Why is Liberty-Global Virgin Internet Media such utter, Crap?

How, when a man can earn figures like these below for Mike Fries, boss of Liberty-Global, who owns Virgin Media along with tons of other acquisitions,  and he still can’t manage to get a Virgin Media Internet connection to Sherwood, Nottingham, without it going down every single day, several times?

Just asking, like… Not that it bothers me!

I got my head down late, and I fought to nod off until gone midnight. At least I only shot awake twice, well, three times, but I decided to get up then, at 4:30hrs. I was persuaded by Little Inchie, who required a wee-wee. Hehe!

The significant bit about this is how refreshed I felt! Less than four hours sleep, but it felt like I’d had ten or more? Grrreat! I think the Hemp capsules are helping me sleep a bit better now?

Shuddering Shoulder Shirley was getting a little rough at times; these episodes continued all day, though never for any lasting time, a minute to perhaps five.

Off to the Porcelain Throne and do a stand-up early-morning shave and wash, etc. The Throne session went so nearly perfectly! There was no need to rush or push; the evacuation eased out of its own accord, painlessly! A few spots of blood, nowt to fret over.

Ah, things did get a bit fraught in the teggie-cleaning and shaving departments! I caught the broken tooth, and a bit more came off, and I vampires some of the blood. Hehe! Then, I managed to nick my right ear lobe with a razor, and boy did that bleed too! The tiniest cut imaginable too? I had to use a lot of kitchen towels to soak it up with. And a lot of the Brute aftershave.

But there were no toe-stubbings, walking or knocking into anything, colly-wobbles, Dizzy Dennis’, or tumbles. I even coped with getting the long diabetic bamboo socks on without putting myself in danger by using Sock-Glide-Glenda! Smug-Mode-Applied!

MedPhorpain Again, things went well. The only correctly painful treating was rubbing the Phorpain Gel into Arthur Itis’ left knee, and as I did the right one, Cartilage Cathy was giving me what for. Codeine when I’ve finished I thought (But I forgot!).

I did struggle a bit getting the trousers on cause Arthur and Cathy were making things challenging this morning. Overall, I was well pleased with the sessioning. I moved down to Defcon-Three in the Smug-Mode. Again surprising myself at how well things were going, considering the lack of sleep.

My new Chinese (Hong Kong) was made by Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd™, contactless thermometer came up with a body temperature of 33.7°c, which is really low. Tried again with the ear-thermometer. That was better, 34.3°c. The Blood Pressure had gone down nicely to 147/68. The Pulse was 86bpm. Perfick!

Oh, back to the Porcelain Throne!

Yet another good evacuation! Smug-Mode Grade Three Adopted!

A skunk and a clatter from aloof, sniffy attituded Herbert’s apartment above.

🏴‍☠️ Virgin went down. Hard to believe, I know…

Carer Richard rang the ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ chime and came in. I was in the kitchen, suffering from a longish and violent attack from Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley. I was struggling to stir the tea safely. Good old Richard did it for me. He’s never been here when I was having an SSS session; it fritted him a little at first. He’s a caring Carer. Got the prescriptions taken, had a little natter, and even raised a laugh. Off he trotted after selecting some treats.

I went to make another brew, Thompsons Punjana, this time. By, gum, the sky looked like it was getting darker again? I took a snap from the kitchenette window of the front car park, Chestnut Walk.

I waited a while, hoping some birds might fly by, but they didn’t.

Even the cloudy skies looked attractive to me; they seemed to have varying highlights?

Had a wee-wee, washed, made a mug of Thompsons Punjana, and made my way out into the balcony. To take a photograph of the end car park.

Red van man was back blocking the ingress and exit route, fully parked on the yellow chevrons, yet again. Naughty boy! I’m just jealous now that they have taken my driving licence off me after the stroke. Hehehe!

Sister Jane

Sister Jane rang me on the landline. But the signal was terrible… it always is actually from West Bridgford. We had an excellent chinning session. Despite Jane’s croaky voice, my blocked ears, and the appalling connection, I got most of what we were reminiscing about and laughing.

Back to the blogging. I lot of interruptions, Dementia Doreen, cataracts making viewing/typing slow going, and Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley. Peripheral Neuropathy Pete was amazingly calm, so I tried to make the best of this… but I was only causing more errors by trying to rush. Then: Another interruption, window cleaner Joe arrived. But he is always welcome and a good chinwagger, too! We, well, I spoke and moaned a fair bit. Eventually, the subject matter got lighter, and laughter ensued! Selected a drinkie and nibble in thanks, and on he went to another flatlet or apartment, no doubt that will cheer them up!

I came across the picture I thought I’d lost, of last nights’ nosh. Some idiot put it in the wrong folder, TSk! I ate most of it. Gorgeous fresh garden peas, red, yellow and black tomatoes Very nice! Cornish pasty M&S, the best! And BBQ potatoes! Flavour rating: 8⅛/10.

Ye gods, what was that? Kerumph, from the flat above. Well… drilling now! I hope Herbert has not fell-over and broken his neck. I think.

Checked the beef chunks in the crock-pot. These are Icelands “Extra Lean” beef chunks, by the way. Just look at the fat floating freeing around! Eurgh! I sieved some off of the mixture, and I added some gravy browning and black bean sauce… fingers-crossed for tonights’ nosh! Looks horrible?

Going to have to rest a bit now. An unfortunate visit from Dizzy Dennis forces this. Made a mug of Glengettie and ate a rather delightful mini-marshmallow, which tasted so good! I sat down to recuperate from the scary bashing from Dennis at one of his more vicious attacks.

I nodded off, quickly, and a few minutes later, shot-awake, clambered free of the £300 recond-hand recliner, and off for Porcelain Throne visit number three of the day! Giving myself en route, the first good hefty toe-stubbing of the day! Argh! Ahem! I never flinched… or swore at all.

♬ Oh, Susana ♬ chimed out again. It was Phlebotomy nurse Hristina! I immediately cheered up. And girded parts of my loins that had not been fortified since the last time she came! Hahaha! I know; I remember needing the tablets.

Hristina got the blood taken in her usual kind. patient, heart-rate increasing way. ♥ She had time for a minute worth of nattering today, which I appreciated. Had to force the gal to take a treat in thanks. She departed; I was downhearted; I belched, farted, and went for a wee-wee.

Carer ElenaMinutes later, ♬ Oh, Susana ♬ chimed out again. Once more, my heart rate increased… for it was desirable Carer Elena, come to do the medications. We had another natter and laughed. thanked her, offering her choice of nibbles and drinkies, she is always reluctant to take any, but I forced her I thin in the end. ♥ She departed, taking the waste bags with her for me to the chute. 🧡

By gum, I’ve done well with getting all this pulchritude visiting me today!

Got the nosh sorted and served up. A bit better this time. The beef chunks that had been heating in the slow-cooker for seven hours or so tasted better cause of the BBQ and chilli seasonings. The black, yellow and red tomatoes were tasty. The fresh garden peas were terrific! The cheese and bean pastie went down well. Rating: 8.2/10.

Now, I should be getting to sleep… but no! So many visitors, the computer playing up all day, Cataract Kathleen, and Cartilage Cathy joined forces to hamper my progress with the blog. Now it’s going to be (estimated) midnight before I can get it finished. Still, the beautiful ladies of the day perked me up.

Summary of the (better) Day Ode

Beautiful ladies arrived today, but no pas de deux!
Ailments generally were pretty good; no, it’s true!
But Cartilage Kathy chose to turn the pain-screw!
The dying computer’s terrible; I think its death is due…
Fair enough, you’d be right, saying this of me too!

Noisy Herbert above gave me less of a hullabaloo…
Consistently demanding were summons to the loo!
Four visits to the Porcelain Throne was an issue…
Great natters today, more than a few…
They help keep me from feeling too blue!

Caring Carers, cheerful window man Jo, who…
Along with nurse Hristina, they gave good social value!
Without them, I don’t know what I’d do…
Each one leaving left me sadder on their Depardieu…
A betterer day like today has been long overdue!

Evening all!

Inchcock’s Tips & Advice – Part 3

Ordering Food From Sainsbury’s

A risky business if you forget to tick the No-Substitute button on each item ordered. Their best foul-up was substituting a Milk Roll loaf of bread with pikelets. Their worst, and mostly unrelated to the thing ordered, was when I ordered a bottle of disinfectant, and they issued me with a pot of brown shoe polish! The most hilariously opposite was when I ordered Marmite Biscuits, and they sent a box of iced lollies? But with supposedly suitable substitutes from Sainsbury’s record, it’s better to have nothing than something you cannot use or do not like or want!

Questionnaires Letters Official Bumph!

Ah, there will be much of this. All of differing nature, from accusative, mock-caring related, but mainly of a financial nature. Then the circulars, cunningly disguised to look like officialdom paperwork to confuse and con. Plus, of course, notifications of increases in rent, carers fees, reduction in bank interest, medical appointment, debt chasers, and the odd birthday card.

