04:25hrs. I woke, feeling so sapped and narcoleptic. This, despite my having just been in the arms of Morpheus, for the most extended sleep I’ve had in years! (At least I think I had). And yet unwanted ignavia, persisted? I believe that I’d slept for about eight-and-a-half hours!

Thinking about it, I suppose the therapy exercises with Nurse Sue yesterday, might have taken more out of me than I thought?

I heaved my crassulent torso from the £300 second-hand, c1968, gungy-beige recliner, and took the two steps to use the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket). I was benumbed when I found it almost a third-filled. I have no recollections of waking up to use it during my nocturnal head-down? I shall resist telling you of what it looked like, apart from unnatural. I added to the quantity without much pain for once. Still thick and coloured a pale yellow, damn it, I’ve told you now. Hehe! A new bowdlerisation or an acronym for today’s latest style of wee-wee would be a TCRWW (Thick-Colourful-Reluctant-Wee-Wee). But more aggressive than those of recent days. It seems the Nitrofurantoin antibiotic tablets are doing their job, I hope.

I took the medications, including the Nitrofurantoin, and carried out the Health Checks.

Then off to the wet room, for a shave, wash, teggies and scrub up. Applied the pain gel generously on the Arthur Itis and Axonotmesis affected legs and knees. Then Haemorrhoids Harold was creamed. The next job, tackling the Sock-Glide, which was a log, difficult job today. PPs and togs on. Deorisational spraying and aftershave applied. Both pairs of Spectacles cleaned. Hearing aids de-waxed. Olive oil inserted in both of the lug-holes. And off to make a mug of tea.

WD173.2.2 On the way to the kitchen, the right arm, hand and leg went off on one of their Shaking Shaun episodes, a vicious one. Nothing could be done, so I just waiting, glad that no one was there to see it, and waited for the bout to stop. Luckily, I had the walking stick with me when it arrived. The fingers were reluctant to stop the shakes, but all the other affected areas calmed down to a stop for me, in about ten minutes or so. Much longer than usual.

WD173.2.2 I made the brew, and got on the computer, to update yesterday’s diary. Which was a little farcical! With the finger ends jumping all over the place each time I hit the keypad; a lot more time correcting was spent than typing. Then, just to make things a bit more interesting, the violent sneezing started! Humph!

The Carer, Anton arrived and soon had the Ankle-Support fitted. He’s mastered the job now.

WD173.2.2 Back to the computer and: Most annoyingly…Virgin (2)

I battled on against the ailments, the Liberty-Global Internet and repetitious amendments, and got the post finished and sent off, eventually. Worra life! Hehe!

I made a start on creating the draft for this post. When another Shaking Shaun episode arrived. But this one only lasted for the more usual few minutes. I began to type again and realised I had to take an antibacterial tablet. So took it, and made another cuppa. Then I got the potatoes baking in the oven.

Then onto CorelDraw to make some Page Headers and Thoughts to use for tomorrow’s blog.

Josie called. I plan to get the meal ready for 13:00hrs, so she can get the bus put to visit her family in time.

6Sat29Stopped computerising to take care with the nosh.

Delivered Josies, then got mine sorted.

Again I couldn’t eat it all, but the cheesy potatoes got devoured completely!

I think the new medications are making me more tired, lose my appetite, and struggle with the wee-weeing. Tsk!

Josie returned the plates etc. I’m so glad she enjoyed it.

Did the washing up, took the antibiotic tablet and settled down to watch some TV. I was soon asleep again, a deep one.

But the need for another wee-wee woke me up (luckily!), and things were changing for the better I think. I passed what must have been half a cup. That’s more then I have moved in a long time. So the Nitrofurantoin is working with the infection.

Back down in the £300 second-hand recliner, and nodded off again.

Woke in need of another wee-wee. Washed up and took the medications, changed into the nightwear, and again nodded off.

Woke up to use the Porcelain Throne, but things were still hard and solid, although a little evacuated, painfully. Humph!

The rest of the kipping was intermittent throughout the night. I kept waking with a different problem or worry on my mind each time. It was heavy going.

Friday 17th May 2019

Haitian Creole: Vendredi 17 Me Me 2019

WD 51.51.153 5Fri00101:40hrs. I woke, I noticed the legs were a little different again. Boy, were they pale and anaemic looking. The left one still had far more water retention than the right leg. Is there a name for ‘Leg Watching’ I wonder?

WD 51.51.153 I soon sensed the need, dismounted the £300 second-hand, gungy beige, rickety recliner, wobbled a bit in standing – then lunged for and used the EGPWWB Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket. With a resulting releasing of what must have been more content than for weeks, now. Only an SSPWW (Short-Sprinkly-Painful-Wee-wee), but it might have half-filled a small cup, and that is more than I have managed, as I said, for weeks now! The pain was worth it! Thank heavens for Nurse Jemma yesterday, and her getting me some antibiotics! ♥

5Fri002I limped along to the kitchen to put the kettle on, and get the health checks done. I realised that I had not had any Colin Cramps last night!

The Sys 121. The Dia 63, both much lower than yesterday. The temperature was 35.4°c. The new medication doses are far less now, as can be seen in the blue pot lid. The scales are now hidden behind the two walker-trolleys in the spare room, so I used this as a self-excuse for not weighing myself. Guilt-Mode-Adopted!

Thankfully, thanks to Jemma getting things sorted for me, the following prescription medications in June will be blister-packed, all bar the Warfarin which will come separately, as the doses change all the time. She really has helped sort things out for me. She earned her wages yesterday, bless her!

WD 51.51.153 I made a brew and got on the computer to update the Wednesday blog. It took me a long time this morning. Partly due to the mistakes I keep making from the shaking fingers and inattention, and the other reason, I had to break off at least eight times for an SSPWW!  I used the WC for these, and was, despite seeing the state of the legs earlier, I was almost horrified to see how pale the rest of the body was. I considered taking a photo but decided I could manage quite well, without seeing it myself. Humph!

When the blog was done and dusted then sent off, I went to make another mug of tea. And it dawned on me, that the wee-wees had stopped. I’ll see how long this last for. I must try to remember the Nitrofurantoin tablets at 10:00hrs, 14:00hrs, and 18:00hrs.

WD 51.51.153 Well, fancy that, I just took two SSPWWs in the EGPWWB, within two minutes. I spoke too soon!

Time to get a wash and shave, teggies and dressed, etc. A bit concerned about the shaking right hand and leg today, I’ll take care when shaving. Back in a while.

Blimey, I had three SSPWWs while doing the ablutions! Then they dried up again? Got all spit and polished, shaved (one little cut, no… I tell a fib, it was two, Hehe!), teggies, scrub up and dressed.

The shorter-wider topped 5Fri005socks were adorned.

WD 51.51.153 Me using the sock-glide, really ought to be filmed and sent for a comedy award of some sort or other – it’d be a winner! I can see the headlines now; Nottingham’s nearly toothless Pensioner Inchcock’s Sock-Glide Farce, beats all to win the British Comedy Award for the best Medical – Whoopsiedangleplop of 2019! “Sock-Glide Company Sue”! Hahaha!

5Fri004The face had a little more colour, but then I had just had a shower and bleeding shave. Hehe!

I made a brew, got the antibiotics put on the calendar as a reminder. I made them for 06:00, 10:00, 14:00 and 18:00hrs, I’ll check with Jemma to see if that is okay, later. Taking them with fodder is essential the advice leaflet reads.

While washing, the right leg did one of its shake, rattle and roll performances. I could have sent a clip of that to ‘You’ve been framed’ perhaps. It must have looked to anyone watching like I was having an electric shock down my right side. But these episodes never last long, and somehow, oddly, even I find them funny. (Not when they catch me out and cause injury, though. Haha!)

The tea had gone cold, so I made another brew.

5Fri003aIt looked a little precipitation threatening. As I opened the new unwanted, light & view blocking window, now with extra glass to clean that we cannot even reach, in the kitchen, it started to spit rain. But it was still a beautiful view!

When I was taking the picture, I swear my nephelococcygia recognised a shape of a fish up in the clouds. But I’ll be blown if I can see it now.

I had a bash at the headphone connections again, and they are working? But the sound is muffled. To me, anyway.

Called to see Josie a few times, but she was out. Hope she’s enjoying some time with her clan.

The wee-wees were the same for the rest of the day, but less frequent, SSPWWs.

Nurse Sue arrived around 10:20hrs. Nice lady, who commenced the occupational therapy exercises with me. Gently and kindly, though. We also had a jolly-good natter at the same time. What seemed like a day-and-a-half later (Hehe!), Sue had to leave me. Boking another visit for next week… or the week after, whichever. Fitting the gal in the medical calendar was fiddly. It is already pretty full. Hard to get anything else done. She said I could nip out to get my potatoes now. I hobbled to the door with her and said my farewells and thanks.

