter transmissions to the brain of my synapse nerve contacting, were really the best they have been for days – of course, it didn’t last long, but was much appreciated while it lasted! [Yee-Haa!]) The sock-glide battle was injury-free! The medicating was painless, and the bleeding was to a minimum. It seemed to be going well, all foreign to me, I was a bit worried!

I got the black bags, recycling materials and glass jars sorted for taking down with me. I checked and rechecked, then checked again, to make sure I had left everything safe, and had taken all the things needed for my bus ride to the shopping (And boy, did I do some!) trip to Arnold. I hate this dithering and procrastinating undecidedness, but that’s how it is nowadays!

5Fri007cI opted to get the handwashing done, to avoid the need when I got back from the shopping. My EQ told me (and it was right) that I would be too done-in and shattered to do it then! So, it was done, wrung and hung to dry. A bit like I felt, Hehehe!

Jacket on, keys, bus-pass, cash card, money, crossword book, pen, etc. checked, bags balanced on the trolley-walker and I set off. Putting the bags down the waste-chute, a feeling, a nagging doubt that I had disremembered something, but could not bring it to mind. Very agrannoying!

Down in the lift, plenty of the sprinkler fitters about, I hope the elevators don’t go down again. Out to take the glass jars, to put them with the hundreds of empty alcoholic bottles in the green bin (Touch of jealousy here, Hehe!), and the recycling bag in the big container. The rain started to fall as I went back into the foyer.

WD 60.25.0 Innit marvellous?3Wed11 I’ve been forced to stay indoors for six days, waiting, stewing, impatiently, forever feeling iller as time went by. For the Top Three Pharmacies in Nottingham, The Carrington Pharmacy,  343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, 5 days for their overdue delivery of my prescriptions, without my beta-blockers and painkilling Codeine 30g medications, and the first time I can get out – it rains for the first time in six days!

Lucky bugger, I am!

I made my way through the link-passageway into the warmth of Windwood Court, very welcoming having a heated communal place, lovely! Called at the Obergruppenführeresses Wardens interrogation and strip-search room. Haha! We had a natter, and the nibbles and treats were handed out.

WDP 2019B01WD 60.25.0 As I was leaving, the ‘Something missing or not done’ problem was solved! I realised I had not got my mobile phone or camera with me. Crabs and Grobblecraps! So, back through to Woodthorpe Court. Up the elevator and in the flat, to collect the items forgotten by the senile elderly resident.

5Fri08Back down the same route in reverse, with a few words of self-condemnation, and thought Winwood into Winchester Court. I noticed through the window that the rain was now a lot worse.

(Well, it would be, of course, I was about to leave to catch the bus! Humph!)

A group of reprobates, no, I mean residents had gathered in the Winchester foyer, keeping dry while waiting for the bus to arrive. I had a great laugh and natter and immediately found myself cheered up. I handed out some nibbles, as the bus arrived. A sort of, a slow-motion stampede of residents, walker-guides and sticks cluttered our way out to the bus shelter. Getting well soaked through before we reached the cover under the plastic shelter, then jostled for a dry spot to stand, Hahaha! The City bus came first, and I got on the Bestwood bound one, with about six fellow-Winwoodonians.

They all got off in Sherwood, and I was the last one left on the bus. Which soon picked up more passengers en route. I got involved in the crosswording en route, with a small degree of success as well. Smug-Mode-Engaged! Along with several others, I got off on High Street and endured the shoulder charging battle to get to the pelican crossing lights first, to get out of the rain quickerer. I got there last, of course.

5Fri11I hobbled along Front Street in the rain, slowly getting the clothes soaked a little more, and somehow the precipitation had found its way into my left shoe as limped along? Surely this shoe can’t be leaking? It’s only about the third time I’ve worn them from new. Knowing my luck, I wondered why I thought that!

I had the shopping all planned. Savers, check on cleaning things prices, then Boyes next door for over the counter medications if a good price, Germolene etc.. Iceland for the tinned potatoes. Boots for the Co-Codamol, Fulton Foods for a bargain hunt, then Asda for some Lemon Curd yoghourts. That’s the plan anyway!

WD 60.25.0 Saver Store: I got to the Savers store. They had Germolen at £1, A Floella orange and lime disinfectant 99p, Deo fab at 99p and a lemon Loo-Phoo at 89p. At the checkout, I had a Dizzy Dennis and Shaking Shaun attack. The lady serving me was patient bless her.

