Here is a quick rundown on things amiss…
No one has appeared about the telephone and alarm not working. I’m not sure if anyone has been informed yet.
.
& are both unhappy and complaining the only way they know how.
was in complete and total control of every one of the . (Three up to now)
I burnt a finger on the oven getting the potatoes out… having left them on all night. Luckily, on the low oven heat setting. I dropped several off the tray, lost my balance, bent down to pick them up and trod on a few. They almost blew up into tiny bits like soot, and the floor had to be cleaned. But the bruise on my head, when I hit it on the cupboard corner is clearing up nicely now.
Pathetically, I was too nervous to get a shower and shave. Due to fear of a tumble, trip or whatever, and having no way of summoning help now the telephone & the alarm systems are down. Most of the s I have, happen in the wet room. Showering or shaving. Tsk! Whimp!
who put the on for me; I thought he had done an excellent job. But the left one came undone, and I all but took a tumble, treading onto the flapping bit with the Teflon. Bloody good job, I didn’t cause I’d be stuck on the floor waiting until the next carer’s call! Phew! Bit of luck there!
made the second call. What a treasure. After mentioning the telephone and alarm problem to the gal, she took the machines to pieces and then rang a number she found for the supplier. Next, she looked at the batteries in each device and put new ones in the telephone, but it still didn’t work, as didn’t the alarm box. Lovely of her to care. I’d be lost without Kara & Joe-Anne. The people she rang said they would investigate the problem. So went the day up until 16:30hrs, and I’m just starting this blog. I fank You!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

04:00hrs: I reluctantly semi-woke-up up and forced myself out of the ÂŁ300, second-hand, decrepit, Haemorrhoid Harold-testing, sleep-deterring, nauseatingly beige-coloured, not-working, recliner, bent down to take off the . I should have read the signs of foreboding, really, with all my experience of cock-ups and . As I raised my gargantuan bellied mass up onto my poorly damaged legs, the Nocturnal Nibbling signs, gave way, and the broken pieces of the cheese curls bounced from the recliner onto the carpet as my bum and overweighted body involuntarily dropped back onto the chair cushioning, along with the TV remote control  – I have yet to discover where precisely that it landed.
I’d not done yet… oh no!
As I was taking off the pouch, guess what happened? Go on… Alright, I’ll tell yers.
A short but painful began. Enough to cause a against the metal chair wheel. I merely laughed it all off, of course. Removed the pouch and had an unsuccessful search for the TV remote control.

I hobbled into the kitchen, now intent on taking some good photographs through the kitchenette window of the early morning view on offer. As you can see, they were not particularly good.
While putting the kettle on, I realised I had not taken my mobile phone or even.
One of the sticks with me. So I returned to the front room to collect them both. It was a very sensible move to keep the mobile with me at all times while the Help Alarm was not working. I got my, but could I find the mobile phone? No!
How can all this lousy luck happen to me? That was a mammoth, obviously silly question!.
I placed the waste bags into two larger ones near the front door.
Then I started a Sherlock Holmesian investigation into where the TV remote and Nokia phone were hiding from me. Starting with the front room, naturally. An hour or so later, I’d already found the Nokia. It was in plain sight on the ottoman tray, next to the soda and toNokianic bottles, of which I have to drink four litres minimum a day. Theoretically, so as to assist the flow of urine from the infected bladder out into the day or nocturnal pouches. It’s not working. And, nor was my super-modern Nokia 9 Pureview Mobile, with its Android (Pie) updatability, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Octa-Core Gold CPU, 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, HDR video, USB Type-C 3.1, %x12 MP. 28mm Camera, Bluetooth, Fingerprint (under display optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, Li-Po 3320 mAh, non-removable, fast charging 18W, Quick Charge 3.0, USB Power Fast wireless charging 10W – Qi Battery mobile phone when I found it where I first looked for it, in the first place.
The photo gives it away, dunnit? Hehehe!

As with all the visits today, no doubt about it, was ruling the proceedings 100%.
The evacuation performance, I would estimate, took about a minute all in.
The cleaning up afterwards cost me nearly a whole roll of toilet paper and at least fifteen minutes of grafting to clean up each time!

This early morning shot of the balcony windows shows how cold it was today to start with, anyway.

At 09:30hrs, Carer Chris arrived and got me the leg and ankle straps. Issued the medications, had a drinkie, which I insisted upon, and shot off on his rounds.

Odeing then blogging tackled, but it was the usual error-ridden affair for several hours. Think I spent an equal amount of time correcting things.

The sun made it through suddenly, and I hastened to get my and take this shot of the end car park for your perusal. No rain today, as is shown by the lack of the mudslide.

, although I now think it should be spelt Joe-Anne, arrived in good spirits. This is when she kindly did some investigative work on the telephone problem and rang the suppliers to ask for help, for me. ♥

PM Clouds are beautiful!
.
An hour later, darker.
Half an hour later, with the sun having a last bash at getting through… Still lovely, though.

I bet you spotted this one?
Easy-peazy! Haha!

Took these as I got the potatoes in the oven.
I did spot something of interest. There seemed
to be a cloud, either rising from the ground or going down to the ground. I took a zoomed shot
Yep. it might be a chimney? I’d love to know. I’ll try to remember to have a look tomorrow.

