Oh, flipping heck, pickled walnuts and groats! Just look at the colour of the pouch contents this morning! So, so dark! That was my fault, methinks. I told Carer Richard I’d try to take my diabetic socks off and fit the night bag myself, as he was not up to it. The lad still struggling with his poor legs. But, me being me, I could not get the diabetic socks off, and I fell asleep and didn’t put the night bag on. Life is a struggle for both of us. I was so glad to see him, though. So I left the socks on. As soon as I got on my feet, the electric shocks started from the ankles, and they have been on and off all day, as of 15:00hrs. Cartilages Chloe and Carole are taking it, in turn, to give way, as well. Carer Kimberley came, and I took some Kodak Tim shots. When the gal departed, I got the SD card out to load the shots onto the computer…
!

Only the open photo was on the card. Was that the urine pouch? I must have taken about ten more.
I got the card back in Kodak Tim and took a couple more, but they were not on the card. I swapped cards, tried again, and had no luck. Now I was almost in tears! Shit!

I lost interest after that. I turned on the TV to watch the football, only to see Ukraine lose to Romania. Then France won… Nothing is going right at all!

Then, a series of events played out. I can’t even get a wash and shower because I forgot to ask Carer Kimberly to take my socks off. Depression kicked in then. So, I had to try something to get back online, so I decided to have a stand-up wash and shave, but I didn’t enjoy it.
What utter frustrations!

Back in a bit… hello, the intercom is chiming out. I could see a nurse at the door, let her in, and started thinking of the things I wanted to tell and ask her: the electric shocks from the ankles, the cartilage, and the toothache. The doorbell chimed, and when I got to open the door, the nurse said she was looking for a lady. She realised she had come in the wrong block and needed Winchester Court, not Woodthorpe Court. My sinking spirits sank even further.
Off to the wet room.

I’m back and in a slightly teeny-weeny, microscopic, tinyish,  itsy-bitsy, almost imperceptible bit of a better mood. Why? I’m not quite sure. It possibly has something to do with cleaning my teeth and shaving without the slightest hint of a cut or bleeding.

Late on, Carer Chris arrived. He looked at the camera for me, used his phone camera to take a shot of the evening clouds, and emailed the picture to me. I got it on here Tuesday morning.
He’s caught the essence of the night sky very well. Not that I was jealous, of course. Chris had cleaned through the mechanics of the camera for me.

I made the evening meal and then tried using Kodak Tim again. It was hit-and-miss. The meal photo went through (Yee-Ha!), but my sky shot did not reach the SD card? Lamburger cobs and fries. 8.8/10.

Not a lot, but a better colour.

Morning view.

The vagueness of mind was creeping in.
I think I had med socks, etc.
Domestic. , the last two were done by . Carer Favour took a photo of the head wound for me. And I thought it was pimple-sized. I was wrong. Moments of rare clarity, others fuzzy, and some forgotten about altogether until mentioned tomorrow by a Carer.
I recalled taking these.

No rain, though.

Late afternoon.

Late meal.

There is not much detail and not many pictures.
At least I got the first bits done before the meandering mind meant the loss of so many memories, and I could not find the reminder notepad?  Hearing aids or reading glasses this morning when I started to do this belated update.

Cutbacks, sorry.
Still too dark, Hey-Ho!

I didn’t do a good job with my shot of the morning view. It looked right till I uploaded it. Tsk!

He started off last night.

I lost hours when this screen came up on the computer. I may have pressed something unintentionally, a combination? I’m always catching the Conrol, Windows or Alt button without sensing it. Not the foggiest what it was all about. I turned it off and rebooted; I could not type anything without all the text being highlighted? Anyone help me?
Still, it came back on, but CorelDraw would not let me select anything. I had a sob, spat a bit, swore and turned it off again for ten minutes.
Things seem to be working again???

The highlight of the day? I’ve just remembered I’m not to post photos of any Carers on here! So, I have removed it. So funny as well!

I got domestic help from Carer Kimberly. She cleaned the kitchen floor, then the wet room and floor, and, for her final task, hoovered the front room. Lovely!
As she was putting the speedmop away, I suggested I take a photo of her doing it, like they do in the TV adverts. She was all for it and joked about her going for a model job, acting for Flash.
I took two shots, and caught her action in whipping off the strip, just as on the TV. I loved having a laugh about it. I felt a part of things.

