It’s genuinely difficult to write this little overview, And wanted to write it in rhyme, too! I’m not going to start moaning… I’ll try not to… Naturally, I can’t promise you, My brain used to act as an autocue… Now, Wednesday, I’ve another brain scan due, Dementia Doreen has me as a detenue & détenu, It’s difficultest to maintain logic & virtue, There is no point now in taking any long view… It’s a battle to wash, dress, and take a poor! Whatever can I do? I try to stay witty and not feel blue… Price rises in rent, electricity, & food accrue, Bad enough, but now the mind does miscue, The eyes give me misty, mottled view… The catheter pain, pouch replacement is overdue… Without help, I can’t get on a sock or shoe! Taking too many tumbles. walk into doors too! Deafness worsening will continue…
But I’ll not give in, I promise you!
When I see St Peter and his gate crew…
There’s going to be a right hullabaloo!
———————————— Sorry not have much on today; time beat me again…
This is the punch, one hour after emptying it. Not a lot?
. Potatoes were put in the slow cooker and forgotten about again. I can use them on Monday?
Email from Manor Laboratories in the USA. The Time-Machine Professor Billum and HRH Lisa-Petal, are going to ring me again: Bless them! ♥ Being a logical Scientist, Billum asked which time would be bestest to make the call. I checked on next week’s calendar and sent a copy to the Manor. It was early Morning when I found this, hope I got it right.
Yikes! This ain’t good.
Not so good view photos tonight. Still, I’ve done worserer ones. Tsk!
The ‘In’s & Out’s of it’ continued today. I think I had many more than yesterday. Which resulted in dozens of mini-mind-blanks. As for recalling what I was doing… well?
Gotten Himmel! I think it looked worse than what it was. The light shining on the masculine, jealous-making to others, postmarked scarred, blotchy right leg makes the blood in the bag seem darker than it really is. No?. The pouch seemed ready to explode as well.
The vegetarian casserole went down well. I’d seasoned t with some Henderson’s sauce, sea salt, 7-Mediterranean vegetables sauce, and tomato passata with basil, and a vegetable Oxo cube. Oh, yes, and a sprinkling of some imitation soya-bacon crumbles. I gave this a Taste Rating of 7.4/10. Not bad at all.
Sweet Morpheus was not keen on helping me again, and I ended up putting the TV on, that usually guarantees me nodding off. Well, it did this time… But unfortunately, it took a couple of hours longer than usual
Pity about yesterday’s little glitch. We could have had
a four-day period of High-Norms!
Morning snaps from the Kitchenette
Bet they seem tight to our American friends?
New potatoes cooked in the crock-pot, then
halved and sprayed with olive oil and into
the oven to crisp them off.
Mock pork sausages, done in the oven with the spuds.
Two wholemeal baps. And a pot of strawberry jam
cheesecake. Taste-Rating: 7.9/10
Regretfully, a lack of detail in this Inchie Today.
Not feeling too good, and the mystery pains
in my ribs continue to ruin my concentration.
Night , added the night catheter.
With my not taking off the diabetic socks (Fool!),
The ankles have blown up considerably.
I tried to take a photo, but Peripheral Pete and
Dizzy Dennis had me unsteady, and my attempts were not good. took
this photo for me of the leg.
This was his last call of the day. And he wanted to get home.
Which I suggested was a good idea!
Took me ages to get to sleep – not due to pain, worries or
any noise. But it was hours and hours before I managed to get off.
So bad I watched two football matches before my absent
friend Sweet Morpheus arrived.
Of course, the usual jumping awake, without rhyme or reason went on all night. Humph!
02:30hrs: Woke up for the umpteenth time, but not with , but the need for the And what a change in style this morning it was! I got seated on the throne and knew it would be advisable to get the crossword book out. Nothing was moving, yet the tummy told me there was a dollop needing to be evacuated.
was in command of things, and he was not going to be rushed. I actually got a few clues answered as I waited for the action to begin. I thought it was comical when it did burst out… all of it in seconds, a blessed relief from the travel pains, followed by multiple plop-plopping sounds. And it was all over. No bleeding, no mess! I am not sure if the released product reminded me of hazelnuts or chocolate peanuts, but fell for the nuts cause they were harder. The WC needed only one flush to clear the contents away, and I felt rather good; I expected things to be more painful, messier and take much longer. No help or urging from me was needed at all. However, having been fooled before, .
