MONDAY 7th MARCH 2022
Morning Thoughts In Ode
I woke; the lack of sleep was gruelling,
I lay feeling sorry for myself, the toothache humming,
The mind joined the body and woke, I was thinking…
Things needed to be done, and then backpedalling,
The Thought-Storms were brewing; Gauling!
I had to listen to them, worries fears: Appalling!
Then they morphed into unfathomable witwantoning…
Dementia Doreen helped with my forgetting…
Whatever came to mind was soon absquatulating…
Foolishly, I kept my much-needed wee-wee waiting
While my mind confused me with its bleating…
Thoughts intentions, contorting and contradicting,
Suddenly, a reason to rise arose,
Involuntary winds blew from below…
I think this may be the end of my constipating…
To the Porcelain Throne, I did go!
I hastily disentangled my fat mass of body from the £300, second-hand, c1968, cringingly-beige-coloured, not-working, rickety recliner, caught my balance, grabbed Metal-Mickey, and hastily hobbled to the wet room.

I got myself seated and waited for the action to start. I whistled a little, had ago at the crossword book, doing no good, so I gave that up. Sang a few part songs, Adam Faiths, and counter the cracks in the ceiling again 62; I’m sure there wasn’t that many last week? Slowly, grindingly, but it needed some help from me, the evacuation began… and boy, was it a long job! I swear I could see the steam coming up through my legs, long before things had completed!
However, there was only the tiniest bit of bleeding, the exiting pains died off quickly, not too much mess, and as for any funk, I couldn’t detect any. That may be due to the gross amount of ear wax I have on both earholes at the moment?
I thought, being as I was already in there, I’d get the ablutions done. No showering, of course; I didn’t want to bother anyone still asleep.
Things didn’t go as well as the last two days, but they were a rarity. ① I cut my nose doing the nasal clearing (Not bad at all). ② The eye drops applying, there were again more dropping down the chin and moustache than in the eyes! ③ I had a very minor short Neuropathic Leg Dance Routine when doing the teeth, which resulted in losing a little more blood from around the broken tooth. ④ Applying the shaving foam and Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley woke up; I dropped the spray can, and trying to catch it before it got to the floor, I stubbed my right big toe on the trolley wheel. This was a bit more painful and prompted me to say a naughty word! ⑤ I was ultra careful and weary when it came to the razors, and I only got one small nick under the chin (Or so I thought at the time). Finished off there and started to have an all-over body wash at the sink. When the flannel was retrieved from cleaning the neck and shoulders, the amount of blood on it surprised me.
I got a tissue and searched for the source of the leaking haemoglobin. I’m not sure how, but I’d managed to get a minor cut on the back of the neck? It was an easy search; I just dolloped some Brut on a paper towel and dabbed around until the pain told where the cut was. Hehehe! And Brut stopped the bleeding in minutes.
I then tended to the last of the
medicationings. I got the Phorpain Gel rubbed into Cath Cartilage’s knee, Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley, and Arthur Itis’ knees. Then had another go at the ears with the syringe, dried off where I could, and dolloped a load of Olive Oil in each drum. I didn’t touch Little Inchies fungal lesion cause the lesion was a little sore; I’ll do him later on when I feel a bit braver.
Got the Health Checks done. SYS 146, DIA 68. Pulse 89, and Body Temperature 34.1°c. Good enough for me.
I was making a brew, and in walked Carer Richard. Nice to see him; he had left me till last again so we could have time for a natter, and did we have a chinwagging session? Yes, we did. Hehehe!
Our natterings were varied this morning and most enjoyed by this lad. This lad? Hehehe! Thanks, Richard! I was rather proud of remembering about the braces I’d told him I’d dig out for him.
Hello, he’s started off with clumps and tap-tappings again. I’d love to know what he’s making this time. But with him being a snot-bag, superior type, even if I do meet him, he’s pushed to grunt a greeting. But it’s mutual now; I hate him as well. I’m still inquisitive about his various noises, though. Later on, he made some clunk-thuds. But never for long, bless him.
Worked pm yesterdays blog finishing belatedly. Had a go at getting last night’s photos on, which, as you can see, I did eventually! Got it posted off to WordPress. Facebooking on TFZer and Winwood sites. Then onto WP Comments. That took a long time, but I do love doing them.
Before starting the WP reader reading, I scanned the readership and views for my blog. I found I’d had 4 views from Russia! Mr Puking? I mean Mr Putin, mayhaps? Tsk! This threw me out of kilt, and I forgot to go on the WP Reader.
I tried to upload this morning’s photos, but no luck. I checked the Amazon Tracker for the jammie-bottoms order. I reckon in about another two hours, or so, I’ll check again.
The blog started today. Amazon tracker is very close now.
I faffled about getting myself close to the intercom in case he arrived. I can’t hear the intercom at the moment; I’m even having trouble hearing the ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ door chime. Gawd, the eyes and ears are in a bad state now. I stood in the hallway to be close to the thing if it went off.
Which it did a few minutes later, yet I still struggled to hear it.
IT consisted of four pyjama bottoms come lounge pants, and two bobble hats that I thought were going to be a bit thicker and warmer than the others, not so sure now. The lounge pants have one looking nice and warm; the others look a lot thinner. What the ‘eck! Anyway, the chap put the parcel through the doorway for me.
I made a brew and took a snap of the sky from the kitchenette window. So beautiful! But I’m not expecting a gorgeous sunset later; it’s been too sunny all day; when this happens, the evening is a lot dourer for some reason.
I’ve not got around to reading the WP Reader yet. And I have to make an Iceland order for next week now. So I did! Well, I started, then the evening Carer arrived, name unknown or given came.
She seemed in a rush, though I bet she was busy. She gave me the meds in record time, and I thought and said, is this right? Three? Only one Warfarin? She went to look at the prescribed list and said yes! I pointed out that it is usually 1½ to 2½ that I have. She said no, that’s right, so fair enough. I thought, Dementia Doreen at me again. I thanked her, and she shot off, taking the black waste bag with her for me.

