Croatian: Subota, 26. siječnja 2019

23:35hrs: I woke with memories of a dream reasonably clear and lucid in my mind. I grabbed the notepad and scribbled down some prompters to use later. (Later, I made up today’s Inchcock’s Thoughts graphic using these notes. Not word for word, obviously, but the train of the Grim Reapers words were similar to how he spoke to me in the dream!) I thought the Reaper looked a lot like Jeremy Corbyn.

wd 0.0.30 An instant need for a wee-wee arrived. With great difficulty in holding back the imminent flow and getting free of the £300 second-hand recliner at the same time, I got myself upright and made for the grey emergency tub in the corner – Calamity! It was not there! I’d forgotten I moved it yesterday when the workers arrived. Oy Vey! So, having gone all through my dream-filled sleep without taking a wee-wee, you can see how desperate things were now! Oy gevalt! Panic set in, but I had a sense-of-mind to make for the WC and not waste valuable time searching rooms for the grey bin.

Alas, I was too late all the same! I now have clothes soaking in disinfectant and soap powder in the green bucket. Humiliation and Shame Mode adopted!

All washed, and in another pair of jammy-bottoms and embarrassingly, a new pair of protection pants, I went to get the Health Checks done. I got out the sphygmomanometer and accoutrements required, but could not find the Enoxaparin hypo that had been moved in the workings yesterday! I sensed things might not go so well today, and adopted a ‘Sorry-for-myself-Mode! Hehe!

wd 0.0.30 Then the call to the Porcelain Throne arrived. A messy evacuation and some bleeding from the front and rear this morning. Somehow, I just wasn’t surprised in the least! Rewashed the dandies. Then back to the kitchen and searched for the missing loaded needle. No luck yet. But I did find the grey bin. Humph! Did the Health Checks.

5fri001b

6sat02The Sys was a bit lower than it was yesterday but higher than it should be methinks. Again, not surprising me. Tsk!

wd 0.0.30 I took the medications and needed another wee-wee. This was of the SSPWW (Short-Sharp-Painful-Wee-wee) variety.

Back to the kitchen and made a brew of tea.

The flipping left ankle gave way again on the hobble to the computer. I felt as if the ankle was going to collapse into the foot, but it didn’t, of course. Hello, the sneezing has started again! Humph! Fed-up? Me?

6sat08wd 0.0.30 I went to check the legs over, they felt like they are filling up again. But this photo doesn’t look like they have done so from yesterday? There are once more some new bruises and blood papsules, though?

These Possible Furosemides side effects are so many, I wonder if there are any psychotomimetic ones? Hehe!

I went into the kitchen and took these photographicalisations. The precipitation was light, is was evident that it had been falling all night, but it helped the downward picture to have a certain quality about it.

6sat07

Another SSPWW and I got on with updating the Friday post and got it sent off to WordPress.

6sat11One more SSPWW, (Got splashbacks with this one, Oh, dear!) and I made a start on this blog, getting up to here with it.

Then the thoughts of breakfast came into my mind. Porridge, methinks. I cunningly used the stick-picker-upper with the more full grip and more extended arm to get the pot down.

I got a grand scrubbing up session done at 6sat120805hrs. I even did a bit of singing in there!

As I grubbled about making sure everything was how it should be before leaving, I noticed the sky had a tinge of red in it. The moon was reluctant to go down. Quite pretty it was.

But, we all know the farmers and shepherds saying: “Red sky at night, Shepherds delight – Red sky in the morning, Shepherds warning! So I made sure the umbrella was in the bag.

Did the midday Health Checks and medications in case I get back late from town. Took two black bags to the waste chute and set off out into the rather cold and nippy morning.

I met Mary and Shirley in the lobby, and we greeted each other.

6sat13As I got to the end of Chestnut Walk, I turned to take this shot of Winwood Heights, with Winchester Court being the closest one. It still has the sign indicating that it is called ‘Wi Hester Cour’ Hehehe!

Mary was coming along behind me. When I got to the bus stop Winchester Street she joined me. Mary was on her way down to catch a bus on Mansfield Road. I explained that she could get on the 40 one, as I was doing and use her bus pass, cause we can use it anytime on Saturdays and Sundays. We had a little natter, the gal is not happy with her new flat up on the 15th floor, and sounded a tad depressed. She carried on walking down the hill as I got on the bus.

