Odes to Sanity Part 23⅛th
Being uneducated, I turned to intuitioning…
To replace my lack of logic and reasoning,
Judgements were instantaneous, with no conscious thinking!
No abductiveness, abstracting or even reasoning…
But I had a flair somehow for conceptual thinking?
I was prepared to tackle problems, if nonintimidating,
Usually, I’d end up morbidly confused and panicking,
Thought Storms, I found myself cathecting…
Often ending with my fearing and self-blaming,
Doreen Dementure started visiting; she’s beyond taming!
Finding you’ve missed or got something wrong; is excruciating!
Yet still, when I stray of a topic to start witwantoning…
Searching, no doubt, for comforting, consoling…
To find someone who can help, and be approbating…
A Doctor mayhaps, who is not so abrogating…
But I’m still here alone… and waiting!

MONDAY DIARY
Due to my working well into the morning on yesterday’s blog, I didn’t wake up until 07:15hrs. A good job; the Carer didn’t come early cause I’d left the door locked. So, although still in a haze, I had to force my way free of the £300 second-hand, decrepit, c1968, rickety recliner, and get a wash and shave, then dressed. I remembered to unlock the door first. ![]()
Despite my rushing, I remembered that I had the J Sainsbury order arriving twixt 8> and 9:00hrs. I didn’t get a single cut shaving and no teeth bleeding (but that was because I forgot to clean the teeth, Hahaha!) I did manage a stubbed toe and a few dropsies.

I got the blood pressures etc., done quickly as I could. Great figures returned, bearing in mind I was hastily hobbling around after getting up so late, trying to get the Health Checks done before the Carer or Delivery
arrived. My body temperature was well down, surprising as I was almost sweating with all the rushing about what I was doing? Hey-Ho!
Well gone 08:00hrs and Carer Richard arrived. He was obviously not going to be able to have a chinwag and check the medications in the drawer as he usually does on a Monday because the poor lad had got three extra calls given him for this morning! I slipped him a bottle and a nibble plonk & chocolates in a bag. I make up a bottle of spring water and ass some orange cordial to it and bang it in the fridge to cool for him each day if he comes; nice chap, but under pressure this morning. He still oversaw me as I took the medications; some didn’t even do that. Wishing him good luck, he took the waste bag on his way out. Bless his cotton socks.
At last, I got the kettle on and took some photographs from the balcony.
In the first photo, RVM (Red-Van-Man) in his favourite No Parking, yellow hatched markings. Raining a fair bit!
I noticed some activity, as a silver car arrived and went to park in between the grey and blue vehicles on Chestnut Ways car park. Then backed out again and went down to the end car park (RDM’s area).
And parked opposite RVM, a lot nearer to the entrance. I spotted the deluge of muddy rainwater in the car park as it hurled down the hill in Woodthorpe Grange Park. Can’t blame them as the rain seemed to be coming heavier now.

I went to wash the tea mug as I took this shot from the kitchenette window. Cunningly knocking over the kitchen tools stand as I did so! Another mess to sort out! I think it’s the first time I’ve handled the baster and quick as I picked them up with the picker-upperer
since I bought the set. Hehehe! That was donkey’s years ago.
The intercom flashed, and I admitted the J Sainsbury delivery lad. Who threw the food into the boxes, with the bunch of roses going in at the bottom of the box! (I found out later). Tsk! I rescued the flowers and put them in the trolley walker basket to keep them from harm. Can you see the expression on the orange carrier bag handles? ‘The Scream?’ Hahaha!
I got the bows and bags emptied and sorted into various places. Starting with the fridge and freezer products. I’d made a cock-up with the battered Fish & Chips; I thought I’d just ordered chips? I’d also forgotten that I’d got the vegetarian ice cream ordered from JS and have ordered more now from Iceland for
tomorrow; what a plonker! Humph! Glad to see they had some more of the Squid Sauce, which is actually liquid salt made from anchovies, and most tasty too! I’ll try to eat stuff from the freezer today to make room for new ones.
I’d got two boxes of four lemon curd bakes, one for Richard. The freshly podded garden peas had gone up in price by a whopping 30%. Boo! And no country of origin on the packet! So, I do not know what to expect tastewise. The Nicaraguan ones can be bitter and unpleasant. Like the last ones bought, they should be sweeter if they are from Peru. As were the Chilean ones last week.

