Samoan: Aso Gafua 24 Tesema 2018

WD0.0.128 23:45hrs. It didn’t take long for the brain to recognise the desperate need (Yet again!) for the post-prandial use of the Porcelain Throne! For some reason, Arthur Itis was in a bad mood, and both knees were not keen on movement without pain.

But, I had to get through the discomfort and to the wet room and Throne – where I had to go through the same with the evacuation. A red-hot, burning and seeming at times to be an endless evacuation. It took a lot of effort, and the blood flowed.  I really must mention this to the nurse at my Warfarin blood test later, and add it to the QMC Anticoagulation Haemostasis and Deep Vein Thrombosis Clinic notes! What a mouthful! Haha!

1Mon01WD0.0.128 After cleaning up,  I spotted and collected several EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) from the wet room floor, all deceased. But they did look well-fed and fatter than usual to me?

And I really was starting to think that the Weevil War was over, as well. How come there were so few over the last few days, and now they counter-attack, yet again? It’s a good job I continued to spray the Santex every day! The cunning, mendacious, not-so-little-now,  mites!

Got the Health Checks done, and then updated the record on Excel, for last week and today.

1Mon01a

I worked out that I had to get the ode idea and diaries updated quickly. Because the INR blood test is due at 0815hrs today, instead of Tuesday, that being Christmas day.  Which means I’ll have to get the ablutions done at 0630hrs, to give me an hour to get the ablutions done, dressed, the nibbles ready, so I leave at 0720hrs, no later in case Arthur Itis gives me any bother, I have a feeling he will. Allowing me, about 55 minutes to walk to the surgery.

I got a message from Tim Price, pointing out about my temperature record being too low. So today, after the visit to the nurse, I’ll call in a chemist and get a new thermometer, hopefully, an in-the-ear one. And check on how to use it properly. Thanks, Tim. I turned up the heating on the radiators in the kitchen and computer room.

I got the weekend post finalised and sent off to WordPress. Then did the funny ode and photograph post was done.

Made a start on this blog.

1Mon01aaMade some brekkers again, for a change. Sausages, tomatoes and bread thins.

WD0.0.128 I realised I’d forgot to take the morning medications, so I did so, albeit a little later than usual. What an Utter Eizel!

My EQ told me that the Whoopsiedangleplops were not finished yet. There may well be ululations aplenty to come! The old EQ is rarely wrong, I’m afraid!

I tended to the ablutionalisationing. Not as refreshing as usual, with me not being able to use the noisy shower with it being so early in the day.

I could not take the five black bags of waste to the chute for the same reason, not wanting to disturb the other hostages… I mean residents. Hahaha! But I put two empty rinsed jars and the bag to drop in the recycling bin on the way out and took the white bag of recyclable stuff to place next to the caretaker’s door. Int life awkward, sometimes?

I got to the lift and down into the foyer, to find Cyndy doing her laundry, which cheered me up, having a little chinwag usual does that to me.

WD0.0.128 Tsk! it dawned on me that I had not put the hearing aids in! Back up to the apartment and collected them. Back down again, and said my farewells to Cyndy, who had kindly waited where I’d left my bags on the floor in the panic when I shot off for the aids, to watch things for me. Bless her! Thanked her, and set off out into the gloomy but beautifully coloured morning. I got about 50 yards and… WD0.0.128 I’d not taken the anticoagulation form with me! I’m running out of names to call myself without using naughty words. So many Whoopsiedangleplops this morning! What a nayfish! Back to the building and up to the apartment yet once more. No luck in finding the form, it had disappeared. I could blame the Weevils, but that would not be feasible. Hehehe!

1Mon05aFinally, at last, I set off again!

The colouring as I limped along Chestnut Walk was still looking amazing as I took this photograph.

The plates-of-meat were already stinging after all the extra ups and downs due to my malfunctions, botches and bungles, so far!

1Mon06A short way down Winchester Street, not far from where the Mystery Boots Fiasco tool place, last month, I came across some Nottinghamian Street Art with a difference.

I’d have had a peep at what was in the bags adorning the artwork, but if I delayed now, I might be late arriving at the surgery, and my EQ told me that it was not going to me Nurse Nichole in attendance. (I later found out it was right again!).

1Mon07I hastened with the feet getting ever increasingly pained, Tsk! Down Winchester Street Hill and turned right onto Mansfield Road.

Being the day it is, and the buses on a Saturday service, I was still surprised by the lack of traffic and pedestrians about. I couldn’t even see any Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists!

I exerted my short, Churchillian-like body and limbs to the maximum, and pressed on up the hill, down the other side and arrived at the Sherrington Park Medical Practice in Carrington, and managed it with two minutes to spare before my appointment time! Not bad, considering all the Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplops I’d suffered. ‘Smug Mode Adopted! (Temporarily!)

I got the crossword book out and had a failed go at it. Fifteen minutes later, Nurse Ann called my name out from around the corner!

WD0.0.128 I cowered, trembled and cringed. But somehow or other, I struggled up and out of the chair, dropped my book into the bag and carried it with me towards her, as I smiled bravely! Heroic I was!  Intrepid, bold, daring, audacious, undaunted, I ignored her rushing me, and took my time as I followed her into the treatment room…

WD0.0.128 Where the stout-heartedness evaporated! My regular famously demure, coy, submissive, cowardly Mode returned. Especially as I had to tell her I had forgotten to bring the Anticoagulation form with me… then mumbled my way through explaining about the farce I had earlier in going back to the flat… My words meant nothing of course. Just one of her Prize-Winning stares thrown in my direction that said: “Oh, yes!”, stifled my words, and I meekly carried out her instructions to the letter without saying anything other than in reply to her interrogational questions. As for asking about the problems I was suffering with, the ankle and knee giving way, the temperature concerns and Dizzy Dennis’s attacks… I’d sooner have gone bungee-jumping than risk asking her. Hehehe!

1Mon08I thanked her, gave her some nibbles and crawled away. I dropped some more treats on the receptionist desk and scuttled out into the now slowly changing morning light.

With a sky that I imagine would have been a delight to any Nottinghamian interested in the hobby of nephelognosy.

The chemist was not yet ope1Mon07an, so I carried on a bit and called in the Lidl Store. I wish I hadn’t now!

In the yellow painted retailer in this picture, the launderette, I noticed Big John and went in to have a chinwag with him for a bit.

A git of a Pavement C1Mon07byclist frit me as he belted by from behind. The Git!

On to the Lidl store. I wandered around, in no rush. I selected some salt & vinegar potato sticks, some mini-weiners, a cheese twist, and a baby pork pie (For Christmas Day breakfast, as has been my habit for years now). I got to the self-serve tills area and joined the end of a long queue.

WD0.0.128 By the time my turn came up…

  • Two women had banged into the back of my bad knee with their trolley.
  • A bloke had trodden on my corn, and gave me a dirty look?
  • And a woman had nipped in front of me taking my turn at the tills.

WD0.0.128 Tsk! My chance arrived, and I moved as quickly as I could to avoid being Queue-jumped again and started putting my few bits through the machine.

WD0.0.128 I was having a problem finding the cheese twist on the price list on the screen, I could hear the muttering and tutting behind me… A chap leant on my shoulder with chin and told me which button to press to find what I needed, I thanked him, then he came out with a naughty four-letter descriptive word for me! Oh, dear, worra day!

I left the store in haste, despite the bag I was carrying. I went to the chemist who was now open. Big John was having a fag near his car, and few words and a laugh were exchanged.

1Mon07cWD0.0.128 I went towards the pharmacy, to find it packed solid with customers. So I did not go in to get the prescriptions or a new thermometer.

The Pelican Crossing further along Mansfield Road was now out of order. The Flats in this picture, are named, Tavistock Court, has a little history. I remember them being built.

1Mon12A former Nottingham Post journalist who travelled the length of England for free using only his old folk’s bus pass started his journey here.

The Post Code had only had 182 reported crimes last year.

A single flat was sold at Auctions for only: £38,600!

Just thought, I’d mention it.

1Mon09I walked, well, limped back to Sherwood and called into the Ozan International Food Centre.

The one with the large young lady who overcharges or shortchanges you when she can get away with it. But what a body!

I got a small sliced loaf (£1.49, but tasty!) pickled mushrooms and two tins of chilli beans for a quid.

Then I called in the Boots Store and got a thermometer. I couldn’t get one that went in the ear but got one similar to the old one.

1Mon10The climb back up Winchester Street, took more out of me than I would have liked.

But I got up okay, with several stops to rest the corn, ankle and heel.