It still bothered me, so I checked on the listings.
It should have been 2 Warfarin tonight.
Damned good job. I checked on it! If not, I’d have had half the required dosage! Not Good at all! I can see now how one bad apple can spoil the barrel or even cripple
the reputation of Meridian Health & Social Care. If Nottingham City Homes were to replace Meridian, all the suitable Carers would suffer, and that’s not fair. But there’s little chance of that happening, after all the many let-downs with the laundering, no Carer showing up, lack of communication etc., now they could be killing customers, to boot!
Had I been in a Haze or Confusion state, which I often am at times, or had just had an evil dizzy spell, I would have taken their word for it about the tablet dosage, without question. Anyway, I took another, despite being told not to touch the medications and leave it to the Carers to do?
There are so many good Carers who call on me, as well. Patient, understanding Angels, who make everyone feel special, methinks. Not that I don’t understand. I know about trying to do a job when staff do not turn up, calling in within minutes of their shift starting to say how poorly they are. Team members are called in far too often and get fed up with it.
Add to mix the lack of resources and facilities. Due to the Carers market being so competitive and working to a strict budget, I am surprised that so many companies are vying for our trade. Yet it’s the same in the Security industry. I got up to being a controller, but I had all the frustrations that the so-called, Caring companies now have.
Anyroad up, I halved some Warfarin tablets to use later. Fair enough, while Peripheral Pete lets me, I’ll continue to do them. The Carers are not allowed to use the tablet-splitter.
I made a brew of Sainsbury’s Extra Strong tea. And took this photo on the right of the weak, disappointing sunset tonight. Although to me, there was still something beautiful about it.

I didn’t notice it at the time, but I left the tea on the side of the cooler and forgot all about it. Tsk! Then found a photo from yesterday that I failed to put in the blog.
Back to the Iceland order-making…

Boy, did I get a shock! It would not accept my card details when it came to checking out. I double-checked those put in, and they were all the same as usual? Then a message came up telling me to check that there are sufficient funds in my account!
Well, panic stations! Have hackers knocked all my money? Or has the Bank closed my account? I couldn’t ring Jillie at first and had a job on the mobile, getting Jill’s number off it, so I could use the landline. I tried again and got through… but to Jenny’s, not Jillies’ Jenny was all calm about it and told me to go to the Bank in the morning and sort it out.
Whether the legs will let me get down there or not, I’ve got to. Then I rang Jillie, but there was no answer. I tried a few more times without any luck. I am panicking more now. I pressed on with updating this blog as far as here and decided I’d better get summat to eat. But realised that nothing could be done until tomorrow anyway.
I’ll be back in the morning… I hope. If I can get any sleep… I didn’t!