5Fri007I’m looking forward to her next visit already.

I had missed the bus, but no bother.

I decided to walk slowly and carefully down Winchester Hill and get some bread and potatoes for tomorrow’s cheesy-potato-nosh.

5Fri006Out and down the hill, as I say, nice and steady with the three-wheeled-trolley. The trip went well, without accifauxpa or incident. There were very few Nottinghamians about on Mansfield Road.

WD 51.51.153 I called in the International Food Store, to investigate what large potatoes they had on offer. Oh dear! Not very good, they were a little motheaten looking and cracked with shoots growing out of them! The shelves looked a little barren.

5Fri007aWD 51.51.153 So I walked up to the fruit & veg shop… only to find it had Closed Down! A sad state of affairs!

So I crossed over te Abdul’s store on the other side of the road, in search of a Polish sliced Sourdough loaf.

WD 51.51.153 But none available!

5Fri007bWD 51.51.153 Back over the road and called in the co-op. Where I got some baking spuds. But the fresh food shelves there were even more barren than in the other shops, minimal choice or options. This was not good for a Friday, and very depressing for anyone with a family who were hoping to get in the week’s vittles.

5Fri08I moved up past Hall Street, making my way to the bus stop to catch the L9 back up Winchester Street to the flats at Winwood Court.

A little busier here, the bookies and cheap alcohol shop probably the main attractions. Hehehe!

Surprisingly, there were none of my fellow residents at the bus stop. So, a lonely wait and ride up the hill home.

5Fri08aAs I got off the bus, I could see Mary coming towards me from the other end of the road. But, no doubt due to the magical time-space continuum’s tear in the fabric of space, and or the ghosts and goolies of Winwood Heights, it was as if I blinked and she was gone? This photo proves I did not imagine Mary being there… but where did she go? Another mystery not to get solved!

5Fri09Apart from the legs and feet, I was in pretty good knick. I took a photograph of Winwood Court as I made my way down Chestnut Way.

WD 51.51.153 Called to see Josie, but she was not in.

Weariness dawned. All that effort, just to get two potatoes, hehe! But worth it, for me to do some Cheesy-Potatoes for Josie and me, on Saturday. I got the nosh sorted, and it was a disaster of sorts.

WD 51.51.153 For the appetite had gone again. Despite the meal looking, tasting, and smelling fair to me. Only ate a little of it? Why? I wondered if the Nitrofurantoin may be a cause of this? One of the many possible side-effects is loss of appetite? Now I’ve taken a few more tablets it may be affecting me?

The plate when served, and how it ended up.

5Fri11

I got washed, took the medications, removed the Ankle-Support (Not without some grunting, pain and curse words, hehe!), and settled n the £300 second-hand, c1968 grotty beige recliner. Sleep came early, easily and quickly. The occupational therapy exercising helped I think.

WD 51.51.153 Deep in sleep, and the mobile rang. I tried to answer it, fumbling about and the Axonotmesis nerve affected fingers, ensuring I made a mess of replying and it rang off before I could answer. I rang Jane back, and she rang me again. We had a chinwag, although not a lot of it remains in my memory. I was so deep in sleep. I must get in touch later, I think she has another problem, with her eyes this time. I must find out.

Getting back to sleep I thought, would be a problem. So I watched some crap in TV. Turned it off, and within fifteen minutes I was back in the land of bliss!

Inchcock Today – Monday 13th May 2019: Farcical Scramble to the Audio Clinic, then the Hospital, then home; and boy was I tired-out. Ah-well. Amazing memory prompters today!

Italian: Lunedì 13 Maggio 2019

00:50hrs. Woke up for a wee-wee, of the SWSWW (Short-Weak-Sprinkly-Wee-wee)  variety. Passed it in the EGPWWB Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket, and back to sleep.

01:10hrs. Woke up for another wee-wee, of the SWSWW (Short-Weak-Sprinkly-Wee-wee)  variety. Passed it in the EGPWWB Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket, and back to sleep.

03:25hrs. Stirred and very reluctantly got up, for another wee-wee, of the SWSWW (Short-Weak-Sprinkly-Wee-wee)  variety. Passed it in the EGPWWB Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket. Forced myself to go and take the morning medications. Made a mug of tea, which proved a tad risky with the thumb cumbersomely wrapped and soaked in blood. But I made one.

Got the audio centre and then the NHS Drop-in centre to visit today. I also have to replace the bandages, pads, and plasters used yesterday. These three tasks will take up most of the day, and leave no time to get anything else done. Oy Vey!

The computer turned on, and updating of the Sunday blog finished and sent off. Not comfortable or accurate, typing with a dirty-great plaster and bandage on my thumb! Even more mistakes than usual were being made. Grumph! Went on the WordPress Reader section.

I made a grocery order and sent it off.

Tried to have a wash and shave. Not very good, though. Trying to avoid getting the thumb wet. To early to have a shower. I was in a Fed-Up Mode, I couldn’t help it.

1Mon01aI did notice when I got pt the long sleeve shirt: the labels had the prices in Euros?

I was just about to set out, and the intercom rang out. It was the carer, which I thought I had cancelled. I tried to rush him to put the Ankle-Support on – which was a mistake because it was fitted very loose, and not much use. His boss called; said he was on his way as he had to see me urgently. I explained about my having to go to the Audio Clinic, and Drop-In Centre and the bus was due in fifteen minutes! We went down together out of the foyer, but we could not see the man. So, I made my way to the bus stop, getting there with- a couple of minutes to spare. I caught the 40 bus and was knocked about by the school kids as they massed on the vehicle at every stop en route to town. Hehe!

1Mon02I alighted the bus on Queen Street. I walked down to the Slab Square and began to make my way to the Audio Clinic, avoiding the Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists as I sped along.

I say speed, not really. But despite the danger of the ankle going over, I was impressed with my rate of knots, although, I regretted it later.

1Mon06I stopped and turned back to take a picture on Little John’s bell housing. Pleased at the time showing. I don’t know how the busy bus got through so early but was grateful that he had done so.

I crossed over Market Street, and over to the other side of Beastmarket Hill, and up to Angel Row. The memories flooded back when I saw the Bell Public House. One of the haunts of my youth and drinking days was looking a little moth-eaten. But a sign said they still had four bars with four different atmospheres. I love the foot-tappers Jazz band that used to appear there, as well as other venues.

1Mon22

The weather was fine, just as well because with the mayhem when I left the flat, I’d forgot to take my hat with me! Hehe!

1Mon07cThe closed down Odeon Cinema is now a Nandos, with its three big and two small waste bins out ready for collection.

I’m not sure why, but I was pleased with this picture, how it came out. The shadows from the scaffolding, and sunshine from behind help, giving it some texture, perhaps. Not that know what I’m saying, but it sounds clever. Hehe!

Turned left and over what used to be Granby Street. It’s Maid Marion Way now, also known as Brian Clough Way to some folks. At least in 1962, it was Granby, when I started working at the Tesco store, which they had bought from Adsega, a South African company, who also sold their Derby store to Tesco, in Duckworth Square, where I worked later. Isn’t it amazing how the long-term memory can still work, and the short term dissolves? Well, at times it just doesn’t seem to take things in, in the first place! Haha!

1Mon07dI made my way to Park Row, the same place I visited on Friday.

This time things, walking etc. seemed to go much easier, and I surprised myself at how soon I got to the top of the hill.

And, without anyone asking if I was alright, or telling me I looked very pale! Hahaha!

To the top of the hill and around the corner, to the Audio clinic. Where the signs told me they were had Proud & Caring staff.

01 Header Inch

The Proud & Caring receptionist shook her head in response to my good morning. Adding verbally, “What do you want?” I was fumbling to get out the appointment card when she asked my name and date of birth. “Where is your appointment card?” I smiled as I fluffed getting it out of my pocket and said; “It’s coming…” and handed it to her. A smile almost came on her face as she told me to take a seat. Which I humbly did, and got the crossword book out. Although my efforts on the puzzles were abysmal.

A young man appeared and called out my name, and I followed him into a room. I explained the problems with the hearing aids and the lady in the room checked them out for me. The mould on the right one had become distorted, and I was instructed to make 1Mon08an appointment within two weeks to have a new one made. She changed the tubing for me.

I was all sorted and out in ten minutes or so; walking down Park Row, on the Marathon hobble to the NHS Drop-In Centre.

As I turned right in Postern Street, I could ee roadworks blocking the way. It was a bit dangerous making my way down the road with 1Mon08athe Trolley-Walker. But it got worse a little later!

Work was taking place in Nottingham Castle; it was all boarded up.

Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists were all over the place, and coming from all directions it seemed.

