WD 100.20.0 22:35hrs: I woke, to the sound of the dreaded ‘Hum’, and the rain belting against the balcony windows. It was coming through the many gaps in the windows. And dribbling down onto and underneath the wooden slatted base. Where is was gelling with the many fallen from the plastering, powder and crumbs already fallen. Much of it disappearing underneath the slats. I was strangely interested in this and lay watching for a while. My imagination saw the mess under all of the balconies was getting heavier, and eventually, the weight would cause the collapse of a few of them. I knew if this happened, I would be the one on the balcony at the time. Probably, I’d be unlucky enough to survive and have even more pain and pissed-offedness. Then the thought of the upcoming struggle to get an appointment at the Doctors lingered for a few seconds. Then I was annoyed at needing a wee-wee, meaning IO need to get my hog-like, but wobbly body free of the £300 second-hand rickety recliner.

The odd mood I woke-up in; meant an end to my moments of uhtceare. With klebenleiben, and clinomania shaken-off, a sort of semi-coherence returned to the brain, and I rose up; onto my feet. Grabbed the stick, and hobbled into the wet room. While I was waiting for the LRWS (Long-Reluctant-Weak-Sprinkly) wee-wee to finish, it occurred on me, that Duodenal Donald, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna were all in a good mood with me! Nice!

Off to the kitchen, and turning the light on, the effulgent lighting seemed to piss-off Saccades Sandra, and an inner cascade of jumping colours and unfocussed kitchen parts flashed around. I had to stop where I was until it got less bothersome before moving on. Yet this did not start off Dizzy Dennis at all? No matter, I was pleased about that. I got the kettle on, moved the handwashing onto the airer, took the morning medications and made the brew. Then I gave Arthur Itis’s knees a good rub with the Phorpain gel, maybe it didn’t need it with the joints not playing up, but I thought it an intelligent decision anyway.

WD 100.20.0 Back to the wet room for a heavy-duty evacuation. Oh, dearie me! Bloody, painful and messy. Back to normal then. Haha!

WDP 14LWD 100.20.0 I got on the computer to update the Friday Inchcock Today diary and found that the fingers were giving my mini-quiverings and making typing work very difficult. Ever correcting. But I had no choice other than to keep pressing on. I eventually got it done and posted off to WordPress.

Then went on the TFZer Facebooking. Made a brew and had a look at the current state of the nation, electorally. Not what one would have wanted, but there you are. A lot more results to come in yet, I think.

5Fri01

Thoughts turned to jentacular desires. So I made another brew and had two mint-biscuits. Ah, the good life. Hahaha!

Then I had a look at the WordPress Reader. Then rechecked on the voting.

5Fri02

I had a go at getting some graphics done for the next template. I only got one done, then had to get the ablutions done.

5Fri004

Just a thought, but they used to make use of a machine (1906 -1907) for automatically recording votes, a psephograph (1906 -1907). Too reliable, maybe?

5Fri22

5Fri08I’ll get a clean up then. Back in a bit. I took a snap of the cold outside view. Peaceful looking, idyllic too. Huh!

Well, I had to utilise the Porcelain throne first. No discomfort and no bleeding. The dropsies were not too many (he says trying not to tell you how many), the sock-glide was accident-free! Afterwards, when I was all polished and perfumed ready for dressing, could I find my £2 wristwatch with the £10 strap and £15 battery? I took me ages, so long, I thought I might need another shave by the time I found the watch! Haha!

Checked the flat, flapped about, lights, taps etc. looked over. I took the back bags with me to the waste chute when I departed along with the white bag for the recycling bin.

I got down and to the Obersturmbannfhreress, ILC Wardens Control Room and Holding Cell, nibbles issued, and out to the big Winwood Social room. I accepted a few put-downs from Welsh William and had a natter. Moving through the link corridor to the Winchester Court lobby, and waited there along with some other tenants, to avoid the rain, until the bus arrived. The wind and rain greeted us as we left to get to the shelter as the buses came.

5Fri09I had a go on the crosswording en route. Dropping off on Upper Parliament Street. The rain still with us. Straight into the Poundland World, to get some Dettol Lavender and toilet blocks and have a look around. Taking a photograph of the thousands of bits of chewing gum all over the pavement. Humph!

WD 100.20.0 I came out of the store, after being given help on the self serve checkouts, by a kind assistant. The card would not work, and I could not remember the number. Humph! With the trolley and carrier bag holding: Dettol brown (no lavender available). A Pork Farms pork pie, Bloo toilet blocks, Mouthwash and some Orange digestive biscuits (which I had to battle to get from the top shelf, but they are my favourite chocolate biscuits, so I went through pain to attain them. Haha!). Paid cash, thanked the lady for her help, and left.

Out onto Parliament Street in the rain, again.

5Fri10

This chaps driving skill left me shuddering. Foot down and forward, scattering pedestrians!

5Fri11

Nottinghamian pedestrians cross against the lights!

5Fri12

Nottinghamian pedestrians cross against the lights!

5Fri13

Nottinghamian pedestrians cross against the lights!

5Fri14The chewing gum on Clumber Street, where I took some of the above photographs from, sheltered a little from the wind, also had thousands of chewing gum blobs on it. That is if they are discarded masticated bits chewing gum? I assume that is what they are? But I’m not sure.

5Fri15I limped down Clinton Street, observing the expressions. Thus, the mood of the Nottinghamian shop-lifters, muggers, pick-pockets, illegal immigrants, students, drug-pushers, alcoholics, house-breakers, uninsured car owners, TWOCers and the TWOCed, Benefit cheats… Sorry, got carried away there! Anyway, it seemed to me, that there was a general feeling on their mushes, of resignation, acceptance of the inevitable, and a touch of euphobia, perhaps?

5Fri16Down along Long Row and onto Wheeler Gate. To try to find some lavender Dettol at the Poundland store on there. I took this dismal photo of the appallingly messy looking Slab Square, and South Parade. The mood was becoming depressive around the area, and my EQ told me to be wary. Nothing happened, but I put myself in Defence and Desticated mode.

At the self-serve tills, a really kind lady put the things through for me, (she was on duty the last time when I got the sensory nerve-ends problems and kept dropping things, which didn’t endear me to the waiting in the queue, shoppers behind me!). I managed surprisingly to remember the card number! I came out with; Sliced wholemeal cobs, Lavendar Dettol, 5Fri017and mushroom pate. I made sure I told the lady that I appreciated her help, and off out into the rain and increasingly nasty wind outside.

I hobble across the market, and up Queen Street onto Upper Parliament Street, and took this photograph towards the Victoria Centre shopping centre (mall).

5Fri018As I turned to go back down Queen Street, the skies darkened threateningly. No one was at the bus shelter waiting. I got myself underneath the cover of the plastic overhang. A lady joined me, and she was concerned about the L9 being late. As I was explaining about the bus always being late on this run, due to the changeover of 5Fri019drivers. The bus arrived to make me a liar! Hehe!

I had a failed go at the crosswording on the way back. I believe I was the only person to get off of the bus at Winwood Heights.

WD 100.20.0 And it was into the most horrendously high winds I’ve ever suffered. Just getting to the door was a battle to stay on my feet. Luckily the bus stop is now close to Winchester Court, and I entered their lobby and walked through the link passages back to Woodthorpe Court. As I got in my own lift lobby, the warmth of the new Winwood Court was replaced with a colder, drafty Woodthorpe one!

5Fri20WD 100.20.0 Up to the flat, and took an INHBT (I-needn’t-have-bothered-trickling) wee-we. I came out of the wet room and saw a note had been put through the letterbox. Oh, Damn! Again, I’d just missed the phlebotomy nurse by five minutes! But no guilt lingered for once. No one had told me when she was due! I had not received any Notification of what my last test results or what the new doses should be! Not from the Sherwood Medical Practice, nor the Anticoagulation Haemostasis and Deep Vein Thrombosis Clinic either!  BPAFMPOM (Beyond-Pathetic-and-Feeble-Minded-Pissed-off-Mode) engaged)

5Fri21I was in a depression now.

I put the receipts on the computer to use in the morning to update. Got the nosh done. Made some pate and tomato sarnies, the last of the open garden peas and beetroot. As if to point out my change in luck, I took a photo of the plate of fodder. It seems to have drifted off into the ether when I put the images on in the morning! Grumph!

I felt sickened with missing the blood nurse, especially as it was not my fault, but I know I’ll get blamed! The Desticate from my EQ, now becomes clear, why!

Depressed, enervated, annoyed and spiritually incapacitated, I forced myself to do the washing up and handwashing.

Got down in the recliner, and mentally stewed for ages. Sour, bitter, frustrated and gloomy.

So, no change there, then!

Tuesday 26th November 2019

Afrikaans: Dinsdag 26 November 2019

0Nov 26

01:05hrs: Woke, and easy-up (Sounds like an American egg?), from the rickety recliner on my feet, caught my balance. Started to hobble to the wet room for the Porcelain Throne activities that were being demanded from the innards.

WDP 02LWD 0.0.255 2 And collapsed in a heap, landing entangled with the walking stick and swivel chair! Swearing silently (I hope) I surprisingly got up rather quickly and easily, then had a visit from Dizzy Dennis, and sat back down in the grotty-beige coloured recliner. I stewed over what had just happened with myself. ‘Had I got up too swiftly?’ ‘What made me tumble in the first place?’ ‘How the hell did I get back up so quickly?’ ‘How come I had a welt on my chin and head, although I did not remember hitting anything on the way down?’ ‘I had a feel around the limbs and torso, but I found no injuries other than tiny unpainful marks on the face?’ Yet, I had a headache coming on rapidly, as the dizziness dissipated. But my investigations and musings were soon terminated, as the reminder of the need for the Throne gurgled!

I rose gently, and to my absolute delight, could not see any damage caused to the four-pronged walking stick, as I made my way, gingerly and cautiously, to the wet room. I must say, I was delighted with the evacuation (it’s sad when this happens, shows what sort of life I have, when one appreciates an evacuation, dunnit? Hehe!) There was no bleeding from front or rear. A bit messy again, but it’s been a lot worse. But very little pain, that was a pleasant change I appreciated. I cleaned things up and poddled to the kitchen, musing again on the odd start to the day, and the gloomy thoughts of the After-Stroke Physio came to mind, and my spirits dropped a notch or two at the prospect.

2Tue01I had a peep outside through the unwanted, light & view-blocking kitchen window at the weather. It was raining, which didn’t exactly fill me with optimism for the walk to the physio session later.

I moved the handwashing onto the airers. Got the kettle on, took the medications, made a brew, and got on the computer to do yesterday’s blog updating. There was not a lot to do, so few pictures were taken while I was flat-bound and suffering the worst day I’d had for months! So, it was done in record time, despite the occasional bit of the autoimmune neuromuscular nerve failings giving the fingertips a few shakes and insensitive to touch moments.

I went on the WordPress Reader, some great stuff on there today, photographs and scripturally. Then posted a few shots to Pinterest. Then went of TFZer Facebooking.

Getting on, and have to get the ablutions done, then have a dig-around and search to find enough cash for the bus fare to town!

WDPT01LThe ablutions went well. Only a couple of dropsies and shaving cuts. The search for some cash was successful, and I raised the £2.30 needed for the bus fare. It was in odds and ends, 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p and pound coins, but still. Of course, had xyrophobia-suffering, retired at 40 due to a lottery win and being left a fortune by an unknown relative, Brother-in-Law Pete, not stole all my valuables, while he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward. (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later), I’d have had the money for the bus fare!

2Tue01I got myself wrapped up warmly, nibbles in the bag, and down and out of the flat, out of the Foyer with its new doors, out into the cold, wet murky morning and hobbled along Chestnut Walk. I took this shaky, distorted sad effort of 2Tue02the photograph on Chestnut Walk. Certainly not one of better shots. I got to the bus stop on Winchester Street Hill, my second photo caught a car speeding up the hill. He or she might have been late for work?

The bus driver gave me a rum-look when I dropped all the pennies and silver into the payment box. He kindly waiting until I was ensconced in the sidesaddle seat before he moved off. I worked on the crossword book en route, with varying success.

Getting ready for the others to get off at the Parliament Street stop, a lady held u the massive flow of people rushing off, pointed to me with the walker, said something I didn’t hear and allowed me to get off! That was sweet of her!  I smiled and thanked her as I dismounted the bus. 2Tue02a

I took a snap as I hobbled along Upper Parliament Street, not many folks about. I wondered where all those had gone who had piled off the bus? Then, I saw a long queue at the ‘Boots Workbus’ stop.

WD 0.0.255 2 I got into the Victoria Centre (Mall) and caught my reflection in a window – no wonder the lady assisted me, it shook me how pale and drawn I looked!

WDP 16RWD 0.0.255 2 As I hobbled to the other end, on my way to the Tesco Store, I had few Dizzy Dennis visits, all short ones, but a good few of them. Things got worse in the store. I found myself suddenly in a different aisle, as if by magic, with sliced cobs in the basket? The blank spots were with me, I could not remember going in the bread section, let alone putting the cobs in the bag! This was not good. I seemed in and out of control, but no one was looking at me as far as I could tell, and I got to the checkout with the lady asking if I was feeling alright, and insisting after I’d paid, she put the things in the bag for me? Told me to take care!