The Iceland order came. The only thing different or worth mentioning is they had no substitutes, and the bananas, a hand of five, only had one of them squashed and bruised. Very good! For them!

I spent hours and hours doing the blog again.
The ups & downs of life…
Like no longer having a wife,
Depressed and suffering strife,
I cut myself on the steak knife…
The computer is giving me grief,
My tender area was bleeding underneath,
Also bleeding were my gums and teeth,
Panicking, in need of relief…
My bad luck beggars belief!
My nose is running like a sieve!
Life seems emotionally expensive,
Sorry, I’m just being expressive!
Sorry, it was a smidge intensive!

Amazing sky again, well, the clouds.

How did you do?

Noshtime!
The photo I took of the stew had gone AWOL again from the SD card.

06:15hrs: The old codger awoke. He found himself appreciating that he’d woken up overnight for only about six times. Much better than the previous two nights. Three by his , and the same by . He had a rumbling grumbling in his stomach.
He then emptied his nocturnal catheter pouch. Not pleased with the amount of blood that seemed to be in his passed urine. He… well, I (Slipped into the second person mode there, sorry), I grabbed hold of  and off to the wet room. WC duties first, and what a session this one was! The evacuated missile clunked into the WC bowl; it was wedged with about a quarter of it out of the water, and covered with the after-flow of a small dollop of high-quality stinky splashes from ‘s follow-up flow.

Ablutions and medicalisationing tasks were carried out. But, not without the odd . Here they are… Maybe not in order as they happened, but at least I can remember them: Cut my neck shaving, only a tiny one, no bother. Teeth and gums bleeding. All but went over getting the PPs on; I hate that balancing job.  The urine flowing into the pouch looked a bit bloodied. And needed cleaning up again and ointmentating.
But, I got it all done in under two hours. And then as a parting shot as I left the wet room, I shoulder charged against the door frame, and set off . Went back in and got MedPhorpainsome Phorpain gel on the shoulder where I could reach to rub it in. Oh, and I trapped my finger in the cupboard door. People won’t believe my good luck… or lack of it!

Carer Marie called. In a rush, but we managed a mini-natter. Then I spent hours making errors as I tried to get the blog started.
Carer Kara called next. She was in a rush, too. However, she did sort out the problem I had with the TV yesterday. Did it in two minutes. (I did feel a fool not being able to get it done myself) Bless her. She shot off, and I was lonely again, just like when Marie departed. Sad, innit? Hahaha!
I got a snack made up to satisfy my sudden hunger.  Some Microwave chips, Eurgh! Milk Roll bread, and soy franks. Nice!
Taste Rating: 5.2/10.
Washed the things, and spotted some unusual activity of Devon close. On, Cavendish Close. So,  I got from the kitchen and concentrated on getting clear photographs of whatever it was that was going on.
But it was only some resurfacing of the road.
I really must get to the opticians to get the eyes tested again… but then… if I do it will cost hundreds of quid, and the the Glaucoma operation is due shortly. Of course, I was talking in the NHS 1960’s mode there – what I meant was, (back to 2024); The Glaucoma operation may be due within three or four years, if I live long enough!

A kitchen window photo to the right was taken first.
No idea what it was, but I loved this one. Nothing special on shoe, but I found it appealling.
Then I took one of the lowering sun to the left of the window.
At this stage, the night Carer called. It was nibble-nibbling Carer Christopher. We had a chinwag, but he wasn’t listening. Nothing new there. He took the laundry bag with him, it wasn’t full though. Laughs, and lads insults were swapped. Hehehe!
.I almost got caught out when the catheter day pouch suddenly filled so quickly again – all okay though, nae bother. It was emptying slowly for some reason unknown to me.
When to get second and last brew of tea, .
And the beautiful sight of the sun setting caught my eye. I had no other choice than to go back to the computer to get the camera, and return to take these shots of the views offered me by Mother Nature. Gorgeous, even if not as good as they might have been.
Ten minutes later, I caught the sun just as it was about to disappear over the horizon, and out of view. Lovely!
Finally got the blog finished and posted off to WordPress.

