Another ran out-of-time-day. Sorry if it is out chronologically,
mistakes-wise or if other errors appear. Mostly been created from photos and what few memory notes I scribbled – the brain seems to have gone on strike!
It’s the in thing nowadays!

Took the catheter bag of myself this morning – I had to cause the need of the Porcelain Throne was urgently needed, and with the other clarities etc., over the last two days with tripping and treading on the tubing, I thought it best.
Over the first hour of actioning, my magnificent muscular, fit handsome body from the terrible night’s sleep, I had to use the Throne no less than four times! Every one of them was messy and gooey, with cleaning ups needed.
After the first session, I decided to get the ablutioning done.
Part way through, I was trying to stop the third shaving cut from bleeding at the time; I had to use the Throne again.
Suddenly flooded the mouth, I think I must have broken off a bit of tooth near the gum. I got up automatically to get some toilet paper to use to stem the flow… but the evacuation was still taking place.
acci-whoop I did genuinely feel . Nothing new there, then! It took me ages to clean up again, and I was beginning to get self-irritated!

Back to the front room, now attired in my day clothes but no socks, I’ll ask my mate Carer Richard to help with those. A bit nippy this morning.

After a while of computing, the catheter started itching. The catheter bag’s elastics had dropped down the leg.

However, Richard arrived then. He got the medications sorted and told me I had to take the new Antibiotic course again, starting now. So, I did.
He then told me, as I showed him the calendar… I’d put the Catheter removal on a wrong day, it was today, not tomorrow, so I changed it.

.
I asked him if he’d help me get the specks on, please.
He said it would be best to ask the nurse/s when she/they take off
the catheter to put them on for you. To avoid any hassle while removing it? So I said I would. I’ll get something right today… surely I must?

Gave him some treats in thanks, and Richard checked the taps and stove.
Off he sent on his rounds. Bade him all the best and thanked him.

An hour or so later, when I was busily making cock-ups, and mistakes and forgetting what it was I was going to write after correcting the grammar I’d already written… I think? The was needed again.
But this time, unlike the eleven visits I’d made yesterday, had lost his grip on the process, and from nowhere, unexpectedly, my old friend had taken over command…

I was getting fed up with getting nowhere with the crosswords for ages. Counter the cracks on the ceiling… even had to give up on that. and are getting slowly worse. I picked my nose, whistled, and eventually, a mini-evacuation shot out of its own accord – the movement was over in seconds! annoying somehow.

Ah, a Highlight Event!
.
The beautiful DVT-Warfarin Haematology nurse arrived as I was getting off of the . I thought at first it was the door chime ringing, and rushed to get the trews up, got out of the wet room door acci-whoop(And casually shoulder charged the door frame as I left the room), and realised it was the intercom going (It being lit-up helped me notice it, Hehe!)
Hristina asked me how the hospital visit went as she came in. Now that was lovely of her! ♥ And she listened when I told her, too! Wonderful!

Computing again. I decided this time, I would focus on a venom. I was tenacious in my determination to concentrate on what I was trying to do.
I think I went into a slight . It didn’t last long…

Mistakes, ha! Sometimes I see them as thumbing my nose at the puritans. That phrase I stole from a fellow WordPress blogger & poet named Paul. Thanks, mate! I’ve been waiting for a suitable time to use it. (And remember it!

Visits from, and a nasty, but very rare in a sat down position put an end to my planned venture into pretending I could be capable again.
Instead of acting like a wordsmith and getting on with the blogging, I had to go to the wet room to try and stop bleeding. Yes, the dance had tugged at the Catheter tube in Little Inchie… bloody? Bloody sore at this moment still! Even delicate might be the word. Tsk!

But it turned out lucky that I did go to the wet room.
The catheter pouch was on the point of bursting, I think. Again, I had a job to pull up the trouser leg, so dropped them instead and emptied the bag

I decided to get the potato out of the crock-pot. checked that it was cooked before she checked the taps and turned off the heater for me.

I sliced the overcooked potato and got it in the oven with the last of the potato rostis in the oven to crisp them up. The last of the tomatoes and the vegan frankfurters (which tasted great!) and along with the last of the pots of strawberry jam thingumajig dessert.

Later, not sure what happened between this and the last thing, a touch of Blanks, methinks.
I do recall taking these pictures, though. I’m pretty sure I took them in SCN Handheld Nightshot Mode.

Not that they came out very well, although the bottom one of the car park was not too bad. A touch of eeriness about it? Obviously, the first one was taken like that on purpose. Ahem!