WD153.41.102 A few yards further on, and the roadway was hob-cobbled and most uncomfortable as the trolley shook and rolled, and several times, the locking-grip opened, and 1Mon09the thing started to collapse! Once the roadway became better, things settled down – but the ankle went over just before the smooth bit of road, and I uttered a few well-chosen expletives out loud! Good job I had got the medicines earlier on.

WD153.41.102 Took a shot of the Robin Hood statue, that is endlessly being vandalised by the local yobbery!

WD153.41.102 I poddled with ever getting more rattly walker down onto Canal Street. Taking this photo of the oldest pub in England.

1Mon09aAfter a visit to Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, you’ll soon understand why this pub has survived the centuries to become a treasure of Nottingham past and present.

As England’s oldest inn, the pub is nestled beneath the cliff on which Nottingham’s historic castle stands, and was once a well-known pit stop for crusader knights. It is said that King Richard the Lionheart and his men are more than likely to have gathered at this historic royal dwelling before journeying to Jerusalem in 1189AD, thus giving the pub its unusual name. Something of a cross between an inn and a museum, the pub features several bars, cosy nooks and snug lounges filled with curiosities and relics of Nottingham’s history. You can enjoy a delicious pub meal every day between 11: am and 10: pm in the Rock Bar, where you can warm up next to the fire in Yorkie’s Lounge, or enjoy the expansive garden area when the weather is pleasant. Beneath the pub, cave cellars root deep into the sandstone cliff and, like many of Nottingham’s 800+ caves, have for centuries been used for storage of ale. Also located in the cellars is an old cockfighting pit and part of the Castle Gaol was said to be housed in the cellars at one time. This included the condemned cell, a small cell with a very low ceiling with small holes drilled to allow a little air to flow through. The Gaoler would have sat just outside the cells on the ‘Gaoler’s Chair’ which was etched out of the rock and can still be seen today.

1Mon10A little detail, to show what you are missing, folks.

WD153.41.102 As I passed the Nottingham Post building, another of the countless Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists shot by. A shame, but he managed to avoid the work sign on the pavement. Damn and tarnation!

1Mon11Part of the works taking place was centred around the Broad March Centre, the tram station and the Magistrates Court.

I gave up on picturing the Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists; there were so many of the ignorant, dangerous, toploftical, supercilious, arrogant animals about.

1Mon12WD153.41.102 But this dogbreath came so close to hitting me as I neared London Road to cross over near the new BBC centre. Well, it is for me. Hehe!

The draft he made as he belted by me from behind, nearly had me over.

WD153.41.102 Then the damned trolley-walker almost had me over! I was intent on 1Mon14picturing the nasty, uncaring, insensible, unaware, nescient and unconscious of his own bullying actions cyclist, I pushed the trolley over a crack in the concrete! Oh, I did feel a fool!

I risked life an limb getting over London Road to the BBC building.

1Mon23The Drop-In Centre, now named the Urgent Care Centre as I discovered, was a few hundred yards behind the BBC.

I got inside and wet to the reception. Where the young lady sneered contemptuously and me and offered me an elongated “Yyyyes?” by way of a welcome. I gave her details, showing my bloodied thumb. Utterly uninterested, she told me to take a seat, and someone will call me later.

I got sat down, with the crossword book out. Had a fruitless attempt at doing some part-done puzzles. An hour or so later, a nurse came out and summoned me into a room. I told of my Whoopsiedangleplop with the thumb. She took off the bloodied homemade dressing and took a look at the wound. This happening, brought some interest to the proceedings, and she said; “Gum, you made a right good mess of that, haven’t you?” she put a wet pad on the thumb and told to go out and take a seat, and someone will call you for treatment. As I was going out, the trolley lock jumped open again. “You must not use that, it’s too dangerous!” she quipped as I departed to the waiting hall.

A nurse called me into a room half-an-hour or so later. She asked how I did it, very embarrassing. Two stitches and some holding tape later, she gave me some self-sticking plasters with pad to use to renew the wound if needed. “If it goes any blacker or bleeds again, you must see your GP! See my GP? Who is my GP?… oh yes, I remember, just! Hehehe! The one who needs a week at minimum to give me an appointment.

1Mon15I thanked the nurse and departed. Planning on going to Wilko’s to get some replacement plasters for the ones used and blood-soaked last night.

Over London Road, up Bellar Gate, Belward Street, along Cranbrook Street. Left on Lower Parliament Street and along to Upper Parliament Street and the Wilko Store. Where I over-did the spending a little: I came out with Graze plasters, Lint, Sterile Adhesive Pads, Blue extra strong adhesive tape, fabric strapping and bandage crepe. Could have been worse, £7.90 spent.

A good 40 minute before the L9 was due, as I left the shop. So I called into the Poundland store and had decker at their medical offerings. Came out bearing Elastoplast fabric plasters, Porous tape, Adherent dressings, Waterproof plasters and crepe bandage. Much cheaper, at £6. Paid at the self-serve checkout, and out over the road to the bus stop. The feet, legs and ankle were all giving some grief now.

I took some photographs while I waited for the bus.

The bus was well crowded on the way home. When I got to the Winwood Heights, I helped Charlie off the bus and called in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Holding cells. Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalistic Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin. Oberscharführeress Warden and Hustle Model Julie was in working, and we had a laugh as I told her the days events. Said my farewells, and walked to the flats with along with Elizabeth, Cyndy and Eric. We managed a laugh or two, and Eric offered to sort out the sink plug for me, when I get one of the right size. Hahaha! Kind of him.

Got in the flat, and the SWWWs (Short-Weak-Wee-Wees) started again. Yet no signs while I was out and about? Odd that?

Took the medications and started to update this blog… for hours and hours… Oh dearie me! In between SWWWs of course. Well, it’s been a busy, messy day! Tsk!

1Mon33Got the oven on and started to do the sausages and part-baked cobs.

WD153.41.102 I knew I would not be hungry, too much tiredness for that. So I made only a small portion. But I was amazed to find I couldn’t eat all of it, nowhere near. The sourdough baguette only had two bites taken out of it. I was even too tired to make the sausage sarnies.

Soon settled down, very late for me. Full of aches and pains, seemingly coming from everywhere. With the mind muddled as it considered Tuesdays appointment, now increased to five!

WD153.41.102 Bad enough, but then just when I drifted off, the dreaded Colin Cramps started off! Legs and feet mostly. They woke me with such surprise, I knocked over the bottle of spring water, and the left foot shot out sending swivel chair into balcony windows, hitting the carers box and distributing the folders and paperwork over the carpet.

Life, eh?

Sunday 12th May 2019

Hawaiian: Lune 12 Mei 2019

WD 0.0.255c 05:15hrs. I reluctantly woke, despite having had a good six hours sleep, I still felt so tired. I spent a few moments deep in uhtceare, the mind stewing away. The dysania was beaten. I disentangled my plump body-mass from the £300 second-hand rickety recliner and got up on my feet. This was a painful operation, like the toes and feet, were hurting so, and the legs (Arthur Itis) were too! Getting to stand upright almost brought a cry of agony from me. Indeed, some quietly spoken curse words emanated from within, through gritted teeth. And that’s not easy when you only have few teggies left. Hehe!

This sudden activity was in response to a call to the Porcelain Throne. Maybe the Senna would be successful this morning. I limped taking care not to allow the ankle to go over this time and got to the WC, and hastily dropped them: then deposited my bottom on the Porcelain Throne (Well, plastic as it is now, Hehehe).

WD 0.0.255c7Sun01 The discomfort of getting the movement to start was memorable for its extremeness! But once this did activate, it was all over within seconds. To be followed by an LSPDOWWs (Long-Slow-Painfull-Drawn-out-Wee-wee). I can’t recall taking so long in my life.

The legs were showing great albedineity again. Although maybe not as bad so. Then again, perhaps they were?

A long time later, I cleaned things up and had a wash. A change of clothes, and off to the kitchen to take the medications. Decision time again. I’m not anywhere near as confident in making choices than I was before the Stroke; Not that I was all that sure back then. Huh! Do I take a Senna or not with the morning doses? Had things finally freed-up? I chickened-out and didn’t take a Senna after all. What a ditherer!

A good bout of sneezing shook me up, they were a bit vicious. The right-hand fingers-ends were shaking when they came into contact with anything. I don’t know why I mentioned this; it is a regular occurrence. Took the doses of conventional medicines.

I needed another what I thought was an urgent wee-wee, but it wasn’t. This time it was in the SWDWW (Short-weak-dribbling-wee-wee) style.

7Sun02Checked the Ankle-Support I’d washed and hung to dry. It seemed suitable to wear, dry enough just about. Got it out ready for the Carer.

On more bout of sneezing, that lasted a little longer.

I got on the computer to add photos and update and finished. Then posted the Saturday diary.