WD 0.0.255 2 I got a significant visit from Dizzy Dennis on the way out of the store. I stopped and pretended to sort my bags out while waiting for things to calm down. Which they did, but I still felt a little unsteady on the my feet. And why in heck I bought more cooking sauces and seaweed snacks, I’ll never know!

WDPright03WD 0.0.255 2 I slowly walked back the length of the centre, and out onto Parliament Street. I’m not sure what happened next. A lady and a Policeman or Security Guard were talking to me. Had I fell over? Had a tumble? Had they seen me stopping so often to catch my balance? Or was it just that I looked so sickly that they came to see if I was alright? I think I was saying, ‘Thank you, I’m fine’ an awful lot? It was going to be one of those in and out of it, memory-blanks days.

2Tue03As I got outside, I felt a lot better in myself, also a lot wetter. Hehehe! I crossed the road and took this rare photograph of a not-filled-with-pedestrians Clumber Street. Of course, it was still early yet, no shoppers or shop-lifters around. McDonald’s was open with customers, mind!

I went into the Poundland Store, initially to try and get the lavender Dettol antiseptic disinfectant. I came out having to buy another bag to hang the stuff on, and came out with two bags hanging on the bars, and the trolley-walker bag all full! I’d bought 4 bottles of Dettol, biscuits, nuts, toilet blocks, and several nibbles for treats (I think).

2Tue04Again, when I got outside, I began to feel a little easier, more in control of things, and my walking improved, no more Dennis Dennis for a while after this. I walked along to the crossing corner, and through Trinity Square up to Goldsmith Street.

2Tue05I had a moment’s contemplation as I awaited the green walk sign. I thought that perhaps all the hassle and anguish of Monday might have caused this morning’s, erm… ‘unwellness’. The dizzies, absentmindedness. As for the paleness 2Tue04athat scares folks, I’ll ask the nurse in the morning.

WD 0.0.255 2 The lights changed and started to walk across the road, and a pavement slab was loose, as I trod on it, the dislodged stale rainwater shot up my trouser leg, and fell down into the shoe, giving the left foot a distinctive squelching sound afterwards.

Recollections of getting to and through the After-Stroke session are a bit confused. That is, up until just before the end, that bit is crystal-clear. The early parts, foggy. I know we had laugher, but also a few serious moments (I think). Form-filling? The last bit, we were all sat around tables with nibbles on them. Much laughter here and there. I think I regretted having to leave early, to catch the bus home.

Once out and on my way to the bus stop, things, well, memories seemed back to normal? I took these photographs near Queen Street.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

On the bus,  had a natter, moan and laughs with several ladies, I think we were taking the rise out of things and companies? At the flats, Helloed with Penny, Bill and someone else, and made my way out of the rain and into Winchester Court, and through their link passage into Winwood Court. There was an atmosphere in there, no people mind.

2Tue08aI took a photograph of the ILCs Holding Cell & Office as I passed, in the new Winwood Court lobby, near the lifts.

I carried on hobbling down the link passage into the mysteriousness of my beloved Woodthorpe Court, that lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination. Up in the lift, then the flat, with no living soul in sight.

The bones and limbs were beginning to ache a bit. I got the unneeded items I’d bought put away, well, on the side of the sink. I’ll make room for them in the cupboard later if I can.

Made a brew, and scribbled what I could remember down on the notepad to use in the morning’s blog doing. And had a quiet moment pondering on the day’s disasters. Monday’s was mental problems and confusion. Today’s the same (but to a far lesser extent) with health issues., memory loss and blanks, Dizzy Dennis moment and lack of self-control. That was as far as I got, Humph!

I got the ready-made boeuf bourguignon* & mash meal in the oven cooking. (*Try spelling that when you’ve never had any before, Haha!) Set the timer for 25 minutes, and made some caramelised gravy to add to the meal later. The timer buzzed, and I removed the plastic plate, took off the cover, added the juice and stirred it all up, and back in the oven for another 20 minutes, and set the alarm again.

I thought I’d put on the Kind Hearts and Coronets DVD. Wondering why the heck I had not watched it before, I recall enjoying the film at the pictures when it was released… a few years ago. He-he!

2Tue09Set up, had a wee-wee, took the evening medications and served up the fodder. I was interested to see if I liked this boeuf bourguignon. Well, it was alright, but I’ll not bother with it again. A 6.5/10 Flavour Rating is the best I could give it. It was not my kettle of fish or type of meal. Too bland. Without the caramelised gravy added, it might have been uneatable. Nice mashed spuds, though.

I did what bit of washing up was needed, and left the handwashing, as I was now overtired, and the joints were all beginning to ache now. What the ‘eck did I do at the After-Stroke Physio session to feel like this? Ah, it could be that I did tumble over in the Vic Centre, then? Who knows? Certainly not me! You’ve just got to laugh yer see! Hehehe! I went off for a wee-wee! Another enigma this, why are the wee-wees so variable all the time? I only fleetingly considered this question, too weary to bother.

I settled to watch the Kind Hearts and Coronets DVD, in black & white of course. A quintessential British comedy as I remember. At the time I saw it at the Grove Cinema around 1955, I was let in, because amazingly, this comedy/farce about a multiple murdering Duke, was granted a ‘U’ certificate in 1949. Just I’d mention it.

2Tue10WDP 02Rb.WD 0.0.255 2 Anyway, I found out why I had not watched the DVD before. It had no Subtitles! I did my best, but the sound was terrible, muffled, screeching, too bad to hear any words! A real shame, I was so looking forward to watching it! Humph!

WDP09LI turned on the TV, convinced that if I find some banal rubbish to view (Not a hard thing to do), I’ll fall to sleep for sure. But no! The days Memory-blanks, Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplops replayed in my mind, over and over, and I ended up worrying myself to sleep. Hahaha!

Poor old sausage!

WD 0.0.50 00:25hrs: The first thing that broke into my muddled-chaotic mind this morning was that ever-present humming, drowning wind-like noise that surrounds the entire block of flats, and how extremely noisier it was! Grr!

6Sat03WDP 13LWD 0.0.50 Then the Colin Cramps started off again, and a few well-chosen, well not really; more like automatic silently mouthed curses were uttered, as the agony sank in! Yet, amazingly, this passed very quickly, confusing my already befuddled brain even further!

WDP 16RWD 0.0.50 The need for the Porcelain Throne became apparent, and the dysaesthesia made getting up out of the £300 second-hand c1968 recliner more difficult than usual. I must have looked like a drunken man, as the myasthenia gravis and dying autonomic nerves ensured I could not sense the arms of the chairs, and ended up in a fine mess, half-in and half-out of the chair muddle! I had to smile at my predicament! The Idiopathic side-affects made my escape from the huddle I found myself in, was not easy. It took planning and forethought before my manoeuvering my mass into an upright position. It took that long, the necessity for the Porcelain Throne usage had moved to Defcon Two!

WDP 10LWD 0.0.50 I stumbled my way to the wet room, knocking stuff off of the Ottoman and clouting my elbow on the door frame on the way! Not a second to spare, onto the throne, and a half-way evacuation got stuck! The crossword book helped me kill time and not think so much of the painWDP 13dR for several minutes until things started moving of their own accord – then the pain level rose, but there was no controlling the action. Gritted my teeth, grimaced a bit, and finally a splash-causing ‘Kerplonk-Thunk’, and blessed relief! Phew! Then the cleansing and sanitising and medicating had to be done, off course. Bleeding from Little Ichies fungal lesion, and Harold’s Haemorrhoids! No matter how far I get behind with things today, nor how bad the weather will be, and having to struggle with two-hourly buses, I will have to get out today, and get some more Haemorrhoid cream! We’ll see?

I recalled belatedly of a dream I’d had. I think it was Silver, a cyber-friends cat, who kept coming down off of the ceiling hanging cat-run and purring at me, then back up and jumping down and repeating this activity? Great dream! I made a friend for life in it!

To the kitchen, took the medications and made a delightfully flavoursome brew of the Thompson tea. I had nosey out of the window, taking a few snaps of the scene.

6Sat02a

The rain was very light but just as soak-you-able as yesterday’s was. Haha!

I proceeded in an Easterly direction, to the computer. And got on with updating the Saturday blog, which only took me about three-and-half hours! With many wee-wees, all of the SGSS (Short-Gently-Sprinkling-Spraying) style, as I did so. Had a look at the WordPress reader.

WD 0.0.50 DSCN0919The damned annoying whining, droning noise from outside seemed to be getting even louder now! I went to make another brew. And the imitation Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance was most involuntarily performed, and the Polyneuropathy caused me to drop the walking stick and mug of just made tea! It went over the floor and the tall brush & dustpan, so cleaned up and returned after making another mug of brew, to the computer to make a start on this post.

I pondered on how to get to town later for the Haemorrhoid cream, Strong vinegar and some Balsamic vinegar, too. I used the last of it in with the sliced mushrooms in the slow-cooker.

The ablutions had to be done next. But I got sidetracked again, and did the handwashing first, and wrung and hung.

WDP 11kLThe ablutions went phenomenally well! One, I say One cut shaving, no damage doing the teggies, a few dropsies as is to be expected with the myasthenia gravis problem being so much worse this morning, no sock-glide injuries and just the one belting of the elbow on the door frame. (I’m getting a little too regular with doing this lately) Smug-Mode-Temprarilty-Adopted!

WDP 13bLWD 0.0.50 Until the need for another Porcelain Throne evacuation arrived as I was coming out of the wet room. A colossal-dollop that the system could not handle! I ended up trying to free things, and filling the jug with water repeatedly to get things moving again! Peeving that, and a messy job! Ah, well, no bleeding this time!

Iceland delivery expected soon. I checked on the Saturday bus times on the computer, I 6Sat03ahope the food comes in time for me to get the L9 bus at 10:32hrs. If not, then so be it, I’ll stay in, or walk down to Sherwood just for the haemorrhoid cream.

Iceland arrived with the nosh. Not a lot came, but then again, not a lot was ordered!

6Sat04Mostly Christmas treats for others. And nibbles for me, including seedless red grapes, savoury bites, chocolate nuts and crisps.

Also, new potatoes, thick-sliced tiger bread, cooked meats, Cheeselets and Twiglets. Two boxes of 6 of Walnut Whips and button mushrooms.

6Sat05I made a brew of tea, took a picture on the view outside, and updated this post a bit.

The persistent flaming howling and droning winds whatever they might be remain just as bad!

Got myself wrapped up all nice and warm, and set out to the bus stop.

I met Angela and Roy on the way through the link-passage, handed out some nibbles, and we had a little natter. On to Obergruppenfüreresses holding cell, no one in. Spoke to Herbert as I walked through the large social area, and out to the bus stop. I listened to the chinwagging, and we all (about ten of us) got on the bus when it arrived. Had a failed bash at the crosswords en route.

6Sat28I dropped off at the bottom of Hockley and went to the Asian Food store. It’s always best to go there first, cause their aisles are filled with goods and very narrow, I had to keep collapsing the trolley to get through to have a nosey around. Coming out with some crispy seaweed snacks, and what I went there for in the first place, a bottle of the delicious fire-brand strong tasty Marca Pina cooking vinegar. Very nice when added to mushroom, don’t you know.

WD 0.0.50 I plodded up the Goosegate Hill, and down through Pelham Street and Thurland STreet, and into the Wilko store. Realising as I did so, that I am disabled, and needed to go further on to Parliament Street to gain access. The entrance on Thurland Street involved steep stairs getting in and out. Stairs, which, with the Walker-guide, was impossible for me. I’d not thought of that until it was too late, Hehe! I came out less well-off, cause I got carried away a bit… again, with the buying-disease! I came out with a full trolley-guide bag and a large carrier bag, both being almost full! With, Fabric conditioner, liquid soap flakes (handwashing), Snack Brazils, chocolate peanuts (3) for £2, and some hopefully more powerful, sink & drain unblocker.

6Sat07I paid up, and out onto Upper Parliament Street, where I took this photograph, to the left along the road. Showing the street musician, who attends this spot every weekend it seems, not that it was producing much interest from the passing Nottinghamian shoplifters, yet. But credit to the lad, he does usually do well in collecting monies from the ladies in particular. Despite his chronically bad music, voice, hair, scruffy beard and hoodie. Good for him! You don’t need skills if you’ve got nerve!

I popped into the Poundland store and spent some more. On black bags, another but cheaper sink unblocker, and yoghourt peanuts. Just as well the bags were nearly full, it stopped me buying even more unwanted stuff! Tsk! Paid at the self-serve tills.

I had a hobble down Clumber Street. Taking some, I think, decentish photographs.

6Sat13As I turned into Long Row, the first signs of the Christmas Fayre appeared. The famous little helter-skelter, not exciting enough for kids nowadays, was not doing much in the way of trade again.

WD 0.0.50 I called in the Exchange Arcade, under the Council House. Not any customers in there at all. And the picture I took, which dissolved, off into the ether, not on the SD card, gone forever, Humph! I came out in the end entrance, onto Long Row, which was half-way down on the left, hidden in the photo above. I took snaps to my left, ahead and to the right, of the not-very-happy looking Nottinghamian’s, milling around the stalls and rubbish bins.

