My Frustration & Hatred Is Growing!

Excellent 3 for the urine night pouch colouring!

Feet after the little wander around in town yesterday.

Laundry bag return awaited.

I’m not sure why…
I took two photos of the waste bags?

A blurry early morning shot of the car park.

Then two other bad shots of the view ahead.

Got up around 03:30hrs, and the use of the did not arrive until gone 07:00hrs. dominated. Took some cleaning up!
.

Looks like a ghostly seat! I hung the towel over the shower chair and turned on the heater to dry it off. Cunning!
I remembered doing this an hour or two later, and I went to turn off the wet room emersion heater.

The Meridian Domestic lady did not arrive. Hope she was on holiday and not poorly. So I hoovered the hallway. Unfortunately, I my toe on the trolley walker wheel, right against the . This may have had other lesser men cringing and wingeing, but not me. I just laughed it off!

Made an early fine feast of sliced baked potatoes, soy imitation sausages, beetroot & tomatoes, red & yellows. Naturally, no sooner had sat down to watch the TV with the meal tray on my knees, and my taste buds tingling!
14:35hrs: The opticians rang. Can I bring some old spectacle frames in to use in the varifocal spectacles? The one the Carer took for me is too old to get a lens made to fit it?
Back to the meal…
14:48: The Doctor rang to say the Blepha decision will be emailed to me later. Humph!
Back to the meal…
15:00hrs: DVT Anticoagulation rang; the DV vein draining has been cancelled. They will make me another appointment.
Back to the meal…
The potatoes were barely lukewarm by then. How does this happen to me so often? Whatever time I get around to eating, someone will call, or the phone will burst into life.
Still, the nosh deserved an 8.4/10 rating!

Took this slightly better shot of the Chestnut Way car park in front of the flats when I washed the pots up.

I decided to watch some TV again. Huh! Turned it on again, and some sad adverts greeted me.
Kids have to live using underground water.
I noticed my new glasses on top of the cabinet and realised how lucky I am really, compared to some. Then…

The TV went off. A message something about; check your external and internal ariels? It came back on later again.

Oh, getting dark?
Five minutes later…
Another five minutes.

Did the eye treatment. used, then when it had dried, the Gel.

After 18:00hr Carer Benjamin called, and we found we were missing some tablets. I was in a pickle about it, cause it was Atorvastatin, and I had a weirdly strange feeling that Richard mentioned something on Monday to me about it coming later when he kindly fetched the prescriptions for me… but of course with , I’m just not sure. So, none tonight. Benjamin said he would have a look around down in the office for me in case they were in there. Thanked him, and he said he was doing the late call; if the tablets are in the Meridian office, he’d bring them up with him.

I got back on the computer, to find that...

Late Carer Carer arrived. He brought up the missing tablets and issued them with the Peptac; no painkillers were needed. Then attached the night pouch to He also responded to my request for him to hang up the laundry, which was only dressing gowns; bless him.

Turned off this computer, and I got settled in the £300 second-hand shop bought, c1966, moth-eaten, cringingly-beige-coloured, grotty, bedraggled, dilapidated, crumb-containing from my nocturnal nibblings, bug-ridden itch-inspiring, not working recliner in search of sleep. I put the TV on, cause that usually helps me to nod off, when the commercial adverts come on… but only when there is something on I wanted to watch. Hehe!

Evening, All!

The optimum words for describing today’s events:
Shambolic-Failures, Messy, Ignominious & Frustrating!
I can’t think of anything that went as planned?
The trip to town to get some Blepharitis Eye Gel, pads and Eye Spray, was futile! I got the timing of the bus wrong and waited for 36 minutes at the bus stop going. The Nottingham Citizenry in town, were as depressed as I’ve ever seen them. The pavement scooterers and cyclers seemed intent on making me as nervous as possible with the near misses from having my over. Boots, Wilko and even the Poundland shop visited in search of equivalent products failed! No anti-diarrhoea capsules, no Worcester Sauce nibbles, no affordable Germolene or Germoloid. Wilko must be closing down, the y didn’t have any kitchen towels in stock at all! The previously £3.25 Germolene at Boots, was now £6.29 for a 22g tube! It wore me out in B’s, trying see someone to help me with the confusing array of different products for the eyes – I gave up in the end!
On the bright side, I didn’t trip or fall getting onto or off the buses today. Coming home was a close call, mind.
No blogging as such done, so had to get up in the morning at 03:30hrs to get this updated.
Just time to whip in the photos with a few remembered details.
Utter Failure!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

A good start though…
Excellent coloured urine in the night pouch.

Into the kitchenette…
Tried to take a better morning view.

Took this shot of the flea-pit as I gathered the things needed for the trip later into Nottingham.

As Carer Kara say’s the new reading glasses will take some getting used to. She was right!

Had a few hours on the Wednesday blog updating. Eventually getting it finished and posted… but it was hard work with the new glasses and of course…
Gave up and continued with the
Just three . A semi-tumble in the shower, leading a hal-hearted head butting of the left grab bar.

Kara who called earlier did the midday visit, and I turned off the computer. I got the body medicationings done, and I consciously used less olive oil in the ears, Germoloid on the bum, and Germolene on the lesion and papules. My EQ told me I was not going to get any on the trip out. He was right, too!