Better get the nosh prepared now.
Taste-~Rating: 7.3/10.

Washing the pots, I took this late-night shot from the kitchenette window… leaving the hot water tap running to go cold as I did so. I cursed myself a few times and almost spat in disgust at my regular occurring tap-leaving on!

I added this one in the morning. I think I used it before but didn’t get any responses then.
I can recall them all.
Not that I could afford them often, but the Cadbury’s Neopolitan Flat Twenty were my favourites.
Followed by the Punch Bar.

Have a Great Day!

The best ever morning urine colour!

Guilt Producing picture of the bin at the side of the c1966, ÂŁ300 charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, not working, crumb-covered from the nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, recliner.
“Empty nibble packets from the nocturnal eating.”

Morning view.

Waste bags collated in one.

Quick wash.

Kitchenette to get the kettle on.

Computer on. Blogging work.

arrived. Today was the first time he’s had to do the ankle and leg support straps. He coped well with it. Issued the medications to me.

The Sainsbury order arrived.
I unloaded the carrier bag the man put them into for me (they were delivered loose), And got plenty of potatoes in stock now; Bakers new & Anya Royal potatoes.I just had to get some in the crackpot cooking to eat later. I planned to have them in vegetable soup.
I added sea salt, liquid smoke & Winiary seasoning.
I will add passata with basil to the mixture in the saucepan later. Hope it comes out alright.
Continued putting the other goods away.
Oh, yes!
No shortage of food here!
Beetroot, tomatoes, jelly & chestnuts
Did well in the nibbles department today.
Cheese curls, Vegan Maryland cookies!
And at long last, after months of trying to find a shop with them in stock, the plain shortcake biscuits!
The final put away items cupboard-wise.
Then, the fridge was filled!
Anya potatoes. With a slightly nutty flavour.
These are only available at Sainsbury’s. Due to them being grown on Her… no, his now, His Majesties Farms. Lord Sainsbury is the only person allowed to sell them.

Arrived, and really helped me out again. Sorted the dates of appointments on the Google Calendar, ensuring I had not ‘got any wrong’. Bless Her. Checked the and day bag for me, and the ankle & leg strappings. Pain-killer & Peptac too.

Back to blogging, but yet again, decided to make life hell for me. If if wasn’t them it would be Grammarly, CorelDraw or Firefox would.

Added the spuds to the soup.

The rains heavy again.
Hours later it persisted.

At last, the soup was served up.
Flavour-Rating: 8/10.

arrived. Took the ankle & leg straps off.
Medications issued.

Sleep did not come easily…

As my Dad would say, ‘A reet good colour is that lad!’

The early morning sky was grand, too!

Waste bags into one.

And got the kettle on and made a brew.

But had to leave it to get cold again…

Sloppy as the evacuation was, it took ages!

The rain came.
The wind, too, but not for long.

I put the new quilt-throw on the Carer’s chair.

Made another brew of Glengettie.

Then, I spent hours on new words to use for the blog.

During which I didn’t get far.

came. We had a natter while he did a good job fitting the legs and ankle support straps.
Medications given. And he changed the Catheter Day bag for me. Grand job!

Got yesterday’s blog updated and posted off.

Next. Domestic duties. He mopped the wet room floor for me. Had a chinwag.

Next, by gum, she helped me out some today. I keep asking her to adopt me as Grandad, but no. Hehe!
The gal phoned the Audio Centre for me first. I’ve got one of the appointments on Tuesday the 21st November, at 0935hrs. That’s the one to de-clog my ears of wax. She mentioned I must keep using olive oil, which I do several times daily. Then, they will arrange another appointment for the hearing tests. Then, if any adjustments are needed to the aids (and there will be), another appointment to have them done will be arranged.
I’m hoping I live long enough. Har-Har!
She then arranged for a lift for me with Easy-Llink.
Such an angel is Kara. She even put the details onto the computer diary for me. ♥

The sun through the clouds was beautiful.
I sensed some rain was due, though. We’ll see.

Here’s the animals!

Prepped the meal of the day.
Got two sourdough rolls from the freezer to thaw out.
Got the potato chunks in the oven tray.
Sprayed the potatoes with light oil.
Got them in the oven.

Made up another waste bag.

Delivery arrived from eBay.
Dettol Lavender disinfectant.
I thought I was buying 6 bottles; the box looked like it was made for six?

Evening views from the kitchen window.
No signs of any rain yet.

Got the meal served up and started to eat it.
Just started and arrived.
He took off the leg and ankle straps. Left the diabetic socks on as I requested him to do… it was feeling cold tonight! Brrr! I did his Health Checks, all fine!

When I got settled in the c1966, ÂŁ300 Oxfam charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy & dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, Catheter-tube-trapping, recliner.
It took me ages to get to sleep, but for once, there were no hassles from . I was just coughing a lot, and sharp pains from .

TTFNski, everyone!

After trying to get to sleep for an hour or two last night, I realised the futility and got up to have a walk around the flat. (I may have spat and cursed a little.)
As went to pick up my to carry with me, I found that nothing had gone from the bladder to the bag! The moment I’d heaved my rhinoceros-like, but flabby body from the c1966, ÂŁ300 Oxfam charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy & dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, Catheter-tube-trapping, recliner
Within seconds the evacuation from my bladder to the night-pouch started. Phew!

