Welsh: Dydd Mercher 12fed Chwefror 2020

(Tue) 21:50hrs: Earlier in the day, I had a tumble, and got my head down early, hence the odd waking time. I felt much better after four hours uninterrupted kip. I was pleased to remember that I had the Doctors appointment coming up, and decided to go through the notes I had written to remind myself for the visit to see Dr Vindla, in the morning at 10:00hrs.
Huh! Could I find them? No! I went to search in the three-wheeler guider trolley, in case I’d put the notes in it, so I wouldn’t forget to take them. I got distracted when I found a letter and leaflet from Nottingham City Homes, had been put through the door.
The leaflet notification was about the, until now unmentioned fire in Winchester Court last week. Headed: Winchester Court Fire Damage. Apparently, it was the sprinklers that had flooded the place but saved lives, they told us in the letter. No mention of any flooding in the flat below, as Malcolm told us at the bus stop. There followed a list of common sense do’s and don’ts regarding a fire taking place.

I couldn’t help but see the funny side of one bit of advice. Know your escape routes in case you need them in an emergency – and make sure everyone who lives in your home knows how to escape! (All sensible stuff!)
Then I wondered if this included the Black biting Boll-Weevils, the ghosts, the aliens and or the Goblins? That I am sure are a natural part of the mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court, that lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the spacetime continuum. With illusion, delusion, & hallucination. Hehehe! I am a fool!
In the envelope were a Newsletter and a Notice of ‘Variation of the terms of your tenancy’. I was not up to reading it all, though. Some jiggling and rewording had been done. Sadly, some additions, covering rent payment, Knives and weapons, electrical supply meddling, door closers, gas canisters, failure to allow access to contractors, safety checks. For sprinklers, alarms, carbon monoxide checks, and Do not block any ventilation or extraction fittings. The Nottinghamian tenants sound a dangerous bunch, Haha!
I made a new list of reminders and put it in the walker-trolley, with the Newsletter to read at the surgery later.
I made a brew of tea, took the medications and had a WAOQ (Weak-All-Over-Quickly) wee-wee. Then pressed on with updating the daily post. Got it completed and sent photos to Pinterest.
Then made a start on this blog up to here. Went on the WordPress Reader next. Made a brew, then visited the TFZer Facebook.
Nibbled some bikkies and had a mug of tea, and got the ablutions tended to, as quietly as possible, so as not to disturb the neighbours, a stand-up at the sink job. Can’t use the shower cause of the noise it makes.
Put the handwashing to soak in the bowl for after the shower and shave.
Well, well, well, the pins looked Arthur Itis friendly! And, as if there was little blood in them this morning – good job I’m going to the Doctors later. Hahaha! But the ablutionalisationing went fine. Few dropsies, no cut and no bleeding! Yee-Haa!
I got a few graphics made up on CorelDraw. Then got some nibbles for the nurses in the trolley. The nurses aren’t in the trolley you understand? That’s where I put the bag of nibbles! Snigger!
I took two snaps of the tiny moon that lingered in the sky. Got the black bags on the trolley, and had a last wee-wee. Safety-First!

Made sure I’d got the bus-pass and ailments list with me. Camera in my pocket and set-off out for the hobble to Carrington.
Back in a couple or three hours. I hope!

(I’m back!) At the lift lobby, some more Winwoodhieghtean Artwork was spotted on the carpet. Down in the elevator and through the link-passage and out Winwood Court’s lobby door, and off on my wobble to Carrington.
By gum, it was cold out there! I had a little trouble controlling the three-wheeler-guide trolley at times but managed. I think with Arthur Itis coming on so strong caused the problem for me. Talk about Limpalong Cassidy, Haha!
I turned left along Mansfield Road en route and took these shots of the traffic. I can’t remember why I did. Maybe, to show the thriving hub of Sherwoods closed down shops?

