Monday 18th November 2019
Corsican: Luni 18 Novembre 2019

01:05hrs: I woke, immediately cognizant of how tired and drained I felt. At first, I thought I must have nodded off for a few minutes and woken, but no! I’d had my head down and been in the land of nod for about six hours or more! (I’d fallen asleep watching the England v Kosova football match) Almost unheard of before for me, but clinomania began to develop. Gawd-blimey, I felt so drained and tuckered tired!
As I was climbing out of the £300 second-hand, horrendously-beige-coloured, c1968, sometimes working, but not today recliner, the xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged. While he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later). I felt the over-eager desire for the Porcelain Throne developing from within. It was so urgent, it may not have been eschatological, but still needed my best of physical efforts to get to the wet room in time.

The evacuation started before I had settled on the Throne. Luckily I managed to desticate the situation just in time to avoid an embarrassing predicament. A very similar to the last three days, almost getting familiar sounds and sensations followed: Pain, ‘Kerplunk’ followed my some final odds and ends splashing, and an airing of a relief receptive “Ahhh!” But I was not going to get caught out again, I remained seated and waited for the sudden trickling of the wee-wee to arrive, late as has been its habit recently. It did and was even longer but weaker than of late. I was on the verge of reaching for the crossword book when it stopped. Cleaning things up after the session, I came across a real worry, the bleeding was thick, deep red and a fair dollop of it. This was not from Harold’s Haemorrhoids, far too dark a colour. I will have to find time to get to see the quack about this. All cleaned up.
I went to the kitchen and moved some of last night’s handwashing about from hangers to airers.
Got the kettle on, made a brew and took the medications. I still keep thinking I’ve missed some off since they stopped so many of the tablets. This reminded me of the drop-dead gorgeous Polish phlebotomy nurse calling this morning, and, correspondingly, I cheered
up a bit at the thought.
Thinking of appointments, I got onto the computer and checked the Google Calendar to see what’s coming. Mmm, a busy three days, no wonder I can’t get anything done is it? Tsk!
It would take too long to record all of the following wee-wees, suffice to say that they were frequent and all of the RWPS (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying) style. Humph!
I got the Sunday post completed and sent off. Then went on the WordPress Reader, then got caught up with the TFZer Facebooking.

I went to make another brew of tea. All went well until I moved the mus tp ner the fridge to get the milk out, and the failed neurotransmitters caused me to lose all sense of contact and I dropped the milk on the floor, some milk escaped and ended up on the tiles! I believe I may have said something to the tune of “Oh, fancy that!” At least I chose the Arla milk carton. If I’d picked the glass sterilised milk bottle, I’d have been in a right pickle having to clean-up the glass. Not that clearing up the Arla lactose-free milk was a doddle. It didn’t half make the floor sticky! I ended up having to get down on my knees and use the cleaning rag and copious amounts of kitchen towels to get it sorted. Naturally, the getting back up again started the Arthur Itis knees and Back-Pain Brenda off! Defcon level 3 engaged!
Now in a bad mood as well as feeling tired, I made for the computer, to make a start on this blog. But the peripheral Neugalgia was still bothersome on and off. Errors made typing was increasing as was the correctional activity. And my temper and annoyance at the ailments!
My lack of patience, and rattiness, I suppose, made me give up, and (carefully, cautiously) make another brew and watch some YouTube clips. I was getting into a ‘Fed-Up-Mode’!
Josie called and returned the dinner things, saying she enjoyed it and I was spoiling her! Coy-Mode-Engaged!
Off to get the ablutions done:
Success Rating;
- Dropsies: 8 (9 if you include falling off of the sock-glide) Haha!
- Shaving Cuts: 0 ☑
- Got under Shower – left sink with tap running.
Flooded, drain not coping: 1- Sink drain-plug-hole not working. 1
- Sock-Glide-Battle: I lost on points
- Stubbings: Stubbed my toe getting the metal shower chair wiped. 1
It took me over an hour to get the water to drain away, then the water closet failed to work when after I’d taken a wee-wee!
After a considerable about of blind-faith and guessing at it, it worked again! Smug-Mode-Assimilated!
Then, with the partial but doubtful success of my getting the flushing returned, I tackled something that has been nagging at me for weeks – cleaning the electric fire that I cannot afford to use, frontage cleaned. I was so proud after getting looking half-decent!

