Inchcock Today – Wednesday 7th February 2018: A Whoopsiedangleplop, busy, incident ridden day: But enjoyable at the same time. Is that an oxymoron?

Wednesday 7th February 2018

Scotch Gaelic: Diciadain 7 Gearran 2018

2350hrs: Stirred and awaited the brain to join the body in life. It took a while, but when it did burst forth into action, it was little like a thunderstorm; of wild, violent thoughts, fears and uncontrolled self-loathing. As luck would have it, I banged my shin on the Ottoman as I escaped from the £300 second-hand recliner, and this seemed to bring the normality of the ailments and memory blanks back, I felt the warm wet worrying sensation from the lower regions, and things returned to usual in the grey-cell-box.

To the kitchen. Stubbed my toe on the waste bin.

Got the kettle on. The snow had cleared up and gone. This will make the foot journey easier to the surgery for the blood tests. And, to have the rear-end investigated over the increase in the bleeding. Not looking forward to that in the least!

Hope the rain doesn’t decide to come, though. Had a peek at the forecast, no rain on it.

Did the Health Checks and took the medications.

Had a wee-wee, but this caused the fungal infection to start bleeding again. Messy sort out session.

The lower arm, just above the right wrist seems to be aching and hurting a lot this morning, and both arms are itching away along with the upper back area? After a bit of rubbing the back against the door frame and fetching blood, through over scratching the limbs, I applied some cream to the arm, but couldn’t do this on my own to the back, of course. I must remember to mention it to the nurse later. Hopefully, nurse Nichole this time.

Got the nibble-bags prepared and in the bag for the staff and nurse at the surgery.

On to the computer. Started this post off. Then finished the Tuesday diary and got it posted.

Got the shakes and shivers this morning. I think this is due to the workers removing more cladding yesterday?

Visited the WordPress Reader. Then comments responded to.

Got the shakes and shivers this morning. I think this is due to the workers removing more cladding yesterday?

Went on Facebooking and added graphics to the albums.

A Cyber-Friend, Tim Price, wrote this ditty in response to one of the page top graphics;

I thought it well-worthy of inclusion here and put it on Facebook too.

Closed down the computer and got the ablutions tended to. As I suspected, the medicationalisationing of the Fungal Lesion was not something I’d like to do very often. Unpleasant, nocive and messy. Hey-ho!

Having the scrub-up, I realised why the tootsies were hurting so much. The toenails were far too long! Not being able to cut them myself, I have the pleasant foot-Lady Sue come to trim them. Being so long now, it is apparently well past her calling-on-me day? Is she poorly? Did she call and I was not in and got upset? Had the appointment or something changed, and I had forgotten about it? Oh heck! When I get back from the Treatment room, Chemists, Lidl and the Blood Test, I’ll call into the Obergruppenfureres Warden Shed and ask if someone will be willing to help me by calling her and finding out for me. Then if no luck, I’ll have to do a quick search to get someone to do for me pretty soon, cause I can do without the pain from this as well, I bet it’ll be lousy today by the time I’ve hobbled to Carrington and back? The onyxis can get dangerous if left untreated. This being poked, pressed and squashed does the subungual no favours either.

I got the nibbles into the bag and sorted out the black bags of rubbish and recycling and took them to the chute. On returning to the flat, with time getting short, I popped my head in the wet room to make sure I’d not left any taps running, lights on or spots of blood missed when I cleaned up earlier. Checked the bin in the front room had a black bag in it. Computer off, no alarms ringing or flashing, and then into the kitchen to look at the taps, cooker etc… and blow me down, I had three bins in there instead of two, and I’d missed taking a sealed bag that needed to be chuted as if to speak. Hehe! For a second I thought I must be losing it quicker than I realised. Had the Aliens been at it again? I went back in the front room and comprehended what had happened. I’d put a new refuse black-bag on the chair, and it had fallen where the bin would usually be, hence, fooling this old twit into thinking the container was there when it wasn’t! I didn’t explain that very clearly, did I? Sorry.

Set off, hobbling as fast as things would let me, to avoid my being late for the first appointment. On Chestnut Walk outside the apartments, the puddle near the builders compound was frozen solid. But I have to say, the new jacket was keeping me nice and warm. Mind you, I was moving at a fair rate of knots, for me.