I watched the TV at the same time as starting this blog going. But it ended up not being. I found so many mistakes on the blog I’d posted earlier, that it took me an hour to correct them all. Even then, I probably missed a few.

The baby baguettes at the side of the tray of potato hot-pot, shows up just how measily the mini-sized Parsley Box meal was.

04:30hrs woke with the TV still on.
Removed the nocturnal catheter.
Made for the wet room without taking any view shots. It was important that I get the ablutions and dreading dressing done ASAP, just in case there were any of the usual events.

Got the shaving and washing done without too much bother. And started to get dressed… This took me over twice as long as it did to do the ablutions and the medicationalisationing! Pain, blood, bruise, bent the little picker-upper, tore the Protection pants, and had to start again. So, Normal-Status Adopted.

Nice red band on the right ankle.
Photo taken after creaming it.
A new spot was found on the left leg.
Slippers on. I couldn’t get the left leg one on, so asked Care Joanne to to put it on when she arrived.
Carer Joanne called. She is still having problems with her catheter, and I found it therapeutic to listen to other’s problems for once. We, as usual, found time for a bit of a laugh and joke. Within a minute of Joanne proffering her farewells, chimed from the door chime. It was Carer Maryham, doing the domestic call. She kindly got on with it while I took a sleep, in the knowledge that she would wake me in time for a final check that I’d collected everything needed, ready for the clinic visit, and catch the Easy Link bus. Which the gal did. I got the 3-wheeled walker, and Maryham walked me down to the ground floor, well, in the lift.

Hello, the old clock is back on the wall in the main lobby. I imagine the new clock had been stolen, along with my and other’s bags of laundry? Hehe!

It was drizzling out there, and the mud could be seen that had been walked into the building.
My favourite driver was outside waiting for me to be picked up, from Easy-Link. She got the money from my various pockets to pay for the lift and we were off.
Turning right down Winchester Street Hill.
Sneaked this ahoy en route… But dropped the camera, and I was firmly in the grip of the seat belt, and could not retrieve Kodak Tim, which settled between my legs… until we arrived at the Riverside.
I discovered that Dominic, was not there today, and it should have been last Monday that I could speak with him. Of course, these things could happen to anyone… but the odds were it would have to be me!

I decided to have a walk around Bulwell Market and the river until the lift came to fetch me in two hours… but first I had to ask where the toilets were to empty out, you know what…
Flipping dark! But it was easy enough to empty today, and hot water and soap to wash with. I hobbled out into the rain and walked to the Bulwell Market and the shops. This was an expensive trip out!
Not particularly busy, but with the rain?
Looking a little gloomy, too!
Called in the Heron store. Needed help with using the cash dispenser again, Tsk! Came out with a bag of fodder, and down to the B&M store.
Left with a bigger bag of purchases.
Then to the Poundland Store, got some Walkers Worcester sauce potato sticks for a pound, a pack of six and a giant bag of bird seed, and made my way across the road to the river and the pigeons waiting for me. And getting well-soaked at the same time!
They must have recognised me?
Bless, them…
Then a hobble back to the riverside, in the rain.
Getting murky again as I approached the building.
The lift was waiting in the car park for me. Took these below on the trip home to the empty flat. Hehe!
Exiting the car park.
En route.
Bestwood, I believe.
Top Valley?
Unknown.
Sherwood.
Back at the prison… I mean flats! I mused over three weeks ago when my laundry and new bag were never returned, along with a few other poor residents. The following week, I put it all in my new bag, and the laundry was returned… but in an old bag; I mentioned that it was my laundry but not my bag, and they took away the bag. Yesterday, three days after sending and paying for it to be washed, it came back damp.
We pulled up, And the gentleman said his farewells, and up to the cell… no, no… flat.
Emptied out the fodder from the bags.
And got on with making something to eat.
Had a go at the blog and finished it in a jiffy… well, maybe not. I got it finished nine hours later.

Checked on the cooking and saw that King Charlie is out of hospital but must recuperate for a week… Ha! This prompted me to write the News Snippet at third from the top for the blog. ‘Charlie is out of hospital’!