At least there were no Porcelain Throne needs while I was out and about.

1Mon11The sky and lighting were so beautiful when I got onto Chestnut Walk. I took this decent shot of the Winwood Heights as the yare today.

Not many prisoners around, in fact, I didn’t see one on my way to the apartment, anywhere?

I got in, and still, no more demands for the Throne arrived?

I put the bits of food away and got the oven on a low heat ready to warm up quickly for the chips later on. I’m going to make sarnies with tomatoes to go with the chips. Unless there is a change of plan.

A lot of banging and knocking from up above today. Big John I suspect.

I did the Health Checks. I got both of the thermometers and used them straight after each other. Tried them both, and got 33.1° on the new one, and 31.2° on the old one! Threw the used one in the recycle bin! It looks like it was acting up, then?

1Mon33I started to update this blog for a few hours, then decided I was too tired to continue. Poor old thing… Haha!

So got the chips cooking and made the ham and tomato sandwiches. A Flavour-Rating of 7.2/10, was given. Mostly for the wonderful tasting bread and the fries.

I spent about three hours watching the TV, about 70% of the time, asleep! Hahaha!

Woke up many times, and eventually gave up and turned off the telly.

Zzzz!

Christmas Day Morning: Inchcock ‘Aching All Over’

I woke up this Christmas Day Morning:

To find that the only parts of my horrendously Billy Bunter like body, that didn’t Ache or Hurt, there the left index finger and the right side of my right elbow!

I found myself singing, Johnny Kidd & The Pirates song, as Aching All Over in place of their, Shaking all over. The idea came to get some humour out of feeling so poorly, and I set about making this graphic, putting my version of the song in the yellow letters.

Dec 25 2018

Christmas morning, and all I could do was create this bit of fun.

Sad, innit?

Hehehe!

Hope you have a laugh, and a jolly good holiday!

Inchcock’s Ode to his beloved EIBWBBBs!

Just a few thoughts and recollections about Inchies EIBWBBBs

(Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles)

Dec 24 2018

Having got acquainted with my beloved EIBWBBBs, who arrived when the new windows were being fitted in the apartment, I think I would miss them now if they were to move on to another flat. We’ve had many happy times together:

Oh, how they loved the new Spare Room Window, with its holes in the filler and plaster and the cracks to hide and play in!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Of course, the new balcony being built brought them out in their hundreds, only to be slaughtered as their Guardian, Inchcock, spent hundreds of pounds of the last eight months of their sojourn in flat 72!

AA01

Above and below, the EIBWBBBs favourite hideout, the Wet Room. With its holes in the wall where could escape into the kitchen to the walk-in cupboard, climb in the wash basin for a swim, on the curtains so they could play at dive-bombing Inchcock when he has a shower… best of all, they had the escape route down the drain on the floor!

When the balcony door was installed, they had a wonderful time coming in through the cracks in the plaster and holes in the sealant.

The Kitchen was popular with the little mites.

Not Classified but interesting!

Before arriving here, as inmate 72 at Woodthorpe Court, I’d never seen a Weevil before in real life.

I have now!

Hehehe!

Bless ’em!

Dec 22 2018

Saturday 22nd December 2018

Bulgarian: Събота 22 декември 2018 г.

00:25hrs. For a complete change, I woke this morning ‘Not’ wanting to recall any of the dreams I’d been having, but bits still insisted on filtering through, possibly the worst nightmare I’ve had all year. Just about every one of my many mistakes, bad judgements, and embarrassing episodes were momentarily relived, and it wasn’t very nice at all!

WD 0.25.0 I lay feeling sorry for myself for a while, when I opened my eyes, the scene was so soul-destroying – I’d been at the Nocturnal Nibbling again! As it dawned on me how many bits of fodder I had on, and around my body, the self-hatred and frustration grew! (Please see the Morning Thoughts, above). I wonder if I can get some help with this problem? Mind you, it’s not every night, just now and then that I gorge myself in my sleep. And, I have really tried this last couple of weeks to attain a degree of abstemiousness… He says, looking for some lame excuse. What a yold, Tsk!

WD 0.25.0 I moved on mind-wise and lay thinking about what is on for today, and it was like someone suddenly released a hose pipe! A dire struggle ensued to get out of the £300 second-hand recliner and to the wet room in time. Then en route, I realised that the (First of many) Porcelain Throne was required as well! My first evacuation of the day was one of the mini-rugby ball types. But no haemorrhaging. It’s not been a great start to the day, I thought. (An understatement as I was to discover later! Oy Vey!

Anitcepticated the hands, and off to get the Health Checks done.

6Sat05

No surprised in the readings and the sphygmomanometer worked first try. Took the medications with some milk for a change, then made a brew of the Strong Assam tea.

WD 0.25.0 I started to shiver a bit. After previously feeling all warm and snug? I didn’t need the EQ to tell me I was coming down with something or other. For once, I was so glad that no one will be calling on me.

WD 0.25.0 No sooner had I sat on the computer chair, another hasty visit to the Porcelain Throne (2nd) was needed! A massive evacuation, this time of the normal mode, but a lot of it. Washed and antisepticated the dandies and contact points this time, with the Dettol. As I came out of the wet room back to the computer, a bit of sweating was starting, I took off my woolly hat and jumper. I reckon I’ll have Diahorrea Donald as a visitor for a while.

When I closed down the computer yesterday, I did it with the Update & Close option. So, once again I was not too bothered about all the flashing and stuttering that went on. Huh!

WD 0.25.0 I made a start on this blog. Slow work, because the Liberty-Global Virgin Media Internet was so stuttery again!

5Fri003

6Sat07I put the heavy dressing gown on as well now, it felt so cold everywhere in the flat. The slow computer was driving mad!

So I went to make another brew of tea, and get some mushrooms in the crockpot. I decided it might be a good idea if I made a stew of some sort. I have pork chinks in the fridge I can add to the mushrooms with some vegetables (parsnips, peas, and carrots) later when I get the 6Sat06cooker started.

Blimey, it still feels nippy in this kitchen, more so than the other rooms?

The thermometer read 9°c – 59°f, it must have got colder overnight. I took this photo to show the lights outside.

Then, as I returned with my mug of tea to the computer: I had to veer off to the wet room, and Porcelain Throne visit three! Oy-Yoy-Yoy!

WD 0.25.0 An incident-filled session ensued. The passing style changed again, this time to a liquefied and messy mode!

WD 0.25.0 And there was a lot of bleeding! Heck of job cleaning and medicating things after the evacuation. Tsk! I think this may be the last of the Throne visits, as there has been so much passed, there cannot be much left in there? (He says hopefully).

6Sat03

WD 0.25.0 Then I spotted just one of the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) He or she was dead, and although it doesn’t really show on this picture, it was a massive beast.

Back to this lactarium.

Then I realised I had not yet finished off the Friday diary. Nitwit!

6Sat08Before I started the updating, I nipped into the kitchen to add the ingredients to the mushrooms in the crock-pot: Sliced some parsnips, cut some pork into pieces and put them in with the mushrooms. I added some caramelised gravy stock and Hoisin sauce, gave it a good stir and started the slow-cooker on low.

I noticed that the temperature had shot up to 64°f, now.

I then got on with the updating and got it sent off to WordPress. Better late, than never!

I sensed that I could feel a draught coming from somewhere, but could not find the source. Is that possible? Here I am in my jammie-bottoms, dressing gown, slippers and with my knitted hat on, the temperature tells me is no longer cold… but that is how I feel. Cold!

6Sat11The shakes and shivers are far less frequent than earlier, though.

As I was taking this photograph out of the light and view-blocking kitchen window with the ledge that sticks out so far I cannot manipulate the camera if I want to make a downward shot, like this one and see the viewer at the same time… what was I saying? Hehe!

6Sat12The Hunger Pangs arrived, and I made a mini breakfast of a slice of pork pie and some mini tomatoes.

WD 0.25.0 The top of the salt pot fell. The mystery is where all the salt that fell out went to? Fair enough some went into the container, but where did the rest of it go?

It’s little mysteries like this that seem to evade other folks. Like the enigma of noises, I hear but cannot locate? The EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) infestation, the most unreliable memory and concentration levels, etc. That seems to have followed me all of my sad, miserable, confused, bewildering, inscrutableness-filled failed life, and are still visiting me now, in my continued route to full decrepitude classificationHehe! Just thought I’d mention it!

Had a few Highland Shortie biscuits, then fell asleep sat in the computer chair! Oh, dear!

Hours later when I woke again, I went on to Facebooking on the TFZer site.

