02:35hrs: I woketh up, in need of the Porcelain Throne. Ah, back to normal at last again! This entailed, of course, the immediate removal of my over-carrion carrying cadaver, from the £300, second-hand, hideous beige-coloured, c1968, sometimes-working rickety, recliner. (The one that my xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward. And he fitted new CCTC cameras, he erected a drone-landing platform outside and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet seven-months later) And off to the wet room.

Which went exceptionally well, considering the right Neurotransmitter-failing affected right side and leg, was showing signs of its desire to do a mock-imitation of a Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance routine. As I hobbled jerkily into the hallway, the thoughts of what I must look like if I was on camera, forced a smile to my lips!

WDPH01LWD 51.51.153 b The little skips I had to occasionally incorporate into my so-called ambulatory actions, to avoid banging into the four-pronged walking stick and tripping myself over, really was hilarious. Even when as I left the room, and a little kick-out knocked the corner display, stubbed the toe, and sent stuff tumbling to the floor – but the need for the Throne, left no time for checking on things!

WDP 12dI got into the room and whipped down the jammies and PPs, again, so timely, well, just in time! I’m getting good at this! It was another of those unbelievably nervous-making, worrying ‘Will the system cope with it?’ moments. Not to mention the ‘Where’s it all coming from?’, question. Oh, I’ve said it now! Haha! And, there was no bleeding from Harold’s Haemorrhoids, or Little Inchies fungal lesion, either! Another satisfying smile sneaked onto my mush!

Finally, I got washed up and into the kitchen. Where I put the kettle on, then sorted the handwashing onto the airers. Then I remembered the posology nurse not arriving for her or his appointment this week. Of course, these things are always recalled at the weekend when nothing can be done the issue, and it gives me time to forget all about it again. Tsk!

6Sat03I went to check on things at the front door, something told me to, the EQ I suppose. I found a begging circular that was for the previous tenant Margaret, and a leaflet; ‘Do you want to be alone on Christmas Day?’ Well, I worked for 20 years alone on Christmas Day, well, night, in Security. Now I’ve spent the last eight years worth of Christmas Days on my own, not seeing a soul. So, I’m well used to it by now. Nice thought though, thanks to the ‘Festive Loneliness is Real’ team. As for getting to Bestwood to collect a free meal, with no buses running, I could walk it in about two/three hours, I suppose; if I did need a festive meal? Getting it back home with it would be a little speculative. Hehehe!

The usual droning, whining noise all around was more annoying than ever. There was even a few early morning bangs, clangs and knocks, I hope everyone is alright. I feared that I was making some noise, that had prompted retaliation. But I couldn’t think of any sound I’d made.

6Sat02aI made another brew, and took the medications to the computer desk, and started it up. (The computer, not the counter!)

WDPG02RWD 51.51.153 b Then as I was about to start on downloading the photos from yesterday, the Tinnitus kicked-off. Moments later, the saccadic eye movements began, making concentration terribly tricky. The morning’s combination of the surrounding humming-droning, with the tinnitus joining in, and now, the eyes jumping all over the place, made working on the lactarium all but impossible! These seem to have brought on my abulia. Things were going downhill suddenly. At least the myasthenia gravis is not so bad, so it isn’t all doom and gloom. At least I can type betterer than earlier on. I thought about doing an Ode about the Ailments? It might cheer me up doing a funny one. Yes, after getting the blog done, I’ll see if I can come up with some inspiration going. Haha!

I got the Friday post finished and posted off. Then went on the TFZer Facebooking. Next, the WordPress Reader.

Then made a tentative start to this post. Later on to the ‘Ode to my Ailments’ poem.

Got the funny ode finished and posted off. But with the graphics added, it took me about four hours to get done! Ah, well, it should come over as funnyish.

Time to consider what to eat now. Off to the kitchen and had a nosey around in the fridge and freezer. Selected the noshing requirement, none requiring any cooking, but a fair amount of preparation all the same.

Before I made a start, I took some photographs from the unwanted light & view-blocking window, hoping to catch the glumness and drizzle on view.

WD 51.51.153 b I forgot to make notes of which shooting mode I took them in, the same aspect on each one, but all in different settings. Tsk!

6Sat17I buttered some milk roll bread and got the cooked beef off-cuts. Beetroot, pork pie, tomatoes, apple and mini swiss rolls on the tray. Ensconced myself in the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. The one that bullying xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward. He fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took. (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later)

Then, I and put the Taken Two DVD on to watch while eating the feast. A decent effort, getting a taste-rating of 7/10 overall.

The regular nodding-off and waking soon started. More frequently than usual tonight. Every time I woke up, someone was being tortured, bleeding profusely or having eight-bells of crap knocked out of them! I gave up watching and switched to the TV. Nightmare Kitchens were on. But they were the same episodes as last night! But, this eventually helped me get to sleep.

Where I stayed, nocturnal-nibbling and wee-wee free, for a good five hours! Nice!

An Ode to My Ailments

Barry Bladder & Hernia Harry

6Sat07

I went in the QMC for a Hernia operation,

Summat else came to the surgeons attention,

He said he’s found cancer in the bladder,

But not to worry, he said as we had a natter,

He’d lasered both problems with antimatter!

But I suffered later, Harry returned, it’s mind over matter!

6Sat05a

Duodenal Donald

The problem was soon outright,

Although it was a bit of a fight,

The surgeons said it’d be risky and tight,

But things should come out alright,

But couldn’t stop the bleeding, that was a fright!

They did stop it finally, to my delight!

6Sat08

Haemorrhoid Harry

I have to say, this left me feeling sore,

But surely it will mean, Haemorrhoid cream no more?

No suppositories, prodding, probing, Cor!

But they returned, worse than before!

6Sat05

Aorta Albert

A bit of a shock, when I saw the Doc,

She said you’re a chip off the old block,

Your Dad had such an op, a bit of a shock,

Makes a change from operating on your buttock,

But you’ll pull through me old cock!

6Sat03

Sandie Seer

Twitching eyes, jump and jerk,

But when steady, they still work,

Though not a regular querk,

It can drive you berserk!

6Sat03a

Nerveless Nigel

Diagnosed two weeks before the stroke,

By Dr Rahannmuta, a wonderful bloke,

Not averse to a laugh and joke,

Although I don’t, he said you must not smoke!

And gave me a year, before the nerve-ends die, get broke.

6Sat09

Suzie

Worra shock, I was in a terrible mess,

Couldn’t wash, shave or even dress,

Two months hospitalisation, no less,

Why I ask, but it remains answerless,

The After-Stroke Physio leaves me breathless,

But certainly not painless!

There are periods when I feel brainless,

But some helpers have been invaluable, God Bless!

6Sat10

SSVB

(ScabsSpotsVeinsBulges)

Caught this in the Stroke hospital ward, one can’t forget,

Blood-papsules, weals, scars, lumps, bulges, a guaranteed bet,

Welts, contusions, blemishes, dapples, maculations, invariably on the legs set,

Thrombophlebitis and assorted Clopidogrel grooves and ridges show,

The legs appearance change every day, a new vein or burrow,

A reaction to a changed medication, they say to me,

Vasculitis and venous thromboembolism or VTE,

What next, can I charge folks to look, Hehehe!

Right-hand side sensory nerves are almost kaput,

The neurotransmitters, nearly as dead as a mutt,

I’m even getting boils and growths on my butt!

6Sat11

Myasthenia Gravis (MG) – The latest ailment.

This was written, to cheer missen up, and it did!

WD 150.0.100 01:05hrs: As I stirred into a pretend life, the mind was starting to go off on one of its fear-storms; Luckily the need for a Porcelain Throne visit saved the day, and the brain was diverted to the urgent need of getting out of the £300, second-hand, c1968, rickety recliner! This morning, my freeing of the gargantuanly-flobby body and onto the feet, was probably on a par with sorting out Brexit! I’ll not go into the embarrassing reasons, but it took me the best part of half-an-hour to get to the wet room – by which time I was too late!

The session was messy, the wee-weeing took an age to stop, Little Ichies fungal lesion needed attention, and the sanitising and medicationalisationing afterwards, has never taken more time to get done! I managed, although my spirits were low now, with the discomfiture, self-consciousness and mortification of what had just happened! Guilt and shame were in there somewhere too!

I took the medications, made a brew, and got on with updating the Thursday blog. At least the myasthenia gravis was a lot easier than yesterday, so even with so many photographs to sort and get in it, it took me far less time today. I seemed to resist my iracundulous thoughts and actions today, and this was a good thing. (I hope I’ve used the right word?)

5Fri01I went to make another brew and took three photos out of the new, mostly unwanted, unliked, thick-famed, light & View blocking kitchen window. I took each one in different settings: Night Landscape, Aperture Priority and Landscape.

I then got on with Pinterest posting, and on to TFZer Facebooking. After which, I went on the WordPress Reader section.

Ablution time, so off to the wet room – which was another bit of unexpected good-luck for me. Within seconds of stripping off, the Porcelain Throne needed attending! Talk about miraculous timing! This concerned me, with my plans to get out shopping in Arnold for some bread, milk and another thing on the list, which I can’t recall at the moment. I hope nothing untoward happens in the rear-end-exiting stakes while I’m out!

I made up and took five small bags to the waste chute, then returned to the flat, and went through the double-checking routines. Seeking substantiation, validation, verification and confirmation that I had not left something on or off, that shouldn’t be. Lights, taps (faucets), doors etc., and not entirely convinced that I had, (and in a dilemma, positivity and confidence never having been my forte for many years now) I garbed up warmly and departed. I met Malcolm on the way down.

WD 150.0.100 I visited Mary’s flat on the way, I’d not seen her for a while. Just to see if she’s alright. But she was not in, so she might well be at the bus stop?

Met the lady, whose name escapes me, I can never remember. Tsk! As I got out of the lift. A natter and the nibbles came out.

I called at the ILC’s (Independent Living Coordinator’s) holding and interrogation office, where I handed a worried-harrassed-looking stern-faced Catwalk Model and Scharfhureress Warden Julie and handed her a nibble. The EQ told me to get out of her way, (I’m no hero!) into the big Winwood Social Room.

WD 150.0.100 I sat in a high chair for a while, musing, stewing about life. Which did me no good at all, everything, (and a lot did fleet-through the mind), that went through the brain-box was of a negative nature I’m afraid. Perspicacious, logical, commonsensical, reasoned, coherent or even insightful ponderations, they were not.

5Fri02I pulled myself away from the gloomy thoughts and poddled out to the bus stop. Aha! There was Mary, with Penny, Dot and Malcolm. I joined with a “Good morning, each!”, and handed out the nibbles. I enjoyed listening to Malcolm’s entertaining well-presented story of his visit to a theme park with the Grandkids, and the general moaning, laughing and 5Fri003grumps. Hehehe! Penny looked twinkling eyed. Mary was in good form and well.