Nottingham City Council Fairer Charging Team, Nottingham Revenues and Benefits Team. Financial Assessment for Social Care Services

Since Coronavirus, thus anticipated to continue forever, are the telephone interviews and questionnaires. Last week, I got a call telling me they would ring me later in the week to fill in a detailed form from the… I love the length of this title… The Nottingham City Council Fairer Charging Team, Nottingham Revenues and Benefits Team. Financial Assessment for Social Care Services. The chap had a clear voice on the phone, so I caught most of what he said. He would ring on Wednesday at a specific time, and we might be on the phone for a while as the questionnaire was several A4 pages long.

Come Wednesday, a different man rang as promised. We started the Q & A’s. Talk about detailed: we were on the phone for over two and a half hours! Mind you, I did have to stop twice, for a wee-wee. (You’ll find this a problem in your dotage!)  Bank details taken? All my ailments were requested, with the effects they cause me, in particular. There are so many, I must have missed some off. I wondered at one time if I should have mentioned the pustules and boils on my bum, but I didn’t bother.

After so long using the phone, Colin Cramps came on in the left hand and fingers. I had to swap to use the right hand, which has Peripheral Neuropathy and is affected by the Stroke. This gave me more pain and hassle, I dropped the phone and got the shakes, and the right knee got a sudden jerk as Peripheral Pete started jerking and jumping, which I thought had broken my patella! All the time, considering what the interviewer must be thinking is going on! I had to stop again. to take a painkiller.

Finally, all done, I was a physical and mental wreck!

Something you whippersnappers might keep in mind for your future mind’s delving into senility. Not an easy thought, I know.

I’ve not heard any reply yet.

  • We may write to your doctor or someone else who can tell us how your disability arrests you.
  • We may arrange for a doctor to examine you
  • We may write to you asking for more information

To me, this blast out a message: You fiddling lying old git! No chance! You can whistle for any financial help from us.

Waking Up!

Firstly, according to how the Whoopsiedangleplops, Accifauxpas and Hassle-Stakes are going at the time, you will either be glad you have woken up again or wish you hadn’t!

Above is an indication of how you will feel as you slowly grasp, work out, or guess at what day and the time it is. The split in your reaction will be about 60/40 in favour of depression!

Medicationalistalisationings

It seems that Vascula Dementia Doris (Who will undoubtedly visit many current Whippersnappers in their old age) had been causing me to get the taking of the medication all wrong. And I’d got into a bit of a mess with it. The Social Services supplied me with Carers, AM and PM, to sort and control my medicines. This has not been the success that I’d hoped it would be… Humph!

I’ve been having the carers call for about two months now. Last week was the fifth time that no one arrived. Not so bad during the week, cause I can get help to call them, and someone in charge will be on site. Which I’ve done four times now.

On one occasion, on a Saturday with no one in the Winwood Court Meridian office, I rang the number and got a central control room, wherever that is. The gentleman (I use the term loosely), answering, got annoyed at my not hearing what he said, and I was stuttering a little, which seemed to bother him somewhat. But someone did arrive shortly after and sorted the medications. But why did they not get in touch on any of the occasions to let me know? I was just told that someone failed to turn up?

Rather annoying, and this meant taking the tablets so much later. Which on one occasion was six hours late, by which time I was in severe pain with Duodenal Donald because the Omeprazole had not been taken! Also, every prescription package from the chemist has had a problem with it. Being late, no Codeines sent, the wrong Peptac… on and on it goes. If the charges go up, or when, I shall have to be vehement in my complaints cause nothing has changed.

Be aware of these problems, Whippersnappers!

Self-Administered Subcutaneous Injections

As you young-uns get older, there is a good chance of you having ticker problems. By-pass, Aorta Valve replacement, DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis etc. Of course, I have been blessed with them all.

Enox3a

In my case, subcutaneous injections are infrequently needed. Only when the INR level gets below 1.0, but it has to be kept in stock just in case, as it could be a lifesaver. Two injections, twice a day. Along with increased Warfarins for a few days, whatever is instructed to me by the Haematology, DVT Clinic at the Queen’s Hospital.

It helps a lot if your chemist supplies hypodermics with needles that are unbent. My chemist is very good at sending them to me (picture above). As well as wrong items on the prescription, missing them off altogether, and failing to deliver them. Who is it?

Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Road, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, near the launderette and pub, is near the ignorant staffed Lidl store. Telephone: 0115 960 5453. Be wary!

Subconjunctival haemorrhaging Eyes

These add colour and depth to your good looks!

Perhaps! Hehe!

Inchcock Ode – Welcome to my world

Welcome To My World

Upon waking, Inchcock will often do a sensual check on any ailment attacks or changes. Sometimes, a discussion will occur twixt Inchcock and a specific ailment, typically one that has been giving him a little extra pain and, or hassle. When these occur, the silly old goat usually makes an Ode and graphic about his demented, dreamt up, nonsensical clap-trapping, as below from an old one.

For some unknown reason, the idiot asked me to show this graphic, as he puts it: ‘Wot I Made!’ cause he’s seems to think it is one of his rare, almost non-existent successes?

As his Alto-Ego, I will now let the uneducated, lonely old fool take over the writing of this rubbish. TTFN.

Once the physical activity starts in the morning, I often wait for the mental conditioning to begin; it usually catches up within a few minutes. It can take hours, but not often.

They were tackled then.

Sphygmomanometer showed Sys and Dia, readings high,
The Wee-Wee chart: I need to drink more! Gin & Dry?
Would it help if I go to a detoxify?
On this mind of mine, I cannot rely!

A quick look for any new damage, I don’t want to oversimplify,
Another bruise was found on the top of my left thigh…
An unknown round welt, right arm, that I can’t quantify,
The torso seems to have started to transmogrify?
Heart Op Scars raised, itching again, certainly uglify!
The broken Terence Tooth hit the pain-boards bullseye!
Shuddering, Shoulder Shirley’s eased off, but why?
Hit my head on the stove but didn’t get a black eye!.

The following tasks were ablutionary,
Not worn any socks since about July,
Cold, Brr! should I dare to use Sock-Glide Georgina?
I’ve no medical aids that are any meaner!
One Sock-Glide injury needed micro-surgery!
Hickeys, bruises, cuts, and a bleeding periphery,
Stubbed toes, damaged knees, I felt all fluttery…
Should I put my socks on? I recalled the imagery,
Of the last time, I fought Georgina, bitterly!
I chickened out of wearing socks; what a mockery!.

Anytime in the next three hours, cometh Meridian,
An incredible variety of Carers, one who is Balearian,
Unless I misheard her, and she is Algerian?
Not that it matters, none of them shows me derision,
An American gal, English, British, and an Assyrian,
All make a positive impression!

Porcelain Throne Sessions

Ah, every visit is a different evacuation, indeed.
Some days it can be half an hour, then I’ve only peed!
Rock-solid torpedoes, agony, things bleed!

Next time, liquid, 30 seconds, messy but what speed!

Housework Tended To

Took the chance to clean the fridge up, ready for the delivery to arrive shortly – well, I hope so.

Iceland Delivery Arriveth!

Then, on with Prepping Josie’s Meal

Got it delivered almost on time for her.

I was so proud of how Josie liked the look and smell,
The beef arrived two hours later, took in the dish for the gal.
Water chestnuts, potatoes, tomatoes, beef chunks as well,
Leeks and onions, chilli, three beans, the lovely smell!
Seasoned with liquid smoke, paprika, beef flavour gel,
Said she loved the cream Pretzel,
Even called me an old Angel!
I mentioned the extra lidded pot for the Damsel,
To have later, quantity double,
Too long at her door, I did not dwell,
I sensed she was hungry… Oh, yes, I can tell!

End Car Park

End car park area busy today.

Evening Views

I shall have to go now. Most likely the evening Carer will crave my body, mind and bank account… Ahem!

Classy TFZer Gentlemen!

“A pessimist is a person who has had to listen to too many optimists.”

INCHCOCK TODAY

Friday 12th March 2021

ITALIANO: Venerdì 12 Marzo 2021

23:25hrs: Horrible ever waking sleep last night. I was in the recliner for about five hours, though, but most of it spent waking up, thoughtless and vague-minded, and waiting to nod-off again! Grubblebleackers!

I got freed from the recliner, caught my balance quickly (Cartilage Cathy was so kind to me this morning, Yee-Ya!) By gum, it was cold in the flat. I wobbled into the kitchen and got the kettle on. Washed last night’s dishes and things and made a brew of Glengettie tea.

Then did the Health Checks. Pleased to see the SYS at 147, DIA 67 and PULSE down nicely to 83bpm. I didn’t adopt any Smug-Mode yet, mind.

I got the contactless thermometer out and was also satisfied with the resulting figure that it produced. 36.6°c – 97.88°f.

I took last night’s missed dosages of medications. (Fool!)

Got the computer on, and much to my surprise, Microsoft allowed me access to Excel and the HC logs to update. (Weich they denied me for all day yesterday – well, each time I tried, it was updating!