6Sat13Did the Health Checks and got the nosh ready.

I deliberately dished up some extra gravy with the concoction of pork and vegetables so I could enjoy dipping the broken off pieces of the gloriously tasting Soughdough baguette. Mmm! Not as tasty as I’d hoped it would be, nut the bread was enjoyed. Gave this one a Flavour Rating of 6/10.

Drained and unbelievably still feeling so tired. I got the fourth summoning to the Porcelain Throne! Another fluid evacuation. It confuses me as to how quickly the innards could have turned things like this and got the fodder through the various inner workings and out, so fast!

Cleaned the pots, and settled mega-early into the £300 second-hand recliner. Viewed the Freeview schedule, and found three films one after the other, that I thought I’d watch.

6Sat14

Got up to do the Health Checks to find that Dizzy Dennis and Shaking Shaun were both active.

Not a really disagreeable day, but the ailments coming and going were a tad irksome. I’ve had far worse ones. Got the head down again, and fell asleep in seconds.

Sunday 23rd December 2018

 Yiddish: זונטיק דעצעמבער 23, 2018

00:15hrs. WD 51.0.0 I woke in desperate need of the Porcelain Throne! I almost threw my elephantine body mass off of the £300 second-hand recliner, clouting my knee of the Ottoman as a hastily rushed to the wet room. Yet again, making it just in time. (This can’t last, I fear my next visit will not be so lucky for me!)

The evacuation was a typical Haemorrhoid Harold affair, messy and with great patience needed, my knowing full well a second dollop was brewing to follow on! (Experience told me this, and I was right for once). I did not move from the seat, I dare not! I got the Clarkson book and read a few pages, before the almost-liquid second-coming, came! Hahaha!

WD 51.0.0 Another worrying factor, I nearly nodded-off while sat there reading the book? This concerned me a bit, so I cleaned up and got the computer on to find out what I could, of the noddings-off I’m suffering. I found this advice:

  • Many cases of narcolepsy are thought to be caused by a lack of the brain chemical hypocretin (also known as orexin), which regulates sleep. This deficiency is thought to result from the immune system mistakenly attacking parts of the brain that produce hypocretin. A number of factors may increase a person’s risk of narcolepsy or cause an autoimmune problem, including:
  • anyone elderly, with a high EQ
  • an inherited genetic fault
  • hormonal changes, including those that occur during puberty or the menopause
    major psychological stress
  • a sudden change in sleep patterns
  • an infection, such as swine flu or a streptococcal infection
  • having the flu vaccine Pandemrix

Research is yet to confirm whether all of these play a role in narcolepsy.

I just ended up putting it down to my having been such a bundle of energy and working such long hours for so many years, and I’m getting old and paying for it now. Huh!

Got the Health Checks sorted. The flipping Sys and Pulse were high!

7Sun07

7Sun03Got it finished and went to make a brew and get some potatoes into the crock-pot.

WD 51.0.0 I intended to let them marinate in the water, seasoned with some strong Balsamic vinegar. I change the plans after I’d put light Soy Sauce in by mistake. Klutz!

While doing this, I had a brave-wave of an idea for a humorous rhyme about this weeks thoughts. Seen above, I added it to this post, as I had already posted it off stand alone this morning.) So I got it made up and sent off. When I create these ode-thoughts, if they do not flow out of the brain, I abandon them. This one shows the state my mind must have been in. Haha!

I went to make another brew of tea, a Strong English Breakfast one this time.

WD 51.0.0 As I put the kettle on, a second summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived. Off to the wet room. A particularly reluctant evacuation at first this time, again giving me time to read more of the Clarkson book (Nearly finished now). I even had a glance around for any signs of any of the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles), but like yesterday, I could only one on the floor near the shower drain, but this was a live one, and soon made its way to and disappeared down the drain. The evacuations might have reluctant to move, but it was terribly splattery when it did come. I wonder if a new problem had affected the splanchnic department, somewhere, or is it the foods I have been eating?

Around 0500hrs I heard some noises again, as I have been doing lately around this time, but th7Sun07aey were different this time. Repeated sort of long scraping sounds, but of short duration? I had a wander around, but by the time I started hobbling around, they had stopped again.

I opened the light and view-blocking new window in the kitchen and stuck the camera put taking a blind shot of below. The rain had stopped now, and I think that the giant puddle near the compound gate to where Willmott Dixon is building Winwood Court, had gone down a lot.

WD 51.0.0 Unbelievable! Another trip to the Porcelain Throne! Hard to understand as well, was the again changed nature of the evacuation! Back to the hard mini-rugby ball-shaped escapees! Tsk! No hesitating in exiting either, no a little bit of discomfort. Still, on the bright side, there was no bleeding again. So, from diahorrea to liquidified messy splattering, next to mountainous rock-hard granite-like… Oh, never mind, it’ll change again next time I expect, if there is a next time! Tsk!

Cleaned up and medicated things in need of the same, and went on Facebooking.

Sister Jane rang. She gave me a few clandestine verbal telling-offs. (She is brilliant at this, I’d say up to Margaret Thatcher standard!) We chatted as I felt more and more guilty about my Sister-pointed-out failings. Hehehe!

7Sun10Got the nosh sorted. Beef pie, potatoes with a drop of BBQ sticky sauce on each half, tomatoes and mushrooms. Followed with a naughty, wicked Limoncello dessert. A Flavour-Rating of 8.5/10 given.

I ate up the small but decent meal and placed the tray on the side chair. I thought I may have difficulty in getting to sleep tonight, with my dropping off for so long in the chair earlier.

7Sun11Some strange noises were heard again, this time they sounded like whining and tapping sounds at the same time. I knew there was no work taking place?

I went out into the light and view-blocking, letting in the rain balcony, with its finger trapping window opening mechanism and misted up in the rain glass with gaps between them. The noises lasted a good few minutes, and I began to think they might just be in my head. I could not locate where they were coming from, seemingly all around?

WD 51.0.0 Got a visit from Dizzy Dennis as I sat back down in the £300 second-hand recliner. Only a short one, though. And it did not stop me nodding off quickly, and for an uninterrupted five-hours! No waking in need of the Throne, that arrived as soon as I woke up again at 23:25hrs! Tsk!

Inchcock’s Thoughts of the Week – In abysmal imitation rhyme.

Despite, the old hero’s Diarhorrea Trotsky attack, his Accifauxpas, tumbles, toe-stubbings, Haemorrhoid Harold’s Return, his Bleeding Fungal lesion, visits from Dizzy Dennis, Shaking Shaun and Shivering Sandra, his leaving the hot tap running again, and falling asleep in his computer chair (Him, mot the tap!), and his depressed state of mind: He is proud to present this week’s Thoughts in even more pathetic rhyme than last time!

Inchcock Today – Fri 21st Dec 2018: Mixed day, but apart from the tumble, not a bad one at all!

ZZZZa24eN

Dec 21 2018

Friday 21st December 2018

Catalan: Divendres 21 de Desembre de 2018

01:25hrs. I woke with the brain uninterested in anything I tried to communicate with it, at first. As the cogs unhurriedly began to engage, and the usual two way battle for understanding and some form of logicality began… I involuntarily passed wind, only a tiny phrwert, but the brain instantly instructed me to make all haste to the Porcelain Throne!

I hastily battled my beastly oversized stomach from the £300 second-hand rusty recliner, stood-up and gained my balance, then shot off in the direction of the wet room, with more momentum than I ought to have, but the need for the Throne drove me on.

WD 51.2.51 I tripped over the slippers on the carpet and made contact with my knees falling and hitting the floor! No time to worry about that now, I thought, as I got up with incredible speed and continued on my mission. I got there just in time, avoiding any embarrassment. I viewed the bruising on my knees from the tumble as I carried out the evacuation.

WD 51.2.51 That did it, the brain suddenly regained its confusional turbo-speed and started off on its Worrying, Fretting, Self-deprecating and Panic Mode! For a few minutes, what didn’t go through the brain was not worth mentioning. The examination of the fungal lession, why had the blood-pool on my finger disappeared? Did I take last nights medications? Why didn’t the tumble I’d just taken onto my knees hurt at all? What day is it? Have I left the oven on again? Why have I not got a stomach ache after eating all the fatty pork last night? Where did I put my hearing aids, will the hospital bus be running today?… on and on the unnecessary worries flooded in!

By the time I had completed the evacuation, cleaned and washed the hands, things were settling back into the ‘Not really bothered’ brain mode.

So, I got the Health Checks done and took the medications. (I had imbibed last nights doses, well, the pot was empty anyway, Hehe!)

