01:30hrs: I woke up, wishing I could recall some more of the dream I’d had. The best bits I remembered, was it all took place underground, in caves, some big some very small, and I was being chased through them. I think in amongst my many perusers chasing after me, was David Nixon and Bruce Forsyth, coffins and pianos were scattered in the more extensive caves. But it may have got mixed up with an earlier dream about me being a sort of mole trying to get up to the surface, but not being able to. Cause it was very confusing. I was confused about the dream. Hey-ho! Not very interesting but there you go.

Anyroad, I stirred into imitation life, and was soon out of the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working recliner. The one that my Xyrophobia-suffering, crooked Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-robbing, when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later!) But, his contrition makes him keep promising to return them. Well, what’s left of them and hasn’t already been deposited in his bank account.

WD 50.60.50 As I started to move, I noticed how distorted positions my body was in. Contorted in a way that I could not get the arms and legs in if I was foolish enough to try. It was close to agony getting my onerously flabby body and limbs free enough for me stand up. I gave thought to what could have been in the dream, to make my get like this, but I soon gave up worrying about it, as Anne Gyna and Arthur Itis started showing their displeasure at the movement needed to rise up, four-pronged walking stick assisted from the recliner onto my feet. Then I noticed the state of my left arm. Caused possibly, by it being around my back and sat on when I first awoke?

4Thu05

4Thu07There were no demands being made for any Porcelain Throne or wee-weeing activity! That was a worry, really. After months of flowing wee-wees, and on waking up Throne needs, today neither? I hobbled through to the kitchen and got the kettle on, moved the hand-washing onto the airers to encourage them to dry, they were still almost wet.

4Thu06The new Magnesium tablets, I thought it would be best taken on two halves, they were so gigantic in size.

WD 50.60.50 The new pill-cutter was brought out to be used for the first time. As you can see by the photographs on the left here, it was not exactly a resounding success. I’ll say! Hehe!

I think it might cope better with flat tablets as opposed to rounded ones, like what the Magnesium bricks are. Tsk!

WD 50.60.50 By the time I’d given up, after ending with a rather masticated tablet and even more crumbled bits of medication than actual pill all over the place, I decided another pill-splitter will have to be bought. Then I had to make another brew to replace the one that had gone cold. Not a problem for me, with the gigundous thirst I currently have on me. I’ve been this way for a couple of days since the catching the cold. Come think of it, with the sore throat, mouth ulcers and the tickly-cough, that might be why I’m not eating, and dishing food for the last two days? Or not. But the lack of wee-weeing concerns, under the circumstance, I’d have more wee-wees would need to be taken, else, where is all the tea going? Cause it sure ain’t coming out of Little Inchy… well only in dribs and drabs, at least I hope it will in consummation, none has yet today!

4Thu08That reminds me, I’ll have a swig of the linctus now.

WD 50.60.50 03:25hrs, I was sure I heard an alarm of some sort, and had a wander around in search of the source, which made me  more aware of the pesky, most nettlesome, infernal humming or droning noise that is all around the building 4Thu08afor the flat 24/7! Found nowt. Grrr!

I took this rather sad and poor, certainly not one of my bestest photographs, of the view out of the unwanted, light & view-blocking, thick-framed new kitchen windows, the ones with the unreachable to clean segments of glass.

4Thu08FI made another brew of tea (fancy that!) and used the different milk I bought yesterday, the organic one. Tasted okay.

At last, I made a start on updating the blog, must get it done ASAP if I am to get out today. Because there are many graphics that I need making and advance templates.

WD 50.60.50WDP 11gR

The sites on the web kept on crashing. I turned everything off, then back on, but didn’t take the power off, and rebooted. Moments later, they crashed again, not all together, but separately, within a minute of each other. WordHippo, Google, WordPress, and so on. I engaged ‘Panic-Defcon-1-Mode’, and felt my world had come to an end! Not angry oddly enough, just heartbreakingly sad!

Firefox asked me which tabs were in use when it went down, I told them via the message box, and hopefully rebooted, or recovering the crashed sites. But it kept repeating the process, and I had to stop and try calmly to see what I could try next.

4Thu11Then the computer became unresponsive, and would not let me close or open anything, the light on the mouse was not showing. Even the Window start button would not let me close anything down safely. So, I opened the mouse, cleaned it, and put new batteries in. Somehow managing not to lose-it entirely as I did so.

Without my computer working, life is not worth living.

Got it back on, turned everything off, rebooted and reset the internet, with a prayer. But Beelzebub and the Mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lie somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination, decided that this would not work, and it didn’t!

Panic had now set-in! I was near the end of my tether, at my wit’s end, in a tizzy. Corybantic and almost foaming at the mouth with frustration!

4Thu13WDP 11hLThen, after rebooting yet again, I went into my Norton and did a defrag. Nothing had changed! One more close-down and reset, then back into Norton. Which this time lit up attention needed button, which I clicked on, and it went through a few jobs and reported that it had saved so much memory, and the computer is now tuned-up. With trepidation, I started the network, which worked and then the Internet again, and opened WordPress – I could have cried for joy, as things were now working once more! I might even have shed a few tears of joy, actually! Don’t laugh! Oh, go on then!

So late in the day, but I got on with the updating of the Wednesday diary. But I was so relieved! The fact that it was gone 08:00hrs by the time I got it completed didn’t matter to me, exhilaration (and amazement) at me getting things working had not expired yet. I got the post sent off at long last!

Around 08:15hrs, I was just sitting letting the previous hours of torment drift from my worry-box, and taking pride in getting through the mayhem, when I heard a sound similar the earlier one that I couldn’t account for, it was so faint. I got the hearing aids in, lest it starts again while I’m looking for the cause.

WD 50.60.50 AS I was walking the corridor, I heard the Intercom buzzing. Was it the INR nurse, I pressed the accept button, and no view came up of the outer foyer area as usually does. No pins worked at all? That’s three, possibly four times this has happened up to now. If it does not come good later, I’ll nip and mention it later, to the Obergruppenfúreress Wardens.

4Thu14WD 50.60.50 I went to make another mug of tea. (This thirst is just not abating at all?) While waiting for the kettle to boil, I moved the handwashing around on the airers, then spotted some marks on the upper cabinet wood near the handle. So I got the Fairy cleaner, sprayed the spots of whatever it was, and trapped a finger in the handle, ridding the wood of the dirt. But it was nothing for a klutzy, blunderous, lubberly, clumsy, uncoordinated, doddering, disaster-welcoming, accident-prone, unlucky, catastrophal geriatric like me. Haha!

WD 50.60.50 About 0945hrs, The Intercom buzzed again. Same thing, no picture, no buttons working. I hope it wasn’t the food delivery or the nurse if it was anyone that is. Cause the screen told me no missed calls. I decided to pop down to the Obersturmführer and Catwalk Model Warden Julie, and or Riechsführeress and Pole Dancer Warden Deana, to let them know. As I got the three-wheeler with the nibbles in it, Josie came to me and said she was having the same problem with her intercom. I said I’m going down to mention it, I’ll let you know what transpires when I get back.

WD 50.60.50 When I got in the lift, a man and woman coming down from a higher floor, said they too had got trouble with their intercom and were going to complain, not mention it. A complaint is not warranted with someone who has no power over what is happening! (I just thought of that as I was typingI should get a mention in the Times, dictionary or something for that quote) Hahaha! Makes me sound almost educated!

WD 50.60.50 As I was walking to the link-passage door, a Nottingham City Homes gentleman was on his I-pod, I-pad, mobile or whatever it was he was using. And I mentioned the situation to him. He thought they were testing or updating the system. Well, it’s never worked properly since installation, and 80% of the tenants (the older ones, like wot I am) with hearing aids can’t hear the buzzer. I asked, Would it come through if someone actually called. It was presumed so! I pressed on the Winwood Foyer and called at the Warden’s Holding cell and Interrogation Office. I mentioned the intercom, the answer was low-key, matter-of-factedly answered. Not sure how long it will be off-line. I handed some nibbles around and made my way back to the intercom-less flat. (Or maybe not, no one knows if it will work if pressed by a proper caller, or how long the disruption will last or seem bothered in the slightest) Hey-ho! I’m too happy at the computer working again, to get all hot and bothered over the intercom. I called at Josie’s and told her the non-news I had gathered about the intercom. 1) They are upgrading the system. 2) They are backing up the system. 3) They are servicing the system. 4) It will take a few hours. 5) We’ve no idea how long it will take. 6) If anyone calls, it should work, but we’re not sure. She did laugh! ♥

4Thu15I finally got around to doing the graphics to let me carry on with the blogging. But it’s going to be a long job, so I had a change of heart, and started on this blog instead.

Hello, it’s looking dark early out there. Ah, it’s raining again.

Crikey, its15:30-hrs already! I got the kettle on again and tried the intercom, but it is still not working? Got on the computer to try and do some graphics.

But first, I got the mushroom and turnip sliced and in the pan, with some vinegar and light Soy sauce added to the water.

4Thu21a

WD 50.60.50 Then, finally, at last, I felt I needed a wee-wee! First if the day, hurrah! I hastened to the wet room, almost full of joy at getting rid of at least some of the fluid that must still stewing-away inside my ever-more bulbous stomach! Well, I’ve never wee-wee’d less, or so painfully in my memory! A new classification needed here. It was a DAPAO: Drip-Pain-And-Pain-All-Over job! I doubt it would have filled an eggcup! Tsk! Ah, well, it’s a start of sorts. I fear that things might well prove even more painful if it ever begins to flow again. In fact, Double Tsk!

I really must start on the graphics now. But, the sudden fatigue ruined my plans. I started coughing, and the sore throat got worse, and I decided I’ll have to do the template in the morning. I hate leaving things until the last minute, but Teddy Tiredness won the day!

I went to the kitchen and got the meal started, real-spare-ribs in the oven, and the mushrooms and turnip cooking in the saucepan. Then I took some pictures of the early evening sky.

5Fri02

Then got the handwashing done, wrung, and hung! For some reason, the hot water was not as hot as it should have been, but sufficiently so to do the washing. So, just in case the water heater was going on the blink, I filled some saucepans with water and got them on the stove on a low light, so as to have hot water for the pot-washing later. Did you notice that? Sometimes despite the weariness, the brain gets-it-together! I wish the body could do the same! Hahaha!  The pork ribs in sauce in the oven had some Sharwood’s Korean BBQ sauce was poured over it.

I noticed the sky was reddening a bit, so I took some more shots to compare with those taken fifteen minutes earlier.

