Inchcock Today – Thursday 29th June 2017: Not one of my luckiest days!

It could happen to anyone – Hehe!

Thursday 29th June 2017

Cebuano: Huwebes Hunyo 29, 2017

0300hrs: Lay there in the £300 second-hand recliner for ages. First trying to recall the dreams without any success again.

Then thinking through the days’ activities.

0325hrs: Gingerly I escaped the recliner, had a Dizzy Dennis moment and made my way to the wetroom, for a Porcelain Throne session. All went well.

Reflux Roger and Rumbling Rupert were both active this morning.

Did the Health Checks:

Update the weeks’ records. Only the ever increasing weight was of any concern, I think.

Made a nice strong mug of tea and took the morning medications, then back to the wetroom for a wee-wee.

Checked the letter from the NCH (Nottingham City Homes) with the dates of the upcoming individual flat Survey times. IT is mine next Monday between 1300hrs and 1700hrs.

Computer activated, and I put this in the written diary and the Google calendar.

The tea had gone cold, so went to make another one. As I did so, I could make out some noise, even without the hearing aids in, so knew it had to be pretty loud.

It was like a metallic grating. Popped the head out of the window and nearly got myself blown back inside with the howling wind, paperwork in the other room exploded all over, kitchen towels toppled onto the floor and the wonderfully wet rain splattered through, soaking the counter and me!

Humph. Hehe, serves me right!

Looked down outside but could see no reason for the noise, that was now no longer audible?

Had a wee-wee. Then back on the computer to start this diary off to here.

Realised then, that I had not finished yesterday’s journal yet, so got on with that. Got it done and did some WordPress reading and comment answering.

Facebooked a while.

Got a TFZer graphic finished and started on a new one, very complicated and involved. Ran out of time, but I’m reasonably satisfied with the progress. I’ll see if I get time later to finish it, or at least get some more work done on it.

This is the one I’d completed. With Janet from the TFZers.

Turned off everything and got the ablutions done. Scratches and nicks acquired during the shaving process.

Moved the stuff into a bag that is a bit more waterproof (It still let the wet rain in, Tsk) bag and set off taking two jars with me to drop off at the Bottle Bank.

As I hobbled along to the bank, so much of the compound was blocked off with temporary Harris railings, I had to walk on the road for a good distance to get there. The rain was light at this stage, but the wind was a bit nasty. I’ll see how the new umbrella can cope with it later.

When I got into the shed, a lot of Tenants were already in there early, and laughter flowed freely.

A new bloke had taken the seat where I usually do, the only chair available part from Bills was right in a corner away from everyone. Put the raffle prizes on the stand and gave out the nibbles early, being as I was going to have to leave early. I told them all to take two picks, so as to make less weight to carry to the doctors and back. Not that it mattered in the end, I left the box there on the floor when I departed later. Huh!

Bill (William on Sundays) arrived, I noticed no one had taken his seat! Humph, Hehe!

No one to talk to that I could hear if they replied. T’was such a lonely session. BJ arrived with his better half, had a few words, but while I did this someone sat in the corner chair. Laugh?

I gave out a few of the emergency towels, and bid farewell to everyone – but nobody answered (That I heard anyway). Began to get depresses then, Ha!

As I got to the end of the road and turned onto Winchester Hill, the rain commenced to heavier, so, up with the new brolly. It rattled a lot from the handle area in use but coped with both the wind and rain well enough.

Two ambulances were at the old people’s flats on Mansfield Road, took the photo from under the new brolly.

The rain got even worse as I got over the brow of the hill into Carrington. The buses and lorries were hitting the standing water and cascading with the stagnant rain when they did! The trouser leg bottoms were soaking now. Hey-ho!

Into the surgery, in plenty of time and asked the receptionist if I could make an appointment for the CHD Checks. She booked me in for Tuesday 18th July at 0930hrs. Requested a sample tube and she gave me one.

Sat to wait my turn and I noticed I’m dragged in wet leaves on the souls of the shoes. Got a tissue out of the bag and tried to pick some up, but the knees and back prevented any success. I did cope with getting the shoes off and wiping them, though.

Nurse Nichol came into view, it was such a pleasure to see her smile as she greeted me and led me into the treatment room.

Gave her some Chocolate Orange discs, thanked her and into the reception area and gave them their nibbles, only one gal there and she didn’t answer me. She did manage an unsmiling lifting of her head that said, Yes alright!

Am I imagining the bad day I’m having social-wise or what?

Out with the brolly up on the road and walked down to the Lidl store. Where I got some replacement nibbles, a minced-beef pasty, canned tomatoes, smoked bacon, a tin of garden peas and a wholemeal loaf. I was intending to put this bread in the freezer for later, but there was no room. Humph!

Out and to the bus stop, where I could not get under the shelter for the other passengers waiting, and with the two bags now, the brolly could not be utilised, so I got wet again. (No problem in doing so, I was becoming an expert at it this morning. Hehe!)

Caught the bus and dropped off in Sherwood. Over the crossing and to the L9 bus stop.

The lovely lady from the 8th floor was there, and we had a good chinwag and laugh.

The L9 was late coming, but we didn’t mind. The rain went down to a trickle of that; Fine-soak you through type.

Up to the flats and now they have moved the bus stop there, we got another soaking as we had to walk the length of Chestnut Walk to get to out foyer.

Up in the lift, said my farewell to the gal, and she did to me.

As I got in, I had a wee-wee. Into the kitchen to put the bits away, the rain came walloping down again.

A moment later, it went back to the drizzly wet-rain?

Took the medications and did the Health Checks, which produced some surprising result: Sys 154, Dia 77, Pulse 94, Temp 36.0? Perhaps I did not settle down enough before taking them?

Got a can of tomatoes in the saucepan and bacon in the oven tray ready to cook later.

Had a wee-wee.

Put the nibbles in the spare room.

Made a nice strong brew of Thompson’s tea bags.

Computer turned on and saw the photograph above, I had the idea for a bit of TFZer fun, to put some of the gals onto it. So I did. I put Pattie and Marie, my heartthrobs onto it. Hope they like it.

Started the updating of this diary.

Checked on Facebook and then WordPress reading.

Back to CorelDraw and working on that difficult TFZer one.

Got it done it last. Phew!

TFZer ladies, Josie, Betty, Linda, Janet and Dizz with support from Andy and Thomas.

Had a wee-wee.

Got the meal out and served up.

Unhealthy but so tasty a simple meal. Mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and smoked streaky bacon, with some Polish half-rye sourdough bread.

Lemon fool to follow.

Had a wee-wee.

Got settled to watch some of the excellent TV programmes on offer tonight. A great Inchcock selection!

1800hrs: Channel 72: Two episodes of the first series of Law & Order

2000hrs: Channel 20: Hetty Wainthrope Investigates – then New Tricks

2200hrs: Channel 21:  Law & Order SVU, two episodes.

I nodded off at around 1812hrs when the first commercial break came on and woke at midnight just as the credit screen at the end of the second of the Law & Order SVU finished.

Had a wee-wee.

Tsk!

Wednesday 28th June 2017 – Got the laundry, Food delivered and some TFZer Graphics done. Apart from weeing, nothing else much. Hehe!

Wednesday 28th June 2017

Macedonian: Среда, 28 јуни 2017 година

0218hrs: Shot awake with a start. Little Inchy very sore indeed, Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna both going away at me. Tsk!

No memories of any dreams, but again, I knew I’d had some. Decided to get up and do the laundry room tasks while I felt up to it and in case the ailments got worse.

As I dismounted the £300 second-hand recliner, Dizzy Dennis joined in with the others.

Collected the in-need-of-washing gear and down to the laundry room, got it going and back up to the apartment.

Checked on the fire door while I was nearby. The handle to press to open was tiny I thought?

Cleaned the kitchen floor and wiped some surfaces, but the innards hassle prevented me from doing any more stuff for now. I’ll try again later if I get the time and feel up to it. Hello! Reflux Roger joined the attack now! Humph, not a good start!

Had a wee-wee. Then back down and moved the clothes from washer to the dryer, and back up again.

There were no signs of any need for a Porcelain Throne session yet. Odd that?

Did the Health Checks: Sys 147, Dia 73, Pulse 88, Temp 35.5, Weight 14.8

Got the computer on finished the Tuesday post.

Forgot to put the picture of the meal on it.

Roger Reflux, was certainly getting bad now?

Then down to the washing room again, and collected the clothing.

Bagged up the items and cleaned the filter.

Found a ladies sock in the dryer, so put it in view on the window railings.

Wiped the surfaces and left, going into the lobby to go to the lifts, I noticed that outside it was raining rather persistently and the roadway on Chestnut Walk was flooded!

And I have to go out to the surgery this morning too, for an INR blood Test. Tsk!

Up to the apartment and got the kettle on and out away the clothing.

Took a photo through the kitchen window from well back.

Made a brew and pondered on what needing sorting today.

Clinic: Must phone them about the operation date.

Tenants Social Hour: Not managed to get there for weeks now. And today I must leave them at no later than 1025hrs, so as to get to the surgery in time for the blood test.Put the DVT card and crossword book in the bag ready, then got the raffle prizes and nibbles sorted for the meeting.

Susan the foot lady coming twixt 12-1300hrs. Hope I can get back in time from the doctors for her.

Put the DVT record card, the CDH letter (Must remember to ask for a sample tube) and crossword book in the bag ready, then got the raffle prizes and nibbles sorted for the meeting. And… the new umbrella. Hehe!

The flipping sneezing has started now. I keep looking to see if anything has shot out on the floor each time. You know, a lung or something like that. Haha!

Did the ablutions early, no showering cause of the noise this early (0515hrs), so a good stand-up session will have to do. Hopefully, something will move in the Porcelain Throne needs department while I’m in there.

Had a wee-wee.

Back in a bit.

I’m back, smelling all fresh after the ablutionalisational session. The Throne was utilised without any problems this morning.

Made a mug of tea and took the morning medications.