5Fri001

5Fri001bThe sphygmomanometer was playing up again, and it took me three tries to get it to work. I know it is not the batteries, cause I changed them only two days ago?

The readings were much the same as yesterdays first checks, so that was good, I think.

I got the computer turned on, and a few flashes and stuttering during the opening, I put down to the MS Windows updates that came in when I was closing it yesterday? I got on with updating yesterdays blog and got it posted to WordPress.

As I stood up to go and make a brew, both knees were stiff, but not too painful.

Made some comment replies, well, one. Visited the WP Reader, again some good stuff on there today.

Went on the TFZer Facebooking.

Made a start on this page. Then got some mini-potatoes, mushrooms, and peas in light soy sauce seasoned water, in the slow-cooker, on the Auto setting.

Got the ablutions sorted, no shower today, cause it was a little early to operate things due to the noise it makes.

Took the black bags to the waste chute.

I thought I’d got everything ready and with me, and set out to the lifts. Taking a bag of recyclable waste and an empty Soy sauce bottle along with me, too.

WD 51.2.51 One was out-of-order, being serviced. Having only the one to use, it got farcical. The cage kept going up and down between the 1st and the floors! Time was running out for me to catch the bus in time. So, I walked down the stairs.

Weary and with the plates-of-meat aching something rotten, I got down and out to the waste bins…

WD 51.2.51 Which is where I realised I’d not taken the appointment card with me! What a shmo!

Luckily the one lift was on the ground floor still, so up to the flat and picked-up the paperwork, and down again after a few minutes wait for the elevator.

I met Cyndy as she was coming into the flats, had a quick chinwag and walked along to the bus stop. Taking this 5Fri003apicture of the temporarily abandoned for the holiday period by the Willmott Dixon crew.

It shows the drizzle and what a puddle-covered, dour morning it was, but not too cold with it today.

A large crowd of fellow inmates was at the bus stop, and a little nattering took place, which I enjoyed.

5Fri004Got on the bus and alighted at the City Hospital. Crossed over the road and limped to the Clinic.

Entered and greeted the receptionist bloke, the usual one with his good range of multi-sneers, raised eyelashes and a bored-scowl that I have never seen before in anyone else. These traits of his no doubt help him to keep his talking to proletariat scumbag patients to a minimum. I took a seat in the small waiting area. I was the only person in the room!

The feared that the students would be in attendance did not mature. Phew! But there were three Doctors, there when I was called to the office for an interview, and to divulge my doings and answer their questions. This only took ten-fifteen minutes, then we were all walking to a treatment room. Out came the ginormous microscope looking thing from the wall and was lit-up, before I had even dropped my pants. Hehe!

My EQ picked up that the whole team was in a rush for some reason, which suited me. A sample was taken, as they whispered between themselves. They all left the room Presumably to analyse the skin they had taken?  I lay there with a cloth over my privates and got out the crossword book and had a go at it.

When they returned they all seemed to have a smile on their faces to me? The leader spoke, but  I did not catch what he said. One of the female doctors repeated what he said to me as he left the room, never to be seen again. They are giving me one of the must-keep-in-the fridge creams, but this time I will get it via my GP. I will receive an appointment from them after the holidays. For a deep-shave excision which is a simple procedure, but with me being on Warfarin means all instruction given me beforehand must be followed and adhered to! (Something like that anyway).

I thanked them and got dressed. Out into the rain and to the bus stop, luckily an L9 to Arnold arrived within a few minutes.5Fri006

It dropped me off outside the Asda store, and I had a wander around in search of some turnips and lemon tarts.

The place was as to be expected, busy, but as I was using my card at the self-serve tills, I got access quicker than the others. I came out with a bag of stuff. A small tin of peas and large can of chilli-con-carne, turnips, mushrooms, lemon cake, mini-rolls, diced pork and some jelly babies.

5Fri007I paid up using the contactless card, and out into now wetter than ever, Front Street.

I espied the ShoeZone store and went over to see if they had any wide-fitting slippers in stock. The ones I tripped over this morning are a bit ragged and have a largish hole where my corn has worn its way through. Haha!

WD 51.2.51 The young lady with pound-signs in her eyes, pointed out to me where the slippers were to be found. I asked her if they had them in brown, please. She replied: “It doesn’t matter what colour they are really, does it!” She had a voice reminiscent Margaret Thatcher. I bought the blue ones and thanked her. I nervously made my way out of the shop as quickly as I could, before she sold me some ladies shoes or wellingtons! Hehehe!

5Fri007a Over the road and waited for the bus to arrive. Had a natter to a man and woman waiting with me.

The bus soon got packed with folks. A bit further on, and Arnold was almost at a standstill traffic-wise. I didn’t find out why?

5Fri08Good job I had the crossword book with me. IT was such a long time to get through the traffic jam, I nearly started and finished a crossword!

Ten-across, I’ve got three of the four letters in, but blown if I know the answer for sure. I can only think of nose, but am uncertain. The clue is: Bulge or growth?

5Fri08aAt the ring road, the rain seemed to be stopping at last.

When the vehicle got into Sherwood, I wondered if any of my fellow detainees from Winwood Heights would still be at the bus stop, as the L9 must have been fifteen to twenty minutes late in arriving.

Only one got on, Doreen. But she did not see me as entered the bus.

5Fri09We were soon back at the gaol… I mean, flats. Hehehe!

Had a few words and a laugh with Doreen, but the gal needed to nip into the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalistic Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin. I gave my farewells to her.

I got myself back in Woodthorpe Court and checked to see if any washing machines were free, but they were both in use, so I pressed on up to the apartment. Both lifts working now.

First thing I did was have an SSWW, then got the Health Checks done.

Put the food away, checked the slow cooker and got the computer on, to update this blog.

It turned out to be a frustrating and annoying computer session, due to…

3Wed04a

5Fri10I took a break and made a mug of tea and had a look at the new slippers I’d bought.

I compared them with the old tattered ones, and snapped the picture. I fear they may not be wide enough for comfort?

At least the velcro bit does not go over the top so far, so closing them should not be as difficult on the new one for me?

Did a bit of Facebooking, but I’m gerrin’ well tired now.

5Fri34Got the fodder sorted out.

Mini-potatoes, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and BBQ things on sticks. I have to admit, it tasted better than it looked. I think the adding of a little light soy sauced was flavoursome in the the mini-potatoes anf mushrooms.

A flavour rating of 8/10 given.

The nodding offs soom arrived after I’d finished the meal.

The TV stood no chance. Hehehe!

Thursday 20th December 2018

Zulu: NgoLwesine 20 Disemba 2018

23:54hrs. Despite my many recent forfeitures of fair-fortune, I woke up feeling as if I had discovered overnight, the panpharmacon to all my worries and concerns! I hadn’t, of course. Most likely that I had been dreaming. Possibly a simulacrum of hope? At least the mind was not in a dwall again, in fact, it was concentrational this morning from the start. Smug Mode Adopted!

I knew I had a lot of catching up to do on yesterday’s Inchcock, the Morrison delivery was due twixt 08:30 > 09:30hrs and I wanted to get out to fetch another of the Aldi Sourdough part-baked baguettes that I have fallen in love with, and the Winwood Social Hour at 10:00hrs… Now, my remembering all this was a surprise to me, but a feeling and expectancy of a sudden return to my standard, gutless and passive ‘it’s-bound-to-wrong’ mode lingered, implanted in the grey-cells.

The extraction of my body, with its over-proportionately abdominous region from the £300 second-hand rickety recliner and off to the wet room for an SSWW (Short Sharp Wee-wee), was done without any toe-stubbing, knocking into or over anything, treading onto, or walking into owt! No signs of any EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) either! Double-Smug-Mode Adopted!

I tended to the Health Checks.

4Thu001a

4Thu001I collected the tray with the meal residue, not food-wise, I gobbled all of that up, from the easy-chair where I’d placed it and fell asleep so quickly last night.

Got the cutlery used and bowl washed up and made a mug of Assam tea for myself. Which I suppose didn’t need saying did it? Only me in here, and I would hardly be inclined to make one for the Weevils! I think I might be on the verge of losing it again here? Hehehe!

4Thu01WD255.0.255 I think a little advice is called for at this stage, folks. When you go to dry off your cleaned cutlery, in particular, the steak knife, be careful.  Although this may well be a tip from a Nebbish, I think its still valid. Hehehe! Tsk!

I got the computer on and checked the Emails. One from the doctor’s surgery. Giving new level (3.8), the Warfarin doses and giving me an appointment for the next blood test, for Monday 24th December, at 0815hrs. I added this to the Google Calendar.