Just asking, like… Not that it bothers me!
The significant bit about this is how refreshed I felt! Less than four hours sleep, but it felt like I’d had ten or more? Grrreat! I think the Hemp capsules are helping me sleep a bit better now?

A skunk and a clatter from aloof, sniffy attituded Herbert’s apartment above.
Carer Richard rang the ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ chime and came in. I was in the kitchen, suffering from a longish and violent attack from Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley. I was struggling to stir the tea safely. Good old Richard did it for me. He’s never been here when I was having an SSS session; it fritted him a little at first. He’s a caring Carer. Got the prescriptions taken, had a little natter, and even raised a laugh. Off he trotted after selecting some treats.
I went to make another brew, Thompsons Punjana, this time. By, gum, the sky looked like it was getting darker again? I took a snap from the kitchenette window of the front car park, Chestnut Walk.
I waited a while, hoping some birds might fly by, but they didn’t.
Had a wee-wee, washed, made a mug of Thompsons Punjana, and made my way out into the balcony. To take a photograph of the end car park.
amazingly calm, so I tried to make the best of this… but I was only causing more errors by trying to rush. Then:
I came across the picture I thought I’d lost, of last nights’ nosh. Some idiot put it in the wrong folder, TSk!
Checked the beef chunks in the crock-pot. These are Icelands “Extra Lean” beef chunks, by the way. Just look at the fat floating freeing around! Eurgh! I sieved some off of the mixture, and I added some gravy browning and black bean sauce… fingers-crossed for tonights’ nosh! Looks horrible?
Going to have to rest a bit now. An unfortunate visit from Dizzy Dennis forces this. Made a mug of Glengettie and ate a rather delightful mini-marshmallow, which tasted so good! I s
♬ Oh, Susana ♬ chimed out again. It was Phlebotomy nurse Hristina! I immediately cheered up. And girded parts of my loins that had not been fortified since the last time she came! Hahaha! I know; I remember needing the tablets.
Minutes later, ♬ Oh, Susana ♬ chimed out again. Once more, my heart rate increased… for it was desirable Carer Elena, come to do the medications. We had another natter and laughed. thanked her, offering her choice of nibbles and drinkies, she is always reluctant to take any, but I forced her I thin in the end. ♥ She departed, taking the waste bags with her for me to the chute. 🧡
Got the nosh sorted and served up. A bit better this time. The beef chunks that had been heating in the slow-cooker for seven hours or so tasted better cause of the BBQ and chilli seasonings. The black, yellow and red tomatoes were tasty. The fresh garden peas were terrific! The cheese and bean pastie went down well. Rating: 8.2/10.

Well, well, well! I do feel a fool for writing all that doom-ladened stuff about the ablutions, now!
and mayonnaise with the brined tuna. I had the pleasure of using the new tomato-slicer for Josie’s plate. Got the arrangement for the plate laid out, leaving space for the cheesy potatoes to go on last, so they will keep warmer longer.
I took a few minutes to unwind, then got the potatoes out of the oven, and onto the plate. Got it all done, and delivered it to the gals door. Josie didn’t answer until I was going back in the flat, she’d been on the phone talking to family. At least she was alright, I handed her the nosh, explained about the mayonnaise and tomato slicer being used, but I don’t think she could hear me properly. But she gave me a smile, thanked me, and I returned to the bomb-site… I mean kitchen! I got it cleaned up eventually, and then, I decided I’d have a hobble into Sherwood, to try and get some decent tomatoes and flakey pastry fingers, I should be able to get the fingers from the Ozan shop.
Out, to Ozan’s in Sherwood, in search of flaky-pastry finger biscuits, tomatoes.
As I set off along Chestnut Walk, it seemed that all the other tellurians apart from me had relinquished their occupancy.
downhill, especially on the uneven ground, it needed a good bit of controlling. But I avoided any Accifaupaxs or tumbles. Smug-Mode-Engaged!
Paid for them, thanked the man, and exited to begin the uphill-hobble back to the flats. No buses on a Sunday.
They really were so beautiful.
I walked along Chestnut Way, then into the Winwood Court entrance, and along the linking passage without seeing a soul. I hate weekends!
I had to fight off the heavy eyelids as I put the bits away and prepared the meal.

Mind you, the nut was throbbing away!