5Fri005

Red sky at night, shepherds delight. This saying made me thing in the morning when I was updating this blog, and I had a look at some other weather proverbs;

  • Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.
  • Red sky at night, shepherds delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning.
  • When rain comes before the wind, halyards, sheets and braces mind, but when wind comes before rain, soon you may make sail again.
  • When dew is on the grass, no rain will come to pass.
  • When halo rings Moon or Sun, rain’s approaching on the run.
  • When the wind is out of the East, tis never good for man nor beast.
  • Cows lie down when it’s about to rain.
  • Pine cones open when good weather is on the way.
  • If the goose honks high, fair weather – If the goose honks low, foul weather.
  • When clouds appear like rocks and towers, the Earth’s refreshed, with frequent showers.

The majority of the proverbs regarding the weather, seem to have grown into rhymes.

5Fri01I got diverted there, sorry.

After yesterdays disastrous vegetarian ‘Ribz’ nosh was thrown away, I felt some doubt when I served up tonight’s proper spare rib in sauce meal. It did not look well presented, I’d put far too much sauce on the ribs, the garden peas and turnip was slightly overcooked, the mushrooms undercooked, and the tomatoes, being out-of-season were a little bitter tasting, but this was expected. Before we joined the Common Market as it was known then, I always looked forward to the arrival of new seasons Guernsey and Jersey tomatoes with great relish. We don’t even see them on the market nowadays! Boo!

In the final analysis, although and despite it looking a mess, I gave it a Flavour-Rating of 7/10. The only down-side apart from the poorly cooked vegetables was the absolute sticky-mess I made of my fingers, chest, belly and mouth, eating the ribs. But I licked the fingers dry, leaving an adhesive coating on them and my tongue, before going to wash the pots and me. Hehe!

I completed the pot washing, and moved, jiggled the drying clothes about a bit. Then took a much needed, but pathetic attempt at a wee-wee. A URPD (Ultra-Resistant-Painful-Dripping) mode. (Why I bothered, I’d get rid of more liquid when shaking Inchy after the event usually! Humph!) But things ain’t usual at the moment. I must get to see the doctor about this before the retained fluid causes my bladder to blow-up!

Despite, or perhaps because of, the day’s anxieties, problems, trials and tribulations, I found it almost impossible to get off to sleep. I was mentally worn-out, wearied and tired enough surely? The ups & downs, and my mind’s thought-blasts kept the brain far too occupied. I don’t know when it was I eventually nodded off but can remember the news coming on the TV, at 23:00hrs! My usual head-down time is around 16:00 > 17:00hrs. So, I’d been up for twenty-three hours of frustrating hassle.

And, the intercom is still not working. Not that this will bother anyone other than the affected uninformed of the situation Nottingham City Homes tenants!

Evenin’ all!

As if I needed a warning!

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.30B 01:35hrs: Woke, coughing, and feeling sorry for myself as the sore-throat seemed to be burning. I pondered a few seconds on what day it was, and the duties and desires needed to be completed, how and when they will be carried out logistically and physically.

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.30B But I was soon fumbling my way out of the recliner, caught my balance, grabbed the four-legged walking stick, and off to the Porcelain Throne. For perhaps one of the worst evacuations I’ve had in a while. The constant expectation of it starting lasted for a ten-minute crosswording session – and then things moved, a tiny bit, and stayed there! I felt like my body would split-open at any time! As eventually activity began, painfully, progressively and procaciously, I could either feel or sense the blood trickling through. Much later, the final uncontrollable burst of activity came, welcomingly quickly, the splash was unheard, I think things must have already been in the water before that final push. I stayed exactly where I was for a few moments, almost weary, but still glad things had been completed at last.

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.30B This feeling did not last long after I rose from the throne and saw the state of the Porcelain, which surprised me. The evacuated material had somehow disappeared altogether, leaving traces of itself and some splattered hæmorrhœa everywhere! I set about cleaning things and myself up. I must get some more of the haemorrhoid cream if I go out today.

All cleaned and refreshed, I returned to the recliner-room to investigate the state of it. Remarkably, no signs of nocturnal-nibbling, any dropped or spilt articles or items, but the reserve walking stick was not hanging on the door handle where I usually leave it? Not too bothered, I’m bound to come across it later. I tend to keep the short stick near the front door, and the reserve one on the kitchen or front door handle, and use the four-pronged stick, that many times, because it can be left standing of its accord so as to speak, I forget about it, and spreading the others around, means in the event of any Colly-Wobbles or Dizzy Dennis spells, I don’t have far to go to get support.

Doing this spreading around of the sticks actually makes me feel good. To me, it shows I still have some little logicality, lucidity, and smidges of organisational integrity and semi-clarity left in me. So my lethologica, absent-minded, forgetfulness, paramnesia moments, and waters of Lethe incidents don’t get to me so much. I think anyway! No doubt there will be more Whoopsiedangleplops which will test me later on. I believe that my tendency for such Whoopsiedangleploppery (Thanks to Tim Hancock, from New Mexico for this word), needs to be tackled, but who can anyone help in this?

3Wed001bI made a brew of strong flavoured Thompsons tea and took the morning medications.

Off to the computer, and had a dedicated session of updating the Tuesday post. The finger-tip-nerves were not too bad, and I pressed on determined to get the job finished in time for me to catch the 09:30hr L9 bus, to Arnold. And boy, did it take some doing! Tons of photographs to be loaded, edited in CorelDraw, and then be added to the blog. This task took me over five hours! But without many wee-weeing, which is making me worry a bit?

I then went on the TFZer Facebooking, another couple of hours. Then the WP reader section. Finally, turning everything off and going to get the ablutions sorted, as there was not much time left if I was to catch the bus.

There is missing writing here… the tag died one me, and I lost everything!

Re-written in the morning: I went to catch the bus and knew there would be a chance of my missing it. So I hastened down, and out along the front on Chestnut Walk to the bus stop. I had a jolly nattering session with others.

The L9 arrived within a couple of minutes. I got on the right bus for once (Hehe!) First time I’ve seen the bus fully-filled at out stop, before. All the side-saddle seats were taken up, and with trolleys taking up three of the spaces. I got a bruise or two getting my mass in a tangle with the three-wheeler getting into an ordinary seat. Most folks dropped off in Sherwood. I moved to a side-saddle seat, which was not comfortable with a James Hunt supporting driver.

3Wed001I had a viewing of the book on 1950’s cars loved in England. I had the urge to go somewhere other than the Asda-Walmart to do my shopping after they had let me down with the delivery, so I dropped off in Daybrook and went straight into the Sainsburys store. Which proved to be an expensive choice. Tsk!

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.30B I spent well over an hour strolling around, being assaulted bu other customers elbows, bags, shopping carts, having my feet trodden on, elbow bashing, and merely being walked into by a couple of them! It was a lesson, in future, I must not go into this store again: Their customers are violent and were not kind to me today. Haha!

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.30B At the self-serve checkout, I had an embarrassing few incidents of incidents. I gat ti putting the things through, and when it came to the DVD, it was locked in a security casing, so I asked an assistant, he said, “Not me, I’m off for a break, ask them!”, pointing in the  general direction of two young ladies having a natter. I stood patiently waiting for them to stop, which they did a few minutes later, and one of them shook her head up and said dominantly, “Yes?” I apologised for bothering her and handed her the DVD, and she offered an automatic smile, tutted, muttered, and went off to take the security tag off of the DVD. I returned to the cash-till, and a couple of more items were put though, as she returned and handed me the CVD-DVD, then went back to her natter with the other assistant. I carried on and got the things through. Taking care to position the heavy stuff for the trolley bag, and lighter goods for the carrier bag separately from each other.

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.30B When it came to paying the rather large bill of over £39, I put the digits in the card reader, and nothing happened. I signalled to the nattering assistant again, and she came over and gave me a look that said, “This old fart should not be allowed out on his own!” As she pointed out, that I had not inserted the card in the machine! I did feel the right Schmuck!

WDP 13cLWD 0.0.30B I thanked her, feeling a proper idiot, and carried on and paid. I struggled a bit to get the things into the bag and carrier, but the trolley seemed semi-stable as I was walking away, now having to rush a bit to get to the bus stop on time, I looked back to see if I had left anything on the checkout, and was extremely glad I did! I’d left the card in the machine! I returned to collect the cash-card. I spotted the ladies still deep in conversation, both offered me a look that spoke volumes, one of detestation and nauseousness. The other of guilt, perhaps at not noticing the card cock-up I made?

WDPH01LI came out of the store, feeling an even bigger shmo than earlier, and panicked a smidge, convinced I would now miss the bus. Fortunately, the L9 was a couple of minutes late, and I made it with about 30 seconds to spare. So, the day was mixed with some good and bad luck! A couple of Winwoodonian’s who got on the same bus pointed out how lucky I was!

3Wed01gaWDP 11LI got the receipt out and read through it on the way home. Surimi Royal fish, Graham’s whole organic milk, a can of gammon, a turnip, black beans, cough linctus (I can keep one in the shopping bag for when I’m out, the other in the kitchen. [Smug-Mode-Adopted]) baby beetroot, packets of mild chilli sauce, passata, roast cashew nuts, the DVD ‘We Die, Young’, a cheese baton, Dried onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and a pot of Magnesium tablets (Cramp-easers!) Unnervingly, I realised I had bought both a vegetarian and a proper meat packets of Pork Ribs in sauce. I do remember looking at them both but felt sure I got only the meat one… Obviously, I was wrong. Another bêtise on my behalf, Grumph! I’ll have this for tonight’s nosh, and get it out of the way. Otherwise, I’ll never eat it, served me right!

3Wed01fBack at the flats, I made my way through the link-passage into the big room. Where I stopped for a natter with a couple of folks. The fruit and veg man had not yet set-up his stall, so I thought I can always pop down again later. Which of course didn’t happen, I forgot all about it!)

I got the fodder put away, still annoyed at myself for getting two different pork ribs packs! I left the vegetarian one out for cooking, and put some mushrooms in the pan, and tomatoes ready for slicing and adding later. The imitation pork ribs, I must say, when I opened the packet, it looked and smelt good.

I got the not-meat in the oven. And set the timer to remind me to add the mushrooms, tomatoes and extra bbq sauce later. Sliced the tomatoes ready, and got on with the handwashing.

Which with the jammie-bottoms, took a little longer than planned. I stopped when the alarm sounded and put the extras in the tray, and back in the oven.

Then finished the washing and got it hung up.

3Wed01iI got the meal served-up on the serving tray, I used the oven dish instead of a plate, to save time washing up Hehe! It appeared to be tasty enough to me, with the tom’s and mushrooms, an apple the cheesy baton, and a can of Pepsi, I got settled into the recliner to feast! Full of contentment and anticipation.