Tackled then. Toothache Tiffany followed my breaking off another bit of a tooth.
Not such a good shaving session; back to the old habits of multiple nicks and cuts. About six, I think. The main reason is my own stupidity. After my first two nicks, I got out two new razors and dished the old ones – But No, I found out later I hadn’t! What I did was throw the new razors into the waste bin and carry on shaving using the duff old ones!
More Followed in the medicalisationing activities.
Made a bigger mess of missing the eyes with the drops than ever before!
Had to conserve the Germoloid cream for. I forgot to get another tube when I went to the pharmacy on Tuesday. Yes, I swore at myself rancorously!
I was so close to taking a Galpharm capsule in mistake for a Senna to help free ‘s grip on the rear-end workings. Just imagine if I had taken one… That could have been a right pickle and mess I’d put myself into again! A genuine bit of good luck that I realised in time!
But, of course, my smugness was short-lived. Putting the olive oil in, I somehow squeezed the rubber, and the oil flowed, I dropped the slippery bottle, and it landed with perfect precision: right on my left foot’s . It made me jump a smidgeon. Of course, I took it all in my stride, grinned and laughed off the agony.
I dropped the tube of Germolene due to an unexpected sudden and I dropped tube, and totally without thinking, I bent down to pick it up !
Oh, I’ve mentioned my new ailment yet, have I? I’ll introduce you to it then. Not easy giving it a name cause I’m not sure what it is yet.
Pains similar to , but around, the back of the rib cage. At first, I thought I must have banged something when I took the tumble on whatever day it was. But Carer whatshername could see no bruising.
Then I thought it might be something to do with bladder and urine infection coming back again.
Then I changed my mind cause I found the ribs hurting when I tried to lift my right arm; and if I tried to bend down at all. No idea if means anything, but had given many more bouts of the shakes this morning than she did all of last week?
Now, over the last eight hours, there have been times when there were no stabbing pains at all (unless I bent or raised my right arm), but the sharp stabbing pains always return and stay longer than the moments of relief.
I thought at first, well, it’s good luck that I have made (Carer TY did, actually), an appointment to see the Doctor. Then it dawned on me, it is 15 days away!
So, I’ve been at the analgesics more than I would have liked. But needs must. Is that the right saying? Needs must? Grammarly has not objected?
Right now, as I am typing my errors and mistakes on this blog, has just kicked of with her most violent attack of the day yet. But the stabbing pains in the ribs are now far less frequent? I’m confused… but that’s nothing new.
The last Accifauxpa of the , was only one of the regulars… No, having said that, I’ve done this for weeks, I don’t think? It was a bog-standard shoulder charge at the edge of the wet room door on leaving it. . And… please note this – there were no revenge shakings from . I’ve confused myself even more now?
It’s taken so long to get up to here on this blog – Blog time at 07:00hrs, but the real-time is now… sod it, the clocks stopped, battery kaput, methinks. I’ll get the spyglass and look at the computer clock… hang on… 15:18hrs, I just will not have time to put everything in detail now. Shorthand from here on folks, sorry me hearties!
Worked on updating and making mistakes on the Friday blog (4 hours). Got it posted. Pinterested. A massive amount of comments had come in on WordPress, so I replied to it. (One. Hehehe!) Emailed the link.
Carer Jamina arrived around 07:30hrs. A new gal to me. Lovely lady. Had a natter after giving me the medications. She checked the taps and stove on leaving, taking the waste bags to the chute for me. ♥
Went on WordPress Reader. But it wouldn’t give me access to some sites?
The Tap-tapping, bang-banging, drilling gentleman in the flat above kicked off again. Amazingly he was not too noisy this morning.