Midnight, and in need and ready for sleep… but it wasn’t to be granted.
Cheers!

I had to take off my nocturnal pouch in the night. I’d forgotten to ask the Carer to empty the day bag before attaching the might pouch, and the bag was getting too full and rather painful in the bladder area. Ruined my sleep as well with having to get it taken off.
05:00hrs: Hence, the colour of the urine when I got up in the day bag, was far too deep. Humph!

Meandered into the kitchenette, got the kettle on, and tried for a change, to take a decent morning photograph.
They were of my usual standard – rubbish!

Made up a waste bag from the others, and as I placed it near the front door, I had to hasten… well, hobble swiftly to the wet room for the morning session.
Gorblimey, that was messy again!

I attempted to take a Kodak Tim shot worthy of presenting in this marvellous, entertaining, fascinating Daily Inchy Today blog. (Ahem!)
The first one wasn’t…
The second is even worse.
But the sky came out alright.

Carer Christopher arrived. I mentioned my forgetting to ask him to empty the day bag last night before attaching the night pouch. He did a good job in getting the leg strappings on for me. Medicated too.

Got on the computer and confused myself as I lost concentration and somehow started doing different tasks at the same time – and lost track of what I was doing. I’m doing this more often lately.

Hence my disappointment at not speaking with the Doctor, the Cognitive Impairment Psychotherapist, on Thursday. I wanted to speak with someone who understood and may have been able to give some advice or guidance to me… But, No!

The needed emptying.
Still looking too dark to me. I drank more

Carer Dochal (I think) arrived. Medications, check on the lifeline check was done.

Back on the computer trying to sort out where I was before. Sister Jane rang me. Said she’d given me her new address in with her Christmas Card. She’ll email it to me as well. I emailed it to Obergruppenfurheress Warden Deana later on, for the record.

Back on the Computer… and the door chime rang out. It was a delivery of the table I’d ordered. I’m hoping that it will fit under the chair so I can eat with less chance of spilling, knocking anything or dropping stuff on the floor; curtsey of Shaking Shoulder Shirley, Dizzy Dennis, an involuntary Peripheral Pete Leg Dance, Reflux Roger,  Loss of Balance Belinda, or Colin Cramps. But I fear things are not going to work out. Why? I’ll tell yers!
The well-sellotaped box it arrived in, was awfully light. I can imagine myself getting the shakes and knocking the table about with ease and spilling, dropping and swearing a little, maybe, when I use it?

An hour or so later, the pouch was near;y full again!
But it did look a ‘lighter shade of pale!’ (Wasn’t that the title of a song back in the day?).

At last, it’s getting lighter outside, too.
Well into the afternoon now as well.

Back on the computer. Creating the ode of the day now… But inspiration & concentration is still scarce.
Getting dark earlier than ever.

did the next check. I took his Health Checks before he left. Another good one from the lad, a healthy specimen of a Carer. Hehe!

Caught some contrails in the oddly coloured evening sky, with the sunset… It was Bootiful!

Then I set about getting the roast potatoes out of the oven, and into a pan of Chilli Soup with added soy, liquid smoke flavour and Worcester sauce.
Flavour Rating: 9.2/10. Gorgeous!

Went to wash the fodder things.
How the view had changed from 30mins ago!

I bet you all got this one!

Closed the computer down and went to check that I’d not left the hot water tap (faucet) running.
Another change of view.

All ready for Monday yet?
Whatever you do, don’t forget…
Although I am a simple poet,
Take heed of this little odelet,
Take care when doing a pirouette,
Or backing a 5/1 favourite…
Christmas, at home with your poppet,
Keep your money in your pocket…
Save cash; have a pigeon, no piglet,
And send me some money…
That will rescue me…
Lost my bank card & number, see?
I also lost it in 1953…
I’ll accept donations, appreciatively,
They’ve also turned of my electricity!
I’m not seeking pity or sympathy!
Just money, by the pound, not penny!

This ode was only meant to be funny!

Keep Happy!

My Frustration & Hatred Is Growing!

Excellent 3 for the urine night pouch colouring!

Feet after the little wander around in town yesterday.

Laundry bag return awaited.

I’m not sure why…
I took two photos of the waste bags?