Carer Richard Arrived for the late-night call, and I was watching TV.
We had a little natter, and Richard changed the catheter night bag.
We had a minute or two of pleasant nattering away, but the lad was ready for his bed, bless his cotton socks. I went with him, catheter bag in hand, to the door and locked it when Rich had left. They don’t like me doing this, but I can’t get the picture of the yobboes who came into the flat one night. If the key-safe would work for use, it would not be a problem.

Then I got on the computer again, re-determined to get it done.

MYSTERY PHOTO

Not sure how I managed to take this photo. It must have been as I was on the computer, and the TV was still on. Trigger-Finger Problems? Hehe!

Rotten night again. Forever waking up with a jolt!

INCHIE TODAY – Sunday 8th January 2023

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Good Morning, Mon Amis. I’ve only just gotten around to doing the actual blog now. And it’s 15:30hrs already. Nowadays, everything is just taking too long to get done. The Mystery Lurgy chest and rib pains, Cataract Katey, Dementia Doreen, the lack of mobility with the Catheter needing emptying so often, changing from night to day bags… Concentration Conrad has gone to pot.
Ablutions take me two hours on average. Honestly!
Just getting dressed is a work of art and a strain and pain.
Will I ever see properly again? So I can do the Diary blog properly?

Will the Catheters be a permanent time-consuming feature on my manly, lean, mean, tough, muscular, hard masculine body?
So, I’ll put the photos on and anything of an exciting nature that may have occurred during the day. Not too much chance of that, though. Hehe!

I stirred into a pretend life, and as I moved the right leg, I forgot about the night catheter being attached and trod on the extended tubing while I supposedly caught my balance.
Realising my cock-up, I lifted the left foot from the tube… before I’d mastered the balance.
I tumbled back onto the £300, bought eight years ago from the second-hand shop, Harold Haemorrhoid testing, repugnantly beige-coloured, crumb containing, virus-breeding, acne-giving, rickety, none-working recliner. Landing on the arm and causing the delicate rear end to suffer a considerable clout!
At that exact moment, I must have caught the piping on my way down; the night bag began to leak!
(These tumbles seem to be almost quotidian this week)
As I was picking up the bowl and night bag, the need for the was sudden and urgent!
❹ I hastened ASAP to the wet room. But: unfortunately, ❺ and horrifically, I did not get there in time!
Messy job again, I got myself and the wet room furniture cleaned up…
And trod on the darned night bag; It burst open! More cleaning up. ❽ The bending down so often to clean things up yet again; started the Mystery Rib Cage Pains off! I detached the night bag and made sure I’d got the day bag valve closed.

I decided as I was in there, to get the done. Stripped off, which sounds and indeed used t lobe a simple job… until the Mystery Pains, Catheter and taking tumbles started this morning. Which went pleasantly well, actually. Considering the half-hour or so of constant cock-ups I’d just suffered.
Not a single cut shaving! The teeth bled a bit, although I tried to clean them gently. The eye-drop application went, as usual, more in the moustache than in the eye.
Getting clothes off to use the Throne was naturally done in haste, given the urgency of the need.
But getting the day clothes on was laboriously slow and hard work. The straps on the different type
of catheter bag had twisted and given me some new welts on my leg. Germolene applied. The new weekly day bag was already twisted, and it took me a while to get that sort of straightened top and bottom… ♫ Come on, let’s Twist again… ♫ Hahaha!
had been bleeding again.

After what seemed like hours… Oh, it was! Getting the bag, Porcelain Throning, ablutioning and getting dressed, I returned to the front room.
Had left it a mess last night. Hadn’t taken the waste bags with him or cleaned the medicine pot.
Also, he’s emptied the wee-wee bucket and not flushed the toilet. Amidst all the panic stations earlier, the stink was awful!

I got the Health Checks done. I was pleased to see I was in the High-Norm area again. Hoping for a hat trick in there tomorrow.

.
Enjoyed taking these shots of the late, partially clouded-over moon.
Shame they were not so good, but still.

I took these a few hours later on. The seagulls were food hunting again.
If they stay much longer (the gulls), there will be no wildlife left!

The rib pains kicked off again, and my concentration crumbled.
Nothing was sticking in the brain. Memories were escaping.

And I was in the right state. Apart from Carer Ty coming, who the others were is unknown. I do recall asking Ty to make sure he flushed the WC after emptying the pouch or bucket and not to put anything else down the WC.

I kept finding things on this blog that I could not remember putting on it. I was particularly proud of ablutioning paragraphs. Did I do them? These Mind-Blanks do worry me sometimes. But not today. They were accepted as part & parcel of living with Dementia Doreen! That I find weird, too.

I’m sure I took a lot more photographs today.
But these below are the last three on the card at this time?

Apparently, taken as the night wore on?