Got back to sleep, and four hours or so later, I rose again from the ÂŁ300 second-hand shop bought, c1966. moth-eaten, bedraggled, cringingly-beige-coloured, grotty, dilapidated, crumb-containing from my nocturnal nibblings, bug-ridden, itch-inspiring, not working recliner. Off to get the kettle on for brew of Glengettie.
On seeing Venus up in the sky, I wobbled back into the living room and got , and took this shot. A much better effort. You can actually see the planet!

I was planning… Yes, I do sometimes! To get the date tabs done on CorelDraw for the blogs, then get the ablutions done… Best laid plans of mice, men and Inchy?
I thought then, “I’m doing well here, really getting a crack on with these tabs”.
I’d done five days worth of them…
Then… I realised I’d put the wrong year on them all!
However, I did have a stroke of good luck as well, though. Oh, Yes! I’d not converted them to Bitmap yet, only grouped each graphic. So, had to go to each page again, ungroup them individually, and correct the dates. This meant I would not have time to spare for the two-hour minimum session, as the carer would arrive as I was abluting. No carer should see me in my naked state! It just wouldn’t be fair, and may even prove fatal to them. Imagine the shock for they would suffer. Hehehe! I pressed on with the blogging and got deeply into it. I then noticed at 10:00hrs, that no Carer had called yet. Hope they are alright.

I’d forgotten about making the brew of tea. So I did!
As I got to drinking it, the need for the utilisationing of the arose. I hobbled to the wet room, and the evacuation soon started… but didn’t seem to want to stop! Several times I thought it was over, but no! More spat out again, spraying liquid poo-poo everywhere it was possible to do so! Took me ages to clean up.

Back to the computer, and the now very-cold mug of Glengettie tea! I gave up trying to get a drink and opened another bottle of tonic water. Tsk! Washed the mug, hung it up, and in walked Carer Selena. I asked her if she was okay. Had she had any bother that had delayed her, with it being well gone 10 o’clock now?
A little smile appeared on her face. You know, one of those “Oh, dear, what a clot” looks. Yes, yet again, I had missed the changing the clocks!
Looking & feeling a fool, comes naturally to me! Selena took the three large but not heavy bags of waste with her from the doorway for me. And,

I made yet another mug of tea. Seeing the beautiful cloud formations, I got from my pocket
I took a photographicalisation of the mornings… well, near lunchtime now, view!
I’m not sure why, the the odd chubby cloud on the top left of this photo, seemed out of place to me, but it did? An alien spacecraft incognito? Haha!

Carer Joe-Anne arrived. We had a netter… or even a natter, while she sorted the meds out for me. A good gal!

WARNING: X-RATED BUT HILARIOUSStarting with a visit to the WC.
Cleaning the teeth, yes, the gums bled!GC tooth gumShaving produced… ready for this?
Not a Single Cut! – .
Showering… Ah, well, that didn’t go too well.
Got the shower chair in position…
Went to close the shower curtain and…

The end loop shot off of the ceiling rail. Then the fun started; I had to fetch the little step ladders from the front room, to reach to replace the ring. against the c1966, ÂŁ300 charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, not working, crumb-covered from the nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, recliner.
I used the flattened step ladder as I would a walking frame to get back to the wet room. Got inside, and tried to make sure the stepladder was as firm as possible before proceeding up to get to the curtain rail… ! I caught the top plaster on the right leg, against a sharp bit of bent metal on the step, and off came the plaster pad, followed by a fair amount of flowing fluid & blood! Argh!
I got some kitchen towelling on the hole in the leg ASAP, and it wasn’t long before I realised that this was not going to work. Being a Sunday, there were no district nurses on duty, so, being a man of the calibre wot I am, I did not panic, and coped calmly, and practically with the situation at hand. I went in the front room to get a pad from the nurse’s dollop of medical stuff…
I found one about the right size and returned with it to the wet room… As I entered, I managed to bang my right shoulder against the door frame. This was already still painful from the Covid jab, and now, it had set off . I wasn’t sure whether to cry, scream or what! I had to stop for a moment or two to collect balance and mind… not that collecting my mind would be of much use. HaHa!
Then, I found I’d left a trail of blood from the front room, and hallway, to the shower! I opted to cry!  Not really!
Dried up the bit of blood still flowing, and decided to get on with the curtain hook, then get the shower and let the leg get plenty of water on it, then dry it, and put the pre-medicated plaster onto the wound.
I shut the door, gingerly got up the ladder, and on the fourth try, got the hook back in the curtain ring.
Got into the shower, settled into the chair as instructed, and pressed the start button…
I’d not turned on the power box!!! That being outside in the hallway, I went out to the hallway and pressed it. Nearly tripping over the slippers I left outside the wet room door to get into in the event that I would ever be able to get through this painful marathon ablution session alive, of course! But it wasn’t over yet…
Back into the shower, settled again in the chair, and pressed the button, and the water flowed.
The nurse told me on Friday that I can shower again, but need to make sure the plasters are kept dry. The actual showering went reasonably well once I started… apart from the customary cracking of my elbow on the grab rail. At least I didn’t head but the power box this time.
Spent a good while having a good scrub-up. I got out, and dried myself off without too much hassle… which now left me with the two most dangerous tasks; personal medicationalisationing areas to be treated, and getting dressed! Fear didn’t come into it… I tackled the jobs as any heroic, brave, disabled nerk would.