I hobbled up the hill and down into Carrington. The famously snarled up traffic was going on later than usual?
In this snap on the right, although in the distance, is an animal of the Nottingham Pavement Cyclist variety. The buck-toothed
young ignorant son of moron came so close to hitting me from behind as he belted by me! Still, it didn’t bother me… much!
I arrived at the Medical Practice and made my way inside to the reception desk. Where the lady smiled at me and welcomed me like I was a long lost Grandfather! That cheered me up! ♥
I got seated and started the crossword puzzles. A chap sat next to me, amiably started a confab, and we had a laugh or two, and he even got a couple of clues in the crossword for me. By gad, it’s good to get out and about on days like this! After a while, Dr Vindla came out to collect me.
Her first words when we got in the treatment room, was: “I’ve not seen you for while!” But instant reply (Made with a grin on my face!) was, “Have you tried to get an appointment to see yourself?” She retorted cleverly with; “Well, I can see your not dead yet!” With an even bigger smile than mine was! Gawd, I love that woman’s sense of humour!
We went through the problems I am having. And the results were; She sent me to the nurse for a sample and four blood tests. She’ll let me know when the results come back.
She contacted the Chemist for me and afterwards told me the prescription will arrive this Saturday. I pointed out that I only have a day-and-a-half of medications left, and it is four days until Saturday? I reminded her of the Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, had left me without any for five days last month, and ventured that this may be part of my problems suffered? She got on the phone back to the Chemist, asked for the Pharmacist, and had a word with him, as I left to go to the nurse’s room.
As I came out after the marathon blood-letting session with the friendly new-to-me nurse, who I had in tucks telling her the names I’ve given my ailments, Dr Vindla came to me and told me that the Chemist is on the way here (The Medical Practice) now, with this month’s prescriptions! Now that is real service, bless her cotton socks!
I was over the moon! (Not literal, you understand?) I chatted to the receptionist between patient for a few minutes, and a pretty girl arrived, with the bag of goodies for me! She had written down for me, the date of the next ones was due. 9th March. I thanked her, and feeling cared for, and in high spirits, I thanked everyone again, and departed, whistling to myself, I think!
Unfortunately, as is usual when I start to get confidence or contented, something puts me back. In this case, I wobbled a bit going out of the car park and clouted my already Rheumatoid Arthur Itis suffering right knee against the brick wall, as I stopped myself
going over. But hey, I wasn’t too bothered, its only pain! Hahaha! My gay-abandonment was only dented temporarily! I turned left, and, more limpingly than normal, made my way to the
Lidl store down the road.
I was greeted there in true Lidl fashion, ignored! I ended up at the self -serve checkouts with, Fabric softener, a tin of garden peas, bin liner bags, Salt & Vinegar potato snacks, grated cheese and German smoked ham. I paid up, and out to the bus stop. Where I had another
close call with a Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist! Caught one to Sherwood, crossed the road.
Up the incline to the bus shelter, a ganglet of Winwoodonians were gathered. Some chit-chatting, sarcastic comment and light insults were shared. Hehehe! They chinwagged on the short trip up the hill back to the flats. Jenny, Nora, Frank and others.
The knees were bad now, and a chap must have seen me struggling with the trolley, and assisted me off of the bus. I fang you! As I limped through the Winwood Court social area, a lady must have read this blog and assured me that she would not be rude to me. Handing over the new frying pan incident). Bless her. ♥
I could not catch up with Nora and Frank en route to Woodthorpe Court. And, Nora is 91 years of age, still beautiful and a dignified lady! ♥
I went up in the next free list with Betty. We enjoyed a natter, mind.
I got in the apartment, and unloaded purchases, and put them away. Not a lot, but apart from the garden peas, everything else was actually needed, so I did well with not
overshopping, I thought.
Arthur Itis was even worse than earlier, now. Mmm? Why though?
I got the prescriptions checked and stored away in the medical drawers. The dates on the PillMate blister packs were still wrong. 17th January. The dates on the individual packs were February 6th? But the voted 3rd best Chemist in Nottingham, Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2DA, are at least catching up, slowly.
Got some mushroom and garden peas on the cook, and started the oven warming up for the chips later. And made a start on updating this blog.
Fatigued soon set in! So, I stopped on the blogging, got the chips in the oven, and got the handwashing done, rung and hung!
Then sorted the nosh. Bit of a feast, but I made too much of it for the stomach to cope with. (Again!) The waste bin took care of the uneaten stuff. Regarding the potato and cheese croquettes from Iceland, don’t bother trying them, folks!
Overall a taste-rating of 5/10 for this one.
I did the washing up and took a snap from the unwanted, light & view-blocking, photography hatingly designed with wide sticking out ledges so one cannot see below, thick-framed new kitchen windows. I was going to take one from the new balcony, but the incoming ice, snow and rain from Storm Ciara, had left water beneath the floor planks, and the crumbling wall plaster has fallen off in bits, gone under the wood in the stagnant water, and is beginning to smell a bit now. The picture didn’t come out too bad.
Aha! The TV was back on! At the bus stop earlier, one of the gals told me that the Fire Sprinkler installation crew had accidentally cut the communal cable. I thought as much! Still, obviously, they have now, three days later, got it repaired. Not that I mind really honestly. Falling asleep watching DVDs in just as easy to do. Hahaha!
I got the ox on and started to watch a documentary, no, I’m wrong. It was The Dog Rescuers, on channel 54. I was doing well and stayed awake for the whole of the first part, then the advertisements came on… Zzzz!