A blurry early morning shot of the car park.

Then two other bad shots of the view ahead.

Got up around 03:30hrs, and the use of the did not arrive until gone 07:00hrs. dominated. Took some cleaning up!
.

Looks like a ghostly seat! I hung the towel over the shower chair and turned on the heater to dry it off. Cunning!
I remembered doing this an hour or two later, and I went to turn off the wet room emersion heater.

The Meridian Domestic lady did not arrive. Hope she was on holiday and not poorly. So I hoovered the hallway. Unfortunately, I my toe on the trolley walker wheel, right against the . This may have had other lesser men cringing and wingeing, but not me. I just laughed it off!

Made an early fine feast of sliced baked potatoes, soy imitation sausages, beetroot & tomatoes, red & yellows. Naturally, no sooner had sat down to watch the TV with the meal tray on my knees, and my taste buds tingling!
14:35hrs: The opticians rang. Can I bring some old spectacle frames in to use in the varifocal spectacles? The one the Carer took for me is too old to get a lens made to fit it?
Back to the meal…
14:48: The Doctor rang to say the Blepha decision will be emailed to me later. Humph!
Back to the meal…
15:00hrs: DVT Anticoagulation rang; the DV vein draining has been cancelled. They will make me another appointment.
Back to the meal…
The potatoes were barely lukewarm by then. How does this happen to me so often? Whatever time I get around to eating, someone will call, or the phone will burst into life.
Still, the nosh deserved an 8.4/10 rating!

Took this slightly better shot of the Chestnut Way car park in front of the flats when I washed the pots up.

I decided to watch some TV again. Huh! Turned it on again, and some sad adverts greeted me.
Kids have to live using underground water.
I noticed my new glasses on top of the cabinet and realised how lucky I am really, compared to some. Then…

The TV went off. A message something about; check your external and internal ariels? It came back on later again.

Oh, getting dark?
Five minutes later…
Another five minutes.

Did the eye treatment. used, then when it had dried, the Gel.

After 18:00hr Carer Benjamin called, and we found we were missing some tablets. I was in a pickle about it, cause it was Atorvastatin, and I had a weirdly strange feeling that Richard mentioned something on Monday to me about it coming later when he kindly fetched the prescriptions for me… but of course with , I’m just not sure. So, none tonight. Benjamin said he would have a look around down in the office for me in case they were in there. Thanked him, and he said he was doing the late call; if the tablets are in the Meridian office, he’d bring them up with him.

I got back on the computer, to find that...

Late Carer Carer arrived. He brought up the missing tablets and issued them with the Peptac; no painkillers were needed. Then attached the night pouch to He also responded to my request for him to hang up the laundry, which was only dressing gowns; bless him.

Turned off this computer, and I got settled in the ÂŁ300 second-hand shop bought, c1966, moth-eaten, cringingly-beige-coloured, grotty, bedraggled, dilapidated, crumb-containing from my nocturnal nibblings, bug-ridden itch-inspiring, not working recliner in search of sleep. I put the TV on, cause that usually helps me to nod off, when the commercial adverts come on… but only when there is something on I wanted to watch. Hehe!

And… this is true! Guess what went down only three times in
well over six hours?

Mug of Thompson Punjana tea…
and a pot noodle!

After the midday Carer, Rhamat called; she bought my laundry bag, bless her, as I was about to post the finished blog for yesterday to WP.

Now, time for the dreaded full-service
Shave, shower, nasal spraying, teggies, Germolene, Germoloid, Corticoid creaming of , Eye drops, and . Pain Gelling of , , and medicating the tube that is stuck in Little Inchy’s protuberance. (I cringed when I wrote that, you know!) Then when dried off with the towel, that came back from the laundry still damp earlier, Sprinkle some aftershave to stop the inevitable cuts and nicks I’ll get shaving. A splash-over with the Brut, eye-drops… Oh, I may use the as well… it’s overdue!

Certainly not as planned or hoped for.

⑥ My final occurred; I head-butted the shower power box. Getting a tiny little scar for the cut that I accrued. Tsk!
I did the medicationalisationing without any further injuries being suffered!