The L9 arrived for Bestwood, and by then Cindy, Chrissie, Welsh William, Dot, Bill (William on Sundays), and others had joined us. I got on and in the corner Side-saddle seat, and snuggled in the drop board – for I had recognised the driver, and anticipated my having a battle not to be dislodged from the saddle at every corner the bus took. And so it was to be. Hehe! I did try doing the crosswords, but it was too dangerous, with having to cling on the bus furniture and hold the trolley from rolling away, despite the brakes being applied.

WDPright03WD 150.0.100 I dropped off of the bus in Arnold Front Street and had one of the worst Dizzy Dennis attacks ever. I was genuinely concerned and leant against some pedestrian crossing railings for a while. Everything around me felt like a dream, and not connected with me? As people walked by me, they almost looked like ghosts! This amazingly didn’t last long, and within ten minutes or so, I felt confident enough, to gingerly venture over the crossing to the other side of the road, towards the Fulton Food store. By the time I reached the store, everything was back to reality, and no signs of the dizzies? I can’t deny being concerned so, that I thought for a moment “Hello, this is it!”, but not so.

I was soon in my element, shopping, and finding things that I did not need or want. Dropping items, not being able to reach some. And having to struggle to get the three-wheeler around the place. I ended up getting some bargains, though. Roast turkey slices for £1, Pork Farms Pork Pies, and Beef trimmings each at £1, and two bottles of Sterilised milk.

WDP11LWD 150.0.100 Paid the lady, and made my way to the High Road bus stop. The timing worked well, I had ten minutes before the bus was due and only had to walk up the Asda (Walmart) alleyway to the top to the bus shelter. As I was reaching the top near the car park, the L9 bus belted passed! It was five-minutes early! That’s if my charity-shop bought £2 wristwatch with its £10 replacement strap, was right of course! Grumph & Grobbleclogs! Grr!

WDP 08L025Fri004So, I went back down the alleyway and went into the Asda (Walmart) store. To have a meander around while waiting for the next bus, from Front Street, that will take me back to the Mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court, that lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the spacetime continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination!

5Fri005It was a struggle to get around with so many customers, it is a Friday, so I suppose I should have expected it. I ended up at the self-serve-tills with, beetroot, fresh vine tomatoes, Milk Roll loaf, Sliced Wholemeal cobs, Potato cakes, and some mini swiss rolls. I paid-up, bagged the goods, and out to the bus stop on Front Street.

Passing near where I had the Dizzy Dennis spell earlier, made the goose-bumps come up. But I didn’t have any more of them.

When the bus got to Sherwood, it picked up some of my Windwood Heights fellow-tenants. My being st in the side-saddle seat, I greeted each one as they got on the bus. One even acknowledged me. By the time I got off the bus, last as is usual, and assisted down to the pavement by a Winchesteronian waiting to get on (Thank you, Sir!), all the others from the bus had disappeared inside Winchester Court. (Gawd, they’re quick! Hehehe!)

I went in and through the link passage to the big social room, and passed the Winwood Lobby, through the next link-passage into a cold, gloomy Woodthorpe Court lift lobby. Up in the elevator and into the flat, no wee-wee or Porcelain Throne visits needed, now that is a rarity!

5Fri006I got the kettle on, then unloaded the Asda (Walmart) and Fulton Foods. Realising I had forgotten to get the toilet cistern cleaner blocks. Well, fancy that, me, forgetting something! Haha!

I decided , after considerable ponderisationing, on having frankfurters, gammon steaks, tomatoes, beetroot, apple and mini swiss rolls for my nosh.

WDPrightWD 150.0.100 But decided to get the handwashing done first. And worra mess I made doing it! During the rinsing-out stage, as I was emptying the bowl, the bloody Sensory nerves went on the blink, and I ended up dropping the bowl, with water over the sink and draining board, me and the floor! As luck would have it, I’d stripped off beforehand, ready to get the sleeping-gear on. So drying me was no problem at least. The floor was more of a struggle. No ululations, mind. I was almost pleased that my run of unnatural good luck had ended, and I was back in the real world.

I got the jammie-bottoms and the dressing gown that is too small for me, on. Finished the washing, freshening, wringing and hanging up to dry the shirt and socks.

5Fri007WDP11LThen got the meal served up, settled in the £300 second-hand recliner, and began the unfortunately very unpleasant task of eating the plate of evening fodder. Although it did look good, a few ingredients let me down tastewise and by my bad cooking! The gammon steaks were not my cup of tea at all, far too sweet! The worst of my errors was cooking the potato cakes with the gammon, the sweet fat soaked into the cakes, and they were uneatably sweet, too! Eurgh! The tomatoes were so tasteless! The frank’s, apple, beetroot and mini rolls were all fine. I had a couple of the wholemeal cobs as well. Flavour-Rating: 3/10.

5Fri08I put another old DVD on to watch. Liam Neeson in ‘Taken’. I thought that a goodie-winning film might cheer me up a bit. I tried several times to take a picture of the box, but the nerve-ends were still playing up, and this was the best of the five efforts I tried, and not a good one. Huh!

I started to watch the film, drifted off to sleep, woke, rewound it and watched again… repeatedly! So I gave up after about an hour, and having only watched approximately ten-minutes worth of it! Ah, well!

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 20th November 2019: Not a lot went right today! Frustrating!

Wednesday 20th November 2019

0Nov 20

23:50hrs: I woke in a confuses state of mind. Fair enough, I needn’t have written this, due to more often than not I do wake up muddle-brained. But this morning was an exceptionally disordered, unconnected, rambling, uncoordinated mishmash than usual. Attaining a level of logicalness, took me a few minutes, and then it was only partial! Fears, worries, and a nagging certainty that I had forgotten something important, or instead failed to remember. If it was not for the sudden urgent need of a wee-wee, I might still be laying there determined to find out what I had forgotten… I think.

WDP14aLWD 125.0.0 Anyroad, I soon had something else to fret over. I escaped the warming clutches of the £300, second-hand, c1968, rickety recliner, grabbed the stick, swore silently at Arthur Itis’s knees, and limped ASAP to the wet room. I felt the blood on my fingers as I prepared things, so stood for the session above the porcelain bowl, trying to limit the spray. The wee-wee was blood-free (Phew!), but a few drips from the fungal lesion kept my attention. Only an RBPDD (Reluctant-But-Painless-Drip-Drip) mode.  Most of the time was spent painfully applying the Clotisol cream and cleaning things up afterwards. The reluctance of the flow to stop for such a long time caught me by surprise, considering that the Warfarin INR level was down to 1.6 on Monday. Still, not to fret anymore, I got it plugged at last. And luckily this Whoopsie had caused me to forget about the earlier mind-blast, so that worked out well!

WDP 11gLWD 150.0.0a That was until I started to exit the wet room. I managed without any bother to give the toe a really first-class, toe-stubbing against the metal leg of the shower chair! I stemmed the natural verbal outburst, worrying about the neighbours and any noise. I made do with (I thought at the time) a heroically restrained, stifled, low-muffled sort of ‘Eragherruffhooagh!’ Hehehe! Then getting in a position to put Phorpain Gel on the toe, kicked Arthur Itis’s pain up to Defcon Two level. Grumph! And to think, a while ago all I was concerned with was the complexed brain-storm. It doesn’t matter so much now! Although the confusion in the head lingers on now. Tsk!

Off to the kitchen, got the kettle on, took the medications and made the tea, Glengettie. I was aware that I had not needed a Porcelain Throne session yet, which was something out of the ordinary for late. But, up to now, this morning has been a different one than usual.

3Wed001

Neither arrived!

I got to the computer and checked the Google Calendar first. Two health visitors today. I think they may be about the same issue, but I’m not certain. The Warfarin INR being so low might interest the Anticoagulation Haemostasis Deep vein Arterial Thrombosis Clinic. And the Medicine Team nurse cold be about the same, or maybe the not being able to recognise the water-tablets in the blister packs, and are only taken when needed, so I might well be throwing away the bisoprolol (also called Cardicor or Emcor) beta-blocker in mistake? Ah well, I’ll soon find out.

I started the updating of the Tuesday blog, a mammoth job with all that went on and the many photographs to sort out. But, I got it done and posted off in the end. I started sneezing during the process, and have not stopped since.

Eight hours since getting up, and still, I have not had the call to the Porcelain Throne!

I went on the WordPress Reader, and put some pictures on Pinterest.

Time is flying by, I’d better get the ablutions done, so as to be ready in case any medics arrive early.

Marvellous session. Only three dropsies, one cut shaving, and all done quickish. I got the pressies and box of recyclables, dropped them off on the way down. Doris held the door open for me. Got to the Obergruppenfureress Wardens holding cell, saw Deana and back up to the flat. Got the computer back on and did some photographicalising of oneself (I know, but I’m bravish!) Trimmed them to use as Whopppsiedangleplop support.

The intercom went, and a medical worker was admitted, but she did not arrive at the flat. I went down to the foyer, but saw no one anywhere? Then returned to the flat and waited. No signs of her. I thought she might be seeing someone else first, but it is the tie she said she’d arrive. Another

I have still not had the call to the Porcelain Throne? Another of the Mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination!

While I was waiting, I kept hearing noises, like things falling over, and rattles, I could not tell where they were coming from. Then the hearing aids batteries ‘bleeped’ as they both ran out of power. I got some replacement batteries in them. Still no signs of the prescription medical lady? Oh dear!

I made a start on graphics for the templates for the blogs.

Ah, off to the Porcelain Throne! By-golly that was a monster session again, but no pain and no bleeding!

WDPT03LWD 125.0.0 I am now stuck indoors. Because the lady who rang to be let in has not appeared and the Anticoagulation Haemostasis Deep vein Arterial Thrombosis Clinic member has not arrived either! I dare no go out in case they do arrive. So, I decided on a marathon session of graphicalisationing. Then, if one or both does come, I’ll be here ready!

3Wed01eWDPT05LWD 125.0.0 After a long session that took me hours and well beyond my usual head-down time, Arthur Itis’s knees didn’t like me getting up, and I had a close to toppling over moment. (Tsk!) I went to make a much-needed mug of Thompson’s tea, got the medications out and ready, and had a wee-wee, of a DAAOJ: Drip-And-All-Over-Job! The sink hot tap is now leaking – I’m fed-up!

3Wed01fWDPT04RWD 125.0.0 I got the walking stick holder from its box and went onto the balcony to see about fitting it to the new three-wheeler-walker. What a farce! I’ve no idea how or where it can fit?

