Inchcock Today – Saturday 7th April 2018

Saturday 7th April 2018

Filipino: Sabado 7 Abril 2018

0305hrs: For hours, I kept waking after scratching at both of my wrists (Lower arms). Nodding off and repeating the process. Somewhere in there, I even had a dream that I was tearing off my own hands while undertaking a transmogrification of some sort. When I woke, I found the wrists sore, red, curiously painful to touch and irritatingly itchy. I got out of the £300 second-hand recliner like a five-year-old. No twinges or hassle whatsoever Apart from the wrist/arms of course), even Hippy Hilda. This in itself was a baffling-to-me achievement.

To the medical drawer in the kitchen, and got the kettle on, and applied some Germolene to the lower arms. This stung a bit at first, but they calmed down in seconds as I rubbed the ointment in well. The flared-red patches on the wrists soon became lighter. Some disappeared, all became less itchy. Confounded me!

6Sat02I made a brew of the English Breakfast tea in the small China mug and took the medications.

The sphygmomanometer took three attempts to get it to work. New batteries in it too.

The pulse was still low, compared to what it usually is. The sys was up again.

I suddenly felt shiveringly cold. I expect this was due to either the ghost who steals my odd socks and memory or the Alien who hides things from me. Hehe!

6Sat03

Off to the Porcelain Throne. Another messy evacuation. Tsk!

I started this post of as far as here, then updated the HORRENDOUS Friday Diary. Got it finished by 0535hrs.

Back to updating this one and went on to the WordPress Reader section. Then the comments.

Went on CorelDraw to do some work on the page-top header graphics.

6Sat06I tied taking a photographicalisation of the skyline, zoomed in. But it did not come out well.

So I then made one of the fronts of the flats below. With Mr Clipboard taking the mistakenly left-in keys, I could not open the window more than a few inches. I could only get my hands outside for a little distance and had to take this photo blind as if to speak.

6Sat07

It came out reasonably good considering, well, I thought it did. If you are one the thousands of Inchcock Today readers, I’m sure that either of you (Hehe!) would spot the difference in this one, compared to all my other pictures of this parking area?

Yes, you’ve got it. The car at the right end had reversed into his space! That’s a first for this place.

Then, Guess What:

Still, why should they not join in with Willmott-Brown, Nottingham City Homes, the Chemist, The Doctor, The plasterer, Noisy BBJ up in the flat above, Duodenal Donald, Whoopsiedangleplops, the Bank and the others in making my life a misery? Grumph!

It came back on, but the signal was feeble and would not let me work on CorelDraw.

I had close down the new version of WordPress and went on the old editor to get the photos on the blog. Then go back to the new one, to use the full alignment option.

Selected some words to use later, this took over an hour. Got the computer back on and:

Thankfully, it returned after a short while this time. At around the speed of a two-hundred-year-old three-toed Venezuelan Sloth with a broken leg.

Went for a wee-wee. As I was washing afterwards, it dawned on me that the wrists and phalanges, as well as the arms, were free of the red marks and the terrible itching. A bit of a problem and poser as to what caused them in the first place? Not fleas I hope!

6Sat09This insect got me thinking, and I looked up on the web to see if any insects live in concrete or cement. There was one possibility that showed up; The Jumping Springtailed Entomobrya unostrigata. Very tiny and they like the wet. In 1952 a study was done, with this statement given by Dr M Martin. Cited from Bryk, F. (1955:1824) Springtailed Entomobrya-unostrigata. Bites: “Very discomforting mosquito-like skin irritations attributable to collembolans of the genus Entomobrya attempting to bite.” Whatever did we do before the arrival of the internet? Well, if you have Virgin Media supply it… Oh, Stop moaning Inchcock!
With all the opened-up walls around the windows and balconies, holes are revealing the concrete and cement innards at the moment. And with all the rain we have had, you never know. I must remember to ask the other residents if they have suffered anything similar to my itching blotches.

6Sat09I made a mug of tea again and took a look out of the balcony windows. Even more crap on the outside of them now. If what Doris says is right, that the balconies will not be fitted for another eight months yet. We’ll need to hire an industrial cleaning service to blast them with high-powered steamers with bleach to get them clean! I bet we will not be able to see out them at all, soon. Just a thought.

I revisited the WordPress Reader.

WDP03a  I went into the drawer in the desk under the 6Sat11 (2)computer, to search for a pencil sharpener.

It was most pleasing to find the small steak knife that I misplaced a week or two ago. How or why I put it in that drawer will go in the file with the other mysteries. The Aliens, the Ghosts again perhaps? Anyway, I made another cuppa and wiped off the blood and put a little plaster on the cut hand. What a Shmendrik!

WDP03a  As I was putting away the medical plasters, I 6Sat10turned as saw what must have been dozens of little insects coming down out of the broken plaster awaited being made right on the sides of the window. By the time I’d got the camera, all bar just one of these created had or were making their way back up and disappearing into the cracks and holes. This one must have been like me, suicidal. Hehehe! Because he or she ran towards me. Looked like tiny beetles of some sort to me.

Moments later a dirty great meat fly was buzzing around the glass in the window. This fly was a bit of a Houdini, and despite my best efforts, he avoided being caught and squashed.

Getting late now, and I still had not got any page-top graphics done, and I was getting tired. However, I had another shot at this task on CorelDraw/Photopaint.

Only two done. Not feeling so good.

Health checks were done.

5Fri016Got the nosh cooked and prepared.

I’m afraid I overdid the sliced potatoes with cheese on top of them.

But I still ate them all, ultra crispy is the kindest word to use to describe them. Hehe! I even rated this effort as an 8.9/10. About time I made a decent nosh.

Washed up and settled down in the £300 second-hand recliner. The TV had nothing on I fancied watching to send me to sleep. So I put a DVD on, Law & Order UK. Not as effective in sleep-tempting as the TV with its advertisements, but they usually do the trick.

It did!

TTFN each.

Inchcock Today – Friday 6th April 2018: Worra horrible day!

Friday 6th April 2018

Turkish: 6 Nisan 2018 Cuma

0245hrs: I stirred into a Spike Milliganish form of life brain-wise. Battling back the harrowing wayward thoughts, and confusion milling about in the grey-cells. A thirst raged inside, and this forced me into physical activity, and I removed my short-plump chubby-wobbly body from the £300 second-hand recliner, almost with ease. Hippy Hilda was still asleep I think, so I moved with considerable attention so as not to disturb her.

5Fri001bI got the kettle on and made a brew. Using the small China mug, I used the English Breakfast tea and the Arla milk.

Took the cup and medications back to the computer, and got it turned on – the computer that is, not the cup and tablets. Hehe!

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 2.2/10: I started to do the updating of the diaries and tried to load the photographs to WordPress, but they would not go on (Download). I opened the old version of WordPress and, blow me down with a feather duster, it accepted them. Then, because the old one does not allow full alignment, I had to go back to the new version. Life, is so complicated, involved and complicated, don’t you find? Mine seems full of inconcinnity nowadays. Grumph!

Then I realised I had not done the Health Checks. So I did them.

5Fri001

5Fri002While in the kitchen, I took a photographicalisation of an apparent Alien Spaceship on the horizon. Or, was it an Angel coming down for me? Maybe it was a North Korean missile? Most likely a reflection on the glass of something in the kitchen.

Either way, it seemed to be coming down over Top Valley. So it could be a Parachute dropping their supplies of knives, guns, drugs, iPads, mobile phones and condoms?

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 2.8/10: Just as I got back to the computer, an urgent and sudden need for the utilisation of the Porcelain Throne was needed. So, off to the wet room. En route, it dawned on me that Duodenal Donald had eased-off on me this morning as well as Hippy Hilda. The relief caused me some concern, as it was unnatural.

The actual evacuation caught me by surprise, no sooner was I sat down on the loose-fitting toilet seat, out it came. Slowly, messy. Had a heck of a job cleaning up after the movement. On the bright side (I tickled myself there, writing ‘On The Bright Side’, this does not happen to me very often – Hehehe!), there was only the tiniest amount of blood.

Back to the computer and made this post up to here. Then finally, I got onto finishing the Thursday post. A long job indeed, having to keep changing from on WP to the other to get it ended, but I managed and posted it off.

I tried to get into the account for the bank again, but I still did not know my ID. Spent far too long failing to get into it back.

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 2.9/10: Back to updating this one. I didn’t get very far, when another demand for a return to the Porcelain Throne arrived, Oh dearie me! I should best use the words ‘Gooey, with a distinctively putrescent, olid, aroma’ in describing this evacuation. I had a thorough cleansing session afterwards. I was left with the stomach feeling a tad queasy after the visit, where I would have thought it should have been before? An unpropitious indication for my future health here, I guess.

Got on to the WordPress Reader, next.

5Fri005.jpg

5Fri003Back to the computer.

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 3/10: I tried to get into the account for the bank again, but I still did not know my ID. Spent far too long failing to get into it back.

Time has shot by again, it is gone 0700hrs already.

Ablutions time soon. A quick look at the emails, then off to the wet room. Got the ablutions completed, remembered to take bank folder with the paperwork with me, and set-out.

5Fri006Again my reliable but unwanted EQ warning me that agitation is to follow!

I walked down to the end of Chestnut Walk, waving at the two uninterested Wardens as I passed their window.

Stopped at the end of the road to take this picture of the depressing place called home, as I turned down Winchester Street Hill on my way to the Bank to ask for help. (An enigma, my saying this).

5Fri007Not many folks about again.

Whoopsie O1 I got into the bank and only one other person in there, and he was being tended to. Just as well, only the one teller on duty.

I showed her the letter I’d received telling me how important it is to that I activate my internet account, and explained my difficulties.

The lady said that usually there would be someone who could help me, but not today. I was astounded and irate about this. The lady suggested she gets me a temporary Password. I was much cheerier at this news. She had it sent to me mobile, and I opened the message. I told her could I do this logging in etc. tomorrow, cause I have to go to the clinic and chemists yet today. But No! It expires in 6 hours, so it has to be done now. I was in there for ages and felt guilty keeping other customers waiting. In the end, I thanked her for making me miss my clinic appointment, and left, with stares from those now more aged people in the queue, burning into me. Oh, dear! Irritability Level; Now 4/10:

5Fri008Really aggravated now, again, after walking all the way down the hill, now I have to walk back up it to log-on and change things.

When I left, sulking and feeling hard-done-to again, all these closed shops in a row were next to the bank. I’m not surprised.

I struggled back up the hill, in a rotten mood.

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 4/10: Anne Gyna and Duodenal Donald both came on at the same time.