Better get something to eat.
Very nice too!

Carer RichardArrived to get cataracts… no, not them; the night catheter attached to the day one. Nice to see him again, but he was a smidgen annoyed at the doctor amid hospital crossed lines and different instructions on my taking the antibiotics. Like me, Richard is not getting updated on medical things. He said someone was going to come in a few days to take the catheter out. I’ve heard nothing about this from anyone, either. No one called me to advise me at all?

Getting to sleep was difficult yet again, and staying asleep, was impossible to do. The springing awake with a jerk went on all night. Humph!

Pity about yesterday’s little glitch. We could have had
a four-day period of High-Norms!

Morning snaps from the Kitchenette

Local swelling.
Bet they seem tight to our American friends?

Evening meal
New potatoes cooked in the crock-pot, then
halved and sprayed with olive oil and into
the oven to crisp them off.
Mock pork sausages, done in the oven with the spuds.
Two wholemeal baps. And a pot of strawberry jam
cheesecake. Taste-Rating: 7.9/10

Regretfully, a lack of detail in this Inchie Today.
Not feeling too good, and the mystery pains
in my ribs continue to ruin my concentration.

Night , added the night catheter.
With my not taking off the diabetic socks (Fool!),
The ankles have blown up considerably.
I tried to take a photo, but Peripheral Pete and
Dizzy Dennis had me unsteady, and my
attempts were not good. took
this photo for me of the leg.
This was his last call of the day. And he wanted to get home.
Which I suggested was a good idea!

Took me ages to get to sleep – not due to pain, worries or
any noise. But it was hours and hours before I managed to get off.
So bad I watched two football matches before my absent
friend Sweet Morpheus arrived.

Of course, the usual jumping awake, without rhyme or reason went on all night. Humph!

Oh, Worra shame – nearly got three High Norms on the trot!

Not-so-good photos

Old gay… I man day, catheter.

The challenge of the ablutioning and dressing.
But all went well.
No idea why I took this shot?

Bleeding and weeing. Hehehe!

A late showing moon?

Easy Link Transport to the Doctors.
The doctor doubts that the rib pains are connected

to the urine infection but offered no diagnosis.
Sent a prescription to the chemist for more antibiotics.
Easy-Lift ran me to the chemist to collect.
Then back to the flats.
Then lifted me to the hospital.
I was very far too early, but I was prepared with the
crossword book, pen and reading glasses.
Signed in at reception, and a full hour and a half

before the appointment, I was taken through to
the procedure room. The nice nurse sat me
down and told me someone would fetch me later…
20 seconds later, I was collected and taken into the
action room with the laser, camera probes &
colour monitor…
acci-whoopAlthough, in some ways, I enjoyed this
I was just dropping my trews to take down the PPs, and just
as I lost balance, the leg dance had me over, tumbling to the floor!
And three delicate-looking beautiful nurses and a doctor ran to my aid.
I think I enjoyed that bit, not the tumbling mind.
They soon had me on my back, strapped the shaking PN’s right side,
and began the procedure. I managed to get a few peeps of
my innards on the monitor.
I also enjoyed having the blood wiped away afterwards.
Free of Cancer was declared!
Cause of the tumble, they put me in a chat and wheeled me on the way back to the reception area and kindly ask how I was to get home. Thinking I was shaken up and not fit to go on the bus, told me a receptionist would phone a taxi for me.
When the gawk came to me, I asked if she could call Easy link to see if they had anyone free, if not, I’d get the bus. But Easy-Link came and took me back to the flat. in no time at all!
I was over the moon with the results, and for the first time in many a day, felt really close to being content.
.. But I knew deep inside this could not last long. It’s so out of the ordinary, strange, indeed weird for me to feel this way..
Back to the flat, and emptied the new catheter; while wondering how much I’d been charged on my account for the three Easy-Link trips today… but they were invaluable to me.
The workers had placed matting on the lobby floor.
Up in the lift, took a selfie in the reflection on the wall.
A letter was received as  I got inside. Too small to see.
Changed the new Catheter… looks a bit bubbly to me?
Had a wash and removed the hospital tab. Last time at the City Hospital Urology. I was given a blue one, and today upgraded to red? Hehehe!
I made a lovely meal for myself. However the of Woodthorpe Court, with the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions, and other grotesqueries that haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchcock; to curse with bad luck, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. worry and confuse me, were at it again!
The picture I took of the rather good-looking and tasty meal was not on the SD card… Yet again!
Got around to updating this blog, but it would not let me load any pictures? Got various messages that only confused me more.
Gave up after an hour of trying my best but failing to get it to work. (WordPress)

CarerJozeth arrived in a rush. Medications sorted.