The earholes were olive-oiled
Drank milk for

Blepharitis gel was applied to the eyes.
Germolene & Germoloided.
Gelled.
Phorpain Gelled , and
Gengigelled
Both eyes.
Pain Relief Taken.
Peptac for &
Saline Nasal Spray was used.
Medicated plaster was put on the leg wound.

Getting the PPs on…

No injuries! Just painful!

I applied a 20/1 solution of Dettol to the legs.
Which looked better than yesterday.

Stung a bit, but nothing to hero like me.

I’d just got out of the wet room, as was arriving. He’s bought the laundry back up for me. I’m afraid it was more than damp – as I squeezed the dressing gown taking it out of the bag, water escaped and dripped on the already blood-wet carpet!
Medications given. No painkillers cause I’d already had the Codeine. No Peptac was needed cause I hadn’t eaten anything yet, and we had a little natter.

Then I got the cleaning up done from the ablution disasters – this is all a common happening for Inchy.

While events were still in the affected memory, I got writing this piece above.

I was still writing this, many hours later, when Benjamin returned on his last visit.
He helped me get the diabetic socks back on. Emptied the urine jug for me as well.

I was so tired out and still in a little discomfort after the farcical ablutions session.
So turned off the computer.

Took this photograph as I checked on the spuds cooking.
A kitchen view, straight ahead.

Then got the nosh prepared.
A none-meat, meat Soy pie.
Boiled & sliced potatoes,
And rock-hard baby beetroots.
Flavour Rating 6.2/10.

Washed the pots, and got down in the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, ÂŁ300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner. In search of some sleep about 03:00hrs. It took a while.

Mist Morning

Made the first of the two mugs of proper tea permitted to me. Of course, I am allowed as many mugs of the spit-producing, tasteless crappy decaffeinated tea as I like; but I don’t like it at all. It tastes like medicines did many years ago… but blander, yet leaves a bitter taste. Urgh!

Photo from the kitchen window.
Complete with a reflective flash-flash!

Later on, a view of the massed car park.

Arrived. There is no need to do the leg & ankle straps; the nurse is calling today. I hope. We had a natter and laugh while she did my medications.

Titivated the kitchenette a smidgen and sorted the waste bags out. Then, a quick sweep up.

A new gal to me. Soon, I got the diabetic socks off and medicated the one still leaking papule for me. Then, I got the fresh socks and leg and ankle straps fitted.
All done & dusted!

Made the second call of the day. He recognised my angst about the texts and emails being sent to me asking for the meter reading. I’ve no idea which numbers they need.
After looking at the meter,  Victor decided they did not need a meter reading, as it was automatic? Thanks, Victor.

Busy day today. As I was on the computer doing my blog, the door chime rang out . I thought it was the next Carer coming early and waiting for them to show themselves in the room. Then a second was heard. I couldn’t get to the door in time for whoever it was, and then… noticed inside the door on the waste bin box, the ‘s!
Great news! Now, hopefully, the urine colouring will improve. Four nights without any, have made the bladder evacuations very dark and stinky! Hurrah! These were of the old type, not bother much, but fiddlier if I have the shakes or cramps when I have to fit or release them.

The Tomato-Slicing Tarradiddle: .
I decided to get some tomatoes sliced and put them in the fridge to use later. I’ve a little tip here for fellow PN sufferers about slicing tomatoes.

It is best not to leave your fingers in the way of the knife! Especially take care of stabbing yourself down the nail of the digit mentioned above. It hurts.
To add insult to injury, to put it, the tomatoes were foul and bitter-tasting! Examining the pack, I espied they were Spanish. Had I noticed this when I bought them from the Co-op store on Mansfield Road when on my way to the Covid jab, I would not have touched them. Humph! They got dished after all that hassle! Tsk!

Did the midday call. He was concerned about me not getting the bedroom cleared. Pointing out that the bladder will never improve until I do so. He asked if he could ask if he could have a go at it for me. I pointed out that his company are not insured to do this, so he can’t oblige. He did an excellent job of getting the straps on the legs & ankles fitted. He has a knack for doing these complicated strappings.

The night was falling earlier now.
But still a certain beauty to the view.
A pareidolian picture indeed.

I made the meal of the day…
Mushrooms, savoury French Fries and no-meat meat slices in gravy. A pot of children’s jelly to follow. Well!

This meal did not stop me from waking up in the morning with more than a few empty Cheesy Curl packs in the bin!
GUILTY!

TTFNski!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

What a slog of a day. Confusion, delusion, disappointment, a memory blank or two, and forever sort of in semi-control, couldn’t-care-less, and or  Fretting about having nothing to fret over modes. Honestly, I worry about myself at times, then sink into an almost, but not quite there, semi-accepting-everything without bothering period. And even with the Carers and the nurse calling, I spent far too long on this blog. But enjoyed it… apart the the self-detrimental and imitation happy-go-lucky periods. Which were all mingled together at times. Talk about up & down! Humph!.