Irritability Level; Still at 4/10 I called in at the Social Shed to see if I could get some comfort from the Wardenesses, who were both in their office. I began to tell Obrguppenfurher Deana about my woes with the bank. Her face turned stern, and she said: Don’t tell me, all the banks are useless in helping anyone. The gal had plainly suffered at the bank’s hands too! Poor thing. She got a phone call, so I lost her attention altogether. Unterofficier Julie was told of my plastering and carpet woes and then the bank farce. I might have well of been talking to the lamppost outside for all the response I got. But, I do appreciate how rushed they are with all the demolition… I mean, improvement, works going on. And precious little extra help for them.

5Fri009Back to the flat, where I met the chappie who did the carpet cleaning and had a little chinwag. Deana passed by hurrying to an appointment. (She’s always up to her neck with work to do.)

The mini-aliens had revisited the lifts. Hehe! No idea what was they bombed the carpeting with. (Might have been Black Kryptonite? Haha!)

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 4.18/10: The knocking and banging coming from the next flat were naggingly persistent. I assume Doris is having her plastering done today.

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 5/10: I had the embarrassment of calling the Clinic and apologising to them for my not showing up for the appointment. The last three days have been right disasters and frustrations for me. Today seems to be carrying on, if not getting worse, now! I’ve indeed shown myself up as a milquetoast, with the bank and Nottingham City Home and Willmott-Brown all showing little interest in my problems and my spunkless reactions to this.

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 5.2/10: I tried to get onto the bank site on the computer. A right farce it was, getting to put in the new code. Had to work several times before it let me in – Then I had to change the temporary PW with one of my own. You know; You must use upper and lower case letters numbers and give your barefoot height and favourite member of the Beatles, using 9 > 21 digits, on a Wednesday afternoon… Hehe! I’d taken too long picking a code, and it threw me out, telling me I must start the whole procedure again! Irritability Level; Now 4.9/10

Set out to catch the bus down the hill and walk to the chemist in Carrington. Met Cyndy on the way down, she always cheers me up. Irritability Level; Now down to 5/10.

Had a chinwag with a gal at the bus stop. We both got off in Sherwood and walked for a way along together, she was going to her local Doctors and then to do some shopping.

I pressed on along Mansfield Road towards Carrington.

A Nottingham Pavement Cyclist on the other pathway across the road was moving along at a fair rate of knots, but not in a straight line, or anything like one. I think the two full, heavy-looking shopping bag on his handlebars and his backpack were affecting his balance. So, it is just as well he was on the pavement I thought. A little further on he stopped, to take a swig of lager, I think it was, then carried on his circuitous wobbling ride.

I plodded on down the hill to the Carrington Pharmacy. Feeling stupidly confident the prescriptions would be ready to collect. After all, I called in there on my last blood test visit, just to ask them when the medicines would be available. They told me Friday 6th, and I irrationally and insanely believed them, went home and wrote this down on the written diary and Google calendar.

Whoopsie O1 Irritability Level; Now 7.9/10: Of course I should have listened to my EQ and not bothered going. They were not ready. I could fetch them in the morning. I wanted to tell them of all the hassle they have caused me, and tell them I do not wish them to do my prescriptions anymore! But, being the faint-heart that I am, I said nothing. I just gave them my authentic disappointed, chapfallen, down-in-mouth look, and walked out without saying anything. Revue of Irritability Level; Now: 8.9/10

5Fri012Despite my frustrations, I spotted these flowers, growing through the gap between the bricks on a wall. Bootiful! Spring is coming.

I walked along Mansfield Road to the Lidl Store and bought food I didn’t need to. My depression was getting real now. I bought a TV guide (the last thing I need, I can’t stay awake to watch anything), Cheese Twists, Cobs, Wiener mini sausages, tomatoes, potato slices and a Melton pork pie.

Whoopsie O1 When I arrived at the self-serve counter and put the things through, I forgot how to get the total up, I pressed the Finish & Pay button, but the total cost did not appear. I was on the card-only till, and had to ask the helpful 6’4″ assistant who looked as interested in my problem as Jeremy Corbyn would be in remembering Margaret Thatchers birthday. He just barged me out of the way with his elbow, he never spoke,  pressed some buttons and then I could swipe my card, and walked away, treading on my toe as he did so! Irritability Level; Now: 9.2/10

I was more sad and pessimistic than ever now. I left and out to the bus shelter.

Whoopsie O1 The bus arrived, and I had to sit on one of the side-saddle seats. This did not please Hippy Hilda at all. I only travelled for a few stops, but when it came to getting up to get off… I kept everyone waiting as I struggled to get up without risk of the zona orbicularis causing too much pain. (See, I do listen to the doctors, Hehehe!) The silence from the driver and other passengers spoke volumes. Before the bus pulled up and waited for me to get up and off, there was a hum of gossiping, this all stopped, while I made my way off, keeping those passengers waiting to alight the bus waiting too!

I did feel a fool! Irritability Level; Now 9.5/10

I walked up and into the Boots shop. They did have some straight Magnesium in stock. But they wanted £6.85 for a pot of 30! Hippy Hilda soon eased-off after I got walking again.

I left Boots and hobbled further up to the top of the hill and went into the Holland & Barrett store to look for some Magnesium tablets. They were charging £9.17 for a tub of 300. So I bought one. (Yes, I’d forgotten that I’d ordered some from Morrisons) What a foolish Chaim Yanke I am!

5Fri011Spotted a little more Nottingham Street art on Mansfield Road.

I called in the greengrocers and bought some more tomatoes and three of the seedless oranges. Why I don’t know. I didn’t like the last ones I bought a few days ago? But the lady did smile at me as she took the money off of me, and said: “I’ll see you again, later”.

Caught the bus up to the flats. Feeling tired and weary in the extreme now.

Got back to Chestnut Walk and made my way home to the flat.

Put the fodder away. No wee-weeing needed.  Made a brew and got on with the updating of this loquacious diary.

I took a break and knocked on neighbour Doris’s door. She was in. I asked her if she might like one of the oranges and a cheese twist. She liked the idea of the twist and said she would warm it up tonight. No orange for her though, she cannot eat them.

After several hours, and two hours beyond my regular head-down time, I got the nosh sorted.

A cheese twist, sugar-snap peas, potatoes and that was enough. For I felt so tired and worn out, my appetite was minimal. But I fancied the cheese twist.

Whoopsie O1 Serving up the nosh, I dropped the cheese twist, and it fell straight 5Fri016into the waste bin without touching the sides. It landed on top of the used medical swabs, so no way was I going to even think about retrieving it. Humph!

Irritability Level; Now 10.5/10 – I’ve lost all heart and faith in life here now! Hehe!

The meal minus the cheese twist, of course, was appetising enough.

Whoopsie O1 But yet another Whoopsiedangleplop had to be contended with. While in the recliner eating the meal form the tray on my knees, the orange slipped off of the dish. I continued to enjoy the meal, finished it and then got up to wash the pots, and had a look for the orange. I could not see it, so went into the kitchen and cleaned the accoutrements.

Came back to have a ‘proper’ search for the orange. Despite feeling so tired, frustrated and irritable at this day’s disasters and failures, I spent ages, looking in incredibly unlikely places for this piece of citrus – it’s still AWOL.

I got down in the recliner and began to analyse the events of the worst day of the year for Whoopsiedangleplops… Drifted off in seconds I reckon. Kept waking up with the wrist itching like mad – repeatedly?

Should my EQ ever warn me of another day like any of the last five days is imminent, I don’t care what the ‘agony and torment’ bringing Nottingham City Homes, or Willmott-Brown tell me about not opening the windows – I throw myself out of one!

Inchcock Today – Thursday 5th April 2018: Mayhem ridden busy day!

Thursday 5th April 2018

Maltese: Il-Ħamis 5 ta ‘April 2018

Around midnight, I sprang awake, right in the middle of a dream. I wrote down some notes on the pad to use later, and drifted back into the land of Nod, hoping to continue the dream I’d been enjoying.

0256hrs: Woke up, and remembered bits of the dream, saw the notepad scribble and decided to get out of the £300 second-hand recliner, which I did, to the complaints of my doing so coming from Hippy Hilda. Tsk! I wanted to do a graphic of it while it was fresh in my muddled brain. Got the computer on and created this representation of the nocturnal hallucinations.

4Thu001In my sleep: I had emerged from a grave, Andy Cap hat still on my head, and gone to a tree to have a wee-wee, the tree spoke, through a knot in the trunk that appeared to have lips, thanking me for wetting its trunk. He added something like; “Great drug content in your urine old man, I don’t need the blood though bruv. See you tomorrow!” I think I might have given the bark a hug?

But I had got lost returning to my grave and was wandering around hunting desperately to find it again. I could not recall what was written on the headstone. But, I knew that it was covered in splashes of plaster! I think I enjoyed this dream.

UGTue3Apr01iJust when I thought the anguish of the dreaded Willmott-Brown contractor plasterer’s visit to scatter curtain rings around, and plaster all of the carpets, windows, radiator, kitchen sink, WC bowl, front door, a chair and polished wooden furniture, was easing too. It isn’t. Have I lost it or what, please? Double-Tsk! He also left the curtain on top of the working radiator.

The problem is trying not to class the other excellent workmen in the same category as this inept, uncaring imitation human being who has destroyed my home and willpower.

I’ll talk with Cath today at the Social Hour meeting about this. Show her the photographs. See what she says and thinks about it. I’m not expecting too much understanding in return though.

0330hrs: Off to do the Health Checks and take the medications.

4Thu02

4Thu01Went to get the clean togs out of the spare room. Took this photo of outside. Eerie?

Had a wee-wee.

Got the ablutions tended to and had a Porcelain Throne session. Messy once again. But at least the evacuated product was of fewer colours today. There was no bleeding whatsoever from Harolds Haemorrhoids either. Little Inchies Fungal Lesion made up for that, what a congealed leakage I had to sort out. Humph!

Then, I got on with finishing the Wednesday Diary off.

4Thu030445hrs: Then made a start on this one. Got up to here.

0545hrs: The Morrison delivery is due between 0600 > 0700hrs. I stuck the camera out through the narrow gap permitted in the unwanted new kitchen windows. I was amazed to see two free parking spaces. Admittedly, one of them was for disabled drivers.

Had a look at the WordPress Reader section. Then did some commenting.

4Thu040654hrs: The Morrison man arrived.

Not so many bags and they cost £10 less than last weeks. Goes a little way to recouping the £30 I’ve been forced into spending on Carpet Cleaning accoutrements!

Got the things out, and there seems a lot of them for the money spent, this time.

4Thu05

The sugar-snap peas looked a bit fresher than the last lot. But the Thoroughbread loaf only had one days life on it. Goodness gracious me!

Got the fodder stored away. Put the bread for the Obergruppenfhureress Wardens, in the bag of nibbles and raffle prizes with the crispy snack mini-slices for Jenny.

