Inchcocksi – Wednesday 15th July 2020: Chinwagged with Penny & Francis today. Yee-Ha!

Wednesday 15th July 2020

Samoan: Aso Lulu 15 Iulai 2020

3:30hrs: Woke ready for a wee-wee, wriggled out of the recliner, wobbled to the wet-room, and yet again, and needing the Porcelain Throne just as I got inside the room! It’s been like this for several mornings, I think.

I was well pleased with the evacuation. Terribly pongy, but so much less painful and messy.  Could this turn out to be a better day for me? I had a decent day on Saturday, August 28th, 1959, as far as I can recall. Hehehe!

I collected the overnight emergency bucket on the way to the kitchen, it had hardly been used. Got it cleaned and sanitised, made a brew of Extra Strong Assam tea, and took the blood pressure on the machine.

Creeping up a bit, the SYS again. My body temperature was showing as just ‘Low’.

The view, as seen through my eyes, was so beautiful this morning. But it didn’t transfer to the camera picture so well. Humph! I didn’t notice at the time, but I must have moved the selector on the Canon camera, and it came out a different size and shape? I wish I knew why? Hehe!

I got the tablets out, and shock of shocks! The Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, Telephone number: 0115 960 5453, just up from the Lidl store, had kept up there letting me down routine again. They had started to put the Furesomide in the pots. This after the nurse phoned them and explained my problem with this. As when they do, I have three tablets that all look alike, and get confused. The Furesomide are on an as-needed dosage. The Beta-blockers (Bisoprolol Fumarate) and Codeine 60g all look the same to me. They said they would leave the Furesomide out of the pots and send a packet. Which, after two months they got around to doing, now they have gone back to causing me more worry, by bunging them all together with the other tablets! They really must hate me!

My Xyrophobia suffering, over-amour propred Brother-in-law Pete, when he was searching the flat while I was in the hospital with the Stroke, and taking my valuables, and he took a rest. Fatal! He could not resist playing with the electrics of the recliner. Out came his screwdriver, that he’d used to open my cash drawer with. Now the recliner no longer works… Where was I? Oh, yes! He sent an email with a photo of what the Hospital gave him after his pet scan yesterday. Here it is:

I had to laugh! I made this graphicalisation later for the lad. Hope it cheers him up! Hahaha!

I made a start of getting the pictures loaded into the computer, and updating yesterdays blog. With Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley being active, and Anne Gyna stinging away on her tour through my too titanic-sized torso, it was a bit of a grind. At one point, when Saccades Sandra joined in giving me grief, I’m sure I was doing more correcting than typing. Frangleklops!

I stuck at it, like the hero, and good-little-lad I am, and about three hours later, I’d got it finished and posted off to WordPress.

I hastened to get the ablutions tended to (no shower, too early in the day), so I can be ready, in case the Iceland order arrives earlier.

Yet again, as I entered the wet room, I suddenly needed another Porcelain Throne usage! Getting a bit too regular this is! However, this effort was even betterer than the first one! A bit messier maybe, but less painful by a mile!

The flushing had to be done several times, though. And some hand filling of the tank with water from the sink. Schluberduberski!

The very gentle teeth cleaning was not too bad on Toothache Thomas this time.

The shaving had just two tiny cuts. Countless dropsies of the razors, it seemed like they had a life all of their own today! Tsk!

The medicating (I’ll not go into detail here, it was bloody and messy), was one of the worst sessions for weeks. I left the wet room, with stinging from Harold’s Haemorrhoids and Furuncular Franks boils. And Little Inchies fungal lesion was plain agony!

I got sprayed and after-shaved etc. and dressed, and off to the kitchenette to make a brew and take an extra painkiller, cause the lower regions were a bit tender.

Got on the computer, and a half-hour later, the intercom burst into life. It was my Iceland delivery arriving. The young man put the bags through the door for me as I stood back away, social distancing, you know!

And fell over the bloody three-wheeler trolley! I had to stop the man from kindly coming in to get me back up. Best to keep a distance. I told him he could catch anything from me, let alone Coronavirus. Hehehe! He did larf! He waited until I’d clawed my way back onto my feet before leaving. Bless him. Gave him a G&T in thanks.

I took the bags through to the kitchen and unloaded them. For once, there was a printed shopping list with the food, so I checked things were all there. Spot on! Got the fridge filled, although not as full as last week, cause I been using up some tinned stuff lately.