The rain had gone down to a drizzle, but the skies seemed to promise more to come?

Had a wee-wee. Awaiting the Morrison delivery any time now.

Started researching for help with Windows Movie Maker for Brother-in-Law Pete.

No luck.

Morrison man arrived.

Might have overdone it again. Huh!

Facebook for a while.

Had a wee-wee.

Then realised I’d got my days a bit mixed up… Humph! It’s tomorrow the clinic and the surgery, not today. Sad innit?

Got the peas and potatoes in their pans ready to do later, having fish tonight.

Redid some TFZ graphic work.

Made a cuppa, did the midday Health Checks and medications were taken.

Had a wee-wee.

Sue arrived to tend to my tootsies. She was in and finished in about ten minutes and off and gone. Never known her so quick, and did not cut me once, either. She seemed a little tense, bless her. So I assumed she had a job on or some hassle going. Gave her some nibbles as she left.

I went into the wetroom for a wee-wee and stubbed ly left big toe on the flipping mop bucket. Huh!

Got the fodder prepared and consumed.

Fishcake, smoked mackerel fillets, cod in batter, Surimi sticks, potatoes and garden peas.

Sourbread and butter, and apple and a lemon yoghourt. Rated this one as a worthy 9.2/10.

Did the Health Checks and took the medications.

I must take care now the doctor has put me on 60mg codeine phosphate tablets instead of the 30mg. She did this I think, to help with them stopping the Morphine until after the GUM operation. Must remember to ring them in the morning.

Had a wee-wee.

Got the goggle-box on and ready to watch the Chile v Portugal semi-final. What bits of I saw in between nod-offs was good, end-to-end stuff. Of course the team I wanted to win, lost on penalties.

Had a wee-wee.

Tried to watch some first season Law & Order on Freeview channel… er… forget now, an American one.

Gave up, the need for sleep was too overpowering.

TTFN.

Inchcock Today – Friday 23rd June 2017

Friday 23rd June 2017

Portuguese: Sexta-Feira, 23 de Junho de 2017

0400hrs: Up, out of the £300 second-hand recliner chair and did the Health Checks: Sys 48, Dia 76, Pulse 88,  Temp 35.9 and weight 14st 8lb.

Got the laundry sorted and down to the machine.

Back to the flat and got the Thursday post finished off and posted.

Down to the laundry room and moved the things into the dryer.

Back in the apartment, got the nibbles into the bag for the nurses. Had a wee-wee.

Took a photograph from the kitchen window.

Down again and got the second load of washing out and into the dryer with the first load.

Up once more, and started this diary off. A trouble-free Porcelain Throne session.

Down to collect the things and cleaned filter, machines and counters.

Getting lighter now, took a shot of outside the foyer doors.

Put the clean stuff away, had a wee-wee and updated this diary.

Computer turned on. Looks like a bit of wet weather is due for Nottingham:

Did some WordPressing, then checked Emails.

Ablutions are done and set off to walk to Carrington and the surgery for the INR blood test.

Called in to see any both or either of the Obergruppenfureresses at the hut, but none in, so I carried on my hobble. Down Winchester Street hill and left onto Mansfield Road.

The row of shops shown here had one of the seven businesses open and trading… very sad!

Sister Jane rang me, saying that she’d Emailed me a photo she’d taken from page 16 of the Nottingham Post last night.

With a photographicalisation of Jenny, our ex-warden, now Tenants Representative for both of the blocks. In praise of the Nottingham City Homes response to concerns about fire safety after the horrible disaster at the Grenfell flats.

Up and over the hill and down towards Carrington.

A Nottingham Pavement Cyclist passed by me. I wish they were all as considerate as this one. Slowed down and gave me plenty of room so as not to make me jump. Gold Award was presented, in my mind!

Further down and saw these flowers, Hydrangeas, I think, in a garden close to the surgery.

Bootiful!

Got into the surgery and reported to the receptionist, who said she could not find my appointment. Oh dearie me! After a while, she informed me that the designation was for yesterday! She consulted someone on the phone then said for me to sit and wait and she will squeeze me in later. I thanked her and sat dow, got the crossword book out and the Appointment card from the DVT Anticoagulation Unit at the hospital from last Tuesday. There it was clearly printed: “Next Appointment 23 June 2017” Today!

It was the Reichsarbeitsführeress nurse on duty today, not Nichol, and she came to me in less than a minute after I’d got the crossword book out. Demanded, politely mind, to see the ‘Stop Enoxaparin’ therapy record from the hospital (With the correct date on it). I gave it to her.

She kept on to it, which was a little bit naughty, I thought, because printed on all of them is:

So this cannot be done now.

She explained that they normally do not do INR injections on a Friday, this is why they made the appointment for Thursday… three times she said this during the process, rather defensively than her usually barked out commands when I visit, like “Sit!” Not a mention of ‘Sit’, ‘Don’t move’ or ‘Press that hard until I tell you to stop’ came from her lips? Haha!

I find her likeable actually. I say this, in case she sees it on the web, and because I am a coward and scared stiff of her, I suppose! Tsk!

Gave her a box of chocolates and the receptionist their bag of nibble as I departed.

Limped down into Carrington proper and called in the Lidl store. (When will I ever learn, Tsk!)

Just avoiding being hit by another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist, who does not get a Gold Medal from me, cause he was totally out of it with the headphones in and doing a fair imitation of drunken Barry Sheen without an engine! Hehe!

Into the Lidl shop and got Lemon Fools, lemon yoghourts, mini-chicken weiners, apples, cheese cobs and nibbles for the staff and tenants social hour.

Caught the bus back into Sherwood. Then the L9 bus up to the flats.

Checked the times at the stop for the bus tomorrow to get to the hearing audio place in time for my 1330hrs appointment. 1032hrs and 1232hrs it is due. If the second one is on time, I should make it easy enough. Fingers crossed.

Chinwag at the bus stop with some other tenants.

In the apartment, a wee-wee first, then got the purchases stored away. Planned on having the cheesy rolls with bacon and the last of the Frikadellens for the meal, with some tomatoes, if they are still edible, had them in a while.

Computer back on and updated this diary.

Took a shot from the window of down below. Not a lot of activity from the workmen yet. Wait until they start properly. Mainly painters and plasterers on the job at the moment.

Did some Facebooking to catch up.

Took me hours. Tsk!

Did a graphicalisation for Rita Cobb, for her birthday.

Tried to get some more TFZ graphic work done then. It isn’t coming on how I expected or wanted it to, so I deleted everything and will try again later in the week. Frustrating.

Had a wee-wee.

Got the fodder sorted.

I have to say that this is the worst effort in years. A terrible mistake made in thinking these cheese rolls from Lidl looked or might even possibly be tasty!

Eurgh! Never again!

Most of this ended up where it should have gone in the first place, in the bin.

Fell asleep, found some scribbled notes when I woke an hour or so later, totally unreadable I’m afraid, and the memory couldn’t recall anything about writing the words or the dream. Shame that.

Had a wee-wee.

DVD put on, but back to normal tonight, five minutes or so and off to nod I went… but not or long. I shot awake feeling confident, that it was morning… Ah, the hearing aid test today I thought, must check the time of the bus.

Got up had a wee-wee and was about to take the morning medications, realised I’d missed last nights medications, and it dawned on me it was still night time when I looked out of the window.

Felt a bit of a fool, swore at me. Then got my head back down. Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Weekend 17-18th June 2017: Another messy, Confused Two days.

Saturday 17th June 2017

Uzbek: Shanba 17 Lyun 2017 Juma

Woke around 0600hrs, very tired and feeling in desperate need of a good rest from the Enoxaparin injections and all the related hassle. No memory of any dreams. Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and off to the Porcelain Throne. Did the ablutions as I was as usual, not sure of when the District Nurse would arrive.

Got the kettle on and did the Health Checks, they were all over the place this morning. Sys: 174 (Up from 154) Dia 81 (Up from 74), Pulse 74 (Down from 86), Temp 35.0 (Samish), Weight 14.82 (Up a bit more) – Can’t wait for the midday checks to see them then.

Dizzy Dennis called on me a few times. A headache is developing above the eyes, I assume this is because of the lack of rest and sleep?

Had a wee-wee.

All cleaned and smelling fresh now, I got the computer on and finished the Friday post.

Started this one off to here, and then did some WordPress reading.

Had a wee-wee.

Started Facebooking, and Grenfell disaster came to light. I searched for the latest news in response to a post about it. Something caught my attention in a report from the residents who were woken by the Taxi Driver: Neighbour Maryann Adam, 41, said no smoke or fire alarm was sounding in the building when Behailu was forced to evacuate his flat. ‘He knocked on the door, and he said there was a fire in his flat. It was exactly 12.50am because I was sleeping and it woke me up,’ she says. ‘The fire was small in the kitchen. I could see it because the flat door was open. There was no alarm.’

If the flat fire-door had not been closed, would this have made the situation worse? Surely it would? I do not try to blame or accuse anyone with this observation, just would like to find all of the causes.

Had a wee-wee.

Went to make another mug of tea and I could hear a dog barking so clearly, even without my hearing aids in.

He was 12 floors down and a few hundred yards off, half way up the gravel path to the park. Managed to get a half decent shot of him by hanging out of the window. Boy, could he yap! Hehe!

The District Nurse arrived at 0925hrs. Cor, what a cracker! Got me all hot and bothered, of course, she was too young for me, but a sudden delightful yearning arose for the first time in years. It soon faded, though. Huh! Hehe!

Got on with doing a graphic for the TFZers.

Just got an Email telling me my Morrison Delivery is due in a while.Did I remember?

Did I remember? Ahem!

Carried on creating graphics after a wee-wee and making a mug of tea.

The next one took ages to get something like I wanted it to look, but I got there in the end.

Got another completed, but not the one I wanted to do for TFZer Shirley.

Lillie is in this one on the left. Reasonably happy with it.

I’ve love to try and get it in sepia but having problems with the background.

I’ll try it again mind you, although I anticipate I may have to give up on it and do another sort for her.

