More out of it than with it today,
Ideas and plans just fall away daily,
Logic, eye-sight, and hearing fade away.
Dementia Doreen, the brains stowaway…
Is with me every second of every day!
Even when I have a brain scan or x-ray…
Even my hopes are in disarray…
Several times today… and this sounds eerie…
I’ve not been me, but looking at me!
Occasionally this happens, & seems like cajolery,
This scenario holds traces of insanity?
I question my own humanity…
Struggling with the catheter and my cecity,
Losing track, thoughts and memory…
Now the mind-medics say ‘encephalopathy’,
I’ll look that up when this blog has gone away,
Is that owt to do with my Peripheral Neuropathy?
Encephalopathy? It doesn’t mean a thing to me!
Hehehe!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Sorry, got a lot on today – up to the neck in it,
without the ability to get the jobs done.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
First Wee-Colour Check.

2nd check. Not sure how I got the colour to look silver? Hehe!

The ankles were looking a lot betterer!

The urine colour also looks betterer!

Georges (Asda) delivered the dressing gowns.

The darned valve leaked again on the

Care Kara called, as did Carers… erm… Sam? and… Kara, Jo… maybe Josef… I’m guessing here… What a mess I’m in.

No idea now what happened for many hours. After Asda on the notepad, something about massage evacuation? A tumble? Lost memory, Mind blanks, and Bladder  problems, leaking?
Not with it at all, here, mates.

Found the George throw on the Carers chair.

Late evening nosh.
Veg; potatoes, vegan cheese and butter,
Did some baked spuds to add.
Think I enjoyed it.

Maybe got my head down earlier than usual.

Woke up in as said above ‘Agony!’ with leg cramps! Trenches and dips in both legs, the right one far worse.
After ten-minutes or so they died down, and I realised that the pouch needed emptying…
Oh, Dearie me!  acci-whoop I lost balance bending down to take the wire off of the valve – the wee splashed over the bucket… mostly on me!
Struggled to the recliner to get back upright, and first thing was to get to the wet room, to strip off and wash myself. During which, I dropped the bottle of disinfectant, and it landed…
On , on the exact spot where the nail had dug itself in! No doubt about it – I was pissed off…
I knocked a selection of the medications off of the floor cabinet… the last olive oil bottle shattered as it hit the floor! At least it missed my feet and toes! I suppose!
Back into the main room, and got disinfecting the carpet, threw my cloths in the laundry bag. I continued cursing as I got back down into the c1966, £300 pound, second-hand charity-shop bought, crumb-containing, odour-retaining, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, nauseatingly beige coloured, non-working, virus-breeding recliner. But could I get back to sleep? No!

I lay there full of self pity. A pathetic site, it must have been.
I’ve not felt this low for… well, ever before.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Good news from the man who has just cut the Lincoln CPSO’s number by over 40%, the Nottingham Police Budget by 29%, and Huddersfield by 29%
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

What a rotten, boring, painful, disheartening, depressing… but most all thoroughly confusing day for the old chap (me).
I was hairy-fairy, out-of-it-minded for most of the day. Confused… so mind numb, and forever different things were playing on my mind, worries over the great stack of letters I’ve accumulated waiting for help with them… then the computer problems; the medical situation – Two tablets ran out of, no delivery of the prescriptions or Catheter night bags for two weeks… Then fretting over the water in the wet room not running – the WD tank not refilling… well, it was, but it took 16 minutes to fill this morning, and no water was available from the tap in the sink while the tank filled, then it was barely trickled coming out… Having to fetch water in a bowl from the kitchen to clear the evacuated product and refill the tank. Anne Gyna giving more jip than ever before. I think I must have OD’d on painkillers. No nurses called, District, DVT or phlebotomy Warfarin tests for weeks now! Not wanting to eat, and that’s not me. I think I’ve had enough.

However, the urine was a much better colour today and flowed heavily at times into the Catheter bag. Sorry, but it’s been a mind-baffling day. So only boring catheter photos, mostly. The Mind-Blanks were so regular even I was aware of them after each one (I think), within seconds of returning to my condition of semi-consciousness and awareness. My attention, concentration and brain were all over the place. It does not make much sense even to me. I started so many things and veered of into others – nothing solved, of course, just got myself more frustrated about things.

Sister Jane rang me in one of my ‘dour’ moments. It was a little hard to hear what she said at times, but we did manage a little gossip about the past. I really enjoyed that. Bless her cotton socks. I do miss a good natter! Well, I miss a lot of things as well. Getting dressed and going out, health, having a belly that is not filled and bloated. A brain that worked. The ability to walk and run, especially my hobbles through the tree copse, I enjoyed nearly every day. Having hearing and eyesight. Not having PN… Sorry, I’ll shut up about my struggle now.

Of course, the brain may not, but the self-pity periods will no doubt come again. Likely when (If) I can get my head down, and either Anne Gyna or Colin Cramps – sometimes both over the last four nights, keep waking me up from my… erm, what’s it called… Ah, sleep! Then start shoving the Codeines down my throat in desperation and hope of killing the pain enough to get some rest. Even then, occasionally, the brain can be hyperactive; that’s as bad a sleep depriver as the pains. I do need help.