I’d treated my self to a box of Chinese Style belly pork slices. They are not cheap, but I think these were the one I tried the week before last, and I recall putting some Hoisin sauce on them before cooking, I intend to try again today.

I’d got some of the so-called (imitation) Jersey Royal potatoes in the slow cooker straight away. They were far too large, I got six potatoes only in the bag. (Two of them were mouldy!)

I’d ordered some green and red seedless grapes (I assume), which was a bit silly of me because they do not keep long. I’d had alternate for a few weeks, one red then one green. Egyptian they are, not bad at all, but soon shrivel up. I meant to ask Jenny if she liked them, so she could have whichever one the gal fancies, but when she called later, with a bottle of antiseptic disinfectant for me, Bless her cotton socks! And I forgot to ask her what a plod! I’ll try to remember to phone her later.

Blow it, I’ll phone the gal now. Yep, Jenny likes the grapes! I’ll take them down later.

I made some updating to this blog. Checked the potatoes, but they were so large, they were nowhere near cooked yet. Then I got the black bags sorted, and took the grapes down for Jenny and Frank, and the glass jars for recycling down to the bin outside. I hope the lift doesn’t mean I’ll be back late, I’m never confident with leaving things cooking, even in the crock-pot.

Back in a bit, I’ll take the camera with me.

Well, that was a struggle, but well worth the effort. I took the black bags to the chute first, when I eventually got the trolley out of the flat door. The bruised knuckles are all part of the everyday life in these flats. Hehe!

A decorators stand-thing was in the way of the chute-room door, gave me a bit of bother passing and to get around, but I did alright, no accifauxpas! Then I had to wait a good while for the residents lift. Down to Jenny’s floor, left the bag near her door and pressed the bell button. Back to the lift lobby, and another little wait to get down to the ground floor. I heard a voice shout out, that I assumed was Jenny, and shouted back my greetings.

Got down on the ground floor, and steadily made my way out, and round to the recycling bin. It had been emptied. I had a minute natter with the caretaker, which cheered me up, having a laugh.

I made my way back in through the lobby doors, and Penny saw me coming and opened them from inside for me. It was such a pleasure to talk to someone and have a bit of fun.

I took a snap or two, of the Art Decor styling of the lobby. Haha!

Gossiping with Penny, and Francis joined us, and we all had a giggle between us. Perked me right up that did!

I took a snap of Penny and Francis near the laundry room door. Beautiful gals!

I got back up to the flat in no time, mainly because Francis told me to get in the lift first. ♥

Got in the flat, a cheerier person than I was when I left it!

The INR result form had arrived while I was out. 2.3 it read for the level. I checked on the potatoes, still not cooked, but they were coming on.

Updated this blog again, then went on Facebooking.

Then on CorelDraw to get some graphics done. Well, got one done! Humphski! Then closed everything down.

I got the fodder prepared.

The big Jersey new potatoes from Iceland left after removing the bad ones from the bag earlier, left me with a more than adequate four. Along with some horrible so-called Iceland ‘De-luxe tomatoes’, which also had to be carefully selected as I threw away the mouldy, soft, and going black fruits away! Humph! Then added some gherkins, canned garden peas, beetroot, onions, and the much anticipated Chinese style belly pork, cooked with some Hoisin sauce spread on them. For afters, some Iceland brand, Egyptian red seedless grapes – again, throwing away some mouldy ones first! Tsk!

And two buttered Devon Scones from the Iceland order. These scones are deserving of individual attention and note: As a warning to others who may be tempted to buy any.

“Inchcock’s Sconal Warning!”

Iceland sending tomatoes and potatoes that were below standard, mouldy, and had to be sorted through to remove the bad ones before eating, is nothing new. It’s all part of their usual service. So, not worth going into, it happens almost every order I have delivered.

But these Devon Scones, the first, and last time I try these. Hard, dry, and despite my overloading them with Lurpak butter spread on them, were dangerous! If I’d dropped one and it landed on my foot, it would probably have broken a toe! Hehehe!

The meal was given a taste-rating of 5/10 only. The tomatoes, scones and slow-cooked for eight-hours and still not done enough, large Jersey potatoes, kept the score down. The Chinese style belly pork, were greatly flavoursome, though.

As for what happened after I’d washed and got settled, and the Thought-Storms were followed by the dizzies; it’s all a mystery to me. Just a blank-spot in my memory,  (I think)

But I do remember waking up, so that was good!

Inchcock – Sat 16 Feb 2019: A daunting, discouraging, and enfeebling day! Humph!