SET OUT TO BUS STOP TO NOTTINGHAM
I met a resident and chatted with her on the forecourt. She pointed out that Carer Kara was giving me a wave from a high window in Winwood Court. ♥
Got to the bus stop and realised I had a time top wait.
The traffic island was in a bad state.
Looked like someone had pulled up some plants. Tyre marks on the once frass soil. Debris and waste dropped or blown on it.

When I got into the city centre, this is the first photo I took – and unfortunately the last. Despite my thinking I had taken several more, about ten I think of different area, for some reason, and I can’t figure out why, none of them were on SD card in the morning? The when I got back to the flat ones and later were though. A mystery as to what I’d done wrong?
I’ve mentioned the farcical shopping efforts, so will start with my return journey. The thought of my failing to so many things I wanted to, and not being sure if I had bought the right ones of those I did find in Boots, is embarrassing!

After my stubble from the bus (I didn’t go down!)
I made my way slowly to Woodthorpe Court.

Part of Winwood Court.
Paved walking area between courts.
Got inside and made my way up to the flat.
Feeling a little disheartened at the state of the shops, and thought to myself, “Well that was a waste of time!”

Got in the flat, having seen not a single person on my way.
More beautiful puffer clouds on the horizon again.
Something peaceful, relaxing about these?

Got the shoes off, they seem to have gelled to the feet. Hehe!
The pouch had soon filled up again after I emptied it when I got inside the apartment. Come think of it though, I had started guzzling the soda water again, the get the bladder going, as instructed by the medicos.

Aha, at the last of the day(2nd) mug of Glengettie tea!

I got the receipts out of the bag. Boy had I spent a fortune with all the massive price increases at Boots
This little lot for the eyes cost me £64!
I’m not sure that I bought the right Blepha either. This one had SOL on it, the other I’m using from the optician, has GEL?

The meal tasted Grrreat!
Flavour-Rating 9/10!

Much needed after what was for me, a hectic, getting upright and annoyed with things day! I think I must have looked a little mentally and physically battered, cause the care didn’t stay as long as usual… not that I can recall much of the visits.

I nodded off without any problems. Must have slept peacefully for about five hours of bliss… then… started, and knowing that this blog would need updating, I made an early start – and has only been down once up to now!
So I’m glad that I started early (03:30hrs )while the internet was behaving itself for once.
It still took me a lot of mistakes and self-confusion until nearly 12:00hrs to get it done though. Hey-Ho!

I’ll ask the morning caller if they might call the Doctors for me, to ask if I can get some Blepharitis gel for the eyes, And Rear-end medications for .

I still find some pleasure in blogging,
But finding time is so testing & trying,
Tired as I am, there’s little time for sleeping…
With failing.
Work not saved being lost had me exprobrating!
The confusion was not easy extrapolating!.
Getting blogging done was foreboding…
I didn’t start it until mid-Tuesday morning!
had me fulgurating,
I made a WP Prompt, that was time-consuming,
Hope it has some readers outwardly laughing?
This blog will be short on detailing…
But at last, I’m doing it, less so much innervating,
Growing old and ailing is so inturbidating!

INCHIE: Thursday 20th July 2023: Nurses Toying With Me! Hehehe!

Mayhap the oddest day of the week so far.
Unexpectedly Busy? Yes! This blog was not started until Friday.

Being tired after the EENT runabout made me knackered and drained early in the afternoon. But the extra visits were all welcome, all the same.
I faded very early, though; all I wanted and felt needed was sleep.
Fat chance. It can’t be helped. Being a mind-testing set of visits, I had no notes as such to use, and time memory was all I had… Oh, and some earlier-in-the-day photos to prompt me a little. Here goes If Liberty-Global-owned Virgin Media
doesn’t keep going down again. Naturally, it did!

05:00hrs. No night bag attached again, Tsk! The urine in the day pouch was a deep colour. Tummy ache and wind.

Did the waste bags… Carer Chris arrived to sort me.

Computer on…
2 minutes after getting it back on…
Ten minutes after it returned…

Took these kitchen view shots waiting for the internet…
Up in the sky.
Sun coming up from behind.

Carer Kara arrived. And a blessing she was, as she usually is.
She got the bank payment for my Easy-Link debt payment.
£79.00 was put through to the bank and sorted. Emailed Easy-Link to confirm it. No reply yet. Did the eye drops. ♥

Struggled, and it was time-consuming, but I finished the Wednesday blog and posted off to WordPress.

The landline flashed. It was Phlebotomy Nurse Hristina. To tell me she would call tomorrow morning to take the Warfarin INR blood sample for analysis. ♥

The Asda order arrived.
Nibbles
Frozen favourites!
Fresh food treats!
Drinkies to help the bladder
Fridge refilled now

I thought I was doing well on the odeing, then the rush of helpers arrived – Bless Them All!

Two District Nurses arrived. I’d hoped they were going to remove , so that I could have a go at seeing myself after the Finasteride course of tablets had finished. I did not realise that the penicillin tablets had run out, and not the above.
I was hoping to give manual wee-weeing a go, and that I could pass water voluntarily again. With the (hopefully) now-reduced in size Prostate. If the tablets had worked.
But they seem to have put me on another course of these.
The embarrassment brought forth some witticisms from my lips. As the nurse reached for some of my kitchen towels to cover me up – Carer Kara came in while they were ‘doing me’, and I quipped, a postage stamp would have done! Hehehe!