3Wed001bHad a wash and did the teggies, keeping the door open all the time, in case the intercom went off. It’s getting dark a bit quick now, so I should see it when it lights up. That’s if it doesn’t break down again, of course. Grumph! I did a peek at the legs, got a couple more veins bulging and a new whatever it is (Glopidogrel?) above the left knee. Well, it makes a bit of interest dunnit!

3Wed01JI took a snap of the red sky from the unwanted, unliked, unpopular, light & view-blocking, can’t get to clean nor look down to the roadway for ay emergency vehicles cause I can’t hear the fire-alarm, thick-framed new cleverly designed kitchen windows. It is getting really dark now, so I took another picture for xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete, of the house 3Wed01ibeing done up over the way. I was amazed at how light it came out, but I’m not complaining about it. The lads will have to pack-up working outside soon. A bit like Pete did when he won the lottery and had a fortune left him by an unknown relative. Still, he says he misses the few years when he was actually working for a living. Not that I’m jealous or anything, just surprised he had to steal my valuables while I was in the hospital after the stroke. Hehehe!

3Wed01gaWDPT05LWD 125.0.0 I went to the front door (well, it’s the only one innit) to make sure none of the expected visitors who hadn’t turned up had not been and left a note for me. But a letter had been delivered, from Liberty-Global Virgin Media. The service will be going down on 12th December for approximately five hours (they say in the letter). It gives us orders to: If your services are not back to normal (Does that mean crap? Cause that is normal for them!), try resetting your set-top box (which I do not have?) and modem, This might not work, if so, give our team a call on 0800 052 2137. Thanks in advance for your patience while we improve your network. Hahaha! I had another heart attack when I read this!

I still wasn’t up to doing the templates, too tired. So I went out on the balcony and took some shots:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

WDPT06LWD 150.0.0a I came in out of the cold, and did a tripping-over of the inside step runner. I fell against the swivel chair, and spun around onto the recliner. Which worked out very well, cause I missed the cabinet and floor altogether, saving a prospectively nasty knee-banging incident! But I was well-pleased with the outcome.

I took the medications and made another brew, and could not put off getting at least some of the templates made up any longer. Or could I? Yep, enough was suddenly enough. Another change of mind, I decided to make some sarnies for eats. This was when I realised that the rice lead had not arrived as well as the anticoagulation, and medicine woman. Combined with all the Whoopsiedangleplops and Accifauxpa, the long day with the graphicationalisationing… I went from having been cheered-up with the tumble-luck, to knocked down in spirits again! I just can’t win, can I?

3Wed03WDP 11LWD 125.0.0 Got the sarnies made up. I hadn’t realised how bad the myasthenia gravis was. On closer inspection, it seemed the hands and fingers were like; if there is such a thing, were suffering a sort of micro-shivering? I had problems with the lids on the beetroot jar, struggled in cutting the tomatoes and apples, a close call or two to slicing a finger, and spreading the bread was a comical affair! The photographing showed all this up, and the blurriness disappointed me. The ingredients of what should have a simple nosh varied greatly. The cooked chicken and sliced on the slicer tomatoes sarnies were alright. The mushroom, cooked for ten-hours in the crock-pot with #Sukang Puti vinegar were fine. The Marmite cheese disc was a little out of date, but tasted marvellous! The mini-side tomatoes were truthfully tasteless! The sliced Cox’s apples, nice. The Baxter’s cooked beetroots, although dangerous to slice, were cooked to perfection. Overall, a Flavour-Rating of 5/10 given.

Got the pots cleaned. Then the handwashing wash washed, wrung and hung up.

As I got into the xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, second-hand, used, £300, c1968, second-hand recliner, and was feeling a tad sorry for myself.

WDP12LI do recall feeling sad and frustrated, that things beyond my control, and beyond my powers to solve or prevent, had happened. Perhaps this is meant to be? In my last existence, if I had one, I must have been a right ‘#-*%Zµ⊗]’d! Perhaps, it’s a way of easing departing the earthly life, as it gets less and less appealing? Well, it’s working! Humph!

0Nov 17

01:35hrs: I woke up, but somewhat reluctantly this morning. For there were small imprints of a dream memory floating about in my electroencephalographically-challenged brain. I tried to access them without any success. All I could decipher was that I was enjoying the experience, but no details at all. Most aggranoying!

I surrendered to the impulse to get free of the xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting. When I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet five-months later), recliner. Mainly due to the need for a wee-wee. I got up, slowly as the grogginess was lurking about in me again, and utilised the GPWWB (Grey-Plastic-Wee-Wee-Bucket). Which, incidentally, I find it so much easier nowadays, with using the four-pronged walking stick, it being stand-supportable and within reach, while I perform such activity.

WD 100.20.0 It was of a disappointing PWWDIB (Pathetic-Weak-Why-Did-I-Bother) mode. And almost a best-guess job as to when it had finished! Tsk! Washed the dandies, and got the handwashing moved about on the airers. Put the kettle on, took the medications, and it was time for a Porcelain-Throne visit.

WD 100.20.0 Off to the wet room, nervously expecting another massive evacuation and the system getting blocked up again, which is just what happened! But the proportions were even more substantial this time. How? Where from? How come it was gurgled away this time? Humph! At least the bleeding was only light, and it could have been messier, I suppose.

7Sun04Had a good cleaning session and wash up after the evacuation. The legs I noticed, were a lot less pot-marked and not so affected by the Myasthenia gravis and Vasculitis, so, fewer lumps and growths are showing! Which is good, if an intermittent thing. But they are still somewhat bombycinous and pale, mind.

7Sun02As I was taking the mug of tea to the computer desk, I noticed the readings on the Nottingham City Homes supplied for free, monitor thingy, was showing out of sync a smidge. It indicates that the heat is getting too high – well I can’t feel it? Humidity is in just off the green markings on the rankings. It’s cold to me, and the fog may be having an effect on the moisture.

I took a couple of shots from the unliked and unwanted new kitchen window, with its thick, light and view-blocking frames. The first one in Night Scene mode, and the second in Auto.

7Sun01

I got on with the Saturday post updating. It took about four hours to get all done and posted off. So many photos to get right, and the fingers with their Peripheral neuralgia and dysaesthesia problems, were making things increasingly worse for me when typing. I was spending more and more time correcting things.

7Sun06When it was done, I got the mushrooms in the crock-pot. Added some of the Puti vinegar and onion granules. I think I may have put in too much of these, though. Judging by how the picture looks in the dish? But, we’ll see later on when I taste one of them. A big day with cooking, I’ve got Josie’s to do first, and mine later on. I want to get the gals looking right.

7Sun05I’ve just realised, I think the droning, whining noise from outside, is getting a bit less now? But, maybe with all the coughing and blowing of the nose, what bit of hearing I’ve got left has temporarily been made worse?

I took three shots of outside again to show you the misty morning.

I went on the WordPress reader for a while, then went on the TFZer Facebook page, to try and catch up and put the newer pictures on the albums.

I set about making neighbour Josie’s dinner. Smoked haddock, tuna in mayonnaise, gherkins, tomatoes, cheesy mashed potatoes, a Limoncello dessert, lemon wakers and a gin & tonic. I took a photo of it as a last-minute thought – but realised much later, that the SD card was not in the camera! Grr! I got it all served up and the tray on the mobile server and delivered it tp her door. But no answerer. I waited about for ten minutes while the meal got colder, and Josie came in the hallway to the flats, she’d been doing her laundry. Still, she seemed content with the nosh. No time for a proper chinwag, else the fodder would have got too cold to eat.

I returned to the flat and completed the washing up. Heck of a job when I’ve made instant potato cheesies, they cling on to everything, forks, spoon, mixing bowl, Hehehe! But I mastered them in the end. Thoughts on what I might have for nosh came to mind, so I looked at what was available, and there was plenty to choose from. I opted for chips, bacon medallions, the rest of the peas and mushrooms. But, I could not cook chips and the bacon at the same time, so another thinking session. I opened a tin of potatoes and put it in with the mushrooms and peas, so now all I have to do is put the chips in. Cushty!

7Sun03Did some updating on the diary, and went to check on the saucepan. All was okay.

I saw the cleaned empty jars on the side, ready for going down to the recycling bin. But sudden fatigue and weariness had arrived again.

I decided to turn off the computer and get the nosh ready before I flaked out. Haha! The thought of the pretty, highly desirable Polish phlebotomy nurse coming in the morning cheered me up a tad.

7Sun08I stripped off the clothes and got into the jammies. Shattered! I got the meal prepared, and served up. Into the rickety-recliner and ate the nosh while watching the England v Kosovo match.

Which I didn’t last until half-time. 0-0 when I nodded off; and my hopes for this messy England side did not bode well. Imagine my surprise when I woke up in the morning and saw a 4-0 win for the three-lions!

But I must have needed the kip methinks, I’ve never fallen asleep during an England football match in my life, well, I have now! Shame-Faced-Mode-Adopted!

WD 0.0.50 00:25hrs: The first thing that broke into my muddled-chaotic mind this morning was that ever-present humming, drowning wind-like noise that surrounds the entire block of flats, and how extremely noisier it was! Grr!

6Sat03WDP 13LWD 0.0.50 Then the Colin Cramps started off again, and a few well-chosen, well not really; more like automatic silently mouthed curses were uttered, as the agony sank in! Yet, amazingly, this passed very quickly, confusing my already befuddled brain even further!

WDP 16RWD 0.0.50 The need for the Porcelain Throne became apparent, and the dysaesthesia made getting up out of the £300 second-hand c1968 recliner more difficult than usual. I must have looked like a drunken man, as the myasthenia gravis and dying autonomic nerves ensured I could not sense the arms of the chairs, and ended up in a fine mess, half-in and half-out of the chair muddle! I had to smile at my predicament! The Idiopathic side-affects made my escape from the huddle I found myself in, was not easy. It took planning and forethought before my manoeuvering my mass into an upright position. It took that long, the necessity for the Porcelain Throne usage had moved to Defcon Two!

WDP 10LWD 0.0.50 I stumbled my way to the wet room, knocking stuff off of the Ottoman and clouting my elbow on the door frame on the way! Not a second to spare, onto the throne, and a half-way evacuation got stuck! The crossword book helped me kill time and not think so much of the painWDP 13dR for several minutes until things started moving of their own accord – then the pain level rose, but there was no controlling the action. Gritted my teeth, grimaced a bit, and finally a splash-causing ‘Kerplonk-Thunk’, and blessed relief! Phew! Then the cleansing and sanitising and medicating had to be done, off course. Bleeding from Little Ichies fungal lesion, and Harold’s Haemorrhoids! No matter how far I get behind with things today, nor how bad the weather will be, and having to struggle with two-hourly buses, I will have to get out today, and get some more Haemorrhoid cream! We’ll see?