I moved the handwashing onto the airers. I kept jiggling them about to get it to dry better as the morning went on.
The right arm, where I’d burnt it on the oven racks taking out Josie’s smoked haddock last night, began to itch, and I found it difficult not to keep scratching it. So I rubbed some Savlon cream on the little scars, this should ease off the itchiness! And it did, too! Any more medical help or advice you need, just call me! Hahaha!
Off to the wet room for a wee-wee. And what a wee-wee it was! Of the MES (Marathon-Endless-Sprinkling) variety. I thought it must be time for dinner when it finally ended! It must have taken several minutes to trickle its way to a final conclusion. I think that maybe, had I used a receptacle to relieve things in, a teacup might have been too big! The pain, as well. Blimey!
I got in and stripped off for the cleaning session, and boy oh boy, were the plates (feet) colourless! They were whiter and paler than I have ever seen them before! I could be dead here, and no one has bothered to tell me about it, you know. Hahaha!

In the lift lobby, it looked as if the Mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination, had been busy again? Haha!
I explained my problems, starting with the Pegasus form to be filled in, and the silly bit of paper with the return address on, in need of guidance on how it supposedly works. Oberstúrmbannfhreress Warden Deana (Just a cognomen), knuckled down and helped out straight away. She filled in the form from details held on the Nottingham City Homes computer record for me. Then supplied a safer envelope for me to use for posting back to the Nottingham Police Headquarters. Thanks, Deana!
I made my way back to the flat, taking a snap of the windblown al-fresco seating area in the drizzle. I noticed that the door was ajar. I pressed the green open button, and a chap came along to tell that I must not push or force the door! I explained to him that I did have to if I wanted to get outside! He repeated that it was a fire door – I pointed out that it is not like the doors in the new Winwood Court, that is how come there, is a green button to press, it does not open automatically, you have to push the door! That is what I have been told. He was not impressed; he just repeated that I must not force the door, tutted and went off in a huff! Humph! I don’t know who he was.

I was now in a state of utter confusionableitis!

Hello, a noise from the door again, I’ll investigate. Fancy that, a load of junk mail had been delivered for me to enjoy! Well, that cheered me up no-end that did! A good job I live on my own, for the mutterings coming from under my breath, that was not to be repeated in any civilised company! The Houses of Commons, perhaps?
I got the handwashing done, wrung and hung. Got into the night-attire, and once the meal cooked and served up, tucked into it!