I can see the future headlines; “Man jumps from 12th-floor flat & lives!”

Just my rotten luck! Hehehe!

On with any bits of newsworthy idiocy and photos with inane comments- – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Why I took this, I know not. No doubt I had some witty comment in mind at the time (Whenever that was). Or… took it accidentally?

Plates of meat on the first catheter bag emptying.

Good colour; the bag needed emptying more times today than ever!.

Murky!

Still yet, the Catheter Pouch Fills – Great!

The ankles and feet swell a little, and blood under the skin?

Aha, an hour later, much better!

The right ankle ulcer starts to glow? Hehe! No pain with it. A few indentations in the flesh still. What they, I’ve not the foggiest! I suppose it’s all a part and parcel of the unaccountable mysteries, ailments, phantoms, failings and hauntings of 72,  Woodthorpe Court.

PHOTOS OF THE DAY (Un fings, like…)

The pins and plates looked betterer

Day bag soon filled, then stopped in the afternoon?

I had a natter with my family from the Manor Laboratories
in Cincinnati. Cute they are! ♥

INR blood test, tea & notepad.

Not exactly sure what this was supposed to be a photo of…
But I got it wrong again.
I’m good at that!

Afternoon sky – a bit glum here.

ODE TO GLUM
That’s an odd word, innit, Glum?…
Another odd word to me is sistrum…
Could be because I’ve just taken my Diascorium?
Whichever end of the social spectrum…
Short of dosh, gelt, pounds, yen, or ngultrum,
Have a drink, perhaps some rum?
That should help you not to be glum!

Darker now, no sign of a sunset…
Cragknangles!

The bottom field.
Not a soul in sight…
Chestnut Way car park…
Not a soul in sight.

Goodnight!

I rose, then went to empty the catheter’s wee-wee…
Stubbed my toe and muttered, “I see!”…

That is how the day’s going to be?
Walked into the door-frame, reacting huffishly!
Dropped the bucket when emptying the pee…
I swore and cursed somewhat lavishly!
Then to the Porcelain Throne, the lavatory…
The evacuation was loose and all gooey…
By Gawd, it was so sickeningly stinky!
The bank rang; rather demandingly…
Their questionnaire I’d not filled in, apparently?
She had a sweet voice, so I replied droolingly…
“Fret not; it’ll be done; you can rely on me!”
First I must ring about my upcoming urinoscopy,
She rang off, a little curtly…
I couldn’t find the bank’s letter, annoyingly…
Doreen Dementia many times presented tortuosity…
Not physically, of course, but mentally…
So I had a few hours of lost logicality…
But that’s nothing new nowadays to me.
£25 to get my toes cut, this time bloodlessly!
My brain and body often lost synergy…
Tested my patience and mental energy…
I’m not sure what that means exactly?
Concentrating brought on somnifacientity,
I fell asleep at the computer… became worry-free…
I dreamed I’d acquired knowledge & sagacity.
But it was part of life’s misleading sophistry.
I moan, and I groan… such is my sad proclivity!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Friday 17th March… That rings a bell.
Ah, Yes... St Patrick’s Day!

Cor Blimey, Flipping Heck and Fancy That!
Not good, is it?

Lovely blue hue to the morning view!

Aha, Lord Sainsbury’s delivery, you see…
Baked beans, Four bean soup, Gravy, mint sauce, mixed vegetables, chopped tomatoes with basil & oregano, porridge, and baking soda.
Fresh Kenyan garden peas, Cheese & onion pie.
Tomatoes and Parmentier potatoes.
All stored away, with the cleaning stuff.

Aha, the wee-wee looks better.

Bootiful clouds.

Then it was off to the toe & nail-cutting gal at the
hairdressing salon in Winwood Court.

Down to the main foyer, had a nosey around…

A look at the notice board…

Then along into Winwood Court through the link passage.
Called on Warden Deana with some nibbles.

Then into the hairdressing salon.
To get the toenails cut. Paid the £25,
and handed out some drinkies.
I departed, and along the passage
back to the Woodthorpe Court, I
realised I’d missed a lady off of the treats.
So hobbled back and gave her a choice.

Lost balance as I was pushing the three-wheeled walker through the apartment door. No tumble…
But did trap my hand in the door.
Not to fret, though. It was the right hand.
So hardly any pain was felt. Course, I may
feel it later. Peripheral Pete does that
sometimes, with a delayed reaction.

During the course of the day, I had visits from the following Carers;
Josie, Carer Josef (3), Carer Sam and… No, I think that’s up to now.

Visited it only three times!

Liberty-Global Virgin Media went down again.
.

Another good emptying colour here.

Then I took some sunset-less photographs of the evening sky over the next ten or twenty minutes.

An eerie side to this one.

Each one was worthy of some pareidoliaing!

Amazing!

The ultimate pareidolia one!!!

Oh, a break in the clouds!

Going to get some cooking done now.
Back in the morning…

I’m back!
Imitation lamb hotpot. Added some lamb, mint gravy, and too many potatoes from the oven, and I got stuck into it.