⑥ However, there was a late . Getting the Depend Protection pants on, I had a wobble getting the left leg into them. And against the floor cabinet corner… but remained on my feet!

I had to put the still-damp returned dressing gown on, as it was the only one thick enough to wear, as the weather had suddenly changed. The wind was howling now. It suddenly went dark when Carer Benjamin had been here for five minutes. As he left, I took this snap from the kitchen window. As I opened those mentioned above, I thought I would get blown over, so strong was the wind.
Murky?

Later one…
As I began preparing the late nosh…

Nosh Sorted!
Prettily presented plate of provender…

Simply battered balls and potatoes.
No-Butter butter and BBQ sauce, put on each half a potato with a bit of salt and vinegar on the battered No-Fish fish balls. Bootiful! Taste Rating 808/10! Ate it all up, put the empty food tray on the carers table, and fell into a deep sleep! Not for long, though…

Carer Richard arrived to sort me out. Although, at the time, I recall only wanting to get back to my precious, in short-supply sleep. Hehe!
A STROKE OF LUCK! (At Last!).
Tonight, finally, after a week and two days, of farting about trying to get the Blepharitis Gel tube to work properly…
It dawned on my impaired brain what I was doing wrong! How the heck? I didn’t realise it before; it beats me! I’d tried to apply it to the eye pad like you would with a standard toothpaste tube. Then understood I had to press the thingamabob at the top to release the gel. !
Ah, well!

As usual, being woken up again was no longer interested in letting me get back to my much-needed sleep. Humph! I nearly reached a state of stupefaction a few times, but on every occasion this happened, I’d burst awake with jolting, jarring, buffeting, twitch, tremor, juddering, judder! So, I cursed a little and gave up any idea of getting any sleep. And turned on the TV.
To find that replay football matches were on the channel.
This comforted me; the first of the new seasons’ Premiership League game highlights were showing. The first match was Chelsea v Liverpool. I nodded off into the land of nod in the game’s first minute.
Waking up with the regulation shuddering, flapping, and threshing about. Waking as the programme was finishing to realise I’d missed three other matches as they displayed the results as the programme closed

Spent what was left of the morning failing to get to sleep. At least the darned left me alone.

TTFNski!

Cans fell every this and that way!
So I rebuilt the cans & bottles on display!

A bright morning with snow.

Bright-looking urine in the bag is good!

Down to just four visits today.

Email from Asda – order on its way.

Made a brew of Glengettie.

Asda order arrived.
.
Pondered on whether to have casserole for a nosh?
Put the rest of the fodder away.
Fridge before and after delivery.
Note that it is not full!
Tried the Vegan butter later. It didn’t
spread well, but tasted grand!

Took some more view photos of the light snowfall. See
above… Not the houses, which I reckon must either have
a Cannabis farm in the loft, that, or they are so rich
that they can afford to heat the attic? Hehehe!

.

The footfall in the snowfall, in the bottom field.

Later, a man and his dog caught my attention.
Well, it was the wildly wagging tail of the dog
mainly. Boy, that dog loved the snow!

During the day, I had the attention of Carer Josef,
Carer Adele, also & I think Carer Carolynne.
But since the arrival of
any name could well be the wrong one.
Sorry about that!

The snow gave us another covering.

Throne visit six attended. Every one of the
previous sessions were a watery-gurgling mess.
This one was the complete opposite..
lost out to the new King
of the Throne’s return – !
followed the evacuation.

Then, I walked into the door frame on my way out...
And pulled the  tubing
that was stuck in Little Inchie. Naturally, this left poor
.
Undaunted by this mini-series of acci-whoopS,
I made a refreshing mug of Thompson’s Punjana tea…
Taking the first drink of it at the computer,
gave me a nudge,
and the mug and tea dropped from my grasp!
Of course, I took this in my usual casual, calm,
devil-may-care-but-not-me nonchalance.
.
I was close to crying with frustration!

I made the meal of the day…
I’d forgotten about the potatoes in the slow cooker. Not that
I needed them; I’d gone a smidge.OTT without them.
The plant butter on the bread rolls tasted wonderful.

Did a bit on this blog, mostly getting things wrong, lost
all concentration as my eyes failed, and my head
drooped. I gave up!

Would you believe it? Another visit!