Got on with WordPressing again, until 0825hrs. When the door tone to Dusty Springfield’s ‘I only wanna be with you’ rang-out. It was the Willmott -Brown trouble-shooter bloke. (Clipboard) You know of him, he’s the one who said he would be at the flat at 0800hrs two Thursdays ago so I could get to the Doctors on time – and he was late! Ahem! This time he was made welcome after he said that Jenny had told him of my problems with the aftermath of the plasterer’s onslaught on my flat, carpets and furniture.

The Gentleman was patient as I pointed out the worst areas (80% of the apartment) affected. He took some photographs and did apologise, saying it was unacceptable.

God Bless and thanks to Jenny. My Angel. (Well, hubby Franks Angel really, sorry Frank). She is my Wonderwoman.

He departed, saying he would catch me later to get things sorted out.

The place was at times, a maze (that’s not the word is it?) of noise from the works taking place all around. The earlier sounds before the workmen started, was from right old Big Bad John.

I got the photographs I’d taken yesterday of the Derby Stonewall tops and readied them for working on later. I hope to get them looking like mountains and add people and things to the pictures.

Set off to the Social Hour at the Temporary Shed that is also some workmen’s breakfasting room, the Obergruppenfurheresses HQ, Meeting Room and Social Hut.

All set, (I thought) I set off to the Meeting. I got as far as just outside the foyer doors and realised I was wearing the wrong glasses on my head. Back up in the lift and swapped spectacles.

Down as far as I got last time, and Oh Vey! I had not got my hearing aids in! Up again and collected them.

This time I did get a few paces further up Chestnut Walk before I noticed I had not got the mobile phone with me. I felt obliged to go back for it, in case the surgery rang with the INR Warfarin doses and appointment while I was out.

4Thu06Out and through the obstacle course outside the flats yet again. I’d lost count of how many times I’d tried to get to the meeting. Huh!

The rain had stopped altogether, and the unwarm sunshine kept popping through the clouds.

I’d gone but a few paced, and the plasterer who did such good job of demolishing my flat for me the other day, passed me going the other way. To be honest, I did not recognise him. Let’s face it, I only met him for a few seconds as I was on my way out and he asked if he could do the job then. I’d left him on his own and off I poddled. I came back when he had been long gone, to find the filthy state of the carpets etc. Fair do’s though, he apologised and said he had tried to clean up the mats, but could not get it (the plaster) off of them. He thought the carpets might have been too thin, (I nearly apologised for this, myself to him!) cause he’s never had problems cleaning any others. Sacre Bluer!

4Thu07I took this photographicalisation, showing both old ramshackle blocks that are being upgraded and killing off a few elderly residents at the same time with worry, and the new extra-care care and the Obergruppenhureress Warden’s HQ in between them.

I pressed on to the Social hut. There were only fourteen people in there today. And just nine of them were residents.

I thanked Jenny for the assistance with getting the flat looked at. I handed everyone a little easter egg, luckily I just had enough of them with me. I put the raffle prized on the trolly, then went around with the box of nibbles.

I put the Sourdough loaf in the fridge for the Warden Obergefreiteresses.

Frank came over after I had sat down with Bill (William on Sundays) and Pete, I think that is his name, him who won the nine prizes in last weeks raffle. Frank sold me some raffle tickets. I handed them to two ladies who sat in the corner. Doris, one of the ladies, won a prize with one of the numbers. That cheered me up. And after they had drawn the raffle, the bloke and Bill had not won anything! Trust kind Cyndy to give him one of hers, bless her cotton socks! ♥

I gave Jenny the packet of small square crispbreads. I thought they might come in for her Saturday Morning Coffee sessions. When she said they would, it made my day. (The chest swelled up – it’s just that no one would notice with my belly wobbling out in front – Haha).

The lads tried to help me with the crosswords. But the ones we did try to do stumped us all. So I had to cheat and look at six answers in the back of the book. I’ve never had to do that before. Usually, there might be one or two I have to succumb to looking at, but six! The mind was just not functioning correctly.

4Thu08A lot of folks left early. By the time I departed and said my farewells, there were only three or four left in the shed.

As I left, the sun blossomed out. I took the opportunity to try to take a ‘Moody’ picture of the Winchester Court block. But I made a mess of it.

Back in the apartment, I met Doris and showed her the carpets in the flat. She was Godsmacked at the condition of them.

I made up a Morrison order. During which, I got a telephone call from the surgery, very complicated and mind-boggling affair it was too!

New receptionist I think. She gave me the INR dosages: Th 2 – Fri 1.5 – Sat 2 – Sun 1.5 – Mon 2 – Tue 1.5 – Wed 2. But, she forgot to make an appointment for me. Gorblimey! So I had to ask for one for Wednesday 11th April. I was informed there are none available. But she could fit me in on Thursday. I told her about the problems with having it done on a Thursday that I suffered last time it had to be on that day. (Not getting informed of any results or the next appointment until the Monday or Tuesday, then it was too late to fit me in, and I ended up going to the hospital for the blood test and getting told-off!) She said she could fit me in on Thursday. (I was losing the will to live by then!) I said if they can’t fit me in on the 11th, I’ll go to the hospital for it. The reply: Oh yes, I can fit you in on the 11th. I mentioned that the eleventh was Wednesday, not Thursday. Oh, yes, but I cannot get you in until later! I asked when. 1030 is the earliest available. My head was now spinning, and I accepted the appointment. She did not inform me of what the INR level actually was! However, I knew it had to be low because the dosages had increased exponentially.

Concentration was now at a minimum, and mental-anarchy and inner maelstrom almost made me dizzy trying to keep it all together. I had to get these dates down in the written diary and Google calendar straight away, in case I got it wrong or forgot.

Then Sister Jane rang me. I’m afraid that I must have sounded a bit vague as I struggled to analyse what was being discussed. Hope I didn’t miss anything significant or urgent that Jane said. (Oh I did feel a right incompetent Meshugener!)

I got the dates in the two records. Then realised that the Wednesday Blood Test Appointment clashed with Foot Lady Sue coming to cut the toenails! Gnash! I had to ring the surgery to change the hard fought for an earlier appointment. She turned it to 1145hrs for me. This is going to be fun: I might well fall asleep on my way home from the blood test.

Phew! I hope they are right.

Made a start on updating this post again.

The doorbell chimed. This time I didn’t mind at all. It was Cyndy. The girl meant to go to Malcolm’s flat with some leaflets from Blind4you, who she got her new blinds from.

I asked her in, to show her the mess. She was astounded at how bad a condition that the carpets had been left in. I wrote down the name of the company (Blinds4you) in my memo book. When all the building and upgrading work is completed, I will use this company to get them from.

Back to the computer and updating this blog, again.

No, I take that back!

Willmott-Brown’s stalwart Jay, knocked on the door, with a spray bottle and scrubbing brush in his hands. Bearing in mind how late (For me) it was, I greeted the lad with good spirit.

He set about answering his phone – and found it difficult to see the scars left on the carpet. But set about doing his best with the tools supplied to him, to clean up the carpets. A good hour or so later, he had done all he could. But I knew there was still marks all over the hallway carpet and some in the living room, too. Naturally, the gifted charming good-looking young could not see them; with his not understanding how good they were before the plastering disaster job. I managed to force myself into telling the bloke that it was just nothing like it was before the plastering as done. In the end, I showed him the carpet in the spare room, telling him that this was how the other carpets should look. Eventually, and it took some time and discussions, I think he realised that I was right. He pointed out that people have been trekking through the hallway carpet. I told him I had had no more than eight visitors in nine months. And five of them were workmen. We did have a joke or two and could understand his reluctance to accept that the carpets looked fine before the onslaught from the plasterer. He spiritedly gave it another go. Gave-up, and told me he would report things to his Obersturmbahnführer, and inform him of the situation. I pointed out that tomorrow, I have the chemist, clinic and bank to visit, so would not be available, suggesting that Monday would be better. He said his farewells, and off he trotted. Nice geezer.

4Thu09

I started yet once more to update this blog. I got as far as to here, and fatigue overcame me. (It’s getting on and late now for yours-truly) Still much to get done and prepared for tomorrow, but I was incapable of any further concentration.

I got the nosh ready. Had a cold one tonight, so I could save time cooking and get some sleep in… Please,!

No sooner had I thought this, and BBJ started banging about up above. I was too tired to cry. Haha! Sob!

4Thu11 The fodder was a disaster; I have to report. The ‘Extra Strong REd Cheddar sliced from Aldi, might as well have been made of cardboard. The tomatoes were equally as bland tasting. The Lancashire Thoroughbread was tough and dry. The sliced apples bruised. The Baxter’s Beetroot rock hard. The chicken sticks were alright, but nothing special. The beef chunks were chewy and insipid. The sugar snap peas had to have the mouldy ones picked out before risking eating the others, but they did taste good. The seaweed was okay. The lemon mousse was delicious. Overall I can only rate this one at 5/10. A pitifully anticlimactical meal!

4Thu10Later, the following morning, I found this picture I had missed earlier.

I took this one as that handsome Del Boy like the beast from Willmott-Brown, Jay, was doing his save the day activities cleaning up the mess for me. He’s just finished in the room here, and in celebration, the sun tried to come out a  bit.

I must remember the things I need to try and get done tomorrow. Bank about the codes. Chemist, for the prescriptions. GUM clinic to see Dr Petrauskas. New picking-up sticks to replace the one that mysteriously no longer worked after plastering session, and the one I fell over while using it and broke it! I realise that all these things cannot physically get done on one day. And my days are getting shorter the less sleep I’m getting. The lack of buses situation on the weekends. My inability to work with any effect after around 1600hrs each day. With all the late visits by the contractors, telephone calls, etc. I got lost a bit there, sorry.

I washed the pots and got down in the recliner, and listened to the noise above and wondered if I would be able to get to sleep… then, in what seemed like second to me, I drifted off into heaven! Ahh!

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 4th April 2018: A Strange Day

Wednesday 4th April 2018

Yiddish: 2018 מיטוואך 4 אפריל

0400hrs:  Up much later than usual, thanks to the Nottingham City Homes paying Willmott-Brown to do the upgrading work, and their sub-contractor plasterer bloke; Who left my flat in a terrible mess with dry and semi-made plaster over every carpet, cabinets, the windows and even on my furniture and walls. His kindly putting and leaving the curtains on top of the heater was not appreciated either. Nor was his wet plaster that had run down the inside and dried, stuck to it! – I’m still feeling uptight and discombobulated.

Jumping Jehoshaphat! Grenfell, to be repeated! Talk about showing contempt and disrespect! And this work, is taking place at a significant cost to make the flats a safer place to live in? It’s indeed given me much pain from Anne Gyna and Duodenal Donald. Not to mention the hassle, worry and dirtying the flat!

Sorry about that. But I’m still stewing inside at being treated so awfully like an old senile nobody who does not matter… Which is probably true anyway. (No, stop it, Inchcock! Things will not be put right with your whining and griping on…) Desist, you fool!