I got off of the bus near the Pound Shop and called in to see if they had any of the Pork Farms Pork Pies on sale. Nope, they didn’t. But I came out with a few things in the bag. Dettol Citrus air spray, a few nibbles for the Social box, Smoked bacon and some beef end-bits. Paid on the self-serve till without any hassle.

Across the road and into Boots store, and up to the pharmacy. I got a Sterimar Hyptn CR spray, £2 off today, got it for £5.99.

6sat20Then made my way to the Victoria Centre Market Stalls. Which was another sad sight! Aisles mostly bare of customers, empty stall, and those poor few beggars still in them looking so sorry for themselves. I have great empathy, and so sorry for them.

I visited Abdul, and his clothes stall. I got two pairs of trousers from him. I had a choice of grey, grey or grey. So, I got the grey ones. Haha!

Had a little laugh with him, paid him and made my way out to the shopping centre (Mall), and hobbled to the City Centre.

During my wanders, I kept taking pictures of closed down retailers. So sad and worrying!I’ll show them all together here, so you can see just one reason for the depression of Nottinghamians.

I wandered down to the Slab Square down King Street. Where I took three photographs left to right of the Slab Square.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

6sat26Not many Nottinghamians about! Although I did see two relaxing in a shop doorway later, and providing some Nottinghamian Street Art for me to snap. Poor things!

The drizzle began to pour a little as I cut through and down Exchange Walk to the M&S food hall.

The regular Big Issue seller was outside the store doors, I slipped him a couple of quid on my way in. Once in the shop, I had to resist buying too much-unwanted stuff, it all looked so delicious! I ended up at the self-serve tills with: A ready-made Lamb One Pot meal £4.50, A Rustic Granary Farmhouse sliced loaf on offer, £1.59 down to £1, Two Sourdough Rolls £1.20 and some Frites £2.30. This time, I did have problems putting the stuff through and had to ask for help, twice! Klutz! I could identify which rolls I had on the lookup lists. Even the lady had a job to find them, so I didn’t feel so bad. Thanked her and off she trotted to help someone else. When it came to swiping the Rustic bread, the machine would not have it at all. Back came the assistant, and she ended up having to use her key and inputting the code manually for me.

6sat26aWhen I got out of the store, the rain was more persistent.

I took many pictures of closed down businesses and signs in this area as I made my way back to the bus stop on Queen Street. At the top at the junction with Upper Parliament Street, this Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist caught my eye as nearly fell off of his bike. Which cheered me up a little. During this little hobble about, there so many Pavement Cyclists all over the place, it would have been too much hassle to try 6sat27and photo them all, and get the camera wet into the bargain. But for this last one I saw, I risked it.

Nearby, I took this picture through the windows of a new cafe. Called Josephine’s Tea Room, 49 Upper Parliament St, Nottingham NG1 2AB.

5fri30

5fri33I perused the menu on show in the window: Nutella on Toast £5.50, Scrambled Egg on Toast £6.00. Egg Benedict £9.00 add spinach for 50p. Porridge Oats £4.50 add sultanas or honey for £1. Pancake Porker Stack 5 pancakes with Dukes Hill ham and dripping with Maple syrup £8.50. Toast and Butter £1.50, this dish is suitable for vegetarians, two slices of bloomer with butter. White, unless you want brown add jam, marmalade, marmite or honey for £1, Nutella for £1.50. Open sandwiches from £8.75. Sides & Extras £1.00, Roddas Clotted Cream £1.00. Portion of Jam £0.50, Slice of white bread or brown bread £0.50, Ice cream a scoop £1.50. Other sauces £0.50.

I have to admit, I was impressed with the clientele inside, and there were a  good few too. Upper Echelon Nottinghamians, obviously at these prices. Although when I peered into the window, a bit like Dickens ‘Oliver Twist’, I’d say half of the customers were students, the other half represented the few Conservative Voters left in Nottingham, you know: Noses up, little finger out when they drank and sneaking sugar sachets into their pockets and handbags. Just my kind of people. Hehehe!

6sat28I caught a 40 bus back to the flats. Tony from the apartments got on en route, and we had a gossiping session.

As the bus got on to the St Anns Well Road, Huntingdon Street traffic lights, I snapped a shot of the horrendous building in the background. Google tells me ICO Development Company are located in it? It’s a massive place, but so ugly to me. A little further along, there are these flats or apartments. Called Liberty Living. Another monstrosity to yours truly. This reminded me of Liberty-Global who bought Virgin Media and destroyed the connection at the same time!

6sat29wd 0.0.30 I’d just put the camera back, and missed the van skidding at the traffic island in this photo on the right. Tsk!