But could I get back up on my feet again? No! No matter how I tried. Starting with the physio’s advice, tried my own ways, went back to the physio mark two advice… and the day was saved! The intercom went off and it was the super-beautiful Polish phlebotomy nurse. I got to the intercom on my knees and used the stick to press the button to let her in. Using the sides of hallway’s walls, I was determined not to look a fool in front of the oh so delectable delicious nurse, and I was back up on my feet!

The laughed when I told her. The blood was taken with no external bleeding.
She even rang the Sherwood Health Centre for me and made an appointment for me. She’s too good to and for me, and I love it, and her!
She left, I cried, and then pulled myself together, made a brew, took a rather appealing photo of the view of the very almost cold sunshine outside, that did look pretty beautiful all the same.

Then got on with some updating on here, and put the appointment the Angel of Mercy had made for me, onto the Google Calendar.
Then on impulse and partly because I now had none left, I decided to catch the bus into Arnold and get some haemorrhoid cream!
A bit of a rush to get to the bus stop, I briefly called into the ILC’s Independent Living Coordinators for older and vulnerable customers, holding and interrogation office. Who, according to Nottingham City Homes, promote the general wellbeing of tenants in our schemes. They will encourage the development of a supportive environment where social activities are encouraged within the context of respecting individual privacy and promoting independence. Undertaking home visits with our tenants to ensure that the health and wellbeing of residents remain at the forefront of the service area. Possessing experience of managing a diverse workload with conflicting priorities, They have the knowledge and understanding of the needs of older and vulnerable people, providing a primary point of contact for tenants in a given location. They will adopt a collaborative approach in situations where they need to refer and liaise with voluntary agencies and carers, activity coordinators, community organisations, health and social care services, emergency services, stakeholders, as well as colleagues and families of the individuals they are supporting. Good communication skills coupled with an adaptable and proactive approach to continuously improve and develop the service are essential. They have the ability to create and maintain both paper-based and computerised records, where they will accurately update tenant and scheme records, record incidents, log visits and calls, as well as records actions taken. Tact and sensitivity will be shown at all times. As well as knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation, GDPR and safeguarding policy to ensure client safety, maintain personal information and uphold client confidentiality. They will also demonstrate the ability to make accurate and timely decisions, using their own judgement in sometimes complex situations. They will require a flexible approach to working in terms of hours and location. Just thought I’d mention it. Haha! Poor devils!
Out to the L9 stop, and listened and joined in the gossip, moans, niggles, complaints and laughter from the other tenants. Got on the bus and the crossword book out, I didn’t do very well mind.
Dropped off in Arnold, assisted off of the bus by a complete stranger, that was nice! Thanked him, and over the road to the Wilko Store.
Where I got conned by the pricing ticket on the shelves. There was clearly a £1 price sign uner the Germoloid Haemorrhoid cream. I was tickled pink at seeing this amazing price. Especially so cheap, and this being the best cream of them all for Harold’s Haemorrhoid treatment! Put it in the basket, and got a leach and washing-up liquid as well. To the check-out, paid without thinking, and poddled off to get the bus back home.
Walking along High Street to the bus stop, it dawned on me. (I often get dawned-on, you know, Haha!) I’d just paid £4.39 for a 50p washing up liquid, a 49p bleach and the Germoloid cream? So how much was I robbed of for the ticketed as £1 cream! I was miffed about that! But I felt a right gullible fool at the same time. Humph!