I recalled belatedly of a dream I’d had. I think it was Silver, a cyber-friends cat, who kept coming down off of the ceiling hanging cat-run and purring at me, then back up and jumping down and repeating this activity? Great dream! I made a friend for life in it!

To the kitchen, took the medications and made a delightfully flavoursome brew of the Thompson tea. I had nosey out of the window, taking a few snaps of the scene.

6Sat02a

The rain was very light but just as soak-you-able as yesterday’s was. Haha!

I proceeded in an Easterly direction, to the computer. And got on with updating the Saturday blog, which only took me about three-and-half hours! With many wee-wees, all of the SGSS (Short-Gently-Sprinkling-Spraying) style, as I did so. Had a look at the WordPress reader.

WD 0.0.50 DSCN0919The damned annoying whining, droning noise from outside seemed to be getting even louder now! I went to make another brew. And the imitation Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance was most involuntarily performed, and the Polyneuropathy caused me to drop the walking stick and mug of just made tea! It went over the floor and the tall brush & dustpan, so cleaned up and returned after making another mug of brew, to the computer to make a start on this post.

I pondered on how to get to town later for the Haemorrhoid cream, Strong vinegar and some Balsamic vinegar, too. I used the last of it in with the sliced mushrooms in the slow-cooker.

The ablutions had to be done next. But I got sidetracked again, and did the handwashing first, and wrung and hung.

WDP 11kLThe ablutions went phenomenally well! One, I say One cut shaving, no damage doing the teggies, a few dropsies as is to be expected with the myasthenia gravis problem being so much worse this morning, no sock-glide injuries and just the one belting of the elbow on the door frame. (I’m getting a little too regular with doing this lately) Smug-Mode-Temprarilty-Adopted!

WDP 13bLWD 0.0.50 Until the need for another Porcelain Throne evacuation arrived as I was coming out of the wet room. A colossal-dollop that the system could not handle! I ended up trying to free things, and filling the jug with water repeatedly to get things moving again! Peeving that, and a messy job! Ah, well, no bleeding this time!

Iceland delivery expected soon. I checked on the Saturday bus times on the computer, I 6Sat03ahope the food comes in time for me to get the L9 bus at 10:32hrs. If not, then so be it, I’ll stay in, or walk down to Sherwood just for the haemorrhoid cream.

Iceland arrived with the nosh. Not a lot came, but then again, not a lot was ordered!

6Sat04Mostly Christmas treats for others. And nibbles for me, including seedless red grapes, savoury bites, chocolate nuts and crisps.

Also, new potatoes, thick-sliced tiger bread, cooked meats, Cheeselets and Twiglets. Two boxes of 6 of Walnut Whips and button mushrooms.

6Sat05I made a brew of tea, took a picture on the view outside, and updated this post a bit.

The persistent flaming howling and droning winds whatever they might be remain just as bad!

Got myself wrapped up all nice and warm, and set out to the bus stop.

I met Angela and Roy on the way through the link-passage, handed out some nibbles, and we had a little natter. On to Obergruppenfüreresses holding cell, no one in. Spoke to Herbert as I walked through the large social area, and out to the bus stop. I listened to the chinwagging, and we all (about ten of us) got on the bus when it arrived. Had a failed bash at the crosswords en route.

6Sat28I dropped off at the bottom of Hockley and went to the Asian Food store. It’s always best to go there first, cause their aisles are filled with goods and very narrow, I had to keep collapsing the trolley to get through to have a nosey around. Coming out with some crispy seaweed snacks, and what I went there for in the first place, a bottle of the delicious fire-brand strong tasty Marca Pina cooking vinegar. Very nice when added to mushroom, don’t you know.

WD 0.0.50 I plodded up the Goosegate Hill, and down through Pelham Street and Thurland STreet, and into the Wilko store. Realising as I did so, that I am disabled, and needed to go further on to Parliament Street to gain access. The entrance on Thurland Street involved steep stairs getting in and out. Stairs, which, with the Walker-guide, was impossible for me. I’d not thought of that until it was too late, Hehe! I came out less well-off, cause I got carried away a bit… again, with the buying-disease! I came out with a full trolley-guide bag and a large carrier bag, both being almost full! With, Fabric conditioner, liquid soap flakes (handwashing), Snack Brazils, chocolate peanuts (3) for £2, and some hopefully more powerful, sink & drain unblocker.

6Sat07I paid up, and out onto Upper Parliament Street, where I took this photograph, to the left along the road. Showing the street musician, who attends this spot every weekend it seems, not that it was producing much interest from the passing Nottinghamian shoplifters, yet. But credit to the lad, he does usually do well in collecting monies from the ladies in particular. Despite his chronically bad music, voice, hair, scruffy beard and hoodie. Good for him! You don’t need skills if you’ve got nerve!

I popped into the Poundland store and spent some more. On black bags, another but cheaper sink unblocker, and yoghourt peanuts. Just as well the bags were nearly full, it stopped me buying even more unwanted stuff! Tsk! Paid at the self-serve tills.

I had a hobble down Clumber Street. Taking some, I think, decentish photographs.

6Sat13As I turned into Long Row, the first signs of the Christmas Fayre appeared. The famous little helter-skelter, not exciting enough for kids nowadays, was not doing much in the way of trade again.

WD 0.0.50 I called in the Exchange Arcade, under the Council House. Not any customers in there at all. And the picture I took, which dissolved, off into the ether, not on the SD card, gone forever, Humph! I came out in the end entrance, onto Long Row, which was half-way down on the left, hidden in the photo above. I took snaps to my left, ahead and to the right, of the not-very-happy looking Nottinghamian’s, milling around the stalls and rubbish bins.

6Sat21AT the bottom of King and Queen Streets, the Ice Mountian Slide was busy.

From the Nottingham Post Site:

Report on the Toboggan Ride

The Ice Mountain Toboggan Ride – At Winter Wonderland. Part of this year’s Winter Wonderland, the ride can accommodate two people at any one time and will cost £3 for two goes.
The ride starts with punters climbing the staircase to the left of the slide, popping their bottom into the middle of a giant inflatable ring, holding on to the hand-grips on either side and being pushed down the slope.

So, two runs for £3. Not bad that!

I timed the descent of the two in the photograph, it lasted for seven seconds.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

6Sat26I poddled up Queen Street and onto Parliament Street, and took this picture of the sensibly well-wrapped up Nottinghamian’s going miserably about there Saturday ventures.

Then back down the hill, to the bus L9’s bus stop. I observed the replaced during upgrading gargoyle shelters on the rooftop.

6Sat26a

I felt a little sad that the architect designed figurines had been removed in the cleaning process, unsafe I suppose? For sheer devilment, later I made a mock-up of how I would have liked the shot to appear. Hahaha! I am a clot!

I had another failed effort at getting some more crossword answering done on the way home. The bus filled up well en route, and back at Winwood Heights, about fifteen residents alighted the bus alongside me. A tenant waiting with a few more, to get on the bus, saw me struggling a bit with the trolley-guide and kindly assisted me onto the pavement. Those who got off of the vehicle were all a little nimbler than I. They shot inside the flats ahead of me, out of the cold.  I don’t blame them either! So, a lonely, chin-waggless journey through the link-corridors and big social room it was. Although, I did say hello to Herbert, who had done marvels during the afternoon with his jig-saw puzzle progress.

WDP14aLWD 0.0.50 I met a gent and lady at the lift lobby, and we went up together having a chinwag, I got out to allow them to exit the cage on the fourth floor, and the lift doors closed and it shot off before I could get back in with the trolley-walker. Ah, well! I waited for one to arrive.

WDP 11gRWD 0.0.50 I got back up to the flat, and straight to the wet room, for yet another Porcelain Throne session and a massive long slow wee-wee! Where is it all coming from? Another near-system blocking evacuation, and a wee-wee that again got me having a bash at the crossword book! Still, on the bright side, little bleeding and not a messy effort, at all!

I got the purchases stored away, and made a start on the day’s nosh! I made some lamb gravy up, and sliced onions and tomatoes then added them in a pan to heat up while the potatoes and minced lamb cooked in the oven. After twenty minutes, I took the mini-ready-made meal out of the oven, and added the gravy, tomatoes, onions and the last of the balsamic vinegar, stirred things in well, and back in the kiln for another half-hour. (The food, not me!)

WDPStraightWD 0.0.50 It was at this stage, that I felt a right dumbo! Nothing unusual I know!) I’d realised I had forgotten to get the Harold Haemorrhoid Cream while I was out and about! An angst-making bout of mock-spitting, cursing, self-loathing, depression, self name-calling, and self-questioning followed! Schlemiel!

6Sat27WDP 09LThe meal turned out superbly. For me anyway, others might not have appreciated it as much as like-wot-I-did. For I had overcooked it a tad, but I caught it in time before anything got burnt, just extremely well done, which was perfect! A taste-rating of 9.2/10 was given! Yummy!

I got the few pots washed, moved the handwashing about on the airers, and took the evening medications. Then settled into the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. The one that Xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later).

Got the TV on, coughed a few times, passed wind, and I was soon off to sleep – amazingly!

0Nov 14

23:00hrs: After so many interruptions trying to get to sleep last night, I gave-up altogether, I needed another wee-wee anyway. The GPEWWB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency-Wee-Wee-Bucket) I had moved into readiness position by the £300, second-hand, c1968, rickety, rusty, recliner. It was well-filled, and I added to it. This time with an ELRWS (Extra-Long-Reluctant-Weak-Sprinkly) wee-wee. The container needed emptying and sanitising, so I grabbed the four-pronged walking stick and off to the kitchen I hobbled, with Arthur Itis not so bad in the knees, yet. I’m mastering (that may be too strong a word?) this multiple-footed, stand-upable stick now.

4Thu02 I took the bin in the wet room, sorted and refreshed it, then myself, and went to the kitchen. Where I was pleased with this photographicalisation on the left, that I took. I chose the Night-Landscape option on the choices dial. Rather a moody-outcome that pleased me somewhat. I saved it in 64-bit. Smug-Mode-Engaged!

3Wed07WD 60.20.0 As I got the medications out, I noticed the newly yesterday evening short-delivered prescriptions. Then, that last night’s dose was still in the blister pack – so a good start! But I’m well-pleased that I sent the email informing the Carrington Pharmacy about the problem last night. It’ll save a job, or me forgetting to do it today! True!

4Thu03I only took one Warfarin with the morning doses. Had a good swig of the cough Linctus.