WD 60.25.0 Boyes: A roll of small waste bags £1, Neutrodol spray at £1, Lavender Dettol £2, Foot spray £1, Yardley lemon-scented soap bar £1.25 and a Zoflora lemon disinfectant. I even had a funny turn at there checkout? But far less embarrassing.

I came out and the rain had, lessened to a drizzle. I got in a doorway and spread the load out to even the balance, using a carrier bag, the basket on the trolley, and the bag.

WD 60.25.0 On the way to Iceland, Saccades Sandra forced me to stop for a while until she cleared, so I could see correctly. A bit unnerving. Into the shop, got two tins of the new potatoes, a bag of wholemeal sliced cobs, pork & pickle mini pies and a pack of cooked meat off-cuts.

Now I was struggling to get everything in the available bags etc., so thought I hope that Fulton’s do not have any bargains really, cause I’ll not be able to resist them and be in a right state carrying them, but knowing me. Haha!

Into Boots to the counter and asked for some Co-Codamol. I explained why I needed them, as a safeguard in case the chemist lets me down again. After a five-minute lecture on not taking them for any more than three days and various advice, she let me have a box. £3.79.

5Fri12Fulton Foods: Oh dear, they had some pull-top opening garden peas. I just had to get some. Tsk! I got some Galaxy darker-milk chocolate, and a 1litre bottle of white vinegar for cleaning.

There were no funnies at the checkout.

5Fri10I had to do a bit of quick thinking then. The L9 bus was due in twenty-minutes. Asda, across the road, me wanting some Lemon Curd yoghourt, but would I get them in time to catch the bus? I hastened to the store, as the rain got a little more substantial.

Asda: Got inside and straight to the dairy 5Fri23shelves, but could not see any lemon yoghourt whatsoever? No staff around to ask. I decided to leave it. But spotted they had some rather temptingly delicious-looking blood orange dark chocolate bars, so I grabbed one and made my way to the self serve tills. I paid up and shot out as fast as my little, plump, hairy legs would let me! Up the hill to the bus stop. Where, a shoulder charging, a tut-tutting gang of people were shouldering for a position under the shelter to keep out of the rain. I didn’t take part, too risky!

WDP 03L5Fri017WD 60.25.0 A couple of busses arrived, and this cleared a gap for me under the shelter. And this is where an overgrown old man, nearly cried! Sob! I realised that in my rush not to miss the bus, I’d not collected my change for the orange bar, from the Asda till! Humph! So, I opened the bar and ate some of it! Well, I say some of it… erm… most of it. It was delicious, but me not picking up my change, took the edge off of the flavour a smidge!

WD 60.25.0 When the L9 arrived, late, getting me, the trolley-guide, two bags of shopping and the full-of-foods basket on top, was a work of art, although not quickly done. The highlight of the incident was the laughter it brought from the other passengers! Hahaha! It appears I had accidentally taken some pictures throughout the trip, these are they, that I cannot recall taking: One, possibly in Asda although I can’t remember taking the camera out in there? The other obviously on the bus, maybe in Sherwood when I took the intended one of the rain on the way back?

5Fri15

This one I meant to take. Just before we arrived in Sherwood, just past the hospital on Edwards Lane, it was.

In Sherwood, I expected the bus to pick-up some of the Winwoodonians, but nobody from the flats got on. They must have got home early to avoid the weather? I don’t blame em!

WD 60.25.0a  I got off the bus at the flats. My struggle to get the trolley down off of the step of the bus and the lid fell off from my little basket, instigated much hilarity from the other tenants waiting to get on the bus.

Anything to amuse. That’s me. Hehe!

5Fri16I made straight back to the flat. And, oddly enough, as I struggled to get the trolley through the door, the little grey lid shot off again. I think it might have to go? I detached the wire basket, emptied the trolley bag and got all the things into the kitchen. Got them all stored away, found the receipts and put them near the computer for taking details from in the morning. For I sure was too tired to be up to doing do any computerisationing now.

5Fri22I put the tablets away, after having a peek at the two-sided advice leaflet: Note please, I said a peek at, they were far too small to read. Harumph! Then I set about making a meal of monumental proportions. I don’t know why I do this? There never a cat-in-hells chance that I could eat it all! Wot a plonka!

5Fri018

I went fro a wash and polish-up. The little hobble had done the legs some good, I think.

5Fri21

I got settled in the £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV. Over the next hour, the landline flashed twice. But both times it had stopped before I could get to it. Humph!