WDP09LWD 0.0.30B 3Wed23What words can I use? What can I say? Just when I anticipated a royal feast and thought my allotriophagy had found success. The flavour and context, of the imitation pork, was disgusting! Deglutition was hard, especially with the sore throat. Most of this abhorrent meal was binned, and rightfully so! Oy-yoy-yoy, the disgustingest and indigestible, chronically bad-tasting vegetarian dish I’ve ever had! Eurgh! All sugary and sweet! My Taste-Rating of 1/10 is the best I can manage, I might as well of just ate a bag of sugar!

I threw away the ribs and loaf, but I did eat the tomatoes and mushrooms, with some milk roll bread. The cheesy baton, very hard crust, was too much for my sore throat and mouth ulcers to cope with. I settled down and wondered whether I should watch the DVD or some TV – not that it mattered, I fell asleep before making a decision!

Worra day!

WD 0.30.0b 23:00hrs: Having nodded off early last night, even for me, I stirred into imitation life, with a sore throat, runny nose, a raving thirst, and wind coming out of most of my bodily orifices! Yes, I’ve caught a cold.

I lay there on the Xyrophobia-suffering, house-breaking, Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later). The £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working-but not today, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner, pondering. Should I go to the After-Stroke Physio Session or not today? After hemming and hawing, this remains irresultative. Uncertain, undecided, and undetermined. I certainly don’t have any energy or desire to attend and be ridiculed and embarrassed by wearing the PPs and struggling with the pain of the exercises… Mmm? At the same time, I am the only one of the few patients, that has attended every meeting up to now. But it was so cold in that church hall last week… And they took the piss, silently, but I picked up on it, about my wearing the PP’s as they showed through the trousers… The of Arthur Itis Knees are giving me some stick, and I’ve not even got up on my feet yet, Oh, sod it. I’ll decide later.

I gingerly evacuated the recliner, caught my balance, grabbed the stick, and set off to the kitchen. Got the kettle on, and jiggled the handwashing done last night, and got them on the airers.

2Tue01I made a good-strong brew of the Thompson tea and took the medications.

Began on the computer to do the updating of the Monday post. The fingertips were a bit bothersome with losing sensitivity when touching anything hard, which meant it took a long time to get done, five hours! However, the internet signal was doing alright for me, up to now. I sent it off to WordPress and then went on the Reader Section.

2Tue02aThe Porcelain Throne was needed, and I got to the wet room in plenty of time for once. Not so messy this time at all, but lots of it again, and a bit of bleeding afterwards. However, Little Inchy was not leaking or bleeding, that was good! I changed PP’s and had a close look at the plates-of-meat, after their treatment yesterday. Now I have got to remember to go back in two weeks, to book the next appointment. I’ll put it in the Google Calendar now… All done! I’ll make a Morrison order methinks for next week, while I think of it, and I have time to now, with getting up so ridiculously early again. My EQ tells me to expect tsuris today. So maybe it would be best not to go to the Physio session? Anyway, I’ll get the order made up. All done!

2Tue04WD 0.30.0b A brew and some flakes, now I’ll get the ablutions done. An amazingly good session this morning. Erm, only two things dropped. Oh, yes! The razor (6), and the soap (3)… oh, and the toothbrush (3).

It got a  bit repetitive, I must say! Humph!

2Tue05WDP 08R02aI got myself ready for the walk in the rain and dark to catch the bus. I piled three rubbish bags on the trolley, and put some cleaned jars for the glass recycling bin. Down and out to Robert’s (Caretaker) area. And despite my best efforts to take a viewable picture of the bin, with only my three sauce bottles, and every other one an alcoholic beverage of some sort. And again, I spotted an empty Absyinth bottle when the flash-flashed, so as to speak. This was the best of several tries, I’ll have to consult Tim Price about this. I’ll beg him to share his expert photographicalisational skills. Many photographs were taken in the dark this morning, and really came put dark, but not all of them. I’m a tad confused as to what I was doing wrong. I was using the Canon camera, as well!

The first photo from outside Woodthorpe Court, on Chestnut Walk. Second, a shop of when I pushed the three-wheeler-guide through a puddle, to clean the wheels before I got on the bus. Oh, I am a good boy! The last one of a Nottingham City Homes -repair van shooting up the hill to the flats, which caught me out! It was about five past seven in the morning, so, either they had an emergency to go to, or they may have left their fags or Guinness in a flat yesterday, maybe? Hahaha! I’m a witty boy, too! (Well, perhaps not!)

The bus arrived, and had to overpay again! With Xyrophobia-suffering, house-breaking, Brother-in-Law Pete half-inching my loose change, and the notes and collectables as well, by the way. Thanks, Peter! The driver did his best to have me on the floor, but I managed to get into a side-saddle seat, alright. As the bus filled up, I was so proud of my dodging any injuries from the Nottinghamian hoards that got on the bus. I decided cunningly, that once in the city I’ll call at Tesco first for bread and Flaky-Pastry fingers. Then out of the shopping centre into Milton Street and down to the Poundland shop, that should be open by then. Before hobbling to the St Andrew’s with Castle Gate URC Church. The rain made me move a little quicker than I would have liked.

2Tue08aI took a snap of the giant electronic advertising board as I crossed the road after getting off of the bus. This turned out to be another of the extremely dark for some reason pictures? It baffled me, why? I walked the length of the mall to the other end, and into Tesco. No rush, I had plenty of time, so I went on a bargain or treat hunt! Which took some time. I came put with: Treats for Christmas (I just hope the bomb works for Brother-in-Law Pete!) Hahahaha, only joking, honest! Milk Roll bread, pack of puff-pastry fingers, and some biscuits for the gang at the After-Stroke Physio Torture, I mean session.

WD 0.30.0b I had a mini-funny-turn as I left the checkout. But it was not a prolix or sustained one, though, and I was back on the hobble within minutes – out into the wet, drenched Milton Street. I’m a bit of a pluviophile, but the wind and cold with the precipitation took the edge off of my enjoyment. Especially with trying to control the guide and the umbrella! Made my way to Parliament Street Poundland store.

I got some nibbles for the break at the physio, some orange chocolate digestives for myself, some cough and cold medicine/linctus for children, that might help ease my sore throat. I paid at the self serve-tills, and stood outside under the cover and took some photographs of Parliament Street to the left and right.

4Thu08eOff to the church hall, and found there were eight stroke-survivors there already, and the nurse and Obergruppenfurheress team leader. I handed the nibbles on the counter in the kitchen area.

The gang didn’t seem to keen when I asked a few of them of they were doing alright. Precious answered me though, lovely woman, who later I was paired with again, for the exercises along with the Nigerian lady who is still struggling with the language. Still, smiles and laughs helped the three of us to communicate. Doing the bending of the knees exercise’s were excruciating, not that anyone other than I was interested. Haha! Precious and the other gal and I, still managed a few giggles.

WDP09LWD 0.30.0b When we moved on from the stepping up routine to the sit and stand one, I wanted to tell the nurse I could not cope with it, but foolishly persevered, until I fell over missed the chair, fell over and took the trolley guide down with me. They were anxious and concerned for me… they ask me, “How did you do that?” – I told them I didn’t know, and the nurse told me to leave this exercise out and just sit there until you move on to the next one!” I sat there until I moved on to the next one! Oy Vey!

When the to me silly gentle music and a voice speaking so low I cannot hear them session started, I moved away, which did not go down too well. I was sorry, but a voice (even if I could listen to it), telling me to think of a beach, and the water and sunshine, dangle your feet in the… You get the idea? It does not calm me down, I was already calm, despite my clattering to the floor and being soaking wet. Hehe!

We had drinkies, and the nibbles were handed out. This week they were soon wolfed-down and pleased me muchly. In the games of bowls, the two gals who were partnered with me earlier won a game each, Smashing! I made sure the others joined my clapping and congratulating them. It cheered them both up a little, and I felt great!

Unfortunately, once again, we finished the session, just as the L9 bus would be leaving Queen Street. So I had another hour to wait for the next one. I said my farewells, got wet and a hundred yards or so down the road, and returned for the carrier bag of fodder I’d left in the hall. What a Yutz I am!

I hobbled down to the slab square. I took photographs from left to the right.

WD 0.30.0b Then I went into the book shop on Long Row – a fatal move. I spotted a 1950’s book on the cars of the time. Of course, I bought it! Tsk!

2Tue31

2Tue18I made my way to Queen Street and decided to catch the 40 bus. It was only a few minutes before the L9 was due, but this bus gets close to the flats in about ten-minutes quicker than the L9 does. Mind you, I then have to tackle crossing the road on the steep hill and sharp bend, but still, I enjoyed getting soaked again, waiting for a gap in the traffic! Oh, dearie me!

2Tue26I got down Chestnut Walk eventually, the. And took this picture of Winwood Heights in the rain.

WD 0.30.0b Then I dropped the umbrella after taking the photo, and it could not have landed more perfectly, right on my corn! Argh!

2Tue27As I limped on towards home. I had to get off of the pavement, to avoid getting some of the thousands of leaves on the wheels of the trolley guide. Then having to spend ages in the rain cleaning it up to get it free of detritus enough to go inside the flats.

WD 0.30.0b So, I walked in the roadway, through an unseen puddle! And ended up with squelching sounds coming from the socks and shoes!

At this stage, my confidence and willpower were being tested to the full! And I was losing! Hahaha!

2Tue28I got to in through the Winwood Court lobby and walked along the link-passage into Woodthorpe Court. By gum, it was cold in the Woodthorpe Court lift lobby! Where the lads were working still, on the Fire Sprinkler installation, as you can see in the picture here.

2Tue30Up in the lift, and into the flat. The thirst was still at its height, and I got the kettle on to have a mug of Thompson tea and took the evening medications.

I pondered about what to do next. The Asda delivery is due, but not until 1830 > 2030hrs.

I didn’t need any wee-wees (A little worrying that!) I decided to have milk roll sarnies, ham and tomatoes, and maybe a few chips? But not until the fodder had been delivered.

I set about updating this blog. The fingers, arm, shoulder, and right leg were not wicked at all? I worked away like a good un, for about five hours, then at long last, I needed a wee-wee. A disappointing VWYSAO (Very-Weak-Yet-Spraying-All-Over), but very little actually flowed?

I heard some banging and knocking, and went to see if the Fire Sprinkler lads were in the lobby, but it was some carpet fitters doing Josie’s new floor covering. I nipped out with a mini-bottle of Gordon’s Gin for her. She asked me if I was trying to get her drunk. I replied, “Oh, yes!” Hahaha!