I remembered I’d got some potatoes in the oven for my meal. Kara kindly went to check on them for me. A Lidocaine (a local anaesthetic) and Chlorhexidine, (an antiseptic) tube were shot into Little Inchie. Stings a bit, but a nurse laughed and mimicked, “Oh, oh, oh!” Which took my mind off of the pain. Clever gal! Then… Dang-dang-dang, Dang!
The insertion of the new tube began…
Naturally, my being the brave, heroic sort of young man, there was no grimacing, chewing of the cushion on the c1966, £300, second-hand charity-shop bought, crumb-containing, odour-retaining, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, nauseatingly beige coloured, non-working, virus-breeding recliner which I was sat on, howls of pain, nor exclamations of any sort, like, ARRGH! or anything of that nature while the tube went in.
.
But this inserting nurse was a no-messing-about one; I think she did it last time, too, straight in unhesitatingly. It was soon all over and settled! Thank you!

Kara did the eye drops and medications for me.

Then I got the meal ready.
Simple food for a simple man. Hehe!
Flavour rating: 7.2/10, fair enough

Night carer Chris came early. Which made me think I could watch my favourite ‘Heartbeat’ episodes. I fell asleep after he’s done the eyes and medications, as he sat at the Carers desk.
I woke up, and he was on his mobile.
No doubt female related. It sounded like he was speaking his native tongue, so I kept my eyes shut to avoid disturbing him for some time. He got the night bag onto the Catheter for me, the pouch in the drip tray, and off he trotted.

No chance of watching ‘Heartbeat’; the first episode had almost finished, and not that it mattered cause I drifted off to sleep again. I’m doing a lot of that lately? Twice at the hospital, several times yesterday in the flat, and now again!

I was woken around 20:40hrs, as Carer Chris came to do the last 22:00hr check. Eye drops and Peptac.

No sooner had he left, I fell asleep again!
This time I was almost jumping awake every few minutes, repeatedly. It wee’d me of this did!

I got up, grabbed and hobbled into the kitchenette for safety checks. Being so tired, I thought I may have left a tap running, a door open on the fridge or oven on from cooking the potatoes. All was okay.

I took this Kodak shot of the beautiful late sun setting.
To my Pareidolia’s Delight, I spotted what looked to me like a shrimp in this photograph. Can you see it?

The rest of the night was Sleep, Wake, Sleep, Wake, Sleep, Wake, Sleep, Wake…
Grrr!

Toodle-Pips!

Unbelievable! Talk about a reversal.
This morning my worries, fears and panic over not getting help done with so many things were exactly the same. Zilch, nothing was advanced or sorted. But, did I care? Nope!
I really can’t understand it. I was so laid back about things, but the niggles, fretting, and frustration had evaporated, and stayed that way until a few minutes ago, as I started this blog belatedly. Now, All is back to the tension-ridden, nail-biting, sorry for me, considering silly things. It is possible that the wound beginning to heal, but my ankle infection still itching (a good sign). And even the left hip was causing me far less hassle this morning. The urine colour in the night bag was so clear, too.
Comes to something when you have no idea why one suddenly gets the spirits raised a little, but don’t understand why?
Another quickie I’m afraid though. because when I got up after removing the night pouch… Liberty-Global went down.
Even that didn’t sink me into a depression. Confusion Conrad did pay me a long extended visit, though!
Something was amiss with me this morning? Onward

Pleased with the urine shade, though there was not much of it.
That should have concerned me, but it didn’t.

Got the computer on, it went down within a minute!
So, I couldn’t check to see if the hospital had confirmed the change of appointment days or not. Not that it mattered much to me this Monday… it normally would have.

Into the kitchenette.  to get the kettle on to make a brew of Glengettie. Something else different here. Normally, with my restriction to two mugs a day, I would not have made one so early in the day. (I got up at 0335hrs) The sky was a lovely blue.

A summons me to the diverted me to the wet room.
Well, that’s where the bog is. Hehe!
I even had time for a few minutes of cross-wording.
I even managed things using just a third of the toilet roll.

Back to the kitchen, taking this photo of the morning view as it was getting lighter quickly now.

Waiting for the kettle to reboil, I noticed how well the legs, feet & toes were looking.

When it returned I made a start on updating yesterday’s blog, a fair bit to do… not that it bothered me.

Carer Richard arrived. I believe he was concerned about me being so cheerful. Hehehe! In his usual no-fuss manner he got the first eye drops in and issued the medications. I got him a cold drink from the fridge. Lemon & Lime. Then he did the second eye drop and issued the medicine. Believe it or not, I did not squirm at taking this horrible aniseed-flavoured reflux medicine, for the first time ever I think. Something was still amiss this morning?
Said farewell to the lad as he departed, wishing him a good sleep.
Richard took the laundry down for me. Thanks.

Back to the computer…
Even now I not too wrangled?

I was just about to post off the Sunday blog…
Now the irritation was beginning to return.

Got the laundry bag made up.
The computer is back on but after an hour or so…
Now the bile was brewing!

I started to take photographs each time the went down. I’ve collated them all here with the approximate time taken for up to 17:00 hours. Some great on some of them. More later.
1300hrs
14:00hrs

15:00hrs. See anything in this one? You must?

15:10hrs. Raining a bit…
16:40hrs.
And the one below, a few minutes later.
How I got the terrible colouring, I don’t know.
I was a close-up shot though?
Nothing like it looked colourwise, But you can see a man or bear in the left cloud? Or the hand rising? Or is it just me? Hehe! Spitting blood now at

Carer Chris arrived, full of the joys of spring.
drops, then the tablets. Next the lousy-tasting Antacid medicine. Then the eye drops.
Drink from the fridge, and the
Aniseed medicine. Spit! Haha!