The Ice Mountain Toboggan Ride – At Winter Wonderland. Part of this year’s Winter Wonderland, the ride can accommodate two people at any one time and will cost £3 for two goes.
The ride starts with punters climbing the staircase to the left of the slide, popping their bottom into the middle of a giant inflatable ring, holding on to the hand-grips on either side and being pushed down the slope.

So, two runs for £3. Not bad that!

I timed the descent of the two in the photograph, it lasted for seven seconds.

6Sat26I poddled up Queen Street and onto Parliament Street, and took this picture of the sensibly well-wrapped up Nottinghamian’s going miserably about there Saturday ventures.

Then back down the hill, to the bus L9’s bus stop. I observed the replaced during upgrading gargoyle shelters on the rooftop.

6Sat26a

I felt a little sad that the architect designed figurines had been removed in the cleaning process, unsafe I suppose? For sheer devilment, later I made a mock-up of how I would have liked the shot to appear. Hahaha! I am a clot!

I had another failed effort at getting some more crossword answering done on the way home. The bus filled up well en route, and back at Winwood Heights, about fifteen residents alighted the bus alongside me. A tenant waiting with a few more, to get on the bus, saw me struggling a bit with the trolley-guide and kindly assisted me onto the pavement. Those who got off of the vehicle were all a little nimbler than I. They shot inside the flats ahead of me, out of the cold.  I don’t blame them either! So, a lonely, chin-waggless journey through the link-corridors and big social room it was. Although, I did say hello to Herbert, who had done marvels during the afternoon with his jig-saw puzzle progress.

WDP14aLWD 0.0.50 I met a gent and lady at the lift lobby, and we went up together having a chinwag, I got out to allow them to exit the cage on the fourth floor, and the lift doors closed and it shot off before I could get back in with the trolley-walker. Ah, well! I waited for one to arrive.

WDP 11gRWD 0.0.50 I got back up to the flat, and straight to the wet room, for yet another Porcelain Throne session and a massive long slow wee-wee! Where is it all coming from? Another near-system blocking evacuation, and a wee-wee that again got me having a bash at the crossword book! Still, on the bright side, little bleeding and not a messy effort, at all!

I got the purchases stored away, and made a start on the day’s nosh! I made some lamb gravy up, and sliced onions and tomatoes then added them in a pan to heat up while the potatoes and minced lamb cooked in the oven. After twenty minutes, I took the mini-ready-made meal out of the oven, and added the gravy, tomatoes, onions and the last of the balsamic vinegar, stirred things in well, and back in the kiln for another half-hour. (The food, not me!)

WDPStraightWD 0.0.50 It was at this stage, that I felt a right dumbo! Nothing unusual I know!) I’d realised I had forgotten to get the Harold Haemorrhoid Cream while I was out and about! An angst-making bout of mock-spitting, cursing, self-loathing, depression, self name-calling, and self-questioning followed! Schlemiel!

6Sat27WDP 09LThe meal turned out superbly. For me anyway, others might not have appreciated it as much as like-wot-I-did. For I had overcooked it a tad, but I caught it in time before anything got burnt, just extremely well done, which was perfect! A taste-rating of 9.2/10 was given! Yummy!

I got the few pots washed, moved the handwashing about on the airers, and took the evening medications. Then settled into the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. The one that Xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later).

Got the TV on, coughed a few times, passed wind, and I was soon off to sleep – amazingly!

Inchcockski – Thur 24 Oct 19: Computer hassle, got soaked through. Wee-weeing too much, and had a nightmare!

Oct 24

03:40hrs: I stirred, and again there was no time for faffing about. I needed to haul up my onerous, flabby, hawgly body from the recliner posthaste, and get to the Porcelain Throne! Which I did, despite the complaining from Arthur Itis.

WD Indigo I almost fell-over my stick en route, banged my elbow on the door frame, but made it in time, by the skin of my teeth! The session was fine, with no huffing and puffing, messiness, or bleeding. Fine! To the kitchen.

WD Indigo I got the medications taken, made a brew, and got the computer on. The TFZer Facebooking caught up with, next, got on with updating yesterday’s blog. Which took me a long time again. The fingers were losing and regaining sensitivity to touch on and off all day, really.

WD Indigo Then…

Vir 128

WD Indigo 4Thu01So, I gave up computerisationing and got the ablutioning tended to. The knees didn’t look too bad this morning. However, with the right hand and fingers nerve-ends still playing up, there were plenty of dropsies, toilet roll, flannel, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving foam, razors, towel… on and on! Hehe!

I got dressed and made another mug of tea. Took these pictures below, in different modes.

1Mon09a

1Mon09bAS I went back into the junk room two (living room), I espied a lot of mess on the front of the electric fire? Dirt and dust. I thought I’d gt it cleaned up.

WD Indigo A mistake that. Cause I foolishly got the rag and spray and got down to clean it up, and that was that for about ten minutes. My struggle to get back up, was eventually successful, well, partially anyway! Without my leaving the new four-prongs walking stick nearby, I might well still be down there on the carpet! The mess is still there, awaiting my next brave-moment coming, so I can tackle it again! Back-Pain-Brenda and Arthur Itis were not happy!

WD Indigo Back on the computer and it was working again, flipping slow instead of Terribly slow. Haha!  The WordPress site then took over as CATP (Chief-Aggravationionalisitcal-Torment provider)! So, I gave up once again. And decided to catch a very late L9 bus into town, to try and get the black-book Diaries from the Poundland shop, so I could hand them out as Christmas pressies, and get some Lavender Dettol as well. I swapped the items from the sleeveless jacket, into the old heavy tweed coat, and found to my utter amazement, that it fitted my bulbous body!

Then got the black bags made up and taken to the chute, then returned to recheck that things were not left on or off that shouldn’t be. Got two potatoes in the slow-cooker, and set off down the lift, to visit the Wardens Holding-Cells and Interrogation Office with the nibble bag, on my way to the bus stop.

4Thu03I got in the lift, finding a bit of a mess on the floor. Out and turned right along the link-passage through Winwood Court to the Chief Obergruppenführeress’s Interrogation Room. The wonderful welcoming heat hit me as I got into the Winwood Court part. I would have been happy to move into living in this place!

Had a natter, and I cunningly found out that a 2020 dairy would go down as an acceptable gift. (I asked them Hehe!) Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Deana and Oberstgruppenfhüreress Julie were both in the cell when I arrived. Nibbles distributed, chinwag enjoyed, farewells exchanged, and off to the bus stop.

WD Indigo I sat in the Winchester Court foyer for a few minutes, as the weather outside was offering torrential rain! But had to go out in it, as the time for the bus’s arrival drew near. I found Christine, Frank, and John out there, hiding inside the entrance to the caretaker’s bin room, keeping out of the rain. We had a laugh and natter, then moved to the bus stop.

4Thu04I got off at the terminus on Queen Street, brolly up and started to walk down to the Slab Square. I soon found I was having great difficulty in controlling the three-wheel-walker, with one hand, and trying to keep the umbrella up with the other! It was challenging and painful too.

4Thu05Using the one hand had brought on the nerve insensitivity, and taking photographs of any quality proved hit and miss, mostly miss!

WD Indigo I had a bit of a comical moment with the trolley, though. I was still on an incline when I took a picture of a lady and daughter in the rain. Holding the brolly and using the camera with one hand and brolly in the other, and this was taking some concentration and effort on my behalf. I was not aware that I had not put the brakes on the trolley until just after taking the shot, and feeling for the trolley handle which was no longer there, a lady, who had retrieved the walker as it ran down the hill, was returning it to me! The almost laughing, smiling lady was so kind and understanding and asked if 4Thu06she would mind if she related the incident to the staff at work because it was so entertaining to her! She said, as I humbly and embarrassingly thanked her, she was a nurse at the Queens Medical Centre. I’m sure my face turned red, despite the cold wind and rain! Hahaha! I hope she doesn’t tell the local radio or newspaper about it, though. But if she reads this, thank you again, Elsie!

4Thu07I turned onto Long Row and ensconced myself under the eaves of the shop fronts to take some pictures. At least I could use both hands now, to take the shots!

Nottingham’s Pavement Cyclists didn’t take long to appear as I scanned the scene for an interesting shot. This one on the left was particularly dangerous to the pedestrians around him. Swine!

The rain was obviously not going to ease-off, so I hobbled out into and through it and made my way to the Poundland store. I was well soaked by the time I got there. The tweed coat weighed so much, with the sodden rain on it. The hands and fingers were playing up, and Arthur Itis started kicking off, the rain soaking the trousers, I suppose? The shop had none of the black diaries left, but I found some others to get. I ended up getting: Some sherbert saucers, chocolates for nibbles, wholemeal cobs, toothpaste, can a beef, and five diaries.

Paid at the self-service tills, packed the bags and out on my way back to the bus stop. I hobbled through the square to Queen Street.

4Thu08dI stopped on South Parade, got under cover, and took this shot of the tram stops with the messy untidy horribly hidly-piddly, slatternly slab Square.

It’s a good job the trams are heavy, cause there was enough rainwater flowing down over the lines to take out a canoe or two. Hahaha!

4Thu08eWD Indigo The bus stop stay was a long one and a wet one. The roof of the shelter leaked, and cunningly filled the bag on the trolley without my noticing at first, Humph! Luckily I had put the new diaries in an ordinary carrier bag, then into a strong thicker one, wrapped the plastic around it and put it in the trolly bag on top. Then I saw that the carrier bag I had on the handlebars, had partly filled with rain as well! And, the bus was 12-minutes late in arriving, so I got even wetterer!

4Thu08FOther potential passengers had gone to catch another bus by then. When I got on, I was the sole passenger!

There are always passengers getting on at the Victoria Centre stop, and I was surprised as the bus shot by, and nearly got tumbled out of the side-saddle seat, when he jammed on the brakes to stop further along. Many of our residents got on at a different bus number’s stop? It appears that gas works on the main road, had forced a temporary moved for the L9 – and nobody had informed the driver! He was not a happy laddie! Which showed up in his Stirling Moss approach, for the rest of the journey. Cyndy with her grand-daughter, Ray, William got on with others. I had a good natter with the lads en route.

As we approached the flats, Ray noticed the parked cars again, around the turning island for the buses. As we got off the bus, he said there is a meeting taking place today, and he was going to join them and tell them of the parking problem. And this chap is just the bloke you want on your side, he’ll inform ’em in no uncertain fashion! As we walked through the big meeting room/lounge/social room, Ray left me and took a seat to and joined in the Tenants meeting.

4Thu21aI visited the holding cells of and gave them a choice of diaries to Riechsfhreress and Catwalk Model Warden Deana and  Obersturmführer and Pole-dancer, and beauty advisor, Warden Julie. I also took a photograph of them, which they posed for in a willingly for me, bless ’em. I’ll put this photo below as a header for my Facebook page for a while!

A pink and blue one was chosen, leaving me with a black, cream and Azure one, to hand out later.

4Thu11In the morning when I made up this diary updating, I did a CorelDraw edited graphic, adding two confiscated items from tenants items on Julie’s tabletop, to the second photo, Can you see them? Hahaha!

Do they have charming smiles or what!

I said my farewells and made my way, pottering along the link-passageway, enjoying the heat in there, before getting into the Woodthorpe Court shambles and started shivering when I hit the lower temperature prevalent. Brrr! Not good when one is so wet!

I emptied the trolley bag, well, I thought I did, but found I’d missed some in the morning, Humph! Had an SSWW (Short-Sprinkly) wee-wee. Then got the nosh planned and on the cook. I used the potatoes from the slow cooker, sliced then, dried them, got some Leicester red cheese sprinkled on top of them, and into the oven to cook. Garden peas in the saucepan and some German Brunswick smoked ham on the plate ready to add the other fodder to.

4Thu14Took another SSWW wee-wee, and got a wash. By which time the spuds were ready, so served up this delightful plateful. Two of the wholemeal cobs and an apple rounded off the feast. A flavour-rating of 7/10 granted.

Got the pots in the washing-up bowl, and had to have another wee-wee. A good job this leaking didn’t start when I was out in town!

Got the washing up done, then the handwashing was done and hung to dry.

WD Indigo I took three photos of the clouds on different camera settings. But I’m blown if I can find the note I scribbled so I wouldn’t forget now. Schlemiel! Not that I can see any difference in them, mind.

£300, c1968, second-hand, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty recliner, and turned the TV on.

For once, the sleep came quickly, along with the dreaming. My being chased through corridors shot at, etc. in a destroyed or bombed skyscraper again. I’ve not had this nightmare for ages, but it was back. This time instead of throwing myself off of the rooftop, I actually flew away into the clouds, almost like Superman in a film… this seagull came alongside me, and flew with me for ages, just turning its head to look at me frequently… I had to ask it, ‘What you after then?’ It replied ‘I’m waiting for you to realise that you can’t fly!’ Down I tumbled, with the bird squawking with a smile on its face… I landed in a river, down I went under the water, choking, but not too bothered by it, and woke up on a riverbank, with Aliens all around me talking gobble-di-gook that I understood, but realised I should not be able to! They were telling me I must go back home? Well, it made a nice change to have a simple dream I could follow, well, I say follow…

Oct 19

02:35hrs: I stirred, stewing over a dream I’d had. It was a scary, horrible, nerve-tingling load of memories of my past failures, all mingled together, with the added lack of future in the mix. Not nice at all!