Only Duodenal Donald, with a bit of hassle from Hippy Hilda, was bothering me at this moment.

Once I had detached my klutzy body from the £300 second-hand recliner, I seemed to settle down a bit and felt a tad more in-line, nearly standard, and a smidge of optimism lingered. Not for much, mind. Hehe!

I got the Health Checks done. There is a bit of a change in the readings this time. Sys has dipped again, and the pulse had shot up to 94. I’m not sure if that is good or bad. But I felt okay physically. (Mentally is my problem – Thank you Nottingham City Homes, Willmot-Dixon and their plasterers of questionable quality… [Stop it”]).

3Wed01

3Wed02I’m on the last bottle of the ineffective Antacid Medicine. But, the prescriptions will be ready to collect on Friday, I should last out.

I made a brew and took the medications.

Then on the computer to begin finishing off the horrendous Tuesday diary. Thanks to Nottingham City Homes, Willmott-Dixon… (Stop it!)

Made sure of the appointment for the blood test. Made up the nibbles for the staff, got them in the bag. I remembered about getting the AA batteries, Carpet cleaner and Magnesium tablets made a note about this and put it in my pocket. By Jimminee, I’m almost getting organised here… better be careful. Haha!

Back to the WordPressing. Had to stop, or I would not be able to get the ablutions done in time to get to the doctors in time for the blood test. So, I went off for a scrub-up. Guess what I found? Plaster in the WC bowl and on the floor! (Thanks to Nottingham City Homes, Willmott-Brown and the plasterer… Whoops, Sorry!)

Collated everything needed and got to the door to go out.

3Wed03

I could have started crying when I spotted the state of the carpeting, even after all my best efforts and injuries obtained while applying them to try an clean it up. And failing.

3Wed04I forced myself to ignore this, as best I could. Went out into the flats entrance hall, and turned back to lock the door.

Feh! I even spotted some bits of plaster that had been splashed on the outer door! Hamana hamana! What next?

I went down in the lift. I could hear workmen drilling on the 8th and 4th floor I think.

3Wed05When I exited the elevator, the electronic information sign indicated it was 0756hrs, the 4th April 2018, 5°c and drizzling outside.

Oh, and we should all pay our rent first.

I pondered for a few seconds on this point, regarding the unwanted changes being done over the past seven months, with many more months of work yet to come. The Nottingham City Homes and contractors Willmott-Brown, have cost me a lot of hassle, money and pain.

  • The wrongly positions Kitchen heater, having to be moved so I could open the drawer and cupboard will cost me getting someone in to redo or repair the holes left in floor and plaster the holes in the wall underneath the windows.
  • Getting someone to clean or even buying new carpets that have been extirpated by the plasterer yesterday!
  • The hassle of Willmott-Brown changing every single appointment for work they have done cost me medical dates and periods of ill-health, and Whoopsiedangleplops.
  • New curtains to replace the ones left on top of the radiator yesterday.
  • The electricity bill, nearly doubling since the installation of the new radiators!
  • The dust and grit got into the computer, stove and… I’ll stop here, I regret having gotten carried away again – Apologies for waffling still!

3Wed06Out into the drizzle, and wound my way through the maze of barriers and scaffolding to the Glass Recycling Bin.

Which was overfilled and boxes of bottles and jars laid beside it. Deposited my bottles of empty Antacid medicine and Balsamic vinegar amongst them Dry Gin, London Gin, various Wines, Guinness, Port, Champagne, Brandy, Vodka, Whisky, Tequila, Rum, Cognac, Lager, Cider and even an Absinthe one! Pretty good for a five-day period? Alcofrolics of the world, eat your hearts out! Hehehe!

3Wed07I was already limping a bit with the plates-of-meat, and Hippy Hilda began to play up a bit. Got to the Obergruppenfhuress Warden HQ, all locked up of course at this time.

I took this photograph, looking back at the flats and showing the hut on the left.

The drizzle was very light.

3Wed08A little further on Chestnut Walk, I heard the cooing and spotted this chap on top of the trees. He was giving out his Wood Pigeon warble, that said loud and clearly: Come on girls, I’m free! Hehe!

Onwards I hobbled to the end of the road and turned right down Winchester Street Hill. As I said earlier, carefully.

3Wed09Not far down, I took this picture. A rare and precious one, too. It is not often if ever, I have walked down this hill and seen only one car on the roadway!

I gently carefully and slowly made my way down  Winchester Steet, left into Mansfield Street, right into Marshall Street and left onto Mansfield Road going up the hill towards Carrington.

Near the butcher’s shop and Chinese Takeaway, two pieces of Nottingham Street Art presented themselves on my path, that needed circumventing, for obvious reasons. Haha!

3Wed10

I continued up the incline, but I stopped a few times to let Anne Gyna and Hippy Hilda have a breather. Over the crest and down to the Sherrington Park Medical Centre easily enough, downhill is far more comfortable for us old ones, you know. Hehe!

3Wed10aIt started to rain as I was going through the outer entrance door.

Another new receptionist was on the desk, both this lady and the other one at the back were on the phones. I waited patiently, after all, I was very early arriving.

Gave the lady my name and told her I was in for a blood test. She said she couldn’t find me on the computer system. That’s nice. She asked my date of birth, which I gave her. After a minute or so, she found me and asked what I had come in for. I repeated what I told her on entering the place; A Blood Test. She looked little severe and said, You are early (As if it was a crime!), take a seat, please. So, I did.

Had some difficulty getting into the low chair, what with Hippy Hilda doing her best to escape from her retaining acetabulum every time I try to bend down. Bless her!

I got the crossword book out, but it was a miserable session, with few clues getting answers from me. Five minutes later, I got a gentle yet authoritative poke on my shoulder, from Nurse Ann! Apparently, she had been calling me from the other end of the room, and I did not hear her. So she came over to let me know. The expression on her face forced through a false semi-smile, and she rushed me, still with the rare little-practised smile on her face (Very unnerving!) into her treatment room. This, along with the mayhem and debasement I am suffering. At the hands of those doing the upgrading works reminded me of part of Joseph Goebbels speech given on Hitler’s 56th Birthday. “All forces of hate and destruction have been gathered once again, perhaps for the final time, in the west, the east, the southeast, and the south, seeking to break through our front.” Hahaha!

She reminded me that she only had 8 minutes per patient to get the blood taken, so had no time for gossiping. (Had I been of a braver disposition, I’d have mentioned to her, that it was still ten minutes before the appointment for this blood session begins! But, my being a chicken-hearted, gutless, namby-pamby, invertebrate, I said nothing. She took the blood and found time to smile at me again and to say a few words. I gave her the Easter Egg and departed. Handing in the nibbles for the other staff at the reception. Said my farewells and set off on the walk back into Sherwood.

3Wed11The bush in the posh house on Mansfield Road in Carrington was now beginning to bloom. And the beautiful pinkish flowers were radiant.

I pressed on ASAP up the hill and down then up again along Mansfield Road into Sherwood.

I called in the Wilko store to have a look for some Magnesium tablets. A lad kindly asked me what I was searching the shelves to find. I informed him, and he went to ask his Supervisor She returned to tell me they do not do them anymore, no one was buying them. I pointed out that I had been purchasing three tubs a month. This statement was not answered. She informed me that I could get Magnesium with vitamin B6 added to them. (I think this was the same as what I was told yesterday in their Broad Marsh, store) The old confusion kicked in here when Dizzy Dennis visited me. I ended up buying some. But don’t think I should use them after all until I get the all-clear from the nurse or Doctor. Tsk! I then went off a mammoth spending spree, thanks to Willmott-Brown and… Sorry. I spent a fortune on stuff to get the carpets cleaned. Vanish Gold, Dettol spray disinfectant, a scrubbing brush, the tablets, some AA batteries, cistern blocks… £41.75. But with the Special Offers, it came down to £32. Savings being made, on the Dettol spray, Vanish Foam and the AA batteries.

3Wed12I struggled with the weight of the bags, out onto Mansfield Road. The rain had stopped altogether.

I took a photograph of the now busier traffic. Much to the disapproval of the Herbert in the red hat?

I wandered up the road, with about fifteen minutes before the L9 bus was due. At the bus stop, was a lady from Woodthorpe Court. She was reading a ladies magazine and did not want to have a chinwag. Roy joined the queue and got on a direct City bound bus.

On the L9  managed a bit of gossip with the gal and some other passengers, for the few stops we travelled before arriving at Chestnut Walk.

We got to the apartments and up the lift. The lady getting off on the fourth floor.

When I saw all the stains on the carpets, all the misery returned.

I did the Health Checks, then put the gear away and had a wee-wee.

5Fri001I looked at the Magnesium with Vitamin B+ tablets.

Blimus! They were big! Much more massive than the Trental ones, and sometimes take on getting down. I could not decide whether to take them or not. Next time I go out, I’ll have a look to see if Boots or Holland & Barrets sell the plain ones. I might have to risk these if none of the straight magnesium ones is available.

They do help keep the night cramps down a bit, I think. Sandie Lentz recommended me using these, and they do work. Thanks, Sandie ♥.

1300hrs: I got the computer on to update this blog.

3Wed12a1545hrs: Got it done up to here, and got the meal in the oven. I hope I can eat more than yesterday.

At least, BBJ’s noise from above stopped me falling to sleep and letting the fodder burn.

The ready meal was an Asda-Walmart Lasagne Al Forno. Never heard of these, but the picture on the outer wrapping looked good. IT said on the back of the sleeve, it was finished with Pecorino cheese. Never heard of that either. I looked it up on the web; “Pecorino is a family of hard Italian cheeses made from ewe’s milk. The word derives from Italian Pecora meaning sheep”.

I made some stuffing to go with it, but it didn’t turn out well and only ate a small bit of that. Last of the beef chunks were alright. The Chinese seaweed was okay, too, as were the sliced tomatoes and extra cheddar cheese I put on top of the meal. Overall, an 8/10 for content. Hehe!

A little late again in getting the head down, and surprisingly I struggled to get to sleep. I put on the Munich film to watch, and was soon off in the land of Nod, the dream-filled world of respite from reality.

Inchcock Today – Monday 2nd April 2018: Another death in the building, something else stolen from a flat, the Odd-Sock Syndrome returns, Rain, snow then rain again, Virgin Internet kept going down, and Crampy Craig attacks. Just a normal day at the Winwood Apartments. Hehehe!

00550hrs: Up and out of the £300 second-hand recliner within minutes of waking. Some form of rare-determination and will-power had overtaken my usually tepid yet obedient to psychosis and wandering off of on its own accord vacillating route and path of my mind.

1Mon05I collected the ready to go laundry bag with togs and accoutrements and was off and down the lift by 0112hrs.