Carer Kara arrived. Told her of my problem with WordPress, and while she was looking, it started to work again; were photos going on??? She got the medications sorted, fitted the night catheter, and asked about how the procedure went. ♥

Had a go on this blog, and around eleven PM, had to go for my fifth Porcelain Throne Visit since getting home.
AN INCHIE RECORD OR TWO BROKEN DURING THIS ENDLESS SERIES OF VISITS!

I KID YOU NOT!

❶ 23:45hrs: Struggled with the night bag to the . Sticky, gooey, smelly, not much of it.
❷ 23:54: ❸ 23:59: A second wave arrived while wiping my bum! Sticky, gooey, smelly, not much of it.

❹ 00:06: Sticky, gooey, smelly, now watery, not much of it… ❺ Only striated to bum wipe, and a dirty great dollop of almost liquid shot out! A Hat Trick on this visit! Sticky, gooey, smelly, and much more of it this time!
❼ 00:19hrs: I was soon back in the wet room, Night Catheter in hand, and getting worried now – Will it ever stop? Of course, the answer was not yet.
❽ 00:22hrs: I tried to get down to kip. But inevitably, another controlled mixture of goo and liquid literally burst out of the rear end, spraying and pebble-dashing the chinaware, my bum and the toilet! It arrived before I could get seated!
Cleaning up with one hand while trying not to step on the night bag tubing or drop and burst the bag, using a picker-upper with disinfected kitchen roll paper, and not falling over to clean up – I proved was impossible!
Clouted the forehead on the floor cabinet, pulled the new Catheter grips loose, and the night bag valve started leaking.

Naturally, there was no self-pity or feeling sorry for myself, cursing or swearing from me… Oh, no.

Sweet Morpheus Arrived!

05:00hrs: Woke, and almost in auto-mode, emptied the catheter pouch. Noticing that the colour was not so healthy-looking today.

Which was so pongy and under the complete control of . Gooey, smelly, messy, almost Karki coloured with a wet straw texture?

Emptied the night bag.

Not much wee-weeing being done? Seems off checking the bag to see if you’ve pee’d much. Hahaha!

The Iceland delivery arrived.
The fridge & Freezer look fuller now…
Cupboard too…
Accidental shot here.
I’m good at these…
Reserved for the next time, I run out of food.

Carer Richard. Arrived, sadly, his last call of the week. Boy, was he shattered! Yawning frequently, a few times I had to check he’d not nodded off!
Only joking! I’d changed the night bag when I was doing the ablutions. Richard had a look to make sure all was well with it. Got the medicines sorted and assured me that someone was going to look into the should I  Take -Warfarin-or Not senior for me today. Hat a little chin-wag, but the lad was so tired, I did not keep him from his much-needed bed. He went saying he’d have a word in the office before he left. Bless his Cotton-Socks!

Emptied the Catheter pouch and did some cleaning in the kitchenette.

Off to the again. Same scenario, messy!

Made a much-delayed start to blogging.

MERIDIAN’s TINA & LISA TO THE RESCUE

Came with the confirmation that I can take the Warfarin okay tonight. ♥
Wonderful, it’s a shame it’s taken eight failed attempts to get an answer.
I was tickled pink! Well, figuratively?
Tina had done what no one else could and got an answer. Thanks, Tina!
went through the lift bookings making sure I’d got it right. Checked th e list of things I have to take with me and got them into the three-wheeled walker in the folder for me, ready for in the morning. ♥
Now awaiting the evening carer to arrive; confident that I can take the Warfarin tonight without worrying about it. Great!
I planned the evening meal. Potato Rostis, garden peas and bacon lardies… no, I’d better not. The Caramelised mini pork pies have a lot shorter date on them. So I’d better have them first. Did you note that? I remembered something… Ahem, it’s nothing, I remembered something in… I forget when now.

It’s nice and peaceful now the maintenance lads have gone home.

Caramelised Pies (just gone up by 25p at Asda) – Garden peas with added basil – Wholemeal (just gone up by 40p at Asda), baps – Tomatoes – & Tasty (just gone up by 40p at Asda), Potato Rostis.
Flavour Rating: 7/10.

At this time, I got my head down…
Still confused and with a frown…
Forgot to put on my dressing gown…
Got up 4 times – for the Porcelain Throne!
Stubbed my toe, the nail that’s ingrown,
Hello, the Throne again; well, I’ll be blown!
Diarhorrea style, stinking pheromone…
The catheter straps were all strewn…

Made a brew & photo’d the moon!

03:15hrs: Rose took off the night catheter.