2Tue29I had a look-out from the crumbling balcony, to see if any fireworks were going off to photograph yet, but there were none in sight.

I imagine they will be on show later on. But will I stay awake long enough?

WD 0.30.0b Half an hour later, it was getting very murky out there, but no signs of any Guy Fawkes festivities yet. I took a shutter-priority and Night view picture of roughly the same area. Oh, heck, they did come out disappointingly!

2Tue32

2Tue42The intercom would not let me view the entrance door at all! But it did show No missed calls and Do Not Disturb option not chosen. So, had the Asda delivery arrived, I think I should have heard or seen the light come on?

As the Asda-Walmart delivery was awaited, I took some shots of the fireworks.

2Tue41

The last one of the above is only of the moon: I missed the rockets going up. Huh!

I made the sarnies and bagged them and back into the fridge for after the Asda-Walmart delivery arrives. I put the TV on with subtitles and watched it in silence, not wanting to miss hearing the food coming. Hours later, I was wondering if they had delivered to the wrong flat?

WDPright05a2Tue43WD 0.30.0b So, I checked on the Emails, to find this on there from Asda! I was gutted!

All the staying up late and depriving myself of sleep again! Mind you, other retailers have done this to me before, with no real reason. Tesco (2), Morrison (1) Iceland (3), and this is the second time that Asda-Walmart has let me down. I can get melancholy, cynical, distrustful, curmudgeonly, suicidal, and mardy, you know! He-he!

2Tue44Pee’d off with things now! I got the sarnies put did the chips and piled other stuff on the plate. Until I saw this photo, I wasn’t sure what I had attempted to eat.

WD 0.30.0b I was feeling irritated and belligerent! But as for eating, this did not happen, I fell asleep, wakinWDP 13eRg four hours later, finding that I had tipped the whole meal into the waste bin, all the fodder, fork and spoon included! I was struggling to breathe, the sore throat and cough started off… More to follow on tomorrows revealing episode of, The Nottingham Lads True Tales of Woe. Unless I snuff it, but that’s only to be expected!

WDP 12c23:00hrs: Already awake, after cleaning up the mess from my leaving the potatoes boiling while I fell to sleep! I did the handwashing and then got on the computer to update yesterday’s diary. I got on with the task. Due to a little relief from the nerve-ends jumping and sensing, I pressed on until it was finished!

1Mon02WD 125.0.0 Stopped to make a brew and take the medications. To find that yet again I had missed taking the evening dosages! However, I didn’t feel the usual self-hating and annoyance that I would generally hold. I knew it was only due to the Whoopsiedangleplop of my letting the potatoes boil over and having to clean it all up last night! (That’s my excuse!) I 1Mon03took the morning’s medications, with just a Simvastatin and the Warfarin tablets from those missed off.

WD 125.0.0 I nearly gave myself an injection of the Enoxaparin, but thankfully realised they had been stopped and I didn’t need one. How I could have thought I did need one, remains a mystery. Fool!

I got the Nikon camera, and took three shots of the morning view, in.

Shutter-Priority, all I can see is dots? Aperture-Priority, gone all non-coloured? And Auto mode, blurry. Just to see what, if anything would come out differently. And they certainly did!

I must not forget to go to the Podiatrist session at the Sherwood Health Centre later, I’ll check the time on the Google calendar.

1Mon04

Ah, 11:50hrs. Horrible timing that, it means I’ll be incapable of doing anything mentally pr physically afterwards, apart from nodding-off, I seem to have become quite adept at that. Harf-Harf!

I finished the updating and went on the WordPress reader for a bit. The ever-present drowning, humming noise all around, suddenly started to get to me. Humph!

I made an Asda order, wth mostly Christmas pressies on it, for next Tuesday delivery.

WDP 10LWD 125.0.0 I went to fetch the money bag for the bus fare for this mornings ride into town for the After-stroke Physio Session, and what a clot I felt. I’d actually forgot that Xyrophobia-suffering crook Brother-in-Law Pete, had stolen all of my cash when he was flat-sitting (robbing!), while I was in the hospital after the stroke! Sugar-Plumb Swine! So I had no bus fare. I’ll have to walk it to town now! Gobble-shacks!

I’d better get the stand-up ablutions done. Tsk! I am a clot, it’s not Tuesday, but Monday today! It gets wicked when you don’t even know what day it is! So change of plans; Get the ablutions proper done – and get a bus into Sherwood, get change for the bus, to Wilkos for some freshener and bleach, then on to the Sherwood Health Centre Podiatry appointment, for 111:50hrs.

The ablutions went reasonably well. The dropsies were a little numerous, mind; The toothbrush, razors (2), shaving foam, soap (4), flannel (2), the sock-glide, shower spray (2) and towel. The sock-glide battle was lost, apart from dropping it while positioning the frame for insertion of the right foot, I ended up with a few new bruises. Humph! But the shave and wee-wee were bloodless! The pins, well, see for yourself.

1Mon08Got myself dressed and freshened up. Took the black bags to the waste chute. Then went down in the lift to talk to and see the Wardens, but none were in the room. So I dropped the PPs in through the new kitchen in the Winwood room. Popped into the big social area, and dropped the PPs off in the kitchen window. Noticed some stuff for sale?

Back to the flat, and had a look outs1Mon09ide through the Al Fresco area door. It was awfully wet out there. Haha! Got back to the flat, and Josie brought the tray and plate back from yesterdays nosh. I am mostest pleased to report that after interrogation, she revealed that she enjoyed the smoked haddock and cheesy-potatoes. So, I’ll do some more next week.

A quick update on this blog, and out again to catch the bus. I left a message about the PPs at the warden’s room and carried on out to the bus stop. A pleasant round of chinwags, moans, complaints, snide remarks and much laughter was enjoyed.

WDP 13cLWD 125.0.0 I got on the bus and settled in a side-saddle-seat, then realised I was on the wrong bus! I vacated the vehicle, feeling an even bigger fool, much to the mixed amusement and derision of the tenants still out at the bus stop! Hehehe! I knew things went in threes. So the getting up thinking it was Tuesday, not Monday, then getting on the wrong bus left one more to come. (It didn’t take long!)

WDP 13bLWD 125.0.0 I got on the other bus behind, for just a few stops, and got off in Sherwood. I missed the stepping off of the bus but avoided going over, although the three-wheeled-walker did it’s best to topple over. This was when the third Proper-Whoopsie happened, I gleaned that the reason for my near tumble, was that I had the wrong spectacles on, the reading glasses! I was glad that third in the series had come and gone! Hehe!

I ambled along to the bank, to get some change for the bus fares. (Thanks, Stubble-Pete, for knicking all my cash and causing me so much hassle) If there is anything I can do for you, like break your arm, cut your plonker-off, or rearrange your facial features, just let me know!

WDP09LWD 125.0.0 Could I remember my number? Not to start with! Waiting in the queue, I did my best to remember it, but the paper I have the number clandestinely written down on was not in my pocket! Nor was the mobile phone. Nor was the £30 I was sure was in the coat top pocket last night! I was getting into a state here. I let others go forward ahead of me as I continued to try and remember the digits, where the mobile and money was… then Eureka and Buggermaquilt! From nowhere, the four number came to mind – but of course, were they the right ones? I moved to the counter, much to the displeasure of the person behind, who must have been expecting me to let him go in front of like I had to several other folks, and offered me a lout Tut-tut as I left him. Haha! I had to ask the teller-lady for some cash as well as the coins. Now, and at the back of my mind was, ‘Where is the mobile, what have I done with it? But all priority-wise, behind the worry of, “Are these figures that have come into my mind, the right ones? They worked! I avoided any, cachinnation or shouts of joy!

WDP 08LWD 125.0.0 I got the gelt from the lady, thanked her and proceeded to have a Dizzy Dennis spell as I hobbled to the door. I got to the wall, clinging onto the three-wheeler, and pretended to be casually waiting about, I read some of the notices on the wall. I could tell that the money-seekers in the waiting queue were all concerned for me… well, I got a few looks of incredulity, that said to me, “The senile old fart shouldn’t be allowed out on his own!” And the odd sneer from some of them. As I left a few minutes later, I was a smidge concerned about how things would go, but I needn’t have worried, once outside and limping up the hill, everything was fine, no signs of any dizzies, or wobbles at all? Perhaps the worrying about the number had brought the spell on? Hey-ho!

1Mon09aWDP 12dOver the road and to the Wilko store. Where I stocked up with, Dettol Disinfectant spray, Ylang laundry freshener, bleach and some yoghourt peanuts. Paid the bill, and the lady at the checkout, kindly put the things into the bag for me. Help like this is so precious and appreciated. Strangers, young ones at that, showing a bit of empathy, really restores my faith in youngsters. Very welcome, appreciated and kind!

Out up to the top of the hill1Mon09b, and right down Elmswood Gardens and into the Sherwood Health Centre.

WDPright04The welcoming smile of the young female receptionist, who remembered my name, and what I was going to the centre for! Bless her, this cheered me up!

I got ensconced in the Podiatry waiting area and had a bash at the crosswords. Not very successfully, though! The lady came out to call me in. She did the tootsies while having a chinwag, and was done in no time. She told me to see my Doctor about the Clopidogrel induced excessive spider and varicose veins and the risk of Thrombophlebitis. (I asked how to spell it, and made a note! Thank you muchly!

1Mon10AS I got to the bus shelter in Sherwood, things got a little dark, and I anticipated some heavy rain is due. But it held off.

While waiting for the bus, I listened to some of the Winwood Heights gals at the bus stop nattering as best I could. They all seemed very content today.

1Mon11Back at the flats, I waited until last and dismounted the bus. Made my way in the Windwood Court entrance, and down the link-passage. As I ambled with the three-wheeler along the corridor, I could see how the sunshine has come out again at the far-end windows.1111

I met with Christine at the Woodthorpe Court lift lobby, and along with a new tenant chap, we went up in the elevator. Chap 2nd floor, me 12th and offered Chrissie my best wishes, as she went up to the 13th level. I got inside the apartment, and put the nuts and stuff away, kettle on, and took the evening medications. A little early I know, but having missed the last two evening-dosages, I was being cautious.

1Mon13I put the roast vegetable risotto ready nosh in the oven as soon at it reached temp.

Got some mushrooms in the saucepan and added a drop of Sukang Puti vinegar. Got them simmering. Then added some black bean cooking sauce, and some sliced tomatoes and gave it all a good stirring.IMG_2606

Slowly adding some onions and basil. The rather delightful aroma of this sauce, that needed constant attention, was making me even hungrier, and this was just the flavouring. The risotto in the oven had a good proportion of caramelised red onion in it. Mmm!