After freeing the memory-box of these thoughts, I moved the body, piece by piece, in a bid to assess what the ailments would be like and up to this morning. Thank heavens, RAI (Rheumatoid Arthur Itis), seemed to be much kinder to me, especially after yesterday’s heavyweight-pounding he gave me. This morning stiff knees were so much less painful. But, Duodenal Donald was on top form, as was Back-Pain-Brenda. As I rose free from the £300, second-hand, c1968, rickety recliner, and got upright, there were no Dizzy Dennis episodes, and I caught my balance, as the need for the Porcelain Throne arrived.

wdp02LeftWD 0.0.30Bacci I got the stick and hobbled to the wetroom. The evacuation was a bit more of a struggle this morning, and messier. Cleaning up after the session, I managed to stub the toe again against the seat-riser’s metal leg. (Oy-Yoy-Yoy!) Washed and off to the kitchen.

WD 0.0.30B Kettle on and took the medications. Realising I had missed last nights dosages, so just added one Warfarin to the morning’s intake. Made the cuppa, and had an astounding wee-wee, a CMOUSTSTBOWV (Catching-Me-Out-Unwilling-Slow-To-Start-Then-Blasting-Out-With-Venom), it almost made me feel dizzy and drop the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency-Bucket)!

I got on the computer, set things up. Then went on the WordPress Reader for a much-needed catchup session. The nex wee-wee was not long in coming, a BOBSL (Blasting-Out-But-Short-Lived) version.

Then made a start on this blog up to here, and got around to updating yesterday’s post.

WD 0.0.30B I began updating the Friday blog. About an hour or so, and two more wee-wees, both of the ELDOP (Extra-Long-Drawn-Out-Persistent) mode; I again needed to visit the Throne Room! As I hobbled to the wet room, the urgency became suddenly higher, I am so embarrassed to say so, but I did not make it in time! And yet, only liquid seemed to escape? I got very nearly seated as the evacuation proper started! And it might have been a lot again and softish, but the losing liquid convinced me to make an appointment to see the Doctor. So, I washed, threw the dressing gown in the laundry bag, and changed into fresh PPs. Funny how when you’re on your own, and something disturbing and shamefaced-making happens, how you still feel the redness in your cheeks coming on!  (Almost Whimpering now!)

wdp02LeftWD 0.0.30Bacci As I was exiting the wet room, I caught the clothes airer, and it tipped over, sending the trousers on it flying, and landing with almost perfect precision, on my stubbed toe! Bloody hell! What next, I asked myself. DDD (Depression-Deranged-Daftness) Mode Defcon level to Two! The EQ was worrying silent and inactive about these things this morning!

Back to the updating process. In a negativistic, defeatist, melancholic mood. I got the Friday post finished, eventually. Not without needing another two ELDOP wee-wees, and the innards I believe, brewing up for another evacuation!

I then went on the TFZer Facebook, for another catching up session. By-gum; that took me ages. Better get the ablutions done now, so I can catch the bus to town, in the hope of the store having some Potato cakes left on sale. Fingers crossed, I’ll be reet-miffed if they don’t have any. Hehe!

6Sat02aThings might not go so good today, oh, I’ve already said that sorry. It’s just that I had to have three wee-wees while doing the ablutions! There were far fewer dropsies, however. The razor, the showerhead and the body-spray can, which was a little encouraging! And the legs looked in better form, not a lot, mind, Oh, yes! Arthur Itis is definitely a lot easier this morning. As for clopidogrel, lumps, bruises, scars and blood papsules on the legs, they had also calmed down? It’s confusing innit?

6Sat03I dressed, made a brew and checked on the Saturday bus L9 times, only four L9’s today. 10:32 the one to town, and I have limited time with it arriving in the City at 11:02, and the next one home is at 12:02hrs. Just an hour to go to Tesco for the puff pastry fingers, and the Bargain shop in search of the Potato Cakes!

Time to get things and self ready for the trip. Which didn’t take too long, but the time spent grubbing around, and double-checking things delayed me, and I ended up having to hasten to the bus stop! Humph! This did not stop me stopping to chinwag with Pete for a minute or so, in the Winwood Court Social Room as I passed through. Many residents were there, for the Saturday cooked breakfast. Mo, John (Herbert) and others, along with Pete (I may have got his name wrong, grand chap). Out to the bus stop and had a natter again until the bus arrived. Struggled a bit with the Arthur Itis knees that started to flair up en route.

6Sat03aI gt off of the bus last as is usual, and photographed Lynne and Welsh William as they shot away, as did all the others, very wise of them, considering my unstable walking with the three-wheeler guide. I’d have kept my distance too, to avoid being caught with the trolley wheels. Giggle!

6Sat04I walked through the Vic Centre (Mall) to the Tesco store. Where I was pleased to find some Puff Pastry fingers, and a bottle of handwash liquid. £5.30 less, I hobbled out and onto Milton Street. Where this ignorant slob, git and animal 6Sat05of a Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist nearly had me over! Further along, this L-plated scooter rider seems to have cured his parking problems, by parking on the pavement near the taxi rank?

WD 0.0.30B Oy-yoy-yoy! There were three young men, druggies or alcoholics I think, judging by their appearance, goggle-eyed, threatening behaviour, and lack of ethics as they were asking folks, or rather demanding money from them. The tallest of the three came to me and muttered something, that was incoherent and put his hand out, palm upwards. I suggested he goes forth and multiply! (Although I condensed to two-words!) This was not bravado or courage. It was my disgust in their comportment. The moment I realised what I said, I nearly wee’d myself! Haha! He leaned down closer to me, gave a blink of disbelief, and just walked away, to join his fellow erks as the turned into a hotel car park. The female Intu security officer from came and asked if I was alright. It then dawned on me as I looked around, that the yobboes were being shadowed by a group of the Security people. She told me to take care and chased after the other officers who had followed the trio of twits into the car park. Interestingly, I can’t recall seeing a single proper or imitation police officer anywhere on my walk around the City today? Although there may be some in the photographs, I took, and there were many made today.

I crossed over the road and called in the Little Waitrose store to get a pack of their £2 Kenyan peas. Which I did, but they had gone up to £2.09 today. Still, if they taste as good as Tuesday’s, they will be acceptable to me. I love ’em!

Out, and down the road to the Bargain Store. Where I had luck again, in getting the things I wanted to. A packet of Italian flakey pastry swirls and several packs of the Bangladeshi made potato biscuits. The trolley bag was now filled-up to its limited 6Sat05acapacity.

Paid-up and outside, where I took this ‘moody-shot’ on Milton Street. Not bad at all, I think? The hands were not shaking too bad at all now. But the famously (to me) moody Arthur Itis was growing more of a hindrance as the day went on. I limped down to Upper Parliament Street, where I took a people filled shot of Clumber Street. Then crossed over the pelican lights, and took a closer shot of the Nottinghamian shoppers, alcoholics, illegal immigrants, students, house-breakers, mobile-using, gang members, druggies, knife-carrying, spitting, nicotine addicts, beggars, muggers, and shoplifting citizenry.

6Sat18a

6Sat09I walked along Upper Parliament Street, to the Queen Street bus stop. Certain, that after checking earlier this morning on the web, that the next bus goes out at 12:05hrs.

WD 0.0.30B But I had got it wrong again! The next bus isn’t until 13:05! Well over an hour to wait. I could have caught a 40 bus in twenty-minute time, but the thought of crossing the road when I get off on the hill and bend in the road put me off that idea. The knees and danger of crossing over Mapperley Rise determined I would have a walk around town on the flat and take some piccies instead. Then catch the 13:05hrs L9 home.

6Sat12I started my slow, steady, no-rush, time-killing hobble into the Slab Square.

The atmosphere I felt around me, was one of fear, suspicion and trepidation. The EQ guided me in thinking this, I don’t know why though? I opted to pay a visit to the Poundland Shop.

6Sat11As I made my way along Long Row, I spotted the MOD Pizza palace, where trade seemed about dead as a dodo, again. This place can’t last much longer, surely!

I pressed on, casualty sauntering and with the trolley doing its own thing as the leg started to lose its nerve contact again. I got to the Poundland store and hobbled around at my leisure. I ended up buying: Wholemeal sliced cobs, Pringles, mini stilton cheddars, cocktail sausages, honey-roast almonds and ready-made BLT sarnies. After paying for them at the self-serve checkout, I spent more time trying to sort out and get everything into the carrier and trolley bag, than I spent shopping! The result was a wobbly to control trolley. He-He!

I had a hobble around the Slab Square and took some more photographs.

6Sat10Then up Queen Street to the L9 bus stop.

From where I took a snap of another ignorant, law-breaking, uncaring, smarmy,  nasty,  young Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist, weaving his way through the pedestrians on his way up Queen Street.

The bus arrived, and I ensconced myself in the corner side-saddle seat. For about ten bus stops, I was the only passenger, but the bus soon filled-up with folks, and by the time we got back to the flat, it was well filled, with many Winwoodonian’s too. I struggled off the bus, the Arthur Itis knees no better.

6Sat17I walked back through Winchester Court along the link passage to the big Winwood Court lounge. Where it looked all abandoned at first.

But around the corner on the left, I spotted a lady and Big John (Herbert), starting a big jigsaw puzzle. We exchanged greetings, and I carried on, due to a sudden need for a wee-wee. As I did my best to hurry along, I realised that I had gone all that time while I was out, without needing to go, amazing! Baffling, mind?

The rest of the trip up to the flat, is a blur, as desperation turned almost into a panic – Would I make it to the WC in time!

And, Holly Mackerel, it was close-call! It was an ELPJL (Extra-Long-Powerful-Jet-Like) wee-wee that actually tired me out taking it!

Weakened, tired and weary again (which is not unusual at this time of day for the old scrote). I was not up to doing the hand washing, that’ll have to wait. Washed and stripped off, into the jammies, and got the nosh prepared.

6Sat18Which didn’t take me long. Warmed up the last of the cheesy potatoes, made twp sarnie cobs, opened the ready-made BLY sarnies and added a ready-cooked chicken thigh. A Limoncello dessert and orange juice.

Got settled in the Xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working recliner £300, c1968, second-hand, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty recliner, TV on, and started to feast on the meal.

WDPleft05WD 0.0.30B Turning on the sleep-inducing TV, I realise now, far too late, might not have been such a good idea! Oh, no! I fell asleep while eating my nosh. Waking an hour or so later, to find the food distributed between my stomach and legs, the arms of the recliner, the chair the legs were on, and the carpet! It looked more like the meal had exploded rather than the tray just slipping off the stomach! I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. So, I laughed! At first…

WDPright05WD 0.0.30B I roused myself (much angering Arthur Itis) and began to sort out the mess. During which, the need for a wee-wee arrived. I was making my way to the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency Bucket) and gave my toe a stubbing on the corner of the Ottoman. I managed to avoid shouting out loud, but inwardly cursed. (You know, things like, flipping heck and Oh bother!)

WDPleft05WD 0.0.30B The wee-wee was another one of the ELPJL (Extra-Long-Powerful-Jet-Like) mode. I had a job hanging on to the bucket! Boy, it was seemingly endless, dragged out affair. Fagged me out too!

WDPright05WD 0.0.30B Getting back to the clearing up the meal-mess, I trod on what was once a buttered tomato cob, and went over, via the Ottoman on my back! Knocking over the flat airer and clothes on it, which landed on my face and head! There was no question as to laughing or crying this time! Humph! I had to crawl to the walking stick and use the cabinet to assist me in getting my lumbering flobby-body back up again off of the floor. Arthur Itis was really pissed-off with me now!

WDPleft05WD 0.0.30B All the bending to pick up the detritus spread all over, took me ages. And then Back-Pain-Brenda joined in with Arthur Itis in giving me a lot of pain. I had to fetch some spray to clear up the tomato seeds and juice stains. Then getting back up again was even more difficult than last time! I did consider using the alarm wristlet to call for assistance but decided against it. Imagine someone calling and seeing the state I had got myself into! Too embarrassing! However, I now had room to follow the physio advice on getting up, so I rolled to the chair, and got up piecemeal, using the cushion part, then the arms of the seat, and managed to rise again. A bit like a Walrus, without the tusks. Hehehe!

Then I needed a wash-up and another change of clothing! I was fed-up. I was in agony. Now I had even more handwashing to do in the morning! I was pissed-off, too!

WDP 03Getting back to sleep was prevented for an eon it seemed, by the mind going over the farcical situation I found myself in, repeatedly.

Boohoo!

00:30hrs: I woke, again in need of a wee-wee. Disentangled my blubbery body from the Xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working recliner
£300, c1968, second-hand, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty recliner. Made use of the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency Bucket) for a PWWDIB (Pathetic-Weak, Why-Did-I-Bother) mode wee-wee.