I’d let the tea go cold, so I made a Thompsons Punjana and then checked out the wall heaters that were not producing any heat at all! It was bloody cold in the flat, I can tell yers! Methinks I have problems with them!

I started to update the Thursday Diary. Got it finished, despite SSS Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley doing her best to have the right arm torn-off at the glenohumeral joint! Hehehe! Vicious she was, for about an hour solid. That’s never happened before. Not for that long a period. Still, she eased off later. Painfully and persistently, I completed the task, and I posted some snaps to Pinterest.

Then, sent the Diary off to WordPress, emailed the link, and went on Facebooking catch-up. I discovered it was another lovely, loveable TFZer ladies Birthday, so I made a graphic and sent it off to her. Note I’ve lost so much weight… Hehehe! ♥

Made some comments on WordPress. I visited the WP Reader section, then the call to the Porcelain Throne arrived. Off to the wet-room, I hobbled. (Not so bad actually, Cartilage Cathy is still pleased with me and being gentle too!)

What a mess! Loose, yet gooey with it, short-lived, not a lot of it evacuated, and yet the gluey semi-liquid dollop just would not go away! Several refills of the tank by hand from the sink where needed, and five or six flushes! A jolly good job I had toilet paper spares, well that’s what they were, now more will be required, judging by the whole roll needed to clean things up.  Flibblegonkackles!

Apart from so many dropsies thanks to SSS, the stand-up session was only worthy of one mention with a difference. That was after nasal cleaning, teeth cleaning, shaving, bathing, and medicating…

Getting the socks on! It was even funny at the time! I forced the right leg up a little, wedged my bum on the door corner, got the sock part way on, and lost my grip (I do a lot of that!). The cotton sock shot off, hit the back of the closet box, and plonked down into the WC water! I tried to replicate what I would have been doing and made a photo of it afterwards. Another pair of socks were utilised. The legs seem to be retaining fluid again?

The Iceland Foods delivery is due twixt 06:00 > 08:00hrs, but I’d got the ablutions sorted early enough to do the hand-washing in the kitchen sink sorted. All done, wrung, and hung above the sink on hangers. The Lily and Yang Yang scent in the Surf soap powder has a delightful smell.

I took a Canan camera photo of the morning view as I put the kettle on and made a mug of Glengettie brew.

I checked the heater in the kitchen, and it was warm now; I turned it up somewhat, as the weather forecast is so gloomy for the next 24-hours.

I took a shot of Chestnut Walk and the car park on it.

Time getting close now for the food to arrive. After it does and I get it stored away, I’ll see how supplies look and if another Sainsbury order might be a good idea, depends on what slots are available. Sometimes it’s a long wait to get one.

I did some updating on this post and then made another brew, Thompsons Punjana, this time. No time to drink it, the intercom rangeth and flashed, it was the Iceland Food delivery arriving, I pressed the entry button and awaited his arrival.

The Iceland man dropped the begs… begs? Yet another cock-up wiv me grammar, Tsk!), bags I meant, through the doorway for me. Slipped him a choice of cans of plonk, and off he trotted on his mission to feed the nation!

I took the carriers through to the kitchen and went on the internet to see if anything was short delivered or substituted.

Does yer know, there wasn’t a single substitution, and nothing short delivered… Even more surprising, there was nothing found to be short-dated either, as well, besides! Iceland outdid themselves with this delivery, a definite, very welcome first!

I was well pleased, but of course, I’d not checked for any damaged, crushed or leaking goods yet, so I resisted going into a Smug-Mode for the time being.

I set about putting the frozen stuff away first. As you can see in the photograph here on the right, it was all healthy living stuff. Well, I forgot to get the chips. Hahaha! Still a kid at heart, I am!

Next, I put away the fridge items, far better foodstuffs. Topside beef slices, pork & Pickle mini pork pies, sweet chilli chicken, chicken thighs, potato salad, egg-mayonnaise, and some strawberry and whipped cream desserts. Now I’ve put the spell checker on; the previous sentence had eight mistakes on it! Ahem! Got the other stuff in the bathroom and cupboards.

The YourArea magazine arrived, so I investigated. The lottery winner had been sentenced for his appallingly dangerous driving in which he killed a 75-year-old lady in the car he’d drifted across the road, and his BMW then crashed head-on into an oncoming Ford Fiesta.

I say sentenced; he got away with a 16-week suspended sentence and a one-year driving ban! For a £45 million lottery winner, that’s really going to bother him, innit! And the poor husband has lost his wife through Topham’s ignorance of the law and lack of concentration in driving, and I believe still in the hospital.

The now 31-year old Topham said in court: “I honestly don’t believe I thought about what I was about to do,” he said. “If I could take it back, I would, but I can’t.” (Me, me, me!) Huh! Generalfeldmarschall Friedrich Paulus said that after Stalingrad, will have to find money from his £45m for taxies? Some sodding deterrent that was! Was the jury back-handed? Just asking! I bet he the had best expensive lawyers!

At least I found some goodish news on the Covid-19 figures locally.

I decided to get some late brekkers.

I called Warden Deana on the phone, got a recorded message.

Phone the Doctors Surgery, got a recorded message.

I went to make a brew of Glengettie, and I took a tumble as I bent down to check the heat not coming from the radiator. Clouted the head on the ledge on the way down, and SSS started to play up as I struggled back up onto my feet with the help of the stove.

Made the tea and had a sit-down. I’m not sure what happened then, but I assume I fell asleep cause it was hours later when I seemed to wake-up, head pounding. I took a Codeine 60g. I didn’t feel poorly, just confused.

Did some updating of this post, but concentration was not coming to me easily.

It’s still a bit of a blur. No notes on the pad had been added, so I assume I’d nodded off again cause I woke up in the recliner. Feeling peckish, I made a meal of sorts made up. Didn’t enjoy it much, but I’ve had worse, though. A taste rating of 6/10 was given.

I had a surreal few hours then.

In the morning, I found these photographs of the TV screen on the SD card?

Yes, it beats me why, as well!

After perusing the pictures, I assumed that I’d been watching, or falling asleep to and waking, Law & Order, Tales of the unexpected, many adverts and commercials, and possibly even a Nightmare Kitchen episode?

All I can remember for definite is that I was having difficulty in getting to sleep. I did keep nodding off, I think, but the nods only lasted a few seconds each time?

I noticed it was 19:00hrs on the clock, then went into a Thought Storming period.

A bad one, guilt, despair, mistakes, isolation, depression and fear all played a part. These went on for ages, with some emotional events from the past repeating!

I was fighting with my memory for some unknown reason, and I became self-loathing in the process.

I was pointless concerning myself with banal questions and seeking positive answers; Had I been to the Porcelain Throne today? What to do about the ear-ache? I must get a Sainsbury order done tomorrow, etc., on and on the silliness of life came at me, sadly, along with the regular guilt, shame and embarrassment. I really did feel so; what’s the word I’m looking for… lambasting and self-chastising. Oh, that’s two words!

I did eventually nod-off, and when I woke up, I wondered if my memory had been warped as I recalled how I’d felt, but the sense of doom and gloom was no longer lingering?

Isn’t life funny at times?

INCHCOCK TODAY

Wednesday 10th March 2021

Welsh: Dydd Mercher 10fed Mawrth 2021

23:20hrs: I woke with a bit of start, and as I began to free my overly-stomached torso from the £300, second-hand, c1968 recliner, a few thought came at the same time to me. First, Cartilage Cathy’s pain was as bad as yesterday, then the lack of noise from the ‘Hum’ permeated through to me. But I could hear the machinery noises from, presumably from the rooftop plant room!

As I got up on my feet to catch my balance, Cartilage Cathy gave a nervous-making wobble and had me holding onto the chair, then a realisation dawned… “There were no gurgling and rumblings from the innards” Amazing! It seems that the Numark Instant Diarrhorea tablets from Amazon that I took last night had worked miracles… I had to curb my enthusiasm, though. With my luck, you never know what disaster, embarrassment, Accifauxpa or Whoopsiedangleplop lay ahead! However, I could not resist going into a Semi-Smug-Mode, all the same. I awaited the arrival of the Throne visit with a certain trepidation.

I got the computer on, checked the Pill-boxes from Amazon Tracker. Then realised I’d made a cock-up with it. (Yes, I know it must be difficult for you to understand a young man, of my alertness, education, attentiveness, sharp-wittedness, and diligent meticulousness can get things so wrong! Gesuntight! I’d ordered two and needed four to cover for the monthly prescriptions! What a plonka! So, I ordered two more. The first two are expected today, the next on Thursday. Had a wee-wee.

I make a brew of Thomsons Punjana tea. Neuropathy Pete was giving the right side of me a decent shaking every time I walked or stood up. SSS Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley joined in occasionally.

I got the Health Checks done then. The temperature was a little high again at 37.6°c – 99.7°f. However, I was well-pleased with the BP results this morning. SYS down to 148, DIA at only 74, and the PULSE a decent 83. Had a wee-wee.