Down Winchester Street Hill, through some side-streets and out turning left onto Mansfield Road. Where a handily placed van was parked right across the pavement. As I took this photo, he had just started to reverse into the traffic solid main road illegally!

I bravely gave him a look of disdain as I waited for him to find a gap or be let in by some kind driver. In return, I got myself a curled lip and the popular amongst sign amongst road-rage perpetrators; suggestive that ‘I Go Forth and Multiply! Hehe!

Along and up and over the crest of the hill.

A right kerfuffle was taking place at the Mapperley Hall Drive junction. Cars trying to exit the Drive had blocked other traffic, and there had been bump connection between two vehicles.

I pressed on down the hill and into Carrington.

As the traffic started to move again, I arrived at the Surgery, straight in, with fifteen minutes to spare. Logged in with the receptionist, the one who has a perfect look of contempt on her face for me each time I go when she is on duty. She makes me want to apologise for bothering her. So compelling is her obviously trained look of unprovable haughtiness. I have to give her credit where its due. Personally, I think she ought to be dealing with the Brexit negotiations for us.

I got the crossword book out, and two minutes later, I was called into the treatment room.

Two nurses,  a doctor and five students greeted me on my entry to the place. I was asked; Am I alright with the presence of the students and the Trainee Home Health Nurse being present? “Of course, certainly, no problem”I replied; Not what I was thinking though! Apparently, I was going to have a Proctoscopy. No idea what one was… but I do now. Humph! Eurgh, shudder!

Knees up, on my side, rear end sprayed with something, scope and torch inserted and moved in every crevice, lump and pathway. I could hear the attractive, highly-desirable Doctor talking to the trainees as she went on her expedition.

Half an hour or so later, red-faced, I was feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable, the doctor handed me some cream to apply and told the others to leave. Then the gorgeous gal went on a machine for a minute or two. I have Stage Four haemorrhoids it seems. An appointment will be made for me at the City Hospital, but there is a long waiting list for banding or sclerotherapy operations at the moment. So I must keep using the cortisone cream whenever they are bleeding. Which this year so far, is all the time, only the degree varies. Electrotherapy (I think that was the word) is an alternative method of treatment and could be a better choice for me. She explained the procedure. Sounded rather like being Tasered up my bum. Haha!

A patient, kind sounding woman, that doctor. She got to the bottom of the problem. Hehehehehe! Sorry.

Out into the waiting room, got the crossword book out, but no time to do any, the nurse came to collect me for the blood test straight away. I’d not met this nurse before. She eyed me with a look of suspicion.

I explained about my accidentally throwing away the wrong part of the result sheet so I could not fill in the Q & A section. She didn’t seem too impressed with me at all. We went through it verbally. As she was putting the needle in, I remember thinking; “How much further is she going to delve into my arm? She left me holding the cotton wool firmly on the hole and went to add the details on her computer. She returned, and the wound was flowing with blood when she removed the cotton. She seemed concerned as to why it was taking so long to stop bleeding. I explained that this often happens. By now she was over time allowed for the blood taking, and I could see she was getting worried about keeping others waiting. I thanked her and departed, handing in the nibbles at the reception desk as I left.

With sincere regrets that Nurse Nichole had not seen me today, I lugubriously made my way down to the Carrington shops, over the road and into the Lidl store.

Where I got some seasoned sliced potatoes Sunstream vine tomatoes, Cox’s apples, Greek Lemon flavoured yoghourts, fresh orange juice, cheap chocolate bars an washing up liquid. Went to pay at the Self-Serve tills, but did not get on very very well. A Lidl bloke looked right pissed off, as he was permanently moving between customers who all seemed to be struggling to get the tills to swipe correctly. I used him once, and got down to the sliced potatoes that would not swipe, no matter what I tried. Of the six tills, five now had their red-light flashing for assistance. So I just left the packet on the side and paid for the consumables I’d already got to go through, then left.

I called at the Chemist and asked him when the next prescription will be due. 17th of this month. I wrote this down on the yoghourt packet in the hope that I will remember to record the date on the calendar later.

I thanked them and started the hobble back into Sherwood. Not so far to walk this time, as I hoped to catch an L9 bus in Sherwood back up the hill to the flats. According to Google Maps, when I got home made a plan of the route limped to and back from the surgery; My outward bound hobble was 1.8 miles, and the return limp was of 0.7 miles.