The crossword book came out again on the bus. I got an answer in an old puzzle, I go through those I have not finished repeatedly, and getting this one, cheered me a tad. But that was it, no more success… Ah, that could be a title for my Biography? Har-har!
Back at Winwood Heights, and got off of the bus last, another tenant offered to help me off the bus. Kind of him, but I wondered if I was looking over-pale or sickly today. Hehe!
I walked in the cold sunlight to the Winwood Court entrance on Chestnut Walk.
From near the door, I took a photo of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination! With its finger tearing metal window openings (Even a maintenance man, after being warned when he came to inspect the crumbling concrete or cement bits falling from the ceiling of the balcony, still trapped his finger in the clip, it bled, he swore… I remember it well). The only flat having an invasion of Boll-weevils! The new light & view-blocking new windows with their wide sticking out ledges, which have put an end to my being able to look down to see if a fire engine is in attendance or to take photographs straight down. The sink plug that needs unblocker put down it almost, no, every day! The water closet that (I’ve timed it!) takes 15 minutes to refill, and has cigarette burns all over it, inside and out from the previous tenants? The intercom that cannot be heard when anyone calls, not that this is crucial, cause half the time it doesn’t work anyway. The Fire Alarm that I cannot hear activating! The kindly supplied by Nottingham City Homes pillow-shaker fire alarm, that goes off more nights than not, but there is no fire. The heaters, that need a degree in engineering to manipulate… Oh, I am so sorry, I got carried away there!
I turned and took a rather natty-looking as it turned out, I think, snap of part of Winwood, and a distinguished-looking Winchester Court.
One of the surviving trees from the upgrading process added a lovely touch I reckon! I often have a chat with it as I pass by, you know!
As got inside and popped into the Wardens Holding Cells. There were all three ILC’s all together, which is a rarity, so I took a picture of them and handed some nibbles out. Left to right, they are, Julie (Winchester Court), Deana (Woodthorpe Court), New Gal (Winwood Court?)
I was soon off back to flat.
Some mail had been delivered. A PollCard for the lections on 12th December to pick some more robbing, lying, two-faced, obnoxious, uncaring set of politicians to lead the Government again. The voting is taking place in the new big social room, so I’ll have less walking to get to it this year, Haha! And another letter from the Police, cause I had forgotten to reply to their original letter about the Pegasus updating. I must get some help with this.
I got the three items purchased put away, leaving the Germoloid, the expensive Germoloids cream in the wet room. I thought about the nosh for a while as I made a brew and took the medications.
The sky was so bright and very misleading from indoors. Looking out at the admittedly
beautiful sky, it appeared as if it was all warm out there. In reality, when I opened the window to take this photographicalisation on the right, I took it sharpishly, cause the cold coming in through the opening, almost made me jump! Low clouds, I wonder what that means? Rain? No, surely not.
I decided on one of the Roast Vegetable Risotto meal and planned it in fine detail (Oh yes, I was determined to get it right!) I got the tray in the oven cooking, set the timer for 15 minutes, got some caramelised gravy made. Added some cut-up tomatoes, and got it in the pan heating up. The timer rang, and I got the tray out of the kiln, added the sourdough baguette, gravy and tomatoes, mixed it all up, and back into the oven for another 15 minutes on high. Fanny Craddock? Gordon Ramsay? Galloping Gourmet? Huh! Hahaha! But I was not over-confident really and feared this might turn out to be a bit of a disaster. But I am known for my being on the horns of a dilemma, shilly-shallying, iffyness, panicky-moments, nervousness, lacking confidence and hesitancy. Not to mention my hypomnesia, wool-gathering, absentmindedness and moments of puerile-obliviousness. I think that covers it.
I made a bit of a mess serving up the meal, but after smelling and seeing it, I left the cleaning up until later and got on and took the meal on the tray into the front room to feast on.