I updated the BP log in Excel. Yes, Microsoft, let me gain access to the programme again today! They seem to be improving – no, I shouldn’t have said that, knowing how often the damned thing goes down! A bit of pushing my luck there. When will I ever learn? Hahaha! I took the morning medications.

I made a start on the much longer to do than yesterday updating for the Tuesday Diary. This was because of the Matron’s visit and late deliveries of the tablets. Which needed uploading and sorting before going in the post.  I did get it finished in the end, and I Pinterested some snaps. Then had a look at the Emails as I sent the link off.

Sister Jane had sent a photograph of their last cat still with us, Alberto!

He had had his picture printed in the West Bridgford newspaper! Fame at last! It was apparently used as a header for an article about Fun Pet Facts!

I made sure I’d updated and posted the Tuesday blog. Emailed the link. Had a wee-wee.

Went on the WordPress Reader section. Not much on it today, but what there were, was excellent. I passed some comments on many of them.

I hobbled into the kitchen and got some leeks prepped; it took me a while. Really mud-covered inside the leaves today. Sliced them and put them in the crock-pot, seasoned with a couple of vegetarian Oxo cubes added as a flavouring. I’ll put the heat on later, but meantime, they can be marinating. Nothing, like a good marinationing! Hahaha! Had a wee-wee.

There were no signs of any need for the Porcelain Throne yet. I’m hoping things will not have gone back in favour of Constipation Konrad?

I made a  brew of Glengettie tea, and then I got on with starting this blog going. It was a slow job, not through any ailments particularly, just a sudden loss of concentration for some unknown reason. After a few hours,

I checked on the email from Sainsbury’s to make sure about the ETA for the delivery. Well, they don’t like it when I opt for no substitutes, do they! The bread is going to be short dated now! They always win in the end. Swine! And they have cream doughnuts either!

I had a look at today Amazon tracker for the pill pods. Oh, dearie, me! This one is going to be arriving so late in the day again.

According to the tracker, it isn’t even out for delivery yet; that’ll ruin my sleeping pattern for sure! And then again tomorrow when the others arrive?

I feel down a bit now. Staying up late creases me up! But on the bright side… Nope, there isn’t a bright side or silver lining to this problem! Cragknackles! I’d better get the ablutions done quickly, ready for the food order! The session was a rushed one, as I kept dropping stuff too often, for Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters were playing me up something awful. I didn’t bother fighting to get any socks and went barefoot; well, I had my slippers on.

I’d not long been out, sorting out the black bags and getting them into the box on the walker. But I dare not go out to take them to waste chute and risk missing any of the deliveries that are due today.

When the intercom sounded, and the Sainsbury deliveryman arrived. He put the items in the box and bag, waited for me to check the short date on the milk roll (sell by 11th March, Tsk), but it felt soft enough) I thanked the lad, and he refused a can of vodka in thanks and shot off!

Now, the next twenty-five minutes were spent unloading and taking pictures of all the delivered food. I thought of witty quips to put on each one; eight photographs were taken with the Kodak – Taking the ninth and last one, the Kodak bleeped! Puzzled, I investigated, but the screen had cleared by the time I got to view it? I put everything away and went on the balcony to get some good shots of the view. I took what I thought were some cracking ones… then the Kodak bleeped again…

It was telling me that the camera storage was full! I had failed to put the SD card in! And I have no idea how to get the camera to let me use the memory? I think I am losing it in realtime now!

I was fervidly angry, indeed infuriated with myself! I swore at myself openly, questioning my own parentage! What a moron! All that time and effort for nothing!

Angry and cursing, I went out onto the balcony to retake a couple of photos. I took two, then dived back inside and shut the window, as the rain saw me a sent down a torrent to try and drown me. I took two shots through the glass. And people wonder why I’m neurotic, distraught, twitchy, nervous, apprehensive, unconfident, and jittery? This is one example of why, a proven born loser-addicted, and well-acquainted with failure! Ha-ha! Now I was getting miffed, riled and hacked-off with things! Still, never-mind, eh!

French Horns

Naughty, but nice!

Trying to work out how to get the camera and computer linked together was another total failure, but that’s alright – I’m used to it. : However, I did find out how to turn on the Micro-mode on the Kodak camera. Yahoo! I decided my first effort in Macro mode photography would be the packet of Fresh Cream French Horns! Unfortunately, it took me eight attempts to get this one taken; all the others were over-smudged?

The Smug-Mode was destroyed when I couldn’t remember how to turn off the Macro-Mode, and finding how I’d got it on in the first place was now beyond my capabilities! Sad, innit? I’ll have to try again later and use the Canon camera again. The Kodak Pixpro AX 651 is just too confusing for this old-fart to master using.

Working on the diary, and I heard the voice of Desk-Top Dancer, ILC, Warden Deana, as she came into the flat. Lovely to see her again. She’s come to do a wristlet alarm check. But we lost contact with Nottingham City Homes (Monitoring) Control room. She tried again, and someone spoke with Deana, I couldn’t decipher or hear properly what was said, but they were having problems, I think. Said she’d have to try again later. I told Deana I’d make an alarm call later on. We chatted for a few minutes, and I had a laugh. Mostly me, moaning about the Astra-Seneka after-effects and not being able to contact the Doctor about it. She had to shoot off on her rounds, which left me somewhat down in spirits. Poor old twit!

AntiD I must say, the Numark anti-diarrhorea tablets seem to have done their job. I’m very impressed. No signs of any needs of the Porcelain Throne, all day long, yet! I just pray that things don’t turn into Constipation Konrad mode! Trotsky Terence is not showing any of his (usual for the last two weeks) bubbling, brewing and gurglings at all.

I checked on the Amazon Tracker and was pleased to see the van was only three stops away from the flats. So, I took the waste bags to the chute and a bag of recyclables down to Roberts’ (Caretaker) bin. In time to catch the van arriving and saving him/her the bother of coming up to the flat.

I was going to take the camera with me to take some outside shots but managed to forget to take it with me, the same as I forgot the keys with the fob on to get back inside the flats and take the mobile phone with me. Well, I might as well just forget everything, that’d be good, cause I wouldn’t know if I had or not? Hehe!

I had a minute or so natter with Robert. And got back inside when he went into the lobby.

Minutes later, the driver arrived, she had eight small parcels in her arms, and I asked if any was for number 72. She handed me the package, and I hobbled, hassled by Cathy’s Cartilage back up to the flat.

I opened the box, and the pill-pods looked suitable if a little on the small side. Now I have to go through all this again tomorrow when the next two arrive. Then I can be ready to use these next month when the prescriptions arrive and make things a little more orderly in the medication stakes.

French Horns I got the nosh sorted out, making sure that the strawberry jam & fresh cream French Horns were not missed off of the tray. Hehe! Of course, I only eat them because of medical conditions. Or should that be mental conditions? Ahem!

The short-dated milk roll bread from Sainsbury’s wasn’t eaten; it was too dry for my tastes. Serves me right for accepting it! But all else was! The tomatoes were a bit bland. The Chilli-chicken was okay. The peas and leeks went down well! The Iceland canned potatoes were a good advert for cardboard-flavoured foods! Taste-Rating: 6/10.

The metabolism was satisfied with this meal, though. I got the things washed-up and settled down in the £300, second-hand, c1968, cringingly-beige-coloured, not-working, rickety, incommodious, grotty recliner, to watch some TV, somewhat later than usual with having to stay up for the delivery. But Sweet Morpheus was welcoming for once. I drifted off for five uninterrupted, dream-free hours of bliss! Bodacious!

Aspergillosis Inchies Diary – Sunday 31 January 2021

TFZer Lillie, and her Butler having a shoe clearout?

Sunday 31 January 2021

Scots Gaelic: Didòmhnaich 31 Faoilleach 2021

I woke several times, and I thought I’d start keeping a record of future ones on the notepad.

22:50hrs: Woke wearily, passed wind, and fell back to sleep.

23:55hrs: Woke, feeling tired. Nodded off again.

00:10hrs: Woke, thought about giving up. Passed-wind. Fell asleep.

01:30hrs: Woke, coughed, and drifted off again.

01:45hrs: Woke, Anne Gyna bother, back to kip again.

02:30hrs: Woke, Anne Gyna bad, more wind passed, and the need of a wee-wee, finally forced me into semi-activity. I rose, hauling my stupendously wobbly-bellied body up onto the feet from the Grotty, £300, second-hand, c1968, unsteady, not-working, incommodious, excruciatingly beige-coloured, haemorrhoid-testing recliner, and caught my balance. Anne Gyna was as painful as she’s been for months. I waddled over to the overnight wee-wee bucket and had a wee-wee of the SP (Short-Powerfull) type. No pre or after-dribbling.

I then took the evening medications I’d missed, last night. Putting in a strictly as needed only (two a day), “Advise Your Doctor”, Nitroglycerin sublingual tablet, letting it dissolve fully. Next, an extra pain-killer. Anne Gyna was a right pain this morning! I must remember to take the morning doses later.