We got off the bus back on Sherwood Rise and walked down to Chestnut Walk. We were moving as fast as we could, and the drizzle had turned to rain now. As we got to the foyer entrance, it stopped altogether.

Said our cheerios in the lift when Tony got out on the ninth floor, up to my flat and I took an SSPWW. Did the health checks and then one more SSPWW! Got the fodder away.

Made a brew and got the computer on to update this blog, after yet another SSPWW!

6sat30Prepared the nosh, no cooking involved. So it was easy.

It looked and tasted good, but for some reason, I ate very little of it? (Perhaps I’m pining for the missing Weevils? Hahaha!)

Washed the things up, had a wee-wee and got down in the recliner to watch a ‘Clarence DVD’.

Zzz!

Sunday 13th January 2019

Italian: Domenica 13 Gennaio 2019

23:50hrs. Once more, I woke with an entirely altered and different outlook and health condition than of the previous morning. I found my physical fettle alrightish, but the mental side was a little fragile, seemed to be psychoactive. Fretful, angstful, restless, all of a dither. Actively searching for something to worry over, fear or give me concern? Luckily, once again the SSPWW (Short=Sharp-Painful-Wee-wee) pulled me out of my clinomania and mind-warping terrors!

wd0.0.90 I exited the £300 second-hand rickety recliner within seconds and took the three paces to the emergency grey tub, and painfully relieved myself. It had to be a forbearing exercise this time. For things flowed and flowed… and flowed. Not as powerfully as of late, but for so much longer!

wd0.0.90 Just as things were coming to an end, Dizzy Dennis attacked. I was able to avoid dropping the tub thankfully. I got it back down on the floor. Then I needed to hold on to the door for a few seconds as the dizzies slowly eased. I understood that this problem may well be caused by the Furosemide side-effects.

More hassle next!

wd0.0.90 I realised that Litte Inchies fungal lesion had been bleeding away as I’d wee-wee’d. Oy-Yoy-Yoy! What next!

wd0.0.90 Off to the wet room to try and medicated and clean things up. I had used the last of the 2.5% Hydrocortisone cream. Ululation-Mode-Adopted! I used the tube of 1%, but have little confidence in its effectiveness. I don’t mean to kvetch, folks, but may be forced into it if things don’t start getting better soon! Tut-tut! Another wee-wee was taken while in the wet room. From here on, they seem to have returned to the shorter but more frequent mode. As they did yesterday. Had a rinse and disinfected contact points, taps, WC, handles etc.

wd0.0.90 Guess what I found as I was leaving the wet room? A rather large and alive EIBWBBB (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetle) I ha7sun01d hoped I’d seen the last of these! He kindly posed for me to take this photograph, then suddenly he/she was off down the shower grate like a flash! It appeared to have longer legs than the other earlier ones. This weevil indeed moved much faster than any I’ve seen before, and I have seen thousands of them in the flat over the last year? As someone said: Perhaps Nottingham City Homes could make money out of these. They must be full of protein, we could sell them to a laboratory, Far-Eastern fast-food outlet or somewhere? Hehehe!

Had another SSPWW as I went to check on the recliner area. (Thank heavens for that grey bin!) I could not see any signs of nocturnal nibbling, but I did note the tray with the dish cutlery on from last nights meal. So I removed it to the kitchen sink and got them washed up. Another Grey-Bin-Wee-wee!

Finally, I’d got around to getting the Health Checks done!

7sun02

Things looked a little lower in with the SYS & DIA, the pulse is up a bit, which is good I think. Got the medications taken, wondering what will happen with the wee-weeing now I’d imbibed the morning Furosemide. I soon found out. I put the kettle on, and by the time it had boiled, I had to make a dash for the Grey-Wee-Wee-Bin! On this single release, I thought the day would be gone before the flow stopped! I had a vision of them having troubles at my cremation as I leaked and put the fire out! Hahaha!

7sun03wd0.0.90 Amidst all the morning troubles, the mind going potty… finding the new breed of giant weevil, Dizzy Dennis’ attack, Inchies Lesion bleeding, the wee-weeing and having just clouted my knee against the cabinet in the kitchen,  I found myself humming ‘Silent Night’ to myself? Possibly a mix of old age, deliration, dementia, and mental derangement, I imagine.

7sun05I checked the condition of the legs. I discovered a tiny welt from the knee-banging, and much rescaping and reshaping of the surfaces had taken place since the last check. Definitely, a lot more misshaped knobblier appearance today.