Pressed on, making error after mistake and hitting the wrong buttons and icons in my effort to get the Ode for the day done and Nottingham News graphics done. Harder work than ever now with the eyes so bad. I do love trying. Sorry for any errors that get through!.
Here are the early morning photographs from the kitchen. I nearly forgot them. Tsk!
Not too bad.
Had to keep going for wee-wees regularly throughout the day.
I don’t think I’ve taken so many in such a short time (six hours) before. Then again, thinking back, maybe I have; Hehe!
I just took my fourth trip to the Porcelain Throne.
I think Herbert must be going out today. Mayhap delivering some of the steam-powered toy trains to the kids at the school? All quiet now! 11:30hrs Carer Kara Arrived! I asked about the cleaner lady I’m paying for who had not called for three weeks. Kara looked at this week’s roster, and she’s on it… no, next week’s roster.
I pressed on, making cock-ups and mistakes on this blog for hours.
So tired now, with my getting up so early. Going to make something to eat, methinks some potato Rostis, tomatoes and rolls? Yes, with some BBQ sauce, of course. I might not be back until morning… then again, I may get up early again and make a start on updating this blog…
Whoops, not done the Health Checks.
Smug-Mode-Adopted – Yee-ha!
A photo of the half-eaten meal of the day is here on the right. Vegan bacon, tomatoes, Potato Rostis, Orange yoghourt, and two brown rolls.
With my usual BBQ sauce.
Despite the and that kicked off as I started digesting this feast of flavour, I still enjoyed it muchly. Flavour Rating: 8.8/10!
Washed the pots… but when I got in the kitchen to do them, I found that I’d left the darned hot water tap running… Again! Self-cursing began!
Zzz! Deep sweet sleep… heavenly… I think I was having a tête-à-tête with St. Peter at his gates at one point. Well, more of an argument, really; he wanted to send me back to life again. No Way! Not with the everyday agony of the ailments, struggling with hearing, seeing, and the Mental-Torture of Dementia Doreen – I wasn’t having that! And, she’s given me aboulomania!
I was woken up when the 21:15hr late check call arrived at 22:10hrs. I recall the gal apologising for being late but little else. My chronology clock was all topsy-turvy. I remembered the Toblerone for her cause it wasn’t in the treats box this morning, so I got something right. Locked the door as she departed. (I know this cause it was locked in the morning).
Got off back to sleep, but this time it was full of the usual repeated, regular pullulating jerking awake with the twitching right shoulder, and often knocking something off of the ottoman as the limbs flail! That’s not right, is it? I did tell the Doctor about this. The response I got was an odd down-the-nose look that said to me: “The man’s potty!” followed by, let me know if it gets worse. What’s she waiting for, the arm to drop off? Or, for me, to pass away through sleep deprivation? It’s a lot worse now with extra waking-ups from the unaccountable …
06:00hrs: Woke requiring a wee-wee; rather urgently. Rose carefully and caught my balance, and over to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee-Bucket), and had to be patient as there was a lot of PMAD (Post-Micturition-After Dribbling); The were not getting messages through to the brain, which kept up the after-dribbling going for more than ten minutes at least. Eventually, it stopped.
Then straight away, after storing Little Inchie in the PPs, an even more urgent call came – To the .
yet again! Bum down, and the evacuation started of its own accord. But no complaints; although it was messy, it was all over in seconds.
But on cleaning up, the tissue was red with blood. Deep red, so I didn’t fret about it; it was almost certain to be just bleeding. Washed things, and I medicated the rear end with Germoloid Cream.
Then olive-oiled the ear-holes.
Got the eye drops done; maybe 5% got in the eyes. The rest down the cheeks and somehow into my nose, down through the moustache, leaving it with brown streaks, and into the mouth.
Went to the kitchen to make a mug of Glengettie tea.
The fog was lingering outside, and I took this blue-hued morning shot of the view. I’ve now forgotten the word I was about to use to describe it. Humph!