04:45hrs: Great colour this morning. I felt tired out still, and had to encourage myself to escape the c1966, ÂŁ300 Oxfam charity shop bought, second-hand, itchy, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy & dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of catheter-tube-trapping, recliner. Caught my balance, and began to revert to my usual morning state of confusion and more confusion.

Ablutions and the first of the four visits to the Throne.
Each event was of a similar nature. Apart from this first evacuation, that is. I think a slow starter? Yet I could feel the bubbling and brewing from within, and I fully anticipated the usual of late, ‘Splushes-Splashes’ and all-done routine in seconds. But No!
I spent several minutes counting the cracks on the ceiling, and then I got the crossword book and spent ages on them. Not that I got many answers in, but enjoyed it all the same. Then, the motion started and finished in seconds. Why the delay, I don’t know, I’m sure.

The legs are getting fatter at the top, and the left is thinner at the bottom.

I must report that the getting rather annoying, and bothersome is getting uncomfortable and causing lesions on the skin? With

Waste bags were collated. And left in the hallway close to the front door for collection by the kind carer. At this stage, I had a little bother when suddenly gave up the ghost momentarily. But being in the hallway was a help, as I could reach and use the walls to prevent any tumbling onto the floor. Yes, I had not taken a stick with me. Tsk! Lucky really!

I took this with the window open from inside the balcony, at the right end, facing North, towards Daybrook, Arnold and eventually Mansfield. The rain was coming, and the mudslide growing.
Then some snaps of the weather, and views from the kitchenette windows. But I did my bestestist! Hehe!

The weather made getting a decent shot taken rather difficult. Yes, they were not so good either today. Why? I’ve no idea. So I cleaned the glasses later & washed the eyes.

Returned to close the balcony window I’d left open. (The rain & wind coming in prompted me to! Hehe!)
And spotted a new vehicle in the car park from the earlier photo. So took this shot with it in. A motorbike, paramedic, or police possibly?
Either way, not a good sign.

This may have been a mistakenly taken picture?

The last view of my leg’s condition was before the District Nurse arrived minutes later. bless her cotton socks, to sort me out with new paraphernalia straps & bandages!.

The arrival of any nurse always cheers up near toothless Inchy! Haha!

The nurse had brought a lot of new gear to use on me again today. I felt so cared about! I was smiling, joking and in fine mental form… Honestly!

More spare compression bandages and lesion pads. A big bagful. It looks to me like it will be a long job anticipated in getting the legs sorted out?
A new black wind-on compression sock. The nurse first removed the bandage from the right leg.
I loved the ridges it had left on the skin, and I asked her if she’d take a photo of it, for me to use on the blog.
She took the two above for me. You can see how
well the compressioning had reduced the fluid.
content of the right leg!
She then put on the black leg support on the left leg.
This will need changing every so often and washing.
Watching the Angel fit it, was such a complicated procedure. I don’t think the Carers will not be able to
do it without much further instruction. Before doing this, she took a snap of the leg with (above left). With new ankle ulcers forming. The black compression sock did not show up in this photo. I thanked her most-muchly; she said she, or someone would be back next Tuesday to check things out and make any changes needed. ♥

On my fourth visit to the , or rather, after my fourth visit, I realised that the olive oil dropper bottle was nearly empty. So I meandered wobblingly into the kitchenette, and started searching (I never found it) for the mini cone out. (Found some on eBay and ordered them, free delivery from China?)
played dead for a few seconds… this time she got me – Crunched down on the hard floor, but the helped soften the blow. And there was no damage caused to anything, other than my knee. Hehe!

Discombobulated, I closed the computer and got a very much-belated, but needed 4-hour-leg-up-session in the ÂŁ300 second-hand shop purchased, c1966, welt-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, itch-inspirational, crumb-containing recliner. Waking up a few hours later, I decided to have my second mug of tea of the day.
Utilising , and carefully taking this shot from the kitchen window, of the fast-disappearing sun. Not too bad an effort.

Got some nosh done. Potato Cakes, the last of the sweet Jenny-donated tomatoes, and some pickled beetroots. Which were unfortunately rock hard! I tried two and had to dish them; the rotting teeth couldn’t cope with them.
Hobbled into the kitchen to get the washing up done.
Checked that the taps (Faucets) were turned off, and no hobs, slow cooker or oven had been left on.
I returned to the recliner, looked at the Freeview schedule, and found that I could now watch two episodes of ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Cracker’ on the same channel straight after each other. An entertainment feast for me!
Huh! I don’t know how I do it… I drifted off at the first set of adverts, and woke 4-hours later when the credits were scrolling at the end of the second ‘Cracker’ episode!
Someone asked me last week, “Do you watch a lot of television now you’ve got the time?”

Keep Safe, Please!

Today, many a calamity-cluster!
Abated by precious Carer Kara,
A tumble, the nurse followed after,
Things got worse, thereafter…
Dropped a bowl of dishwater…
Lymphorrhoea Leslie’s water…
Ingrowing nail pains started!
Knee & back pains agitated,
But I was unintimidated…
Sorry about that… I lied!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Due to , I’d stored photos on the wrong day in the file. So some may be from earlier, as I got myself in a muddle trying to sort them. Sorry again. if so!