Another of the instant, phooey, watery evacuations. I tried to take a photo of the much improved looking ankles and plates of meat… but as you can see by the image on the right, it was not a good one. That was due to Peripheral Pete and his neurotransmitter failure, creating another intentional leg flailing dance routine. Why, you ask? I hope… I actually took several photographs, but this one was the only one worth using.
What’s more, this dance went on for a long time, which is rare and worrying. I got a bruise or two hitting the porcelain and cabinets with the leg. I’ll have an investigation later to see what shape it’s left the poor old leg is in. I must have put them in the wrong setting. Maybe turned the selector too far of not enough?
Hehe! I got a bag on the trolley walker with the roses in, with some drinkies and phoned Deana to tell her they had arrived as treats in thanks. She said she’ll call later, but things can get hectic in a flash for the wardens, all of us old farts that need to keep an eye on.
I got the three small waste bags made up from the delivery rubbish, grabbed metal Micky and went to the door to go to the chute. Drilling noises permeated through the flat. I assumed the workmen were back doing the electrical repairs or updates in the lift lobby. So, I took the Canon camera with me. I could see the wiring hanging down from the ceiling tiles, and the fire door was wedged open; and made my way out of the flat lobby into the lift lobby. I greeted the workmen with a cheery “Morning, lads!” I think I might have just gone into invisible mode at that moment.

I hobbled around the tools, tiles and wires on the lobby floor, and I got to the waste chute room. Dropped the bags down the chute and was back out in no time. All without any trapped or knocked fingers, leg-dances, shakes or walking into anything.
Back in the lift lobby, all the rubbish on the floor had quickly been removed, and there were no signs of untalkative gentlemen anywhere.
Back in the flat, I decided to have an early meal. My aboulomania and pathological indecisiveness reigned. Of course, it took me ages dithering about what to have. Eventually, despite Dementia Doreen, I remembered I wanted to use up some frozen foods today to make room for the superb-tasting NoBull ice cream I’ve ordered from Iceland for tomorrow’s delivery.

I oven cooked a massive amount of chips (fries), to clear a bit of room in the freezer, as you can see. Hehe! I ate far too much. All my good work on the dieting over the last week meant nothing, as I feasted, licking my lips and feeling very guilty!
Taste-Report: The imitation fish sticks were tasty. The imitation smoked kippers in a vegetable sauce were super! The chips and tomatoes were excellent! The unknown origin shelled peas were disappointing. So, the plate of food gets an 8.2/10 Flavour-Rating!
The J Sainsbury cheese twist, and the sourdough bread, were both dry, bland and hard. So neither got eaten entirely. Eurgh! Shame! A score of 3/10 for them.
I just thought I’d remind you of the new Sainsbury’s slogan they have adopted. Grangleturds!
Got the washing up done, and a Meridian supervisor came to do a Customer Satisfaction review. I had to be honest with her. Treated her to a choice of nibbles afterwards, though. Dean arrived at almost the same time to collect her treats. I think it’s three or four weeks now before her wedding. She said she particularly liked yellow roses. She took the bag of goodies, and I even remembered to add the strawberries from the fridge. ![]()
2:
The moment the Meridian gal left… l had to make a swift as was possible hobble to the wet room! It was a close call again! No pushing required, down… splash-splurt; all done in seconds!
Cleaned up and washed, then took another Dioctyl poo-softener… I’ll start taking them one a day henceforth until they run out, or Trotsky Terrence loses his winning streak over Constipation Konrad! I must remember to ask Carer Richard to read the use-by date on the pot in the morning. I think cataract Kathleen is making my sight a little worse each day.
I got the pot of vegetarian ice cream that I got from JS, and I had a few big spoonfuls. Compared to the No-Moo one from Iceland, it was whiter but too sweet (I’ll still eat it, though, Hehe!) Costlier too! The No-Moo one was yellower, not so well packed and tasted less sugary, which suited me more than the JS one. Especially as these ones coming tomorrow were on offer. From £2.50 down to £1.50! Definitely, a case of
and a tasty treat discovered!
I nodded off, emptied bowl on my belly, in the second-hand, £300, charity shop-bought, gungy beige coloured, rickety, c1968 recliner. It was bliss while it lasted, but it only lasted for ten minutes, as the ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ tune burst forth from the door chime.
It was S
arah… or Samantha maybe? She got the medications sorted, but did not check as I took them for any dropped or regurgitated ones. So much for my mentioning this earlier. But she’s a good gal. No treats were accepted this time. Bless her!
I made up some Spring Water bottles, one with lime, one orange and the small one with lemon & lime. I do live well!
At 20:25hrs, I got restarted the WP and got back on Monday’s blog updating. Getting the latest photos uploaded first. So many were not useable, I had no idea I was shaking so much, and somehow a lot of them were lost. A
I got as far as here, and I went on the WordPress Comments. That took longer than I thought it would, nearly midnight now and the eyes are making things hard with the keyboard and screen.
00:15hrs now. No, I’ll have to stop.
TTFN each! 💜