Never mind, getting used to forgetting things comes with Vascular Dementia, Doreen’s attention.
But it’s hard to live with.
Then, after another wee-wee, I got the Health Checks done.
Oh, heck! Back up again today.
Into the Hypertension Two – Red zone.
Ah, well, it has been higher before. Maybe the tension from Friday’s cock-ups?
I was cleaning the kitchen floor near the cooker when arrived. Always nice to see him, even when he is yawning; Haha! But he wasn’t this morning.
got the medications sorted out, and Peptac was given to me. We had a chat for a while. Richard got a phone call on his mobile and apologised. No need for that, mate. He told me about his problems with his Diabetes – 2. Nice to listen to him; he did it to let me know others are suffering as well, I think. A tactical ploy? Hehe!We had a laugh about things… he has a skill for making me feel good!
Visit number three. Another good one, and no bleeding this time?
Got the computer back on… and…
I could not save the work I’d done on this blog. So dare not turn off the computer. So left it running and went onto CorelDraw to do a graphic for tomorrow’s blog.
Took another wee-wee, washed and sanitised the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee-Bucket). Accompanied by Herberts
mechanical largo of noise.
Made another brew, Thompson’s Punjana, this time, and the internet came back on. Well done, Fries! Got the Sunday blog completed and posted off to WordPress.
The DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) nurse, Hristina, arrived.
She took the blood sample for the Warfarin INR testing.
Lovely gal, a treasure of patience with me, and listened when I talked. Bless her Cotton Socks!
Half an hour later, the Carer Manager, Tina, arrived. We spoke for a while, mostly me telling her about the odd memory blanks I’d had last week. I thanked her for the extra care she had provided for me. Another lovely, patient-with-me gal.
When Tina left, I did it again, and I lost a couple of hours altogether. But am pretty sure I was working on CorelDraw… of course, when I say pretty sure… Irestarted this update, but with little to add to it, really.
The doctors’ surgery rang with an updated Warfarin dosage. INR level is now 4.6, dangerously high. The man asked if I was taking the correct dosages, I told them the Carers take care of that nowadays, so it should be right.
I made a list of the new dosages and planned to put it in the Carers folder, but didn’t. (Dementia Doreen and a mind-blank?)
Later, I found I was being given the wrong dosage, but somehow noticed it? Got the new list onto the folder.
I thought I’d get the meal started; the pots were nearly ready in the slow cooker. And I’ll settle to watch a frost episode while I eat it… not the Frost episode, the meal.
An odd-looking meal this one was.
I mashed a whole boiled potato mashed with Leicester cheese. I added a blob of vegan butter, sea salt and a dollop of BBQ sauce on top. A Vegan Shepard’s pie. Three tiny oven-cooked rolls and got chomping away at it until it had all gone. Taste: 8/10. Turned off the computer and promptly .
Woke me up. I’m afraid I was a smidge out of it with sleepiness lingering, and I may have been either gabbling on or non-responsive to the lad. Had the Peptac and tablets, and he was soon gone. (I think). The wrong dose of Warfarin was given to me. (Amazing that I noticed in my half-asleep mode). Gave him the new dosage list, and Ty stuck it onto the Carer’s folder cover. All okay now.
Woke me up. Peptac served up. Chatted about the ailments we share, and we managed a (precious) laugh or two. Took the waste bags with him after checking the taps and cooker.
. Slept with just two rises for a wee-wee and one messy Porcelain Throne.
04:00hrs: I woke up with a jump and start and immediately knew I was in need of an urgent wee-wee. By the time I’d risen and caught my balance, was joined by an even more pressing need for the .
Grabbed Metal Micky and tumbled my way to the wet room. Dropped the stick, tore open the fessing gown, whipped down the jammie bottoms and tore the PP (Protection Pants) in the process of getting in position before the overly-eager evacuation started of its own accord.
I thought that Little Inchie was giving some CMD (Cessational Micturitional) after dribbling. But on inspection, I found the .