Then got on with updating the Wednesday blog. Got it finished and posted off after what seemed an aeon.

I made another brew of strong Assam tea. Noticing how the rain was coming down still, no harder than earlier, but with smaller but more frequent droplets. I hope it isn’t settling in. Because I am determined to get out to buy some more of the Aldi Sourdough Baguettes to keep in over the holiday period. Best tasting bread I think I have ever had.

Made a start on this blog.

Went on Facebooking on the TFZ site. Spent more time than I had planned on it, I got carried away answering comments and adding the photos.

The ablutions were completed in plenty of time before the Morrison delivery arrived. Got the things put away.

No Porcelain Throne summoning yet?

I got the nibbles, raffle prizes and pressies sorted into the bag for the Social Hour.

WD255.0.255 I took three photos from the unwanted, misty, light and view-blocking new kitchen window. I tried a similar shot with three different settings, but I’m still not sure which is the better one. Negativity and nilhilities seem to have moved into my life lately. Just saying, like!

4Thu06aDown again and outside, dropped the empty beetroot jar in the recycling bin, greeted a couple of fellow prisoners… no, I mean tenants as I stopped to take this photo of the New Extra care block being built and Winchester Court.

Gave a good morning to one or two Willmott Dixon lads as I passed them.

Arrived a little late at the Winwood Social, and was taken aback by the number of inmates… residents, sorry, in there. Realised as soon as saw the amazing Christmas get-ups that many were wearing, and the biggest stack of raffle prizes I ever have seen anywhere, it was the Christmas Social Hour! Jenny must have worked so hard to get it all prepared for us. Thanks to Jenny! ♥

Here are shots of the lovelies I managed to take.

4Thu10aI noticed a blood pool forming on one of my fingers, and remembered I was supposed to go to the clinic today! Klutz!

Made my excuse, and went out to wait for the bus. Handed the nibble box after distributing them; to Oberschützeress Warden Deana, and asked her to keep it safe for me, please.

Had a chinwag with neighbour Malcolm, at the bus stop. I decided, the lighting being like it was, might be a good time to take some decent shots of the Courts.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Just before the bus arrived, I fumbled in my pocket for the bus pass. Getting on the bus, I found the mini-diary.

WD255.0.255 Opened it up to find that the clinic appointment is for tomorrow, not today! I felt self-chastened, regretful, self-condemning, shamefaced, reprehensible and such a Nebekh!

I decided to stay on the bus and call at the Aldi store to see if they had any of the sourdough bread for me. Got some wine for Sister Jane and Pete (Both alcoholics, but friendly with it… Hehehe! The sourdough baguettes. Spring water for me. Belly pork bites and some lemon and lime yoghourts.

The chilly walk back down the hill to the flats was enjoyable. So, out came the camera!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I called in to see the tenants in the shed, and tell them of my Accifauxpa. Best, to be honest, innit. Even if you get the rise taken out of you! Hahaha!

The plates-of-meat were stinging by the time I got home. Did the Health Checks.

The potatoes were cooking okay in the slow cooker, I put the oven on to warm ready for decided nosh later. Pork Belly Bites, curried beans and some wholemeal bread thins, and a dessert from the massive choice now residing crammed in my full fridge!

Got this blog updated as far as here.

Getting weary now.

Al ingredients finished cooking now, I served up the nosh.

This meal took a lot of (to me, anyway) time, planning and effort.

4Thu19WD255.0.255 I admit it looked nice, smelt nice and had an appealing look to it. But a Flavour Rating of only 6/10 was the best I could grant it.

The flavoured baked beans (from a can this time), were excellent, I’d used Hoi-Sin marinade and mustard. The same sauce mix on the belly pork, when added to the dish. The potatoes had some dark Soy sauce added. I shall not try this again! Actually, the beans were first class tastewise, and the potatoes were passable – just the Aldi belly pork destroyed the enjoyment. Talk about fatty! Tsk!

The naughty and shameful lemon dessert was exquisite. Hehehe!

4Thu20I took the pots to wash them up, and get the Health Checks done.

I snapped this nephogram, through the unwanted, thick-framed light and view-blocking new window.

WD255.0.255 Off for an SSWW, and found that Inchies Fungal lesion had been bleeding. Humph! After a few minutes pure agony trying to medicate things, I gave up. My mind turned to the prospective investigation coming up tomorrow, by the Doctor, nurses, student nurses, Trainee Doctors and possibly this visit, they may bring in another class of about eight students again, to let them toy with things under the microscope discussing their take on the problem and trying not to laugh, like last time? It wouldn’t surprise me, if they let the caretaker in, too! Still, I mustn’t complain, unless they bring any morticians in! Hahaha!

I’d got some great gossips in today. Call them what you will; Schmoozes, kibitz’s, confabs, chit-chatting, verbal-ventilations or chewing of the fat, I love em!.

Got down in the £300 second-hand recliner and put a Torchwood DVD on, to watch for the twentieth time. Amazingly, as tired and weary as I felt, I stayed awake and got through three episodes with only two nod-offs and rewinding.

This resistance to nodding-off is annoying. Very later for me before I drifted off properly. Huh!

Inchcock Today – Wed 19th Dec 2018: Chin wagging, tête-à-têtes, blathering and gossiping, made this a great day for Old Inchcock! Oh, and the fantastic meal!

Wednesday 19th December 2018

Lithuanian: 2018 m. Gruodžio 20 d., Ketvirtadienis

WD 0.0.255c 23:45hrs: I opened my eyes and wondered why the brain was in ‘Ignavia Mode’? While I could tell the cerebricity seemed active, there was a definite apanthropinisation in there somewhere, ensuring that any thoughts, questions, ideas or queries that came to the fore were dealt with using a reluctant flânerie style of response? I shouldn’t be surprised come think of it.  For the tired for some reason, fat body was also showing similar negativity in its clinomania, and desire to stay where it is, sprawled on top of the £300 second-hand rickety recliner. Slothfulness and inertia seemed to have plagued and infested poor old Inchcock this morning. Tsk!

WD 0.0.255c It took me a long time to conjure up sufficient interest to get the body to move at all. The brain just ambled blasé along with whatever the body thought or did for several minutes? I thought maybe I was still asleep and dreaming. Mayhaps I was?

Anyway, things changed back to as near to any form of normality that I am capable of achieving, as I dismounted the recliner and stood on the picker-upper… Ouch!  Klutz!

The ‘La La’ state of the brain became semi-logical and responsive, as I made my way to the Porcelain Throne. The clock indicated it was now 00:22hrs. All of what took place during the missing 37 minutes from when I first awoke, will have to remain a mystery? Times like this, when things go out of the memory box are getting more frequent lately. Something else must have occurred in all that time, surely?

The self-loathing and fear of my going bananas was considered for a few minutes, while I completed the Throne session – A good one, no bleeding at all, and passable with ease. Of course, by the time I’d antisepticated things and washed the hands, the mind had moved on to consider other ideas and tasks. Like what day is it? Why am I only wearing one slipper? Are those biscuit crumbs in the dressing gown pocket? The notion of finding these things out intrigued me, but remained a velleity’ Hehehe!

3Wed05

And the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) seek & destroy patrol, produced only two dead Weevils over all three room and the hallway, left me Gobsmacked!

These cunning Conotrachelus posticatus are more cunning than I ever thought they would be, eight months ago when they arrived after the new windows had been installed. Bless em!

WD 0.0.255c  I made a drink, of the Morrison Assam tea bags. I left the bag to brew in the mug, to get at least get some flavour from it, while I got the Health Checks completed. Which took me longer than usual, as the sphygmomanometer didn’t seem to want to work. I searched for the spare batteries, which took me a time to find. I found them eventually in the drawer underneath where the machine was stood, like two inches away… Humph! Swapped them with the used ones and still, the device did not operate. I took the new ones out meaning to put two different news ones in, and realised I’d put the two old batteries back in – and the thing worked! Can’t life get complicated!

3Wed001a

2useThe readings for the Sys and Dia had gone back up again.

The tea had gone cold by now, Humph!

I updated the Excel record.

And, back to the Porcelain Throne again. Mmm? Another excellent and plentiful session. I wonder if this mass-evacuationing is down to my having two smaller meals yesterday, instead of my usual one per day?

I got on with completing the Tuesday blog and got it sent off to WordPress.