But the Arthur Itis knees and Back-Pain-Brenda gave me hardly any bother at all. Some other good benefit, come from the hobble?

I soon nodded of after the second call, and had a long kip!

I fank You!

I was wrong!

Thursday 16th January 2020

Scots Gaelic: Diardaoin 16 Faoilleach 2020

XJan15

01:20hrs: I woke in a rather gentle, reluctant, ‘I’m not really interested’ fashion. Within a few seconds, this all changed as the rarity of my grey cells ‘memory box’, burst into activity! “The medications have to taken, and now. Despite the best efforts of Carrington Pharmacy, I had some tablets to take now!”

WDP 10R04WD 20.20.20 With temporary, unthinking, casual aplomb, I rose from the £300 second-hand, c1968 recliner, up onto my feet, and got a reaction from Arthur Itis’s knees, well one knee, the right one. I was soon back down in the recliner, holding the knee as mentioned above, and squinching with the pain. Fortunately, past experiences had made me keep a tube of the Fenbid Forte pain gel on the Ottoman. I liberally applied a dollop of to the patella. Then more slowly this time, I got to my feet, things were a lot calmer with the leg now, grabbed the four-pronged stick, and started to move towards the kitchen.

WDP 10R02WD 20.20.20 I didn’t get, but a few hobbled paces, when I had to divert to the Porcelain, at last things were moving in the innards, a little too quickly for me, so I did a bestest ever-time to get in and seated, and things started of their own accord, then half-way, everything stuck! I ended up getting the crossword book and having a bash at the puzzles. For, I knew it would be a while before things started moving again.

I’d got about eight answers in before the action restarted, and it did so very suddenly, quickly and uncomfortably! I really feared that the blood would be all over the bowl and myself. I was gobsmacked when I didn’t see any, not a speck! This was a new Throne scenario for me. I wondered if I was still asleep and dreaming?

WDP 003dWD 20.20.20 But, no, this was proven when I’d cleaned things up and turned away to get to the sink for washing my dandies, and I trod on the pen that I had not noticed I’d dropped on the floor. A little more wincing and grimacing followed. It hurt more than the entire session on the seat did! I broke the pen too! Tsk! Hey-ho!

I rubbed in some more gel on the knee and took a couple of snaps. Amazingly, they were back to the pale, colourless, ashen, anaemic, ‘I think-I-must-be-dead’ state? A few new blood-papules coming up gave it a bit of colour, mind. Hehehe!

4Thu05

What a transformation from yesterday! Transubstantiated in twelve hours?

I eventually got to the kitchen, for the critical stuff to be done, take the medications and make a brew of Glengettie Gold tea! Argh me hearties!

4Thu01I checked out the blister-packs of tablets that arrived five-days late and forcing me to miss so many doses; from Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA. Plenty of advice notes on the various medications, side-effects, contents etc. were sent with them this time. Oddly enough, all warning about missed doses!

4Thu02I made the brew and took this mornings dosages. Ear-holes oiled, Saccades-Sandra drops put in, etc. all done.

As I got in the front room to make a start on the blog updating, I heard a swift-rumbling sort of noise. I had a hobble around, convinced that something or other had fallen over in the flat, but found nothing. It might have been someone from a higher floor using the waste-chute out of hours (08:00 to 20:00hrs), but I’m not sure what it was.

I had the first wee-wee of the day, and it was a lengthy MEPP (Marathon-Endless-Painfull-Persistent) one. That would most likely be from taking the Furesomide water tablet, perhaps. After all, thanks to Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, I haven’t had any to take for five days. So I anticipate getting these painful blaster-type wee-wees for a while yet. How many days have I been stuck in the flat now? Mainly thanks to Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA delivering the medications five days late.

WDPH01R4I’d love to get out and about again. But today, the Morrison order, the window cleaner and a chance of Leoni coming from the NHS Medicines Team (I hope Leoni does visit, then I can tell her of Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA. Their late prescriptions and the Furesomide not being put separately as they had promised they’d be done!) Bitter? Me? Yes! And I still want to see the Doctor, (I will ask for some Anxiolytics, tell her about the dizzies and falling over, and hopefully other stuff if I can find the list I made two months ago), and I have to see the Bank Manager. Still bitter? Me? Yes! Well, pissed-off anyway!