not gooey or messy at all. ☑ I washed and off to the kitchenette.
The BP machine showed another decent (for me) SYS reading of 159, DIA at 76, and Pulse as 81. Very similar to yesterday methinks, but of course, not sure. I’ve noticed that
The temperature reading was also a good one at 36.6°c.
I got on CorelDraw, I desperately need some more graphics doing for templates. No one called, messaged, rang the door buzzers or phoned me. I spent five hours doing CorelDrawing, and I got some success. But now the weariness is falling. Tea and took the midday medications.
Back on CorelDrawing, got a headache now again, damned computers!
No templates were done yet, of course, but that will be my mission in the morning. First thing, I have no choice, I’m out of them now.
Then got the basin on a tray, served up. Despite my cock-up with the cooking, this little feast went down wonderfully well!
I settled into the £300, second-hand bought, c1968, sickeningly-beige-coloured, not-working, uncomfortable, rusty, rickety recliner, and got the Heartbeat DVD on to watch. Years ago, I can remember when I was alive, getting home in a rush, from Tesco on a Friday night, to see these Heartbeat episodes. That was just before the Bailiffs came and emptied the house of everything. Then the police arrived, looking for Mother, who done another runner. Ah, memories!

Took the morning medications, and got the Health checks done. Started with the BP, on the Boots branded Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by, ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China. The SYS was acceptable at 159. The DIA at 70, and the PULSE a
reasonable 80, all looked fine, to me.
Had a wee-wee. Emailed the link, and read the YourArea Email Magazine. It looked like a sleety, wet, windy and cold couple of days coming up on the weather page. Shame! Not that it matters with me imprisoned in the flat of course. Tsk!
The latest Coronavavirus figures were easier to read this morning. The new cases had dropped by-19.4%. That was a little bit of encouragement.
The pictures to the right were on a page about the upcoming Storm Christoph. These were taken yesterday before the main storm arrives!
It was the DVT, Warfarin INR, test result sheets. It arrived yesterday, but I forgot about it, well you would do if it had dropped out of sight. Hehe! Great INR this time. Next test on 1st February. I was a little concerned about the dosages they had given me, not that it is up to me. But they seemed a bit high, 2½s and 3s? And a while until the next test. I hope it doesn’t get too high. Still, what the ‘eck!
I decided to get some nosh of some sort. I found a beef pastie in the fridge, I think it’s alright, it smells good. That and some tomatoes, mayhaps a packet of Frazzles with them, yes, that sounds okay. So I made it up, the innards are still stinging, and I’ve no idea why? The guts calmed down after I’d eaten?
Got the brekkers eaten. I took this photo with the camera balanced on my bulbous but wobbly belly while eating it! The breakfast, not the camera! Haha!
I got the handwashing washed rinsed, rung and hung. It cost me more time cleaning up where I’d spilt the soapy water all over. SSS had increased the severity of her attacks while I was doing the washing – then as I hung up the last item – she went all peaceful, and stopped bothering me now I was no longer an easy target… I’m losing it again here? Talking to the ailments! Well, I used some silent naughty words as well!
A glutton for punishment, I made up some waste bags, got them in the cardboard box on the walker, and got ready to go to the Waste-chute room.
and as I was depositing the small bags into the chute, I dropped one, I bent forward and down, using the trolley as support… and cracked my head on the iron chute cover on the way back up!