The tube of Hydrocortisone cream in the wet room was virtually empty. So I nipped to the medicine drawer in the kitchen and got another tube.
I got back to the WC and went through the usual painful, teeth-gritting routine of applying the aforesaid ointment.
As I put the resealed tube back in the box, I noticed what I thought to be a use-by date on it. So, fetched the spyglass to read it… Oh, Heckithump! The date was November 2021 on it! I must have used them in the wrong order. What an absolutely unquestionable than I already knew I was!
Now I have to explain things to , and hope he can get me another prescription from the Doctor for me.
I had, while sitting on the , got the idea that I was going to get some cleaning up done in the kitchen. But my morale and willpower had sunken, and I got on the computer to get the Saturday blog updated and sent off.
I forgot all about having a shave and shower; Doreen Dementia had toyed with me again. Never gave washing and shaving a thought. Now I’m involved in an addiction to my blogging again. I can’t see myself stopping to get a shower and shave now. More chance of Putin apologising to the world and stopping the war!
Took some photographicalisations of the beautiful, if cold morning views from the kitchenette window.
Despite the freezing cold weather, I later bravely took a picture of the bottom field across from the car park. The now ease melting now.
A brave dog walker or two appeared later.
The dogs were lapping up the weather. I think the clear air of the frost makes it easier for them to trail the scents of other dogs they pick up? The two, who were having a sniffing party didn’t stop wagging their tails. Just thought I’d mention it, like.
Got the blog updated and sent it off to WordPress.
Then back to the . Ah, that was easier! No bleeding from the , I’m glad to report.
I got the growths coming from the new potatoes removed and got them in the crock-pot. Flavoured with balsamic vinegar, Ben’s Hickory Liquid Smoke, and sea salt.
Which gives the water in this photograph a red hue.
Then, I de-eyed two baking potatoes ready to use later.
They can go in the oven to be baked… providing I remember, of course. (I didn’t)
This depends on Dementia Doreen’s frame of mind, my not falling asleep on the computer chair, and if I get any mind-Blanks. Or, of course, if Putin decides to attack with his missiles.
Arrived, by which time my mind was all over the place. Got the medications done, had a natter, and he took the waste bags with him to the chute for me.
Not the foggiest idea what happened over the next few hours.
But I had done some work on this blog as the brain re-engaged.
I’d also opened the Christmas present from Jane & Pete that they left me yesterday.
A lovely woolly hat, a nice shade of maroon, I think.
Still not feeling so good now; distant might be the word.
Arrived. We had a chat and laughed. She took the biscuits from the giant shortcake box and found some tubs to put half of them in, leaving the other bag unopened.
Remembered to give her a choice of Christmas pressie.
Must get some more bottles in.
Made up the ode of the day and patched together a graphic on CorelDraw.
Again, I’m not certain what happened for several hours.
Woke up in the recliner feeling unsettled and bemused. I stayed there, even after noticing that I had still not had a wash and shave… That’s not me usually.
Many hours later, after having a few minutes of sleep, then waking and worrying about anything I could think of or dream up, I rose from £300, bought eight years ago from the second-hand shop, Harold Haemorrhoid testing, repugnantly beige-coloured, crumb containing, virus-breeding, acne-giving, rickety, itch-producing, none-working recliner.
Finding that while I was supposedly having old man naps, Carers had called? I even wrote this on the memory notepad. (Can’t remember them calling or making the notes?).
, and had been.
These are worrying. I believe they are getting to me more and more. What if something important was said or arranged during the sessions? How do I know?I must put these on the list of things to tell the MH nurse.
Yet, I felt pretty fair when I last woke up. And got myself a meal made, although scarily, I do not remember actually cooking it. The photo of the meal triggered memories of enjoying it – feet up on a chair, tray on my knees… Oh, dear! I even found a score for the flavour rating in the pad. 802/10!
I washed the pots, took a painful reluctant wee-wee, had a wash, got into the jammies, and sat down to watch the TV. A Star Trek film… to which I promptly fell asleep when the first set of adverts came on.
