Welsh: Dydd Gwener 22 Mehefin 2018
Not sure when, but I woke up in the night in need of the Porcelain Throne. I went to get a drink of fresh orange juice from the fridge in the kitchen. And noticed this enormous amount of smoke in front of the noctilucent clouds.
I looked on the web later, but I could find no news of a fire. Do the farmers burn-off stubble at this time of year?
Back to the £300 second-hand recliner, and surprisingly found I nodded off again.
0420hrs: I stirred and waited for the brain to calm down. It was racing away, full of fears, frustrations and foible ponderings. I’m going potty you know. Hehe!
Made a brew, and got the Health Checks done. Sys and Dia well down, but pulse had shot up.

I realised when I got the tablet pots out, that I had missed last nights doses. Klutz!. So I just took the Warfarin and Magnesium along with the morning tablets.
Made a start on updating the Thursday diary.
Minutes later, the Liberty-Virgin Internet went down on me.
It was down for about an hour. Which is pretty good for this company.
I tried pressing the reset button. But it just didn’t restart at all. So I turned off the computer and once more pushed in the reset button.
No Joy. So I turned off everything and restarted the lot.
Slowly the lights flickered, and when I say slowly, I mean it.
I showed great resilience and patience during this farcicalisationing period, I thought.
Made another brew of tea, had a short-sharp wee-wee (Several as it happens) and made up the graphics on CorelDraw, on the right here.
Waited for the return of the service, then added the timings and put it on the blog.
I think that really, all of the tenants in these flats, those on BT, Sky and Talk Talk seem to have the same unreliability as we Virgins.
Tickled pink at getting the connection back, I began the updating of the post again.
I had received an Email from the Doctors Surgery. In response to my refusing their late appointment for my blood test. They offered me one for the Thursday next, at 10:20hrs. I sent back a reply. Explaining that I went to the City Hospital for my test because they had not sent me an email with an appointment time. Also, Thursday is my only one opportunity for any social intercourse, that takes place every Thursday from 10 > 11 o’clock. I asked them if I could go to the hospital again this week on Wednesday. I’m currently awaiting an answer.