06:14hrs: was leaking rather painfully as I stirred back into my mock-imitation, forlorn pitiful life. She was stinging much more this morning as well.
As I removed the night bag from the catheter, other ailments joined in. With what seemed a concerted effort. A  lets attack Inchy with as much pain as we can today. They were successful! , , and a rare visit from . The pain behind the left eye kicked off…
EQ kept telling me, “I warned You!” I knew things were not going to go well at all today – and boy was I right!
Had I known what was going to happen, I’d have hibernated there in the ÂŁ300 second-hand shop purchased, c1966, welt-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, welt-creating, itch-making crumb-containing recliner.

I got to the wet room and utilised the first job. Aha, had not lost control completely, but I’d say was fighting back! The shaving went bloodlessly. !
The showering did not! The patch I’d put on was loosening its grip a bit. , and flowing freely was . giving me gip each time I had to bend or stretch. But the Germolene and Germoloids I’d managed to buy, did a fine job in stopping the bleeding for me.
Emptying the bowl that I’d washed my feet in while shaving, I got a little, but enough, of the shakes and twitches from , to ensure that I dropped the bowl of dirt water. Innit amazing how far water can spread? Come think of it, she had support from my to inform the befuddled brain of my physical needs.
The urine was a good-looking colour today. It kept changing several times later on from this practically near perfect to a deep orangey-red?
Little was jealous of the other ailments’ success I think, and the pangs and pains started coming from him, and are still with me tomorrow.
I thought today was bad… but having already lived tomorrow, they are not so bad!
I made another Heath Robinson affair and put it on Not the foggiest idea what I might have done wrong, but boy did the pain increase! Yes, it did!
seemed the ‘Ailment in Command’ at this stage. Even worse than the , this was a first!

arrived. Medications sorted, and the eye drops. I did ask the lad if he could put some of the Phorpain gel on , but somehow we both forgot about it. No blame attached, other than to me. I’m the one in pain, and I forgot to remind him. We’ll settle I think for blaming

Arrived, for financial & advising. Well, she was overwhelmed I think, all the problems I needed help with.
â‘  Covid-jab appointment making.
② Flu-Jab appointment making.
③ She called the district nurse to get some advice for me on the bleeding. Told me they will report this to the nurses.
④ She tried to arrange a lift for the Audio Clinic appointment that she had made for me, but it doesn’t look too good – no free spots. The chap told Kara, that if any do come free, I’ll be first on the list to get a lift. He would ring back to let me know if that happens.
⑤ Kara did the eye drops and medicationing.
⑥ Checked on the Catheter bag for me.
⑦ When I went to find the Olive Oil applicator for the ears.  She even found time to come and pick me up after I took a Dizzy-Tumble. Bless her!
⑧ There was something else she did, but I can’t recall it now.

I thanked her again, and off she had to go, always sad!

I’d be Lost Without Her Weekly Call to Help me!

I went out onto the balcony for a look around, hoping maybe to find some trees or clouds that I might do some with.
But the clouds were very minimal and high and with my eyesight, they were not seeable enough really. But the close-up stuff was. Taking a shot of the end car park, I saw that the mudslide was receding at a good rate. No rain last night?
I opened the door and took a close-up of the car park area.
The mudslide had a sort of glow to it? After I on the raised ledge when getting back inside. I smiled, passed wind, and laughed it laughing it off, of course...

Potatoes on the boil. Then I searched for my new bottle of olive oil… Couldn’t find it, despite finding it hours later smack in the middle of the Carer’s table. Tsk!
Tea GlengettieMade the second permitted mug of tea.
Glengettie of course.
I used the Jersey Full Milk this time. Lovely! But naughty, Sister Jane says!
The Carer arrived, and UI left the mug of tea to go cold, forgetting all about it.
The mug was well stained when I discovered it. Testimony to the flavour of the brew!
The Community Nurse arrived, to look at the state of .
She took a photograph of the lesion where the fluid was seeping from. Then set about drying it and wrapping the leg from just below the knee, down and around the foot!
It felt better afterwards, but of course, I was being distracted by the presence of a young lady, manhandling me. Hahaha!
She told me I must keep the leg raised at all times when not moving about. I had to insist she chose a dinkie and or nibbles from the display.
She obliged me, bless her; after I’d told her if she didn’t pick one, I’d be sulking all day.
Which brought forth the first laugh of the day.
Hehehe!. She said someone would come out on Monday to change the bandages and check on things. Amazingly I remembered Carer Kara telling me she made the appointments for the Audio Clinic and Covid jabs for Monday & Wednesday, as she thought I might be tired after the trek to the clinic and it would give me a day to recover. Now that was kind! ♥ I mentioned this to the nurse, who said they would come on Tuesday instead.

Three hours or about, later, I checked on the leg when the Carer came.
He took this photo.
Looks like the fluid and a smidgeon of blood had started to flow.

Then it dawned on me – I would not be able to take a shower! It’ll have to be doing the washing stood at the sink. Which, will mean difficulties in getting access to certain areas that the shower spray usually takes care of. And on Tuesday, if they rebandage it again, an even longer period without a shower? Will I begin to reek? Haha! There is not a lot of escapage at the moment, so the chances are that they may leave it to get some air… or not. Mind you come think of it, it’ll be five days before they call… Ah, well!