WD 70.0.0. WD 70.0.0. Acc I took the bucket into the kitchen to clean and sanitise it, only to find that there was no hot water coming from the tap (faucet). The water heater had gone down again! Grumph! So did it using boiled water from the kettle. Not comfortable with the Peripheral Neuralgia making the finger-tips loose sense of touch, and of course, I burnt myself without knowing it once more, until I saw it, then the brain got the message from the nerves, and the pain began! I must get someone to ring for me and inform Nottingham City Homes.

No hot water, no handwashing. Shame, handwashing every morning is part of the accepted physiotherapy and was doing me alright, I think, healthwise. How I’m going to shower and shave, I don’t know. Defcon Three Adopted! Fretting a bit!

I got the updating of the Sunday post finished and posted off. Then I made a start on some graphics needed on CorelDraw, in between the odd RWPS (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying) wee-wee.

WDPright02WD 70.0.0. As I stripped for the ablutions, I noticed that I had grown some more wounds, (which seems to alter per diem!) on the chest/belly this time) near the heart op scar. To join with the new spider veins, itches, cuts, lumps, blood papsules, blotches, scars, bruises, stubbed toes, spots, abrasions, boils, abscesses, Clopidogrel-outbreaks, eruptions and Rheumatoid Arthur Itis’s misshaped knees.

1Mon19

GC capThe water in the shower was not warm enough to use in the sink, but the hot water from the handbasin sink, was a little more lukewarm, so I had a stand-up wash. Only two dropsies, the toothbrush and a razor. I had to fetch hot water to shave with from the kettle, but luckily I didn’t have any Dizzy Dennis moments, shakes or involuntary Hitler salutes or unwanted Neuropathic Schuhplattler dancing.

I took some black bags to the chute on the way out. I met Olive in the lift, she was on her way to use the new laundry room in Winwood Court. We nattered as we walked along, and I offered my farewells as she went into the washroom. Lovely to see her.

I met Pole-dancer and Warden Obergruppenfùhreress Deana in the Winwood lobby area. I mentioned the lack of hot water. She said she would phone them later, and let me know. I mentioned Josie’s heater not coming warm. She said they will sometimes take 2-3 days to heat up. Also in the lobby, was Roy. In the big room was Malcolm and Welsh William. As we chatted, Angela came through on her way to the bus stop. We all joined her on the hobble (well, Malcolm and Roy are not old enough by far to hobble, so they sped ahead!) to the bus stop. Anklesnappers they are. Hehehe!

1Mon02I had a change of mind and returned to the flat, so I could tell Josie about the heaters and catch the next bus instead. On the way back to the apartment, the rain was a little more substantial and then stopped altogether.

I pushed the green auto-release button on the fire-door exit out to the seated area and had to shove the door open, to take this picture.

It was a good job I did go back because when I rang Josie’s door chimes, I just caught her getting ready to go out. I explained what I was told by Night Club Dancer and Scharfhreress Warden Deana, about the heaters that can take three days to warm up! It seemed to take a little weight off of her shoulders, and she looked a bit more cheered up. I felt good at being able to assist someone else.

I update this a blog a bit. Sister Jane rang me.

Pete had sent me some photographs from his visit to Goose Fair. For me to put on this blog, along with threats of my being knocked about, my being decapitated, and having Little Inchy chopped off; if I failed to publish them. These threats didn’t scare me! I just happened to think they were decent enough to show… Ahem!

Hang on; “Goose Fair? Spending my money that he nicked and didn’t return, no doubt! – Humph! Grumph and Clapperstoitall!” Hehe!

He gave me an idea what to I might do with one of the photos when I get the time. A good one too! I’ll get it done!

1Mon20

I put away the computer, as I had left it a little late gossiping with Jane, and didn’t want to miss this bus. I got all ready and shot off… well, limped at a decent wobble, to catch the bus.

A damned good chinwag was had with the others at the bus stop. Paul (I think it was) fell asleep on the bus en route. It did me no end of good, seeing someone else nodding off on the bus, instead of me doing it! Hahaha!

1Mon05The original plan was to call at Tesco to get some more seaweed nibbles. Across the road and halfway to the store, and realised I had come on the late bus! So I turned around and out onto Upper Parliament Street. I watched as the Nottinghamian’s crossed over the pelican lights with the Red-man sign lit! On the green man, I nipped over and down Clumber Street.

1Mon06 The citizenry did not look to be in a good mood this morning. Some hangdog expressions, scowling, dirty-looks and threatening-stares in my direction.

Most people don’t like to be photographed in Nottingham. I suppose, considering the number of illegal immigrants, drug dealers, knife-carrying gang members, shoplifters, muggers, beggars, burglars, car thieves, child-support defaulters etc. we have locally, and the 12% increase in violent crime, it’s perfectly understandable. Hehe!

1Mon07I got to the end of the road and onto High Street, and walked through the Exchange Arcade. It is a sad walk nowadays. So many closed retailers, so few customers about. On the right, is the new Exchange Barbers. One of the highest-rated according to the Nottingham Post. Even they only had one customer in the shop. And they are reasonably quoted prices: Gents cuts from £14, Students from £12, Boys under 16 from £10. OAP’s from £7, Beard trimming £5. Additional Services: Skin fade £2 (?), Skin fade with foils £3.50 (?), Beards £3.50 and Cut-throat razor £2  (Is that for a shave?). They cater to the younger bloke, I think.

A unit on the other side of the arcade is a unit currently being offered for rent at… £6250 per calendar month! God, how many haircuts and shaves will be needed just to cover the 1Mon09rent? Not to mention rates, taxes, staff wages, insurance etc. Even if they picked the pockets of each customer! Hehe! I wished them all the best!

I left the arcade, and walked down to South Parade, and took this shot on the left, down Exchange Walk. Still no smiles to been seen.

1Mon13Towards Queen Street corner, another dangerous, bonkers, antisocial, speeding and weaving through people, Pavement Cyclist tearing about!

He was, I think, a Deliveroo food bloke.

1Mon15One more ignorant Nottinghammian Pavement Cyclist passed me by as I neared the Council House again, on my way around. I could have taken so may more cyclist shots, but there were too many to keep up with!

1Mon14aI spotted a rare, few and far between, seldom located in real life, infrequently sighted, unfamiliar, thin on the ground, unexpected, eye-opening and momentously-surprising site! A Police Officer on foot, in Nottingham! It didn’t bother him that the do-do of a Pavement Cyclist nearly ran into him. For he was walking with 1Mon12gusto, to someone who had collapsed on Long Row.

An ambulance arrived, and moments later, I think a defibrillator or ventilator was being used on the gentleman. He had already been wrapped in a foil blanket, and within minutes they were loading the sick patient into the 1Mon16ambulance. I hope he or she will be okay. This put me on a downer, and I made my way up Queen Street, to the bus stop. It was getting nippy out there, and the bus was a little late arriving.

But the driver, possibly a relative of Stirling 1Mon16aMoss, soon caught up with the time-table.

For a while, I was the only passenger on the bus. Later on, Cyndy and Margaret got on the bus. And I made the faux pas of the highest order, with asking Margaret how Pete was. He passed away, two-weeks ago. I was dumbfounded that I had not been informed. I was feeling so bad now, and I am not sure if I even said I was sorry to hear it. Shaken up! I must have said something because Margaret said a note had been posted on the board. I was somewhat withdrawn after that. I do not do funerals as a rule but would have gone to Petes. He was such a grand chap. CIDP I think got him in the end. I hope the new warden feels guilty, after not checking up on his health correctly a few weeks ago.

I was morose, as I made my way to the warden’s office to see what was what with the no-hot-water situation. Deana had not rung earlier, too busy, but rang straight away. After an inordinately long time getting through, she spoke with someone. Result: They may get here tonight, so I have to stay awake until late to listen for the door chime if it goes off. However, if not, they may come tomorrow afternoon or night. This is going to be a strain on me. I’ve been up since 12:30hrs, as I write this it is 17:20hrs, it is already two hours beyond my usual had-down time. And, I have to stay up until 22:00hrs in case the plumber arrives tonight. In the morning, I’ve to get ready and catch the 0725hrs bus to the After Stroke Physio torture… I mean, exercise class. Until around 13:00hrs, and stay awake and fit enough to do the drilling. This is not going to turn out well! My EQ tells me!

1Mon18I thanked Deana and got myself back to Woodthorpe Court. A mess in the lift foyer area.

The water from the hot tap was not completely cold. Washing and shaving in the morning might be messy, having to use the saucepan and kettles to get washing and shaving water. If the shower water is hot, I can perhaps use that to get reasonably warm water?

I was all twisted thinking-wise and confused now. Pete and the water farce, oh, dear.

I tried to concentrate on updating this post.

I spent five hours doing it and was fighting what I thought was a losing battle, n trying to stay awake. The door had been left open, in case I do not off and if anyone comes. I couldn’t get a wash, dare not make a meal. Was terrified of falling asleep! Dare not put the TV on, without it had subtitles, and I could watch it without the headphones on and still stand a chance of hearing the door chime.. if it goes off! Will it? Won’t it?

1Mon21The rain was stopping outside again.

As if I wasn’t already struggling to get enough sleep. I even began to feel sorry for myself. Hehehe! I don’t get many lucky breaks, do I? I’m not blessed with good fortune! It’s not easy being a lifelong accident-prone, cursed, hapless, luckless and anathematised idiot!

I can make a baguette, a German Ham baguette with tomatoes, a Dagwood style with a soft drink – but will I nod-off eating it?

I really have no self-assurance, self-confidence, nerve, or self-assurance arising from an appreciation of my own abilities or qualities. Then again, that’s not surprising, as I have no skills or qualities. Or have I? No, I give up! I’ll get the sourdough in the oven, make a nosh, sit down and find some rubbish on the TV to watch that has subtitles on it, and just do my best not to fall asleep! The complete opposite to what I’ve been doing every night for weeks that is trying to get to sleep and failing… Shurrup Inchcock! Yer going bonkers here! You do know this? (Yes!) Okay!

1Mon31Made the nosh, and ate it, fighting off the desire and need for a kip!

It was tasty, all the same. Flavour: 7.2/10.

I purposely used an old oven tray, to avoid any washing up. (Cunning that!)

I couldn’t do any handwashing, so the clothes pile up!

The breathing was getting a little difficult now. I  succumbed to the land of nod, somewhere around 21:00hrs. After my being up and about for 21 hours!

A frustrating day of mental mayhem and wretchedness-ridden day.

I don’t handle pressure, worries, failure, criticism, and being spoken down to very well nowadays.

May all my troubles, and strifes, go forth and multiply!

03:55hrs: Woke up, and almost like a robot, out of the second-hand, £300, c1968, rusty, not-working-again-today thanks to Brother-in-Law Pete damaging it, while he was flat-sitting, when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet four-months later), recliner. Had a wee-wee, but could not find the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency Bucket), I don’t know why, but I could not find it at all! Nae bothers to me, I seemed to be in a very laid back state? I poddled to the wet-room, and needn’t have worried more about what came out, or instead didn’t. It was of a PWWDIB (Pathetic-Weak-Why-Did-I-Bother) mode.

To the kitchen and moved the hand-washed last night, long-sleeved shirt onto the airer. Then I took my medications. Made a brew. And got the computer booted up. All these actions were done in a very matter-of-fact way, and no thought-storms or worries bothered me! Somehow this made me worry.

I did the updating of the Wednesday post. So quickly, I kept thinking I must have missed something, surely. Maybe I did, but haven’t worked out what it is yet? Odds are this is what happened. Haha!4Thu02

When I made a mug of tea. It had got light, and I drew back the curtains.

WDPright02WD 100.20.0 I moved the stepladders back inside from the balcony. Because opening the curtains, more of the hooks fell off the top rail. Oy Vey! It took me ages and many brave actions up on the step-ladder to get the hooks put back on the rail. But still no hassle or bother to me. (Have I been taking something I ought not to have taken?) My unflustered, unworried, unnatural mood continues!

WDPleft02WD 100.20.0 4Thu05Then to my amazement and flabergastation, I noticed that the newly made-up three-wheel-guide that I’d left out there yesterday with the stepladders, had moved to the right end of the balcony! Tight up against the right side? Is this possible? I thought? Then the worrying, fretting, nervousness, and the uncomfortable neurasthenia kicked-off. (It had to come!) I pondered on what could have caused this. Ghosts, Aliens, or giant Boll-Weevils? Hehe! Then, I remembered the falling bit of concrete or cement that I spotted on the balcony yesterday!

3Wed12a

The joke I put in yesterdays dairy about the crumbling balcony, isn’t so funny now. Hahaha!

The whining and droning noises were still all around. But, someone starting the drilling and banging (Fire Sprinkler fitting?) in the flat nearby, took off the hassle of the ever-present humming noise.

4Thu04I got the ablutions sorted next. With stunning results… are you ready? Here goes; Only two dropsies! The battle with the sock glide was won, without pain or injury! And, the sink water was flowing away much easier! The pins I thought were looking a bit betterer today, too! Smug Mode Engaged! Jim-dandy!

