The worst day for months. I think I’ve got the flu coming on or something. Balance and concentration are all over the place. I took two tumbles in the evening, the last one when I was beginning to make the meal. The first one was okay; I was in the front room when I was let down by
, and leant towards the c1966, £300 Oxfam charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy & dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, Catheter-tube-trapping, recliner, avoiding the problem of getting up from the floor on my feet again. As I say, the second fall was caused by
giving way at the same time as I a mini
. No chance of avoiding a knee-crunching tumble that time. I’m fine now, though, physically. I put some pain gel on the knee, and took an extra painkiller, as the left knee was still
giving me some bother still from the twisting to get to the easy chair in time and on target. Which I found later, had annoyed
, so he got gelled as well.
My balance is still not right, but I’m taking it steady, just in case. Better safe than sorry.
My concentration has been AWOL all day long. I struggled to understand the Carers, although the gal at midday caught me in a moment of awareness… which lasted for about an hour, then back to the vagueness yet again. Bad, bad day, and I’ve got three callers coming in the morning… or afternoon tomorrow. Two social workers, and the toenail cutter gal. I may even get the rail for the bed delivered… no reason to expect it, just my EQ kicking in just told me of the chance.

03:20hrs: Night pouch.
Poor pictures of the view.

Morning mug of tea!

Mind-Blanks
The carer arrived, and I started on the computer afterwards. Vaguely recall, the photo helped.

Feeling a little more with it, and
came. Concentration was still not good, mind you. Kara put the leg straps on for me and changed the catheter day bag got me, bless her. She gave me some advice, I think, either on the TV or the Banking side?
Seems I made a JS order for delivery on Tuesday 23rd. I found it on the calendar when looking to see who was coming in the morrow, so I must have put the order in and recorded it. I checked on their site, and sure enough, I’d placed an order!
.
Not sure when I took this one.
Ah, I recall Sister Jane ringing me earlier on now. I even remembered telling her about the nosh I had planned and Was going to use the frozen bacon… and she told me to cut it up (take the fat off) while the bacon is frozen, which was much easier. And it was too!
.
This is the fat removed…
.
These are the lean bits I intend to do in the oven, and I add them to either a can of veg chilli or baked beans.
.
Can and sauce are stored upside down, so it will be easier to empty when using them.

it’s getting dark earlier!
And, I seem to be passing much better? Hope the nurse comes, and she might give me a chance to manually pee… although the last time she did, it was like trying to pass a crushed glass, and I failed.
Same again!
Tried to take some decent shots from the kitchenette window. The middle one came out pretty fair.
Quiz Revealed!
I found it – in 50 seconds, though.
Going to get the nosh made now.
Curried baked beans, oven-cooked bacon bits.
Tomato passata, liquid sea salt, vinegar, bread thins, a banana, and a pot of lemon curd dessert.

Got the pots soaking in the sink, and I made certain the tap was turned off. Returned to the itch-creating, bruise-giving, catheter-tube-tugging, crumb-decorated from my nocturnal nibblings, God-awfully uncomfortable, cringingly-grotty, no longer working, dirty beige, anti-sleep designed, c1966, second-hand bought for £300, ten years ago from the charity shop, recliner, and things started off… Rumbling and implosions from the bowels and bladder, immediate pains from
. Then a very rare headache started. Couldn’t watch any TV, my vision was more blurred than it ever has been for years! Sleep didn’t come until the small hours… but it was constantly broken as I kept waking up. Somehow,
crept into the few minutes kip each time I nodded off.