As I was passing Peugeot Dealership in Carrington, this Nottingham Pavement Cyclist didn’t slow down at all as he came to the illegally parked van on double yellow lines. He swerved around the vehicle going out into the road in one continuous movement without even looking. How the blue 4×4 missed hitting him, I don’t know.

I caught this cause I was getting ready to take a photo of the traffic, so had the camera handy.

Up the hill and down into Sherwood, and up the incline and called into the new bakery, to see if they had any small sourdough bread or cobs on sale. They were… and I’m not joking, selling the bread 800g, at £5 each! I retreated!

Across the pelican lights and into the Wilko store. They had some of my favourite Citrus Fresh Air Sprays on sale at half-price. So I got two of them, along with a fragrance booster and a bottle of liquid soap flakes. These are great for when I have to soak any bloodied clothing, very effective.

Up to the bus stop and waited. Penny and Roy joined the queue.

Arriving at Chestnut Walk, I went into the Wardens Hut to see if either of them could help with phoning Footlady Sue. Two unknown to me ladies were at the desk chinwagging. I asked them if anyone was in. “No!” came the reply. So that was that another plan foiled! Haha!

Got in the flat. Did the Health Checks and took the medications.

I took the pork from the crock-pot, cut it up into small pieces and put it in a saucepan. Added sliced onions, fresh chopped tomatoes, large soaked and boiled white beans, red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, distilled vinegar, tomato puree, basil and a pot of black bean sauce and gently simmered away for an hour or so. Got the thick triple-fried oven chips heating up.

A quick bash on Facebooking. Then WordPress Comments.

Time to get the fodder served up.

What a highly-palatable meal this was.

A deserved 9.45/10 rating for this effort.

Washed the pots and dishes up, then did the Health Checks and took the medications.

Changing into my night attire, I had a Dennis Dizzy spell at the exact time I didn’t need it. I was stood on one foot at the time, in the process of painfully extracting my left leg from the trousers. Ended up in what must have been a hilariously funny picture to behold. On my back after tumbling over, trousers half-on and half-off and legs up in the air, and I clouted the back of my head on the wall when I landed.  With blood trickling out from the Protection Pants. Even I had to smile to myself, partly because I had not seriously hurt myself, I expect. Tsk! Got the bleeding tended to, washed, got the new PPs on and jammies and returned to the kitchen, to get a mug of orange juice. Took some nits of the Lidl cheap chocolate bar with me.

Settled down in the £300 second-hand recliner and got the TV on. The Lidl chocolate bar lumps tasted horrible.

Fell asleep very quickly.

Inchcock Today, Sneezing Away! Mon 23 Nov 2015

Monday 23rd November 2015

Woke around 0315 hrs, sneezed myself awake and shivering! I didn’t think you could sneeze in yer sleep – I do now?

Feel so drained, but had to gerrup to go to the bathroom, in which I recalled some of the dreams I’d had, of course no pen in the bathroom so by the time I got, me business done and painfully cleaned up the dried clotted mess little Inchy was in, most of the recollections of the dream had gone into the ether. Remember a bit though.

Dream: I was back in the skyscraper buildings with battles going on all around as far as the eye could see, propeller driven fighter bombers similar to a De Havilland bombing, but with unknown markings, artillery fire, tanks soldiers... I don’t think I’ve had repeat dreams before, similar yes. In the bomb damaged and ravaged room I was in, I think Artillery sighting from, was part of an underground train?

Overall I was feeling a bit better this morning, not good, but better. I thought about what I had on today as I made a cuppa. Must have a bath this morning and good shave, cause last night I didn’t have either, I was so tired again.

Doctors 1000hrs for me INR Warfarin blood level tests, put the record card in me coat pocket and checked the bus-pass was there too while I thought of it. Seems an age since I’ve been out of the flat. Clinic at 1215hrs, and wondered as I now had some bread that has gone stale due to me not eating, if I could manage (weather permitting) to get to feed the ducks on the canal later? Oh, must get some bread as well.

The shakes seem to have gone, that’s another good thing this morning.

Laptop on and finished yesterdays diary.

Made another cuppa and took me medications.

Got me thick cardigan and ear-flap hat ready so as to wrap up nice and warm on me trip out. Thermal jumper, then a fleece, then me multi-pocketed sleeveless jacket, then me waterproof coat on top, and me ear-flapped hat of course.

Started this diary off and did the graphics, hard to concentrate again for some reason.