With it being so long since taking these, I double-checked the instructions: A; Sit down – B: Place tablet under tongue. – C: Wait for Five-minutes. D: Do not swallow the tablet. E: If not better, repeat A to C. – F: No improvement? Call 999. I did it right then, now carry on and see how things go.

I was feeling proper shackered, but not low or miserable with it, just drained. Sweet Morpheus has not been kind to me these last few nights. And with Anne Gyna kicking off, a smidge of ‘feeling-sorry for-myselfness’ lingered. Hey-Ho!

I got the computer going, and I threw my attention at getting the updating of yesterdays IT, done. The wee-wees continued throughout, but each one was of the WUNT (Weak-Unwilling-Negligible-Trickling) style now. At long last, I got the updating finished. Posted it off, emailed the link, and did some Facebooking.

Then. I made the first brew of Glengettie of the day.

Sorted some waste bags out and got them in the box on the walker. I’ll need to take these to the waste chute later on, but must get the computing done first, then prepping Josie’s meals to be done. Oh, I can’t go out in case the delivery arrives… The Thought Storms were at it again!

Tried again to clean the crock-pot basin. I thought I’d done a decent job, but when I put the bowel back in the slow-cooker, I realised I hadn’t done a half-decent job cleaning it at all! I had another go, but the mushroom skins were glued to the porcelain! I put it in soak again. Humph!

I went onto the WordPress Reader section. Next, onto the WP comments. I’d missed these yesterdays, Tsk! It took me over an hour, but I was just glad I’d not missed them again, and I replied to them all. Sorry that it was late, folks!

Then a wee-wee, the kettle filled and turned on, and the moon suddenly came out from the clouds.

That did it – I resolved to get a decent picture of the moon, this time, surely one of them might come out alright? I think since I lot the Nikon, and night shots being so frustratingly bad with the Canon, I may have gone into withdrawal symptoms time. Hahaha! I rushed to get the camera before the clouds hid the moon.

Had I took these with the much-missed and lamented Nikon, I’d have thought they were average at best. But with the Canon, they were much better than usual.

Anne Gyna kicked off again with a venom!

I got the Health Checks done then. Starting with the Boot’s made in China Sphygmomanometer. At least the SYS had fallen from yesterday, down to 159!

The made in Hong Kong, by the Chinese Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer, showed another decent level of 36.5°c, well in the acceptable green area.

Anne Gyna pains may need me to summon some help if she doesn’t calm down soon. It’s such a struggle to concentrate with the stabbing all around the ribs and chest areas. I dare not take another Nitroglycerin tablet now, with only two being allowed per day, if I did imbibe another one, there would be nothing effective to try if she is still as bad tonight… Poor old thing. I might have a search to see if I have any spare Bisoprolol (Beta-blockers they are used to help treat high blood pressure, angina and heart failure), and take it now, cause things are getting a little nervous-making with Anne Gyna. Yes, I’ll have a look for any spare.

Aha, I found one. I got sidetracked in searching, made up another waste-bag, and sorted out the kitchen towels that had dropped on the floor? Hehe!

I took it, and made a note on the pad, that if things were alright in the morning, not to take the regular one, but keep it safe if needed later on! Fingers crossed, this will ease things a little. I made a brew and took these snaps of the view outside. First a downward photo of the bottom field with the ice and frost looking dodgy. Then another one of the Chestnut Walk car park.

I turned off the computer, checked around that I’d not left anything on or off that shouldn’t be, and got off to get the ablutions done. I needed the Porcelain Throne anyway.

As I got the shower turned on as I entered the wet room, I realised that the ear-cleaning thingies may arrive while I was inside. So, I returned to check on the computer to see what the ETA was. Ah, they may come soon… I decided to skip the showering to save time.

I utilised the Throne first. It was giant meatballs this time. Bloody painful as well. Still, no mess and no bleeding, so, no complaints.

The teeth cleaning did not go very well, Toothache Thomas was angry. The shaving went average, the two activities saw only four dropsies! I seriously considered going into Smug-Mode, but you know my luck, so I didn’t!

The legs ankles and feet did look okay, though there might be a bit of water-retention building up again, I’ve not had that for weeks now.

Cathys Cartilage was the only ailment that was playing up badly. She does that every now and then, for no apparent reason… I suppose that’s why I’ve given her a female ailment name. Hahaha! Only joking! I should have called Austin, after my Allegro, or Estelle after my Skoda that kept playing up?

When I came out to get dressed, I checked the delivery status on the Amazon site. It didn’t look like it had moved to me. The ETA was the same. Oh, dear, not another sleep-stopping delivery time?  Please! Grobbleknackercraps!

I couldn’t find the wristwatch tp put back on. A look in all rooms and the wet room too failed to locate it. Not to fret, it’ll show up later somewhere. I don’t mind, but these Rolex ones ain’t cheap yer know… oh, alright then… I got it from the second-hand charity shop in Sherwood when I moved into the flats, for £2, Hehehe! Within a month it needed a new battery for £18, and a new strap £10. It’s also gone rusty, yet still keeps going!

On the bright side, I’ve just noticed that Anne Gyna is easing off a lot now! Yahoo!

I got the handwashing done in the kitchen sink. I gave it a lot of the Wilko Yan-Ling Chinese made fabric conditioner as I rinsed it out. Got it all done, wrung and hung to drip-dry above the sink

Then, the first proper Accifauxpa of the day! As I turned away from the sink, loss of Balance Brian attacked and momentarily confused, as I started to go down, instead of grabbing the sink unit, I got hold of the long dustpan brush handle. Which, weighing about 4 ounces and made of plastic, surprisingly didn’t afford me any support at all!

Why you may ask, didn’t I grab the sink then? That’s a problem with these sudden losses of balance, the judgement of distances goes to pot at the same time. They are not very good even when things are normal, Tsk!

Anyway, I landed on the right knee – Cathy Cartilages.  I think I may have invented some new curse word in the press! Har-har!

This all put me behind on the Sunday Chef duties, and I concentrated on getting Josie’s meal prepped and served up. It looked passable to me, and I still got it served to her door around the usual hour of midday! Smug-Mode gave way to!

Josie opened the door, said the meal was too big, said something else I couldn’t catch, smiled and shot back indoor with her dinner and weekly carrier with the treats. I think she wanted to get back to the hone with her Sister, my EQ said so, anyways.

I then got back to the flat, cleaned up the mess from hurried meal prepping, had a weak wee-wee, washed, and went on the computer. Cartilage Cathy was still upset with me, but Anne Gyna was much kinder now.

Afterwards, I sat a few moments, pondering on the food situation, I decided to see what slots were available for Iceland. I checked the Amazon tracker first, Same ETA, same place on the progress slide? This is how yesterdays went, and you know how late that came! Oh, dearie me!

When I opened the Iceland site, I found a Priority slot, for Saturday 6th February, 06:00 > 08:00hrs. All selected? So, I made an order, but it was all hit and miss. Four things I wanted were not available – how do they know that this early? Hmm? I got the order in and received a confirmation via email.

I spent a few hours updating this blog. The weariness was beginning to show itself, it is beyond my usual head-down time. Now the struggle to stay awake begins!

Unbelievable, the tracker is at the same position with the exact ETA, as it was hours ago? I’ll have a look to see if there is an email about it… hang, on…

An hour later.

I do believe the progress bar has moved a tiny little bit. But it could be me not thinking that it cannot have stayed in the same place for so long?

But, I waffle, to keep awake methinks.

I got the Chilli-Con-Carne and meatballs in Chilli sauce into the pan, added some peas, and keep nipping through to stir and check on it. No fresh stuff left now, the onions, leeks, carrots and peppers have gone, or thrown away through ageing, Hahaha!

I found today’s figures for local Coronavirus cases. Mayhaps a teeny-weeny bit uplifting? No?

Okay!

Oh, check the food… Turned it off and put the lid on. Not only might sleep not be arriving, but the meal may not be either at this rate, Ama-late-again-zon, that should be their new name!

Still no movement on the Tracker slider from hours ago?

I vainly and stupidly looked outside, thinking perhaps the track has broken and the man may be coming now… Humph!

The cold crisp air of the night brought me back to reality – he’s not going to come for hours yet… even if then! Still, I managed to take two half-decent night shots for once.

I’m clinging on to find a Silver Lining in all this, but, no chance.

Sleep, precious sleep has been destroyed through no fault of my own (I think), for several days, or I should say nights. I’m jiggered! Then I found this. Humph!

Ah! the tracker has changed! I hope it comes soon, I need food and sleep in that order. Shouldn’t be long now, though.

Then, when I was getting my hopes up for food and sleep…

The message on the tracker changed to this one ‘The driver has to make a few more deliveries on his way to your address’, that made me go up to ‘Defcon Three’ status, in the Fed-Up Stakes.

Hahaha!

Frustrated a bit, and so very weary, I summoned the strength to get the thin green quilt hand washed. I got it done, rinsed, wrung and hung above the sink to drip dry. It should be ready by about August.