Saturday 16th February 2019

Swedish: Lördag 16 februari 2019

02:00hrs. When I woke up, it became apparent that I had either died or was still asleep! For there was no throbbing from the leg wound, and Duodenal Donald, Kidney Ache Kevin, Arthur sure, and Anne Gyna pains were all absent! Almost instantly on this realisation, the desperate need for a wee-wee arrived.

Then things got back to normal. As I started to choreograph my tactics to free myself from the delightfully snug environment of the £300 second-hand circa 1968 dilapidated, ramshackle rusty recliner, the pains returned, the moment I moved my first limb, in this order; Kidney Ache Kevin, the ankle wound stinging and throbbing, then Anne Gyna kicked at me.

Attempting to stand up, the left foot heel pains, Arthur Itis’s ridden knees, and Duodenal Donald joined in with the unpleasant actions from the other ailments. This habituated things back to normal, and I was sure now that I had indeed not died, nor was I asleep dreaming. In fact, I was getting a touch nervous about the lack of pains.

But there was no time to ponder over the situation, as the demand for the wee-wee was growing in severity. Luckily, the disinfected Emergency Grey Bin was only a few feet away, and this was a good job too!

WD 0.0.30A I tore the jammie cord from its stitching as I hastened to get things in position for the urinational duties! But still failed to avoid some overspill! I removed the jammie-bottoms and put them in soak with liquid-soap-flakes and Dettol disinfectant. This first release of the day was of the fierce LHBLWW (Long Hosepipe-Blasting like Wee-wee) class. All following wee-wees were of the lesser harmful SSDWW (Short-Sensationless-Dribbling-wee-wees)

I mused a moment: Surely I must be due a betterer day soon, I pondered. Then I burst silently into singing ♫ Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside, oh, I do like to be… ♫ Why? I’m not certain. Mental derangement, insaneness, dementia, lunacy, asininity, stupidity, old age, drug-induced dottiness and delirium, delusion, illusion or psychosis? Who knows. But, I am sure that the good days of having a short-term memory and a degree of logicality and decision-making abilities are now irredivivous. Tsk!

I got the kettle on, and once again, as I did so, I had to divert to the Porcelain Throne. Another Trotsky Terence like-evacuation. Leaving a possibly even more gross after-aroma than usual behind.

I got the Health Checks, and medicationalisationing was done.

6Sat09

6Sat08The readings looked okay to me.

Gobbled the tablets and medicines, and then had another SSDWW (Short-Sensationless-Dribbling-wee-wee).

I set up the computer ready to start the updating of yesterdays blog, and the oddest of sounds were heard. Rather like wind coming from a released balloon? I had a look around 6Sat06everywhere, but could not find the reason nor source of the sound.

I even got the stepladder and had a look outside.

The sky looked so different from all the clouds up there, so I took this photographicalisation of it. I can use it a backdrop for a Thoughts graphic later, perhaps.

6Sat03I had a check of the pins while I was in the well-lit kitchen.

The wound was itching away again, but no pain, unless I scratched at it or banged it against something. Although, the feeling like there were worms under the skin was annoying and the devil’s own job to resist scratching at it!

Back to the computer and eventually got the blog finished and posted off. Then went on the WordPress reader. Then onto to TFZer Facebook site.

Made a start on this post up to here, and got some brekkers.

Made up one diary page topper on CorelDraw.

6Sat30WD 0.0.30A I took off the plaster from the wound as instructed to by Obergruppenführeress Nurse Ann. There were new growths beginning to come now, as whatever infection the wound is on the lower-leg, makes its way creeping all around the leg now. Tsk!

Had a right dizzy turn, so I turned off the computer and just sat down with my leg up. I fell asleep.

WD 0.0.30A Not so good, now. Although the wee-wees were getting fewer and further between, I was in a pickle with the Dizzies coming regularly, even if for only a few seconds at a time. Felt so drained and I’d done nothing much? The wound was demanding to be scratched, itching and now stinging, and then Little Inchies fungal lesion started bleeding. Then, when I tried to walk, pains from the wound began to make me tense up and more fed-up!

6Sat29I was letting the situation wrangle-me, and I did not like that, getting all sorry for myself.

So, I made a sandwich and some potatoes, for the nosh, although I didn’t feel too hungry at the time, I did eat it all up. Not that there was a lot of it.

At least now that the plaster had come off, I could get a shower.