The second mug of tea had gone cold, so I nipped into the kitchen and made another one.
A “Red Sky in the Morning – Shepherd’s Warning” sky out there now.
Sorted out the rubbish bags and got them ready to go to the waste chute.
Got ablutions tended to. Jolly-good shower, no cuts shaving, teggies cleaned and under the refreshing shower. Did the medicationing and got my togs on. Grubbled about to make sure everything I needed was in the bags or my jacket pockets.
For some reason, it dawned on me, that I had allowed my thoughts for past week or so, to turn to a gnomic, jealous and bitter mode. I decided to try and not let things get to me so much. Having no idea how to do this, but, I thought it a good idea to at least try.
Hence I did not mention the noise from above today. Twit! I just did say it, didn’t I? Nudzh!
All prepared, hearing-aids in, umbrella in the bag, shopping list (Although it vanished by the time I got to the shops, Tsk!), Bus Pass etc. and set out to the bus stop. Along Chestnut Walk, I stopped just before the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Flats, Unterscharführeress Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents socialising room, shed. I found something so beautiful about the view from my standing under the trees near the parking area, I had to take this photograph of the lovely view.
I got to the bus stop, and Betty and Tony were sat on the bench. I love listening to them talk and share things. Some other tenants joined us, and a bit of nattering took place that I also enjoyed. Tony helped me change the hearing aid batteries, thanks, Tony!
Off on the bus and into Arnold, off and into the Sainsbury Store. I had hoped to catch the next bus back after shopping, but after spending such a long and fruitless time searching for the shopping list, I realised I was not going to make it in time. So I poddled around the store and still spent a decent amount, but in a more leisurely fashion. Hehe!
The list I’d misplaced had things on it that I would usually get from Morrisons.
£17 spent, on Mini Pork & Pickle Pie, bottled water, breadsticks, oven-bottom-muffins, cheesy baps, apples and fresh garden peas, and an impulse purchase of this ‘British Steak Hash in London Porter Gravy.’ Braised Steak topped with Polenta-crusted potatoes and Barber’s tangy farmhouse mature cheddar. It was the look of the meal on the box cover that appealed to me. Looks rather tasty to me, despite the high cost of it.
Paid the gentleman on the till, and out and had a hobble into Arnold Front Street.
The general tone of the mostly elderly Nottinghamian populace, as they did their shoplifting… Sorry, shopping, was one of moroseness.
I worked out how long I had to spend until the next bus arrived, and it was about 50 minutes. So I went into the Asda (Walmart) store to spend even more money. The feet were already beginning to sting. Tsk!
I didn’t get too much from here. Lemon and Lime spring water, TV magazine for next week, Well, I like to know what I can fall asleep to watching, Haha! Ice cream cones and a bag of cheese curls. The queues at the checkouts were horrendous. So I walked to the other end of the store and used the self-serve tills.
There were only for of the tills without a red light on. So I waited my turn for one to become available. But, a man and woman, nimbler than I, shot in front of me, beating me to it. The tattooed gentleman rubbed his nose and face-stubble with the back of his hand and gave me a stare that said; “Worra yo lookin’ at?” Another till red light lit up. The three young lady assistants gossiping nearby showed no interest in this or anything else in the shop, it seemed. Still, they were having an enjoyable time nattering, it would have been rude to have disturbed them.
I was in no rush. Another till went down, and I managed to get on one of, by now two remaining operational machines. I put my things through without any cock-up.
Got the stuff bagged up. Getting rather heavy to carry, now. I passed the young lady assistants, still deep in conversation, but I could not hear what about.
Out to the bus stop on High Street.
Ten minutes later, the L9 arrived. The bus filled up en route. The sunshine came out even stronger. One bag at my feet, the other on my knee and I felt the warm wetness that told me that the fungal lesion was bleeding.
Not complaining mind, it’s been bloodless for 24 hours or more now.
These elderly passengers were delighted and gossiping. Laughing and enjoying each others company. It cheered me up just listening to them. Oddly, no tenants from the flats were on or got on en route.
One or to residents got on as I got off of the L9. Exchanged hellos and how are you’s with them, as they boarded the bus.
I went into the Wardens Shed, with the intentions of asking for help with phoning the Age UK about renewing my Content insurance. But no one was in so I couldn’t wait, or rather, didn’t want to wait about, as the lesion needed attention.
So, I left and returned to the apartment. Dropped everything and into the wet room. Cleaned things up and applied the Beclomethasone valerate cream. Washed-up and adorned fresh PPs.
Made a brew of tea, and drank it while I sorted and put away today’s purchases.

I got the pod peas boiling, and a few chips in the oven. Then, I thought I’d nip back to the Wardens Den and ask if they could help me, with the insurance phone call.
As I was walking along Chesnut Walk to the shed, Doris (Some of the resident’s names might not be correct, cause I can’t remember many, Tsk! Sorry), was coming in the other direction. We chatted a minute or so. She told me that Warden Deana is on holiday this week. Thus, Warden Julie is looking after both flats residents at the moment on her own. And there was no one in the hut.
I walked back with Doris to the apartments. Nice gal she is. I hope I remember on Monday to ask for help phoning.
The meal consisted of, a cheesy bap, sliced some gherkins, tomatoes, chips and a Pork Farms mini pork and pickle pie. With caramelised red onion chutney and a mug of fresh orange juice.
Not as tasty as it looked, though. The pie was dry and bitter, the chips tasteless, tomatoes the same. But the cheesy bap was good and tasty. I thought at first that I had overdone the podded peas cooked in demerara sugared water with onion salt. But these peas turned out to be the highlight of the whole meal. Ate them and the gherkins all up, but left half of the chips. After one bite, the rest of the dry tasting pie. I ate less than a half of the tasteless Spanish tomatoes. Best taste rating I could give this meal was 4/10, Eurgh!
In the morning, when I got around to updating this post, I found the photo I’d taken last Friday’s trip to the NHS drop-in centre and could not find at the time.
St Mary’s Church on High Pavement in the City Centre.
Got settled, and accompanied by noises from above: But of course, I am not complaining, just mentioning it. No point in my risking getting another telling off from the Nottingham City Homes for complaining about the noise. As the Management, told me; He is doing nothing wrong, just following his hobby of model making. I don’t want to lose my home. And watched some of the World Cup Matches on the box.
I nodded off for a few minutes. But when I woke with a start, I just had to dismount the £300 second-hand recliner and check what the noise was that had woken me up. Nothing found untoward after looking around.
But the mind was off again, with its directionless delving into problems and concerns without finding any solutions of course. Jumping from one subject to another. So, it was very late by the time I got to drift off again.
Ah, well, such is old age and insanity. Hehe!