Into the laundry room and got the machine going in a couple of minutes. Then back up in the lift to the apartment and straight on the computer to start creating this post off.

The time flew, 1Mon01aand it was soon time to go back down and move the laundry into the dryer.

A belated note about another of our clan of residents passing away. We’re dropping like flies this year!

Back up to the flat again, had a wee-wee and made a brew.

Odd that no Porcelain Throne demands had been made yet from the innards?

I got the Health Checks tended to. Made up the graph for the nurse on Wednesday’s blood test.

1Mon07

1Mon07aAs I was taking the medications, I wondered whether I should still be swallowing so many of the pink Trental Pentoxifylline tablets. I was prescribed them before the heart operation years ago.

I looked them up. The first site said; “These medications work by improving blood flow in the arms and legs. Pentoxifylline is used to treat chronic circulation disorders of the arms and legs, such as intermittent claudication (peripheral arterial disease) or trophic ulcers due to a poor blood supply.” I dug further, did a search with the name and heart, and got: “For patients with chronic occlusive peripheral vascular disorders of the extremities.” The last page indicated; Side Effects

1Mon07b

The information possibly goes a way to explaining things. I might ask Dr Vindla about this later. They had mentioned possibilities relating to current ailments: Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, Anne Gyna and Dizzy Dennis?

1Mon01bDown to collect the laundry from the dryer.

Noticed another new sign on the notice board this time, a plea from the owner of a Glade Air Freshener spray, who lives in flat 21, for it to be returned by whoever nicked it!

Add this to the things stolen from the Obergruppenfurher Wardens Temporary Shed and Social Hut, and I think we may have to call in Columbo, Frost or Sherlock Holmes in to sort them out. Hehe!

1Mon08Extracted the clothing and got it folded and into the bag. Cleaned the filter and drum and found yet another odd sock!

Up to the apartment with the bag, and got it stored away.

It was 0320hrs when I had finished all the laundry room duties. Good going eh?

I did take a photograph of the electronic signboard near the lifts, but that too disappeared into the ether! I’m getting fed-up with this happening!

Just like yesterday morning, I heard that loud noise as if something was falling and landing on something hard? But there was no way could I identify where it was originating from. Most annoying.

1Mon01I then updated this blog to here. Then, finished off the Sunday diary.

Went to make a small mug of tea. Waiting for the kettle to boil, I went in the spare room to have a search for the odd brown sock. No luck!

But I did take this photo from the window. Bit of a ‘Moody’ one, do you think?

Back to my beloved computer to Check the Emails. Can you believe it!

1Mon001

Luckily it returned in a few minutes. But going so slow now. Took me ages to get the email postings done.

WDPBL The flat has turned cold suddenly. My legs felt so cold too. I went around to check the windows and door were all shut and closed-to. The door was closed and locked. Spare room window, the wind was coming in through the two areas awaiting filling-in. The Kitchen window frames not letting anything in, but where the vast regions are also pending filling-in were, not only wind but rain was coming in! The front room, where the deeper holes around the outer frame, where I can see the pebble-like stones that fill the outer wall, it was moving the curtains with the incoming wind!

Back to the kitchen and made a mug of tea – and had to leave it to get cold, due to the startlingly accelerated need to use the Porcelain Throne! Another multi-coloured evacuation today, but far less messy with it, and no blood from Harold’s Haemorrhoids. So glad I invested in the Germaloid cream, now! The fungal lesion was a different story though, fresh and dried blood everywhere. Still, it is a quotidian event recently, so no surprise to me.

The tea was still just about warm enough to drink, so back to the computer.

I made the WP comments, then went to the WordPress Reader section. Next, back onto CorelDraw to create the header graphics for seven days, and save them to drafts. It took me over three hours, but I was pleased I’d got them done.

During these three-and-a-bit hours, boy did the weather change!

1Mon17

Did the Health Checks. Then back to the WordPress Reader then Comments.

I wish I could send some of the rain to Alburquerque for my cyber-friend Tim to have. There’s a bit of a shortage of precipitation in New Mexico. Thinking of this reminded me that Tim made a comment on Saturdays post, which made me larf!

“From Tim Saturday: Ace Inspector Inchcock comes in on the scene of a murder. “What do you think Ace Inspector?” asks one of the officers on the scene. “I think I have to wee-wee.” Replies Ace Inspector Inchcock. While standing at the urinal waiting for his prostate and bladder to reach an agreement, he looks up at the ceiling and reads “What are you looking up here for? The joke’s in your hand!” After a few chuckles, Ace Inspector Inchcock says “That’s it!” “What’s it?” the officer asked as he walked into the wet room. “The Joker!” Replied Ace Inspector Inchcock. “The Joker did it.” And the brilliant Ace Inspector Inchcock solved another murder.

Hehehe! It tickled me.

1Mon001

Made a mug of tea again, and did the third Health Checks. Tidied the wet room up.

Noise from BBJ above. Got the oven warming up, ready for the meal.

Feeling drained as well, now.

2Tue02abGot the meal served up.

An Asda-Walmart Cumberland Pie with extra cheese on top, half a mini-minced-beef puff pastry pie, tomatoes, mashed potatoes with cheese and some seaweed.

Followed by a lemon mousse and a mug of fresh orange juice.

Ate it all up, then tried the internet.

Computer back on again.

2Tue02adWDPBL Not that I could do much on it, as Craig Cramps came on in the left hand and fingers. I couldn’t have picked my nose let alone type accurately.

Went for a wee-wee, that was interesting with the fingers all bent, painful and uncontrollable. Hehe!

I turned off the computer, too tired mentally to concentrate, anyway.

Another wee-wee and I settled down for an extended period of nods-off-waking-ups.

Huh!

Inchcock Today – Saturday 31st March 2018

Saturday 31st March 2018

Amharic: ቅዳሜ 31 ኦገስት 2018

WDP03a0330hrs: Fiddlesticks! I woke up feeling a bit lively (even if only in mind as opposed to the body), decided I’d get the laundry done first thing.  The moment I stirred my wobbly-barrel-like body to remove it from the £300 second-hand recliner – the ailments convinced me not to do down to do the laundry. Hippy Hilda and Duodenal Donald combined with Dizzy Dennis to make the start of the day a somewhat uncomfortable one.

I had planned to get a bit of cleaning up done before Sister Jane arrives tomorrow to tell me off. But, the slightest stretching or bending was painful, kicking Donald into misery-making action. The situation might change later on though.

6Sat04I hobbled (The tootsies have been sore for a while now) into the kitchen to do the Health Checks and take the medications.

Made a strong-brew of Yorkshire tea, that was very welcome indeed and went down comfortingly. (Is that the right word?)

The pulse is still low, I think.

6Sat05

I had to get to the Porcelain Throne in haste, as things burst into action in that department with such rapidity, almost explosively. I only just got there in time. This evacuation was the one with a significant difference. Quick, not so messy and no bleeding from Haemorrhoid Harold whatsoever! Little Inchies Fungal Lesion had been bleeding, as usual. Cleaned-up and back to the kitchen.

Another mug of tea had to be made to replace the one that had gone cold. Foolishly as it turned out, I decided to use the fancy bigger cup.

6Sat03

WDP03a It slipped from my shaking Shaun grasp, hit the floor and the handle broke off. Getting down to retrieve it was disturbingly painful and started Anne Gyna and Duodenal Duncan off. I managed to cut the left thumb on the broken pottery where the gripper used to be. Well, pickle my walnuts! Afterwards, I noticed the vein along the back of the digit showed up on the skin, I wonder why? I carefully wrapped the broken pieces in some kitchen towels and put them in the black waste bag… carefully! Hehe! On the bright side, I was glad I bought two of these mugs and made a brew in the broken receptacle’s brother Cautiously!

6Sat08I spotted the rain on the kitchen window. I know I said I would not risk taking any more shots from outside of this window, because of the dangers and limited view offered now they have made the openings so much higher and farther to reach to. (What a mouthful there? Haha!)

I was in a right state to try stretching, so I just stuck the camera out, while trying to protect it from the rain, and blindly snapped a photo.

Not a bad effort, considering. It came out a bit of a ‘Moody’ one. Perhaps. Maybe. Possibly. Mayhap? Or not.

All pure pot-luck of course.

I started to create this blog, and got as far as here, by 0610hrs, then went on to update the Friday diary.

0730hrs: Began getting Friday’s diary concluded and posted off.

After four-hours of creating page top graphics, getting only three done, and listening to that Git upstairs, Big Bad John banging about, I made another brew of tea.

I thought I might have a pie, potatoes and garden peas for a change later. Just a thought, like.

I spent many more hours on doing the page top humour graphics. Accompanied all the day by Big Bad John’s rattling and banging on and off.

Went to prepare the meal, get it cooking.

Did the Health Checks.

I took a photograph of the meal, but another one goes AWOL into the ether, never to be seen again? Tsk!

I flaked-out watching the Gogglebox.

Inchcock Today – Friday 30 March 2018

Friday 30 March 2018

Armenian: Ուրբաթ 30 Մարտի 2018

0235hrs: Woke feeling a bit cold and coughing. Then realised, as the brain slowly stuttered into a life of sorts, I was wearing my trousers and not the jammie bottoms? Remembered then, about last night’s farce, and understood why. The mind refused to operate logically, but the body seemed to get out of the £300 second-hand recliner of its own accord. Off for a wee-wee. The brain engaged when the lesion started bleeding. Cleaned and medicated things and to the kitchen.

5Fri001Kettle on, and took this photo of the morning view. The blue moon sneaking through the thick clouds. The lift from the new build site seemingly pointing this out to me.

The ailments were all being nice to me. A bit worrying this. Hehe!

5Fri001bMade a mug of tea, nipped back to the wet room for another wee-wee.

Did the Health Checks. With the INR Warfarin results suddenly being so high, at 4.6, from last weeks 1.1, I hoped the excessive bleeding would not start again.

5Fri002

When I did the graph update for the DVT unit, I noticed that the pulse had been gradually going down for a few days: 98 – 88 – 87 and today down further to 81. I could not help but wonder if this is a sign that the mechanical ticker might be running down? Just a thought.

I got the computer on and began to update the Wednesday diary. Didn’t get it finished until gone 0500hrs.

A sudden demand for the Porcelain Throne was responded to. There was minimal bleeding from Harold’s Haemorrhoids. However, when the evacuation was completed the resultant lingering malodorously mephitic aroma had even me, coughing and spluttering.

Started this blog off up to here. Then did some WordPress Reading.