WD 0.0.255c Typing is not going to be easy today. The nerve ends in the fingers are a bit jittery. Still, correcting errors had become a way of life since I got home. And today’s persistent, ever-present mind waffling isn’t helping. Oy Vey!  Then went on the WordPress reader. I made a start on this blog up to here. 07:20hrs. No carer yet, he’s not late though, it is still within the time range. I wondered if I had made a cock-up when telling yesterdays carer that I will have to cancel Mondays help, as I will be out on my way to the Audio Clinic when they are due to arrive. All, very convoluted innit? Life! Tsk!

Went on CorelDraw to do the graphics for tomorrows post. Didn’t get far with it at all, the Carer called at 07:50hrs. He’s got the better of the Ankle-Support and had it fitted within minutes. I confirmed the cancellation of tomorrows visit. Explaining the appointment to get the hearing aids needed attending, and showed him the timing for the bus and meeting. He confirmed it had been put off.

7Sun11Got the kettle on and made a brew. I checked out the prescription availability stock. I have only enough medications for one week, up to next Monday! Doing these checks.

WD 0.0.255c I had to have three more pathetic, dribbling SWDWWs. I did take an extra Senna and one Furesomide.

Red sky in the morning – Shepherds warning?

Another SWDWW. I think we can take it that these were coming thick and fast, but very slowly, all day long? Humph!

Made a brew again, and back to the CorelDraw to create the graphics for tomorrow’s Inchcock Today. Two hours later, I had got two templates ready to use. Phew! THree wee-wees during this period. But the last one was more like an LSPDOWWs (Long-Slow-Painfull-Drawn-out-Wee-wee) So, I thin the Furesomide is working to free things? I do not like having to take drugs just so I can wee-wee or do something on the Porcelain Throne, but still, needs must I suppose.

I tried the Plastic Topped Throne. But the Senna seems to have stopped working, all I got was a little wind. Humph!

When I had cleaned up and gone to the kitchen, I wondered why it felt so warm in there. Then I remembered that when I washed the ankle-support last night and hung it to dry, I had increased the night-rate heater to help with the drying job, and had forgotten to turn it down again. Fancy that, me forgetting something. Haha!

I got the mushroom flavoured with some balsamic vinegar and Hoisin sauce, and got the slow cooker going. The finger ends were still getting the shakes and lack of feeling when I used them, especially when typing. And the sneezing spells kept showing up. Ah-well!

I must get a good shower t clean the crassulent body-mass, and scrub-up later, to save time in the morning. I shan’t do it too early so the shave will last longer.

7Sun11aI went on the TFZer Facebooking next. Plenty of knocks and bangs from above this morning?

Managed, hours and hours later, to complete a draught blog.

WD 0.0.255c Had a look to see if I could mend the rattling handlebar on the trolley-walker. Gave up again!

7Sun12Got the nosh prepared. Fries (Chips). Mushrooms and tomatoes. Ate nearly all of it, and had two slices of Polish Sourdough bread!

I turned off the computer and settled down with a drink of spring water.

Fell asleep for an hour or so.

WD 0.0.255c Put the TV on, but the headphones had broken and were not working!.

I decided it would be a good idea to ready things for the morning, and went through things I had to remember: Bus fare and times – Audio Clinic Cards, etc. Then I set about taking a shower shave etc.

WD 0.0.255c Which is when it all went wrong for me. I tried to fit the new sink plug, and realised I had bought the wrong size! Trying to mend the old one and gave myself a nasty slice cut on the thumb, that I can’t stop bleeding. Tried aftershave and Daktacort, then three plasters that were soaked straight away, and finally pads and giant plaster, then same again with soak pads underneath.

7Sun15Due to the shakes in the right hand, I reckon. Humph!

I put a plaster on it and continued shaving, teggies and took the shower. But the bleeding was unstoppable.

A right bloody mess all over the wetroom, shower curtain, WC and sink, walls… and me. You get the idea?

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The last dressing, I put on extra-tight.

I rang on Josie’s door to ask her if she had any plasters, as I have used all my stock up. Oy Vey! She suggested I keep my thumb-up. Hahaha!

WD 0.0.255c Huh, blood on the keyboard now. Huh!

I went on Facebook to report my lastest Whoopsedangleplop. Haha!

Well and genuinely tired-out now, but I think the bleeding is getting slower now.

Onto the £300 second-hand, c1968 rickety recliner, in search of sleep.

WD 0.0.0a 04:25hrs. Woke in dire need of the eighth wee-wee of the night! Possibly the cause of the tummy ache that had developed overnight. Months of minimal movement, now the EGPWWB, again! The PHBLWWs (Painfull-Hosepipe-Blasting like Wee-wees) have suddenly returned. Naturally, the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket) has been re-utilised and restored to a location close to the £300, second-hand, c1968 recliner. I found a couple of new expletives to silently use as well. Hehe!

I wondered to the WC, taking the EGPWWB for sanitisation with me, for yet another wee-wee of the same style as earlier. I had a wash and put on the expensive long Diabetic socks using the Sock-Glide. I’m so glad there are no CCTV cameras in the wet room, or some shots may qualify for a comedy award, or at least go viral on Facebook! Haha!

5Fri002WD 0.0.0a Fifteen minutes after starting the socking-glide-routine, I’d got them on. A record that was! I had to sit down for a few moments to recover from the effort that I had used up. Sad! And the socks seemed to be getting much thinner after only using them twice before. Oh dear! Still, they are comfortable, even if they make the Bank Manager Unfriendly. Hehe!

Cleaned up and tidied the place, and off to the kitchen, got the kettle on, and had to utilise the EGPWWB, again! (A good job it was close to hand, too). Haha!

WD 0.0.0a The hands seemed excessively shaky this morning, but the leg was not too bad, shuddering-wise. The first time they have been acting differently of their own accord. This might be a sign of things improving; What am I saying and thinking, things improving? For me? What a plonka!

Tried to sort out the medication box status, but got all confused, it looks like I am going to run out of some medications before the next prescriptions are due? A disoriented Inchcock gave up, having come across a mind-freeze subject, I think. I must ask for help on this. Hopefully Caroline or Shona might be able to sort things for me. My brain seemed incapable of grasping my medical stuff for some reason. Took the medications and was soon making my way to the EGPWWB, again! I washed out the bucket and antisepticalised it yet again.

5Fri003aGot the nearly cold mug of tea drank up, and had a look out of the unwanted or liked new, light & view-blocking kitchen window. By gun it cold when I opened up to take a photograph!

WD 0.0.0a The view was rather attractive though, and an idea for a poem came to mine – unfortunately, the need for another EGPWWB came as well. By the time I got back to the kitchen, the memories of my idea for a poem had all gone off into the ether. Grumph!

I got things ready for the Carer’s visit to fit the Ankle-Support for me. Then onto the computer. Answered a comment on WordPress, and made a start on this blog.

WD 0.0.0a Making another mug of tea, and the ankle went over. A few well-chosen words of discontent and self-recrimination were silently uttered! Only myself to blame though. I knew I had not got the support on and had not taken the stick with me, hence the ‘self-recrimination’ part of things. What a nudnik I am!

I checked the Google Calendar to make sure I had put in the Nottingham City Hospital Appointment for June, and I had. Smug-Mode temporarily adopted! There seemed to be a lot of medical appointments for next week.

5Fri004

WD 0.0.0a The Shaking Shaun affected hands and fingers, ensured I was spending more time correcting my typing, than writing it in the first place! Tsk! Ah, well!

I found that the email telling me my electricity usage for the quarter including the two months I was in the hospital or the home, had gone up by 38% on the previous one? Hmm?

06:40hrs. The late sleep-in, due to the late night, had left me a tad puzzled timewise. I had to rush a bit to get things readied for the Carer visit.

Oh, dear, a WC visit for yet another PHBLWW! I’d hoped to get to Sherwood for some food today… dare I risk it? Dare I not? Hahaha!

07:10hrs. The Carer arrived and soon had the Ankle-Support fitted. All done.

I was a little uncertain of going out what with the wee-weeing situation. But it is urgent I get to the Audio Clinic to get help with the stuck tubes and waxed up holes.

Sorted and washed the three bins, new black bags in and took the waste to the chute. Cleaned the top of the WC support. Feeling a tad weary now!

Made a small mug of tea. I mused and decided  I have to risk going out to and up Standard Hill and the Audio Centre. I put the Record Book in the jacket pocket.

Oh, dear, a WC visit for yet another PHBLWW. A minute later once again off for a wee-wee. This one was of the SWDWW (Short-weak-dribbling-wee-wee) variety. All change!

Off out, with trolley-walker and little faith of avoiding any accidents with the wee-wees. But I was wrong, and just managed to avoid any! Cheery Mode Adopted!