Th Sys, Dia, and the Pulse had gone back up again, about time too.
I went to the kitchen and realised just how odd my legs were this morning, again, always a change every waking up.
I went to make sure the keys were in the jacket pocket in the hallway, and guess what?
The Iceland delivery arrived while I was writing the paragraph above.

Then, got the fridge and freezer things in one area, and cupboard stuff in another, and checked the invoice.

Strolled down in the sunshine and warm wind back to the flat. Got inside at 10:50hrs.
Did the midday tablet taking and got on with updating this blog.
Can’t say I really enjoyed this one. Rating of 5/10 given for taste value, no, make it 3.5/10 after all.

I turned on the kitchen light, and nothing happened. Got the camera and took this picture and the light tube started to flicker into life, eventually lighting up the room.
Made up the nibble bags for the blood test nurses at the hospital.
Gathered the black bags, recycling jars, etc. and off out to the chute. Dropped the waste bags down the chute en route. To the lift, arrived at the lobby beneath at exactly 0800hrs.
Over the road and up by the Tree Copse into Woodthorpe Park.
laughing. I got an EQ conceived thought, that something nasty would happen this weekend. Fingers crossed I am wrong.
The traffic was heavy, and I made a mental note of being careful, when crossing the many roads I will need to on the way to the City Hospital.
The mind wandering as I legged it along towards the A611, were of a controlled memory of yesteryear for some reason.
I was well deep in thoughts, and not concentrating on where I was going, as I wallowed in nostalgia.
There were entrance/exit roads to cross on this stretch of the roadway.
I hobbled to the bus stop, the feet were stinging a bit now. Go a number 40 bus and was the only person on it at the time.
when I about five years old, a confrontation with the Mau-Mau, and voted Liberal once. So I can’t be accused of being fearful (Although I am).

Went to take the last medications of the day.
Went to catch up on my Facebooking next. All went well until I suddenly lost about fifty comments, there one minute, gone the next. Oh, I am confused now!

Caught my reflection in the kitchen window as I was getting the Health Checks things prepared. (A bit of a shock, but I’m alright now, thanks. Hehe!)
Brewed up and got the medications taken. No creaming, lotioning or medicating done yet, I think I’ll do them when I get the showering session.
I took the black bags to the chute on the way out.
Down and outside, I took this first photo of the front of Woodthorpe Court, showing how far they had got up with the undersealing job.
I turned and took a long shot of the Winchester Court flats.
This time of the day, during the week, I get to see many folks. The Willmott-Dixon lads and managers, people, going to or coming from walking their dogs.
Out to the bus stop and more chinwagging was enjoyed. Caroline, from the Car Home at the end of the road, was with Doris (I might have got this pleasant lady’s name wrong, sorry about that if so), and I was in the middle of listening to tales when the buses arrived. Doris and I were the only ones who got the City bound L9. I said my farewells to Doris, as I alighted a few stops further on.
Bottom Muffins (Hurrah!). Yoghourts. Beetroot salad. Pork Pie. Fruit Fool. Ice cream cones. Frikadellens. Finally some fresh tomatoes.
Winchester Street and home. Hard to find the optimum words to describe his sensation.
A little nearer and I took another shot. The Willmott-Dixon lads were still busy with upgrading, deliveries and removals.
in, through the foyer, up in the lift out and into the flat without any human contact.
The lads finished for the day. Leaving me a