Flippin’ ‘eck, I just sneezed and I think I might have woke up me neighbours from several floors up and down! Hehe! Nearly fell out of me chair!

Started doing graphic in Coreldraw and got in a pickle with it. For some reason it had stopped me exporting and the layers moved on their own?

Gave up!

Did find a funny that appealed to me though, hope you like it folks:

01topj9c

Got the big bag and put me laundry into it ready for the morning when BJ lifts me to launderette. Did this now in case I fell asleep later when I got in like. Tsk!

Had a bath but didn’t get a good soak, too risky. Cleaned and medicated the needy parts of me anatomy: Knees, hands, rear-end and Little Inchy.

The odd sneeze, but they were getting less frequent now. Took the rubbish to the chute and got well clobbered up, ventured out to set off on me way into town and the clinic and possibly the canal if I have time to feed the ducks.

I called into the community shed and Deana and Obergruppenfurher Julie were both in. Told them about the temperature only being 55º F, and asked if someone could possibly call and explain properly how these storage heaters work for me please. Deana called someone then told me that someone was calling on Wednesday so make sure I was in all day.

01W01This meant I was a tad late setting off so I decided I’d need to catch a bus instead of walking all the way to the GP for me INR Warfarin level test.

Unfortunately, I stopped en route to take a photograph of the Allotments down the hill.

Walked on down Winchester Street hill 01W01amanaging to just miss the bus.

Plodded on up the hill.

On the way another of the infamous Nottingham Pavement Cyclists belted passed me from behind making me jump a bit.

I had me camera in me had from earlier 01W01bso managed to catch the little varmint on film.

It’s not as if it was busy with traffic was it?

If they are too scared to use the road, they shouldn’t be on a bike should they?

01W01cOver the hill and down into Carrington and into the GP surgery. Booked in and got me crossword book out.

The nurse called me and soon had me blood taken.

Out and waited for the specialist nurse to call me to have a look at me rear-end situation. After much prodding poking and digging she said things are the same and she was going to give it another few weeks before deciding if the strangulation procedure was needed. I left some nibbles for the gals when I gave them me request for some extra Codeine Phosphates.

0101acOut and aught the bus into town dropping off at Victoria Centre shopping mall, where some of the new buildings were now revealed ready to open later.

This one a new American noshery it seems, called Coast to Coast.

Possibly it’ll be another one where 0101abyou’ll need a mortgage to get a cup of coffee from?

Walked into the slab square where the Christmas stalls and rides were now trading, the Ice Rink was nearly ready to open.

As I walked down King Street a crowd of folk had gathered with what looked 0101alike stewards watching over them, then I spotted the Fire tender beyond them when I took the photo.

Transpired there had been a Fire Alarm somewhere in the Council House, where a wedding was taking place.

As I made me way to the clinic the Groom was returning to the registry 0101agoffice carrying his new bride with him!

Up to Angel Row and into the waiting area.

Presented me card and was ushered straight in? Never had that before!

This time I had new faces investigating me lesion on Little Inchy.

Much later when all the “Oohs and arghs” and hidden giggles suffered they said continue with the same cream. I told them I had none left – the tall woman said “Oh, we haven’t either… we’ll order some, it must be kept in the fridge you know this one? Told me to all back Friday when it should have arrived.

Feeling a bit sore from the prodding pulling and poking, I walked back to the slab-square. Decided the ducks will have to wait for their treats, due to me discomfort in me lower regions.

0101ad 0101ae

0101afThe stalls, food outlets and rides were all up and running now, but not many of the folk were showing much interest yet.

My knees were doing well today. Just as well, cause Little Inchy was giving me some stick after being examined in-depth. Hehe!.

I was soon on the L9 bus, timing was right for once to catch it.

Again somehow although I nodded of three or four times on the journey back, I woke in time to get off at the right bus-stop – but felt drained.

The rest of the day was wasted – nodding off, Cuppa, medications, WC, nodding off, WC, bite to eat, nodding off… you get the idea, I was kaput! Humph!

Inchcock Today Fri 2 Oct 15: Memory test – Whoopsiedangleplop!

Friday 2nd October 2015

Head Mon

Spent the night in the chair again dosing off and waking every few minutes – Tsk!