Next, I got the mushrooms in the saucepan, not heated, just marinating with some Soy sauce and Philippanese Sukang Puti (Pinakamasarap) vinegar. The strongest available! Whether the 4Thu04mushroom fungi will sink or take any of the flavours in, I’ll find out tonight. When I add them with some Nutoory tomatoes, which I got ready for slicing later as well. I’m getting very experimentationalistical with food in my old age! I hope this seasoning doesn’t prompt any postprandial problems from the rear or front-end, with the roast vegetable risotto it’s all going into. Haha!

The irritating humming droning noise is still out there all around the building. It’s being joined at this moment, by a pinging sounds occasionally? Grr! I hope some part of the building isn’t beginning to break up?

WD 60.20.0 I made a brew and got on the computer. Visited the WordPress Reader, then in the updating of the Wednesday blog. Stopping often a cross between a cough and a sneeze, and each time thought the insides of my chest would pop-out. Having so many weak unwilling mini-wee-wees, that I got the GPEWWB out again near the desk! Not much being passed, but so often, the bucket is filling up already! Hard to concentrate having to stop for a wee-wee, albeit tiny, and a cough-sneeze that needs the physical removal of the phlegm! A little recondite to explain, but ‘Pissed-offedness-Status’ was adopted! Possibly made worse by my irresistible thirst for tea, that is getting even stronger! Help!

Many hours later, I got the post finalised. Phew! Sent it off to WordPress and on Emails.

I had a touch of xerophthalmia, so sprayed some Visualise water on the eyes. I suspect it is due to the long hours watching the computer screen, perhaps? Hey-Ho!

WD 60.20.0 Each time I got up for a wee-wee, to make a cuppa or to check on something that was worrying me (Yes, it’s another of my nebbish, being nervous, pessimistic, unpropitious state of mind days), the knees seemed to get more painful? Did I leave the light on in the wet room? Have I turned off the hot water tap? Did I turn on or off the stove? What day is it? These and more worries just have to checked-out. This type of disadvantageously direful dilemma that the Stroke seems to be with me forever. However, the need for the Porcelain Throne attendance pulled me out of the self-pity syndrome. And I was off to the wet room.

4Thu05WD 60.20.0 Another dirty-great-dollop of an evacuation. Bleeding from the front (Little Inchy) and rear (Hemorrhoid Harold). But nowhere near as messy this time. You see? There is often a silver-lining if you look in-depth, long and hard enough! It helps if you are wearing the wrong glasses! Haha!

WD 60.20.0 The legs (pins), really getting back to their usual pale but yellowy-coloured skin, warped fluid-retaining mangy state. And again displaying the blood papsules, veinal growths, lumps, spots, weals, scars, bruises, welts, contusions, blemishes, dapples, and maculations. With Thrombophlebitis, and assorted new Clopidogrel inspired grooves and ridges. As for the knees, they were stiffer than ever now!

WDP 11hLHowever, regardless of the bleeding and the poor state of the pins, this was not necessarily a bad thing. It took me out of the depression I was slowly falling into, by a strange sort of satisfaction, contentment, that the recent good luck I’d been having, was fading, and the acknowledged, accepted, accustomed state of perpetual-pain and discomfort had returned. I can take this condition, but me having luck and being fortunate is foreign to me. Thus, as I left the room, a smile crept over my face, and then tripped over the four-pronged walking stick. I had to laugh!

4Thu06I decided to add some of the Natoora, South Korean (Large bank account needing) mushrooms to the normal Irish ones that were already marinating in the pan. A multi-cultural nosh in the offing today. Irish and South Korean mushrooms, cooking in a Hong Kong made saucepan, while the Berkshire Italian style baked roast vegetable risotto, with Taiwan rice cooks in the Spanish-made oven. Sicilian Tiger Plum tomatoes to be added. With Philippines Sukang Puti (Pinakamasarap) vinegar, and Chinese light Soy sauce. Oh, I do hope it turns out okay! I hope to be cooking some rice in the rice-cooker soon.

Hello, the time’s shot by, better get the ablutions done, and visit Jenny. Back in a while, crocodile… I am a fool!

WDP 11hLThe ablutions went well. A few dropsies were all I had to put up with, well, a lot of dropsies really. Haha! However, no cut gums, no bleeding from shaving, Little Inchy nor Harold’s Haemorrhoids. The battle with the sock was painless (Almost!), and both sock fittings worked the first time, too! No lumps of finger trapped,

I got the mushrooms on the lowest setting on the stove ring. Then set off, with some PPs on the three-wheeler for Jenny. I rang her bell and left them on the floor outside the door in a carrier bag.

4Thu07Got in the lift and down to the ground floor, and along the link-passage into the Winwood Court. Doing a bit of chesty-coughing en route. The tickle is back! I took a snap through the window, of the new unused as yet, al-fresco seating area. One day when the warm sun appears, I shall go out, sit on a bench, get the crossword book out, and fall asleep. Hopefully! Haha!

4Thu08I got to the Winwood foyer and went up the lift to the rooftop lounge/rest area. As the elevator door opened, I was greeted by one of the Dulux dogs that someone had put on a coffee table. It looked so real for a second or two. Haha!

4Thu09I wandered around and took a picture through the window, of the Woodthorpe Grange Park. By gum, the wind and rain were so vicious out there. The trees were bending and blowing in the vicious gusts of wind.

4Thu10I opened the automatic push-pad doors and took a photo of Woodthorpe Court, while partially under-cover beneath the eave of the opening.

It looked pretty bleak, misty, wet and depressing!

4Thu11Then I made a snap of the new rooftop veranda, with the chained-down tables and chairs. This secured them from getting blown away in the high winds. It was not done to prevent people from nicking them! He-He! No wonder with this weather, that there was no one out there. But then, there has never been anyone out there on my visits, yet!

4Thu12WD 60.20.0 I did venture out into the rain briefly, to take a shot of the blocked rooftop drains. They’ve been like this since they were built in the first place. I had a nosey around all the windows when I came back in. I wonder how many fallen leaves 4Thu13there were out there at the back of the court? Millions there must have been?

When I got in the lift to go down, I tried to catch my reflection with a thumbs-up sign in the panelling and plastic, but it didn’t work. Hey-Ho!

I called at the Oberstfureresses holding-cell office and handed some of the Red Bull Sicilian tomatoes for them to try. They were no impressed. On the way down the link corridor, Angela and Frank came in the opposite direction, and we had a mini-gossip and shared the nibbles.

WD 60.20.0 I got to the Woodthorpe lift foyer, Gawd, it’s cold in there after coming out from Winwood Court!

Up to the flat, and collected the box of recyclables. I took it balanced on the three-wheeler, down to the caretaker’s room. The lads were having a break and told me to leave the box where it was, and they’ll take it out to the bin for me, bless em! We had a natter and laugh, shared the nibbles, and I started off back to the apartment. In the lift lobby, Christine and Welsh William arrived at the same time, and we had a chinwag on the way up.

Back in the flat. Another ELRWS wee-wee was taken. Washed up and made a brew. I got a call confirming the nurse’s attendance in the morning. Oh, dear! I thought it was for next Friday, not this one!

I called xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete, to cancel his and Jane’s visit. We had a good natter that I enjoyed. The weather is not going be any better anyway, according to the forecast.

4Thu15

4Thu14I took to his shot of the house opposite the flats that are being upgraded, new roof, an extension built etc. to show Brother-in-Law Pete. He was in the building game for a few years. Until he won the lottery and got left a fortune by an unknown relative, and retired when he turned forty. Don’t suppose I’ll get my money and valuables back now for a while.

I got with TFZer Facebook updating for an hour or so. I turned everything off and made a start on the nosh. The ready-made risotto meal in the oven. Kept stirring the mushrooms, and after 15 minutes in the kiln, I took out the tray, and added the tomatoes and both types of mushrooms, and back into the stove for a further ten-minutes on hot. Kept an eye on the meal, all the time, stirring it once. While doing this bit of cooking, I had to take three LRWS (Long-Reluctant-Weak-Sprinkly) wee-wees!

4Thu21aGot the nosh served up, and it was a real delight to the taste-buds. Flavour-Rated at 8.8/10. Admitted it looked a right mess, but I ate it from the tray in the bowl-dish and saved a bit on washing up! Haha!

I washed up and got another ‘Hustle’ DVD, series five to view. Most comforting in a way, when the nodding-off, waking and rewinding the DVD to where I fell asleep to try and watch it again repeat-circle began. I was a bit concerned that the coughing, wheezing and sneezing might disturb the neighbours, but a good swig of the Linctus and things calmed down. I did stay awake long enough to give up trying to watch the ‘Hustle’ episodes and changed to watching the TV. The adverts were on at the time, and… Zzzz! Heavenly!

WDP 11gLWD 60.20.0 Woke up a couple of hours later for yet another wee-wee, blimey, it was a long, painful reluctant one! Argh! Would be an apt word to use. Hehehe!  I stayed up, then.

May all who have read this true-clap-trap, be granted enormous, generous proportions of prosperity, providence, profit and fiscal plenteousness, and receive, benevolence, empathy and appreciation from all others today! Bless yers!

23:15hrs: I fell asleep early and woke up early, back to the old much-missed panicky ‘In-Need-of-the-Porcelain Throne’ habit is back. Out of the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner. That xyrophobia-suffering Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward. And he fitted new CCTC cameras, he erected a drone-landing platform outside and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later). Off to the wet room.

It was a mammoth evacuation, but not messy, aroma-challenging, and no bleeding from the rear-end or Little Inchy. All in all, a fair, but coughing filled session!

Washed and off to the kitchen. Took the medications and made a rich brew of Glengettie Gold tea! Then to the computer, intent of getting the updating of yesterday’s post done. But… WD 150.0.0

Vir deepBrown

WD 150.0.0 I went to set up the Rice-Cooker ready for later…but the plug would not go in the socket! After spitting, making myself cough worse than ever, and a little blue language, I gave-up! Snottleburgers! I’ll have to inform the supplier late. Grumph!

The computer was working, but so slow! So, I got the ablutions sorted early while I gave it some more time. Not a bad session, a few dropsies that’s all, and with it being so early, no noisy showering.

Back to the computerisationing, things seemed to still be a little slow, but it was working at least. Thank you, Mr Fries! I got on with the updating, and with so many photographs from the After-Stroke Physio visit, and all the altercations to report, it took a monumentally long time to get done.

WD 150.0.0 Then after posting, the Porcelain Throne was required again. It was dichotomously poles-apart from the first one, although still massive in size, it was messy. Bloody and a right stinker-phoo! Also, immediately after the evacuation finished, a wee-weeing of monumental proportions came and came and… well you get the idea, it flowed a lot! I had another bit of a struggle to stem the flow, too! Haha!