Took a shot of the moon as it disappeared through a gap in the clouds, not to be seen again today. Not by me, anyway.

Coughing a bit this morning, wit the odd sneeze – by gum; it hurts the ribs when I do, either.
The mystery chest and back pains were a permanent fixture. This constant pain is wearing me down.
Computer.
Arrived at 07:15ish. Sorted the fridge out and got rid of so many out-of-date products that I could not read (Cataract). Medications. Checked catheter.

As you can see here on the left, the fridge is a little on the scarce side foodwise, and Richard removed several more after taking this photo. One item was sell by 2019!

Back rib pains are persistent, to say the least.

09:15hrs: All hell broke loose!

Well, not really, but it sounded dramatic, dunnit?
The men working on the lifts. Burst out half an hour of repeated bangs, knocks and then some drilling. Got to be done.

So, now I’ve got the mystery pains full time, worse when I stretch or bend. Intermittently trying to pull the shoulder apart. Little Inchie is very sore, being drawn about each time I move with the catheter in for another five days at least; Richard said.
Struggling to see correctly, the cataracted, Glaucoma, and Saccades affected
eyes and ears for hearing (that’s what they made for, you know… Hehehe)..

The Noise Is Worse Than Ever Now!

Esther came, said she’d help with ringing the Doctor to tell her she has sent me back to who told me to ring her for the details of the Warfarin. She said, “Ring Nottingham City Hospital Urology! ”

I’ve tried ringing the DVT clinic and was refused to put through to the Warfarin Clinic by the operator. She also said, “Ring Nottingham City Hospital Urology!”

She rang PALS. Who said, “Ring Nottingham City Hospital Urology!”

Smashing! Lardons, canned tomatoes with added basil and tomato passata. Wholemeal cobs, and a strawberry whatsit… What is it called? Another mind blank… Come on, Inchie! Strawberry… erm… shortcake. No, that’s
not right. Anyway, it has jam, mock cream and crumbs at the bottom. But I’ll get the name yet. I did too, but not until the morning. Taste-Rating: 9.2/10!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

06:00hrs: Woke up to find myself shuddering, flapping, and threshing about in the c1966. charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, not working, crumb-covered from the nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, virus breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, recliner! Boy, that must have been some dream or nightmare I was having! I can’t recall a single thing about it, mind you.
I soon realised that the evening catheter pouch was in need of emptying.

So, I rose precariously (balance not so good) and emptied it.

Off to the kitchen. lovely view out there this morning. But the wind, when I opened the window, made me glad to be indoors.

I  abandoned plans for making a brew and went off to the wet room to get the ablutions sorted. I don’t think I got any cuts at all shaving.
However, when it came to cleaning my rotund, flabby-bellied wobbly, stomached body, I did hit problems. As expected: Cleaning around the inserted tube of the catheter protruding from Little Inchie… I don’t think I need to say this, but… the Fungal Lesion started bleeding! This necessitated the Daktacort ointmentationing to be done. After just a few oohs, argh’s and more fruitful words of agony, I got it finished. No bother to me, of course. With my gigantic pain-tolerance level.  I stopped crying and moved on to other areas in need of similar treatment. and then got some of the eyes drops in roughly the area of the right eye. (But not a lot).

Then, the big challenge – Getting dressed. With the right arm still painful when I stretch or bend, the Mystery Sharp Stabbing Pains in the rib cage, right-hand side, and now at the back as well, of the torso, his usual warning signs of an imminent due, leaving me virtually one handed to get the clothes – which is not easy using a picker-upperer as the same time!
But I made a fine job of it. I put a plaster on the cut finger, laughed off banging my knee on the floor cabinet corner when I lost my balance and applied some Germolene on the bruised head.

Arrived as I was making the much-belated brew. (It went cold). Issued the medications, and he laughed when he said: “Now drop ’em!” Hehehe! Put my socks on for me. Fitted the replacement weekly Catheter pouch. We had a natter, and bade him farwell.
I visited the , messy again, and almost black in colour this time – from the Karki of yesterday?
On the computer, Norton did a scan. Answered the mass of comments that had come in on WordPress… well, one.

There I was, sat, sitting at the computer and I realised that my right foot was warm and wet!
Yes, the pouch had been running the wee straight through, down my leg and into the slipper!
I dropped the trousers and got the bowl to stand my right foot in to catch the urine, which of course, I could not stop the flow!
I threw the sock in as well; that’s not going to be used again! As the bowl started to fill up, I rang Meridian to ask for help. Tina said she’d “Pop up to see you (me) later!
Both trouser legs had been soaked, and my socks and slippers – all of them had to be thrown away.
Not having a lot of luck here, am I?