Forced missen to give up and rose to go to the porcelain around 0700hrs – late for me, but had so little sleep.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

I’d left the hearing aids soaking to de-coke the ear-pieces last night, so cleaned em and refitted the tube then put them in the drawer in me 1967 G-Plan cupboard where they should be, so as not to throw hem out with the rubbish of lose them again. (Another effort to train me failing memory)

Got the memory test at the doctors at noon today.

Spent a good while finishing yesterdays diary off and Facebooking. Too long really, but I enjoy it?

Got a bath and shave etc and the things ready I’ll need today on me trip out: Audio clinic record card, bus-pass, camera (I love this Panasonic Lumix camera), bank card, cash, keys, bus time-table me hat and some nibbles for the medical staff were all put in me bag or pockets.

Set off on me walk to the surgery. Met two residents as I left and we had a little chin-wag, by gum I like having these little chin-wags.

Hobbled to the surgery, well pleased with me timing when I arrived and told the bemused looking receptionist I’d come for me Memory Test. After a few minutes looking for  the appointment she realised it was for NEXT Friday not today! Whoopsiedangleplop number one of the day – Tsk!

I laughed it off, but inside I was getting a bit worried about yet another memory kerfuffle!

As I left the surgery I decided that i would go into town to try and get one of the really large rolls of paper towels that I saw advertised in the shop window at only £1.20 each, then have a run out on the bus to Derby to try and get some photographs of the mallards on the river Derwent.

P1020175Another Nottingham pavement cyclist was recorded on me camera as I arrived at the bus-stop.

Taking this photo I missed the approaching bus. Huh!

Got into town and walked to the shop that had the towels in the window. I found that the £1.2o price did not include VAT – making them £1.39 an you had had to buy a pack of 6 of em minimum. I could have used the six cause they looked good and useful, but I could not carry them. Tsk!

I wondered if this was going to be another bad day for all me plans?

Undaunted I limped down and through the City Centre onto Friar Lane to catch the Y5 bus that takes the scenic route to Derby. As I was reading the timetable to find that the bus left in seven minutes time – it pulled away making me feel a bit P1020176of a plonka! The next one was due in twenty minutes, so I had walk around town for a while.

Clinton Street had it’s usual crush of people, so I went the other way around to avoid getting delayed.

Back into the City slab-square I P1020177observed tow imitation policewomen nattering on the steps of the Council House as the chap in the foreground chased after two yoblets for some reason or other.

It didn’t disturb or stop them having their natter though.

Got back and on the bus to Derby. This one left on time – I’m thinking of writing to the company to congratulate the driver?

P1020178As we drove into the Beeston Bus-station i noticed a sign on the window of the Team Elite Kickboxing with the sign on the window informing us it was ‘The Family Business of the Year for 2015?

Continued the nice sunny run out to Derby. Looked in me bag for me crossword book and there it was gone?

P1020179Arrived in Derby and dropped off early to go down to the side of the river Derwent mallard searching.

I was so pleased with getting a rare shot of the pigeons on a broken tree branch near the bank. You just don’t expect to find pigeons posing like this do you.

P1020181Then I fed some seeds to the pigeons on the steps and got another decent shot in as they fought each other to get to the fodder. The ones on the branch stayed there and didn’t come for the seeds.

Very strange that I thought?

01topj7Someone further down the steps fed some bread to the water birds and I got this long distance photo of them arriving in a convoy to investigate the food.

Then I pondered about why else I had come to Derby – surely I wouldn’t have come just to take photos of the birds? I decided to have a nip around the Eagle Market then get back to Nottingham.

Making use of me free pensioners bus-pass today! Hehe!

Had a poddle around and saw some Amber I think they are, Bling and took a photo of them for the TFZ gals.P1020184

There is something about this type of jewellery I find attractive, maybe because they look old, aged?

I was going to get some photo’s of fashion clothes but had a dizzy spell, so I decided to make me way back to the bus-station.

01topj9Caught the Y5 bus again, this time back to Nottingham..

I can’t recall much of the journey as I spent most of in in the land of sleep like.

Luckily the driver was driving jerkily and slamming on his breaks very often, so I was awoken as we arrived in Nottingham.

Had wonder round when I realised I’d missed the last L9 back to the flats, to kill a few minutes until the 40 bus was due. This one drops off on Winchester Street and it’s only a few minutes walk to the flats from the bus stop on the hill. Mind you, getting across the road on the bend on the hill is life threatening!