I hope the beta-blocker (Bisoprolol Fumarate) starts to have some effect, the old ticker is going too hard at the moment but might calm down now I’ve had a tablet. As was expected when Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA left me with no pills for five-days! (I must stop this getting back at Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, I’ll not mention the unreliable, unsafe, untrustworthy, uncaring, dangerous chemist again! Well, I’ll try my bestest not to.)

At last, I made a start on computing. I started this blog off first. Then moved onto finishing the Wednesday blog, that contains some painful and bitter memories, I think I may have delayed it due to this. The usual selection of name-given ailments slowed things throughout. Saccades-Sandra, Lethologica Lynda, Peripheral Neuropathy Pete, the dying Nigel’s Neurotransmitters and the odd wee-wee. Which was interesting to me. Because having taken a Furesomide pill, I expected little and often releases, but they were not that many, however, all of the MEPP (Marathon-Endless-Painful-Persistent) style. Just thought I’d mention it, like.

I moved the handwashing around, some onto the airer, the shirt hung on the coathanger I’d freed by taking off the shirt I was going to wear today, and what a picklement of a state it was in! Only the second time I’ve washed this one. The first time the dark chocolate brown colour changed to black when cleaned. It is now a mixture of dark greens and yellows? Mmm? I am colour blind, though. But I thought it was on reds?

Off to tackle the ablutionary duties good-and-early, so as not to miss the arrival of the Morrison delivery.

WD 20.20.20A Another interesting event! A record amount of dropsies I think this morning. Toothbrush, toothpaste, toothbrush pot, shaving foam can (2), razors (5), carbolic soap (2), flannel, Body spray, Germoloid tube, olive-oil jar, Savlon tube, Flash cleaner bottle, bleach bottle cap (I still haven’t found that!), freshener granule pot (Bad this one, it broke and took a bit of muttered-bad-language and effort to clean it up. Still, the wet room smells nice now, Hehehe!) There may have been more.

wdp02LeftWD 20.20.20A The worst being the dreaded, prospectively lethal sock-glide! It fell from my grip when moving it, hit the deck and bounced back up again. Guess where it hit me? Between the legs, say no more, other than maybe… Arrrghhhhh! I wouldn’t have minded so much, but how the heck did it find the smallest appendage in the country to hit! Humph!

4Thu06There’s a thought, I wonder if the Tate Gallery would be interested in some photos of… No, no, No! My Delphic nature and self-confidence are at a low enough level already, thank you.

WD 20.20.20 The pins (legs) appeared to be in a transmogrificationalistic stage to me.

The veins were slowly working their way to a more highlighted-condition, I thought.

One leg was bigger than the other one again, too! The blotchiness increasing. They were even pastier and anaemic than yesterday.

And to think, a couple of days ago, I was commenting on how almost normal they were looking! Tsk! Haha!

I’ll bet a penny to a pound that they will be different again tomorrow. (Note how cunningly I put penny and pound in the opposite way around?) You can’t rely on this Peripheral Neuropathy, you know!

I was out of the wet room for a few minutes and the intercom panel lit up. It was the Morrison delivery man. He was soon up at the door, surprised that I had remembered the return carriers and had them waiting in the hallway. Smug-Mode-Engaged! He took the bags through to the kitchen for me. I thanked him and off he went.

4Thu08I got them unpacked and checked the things out with the list from the internet.

I had three cans of Whisky Cola as treats; one of them was all bashed-in and dented. Shame! Then I found the bananas were green, but they should ripen by about April, so no worry. The sliced Chestnut mushroom only had two days life on the label, and didn’t look very good at all! But was I bothered? Oddly, no!

4Thu09Something, scheme, decision, plan, or flimflam-stratagem was formulating, brewing inside my head as I put away the fodder. But the brain wasn’t letting on to me what it was! Well, that how it is when you have a high EQ and the lowest IQ. Hopefully whatever is maturing in the head, will reveal itself shortly.

The fridge was back to its usual cram-packed state, and in need of some put-of-date checks, I believe. Hehe! Without doing any, I had to dish some cooked ham, and tub of butter as I filled up the fridge.

I’d only ordered one bag of oven chips to go in the freezer. But had to dish a part bag of fries to make room to get it in!

4Thu10I must try to do some of the smoked haddock for tonight’s nosh. I already had some normal mushrooms in the fridge, so I got them in the crock-pot cooking. I might have them with the haddock, potatoes and garden peas, perhaps. It depends on when the window cleaner arrives.