Angela and Roy were in the lift when it came down to me. I fear they did not look too enthusiastic this morning, but they cheered up later, thankfully. A lovely friendly couple.

Outside they sped off ahead of me to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Warden’s Temporary HQ. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationistical Meeting Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Where things like crockery and pottery get stolen from, Rumourmongering Clinic, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, Portakabin, where I caught up with them and some other residents before going out to catch the City bound L9 bus. Had a quick word with Generalfeldmarschalless Warden and Catwalk Model Julie, who is on her own looking after both Courts. She was a little cheerier this morning, bless her.

5Fri005A big crowd for the buses, but most of the gang got on the Sherwood bus, only a few on the City bound one.

WD 0.0.0a I noticed how pale and anaemic my hands looked as they held on to the trolley. I looked in the reflection in the window, and the face looked etiolated and ghostly as well. Ah, well, what will be, will be!

I dropped off on Queen Street and made my way laboriously and sedulously to and up Standard Hill to the Ropewalk and the Audio Clinic.

5Fri10

Along Upper Parliament Street, taking care with the three-wheel trolley walker. I could not help but notice the rather sad, perhaps dejected look on many of me fellow Nottinghamians faces. Despite the weather beginning to warm up a bit.

5Fri006I took a snap of Chapel Bar as I passed it. There was a conspicuous absence of citizens about for a Friday.

I risked life an limb to cross over the Pelican lights to get on Park Row to limp up Standard Hill to get to the Audio Clinic.

I made my way carefully, with great weariness up Park Row and Standard Hill.

5Fri007I looked at the starters on show at Brown’s Restaurant. It was for starters:

Somerset Camembert toast, with Gooseberry compote for only £10.50. Duck liver parfait, red onion marmalade brioche for only £6.75. Pan-seared scallops – rhubarb, smoked pancetta and pea shoots. (I bet Sister Jane would love them, she’s into scallops, bless her).

5Fri007aA little further up the incline, and I had a rest, to et the left foot ease off a bit. The pain was not very pleasant. Due to the chiropodist not calling for so long. Although the gal, Suzie did call the day after I had the Stroke. Huh!

The handlebar on the left was annoying me with its waggling loose. It shouldn’t bother me, but it does for some reason. It’s a funny old world innit?

WD 0.0.0a Not many folks about, but a chap came to me while I was resting, and told me I was looking deathly pale and was I alright, did I need an ambulance. I thanked the man, saying things were okay thank you. He looked a little disbelieving, told me to take care and wandered off, looking back at me a few times? Not doing a lot for my confidence, this. Hehehe!

I continued5Fri007b up the hill, carefully.

Arriving at the people-less scene at the clinic, and went in, getting out my Appointment/record book. I approached a lady on the reception desk, who looked right wee’d off with life. By the time I had told her of my woe and problems, she became a lot friendlier and cheered up. She handed me some Hearing Aid Batteries I asked her for. Then I explained the problem with the actual aid, and my not being able to get the tubes off, to clear off the wax. Thus they are not much use to me, telling her I did not know if the Stroke had left my fingers too weak to remove the tubing. She made me an appointment for next Monday with an audiologist, for 0845hrs. Usually, I would be pleased with it being so early in the day and would walk from home to the session. This time decided I will catch a number 40 bus on Winchester Street. I must find out what the cost will be, and make sure I have the right cash with me and sort out the times. (Well that’s the plan, anyway, Hehe!) The lady filled in the appointment sheet for me, and I was off outside.

5Fri08WD 0.0.0a I walked back to the bus stop a different way. Taking things even steadier now, as I was going downhill. And this trolley-walker does not like going downhill at all.

There were a couple of hairy moments en route to the City Centre, Chapel Bar and level ground, but no Accifauxpas. Smug-Mode-Adopted!

I called in a small Tesco and got tomatoes, a pint of milk and a box of two fresh cream eclairs. I intend to hand Doris one of them as a thank you for caring about me.

5Fri08aThrough the City Centre along Long Row.

There was a Big Issue gal outside Debenhams store; and not many folk about. So I slipped her a couple of quid.

I went up Queen Street to the top and the L9 bus stop. I timed it well for once, and the bus arrived five minutes later. I got on the bus without any hassle and got myself seated.

No 5Fri09other residents of Winwood got on at all, odd that. As the bus pulled off, I noticed the old Tall & Small clothing shop that had closed down, had opened up as The Culfather, A traditional Turkish Barbeque food outlet.

Just what we need, another takeaway in Nottingham! Considering that eleven have gone bankrupt in the City Centre already this year!

I got off at Winwood Heights, and exchange hello’s with a few people who were getting on the bus. But there was not enough time for any chinwags, as a wee-wee was needed.

I made my way as fast as I could, without risking injury to the apartment. I rang Doris’s doorbells as I unlocked my door, and handed her one of the cakes, splitting them up. Doris seemed to like it and accepted it. Pleased-Mode-Adopted.

Inside and hastened to the WC… and what a change in the wee-wee! It was an LHNCWW (Long-Hosepipelike-No-Sensation-Wee-wee), that seemed to tire me out, somehow? Ah, well, a change is as good as a rest!

Had a wash-up. Then, I got the computer on and added the Monday appointment to the Google Calendar.

Took the evening medications, and made a brew of tea.

Then got a landline phone call. “This message has been forwarded from BT… I rang off at this point. This is now several of these messages that have come through. Pete said some came in while I was in the hospital. I’ve hed three since being home. They tell me that my BT internet connection will be terminated within 24 hours if I do not ring a number within 6 hours… A con or fiddle of some sort, I assume! As I am not on BT? But it still bothers me! Has anyone else had these calls, please?

5Fri12

Very, very thin Bamboo socks

I started to update this blog, and the door-chime rang out its “I only want to be with you” tune from Dusty Springfield.

It was the postman, with a parcel. (Diabetic extra-wide socks that were due to be delivered next Tuesday), and the INR-Warfarin Anticoagulation and the current Deep Vein Thrombosis results and dosages for the week. The nurse, the beautiful nurse, is due again next week to take some more blood.

5Fri013

Warfarin results & dosage

As least the INR level is good this time, only .6 above the target figure.

The dosages all being the same makes things easier to remember this week.

Then Jane rang on the landline. (An unexpectedly busy afternoon/evening, Hehe!)

We had a long nattering session which I enjoyed. She had to go to get the nosh prepared for herself and hubby Peter.

5Fri014I went on the TFZer Facebooking and photo album adding.

I stood watching the rain, though the unwanted new multi-panes of glass needing cleaning, light & view blocking windows. The mind wandered, but it wasn’t missed. Hehehe!

Tended to the simple but tasty meal preparation. Baked beans flavoured with5Fri015 tomato puree, mustard, curry powder, demerara sugar and white distilled vinegar. They had been marinating most of the day, lovely flavour this time. Cooked and added some smoked streaky bacon, and did some part-baked cobs in the oven, to soak up the treat. Sliced an apple too. I’m afraid once again, the appetite was not up to the job. I left about half of it. Tsk!

5Fri016WD 0.0.0a Late for me, I settled to get some sleep. It took a while to nod off, and then the legs and feet kicked off, waking me. Arthur Itis and Colin Cramps had a go at me.

It felt as if some worms were wriggling about under the skin in the lower legs, and a little pain with it?

I took this photo in the semi-darkness.

Eventually, I drifted off to sleep.

03:30hrs. Up out of the £300 second-hand c 1968 rusty recliner and of to the WC. Along with a cracking headache from yesterdays cut and tumble.

Water heater light still on, but no hot water?

wd 255.102.0 Not feeling too good at all, down and many various new pains. Tsk!

Back to the WC, another RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee).

Updated the Wednesday post and sent some stuff to Pinterest.

Back to the WC, another RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee).

wd 255.102.0 Made a brew and took the morning medications. The headache throbbing away, differently, this time on the left side, but the cut and bruise are on the right side?

Back to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) again!

Tried to gather the thoughts and tasks for the day.

  1. Carer at around 07:00hrs to fit ankle-support.
  2. Amazon will be delivering some diabetic socks sometime today.
  3. I have to get to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights Flats, and Administration shed for the Generalleutnantess Wardens Temporary HQ, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed. Rumourmongering Clinic. Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room, to try and get some help with reporting the hot water not working.
  4. Drop some nibbles off for the Social Hour gathering, which yet again I will have to miss!
  5. Get in touch with the Haematology Anti-thrombosis Therapy team, to get the new Warfarin doses.
  6. Do the full Occupational Therapy exercises.
  7. Calm down and not feel so depressed. (It is terrible at the moment).
  8. Must stay in all day, for delivery, hopefully, a plumber to get the hot water going, visit or call from Mental Health nurse, etc.
  9. Take extra pain-killers. (Head and returning leg stiffness and soreness)
  10. Stay close to the WC. Tsk!
  11. Remember to take extra Senna to try and move the solids.
  12. Jump out if the balcony… Only joking, Hehe!