The delightfully appealing Phlebotomy Nurse arrived and soon had me sorted out, and the blood was taken. (And cheered up a little, her attendance always cheers me up, even when she tells me off. Hehe!) I was too late to catch the 09:30 bus to town. So, I titivated around a bit. Then got some computer checking on the updates done and corrected, computer off, and readied the things for the outing to the City Centre. I think a World Market is on in Nottingham’s Slab Square; I might get around it and take some photographicalisations.

I set off, dropping the black bags down the waste chute, the knees giving me agony, (Two 19-hour plus days and not getting out, has annoyed the knees. Hahaha!), down in the lift, and along the link-passage into Winwood Court, and to the Obersturmfhuress’s and Catwalk Models Wardens Julie and Deana’s interrogation and holding cells office, where Julie was with a gang of builders. I just walked into the middle of the huddle and disturbed them, handing out the nibble bag. Then, out to the bus stop on Chestnut Way.

A super chinwagging session, with a lot of laughter, sarcasm and mild insults flowing to and fro. Great fun! The L9 to town arrived first, and I mounted with some other tenants and got the crossword book out en route.

4Thu07aI got off at the terminus on Queen Street, and poddled down to the Slab Square and Council House. There was a ‘Spend Your Money’ market on. Foreign foods, knick-knackery stalls, etcetera available for me to wander through taking photographs, later on, after the urgent job of overspending on things unneeded at the 4Thu07Poundland shop, which I visited first thing.

I noticed a Your Bus pulling out, bound for a roundabout route to Derby. I felt a little sad, that I have not been to Derby on that bus, since having the stroke, and determined to try and get out again sometime.

In the Poundland Store, I did the usual buying too much. I arrived at the self-serve tills with a right load. Pork Farms pork pie (2), More drain unblocker, bleach, Gold bars, Poptastic crisps for the nibble bag, Dettol disinfectant, Almonds and Cashew nuts as a self-treat, and a BLT ready-made sandwich. Enough to have to use the heavy-duty carrier and fill the trolley bag.

WDPright02WD 100.20.0 I paid up, and as I was leaving the store, Dizzy Dennis attacked, and I had to stop for ten-minutes to regain my equilibrium. I was left feeling so weary and tired afterwards, it bothered me. So, against the wishes of my RAI (Rheumatoid Arthur Itis) knees, I foolishly had a sit down on one of the benches outside for a short time. Oh, getting up again was a heck of bother and discomfort, Tsk!

4Thu06But up I did get, and painfully moved over to South Parade and into the Slab Square for a photograph session.

Walking was not easy, RIA and a few more mini-dizzies saw to that for me. Humph, and thanks for that!

I made my way into the Market Place, and nervously got hobbling along the lines of stalls to see what was on offer.  Various take-way food stalls, finnimbrun, Wine stalls, foreign beers stalls, and the regular alcohol stand for Nottingham’s bibacious addicts:

4Thu13This Police Car and another one, were patrolling through the crowds all the time I was there?

I wish I knew why. Terrorists? Escaped prisoners? Meal selecting officers? It must be important to let two vehicles and four officers out knocking over shoppers, surely? Hehe!

1Mon02 - CopyI later had a look to see if I could find any reason on the web.

I couldn’t but did find this snippet: Old Market ‘Scare’ (instead of Square) will be returning to Nottingham as Slab Square’s next big event – and there’s going to be a terrifying new attraction. Halloween?

4Thu14I had a walk around the outside of the Council House and took this snap from High Street up towards Upper Parliament Street, though Clumber Street. Showing the gay, abandoned, merry, happy smiles of my fellow Nottinghamian’s as they go from shop to shop on their shoplifting and benefit claiming outings. Hehe! Sorry, I couldn’t resist it!

WDPright02WD 100.20.0 I limped down Long Row, up Queen Street, and to the L9 bus stop. I started to fade, flaked-out, succumbed to the sudden fatigue, while waiting for the bus. No more dizzies, though, just weltschmerz, all-in, and unbelievably exhausted! Concentration dissipated, interest flagged, and nothing mattered more than my desire for sleep. So much so, that on the bus home, I fell asleep several times, and was lucky enough to wake up at Winwood Heights bus stop, as it went around the island and I nearly fell off of the precarious side-saddle seat! Else I may well have missed it, and ended up in Bestwood! Still, I could have swiped my pass again and stayed on for the return journey. But, would I have fallen asleep again and ended up back in town. Hehehe! Oh dear! Tsk!

4Thu15I can’t really recall getting from the bus to the flat.

I took the medications. Handwashing was ignored. Got the meal ready, an all-cold affair, I dare not have risked any cooking, and falling asleep again!

I think I enjoyed the meal, though. Found a scribbled FR 8/10 on the notepad later. I assume it was for Flavour-Rating 8/10.

WDPright02WD 100.20.0 Then, the phone rang out. It was Tamsin from the Falls Team. She had arranged for a chap to call on me, regarding the wheeler guide and they may have one to swap the current one with, that might be of a more stable- design for me. Initially, the date given me for the gentleman to visit me, was next Thursday, but not until 15:00hrs. I explained about this being a little late in the day for me, and she kindly looked up the next free date and booked it in when I agreed and thanked her graciously. This would be for Friday 11th October, at 09:30hrs. I wrote it down on the pad, to remind me to add it to the calendar in the morning. How kind of Tasmin!

I managed to get the washing up done.

WDPright02WD 100.20.0 Then just as got down in the grotty recliner. The landline rang and flashed again! I struggled up and got to the phone in time before it stopped. It was the Doctor’s surgery, with the INR results and new dosages for me.  Mon 2, every other day 1½. (So, the dubious-looking to me pill-splitter should get some use this week, Hehe!) The next date for an INR Warfarin blood test will be for 3rd October, and she will inform the Phlebotomy HQ for me. I thanked her, and considered suicide… but decided instead to try and get some sleep…Please! Hahaha! I added the date and time to the list on the notepad.

WDPright02WD 100.20.0 I got down again, in the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged while he was stealing my valuables when I was in hospital, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, but not tonight recliner, I nodded off within a few minutes. But soon woke with a jump. Wondering what day it was, where I was, who I was, and why! Unfortunately, this repeated itself, many times, and getting to sleep proper, took me hours. So much for catching up on my sleep, then. Grumble-Sodit-Blast!

A most irritating feeling of ‘Feduppedness’ festered!

Tsk!

2Tue04

01:40hrs: As I stirred into imitation life this morning, two things vied for my attention. The first being as I checked the legs for signs of last night tumble I took to the floor, via the Ottoman, and onto the electricity extension box and cables, was how amazingly little damage had been caused! A slight bruising was all that stood out. Smug Mode Adopted! Second, this meant I would, or should be little bothered at the After-Stroke physio torture session!

I extracted my cumbersome body from the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, second-hand, c1968, cringingly being coloured, rickety recliner, and off to the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency Bucket) for a wee-wee. I think I did this was more out of habit, than any actual need to use the bucket. The so-called wee-wee was of the PWWDIB (Pathetic-Weak-Why-Did-I-Bother) mode.

2Tue03Off to the kitchen and got the handwash things hung to dry.

Took a photo of the morning view.

Got the kettle on, took the medications; including last nights that I had missed, Tsk! Made the brew, and got on with the urgent job of updating yesterday’s blog. I did not want to be late for the bus later.

I pressed on with much needed to do computerisationalistical work. I’d not been at it for long when the summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived.

2Tue01WD 200.0.0 The pins (legs) didn’t look at all right, to me. They had swapped fluid retention from the left to the right one, the skin was even more salid and pale than ever! Hang on, salid? Is that the word I meant? When I got back to the computer, I looked it up: Nope, wrong word, but I can’t remember what it was I meant to type? Ah, well, back to the wet room!

The evacuation was extremely long (literally), and a time-consuming exercise. But not painful and no ensanguining. The WC system coped with the flushing, but the water rose a good bit while doing so! Afterwards, I took the photo and diligently cleaned the bowl. Then washed the dandies. And the cistern tank was still filling up with water? A problem here, methinks!

2Tue05WD 200.0.0 I had another search for yesterday’s missing fodder picture, and blow-me-down, there it was, where it should have been earlier, in the picture folder? Baked beans, cold beef pastie (Someone forgot to put the oven on!), super tomato sliced Dutch tomatoes, and some Asda (Walmart), bacon flavoured fries. Highly delectable! – Apart from the cold pie! Tsk!

2Tue02WD 200.0.0 Then, to add to the mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination! I found this photo on the left, of the hallway. Why I took it, leaves me bewildered! I cannot recall or imagine any reason for shooting it at all!

Finally, I got the post finished and sent off, and had to rush to get the ablutions done; to give myself time to get to the bus stop in time for the 40 bus! Into the wet room, and remembered not to use the shower this early.

WD 200.0.0 The dropsies were far fewer than yesterday but were still too many for my liking. Razors, toothbrush, flannel a few times, and the sock-glide, but it missed my toes, feet, and legs today. Hehehe! I got the medicationalisationing sorted and sprayed the anti-smell stuff over me.

WD 200.0.0 As I was dressing, Dizzy Dennis paid me a visit. A nasty one. Not as bad as last night’s, and I didn’t fall-over. But it was severe enough for me to consider not going out to the Physio session. I pondered on what to do. My aboulomania was tested to the full. After a while struggling with the sock-glide daily contest and losing again – I decided I would go, not wanting to let them down after they were kind enough to invite me in the first place. I must remember that there is no meeting next week, the staff are on holiday. And later on, I must phone the surgery (If I can get through!) to ask for an appointment to see Dr Vindla and tell her of these dizzies and tumbles I’m suddenly started having with unwelcome regularity.

I got the black bags taken to the waste chute on the way out.

As I got in the lift, a chap from the 2nd floor, I’d not seen him before, decent enough pleasant sort of chap – had done an Inchcock Whoopsiedangleplop! He’d forgot to take something, and wanted to go back up after he’d got down to the ground floor. He must have back in the elevator, as I pressed for it, and it took him up to the 12th. We went down to the 2nd, and I said I’d send it back up for him. I hadn’t noticed that the other lift was Out-of-Action. So comforting to know someone else has bad-luck and owns a memory like I do; of questionable reliability! Bless him!

I took the route into Winwood Court, going through the highly decorated, picturesque, appliqué, pleasing on the eye, handsomely adorned, artistically-presented, bedizened, 2Tue06festooned with furnishings, garnished, glitzed-up, ornamental, welcoming, resplendent, sumptuous, link passage corridor. A smidge of sarcasm there? Hehe! But only in fun, this common, bare approach is right up my street!

2Tue07I poddled along to the Winwood Court foyer, and let myself out onto Chestnut Way, and walked to the bus stop on Winchester Street.

I was feeling alright as I hobbled along, hoping 2Tue08that the second-hand, bought from the Charity Shop for £2 wristwatch, with its £10 replacement strap, and £10.99 new battery, was showing the right time. I feared a repeat of last Tuesday, of my missing the bus! I got to the bus stop and checked with the electronic timetable…

WD 200.0.0 What the heck had I done! I felt so sure that when I check the times of the 40 buses, it showed 0727hrs. Yet the sign told me it was due in 18 minutes! Or was I getting myself in a muddle again, had the falls and dizzies sent me dipsy? Haha! But I know I was so tired when I looked it up. Ah, well, a little wait won’t do me any harm. It was a bit nippy, but the sky told me it would soon warm up. The bus arrived, and I was the only passenger on it. I got seated in a side-saddle seat, as usual.

WD 200.0.0 When we got on Wells Road, we picked up at every stop. Suddenly there were about 45 other passengers. Most of them were school-kids, not the nicest of people. I had to move the three-wheeler to let one sit down, and the bus became cram-packed, with about a dozen or more folk standing, sometimes on me! Humph! When the bus arrived in town, I purposely got off last, to avoid being damaged by the stampeding hoards getting off! Haha!

2Tue09WD 200.0.0 I made my way to the Slab Square, avoiding the many Pavement Cyclists around this morning.

I poddled over the square and to the Poundland Shop.  Where I bought unneeded, unwanted, far too many other purchases. What a schlemiel!2Tue10 I got: A long-dated medium pork Farms pork pie, drain unblocker, nibbles, for the hand-out bag, Cheeslets, Golf biscuits, and cheddars. A packet of twelve individual mini-biscuit packs, for the tea-break at the physio session. Dettol antiseptic disinfectant, and two ready-made BLT sarnies for my nosh later. The sweet lady who helped me as she did the Tuesday before, came over and put the things through for me. And she mentioned my looking very white! Bless her for her help.

2Tue10aThen hobbled, with the bags all too filled, to the Victoria Centre Shopping Centre (Mall),  and called in Tesco, to buy, a packet of the Puff Pastry fingers, a box of Vienna fingers for Josie, and for myself, a bag of the addictive and oh, so flavourful seaweed crispies. I had a ponder about the shelves but found nothing that appealed to me.