An interruption arrived, it was some mail. I could not help but smile at the Repairs booklet. After being told every day for nine days that someone would come out to tend to my lack of hot water, and nobody did! Staying in from 08:00hrs to 22:00hrs every day, in vain hopes they would arrive. No sleep. Made myself poorly with it all, and reading the statement, somehow I found it hard to grasp and believe that improvements will come!

Josie rang the bells, to return the cutlery tray etc. from her nosh yesterday. I inquired if she had liked the smoked haddock cooked the way it was, and she said yes. So now I know, we can have it the same way next Sunday. So glad she liked it.

I added the sauce mix to the oven dish and got the sourdough baguette in the oven.

Then I got the jumper hung and got the socks on the airers.

1Mon16I got the meal prepared. It didn’t look appealing, just like the earlier ones didn’t, but my gum, it tasted delicious! I masticated, savoured and slurped away at it for ages, enjoying every mouthful!

Flavour Rating, 9.35/10.

1Mon12WDP 01b rightWD 125.0.0.a After dining, I took the meal things, tray, dish cutlery etc. to be washed… had an imitation Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance routine from the Peripheral Neuralgia affected right leg, and sadly, dropped the whole darned lot on the floor! Worse still, I nearly lost my balance and went over, but luckily the door frame got in my way. Tsk! Got it all cleaned up, not that it was all that bad, case there was no food to spill, only a few (thousands of tiny ones!) bread crumbs! The dish had been wiped almost dry and licked, it was that good! No more left now, I must get a Morrison order done for next week and get some more in. No other shop sells them.

WDP sleepLSettled in the Xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting, when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later), £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. I got the headphones on, and the TV going… ZZZ!

1Mon01a

19:35hrs: Having gotten myself in a right pickle with the time, woke, and decided to stay up anyway. Give me a chance to get the updating done early, for once. I expelled my lumberingly well-upholstered, broad in the beam, well-padded and upholstered body from the chair. The Brother-in-Law damaged while he was flat sitting, fitting new CCTC cameras, and searching for my valuables, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and almost rotting-away recliner. And utilised the overused, but so appreciated, GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket). I was caught out with the CMOUSTSTBO (catching-me-out-unwilling-slow-to-start-then-blasting-out) style of the evacuation.

WD 50.100.200. I got the handwashing sorted and hanging to dry. Needing to divert to the Porcelain Throne, off I went to the wet room. A very similarly affected releasing session as the last one. That had to be encouraged painfully. The shape of an H-Bomb, that explained the effort needed, and discomfort suffered. Tsk!

It was far too early to take the medications, and I had a drink of orange flavoured spring water instead of tea. I began to do the updating. By gum, it took a long while. I can’t blame Mr Fries, the $19m salaried obnoxiously uncaring boss of Liberty-Global Virgin Media this time. It was the fingertips insensitivity to contact that was the problem. The jerking shoulder and shaking hands were giving me a break, a rest, though. After much correcting and rewriting and few not-nice, ungenerous, silent words of discontent with the fingers, I eventually got the job done and posted it off.

I went on the WordPress reader section. Not a lot on today, mind you, it is the weekend. (See how quickly I grasped that? Hehe!)

I went to the kitchen and took the medications. Then made my first mug of Glengettie tea of the day! It was so welcome!

00:40hrs: Then, I made a start on this diary. The fingers and their tips were still giving me a bit of hassle, and have started doing a bit of responsive to touch electric-like jumping. This started when I was making the brew and is continuing. Makes it hard work, just typing.

I went on TFZer Facebooking, but it was hard work getting the photos in thanks to the nonconforming fingers. I got it done, but still in need of checking, by 02:45hrs. The wee-wees during the session on Facebook, varied from LHLB (Long-Hosepipe-Like-Blasting) to SSWS (Short-Weak-Sprinkly), with variations in between! Along with the fingertips, they are wearing me out. Tsk!

I made a fresh brew of Glengettie, and some dunked biscuits, taking a breather. (Poor old thing, Haha!) Too sweet, Eurgh!

I felt suddenly drained. So got yet another mug of tea, and settled to watch a ‘Rumpole of the Bailey’ DVD, in the hopes that I could nod-off again. I managed the odd few minutes here and there.

6Sat03I had to go to the Porcelain Throne. I checked the pins as I got up, and they were giving me some grief, well, the right one was. They didn’t seem so anaemic looking, which was good. The session was a repeat of the first one. So, glad to say, not a lot of mess to clean up again. I washed the dandies and went to the kitchen.

5Sat01Feeling a tad betterer, I got the potatoes in the saucepan salted and vinegared and got the last of the pod peas, the last of the season perhaps podded, and in the crock-pot with a little demerara sugar and balsamic vinegar flavouring.

I may be able to get some more, but the fruit & veg woman said the season is now over. Sad-Mode-Adopted!

Sad for an addict like wot I am. Haha! I may find some Pisum Sativum variety still in season, I’ll try to find some!

6Sat03aWhile searching the web for the fresh-pod pea season months, I came across this recipe for pod peas. Interesting, but maybe not for me, methinks. Sister Jane might fancy it, though? Her early years living in Sicily, seem to have left her with a desire and craving for anything pasta, oily and rice. Her mushroom Risotto is really special, scrumptious! She made one for me in 1969, I can still taste it! Hehe!

09:25hrs: I then began the marathon graphicalisationing session. A big, long, arduous job. I stopped to make a brew and have a wee-wee and took photographs of the morning view. On the left, I took a shot of the student’s accommodation flats in town. The right, a picture of the City Hospital compound.

6Sat02a

I did not get all of the graphics done, but they are some ready to work on in the morning. The fingers are just to bad to do any more on the computer. I did get carried away earlier, compiling some words for the odes, and saved them on Excel. I got nothing else achieved other than Graphicalisationing, and that took far too long, thanks to the nerve-damaged finger-ends!

Sister Jane rang, and a natter was enjoyed, but the content of it was not sinking in, I was so tried-out, and the mind ridden with graphicalisationing problems. Going bonkers, is not as easy as people may think. Haha!

Believe it or not, but it is already 16:00 hrs. The nosh to get sorted now and turned off the computer. Knackered! Shattered! Neurasthenia-suffering! Tensed-up! Weary! Confused!  And Mentally Drained!

6Sat22The fodder was fine, all bar the podded peas. They had been in the crock-pot for over eight hours, and were not cooked anywhere near enough! Grumble-Moan! I suppose it is because they are at their seasons-end? The tomato sarnies in the Milk Roll bread were fine, as were the chips, beetroot and mini-pork-pie. The apple was a disappointment, soft, almost crumbly. I’m considering writing a letter of complaint to the Chilean Agricultural Department. Hehe! Most unpleasant! So, the best overall flavour-rating I can give is 4/10 overall. And the sarnies, chips and beetroot saved the day score-wise. What am I waffling on about, here? Tsk!

Sleep, became the main target now, I really was not feeling well at all. When I went to wash the pots, Dizzy Dennis attacked. I was not in good shape at all afterwards. Delicate is the best word to describe how I felt. Humph!

I looked outside, as the sun came out for one final burst before the light dimmed with fantastic speed. I appreciated the beauty and power of nature and sank into depression as for some reason, the Brexit farce came into my mind. But soon faded, as the eyelids began to feel so heavy.

6Sat21

Despite having so many Freeview channels on the goggle-box, there was nothing I wanted to fall-asleep to watching on offer! (Apart from Kitchen of Hell, but that was on far too late for me). So, the Rumple of the Bailey DVD went in the player.

My mentally-dilapidated, content-resisting brain soon found the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious escape of sleep! And I slept through for seven uninterrupted (No wee-wee demands!) hours! Bliss!

00:35hrs: I seemed to wake up, and dexterously, suantly almost effortlessly, seamlessly, edged my way out of the Brother-in-Law damaged, while he was flat-sitting and installing clandestine CCTC cameras, as he searched around for my valuables, while I was in hospital, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, rickety, gungy-beige-coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating, rotting-away recliner, to have a wee-wee.

WD 0.0.30B The moment my legs bared the mass of weight of me, Arthur Itis was there again, giving me painful grief! Dizzy Dennis paid a short visit. Then Anne Gyna threw in her penneth of throbbing and stinging, to the melee of discomfort! The innards were hardened, very-slowly rumbling and aching.  It told me the constipation was likely getting worse. Ah, well, no use complaining. (Although I was tempted, haha!)

The wee-wee was a bit of a hindrance too. In the ELDWWIEE (Extra-Long-Dribbling-When-Will-It-Ever-End) style.

WD 0.0.30B As I made my way to empty and clean the grey-bucket, I had to divert to the Porcelain Throne. Gotten Himmel! A marathon session timewise. Although I did manage to free things in the end, it was harsh and painful, almost pernicious, going! Still, on the bright-side, there was little cleaning up needed afterwards, amazingly no bleeding, either. And at least I have passed something, at last, two giant torpedoes! I needed to rest a moment or two before standing up again. I don’t know how there was room for them, even with my generously proportioned stomach! Hehehe!

4Thu22The legs were looking a bit betterer. The odd mark on the right leg above the Arthur Itis-ridden right knee was fading like I predicted it would. At least I know know what is causing them to appear (I think). According to the results, from Stroke Doctor Senthil K Ragunathan, it is Clopidogrel, whatever that is. I’ll look it up. Here is what Google tell us: USES: Clopidogrel is used to prevent heart attacks and strokes in persons with heart disease (recent heart attack), recent stroke, or blood circulation disease (peripheral vascular disease). It is also used with aspirin to treat new/worsening chest pain (new heart attack, unstable angina) and to keep blood vessels open. So, that must have been the medicine allergy I got in the hospital. When the blotches first started on the body? The pins were a different colour to each other again, as well!

I cleaned and sanitised the bucket, washed again, and got to the kitchen. Where I moved the hanging handwashing to the airer. Took the medications, and an extra Senna. (Must get some more in stock)

It took me until 0435ish, to get the updating done for the Thursday blog. I sent an Email to Jane & Pet. Hope they are alright, Pete has trouble with the car, so not too worried. But my EQ told me Jane was het-up or had problems. So I asked her to email me back. Then I got the post sent off to WordPress. Then went on their Reader Section.

5Fri02I made a start on this posting.

Time to get the ablutions done, so I can get the first bus in time, and get the spuds, peas and eye spray.

WD 0.0.30B The session was full of Dropsiegangleplops, far too many to remember, soap, toothpaste, shaving gel can, the razors several times, paper towels, toothbrush, etc., and more.