I made a brew and washed the pots from last night that I’d left to soak.
After taking the medications, I carried out the Health Checks. Starting with the BP on the Chinese manufactured Boot’s Sphygmomanometer. The SYS had come down from 184 to 170, and the Pulse from Sundays high of 91, yesterdays 66, now 75.
The Amazon bought, (for a very reasonable cost of £29), Chinese made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer reading was of 36.9°c. It was up a smidge, but it is still in the green on the reading, so nae bother there to fret about at all.

The pins, hooves and tootsies looked in fine form. I dried off and got the medicationing done. Olive-oiled the ear holes. Next, I creamed the furuncle and carefully Germoloided Harold’s Haemorrhoids. They did sting bit! Then Phorpain gelled Arthur Itis’s and Cathy Cartilage’s knees. Put the eye drops in. Nasal hygiene sprayed the nostrils. Cleaned the spectacles, decoked the hearing aids and checked the batteries… It’s a job and a half every day! There is another dollop of advice for the whippersnappers. About what they might expect when they are growing old! Hahaha!
effect on me. The third stubbing of the day, surely that’ll be it, they say things happen in threes?
I had a bit of bother getting the badly-balanced three-wheeler trolley out of the door into the lift’s lobby, and even more, bother getting it through into the lift lobby.
where the bins usually are, but not today.
Winwood Court foyer, a sharp dizzy-spell nearly had me over! It left me a little confused and worried afterwards. It only lasted about 30 seconds, but I had to wait a while before moving on. What next! Took this snap of inside Winwood Court.
I departed, and the drizzle had stopped as I limped along.
I got back inside the building via the caretaker fire door.
lobby.
Got in the flat, I put the trolley away, and finished washing the Manufactured in Pakistan, long-sleeved shirt, all done, wrung and hung to dry.
Then had a look at the latest Coronavirus figures I could find, for Nottingham. Which showed a slight bit of optimism at least, a drop in numbers I thought. Then I came across this report, about where I live in Sherwood. This was not good! Yet still, people go out every day on the buses.
I made a brew… still no more wee-wees?
then have the shortest, methinks.

I tended to the belated Health Checks.
up jacket, that I bought nine-years ago from Primark put in to soak, ready for handwashing later, and the I wobbled-off to get the a
sink (Tsk!), all was okay.
tumbles or bangs either! The medicationalisationing went well!
So much so, I slowly and carefully made up some waste bags and got them in the walker guide box. I got things ready near the door to take them to the rubbish-chute room, and another stupefaction moment, where I just have to double-check things. I felt something had been missed, not done, or left in a dangerous state?
Off to the waste chute, not a soul about for me to pester and talk to. Hehehe! Got the things down the chute easily enough, RR, and RAI seemed to be easing off (The Zapains seem to be working quickly) but as I hobbled back to the flat CC (Cathy Cartilage) started giving me some bother. Yer can’t win ’em all!
The fatigue came earlier and suddenly today. I had to stop. But I needed to get Josies’ nosh prepared, and decided to make my own at the same time, very early on. I delivered Josie’s dead on time again and then returned to get my own done and sorted. Got the pots washed before settling
down. Gawed I was feeling drained, now.