WD 200.0.0 I got to the checkout and bought another big bag, so I could spread the weight of the things bought, on the trolley handles. I paid the lady, moved away from the customers behind and started to reorganise the trolley bag and carrier. I just toppled backwards, without cause or reason? And by good fortune, my back hit the next checkout, which stung a bit, and I avoided going over. For a few moments, I thought I was having another stroke! A kind lady came to me, and told me how ashen I looked, and asked if I was alright. She insisted I take a seat on the bench for a few minutes. I did feel a bit groggy and vague, but much better within minutes. The lady, who had been keeping her eye on me, approached to make sure it was safe for me to walk, and asked if I wanted an ambulance calling. I thanked her profusely, and assured her I felt much better now, which I did!

WD 200.0.0 But the incident did worry me a bit.

  • That falling on the floor unexpectedly and not being able to get back up – saved by the visit of the Nottingham City Homes girls.
  • Then last night, I was taking off the trews to get myself settled down, and as I bent forward to place them on the rack… just at that moment, Dizzy Dennis visited, and I toppled over. Falling against the Ottoman and the chair. How I got my hands out in front of me in time to avoid further injury and damage, amazed me afterwards.
  • The sharp increase over the last few days, of my dropping things?
  • Earlier this morning: As I was dressing, Dizzy Dennis paid me a visit. A nasty one. Not as bad as last night’s, and I didn’t go over. But it was severe enough for me to consider not going out to the Physio session. Now, I realise I shouldn’t have gone. Tsk!
  • The utter confusion with the bus time table?
  • The Poundland lady and Tesco customer worried about me.
  • Then the Tesco nasty turn, for I don’t know what caused it, I keep putting them down as dizzies, but like this one, as others like last light, they happened instantly?
  • Later in the day, the Chaucer Street dizzy spell was not good!

I wanted to try and get the graphics done tomorrow, but it might be best if I call at the Doctors, and try to get an urgent appointment? My EQ is speaking to me, and it’s not good!

2Tue11Then, out into the daylight and cold sunshine. A lot more Nottinghamians and folks of just about every nationality there is were about now. The vast majority were students. The street sleepers, shoplifters and muggers were few in number, it’s still a little early for them to be up and about.

WD 200.0.0 I got to Goldsmith Street, and as I turned left onto Chaucer Street, I had a close as I ever have had without being hit, entanglement with two Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists. But said nothing to them, and I had a visit from Dizzy Dennis again! I leant on the church wall to look casual to passers-by, while I regained my equilibrium. But it was not so bad, and after only five minutes or so, I went to the entrance and joined what turned out to be, very few other Stroke victims.

WD 200.0.0 The 16 or so folks from last week, were now only 12, and that included a new lady! But things were not right with me. Both Jennifer and Lucy, when talking to me, were not getting through to me, they indicated. But I was determined to do the exercises and had the nous not to over-commit myself. I did the first round of them. I must have looked poorly because they let me do them sat down! Which made the knee and the piles worse! Tsk! The next round, was much harder to do, and I soon felt myself being drained of energy, and the pain in the knees was a right handicap.

WD 200.0.0 The relaxation tape session was perhaps the worst thing for me. We had to do whatever the voice said, as some peaceful music played in the background. But I couldn’t hear what was being said. So I kept opening an eye to see what the others were doing. Hehe!

WD 200.0.0 Before the next round of workouts, both trainers came and had a look at my knee and leg. When the movements began, the leg started one of its Neuropathic Schuhplattler dances. And they both came and pressed down hard to stop the legs activities; unfortunately for me, they put their combined weight on the knee, to stop it! Oh, the agony!

The break time came around, and a young lady from Western Energy gave us a talk, on signing up for their service. She gave us all a planned, well-rehearsed sales-pitch, but still, she needed to refer to her notes while selling the service. If we signed up today, a free goodie-bag was ours! I can’t remember it all, but a wind-up torch and other stuff were in the freebie-pouch. If we signed today or later,  we would get information about power-cuts as a priority. A free electricity swap supplier value scan. I did not want to get involved in what was obviously a sales pitch. But a few of the gang signed up straight away.

WD 200.0.0 Unfortunately, I fell asleep during the ladies talk. Oh, dearie me! She said; “Am I boring you?” I replied, “Obviously!” I got a look from Jennifer, that should really have struck me dead, instantly!

All the sitting had made the RAI (Rheumatoid Arthur Itis) knee worse, and my concentration was nil! I decided rather bravely, to leave early. The Stroke ladies didn’t seem to happy about this, but I just had to go, I could really not face any more banal exercises. I explained, and said my farewells to the others, only to be ignored. Purposely, in time for me to walk to Queen Street, in time for catching the L9 bus.

2Tue13WD 200.0.0 A cuttingly worded “If you are really that bad, go and see your Doctor!” from Jennifer, ensured it was a miserable, downbeat, in pain both physical and now mentally Inchcock that departed. It didn’t help my spirits when a pavement cyclist came out of an alley and nearly hit into me. But at least he got onto the tram track road straight away afterwards.

2Tue14 I arrived at the bus stop, with eight minutes to spare.

A lady, at the stop, I knew by sight, who, I think lived on Morris Road, had a laugh and natter with me.

She’ll never know how much that cheered me up!

2Tue15Back at the flats, I got off last, as is the norm, and made my ay to the Winwood Court entrance. I walked through the linking-corridor and into the Woodthorpe Court elevator lobby.

The same lift was still out of service. Not that it mattered, I didn’t see a soul indoors on the way home from the bus stop.

2Tue16I got in the flat, to the tune of drilling, banging and humming from above. I assumed that the workers were busy doing the Fire Alarm Sprinkler installation work.

I took a picture from the light & view-blocking new kitchen window, of Chestnut Way, below.

Called in the wet room, and paid my second visit of the day, to the Porcelain Throne. Good Heavens! Where is it all coming from? I was really pleased when the plumbing coped with the enormity of things! Phew!

2Tue17It was lovely and warm in the flat. I stripped off, all bar the PPs, and got the handwashing done and hung. Put the buys away. Made a brew, got the medications and got on the computer to update this diary.

WD 200.0.0 Believe it not, but to get up to here, it took me six-and-a-half hours! Yep, it is already two hours beyond my usual head-down time! And I’ve only just noticed. (I got a bit over-involved? Haha!) But with all the hassle needing careful wording, and all the photos, it was bound to take me a while to get done. Gonna be another late night, for the old-timer!

I got the nosh started. Mashed the potato in with Leicester red cheese, butter, salt and balsamic vinegar, and got it into the oven. The rest of the meal was easy-peasy! BLT read-made sarnies, and lots of slicer-sliced extra tomatoes!

I checked on the handwashing, and moved it around a bit, so it got dried quicker, I hope.

WD 200.0.0 I got the mixed cheesy spud ready to go in the oven… This would be the oven than I forgot to put on to warm up! It’s highly possible that the Purpose of My Life is Only to Serve as a Warning to Others!

2Tue21So I did a couple of Thoughts graphics. Then got the pots in the oven. Tsk!

* Oh, the ‘Riddle for Today’ answer: A Candle.

The fodder was okay. I’ve had worse, and I’ve done better. But being so terribly late in the day for me, my tiredness affected my appreciation, I think. A 7/10 rating.

The evening sky looked grand, and although it does not show on the distance shot, I zoomed in to get the plane trail pictured! I might use both photos as ‘Thoughts of the Day’ backgrounds later.

2Tue20

5Fri01As worn-out as I was, and the late hour, a silly stubborn streak made me get the handwashing done, including the oven-mitts. They should be dried by mid-Novemberish. Hehehe!

It’s been a worrying day for this old codger. I really must get to the Doctors tomorrow, to book an appointment about the scary increase in the tumbling and dizzies department. I’ll see the chemist as well, to get the Flu jab sorted.

After many false starts and waking up again, I eventually achieved the bliss of getting to sleep!

Inchcockski: Tue 10 Sept 19: After Stroke Physio session.

2019 Sept 10

2019 Sept 10

Tuesday 10th September 2019

Welsh: Dydd Mawrth 10fed Medi 2019

03:00hrs: Stirred with the mind in a state of ‘Thought and worries’ blasting away. The need for a wee-wee arose, and so did I, from the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged ,while he was flat-sitting, when I was in hospital, as he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, I still haven’t got them back yet four-months later, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. The half-filled GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket) was utilised for an astonishingly violent CMOUSTSTBO (catching-me-out-unwilling-slow-to-start-then-blasting-out) evacuation.

WD 0.0.128A Gingerly, I hobbled to the wet room with the bucket for cleaning and sanitising, and the Porcelain Throne was needed. Oh, flipping ‘eck! Back to the constipational-mode this morning. Plenty of silent, oohs, arghs, and weak cries of agony! But at least it was not messy when it finally arrived. Haha!

WD 0.0.128A I moved the handwashing, took the medications, and realised I had not taken the evening ones! The worry about getting to the After-Stroke session weighed on my mind. This was not going to be a good day, methinks?

So, I got on as quickly as possible to update the Monday post and got it sent off.

Made a start on this one, and it was time to get the ablutions done. So, off to the wetroom for a stand-up session, it was too early to use the noisy shower.

I thought I’d got everything checked and in the pockets or bags, and set out.

WD 0.0.128A As I walked along Chestnut Way, I stopped to take photos of the new Electric point on the new car park spaces outside Winwood Court. Boing! No card in the camera! This proved to be more of a handicap than I thought at the time!

WD 0.0.128A I hurried on to the bus stop on Winchester Street, sorting out the £2.30 bus fare as I went. As I approached the bus stop with two minutes to spare, the bus came up the hill, and I missed it! Humph!

Annoyed with myself, I walked down into Sherwood and caught a 58 bus into town. Straight into Tesco in Victoria Centre (Mall), and asked a chap if they sold SD cards “Aisle Seven!” I am glad to report that on arriving on the section, I found the SD cards, that were a reasonable price, and bought one. I had a search around for the Flaky Fingers and bought several packets. I got a bottle of handwashing liquid and went to the checkout to pay for the goods.

2Tue04I asked, and the lady was kind enough to open the deadly-to-me, blister pack and removed the card for me. I thanked her and departed, takin this first photo on the new card. Of the early morning mall, peopleless. Haha!

I had the time to wander around and visited the M&S Foodhall, taking some photographs en route.

2Tue10aOn the way to the M&S Store, this bit of Nottinghamian Street Art, from the Council, seemed to have seen better days. The unfortunate thing was well-bashed about!

Finding the M&S lifts at the back in the corner, I ventured down and bought some dangerously overloaded with sugar and fat, naughty finger cakes, and a ready-made Lamb Moussaka. And a box of lemon teacakes, to share with the After-Stroke gang.

Then out and to the Poundland Store, with the trolley full already. I paid at the self-serve checkout, with the help of a kind lady assistant, and filled the spare carrier to capacity! I left with a Pork Farms pork pie, drain unblocker, Dettol antiseptic disinfectant, a BLT ready-made sarnie, honeydew coated cashew nuts, and a pack of jerk-beef to chew on.

I had an amble around taking shots at random.

2Tue14I made my way to the Torture Session, taking this shot of the frontage of the Trent University Main Building, on Goldsmith Street, the tram lines in evidence.

I had a walk up Chaucer Street, with it being a road I have not been up for over 65 years. I think about 90% of it was a maze of new buildings, offices, college property, private car parks mostly. But I found near the top, what I think were the old NHS Children’s Eye Hospital place. I came to a block of old buildings. I recall dear Mater taking me there as a youngster, and learning that I was colour-blind. Ah, the memories! Someone told Mummy-dear that she should not be smoking in the surgery. She picked me up, and we left, never to return! Many years later, I applied for a job as Guardsman on British Railways and went to Derby Station for a medical. Bit of a disappointment, they discovered I was colour blind on red shades! Ah, I just love it when memories flood back!

The Torture for Pleasure – Keep Smiling – Calaboose Session: Hehe! I returned to the present day and hobbled back down the hill to the Church Hall and the After-Stroke donjon. We looked a little thin on the ground I thought, but it’s still early days yet. Compared to last week’s first session of about eighteen of us, we were today about only twelve, and that included the two ‘Specialist’ trainers. My ‘partner’ did not arrive, and all of us were split into threes, apart from Precious and myself. The whole thing went by quicker but actually took longer today. The series of exercises, with just me and Precious, both being about the same handicap-wise, was more enjoyable. We chatted and managed a clandestine laugh now and then. Despite our both being a little on the deaf side.

When it came to the Rest & Relax tape to be played, I went into ‘shut-off mode’. And it looked like Precious did the same. The lady said it suits some and not others. It turned out afterwards that we merry two of Precious and I couldn’t hear a word of the tape anyway. I mentioned this. Adding that this is no bother to me, listening to someone reading on a tape, somehow does not butter the bread for me.

On the break, the gang enjoyed the chocolate lemon flavoured tea cakes, anyway. Being lectured by someone also reading from a guide is hard to take seriously.

I got more out of today’s session, and the slight increase in the exercises did me no harm. I love the “If you can’t or struggle to do anything, do not do it!” Being followed with “Come on, get those arms and legs higher!”

The bowling sessions were almost a repeat of last weeks. There was my ball again, in the closest position, and the final person bowling in every game, knocked my ball away! Hahaha! Just a bit of fun, mind, and to me, a laugh!