We took some photos from the balcony of the clouds.
A dog investigating the mudslide water…
Decide it was bath time, and had a jolly-good jumping-about session. The tail wagging furiously! Great!
Carer Chris took these two for me, catching the shiny rooftop on one house as it caught the sun. Must have sun-power-shields?
The cloud formations had changed a lot, but they were still wonderful, almost pretty some of them.

Puffer clouds high in the sky – I love them.
Lower, the skyline ribbon. With its fingers pointing up skywards, beasts and I see the abominable cloud-man. Haha!
18:20hrs: An open oyster there?

21:40hrs: Getting the late meal sorted, and captured this late sunset shot. Bootiful!

The Nosh!
Imitation ham sarnies 7.2/10 Taste with some of…
I find the delicious not-butter, butter, tastier than any proper butter. 10/10 Taste-Rating!
Potatoes crock-pot cooked with sea salt. 3/10 Taste-Rating!
Canned garden peas. 7.3/10 Taste-Rating!
Tomatoes halved. 8.2/10 Taste-Rating!
Soy lemon yoghourt. 7/10 Taste-Rating!
If my calculation is right, that makes overall,
a Taste-Rating of 7.1/10.
I used the Windows calculator.

Of course, a man of my education, I could have done the calculation in my head… but would have got a different figure.
I recall some results as I read my final school test in 1960.
Different days of various exams meant some of the lads had skipped school to avoid whichever they were not very good at;

Mathematics: 34th out of 34 tested.
Chemistry: 25th out of 32 tested.
Metalwork: 28th out of 29 tested.
Technical Drawing: 29th out of 32 tested.
History: 29th out of 32 tested.
P.E: 32nd out of 34 tested.

R.I.: 15th of 32 tested
Music: 30th of 33 tested.
Woodwork: 18th out of 19 tested.
English: 1st out of 34 tested!

True. Hahaha!

A LONG DAY
My memory this Tuesday was very similar to the unreliable; the brain was constantly losing it completely or partially, so often, then returning to a slow, crawling working state. There were a few moments in there all the same. Rare flashes of the old Inchie. Unfortunately, which state I was in and when is a jumbled-up mélange, an assortment of miscellaneous thoughts in my memory bank. Few of them made sense or had anything to do with the matter or problem at hand at any particular moment. Similar to my .
I took a lot of photographs, most of which I think I can recall taking.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

My feet looked less bloated… I think.

Waking up view.

Three visits to the in the first hour.
I hope a plumber will come soon. Refilling the water tank by hand from the kitchen sink might give and a bit of a workout on me, but I’d sooner go without the extra pains; from hauling buckets of water from the kitchen sink to refill the non-working W.C. tank!
Plea to Nottingham City Homes maintenance plumbers:
PLEASE COME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE – Thank You.

I got a delightful selection of fresh-cut vegetables into the slow cooker. Seasoned with just sea salt and a drop of Worcestershire sauce. Carrots, peas, leeks, potatoes and swede.
Oh, and added some soy bacon bits.

The Asda delivery arrived.

.
Obviously, without some products.
The chap took the carriers through to the kitchen for me.
And arrived. She whipped the things away for me, bless her cotton socks.
.
Took these snaps after had put the food away and medicationalised me prescriptionally. Plenty of fodder to last me now! The cupboards are all full.
.
The fridge was looking betterer too..

I had one of the longest periods of Mind-Blanks ever! Well, I can recall odd bits; While I was supposedly out of it, Carers called, and I did a lot of work on the blog for Monday to get it posted off, at last. But this is not really remembering; it’s just that I found the blog done, although poorly, and the Carers had signed the log sheet after I came back to semi-consciousness but had still been operational? Sort 0ff…

I also found that the day bag had filled up quickly. That or I’d been ‘out-of-it’ longer than I thought?
The urine colour was much improved on that which I woke up to find it a 2 0r 3 on the card.

Apophenialising with these two slate afternoon shot
.
Fish with babies in an aquarium?

Bulging Veins? And a bruise?

♥ The Haematology, Deep Vein Thrombosis, Warfarin, Anticoagulation Clinic’s Nurse Hristina called…
A welcome pleasure to see this wonderful, kind, highly desirable, Nurse, Hristina. (Christina in Polish)
Got the blood taken caringly the sweetheart. Off she went, and a short time sulking I spent. Hehe!

A few hours later, a Landline Call Arrived…At the time, I was a smidgen miffed, because I was deep into CorelDrawing and caring mistakes, unwanted duplicates, and searching for a graphic I started yesterday, but had forgotten which file I’d put it and what I’d named it!
It was the lady receptionist from Sherrington Park Medical Practice. The nice lady with a clear voice that is in tune with and receptive to my hearing aids, thankfully.
She gave me the new dosages for Warfarin. Increased, due to my INR level now having gone up from a low 2.2 up to a high 4.4!
She asked if I could make an appointment to have the test taken next week. I pointed out that , and are making hobbling about difficult & painful. She said she’d see if it could be arranged for someone to call on me, and she’ll let me know. (Hard nothing yet)

Got the potato & veg soup done.
Had a wholemeal baton with it.
Flavour: 7.8/10. Not bad at all!