Argh! Again, (Unbelievable!) I just got sat down, tray on knees and was about to take my first forkful of fodder – And the landline rang and flashed at me! Grumph & Grobble-ackers! It was a call from the Anticoagulation Haemostasis Deep vein Arterial Thromboembolism Clinic, (A mouthful that!) with the new Warfarin doses. Current NR level was down to 1.7, so the new doses will be 2½ today, and 2 every other day. I thanked the lady. I’d taken the med’s early already, so just took another Warfarin straight away.
Then, back to the dining. A veritable, tasty feasting was had! 9/10 for the Taste-Rating!
I got the things washed up from the cooking and did the handwashing. Then settled down to watch an Auf Wiedersehen Series one DVD. I got through the first episode well enough and enjoyed it. During the second one, I drifted off into what I thought was a deep sleep.
But, when I sprang awake a couple of hours later, there were signs of nocturnal nibbling having taken place, all around me. Guilty! Crumbs (Likely from the Mannen lemon wafers), and the odd half-a-peanut here and there! Also, as I moved to get up for a wee-wee, I found a teaspoon, where a teaspoon should not have been! That made my eyes water!
To the wet room, with comparative ease, Arthur Itis was being kind to me, although a ne pain had developed on top of the left foot, a bit of a mystery that one? The wee-wee turned out to be of the URP (Ultra-Resistant-Painful) mode.
I cleaned up nocturnal-nibbling residue from around the recliner and decided to make a brew.
I noticed the red sky on the horizon and took a shot of it.
I made the tea, returned to the TV and turned back the DVD to watch the missed part of the episode… Zzzz! (No DVD, No tea! Hehe!)

Had a good cleaning session and wash up after the evacuation.
As I was taking the mug of tea to the computer desk, I noticed the readings on the Nottingham City Homes supplied for free, monitor thingy, was showing out of sync a smidge. It indicates that the heat is getting too high – well I can’t feel it? Humidity is in just off the green markings on the rankings. It’s cold to me, and the fog may be having an effect on the moisture.
When it was done, I got the mushrooms in the crock-pot. Added some of the Puti vinegar and onion granules. I think I may have put in too much of these, though. Judging by how the picture looks in the dish? But, we’ll see later on when I taste one of them. A big day with cooking, I’ve got Josie’s to do first, and mine later on. I want to get the gals looking right.
I’ve just realised, I think the droning, whining noise from outside, is getting a bit less now? But, maybe with all the coughing and blowing of the nose, what bit of hearing I’ve got left has temporarily been made worse?
Did some updating on the diary, and went to check on the saucepan. All was okay.
I stripped off the clothes and got into the jammies. Shattered! I got the meal prepared, and served up. Into the rickety-recliner and ate the nosh while watching the England v Kosovo match.

for several minutes until things started moving of their own accord – then the pain level rose, but there was no controlling the action. Gritted my teeth, grimaced a bit, and finally a splash-causing ‘Kerplonk-Thunk’, and blessed relief! Phew! Then the cleansing and sanitising and medicating had to be done, off course. Bleeding from Little Ichies fungal lesion, and Harold’s Haemorrhoids! No matter how far I get behind with things today, nor how bad the weather will be, and having to struggle with two-hourly buses, I will have to get out today, and get some more Haemorrhoid cream! We’ll see?
The damned annoying whining, droning noise from outside seemed to be getting even louder now! I went to make another brew. And the imitation Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance was most involuntarily performed, and the Polyneuropathy caused me to drop the walking stick and mug of just made tea! It went over the floor and the tall brush & dustpan, so cleaned up and returned after making another mug of brew, to the computer to make a start on this post.
The ablutions went phenomenally well! One, I say One cut shaving, no damage doing the teggies, a few dropsies as is to be expected with the myasthenia gravis problem being so much worse this morning, no sock-glide injuries and just the one belting of the elbow on the door frame. (I’m getting a little too regular with doing this lately) Smug-Mode-Temprarilty-Adopted!
hope the food comes in time for me to get the L9 bus at 10:32hrs. If not, then so be it, I’ll stay in, or walk down to Sherwood just for the haemorrhoid cream.
Mostly Christmas treats for others. And nibbles for me, including seedless red grapes, savoury bites, chocolate nuts and crisps.
I made a brew of tea, took a picture on the view outside, and updated this post a bit.
I dropped off at the bottom of Hockley and went to the Asian Food store. It’s always best to go there first, cause their aisles are filled with goods and very narrow, I had to keep collapsing the trolley to get through to have a nosey around. Coming out with some crispy seaweed snacks, and what I went there for in the first place, a bottle of the delicious fire-brand strong tasty Marca Pina cooking vinegar. Very nice when added to mushroom, don’t you know.
I paid up, and out onto Upper Parliament Street, where I took this photograph, to the left along the road. Showing the street musician, who attends this spot every weekend it seems, not that it was producing much interest from the passing Nottinghamian shoplifters, yet.
As I turned into Long Row, the first signs of the Christmas Fayre appeared. The famous little helter-skelter, not exciting enough for kids nowadays, was not doing much in the way of trade again.
AT the bottom of King and Queen Streets, the Ice Mountian Slide was busy.
I poddled up Queen Street and onto Parliament Street, and took this picture of the sensibly well-wrapped up Nottinghamian’s going miserably about there Saturday ventures.