Arrived. It was nice to see him again. Sorted the medications, and we had a natter. Richard checked the taps and stove. The lad looked tired. He took the waste bag on the way out for me.
Had a wee-wee (Still reluctant), and I got my head down in a serious search for proper sleep. And I got it at long last. I think I must have had an unninterupted good six hours! Dream-filled mind you, wish I could remember what they were about.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – 01:25hrs: Porcelain Throne, a wash, a second Throne visit, got the waste bags sorted out. A couple of wee-wees while I was making a brew of Glengettie. Got the Monday blog tackled and did it all the way through (although I anticipate a number of errors and mistakes). Back to the Porcelain Throne again. They were all of a sloppy Trotsky Terence variety and not a lot of it. As I was getting the Health Checks done and making the graph… and I am sure that this would amaze and stun you… But the internet went down!
Difficult to apprehend, I know. A man earning now, $26.8 million a year, plus bonus and shares, who buys Virgin Media from Mr Branson for so many billion. 24 billion, I think it was And can’t even get a service to Nottingham that is even slightly like a reliable service? You have to admire the number-crunching Smoke and Mirrors money manipulator.
Of course, it’ll be mainly jealousy at how much he is earning. And can’t do the job right… innit? Also, he must be a cunningly lucky man. He’ll know the few bosses of Liberty-Global above him, and no doubt fear of his spilling the beans on them ensures that Fries keeps his job? That and the back-handers they must be giving to the financial regulators. Just thought I’d mention it.
I thought the wee-weeing was bad now, but little did I know what was waiting for me overnight!
I got my head down and tried to relax and recuperate. But five hours later, Mr Fries, Liberty-Global, Virgin Media had not returned Internet was not on again.
Slept and woke for an hour, with no interest, and a totally confused brain caused me much misery. At 08:00hrs, Carer Shekiel came. Nice lad, we had a natter, treats in thanks, and he took the waste bags with him.
Noisy neighbour Herbert kicked off with his concerts of noise. At least they were different this time. The usual tap tappings, intermingled with the odd cappella serenade from his drilling tones.
I reluctantly started to fo the Health Checks again Not so good today, back up in the Hypertension-3 Red Zone. The SIA bringing a rather high figure. A shame about that.
Although I did this okayish, my tiredness and weariness returned. And my concentration was all over the place. I turned off the computer and sat down in the £300, second-hand, c1968, charity shop-bought, eyesorely-horrendously grungy coloured, Harold Haemorrhoid-testing, easily-falloutable from, unfit-for-use, not working, recliner. All a part of the mysterious nature of Woodthorpe Court, with the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions, and other grotesqueries that haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchcock; to curse with bad luck, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. worry and confuse me!.
My mind was all over the place. I was hoping that ILC (Independent Living Coordinator), Oberstgrüppenfuhreress, Warden and Primo Ballerina, Warden Deana, Or ILC (Independent Living Coordinator) Generaloberstess, Ice skating champion florist and Warden Julie would find the time to get me some help on the ultra confusing instruction from the Mental Status Hospital. Even the address is confusing me. Hazelwood House, ‘The Coppice’, Highbury Hospital, Bulwell, Nottingham.
I spent the rest of the day in the recliner; in fact, I spent 12 hours in the chair. The wee-wees slowly increased in frequency and got more and more painful, with less flowing each time! As I said, no sleep again whatsoever. I felt cold all night, a feeling that someone kept walking over my grave. I made an ode in the morning for the Wednesday blog about this.
At 01:25hrs, I must have had 80 wee-wees! The total passed, would not have finked a tea mug! I started using the WC after this, hoping that it may encourage the rate of flow. It didn’t
Then I suddenly felt the cold more. I took off the jammies and put the dressing gown in the laundry bag. Then bot a thick bobble hat on my head, got a jumper on my torso, and a jacket on top of them. and a thicker pair of trousers on, and some socks… Boy, was that painful!
The rest, indeed even some of this, indeed repeated, I think, on Wednesday’s blog.