The sun was lowering, and it was getting darker. I wanted to take shots to see if any would be suitable for a blog top photo.
No, the sun needs to be at the far left or right…
Got the position, but a terrible photo”
Not far enough to the left…
Mmm… No good, shame!

came. Checked the day pouch for me. Issued some Peptac & Painkillers, and took some shots of the sunset, before it disappeared! I grabbed the Kodak and took one from the kitchenette, window…
Bootiful! Although not a good shot, I rushed it. on the way back into the other room…

Of course, there was no whining, howling, cursing or swearing...  well, I think I may have expleted an “ARRGH!”. But of course, no crying, bad language or spitting. .
It was in one respect, an almost perfectly done act of a I’ve ever done. Spot in the right foots , it didn’t even need to bang any other toe; if I had, it couldn’t have been more painful!

Peace & Good Will to All!

Today was possibly, maybe, perhaps, conceivably, feasibly perhaps, I imagine, I dare say without too much doubt (although this may be debatable), it is plausibly my worst day since being born, then years later, finding out from the midwife that mater’s first words and action as the accoucheuse lady handed me to mother in a bloodied pillow slip.

This is Genuine; Mother also admitted it years later.
Telling me that she took to me later.

“I don’t want it; throw it in the Trent!” Then dropped her fag ash from her Park Drive all over me.” Not one of the best starts to life, but now I’m nearing the end of it; it dawns on me that nothing seems to have changed?

Ah, life’s been good to me”

Not much of Diary again, sorry. I even had a roughly three-hour spell of total memory loss, a Mind-Blank, if you like. Mind you, when I came back into ersatz reality, the sunset was just starting, and I spent about two hours photographing the sun and skies… I’m just addicted to the beauty of it. Not a lot I can remember, my scrawled notes are not of much use, I’m afraid.

Anyway, here I go…

Up around 06:15hrs, and realised that the need for the porcelain Throne was due. I got the night pouch off of the .
Hastened to the Throne and a messy job it was again.

To the kitchen to take these three terrible photographs of the view.

Sorry about this…
Not good at all…

Made up the waste bags, a brew and Carer Jozef arrived. He was obviously running behind and wanted and or needed to press on with his rounds. So I did not engage him in any gossiping. Nice lad.

Made a start on updating yesterday’s blog. The pouch was filling up and needed emptying a few times more than usual… but every single time I bent down to open the valve for emptying, I went light-headed, and Dizzy Dennis paid a visit. This went on all day and is the same now at 23:00hrs

Then, the mind blank arrived. Not the foggiest memory, but a Carer had been and signed the log… who or what happened? I know not.
Also, my little finger was hurting and the left side of the jaw too???
A tumble? Had I walked into a doorframe again? Mmm?

I remember Carer Caroline arriving, and I found out that I’d not given her a torch, so did so. Lovely gal!

Things came back as normal as they can be for me around sunset time. And boy, did I get fascinated by the changing sky… Yes, I did! Hehe!
Here are all the Sunset photographs I took; I think I spent ages, with a few interruptions:

First shot

Clouds move all the time…

Sun lowering…

Coming through…

Nearly through…

Took a close-up

Getting brighter…

Ah, the colour comes…

Darn it! Had to go empty the pouch.
Got back in time to catch these beauties…

Wonderful!

Wider shot…

Picturesque…

Globble-rots, off to use the Throne again.
All changed again…

Awesome, the sun is not gone yet…

She has now, but she was still lighting the clouds…

Grrreat effects!

Daunting…

Hello, the sun’s showing again?.
How does that work, then?.

Outstanding!

Another change? I love this!

Mother Nature…

All gone dark… but not for long….
Horison lights up?

The strip narrows.

Then goes…

The high sky goes grey.

Horizon strip white…

Well, a bluey-pink. Hehe!

Nightie-night…

Hello, hello. Can you see this?

I do believe I’m just seen and taken a shot of Jupiter?

Putting the camera away, Carer Richard came in.
I’ve missed the lad. He seemed in a decent mood and looked better than he did last week, I’m pleased to report.
He said he’d change the day catheter in the morning and then add the night pouch to .
I feel like I spoke a lot, but can’t recall what about some sort of moaning, most likely. Grumpy Old Men do that!

I had a handful of fries done in the air-fryer, then a pot noodle with tons of seasoning in it. Dunked some bread in it.

Sleep came easily…
As did the shooting awakes with a jerk!
HUMPH!

INCHIE TODAY: Monday 27th February 2023

INCHIE CARTOON

ALL THE MISTAKES IN THE ODE ABOVE WERE NATURALLY INTENTIONAL. Ahem!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I woke and had to force myself not to nod off again. The ablutionisationing just had to be done early today. So as to try and get the Sunday blog finished and get through the marathon shower[shaving and shi…, erm Porcelain Throne Sessioning done. get dressed and all the paperwork etc., ready for the trip to the hospital done in time. A challenge? Yes!
But for a man of my calibre, brave, sophisticated, on the point of being heroic. Such a challenge is welcome. Yes, a two-hour-plus struggle, yet I relish such things. Indeed, I crave them!
Please bear in mind I have not yet taken my medications.

On fumbling my way free of the clutches and crumb-containing aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, £300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner…

Signs of much nocturnal nibbling having taken place were found on and around the waste bin at the side of the chair. Ahem!

I tackled the night bag detached.

A smidge dark, traces of some blood in there?