WD 0.0.30A But, no! Guess who had left the hot water tap running when he put the dishes in the bowl to soak, and now has no hot water!

I watched a 1959 film on Freeview channel 81, and even more annoyingly, fell asleep and missed the last section of the movie – really depressed with things now! Worran horrible day!

Inchcock Today – 30-31 August 2017 – Thursday Tenants Social Hour

End of Wednesday 30th August 2017

Croatian: Završava u srijedu 30. kolovoz 2017

I started to assemble the new saucepans and got the fodder in the oven. Halved cooked potatoes (in the crock-pot) with cheese added on top of them and two potato pockets with cheese inside, and into the oven.

Obergruppenfurheress Warden Deana called on me to check out if I had done the monthly Wrist Alarm battery checks. I reported that I had. (I don’t think she believed me judging by the semi-concealed obliquely sideways glance, masked with a well-practised but attractive smile, I gladly accepted in return to my statement.)

This gave me a chance to get rid of the sauces, Peri-Peri pot and bits that I had ordered while apparently in a stupor, dizzy spell or moment of madness. Hehe!

Another Whoopsiedangleplop while turning over the potato pockets in the oven, I’m sure the blister will go down soon. Antiscepticated the digit with some Germolene antiseptic cream. Now some more of that I should have ordered from Morrisons! Hehe!

The door bell chimed again, and there was me walking about now with no trousers on, limping more than ever due to the stubbed left big toe, no hearing aids in and passing the wind rather freely! Hoping it would not be Deana, cause she lets herself in if the door is not locked. I gingerly partly opened the door and popped my head out to investigate. It was the chap from next flat to one, wanting to know if I had a five-pound note in return for coins. I fetched a fiver, and we exchanged currency. Couldn’t hear what he was saying actually, but he is an easy chap to lip-read, and waving the coins at me, I followed what he wanted, I hope. Haha!

Back to the kitchen to dish up the meal, but it was not ready yet, the cheese on the potatoes needed a good while yet to turn crispy and brown as I like them. I did the Health Checks: Sys 154 – Dia 72 – Pulse 78 – Temp 32.6.

Served up the meal. I had some of the Smoked Mackerel in barbeque sauce with the other fodder. No bread needed.

I had made too much, yet, ate it all with great satisfaction. The reason for the two lemon yoghourt desserts was my overstocked situation and short ‘Use By’ dates on them. I could have given Obergruppenfureress Deana a packet of them, but never thought. I’ll take some down to her and Obergefrieteress Warden Julie and put them in their fridge at the Social Hour in the morning.

The usual falling asleep and waking up ensued – but this time, I could remember a bit about one of the dreams – Not a lot! As Paul Daniels used to say. I was master of earth it seemed and was looking down on the planet from wherever and picking areas out that needed to be eliminated? Scary!

There was a lot of noise coming from above again; I could not identify where from or what was making it correctly, but it was annoying late at night, so it shouldn’t be workmen unless someone has had to call them out for an emergency?

Thursday 31st August 2017

Spanish: Jueves 31 de Agosto de 2017

0430hrs: Stirred in the £300 second-hand recliner, taking in the lingering aroma of the night’s involuntary passing of the wind, it was not nice. I started to scratch at the base of the neck; something was not right here. A flaming hard place for me to get to, to put the cream on! Nothing pedicular I hope? Later, it spread around the neck to the chest and shoulders? Seems to be taking an anfractuous route wandering around my body? Ah, well.

Dismounted the recliner, the stubbed (Or whatever) toe still painful, and into the wet room for a Porcelain Visit. Things went well, all in all, apart from the new  Itching Ivan ailment, only Duodenal Donald was bothering me enough to be of any concern.

So I took an extra Omeprazole capsule with medications.

Health checks were then done: Sys 148 – Dia 67 – Pulse 82 – Temp 30.8 and Weight 14.84.

Got the computer on and updated this diary.

Checked the Emails: Sister Jane sent one granting me permission to visit her on Friday.

Naturally, I replied thanking her for the most gracious granting. Hehe!

Went on Facebooking. Then WordPress reading.

Did the ablutions and had a wee-wee – no injuries to report. Hehe!

Gathered the raffle prizes and box of nibbles and off to the Temporary Social Hour Hut.

Got down to the foyer, and returned back up in the lift to the apartment to collect the hearing aids. Tsk!