I didn’t consider things to be too bad all the same. I was getting back slowly to my regular rotten-luck, unfortunateness, boo-boos, devil’s own luck and ill-fortune. Well, after so many years of failure and my being the headmaster when it comes to coping with hard knocks, omissions and miscalculations, the last few days of having the odd little good fortune, was not a little off-putting and worrying! But I feel things are now getting back to the usual suicidal, depressionalistic style. I alright with this, I’m content, cause I’m used to it.

WDP 08LWD 150.0.0 +: As if it was timed for this blog, a Mega-Whoopsie then happened. The Morrison delivery arrived. Which had the Christmas treats on it… but, the driver spotted that one of the mini-bottles of wine, had been shattered! And he could not leave any stuff in the bad or the one next to it, for fear of shards being delivered!3Wed01f

Fair enough! I ended up with just two carriers of food being left.

The poor driver cut his finger, trying to sort-out if anything could be delivered from the two carriers. But it was too risky for him to hand anything over. He told me to email Morrison’s with the details. Which was complicated, because they do not supply any paperwork with the delivery! Mind you, none of them does now, I don’t think. I thanked the chap and 3Wed01gaoff he went. I put away the stuff that was delivered, not a big job, and took a picture to send to Morrison’s of the goods I’d received. And went on the email to read the order snipped it, and put it on CorelDraw to put a line through the products that had to be taken back. This cost me a lot of time to get done, but I managed it.

3Wed01JIt looked clear enough to me, at least.

Then I formulated the wording so they could understand me plainly enough, ready to use on the email.

At least the roast vegetable risotto meals had been in another carrier bag, so were not affected and were delivered for me to enjoy, perhaps tonight?

Especially as I can’t use the new rice-cooker at the moment. Tsk!

Ah, well, Hey-Ho!

3Wed01LI got on the computer and Google Mail. But could I find an address for the Morrisons Customer-Service? No! I found a direct link that would not let me add photographs, which I’d hoped would save me a lot of writing.

Then, to my utter surprise, I got an email come in from Morrisons!

The driver must have phoned and advised them straight away on leaving Woodthorpe Court for me?

So, Jane and Pete, Mo, Jenny, Deana, Julie, Josie, Cyndy and the others will have to wait for their treats now!

The Intercom flashed and rang out, it was the Ocado delivery. He had the precious Glengettie Gold, and Thompsons teabags. Plus the wonderfully tasty Soul-Food vegetarian chilli and the Milk Roll bread with him! The chap put the things inside for me. Thanked him. The fridge, cupboards and freezer were now chocka-block!

I decided to take some nibbles out in the trolley. I know that Jenny are not it today, it’s their feasting-out day. I’ll take the camera, and nip up to Lidl, no, Aldi on the bus to get some bleach. Back in a while… Hopefully! Immediate change of plans when I saw the wind blowing the hell out of the trees. I’ll go to town on the bus if I can catch it in time.

Out, down in the lift, through the link-passage and called at the Oberstgruppenfhúreress Warden Julie’s and Hauptsturmfhúreress Deana’s holding and interrogation office as I passed it on the way. Left the sourdough and milk roll loaves on the desk for them.

Quick hello to Herbert as he was starting a new jigsaw puzzle off in the main social room, and pressed on to the bus stop. A little drizzle had joined the wind. Not a soul waiting for the bus at the shelter, but there were several folks already on the bus. I got on board the Bestwood routed L9 and had a natter as I settled in a side-saddle seat, by the time I had got down, it was time to get up again to get o3Wed01Tff in Sherwood. Hehe!

I alighted at the bottom of Winchester Street hill. The L9 bus I’d just got off of can be seen in this photo on the right. I plodded on down to Mansfield Road and turned left, to visit the Ozan International Food Store. I’ve not visited it lately, because with my struggling with the trolley in the narrow aisles and steep steps3Wed02 having to be tackled getting around the store, it is a bit of hard work. However, my desire for their lemon wafers and biscuits gave me the will-power to try again. They had now started to display their fruit and veg outside on the pavement! And the food looked horrible. Withered and unappealing most of it looked. Especially some tomatoes on display, talk about macerated!

WDP 11gLWD 150.0.0 WD 150.0.0a I got in and started to have a wander in the shop. Struggling to get the trolley around with me in the narrow aisles, I came to the three steep steps up to the so-called, fresh-foods section. This is where I was in the middle of lifting the trolley as I gingerly stepped up, and had a visit from Dizzy Dennis. Twisted the knees as I had to catch my balance, and Arthur Itis kicked into life! From here on, it was limping around painfully for the rest of the day for me! Tsk! I did get some chicken sausages from the fridge. I’d had these before, and found them tasty and morish in the extreme. Which was silly really, with all the ready-meals I had at home in the fridge and freezer, What a Schmuck! I searched painfully, for some lemon wafers or biscuits without any luck. Until I was making my way limpingly (Gawd, the knees were giving me some gip now!) to the till, and I spotted they had lemon mini-lemon cakes, individually wrapped on display near the counter, and added a pack to the chicken sausages.

3Wed10aPaid the gal, and out and up Mansfield Road! Where I met Welsh William, who told me of another shop closing, a Charity outlet, sadly. So we went in to have a look for any bargains in their Clearance Sale prices. William had left, I nosied at the DVDs, in hopes of finding ‘The Negotiator’ film, but no. Still, at three for a pound, I bought these DVDs, even if I have seen them before (apart from Safe House), at that price.

WD 150.0.0 WD 150.0.0a The knees were bad, I had the occasional 3Wed03stumble when the front wheel of the trolley hit gaps and sticking up bits of the paving slabs or slid on the leaves, causing Back-Pain-Brenda to join in with Arthur Itis giving out the pain. Tsk!

A chap came and held the door open for me at the Post Office stores, as I struggled up the steep steps with the walker-guide to get inside, thank you mate! I didn’t have much success in their either. No puff-pastry fingers or Orange digestives. But I bought a pack of Vienna swirls.

3Wed05Paid the man, who was on his mobile throughout the time serving me, so I could not ask him if he was going to get any Puff Pastry fingers in stock, and I departed out into the oh, so cold sunshine. Still no rain, and the wind seemed to be dropping.

I meandered stumblingly up to and across the pelican lights over the road. And up the hill to the bus stop. Welsh William was spotted, nipping into the Coral bookies on the corner of Hall Street. It is handily placed for its many customers from Winwood Heights. With the cheap booze shop on the opposite corner, this is a boon for the alcoholics and obsessed, addicted, passionate, fanatical alcoholics and gambling-junkies at our Winwood Heights flats. I’ve only been in a bookie twice in my life, never picked a winner. Did the lottery for several years, without a single win of any size. Did the pools for donkey’s years, and won once, 4/6d (23p) for my £1 stake. So, with my record, it’s no surprise that gambling isn’t for me. But I can see the appeal all the same, for someone who is luckier than I. (Which seems everyone!) Hehehe!.

Got on the 40 bus, with Christine. We hobbled from the Winchester Street stop up to the flats. The leaves were making walking safely difficult, and Chrissie guided me onto the road and kept conk for traffic. A couple of near toppling over incidents en route to the flats. A good job Christine was with me. We nattered away and got to the lift lobby in Woodthorpe Court, where we were met by some other neighbours, Christine, Welsh William, two unknown new residents and myself rode up chinwagging as we went.

3Wed06I got in the flat, and after a wee-wee, got the nosh sorted out and served up. I had the chicken sausages with a tin of chopped tomatoes and added some passata to it. An apple, a Pop-Kek lemon cake, and a lemon curd yoghourt to follow. I ate rather too much Milk Roll bread with it, though! But it was delicious, a flavour-rating of 7.5/10!

I was feeling suddenly drained, out of energy, which is a regular occurrence, I put the tray on the chair, and simply nodded off into heavenly blissful sleep!

3Wed11WD 150.0.0 Huh! The landline chirped and flashed into life. I grumblingly freed my cumbersome-plump body from the recliner an answered the call. It was a nurse lady from the Medicines Team. The After-Stroke woman who did the six-month Check-up on me had reported to her that I need assistance and have problems with the medications? She arranged to visit me next Wednesday at 09:30hrs. Oh? I thanked her and took the meal things to be washed up. Had a PWWDIB (Pathetic-Weak-Why-Did-I-Bother) mode wee-wee, and moved the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency Bucket) to next to the recliner, I think it will likely be needed overnight.

WD 150.0.0 I got settled again in the second-hand, c1968, gungy-beige coloured rickety recliner, and turned on the TV, to watch some ‘Hustle’ DVD. But soon the doubts of whether I had turned off the hot water tap appeared, and I just had to go and check on it, to find all was okay… But it was lucky that I did this because I’d left the hob on the stove one! Self-Disgust-Mode-Adopted!

Back in the recliner, irritated and low in spirits now. I got the DVD back on, with subtitles of course. And was soon back in the land of Nod! Ah, lovely!

WD 150.0.0 The door chime rang out! I gave a sigh of fed-upness, Hauled my weary torso and attached ailments from the rickety recliner, I put on a dressing gown and answered the door, with full comprehensiveness lacking, I must admit. A young lady handed me a parcel of prescription medications. I thanked her and placed them on the kitchen worktop.

WD 150.0.0 I returned to the recliner and got down to rest again. But not for long. Sleep was now refusing to come. My thought-riddled brain would not allow it. Something was wrong, out-of-order, not right, needed doing, whatever it was, it bugged me not knowing! I got up to check that I’d closed the door properly, yep, all done. Then, ‘Had I taken the evening medications yet? The now puddled mind was playing me up. All these interruptions didn’t help, and my temporary dementedness was a handicap too. I thought I’d get up yet again, to check the tablet-blister packs to check on the doses left in.

WD 150.0.0 3Wed07Entering the kitchen and seeing the pack of medications, it dawned on me what I was worried about – the pack was nowhere near the size it usually is, so I opened it up, to find that there were no Warfarin tablets. No Paracetamols. Also, no Duodenal Donald medicines and no Macrogul sachets! Something else to worry about, and have to sort out! (I forgot all about not taking the evening medications – Grumph!)

WDP 11fLGot the computer on and sent an email to the Pharmacist. Turned off, and back to the recliner.

WD 150.0.0 Could I get to sleep again?

Could I Boggleshine!

0Nov 12

00:40hrs: Woke up with a jump, in need of a wee-wee. The wee-wees being far fewer recently. I had not placed the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency Bucket) near the recliner last night. Which meant a rapid-release from the Brother-in-Law damaged, £300, second-hand, c1968 recliner was needed. And, this was achieved without much pain or hassle too! I hobbled with the four-pronged (Easily trip-over-able) stick to the wet room.