02:00hrs. I woke with the mind filled with, what’s the most suitable word? Dread, I think! Fear of the long haul to town on the £2.30 bus trip and slog through town and up the fearsomely steep Standard Hill to the Audio Clinic, I think. Ah well! The note I’d left to remind me on the TV screen helped!
Crossing the square to get to the Poundland Store (surely this time they will have some large Pork Farms pies or Payne’s chocolate Brazil misshapes in stock?). But no, they didn’t. However, I invested in: black bags, bleach, drain unblocker, cans of chilli-con-carne, an egg & bacon sandwich, and some more Ginsters beef pasty’s. The lady at the self-serve tills put them through for me and packed my bags.
What an angel! As I left the store, some pigeons came down, the instant I dropped some nuts on the floor as I was taking the bag out of my pocket. There were not many left, but I lost them all! Still, the dickies benefited. Maybe they have learned that the bags can be dodgy from the Poundland shop, and other people have done the same? Haha!
I then carried out the plan, being as I had time if I didn’t take too long over it, to walk along and up Hounds Gate, and taking pictures along the way up.
I turned right at the end of Hounds Gate, up Maid Marion way, previously known, when I worked at Tesco on the road, as Granby Street.

To the end of Postern Street and left up to the top of Park Row, and on to the Ropewalk. A builder’s vehicle at the top, had me beat as to what it could be? Caterpillar tracks it had on it? Perhaps it is to get the wax out of me right ear-hole? Don’t know why I said that; it isn’t even funny. Am I losing it again?
.
My EQ warned me that this may not be the case! However, I thanked her and left to go home as instructed.
I walked down to the crossing and over the road, almost spitting with frustration! (If only I’d known what was to come yet, I wouldn’t have bothered!)
I got up to the Wilko store and got some clothes-freshener and granules. And liquid soap flakes, plus a bag.
though. 1855hrs: I thanked him, he’s a decent chap.

Got the Health Checks done, again the sphygmomanometer operated first try. Glad to see that the Pulse had gone down at last.
consecutive mornings.
I made another mug of tea, and that annoying noise was around again. More of a tap-tapping noise but distant.

Not many folks about yet, well not on foot, a bit traffic though.
told me to wear them for two days. We managed a smile and laugh, I thanked her, handed over some nibbles, and departed, noticing through her window, that the rain was now a bit havier outside.
to sting a bit and Back Pain Brenda kicked off. Hey-ho!
extra walking to get there. I bought some bits, including a beef tomato to have with the sarnies later.
The rain was much lighter now.
Making my way slowly up the hill, I came across a piece of Nottinghamian Street Art in the gutter. Tsk!
Something about this warmed my heart. No idea what it was called or anything about it, I just had to admire how the plants force their way through.
At the 40 bus stop on Winchester Street Hill, I cmae across some more Nottinghamian Street Art in the shelter. I suppose that this spot is vandalised so much because there are no CCTV cameras nearby, at it is a relatively unsused spot without any local population about?
get to. After the terrain got flatter, I felt easier, and walked along Chestnut Way, stopping at Riechsführeress and Catwalk Model Warden Deana’s window, where she was working and exchanged a few words and cheered each other up methinks.
further, but the lads were still working in it.
I put the bread and bits away, got the kettle on, and thought I heard some shouting from outide. I went on the balcony and cut my hand trying to open the spring cli to have a nosey.
After an hour or two, I thought about some food intake.