The blogging will have to be cut short: if done at all. It seems essential that I get my leg up! There is no answer to that! Har-Har!
I’ll try to get a cartoon made, and an ode daily. If time or I’m up to it. Sorry folks. Evening photo of the oddly light night.

There are also three medical appointments to sort out and fit in next week? I’m not feeling too good about the coming week. EQ agrees with me.

Great meal, though.
The Flavour-Rating given was a deserved 8.5/10.
Would have been higher if I had not undercooked the potatoes. Tsk!

Fingers Crossed – I can’t cross the legs or fingers voluntarily anyway.
The worst of the ailments at present is the pain coming from the s Papules; a close second is the toe nail, which for some reason dosen’t like putting my legs up.

Friday 15th September 2023 – Inchy’s End Of The World Dream Revealed

– – – – – POOR OLD THING! – – – – –

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit! Over six hours of sleep, with just one wake-up early in the morning, about 05:00hrs, after I’d had the dream about the end of mankind & the planet. I scribbled some memory notes to help me in recall for the writing about it on the ode for today. (above). It was like a documentary. Forecasts, images and disasters were being revealed. Constantly changing between countries and different types of catastrophes. All of them, humankind made.   I did wonder if had had a hand in creating this nightmare, well, morningmare? Apparently, the end will come in three years’ time. But by the time it ends, judging by the details given to me, those still left on earth will be glad to see the back of it. Millions of humans committed suicide, genocide, fratricides, sororicides, infanticides, homicides, general populicides, and a few tyrannicides as well. Still, it made a nice change to wake up with something on my mind. Hehe!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

At 0605hrs, I emerged from the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, ÂŁ300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner, with scribble on the note pad to create an ode about the dream for this blog. And that was all I seemed interested in.
The nocturnal catheter pouch urine was darker today. This makes me worry about the District Nurses taking off the entire on Monday, to see if I can manually wee-wee. If it is this colour when they arrive, I can’t see them bothering. They may decide to book me in for a permanent catheter option? I pray not!

I got on the computer, but as soon as I started using it…
Down it went! But I got it back within 15 minutes. Then spent a good one-and-a-half hours making the Dream Ode.

Sorted the waste bags out.

Went to the kitchenette, and the morning mist up high was obliterating views from the window.
The first shot I took, had the flash on.
The 2nd at least you can see the houses.
Neither photos were very good.

Then… nervously off to the wet room. But only slightly this time. Messy again, but at least there were a few torpedo-shaped chunks in there. Haha!

The feet and toes looked surreal with their oh-so-white toe ends. Otherwise, they were looking good.

The Carer Arrived. Had a natter while she did the medicationings and eye drops.

Worked on yesterday’s blog, and within three hours I’d updated and posted it off to WordPress!

Before starting on today’s photos, I fetched an ice cream cornet from the freezer – it was far too soft, so I expect my leaving the freezer door open has done more damage than I expected. When I get time, I’ll have to dish some stuff.

Took a photo to the left of the flats.
Where the morning sun is still behind Mapperley Hill.
Then straight ahead.

I adjusted the strapping on the catheter. Not very well, though. Carer Victor arrived and readjusted the straps for me. Where did the time go? afternoon already!

Wee-weeing well… but…
see how it comes out of the pouch?

Better tackle the ablutioning now. This is going to be a long job. Getting things together and ready to go in.
Oh, I’ll do the waste first. Been tidying up… Oh, Yes!
13:12hrs: To the Wet Room! Charrrge! Well, I limped in.
Pleased with the shaving while standing in a bowl of water at the sink. No trips, slips or balance problems. I even got out and washed and dried the bowl, harm-free!
And as for the shaving, huh, only two cuts! Honestly!
The showering I admit was a bit of a farce. Hit my head on the power box. dropped the loofah twice, and stubbed my toe on the flipping shower chair leg.
Drying off, I knocked a selection of things off of the floor cabinet. I took two photographicalisations of the mess, but neither made it to the SD card.

Even getting into the Protection pants was relatively easy today? I’m not saying it was easy; I meant it was less painful, and no injuries were involved. But it still hurt! Hahaha!

15:15hrs; All done. Got some potatoes in the oven, and back to the computer to get on with this blog.
Getting tired now (16:25hrs), so I’ll get the nosh sorted out.

Carer Marie arrived as I was planning the meal. Showed me a way to shred cheese in a safer way; bless her.
I got on with making the cheesy potatoes, with some of Jenny’s yellow & red tomatoes, fishless fish sticks, And sliced beetroot. The strawberry dessert was on its last sell-by date.
Flavour Rating: 9/10!

I took some snaps earlier, that I forgot to put in here. Well fancy that; Me! forgetting something!
Sky to the North.
Sky to the North, a little higher.
A later shot of the same area.
Even earlier and missed off, a shot of the car park end.

Went into the wet room, to change my PP’s…
and clean & medicate my lower region.
I was flabbergasted to see that the bruise on the left thigh, that I got when taking the last tumble, and two days later had completely vanished – was back again? Impossible, surely? I haven’t taken any knocks or falls for days now.
Ah, unless I took a knock nocturnally… could be?