1Mon001

5Fri005There I was, sat sitting waiting and hoping that the Virgin Internet might come back on, and I noticed an incredible looking bird out through the window, that was perched on the scaffolding. I whipped out the SD card from the computer and got it in the camera ready to take its picture. The feathered beast looked like an ornament, all smooth, it was coloured grey with black and white markings at its tail end and around its neck. Only a small creature, about the size of a sparrow. Maybe a little larger. As I began to focus and zoom in on it, in a flash, it was gone! It was like I blinked, seeing it beforehand and it was gone by the time the wink had finished. (Hope that makes sense?) I didn’t even notice it fly off. I’ll have to look up some birds on the internet later. Because this fascinated me.

With it being the holiday weekend, I went to check on the L9 buses and days they will be operating. But…

1Mon01

So I need to get some fresh foods in stock. I must remember to try and see Jenny, and give her some of the meals from the fridge for the poorly lady, Doris I think.

Did the next Health Checks to save time later. Time to get the ablutions done now. Had an excellent scrub-up and got the black bins sorted and dropped in the waste chute. Got prepared and off out to call at the Social Shed to see if Doris might need some of the meals. I can ask Obergruppenfurheress Deana, Untersturmbanfuhrer Julie or Jenny if any one of them is in the hut.

5Fri006Took this photo of the compound, cause I thought it might come out as a ‘Moody’ one. But it didn’t. Hey-ho!

I strolled come limped along slowly to the Warden’s hut. No one there all locked up.

So I proceeded in a downhill Northerly direct on Winchester Street. (Haha!)

This morning the clouds were hidden by a light eerie mist high up in the sky.

Only the plates-of-meat (feet) were giving me any hassle on the way down. They were in a terrible state. However, none of the other ailments caused me any concern at all.

Right and up Mansfield Road and into the Co-op store to see what fresh tomatoes they had on offer. All Spanish (Not tasty, their vegetables this time of year from España) Come think of it, they are pretty lousy tasting any time of the year!

So, I left and hobbled up to the Wilko Store, cunningly avoiding the avaricious Big Issue Seller outside the Co-op. It’s just that someone with three mobile phones asking for money finds me a little unresponsive. I wanted to see how much they (Wilko) charged for Germolid cream if they stocked it, and the same with the dust covers. I can use these in the following upcoming messy jobs to be done in the flat.

I ended up spending £24.70 in the shop! But, I did get a bottle of liquid soap, Garlic capsules, Nasal decongestant, a large Tarpaulin cover, two smaller thinner dust covers, a roll of 40mm black bags, a packet of yoghourt covered peanuts and a small tube of Germoloid Triple Action cream. That cost me £3.50 for a tiny 25g tube. I did a search earlier in-between The Virgin Media Internet going down. Germaloid 25g Triple Actions require payment of £3.99 at Boots, £3.79 at Hyperdrug, 2 for £11.29 on Amazon, and £3.19 plus delivery, whatever that will cost online at Express Chemists. And at BluKoo, they want £5.40 a tube! So, I think I got a bargain. Sadly a deal I shouldn’t have needed, having now received the tube of Anusol Haemorrhoid cream yesterday, that my kind Doctor Vindla supplied for me via a prescription on Thursday. I’ve tried it three times now, but find it very disappointing, ineffective I’m afraid. The Germoloid cream, although I have to pay for it, is so much more useful for me, where the Anusol is not anywhere as beneficial in giving relief, for my Harold’s Haemorrhoids.

I paid the lady on the checkout, and left, walking back down the hill, on the outside of the pavement, thus avoiding the ‘Three Phone’ Big Issue seller again, and to Winchester Street Hill, and started the uphill trek back to the flats. Within a couple of minutes, Anne Gyna let me know her displeasure. I had to keep stopping all the way up the steep, long hill. But, it gave me many opportunities to take some local photographicalisations.

5Fri011

As soon as I turned left onto Chestnut Walk, Anne Gyna started to ease off. And I appreciated this so much, as I slowly returned to my usual magnificently muscled ripped body and energy, and jogged along at a rapid rate of knots, to the Wardens Shed. 1Mon01a Hehehe!

As I found the place still locked-up, it slowly dawned on this Coup de maître of memory-loss, that it was a holiday, Good Friday! Chuffing heck: has Inchcock the Nottingham pensioner lost it or is he still just in the process of losing it?

So, that is the reason why there are no workers or staff on site today! This also means a Saturday bus service today, none on Sunday and none on Monday! What a memerisationalistical nincompoop I am!

5Fri010Feeling discouraged and disappointed in myself, I pressed on limping back to the flat, without seeing a soul around.

I perked up a bit when I saw the electronic information board next to the lifts, though. Seems I did the whole trip down, shopping and got back up the challenging Winchester Street Hill, all in a just over two hours. Although it felt like four hours. Haha!

Got the covers and bits of food stored away, and started to update this diary. For a while anyway, because…

1Mon001

Got on with the last, very early Health Checks.

5Fri003

The pulse-rate continues to fall still. Mmm?

The internet came back on after resetting failed, my turning it all off and starting again solved it.

I tried to go on TFZers on Facebook, but it was so slow, and then, once again…

1Mon001

5Fri012I turned it all off and went into the kitchen, to sort out what would be for dinner later. I opted for bacon and sausage in tomatoes. Had a wee-wee. Checked the door for any mail. An envelope with £2 in it had been posted through the box. It was from Jenny. I assume it was payment as she insisted yesterday, for the Fresh Cream Scones I handed her. Bless her Cotton Socks!

I took the medications and went back to the computer, and it was working again. Updated this blog. It took me ages to get up to here.

Mate BJ rang. Wanted to know if I’d like to go to the Papplewick Pumping Station Steaming with him and David on Sunday. Proof once again of my rotten luck, ill-fortunes and merciless everyday disasters! If Sister Jane and Pete had not changed their day to visit me from Friday to Sunday, I would have jumped at the chance for a half-day out at the PPS and enjoyed it so, I’m sure. Ah well. Too late now. I had to explain things to John, and felt terrible about it.

There was then a dirty-great whooshing sound from somewhere close. I could not make out where from or what it was. Of course, it is impossible with the new windows, to look out and down, although I tried. A little later there were drilling noises from somewhere. I know the workers have the next four days off (Friday to Tuesday) so it won’t be them. It might be Big Bad John? But if it is, he’ll be making the noise in a different room, I think.

Got the bacon in the oven while I worked on the computer. Then when cooked, I added it to the tomatoes in the saucepan, while I wrapped up the computer working.

5Fri014

I savoured the nosh of canned chopped tomatoes with added Balsamic Vinegar and basil, smoked streaky bacon and hot dog sausages with two slices of the Lancashire Thorough Bread.

Put the tray on the other chair and drifted off to sleep while trying to watch something, oh yes, The A-Team, on TV.

6Sat001Woke, and got the pots washed-up.

An eerie mist descended upon Sherwood.

Back to the recliner with a mug of Fresh Orange Juice.

Settled and saw that some Hetty Wainthropp Investigates was coming up on the goggle-box. But, I nodded off when the first set of adverts came on.

Woke as the credits were scrolling down the screen at the end of the last episode of the Hetty Wainthropp Investigates finished. Sacré bleu!

Hearing noises from Big Bad John in the flat above again, put me in a low-mood. Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Thursday 29th March 2018: A mixed day, that ended badly. Tsk!

Thursday 29th March 2018

Serbian: Четвртак 29. Март 2018

0315hrs: I been laying there in the £300 second-hand recliner for about an hour. Half-awake, half-asleep, with the mind stewing, brewing, fretting, worrying and waiting for the brain and body to amalgamate into some form of a controllable unit.

The brain informed me that I was thirsty and fancied a mug of strong flavoured tea. The moment I moved my blubbery body to escape 04Thur01the recliner, my insides erupted. Duodenal Donald’s attack, caught me off-guard.

Off to the kitchen to make a brew. I took this close-up photo of the morning view of the residential locale.

I made the brew, took the medications and took a good swig of the chimerically ineffective antacid medicine. The rumbling from the innards continued.

Did the Health Checks.

04Thur03

Updated the Wednesday diary, and got it posted. Visited the WordPress Reader site.

Made a start on this one. Remembered that the food delivery was coming twixt 0630 > 0730 hours. So limped to the wet room to do the ablutions and change into the day clothes.

All refreshed, invigorated (Might be pushing it a bit using these words, Hehe!), and smelling nice, now.

Made up the nibble box and put it in the bag with the raffle prizes and cream cakes.

The Morrison van due anytime now, a made another cuppa and did a search for suitable graphics to amend to use as page tops.

04Thur04Ten minutes later the chap arrived with the groceries.

He kindly lugged them into the kitchen for me and was amazed at the mess left from the working installation fitting of the windows.

A grand bloke he was.

I got the things that were delivered stored away. Sacré bleu, had I gone potty and lost the plot with my ordering the fodder again!

04Thur05

04Thur07And besides this lot in the pictures, there was stuff I’d already put away in the fridge, including three more Cumberland Pies. Oh, and for some unfathomable reason, I’d ordered more potato pancakes, and 3 packs of three kitchen towels!

There were some things I could just not remember ordering in there.

04Thur12xWDP001 I had to take some things out of the freezer and dish them, to make room for the Brobdingnagian bag of chips.

I think I’ll take one of the ready meals to give as a raffle prize with the other stuff with me later, to the Winwood Social Shed Hour at the Temporary Obergruppenfureress Warden’s shed.

Back on the computer to update this post. Then I did a bit of prep work on the first of the Page Top Header graphics on CorelDraw and CorelPhotopaint.

An hour or so later, I got the bag and set off out to the Social Hour.

04Thur12x2I ambled out and along Chestnut Walk to the shed. Entered and went in to talk to Obergruppenfhureress Warden Deana in her little HQ room. Had a laugh and while I was doing this, the mobile phone burst into life. T’was the Sherrington Park Surgery receptionist.

Who gave me the week’s dosages for the Warfarin, and made the next appointment. Deana gave me a Stick-it note page to write them down on. Which I did. Then I stuck the note inside the Crossword Book cover to remember to write them down on the diaries later.

She also told me that Dr Vindla (With the twinkling eyes that drive a man crazy!) had put some Haemorrhoid cream through to the dentist, and I can collect them today. I thanked her.

A lady appeared who wanted to talk to Deana, so I withdrew, leaving the sourdough bread.

Into the central hall area, to find only around fifteen tenants in attendance. I offered my greetings openly to them all. Cindie and Jenny replied. Ah, well! I sought out Jenny, to hand her the two fresh-cream scones I’d got for her from Morrisons. She was reluctant to take them from me unless I allowed her to pay for them. But I genuinely did not know what they cost.

Welsh Bill was feeling a lot better today and distributed a sarky, put-down and a direct insult in my direction. So glad he was getting back to his usual mode.

Cindie was in fine form. She led the gang in singing for a ladies happy-birthday song.

BBJ was his usual sneering, superior snotty self.

I put the readymade meal in the fridge and explained to raffle-organiser Frank, what I had done.