The meal turned out superbly. For me anyway, others might not have appreciated it as much as like-wot-I-did. For I had overcooked it a tad, but I caught it in time before anything got burnt, just extremely well done, which was perfect! A taste-rating of 9.2/10 was given! Yummy!

services blues and headlights added to the colourfulness.

Had a bash on WordPress Reader, then onto TFZer Facebooking. The door chime rang out, and the chap from the Physio team had arrived. I’d got it all mixed up in my bonce, I thought the Medicine Team lady was calling today? We went through some questions and answers and I started using the things left for me for physio. It was hard going, and the landline rang and flashed while I was doing the ups & downs. It was Sister Jane. She’d sent me an Email and was just telling me so. I had to ring-off, to get back to the times exercises.
I checked on what Jane had sent me:
Glad to hear that Pete didn’t pass on any radiation poisoning after his scan! And his not glowing in the dark is reassuring! He-He!
I decided against going out, I’ll try eating, and just settling down I reckon, watch somebody call at the door or ring me!
e mushrooms, and all but toppled over! Humph! Good job I was using the four-pronged stick. It suddenly went all dark outside!
With a great deal of care that was not commensurate with how I felt, I got the meal prepared and served up. Took the medications while eating. Per contra, not feeling too good in myself did not stop me from eating all of the noshes on the dish and tray.
The landline burst into hardly-hearable sound, but the red flashing light worked okay. It was my pulchritudinous, highly-desirable, heart-flutter-causing, beautiful angel of a Polish phlebotomy nurse on the line. Informing me that she is due to call on me, Monday, twixt 09:00 > 11:00hrs. The heart warmed at just hearing her voice! I thanked her and got the computer on straight away to put the appointment on the Google calendar. A few medical meetings are coming up.
I got the nosh things in the washing-up bowl and settled in the xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting, when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later), £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, sometimes not, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. With my feet up on the chair, and cramps were attacking the legs and feet, something awful! The dizzies and other ailments were still with me, but they seemed less severe and bothersome for some reason? I reckon that my speaking on the phone with the Angel of Mercy and twinkling passionate eyes had had a good effect on me!