Done my best, this is it on the right. Got TFZers Shirley, Linda and Thomas in it as well.

I just had to turn everything off and get a nibble and a sleeping session it, hoping I don’t oversleep and miss the evening Nurse.

Drifted off into a deep slumber for a few hours, to be woken by the mobile ringing, but I was too slow to answer it. Got a voice message, it was the Nurse Controller saying they would be late tonight. Just as well really.

The poor nurse was hassled when she arrived and under pressure. She told me she’d done three shifts worth of jobs already tonight. She wanted to know why I could not do the injections myself. Fair question, as she has not seen me during a Dizzy Dennis visit. I must ask at the DVT on Monday if I can do them myself. Poor gal left in a rush to get to her next patient, leaving me feeling a bit guilty.

Made a mug of tea and took the evening medications rather late. Got the computer on to update this hilariously messy two-days-in-one diary, because I was still so tired, that if I did let myself sleep again, I was nervous of not waking in time for the morning nurse’s visit, and get in trouble again.

Did the Health Checks.

Feeling a bit disconsolate, de-meritorious and inconsolable for some reason.

Sunday 18th June 2017

Afrikaans: Sondag 18 Junie 2017

Heavy eye-lidded and feeling blameworthy, at fault, in the wrong, responsible, answerable, accountable, liable, censurable and condemnable, reprehensible and almost sinful. Suddenly at a new low spiritually.

I suddenly remembered I have not visited the Porcelain Throne for ages now? Finding it hard to concentrate now, to keep on to thoughts. If you know what I mean? Wondering why I Googled Side-Affects of Enoxaparin.

I reckon with Confusion and Irritability in the list explains why I am constantly battling with myself to make decisions, and always thinking I make or have made or am going to make the wrong ones? Which is usually right this weekend!

I’ve only had to have these injections twice before, but they were for only two days, about four doses. With the INR level so low this time and not coming up so soon, it has been about 16 injections this time. Maybe this accounts for the depressions, confusion and irritability with myself?

Hello, I’m coughing like a good one now! No demands for the Porcelain Throne since yesterday morning? Had another wee-wee, though.

I’ll take a photographicalisation from the kitchen window to cheer myself up. (Desperate measure now)

Terrible efforts,  took three, in different modes on the camera, but none of them was any good.

The lone star in the sky reminded me of me? Hehehe! (No charge for the chronic poetry here folks)

Well, that failed to cheer me up. Humph!

Had another wee-wee.

Took the medications (Extra Senna) carried out the Health Checks: Looking alright.

Checked the Emails and responded to some WordPress ones.

Onto Facebooking.

AndyBack onto graphicalisationing on CorelDraw.

Had a heck of a time getting all these done.

So glad I did though, hoping they like them on the TFZer site.

Canada’s finest in the first one. Pattie. My desire you know?

Janet next, with Meritt and yours-truly J Ponysneaking into it with my camera

Hope Janet likes her pony.

Hehe!

Bleeding from the left leg now. Humph! And both limbs have swollen with water retention, which confuses me considering the number of wee-wees I’m doing.

Had another wee-wee. Hey-ho

01Fitted an old graphicalisation up and reposted it.

A selection of fantastic TFZers in this one.

Lynda, Patricia, Lona, Thomas and Andy, along with a few of their pets as well.

Then I moved on to do one for Andy’s Birthday, AndyDrinkwhich is today.

Great chap is Andy, he’s from Canada too.

Off for a wee-wee.

Made a cuppa.

Found I’d left the fridge door open, so closed it. (I’m quick ain’t I? Hehe)

Checked the leg, still leaking just a tad.

7Sun4bThe oddly sized legs tickled me. Well, that’s not the right word, but it’ll have to do.

Must remember the Morrison delivery coming today, coming because I have a feeling that I may be kept in the hospital on Monday when I go for the INR blood test.

The bleeding while the INR level is so low, that cannot be a good thing.

7Sun04aMade another mug of tea.

I used the tripod for the first time when taking a photographicalisation out of the kitchen window.

However, it was not tall enough for me get a shop properly, so, I may have to invest in the longer one.

Noticed that the injection holes in my tummy, the right and left, did not match up count-wise?

And… why being as the weight has gone down a decent amount, have I still got the flabby tummy? Hehe!

Into the wetroom for the ablutions. Just getting out of the shower, when the intercom rang, the morning nurse had arrived. Got myself decent by the time she got up to me. All done in short time and off she went.

Had another wee-wee.

Might have a meal later today, I’m feeling better, apart from the bleeding chin and Dizzy Dennis’s attentions. Bacon I thinks?

Watched some stuff on the U-tube thingy.

The Morrison man called.

Put the food away and got an early noshing session in. Bacon sarnies with trimmings.

Put the headphones on to listen to the radio and nodded off. During which I dreamed about my suffering vivisepulture. But I was calm and fascinated by the experience. I thought:

I wonder if I can count all the knots in the wood inside the coffin before I die for real.

Why the box I was laying in is built from Fyffe’s banana crates from the fifties?

How can I see the knots and grains in the wood when there is no light in here?

How did I snuff it?

Did I leave the hot tap running?

Why am I wearing an Oliver Cromwell outfit?

On and on questions came into my mind… I’m sure at one stage a thought/question was ( I think possibly the best and most intriguing one of those I could remember):

“I’m fed-up with all these issues now, I hope I wake up soon?” Hehehe!

When I did stir, the need for making use of the Porcelain Throne appeared, at last. Can’t remember the last visit! Haha! I can laugh now, because there was no extreme pain and no bleeding from the experience, as I anticipated there would be. Almost a pleasure!

Had a wee-wee and set to doing some cleaning, mopping hoovering and dusting.

Then Dizzy Dennis assaulted me rather nastily, so a sit-down and a cup of tea with the medications was called for.

After a while, I felt a lot better and got on with sorting out the paperwork that had built up on the mini-desk that Duncan gave me when I moved into the flat, (Thanks again Dunc!) into their respective folders.

Suddenly felt tired again now, so I visited the wetroom and did the ablutions. All went well, apart from spraying myself all over with the Dettol Antiseptic Disinfectant spray in error for the citrus antiperspirant. Tsk! Had another wee-wee.

Made a brew and took this photographicalisation from the kitchen window.

Back to the Porcelain Throne, but it was a false alarm.Had another wee-wee.

Had another wee-wee.

Got the computer on and updated this twollop.

Checked on Facebook. While doing this, two District Nurses arrived to see to me.

Both worthy of a 9.2/10 rating for their sizeable perfect forms. Again they were in a rush. They did tell me though, that the Winchester Court Flats had four fire engines outside! Oh dear!

Back on Facebooking.

WordPressing next.

Had another wee-wee.

Went to make a mug of tea, and just had to take this photo of the view.

Emails next.

Had another wee-wee.

Head down and nodded off feeling exhausted.

Inchcock Today – Friday 16th June 2017: QMC for Enoxaparin shot and INR Blood Tests – Got told off and a right farce in communications with the District Nurses! The Night Nurse was not happy…Felt sorry for me today! Hehe!

5Fri01

Friday 16th June 2017

Swedish: Fredag 16 Juni 2017

Woke and rose from the £300 second-hand recliner around 0530hrs. Tired and weary with Duodenal Donald, Dizzy Dennis and Anne Gyna all giving me grief… off for what must have been the tenth wee-wee of the night. Tsk! To the Porcelain Throne, Haemorrhoid Harold had been bleeding a little – this might mean the INR Warfarin level has gone up a tad at last.

Going to the QMC Anticoagulation Clinic on the 0930hrs L9 bus (That’s the plan anyway) to have Enoxaparin injections if needed and a blood test.

5Fri02aMade a mug of tea and got the computer on.

Spotted a letter for Age UK. Thought it was circular when it arrived.

Opened it to find my insurance for the flat and contents had expired!

Sod it – another thing I forgot to change details for when I swapped banks.

Did the Health Checks (Not too happy with them today, but still) and then I took the medications then.

5Fri03

5Fri02Felt a bit unwell overall, depression coming on methinks.

Still, the view from the kitchen window was stunning to me.

I like all that greenery, which is how my face should be looking according to how I feel. Hehe!

Got on with the diary updating and checked the Emails. I must remember to go see one the Obegruppenfureresses before I catch the bus to the hospital at 0930hrs and ask for help with phoning the Age UK and resetting the insurance cover with new details.

Feeling like there is so much to do, and no time to do it, and with so little sleep due to the injections early and late every day, things ain’t right. Getting behind with paperwork as well. Energyless I am. Ah-well!

Got the nibbles, crossword book, umbrella, mobile phone, hat, paperwork and camera in the bag while I thought of it.

Got the ablutions tended to. All these things in between wee-wees. (Must mention this to the nurses today).

Took the letter from the insurance company and some more cleaned empty jars with me and set off out. Only one lift is working today. Huh!

Got out in the sunshine and hobbled to the recycling bin, then to the Tenants Social Hut. Only Obergruppenfureress Julie in today and she was helping another tenant out, so I waited. When she was free, I showed her the letter and pointed out that it had expired on the 15th June and how concerned I was. She looked at and read pages in the message, gave me a fully warranted “What a pratt!” and shouted, “It expires on the 15th July you idiot, not June!” I adopted my best-humbled look and apologised to her. I felt a right dumbo! She told me to see her next week.

Red facedly, I gave her some nibbles and withdrew, walking back to the flats and going up for a wee-wee and gathered the hearing aids I’d forgotten to wear earlier, then back down to the bus stop.

Joined in a good chinwag with some other tenants waiting. They all got on the Bestwood bound L9, apart from one lady. We got onto the City bound bus a few minute later.

Dropped off on Upper Parliament Street and made my way onto Milton Street and caught the 36 bus to the Queens Medical Centre.

5Fri05Entered the site passing the coughing smokers outside on the way.

Two of the four lifts were out of order, so I foolishly took the stairs up to D floor again like the other day – with the same results of aching feet, knees and struggling for breath thanks to Anne Gyna’s visitation.