When I returned to catch bus, I thought there was a football match on somewhere, but it was only the massive Queue for the bus. Huh!

P1020186Got on and managed to get the last seat in the Old foggy reserved ones.

Took a photo from the seat of the other passengers who had to stand crammed in like sardines.

I managed with difficulty not to fall asleep on the way back.

Two elderly ladies got off at the same bus-stop, and we all crossed the road together – but they never spoke to me. Huh!

They walked off after we’d crossed and they went into the Private senior Citizens Home at the end of the road.

Got missen in and to the porcelain sharpish.

Got into the kitchen to put the kettle on and there were six dirty great meat flies on the window? Took me a good while but I knobbled em in the end. I wondered how they were getting in, maybe through the hole in the wall behind the cupboards?

Changed into me layabout comfy togs and slippers.

Got me nosh in the pan –  Mild chilli, with potatoes and black bean sauce. For some reason I lost me appetite and turned it off?

Made me cuppa, and took me medications, laptop started.

Then had a look at the mail that had been delivered. Three for previous tenant Margaret and two, yes Two… fer me. Virgin Media trying to sell me summat called a Tivo, and Nottingham City Council telling me I am now on the voting list for this address.

Made another cuppa and updated this diary.

Getting dark earlier now.

Had look on the BBC news page on t’internet.  …. 14 year old plans to behead police officers – Syria being bombed and the Oregon massacre… as far as I got, depressed I went back to Facebooking.

Evening all.

Fri 15 May: Inchcock Today: Hectic and a Frustrating day!

Friday 15th May 2015

Woke up to find I’d nodded off with the laptop left on and me bent over it, the light on and a little disorientated.

Amazing but I could not remember dreaming at all last night.

I stirred and did me BP test:

Sys 163 – Dia 88 – Pulse 80 – Temp 32.3 Looks right to me, must remember to take the log with me when I go to see the Obergruppenführer Nurse this morning at the GP surgery for me INR level tests.

IMG_0210Took a photo of the gloomy sky when I went down to make a cuppa.

Noticed the notes I’d left to remind me what to do today: GP nurse INA 0915hrs – Take BP log, take nibbles – Go to Hospice shop with what I can carry there – Fetch medication from chemist – Fetch reading glasses from boots – Try to do some more clearing up – Nurse coming 1530hrs injection maybe? Call to see BJ. (I got two done)

Now all I have to do is lose the list. Hehe!

Onto the porcelain expecting another slow painful session- but it was alright this time.

Started to finish yesterday’s diary – Laptop mouse sticking a bit? Got it posted and started off this diary.

Coreldraw9 froze again when I was creating this header.

I sat here thinking (Dangerous that I know!) IF I get in this flat – what how do I need to get it right – Curtains, hard bed, fridge-freezer, carpets etc… I’ve got none of these things here, or they are so old and dilapidated they can’t be used again… then I thought: “Hang on mush, you ain’t got it yet, why punish yerself wiv worrying abarght it now?” Of course there was no one to answer me.

I wish sometimes my mind could be turned off to gimme some rest – but no doubt there are millions of proletariats just like wot I am thinking the same? Hey-ho!

Got another urgent call to the porcelain throne – boy have things changed quickly… the runs starting now! Bogglesplonkunblow!

Got missen titivated and set of to the GP surgery with all me gear needed.

I was soon with the nurse – having to explain everything again. She was busy and said she was only allotted a few minutes for each patient, not nasty like, nicely.

Felt guilty asking her about me painful but not seen boil on me bum, she had a quick look and couldn’t see any boil?

Then asked to have a quick look at me BP log reading, she said a few high but others okay.

Then she took me INR blood test and recorded various details on the computer.

Then she gave me the injection into me ticker.

She seemed in a good mood when I left, despite patients waiting to see her being held up my me.

IMG_0212I walked to the chemist to collect me monthly prescriptions, but they weren’t ready. Call back in late afternoon he said. Summat else to forget there!

I’d hoped to get to the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop with some bags but decided I’d never do that and collect me Prescriptions in time to get back in time for the nurses visit.

So I set off on me walk into the City Centre to visit the EE shop for guidance on me ‘orrible new mobile phone and collect me new spectacles. (Yes I lost the IMG_0213other pair!)

The usual collection of Nottingham Pavement Cyclist en-route.

At least this ‘erbert didn’t go over against the lights.