Too late and I will not be able to get down to the bank or go to the Doctors surgery. It’s the odd hours I keep, you know! Head down around 15:00hrs, up at anything from 22:00 to 00:30hrs. Unless like yesterday, when I had to stay up for the five-days late prescription medications to arrive. Another thing, what am I waffling on about?

I should really be getting on with creating some graphics, I’m desperately short of any ready to use. But it’s hard to get into it knowing someone maybe, perhaps, possibly might be calling or not. But, I’d love to get out and about for a bit, having been stuck indoors, curtesy of Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA. Whoops!

Awaiting the window cleaner couple. Nope, too late for the bank now, I’d never get there in time before he leaves. Also, the Doctors visit is knackered. Also, Aldi. Lidl shopping can’t be done. Bloody good job I had the bits from Morrisons. Well, that’s six days stuck indoors now!

I moved all the things off of the kitchen window shelf in readiness for the window cleaner pair to arrive (More in hope than expectancy, now).

I decided to go down to see Jenny, taking the bag of Balsamic vinegar crisps, cause I know she and Frank love them and ask if the window cleaner had started yet. I took just the stick, which was rather brave of me (Hahaha!).

WD 20.20.20 WDP 10R03I got to the lift lobby and was just about to press the call button, and both head-lights went out indicating the death of the elevators! Well, if that doesn’t represent my unfortunate nature, I don’t know what will. Humph! Then it dawned on me, today is the upgrading work by the Mansells Fire Sprinkler team. Ah, well! A touch of pragmatism had attached itself to me, and no-hassle or annoyance rose at all.

I decided that I would just use the stairs to get down to Jenny’s! (You can see by this, that Arthur Itis was in a kind mood with me) So, off I set, slowly and carefully down the six flights of concrete stairs, clinging to the handrail, naturally. I was doing well, much better than the last time I used these steps.

WD 20.20.20 Half-way down, and the lights went out and for just a second or so, total darkness! I made the already fast-beating heart jump a bit, but I immediately recognised why; it will be the fire sprinkler workers testing things? As I mentioned the emergency lights came on, and I could see my way easily enough. If there had been fire smoke, I don’t think it would have been possible to see though, it was not too bright a light. Heigh-ho!

WD 20.20.20 I got to Jennies, rang the bell, and it was so nice to see her again when she opened the door. We had a little natter, and she informed me that the man and woman who do the windows had not turned up today. Bother! And I’d just cleared all that stuff off of the window shelf as well, Ha! I thanked her for the info and made my way (Still taking my time, determined not to have any incidents with the walking stick) back down the cement steps in the fire escape back to the twelfth floor. All went well, and I found that the four-pronged walking stick to be harder work, but far safer to use, cause it made sure I didn’t rush things, having to take an extra second or so each step, to get it firmly and evenly on the ground, but that is a good thing I thought, as long as I’m not rushing it! So, I learnt something today.

Got back to the flat, and found a letter had been delivered. My heart always sinks when I get a letter, well, an official-looking one. It was from the Medicines team, Leoni. She is calling to see me next Tuesday, 21st January at 10:20hrs. This was exciting! Oh, yes! At last, I can get a chance to tell someone who is interested, and might do something to help, about the Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA delivering the medications five days late, leaving me without beta-blockers, and failing to separate the Furesomide tablets as they promised they would do. Yee-Haa! But I mustn’t get my hopes up. Deja vu, ignis fatuus and will o” the wisp and all that!

I had to put back all the things onto the kitchen window shelf. It’s being so lucky that keeps me going!

I got the nosh cooked and served up. As usual, for recently, I made far too much than I could eat. Worthy of indistinction was the Icelands Moroccan tomatoes: Tough as leather, tasteless and unjuicy. Their smoked Haddock was also taste-free and resembled coloured cardboard! Everything else was fine. Flavour-rating? A generous 5/10.

4Thu17

The lemon-curd yoghourt and lemon Whirls mini-cakes were highly acceptable to the taste-buds!

I got pots done, then the handwashing done, rung and hung.

I’ll be locking the door for once, at 15:00hrs, and refuse to answer it if anyone arrives now, I need sleep and recuperation, from yet another harrowingly day of feather-brained thinking, let downs, failures and malfunctioning mind-meandering. That came out well, dinnit? Haha!)

An old Sherlock Holmes, 1939, with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce the best ones, was on the TV. I got settled in time for the start and watched until the first set of advertisements came on. Zzzz!