Goggleplonk!

5Fri09As I approached the entrance to the department, I noticed this sign on the left here on the wall.

Infant Feeding Cafe – this way.

I couldn’t help wondering if they serve the ankle snappers fried, baked, roasted or casseroled? Haha!

To the nurses on the reception desk and was greeted immediately with: “You should not be coming here at all, you should be visiting you doctors surgery for these tests!”

I was taken aback a bit by this. I told the lady that I had a phone call last night from a woman here, and said to come in this morning! This made no impression on the woman at all. She just ignored me by pretending either not to hear me, then started looking in some box files. But credit where it is due, she did it nonchalantly and with style. I went to scrub my hands, and as I returned to take a seat, she extended her muscular right arm and pointed to the seats while nodding her head forward; as if this was a command or an order for me to ‘Sit!” Hehe!

A lady came out an hour or so later and spoke to the assembled patients, but I could not make out what she was saying, so I asked the lady next to me. She had addressed us saying it might be a long wait today, as they only had two people on instead of the usual four.

I was summoned next, an hour later. The chap who saw me apologised for the wait was the first thing the man said to me. I replied; No problem, it’s getting told off for coming that I didn’t like! Brave eh? I explained how I get sometimes confused, especially with all the appointments, Emails, the Clinic, the Doctors surgery, District Nurse injections twice daily… He looked on the computer at my page The red line yesterday had turned into two red lines today? And told me I was dead right. Luckily the lady who rang me recorded what happened on the page. But even he was too fretful to go as far as mentioning anything to the Gruppenfurheress on the reception, and I didn’t blame him either. Oh no!

He took the blood and tested it for the INR Warfarin level, then went to collect the result from the machine in another room and returned. I tried to see what the second red line covered on the computer, but no luck. He advised me that the INR level was still far too small and I would have to continue with the injections from the District nurses. It was at 1.9 now. He injected some into the stomach and gave me six Enoxaparin kits to give to the District Nurse tonight, these would last until the Monday morning stabbing, then I am to return to there again (The DVT Anticoagulation) after the Monday injection from the District Nurse, for more tests.

I still left some nibbles for the staff, though.

Caught a 53 Arnold bus from just outside the premises, and fell asleep on the bus! When I woke, I wondered where the heck I was? Hehe!

Arrived in Arnold and went into the Sainsbury store to see if they had any pod peas in stock. But no, they had not, the naughty store! However, I did spend £31.05… Oh dearie me! Cheap DVD’s, Marmite flatbread, Sheldon’s potato cakes, Rankin Irish potato farls, Smoked cured streaky bacon, Marmite Rice Cakes, Cheddar Wafers (For Sister Jane, but don’t tell her will you?), Beef meteors, Wholemeal flatbread and mini packs of mini cocktail sausages. Oh, and another giant sized potato. A big one too, it would not fit in the saucepan! Haha!

Tsk! I can’t take myself anywhere!)

Out of the store and noticed the mechanical whatever it is on the roof of the British Telecom building across the road had changed shape. Lots of bit missing from how it was last week?

Had a bit of a Dennis Dizzy spell at the bus stop.

I do appreciate my free pensioner’s bus pass. I reckon I’ve saved £8 in bus fares today.

Some other tenants got on the bus en route. Bill and Janet.Back at the flats

Back at the apartments, I caught up with Janet to tell her I would take some DVDs to her flat so she can look at them at her leisure. She was sweating a bit, and she said had not been feeling too good. Janet alighted on the 7th floor, I on the 12th and Mick carried on up to the 14th.

In the flat and I had a wee-wee, a long, painful wee-wee! Got the things put away and collected the carrier bag of DVDs and took them to Mary’s flat. Tried to console the girl a bit, but she apparently needed to get her head down and rest. I gave her my number, telling her I would be in now all night and not worry about calling if she felt ill. Poor thing did look like she was suffering too. I’ll call on her in the morning.

Back to the mini-flat and pondered on when or if the District Nurses would call me. They said they would call before coming to make sure they were still needed to hypodermically prod-me. (Laugh, go on, laugh! Hehe!)

I decided to get rid of the new phone and replace it with the old one. I know I can walk around with the new one in my hand, but this advantage is negated by the old one’s big letters, better sound and a red light that flashed when a call comes in so can see it when I have the headphones on. It has a louder ring too. I’ll give this new one away if I find someone in need.

When I got back to the flat, knowing that the Obergruppefurheresses had gone home for the weekend, I called the NCH alarm line, and mentioned about Mary not feeling well, and if they get an alert call from her, would they please respond immediately. I thought they might be annoyed with me bothering them, but the lady thanked me and said she would let Obergruppenfurher Dean and Gruppenfurher Julie know about Mary’s condition. That cheered me up a bit. I did a battery check with them at the same time. Afterwards, I remembered I’d done one yesterday. Tsk!

Onto the computer to update this diary. The Grammarly programme is playing up again and causing much delay and frustrations. Grr!

Updated the calendar with the new appointments.

Went into the kitchen to make a mug of tea and get the Health Checks carried out.

I seem to be fauchling everything I try to do today. Tsk!

The check figures were so good, I had to take a photograph of the machine’s results to show here.

Brilliant what? The pulse down to 76 was very encouraging. The temperature was 35° dead on.

Shame I was depressed at having to wait for the District Nurses to call me, and I assume it will be around eleven by the time they come, so as to match the 12-hour gap between treatment? Hey-ho!

1830hrs: The Nursing people rang asking what the situation was. I explained the doctor gave me six syringes for them to use until Monday morning, when I have to go to the QMC, hopefully catching the 0930hrs bus. She told me to speak with the nurses about this when they arrive later tonight, she had no idea what time this would me though. Oh dearie me!

Being as had to stay awake, I went on WordPress reading and then, Facebook to keep me from nodding off. Tut!

Tim Price wrote a song in his comment for my Thursday post: I reckon it is brilliant! He tells me: Tell folks to sing it to the tune of the Beatle’s “A Day in a Life.”

“I was in great pain, and yet high spirits?” is a perfect intro line for a song I’m calling “A Day in the Life of Inchy”.

“I was in great pain, and yet high spirits today oh boy
A lucky man standing by the Methodist Church
Thinking I should be rather sad
I just had to laugh

And took a photograph
Out the kitchen window, mind your houses and cars
Off to Sherringham for shots, so quick, but no times had changed
Nicole, the nurse, stood and stared
Trying to stop my blood that flowed
She wasn’t really sure
We just talked until it stopped. Oh lord

I had a Whoopsiedangleplop today oh boy
The phone went off a dingling and a dangling
T’was the nurse bitching about my ambling
“You’re not in your Flat?” I turned away
But I just had to look, I didn’t have the book
I’d love to turn you off

Got back, and had a Weeee!
Refreshing and accident-Free!
I went back out and had a cup
The doorbell rang, and I noticed it was late
The next nurse was at 2020
Found her extra cuddly, a twinkle in her eye
She had a firm, tight end that was smokin’ hot
Then she poked me in the tummy, and I came out of my dream… Tsk!”

I think that sums a day in Inchies life fairly well.

Went to put the large potato in the oven to cook, cause I believe that it might take about three hours? Then I have to burn my fingers cutting in in half and scraping out the flesh, bashing in with some cheese and putting the mix back in the husks.

Guess what I found… Isn’t life hard? Hehe!
I’d left the potato
farls in the tray from last night – they rather overcooked.

Got onto Facebook eventually.

Tried to do some TFZ graphicalisations.

Managed two of them, so tired now

Rather pleased with how they came out, though.

Then the door chime rang out. IT was the nurse.

Then the difficulties came to the fore.

Written on the boxes of the ready-loaded hypodermics the doctor gave me to hand to the nurses: It was written for only one a day and not two!

Betty rang her control, and after much discussion, she recorded that I was happy for her to give me second one today, and did so.

Off she almost ran, well she did run as she departed.

I checked the potato in the oven, and my finger went through the skin. Tsk, Accifauxpa time again!

Updated this diary to here, and got the nosh sorted.

All the effort to make the cheesy potatoes and the burning of the finger was well worth it for once. Very tasty! 9.3/10 rating.

I thought I could manage two desserts today, but had to do with one, after I spotted the other one was out of its sell-by date! Huh!

Sat down, put the TV on and drifted off into a deep sleep.

Inchcock Today – Thur 15th 2017: Hospital again for INR test and injections. Well, it gives me someone to talk to!

Thursday 15th June 2017

Xhosa (Bantu ethnic group of Southern Africa mainly found in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, and in the last two centuries throughout the southern and central-southern parts):

NgoLwesine 15 Juni 2017

0430hrs: Up and out of the £300 second-hand recliner in minutes, on the way to the Porcelain Throne. Bloody and a slightly painful session. Duodenal Donald flowed freely, Anne Gyna was giving me warning signs and the tummy was twinging in places it had never twinged before. Dizzy Dennis put in an appearance too! Tsk! Worra start!

The view from the kitchen reminded me of the horrible fire in London for some reason or other?

Got the paperwork for the QMC visit later, must not miss the 0930hrs bus into town. I want to drop off some nibbles and raffle prizes at the Winwood Community Shed for the Tenants Social Hour, as once again, medicationalistical appointments prevent me from attending! Humph!

Off for a wee-wee. Then I got the Health Checks done and took the medications. Looked okay to me: Sys 163, Dia 69, Pulse 80, Temp’ 34.9 and Weight 14.7

Another wee-wee.

Computer activated, and diaries worked on. Oh, dear! Email from the surgery, telling me they have made an appointment for today at 0830hrs for an INR test, a new prescription is ready to collect from the chemists, and I have to make an appointment today to see my doctor and a ‘Specialist’. Mmm?

So, a change of plans needed, what do I do about the QMC? I’ll ask at the surgery.