00:30hrs: I stirred, and much to my delight, as I nudged my Himalayan-like, wide-ranging, whacking-great, generously proportioned, wobbly-stomached body from the c1968, recliner, I found that Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters were behaving themselves, as I got on my feet almost easily!
I had to apply some Germoloid in great quantity, to calm things down. Washed the mitts and back to make the brew of Glengettie. I took this shot of the view, using the Canon camera. Which doesn’t usually take such night shots well, as a rule.
Did the Health Checks next. Starting with the Chinese manufactured Boot’s Sphygmomanometerisationing. Aha, at last, the SYS had come down, the DIA and Pulse had both shot up. The pulse considerably from yesterday.
The Chinese made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer reading, was once again a good one, well in the green, safe zone.
Going back to the computer, I noticed the Nottingham City Homes supplied, humidity and temperature machine. It was showing humidity at well below the green area. But I wasn’t sure what it meant? Lack of air? I’ll look it up late. (He says confidently!)
Brew of tea at hand, I set off up[datong the Tuesday blog. Which took me over 5 hours to complete! Nicodemus, being the cause of this delay. So many times more than ever before, I had to correct and recheck things. I’ve probably missed no end of mistakes!

Not a perfect, or even close to a decent job was done. But it’ll do for now. Too early to hoover anywhere, the noise would be too unfair on my neighbours.
voice it was!
I don’t recall seeing this notice in the magazine before.
Nottinghamshire, it total, has had an increase in Covid-19 cases of 591, in one day! A really gruesome bit of news that is!
earlier. I moved into a hob saucepan, and put some peas into the mix, then got some red pepper sliced and into the slow cooker, to add later on. Ir was looking good to me!

23:35hrs: I stirred into ersatz life, saw the dirty food tray on the side-chair, involuntarily passed a ginormous blast of wind from the rear end, and as the innards began to be and bubble, I was forced to evacuate the c1968 recliner with rude-haste, to get to the Porcelain Throne.

Started on this post, and got up to here, then got the Health Checks done. The SYS had come down, from 164 to 161, which was a pleasant surprise, now I hope it will continue
to stay low. But hopes are not hight, I’m not that lucky. Pulse had also gone down a smidge, in fact, it looks from the reading history, that it old pulse is on the wane?
The Chinese manufactured body temperature Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer, was okay though, at 36.5°c.
But after that Accifauxpa, things went much better. A stand-up session, of course, considering the time of day it was. The feet toes and legs were looking better, they even had some colour to them. The total dropsies committed was only about six or seven! Just two nicks shaving! The medicationalisation
was almost painless and bloodless! No loss of balance dressing, either! Yes! Smug Mode Grade-Two Engaged!
disturbed. I took the things through to the kitchen, for sorting out.
I got the all the stuff stuck where I could find space, and the Jenny supplied minced beef was prepped and in the slow-cooker, and on the go. I dug out the leeks from the fridge and got them washed, sliced and added to the mix.

I called Jenny to see how her walk outside yesterday with Nora and Frank went. Not very good, she said. As they all got out of the flat lobby, they were greeted with howling winds, and it was so cold with it! They sensibly cut the walk short and got back to the comfort and warmth of the flat. I don’t blame them either! I asked if they would take half of the delivered sourdough bread, and if they come from Morrisons, half of the grapes as well.
Eventually, an empty elevator arrived, as I got inside and press for the 12th-floor button – Hello, the mobile phone has chirped to life…
Up to the dinky-mini-apartment, Amazon Man placed the things through the door for me, he was a decent sounding chap.
I put the cases of water in the hallway and got the other things into the kitchen.
A bag of Gigantic Green and red capsicums, in place of a small bag of yellow mini-peppers. Too hot for me, although I kept the red pepper.
I made up a sad-looking late nosh. I had some sourdough bread, well-buttered with it, I wasn’t up to any dessert eating.