I got seated next to Bill (William on Sundays) and Lucky Pete. (He won about six raffle prizes again today). Good for him. They helped me with the crossword this week, but they were not as good as the pair are normal. Hehe!

Although few of us there, we all, (Apart from BBJ, but you can never tell with him, he never smile, but does occasionally give out a worrying sneer) seemed to enjoy ourselves.

I made sure I gave them all a cheery farewell, and four of them replied. Not BBJ, of 04Thur14course.

I set out on my walk down to Sherwood, to catch a bus into Carrington and call at the Pharmacy.

At the corner of Chestnut Walk and Winchester Street, I held the camera over the top of one of the fences and blindly took a photograph, not knowing at the time how it would come out or what would be in it.

Turned out a decentish picture, I thought. A little further down the hill, I took a snap near the bend in the road – then tried to hold the camera in a steady grip and same position, and zoomed into the cloud formations near the centre of the photograph, and took another one.

04Thur19

This formation type I think, (I looked them up on the internet), are called Mammatus. Similar to the last nights.

Plodded down the hill to Mansfield Road and caught a bus for the four stops, and dropped off in Carrington. Cor blimey, I love my free pensioners bus-pass!

04Thur17Waddled over the pelican-crossing and down to the Carrington Pharmacy.

It was so sad to see that a row of six retailers, had all closed-down now. Although I wasn’t exactly surprised, with there being not a soul in sight! But it did leave in a eulogistical mood.

A new chap served me today, he seemed patient with me. His facial features reminded me of the owner, the helpful Deepak. He got the extra haemorrhoid cream prescription for me. I inquired when the monthly ones would be ready for me to collect. He unabatingly looked this up on his computer for me and advised me that it would be available for collection on Friday, April 6th. I thanked him and wrote this date down on the packet of the ointment, so I could add this to the diaries when I get home. Confident I would not forget this time! Oy vey?

WDP001 I thanked him and left, going to the bus stop to wait for a free bus-ride back into Sherwood.  The vehicle was well packed with passengers. I had to use one of the low down, side-saddle seats. Which caused me some difficulty in getting back up perpendicular again, Hehe!
Howbeit, the driver, was very patient with waiting for me to get up to get off the bus.

Crossed the road and up the hill to the L9 bus stop. Where Roy from the flats was waiting. We had a laugh and chinwag or two. When we got on the bus, there was Mary on her way home, with a large plastic storage bin. The driver was the lovely lady again. I slipped her a Wagon Wheel, I know she likes them.

Up at the flats again, and I asked Mary as we walked along Chestnut Walk if I could help her with carrying the plastic bin. No, she said no, it’s dead-light. We had a natter and parted when she got off on the 7th floor.

Into the apartment and had a wee-wee. Put the cream away in the wet room.

Got the computer on and added the dates to the Google Calendar and the written diary for the next appointment for a blood test and the prescription pick-up day.

Started to update this post. Three hours later, I got up to here on this dairy.

Got the oven on heating up, and the cheese put onto the potato cakes. I hope to keep a keener eye these this time, and not let them burn! Got the mushrooms sliced and in the saucepan simmering with fish sauce and wine vinegar added to the water. Fingers crossed they taste alright.

04Thur21I took this photograph out of the window in the flat.

Although I thought it was a decentish outcome as it turned out, some bits of it made me recall what is yet to come in the upgrading work. How I made some of the links is uncertain:

The foam sticking out of the unfinished outer window frame: Made me think of the balcony window frame, with its massive holes and the inside of the outer wall revealing its pebble filled contents. The dust, the noise of the work, the curtains ruined and not rehung.

The holes in the kitchen floor and wall they left me with after they installed the heater too close to the cabinet and drawer and I could not open or use them, and they moved the heater.

Those horrible window ledges outside that now prevent me from taking pictures of the roadway below.

The cranes, reminding me of the new block of a brand new extra care apartments and facilities being built for the new tenants, with a rooftop relaxation area.

My EQ told me things will not go well.

The fretting over wondering if I will live long enough to see the project completed. We’ve lost a lot of residents since the works began.

Did the Health Checks and had a wee-wee.

I regained some degree of sanity and got the pan in the oven and stayed in there watching the fodder cook.

WDP001 Checking the cheese covered potato scones, and my hand came out of the oven with some melted cheese stuck to the fingertip. Digit under the cold tap dried it, and Germolene applied.

04Thur20Got the meal on the tin plate, added two buttered slices of the Lancashire Thorough Bread and a pot of the Lemon Mousse.

My eyes bigger than my belly: so didn’t eat it all. But I enjoyed what I did consume. Felt a bit guilty about putting too much butter on the bread.

I went into the kitchen to wash the pots and 04Thur22realised I’d left the plate and tray on the Ottoman in the other room.

I watched as the cars below with their lights on in the drizzle made their way home. For a while, this prompted a touch of self-pity that I can no longer legally drive a vehicle. This lasted only a few seconds.

Had a wee-wee, changed into the night-attire and got down on the £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV.

WDP001 04Thur23As I lay there waiting for sleep to arrive and take over my thoughts, I felt my legs were so cold.

Then realised what a schlemiel I was, and felt a right Bozzo. I’d gone in the wet room to change into the jammies, and had taken off the trousers, washed and put the trousers back on again!

I thought about going back to change into the jammie-bottoms I’d left in the wet room, but by then, the Hustle episode was due to come on the gogglebox. I know I thought, I’ll watch Hustle and then go and change into the jammies… Neither came to fruition, I fell asleep missed the Hustle and woke up 6 hours later, time to get up!

Inchcock: Stultiloquence deserving and beyond help. Hehehe!

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 28th March 2018

Wednesday 28th March 2018

Finnish: Keskiviikko 28 maaliskuuta 2018

0505hrs: Oh, what a terrible night. Nightmares and nice dream-ridden, waking so often and fretting, fearing and planning; The drain was in turmoil. The Doctors at 0905hrs, meaning I have to start the ablutions and medicating no later than 0705hrs and hope there are no ailments that need extra attention. Did I do a Morrison order or not? Little Inchies Lesion is a bit painful. The flat needs cleaning, but will I have the puissance or desire to do it; with all the mayhem, dust and noise. The promises of so much more to come as well. I assumed I had got up so late because it took me so long to get to sleep last night.

How will I find time to get these diaries done?

Chuffing heck! It’s already gone 0500hrs. Such a lot to get done. The mind was semi-concentrated and forced into a mock-cogent state when the demand for the use of the Porcelain Throne presented itself.

After yesterdays dirigible-shaped evacuations and multi-coloured content, now I have football shaped ones. But, minimal bleeding from Harold’s Haemorrhoids. The stomach started rumbling and grumbling afterwards? Washed and to the front room to turn on the computer before going to do the Health Checks.

3-2Wed 01WDPAb I caught the view outside, and thought, ‘What a nice scene, I’ll photograph this! (Below left).

And promptly walked into the centre Ottoman on my way to get the camera! I believe I might just have used a naughty word.

By Jiminy, those shins of mine have taken a good battering over the years. Hehe!

3-2Wed 01aApplied some Germolene cream and got the photographicalisation done.

The unstoppable wild thoughts returned to my feeble mind again. Rampaging through some kinder emotions, was the terrible, desperate tones of depression and confusion. Making any sensible ideas dissipate from the equation of sanity.

I poddled to the kitchen and made a brew and did the Health Checks.

3-2Wed 01b

3-2Wed 01cWDPAb To the wet-room to do the sample, and the flipping lid cracked when I was closing it. Cleaned things up again. More time lost!

Took the medications and made sure that the INR DVT record card was in the jacket pocket.

I became aware that the laundry needed doing soon.

Checked to see if I had got a Morrison order placed. I had done one, for Thursday 0630>0730hrs.

Started this post going.

Nearly 0700hrs already, and so much more needed doing. Cleaning-up, this and yesterdays diaries doing, GUM Clinic to ring, INR blood test, black bags to sort out, get some Germoloid cream… but, I had to get the ablutions done first.

Ablutions all done. Got the black bags sorted and took them to the rubbish chute.

Got the glass bottles and jars in the bag. Then realised I’d missed the little bin bag, so added that in the carrier too. Took the new brolly with me.

3-2Wed 01dSet off, with plenty of time to spare.

As I left the foyer entrance. I had to thread my way through, fencing and scaffolding to get to the glass recycling bin. Almost full it was. I think my Medicine bottle, Mushroom jar,  Soy sauce and Vinegar bottle were the only ones that had not had alcoholic contents. ‘Touch of jealousy, here? Hehe!’

3-2Wed 01eTook a photo of the new build and Winchester Court as I limped along to the end of Chestnut Walk, and right down Winchester Hill.

No rain yet as forecast. The weather was good, dry and not windy either.

Also, the body was working well this morning. Apart from the plates-of-meat that were somewhat stinging. Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna, Reflux Roger, Duodenal Donald, Hippy Hilda, Dizzy Dennis, Hernia Harry, Haemorrhoid Harold and Colin Cramps all giving me a breather. Good!

3-2Wed 01fAs I passed by some house entrances half-way down the hill, I felt glad I didn’t live in some of them.

These ones (And many more of them), had six deep steps to manoeuvre to get into or out of their house.

On plodded on down and cut through the side streets onto Mansfield Road. Left up the hill 3-2Wed 01gtowards Carrington.

Apart from the feet, there was still no bother from any of the ailments. I often wonder why it is that I wake up in different states of health so often.

But I’m not complaining about it this day, mind you.

3-2Wed 01hOver the brow of the hill and into Carrington and the Mapperley Hall Drive – Mansfield Road junction nearly produce an RTA for me to photograph. It often does this, for it is a nasty crossroad intersection for the drivers. It is used as part of a ‘Rat-Run’.

I limped on down to the surgery and entered the reception, and I was greeted with smiles and hellos this time.

3-2Wed 01gbThere were about twenty-five minutes to spare before the appointment. Blimey, I made it there in good time.

Having logged in, I got seated and worked on the crossword book.

Five minutes later the nurse came out and called my name. It was not Nice-Nurse Nichole or Arbeitsleiter Ann, but the new k Nurse. Who is as yet, to be granted a nickname by the old man, Inchcock. She seemed in a good mood this time, and made a little gossip of her own accord? I think Tim Price may be right, and I’ll take to her later.

There was little if any bleeding after she took the samples. This made me think that the INR DVT Warfarin level will come back as being rather low again. Not too small that I need the Enoxaparin injections, I hope.

All sorted out, I gave the nurse her nibbles and gave my farewells. Then realised that the small bag of rubbish, I had put in the bag to drop off at the chute with the others, was still in my carrier bag. I was so appreciative and surprised when the nurse took the bag and told me she would deposit in their bin for me. We seemed to be hitting it off now!