The distribution of the retained fluid, not so much now, but it was still the top half of the legs with the higher content. The blue marks from yesterday, had vanished? Inevitably, blood and fluids flow downwards, don’t they? If I were an American, I’m sure some biology laboratory would have paid me to examine them. The moon’s surface comes to mind. Haha!

At last, I got around to updating the Saturday blog, finished it and got it sent off to WordPress. (With only about five Wee-wees needed, too!)

Made a start on this post, got up to here and felt a bit peckish. Went to make a pot of porridge, but I had none left. So I had a pot noodle. Watch a YouTube thingy while I ate it.

Worked on CorelDraw, to make some headers for the series. Started the nosh preparations.

Did the Health Checks and suddenly I didn’t feel too good. Duodenal Donald was giving signs of his intentions. Alack! I thought this might affect my appetite, but no! I gobbled up the meal, meat pie, tomatoes and cheesy mashed potatoes, followed by a limoncello. A rating of 9.55/10 for this effort!

7sun38

I was incapable of doing much now, and got down in the chair and just drifted off.

But things turned a little bothersome, as the dreams kept coming and coming… but any rest (Tut-Tut!) Did not! Oy Vey! – So early, this was the end of my day!

TTFN each.

Inchcock – Sat 12 Jan 2019: The highlight of the day being the few moments that I was Not Wee-weeing! Tsk!

Saturday 12th January 2019

German: Samstag, 12. Januar 2019

00:30hrs. Another different awaking mood this morning. I was in a ‘Sod-it-I-Can’t-Win, so why bother!’ Mode. I lay there atop of the £300 second-hand recliner and spotted some bits of mushrooms and cheese on the carpet that I had missed when cleaning up from last nights disastrous falling asleep while eating. And I seem unperturbed by this?  Normally, I would have verbally ostracised myself for being so incapable.

I suspect that as I age, I think I am sensing sadness and weltschmerz at the way things are going on earth?

I got the idea and urged to do a funny ode about the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles), or rather the sudden lack of them. This thought had lodged firmly into my challenged brain.

I got free of the £300 second-hand 1970 built rickety recliner, with complaints only from the knees this morning. I was forced to grab for the disinfected bin for a wee-wee, a short-sharp-painfull one, not a long forceful hose-pipe type one. But I knew I was going to take the medications shortly, and this includes the Furesomide tablet. So things may change in the wee-wee department. (Boy was I to find out how right I was!)  I went to empty the tub, then returned it ready for any further use that may be needed, to near the computer.

I sensed great mansuetude in myself this morning. I felt ireless. Even a little apanthropinisational. But why?

Cleaned up the bits on the carpet missed last night, not an easy task with the knees playing up. Then off to the kitchen to do the Health Checks.

6sat05

6sat03All was looking good on the Health Check results.

Please take it as said, that the SSPWWs were taken many times throughout the morning and up to around midday when the frequency eased off a little.

I got the computer on and started to compose the little ode to the Weevil Wars Ending.

As I was getting to the end of it, many hours later. The concentration had gone to pot on me. I reckon I spent over six hours on this post, from scratch and including the photographs of course. I also mad a header graphic up to use for this post alone, which took a great deal of time on its own.

I made a very late start on this diary.

The concentration was getting a little worse, so I took a break and got the nosh sorted out. The afternoon seemed to lighten up as I got the fodder from the crock-pot.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

6sat07Minced lamb, chestnut mushrooms and peas in lamb and mint flavoured gravy. A small wholemeal baguette, to soak up the gravy with. Mmm! And a limoncello dessert for afters.

After eating up all of the meal, I placed the tray on the chair next to the recliner and considered what my actions would be after I had washed up the pots and pans. Not a lot… Zzzz!

Inchcock – Sun 6th Jan 2019: A mixed fortunes day today – but I think I’m getting better, I have to say! Digits Crossed!

jan06 2019

Sunday 6th January 2019

Latin: 6 Ianuarii Dominica MMXIX

WD 51.0.0 00:25hrs. I woke with the brain suffering the Babeldom of inner and perhaps even external voices for all I knew! Arguing, postulating, and squabbling over anything and everything that came into the grey-cells! It felt as if I was outside looking in. I was farmisht and for a moment or two scared by the brains independent actions. And yet I showed mansuetude in response, and just waited a good few minutes until the mind steadied down, regaining its usual placid-vacuity, and awaiting my input and or control.

No signs of nocturnal nibbling as I fought my way off of the £300 second-hand rusty recliner, in response to the Porcelain Throne being needed.