5Fri007Cressed and took the black bags to the waste chute, then down and along the passageway through Winwood Court and to their lobby.

WD 0.0.30B The door to the benches outside was still not working. Some cleaning stuff had been left out in the alleyway. The artwork on the walls, avant-garde, present-day, advanced, and modernistic, not my style at all, it breaks up the monotony as you walk along.

Got to the Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Wardens new holding cells, Malcolm was in there with all three NHS staff. Deana was busy on the phone, we others had a chinwag, and I offered out the nibble-bag.

As I left to go to the bus stop, two ladies were sat there. I had a natter and laugh with Mary. Then went to the bus stop, for a more significant bit of verbalisationing, moaning, complaining and laughter, flowed! I caught the L9, the others all got off in Sherwood apart from Margaret (who helped with the crsswords for me again!) and hubby, Caroline from the top home and me, who went to Arnold. Where I got off and made my way to the Market Place.

5Fri007cThe fresh pod peas had now finished, and the season ended! Sob! I got some potatoes for Joycie’s and my nosh on Sunday. Then I went to Asda (Walmart).

On my way in, people from the Arnold Food Bank gave me a list of foods they were in need off. I hobbled around and got a few bits to donate on the way. I got to the self-serve tills and put everything through, but the card would not be accepted. After several tries, the staff moved me to another counter, and I had to pay with cash. A bit worrying, that.

5Fri019aI came out with mushrooms, tomatoes, crisps and canned meat and fish extra, and handed them to the Food Bank people. The trolley bag was overfull and the carrier ladened with fodder for myself.

I made my way to the bus stop on High Street, and within 10 seconds of my arrival, the bus came! Phew! In Sherwood on the way home, we picked up Margaret and Hubby, with a few other Winwood Heights tenants.

I got off the bus last, as is usual, to avoid getting in the way of other more nimble residents. All the others had long gone, back into their Winchester Flats. I walked to the Winwood Courts door, and Doris joined me, we chatted and had a laugh en route.

5Fri11The door out to the benches in the new passageway to Woodthorpe Court was still not working.

Doris and I were like a couple of schoolchildren in the lift, laughing and joking. Hehehe! I alighted the elevator, and farewells were wished!

All I was good for was sleeping! The regular drained and weary feeling came over me even earlier than normal today.

5Fri10I did spot a Birthday card in the hallway that came on Wednesday, shoved through the door, that I had put on the radiator on my way out, and had forgotten all about, as I entered. It was from Part-time Cat-Walk fashion Model, and Obergruppenführeress, Warden Deana. I must remember to thank her. That’s two cards this year, same as last year. Not everyone can claim that at my age! Jane and Deana, just a part of my many female fan club. Hehehe!

5Fri20WD 0.0.30B I got the chips in the oven, and cleaned the wheels of the three-wheeler trolley, now hoodless, and with lousy breaks! I’ll have to go take a look at what they have on offer at the Scootermania shop in the morning. If I remember, that is! Phwert!

WD 0.0.30Bacci As I was cleaning the kitchen floor with the long brush and dustpan, my foot caught the corner of the cabinet stack. This loosened the things on top, and some of the items came tumbling down, on my head! Thank heavens I don’t keep anything heavy up there. Phew! Medication pods and some olive oil bottles (plastic) were all that fell, and they just bounced off of my head without any injury and hid cunningly under the other cabinets.  Although it made me jump a bit! Hahaha!

5Fri08I rang Sister Jane and Pete, as I had not had a reply to my email asking if they were alright. But they were fine, I’ glad to say, the EQ was wrong!

I got the nosh served up. And a feast of flavour it was too! Well worth the Flavour Rating I gave it of 8.8/10! Got the pots washed.

I put on a Rumpole of the Bailey DVD to watch and settled. Much to my pleasure and delight, after a couple of episodes, I drifted off into slumberland! Great!

When I woke, convinced it was morning or thereabouts, I rose, freeing my over-abundant body from the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, rickety, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, recliner, and took a wee-wee, of the LRWS (Long-Reluctant-Weak-Sprinkly) mode in the GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket).

5Fri11Got the handwashing done, and took a photo of what at the time I believed was the morning sky! This was when it dawned on me, and I checked the second-hand bargain £2 charity shop bought wristwatch, (With the £10 replacement strap, and £10.95 battery) for the time. 07:30hrs. I put on the computer to find out it was 19:30 hours!

So, the day had started far too early! Humph!

Inchcockski – Sunday 25th August 2019: A confusing, action-limited Sunday

Sunday 25th August 2019

Welsh: Dydd Sul 25ain Awst 2019

Born this day: Thomas Shaun Connery – The Best James Bond

03:20hrs: I woke up, with only the need for a wee-wee on my mind! I hastily (well in about five-minutes), got myself free of the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, rickety, gungy-beige coloured,  c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, ramshackle, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating, rotting-away, recliner. To the salvationalistical GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket), and had a much needed USBUWSS (Ultra-Slow-But-Uncontrollable-Weak-Sprinkly) wee-wee. I was amazed at how full the bucket was. Considering I can only recall getting up to use it the once, and regretted that Arthur Itis was playing-up again!

WD 250.0.250 The brain was soon filled with a stampede of unwanted thoughts. Full of worries, fears, forebodings, misgivings, doubts, uncertainties and a mangled-confusion of plans that I knew would never work, and should never even have been considered! My EQ was in there somewhere, advising me that I was about to do something stupid, and needed to control my thoughts and actions! The message from was unambivalent, univocal, incontestable and unmistakable this time. A genuine warning, an alarum that ensured I would do my best, to be aware and apperceptive from here on. I’ve never had a more explicit EQ message before! I began to feel a tad uncomfortable, and thought I was squirming, wriggling and writhing inside? This was not good.

WD 250.0.250 I grabbed the stick, and somewhat painfully (the knees of Arthur) walked to the kitchen. I got the kettle on, and had to return to the bucket again! This time it was a wee-wee of the WYSAO (Weak-Yet-Spraying-All-Over) variety, I had to be patient waiting for it to end, but at least I knew when this one had done. Haha!

Back t the kitchen, made a brew and had to divert to the wet room to use the Porcelain Throne. Another ‘flash-bang-all-over’ evacuation. Not so much cleaning up to do after this one. Washed the dandies and back to the kitchen. I took the medications with tea today.

I got the computer going to update yesterday’s post. I checked the emails first, and one from Jenny had come in. Bless her, she’d bought a Continental loaf on Saturday from the Oran shop, and Frank didn’t like it. She knows I do, and had left it on the door handle in a bag for me. How kind was that!  I must have been sleeping when she came, cause I didn’t hear the ‘I only want to be with you’ door chime. I replied to the email thanking her kindly.

I’ll just have sarnies tonight then, with that bread. Buttered, sliced tomatoes and some cooked meat, and the peas and mushrooms as a side! Getting hungry at the thought of it.

Then…

Virg 255.0.255

Makes you sick! Weekend again! Fries garbage-service, again! Utter crap! And the bullying pathetically-incompetent multi-millionaire is advertising how excellent the service is on TV this week! The Scoundrel!

I made another mug of tea, had yet another trying WYSAO (Weak-Yet-Spraying-All-Over) wee-wee, moved the clothes on the air dryer, adding the still wet oven-mitt to them, then returned to the computer. Hello, it’s working again!

I got straight on with updating the post. It took a while, because…

Virg 255.0.255S

7Sun02I finally got the blog finished! Hurrah! I made a brew and took a photograph of below the light and view-blocking new kitchen window. Blind, because of the ridiculously wide ledge, prevent one from seeing anything. Tsk!

I decided to make an order on Amazon, for the Mannen Lemon Wafers, and short Bamboo socks. The reasoning for doing this:

  • The Mannen Lemon Wafers just cannot be found on sale anywhere in Nottingham that I’ve tried. (I might do an internet search later).
  • I lost some pairs of bamboo socks when the plumber caused a leak all over the clothes in the airing cupboard. I tried washing them, but the ripe and stale pong was still on them. Like other clothing, I had to dish them. Thank you, most kind of you, Nottingham City Homes.

7Sun21I came across a cheaper and smaller Ankle Support on Amazon. I added it to the order. I just hope it works something like as well as the larger one I’m using now.

I went on the WordPress reader, some great stuff on it today.

Made a beginning to this blog, can’t take too long, with Josie’s Sunday nosh to prepare. Brother-in-Law Pete rang, and we had a chinwag. He and Jane will be calling next Wednesday to see me. I don’t expect to get my valuables back, they are worth too much for them to risk me losing them. Hahaha!

7Sun11

After a few more hours, I stopped working on the blog.

I received an email, and this of news from the Nottingham Courts was an eye-opener.

Mr Teer, 45, actually stole £255-worth of Smoked Salmon.

I’m glad to see he was punished. Ha!

Punished? Conditional discharge? There must be more to this than is printed here!

Back to check on Josie’s nosh. I went to get the potatoes mixed with chives, onion and Leicester cheese. While in there I took some photos of the most amazing clouds, as the day burst into lightness.

I got the nosh for Josie delivered to her door. I hope she enjoys it. She gave me some potatoes and tomatoes in return, bless her cotton socks.

I went on to Facebooking. I want to find out how the TFZ founder Sandie, is getting on. She’s had terribly tricky and painful operations. Fingers crossed. ♥

Sketchy news, but the gal is not in good shape.

GuardsI put some stuff on the Facebook photo galleries. Including this picture, I found on the web, of four of the old favourites from long ago. I suppose many years ago I tried them all, when I was addicted to nicotine, I recall the Guards brand, and tried them often. A little dry tasting, but made a change.

It’s strange how addictions come back to mind. I really do miss the pipe and the gorgeous Erinmore Mixture. As for the plonk and ale, I am only tempted when depressed, and in summer, when I see folks sat out in the sunshine, enjoying a pint!

Nearly three hours, Josie has not returned the plate etc. yet. I shall be wanting to get my head down soon. The usual weariness and wandering mind are coming over me already today. Poor old sausage. Hehehe! I called at Josie’s to give her the last lemon wafer, I know she loves them as I do. I collected the washed plate, tray and cutlery, and had a minute or so chin-wagging. Josie said she enjoyed the meal, which cheered me up!

7Sun20I got back in the apartment and got my nosh served up. A cold nosh tonight. Tomato and turkey sarnies, on the Continental sourdough bread that Jenny had donated to me. Thanks again, Jenny! ♥ Garden peas and mushrooms, the last of the spring onion, BBQ turkey thingamabobs on sticks, sliced beetroot, crispt cheese sticks, and an orange drink from the fridge to follow. Tired as I was feeling, I ate it all up, and thought it was worth a taste-rating of 8.2/10!