The strange noises like the last two mornings were heard. These were similar to the others, like a grinding noise, but very feint. I had no idea where they were coming from, I couldn’t even tell if they were coming from up or downward nor inside or out? But, they were not bothering me in the least. I was interested in what they were being made by, though? Around about five or six o’clock.

By the time I had started updating this blog to here, it was 0730hrs! It’s been a messy morning mind-wise as well. Oy Vey!

I went on the WordPress Reader next.

3Wed01aAblutions sorted out. Rubbish bags to the chute.

Back to the kitchen and took this picture in panorama setting. (Although it was another wide-shot disaster to me, why can’t I get a more wide shot to come out?).

3Wed05Out into the light drizzle and nippy wind, on my way to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. Emergency WC, the Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalistic Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin. I had chinwags with Penny, Mary, Ray, and Malcolm. Out to the bus stop, more enjoyable gossips of a humorous, insulting, criticising and insulting nature were shared. By gum, we were all in good form this morning! Hehe!

I caught the bus up to Mapperley top, got off and walked part-way with Brenda, and to the Aldi store.

3Wed05a1

WD 0.0.255c I had gone for just three things, but came out with about twenty! Humph, what a Schnook! Included in the list of unwanted stuff and bits that I did need were: Mini Wines, Jelly babies, small potatoes, carrots & peas, Part-baked Sourdough baguettes, tomatoes, oven trays, stuff for the nibble box, and treats in thanks for her hard work for Jenny.

I met Brenda at till we had a walk down back to the flats together. Good natter on the way down. With having two bags of fodder, I could not take any pictures as I struggled to keep up with the gal. Said our farewells as she nipped into her flat in Winchester Court, and I made my way, managing to have a couple of very brief natters en route, back to my beloved Woodthorpe Court. More nattering with some of the gals as they were waiting for transport to the Dinner session in Arnold.

I noticed that a washing machine was free, so I went up to the flat and got the fodder away, and gathered the laundry bag and down to put it in. Cyndy, Mo, Doris and two other ladies in the lobby still waiting for taxi’s to the dinner in Arnold, still. So I had some more talking, Mo and Cyndy were with them. ‘Good’

3Wed05a1aBack up and had to change plans for Shepherds Pie, as I had burnt the potatoes! Grumph!

So, I don’t know what you might call it, but I decided that the minced lamb with lamb stock and mint gravy, tomatoes, peas and carrots, sort of stew would be tasty enough. I added a few rehydrated pieces of soy lumps, too. It smelt so tempting as it simmered away, my hunger pangs were activated. Hehe!

Did the Health Checks.

Down to move washing from washer to dryer.

I got the clothing transferred into the dryer, after cleaning the filter.

I wiped the insides of the drum of the washer, and decided to put the spray which was almost empty in one of the bare cupboards, guess what I found in there?

3Wed05a2A Pizza in the laundry room cupboard???

It felt fresh as well? One of the gals said it was in the lobby yesterday on the coffee table?

I got the dryer going and back up on to the computer to start to update this post, well at least to make notes so I could remember for later on.

Down to collect the laundry.

What looked like a disabled chap and his son, were using the machines for the first time. I’m afraid they were confused by the number one washer, and he asked me about the odd times displaying on the panel. I had to humbly apologise for not knowing, and explained that it beats me, too! I could tell him about how to use number two washer, but of course, that was of no help to them at all. Klutz!

3Wed03I nipped outside to view the gloomy weather, then returned inside, just as the dryer stopped.

Got the togs out and cleaned the drum and filter. Folder the clothing into the bag, said my farewells and wished the two gentlemen well, and back up to the apartment.

As I entered the flat, the pleasant aroma coming from the lamb-hotpot, (perhaps a more suitable description?) stimulated my taste buds into an ‘Anticipatory Mode’!

Did the Health Checks and got the medicines out ready.

I hovered like a brooding mother over my first home-made Lamb Hotpot (without potatoes) Carefully stirring and caring for the feast in the saucepan. Hopes were high that it would come out alright.

3Wed06a

3Wed08I turned out to be a gastronomic delight! Especially, when eaten with this small Aldi part-baked sourdough baguette!

Flavour Rating of 9.55/10 given! Best ever!

I say on the £300 second-hand recline with the tray on my knee to eat it.

A full contented tummy, pleased with the chewing of the fat, blethering and tête-à-tête, sessions I’d shared in today… Wonderful!

Placed the emptied tray on the easy-chair next to the recliner… and fell quickly into a much-needed uninterrupted sleep for five hours. Ahh!

Inchcock Today – Tues 18 Dec 2018: Long busy day, the brain deciding not to help me much!

ZZZZa24eQ

2Tue06

Tuesday 18th December 2018

Lithuanian: Antradienis, 2018 m. Gruodžio 18 d

WD 51.0.0 00:16hrs. I stirred into simulated life, and I seemed to delve into a discussion between the brain and mind for a while.  It went something like:

  • Why are we so bloody tired this morning?
  • Dunno, but I feel shattered!
  • What time is it?
  • Couldn’t care less, let’s go back to sleep!
  • Good idea, mate!

Minutes pass by…

  • I can’t get back to sleep now!
  • Nor me!
  • Bugger-it! We’ll have to gerrup then!
  • No, damn life, let’s get caught up wiv the kip!
  • Could be dodgy that, staying in the recliner!
  • Why?
  • We need to use the Porcelain Throne!

WD 51.0.0 00:30hrs. The mind and brain now linked up to enable me to get my ever-growing stomach and torso from the chair, and fumble my way to the Porcelain Throne, and arriving only just in time to avoid an embarrassing situation! This session 2Tue02fwas back to being of the messy liquified type. So glad I got there when I did and not ten seconds later. Phew! Antisepticating things and I spotted the advance raiding party of EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) on the flooring!

The swines had fooled me again after all my defences and spraying sessions. Still, they come! 2Tue03Most had perished in the residue of the Santex bug spray, but a couple got away scot-free!

Bigger looking ones, this time compared to yesterday. I used up a can and a half of bug killer. They were all near to the shower drain like the other tenant found in his apartment. It appears these drains might be the ingress and egress routes they are using get about from flat to flat. Maybe, perhaps?

WD 51.0.0 I returned to the £300 second-hand rusty recliner, to ashamedly find signs of nocturnal-nibbling having taken place! A guilty-looking single jelly baby lay in the creases of the recliner cover, and an orange flavoured Smartie or two were nearby on the floor! I put on my slippers, and found more Jelly Babies! Mind-boggling, innit? How can I not know, or remember what I did during my so-called period of sleep? Am I developing habromania, or just going psychopathologically unstable? I can get overwrought, you know. Haha!

I got the Health Checks done. Pity there is not a machine like a hemadynamometer to test for habrobaniacal reading!

2Tue05

2Tue04Well well, all the readings were down compared to yesterday morning. I don’t think I’ve had the Sys and Dia so low before?

If I remember, I’ll mention it to the nurse at my ridiculously late Warfarin INR blood test later on.

Oh, wrong again, Klutz! I just noticed that the Temp is higher, though.

Got the computer on and added some liquid refreshment (For Jane and Pete, not me, I’m no longer an alcoholic like wot they are! But, things can change, Haha!) and minced lamb to the order for Thursday.

Then got on with updating the Monday diary. Posted it off, and went on the WP Reader.

As I was starting this blog page, another summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived. So off to the wet room.

WD 51.0.0 How or why the change I have no idea, but this session was back to the rock-hard mini-rugby balls? A bit of bleeding with this one. Just how, can things change so radically within an hour or so? Still, no chance of getting bored at least.

Went on TFZer Facebooking.

Oh, dearie me, off to the Porcelain Throne again! Back to the messy type session again. I hope this settles before I have to go to the doctors. Fingers crossed!

2Tue08A sudden desire for food suddenly overcame over me! I just had to make something to eat?

I put some sausages in the oven and ate them with some bread and tomatoes. And really enjoyed them too!

2Tue07Went to wash the tray.

WD 51.0.0 To find I had left the oven one! Still, it helped me make a ‘Moody-Photographical-Shot’!

I usually, but not regularly will have a few Scottish Shortie biscuits and maybe a yoghourt some mornings. But this meal caught me out, and my eating all of it did, as well?

Ablutions, showering and the door chime played its tune (Dusty Springfield – ♫ I only wanna be with you ♫). I covered up my unmentionables with a towel, and when I got to the door whoever it was had gone.