I was off, up on my feet and hobbling to the wet room in about a minute, and felt a little smug with how quickly I had vacated the recliner. I could not find my slippers, though.

WD 51.0.0 I stubbed my left big toe on the hearth of the electric fire! (No wonder I’m a negaholic!) .

WD 51.0.0 I tottered into the room and onto the Throne, the evacuation was okay, but I found that Little-Inchies fungal lesion was haemorrhaging away! Oy Vey! And just when I thought things were improving for me. Tsk! But things did not get any better…

7sun03WD 51.0.0 Cleaning up after the session, I found that the fluid-containers (legs) had started to swell and bruise again! Grumph! The blood papsules seemed much brighter as well this morning. Perhaps they are turning into blood spots like they did last year? Gawd, I hope not, they would pop and spurt out haemoglobin at the gentlest of touches. If they do it again with the fluid so hard pressed against straining to contain its skin… Best not think about that. My poor old misshaped pins! Hehe!

Off to the kitchen to get the Health Checks, medicationalisationing and tablets and medicines sorted. I had a bit of a quandary about the Furesomide dosage, should I risk taking just a half a pill, or a full one? After considering the situation, I spun-a-coin and taking a full-one won. Throughout today all of the wee-wees were SSPWW’s but more frequent than of the last few days.

6sat05

6sat03The results were a little higher than of late, especially the temp and ever-increasing flipping weight! The Sys I think needed to be higher after yesterdays worrying to me, lows.

At least the wee-weeing being back at the SSPWW mode, I should hopefully be alright for the walk to the surgery on Tuesday for the 07:20hrs blood test.

6sat06I took this photo of the kitchen window from the doorway facing out as I left to have another SSPWW (Sort Sharp Painful Wee-wee).

I made a brew of English Breakfast tea and got to the computer and began to update the Saturday Inchcock.

A couple of hours later, I’d got it finished off and posted.

7sun05Off for another Porcelain Throne visit, as I kept going from warm to shivering a few times, and had a few coughing bouts. Hello, hello!

On the bright side, there was only one dead EIBWBBB (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetle) found in the wet room. And I got a bit of the ‘Catastrophe’ book perused. I hope to live long enough to finish reading this massive book about the first world war. If someone doesn’t mind, can you ask the funeral parlour to burn it with me? You never know, I might get time on the other side. Whatever or wherever it is? Hehehe!

Then I made up a post for the TFZer site with all of the graphics in it. Then put them on individuals albums on Facebook. A few more hours gone.

7sun07aI pondered on whether or not I should try the Polish canned Breakfast Delicacy or not? I read the ingredients: Meat (37%), Water, Meat fat, Meat rind, Beef meat (7%), Mechanically separated chicken meat, starch, salt, stabilisers… There were another twelve items on the can label, but I’d had seen enough to put myself off of the idea of eating it. I returned the can to the cupboard. Tsk!

7sun10I decided to have two (I ended up having all four, though, Hehe!) Texan-T-Dogs (Sausages) with some potato sticks. Simple brekkers, but tasty enough. Unquestionably more desirable than risking the Sokołów Breakfast Delicacy!

WD 51.0.0 I was working on this blog, and the dang Dizzy Dennis returned on a visit. I felt all over the place. Balance, orientation and concentration all shot to pot now! Oy Vey!

7sun14WD 51.0.0 As I stood up to go to the wet room for another SSPWW, and the legs felt so heavy, it was unreal. Maybe cause I hadn’t moved for a while? The coffin – Ah, a Freudian slip there, I’ll try again, the coughing and sneezing started. The legs appeared to me to be getting indents in the now? Extra bruising showing and I think they are carrying more fluid than earlier?

I had a go on Facebooking but had to give up, the concentration bad, and Dizzy Dennis still visiting.

7sun12

Best tasting meal for weeks!

I baked a Sourdough Baguette, overdoing it slightly, broke the baguette into three pieces, buttered it (Marvellous when the butter soaks in the warm bread, Mmm!) and used cooked meat loin as a filler. A few potato sticks and some gherkins, and tucked into this mini-feast with the greatest of pleasure and lowly digested what was a worthy 9.2/10 for Flavour Rating! Despite my struggle with my lack of teeth, I sucked at it, with relish. Hehe!

Dizzy Dennis departed as I was eating it.

Too tired and weary now to do anything else, I left the mess I’d made uncleared-up and flopped onto the £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV… Zzzz!