The noises from above were pestering me a little, so I put the headphones (that desperately need replacing) and watched some TV. Which to me disappointment and chagrin, did not sent me to sleep as it usually would do. In fact, no nod-off until well gone 23:00hrs!

I did get off eventually, and a nightmare (literally) kip of about four hours was enjoyed. Well, not appreciated, but suffered. Poor old thing! Haha!

Saturday 24th August 2019

Welsh: Dydd Sadwrn 24ain Awst 2019

On this day the entertainment world lost Richard Attenborough and Julie Harris

23:10hrs: I woke up, to face another uphill-struggle with Arthur Itis, to free myself from the clutches of the £300, second-hand, grotty-beige coloured, near-dilapidated, dusty, rusty, rickety, rotting, recidivating recliner. Once I had got myself semi-perpendicular, on my legs, the pain eased considerably. And, welcomingly so!

A few paces to the famously salvational GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket), for an RWPS (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying) wee-wee.

5Sat01I hobbled to the kitchen and checked out the hand-washed clothes that were hanging to dry. But the thermal long-sleeved shirt, bamboo socks and the oven-mitt were all still so wet!

I did my best to thread the shirt and socks on the bendy upright airer. The oven-mitts will have to wait to be done later. About October, I reckon. Hehe!

I took the medications and made a brew of tea. I had a little self-kvell about how I was managing this morning. Arthur Itis was getting worse again, walking was getting more complicated, and the innards had started rumbling and grumbling! But, I was coping with what was almost contempt with the hassles! I sort of emitted, a ‘Sod you!” to them! Puzzling myself here!

It took me an awfully long time, but I got the Saturday blog finished and posted off. Smugness creeping in here! Haha!

WD 0.0.255 2 A visit to the Porcelain Throne soon put an end to my smugness! Cor, Lord love a duck! I doubt if any more time than three-seconds had gone before the evacuation was started of its own accord, and it being over and done with! Talk about fluidification! Another lengthy cleaning up session was needed.

I had a look at the legs to assess how things were going with that supplier of pain Arthur Itis, and the possible new leg-ulcer was progressing.

6Sat03

Arthur’s knees were a tad swollen and of course still painful. He’s enjoying himself today, making up for the days of inactivity? The ulcer seems to have changed its mind again about returning?

I went on the WordPress Reader section. Not so much on there today, but it is a Saturday.

6Sat02aI made another mug of tea and got some fresh garden peas podded, and into the saucepan to marinate with a spoonful of demerara sugar for cooking later. Then got one of the baking spuds in the slow-cooker.

Drank the brew, and made a Morrison order for next week. Crickey that took some time as well. The brain seems a little on the slow side, and the fingers-ends are losing contact senses again. This made me take over two-hours to get done?

06:40hrs: How the heck I’m going to get on doing the CorelDraw graphic, well, I can only hope for the best! I made another brew, had another GPWWB wee-wee, and started on the drawing.

10:00hrs. Still slogging away at the CorelDrawing! Remembered the window cleaner chappie is calling this morning to see about doing them for me. So I got a wash and some clothes on! Then back to the computerisationalistical graphic-making grind!

WD 0.0.255 2 13:15hrs: The window cleaner who said he would call to see me this morning, has not matured.

I took a Limoncello for Josie and pressed on with the graphicalisationing. Gerrin’ reet tired now!

13:35hrs: Started to make up a few days templates. 16:30hrs, got them all finished. The old man is now shattered mentally and in pain physically as Arthur Itis and Duodenal Donald, join in with Anne Gyna, and amalgamated, joined forces with the peripheral neuralgia inspired leg, arm, hands and fingers in a Neuropathic Schuhplattler. (The neuropathic medicine drop kettle, Pot noodles, soap, razors, mugs, shower head etc. dance), in giving me some hassle, that I don’t think I deserved! But still, no point in moaning. (Humph, Hehe!)

WD 0.0.255 2A As I got up to do the cleaning, I kicked the walking stick that was left balancing against the sink, it fell, and in my rush to prevent it going on the floor and needing my bending down.  I grabbed at it with my left hand and whacked my knuckles against the metal bars of the Sock-Glide, and the stick still fell flat on the floor!

WD 0.0.255 2A Bending, supporting myself foolishy, with the right hand on the sink with the clothes soaking in it. And, a little jiggling and jerking, and the hand slipped into the hand-basin, and the arm up to the elbow, banging against a tap (faucet), slipped into the soapy water and bleach, and the fluid spilt out onto me, and the floor, and the mat, and the testicles, and then… well, all over! Grumph and Goblastications! I set about cleaning things up, with under-breath curses and a frustrated whining emanating from the vocal-chords occasionally! The job was a long time to get it done, but I sorted the place and myself out.

WD 0.0.255 2 Checking things looked okay, I opened the door, and the smell of the burning potatoes in the oven drifted my way! Double Grumph and Goblastications! I hastened to the kitchen…

6Sat05aThere was not a lot of cheesy potatoes, but what I salvaged, actually tasty spot-on! I added the garden peas, and mushrooms from the saucepan added that to the things soaking in the sink and settled in the £300, second-hand, rickety, still-not-working, c1968 recliner. It tasted so lip-smackingly good! A flavour rating of 8/10 given. It went down quicker than I planned. But I could not stop worrying in case the mess in the wet room or kitchen had not been safely sorted.

A call to the Porcelain Throne produced the same evacuation as the last three have been; Rush, pants-down, sit, splosh and all done bar the cleaning up! Haha!

I returned to get the washing up done. Which took me an inordinately long time. During which the sunshine came bursting through the unwanted, uncleanable, light & view-blocking kitchen windows. Despite all my woes at that time, the beauty of the view caught my attention, and I had to take a picture of it.

6Sat06

I did it in ‘P’ mode on the camera dial. I must find the time and or stay awake long enough to check what this setting option means, my guess is ‘Panorama’, but I may well be wrong.

6Sat07I checked around again, and then got down in the rickety recliner, out the TV on, and noticed the legs were getting blotches still. But the leg ulcer had almost disappeared.

The toe-nails needed cutting. But the best the Health Centre could do is 11th September, eighteen days away, yet! I suppose it is a ploy, to get us to use a private nail-cutting service and save them bother. But surely they have seen my record, and know that because if my ‘Many issues’, they all refuse to treat to me?

I watched some Gordon Ramsay Kitchens on the box. But, as tired as I was, I just could not get to sleep. So perturbing!

I suppose I did fall asleep, cause I woke up around 03:20hrs. Still feeling so tired, weary and drained!

I’m not really in high-spirits, but things could be much worse… Hehehe!

Scots Gaelic: Diardaoin 22 Lùnastal 2019

3Wed25

03:20hrs: Strangely, I woke with a peace of mind, a serenity that has long been missing in my life. Not empirically, or egotistically, but heuristically, with far fewer worries and concerns belting about in the head! At the same time, the EQ warned me not to get too excited about this. But I could not help but feel a bit of self-satisfaction with this unanticipated phenomenon. Yet, it worried me at the same time!

As this odd new to me transformation, hopefully not a temporary one, sank in, the well-enveloped-in-flesh innards bubbled and rumbled, and I was out of the tatty, not-working £300, second-hand, recliner in seconds, and stumbling my way to the Porcelain Throne!

WD 150.0.0 The evacuation was even faster than yesterday mornings. I swear it was all over within seconds, again! But still found time to be painful and messy! I cleaned up and changed PPs.

4Thu001WD 150.0.0 On the way out of the door, the new Intercom on the opposite wall lit up! There was no tune playing, and as you can see by this photo I took (the camera was in my dressing gown pocket), no one in sight?

And, this was about 0325hrs? When I got around to doing this post, I added a photograph from the intsruction pages given to 7Sun10us.

WD 150.0.0 Baffling really, the different layout between the real thing and the instruction leaflet. Don’t you think? Highly suitable for the elderly to comprehend, fathom, grasp, discern, and work out? As if senility, decrepitude, infirmity, and dementia needed this sort of help! It’s bad enough that I am going to have to spend many hundreds of pounds out, for and thanks to the upgrading already done for us by Nottingham City Homes. New carpeting from the plasterer’s mayhem. The waste chute opening has been reduced in size, so now we all have to buy extra black bags to use. Holes left in the wall and floor to repair after moving the newly installed heater. These are the ones that Einstein would have difficulty in understanding how to set them! The wall and new electricity socket for the foam that was left to run down the wall and cover the electric-socket with rock-hard gel! The soaked-through and gone mouldy clothing that needs replacing, from the two repairs done to a leak! We, well I, do not need my mind attacking as well as my bank-balance!

By gum, I’m glad I got rid of that. Won’t make the slightest, smidgeon, modicum, or molecule of a difference of course. But better out than in! Hehehe!

4Thu04I got the handwashing on the dryer, and some hung up, for drying.

I wondered how long I could manage without burning or breaking the two new saucepans? The expensive, ‘heavy’ one with the drain gaps at the sides, which I thought was pricey at the Special Price of £17.00, let alone the original £21.00, looks like it will be easier to use. The other (left) one with the standard lid has not been used yet.

Then, I got some fresh pod peas podded and into the old pan. Added a bit of demerara sugar and a splash of Balsamic vinegar. I used the last of the peas I got from the Arnold Market, and mostly the Morrison ones delivered yesterday. Oddly after adding the seasoning, some peas absorbed it, and other floated to the top staying the original green colour.

There is an apparent reason for this. But blowed if I know what it is!

I noticed that the blood papsules on the right hand had almost disappeared. Another of the mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum. Illusion, delusion, & hallucination are rampant at Winwood Heights. That only those older residents living here can explain. Well, sort of! Hahaha!

I was a long haul, and I slogged away in getting the Wednesday post finalised. The late start and the slow internet connection was most frustrating. The arm, fingers, hands and shoulder were not too bad, although they had their moments! It was very late by the time it was finished. I got it posted off to WordPress.

I had a local news update email. This item was staggering:

Iraqi asylum seeker Qadir, 30, of Whitemoor Road, Nottingham admitted theft of toiletries and laundry products from Tesco Express on August 7; theft food and alcohol worth £358 from Lidl 13 days later. He also pleaded guilty to stealing shower gel worth £20 on May 30; toiletries valued at £40 on June 25; beauty products worth £60 on July 4; £90 worth of razors and toothbrushes on July 5; protein drinks worth £24 on July 9; Lynx shower gel worth £24 on July 11.

City magistrates ordered him to pay £100 compensation to Poundland and the same amount to supermarket chain Lidl. Well, that’ll scare him into honesty! Huh! He’ll be back, laughing again!