Ablutions all sorted out, nibbles made up and hearing aids in. Waste bag to the chute on the way out. In the lobby was Sturmscharführeress Warden Deana. It was she who had ‘rung my bell’ (Hehe!) earlier. She wanted to know if I had made a battery-check with the monitoring station this month. I wasn’t sure but thought I had… I told her I’d make one when I got back to be on the safe side. Fingers crossed on the memory stakes! I poddled on passing the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Warden’s Temporary HQ. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationistical Meeting Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Where things like crockery and pottery get 2Tue09stolen from, Rumourmongering Clinic, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, Portakabin.

Walked down Winchester Street Hill and it felt odd and unnatural walking down there so late in the day to go to the surgery. Thanks to the receptionists not making me an appointment in the first place, thus, my having to get one for so late in the day. 1145hrs, not good for me, but it 2Tue10can’t be helped. I begin to fade every day around 0100>0200hrs with my odd sleeping habits.

On Mansfield Road, I turned right, across the road and walked right up to Mini-market, where Abdhul stocks my favourite biscuits, Highland Shorties, and bought a few packets, to last me over the no-bus, depressing chinwagless holidays.

2Tue10aThen down towards Carrington on the same side of the road.

Where I comforted myself as I took this picture of the Funeral Parlour that I have paid in advance either burn or bury my overweight body. Not that it matters which to me, of course. Last week I think it was, that Sister Jane, was asking what tune or music I would like playing when I get burnt or buried.

As I plodded on my way, this seemed to take on some importance for me, and I considered my choices. Rattling the brain, perhaps:

  • ‘Unforgettable’ from Nat King Cole? But that had nothing to relate to me, other than I loved the song and admired the man for his smart way of handling the racists who managed him.
  • Dean Martin’s ‘The man with the Mandolino’. That has some connection with my failures in life, perhaps?
  • Billy Fury’s ‘In Thoughts of You’. Just cause I loved the song with the bloke bashing hell out of the piano keys in it. Hehe!
  • Ah… In the maze of my mind and memory, I found the one for Mr Bagulay to use! ‘They’re Coming To Take Me Away Ha-Haa” (1966)’ The perfect song for my funeral, Title-wise an excellent choice, I thought. Singer-songwriter Jerry Samuels became an unlikely one-hit wonder with this tale of descent into madness about being carted off to a mental institution. In the 1960s the song went to #3 on the pop singles chart. However, its treatment of mental illness led to the song being banned on many radio stations and music rights organisation BMI removing certification of the song. Today “They’re Coming to Take Me Away Ha-Haa” remains one of the most unusual humorous hit songs ever. So, Jane, please ask them for this for me? Thanks, petal.

2Tue11WD 51.0.0 Well-pleased with myself for getting this sorted in my mind, I realised I’d walk by the surgery, and had to walk back up the hill to get to it. Hehehe!

WD 51.0.0 As I approached the entrance to the surgery, a dreaded bike, in the entranceway! One I think, I have seen a Pavement Cyclist using previously!

I was already feeling a little tired, I logged in the with the receptionist, and sat down and got the crossword book out. A dismal failure, my efforts this morning. I don’t think in the ten minutes or so of trying, I got more than three clues answered! Ah-well!

An unknown or seen before the nurse came out to collect me. She was helpful and patient with me as I struggled to get the shirt sleeve rolled up.

WD 51.0.0 As she was trying to stop the bleeding afterwards, she realised that she had used the wrong container to put the blood in from the needle. Her face showed how embarrassed she was about this, and she had to retake the blood. I did not blame her in the slightest, though. For I had been waffling on while she was taking it, and no doubt this contributed to the faux pas. I tried to make the lady feel better afterwards by telling her this, and gave her a giant bar of chocolate for Christmas and thanked her as I left. Nice lady. As I went from the surgery, I dropped a bag of nibbles off for the receptionist, despite their making things so difficult for me by not booking me an appointment. But, I thought back to the mistakes I have made over the years at work, and there were many I can tell you, none intended, but they had repercussions for others at the time, all the same. So, my failings back then, helped me to cope and empathise with others failings now!

2Tue11aAs I left through the car park on to Mansfield Road, the view was so indicative of something, but I could not find of what! So I took this photo of it.

I tried to work out what it was that appealed to me about snap. The dreary cold weather, the biting wind, the sadly bare trees, or the fact that it had started raining, perhaps?

WD 51.0.0 I plodded on to the Lidl Store to get some cheesy cobs and have a look around. Being the time of year it was, the store was the busiest I’ve ever seen it. Cram packed with square-jawed determined Nottinghamian shoppers intent on getting their vittles bought. And not to interested in who’s toes they tread on as they barge persons out of their way (Me, of course!) I came out, after paying at the self-serve checkouts, with: A pork pie for Christmas morning, snack tomatoes, Sopocka, sugar-snap peas, two cheesy rolls and a very naughty large tray of De-Luxe Lemon desserts. Guilt Mode temporarily adopted!

2Tue11cThe very-fine drizzle was still coming down, as I departed the shop onto the gloomy weather.

I did notice a lack of people about, yet the shop was cram-packed with megalomaniac, possibly SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) sufferers and kleptomaniacal Nottinghamians? Haha!

I caught a bus back into Sherwood.

2Tue12I got to the L9 bus stop in Sherwood, and Frank was there having a natter with a chap in the shelter.

Others joined us (Afraid I can’t remember the man and woman’s name, Tsk!) We had a chinwag and laugh en route home. Frank seems to have disappeared, he did not get on the bus.

I didn’t feel up to going to the Willmott Dixon party, I think the extra blood taking might not have helped and maybe made me even more worn-out a little. But I was feeling so done-on when I got inside the flat.

2Tue12aWhere I surprised myself with making another meal. Habit perhaps?  A large plateful, as well. Sopocka sarnie, cheesy cobs, cheddar, tomatoes, chestnuts, pickled eggs, roast onions and potato sticks. Although I didn’t eat anywhere near all of it, I did consume the two pieces of the De Luxe Lemon Dessert. Sumptuous! But naughty?

I went to the kitchen and disposed of the uneaten fodder in the bin, (Tsk!) washed the pots and off to the wet room for an SSWW.

2Tue12b Back to the kitchen to top up the bottle of spring water with some orange barley.

WD 51.0.0 I spotted just one rather large, but dead (Possibly one of the Weevil armies equivalent to a Tiger Tank!) EIBWBBB (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetle).

It would help if I had the skills of Dr Dolittle. Then I could start a dialogue for peace with them? Mind you, look at the Brexit Talks! Humph! There are no signs of Weevil-Exit movements! Hehehe!

Washed changed and got settled in the £300 second-hand recliner and put a DVD in to watch. But fatigue won the day, and I kept nodding and waking for an hour or so, then I drifted off into a much needed deep sleep.

WD 51.0.0 An hour or so later, I was woken by the landline phone light flashing! I assumed because of the timing, it must be the Chukky-chicken chap again, so I tried to ignore it. No one I know would ring me at this time, I’ve tried to inform everyone about my early to bed and early to rise sleeping habit.

WD 51.0.0 As I was trying to get back to sleep, the mobile phone rang, by the time I’d struggled to get to it, the ringing stopped. Perhaps it was the surgery, but surely not, they would not have had the results of the blood test yet? And hopefully, if it was them, they know about my hearing problems and would use the Email, and I could read this in the morning?

I was so niggly with myself now, especially as I could not get back to sleep for ages! Grumblegluts and annoyances!

I put the TV on, and that worked, I was soon off into slumberland!

Humph, worra day!

Inchcock Today – Mon 17 Dec 2018: The Weevils return with a counter attack! Computer Scare! Day of Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplops really. Tsk!

Maltese: It-Tnejn 17 ta ‘Diċembru 2018

WD0.0.128 23:50hrs: I woke with the mind being harangued by confusing impenetrable, incomprehensibilities. The more I tried to marshal the medley of macaronic, mixed up, mind-teasing, a maze of ideas, thoughts, fears, and admonishments mentally, the more disoriented I became. It was a good ten minutes before I freed myself of the vexatious, niggling concerns, and this was thanks to the arrival of the need for an SSWW (Short-Sharp-Wee-wee).

The removal of my paunchy, plump-stomached body from the £300 second-hand rusty recliner, was once again done with ease almost, thanks to the lack of physical hinderments from my usual ailments. Good! But I wish the brain was the same, Tsk! Off to the wet room.

WD0.0.128 Argh! The dang EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) had been back on the attack again!!!

1Mon01aa

This unexpected counter-attack was most demoralising and choleric inspiring! Especially after four days in which I found only the odd weevil torso here and there, and thought I was in sight of complete victory over my flat infesting invaders! Grugglethump! Had a session of Sanmex Bug killer spraying.