The bag was filling up quickly, but it looked a slightly better colour.
I was planning to shower, so I thought I’d get rid of some urine in case it came on again while I was in the shower.

The teggies were done, and I got my feet in the bowl on the floor soaking in Dettol and was about to start shaving… the was suddenly needed. So it was to be – But what a messy affair!
Of course, by the time I’d cleaned things up, the water in the bowl had gone cold. No problem, I’ll empty it down the WC and refill it… Did I say No Problem? acci-whoop I dropped the bowl. Had to clean things up again, but I was undaunted. Little did I know what dropsies lay in wait for me later in the day, as well! I got the shaving done with only three little cuts,
I reached up to close the shower curtain…

I felt a little discomfort in the armpit… I got the camera to try and get a photo of it…
A right red mark in there, and all the hairs had disappeared???

Was dried off with paper towels.

All looked well with the contraption.

I got things medicated, dropping the ear-holes olive oil and spilling much of it on the floor. Got dressed and off to the kitchen to get the kettle on. I knocked the saucepan off of the stove top when I dropped the milk bottle… I have to report that; There’s more to come later… Tsk!

I took a reasonably decent photo of the blue morning view.

Carer Richard arrived. Got the medications done, but he did not look very well. I felt guilty asking him to help in putting my socks on. Poor lad looked proper poor;y to me. Fingers crossed for him. He a grand chap.

I got the paperwork checked, including the times of the lift. Got myself downstairs to wait for the Easy-Lift minibus. Jenny was down there sorting some of her charity work to be collected, bless her cotton socks. Lovely to see her. The van arrived, and the lady got me to the hospital with no bother. Thank you.
I’d not taken the camera with me, cause it’s bigger than the new ones and would be awkward to use and keep safe. I got these two photos from the web when I got home.

..

I got inside and joined the queue for the receptionist. A nice lady greeted me, and I gave her the paperwork, which she checked, and told me someone e would be down to see me shortly. I thanked her and moved into a seat as instructed. Remembered that I’d not got my mask on (Covid), so got it on post-haste. After a minute or two, Mr Mann came to me, checked m name and commanded (I’m not joking), to follow him, which was not easy as he’d got a good rate of speed on him. Into his office, sat down, and I was out and going back to the reception in… I’d estimate five minutes max.
He got annoyed when I could not hear what he was saying. But he only asked me three questions anyway. I think they were; how long have you had the catheter on? 8-9 weeks! Have you had a bladder scan? Yes! He asked a third question that I had to guess.
Then he said; That’s it then; we’ll see how you go when they take it off. You’ll not see me again! Very nice!
Back to the reception area to await the lift home. It was due in about an hour or so. I got the pen and crossword book out and gave it a go for gouty minutes or so. It was hard work reading the clues, but I enjoyed it. Even if I didn’t get many answers, it kept my brain going.

I got the pains in Little Inchie, and I knew that the catheter bag must be full and filling the tube with nowhere to go. I couldn’t check it, because it would mean taking off my trousers.
I thought I’d join the queue again to ask if it was possible for me to use the WC to empty the bag. But the kind lady who greeted me came over to me and asked if I was waiting for a lift or do I want her to call anyone. Kind! I explained my unfortunate condition, and she got two… I say two nurses who took me to the closet and emptied the pouch ♥!
Not only that, but as I was about to go with them, the Easy Link minibus arrived. The kind lady said you get your bag seen to; I’ll tell the diver what’s happening. She made me feel important. Unlike the Doctor, who knew I was an NHS imposter and had no qualms about looking and talking down to me.
The two nurses, by the way, I think, were in the photo from the web. Fourth and sixth from the left. ♥♥♥

The driver, chappie, was patient with me and soon had me back at the flats. I gave him drinkies from the three-wheeled-walker trolley basket.

I met Carer Carol-Anne in the lift.
She sorted the meds for me..

Dropped a mug of tea!

All clean up.

SOD ME!
AGAIN!

Peed off now!

Started A pan of vegetable stew.
Knocked the knife box off of the ledge when taking photos.

AGAIN!
Knocked the box off!!!

Great space-related shots? Hehe!

Later…

Carer Charly.

Time for Food!

Oh, no, it isn’t!

Carer Richard Arrived. Very tired and not looking well at all, poor lad. He got the night pouch attached to the , and he gave me some Peptac. I got him a cold drink of spring water to help cool him down. Richard was sweating and had a croaking voice. I fear he may have to rest and see his doctor soon. Fingers crossed!
Hope he can get through the day; bless him.

Time for Food!

It started with a can of cheapo Asda vegetable soup and a can of tomatoes. I seasoned it with some BBQ marinade, sea salt & Oxo cubes. I added some peas and potatoes from the slow cooker. Then cooked some potato cubes in the oven until nice and crispy (the ones that Richard rescued as he arrived), crispy hard on the outside, and added them to the saucepan of vegetable delights. It was a struggle getting it prepared, what with the four-pronged walking stick and carrying the night pouch about with me. I did manage one more , spilt some soup on the kitchen floor while dishing it up.

Not that it bothered me or got me grinding my teeth, cursing venomously, encouraged self-loathing, nearly making me cry, or spitting blood…

Then, the feasting started!
Somehow or other, I ate the entire bowlful, and it was a large bowlful.
I enjoyed it and even went into the kitchen afterwards to wash the dishes and check if anything had been missed in my previous cleaning up.
All went well… apart from I’d left the cold tap running, the hob heat on and dropped and broke the sauce pot washing up.
ARGH! An irritated, self-annoyed Inchie could then not get off to sleep… well, not for ages, anyway. Grrr!