In Your Area Court Report.

I went to make another brew, before starting on this blog. I took a left, ahead and to the right shots of the view.

4Thu05

The sky was not so bright as yesterday. But the forecast for the Bank Holiday, in Nottingham is:

4Thu06I’m hoping that the door mechanism that will let us out to sit in the sunshine on the bench is mended by Saturday. I can take a drink of spring water and orange and the crossword book out with me. Oh, and a cushion. The benches are made of slated wood. (Haemhorroids you know!) Haha!

It was well late in the day now. I’ve been missing doing the Facebooking, time so limited, so I decided to try and catch up – it’ll take me a long time though. Back in a while.

Blimey that took some time!

4Thu25Nosh next job. Potato boiled, drained, Leicester red cheesypotatoes, mashed in the skins and baked, beetroot, tomatoes fresh garden peas, and turkey slice mul loaf sarnies. To follow, cakes, and a limoncello.

To much, too tasty and too guilty afterwards, but a flavour-rating of 9/10!

4Thu26Washed the pots, and got down to watch some TV. Too much really, I just couldn’t nod off for ages.

WD 150.0.0 When I did drop-off, I was awake and in near agony an hour later. The right knee, was being Arthur Itis’d to buggery! A new leg ulce had appeared, close the where the last one was situated. A cracking head-aches rounded off the waking misery! Tsk!

I did get back to kip though, as things settled down.

Wednesday 21st August 2019

Finnish: Keskiviikko 21 Elokuuta 2019

3Wed01ga03:15hrs: I woke to a coll nippiness in the flat. I rose from the £300, second-hand, c1968, grottily beige-coloured, rickety recliner. Caught my balance and checked the balcony doors, thinking they may have been left open, but they were closed. Where to coldness from coming from was a mystery. I went to check that the front door had been shut, and found an invitation to the opening of Winwood Court, from Nottingham City Homes.

No mention of:

  • The Boll-Weevil infestation, the nine-hours power cut from the electricians working on the fire-sprinklers and my losing stuff from the fridge and freezer.
  • The plasterer ruining my then-new carpet, furniture and splashing walls, chairs etcetera.
  • The airway being filled and the filler spilling out down the wall and enveloping the electricity socket, and is now unremovable!
  • The radiator being fitted too close to the cupboards so they could not be opened, being moved, and now my having holes in the floor and wall that need filling and flooring replaced.
  • The new Intercom that cannot be heard when someone calls (this one has affected many other tenants as well).
  • The fire-alarm that cannot be heard.
  • The water leak, and the two repairs, that left me with another leak that soaked and stunk out all my clothes in the airing cupboard to throw away, or those that could be saved by washing them several times.

But, this is not important, all bar one of the above, only affected Inchcock’s Hovel! Humph! Still, kind of them to invite me, a little late, but that’s understandable.

I had a wee-wee in the well-filled overnight GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket). A slow-motion USBUWSS (Ultra-Slow-But-Uncontrollable-Weak-Sprinkly) wee-wee.

3Wed01fWD 51.51.153 Off to the kitchen, to make a brew of Glengettie tea, and to take the medications. Some pretty temporary blood papsules had appeared on only the right hand. As I took this picture to show for you, then…

WD 51.51.153a The hand started jumping and shaking! The hypo was alright, that was air-tight wrapped, but the counter, tablets, cupboard, my feet and the floor got a good covering of the hot Glengettie tea! I believe I may have said something along the lines of, “Well, fancy that!” I cleaned up and made another mug. Tsk! Hehe!

WD 51.51.1533Wed01g As I was taking the tablets into the computer/junk room (Hehe!), the flipping arm did one of its rare involuntary ‘Hitler Salutes’!!! The tablet flew off in all directions.

I could not find the beta-blocker one.

Morrison’s order will be arriving between 0:600 > 07:00hrs. I made a start on updating the Tuesday post. But not for long, as I needed to get the ablution sorted so early for the delivery.

WD 51.51.153 This ablutionalisationing session was a tad farcical and at times, a painful one. I started off poorly, with needing to use the Porcelain Throne, and what a change in that department this morning! It was a case of, Sit, Splonk! All done, and a good clean up needed! Judging by the noise and splashing, it was a sizeable evacuation, all over in seconds! Takes that bit of pleasure away, doesn’t it? Hahaha!

WD 51.51.153 Being early-morning, no showering. A stand-up session. The shaving did not produce any cuts or nicks, but the battle not to drop the razors was lost, Gawd knows how many times one of them fell in the sink or on the floor via the porcelain.

WD 51.51.153 The worst part was the battle with the sock-glide afterwards. I trapped a finger; twice! Stubbed the big toe on the leg of the seat riser as I set the glide-up, and clouted the left ankle when using the flaming glide!

3Wed01LA bit of good-luck followed! Oh, yes!

The Morrison chap arrived as I was leaving the wet room. So I saw the new generally disliked intercom light up! Because, had I been in the other room, there was no way that I would have heard the feeble jingle the crap machine produced, with it set in the loudest option! Ideal for old folks residences, innit?

3Wed01mNot a lot of food this week. But I did get two saucepans delivered. One a plain 16mm one at £9, and an anodised one with pourer sides at £17, reduced from £21. I’ll see how these go later. It made the total expenditure £50.49, oh dearie me!

WD 51.51.153 I got started on the Tuesday post. A slow, frustrating time again. The finger ends losing sensations meant lots of correcting, paradiorthosis and editing to be done. Then Mr Steven Fries internet botherations!

Virgin6

I gave up, and as I went into the kitchen, I took some photos, with the light on in the hallway behind. I toy with them. Making two rather sad editings. The reflection of the doorway, reminded me of the Eiffel Tower a bit?

3Wed05a1a

I got the handwashing on the dryer. Cleaned the kitchen floor again, I’d not made a good enough job of cleaning up the Glengettie, first time.

3Wed01pThen I had a bit of luck again!

I found the missing Bisoprolol Fumarate 2.5mg tablet. Somehow, it ad managed to travel five feet or so so away from where it was lost by the right arm doing one of its Neuropathic Schuhplattler. (The neuropathic medicine drop kettle dance), as described by Tim Price!

3Wed01JI then took two photographicalisations from the much-disliked new balcony widow.

The first one in Auto mode, the second in ‘P’ mode. Or that might be the other way round? Yes, I think it was. Then again, maybe not!

I still have no idea, other than panorama perhaps, that the ‘P’ selector is supposed to represent. The first shot, does seem to have captured a slightly broader picture, with the zoom unchanged?

Time to gather the needs of the trip out to Arnold on the bus. The three-wheeler, spare carrier bag, bus pass, card, an umbrella just in case, and check things before leaving.

3Wed01QI put the nibble bag in the trolley as well, in case I met any friendly bubala folk on the way out.

Off to the lift, dropping the waste bags down the chute on the way.

When I got back to get the lift, I realised I was not wearing the hearing aids! But decided it was too late for me to go back and get them, for fear of missing the bus. A quick look at the watch showed it was twenty past!

In the lobby, I nipped out the front with the recycling jars, put them in the green bin, and went back inside and walked through the new passage to Winwood Court. I wanted to check to see if the door out from the tunnel into a rest area, was working yet.

As I got to the door, the mechanism was still not working, so no access to sit in the sunshine having a cuppa. Tsk!

WD 51.51.153 It was at this point that I looked at the watch again, to realise it was still twenty-past the hour, but it was 11:20hrs on the watch-face! Ah, the watch battery had died! Good job I was going into Arnold though, I think the Timson shop there sells them. I checked the time on the Mobile Phone, but that battery had also died a death on me! One of those days? Gerumph!

So, there I was, no idea of the time, if I had already missed the bus, should I hurry or not? So, I rushed to the foyer in Winwood Court. Where I potted some residents who catch the bus as a rule, chinwagging, so I wasn’t late for the L9.

3Wed01sI popped in and had a word with Obersturmfhreress and Catwalk Model Warden Deana. Then hobble out and to the bus stop to join a gang of tenants queuing there. A few natters, laughs and moans were shared. The Arnold bound L9 arrived, and I climbed aboard behind the others. Of course, with the trolley, I had no choice other than to sit on a side-saddle seat, they really are uncomfortable, and demand physical dexterity, to avoid being shaken out of them! Huh! Penny stayed on the bus and got off in Arnold as I did.

3Wed03The crossword puzzling did not go well. Due to my having a brain-dead spell and the Schumaker driver’s handling of the bus.

I dropped off in Arnold and hobbled along to the market to get some more garden peas that were so nice when I bought some on Monday. But the market was not one today. So I walked along to the Asda store, noticing some throws at £5 each on the way. I’ll treat myself to one of these when I can carry them home.

Not knowing what time it was, I took my time and meandered around the Asda (Walmart) store at my leisure. Finally arriving at the self-serve check-outs and having purchased: Jelly babies, cooked beetroot, ice lollies, salt and vinegar rice cakes, a lemon cake to treat the Oberstgruppenfhureress, Mini sponge cakes to have some tonight for dessert, fresh pod peas, tomatoes, mushrooms, and wafers for the nibble bag.

3Wed01TI strolled out and saw Penny on her mobile at the bus stop. I enquired what the time was, and we had about fifteen minutes before the bus was due. I told her I was going to Timson’s to see if they had a watch battery, and off I trudged.

I was offered a battery with a one-year guarantee for £10.59, or a lifetime one for £35. I took a one-year one. He fitted it, and I returned to the bus stop and Penny.

As luck (Again!) would have it, the bus was late in arriving. I tried the crosswording again, not much success there. Haha!

Back at the flats, Penny and I walked back through Winwood Court. I dropped the lemon cake off and the Wardens holding-cell, and followed Penny.

3Wed05No throne or wee-weeing required. But I was feeling peckish. So I made up the meal. A can of chilli-con-carne with chips added the garden peas and some BBQ sauce to it and stayed nearby to keep stirring it. I didn’t want to destroy the new £17, reduced from £21 saucepan too quickly. Hehehe!

That new saucepan is a devil to wash! But it did 3Wed05a1clean quickly without any abrasives used.

The sunshine was so strong, and the view outside was beautiful.

I then settled to eat the feast (Flavour Rating 8/10) and watched a film on DVD. ‘Cop Out’, a comedy with Bruce Willis and Tracy Jamel Morgan, two wayward cops. Brilliantly funny, I thought.

I got the washing up done and soon fell asleep when I got my body in the recliner again. And, when I woke up, there were no eschatological worrying or fretting at all!

I took the evening medications, changed to the TV, the A-Team was on – and I fell asleep again. Grand!