The sphygmomanometer, made in China for Boot’s, knocked back mt Smug-Mode a bit, the SYS was right up to 183, and that was just after the evacuation involuntary right leg neuropathic dancing bout. But the pulse was still lower and fine.
My Hong Kong manufactured Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer reading, was fine again, at 36.9°c, and in the green. The urge for a brew of Glengettie was yielded to this morning, as the Terence Toothache, didn’t feel so tender. (I am a Fool!)
CorelDraw, to make it a little lighter.
The ablutions were a complete blank.
Jane rang, rang back. Cooking Josie’s and made meals at the same time, for Josie and me.
gone over at some stage.
beef, the fatty so-called less than 5% fat packet I started last week and froze it.
Found this picture from the ablutioning.
Shattered and discombobulated as I was, I could not get back to sleep for hours, and could not think clearly, which helped me cope with the sudden sanity-testing, over-active Thought-Storms.

23:45hrs: I came back to a life of sorts, Toothache Terence was giving me some stick straight away.
I tackled the updating of the blog, finished it and got it posted off. Sent the Email link. Visited the WordPress Reader section.
to do so, I left it to try later when I was ready. I made a start on this template. Then I changed my mind and clicked the update button.

The Chinese made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer count was 36.7°c, very acceptable.
The Nikon camera was not working again, so I had to use the Canon for the morning photograph of the view from the light & view-blocking, new kitchenette windows.
I got the medications taken and had a blast on this blog again.
No shower, too early cause of the noise from the motor, or whatever it is.
make me popular with the neighbours!
I got the few frozen things put in the freezer first. I thought I’d ordered a Chilli-Con-Carne meal, but I got a Beef Stroganoff, most likely me that got it wrong again, cause it wasn’t on the substitute list? Another Inchcock cock-up, once more, as I seem to be doing recurrently nowadays. Plinglepops!
For once the leeks they sent looked in good nick, I’ll do some when I have that Stroganoffski stuff. I called Jenny later, to check if anything barred to me was in it, I got the go-ahead to eat it from the gal ♥) Pork & Pickle mini-pies, butter, desserts, beef pasties, lemon Vienna cakes, and some vegetable Oxo cubes… oh, and the mystery mini pork sausages were put in the fridge.
The potatoes salad had two days life on it, the leek for 6 days. The pies all had 4 days of life. I’d better start eating, Heheheh!
I made up some bags and put them in the box on the walker-guide.
Then went to have a perusal of the Nottingham Today City Council magazine. To if anything new and newsworthy was found, to let you know about. This photo
above stuck out! Tsk!
New cases of Coronavirus in the last week are high again, a big increase. Summat else to worry about, then!
afternoon, has suddenly become much louder! Tsk! In fact, Tsk-Tsk!
I got the meal prepped and cooked, not that it needed much, the Beef Stroganoff ready prepared, just needed 45 minutes in the oven. I added some garden peas when I served it u
I cannot recall much about it, but I’m sure I drifted off again and had a dream, summat to do with being in an underground cave again, being chased? Woke up, passed wind, and wanted a wee-wee…

Ah, well, at least it got me up and hobbling around. The toothache woke up simultaneously as I did (Ah, maybe that is what made me wake up suddenly?) I had the customary morning wee-wee, and it was a powerful one this time. With the teeth being so painful, no tea had an uncooled drink of spring water with a squirt of lime juice in it, I thought it would be less hurtful than hot tea – I was wrong! Tsk!
The teeth were still too painful for me to risk a hot drink, despite my wanting one, the craving had to wait.

I took the medications and started the Health Checks. The SYS has at long last, come down a bit, to 159. Far better than the160’s and 180’s it’s been lately. The pulse had tumbled as well, from 92 down to only 72!
The
I got the chicken pasty out and not a plastic plate wit high edges (to catch the crumbs), and returned to the computer, so I could eat the nosh with the plate in an open drawer while typing this blog. You’ve got to admit, I sure do get some stupid ideas!
Ablutionisationing time arrived later today. The right leg had lost a lot of fluid content, was still pale, Clopidogrel marks were returning. The old ankle ulcer was getting a smidge, more colourful methinks. A new, mark or two developing. The Throne evacuation was messy, but not soft. If that makes sense. But virtually pain-free.
Hours spent on doing this blog, until, the sudden arrival of hunger!