I got the kettle on and did the Health Checks.
Got the ablutions sorted out, bins to the rubbish chute. Took a recycling bag down on the way out, dropped it at the caretaker’s door.
pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin. Where I had a natter with some residents, Doreen, May, Kath and Roy amongst them. Not many laughs this morning, mostly listened to complains and moans.
I called into the Sherrington Park Medical Practice and asked for some urine sample bottles, which the lady handed to me. Thanked them and off out to walk down to the Lidl store first, then to pick up the Sock-Glide and socks from the chemist. I bought some Rosti sticks, lemon yoghourt, Melton pork pie and battered sliced potatoes, and paid at the self-serve tills, then out and to the chemist.
I thanked the receptionist. And decided to walk back to Carrington, partly to get some of the albeit cool, sunshine on my body, and allow me to rid my mind of the twisted thoughts within, and reclaim some form of belief, purpose, faith and confidence.
wees were bothering me, so all was not a disaster!
So low were my spirits. I should have known better than to even think that anything might go right for me.
life of Woe has and will always be frustrating, annoying, failing, defeating, harassing, intruded upon, fraught, perturbing and plagued with my inadequateness and a dearth of any success!
banged the bruise on my left arm, on the telegraph pole!
When I got into Sherwood, the sky and clouds looked so beautiful, although it was not very warm with it.
I was so pleased to see that the Nottingham City Council have now arranged for some meaningful efforts at population control to be activated in Sherwood at last!
I limped on, and waited at the bottom of Winchester Hill, for the L9 bus.
When we got back to the flats, I joined a little ganglet of about six Woodthorpeonians, on the walk back to the block. They soon left me trailing.
Buttered Polish sliced sourdough bread tomato sarnies, ham hock and some of the potato Rosti sticks. And very nice too! Mind you, I was feeling hungry! I ate everything up. A taste rating of 9.3/10 for this effort.

I had a check of the pins (legs) while in the wet room. The knees looked better than they have for ages. The remnant of the leg ulcer had cleared up even more, and the fluid retention has gone down a lot. Tsk! I’m going to look a right clot when I go to the centre on Thursday, with legs that will look like there is nothing wrong with them!

couple of hundred yards further up the hill, and another Scumbag Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist flew by me.I’m afraid this one got to me, he was even closer to hitting me, and let out a verbal utterance, “Go forth and multiply!” but using fewer words. Luckily, I was wise enough to speak in a voice that ensured he could not hear me, just to avoid the fit young man doing so, and knocking the-hell out of me. Hehe! I was momentarily cheered when I saw the car pulling out of a driveway, and immediately prayed that it would hit the primate riding the bike. But, no such luck! Tsk!
Just by the traffic island junction with Gregory Boulevard, I spotted some new life forcing its way through in the hedging. Bootiful!
I veered off down Huntingdon Street and called in the Lidl store. Where I bought a Melton Mowbray pork pie, German-Smoked cooked meat, part-baked sourdough baguettes, chicken thighs and remembered to get some cornflakes this time. Paid the lady at the checkout, and left to go on a walk-about to take some photographs of the older parts of Nottingham. But the feet objected, so I changed plans, and made my way directly towards the L9 bus stop on Queen Street.
I was the only passenger to get on the L9 bus. IT felt a smidge eerie, cause usually there would be a good few others waiting, including some of the Winwood Heights residents, but not today.
The meal was made up of two flat-bottomed buttered tomato cobs, Marmite crisps and cheese buttons, yellow and orange mini-tomatoes, chicken thighs and the last of the mini-chicken sausages. I enjoyed the flavour of this effort, but the tiredness and exhaustion I felt, meant I did not eat it all.

Got up to here, and then made a mug of Glengettie tea and a pot of porridge for brekkers.

Winchester Court is looking alright now.

Up over the hill and down into Carrington and the surgery. I was well-pleased at my hobbling-rate, and I arrived there about 25-minutes early. Smug-Mode-Engaged. Haha!
I ended up spending a lot more than I had planned to. I used the self-serve tills, without any problems Swank-Mode-Engaged! I got a bottle of orange barley cordial, some Easter treats for the gals, Italian nougat, seasoned potato slices, French Nougat, Yoghourts, cooked meats, fresh tomatoes and something I rarely if ever buy; Ready-made
This idle-nosh was much enjoyed, despite my not being able to eat it all.