Then moved the made in Myanmar (Burmese), zip-up jacket, to near the wall heater.

I kept checking on the cooking in between doing the other things.

Then the door chimes rang out… it was Josie, at this time of night, returning the food tray and things from her meal. I tried again to explain to her to please not call after 15:00hrs, that is when I go to get my head down.

Poor gal looked confused. Obviously, I am having to pay for my Sunday chef services with lack of rest. I must have baffled her more, as I explained that had I not been up waiting for the delivery, you would have woke me up again. I’m not sure she understood me. At least she said she enjoyed the meal and treats.

I missed some of course but tried to record where the ‘few’ deliveries I saw recorded were made on the map. Boy, I was mentally shattered!

I just hope I can cope with using the wax-removal after all this hassle.

Eventually, the delivery arrived. Far too tired to do anything with it at this late (for me) hour. I opened it and put it in the second medical drawer down.

Got the Chilli-Con-Carne and meatballs served up, and ate it with some brown bread thins. Really tired, but still enjoyed the meal.

A Flavour-Rating of 7.8/10 for this, well-cooked effort. Even without the missing leeks, capsicums etc.! I got the pots in the sink soaking.

At last, I got down to rest, I fell asleep so soon. Unbelievably I kept making up repeatedly again. The sixth night of this, now!

Wednesday 6th January 2021

Polish: Środa 6 Stycznia 2021 r

23:20hrs: It’s getting back to normal now; I woke up, involuntarily passed wind, and needed a wee-wee. Accompanied by the almost ever-present SSS (Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley), and near-agony from BPB (Back-Pain-Brenda).

Getting my humungously large bellied-body from the £300, second-hand bought, c1968, sickeningly-beige-coloured, not-working, uncomfortable, rusty, rickety, recliner, had its moments. I did the catching the balance motions a little differently, to try and avoid the pain from BPB, and ended up slumping back down in the seat, which annoyed Harold’s Haemorrhoids at a bit. On the bright side, I missed hitting the arms of the chair, or it could have been a lot worse. Tsk! Cartilage Cathy’s patella wasn’t happy with me, either!

I utilised the ONWWB (Overnight-Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket) Cripes, what a difference, it was of the LPPPS (Long-Powerful-Persistent-Peeing) mode. I’ve not moved so much in many a month. No way could I have drunk that much since the last wee-wee, last night? It took me ages, but there was no PMAD (Post-Micturition-After Dribbling).

I adopted my investigative-mode to try to work out why I was running short on the Codeines. I decided that I must have identified the wee small tablets wrong, and I’d taken two Furesomide, which means I’ve missed either a beta-block or Codeine.  (The medications last month arrived without any inner lids, and they all fell out all over the place, and retrieving them was a nightmare, even worse the three tablets mentioned all looked the same to me), Glibblebonks!

I must remember to thank the super-efficient Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, next to the pub, near the launderette and Lidl store, for their care, professionalism and compassion that they have shown to me.

I tackled the Health Checks next. Starting with the Boot’s made in China Sphygmomanometerisationing. The Sys was down from 168 to 168 this time. Not a lot, but better than being up? The Pulse was down from 97, to 92.

The new Chinese made, Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer, showed a reading of 36.8°c. Which shows as being in the green, as acceptable! Compared to yesterdays reading of 37.5 in the red, it is a good one.

Took the medications, dubious as to what I was taking. I’ve had six wee-wees and two small mugs of tea up to now between all these activities. The wees seem to be getting weaker, and less volume, on each one.

I made another brew and took pictures of the view, through the disliked, hard to clean, light & view-blocking kitchen window. Look a tad eerie, don’t they?

These could possibly be used as a thriller, mystery or scary book cover. Hehe! I made a graphic for the diary top, then made another brew, had another wee-wee, and got on with updating yesterdays blog, which took an inordinately long time – but the result of a silver-lining search about this fact was that apart from SSS having a ball trying to dislocate the shoulder, the reason for my delay, was just a lack of concentration… again!

I stopped to make another brew of Glengettie, and had, wait for it, two wee-wees, one after the other?

Got the tea back to the computer, and pressed on and finally got the updating finished. (Phew, worra job that was!)

Made yet another mug of tea, Co-op 99 this time, and hard to believe, but I had another weaker wee-wee!

I posted the blog and email link off. Went on the WordPress reader. Then on Facebooking catch-up. Which I caught up with. Hehehe!

A wee-wee, and yet another mug of Glengettie. Took this photo, of the view, and decided to get the Ablutions done. After yet another wee-wee, that had now died down to a UTD (Unwilling-Trickling-Dribbling) variety. Which did surprise me a bit, cause I was still taking in too much tea!

The full-Monte today. And things went swimmingly on all fronts. (Which is surprising with me being a bad-luck lad, and an aquaphobic) No stubbed toes, no… I say, No shaving cuts! Fair does, Dizzy Dennis called on me a few times in the shower. But overall, a great session. Smug Mode Grade2 adopted! Anyway more good news, the plates and pions were looking fine!

As soon as I left the wet room, a (what proved to be a series of) involuntary right leg Peripheral Neuropathic Schuhplattler dances started. I was close to going over on two occasions as I recall. I clouted my hip on the edge of the doorframe. The shaking of the leg was on and off for about three hours after that. I’ve never had it last that long before. Still, it calmed down in the end, back to the odd little flutters and kicks, which look far worse than they are. Hey-Ho!

Then, back to the wet room, to medicate the areas in need, that for some reason I’d not done earlier. I took the clothes with me to change into after the medicationalisationing was done. And the landline rang and flashed!

Jane and Pete, Jig-Saw Puzzlers supreme

It was Sister Jane, she said she’d ring back and give me time to get dried and dressed. Bless her. We had a great natter when she rang back. I learnt a lot from it; I’m eating too much and the wrong food, should not have Squid sauce with anything but fish, and other gems. Hehehe!

Pete was at the City hospital to get his test results from his second bone marrow testing. He deserves a bit of luck, just for how he’s handled things since the Big C was diagnosed.

The left arm was getting attention from Colin Cramps, we were on the phone that long. I foolishly changed to the right hand, but SSS’s cunningly sudden attack made me drop the phone despite taking care! I banged the right knee trying to catch the handset, and then I had Cartilage Cathy to contend with, Tsk! We still nattered on, though, I was enjoying it. Until the pain of holding the phone with the bent arm, got too much. She was expecting Pete to return soon, and we agreed to give up our repartee.

I made up some waste bags and took them to the rubbish chute. Returned and getting the three-wheeler in the flat, backwards cause it’s usually easier, I caught my ankle bone against the door edge. I recall saying something like, “Well, blow me!”, as I laughed off the incident, as the right leg went into a mini-dance routine, and I hit my toe against the bottom panel. Luckily, me being a heroic man of phenomenal bravery, I was not bothered in the least bit, of course! Ahem!

I stopped crying, as the door chimes rang forth with Dusty Springfields tune to “♫I only want to be with you!♫

It was ILC, Desktop dancer and Warden, Obergruppenfürheress Deana. I asked her if she could ring the Chemist or Doctor’s for me, to get the prescriptions back into packets and not the pill-pods, I know it will mean more struggling for me to make up my own dosage pots, but at least I won’t be running short of medication missed off by the super-efficient Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, next to the pub, near the launderette and Lidl store, and have no lids to allow the tablets to spill all over the place and get lost! Deana told me it was time to take down the Christmas cards, so I did. I took this photo earlier to remind me to ask her, cunning, eh?

I forced her to take some New Year pressies, and she told me to remind her to ring the chemist – Hahaha! Me? Remember?

I rang Jenny and forgot why I was calling her! She had ordered me some minced beef, tp be delivered Sunday afternoon, bless her. I’m sure she will not wake me if they come after 15:00hrs, I can fetch them on Monday morning, I hope. I bothered her to help because the Iceland ones are not very nice, and despite claiming less than 10% fat, looked greasy to me when cooked, a lot of colouring went into the grinder with the meat and fat.

Well shattered now, I’ll try again to make a meal that I can eat all of.

I burnt the peas, made a right mess of the saucepan, and spent ages soaking and cleaning it. Tsk!

I was originally, going to have a steak slice,  but I had to make do with the Morrison substituted chicken and bacon pie. Didn’t find or taste any bacon in it, mind. The Leicester cheesy potatoes came out alright. The Spanish tomatoes were not too bad for once. The specially-burnt garden peas tasted fine! And, the lemon dessert went down a treat.

All in all, a flavour rating of 7/10, I think the taste buds are reactivating, perhaps, maybe, possibly.

I got the pots washed, and finally got the saucepan cleared of the black bits. Good and early, I got down in the c1968 second-hand recliner and got the TV on, Law & Order programmes to watch.

The first one, I must have nodded-off eight or nine times at least, but only for a few seconds or minutes each time. I decided to give up on the telly, and get my head down properly…

Not only did I not have any Thought-Storms, but I drifted off quickly, and the best bit… I stayed in the land of slumber for five-uninterrupted hours! Grrreat!