Had to close everything down to get ready and off to the surgery in time – Tsk! A rushed ablutioning session and dressed up all nice and fresh. Forgot all about the tummy pains as I hurried around in a panic getting things sorted; Swapped the nibbles for the nurse’s nibbles. Changed the paperwork and set off to the lift, where I had to return to check the flat to see if I’d left anything turned on or off that shouldn’t be. Tut!

Met Frank and his much better half (14th-floor tenants) outside, as she was being lifted for a day out by here daughter. Wish her all the best, and after she’s gone, I ask… Roy, 4Thur04that’s his name, not Frank (Grump, what a clot I am), if he would tell the others about my not getting to the Social Hour again and why! With a cheeky smile, he said he’d think about it. Hehe!

Along Chestnut Walk and to the glass recycling bin dropped of some jars.

Gorgeous weather, not too warm and no winds or signs of rain.

4Thur05Turned right at the end of the Walk and down onto Winchester Street Hill.

The greenery was heartwarming as I saw the new growths battling though.

Down to the end and onto Mansfield Road and up and over the hill, down into Carrington and the first call of the day, at the Sherringham Surgery and the nurse Carena… I think that is 4Thur06her name. (Not that it matters cause she is sweet, kind, cuddly and beautiful) for the INR blood test.

The weather continued to be fine and almost cheer making with the lack of wind.

Just over the hill, a much dreaded and feared Nottingham Pavement Cyclist came passed me and was within inches of hitting me!

By the time I got the camera out, he had disappeared from view altogether? He was moving at a high rate of knots, bless his cotton socks.

Got to the Sherringham Surgery in plenty of time, booked in and took a seat, 20 minutes before the appointment time – and was called in by the nurse (Come to think of it now as I type this, I think her name is Nicole) in about three minutes. It has its advantages being on the At Risk Register and on Red Watch, or is that Red Alert? Whatever, I’ve certainly being seen as a priority these last few days. That red bar across my page on their computer screen is working wonders. Haha!

4Thur11She soon took the blood, again it took ages for the vein to stop bleeding, but that was good, it gave me time to have an ogle and gossip with the nurse!

She made a good job of covering it afterwards. Gave her some nibbles, thanked her for the help and dropped some nibbles off for the reception staff as I limped out of the surgery. (The feet were really singing now, after all the hobbling in the last three day, to and from hospital DVT and Anticoagulation and the surgery)

I limped down into Carrington and the Chemist to collect the mystery prescription that I knew nowt about. It turned out to be some new Warfarin tablets, so that was good.

Out and meandered up and into the Lidl store. Where I invested in some nibble bars to hand out in thanks, a large baking potato, mini Weiner sausages, tomatoes and a bar of almond nut brittle as a treat for myself. Even bravely used the self-serve counter again.

Out and to the bus stop, thinking how much I appreciated the free bus pass as I waited for the arrival of one to take me back into Sherwood, as the tootsies were worse than ever now… Whoopsiedangleplop time again! It dawned on me that it was far too early for me to utilise the pass! So I set off on a limp back along Mansfield Road with its hill, into Sherwood. Humph!

4Thur08By the time I got to the Methodist Church about half way to Sherwood, I was in great pain, and yet high spirits?

Unaccountably content, I was. Good thoughts were permeating through my mind.

I pressed on eventually arriving in Sherwood proper and the shops.

4Thur09I called into the Children’s Charity Shop for a peruse around, but nothing purchased.

Out and on my way to visit Wilko and then the Nottingham Hospice Shop and the phone burst into life.

It was the District Nurse wanting to know why I was not in the flat. Oh dearie me!

I tried to apologise and explain the problems I’m having with me receiving instruction for the Queens Medical DVT, the Anticoagulation there, the surgery and the District nurses. Which didn’t all agree or marry with each other… A long silence, a noisy Tut, and she told me “I’ll have to call on some else who is in and return to you if I get the time later” The phone went dead. I think I’m in trouble with her now. And she is about to give me injections in the stomach too! Huh!

My previous unexpected short-lived air of confidence, nay, almost contentment and hope dissolved into the ether, to be supplanted with anxiety, worry and apprehension with a twinge of trepidation. Yes, I was depressed again now. Grumph!

Morosely I called into the Wilko store but bought nothing. Then up the hill to the Nottingham Hospice Shop and got a little mug.

To the bus stop and checked the bus times, the next one not being for 40 minutes, I carried on up over the hill and down the  Woodthorpe Grange Park gates and up the footpath hill.

En route I found some pleasure and almost enjoyed it when I took these photographs while standing under the Chestnut Trees near the walkway.

4Thur10

To the top of the hill and down to the entrance to the flats.

Got in just in time for an accident-free wee-wee! Haha!

Put the bits bought away, and tablets into the drawer then got podding some garden peas to cook later, and the District Nurse (A different one again) arrived. I actually should have died on the spot, with her obviously well-honed and perfected look of… what’s the word, er… erm…  detestation, or maybe odium would best describe it, should have melted me on the spot. It deserved it, especially as she adopted a smile at the same time. I couldn’t help but think she could replace Teresa May without any problem. She was not happy but did seem to cheer up a bit as a semi-curl came on her lips as dug the hypodermic into my well endowed flobby belly. Hahaha! I’m exaggerating for fun of course. Am I? Hehe!

I thanked her, Dare I not, do so?

She said someone would come in the morning around 1000hrs as she did not know if I was to have any more Enoxaparin injections or not but would find out. Oh dear! I was not brave enough to ask her if anyone was going to call tonight to ‘Do-me’.

05Thu12The day suddenly went a bit dark?

I wondered if this was an omen of some sort?

I got onto the computer and updated this diary to here.

Had a wee-wee.

Another long day then, without much sleep. And, no watching the TV for fear of not hearing the District Nurse if she does arrive, and will it be 2200hrs again. Oh dearie me.

05Thu12aMade another cuppa in the new mug. Had a wee-wee.

Rang Sister Janet to see how she is.

She had problems of her own but lovingly seemed more interested in mine.

Checked the Emails, and had got some in support from the TFZer gals. Nice that!

Then tried to catch-up with the WordPress reading.

There is a lot of it to catch up on after having to rush out this morning.

Had a wee-wee.

Had a call from the QMC Anticoagulation Floor D. The lady was hard to hear, but I’m sure that we agreed that the Enoxaparin Injections must continue, although the INR level had risen a bit. I have to go into the QMC for tests in the morning. Busy lad ain’t I! Hehe!

I will send an Email now to the surgery, so they know.

Had a wee-wee.

Put the news on and listened through the headphone. So many people still missing from the horrendous fire in London. Feeling a bit down again now. The flats are still burning!!! The officials are assuring us that the residents will be rehoused locally if that is what they want.

Sent the Email to the surgery.

Did some Facebook catch up, at last?

05Thu12cGot the meal prepared and took the medications, did the Health Checks.

Sudden flatulence, danger recognised, got to the Porcelain Throne; only just in time.

Haemorrhoid Harold was bleeding badly. Cleaned me and every else up, and returned to the dying room… Sorry, living room. (Understandable mistake how I’m feeling. Hehehe!) Luckily there was nothing on the plate to get cold, an hour later, when I got around to eating it, any appetite I had left, had vanished. I threw most it away.

Missed a call on the phone, fumbled with it and got to a message that had been left. T’was a nurse asking me to confirm whether or not I’d had an Enoxaparin injection this afternoon and rang her back on a number. I rang back, but got a message about Not being available on this figure?

Duodenal Donald kept my attentions for a while. Then the phone rang again. The nurse with a few questions for me. Said she would arrive at 2000hrs to stick me with the hypo. I thanked her and had a sit-down, as it had been a horrendously long day, no sleep and full of ups and downs.

5Fri032020hrs: The District Nurse, who had been before (The extra cuddly one with the twinkle in her eyes and firm appealing rear end) arrived. Set about looking at the record of injections, she made a call to someone. Then explained she has to go nd return later at 2200hrs because it is too early and dangerous to give one yet. I had a feeling that somehow this was my fault because I got confused with the timing?

Feeling very drained now, I put the TV on with subtitles and watched the news until the nurse returned at 2220hrs to give me the treatment.

Thanked and confirmed that no treatment was needed for the morning and they will know the results from the DVT clinic at the QMC and whether I’ll need them to carry on with the Enoxaparin injections tomorrow night. We’ll see.

A long frustrating wearing day and I ain’t well. Humph! Hehe!

Inchcock – Monday 12th June 2017: Hospital DVT test, Doctors INR Blood Test, Warfarin Panic… Now I have to do it all again… Tsk! You’ve got to laugh!

1Mon19

Monday 12th June 2017

 מאנטאג יוני 12, 2 Yiddish

0415hrs: I woke up in a confused state, a cracking headache. Rubbish, crumbs, wrappers, pen & pad, mobile phone, remote controls, the empty biscuit box, a woolly hat, TV magazine, the Clarkson On Cars book and last night untaken evening medication pot around the floor (Humph!), the £300 second-hand recliner and me! Felt confused, tired and listless. The eyelids felt so heavy as well.

The notepad I keep handy to forget to take notes of any dreams on had some scribble on it, but it might have been hieroglyphics because I could decipher nothing of it. Tsk!

Pondered on what the day boded. Must remember the INR blood test at 1007hrs (What an odd time to give me?). I’d like to get a good walk into town done, take some photographs perhaps.

Off to the Porcelain Throne, only the slightest amount of bleeding from Haemorrhoid Harold, feeling light-headed? Dizzy Dennis and Roger Reflux both started off at the same time. At least Anne Gyna and Arthur Itis were being gentle with me.

Made a brew and it tasted horrible – now I know something is wrong with me. Haha!

Did the Health Checks. Then printed off last weeks to take to the nurse later.

1Mon02

Took the morning medications and back in the wetroom for a wee-wee again.

Computer started and finished off and posted the Sunday diary and started this one off.

Put the nibbles in the bag for the nurses and the Anticoagulation Record Card too.

Checked the Emails and did some WordPressing for a few hours.