WDP 11gLWD 128.0.128N I positioned myself over the porcelain bowl, and spent the next five minutes waiting for the action to start! When it did start to move, it came in dribs and drabs, hurt like hell, took ages, and floated on top of the water already in the WC? A variation of the PWPWDIB (Pathetic-Weak-Painful-Why-Did-I-Bother) mode. Ah, a bladder infection again, methinks! I’m not looking forward to the next wee-wee at all! At least there was no bleeding from Little Inchies fungal lesion, so it wasn’t all bad.

I washed and cleaned the contact points in the wet room. The nurse suggested I do this if I get any more infections, to help not spreading and elongating the suffering, she said!) Bless her!

WDP11LWD 128.0.128N Off to the kitchen… only to find I had left the hot water tap running! I felt an idiot, self-loathing kicked-in, Grumph-status rose, and embarrassment mode moved up to Defcon three! Ah, well, at least it should not take too long to heat up now I’ve turned the tap off. He says with a bit of doubt and even less confidence! Hahaha!

1Mon02I took the medications and a swig of the cough medicine and made a brew, a fine superior brew of the Glengettie Gold tea. I still can’t find anyone selling this anywhere, and am limiting my treats to it, so the bags I have last longer! This reminded me about Ocado not having any for ages, so I got on the computer and checked. Nice Surprise, they now have Glengettie Gold and Thompsons teabags back in stock. So I ordered some along with other favourites that only they sell; Vegetarian ‘SoulFood’ chilli ready meals, lemon bleach 2litres, and so on, oh, and some rice! So, I can now indulge again in the best tea on the market, Glengettie Gold, and second-best Thompson’s, then hopefully, tomorrow evening, I can try the electric rice-cooker with the Chinese sausages at last!

WDP 11eLI started doing the updating for the Monday post. With right-hand fingertips, that could sense when they were touching anything! So things went well for once with the typing. This, along with the Clopidogrel and blood-papsules disappearing from the legs, is unnatural and a tad worrying. No messages from the EQ either? Of cause, the Whoopsiedangleploppery continues. All done, as the need for the Porcelain Throne visit arrived.

WDP 11dRTo the wet room, and would you believe it, although, still a vast amount evacuated, it was painless (Oh yes!), not messy, and no bleeding! I am really getting nervous about all these sudden, unexpected improvements! And, the hot tap water was heating up now! This is just too just much good fortune for a disaster and Whoopsiedangleplop sufferer! I’m expecting death, disaster or some misfortune is in the pipeline! This is so rare, I’m afraid to let myself feel happy or contented about things!

I had a bash on the WordPress reader. Then got the stand-up (To early to use the shower, too noisy) ablutions, taking care, in case things went back to their usual Ape-Shit-Mode and I ended up bleeding to death shaving, fell over and knocked myself out or something. Hehehe!

Back in a bit, I hope!

On my way out to the wet room, I popped in to make sure I’d turned the hot water tap off in the kitchen (Having already checked several times, Tsk!) All okay! And I decided to get the handwashing done, to save bother later on when I get back from the Gulag, erm, Physio session. Hung the togs up to dry, and off to the ablutionalisationing.

Then had yet another change of plans, as I spotted how the moon straight outside was showing up. But clouds kept going over it, and the rain made photographicalisationing a little difficult. But I was determined to try and get some better shots than yesterday’s were! The results took some time to get, as I had to keep waiting for the clouds to clear, getting wet at the same time. Haha! Here are my best efforts (And not so good!):

1Mon07I got stripped off and had a peep at last nights much-improved legs… Oh dear! Not a very good photo as it turned out, in fact, one of my worst ever!

The pins (legs) had grown back the blood papsules, some blotches and the veins were bursting through again, all within twelve hours! I think the grainy photo makes them look worse than really are.

DSCN0869

Yet early last night, they looked all smooth and calm? The lighting perhaps? Beats me!

1Mon08I found this interesting picture on the SD card, I’ve not the foggiest how or why I took it?

I tell you, everything seems to be changing recently! Pains disappearing, good luck was thrown my way. I can’t cope! Hahaha!

Updating blog, and suddenly realised I had only twenty minutes to get ready and to the bus stop. Time had flown!

Amidst the panic-attack, corroboree and kerfufflement, and I was soon out on my way along Chestnut Walk, in the rain and high winds, oblivious to if I’d remembered everything or not. I walked along the roadside, to avoid too many leaves sticking to the wheels of the trolley-guide, arriving at the shelter with four-minutes to spare before the bus was due. I cleaned off some crap from the wheels, and the bus arrived. The journey was the uncomfortable, crowded with the ankle-snappers on their mobiles, with great mugs of Subway and McDonald’s coffee, with their vague not in this world expressions as they trod all over me as they got on the bus and packed it beyond capacity!

2Tue08aIn town, I exited the bus last, to avoid being trampled on again. And made my way into the Victoria Shopping Centre and to the other end, calling in Tesco. Got some nibbles for the Stroke Team, tomatoes, and milk roll bread. Leaving by the Milton Street entrance, out into the cold 2Tue09rain and wind.

Hobbled along and called into the mini-Waitrose store. Buying a Pork Terrine, and some Kenyan garden peas. Paid at the self-serve tills, and out along the road and visited 2Tue10the Bargain Store (Previously Pound Stretchers).

WD 128.0.128N Where I had a visit from Dizzy Dennis as I neared the checkout. A very kind lady behind helped me and packed the things in the trolley for me, bless her. SHe told the checkout lady that she had seen me swaying a bit earlier and had kept an eye on me. Now, how kind was that! Faith Restored! I thanked her and out into the rain and howling wind again.

2Tue11The regular young street-beggar was doing a roaring trade, and it was all women who were giving him drug or alcohol monies. This is the bloke I saw shopping in Tesco a couple of weeks ago, buying booze and a pack-a-mac raincoat. He’d got a new mac on today, and his roll-ups looked suspiciously thick. Haha!

I walked up through Trinity Square, got wet taking these photographicalisations of the works taking place. The depressing weather ensured I did not wait around long and was soon getting soaked to the skin as I hobbled ASAP to the Church Hall for the Physio.

A better After-Stroke turnout today, about nine of us. But the Scottish gal is going away on holiday abroad, so this will be the last time we see her. As she told the others of her four-week family holiday, I smiled broadly, and quipped “Well, I might be going to Bulwell at the weekend for an hour or so, to do some shopping!” This brought a laugh from some of the clan, but vacant dagger-looks from others. Oh, dear!

I handed the individually packed Pop-cakes, and Black Oreos and choc fingers to the staff for nibbles, and a couple drinks for the Obergruppenfürheresses in charge. We launched into exercises swiftly today, not that I could hear much of what was said, as usual. I was selected to do the exercises with Precious and the Nigerian gal, I couldn’t hear what we said to each other, the Nigerian gal couldn’t understand, and poor Precious was as confused as I was! But, we got through the first five tasks with aplomb, I thought. I did all the knee-bending today, but it was painful.

The stand-up dancing routine, is something else I fail at, no coordination, I never have. But seeing the effort, and funny results being put in by others, brought a wry smile to me, and appreciation of those giving it some welly. Good for them!

WD 128.0.128N When we all sat down for the Stress-Relief & Relaxation, I was no closer to thinking of any benefit for me, whatever. The book trained leaderess was talking us through this time I saw her lips moving). The lights were turned off, and she waffled on, but I could not hear her or the water-music I think it was in the background. I did hear her saying the word, coughing? I asked later, and she didn’t want anyone to cough and disturb the other’s concentration. Haha!

A ‘Look-at-Me!’ speaker arrived, although he didn’t initially speak to any of the Strokee’s, just the staff. His manner and my EQ told me just the type of person he was.

2Tue21WD 128.0.128N We had a break for nibbles and a brew. The Pop-cakes proved very popular, I’ll have to get some more next week for them. This gentleman began his ‘Look-at-me-I’m-good’ lecture. He was in charge of the City Council, PAD Scheme: Preventative Adaptations, for older people’s homes. A leaflet was handed out for us. Of course, no use to me, no longer having my own house, but I was interested, all the same. Available to anyone over 60 who has their own home: Grab Rails bath, entrance doors. Additional stair rail. Raising an armchair. Replacing high steps into your house. Referral to AgeUK for safety assessment. And Threshold strips. When she showed us all the grab rails etc. his, ‘When I was put in charge, this is what they were using for carpet levelling’, showed the old and new one he had sourced, that was so much better! Jobs for the boys? I decided this was of no value to me, listening to a temerarious, ‘Oh, I am good’ lecture about something that does not apply to me.

So, I explained about the bus timing and not wanting to get soaked waiting about for an hour if I miss the 12:05 L9, said my farewells and departed, out into the rain and wind again! The rain stopped as I went along Goldsmith Street, and I noticed the reflection on this puddle, and thought, Ah, Nottingham Street Art!

2Tue15

2Tue16WD 128.0.128N I crossed the road and turned back to photograph this Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist Student. Where the two young men are to the left of the picture, is the puddle I took a shot of.

2Tue17The rain began again, as I approached the tram stop.

I did my best to avoid the fallen leaves, nub-ends, chewing gum and tram tickets on the pavement and made my way to the L9 bus stop.

2Tue18WD 128.0.128N Another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist on Upper Parliament Street actually rode diagonally across the traffic lights! He was another of the poorly paid Deliveroo riders.

I only just got there in time, in fact, the bus driver had just closed his doors to pull away but spotted me hobbling down the hill to him, and let me on. Thank you!

5Fri23The bus got well-filled en route, but surprisingly, none of the Winwoodonians got on. I was the only person to get off at Chestnut Walk! I got in sharpishly out of the rain, and into the Winchester Court entrance to get out of the rain. I passed Margaret & Frank on the way in and we swapped ‘Hello’s’.

I walked through the link passage, now in need of a wee-wee, through the big social room, received dirty looks from some people in a meeting near the kitchen, and carried on into the Winwood to Woodthorpe passageway. I got through the swipe-door into the Woodthorpe Court lift lobby, and goose-pimples came up, it was so much colder in there. Up in the elevator and into the flat, to the wet room for a wee-wee! Some aches and pains from the physio gave me bother as I struggled to get Little Inchy out, and had an astronomically different wee-wee!  A CMOUSTSTBOWAV (Catching-Me-Out-Unwilling-Slow-To-Start-Then-Blasting-Out-With-a-Venom)! I’ve not had one of these for weeks! It fair wore me out, Hahaha!

2Tue19I set about doing the nosh, for hunger was within me that needed satiating. It took me a fair while, but I got the fodder served up, and grand it looked, too. Pate, chips, gungo beans, fresh garden peas, sliced apple, beetroot and tomatoes. I got the pots to soak in the sink, shot off with the tray and got down in the c1968, second-hand recliner. To feast on the fodder, first chip about to go in my mouth!