I took the bin in the wet room, sorted and refreshed it, then myself, and went to the kitchen. Where I was pleased with this photographicalisation on the left, that I took. I chose the Night-Landscape option on the choices dial. Rather a moody-outcome that pleased me somewhat. I saved it in 64-bit. Smug-Mode-Engaged!
I only took one Warfarin with the morning doses. Had a good swig of the cough Linctus.
mushroom fungi will sink or take any of the flavours in, I’ll find out tonight. When I add them with some Nutoory tomatoes, which I got ready for slicing later as well. I’m getting very experimentationalistical with food in my old age! I hope this seasoning doesn’t prompt any postprandial problems from the rear or front-end, with the roast vegetable risotto it’s all going into. Haha!
However, regardless of the bleeding and the poor state of the pins, this was not necessarily a bad thing. It took me out of the depression I was slowly falling into, by a strange sort of satisfaction, contentment, that the recent good luck I’d been having, was fading, and the acknowledged, accepted, accustomed state of perpetual-pain and discomfort had returned. I can take this condition, but me having luck and being fortunate is foreign to me. Thus, as I left the room, a smile crept over my face, and then tripped over the four-pronged walking stick. I had to laugh!
I decided to add some of the Natoora, South Korean (Large bank account needing) mushrooms to the normal Irish ones that were already marinating in the pan. A multi-cultural nosh in the offing today. Irish and South Korean mushrooms, cooking in a Hong Kong made saucepan, while the Berkshire Italian style baked roast vegetable risotto, with Taiwan rice cooks in the Spanish-made oven. Sicilian Tiger Plum tomatoes to be added. With Philippines Sukang Puti (Pinakamasarap) vinegar, and Chinese light Soy sauce. Oh, I do hope it turns out okay! I hope to be cooking some rice in the rice-cooker soon.
The ablutions went well. A few dropsies were all I had to put up with, well, a lot of dropsies really. Haha! However, no cut gums, no bleeding from shaving, Little Inchy nor Harold’s Haemorrhoids. The battle with the sock was painless (Almost!), and both sock fittings worked the first time, too! No lumps of finger trapped,
Got in the lift and down to the ground floor, and along the link-passage into the Winwood Court. Doing a bit of chesty-coughing en route. The tickle is back! I took a snap through the window, of the new unused as yet, al-fresco seating area. One day when the warm sun appears, I shall go out, sit on a bench, get the crossword book out, and fall asleep. Hopefully! Haha!
I got to the Winwood foyer and went up the lift to the rooftop lounge/rest area. As the elevator door opened, I was greeted by one of the Dulux dogs that someone had put on a coffee table. It looked so real for a second or two. Haha!
I wandered around and took a picture through the window, of the Woodthorpe Grange Park. By gum, the wind and rain were so vicious out there. The trees were bending and blowing in the vicious gusts of wind.
I opened the automatic push-pad doors and took a photo of Woodthorpe Court, while partially under-cover beneath the eave of the opening.
Then I made a snap of the new rooftop veranda, with the chained-down tables and chairs. This secured them from getting blown away in the high winds. It was not done to prevent people from nicking them! He-He! No wonder with this weather, that there was no one out there. But then, there has never been anyone out there on my visits, yet!
there were out there at the back of the court? Millions there must have been?
I took to his shot of the house opposite the flats that are being upgraded, new roof, an extension built etc. to show Brother-in-Law Pete. He was in the building game for a few years. Until he won the lottery and got left a fortune by an unknown relative, and retired when he turned forty. Don’t suppose I’ll get my money and valuables back now for a while.
Got the nosh served up, and it was a real delight to the taste-buds. Flavour-Rated at 8.8/10. Admitted it looked a right mess, but I ate it from the tray in the bowl-dish and saved a bit on washing up! Haha!

off he went. I put away the stuff that was delivered, not a big job, and took a picture to send to Morrison’s of the goods I’d received. And went on the email to read the order snipped it, and put it on CorelDraw to put a line through the products that had to be taken back. This cost me a lot of time to get done, but I managed it.
It looked clear enough to me, at least.
I got on the computer and Google Mail. But could I find an address for the Morrisons Customer-Service? No! I found a direct link that would not let me add photographs, which I’d hoped would save me a lot of writing.
ff in Sherwood. Hehe!
having to be tackled getting around the store, it is a bit of hard work. However, my desire for their lemon wafers and biscuits gave me the will-power to try again. They had now started to display their fruit and veg outside on the pavement! And the food looked horrible. Withered and unappealing most of it looked. Especially some tomatoes on display, talk about macerated!
Paid the gal, and out and up Mansfield Road! Where I met Welsh William, who told me of another shop closing, a Charity outlet, sadly. So we went in to have a look for any bargains in their Clearance Sale prices. William had left, I nosied at the DVDs, in hopes of finding ‘The Negotiator’ film, but no. Still, at three for a pound, I bought these DVDs, even if I have seen them before (apart from Safe House), at that price.
stumble when the front wheel of the trolley hit gaps and sticking up bits of the paving slabs or slid on the leaves, causing Back-Pain-Brenda to join in with Arthur Itis giving out the pain. Tsk!
Paid the man, who was on his mobile throughout the time serving me, so I could not ask him if he was going to get any Puff Pastry fingers in stock, and I departed out into the oh, so cold sunshine. Still no rain, and the wind seemed to be dropping.
I got in the flat, and after a wee-wee, got the nosh sorted out and served up. I had the chicken sausages with a tin of chopped tomatoes and added some passata to it. An apple, a Pop-Kek lemon cake, and a lemon curd yoghourt to follow. I ate rather too much Milk Roll bread with it, though! But it was delicious, a flavour-rating of 7.5/10!
Got the computer on and sent an email to the Pharmacist. Turned off, and back to the recliner.