Got the ablutions done. An extra long session this morning. Cleaning the teggies and caused a bit of bleeding, but pleased with how quickly it stopped considering.

Got three bin bags filled and tied, one of recyclable stuff and took them to the refuse chute. Put four jars and one bottle in the bag to drop off at the recycling bin on Chestnut Walk.

Back to the flat and checked I had everything needed in the bag. Corroborated that the lights, heaters, cooker, taps and windows were okay and that I had the bus-pass, camera and mobile phone. Set off to the surgery.

Not a soul in sight on the way down to and in the foyer. Some workmen were hard at it outside as I walked straight passed the recycling bins (Tsk!) to the end of Chestnut Walk.

Spotted these beautiful bush flowers on the side of the road. This, cheered me up a lot, with the getting out for a hobble as well.

1Mon03

1Mon11Down Winchester Street Hill in the sunshine and got the camera out of the bag and into my pocket so I could take photographs of the abandoned retail units from Winchester Street to the library.

Not a long distance as you can see from the map here!

So sad, all those folks gone bankrupt, broke or forced to sell-up.

Here are the actual photographicalisations that I took of the rather sad looking so-called retail shopping area of Sherwood, over a five-minute hobble along Mansfield Road.

1Mon04

Oh, dear, I’ve made a Whoopsiedangleplop here, sorry. The bottom left one I took from the bus on the way back from Arnold. Fancy me, making a mistake… Ahem!

Pressed on up the hill and down to the surgery in Carrington. Arriving with 30 minutes to spare the lady told me as I logged in with the receptionist. Sat down, about to get the crossword book out and got called in to see the nurse! No messing about this morning!

She got the blood taken straight away and reminded me about the DVT appointment I had for two hours later. Kind of her, that was. Chinwagged while she did me. Gave her some nibbles, thanked her and departed and limped down to the chemists to ask for advice on my medications, feeling rather proud of remembering to do this. He was not in. Humph!

So, out, down the road and waited for City Hospital bus. I said earlier, no messing about today, didn’t I? Well, it proved this point again when I arrived at the DVT department. As I was there an hour earlier than the appointment time, and they had me in the treatment room within five minutes of my signing in!

Not the foggiest idea what they did. As the Nurse who spoke to me, had an accent and quiet voice and I could not read her lips. Two people came into the cubicle, one smiled and stuck a needle in my throat and arm. That was it I was gone in seconds into a semi-sleepy state. No hassle no pain, just felt them bringing me round later and putting me on a trolly for a few minute and giving me a cup of tea. All done! The chest and throat area was only a bit sore, and that cleared up with ten minutes.

The doctor arrived and told me the test looked visually alright to him, things were no different or worse than last time, and they would contact me after the analysis was complete. I felt great and asked a nurse if I could go now. “If you’re sure you feel up to it, why not Mr Chambers” In a lovely rich Irish accent. So off I wented! Hehe!

Out and up the hill, across the road to the bus stop, the bus arrived in seconds, and within half-an-hour, I was catching a 58 bus in town and on my way to Arnold.

I’ve said it before, but; ‘No Messing About Today!’

Dropped off near the Asda store and popped in get some Irish Batch bread, and came out with the aforesaid loaf… plus: New potatoes, fresh pod peas, mini pickle pork pies, flatbread, Walkers Marmite crisps (three packs of six little packets for £3 – Tsk!), Raffle prizes for the tenants hour, lemon and orange yoghourts, Irish potato farls, butter and £17 quid lighter! Plonker! Then hobbled, (the feet were bad now) in to visit the clothing department to see if they had any of the loose fitting undies in stock. Could not find any and asked an assistant, who informed me they no longer sell them. Marvellous, I thought!

1Mon06On my way out, I noticed they had ladies bras on sale for two whole aisles!

Even a choice of over fifty different types of, what they labelled ‘T-Shirt Bras” with about 100 of them on the shelves!

Not fair that!

Sexism it is! Hehehe!

Had a hobble over the road to the Fulton Food Store to see if they had any of those lemon curd cones in again. But no. I did get some citrus lollies, though.

1Mon07

Paid the Oberfruppenfurher on the till and out and made my way to the bus stop on High Street behind the no long longer stocking men’s undies – but selling hundred of ladies bras and panties – Asda (Walmart) Hyperstore. Hahaha!

At the bus stop, I spotted this amazing little wildflower forcing its way through the tarmac somehow into life? How do they do this?

Got the bus back eventually, taking the photo mentioned earlier en route.

1Mon08As we went through Sherwood on Mansfield Road, I took a picture of possibly the best smelling of all the shops.

Back at the flats and had a wee-wee. Put the kettle on and took the midday medications and did the Health Checks.

All right methinks.

1Mon10Put the purchases on the counter and then stored them away.

After pondering on what to have for fodder later, it will have to be a late one, because I had to sort out the pictures from the camera and update this diary first.

I decided on the last two small portions minced lamb stew with some of the Irish batch bread! Podded a few peas and got them on the boil, well, simmering.

Tried to catch up with the Facebooking while the lamb hotpot cooked. Didn’t get much done, Huh!

1Mon12The din-din time now.

Gorgeous!

Washed the pots.

Feeling a bit drained now, so settled down to watch some Law & Order on the Gogglebox, feet up.

Haha!

Really into the TV and the landline chirped into life.

Stubbed my toe getting out of the £300 second-hand recliner as quickly as I could to get to the phone.

It was the DVT Centre from the 4th floor at the QMC.

1Mon16

It appears that my Warfarin INR blood level is now below 1.4 – What? So that is Monday 6.1 Wednesday 4.2 Friday 4.1 and now Monday 1.4?

I have to go into the QMC Hospital in the morning for Two Enoxaparin injections and another blood test, and have to arrange for another DVT Test as today’s earlier checks would be unreliable due the INR level being so high. (Apparently, the district nurse visits to homes to give injections has been cut back as part of the cost saving exercises).

I have to take 4 Warfarin tonight. So, at least there is far less chance of me bleeding to death, but a real possibility of a blood clot or Heart Attack. I can’t win can I? Hehe!

So I took the evening medications making sure I had the four tablets. Did the Health Checks.

1Mon17a

Got the Computer on to update this and put things into the calendar. Printed a reminder and left it on the TV screen for the morning.

Got my head down ag1Mon18ain, and watched some TV proggies, without any nodding off for ages?

No dizzies tonight.

Up to visit the Porcelain Throne, all good. Even Haemorrhoid Harold wasn’t bleeding at all, in the slightest, whatsoever.

The first time for weeks!

Long time getting off again.

TTFN each.

Saturday 10th June 2017 – Had an intended idle day. So there! Hehe!

5Fri12n

Saturday 10th June 2017

Latvian: 2017 Sestdiena 10 jūnijs

0330hrs: Stirred, lay there doing my best to recall details of the dream I’d been having; something about me being chased in a skyscraper full of office corridors? Haven’t had one like this for ages, but, any real memories were too vague.

Fell off to sleep again (another uniqueness for me, nodding off again).

0530hrs: Came back to life, of sorts with a jolt. Found rubbish all around the £300 second-hand recliner again. I’d been nibbling, that was obvious by the crumbs and wrappers generously scattered around on the carpet, the chair and me. I can’t remember eating at all, let alone fetching the biscuits to eat?

Off for a wee-wee and heavy duty session. Little Inchy was raw and sore, but no bleeding again. Haemorrhoid Harold only bled the tiniest bit. I could tell Duodenal Donald was building up for an attack. However, Reflux Roger, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna were in a good mood – and, no signs of Constipation Konrad either. So no complaints there.

To the kitchen, where I rinsed out the mucked-up oven mitt things from the bowl where I’d left them to soak. Drying them was a problem, how to? I put the clothes airer on and balanced them on top.

Did the health Checks: Sys 145, Dia 79, Pulse 88, Temp 35.6 and the weight was 14.8lb

Mephitic emissions of the wind from the rear arrived unexpectedly. The aroma seemed to linger all day. Tsk!

Computer activated. Checked on which programme if any the Scotland v England match would be on. I was delighted when I found out it was on ITV tonight. A  hard game for me in some ways to watch. I have a great liking for the Welsh and Scottish teams. The likes of Andy Lochhead (My favourite, a great old fashioned centre forward), such a shame he was not selected for the Scottish Squad, he did get just one under-23 match in.

6Sat14

But his going South of the Border made him a de trop to the selectors, I’m much afraid.

Ian Ure and Dennis Law were both great defenders, too. Jim Baxter was fantastic in his hey-day. So, I’ll be unhappy whichever way the match goes… unless it is a draw? Haha!
Others that come immediately to mind: Welsh: Terry Hennessey, Ronnie Rees, Dean Saunders. Scottish: Kenny Burns, Peter Cormack, Archie Gemmill, Frank Gray, John Robertson, Kenny Dalglish, Tommy Dockerty, etc. Ah, good times!

6Sat15Nipped into the kitchen to pod the peas and get them cooking in the Crock-Pot. I also put some Jersey potatoes in the saucepan to boil.

Hence the advice on the left here.

Another wee-wee and back on the computer.

Updated this diary. Then caught up with WordPress reading.

Checked on the cooking and saw that I had not turned on the power to the cooker. Ah-well, done now!

Onto Facebooking then. Spent hours on it enjoying myself.

Went to check on the fodder’s progress.

You recall how I forgot to turn on the power to the cooker earlier to do the spuds? Well, I didn’t turn on the oven when I put the lamb nosh into it either! Gerrin’ fed up with missen today!

6Sat17Cooking now, though.

Scoffed the lot of it, a yoghourt, some bisuits and some nougat too!

Back onto CorelDraw 2017, but coud not concentrate very well. Perhaps the expectations of the upcoming Interernational twixt Scotland and England later?

Nodded off and dreamt of Sister Jane and me living together with our beloved Auntie Kath, I was the butler and we were all so happy doing things we never did before together.

Woke, took the medications, did the Health Checks and visited the Porcelain Throne and settled to watch the match on the gogglebox. The abutions can wait now, ’cause the match is due to start.