Flavour rating: 702/10.

Carer Josef arrived. Medications sorted.

Zzz!

A lot better colour this time.

Murky kitchenette.

Junk room.
Oh, I mean the main room.

The massive hallway.

This is the offending, oh, so painful right foot bottom.
Where the yellow circle is, denotes where the pain is coming from. Despite Carers, two nurses, and three paramedics taking a look at it, they had no idea why I was in agony with it.

Chair, vacated by the morning Carer after giving me the medications nada checking the catheter. Checked the taps and stove; bless her!

To hate left from the kitchen window.
And to the right…

The urine is a bit darker now…
Flowing suddenly, and the bag is filling quicker than usual.
A good sign… I think.

Sun out occasionally, no warmth with it mind.

Sun is out for an hour or so. took another shot.
Bootiful sky!.
Nice!

A decent-looking meal?.
It was crap! Either my insides,
Taste Buds, or whatever?

A sadly short sunset breakthrough…
Went down so quickly tonight.
Farewell…

I was still chesty and coughing.
The foot & Catheter hurting.
Fell blissfully asleep…

Carer Richard woketh me and sorted the Catheter Night bag.
So tired and can’t remember much more…

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Today was possibly, maybe, perhaps, conceivably, feasibly perhaps, I imagine, I dare say without too much doubt (although this may be debatable), it is plausibly my worst day since being born, then years later, finding out from the midwife that mater’s first words and action as the accoucheuse lady handed me to mother in a bloodied pillow slip.

This is Genuine; Mother also admitted it years later.
Telling me that she took to me later.

“I don’t want it; throw it in the Trent!” Then dropped her fag ash from her Park Drive all over me.” Not one of the best starts to life, but now I’m nearing the end of it; it dawns on me that nothing seems to have changed?

Ah, life’s been good to me”

Not much of Diary again, sorry. I even had a roughly three-hour spell of total memory loss, a Mind-Blank, if you like. Mind you, when I came back into ersatz reality, the sunset was just starting, and I spent about two hours photographing the sun and skies… I’m just addicted to the beauty of it. Not a lot I can remember, my scrawled notes are not of much use, I’m afraid.

Anyway, here I go…

Up around 06:15hrs, and realised that the need for the porcelain Throne was due. I got the night pouch off of the .
Hastened to the Throne and a messy job it was again.

To the kitchen to take these three terrible photographs of the view.

Sorry about this…
Not good at all…

Made up the waste bags, a brew and Carer Jozef arrived. He was obviously running behind and wanted and or needed to press on with his rounds. So I did not engage him in any gossiping. Nice lad.

Made a start on updating yesterday’s blog. The pouch was filling up and needed emptying a few times more than usual… but every single time I bent down to open the valve for emptying, I went light-headed, and Dizzy Dennis paid a visit. This went on all day and is the same now at 23:00hrs

Then, the mind blank arrived. Not the foggiest memory, but a Carer had been and signed the log… who or what happened? I know not.
Also, my little finger was hurting and the left side of the jaw too???
A tumble? Had I walked into a doorframe again? Mmm?

I remember Carer Caroline arriving, and I found out that I’d not given her a torch, so did so. Lovely gal!

Things came back as normal as they can be for me around sunset time. And boy, did I get fascinated by the changing sky… Yes, I did! Hehe!
Here are all the Sunset photographs I took; I think I spent ages, with a few interruptions:

First shot

Clouds move all the time…

Sun lowering…

Coming through…

Nearly through…

Took a close-up

Getting brighter…

Ah, the colour comes…

Darn it! Had to go empty the pouch.
Got back in time to catch these beauties…

Wonderful!

Wider shot…

Picturesque…

Globble-rots, off to use the Throne again.
All changed again…

Awesome, the sun is not gone yet…

She has now, but she was still lighting the clouds…

Grrreat effects!

Daunting…

Hello, the sun’s showing again?.
How does that work, then?.

Outstanding!

Another change? I love this!

Mother Nature…

All gone dark… but not for long….
Horison lights up?

The strip narrows.

Then goes…

The high sky goes grey.

Horizon strip white…

Well, a bluey-pink. Hehe!

Nightie-night…

Hello, hello. Can you see this?

I do believe I’m just seen and taken a shot of Jupiter?

Putting the camera away, Carer Richard came in.
I’ve missed the lad. He seemed in a decent mood and looked better than he did last week, I’m pleased to report.
He said he’d change the day catheter in the morning and then add the night pouch to .
I feel like I spoke a lot, but can’t recall what about some sort of moaning, most likely. Grumpy Old Men do that!

I had a handful of fries done in the air-fryer, then a pot noodle with tons of seasoning in it. Dunked some bread in it.

Sleep came easily…
As did the shooting awakes with a jerk!
HUMPH!

It’s a secret even to me; half of what occurred, happened, went wrong, took place, or I did. Confusionalitis at its finestest!
Thank heavens for the photos. The following is not in chronological order; this is because my brain isn’t. Hehe!

One light, one dark leg and foot.

First photo of the day.

I now not what is was taken for.

Afternoon shot. As you can see above…
The lowest BP ever taken!