I got the trolley and myself all ready, forgetting to take the black bags I made up in the kitchen and left, to find the three-flats foyer in darkness. The new light put in by the same electricians who cut my power for nine-hours, when putting in the Fire-Alarm sprinkler system I’ve little confidence in them working!) Not the NCH men who gave me the floods and destroyed my clothing in the airing cupboard, that people are even less interested in than my Doctor is in missing my Warfarin blood tests. They probably don’t even know it’s happened. I can’t get through on the phone to them. Oh, I’m getting niggly again!
I wobbled through the cut-through pas
The highlight of my mini-hobble home came as I got on the main road.
really. As I was trying to get up, a bloke who’d stopped his came over and asked if I was alright. Another humanitarian gesture! I thanked him and said I was fine, thank you.
Inside of Winwood Courts dedicated lift, on my way back down.
blowing through the holes in the wall and floor, courtesy of the builders and repairmen… still, you can’t expect it sound just like inside your Woodthorpe Court flat, can you?
I got in the apartment. No wee-weeing, no Porcelain Throne requirements, no new ailments acquired. Apart from a little bruise on the head still there from my falling off the stepladder earlier, and an even smaller injury-come-graze, on the knee, from the mini-fall on the road.
I got on with updating this blog, for hours, but the finger-ends were making it slow work. Eventually, the CIDP won, and I gave up working on the computer.
I got the dressing gown on sharpish, and the door chime rang out. Guess who it was? It was the tomato slicer delivery from Amazon, that was due to arrive on Sunday. I thanked the lady and took the box into the kitchen and had a look at the slicer.
I got the handwashing done and hung.
Bulgaria Euro qualifying match. When I say stayed awake, I mean mostly. Half-time I drifted off.But came back to life when the match restarted.

However, the slipper mystery developed somewhat. After another ferret-around for the missing one, I now have three odd slippers? Ah, the Mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court, continue!
As Sister Jane commanded, I mean suggested, I made my way to and through the slab square to try the Lakeland store for a slicer.
I walked back through the unkempt city centre, where the workers were dismantling the amusements, ready for the next money-making scheme, a foods of the world theme thing I think.
ad to battle falling asleep for most of the journey, but failed and did just before the bus arrived at the flats. Klutz!
I walked back through the connecting-passageway. Not a soul in sight.
I got the nosh sorted. Even as I got down to tuck into the fodder, the knees and back were in a painful condition. Poor old sausage! Haha!
Back down again in the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged £300, second-hand, gungy-beige coloured, recidivating and rotting-away recliner, and put the goggle-box on to watch a Rumpole of the Bailey on Freeview channel 48.

On to the balcony to take a shot through the glass, of the morning weather.
Mary had bought herself a new three-wheeled trolley from Argos. She’d bought some clips that she can hang a brolly and so forth on. A good looking one, with a bag and wire carrier as well, it cost her £59. Big wheels, which looked nice and stable. She nattered while we were en route, and in town, we both went into the Poundland Store, for her to show me where the handy looking lever-hooks were to be got from. But they had not any in stock today. Mary insisted that I have two of her’s, she would not allow me to refuse. Bless her. I bought two bags of Sherbert Saucers.
With an aching body and painful knees, I had an amble to Huntington Street, to call in the Aldi store.
I got some Leicester grated cheese for the cheesy potatoes of Josie and me on Sunday, and a jar of beetroot and gherkins Which were so leathery and bland, even I considered returning them with a complaint.
We had a moan and laugh as we walked through the link-passage. We tested the door opening on the exit door to the alfresco seating.
Then started the meal. A cold imitation salad of sorts. Chicken thigh, sliced Worcester apple (Very tangy!), rice & corn pats, gherkins (the Tesco ones, that were horrible to the palate), cooked beetroot, and Milk Roll buttered tomato sarnies. A mini-bottle of orange juice added.