6Sat18

The match itself was wonderful to watch, with the most exciting last twenty minutes I’ve watched of a match since the 1966 World Cup Final.

But the aftermath saddened me so.

6Sat19

It happens that the authorities had sent some Metropolitan Police officers to Glasgow in case of terrorist activity, so it seems, up to now to me, that they coped with the vandals and yobboes reasonably well. Took the edge off of my enjoyment, to think about this return of mindless hooliganism and hatred.

6Sat21

The so called fans were even rioting when on holiday in Magaluf!

Did the ablutions with mixed emotions, happiness at seeing a great match and agreeing with the score for once, loathing and not understanding of the rioters, satisfaction at the good tasty meal… cut myself shaving due to lack of attention. It took a lot of stopping, had to resort to the aftershave, need a new bottle now. Hehe!

Shaved, teggies done, ear-holes cleared, Little Inchy medicated and showered, I got the nightweat on. (Well, it was nippy tonight).

7Sat24Head down in the £300 second-hand recliner. (It’s lasting well for a cheapo bargain is this chair) But, I could not get to sleep thinking alternatively about the great match, the fighting hooligans and the newly attacking Duodenal Donald. I don’t know if it is the fodder or the vandals that started him off, but by gum, he’s back with a vengeance. Took an extra 40mg Omeprazole.

I’ve been on this medication along with so many others for about 13 years now, looked it up to see if any alternative is available on the NHS. Got side tracked with this page on the left here: Methinks I might have a word with the pharmacist or doctor on my next visit.

I Googled for any Omeprazole alternatives. It seems that almonds and almond milk after eating has helped some people get off of this drug. Thaty should it says, only be taken for short periods; And my doctor has had me on it for 13 years plus?

Another suggestion was deglycyrrhizinated licorice, DGL? Never heard of it, but this is more for Roger Reflux than the ulcer. Then they suggest Apple Cider Vinegar, but it must be organic. Each time I ask about Omeprazole, it relates again to the reflux valve and not the duodenal ulcer, so I put in the search; Duodenal Ulcer Medications UK. Andthere it was, but only as an antacid. Confused now. Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Thursday 8th June 2017: Chinwags, blood tests, Constipation Konrad retreats, election time, bought unwanted fodder and eating rather a lot today?

4Thur01

Thursday 8th June 2017

Kazakh: Бейсенбі 8 маусым 2017

0400hrs: Woke, no memories of any dreams, the stomach rumbled, and I got put off the £300 second-hand recliner with high hope of achieving a passing on the Porcelain Throne, so off I hobbled to it, taking care not to stub the toe en route, or on the way back.

Still a painful, but successful visit, if another rather long one in urging things to happen.  Haemorrhoid Harold bled a lot less than of late. Cleansed and medicated me up. Hehe!

Duodenal Donald was letting me know he’d be about hassling me today.

Took the medications and carried out the Health Checks. The weight had gone down a bit, not before time.

Made a brew of tea, and looked at the Google Calendar. Morrison delivery is coming twixt 0700>0800hrs, Vote in Elections and Extra INR blood test at the surgery 0950hrs.

I mused over the Voting and considered which of the unreliable lying nihilists to vote for this time… not that I really had to ponder over my choice. Just a hatred of having choices of which none met my criteria of being votable… Huh! Working family roots will prevail methinks.

Got the ablutions done.

Got the nibbles in the bag for the electoral staff and nurses.

Shelled the pod peas and into the Crock-Pot in water and a bit of demerara sugar.

Opened the Emails and did some WordPress reading.

4Thur02All ready for the Morrison delivery to arrive.

The rain seemed to be easing when I made another mug of tea.

Made sure that the things needed were in the bag: nibbles, brolly, hat, collapsable walking stick, DVT Card and Health Check Record for the nurse and the crossword book.

Got the last bag of the Purple Chips that I bought for Jenny and Frank to try, then rang Jenny to see if she would be in this morning. She said she would, so I went up to the fifteenth floor with the chips and a free small can of lager delivered by Morrison, but I did not recognise the outside of the flat?

Came down to my own pad to see if I could find the number of Jenny’s and Franks flat on some paperwork (Also put in the hearing aids I’d forgotten to earlier). Picked up the bag and Voting Card and nibbles. Then I set off to check each floor. On the ninth floor, a chap got into the lift and pressed for the ground floor. I asked him if he knew which was Jenny’s flat and he lived next door to them on the ninth floor.

Back up to the ninth and dropped off the things at the proper unit. I did feel such a fool! Tsk!

When I got down to the foyer, and outside, the rain had stopped altogether. Walked to the Voting Shed, and found different people there today and they had laid things out differently: Without thinking, I said to them as I entered: “Oy! You’ve changed things around this time! I’m not having this; we aged old farts can get confused, muddled and addled very quickly, you know! They burst out laughing and smiles appeared on their faces. Gave them my election card and one of them said: “There you are, five booths to pick from, all free, Make your choice Sir!” I rubbed my chin exaggeratedly and put on a frown saying: “Er, erm…” More laughter rang out. I voted and posted the sheet in the box and gave them a bag of nibbles!

4Thur03Said my cheery cheerio’s and out and off down Chestnut Walk onto and down Winchester Street Hill.

The high winds had caused more havoc nd damage again last night. Debris scattered all over the roadway.

Down to the bottom of the hill and noticed as I approached the traffic light corner to turn left, 4Thur04that I had not taken the bank papers with me.

So I didn’t call at the bank. Humph!

I still had plenty of time to hobble up Mansfield Road and down into Carrington with time to spare.

So I had a leisurely amble.

4Thur05

At the corner of Haydn Road, I espied some traffic and altercation that was taking place near the school gates.

Probably just busy.

I pressed on up the hill, and by the time I’d covered about 300 yards or so, six police vehicles with klaxons and the blues on passed on the journey toward the City Centre?

4Thur06Just over the brow of the hill, a Nottingham Pavement Cyclist nearly had me over. Tsk!

A few hundred yards further down the hill and in Carrington; So many police cars belted by I could not count them!

I did manage to get the camera out and caught the blue lights of the last one on the convoy

4Thur07as they had to use the opposite side of the road to get through the traffic.

Got into the surgery with 20 minutes to spare. Logged in and got seated with the crossword book extracted from the bag and pen in hand.

After only five minutes the nurse came and called it to go in.

It was not the usual nurse this time, but the Obergrupenfurheress one. SFA Time! Shudder, Fear & Apprehension! Hehe!

She took the blood, I gave her the nibbles and returned to the receptionist. I explained that the Anticoagulation card I am supposed to carry with all the time is getting a little tatty and the lettering is coming off of it. Could you advise me where to get another one from, please? “The Queens Medical Anticoagulation and Deep Vein Thrombosis Clinic on the fourth floor” she informed me. Thanked her, departed and limped to the Lidl Store to have a perusal of what they had on offer.

I got little carried away in there, I’m afraid. Got three raffle prize nibbles, Nougat sweeties, piccolo tomatoes, Lemon Curd Yoghourts, Frikadellens, Choc Hobnob Creams and a lamb hotpot. £11.47 spent. Boldy (And as it turned out foolishly) I tried to use the self-serve till again, being as I had no end of lose change. Got the stuff swiped in alright, but when it came to paying, it took the £10 note but kept spewing out the change I put in! Sometimes holding a coin and the total to pay kept changing! After trying about eight times, I had to ask an assistant or help. When I told her what was occurring, the look on her face shouted out at me: “Oh, Christ, not again!”

We tried again between us, several times and in the end, she got it to accept the coins after I had to change the ones I was putting in!

Out, in a foul mood and caught the bus back into Sherwood. Still, the rain kept off!

Dropped off in Sherwood and got a second-hand cup from the Charity shop.

Then and crossed over the pelican lights and to the bus stop. Three other tenants there waiting, and a good laugh and chinwag ensued. Two more joined us. The bus came, and we were soon back at the flats battling the wind to get inside them. Haha!

Squashed into the lift and we were still laughing and joking, I like it when this happens.

In number 72 and had a wee-wee first. Ten put the fodder away after selecting the lamb hotpot and some potato balls and putting them into an oven tray to cook later. The Crock-Pot was bubbling away with the Jersey potatoes, pod peas and4Thur08 mushrooms.

The computer on to update this diary up to here.

Used the new cup and made a gorgeous, strong cup/mug of tea, using the last of the 99 tea bags.

Must get some more tomorrow!

Checked the nosh, not ready yet.

4Thur09Looked later and it seemed to be ready, got the oven food into the dish, made and added some gravy, then the mushroom, peas and potatoes.

Superb tasting fodder this was. Rated at 9/10. Minced lamb hotpot with extra potatoes of two types. Sourdough bread and a lemon yoghourt.

Watched some TV and the phone rang before I could fall asleep (Hehe!) but I could not get to it in time before the damned thing went to answerphone. Struggled to find out how to listen to it. Eventually getting into it, and putting the hearing aids in and the message I heard was; “Nothing to be heard!”? Methinks it night have been the surgery, DVT clinic or the Anticoagulation Unit about the INR Warfarin blood test results?

Took the evening medications, unsure of what Warfarin tablets to take, not knowing the results like, I took half the dose, no idea if I’ve done right or wrong.

4Thur10Watched some telly in between nod-offs. Woke with a start and a raging hunger?

Which I found confusing bearing in mind the decent sized meal I’d had a while ago. Raided the fridge and made a brew, then nibbled away as I fell asleep again watching the TV.

After a long nod-off, I changed channels to the election results… and had a few kips in between watching them.

Into the morning now, I checked on the final results locally:

5Fri02

To the Porcelain Throne, with good results, I think that Constipation Konrad is leaving me now. Hopefully, the ‘Trotskies‘ will not replace Konrad! Even Haemorrhoid Harold was only bleeding the tiniest bit.

Nodded off…

Inchcock – Thursday 27 April 2017: Busiest Day of the Year!