Down again and hobbled to the hut, and was greeted with “Oh, he’s here then!” from Frank, they do like a laugh. Not many of them in attendance again this week. I should think about 15 or so. I put the raffle prizes on the trolley and handed out the nibbles and the lottery tickets when I bought them. Very quiet in there today?

I pondered on whether to catch the early bus, this will mean dashing off shortly, or waiting until after the Social and get the later bus. Being as Hilda Hips and Duodenal Donald were both in a bothersome mood, I decided to leave early. The atmosphere was a little group-like and unforthcoming, almost standoffish, anyway. I wondered if I’d missed something, or was it my deeds? Had I unknowingly committed a distasteful or misanthropic act?

I departed to the bus stop and had a few chinwags and laughs with some tenants. Bill from the 11th floor was in good spirits as we nattered en route to town.

The Sky brightened up as we went along Cranbrook Street.

As I got out of the seat ready to alight the bus, Dizzy Dennis’s hassle got worse I’m afraid.

When I did get off the bus on Upper Parliament Street, things seemed a bit bleak as I struggled to keep my balance.

I leant up against a bus shelter for a few moments, and things improved a lot, and I set off up the road and across into the Boots the Chemist store. I wanted to get some of the eye anti-irritant sprays. At nights I’ve been using one, but it has now run out, only 10ml contents and very expensive. I investigated the prices and range on offer.

The Optrex ones were over £16, the Boots one £12.49, still a lot, but they do help at night with the sleeping, I’m sure. I just hope these work, as well as the Optrex one, did.

As I left the store into the main mall, I took this photographicalisation above. Much later when I was setting up the update to this post, I saw something in this picture that seemed odd, out of place and luminescent almost. Weird! Can you spot it?

I called in the market there to look at the shirts the Afghanistani stallholder chap had on offer.

Then, ambled along to the Tesco store and bought some tomatoes, fresh garden peas and vinegar.

Out and over the road en route to the City Centre to take some photos. Passing the Little Waitrose store, I saw a lady coming out with some Marmite Rice Cakes in her bag. This reminded me that Sister Jane loves these, so I popped in to buy some for her if I remember to take them with me on tomorrow’s visitation to see Fooey, Jane and Pete.

Limped to the Slab Square and took these shots.

I noticed some Nottingham Street Art on the way.

The people around all seemed in a rather unhappy mood for some reason? Even the kids on the beach appeared to be a little less happy than the other day?

I espied a glass (Or whatever it was made of) figure of a horse in a window. I thought of the TFZer gals, one of them mentioned statues like these a while ago.

This photograph does not show the price ticket, so I thought I might use it as a ‘Price Competition’ on their site later?

Usually, I cannot appreciate this sort of art, but this one appealed to me – until I saw the price! A clue I can use, although it would mean nothing to me; Circa 1960 it said on the label. About 12″s high it was, maybe a little more.

I made my way up Queen Street to the bus stop, and sat down, knowing that this irritates Hilda Hip and Arthur Itis when I have to get up again, but I suddenly felt so tired. Now here, I had a fantastic bit of help from a kind generous natured lady, who woke me and asked if I was waiting for the L9, as it is here now! Yes, a right Whoopsiedangleplop that could have been, if that kind lady had not noticed me nodding off, bless her and a million thanks!

When the bus got on a bit further, May got on the bus. We chatted, and when we arrived at the flats, I was able to assist with getter her trolley off of the vehicle.

I had a job keeping up with her, though. Hehe!

Indoors and to the wet room for a wee-wee.

Then a plan was formed for today’s meal. I got some potatoes in the saucepan with the Polish herbs added to them, shelled some garden peas and added brown sugar to them. When the potatoes are boiled, I itnnd to strain them, and slice them, add strong shredded cheddar cheese on top of them, and get them in the oven. Have some tomatoes with them, with balsamic dressing? We’ll see.

Started (Between wee-wees) to update this diary.

Went in to repeatedly check the fodder, and leant out of the balcony to tak this shot ofthe kids on the park up the hill.

Prepared the side food and got the potaotes sliced, cheesed up and in the oven on a high heat. Sliced some yellow peppers and put a ring on each potato half.

The meal was wonderful, and despite Duodenal Donald’s attentions, I enjoyed eating it.

No more Dizzy Derek and Anne Gyna was so kind, too.

The things for the morning’s visit to see Jane was sorted and in the bag ready.

Must get the laundry done before going as well tomorrow.

The nodding off’s were remarkable by their absence? I nodded off once and didn’t wake until 0330hrs, slept straight through!