I put the high pulse down to my having been a little more active than usual before doing the checks.
laundry from washer to the dryer.
When I leant back to take the shot of the Woodthorpe Court with the lift lobby window lights on, there were no dizzies whatsoever. Good that!
Back up to the apartment, and had a long-painful wee-wee.
The timer chirped, and I made my way down once more to the laundry room, to collect the clothing.
To the lift and up to the twelfth floor.
Went to make another brew. Taking the Nigel Neuralgia and Duodenal Donald’s hassling with me, of co
CorelDraw to do some advanced page top graphics.
The place was busy this morning. Plant machines were locating, delivery lorries queuing, chaps setting off up into the sky in the external hoists, men out directing the traffic, as the incoming trucks had blocked the outgoing cars and vans from getting along Chestnut Walk in their bid to get out.
I got off the bus early, and, with Penny’s best wishes I set off on a walk to the NHS, although I wasn’t exactly too sure which was the optimum route to take to get to it.
thought I had. Hehe!
the Health Centre.
after the man to see if I could cut-through to the Drop-In centre.
I saw the chap in the far distance, and he too was going to the NHS building. I had to climb a bit of rough ground to get into the apparently vacant field.
Had a walk around the streets in search of some wholemeal oven-bottom-muffins. But I could not find any at all anywhere. Ah-well!
the flats from the bus stop, and crossing the road on the hilly bend can be a bit dodgy. But, the bus gets there quicker with it taking a less circuitous route.
Dropped off on Winchester Street and got over the road without any bother.
Got the meal sorted and served up in the oven tray it was finished off roasting in. A little less to wash up. Haha!
What an emotional ride this was too!

This morning’s HC results were almost exactly the same as yesterday’s were. Not bad at all I thought.
the earache seemed to be getting worse. I went to the wet room to try putting some Phorpain gel on the area.
Did the next week medicine pots up, and made a mug of tea.
Got the fodder served-up.
Cleaned up and off to the kitchen to make a brew and do the Health Checks.
I think the slight increase in the Sys and Dia results are well within range.
when they meet Russia, they get thrashed and annihilated!. Grumph! They should have listened to De Gaulle and not let us into Europe, then they would not be blocking Brexit and generally being nasty to us! The Gits! Oh, I got a bit carried away there. Sorry!
Got the nosh prepared and served up.

Back to the apartment, had a long wee-wee again. I dropped a black bag down the rubbish chute with the new miniature opening on the way out.
Then I poddled into the bottom field. Taking this photograph from the middle of it as I made my way painfully towards the Copse.
walking all funny. Puzzled as to why?
As I went into the path into the Copse, I turned and took another picture.
Walked over the hill and down to the bus stop, and caught a Nottingham City Transport bus into the City Centre.
caught a tram out to Radford.
As I left the store, a bit of an altercation was taking place. I moved out of the way as fast as the weight of the bags would let me.
I got in and this time, had a short wee-wee.
I went to take off my day clothes and get into the jammies, and doctor the plates of meat.
Then got the nosh sorted.

After yesterday’s welcome sharp rise in the Sys, it had slowly sunk down again in a worrying fashion. From 167 to 154, to 140 and this morning to 124?
The arm looked a bit patchy from yesterdays blood taking. No pain or itching now, though.
I tried two pieces of the chocolate I bought as a treat for myself yesterday.
0630hrs now.
An Email informs me that they have made several substitutions again.
The Morrison chap arrived. Nice bloke, carried the delivery to the kitchen for me, bless him.
The freezer and fridge are once again nice and full. The freezer is chocker-block.
I made as quick a time as I could, made the plates-of-meat sting a bit. Got to Woodthorpe Court through the lobby and had to wait for the lift.

Got a very early for me, nosh prepared. A delightfully tasting one, too.
World Cup. Russia v Saudi Arabia. This match brought back old memories of FIFA unfairness.

Back out again.
Making my way down the Winchester Street hill, I had a Dizzy Dennis attack near the garages as I neared the bus stop shelter.

One bee looked like he was wearing a splint on his left back leg. Hehe!
Getting through the parked vans on the pavement was a bit of a struggle for me.
I got to the Sherrington Park Medical Practice, with plenty of time to spare, and my general mood had brightened a bit by then.
Out of the store and to the bus stop. As you can see in this photograph, when I arrived at the bus shelter, I was the only person there. Moments later I was joined by five other prospective Nottinghamian passengers.
I had to sit on one of the shallow pop-down side-saddle seats. This encouraged Arthur Itis to join in with Duodenal Donald and the Plates-of-meat in giving me some more hurt. Did I say this was an up and down sort of day emotionally for me? Oy vey!
I got the chips in the oven, podded the peas and got them cooking.
I thanked her and wrote down the details.