4Thur01.jpg

Thursday 27 April 2017

Arabic: الخميس 27 أبريل 2017

0300hrs: Woke, reluctantly, tried to get back to sleep, knew I’d been dreaming, but again, no memories of them. I hate that. Hehe! Gave up trying to nod off again when the urge to visit the porcelain throne appeared.

Flipping cold this morning.

Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and nearly went over as Dizzy Dennis caught me unawares as I dismounted. Onto the throne and Duodenal Donald kicked in and the stomach rumbling began. Thought about how I enjoyed yesterday’s Fish and Chip meal and how foolish I was to have gone for it.

Carried out the Health Checks and printed the last few day off so as to show the doctor later on.

4Thur02

All those 163 to 174 Sys readings and then it goes down to 155 on the day I go to see the Doctor? Humph! The weight down a bit again too, mind you, I got onto the scales after the Porcelain Throne session.

Took the medication4Thur03s.

I threw back the curtains as it began to get lighter, and realised why it was so nippy, I’d left the window open!

Humph!

Did some WordPress reading done, made a mug of strong tea… during which I had to make a rather hasty a trip back to the porcelain… just in time! Great! The runs, on a day I’ve got to go to the surgery, chemist, back for the Social Hour, back out to the bank, then the clinic!

4Thur04Back to put the above photograph on here, and noticed some smoke in it, left of the right curtain.

Got a close-up of it from the kitchen window.

No emergency lights were showing. Looked like it was on the housing estate?

Got the paperwork for the day’s needs, Surgery, Bank and Clinic into a folder, put the raffle prizes and nibbles in the bag for the Social Hour and staff. Realised I had not booked an appointment with the Doctor’s Nurse for the Tuesday INR Blood Test… Huh! I’ll have to go to the City Hospital for it then. Far too late to get an appointment for Tuesday now. Hey-ho!

Made some reminder notes to take with me to avoid forgetting to mention something to the Doctor.

Updated this twollop.

Ablutions tended to.

Remembered to gather the things for the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop to take them with me – plan to walk up through the park, up over the hill and to the surgery.

Set out and went the wrong way, half way along Chestnut Walk, I stopped and walked back in the opposite direction, so as to go to the Nottingham Hospice shop – stopped again when I realised I’d put their stuff in the wrong bag, and went back in the original direction. I’ll bet someone was watching and thinking; Look at that fool, what’s he up to now? Hehe!

4Thur05Plenty of time to spare so I took a nice steady hobble down the hill.

Damn it, I had not got the hearing aids in!

A bit of an obstacle course on the pavement with the bins lined up for collection, but still.

Anne Gyna now amalgamated with Duodenal Dennis, and this was most annoying and persistent. Hey-ho!

4Thur06Left and up the hill on Mansfield Road and over the crest… or should that be apex or maybe the crown of the road?

The traffic was building up here in Carrington as I had to stop a few moments to let Anne Gyna calm down.

Even Roger Reflux had a go at me then.

Tsk! Not feeling well at all, yet oddly not poorly.

Does that make sense to you?

4Thur07Further down the hill as I approached the surgery, a sudden uplifting insanity came over me… no not insanity, erm, jollity!

I found Dennis had eased off quickly and I was singing to myself?

Well, maybe insanity after all. Hehe!

I got into the Surgery and consulted my list of things to remember and asked the receptionist if I had booked in for Monday or Tuesday for an INR Blood Test, she confirmed that I had, for 1020hrs. I thanked her, took my seat and got out the crossword book. Noticing as I did, some new posters on the board. It seems the senior Doctor is retiring and Dr Vinla is currently interviewing for a replacement. I thought she was off ill? Big decisions to make for her.

A locum for Dr Vinla was on duty today.

I was told to go in and the Doctor, a far Eastern Gentleman was very cross with me for forgetting the hearing aids, and when I had to ask for confirmation or misheard him, it made him angrier still. Oh dear! Got it wrong again didn’t I? But he was straight to the point. Well, in all but when I asked about and explained the depression and anxiety symptoms, which he told me we all have, and told me to leave it until Dr Vindla returned and warned me that referrals take months sometimes.

Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna’s hassle I mentioned. He said to double up with the Omeprazole for a few days until things calm down. I pointed out that perhaps the stocks might run low, and he said if the do ask for some more later.

4Thur10I requested some extra Codeine Phosphates and was pleased when after he’d read my statistics on the computer, he agreed to do so, because of the Morphgesic SR 30 mg Tablets being stopped in readiness for the graft operation and it should be safe to take some extra 30g Codeines, in place of them. So glad he agreed to this, bless him.

I thanked him, left his office and gave the staff some nibbles in a bag and walked (Very painfully now the feet had started singing) down the road into Carrington and the Chemist shop.

4Thur11Deepak, the chemist and owner, asked me to have a talk with him while I waited for the prescription to be filled.

I mentioned how I was feeling depressed and why. Somehow it was easier to speak with him. A really nice chap, Deepak is.

The chinwag only took a few minutes, and I collected the medications and was off hobbling to the Lidl store.

4Thur08I got only three things today, A bag of small potatoes, a small packet of Sugar-Peas and two small cheese cobs.

I paid on the serve yourself till and got rid of all my small change.

Hehehe! I later regretted this.

Out to the bus stop, (Weary legs and feet now) and got lifted up into Sherwood. Where I dropped off and called at the bank as instructed by the bank manageress last week, to talk to her about the direct debits and how I wanted things handling.

I explained all this to the lady serving, put my card and number into the machine on the counter, and she seemed to concentrate and read things on the screen for ages and ages? I began to fear that something was wrong… My IQ told me something was wrong!

Eventually, after I nearly fell asleep a few times waiting, she said that the manageress was unavailable today??? She added in a wholly disquieting, nerve-making tone, (To me anyway!) That the transfer had gone through and I could now use the new card. Conviction, was missing in her voice? Knowing my luck, I found it hard to believe that things were alright with it. Time will prove me right, my IQ is rarely wrong. Watch this space! Oh, dear…

Started to hobble up the hill to see if any buses might be coming to get me back up to the flats and realised the L8 service had finished, so no matter what the time, no luck. As I knew the L9 route came at 25 minutes past the hour, and it was 54 minutes past now.

So I limped back the way I came from and walked up Winchester Street Hill back to the flats.

Amazingly, I arrived in time (Well, not very late anyway) for the Tenants Social Hour. But it was hard work not hearing folks unless they were next to me and I could see the lips.

Got the raffle tickets and donated them to a table of ladies, handed out the nibbles, managed a quick bit of a gossip with Penny and BJ – then decided to call it quits and go back to the flat to get the hearing aids and take some painkillers and an extra Omeprazole.

4Thur09Boy, was I lucky, just missed the downpour that started as I got in, put the fodder away and had a wee-wee before taking the midday and the extra medications. A bit of a mouthful that, Haha!

The rain was so fine it was hard to see, I’d got the hearing aids in by then and heard it more than saw it.

It only lasted a few minutes, but anyone in it would have recognised it as ‘That wet rain’ and got soaked through!

Did an order for Morrison’s while I thought of it. A job getting the new card accepted, but all okay now.

Set off on slow, nice and easy hobble to the Clinic at the City Hospital, remembering to take the attendance card and bus pass to get back with. See? Sometimes I can get things right, Hehe!

05Thu12.jpg

When I crossed over Valley Road at the pelican lights, a gentleman in a BMW went over on amber, gave me a fright he did.

I was well pleased with Anne Gyna, Arthur Itis and Duodenal Donald (Actually he was less bothersome now?) on the limp to the clinic. Only the feet gave me a lot of any bother. And no rain in sight. Come think of it, the roads might have been greasy, and that’s why Mr BMW didn’t try to stop? Glad I didn’t call him a naughty name now.

The usual Po-faced Obergruppenfurher on the reception again. I’ve worked out to annoy now. I keep a smile on my face and am extremely friendly and polite to him. Haha!

No waiting at all, I was called in within 2 minutes – into an office full of medical professionals and students. They explained As I thought about the Morphine removal being so that if I need it during the graft operation, it would be more efficient for me. The head man (I assumed as the others said nothing to him, except in answer to his prompting, but hung on his every word) explained the procedure in detail to me. But I will not repeat anything on here, cause it fritted me. Hehehe!

Then we all went into the treatment room, and they had a silent giggle and declared me all okay for the surgery to take place, as long as I have no more bad bleeds. After much embarrassment and poking and prodding, we returned back into the office and, he was a Mr, not Doctor? Advised me that having to cancel the original surgical time will mean a longer wait, this time around. Fair enough!  He gave me more cream.

I thanked him, got out into the reception area and smiled at Hitler, the sweetest smile I could manage and said Thank you, my friend, received a look back that should have killed me actually, and got out quickly. Hehe!

I was going to take a photographicalisation of the clinic but had left the camera in the flat. Tsk!

A number 40 bus arrived within seconds of my getting to the bus stop. All this good luck is very worrying yer know! If had got the camera and used it, I’d have missed the bus!

The uphill, but a short walk from the 40 bus stop back to to the apartment block, was excruciating for me, thanks to the state of the feet and Anne Gyna starting to kicking off again.

So glad to get back inside. Had a long wee-wee. Checked on the man and woman handled Little inchy, no bleeding. Phew!

Kettle on, and I took the evening medications then, got the computer on to update this again. Did the last Health Checks. Sys still a little high, but lower than the first two checks.

Oh, the feet and Anne Gyna… but Duodena4Thur08l Donald was bearable.

Got the fodder away went on Facebook catch-up then the meal was prepared and consumed.

The ‘Luxury’ fish surimi sticks were delicious and tasty. I didn’t eat all of it, left most of the potatoes, the pepper was a little too hot for me. The egg was of a plasticity and rubber texture that was unpleasant. However, I did have an orange sucker and a handful of chocolate balls afterwards.

Got the DVD going to watch some more of the Jonathan Creek episodes, the new headphones are marvellous.

Repeatedly fell asleep and had to rewind, so often I gave up trying.