Oh, What a Calamity!

Arrived shortly after. Got it sorted for me. A different style of open-closure thingamabob fooled us, a press-through instead of a tap on the new pouch. Hah, well. Shame about the slippers, socks and trews having to be dished. But not as bad as it might have been, because some new slippers are being delivered this very day! Via Amazon.

Warfarin, DVT nurse Hristina ♥ arrived, and I explained about my being told to consult the Doctor about my leaving off the Warfarin before the Cystoscopy Procedure.
Hristina rang the surgery, explained everything, and they said they’d ring me back later on. Great!

The Sherington Park Surgery rang.
Told me I had to ring the hospital to find out about the Warfarin. This is the hospital that tells me to ring the Doctor?
Farcical doesn’t come into it!

Came. Telling him about the problem with the Warfarin and thought I’d better ring the DVT Clinic, as they control the Warfarin and arrange for the blood tests to be calculated. I got what I thought was the telephone number for the DVT clinic from the web, but it turned out to be the Queen’s Medical Switchboard.
She would not put me through and told me to ring the Urology at the Nottingham City Hospital – This is the hospital that tells me to ring the Doctor?
Ty took over the phone and got the number of the Urology at the Nottingham City Hospital. He’ll ring them tomorrow, but he is too busy at the moment to do it. Ty brought in the laundry and deposited the bag in the front room for me. Checked taps. But did not watch me taking the tablets… I thought I may have kist in through the missing teeth, but we could not see any under the cupboard. Off he went, saying he’d see me later.

So, more hours lost getting nowhere! I’m so frustrated and am still unsure of what to do about the Warfarin dosages.

Finally got the Monday blog completed and made a start on this one.

I got the laundry hung up and put it away. But the stretching and bending brought back the calmed down stabbing pains again. I’m not happy with these mystery pains! U just hope they are connected to urology problems and not something new ailment-wise. I’ll give you an idea of them… ARGH!

I could do no more now. Uncomfortable with the pains, tired out. Pathetically mega-depressed and irredeemably frustrated! Sorry for myself, I suppose? Let’s face it, nothing much is going right for me, is it?

Repeated catheter bag emptying.

I’ll get something to eat, methinks. No bread, no butter. A few chips, gravy, Ah, well, that’ll do.

Took a snap from the kitchenette window, showing my spare 3-wheeler walker on the balcony.
Also, the gravel path I used to be able to get up on my walks through the tree copse. So sadly missed.

My bread and butterless meal was thoroughly enjoyed.
I forgot to photograph it, so took one of the empty bowl after the food was demolished. Hahaha!

Woken around 2125hrs, as arrived. I was still half-asleep. Richard got the night bag attached to the day bag and the pouch in the grey bowl. I’m sure we had a chat about something – likely me moaning about not being able to find out about the Warfarin leaving off… Yes, I think it might have been.

Evening All!

06:25hrs: I woke up with a shudder and judder and immediately got stinging pains in the knee from the catheter.
I investigate the cause. I’m like that, you know, curious. Haha!
I found the top holding strap had somehow gotten twisted; that was what caused the soreness. I’m like lightning, ain’t I? Hehe!
Also, the bottom holding strap had come loose, and without thinking (I do a lot of that, as well!). I bent down to adjust the lower strap… A mistake that was! The pin from the mystery pain that has moved from the stomach to the back of the ribcage kicked off, and it’s not flipping well stopped yet! (19:00hrs) But of course, I’m used to pain now, and being the heroic, brave, manly person that I am, laughed it off!

I used the picker-upperer to get the night pouch from the bucket. Well, not much wee-wee went in there last night?.
However, a cheery sign was the colour of the urine, not a sign of any blood or sediment as with yesterday morning.

2: As I rose from the c1966. charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, not working, crumb-covered from the nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, virus breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, recliner, I was soon back on the bum, testing the durability of as I pummelled back onto the recliner.
3: An burst into life, giving me a good buffeting, belting the right elbow on the arm of the chair. 4: knocking off a bottle of spring water from the Ottoman… 5: Which landed in the safety bucket, bursting open the night bag! I’ve had a better starts to the day!

I painfully detached the night bag without any mishaps. (I can’t claim that very often!) And off to the wet room… gingerly: I had the bowl with the wet wee and bags in, and Metal Mickey (The three-pronged walking stick), And voiced a prayer en route that an would not start again on the way.
6: I learnt on the way that the mystery stabbing pains had now reached the back of the ribcage. And using the right hand to hold onto Mickey made them worse… or brought them on because when I got in the wet room to clean the bowl and wrap up the night bag for disposal, the pains stopped when I put the stick down. Is it any wonder that I get so confused?