Another quickie here, folks, sorry.

Up at 06:20hrs. The night pouch was removed. Which started off very annoyed with me, Back-Pain-Brenda, for the rest of the day. Huh!

However, the urine was a healthy colour. Got the pouch emptied. Wrapped it was per the instructions in a blue bag. Then thought I’d better get a shave at long last. I stripped (Not the catheter, of course) and had a good stand-up body scrubbing session. As I was about to get the shaving done, the door chime chimed. No, I didn’t mean that… the intercom chimed; luckily, I’d left the wet room door open, or else I’d never have heard it. It was the Ocado delivery I ordered last week and forgot all about, and ordered an Asda delivery for today as well. I know, four weeks on the trot now that I’ve done this. Is there no hope for me?

Not a lot of things, though, but some expensive stuff in there, And some favourites that no other store stocks now?

Like Marmite crisps, well loaded up now!.

The costly Flash mop thingamajigs, wet and dry pads.
They were on sale at half-price!!!

Then the Lynt Easter eggs the carers like, and fresh (Kenyan) podded peas: neither of which are available elsewhere!

Some reet treats here, Alcohol-Free fizzy pretend champagne.
Blood orange tonic weather as well. I shared a bottle of the ersatz plonk with someone later on.

Then after getting things put away and taking a painkiller to appease the bone-shaking Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley, the door chime did go off, and in came Carer Richard as I was putting the kettle on.

The lad got down to sorting out the medications for me, and we had a few minutes of the nattering session, during which he gave me some advice. He was feeling a smidge better, he said this morning. Great news; if he meant it, bless him. Off he trotted, with me telling him to get to bed. Hehe!

Moments later, the Asda order arrived. A big one this was; it filled eight carrier bags and two boxes.

Accifauxpa getting one of the carriers inside.
I was carrying it with both hands and tripped over the stick as it fell from my arm… This caused the inserted into Little Inchie Catheter Cathleen tubing to be yanked a little. Christ, it hurt! Still does, actually, nine hours later!

However, being the trooper, hero, and brave bold man I am, after stopping the bleeding, I just got on with the mammoth job of sorting out the delivery. Naturally, it didn’t bother a man of my calibre in the least.

I realised that I’d bought several packets of pickled onion crisps. Cause I’d forgotten that I’d ordered the Marmite crisps. I may have to live on them for a few weeks… along with the Cheesy Curls…
But no, to my amazement, they had delivered so many of the items that they had not had in for ages, I ordered two of them or another variety… they fooled me and only had one item not available.

I  restocked the Carers and Nurses shelf.

Hohoho! Just look at the new biscuits they had in stock!.

Galaxy Chocolate digestives – Bootiful!
Maryland Cookies – Caramelised! Great!

A sliced Farmhouse loaf!!!

Very Nice!

Well, a nicely stocked fridge & Freezer now!

I am a glutton!

To say how busy I was all day…

Thus not concentrating on drinking, I was pleased with the
urine flow. Although in the evening, it did get a bit bloody.

Just after midday, a shot of the Sherwood housing.

Then things got busy and went pear-shaped after Carer Kara, Sarah or Samantha visited to see me…
Sister Jane rang, and we had a nice gossip.
Nurse Christina called to say she would be coming tomorrow to take the INR blood test for me.
Esther called to see how I was. Bit unfortunate in the timing cause just as I caught the damned catheter tube again, Argh! And the blood flowed as she rang, so I could not concentrate properly on what she was saying.
Then a belated Amazon delivery arrived, washing soda.
Then…

acci-whoop

It was getting late, and my eyes were as usual, getting increasingly blurred; I think I must have hit the wrong combination of keys, and CorelDraw froze on me!  I lost all the work I’d just done as I was about to save them to file. Grrr!
I had to force close things and restart the computer. With fingers crossed that all the photos of the sunset and the day’s happenings would still be on CorelDraw – HA! No chance! I booted and opened CorelDraw, and ALL THE WORK I’d done over the last three hours HAD BEEN LOST!
Not only did I have to do it all again, but the file had to be name changed, and I lost over an hour trying to find the original to do so!

Not going too well at the moment!

Carer Charley arrived, and we laughed and nattered for a short while, which cheered me up a smidgeon.

I took the above picture while waiting for the kettle to boil.

This below is the last day photo I’d taken and forgot to put on earlier.

You can see the sunset getting ready to appear at the bottom.
And Bootiful it was when it came.

I had another bash at this blog, then got myself something to eat.
A reet treat, too!

Well, apart from the soggy tomatoes and not nice
Kenyan peas and slightly tasteless potatoes,
The imitation pork & strawberry cheesecake
were fine. Taste-Rating: 6.2/10.

Arrived. Got the
and the medications are given. We put the world to right during our three-minute chinwag. (We brought back hanging, 20-year minimum sentences for anyone who kills anyone with a vehicle, Escooters, or bike) Made a life term to be a life term for murderers, and got rid of all the Parole Boards, and sentenced everyone involved in freeing a convicted killer to murder again to life imprisonment on bread & water, with no visitors and no medical treatment. Made cannabis legal, unless when driving. Brought down the cost of Vodka for Richard, and Marmite Crisps for me. Well, that was a fine start. Now we have to form a political Party.
Hehehe!