Got the Health Checks done next. Made a brew and took the morning medications.

1Mon06

1Mon05a

Got the computer on and finished last weeks result sheet in Excel and updated today.

WD0.0.128 I started the internet, and the computer took me back to the opening screen? With a message of complete Gobble-di-gook coming up! Numbers and letters that meant nothing to me. I got the camera to photograph the wording, but it went off the screen as I took the shot? Very concerned now… had I been hacked or something? I opened the internet again with fingers crossed… nothing untoward occurred, I don’t think so, anyway. Seems to be working alright? It’s even a little quicker than it has been of late?

The call to the Porcelain Throne arrived and was responded to. Third good session in a row! No bleeding or leaking again! I like it!

1Mon01aI heard the noise I did yesterday, so I went out into the balcony to investigate.

WD0.0.128 The boarding was wet; the windows were only partially transparent due to the dew and mist, inside and out. I grazed between my fingers on the stiff opening spring clip and trapped a finger twixt metal spring and the massive framework when I opened the window. All in the cause of taking a picture to show you a 1Mon01neighbour’s flashing Christmas Tree in their balcony. For some reason, the colours did not show, they all came out as blues? Must ask Tim Price about this. I took this shot on the left, downwards, showing the soon to be removed Willmott Dixon end compound.

WD0.0.128 Then, I grazed between my fingers on the stiff opening spring clip and trapped a finger twixt metal spring and the massive framework when I closed the window, as well. Humph! The view outwards through the window was just misted-up and soul-destroying for a photographer, even one as bad as me. Hehe! Opening the balcony windows will be a necessity to take any decent shots. But the physical opening of them is a bit much and dangerous for me on the two side-end windows with the vicious spring clip. Especially if and when Colin Cramps or Arthur Itis is on finger movement limiting form. Shame, but here you are! Well, I am! Hahaha!

Blow me down! The creaking noise has returned. I can’t locate it, cause it keeps stopping after a few seconds, then comes back again. I don’t think I could hear it during the day, though, only early mornings? Mmm? Confounding, confusing, and mystifying. A bit like life is to me!

At last, I got to update the sour Sunday post and got it sent off to WordPress. Made a start on this blog.

Ablutions tended to. Black bags were taken to the waste chute. SSWW taken, got ready and out to the clinic for replacement batteries.

1Mon07WD0.0.128 I got as far as the ground floor in the elevator, the doors opened and I realised that I had not taken the hearing aids with me. So, back up to the flat to collect them.

Dropped the jars into the recycling bin. And took this photo of the Winwood Court and Winchester Court through the compound.

1Mon07aA little further along Chestnut Walk were some nippier than I tenants, who had passed me by as I took this photograph. I could recognise Malcolm, Angela, and Roy.

I joined them in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution and training area. Tenants Socialisationalistic, and Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin. We were soon joined by other residents intent on catching the bus.

Out to join the now much larger gang of residents outside waiting for the bus. The Bestwood bound L9 arrived first, and 80% of the people got on. Leaving bout ten left who got on the Nottingham City Centre bound one, minutes later.

No nattering on the bus, but I enjoyed listening and catching some of what the others were talking about.

WD0.0.128 I got off on Upper Parliament Street along with Penny and Mary. Stepping off the bus, my left foot seemed to give way, and I nearly went over.

WD0.0.128 As I walked on wondering what might have caused my near tumble, I had a bigger one! I thought it might have been my tripping on something, but after the ladies and I had a quick look, there was nothing to be seen, that I might have tripped over? Perhaps the ankle gave way? I just don’t know. Most peculiar!

I parted from the girls, well, they parted from me (I can’t blame them, Hehe!) and I went over the road and into the Victoria Centre shopping centre (Mall).

WD0.0.128 As I was approaching the VHS shop, sod-me it happened again, and the knee and ankle seemed to go at the same time. On this effort, I met the floor with a thud! Security guards came to the two people that were helping me back up, and asked if I’d been drinking! Cheek, Haha! This was the last time the leg or ankle let me down, but I was concerned they would again for the rest of the day. Particularly, as I didn’t know what it or why for sure, that I had tumbled?

I went into the VHS shop and had a nosey, but came out without any purchases.

I called in the Tesco Metro store to see if they might have had some of the pork knuckles back in stock, but no such luck. I bought a store-baked sliced loaf and some potato Cakes.

1Mon07bI left by the Milton Street doors, into the rain that had fallen since I had entered the mall. Which stopped as soon as I got outside. Nice!

The new 180-seat McDonalds with al fresco seating for about 40 more, had two customers inside. Sad innit?

1Mon07cI walked over the road and up Burton Street onto Trinity Row. (On the left) Where even more gigantic eateries are located. Although one of them had closed down now.

It amazes me how the others can still make it pay. I could not see any customer inside any of the posh high-cost restaurants or coffee-shops 1Mon08on the Row.

Foreman Sreet, where a plethora of food eat-in and take-away retailers have taken over one side of the street. They don’t look too busy, do they? Plenty of closed down shops, it worried me for the future, not mine, of course. Hahaha!

Thinking about it, within a few minutes or so of each other, there are a tremendous amount of food places around here. Nando’s, Petite Paris, Lavish, Prezzo, Slug & Lettuce, Harvester, Curious Manor, Caffe Nero, Lillie Langtry, Antalya, Revolution Bar, Belle Italia, Subway (4), Greek Lavash, Pizza Hut, L4P Takeaway, Le Petit Four, The Cornerhouse. Tamatanga, The Pudding Pantry, The Italian Gelato & Dessert, GBK Son of Steak, World Cuisine, Frankie & Bennys, McDonalds (5), Pizza Express, Burritos 2005, Mexican Eatery, Zizi Nottingham, The Walrus, Manga Sushi, Noodle Bar, French Living, Loche Fynne Fish Bar and Grill, Burger King (2), Five Guys, KFC, MOD Pizza… etc. Then add the temporary German, Polish, Italian and whatever food stands in the City Center until the new year, I bet that there must be around twelve at least?

I wandered off-track there, didn’t I? Sorry.

WD0.0.128 It dawned on me I had forgotten to take the Audio Book with me! So, no point in going now, they will not issue batteries without the Record Card, I know this, I forgot it once before and received a lengthy lecture and a telling-off. Hehehe!

1Mon14I decided to take a photo of the top of Exchange Walk, and then up Queen Street to the L9 bus stop, as one was due in ten minutes.

I caught a Nottinghamian PAement Cyclist right in front of me as I snapped this picture. He was weaving between elderly and young folks and continued doing the same in the amusements on the Slab Square. Naughty Boy!

1Mon14aI took this photo from the top of Queen Street near the bus stop and Post Office, that is to be moved into the WH Smith store in the Intu Victoria Centre.

The bus was a little late, but it always is at the 1105hrs run. It seems the company change buses to charge up the one on duty with a newly charged one, at this time, and the driver can get his break in. (Electric powered you see!)

Jenny got on the bus but was not near enough for a natter. So when we got back to the flats, we two gals and I had a quick chinwag. Penny said she’ll make me another chilli nosh later when she makes some more again. Bless her!

1Mon15I did the Health Checks and took the midday medications.

I got the bread and potato cakes from the bag, and noticed a little extra gift on the slices! I can’t see or guess what it is until I open the bag of course.

Motor or machine oil? Grease? There’s no telling! Hehe!

I got the computer on and made a graphic, I might put it on Facebook later?

1Mon16

Then I went on Facebooking Hehehe!

1Mon33Many hours later, I got the nosh sorted.

WD0.0.128 Apart from the Tesco store-baked sliced 400g sliced bread, with its paper-mache textured and tasting insides, and the rubbery, tasteless crusts (I didn’t eat the possibly contaminated with motor oil slices of course), the rest of the food was highly enjoyable. The mini-tomatoes went down well. I ate it all up, though.

1Mon001WD0.0.128 Did the last Health Checks, and went back for another SSWW. No Weevils sighted, but a little spider lay dead on the wet room floor. I was unsure whether the poor thing had died due to my spray, or the Weevils ha nobbled him?

I had a spray around with the Sanmex Bug Killer in the wet room, just in case the cunning EIBWBBBs should send one of their covert squads to assess the possibilities of their making another counter-attack overnight. They ain’t fooling me again, oh no! Well, they are… they’ve never stopped fooling me really. Humph!

WD0.0.128 Changed and down in the £300 second-hand rickety recliner and the mind-games started. Fears, arguments, self-incrimination and hatred etc. The usual sleep-preventing inner waffle thing. Tsk!

Zzzz!