To the reception desk and I inquired about how I go about asking for the Doctor to add some Haemorrhoid Cream to my prescription list, without actually bothering with an appointment. Then I explained to the ladies, about the Germolene cream was such a relief for me to use. But with the cost so high.

The receptionist gave me a form to fill in. During which, my Doctor Vindla came into the reception area and out again. Donating a look to me, that spoke volumes, as she went by.

3-2Wed 01iLike, “Huh, you again!” “What is he doing stood behind the reception desk?” and “Jumping Jehoshaphat, he’s still alive!” I can read her like-a-book, but she is straightforward and tells things how they are.

I love her to bits!

Handed the receptionists their nibble bag, and made my way out and started the long walk along Mansfield Road in the opposite direction this time, back to the flats.

3-2Wed 01jUp the hill and down into Sherwood. Turned right up Winchester Street Hill and Anne Gyna gave me some bother, a lot of problems. But, this is normal when I hobble up the hills, especially one as steep as this one.

As I stooped a few times to let Anne calm down, I realised how well I had done today, and this is the first time any real-hassle has been experienced on the walk. And, besides, as-well-as, what’s more, and also; I had not lost the umbrella! Haha!

The last burst of hard fought for energy got me up to the top and along Chestnut Walk to the Obergruppenfureress Wardens Temporary Shed and Winwood Social Meeting place. What a mouthful! Inside waiting for the first bus, were the beautiful Cindy. Maria and two male tenants. We had a little nattering session, I like Cindy, she has a sense of humour too. I offered my farewells and departed, continuing the last lap of on my way home to the apartment.

It had been only a short walk to and back from the surgery, compared to some I make now and then. Well sometimes. Er, occasionally. Alright, once a month or so! Haha!

3Wed0001a

3-2Wed 01lUp to the flat, got in and had a wee-wee. Did the Health Checks and made a small mug of the Olde English Breakfast tea. I think they are on a par as my favourite ones along with Yorkshire tea bags.

Big Bad John made a crashing noise upstairs. I hope he’s alright.

Then the drilling sounds from outside, I assume the Willmott-Brown lads are doing either some windows or cladding work.

I got the computer on and carried on updating this post. (I must remember I have not finished yesterday’s yet, and do it afterwards!) I spotted a lady outside in the lower field, and my heart warmed. She had two dogs and boy, were they enjoying themselves. Another dog had left his or her own in the top field and came over to investigate the other dogs as the toyed with the lady as she threw the balls for them. You can see below, how nippy the little white dog was, the ball is coming down above his head, and he has a bead on it already. Seeing such fun and happiness rubbed off on me. I found myself going to make another mug of tea and singing to myself as I did so.

3Wed00b1

It was eellogofusciouhippokunurious watching them. Link here to get advice on the word, Hehe! eellogofusciouhipoppokunurious

Got back on the computer, and started to update the Tuesday post. Finished this eventually, then returned to updating this one.

Got carried away with the email checking and reading. Put the oven on to warm up.

Went to the WordPress reader next.

Very late now, so I closed down and got the dinner prepared.

3Wed31It felt a little odd, eating so early in the day, for me.

Not the best of meals I’ve ever prepared or eaten. Well, I didn’t eat anywhere near all of it. The main reason for this being that I overcooked the potato cakes with cheese on top. These reminded me of when Dad used to cut the leather for when he was mending his boots, belts and shoes. The frikadellen were alright, and the sugar-snap peas and mushrooms too. Everything else seemed to all have a repulsive taste? The stomach started ailing and grumbling when I was half-way through eating what bit I did.

I knew I was in for some Duodenal Donald confrontations soon, all the usual signs and pains indicated this. Huh!

3Wed32Went to do the washing up, and the cloud formations and layout was astounding. I don’t relay ever seeing the clouds so layered if that’s the word. In fact, this reminded of when I had the mechanical ticker installed and came round in the Side CC ward, everything I looked at for a day or three, seemed layered similarly.

I suppose there will be some meteorological explanation for this.

There was a programme on the Goggle-box, about the Grenfell disaster, that I wanted to watch, but it was on at 2100hrs, well past my head-down time. But, I stayed awake to watch the preceding ‘Hustle’ episode, in about 60 to 190-minute parts! When the apartment fire survivors came on, I stubbornly continued to fall asleep and wake all the way through it. I hope it is shown again later, but earlier in the day.

I nodded off within seconds of the documentary ends.

Woke up later, with the innards in turmoil. I took some of the barely adequate antacid medicine and an extra painkiller. Despite the pain, I fell asleep again, and slept from then, for another three hours.

My EQ tells me I am going to suffer more physical and emotional pain tomorrow. I sometimes wish this curse of at the time of the test; having the highest EQ ever recorded in the UK, but lowest IQ, could be reversed.

Inchcock Today – Tuesday 27th March 2018

Tuesday 27th March 2018

România: Joi, 27 Martie 2018

0259hrs: I woke to remember a dream I think I was having at the time. I was on a bus, got up to get off, and started getting up again to get off… Every time I got to the door, I found a different driver sat there. Not the foggiest idea about anything else in the dream, just this never-ending until I woke up; getting up going to the door, seeing a different driver and I’d find myself back in the seat getting up again? I seemed to feel happy about this in the dream.

I lay for a long time, pondering, fretting, the mind in vacillation-mode. When I regained a degree of control over my thoughts and tempered them, I dismounted from the £300 second-hand recliner.

WDP03a Crikey did I find a right mess on top of the Medication Ottoman or what?

2Tue02fIt looked to me like I had painted the imitation leather lid with something sticky during the night. I remember putting some BBQ sauce on the meal and not having or using any of it. Perhaps when I put the tray down it slipped off, and the thin sauce ran over the edge… What am I waffling on about? I have no idea where the gunk came from.

I fetched a bowl of hot water and cloth, then proceeded to try and clean it off. Not with a great deal of success, either.

WDP03a Then while on my knees unsuccessfully wiping up the mucus-like goo, I found two teaspoons on the floor between the Ottomans. A closer inspection revealed a pencil and nail-cutters, which I cut the back of my hand on when retrieving them. I spent a while attempting to get the lid looking presentable again. All of this pales into insignificance, compared to my laughable (Even to me!) farcical almost slapstick efforts to get myself back up off of my knees and onto my feet. The pain from Hippy Hilda, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna amalgamated to form a formidable fighting force with frustratingly fiendish plans formulated for me. Jointly they ensured I’ve had just about as much trauma as it is possible to, in just standing back upright again. And a visit from Dizzy Dennis rounded-off the activities.

WDP03a Then, feeling rather pleased with myself, I returned the bowl of dirtied water and the spoons to the kitchen – that was when I trod on the nail-clippers!

Cleaned things up, and got on with the Health Checks.

2Tue01

2Tue02abI made a delightfully strong-flavoured mug of Olde English Breakfast Tea and imbibed the medications.

But, the tea had to wait, and an instant gurgling came from the innards. Thus, I made my way as quickly as could to the wet room, to utilise the Porcelain Throne.

The massive evacuation; that brought to mind the Graf Zeppelin dirigible came with just a few spots of blood. But the airship-like content was multi-coloured! Multiple shades of the usual colours, with streaks of white and red in it. Naturally, I shan’t show it here, but I took a photograph of it, to show the doctor on Wednesday. Shook me a bit seeing this.

Little Inchies lesion was in a right mess: I just cleansed it, I’ll do the medicating later when I do my ablutions. I had enough pains from other areas to cope with at the moment. (I’m repeating myself now. Tsk!

I washed up and changed the PPs and applied some Germoloid cream to the rear-end. I must get some more soon; the tube is getting low on content now. I took an extra pain-killer. Worra start t’ day!

I felt as if I’d been up for hours and hours, and so tired for some reason.

Got the computer on, and started to update yesterday’s diary. Got it done and posted off.

Then made a start on this one.

Made up this with some photographs from the balcony and spare room windows. When I opened the window in the old bedroom, now a junk room, the locking mechanism sprang off. So I could get out easier to take the one of the builder’s compound.

I checked the weather forecast on Google to see if it might be okay for me to get out and buy some more Germoloid cream without getting too wet. Precipitation: 59%, and rain forecasted for every day this week! Humph! I’ll stay in I think. I know I have to go out tomorrow for the blood test, so I’ll get wet going there, and might as well stay damp and carry on into town afterwards to get the Germoloid tube then?

I tried to get on the TFZer site to post some photographs. Slow but it’s letting me post some onto the albums. I even did a bit of posting and commenting on the TFZ site. Hurrah! But, it froze again later.

BBJ upstairs is banging about again!

Hamana-hamana-hamana! Drilling coming from upstairs and outside now! The builders I expect.

I actually got some TFZer Facebooking done before it started to jump and freeze. I think I managed to close or block Messenger as well, I  hope I did, this computer does not like it, and often problems arise with using it, although I don’t since I stopped using it, of course.

Did the Health Checks and made a cuppa. Then got some bikkies and watch a YouTube documentary. For ages long.

WDP03a When the workers had packed up, Big Bad John’s noises could be heard. I wonder if he is making a submarine, H-Bomb or metal Teddy Bear?

Got the TV paper and saw that the England v Italy match was on the TV. But I didn’t expect to stay awake long enough to see it all, I did the last Health Checks and got the ablutionisationalistical duties tended to. If this job is done now, so in the morning, I could get away without a shower and have a quick stand-up wash. I presumed, (rightly as it turned out for once) that I would not be getting up at my usual 0000hrs to 0300hrs if I am going to try and stay up to watch the match. I even thought I could watch the Scotland game which was on later on tonight.

2Tues001eI got the meal prepared and eaten earlier than usual.

I got the ready to cook potato slices and dropped some grated Leicester cheese on the tip of each one. Into the oven with them.

Sat in the £300 second-hand recliner while they cooked, and I fell asleep. Marvellous, the one time I want to stay awake, too!

WDP03a Then, I woke up wondering where I was and what I was doing and saw the red light on the telephone flashing. Tsk! Some food delivery service again!

WDP03a Settled again, just drifting off, and it rang again. Brother-in-law Pete. Coming with Jane to see me on Sunday now, not Friday.

I was in a sleepy, confused state, the above cannot be vouched for. Pete’s call might have on another day, like Monday. Oh dear!

WDP03a Managed an hour or so of kip and woke in time for the match. How I stayed awake to watch this lamentable match, I don’t know.

I thought it was a terrible performance all round from England. But with it being a friendly and the new players in the team tempered my frustration. Perhaps if they will listen to my offer to become the England manager now? Things might have been better. To start with about nine of the players would not have been in the team. As someone commented wittily of the BBC site, ‘They should have gone to SpecSavers.

Horrible nights sleep, when I eventually got off, I slept for around seven hours. A record for me. So, at least I can thank Gareth Southgate, the VAR and Italy for being nearly as bad as England were on the night, for my marathon Kip!

TTFN each.