Sadly Missed!

Monday 4th January 2021

Icelandic: Mánudaginn 4 Lanúar 2021

01:35hrs: In slow motion this morning, the gradual renewal of consciousness arrived, with the brain working straight away! Not very well, a little confused, but activated! Facts, worries, fears etc. soon started milling about in my poor battered mind. Yes, it was a Thought-Storm!

As the toothache got peskier with me, I realised I’d had six-hours-kip! Albeit fragmented, the total was the longest for many weeks. The lack of taste, coughing, and then the blasted-loud ‘Hum’ came to mind. Luckily, the need for the traditional early-waking-wee-wee arrived to break the thoughts.

Disentangling myself from the grotty, £300, second-hand, c1968, unsteady, not-working, incommodious, sickenly beige-coloured, haemorrhoid-testing recliner, was far easier for some reason… oh yes, the urgent need for the wee-wee possibly? Another half-hearted effort, of the UTD (Unwilling-Trickling-Dribbling) variety, this time with a lot of annoying PMAD (Post-Micturition After-Dribble).

I went to the wet room to clean things up, giving the door frame a fair whack on the way in. I may have muttered something along the lines of “Well, fancy that!”

Not the slightest desire for a mug of tea, that worried me a bit. I got the made in China Chinese made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer used. And got a fair result at 36.3°c, a bit down on yesterdays 36.6°c, but it did feel colder all around this morning, Brrr!

The £38.99 Boot’s made in China Sphygmomanometer readings showing that the SYS at 162, was the same as yesterday. If I remember right. Still a smidge high, but it always has been for months now. The annoying thing is that whenever a medical professional takes the BP, the Sys is around 145? Even doing so with the same machine!

A new pain, just under the left nipple on my chest, started up. I don’t think it’s Duodenal Donald or Anne Gyna? The End is Nigh! Well, hopefully, not. Hehehe!

As I was about to start the blog updating, I needed to divert to the Porcelain Throne, which I did. There felt like no rush, though, as it proved when I got down on the Throne. The indications were that the DESB (Daily-Evacuation-Stakes-Battle) between Trotsky Terence and Constipation Konrad, was going to be a different result this time, a victory for Constipation Konrad. And it was! After the torpedo had wedged itself solid, getting the motion started, I needed a lot of effort and input. It took ages before it began moving again. The pain was maybe on a 5/10 on the agony-scale, so not too bad. Not messy at all, solid and the largest dollop that flushing three times failed to clear away!

I added some bleach, toilet cleaner and the last of the sink-unblocker liquid then poked a stick down into the water, left it a few minutes and tried a fourth time at flushing… Nope, it didn’t have it!

I put more bleach in (and got the rear end cleaned, there were just a few blood spots). After each flush, I refilled the tank with the jugs of water from the sink, to hasten the process. I lost count of how man times I refilled and reflushed the tank, and eventually, it looked alright, but I had no confidence and would check it later. Writing this reminded me, and I went to have a look!

Shit! The evacuated product is back up in the bowl again! Another hour lost, unplugging, refilling, flushing, and still, I’m not sure it’s all gone. I’ll leave it, and keep an eye on it, not that I can much more, while I get the ablutions done. Retirement they call it, huh! Never been busier!

I got the blog finished, emailed the link, went on Facebooking, then the WP Reader. I was getting a tad confused at this time.

I turned off the computer to cool down and got the ablutions seen too. The Blood nurse is coming anytime after 08:00hrs. But, yet again, my woolliness, tergiversation of mind activated, and I ended up hand-washing the maroon zip-up jacket, instead. But not before taking this photo of the moon. Tsk! More indecisiveness to the fore! I suppose as a shilly-shallying persons go, I must be the cream? Hehehe!

Blimus O’Reilly, and Dangnationables! I got in the wet room, and the evacuated content was coming back up into the toilet bowl again! I spent even longer than the last time trying to clear things! I got the stick to try to reach and break up the torpedo again, the stick broke. Flushed and refilled the tank several times, to many to count, put bleach down it, toilet cleaner, disinfectant, more bleach, and still it kept coming back up!

Many more flushes and tank refills later, I’d tried the last of the drain unblocker and put mould removal in as well! I’m praying it will keep clear this time, but the water keeps turning a light brown after a minute or so of flushing! I’m fed up with it now! Sulking-Mode engaged!

At last, I got the ablutions started: No showering, it’s too early for that with the noise. The session was off to a bad start, as the toothache was worsened by the Detox toothpaste cleaning. Dropsies three.

Aha, bit if good luck with this. Fair enough there were five or six dropsies, but there were only the two cuts! The medicating went well also, no complaints, and only three dropsies!

As I was getting the new PPs on, I lost balance; but I did not go down this time. Luckily I fell towards the door, which very unfortunately set of SSS with her shoulder-shuddering. Yer, can’t win ’em all!

Then, I noticed the colour of the water in the toilet bowl. Scrapbongles! Brown! So, I flushed and refilled a few times, no success. I had a go at poking with another stick, without any luck. A damned good job I had plenty of bleach in, cause I poured a full bottle in, and left it to hopefully work, while I got dressed.

Back to have a look, reflushed and refilled the tank, and waited. I’m still not sure it worked, but at that moment it was almost clear. I can get depressed, you know!

I took this shot with the Canon camera. Then put the kettle on, it’s about time I tried a mug of Glengettie.

More out of habit than really needing or wanting one. The taste-buds going on strike is a puzzle to me. Back to the computer, and booted it up, and downloaded some photographs. Not that the Microsoft Photo thing was working again. I’ve found that when the One-Drive photo thing refuses to recognise the SD card, if I go on CoralDraw, and import, sometimes the F-Drive comes up, and I load from there, as it was today. If I leave the SD card in the drive, sometimes, anything from 2 minutes to an hour later, the One-Drive crap opens and reads the card? Farcical!

As I was uploading the pictures, the intercom flashed. It was the Vampir Nurse, bless her, Caroline; I think her name is. I pressed the admit button, and the gal was up and in the door within two minutes!

A nice natured gal. She did not mess about getting the blood taken, but she had the nouse to chinwag while doing it.

This was marvellous for me, after seeing nobody, and going chinwagless for several days now. Apart from Josie, of course. Who, I am the proud Sunday Chef for, and someone for her to wake up nearly every week. Haha! Bless her!

Caroline soon had me sorted out, and with a part-armful of blood, she went to leave. But I wasn’t having her go without a treat of a can of plonk of her choice. Being her first port-of-call so as to put it, I could understand her rushing a bit, to try and make a good start to the day.

I took the belated morning medications and back on the computer to update this blog.

Doing the pleasing job of CorelDraw graphics was still needed, so I had a quick look at the comments and then got on with it. Three hours later, the wariness dawned, a bit later than usual – that’ll be because I was enjoying doing the graphics for the blog templates. Unfortunately, I still have some more to do yet. But I made progress with them.

Feeling not so bad now, I feel up to some chilli-con-carne, I’ll do some cobs in the oven to go with the CCC.

I’ll be back in the morning, or later this evening to update things. TTFNski.

Tuesday 01:30hrs: I’m back, updating.

I got the Chilli-Con-Carne can in the saucepan and added some Squid Sauce (Anchovy),  made some gravy and added it with the garden peas. O actually felt I could manage this, at last, I felt hungry again. I’ve not been sop desiderate over a meal in weeks, I just hope to eat it and enjoy it. It looked like it was well-eatable to me.

I put the rolls in the oven, to find one single one in there from yesterday, that had now been cooked twice. Haha! Ah. Well, at least I was still feeling hungry, but not for that cob, of course.

I got the meal served up in the basin and the cobs on the tray. Down in the recliner, put the TV on to watch, got ‘The Bunker’ showing on TV film on, and started to wallow in the food, and enjoy the film. Peace, contentment and satisfaction, great!

The landline light flashed, oh, dearie me, what timing. I fought my way out of the recliner without any Accifaupas and got to answer the phone in time before it rang off.

T’was the Doctors surgery receptionist, with the results of the INR test, and new dosages. The INR level was down to 1.7, and she checked that I had any loaded in-date,  Enoxaparin hypos in stock. I told her I had about eight 80mg needles in hand. (I’m not sure how I knew this but felt sure I was right I was wrong as it happens, Humph!) The patient nice receptionist gave me the new dosages for Warfarin.

Which was massively increased, considering the 1.7 level, I thought. Tonight 3, Tue 2.5, Wed 3, Thurs 2.5, Fri 2.5, Sat 3, Sun 2.5. And she will arrange a blood test for Monday, 12th January. The blood will be that thin, I anticipate Little Inchies fungal lesion, and Harold’s Haemorrhoids to be bleeding well after a couple of days. Maybe I could use the Warfarin intake as my main meal for a few days? Hehehe! I thanked the kind lady.