Carer Victor did the last call. I was asleep when he came, and have little knowledge of how things went, but he had put the night pouch on for me. Getting back to sleep took a while, and when I got there, there were the odd flapping and threshing about awakenings. But at least didn’t go on and on as he has been doing; in fact, he’s given me two nights off… but he’s back, but not with a vengeance this time.

TTFNski, each!

From yesterday. When waiting for the internet to come back on, I turned in the TV, and this procedure was on…
A gigantic lymph thingy was growing on a chap’s back.
Bit by bit, they kept on tugging out the growths.
Then stitched up the hole.
The evacuated pile!
The man expressed his relief at getting rid of it. Now he can swim again on holiday! Good for him!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
My Legs transformed into close to, or as normal as they have been for ages. The ulcer is itching like mad on the right ankle, but no real pain. Apart from when I scratch at it. Haha!

I took this first outside shot, through the kitchenette window, in ‘Through Glass’ mode using the camera. To get the raindrops on the glass. The flash activated, and some reflection must have been caught. Of what, I know not.

.
Went onto the balcony, to see if the mudslide had begun with it raining. This was a decent shot. But, when I took a wide shot…
.
I seemed to take two at the same time, which is not possible, surely? Still, it looked sort of artistic.

This shot, (they were taken through the windows), caught how it looked to the eye.

Waste bags were assembled.
Taken to the Hallway door.

Sainsbury’s order arrived.
The driver put the stuff in carriers for me.
I thanked him, and unpacked the things.
Great! Got some Anusol for , and Savlon for the ankles and chaffs. Even got some olive oil for the ears at last! Bikkies & Marmite cashew nuts (These’ll test the teeth!). A Milk Roll loaf too.
Other goodies: Lemon mousse, dried roasted onions, and liquid sea salt. Oven cook chips, and canned veg soup.
I set about getting the meal prepared! By gum, it was a good one. Taste Rating: 8.2/10. The teeth hurt after eating up. Tsk!

Nurse Nicole rang while was here. She asked if I’d like them to arrange for a ‘Social Prescription’ for me. (Said Kara who was on the phone for me). She said it was for Social Contacting and would be arranged for someone to ring me. Confused!  I replied yes please, and Kara passed on the message.

Spent hours on blogging, but the lack of sleep… well, I’d not had any last night at all, forced me to stop, and just sit myself down again in the recliner, in anticipation of a good kip!

An hour later…
Carer Benjamin arrived. Evening medications, eye drops administered, Peptac, and he checked the taps and oven for me, before checking .
I soon nodded off again. But not for long; I sprang awake and could hear a clattering noise from the flat above. I believe that she/he may have dropped something. I pondered on getting dressed and calling at the flat to see if they were alright… But I heard other noises; one was plainly a walking stick falling and came from another area of the ceiling. I assume things were okay up there. They or he or she, is always making loud noises, late at night sometimes. But, with my tumbles and droppages bothering those in the flat below me, I take in my stride now.
Getting back to sleep was not an option, as I tried to, and unfortunately started on at me.
I was relieved, when blared from the door chime, and in came . Painkillers, eye drops and the night pouch attached, and off home he went. Haha!

I tried once again to get some sleep catch-up. It was not a successful effort. Constantly almost bursting awake so often, I gave up at 03:30hrs and started another day. Of which, I anticipate will be another one of frustration-ridden mishaps, and, as warned by my EQ: Whoopsiedangleplops, Accifauxpas, hurdles, harassments, hassles, hopelessness, hindrances, hitches, handicaps, headaches, and negative aspects to cope with.

It’s being so cheerful that keeps me going, you know!

Inchy: Sunday 3rd September 2023 – Sight, hearing & sleep, seeked!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

The left cataracted eye is looking like I’ve taken a right hook from somebody! Mind you, looking again, so does the right one? But only the left one is painful. Although the left one was expected to be like this, I learnt of the right one only having one cataract that needed doing, and the left one had a cortical, and two nuclear cataracts done. Marching on… left, left, left, right left… Hehehe!  I’m still getting confused with so many eye medications to be done. How the Carer’s keep up with it I don’t know. I’ve written down the roster needed: AM on waking up: Blepharitis Gel, left eye only. Five minutes later, the 4-Times a day.
First Carer call: drops, for times a day, to be inserted by the Carers. The gel is AM & PM only. Then , this is to be applied by me, four times a day. The Dry Eye pads are to be used three times a day, applied by me. Instruction was supplied on how to do this properly. The Blepharitis liquid is applied on a pad and can be used morning and evening ‘If required’ in case of any pains, signs of bruising or red-eye appear. Well, they have all appeared!
Basically, I haven’t much idea what I’m doing!.
No doubt about it, when I caught the eye early in the morning, it hurt, and the redness started to appear! Left eye only then. However in the afternoon, as I was doing the pad cleansing job, had a go at me, and I caught the eye again! Then it got such a nuisance, that I had to abandon the blogging for a long time until things eased off and more vision was available. Humph!
Then, muggings here got into word-finding files.
So, cannot see, cannot hear, cannot get any sleep, and am generally desperate to make time…
Not much time for blog-creating again.
Onward… Not much today, Sorry.