The need for the arose. Most conveniently, for once, as I was about a foot away from the Throne at the time. I anticipated another messy, gooey, sticky, clingy evacuation, as it has been for the last four days – but no! Good heavens, I’m having a mixture of good and bad luck now! I barely needed the toilet paper. I thought, clearly, my luck was changing for the better here. .

From this stage, my concentration and memory cells withered as I was doing the ablutions. Vast periods of time when if I did not make notes or take photos as a prompter – dissolved into the ether… never to be retrieved. I was doing so well on blog writing, I thought, but going to the wet room terminated any and all traces of my previous smug-Mode

Amidst the unreadable parts of the notes, there are repeated mentions of the mystery pains. Seemed they were bad all day. At this moment, many hours later, and much missed events too; nearly 20:00hrs; the mystery pains slowed down a lot, and my concentration returned… too late to save the quality & humour I think I put into at the start of the blog. I’ll run through the readable parts on the notepad’s pages and use photos that I’ve taken. During the day, Carers Sam and I think Kara called for the first two visits. Words I  picked out tell me they were both pleasant, helpful visits

Carer Ty did the next two visits.
I took this photo, for some reason, of the box of Cefalexin Antibiotic. Out of interest, I looked up the side effects.

Abdominal or stomach pain.
❷ Clay-colored stools.
❸ Itching or rash.
❹ Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin. ❺ General tiredness and weakness. ❻ Nausea and vomiting. ❼ Red skin lesions, often with a purple centre.
❽ Other Medical Problems: The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of this medicine. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially: On Warfarin or Clopidogrel: Check with Doctor before taking it. Colitis (inflammation in the gut), history of or Diarrhorea, severe, history of, or Seizures, history of—Use with caution. This may make these conditions worse. Kidney disease or Liver disease—Use with caution. The effects may be increased because of the slower removal of the medicine from the body.
Compared to some of the medications I’m on, this one sounds safe. Well, apart from the Warfarin… I must ask a Carer on Monday to check with the Doctor for me. I know I’ve going to see her on Friday, but from her surgery, I am going to the City Hospital afterwards for the Systopcopy Procedure. So I need to know in time if I should stop the Warfarin taking as recommended.

Ah, my Angel Hristina ♥ from the DVT Warfarin clinic is coming for my blood on Tuesday; I could ask her?

I must have taken a shot of the rain sometime today. It looks like in the morning, mayhap?

Helped me with checking the Catheter bags. We had a nice natter for a short time. I think I was out of it when she arrived. According to the guessed-at wording on the notepad, I was not sure what I was doing in the wetroom when she arrived? I think!

Apparently, it took me two hours to get the ablutioning done. Getting trews and PPs on and off was harder than usual. (Not me talking, it’s on the pad) Haha!

Arrived, again, the memory and unreadable scrawl prevents any details.
Next on the written list: Blog Yest has done. Emminmer?, then Pinterested
.
Carer Ty: Don’t think I enjoyed this visit. Tabs wrong… attitude?
Blogging, and wandering mind.
Carer Ty.
Tried to clean the kitchen. Has to stop. Although the mystery pains were getting less often, they always started when I bent down or rich (I assume that should have been stretch?)

Night bag farce.

Nosh. Feeling more with it now; no Ty coming again, bully. Oh, yes, he’s on the late check call, and in the morning… Humph!

Decent nosh.

Dreading the Carers visit in the morning.

Sorry, but I ran out of time today. Photos mainly. Lots of hospital letters and appointments arrived; Carer came to do the medications and catheter but didn’t know how to do it. Still not done yet. I’ve emptied the day bag twice, but essential I have the night fitted, or else I’ll have to stay up all night again!
Not many comments, just what I could recall, but rushed it, not having had a meal yet with all the trying to sort out the needs and what, what with the Cystoscopy. Got to talk to the Doctor cause they said so, about stopping the warfarin?. in one of the many leaflets, maps and letters of advice they sent – that I can’t read them cause of cataracts. Pretty fed up as well; I know the pain of having a tube down Little Inchie into the bladder – Monday and Tuesday, I must have had the tube in and out five or six times. Anaesthetic is not to be used, and what going to go in this time seems about six times thicker. Plus, they may have to go back in and take samples from within the bladder. How much bigger will that tool be? I was at the limit of my pain acceptance Mon & Tue…
Sorry.
From yesterday.

0500 this morning.
Below after Carer emptied and removed the night bag, about three hours later it looked like this!
No idea what happened!