The sky from the kitchen window looked almost ominous of a storm brewing.
Cleaned and medicated things, the pins were looking alright. They seemed a bit more colour in them, and they were skinnier in appearance, I think.
I got the post all done and sent off.
07:00hrs: I’ll be back later to update things, but when, I’m not sure.
I took the black bags to the waste chute, then got in the elevator. It smelt of cigarette smoke, with a lingering aroma of stale ale. Hehe! Someone been on a night out? I’m not jealous, of course!
I made my way through the new linking-passage into Winwood Court. The brand-new unused yet, door mechanism out to the benches, was still not working.
As I passed the top of Winchester Street, I noticed the rusty white Mercedes van, that the garage man told Jenny, was owned by one of the Winwood Heights tenants, had responded to Jenny’s request, and was now parking on the opposite side of the road. So, now I do not have to walk on the roadway to get the three-wheeler through when going into Sherwood. Thank you, Jenny ♥
I struggled to get up the hill on Mapperley Rise. (A continuation of Winchester Street hill, the steepest part of it).
I was ambling along, in a semi-contented, partly-absent-minded dream world, and I thought I heard the Little Johns dongs. This made me look at my bargain, charity shop bought for £2 wristwatch. (The one with the £10 trap and new £11 battery, Haha!)
escapades, and his New Zealand, Australasian holiday and a lady responded. A line of cars was outside to pick many of the patients up, others went to the car park, one lady to her giant Mercedes. I wobbled off into town with my trustless three-wheeled Guide trolley. I had to smile!
Despite everything, I seemed to enjoy the session? Am I a Sadisism-Sufferer? Or, should that be a masochist?
I hobbled down Market Street, where this Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist was merrily plodding up the hill, and in the Slab Square.
the square on my way to the Poundland shop on Wheeler Gate.
I was really in pain then, with the knees and feet. I took a picture of the Debenhams, that used to be Griffith & Spalding, because we are likely to see this closing soon, too! Reading of the troubles and decline of yet another big name store is so sad.
I bade Shirley a farewell with a smile, got out of the lift and into the flat.
Took the medications, and got the meal prepared. I was too tired and worn out to make anything from scratch. So I got a large can of chilli-con-carni, added some brewed malt vinegar, and stirred it all the time almost, to stop it burning the new saucepan again this time. Tsk!

The legs were looking a bit betterer. The odd mark on the right leg above the Arthur Itis-ridden right knee was fading like I predicted it would. At least I know know what is causing them to appear (I think). According to the results, from Stroke Doctor Senthil K Ragunathan, it is Clopidogrel, whatever that is. I’ll look it up. Here is what Google tell us:
I made a start on this posting.
Cressed and took the black bags to the waste chute, then down and along the passageway through Winwood Court and to their lobby.
The fresh pod peas had now finished, and the season ended! Sob! I got some potatoes for Joycie’s and my nosh on Sunday. Then I went to Asda (Walmart).
I came out with mushrooms, tomatoes, crisps and canned meat and fish extra, and handed them to the Food Bank people. The trolley bag was overfull and the carrier ladened with fodder for myself.
The door out to the benches in the new passageway to Woodthorpe Court was still not working.
I did spot a Birthday card in the hallway that came on Wednesday, shoved through the door, that I had put on the radiator on my way out, and had forgotten all about, as I entered. It was from Part-time Cat-Walk fashion Model, and
I rang Sister Jane and Pete, as I had not had a reply to my email asking if they were alright. But they were fine, I’ glad to say, the EQ was wrong!
Got the handwashing done, and took a photo of what at the time I believed was the morning sky! This was when it dawned on me, and I checked the second-hand bargain £2 charity shop bought wristwatch, (With the £10 replacement strap, and £10.95 battery) for the time. 07:30hrs. I put on the computer to find out it was 19:30 hours!

To the kettle, and made another brew.

chairs.
The Slab Square, and a right-tatty, unkempt mess it looked. But it had a good few Nottinghamian’s lounging about, was passed by, and I had a walk down to St Peter’s Gate Church. There were few people about this morning. Even Exchange Walk was sparsely being used, a low footfall, I think they now call it!
Back up Wheeler Gate and into the Poundland store. I had a long hobble about inside, and came out with; Twiglets, drain unblocker x2, biscuits for the nibble bag, can of stag chilli and chips, BLT sandwich, a Pork Farms pork pie, honey roast almonds, birdseed, and chocolate pretzels (for Jane).
I Paid the bill at the self-serve checkouts, and went to the Slab Square. The overfull trolley-basket guide, with the full carrier bag hanging on the handle, was a little hard to control.
My first need, though, was food, I was hungry. I felt I needed to degust the meal today, really enjoy it. Not precisely an allotriophagy or
Rewashed the hands, and went to take another sachet of