I took the medications and a swig of the cough medicine and made a brew, a fine superior brew of the Glengettie Gold tea. I still can’t find anyone selling this anywhere, and am limiting my treats to it, so the bags I have last longer! This reminded me about Ocado not having any for ages, so I got on the computer and checked. Nice Surprise, they now have Glengettie Gold and Thompsons teabags back in stock. So I ordered some along with other favourites that only they sell; Vegetarian ‘SoulFood’ chilli ready meals, lemon bleach 2litres, and so on, oh, and some rice! So, I can now indulge again in the best tea on the market, Glengettie Gold, and second-best Thompson’s, then hopefully, tomorrow evening, I can try the electric rice-cooker with the Chinese sausages at last!
I started doing the updating for the Monday post. With right-hand fingertips, that could sense when they were touching anything! So things went well for once with the typing. This, along with the Clopidogrel and blood-papsules disappearing from the legs, is unnatural and a tad worrying. No messages from the EQ either? Of cause, the Whoopsiedangleploppery continues. All done, as the need for the Porcelain Throne visit arrived.
To the wet room, and would you believe it, although, still a vast amount evacuated, it was painless (Oh yes!), not messy, and no bleeding! I am really getting nervous about all these sudden, unexpected improvements! And, the hot tap water was heating up now! This is just too just much good fortune for a disaster and Whoopsiedangleplop sufferer! I’m expecting death, disaster or some misfortune is in the pipeline! This is so rare, I’m afraid to let myself feel happy or contented about things!
I got stripped off and had a peep at last nights much-improved legs… Oh dear! Not a very good photo as it turned out, in fact, one of my worst ever!
I found this interesting picture on the SD card, I’ve not the foggiest how or why I took it?
In town, I exited the bus last, to avoid being trampled on again. And made my way into the Victoria Shopping Centre and to the other end, calling in Tesco. Got some nibbles for the Stroke Team, tomatoes, and milk roll bread. Leaving by the Milton Street entrance, out into the cold
rain and wind.
the Bargain Store (Previously Pound Stretchers).
The regular young street-beggar was doing a roaring trade, and it was all women who were giving him drug or alcohol monies. This is the bloke I saw shopping in Tesco a couple of weeks ago, buying booze and a pack-a-mac raincoat. He’d got a new mac on today, and his roll-ups looked suspiciously thick. Haha!

The rain began again, as I approached the tram stop.
The bus got well-filled en route, but surprisingly, none of the Winwoodonians got on. I was the only person to get off at Chestnut Walk! I got in sharpishly out of the rain, and into the Winchester Court entrance to get out of the rain. I passed Margaret & Frank on the way in and we swapped ‘Hello’s’.
I set about doing the nosh, for hunger was within me that needed satiating. It took me a fair while, but I got the fodder served up, and grand it looked, too. Pate, chips, gungo beans, fresh garden peas, sliced apple, beetroot and tomatoes. I got the pots to soak in the sink, shot off with the tray and got down in the c1968, second-hand recliner. To feast on the fodder, first chip about to go in my mouth!
Pete chatted on a bit more. (Just to ensure that my chips were fully-cold, I imagine) Then, to allow me to dine on my cold meal, he rang off.
The postman had been. He’d left me junk-mail, leaflets etc. but no actual addressed-to-me mail.