3Wed01eWD 128.0.128N But oh, no! The landline rank and flashed, I wish I’d ignored it now! It was Xyrophobia-suffering, fraudulent, corrupt, big lottery winner, threatening, bullying, dishonest, mendacious, sneaky, flat-breaking, nosey burglar, meddling, snoopy, clandestine-CCTV addicted, protrusive, tattletale, muckraker, kibitzer, and marplot, Brother-in-Law Pete. Hehehe! He’s to go into the City Hospital on Thursday, for a Pet Scan to suss-out what the ‘spot’ is in his innards. The scan uses a special dye containing radioactive tracers. These tracers are either swallowed, inhaled, or injected into a vein in your arm depending on what part of the body is being examined. The PET scan can measure blood flow, oxygen use, how your body uses sugar, and much more. So fret not of the procedure Pete. Await the outcome mate, then you can fret if you want to. Hope all goes well for the lad.

Oh, and he said he might call on me Friday, and even with the possibility of my getting back the stolen valuables. Less, those he fancied for himself, those sold, and those given away, of course. I imagine more stuff will go missing, though! There will also be the chance, of him passing on some of the radioactivity to me. Well, he’s generous with things that don’t cost him anything.

2Tue19WDP 11fLPete chatted on a bit more. (Just to ensure that my chips were fully-cold, I imagine) Then, to allow me to dine on my cold meal, he rang off. So, I dined on my cold meal! Sob! This photo was taken when the chips, beans and peas had a modicum of warmth. Before the apple had turned brown, the tomatoes had gone dry. the bread curled up at the edges, and the very expensive but normally delightful Pork Terrine lost its juiciness. Grumph! Swine!

His camouflaged, clandestine CCTV he fitted, must still be working. Of the last six calls Jane or he’s made, two were when I’d just fell asleep, (I wonder if he’s fitted sound to the camera, and can hear me snoring?), one when I’d just got under the shower, and three when I was about to eat my dinner? Gawd, he must hate me!

I couldn’t eat all the cold fodder on the plate, the chips were too cold to eat (Thank’s Pete!), The beans were bitter. So a lot got thrown away. I got the washing up done, and heard a noise as I was doing so, and went on a walkabout to find the source.

2Tue20The postman had been. He’d left me junk-mail, leaflets etc. but no actual addressed-to-me mail.

Ocado had sent some vouchers for money off and free delivery. At first, it seemed a bargain, £20 off my next two deliveries… then I spotted that there was a minimum spend of £80 on each delivery! Mind you, at Ocado prices, it’s not as outlandish as it sounds!

I washed and got settled to watch even more of the Hustle DVDs. I got through one episode without even nodding-off once! I got up and changed the DVD. But before it even started, I was gone, off into the land of Nod! Nice!

WDP11LWD 100.20.0 00:30hrs: I woke up feeling terribly sorry for myself and in a self-loathing mood at the same time. The mind was not really interested in working on anything else. Getting free of the Xyrophobia-suffering, flat-robbing Brother-in-Law Pete damaged, while he was flat-sitting when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras and searched for my valuables, which he found and took. (I still haven’t got them back yet six-months later), £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner, was so easy, almost painless! I thought I might still be sleeping or had died and was dreaming.

I was soon uprightish, had grabbed the stick (oddly the walking was such a lot easier this morning, with no dizzies or shakes?), and off to the kitchen. As I got the kettle on, the summoning from my innards for a visit to the Porcelain Throne arrived, so, off to the wet room. The evacuation was, erm…, well, it astounded me! Fair enough, there was the usual massive dollop coming out, but not messy, no pain at all, no bleeding, and no fluids escaping with it!

WD 100.20.0 I stood there afterwards, pondering for a few seconds. Had I actually woken up yet? I reviewed the happenings and non-happenings of the day so far. Finding the situation to be inscrutable: No hassle whatsoever from Anne Gyna, Hernia Henry, Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, Back-Pain-Brenda, no stubbed toe or the Cornelia Corns, no Neuropathic Schuhplattler dancing! Minimal bother from Rheumatoid Arthur Itis,  Peripheral neuropathy, Tight Chest Charlie, Polyneuropathy Pete, or Arnold Axonotmesis! Even the sore throat and coughing was easier. Not only these but the howling, droning noise that surrounds the flat 24/7 sounded less loud to me? I suppose I should have felt delighted and gratified, but the EQ was preventing this, with it’s “Don’t get too excited” message.

WD 100.20.0 1Mon 01With a sense of unrealism, I made my way back to the kitchen and got the kettle back on, and made a brew, getting the medications out ready. A feeling of vagueness lingered within me. My thoughts were all over the place now, mind-blasts peppering the brain, unanswered questions to the fore… Oh, dearie me!

1Mon02I tried taking a picture of the view from the unwanted, light & view-blocking, thick-framed new kitchen windows, with the unreachable for old farts panes of glass to be cleaned. I tried the Nightime Panorama option on the Nikon camera this time. Then, I got the medications imbibed and off to the computer to get the updating of Sunday’s post done.

Although there were precious few photographs taken yesterday, it still took me several hours to get the job completed. I think the main reason being my lack of concentration today. The mind-blast of questions, fears, and the nervous-making EQ quoting away at me caused some concern. Am I finally going bonkers? Hehe!

WD 100.20.0 During the updating work, I must have had four mugs of tea, and taken around ten or twelve wee-wees! All pathetic attempts of the WSS (Weak-Short-Sprinkly). In total, the passed liquid might just have filled a small cup!

I made a start on this blog. Then went on the TFZer Facebook page to catch up. I enjoyed that.

Ah, I have just seen the calendar, Iceland delivery this morning. Better ger a stand-up was done before the time arrives. Today’s lack of pains and Accifauxpas continued with the ablutionalisational session! No cut gums doing the teggies. No cuts shaving! No bleeding from Little Inchies lesion! And, as well as and besides, only three dropsies! Mmm?

Also, the Phlebotomy Nurse is due some time today to take the blood.

I made a brew and took another WSS wee-wee. Then got on CorelDraw to do some in advance.

WDPH01LMany hours spent graphicalisationing, during which, first, the delightfully attractive, twinkle-eyed, desirable, breathtakingly sultry-looking, 5’4″, perfectly-bodied, beautiful Polish phlebotomy nurse arrived to take some blood for the INR Warfarin test. The old heart, even if it is plastic and metal, fluttered! We had a natter while she removed the haemoglobin, I handed her some of the Lemon Wafers, she said goodbye and shot off, leaving a Nottingham Pensioner, a tad sad at her going.

I popped down to Jenny & Franks flat with some nibbles and PP’s. No answer, I left the morsels on the door handle in a carrier, and carried the PP’s back down, cause I did not want to block the hallway by leaving them outside Jenny’s door, I can take them down again later on.

WDPG02RBack to the CorelDrawing. An hour or so later, my Iceland food delivery arrived. Items short delivered, monies to be returned to my account within nine-working days… Mmm! Still, seeing the food made my mind up what to have for my early din-dins.

1Mon09aBack to the CorelDrawing. Many, many WSS wee-wees later, and hours later, the time arrived for the nosh to be made. I had a ready-made meal, the Iceland bean & sausage casserole, adding some tomato and bacon cooking sauce part-way through cooking, and was eaten with far too many slices of the Milk Roll bread I’d defrosted. I put the extra sauce into the food, cause there seemed an awful lot of red peppers in it this time, to cool it down a bit. It wasn’t bad at all — flavour rating, 7/10.

I decided, that late as it was in the day, if the rice-cooker arrived in time, I could go to the Sherwood shops and get some… wait for it, the one thing missing… Rice!

Back to the CorelDrawing. Going to the wet room, and the intercom chirped into life and lit up. Aha, it was the Rice-Cooker! When the young man had delivered it, I hastily opened the box and investigated the contents.

The instruction leaflet will need a good reading before I dare try it out. Anyway, this made me decide to catch the bus down into Sherwood to get some rice, which sort to get, was a gamble, but still. I got the things ready. I collected some of the too large-for-me PPs, to drop off at the Oberstgruppenfhreress Warden Julie’s and Hauptsturmfhureress Deana’s holding and interrogation office as I pass on the way down. Bit of a struggle to carry, with the bag of recyclables, I wanted to leave near the bin, but I managed it. I took some Christmas treats as well. I set off down and placed the box outside the caretaker’s bin. Doubts about whether or not I should venture out came in question, as the rain and the terrible wind blew! Walking along the link-passage to Winwood Court, the incredible warmth hit me, ah, another world. I got to the Oberschutzeress Warden’s cell and tapped nervously on the door. Handed the PPs over, and the treats. I went through the significant social room on the way to the bus stop, and I stopped for a chinwag with Mo and Herbert, who were doing a crossword together.

Then on and almost into Winchchester Court until I saw the deterioration in the weather through the windows! This decided me not to go out, I’ve got to go out in the morning, to catch the bus to the After-Stroke Physio Torture… I mean, session!

I can see no solution to the parking problem1Mon09 at Winwood Heights. I imagine that one day, either a bus will hit a vehicle parked half-on the kerb and blocking room at the buses turning island. Or someone will get knocked over having to walk with their trolley-guides on the road, cause they cannot get by the cars parked on, and already breaking-up the new tarmac pavement. But what else can they do? An accident, injury or death might encourage someone to tackle the issue, or even identify, recognise that it exists? I mean, let’s face it, it is an old people’s prison… erm, complex. Hehe!

I returned to the flat, and had a wee-wee, washed, then made a brew and sat down to watch some of the Hustle DVD. Fell asleep!

1Mon13

WDP 11hLI was caught out when I woke up, the late sun, although heatless, had blossomed out, the rain had stopped. The most noticeable thing was the legs had lost nearly all their Clopidgrel, bruises, lumps. welts and blotches! Fair enough, they had started the fluid retentioning again. But it was nice to see them without the blemishes, blood-papsule and ecchymosis scars! It’s really incredulous, inconceivable, how things have changed so suddenly! Mind you, the cramps are still there. Haha!

Ten-minute or so later, I drifted off again. I woke up, to the most beautiful skyline showing through the balcony door windows. I took a shot through the glass, then went out to take another one, through the open window.

1Mon10

WD 100.20.0 Which proved to be a painful experience. I trapped my finger when closing the metal spring shutter, that needs pushing in and pulling at the same time to use it. Tripped over the raised door runner on the way back in. Fortunately keeping my balance and not going over. Slid the door shut behind me. Turned and went tit-over-tail onto the floor, as I got myself entangled with the four-pronged walking stick!

WD 100.20.0 Getting back up was a battle, but the use of leverage from the rickety recliner helped me get up.

It’s been a day of mixed blessings.