Back to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again!

Went on TFZer Facebooking.

Back to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again!

Got a wash and changed into the togs, got the sock-glide and Ankle-Support out ready for the carer to call.

wd 255.102.0 I got myself in a bit of a panic, searching for the wrist-alarm. Eventually finding it on my wrist! What an Eizel!

Doing things on auto-pilot now. I still keep thinking hot water is available from the tap. Saucepans of water on the stove on a low setting. Hope I don’t get the shakes again when using them, Phwert!

Made a brew and awaited the arrival of the carer.

Back to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again! Tsk!

Carer arrived, and I explained how and why I was feeling a tad depressed. He fitted the Ankle-Support for me, told me to have a good day, and off he poddled.

I went on Coreldraw for a while, to do a template. Before going to try and see Julie to ask her to call the maintenance people for me, about the hot water not being on.

wd 255.102.0 08:40hrs. I used the walker-trolly, having loaded it with raffle prizes and nibbles for the Social Hour that I will have to miss yet again! Walked nice and steadily to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights Flats, and Administration shed for the Generalleutnantess Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed. Rumourmongering Clinic. Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents temporary hut. But it was still unopened. So I took a slow wander to the end of Chestnut Way and started back again.

Coming towards me I spotted Cyndy. She had a natter with John (That may be the wrong name, Tsk!) at the bus stop. Then I followed her, with her treats for the social hour crew. I explained about the hot water situation and that I had hoped to ask Julie if she could call for me. The hearing aids tubes being waxed up solid and stuck did not help. Bless her cotton socks, she whipped out her mobile and rang them for me straight away ♥. All sorted, it is on an emergency, and they will arrive sometime today, or night. I was thanking Cyndy for her help and noticed a white van going down the road through the window. The trailer wasn’t going through the window, I was looking through it… made a mess of that sentence, didn’t I? Tsk! I thought it might be the new diabetic socks being delivered.

wd 255.102.0 I chased after the van, which got delayed waiting for a works tractor, and caught up with the chap and asked him if the parcel was for number 72 – but it wasn’t, it was for number 62. Ah-well!

The rush with the trolley-walker about creased me – but I managed it. (Smug Mode Adopted!)

I met Doris as I was going into the flat. She couldn’t stop, cause she needed to see Robert the caretaker to get him to have another look at her gone haywire radiator settings.

Got in and to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again! Tsk!

Updating this diary, and a jolly decent electrician chap appeared to sort out the tripped water heater. We had a natter and laughed while he did it. He then showed me where a boost button was for the water heater. Pressing it, causes it to run for an hour. Brilliant, he gave it a press for me. It had tripped-out. About the fourth time, this has happened.

I then did some draughts on WordPress.

Sorted some bags of rubbish and took them to the chute.

Back to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again! Tsk!

wd 255.102.0 I decided to catch the bus to Sherwood. What made me think of doing this with all the things on today’s list I’ve no idea. I got as far as the lift and thought; What are you doing pillock? The socks are being delivered today, and the IRN nurse is due? A brain freeze maybe? Tsk! Ay-yay-yay!

4Thu02Got the meal early today, I felt like I could eat some today. I got the balance right for once this time. Battered fish fingers, apple, and tomatoes, with some milk roll bread made into tomato sarnies, and a lemon mousse, but I didn’t eat the dessert and left some tomato slices and some apple, but not much. A filling nosh, all the same. Nice and tasty too.

Half-way through eating, Sister Jane rang. The line was terrible, but we had natter of sorts, bless her. Oh, I’m making my meals too big, and overeating bread, I think. Hahaha!

4Thu03aBack to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again! Double-Tsk!

15:40hrs, the doorbell rang out it’s Dusty Springfield “I only want to be with you” chime. It was the Diabetic socks, being delivered. Thanked the man and stored them away in the airing cupboard with the others.

Back to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again! Double-and-a-half Tsks!

I fell asleep, and the nurse let herself in and woke me gently so as not to make me jump. (This didn’t work, Haha!).

As I walked her to the door after giving my blood. Well, she took it, haha!, I found a letter near the door. It was dated 24th April? I have an appointment with a Dr S K Raghunathan at the C-SKR2C Stroke medicine, located near the outpatients, on the North Corridor. N5, City. For Tuesday 25th June 2019 at 10:30hrs. I have to take with me: This letter – A list of medications including how much you take, and how often (I have no idea really?) – Glasses and hearing aids that I use – And an up to date mobile phone number. I added this date to the Google calendar. And I thought retirement and old age would mean peace and rest. Schmuck!

Back to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again! Treble-Tsks!

4Thu05I opted to nip down to the foyer and see if a washing machine was free to use, taking the stick and laundry bag with me. One was not in use, but only the device I have never used before was available. I noticed that Gruppenführeress and Ballerina Warden Julie was doing the Fire Alarm Testing with another lady, and she threw the clobber in the machine in seconds and got it going for me.

wd 255.102.0 The timer showed 20 minutes. I liked this, cause the clothing I was washing was from the Oaks Home and had only been worn once, I liked the idea of not waiting for too long.

I nipped outside in the drizzle, and by gum, it was nippy! I took some photographs of the complex from Chestnut Way.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

4Thu08The new ceiling had had some new, I think, roof light openings.

I took it that they were not finished yet?

Another look at the machine, and it was 4 minutes left. So I hobbled in ready to move the togs to the dryer when the washer ended its cycle. I moved the stuff and got the dryer going, then out to the foyer and the crossword book.

4Thu08aI noticed Angela and Roy coming in from a taxi, and took this snap of them. A grand couple.

I asked if it was alright if I put their photograph on my blog and Angie agreed.

They both looked tired-out, bless them. I wished them well, as they went to get the lift up to their flat.

wd 255.102.0 Went to check on the dryness of the laundry in the dryer. It felt okay, so I started to take out the things to fold them, and found an odd sock! Humph! After a search, I found the missing sock still in the washing machine and rescued it!4Thu04

Packed the bag and off to the elevator. I couldn’t help but notice the mess that had been scratched on the reflective wall end. Huh!

I got in the flat, to the WC, for an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) yet again! Flipping heck. Tsk!

I put the wet sock on the clothes airer and stored the rest away.

I took the evening medications and made up next weeks dosage pots. Then made a brew, it was late, but I decided to catch up on this blog to save time in the morning. During which I had four visits to the WC for an RWPSWW. Getting ridiculous this Wee-weeing!

I realised that I had forgot to take off and wash the Ankle-Support. But it was far too late to get it done and dried now. Schlemiel!

Sethoso: Laboraro la 8 Mayi 2019

Wd BLACK 04:15hrs. I woke and lay there gathering some minuscule resemblance of appreciation, comprehension, and perception of what the hell I was doing, where, and who I was! But concentration soon formed, and recognition and understanding were thankfully grasped and retained. But I don’t mind telling you, those few scatty-moments, scared the hell out of me! I really thought another stroke was taking place. Phew!

Now in my usual only slightly confused state, the realisation of the need for a wee-wee became urgent. As I extracted my cumbersome overweight body from the £300 second-hand, c1968 rickety recliner, it became evident that the right leg was a lot worse this morning. It took some effort to control the shaking, and the pain in the knee took a while and some painkillers to dissipate.

The stick-assisted hobble to the WC took so long: I thought an accident might occur. But I got there in time; In time for the most sprayed out weak trickle! A new name for this type of wee-wee was given. RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) It took me ages after the pathetic five-second evacuation, to clean up where the stuff had sprayed. The WC, floor, cabinet, sink, etc. The antiseptic disinfectant bottle is running very low now. Haha! I reckon the leg shaking so badly made things worse.

I had a wash and did the teggies, and got dressed. Not easy, with having to use the time-taking Sock-Glide. Limped in not a little pain with the leg, into the kitchen. (That sounds like I took the leg with me, which I did, of course, I had no choice in the matter… I’m losing it again here! Hehehe!)

I got the kettle on and took the medications with an extra pain-killer. Within half-an-hour the knee pain eased-off, when I was not using it. Made sure the Ankle-Support strapping was all ready for the Carer’s visit.

I got the computer on and checked the calendar for today. 07:00>08:00hrs Carer to fit the Ankle-Support strapping. 08:00hrs Anticoagulation blood test nurse. 09:30hrs: Occupational Therapy Nurse.  Axonotmesis (injury to the peripheral nerve of one of the extremities of the body [Legs]. The axons and their myelin sheath are damaged in this kind of injury. Although the endoneurium, perineurium, and epineurium may remain intact), nurse – sometime today.

Went on the WordPress Reader section. Then updated yesterdays blog diary. Then on Pinterest to add some photographs. Checked emails and responded to messages.