With a sense of unrealism, I made my way back to the kitchen and got the kettle back on, and made a brew, getting the medications out ready. A feeling of vagueness lingered within me. My thoughts were all over the place now, mind-blasts peppering the brain, unanswered questions to the fore… Oh, dearie me!
I tried taking a picture of the view from the unwanted, light & view-blocking, thick-framed new kitchen windows, with the unreachable for old farts panes of glass to be cleaned. I tried the Nightime Panorama option on the Nikon camera this time. Then, I got the medications imbibed and off to the computer to get the updating of Sunday’s post done.
Many hours spent graphicalisationing, during which, first, the delightfully attractive, twinkle-eyed, desirable, breathtakingly sultry-looking, 5’4″, perfectly-bodied, beautiful Polish phlebotomy nurse arrived to take some blood for the INR Warfarin test. The old heart, even if it is plastic and metal, fluttered! We had a natter while she removed the haemoglobin, I handed her some of the Lemon Wafers, she said goodbye and shot off, leaving a Nottingham Pensioner, a tad sad at her going.
Back to the CorelDrawing. An hour or so later, my Iceland food delivery arrived. Items short delivered, monies to be returned to my account within nine-working days… Mmm! Still, seeing the food made my mind up what to have for my early din-dins.
Back to the CorelDrawing. Many, many WSS wee-wees later, and hours later, the time arrived for the nosh to be made. I had a ready-made meal, the Iceland bean & sausage casserole, adding some tomato and bacon cooking sauce part-way through cooking, and was eaten with far too many slices of the Milk Roll bread I’d defrosted. I put the extra sauce into the food, cause there seemed an awful lot of red peppers in it this time, to cool it down a bit. It wasn’t bad at all — flavour rating, 7/10.
at Winwood Heights. I imagine that one day, either a bus will hit a vehicle parked half-on the kerb and blocking room at the buses turning island. Or someone will get knocked over having to walk with their trolley-guides on the road, cause they cannot get by the cars parked on, and already breaking-up the new tarmac pavement. But what else can they do? An accident, injury or death might encourage someone to tackle the issue, or even identify, recognise that it exists? I mean, let’s face it, it is an old people’s prison… erm, complex. Hehe!
I was caught out when I woke up, the late sun, although heatless, had blossomed out, the rain had stopped. The most noticeable thing was the legs had lost nearly all their Clopidgrel, bruises, lumps. welts and blotches! Fair enough, they had started the fluid retentioning again. But it was nice to see them without the blemishes, blood-papsule and ecchymosis scars! It’s really incredulous, inconceivable, how things have changed so suddenly! Mind you, the cramps are still there. Haha!

I got the tea and medications to the computer and started to update the diary.
e won. The shower head was not dropped once! Mind you, I didn’t have a shower, but a stand-up wash. Hahaha! Go on, have a laugh! The toothpaste and brush were handles with a certain dexterity, that has not been present for a long, long time! (Things changed later, Tsk!)
Serious Point, or Fault I’ve found in me after the stroke: When something new arises, that is of concern of any sort, lost item, forgotten arrangement, something breaks down or fails to work, since the stroke, I get fixated on trying to correct, amend or find out why things have happened. Whatever I was doing at the time of realising the worry or problem, fades into oblivion, the new problematical issue, taking over priority in the brain. This often annoys people who are incapable of understanding my situation, as it must seem to them, that I am ignorant! As soon as the new issue is sorted (if it is), I start to panic over the forgotten earlier difficulty or task not being done again. I have mentioned this to the Speech Therapist lady, who said she would try to get me to see someone who might help me. Being aware of this strait causes self-hatred for doing it, but does not offer any solution in itself. Then the depression at my own actions and inabilities arrives.
small rice cooker, from Amazon.
I got Josie’s nosh prepared. Smoked haddock, cheesy-potatoes, tuna, gherkins, beetroot, mushy peas, mushrooms and tomatoes, with a gin & tonic and limoncello dessert. Delivered it to her door, had a quick few words and back to make my dinner. Cheesy potatoes, beetroot, gherkins, tomatoes, smoked haddock, mushy peas, mushrooms… Yes, almost a carbon copy of
Josie’s. I had some fresh orange juice and an apple for afters though.