Putting these details on the calendar, I noted that someone from the DVT, Warfarin Anticoagulation team will be contacting me tomorrow? I can’t remember this being arranged, or happening? I made notes of the details of the call.

Back to the now gone cold, Chilli-con-carne, but I still ate it all up. Although the last session, I didn’t enjoy so much. Lost the plot in the film, turned it off, and put some radio music on instead.

Which I think helped me to nod-off. Cause I got five hours sleep in! Grrreat!

Sethoso: Moqebelo Oa La 2 Pherekhong 2021

022:10hrs: After a grand four-hours kip, I stirred back into a mock, ersatz, imitation life, in need of a wee-wee.

I started to sing ♫Oh, what a beautiful morning♫, bounded up sprightly springing out of the recliner, and hastened skippingly to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket). I passed a healthy, powerful, light coloured wee-wee…

Oh, alright then; I struggled out of the £300, rusty second-hand, c1968, cringingly-beige-coloured, not-working, rickety, incommodious, grotty recliner, and somehow manipulated my horrendously flabby, overly-stomached wobbling body up on its feet. Caught my balance, and limped to the bucket, and spent a few minutes waiting for the wee-wee to start, and few more waiting for it to stop.

Washed my hands, and started the Health Checks, then took the medications.

Disconcertingly, the Boot’s made in China Sphygmomanometer, gave a higher reading for the SYS, up again!

The previous two readings, Thursday; 178, Friday; 184, and this morning, it had climbed to 189! Not good, this?

However, the Chinese’s body temperature made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer, was back down and in the green. I’m not doing very well here, am I? Tsk”, Spurgledamnations! and Hogglebogwash!

I made a start on the updating of yesterday’s post. Got it finished and posted off to WordPress. During which, I only needed two wee-wees, and the taste of last nights Marmite feast kept coming back up. I liked it! Hehehehe! Went on the WordPress reader. Then the blog comments.

Emailed the link. Did the Facebooking catch-up. A better than average, for me, TFZer graphic (top of this page) was created, it is TFZer Keith, who has just got home from a week or more in the hospital, with the bloody Coronavirus! Hope it cheers him up a tad. Good luck, mate!

A summons to the Throne arrived, and it felt imperative that I got to the Throne in time… Oh, dear! But I managed it.

It was yet another mammoth content affair, it needed a fair bit of input from me to get things moving, and rid the innards of it, too! Which went against the earlier believe that things were going to be under the control of Trotsky Terence. Constipation Konrad was back in charge. The crossword book had a good bashing in between the starting and stopping of the torpedo’s evacuation. Hehe

Washed the hands and as I was doing so, a noise like yesterday morning was heard. Much like heavy machinery starting up, followed a minutes later, the sound of it dying down again. I wonder if anyone else heard it? Ah, well, as I am in lockdown, the chances of seeing anyone, to ask them is minimal.

I nipped to the kitchenette to make another brew of Glengettie, and crack my ankle knuckle on the door frame edge. Naturally, I merely laughed at the pain, smiled and carried on to make the brew… but the innards rumbled, and a second summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived, off to the wet room I hobbled.

Well, this visit was totally different than the one that was taken only a few minutes ago?

Trotsky Terence easily won the ESB (Evacuation-Stakes-Battle) Constipation Konrad was defeated this time!

How come, the change? Why? What’s going on here? The blood pressure is going ape-shit! The Porcelain Throne visits are different every time! The wee-wees are, too! Shit is going. The skin varies from pale to almost transparent! The balance is so variable, but why? And another thing is why it is always holiday times when people are not available to get help from, that these things happen? Hey-Ho! Rant over!

As I was washing after the evacuation, I spotted a new burst of veins coming through on the right leg. And, a new spot developing and growing quickly, well several of them. Ah, well, back to the computerisationing.

The sounding much-like heavy machinery starting up, followed minutes later with the sound of it dying down again, just repeated itself once more. I’ve started shivering for some reason, feeling so cold. I checked the heater, its warm, but only just? Looked at the thermometer-humidity thingy, then checked it against the wall thermometer. One indicates it is 38°c, the other 23°c? Was it something to do with the heating, the noise I mean?

The temperature on the wall thermometer puzzled me a bit. So I picked it up to investigate further, in my Sherlock Holmesian, style. Guess what? It shattered to pieces in my hand! The mysteries of Qoodthorpe Court, returning? Humph!

I got breakfast made up. I really did feel hungry and made a decent plateful. Once I settled to eat it, I could manage even a quarter of it. Everything tasted different than I expected? Horrible! Even the mini pork and pickle pie and MArmite cheese were tasteless. The majority of it ended up in the bin. What a shame!

Back to CorelDraw to do some graphicalisationing for later on. A couple of hours later, the weariness dawned, I continued to update the blog for another hour or so, and oddly the hunger returned? What’s going on here? Beats me! I went to get the main meal sorted out. I got the meatballs in the oven cooking, and the CCC (Chilli-Con-Carne) in the saucepan (canned today). I must order some more minced beef.

As I took a wide shot of the view out the window, I noticed what looked like another fire. I took a zoomed-in shot of what looked like the Basford area,.

Then got the meal served-up and in the dish. It looked good, I’d got the milk roll bread to soak up the liquids, and started the feasting… Oh, sod-it! The taste goblets were still flat. I’m sure I cooked the meatballs right, this should have been a right treat to gustatory cells. But again, half of it was thrown away. Tsk!

I put the things in the kitchen, turned off the computer, and sat down, to have a ponder over things. I think I fell asleep straight away…

I woke at 23:00hrs, feeling uncomfortable in mind and body.

Friday 1st January 2021

Welsh: Dydd Gwener 1af Ionawr 2021

23:45hrs: I woke wanting a wee-wee. Fought my way out of the recliner, caught my balance and to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket). For what turned out to be a worryingly wearying, and debouching, in a trickling long-winded style. At least there was no PMPD (Post-Micturition Pre-Dribble) or PMAD (Post-Micturition After-Dribble).

I had a rare headache, but only behind the left eye?

Remembering it was the first of January, I got the camera, but the Nikon would not display the view in the screen? So I fetched the little Canon one. Got the kettle on and awaited the fireworks to celebrate the new year to start.

The eager beavers started firing them a minute early, not that it matters. The second shot  I took, came out as one those artistic ‘Let’s pretend we did it in purpose’ ones, Hehe! I might be able to use that one for a background graphic later? I’ve still got the Vespa Bazooka ones to use, no rest for the wicked.

I was a smidge disappointed at the resulting pictures. But I was, even more, let down, when the entertainment finished so soon. Last year, I think I was at the window for over half an hour, this time, ten-minutes if that long.

I got the medications taken, and Health Checks completed. And with two unwanted surprises. The sphygmomanometer’s SYS reading was at 184. What? I hope I last until Monday when the nurse arrives to take the blood for the Warfarin test.

Then the Chinese made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer reading came out as 37.5°c. I thought it was a good one, but the background turned to red, as a warning that it was too high? A bit worrying this is. I checked on the NHS site for Coronavirus symptoms and got this snipped from the site.

Another NHS Coronavirus page said if your temperature if above 38.7°c. Some confusion to start with; the page above says you do not need to measure your temperature? I’ve no new coughing. I think I should be alright though, although I’ve anosmia, it’s been this way for weeks now. Hey-Ho!

Onto the computer, and got the pictures uploaded. Another trickling wee-wee, a mug of tea, and started to update the Thursday blog. I pressed on regardless (I’m getting better at editing and correcting mistakes now, I just wish I wouldn’t make them in the first place, Haha!) Three more wee-wees, and another two hours and I got the blog finished.

WordPress Reader visited. Emailed the link. Pinterest some snaps. Went on Facebook updating, then on WP Commenting. Another unwilling trickle of a wee-wee, then I made a start on this blog.

Got a message on my Nokia 9 Pureview Mobile, with its Android (Pie) updatability, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Octa-Core Gold CPU, 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, HDR video, USB Type-C 3.1, %x12 MP. 28mm Camera, Bluetooth, A-GPS, Fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, Li-Po 3320 mAh, non-removable, fast charging 18W, Quick Charge 3.0, USB Power Delivery. Fast wireless charging 10W – Qi Battery… Well, similar anyway. Hahaha! A nurse will be calling next Monday to take my blood. Bless ’em!

Got some late brekkers/snack sorted out. Too tired to bother with much, so bunged a brown part-baked baguette in the oven for ten minutes, and I lathered it in Marmite! Added a bag of Marmite flavoured crisps. Enjoyed it, too! Flavour 7.6/10. The sound like machinery booting up then dying as heard more than once while eating.

Jenny phoned, wish Happy New Year, bless her!

I became so weary again, and early on, too. But had no option other than to get my head down. Sleep took many hours being attained. The Thought-Storms seemed determined, slow, and illogical.

I woke a few minutes after nodding off, realising as I did that I had not taken the evening medications, but was too reluctant to get out of the c1968 recliner, for fear of not getting back to sleep… Zzzz!