A bit further on there was an altercation going on outside one of the ’24 hour Continental Shop’ – I kept wobbling on not wanting to get involved like, there was a good few fellers involved so no photographicalisationing there.

IMG_0214I know when not to get involved and this looked like such a situation.

I saw the police vehicles with blues and twos going as they passed me on the way to the incident.

I poddled on through Milton Street and across into Clumber Street and down to the EE shop.

Being earlyish there was no customers in IMG_0216the shop and I approached the ankle-snapper assistant who actually yawned when he greeted me.

I asked him if he could show me how to store numbers in the phone and he toyed with it for a few minutes then said – you don’t do it on contacts on this phone (Which he’d just learnt by trying to do so and failed)

He then went through the People option, so quick I had to ask him to do it again so I could write it down. what I ended up with was Press Phone – People – Plus sign – Microsoft account – Type -Disc sign… very helpful… I’ll try it when I get time.

I then asked him how I changed the ring tone and made it louder – his fingers flashed, beeps beeped and within seconds he’s handed it back to be saying “Done that, anything else I can help you with?” as he looked at the ceiling?

I thanked him and got the standard half-hearted “Have a good day” from him. Not the choice of words I fancied that he wanted to say like.

IMG_0217As I walked through the City Centre to go to Boots Opticians I spotted these mannequins in a shop window with the writing: ‘The Groom Goes Free’ – there are some who would not agree with that methinks Hehe.

So up passed the Tram Stop and up to the top of Friar Lane and into Boots Opticians shop.

The spectacles were not ready. (Well fancy that I thought)

IMG_0223I thought I’d taken a photograph of the new stalls appearing in the slab square as I crossed it on me way to Trinity Square.

I hadn’t.

It was supposed to be of the Ostrich steak thingy… this is what I actually took? – Tsk, Twit!

IMG_0220Up to Trinity Square and took a photograph of the upmarket very expensive massive new Harvest Restaurant – you can see how popular it is with the Nottinghomians massed eating al-fresco can’t you?

And this was lunchtime on a Friday too.

IMG_0224Fed the pigeons some seed and meal-worms.

Then wandered painfully down Trinity Walk towards the bus-stop.

The feet and knees had joined the mystery boil in giving me some pain now.

IMG_0219Around the corner and more Nottingham Pavement Cyclist, bless em.

I decided to divert and call at Tesco in the Victoria centre to get some bread, tomatoes and apples while I was in town.

I got a call on the phone but the sunlight prevented me seeing the answer button and it stopped before I could find it. I had a look when I got inside the centre but couldn’t tell which one it was that I’d missed – eventually I found two missed calls with no number to ring back on – Tsk!

IMG_0225Into Tesco.

Came out with me tomatoes and Cox’s apples and a Cheese and Caramelised Tear and Share bread? Looked good to me, and it was £1 on offer.

It’s a complete mystery to me how those two fresh cream strawberry Jam doughnuts could possibly have found there way into me shopping bag!

An total enigma, conundrum and puzzle that is. WWarnLie

IMG_0215Managed to avoid this Pavement Cyclistess who actually made a beeline towards me after I’d taken the photograph!

In ever increasing pains from me bum-boil and feet I made me way to the bus-stop and caught one back to Carrington and the flea-pit.

As I walked down the street to the house, a chap loading his van informed me that two nurses had called to see me and were concerned I wasn’t in. I thanked him.

Realising they must have been me missed call. They had left landline contact numbers yesterday so I called on day time one – engaged, so I made a cuppa and put me things away and tried again – engaged.

Call to the porcelain answered.

I started to update this diary and then tried calling them again and got through. They were not sure if I needed another Anoxiparin injection and I explained I’d had one this morning got at the GP, and I was not in because they told me you would arrive at 1500hrs? She said to wait in near the phone in case they call me with the result of today’s test from the hospital, then we’d know, and to give them a call at 1500hrs either way.

I did mention earlier that’s it getting confusing didn’t I? Haha!

An hour later it got even more confusing!

0501I got me Anticoagulant Therapy result back through the door at 1230hrs! How they did that so quickly I don’t know! It usually takes 1/2 days – it must be serious this time eh! – Tsk! It says to start Enoxaparin shots and to take 3 Warfarin for 3 days then follow the guide on the form.

Then I saw the date… it was for the tests earlier not this morning’s, it said my next Test Date was today… really confusing now innit?