Wd BLACK Again, I felt the need to make my way to the WC. This time was exactly like the first effort, but with the leg having steadied down on its shaking, I avoided too much ‘Spread-it-about-splashing’! Again it lasted only a few seconds but was a tad more determined this time. Then the need for an evacuation from the other end. At least I thought so, but only wind and pith escaped. Huh!

Wd BLACK Back to the computer, and started this Inchcock Today off. It was not long, before more signs of my needing the Porcelain Throne arrived again. So, not taking any chances, I made my way to the wet room. No luck at all. Wind accompanied by an unpleasant aroma. But a sprinkle and weak spraying of RWPSWW followed? It seems that both evacuation areas are somewhat reluctant this morning. Humph!

3Wed01aWd BLACK I washed and off to the medical cabinet and took a Senna (to encourage the back end) and a Furosemide (in the hope of proper flowage from Little Inchy). Made a brew of tea.

The mist was clearing away, and I took this snap of the view from the unwanted new, light and view-blocking kitchen windows. I used this picture for a later background to Inchcock’s Thoughts on CorelDraw.

Back to the Porcelain Throne. There was still no movement, although the senses tell me there should be? Oh Heck!

The carer is due to do the Ankle-Support strap for me. Ah, here he is! All sorted within eight minutes. This chap has got the hang of the Ankle-Support strapping now, bless him.

I went on the TFZer Facebooking, and put some pictures from yesterday on the albums.

The rather glamorous and highly desirable, but too young and good looking for me (Dam it!) nurse arrived to take some blood for the INR Warfarin anticoagulation clinic. After she had departed, I made a mug of tea, while her: oh, so appealing face tormented me in my memory. Well, I can’t help it! Hehe!

Wd BLACK I had a go at setting up the Coreldraw 2019, without any luck – made a right mess of it! I got in a right proper pickle! I gave up.

Caroline Sonia0935hrs: Caroline and Sonia, from the City Hospital Occupational Therapy Unit arrived. Much heavy going therapy followed, for an hour or so.

Sonia departed, leaving Caroline to do some Q & A and Therapy. (Aching all over, now, Haha!).

Lovely ladies, patient and kind. The session was finished around 11:35hrs.

I caught up with this blog up to here. And then took some black bags to the chute and recyclable stuff to the bins outside on the way to the bus and Arnold to go to Asda to get some bread and butter in.

Called at the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Warden’s Temporary HQ. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationistical Meeting Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Where things like crockery and pottery get stolen from, Rumourmongering Clinic, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, Portakabin.

Wd BLACK T’was raining, so no photographicalisationing on the way out. Met Frank in the hut and Cyndy joined us later, and a good gossip ensued as we waited for the bus. Cyndy got on the same one as I did, (For once I caught the right bus. Hehe!) A good chinwag en route. Cyndy kindly rang hubby Eric and arranged for him to 3Wed03call around 15:30hrs, to have a look at the wobbly handlebar on the three-wheel trolley for me. That was kind!

I dropped off the bus outside Asda and went in and got the shopping. Spent £10.40, so some will-power was used. Squash, Lemon Mousse, Potatoes (hopefully to be shared with Doris again at the weekend), Butter, mushrooms, turnip, carrot, parsnip, apple, and some Milk 3Wed05a1Rolls. I sneaked one in the freezer later for Jane when she calls again, but don’t tell her! Haha! Then over the road and some of the fantastic extra large eggs, to had to Cyndy or Eric helping. Some lemon ice cream and beef steaks on offer at Fultons Foods.

I thought I’d catch the L9 bus on its way to Bestwood, and stay on and come back all the way to the flats.

Wd BLACK When the bus arrived, the lady driver asked if I was going to the flats, cause this bus is on change-over and I’ll have to get off and wait for the next bus from Bestwood. “Fair enough”, I said, cursing my luck! She heIped me off at the terminus. It wasn’t a long wait though. That driver also helped me onto the bus when it came.

Wd BLACK In Arnold, a lady and her disabled wheelchair-bound son got on, and I moved to another chair to enable them to get in the disabled section. The kind driver helped them on and moved the lad and chair into position… belting on the right knee with the big electric chair as he did so. Apart from the pain, his intentions were good, Haha!

3Wed05a1aBack at the flats and I was getting weary as I walked back to the flat. Nobody about at all, but for me it was late, and tiredness dawned.

The weather looked a bit bleak, too.

And a wee-wee was much needed. Which I tended to first-thing. I may get out the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket) later on, for fluids burst forth, not vigorously, but there was no controlling things! A bit like the VSFWBWWWs (Very Short Frequent-Weak-But-Wayward-Wee-wees)

Put the bits bought away, got some spuds on the boil, and I made a start on this update.

Wd BLACK Eric and Cyndy arrived at 16:00 to have a look at the trolley. But Eric said, “Nowt can be done!” Ah, well, I’ll have to live with it rattling, then.

Got the oven on to warm up, ready for the beef steak.

Imbibed the evening medications with a drink of fresh orange juice.

Wd BLACK 16:00hrs: The hot water was cold! I presume that the electrics had tripped out again. It’s done that three or four times since I’ve been in the flat. But, I’ll have to wait until 18:00hrs to see if it comes on. I’m not the luckiest of people, am I? I’ll report it in the morning. No shave or bath tonight then. Tsk!

Depression Mode Engaged! With good reason this time.

Called to see Doris, who returned the book her offshoot had read and enjoyed. I asked if her hot water was working and it was. She said the heater comes on at 18:00hrs, so I’ll wait until then to see if it come back on, but my hopes and run of bad luck, along with my EQ, say’s it will not.

I suppose I can get a shave using hot water from the kettle, (hopefully, I will not get the shakes and cut myself or pour boiling water on myself), and a wash of sorts.

Wd BLACK Dispirited, everything seems to be going wrong for me at the current time, and I don’t like it! Humph!

Got the nosh served up, not that I feel like eating now – moroseness, self-pity, and lack of any good luck is doing me no good at all.

Got a shave of sorts. But, I am fed-up, disheartened, dejected, gloomy, melancholy and in the doldrums… oh, and demoralised! Enough is enough, surely some good luck is due to come my way? No, maybe not, then!

Wd BLACK And today I told Caroline that I do not get depressed!

3Wed05a2Wd BLACKPeed-off, I got the plate of unwanted food and tried to eat some it. I ate around 40% of it and didn’t enjoy any of it at all.

Wd BLACK I felt grumpy, irritable, churlish, cantankerous, and crotchety. To make things worse, I had to use the kettle and saucepans to get hot water to wash the greasy plate, etc. The same for a shave, going twixt wet room and kitchen!

Sorry if I do sound 3Wed08ratty… but I am!

Wd BLACK I decided to get a shower do the teggies and have a shave. I soon found out that the legs were getting back to their old bloated misshaped and spotty condition, with the anaemic, paleness, with different leg thicknesses that they were before the Stroke!

3Wed06I thought I was a little depressed earlier, with all that is going wrong again. Now things are getting enough to try the patience of a saint!

Wd BLACK While shaving, I kicked some bottles at the base of the sink, that I’m blown if I can remember them being there before – anyway the result was half an hour or so trying to stop the bleeding where I caught the razor on my head as fell over.

3Wed07Wd BLACK I finished the shaving and did the teggies, then got under the shower. Had a good scrub up. Afterwards, the head was still bleeding again!

I must try not to back-head a sink again, and try to gain control over the arm with the razor attached in future! Hahaha!

I wonder if I can sue anyone for this calamity of the ht water failing again? No, better not. Knowing my luck if the case went to court I’d probably get on the wrong bus and be defaulted. Silly Alter Cocker!

When I looked at these pictures, I realised just how pale I am looking. I might get some rougue foundation cream? Hehehe! Oh, I’ve just noticed, the hairs have gone from my shoulders and chest? Huh!

This Lucky Nottinghamian tried to get some sleep. But the hassle and failures of the day were bouncing about in the brain. So I got up and updated this load of tosh.

Wd BLACK Still no hot water, although the light had come on at the emersion heater?

Fed-up!

Inchcock Today – Saturday 4th May 2019 – A risky, much regretted hobble out without the walking aid. Tsk!

Scots Gaelic: Disathairne 4 Cèitean 2019

WD 0.0.30A 03:30hrs. Woke feeling so cold for some reason. Then realised that using the three-wheeled trolley meant I had to move the towel heater in the hallway so I can make room for using the walking-aid-trolley. Phwert! Ah, well!

I got the foot saddle ready for the carer when he or she comes later. Then got a shower and shave, did the teggies.

WD 0.0.30A Rang Sister Jane. She had a good time last night, but can I please not ring her so early! I felt such a fool!