We finished, just in time for me to miss the bus home. I mentioned this in a jocular fashion, and was informed in a Sergeant Majorly, rhadamanthine way “Well, you only have an hour to wait!” I’ll keep my wit to myself in future.

I gave my farewells to everyone near me, as we broke up. I got two replies more than last week, anyway. Three! But people were arriving to give lifts to the others, so their concentration would have been on that.

2Tue15I went in the hope that the L9 bus might be late, to the bus stop, but it had gone, of course, as I anticipated.

The next 40 bus wasn’t due for twenty minutes or so.

2Tue16I had a walk down to the Slab Square. And a party of ankle-snappers were being arranged on some visit or other.

I suppose it is with me not having any kiddywinks, but a warm glow comes over me when I see them. I think, with how trends have been and are going, these will make up the next generation of druggies, alcoholics, street sleepers, street beggars, car thieves, muggers etcetera? Maybe, if the country is still going, Members of Parliament? Haha!

I went back up Queen Street and caught the 40 bus. The side-saddle seats on these are at least a little more comfortable. I dropped off the bus, on the Winchester Street, and went 2Tue17up the hill a tad, to where the central island is to cross over.

Down the hill, despite the protests of the three-wheeler-trolley guide.

I walked the length of Chestnut Way, a bit of a struggle to get by the wrongly parked cars, though, I must say.

Stopping at the new electric car charging point, outside the new Winwood Extra Care Court, to try and take a photo again, this time with an SD card in the camera! Tsk! My sense of humour told me to put the three-wheeler in one shot. Hahaha! There are two bays dedicated to this facility, one was in use by a petrol-driven car. I think maybe overall, there are fewer parking spaces since the upgrading, but I might be wrong… it has been known any times before!

2Tue20

I got in the foyer, and up in the lift. What a mess greeted me!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I got inside, feeling better than I ought to, considering the physio session. I was annoyed by all of the bit of fluff, plastic etc. in the hallway, all being outside my door?

The landline flashed its light and rang out, but stopped before I could get to it.

I stripped and got the handwashing done and hung on the airer. Pondering as I did this, over tomorrows tasks, as I got some triple fired chips in the oven and set the timer. Wednesday is the day for the much-needed and delayed visit to the Sherwood Health Centre Podiatrist. A terrible time for the appointment though, 13:50hrs! Which will mean, I’ll be drained and incapable of doing anything when I get back home. I may fall asleep in the waiting room like I did last time. That wasn’t appreciated by the staff at all, as I remember.

2Tue25A simple nosh was prepared. Mostly tomatoes. I added all of the giant orange tomato on the buttered baguette and the BLT sarnie. Put some of the brown mini Sicilian toms halved on the plate. Chopped some of the freshly cooked beetroot as well.

A Limoncello dessert to follow. And got down to eat and enjoy it…

WD 0.0.128A The smell of the burning chips in the oven made me faffle-about and get to them ASAP. All was okay, though. I saved a few of them and added them to the plate. Oy Yey!

The nosh was a well-worthy 8.5/10 flavour-rating!

I got down in the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, recliner, and was soon off into the much welcome land-of-nod!

I woke later, in need of a wee-wee. As I dismounted the reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner, the landline went again. I got to it on time, though. It was NCH’s Nichola. She needed to do an interview with me and checked to see if I would be available on Thursday at around 10:00hrs. I concurred and wrote it down on the pad straight away, to add to the calendar in the morning.

I took the belated SGSS (Short-Gently-Sprinkling-Spraying) wee-wee, and returned to the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged while he was flat-sitting, when I was in hospital, as he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, I still haven’t got them back yet four-months later, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. Concerned that getting back to sleep might prove problematical after being disturbed by the wee-wee and phone call.

But… Zzzz!

Hawaiian: Pōʻalua 19 ʻAukake 2019

1Mon08

WD 150.0.0 23:30hrs. I shot awake, nearly falling off of the chair! I haven’t the foggiest idea why or what caused this to happen. Was it a noise? Had I been dreaming a nightmare? Most annoying that I cannot recall any nocturnal hallucinations this time. Was I, or had I suffered one of my Brain-Storms? I just had to get up to have an investigation into what had instigated this semi-panic, the reason. Which in itself brought a bit of interest and even amusement to me.

WD 150.0.0 I got up quickly enough, caught my balance without any bother, and kicked the flamming GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket) over! My heart sank, and my temper bourgeoned! I was so angry with myself! But, the need to find out what had caused my rude-awaking was more critical at that time. I stood the bucket back up, and in the semi-darkness, I stepped over where I assumed the contents had landed and spread…

WD 150.0.0a And I trod unexpectedly, on a slipper, and slid forward landing on my left knee! The struggle getting back up was almost as absurd, too! Unthinkingly I grabbed hold of the swivel-chair to pull myself upright – and, as the chair, well, swivelled, I ended up back on the floor! Spreadeagled on my back, I was sure I must be lying in the spilt out contents of the bucket. But no! It seems that the GPWWB had not been utilised all night! Genuine laughter was had! Partly encouraged, by my good luck in the bucket not being used, something that does not happen usually! A feeling came to me that things were not so bad, after all. Hehehe!

WD 150.0.0 After putting myself in recovery-mode, I had a walk around to check on things. I put the hearing aids in, and I could hear definite susurruses, humming sort of noise in the hallway. Not that it would have been the cause of the disturbed awakening, though. But I could not trace the origin of it. Nor did I locate any other reason. Tsk!

With my newly aching knee and back, I hobbled to the kitchen. Stopping, for a wee-wee en route. Back to the SGSS (Short-Gently-Sprinkling-Spraying) type.

1Mon9I put the kettle on, and then took a photographicalisation of the pins, that were looking good. No bruising on the knee as far as I could see, either. Although it seemed a little more warped again this morning.

Made the brew, and took the medications. Leaving out the Senna and Movicol until after I have had a visit to the Porcelain Throne later, and can work out if there will be any need, for them to be used. It’s sod’s law nowadays, the evacuation may be liquified or rock-solid, there doesn’t seem to be any in-between options lately! I took a picture out of the thick-framed, multi-paned new window, with glass that cannot be reached to be cleaned.

WD 150.0.0 I took the brew with me to the computer and checked to make sure that no liquids were on the carpet. All dry, Phew! But, oh dear, signs of nocturnal nibbling were rife! An empty cheesy curl packet, a couple of sherbert sweets on the recliner, and some suspicious-looking, but unidentifiable crumbs on the tray on the Ottoman! Guilty-Mode-Rubber-Stamped!

I decided to try and take some intentionally taken eerie views of the flat, before it got light. If they come out alright, I might use them as a Thoughts background later.

Flat

I got on with updating the Sunday blog. It took such a long time. Thanks to guess-who?

Virg 150.0.0

I got it all done and sent off eventually. (Thank you very much indeed Mr [Not fit for purpose], but multi-millionaire Fries!)

I’m tired already, Hehehe! But have to get more templates done in advance. As tomorrow I have two appointments. 07:30hrs, INR and Kidney blood tests. Then I must catch a bus to the City Hospital for the estimated 1>1½ hour, After-Stroke Assessment with Doctor S K Raghunathan and his team. So, I will have no time to get much else done. Busy-busy!

Got the page top graphics and Thoughts done, and made a start on this blog.

With time running short, I got the ablutions tended to. Only one dropsy this morning, the toothbrush. Although, there were many close shaves with the razors.

Got the waste bags readied, and took them with me on the way out, to drop down the chute. Took the recycling jars out and in the bin on the front, and came back in to walk through the new passage to the Winwood Court site. Time for me to pop out to have a sit on the benches outside through a door in the passageway, and have a go at the crossword puzzles, I thought, but no! The green exit button might be on a timer, but it would not work and open the door for me. Mary was going through as well, and I joined her for a natter on the way to the Winwood Courts. Plenty of Woodthorpe Residents in their, Angela and Roy, Mary, Doris and Christine, and Pete joined us. We made our way out through the Winchester Court door and to the bus stop. Quiet a gang amassed, and I managed to hear a little of their gossiping. Much laughter flowed, as well.

1Mon12Had an entirely failed go the crossword book en route! Arriving in town, and walked down Queen Street to the most untidy and messy looking slab square.

I took a shot of the Red’s True Barbecue window on the way down the hill. Very South Americanish layout inside. Bare wood furniture, dust and dirt in view, the place seemed to be on different levels and all fiddly. Actually, I liked what I saw. But, it would not be possible for me to treat myself, as access would be impossible. Shame, but at least it’ll save me money. Hehehe!

1Mon13I was hobbling well, no Arthur Itis, no Anne Gyna and no Duodenal Donald bothering me at all. I felt a little lonely. Haha! Through the square and got to the Poundland store on Wheeler Gate. The Nottingham populace seems to be split between those in high spirits and others looking mightily-depressed and gloomy this morning.

The shopping therapy in the shop ensured I kept up this new-found, erm… what’s the word? Semi-contentment, growing from within. And me feeling this, is rare and bloodcurdlingly nerve-racking, almost traumatic! The EQ told me something was coming my way, that was going to be good news! For me, a professional shlimazel and euphobia sufferer, the reception was mixed.

However, I was so proud of myself, when I arrived at the fridge and resisted getting any Pork Farms pork pies that were there, tempting me as they lay innocently, but appetisingly temping on the shelves! (Actually, I did put one in the basket, but returned it as I fought back the tears!) I ended up getting two ready-made sarnies, some Twiglets, waste bags, bleach, Poptastic crisps, Dettol and a bag of salted chocolate pretzels.

1Mon14I paid at the self-serve till. Put the light stuff in a carrier and hung it on the three-wheeler, the rest in the pathetically tiny shop-bag on the trolley, and set out on m way to photograph some parts of Nottingham City Centre not done before, along with some spot ones.

1Mon14aI started with a picture of St Peter’s Church in the distance and Wheeler Gate. The sun was coming out and then disappearing, odd sort of weather.

I took a view up Exchange Walk towards the slab square. Not many folks about.

1Mon15I did a 180° turnaround and took a photographicalisation upwards of St Peter’s tower and clock. Being a shaded area, it did not come out too well, but a smidge moody I thought?

After taking the shot, I went a bit giddy for a few seconds, but it didn’t last long. Tsk!

I then walked up St Peter’s Gate, then had a hobble up through the newishly refurbished Flying Horse shopping arcade. Many of the posh shops, art galleries etc. were now closed-down. It was a depressing, sad limp through this so-called high-class arcade. The first empty unit, gone out of business, shop as I entered, was for rent, asking £42,000 per annum! Then there will be rates, electricity etc. poor devils!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

1Mon21The Arcade looked nice and clean. Then again, not many people walked on it! This would have done better in Chelsea or somewhere like that, a death knell, in Nottingham for the traders!

The alterable weather made me think it was going to rain, but it didn’t. The Nottinghamians were still in short supply.

1Mon22On Cheapside, another closed down store. There were many more, of course. I searched Google to see if I could find the rent being demanded. Wait for it… £75,000 per annum! I make that £1,442 per week! No wonder the retailers are going bankrupt! The end is nigh!

I then did a bit of photographing from the back of the Council House, on High Street and long Row.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I limped up Queen Street and took a shot of Upper Parliament Street, then hobbled back down to the L9 bus stop. No residents got on the bus en route at all!

Soon back at the flats, and I was feeling pretty good for some reason. Mary dropped off the other bus, and we walked back together to Woofthorpe Court. We tried the swipe of door to the seats outside, but it was still not responding to the fob. Mary and I had a natter, got into the lift, Mary off on the first floor, farewells exchanged, and I went up to the twelfth, and into the flat. I knocked on Josie’s door, but no answer.

Knowing that no one was due to call, I had a wash and stripped off. (Good job there are no CCTV in the flat, Hehe!) As I was getting the nosh prepared, the Intercom sprang into life. Luckily I saw it light up, as I was in the hallway at the time. It was Charlene, the beautiful phlebotomy nurse. I was so surprised, with the Sherringham Surgery appointment for blood tests in the morning!

I got the dressing gown on quickly, and Charene came up, and I told her about the appointments. She said she had been told to take extra blood for testing today. She could see I was a little baffled and kindly rang the surgery, to advise them and get advice for me. So, there is no need for my visiting them in the morning at all! Nice of them to inform me! Humph!

I thanked the nurse, and off she flew, like an angel! When she had gone. I realised what the EQ message (something was coming my way, that was going to be good news), I got in the Poundland shop was all about! Now I will some time to do today’s blog finishing, before going to the City Hospital appointment. Great!

1Mon31I stripped off again and finished preparing the nosh.

I managed to eat a little less tonight. Well, I think I did? All cold stuff. Ready-made sarnies from the Poundland Shop, some of the Extra 2Tue01Strong Red Fox cheese from Morrisons; that is actually bland and almost tasteless! The last two mini pork pies and apple slices, beetroot and a few of the tangy Poptastic crisps.

I washed the pots etcetera, and got the hand-washing done, but forgot to do the socks. Tsk!

Got snuggled down in the £300 second-hand, grotty beige-coloured, c1968, rusty, rickety, recliner to watch a Rumpole of the Bailey on TV… Zzzz!