Morning kitchen window shots

HEALTH CHECKS

Emptied the Cataracts and…
To self: No, you didn’t, you idiot!
“I meant to write Catheter!” – Pratt!
Found that Little Inchie had been bleeding

Confused now, after reading what I could of the instructions, advice, and procedure I’ve to go through without painkillers. Not that it bothered me, a naturally brave, hardy man like me!

Early evening

I’ll say no more on this… (Flinching now!)

♫ FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD ♫
Potatoes, smoked mackerel, garden peas.
Wiv a naughty vegan strawberry dessert.

HIS THIRD CALL OF THE DAY.
He’s checked up on the web on how to change
(fit)
a Night Catheter bag. And with a smidgeon of luck,
got it on and working. Gave me the Peptac medicine

and two Paracetamol. We had a short natter,

and he took the waste with him to the chute.

TTFN All!
♥ Have a Great New Year! ♥

NOTTINGHAM COVID LATEST

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

CUT SHORT: MEDICAL MATTERS – FULL TALE TO FOLLOW

04:20hrs: Trouble ‘t Mill again, straight away. was bleeding during the night. The inserted tube pulls whenever I move, stretch or bend, I imagine. The new ailments just keep coming!
Didn’t bother me, of course.
Off to empty the catheter bag. The last day
of the week is today for to call. He took the night bag off and routed the wee-wee to the day bag for me when he came.  The man’s been a comfort, laugh and God-Send during the recent medical problems. When he arrived, Richard soon got the bags swapped and adjusted the strapping. We had a natter and laugh after he gave me the medications and pulled my leg a bit. Not literally, Hehe!

I got a phone call from the Nottingham City Hospital Urology Department. By good fortune, the lady spoke slowly after I said I was hard of hearing, and I just asked her to repeat the time and date of the appointment they’d made for me.
It’s for Friday, 6th January 2023. At 11:20hrs, and was very patient while I checked the calendar to check what time my Doctors appointment on the same day was. It was okay; the doctor was at 08:30hrs. Thanked her doer being patient with me.
Of course, I went into panic-mode-Grade-three. Now I have to try to sort a lift out for both appointments… not too bad a situation with the timing, mind you. If I can get and lift, I can get the Doctor and book a pickup for an hour later, I don’t mind waiting if I get seen too early… Hahaha! the things I come out with!
Then go straight to the hospital; in time. I hope!

Then the trying to book with Easy-Link problems came to the fore.
Over the next three hours, I tried to get through to Meridian six times and Easy-Link five times. No luck!

Blogging

Arrived. Another Saviour! ♥
Emptying the Day Catheter bag.
Getting through to and booking lifts not only for the 6th January, doctor’s and but the 9th February at the .
Checking & emptying the day bag. During which, if had not been there, I’d have taken a tumble backward onto the deck! She caught me in time.

Thank You, Lisa!

Just spotted these two evening shots from yesterday’s evening view.

After 5 days of going Porcelain Throne usage-free – things started moving. Not-half!
❶ 13:50hrs: First visit. Messy, but not a lot of it.
❷ 16:00hrs: Gooey, sticky, light khaki. Stinking more.
❸ 17:05hrs: Four dollops of giant meatball shaped evacuated. Darker khaki.
❹ 1840hrs: A large selection of dark brown giant worms.
❺ 20:44hrs: Sloppy mess, very light-coloured, little smell, though.
Well, a right mixture there. I’m hoping that when the late call comes and the night catheter is fitted, I don’t get any more summoning to the .

Arrived. Got the medicines sorted. Little chin-wag shared.

At long last, a good stand-up wash and shave with my feet soaking in the bowl with Dettol.
Three cuts shaving, dropped razors, shaving cream, flannel, toothbrush, carbolic soap, nailbrush… and possibly a few other things. Knocked stuff off of the floor cabinet – twice! Nearly took a tumble again. And gave the wet room door a shoulder charge on leaving.

Found this morning’s car park photo; making a mess chronologically, aren’t I?

Arrived and made me a mug of tea; bless her ♥. Gave me the Peptac and washed the plastic pot for me. And she saved me from another tumble: I think I mentioned that earlier.

Got on with blogging. Then answered some WordPress comments.

Got a meal cooking, Cottage Pie and seasoned sliced mushroom.

Took this photo as I put the food into the oven.

Making a bas job timewise.

More photographs from this mid-morning.

Must go now and get the nosh served up.

Back in a bit.

I hope this is going to be fun...

Walking stick, evening wee-p[ouch to carry, a meal to make…

And then getting it back into the front room to eat…

Wish me luck.

I’m not too confident about this, not being an Accifauxpa-free exercise.

Signing off now.

Wish me luck.

I’ll try to get back on tomorrow.

But how things are, I’m not sure.

TTFN.