The carer arrived early, different chap this time. The good news is I had mastered the sock-glide this morning. He only had to put the Ankle Protection strap on for me.

WD 0.0.30A Did some blog catching up from the notepad until it was time for me to take the medications. Nice not to forget for once. With month or so of people giving me the meds, it is so easy for me to forget to take them. Grumph!

Got ready, then off to the bus stop with the trolley-walker of course. Called in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights Flats, and Administration shed for the Generalleutnant Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed. Rumourmongering Clinic. Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room. Some bits were left over from the cheap out-of-date food selection. Some leeks, that looked all wet and runny. But seeing them made me decide to get some leeks when I was out in Arnold shopping at Asda in Arnold.

WD 0.0.30A However, my getting on the wrong bus forced a change of mind. Nebekh! I decided to go to the old fashioned but not cheap greengrocers on Mapperley Tops, Woodborough Road. So I dropped off the bus and had another battle with the three-wheeled walking aid as I nearly fell getting off the flipping bus again!

I made my way to the shop. It’s excellent shopping there, cause you can buy one leek, one onion, one carrot, one mushroom, and one potato, which I did, along with some large eggs for brekkers in the morning. Mind you; they keep the scales out of view?

Walked over to Sainsbury’s store, resisting buying any meat from the butchers. Swank Mode Adopted! The plan was to have the vegetables done in the slow-cooker and add a tin of beef, later on, a stew of sorts, but we’ll see. Got some tomatoes and bread thins

KWaf07On the walk home, had to walk downhill to get to the Woodthorpe Grange gates to cut through to the flats.

I took this photo of the clouds, making sure I got the leek sticking out of the trolley walking aid, just for fun.

By the time I got to the gates, I’d had some harassment of sorts.

WD 0.0.30A Farther down Woodthorpe Drive, two Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist shot by very close me from behind, and the bigger of the two gits, actually spat in front of me, and the spittle hit me! Swine!

KWaf07a2This made me so angry!

I recovered my composure, not suitable for my getting excited in my condition, is it?

A bit further down and the trolley again proved it does not like going downhill at all!

I took this shot of the traffic slowing down for the speed-check monitor.

KWaf07a3I cut through car park into the Grange and around the footpath on my way to the flats. It was too heavy going shoving the trolley over the semi-wet from last nights grass.

As I stopped for a breather, a man and woman with a little white, long-haired dog came and asked me if I was alright as I didn’t look so good and a bit pale skinned. I thanked them and said I was only taking a breather.

Further along, I met them again, and we had a natter. You can see in these photographs I took of their friendly dog, how windy it was, despite the sunshine.

KWaf07a4

I took some more photographs as I struggled down the gravel hill to the complex. There is no doubt about it; this trolley will have me over before long.

Somehow I got down and into the apartment without injury, but it was a close thing a few times.

I got in and started the stew going from the purchases in the slow-cooker.

Then spent too much time doing the blog updates, and got caught up at last, and posted them off, did some Facebooking.

6Sat01Got the fodder finished and served up.

I ate it all up without any bread.

Felt a bit bilious, and it was very unsettling laying there in the same place and position in which I had the stroke.

All of which was too much for me. I ended up in panic mode when eventually settled, very late.

The Oaks Residential Care Home

Saturday 20th to Sunday 21st April 2019

Malay: Sabtu 20 Hingga Ahad 21hb April 2019

Saturday 03:00hrs.Rose and got the shower and shaving done, readied the washed earlier foot controller-pad ready for help with being put on. Wrote pas for staff to get some disposable razors and a newspaper for me sometime and asked carer if this would be possible. The answer was now, not today. The radiators in the hallway outside the door started rattling, clanging and banging away.

Pete called, I called him back. Asked if he could bring some aftershave for me on his next visit (Still waiting) with him. He said yes.

12:50hrs, egg sarnies and a cake for the meal. Settled to watch some Carry On Films, beginning with Carry-On Don’t Lose Your Head The radiators began clattering and banging again. Some engineers in attendance to try and mend the problem. Which continued.

Got the dizzies. Had a veg-curry and rice for my nosh. No dessert. Feeling bilious, but it cleared later. No sleep due to the now louder than ever radiators clanging away.  They calmed down then, but they were still giving some noise out.  Casino Royale watched on the box, medications given.

The radiators changed to sound like a slow turnover diesel engine.

Then watched the Men in Black, film as some cars were racing each other outside.

Sunday 21st 03:00hrs. The radiators in the hallway outside the door started rattling and banging away, waking up several tenants. I got up and had a shower and shave. Got the foot controller-pad ready for help with being put on.

At 04:00hrs the radiators changed to a tune like a battering ram.

Shave and shower Still awaiting the aftershave. Thus more nicks and cuts acquired. Jan and Pete called. No aftershave yet, still waiting. Radiators changed tune to like a throb-bang-shudder routine. Karen bought my medications. Nosh was a hot dog with onions (Tasty!)

The ankle-pad was applied by the delicious carer.

Radiators altered to a noise like chug-chug-bang routine.

Arguments and bad language at nosh-time.

Then changed to a sort of Dub dun-dun rattle, with the odd bang thrown in. Later, changing to a persitent Ratatat, thud bang. But very loud now!

Inchcock Today – Friday 3rd May 2019: First time out on my own!

2019 April 09.jpg

Friday 3rd May 2019

Welsh: Dydd Gwener 3ydd Mai 2019

0330hrs: Got up, and straight on to doing some diary updating. I want to get them all done before posting them so I can get them all on at the same time, and thank the TFZers, residents, mates and cyber friends for all the kind things and pressies, get well messages, visits etc. even if I am still a little confused. But I mustn’t spend too long on the web, as writing is a bit arduous for me yet. So many shakes and nudges. So, cheers to everyone, God Bless you all! ♥

Did a few from the notepads I had with me in hospital, then got the ankle-support device ready for when the morning Carer arrives. Got a shower and shave, a pleasure with some aftershave handy for any cuts. Hehe!

The sock glide is not easy to use, it took me 45 minutes to get one sock on! The carer said he would have a look at it for me in the morning. He fitted the Ankle Brace, filled in the log and departed. He arrived in the forty-five minutes either way if the appointment time, just! Hehe!

I updated a few more diaries from the hospital stay. I wanted to see how I went going out on the bus on my own, using the three-wheeled trolley of course. I set out to go to the Acorn, no… Oaks Residential Home where I’d been for a couple of weeks after the Stroke Ward threw me out, due to bed shortages. Haha! The intent being to had over some nibbles as thanks to the staff who looked after me during my stay.

I wanted to put my phone on charge for a bit, but could not find the charger. Ah, but I am confident I’ll find it later.

I felt a tad nervous, but took my time, nice and steady. The Axonotmesis nerve problem is making the stroke effects worse, but the legs were not so bad this morning, shaking-wise, and the strap-support helps a lot.

I got the trolley with just the nibbles in it and set off out.

Had a great chinwag at the bus stop. Christine, Cyndy, Margaret, Mary, Doreen and others all missed me. This brought forth some witty comments from some of them: Like, “I thought you were dead!”, “Where you been?”, “Who said you could sod-off?” and “Oh, yer back then?” amongst others. Hahaha! So happy to be back!

I caught the City Bound bus and had a natter en route. I dropped off at the bottom of Carlton Road and walked with my trolley thing to and up Bath Street to the Oaks Home, very carefully and slowly.

WD0.0.128 Overcautiously maybe, but the getting off of the bus presented me with a shock – that damned trolley does like going downhill at all. Tsk! Nearly twisted my knee and clouted my chin getting off. Ah, well!

WD0.0.128 I was let in, and the manager accepted the nibbles. Then asked me if I had left a mobile charger in my room. Ahem, I had!

I thanked them and walked into town and get some food from the pound shop, but forgot to get some bread. WD0.0.128 When I came out of the store, the rain was belting down!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I got some chips for tonight’s nibble meal that Sister Jane had left me to eat, bless her.

Got the L9 bus home. Had a natter with some residents on the way home. Then again nearly toppled over when I tried to get the trolley off of the bus! Going to take some getting used to, this trolley is!

KWaf06bGot in, and did a bit more away-time diary catching up on.

Then did the ablutions and got the marvellous ankle-strap-support taken off.

Got the nosh sorted. Sarnies chips and Jane’s pork pie with its load of gelatine in it… Smashing! A pot of satsumas in juice, to follow.

KWaf06cAmazing coloured sky and view tonight.

Took a photo of it, but it didn’t come out so well.

All in all, taking everything into consideration, I wasn’t feeling too bad at all!

Phoned Sister Jane see how she was and thank her again for the help.

I was still a tad nervous when the shakes came on overnight, but no problems.

Hey-ho, things are improving at last. I might regret saying that! Hehe!

Cheers folks, love and best wishes. ♥