INCHIE TODAY: Thursday 2nd February 2023

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Due to circumstances beyond my Dementia, physical capabilities destruction, frustrating lack of control of my body and brain… Well, it sounded good to me. It’s true! Hehe! And the visit to the Doctor, which is just a blank in my mind now.
Thanks to Dementia Doreen, I have never been so confused in my entire life about what going on around me as I do this morning (Friday); Time forced me to limit this Inchie Today diary. That old killer, ‘Time’, forces me to do this, Hope to be back to the old format later. Broken sleep dominated the day – as was being demanded from my body and brain!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Today, mostly stolen from memory, distorted and warped by the avaricious, covetous, cruel Doreen Dementia, and hassles and complications from the

I’m only putting in what I think I know happened today.
Up and in the wet room to tackle getting the ablutions done in readiness for the visit to the Doctor. Lift arranged with the Easy-Lift charity, volunteer drivers and a reasonable charge.

This session went fantastically well. Well, apart, that is, from the controlled evacuation. Not so much a torpedo, more like a nuclear submarine! Hahaha! But no bleeding with it.
It felt so good to get a shave, shower etc., after so many days of inability to do so. But, this and the medicationalisationings, then dressing was timed. It took me 2hrs-25minutes! The longest ever! But at least I’m still doing it on my own. The main reasons were the catheter, extra time shaving, my not having had a shave for days, and the struggle.

I’m dreading it hewn Doreen gets worse, and I have to pay for some carer to clean me. When it comes to this stage, I don’t think I could cope with the, and perhaps , maybe even still having a catheter fitted as well, frightening! As the ever-present oink  ruling the roost, I would not want to cope. Of course, it’s going to come. Not that I expect to be aware of it. So I decided to try and make the best of things until then.

Lost the plot there… off subject again. Sorry.

.
Emptied the brilliant-looking urine, not a sign of any blood!

.
Made a brew, and I took this morning’s view, too!

Carer Richard Arrived. A little vague on this visit for some reason. Maybe we talked of things that worried or concerned me, and I went into denial mode and filed memories away from my own grasp? But this happened later in the day at the Doctors and is a new trait that conceivably I can expect in the future?

Got the outer clothing on and readied to go to catch the lift. I checked the taps, heating, stove etc., and then I rechecked them.
Down to the lobby. The Easy-Link minibus arrived two minutes later. And ~I was on my way to Carrington and the Sherrington Park Medical Practice. The fiver dropped me at the entrance; I thanked him and went into the surgery with my EQ telling me this would not go well. Naturally, no details, He sometimes gives a type of upset, jealousy, fear, greed or something of that nature as a guide for me. He was right!

Worryingly, a ‘Haze’ Came over me when the man spoke to me when I got into the room with him. EQ was talking gibberish to me in the background throughout the meeting? As I said, this was worrying!
No idea why or what caused this, but I spent the rest of the day in this state. Utter confusion, what the hell was going on? Was all I recall thinking?

Bits and pieces of the session remain, but others are vague and mixed up in the ether of my brain. I may not have these memories in order, but they are all I came out of the hour-long meeting with, and I’m the least confident about actually having happened.

❶ I’ve got to stop taking Ibuprofen.
❷ Something about letting me have some Haemorrhoid cream.
The Doctor consulted, and she said I didn’t need it?
❸ He wants me to take the BP twice a day & record it for him.
❹ I’m sure they issued a prescription electronically for some anti powders. I mentioned that I could not fetch them today as I had an Easy-Link picking me up. ‘Why can’t you?’ He asked. ‘Because they cannot digress from the arranged route, or they are not covered by their insurance, you see.’ I replied. Your Carers should fetch it then.
❺ The only other bit I recall is telling him about the problems with the catheter, but he stopped me, ‘You must talk to Urology about that. Phone them; the number is in the book and on the web!’

I departed, and got an Easy-Link lift home at a reasonable price, thinking clarity would return once I got home. It didn’t!

.
I took this photo when I made a brew of Glengettie.
I’ve no idea why, but it may come back to me.

My body was demanding sleep all of a sudden. I agreed and got the clothes off and the dressing gown on, and with drooping eyelids, I got into the £300, second-hand, c1968, charity shop-bought, eyesorely-horrendously grungy coloured, Harold Haemorrhoid-testing, easily-falloutable from, unfit-for-use, not working, recliner, and was in a deep sleep very quickly.

The carer came to give me Peptac and Paracetamol.
I was soon back asleep. Zzzz!

The Night Carer, Sarah, I think it was, came to put the on to the day pouch.

But; Houston, we have a problem…

The rubber attachment on the end of the , was longer on the end of the day pouch? So the gal could not possibly even try to have . Without her fitting a new day pouch. Which is not on her remit. The gal was a little concerned about what to do. I settled her nerves and told her to leave it. Hopefully, a nurse is calling tomorrow to check the new catheter; and may change it for us.

I nodded off again. Up around 01:30hrs to make a meal.
Food balancing on my belly,
Wobbling on my knee,
I turned on the telly,
Contented gastronomically,.
Again, I felt sleepy…
There was no stopping me…
Zzzz!

I woke at 041:00 hours, still feeling tired.
Had to empty the pouch and use the .
So I stayed up.

GC why

Fat, fatigued, frazzled, fearful and fed-up!