The lid on me new cheapo Asda flask broke so I’d used me expensive one like. But it didn’t keep me tea warm?

Hey-ho!

I rang the District Nurse as instructed. I told her about the Coagulation result form coming back on the same number I rang earlier. Of course I didn’t get the nurse I got a receptionist – so, as me call allowance on the phone dwindled I had to explain things again and got put through to another nurse – explained things to her. She said she would make arrangements for a night nurse to call around 8 to 10 o’clock and give me the injection but if I get the results from the QMC and I did not need them, ring back and let them know ASAP.

I usually get me head down early to avoid seeing the yobboes.

Great!

IMG_0227I made sure me phone was in me pocket in case the QMC rang me with the results and made me way to the chemist to try once again to get me monthly prescription medications, what a day of failed futilities! Hehe!

Set off down to the chemists, the kids were coming out of school – not that that stops any Nottingham Pavement Cyclists from belting passed the school gates. He was In the distance before I got me camera out but he’s there, the Git!

IMG_0228Through the twitchell and as I turned right into Mansfield Road – another unthinking Nottingham Pavement Cyclist caught on camera.

This time an idiot in High School uniform with a Scooterist in tow with him.

Down to the Chemist and asked about me monthly medications – they told me it was the remainder of the Exonaparin syringes that had arrived that they were short of on IMG_0230me prescription for them yesterday. Well that’s put the pan in the fire with the District Nurses, who had naturally thought that because they had seven syringes had arranged for 7 to be given – now we find they’re two more, now I’ve got go through all that explaining on the phone again… That is if me call-credit doesn’t run out first! Huh!

Said me farewells after giving them some nibbles and thanking them and popped into the Co-op to see if they had any pickled beetroots in.

They hadn’t, not that that stopped old spendy-boy here from spending. They had some Cheese and caramelised onion scones and some packs of mixed leaf greens… I weakened again.

IMG_0231Got back to the tip and made me healthy nosh fer the night:

Petit Pois, cheese & onion scones, lettuce, seaweed, tomatoes, cheese and caramelised onion bread, sweet pork loin and followed that by having one of the amazing jump-in-the-bag-on-their-own-accord Tesco Fresh Cream Strawberry doughnuts.

Oh, and a Cox’s Apple.

And very enjoyable it was too – shame about no beetroot but there yer go.

An even bigger shame that I haven’t got any sorting out done – feel bad about that – but now, after a day of frustration and failure I am fully fatigued. But I’ve still got to go on and wait for the night nurse to come later, I’m drained but dare not go to sleep for fear of missing her.

Mind you, I don’t know if I should be having another injection or not yet?

I haven’t heard anything from the hospital Anticoagulation Therapy people – maybe I ought to ring the GP surgery before it closes and see if they have been informed… yes I will…hang on a moment please…

Well, I called them and they do not know either.

She said she would ring me back.

As I said earlier, Hey-ho! What a day.

So tired-out now… waiting, hoping to get the promised call back…

Did some Facebooking…

Read a bit of me D-Day book…

Did some more Facebooking…

Picking my nose now…

Going on YouTube to watch a film, no, no good can’t hear it on this laptop and dare not use the headphones for fear of missing a call from the GP or nurse. Tsk!

Trying a game of Tetris now as I continue to wait…

Fed up now.

Scratched me bum and started me blind-boil stinging. Huh!

Made a cuppa.

Want to go to the porcelain but dare not in case I miss the nurse.

Went on BBC news site.

Feeling frustrated now and nervous.

Over five hours waiting for the promised return call from GP receptionist – hopes of getting one about nil now.

Nowt from the nurse either – checked that the mobile was on, it is.

Getting irritable now.

Getting really dark now.

Did some WordPress reading.

Aha… after just seven hours the nurse does cometh…

I explained the bother and failure I’d had in trying to find what my INR level tests from this morning were and if I needed the Anoxaparin injections still.

I was told in no uncertain terms that “Your having them anyway, cause it’s down on my sheet, two a day until Monday, now lift yer shirt up…”

Fair enough, I lifted up me shirt.

She did me and filled in the sheet and was off.

0501Tired and now depressed I was turning everything off and remembered I hadn’t eaten me cream cakes.

So I got upstairs and did! Hehehe!

Naughty but nice!

I started the laptop to finish this diary and get it posted – and the thing wouldn’t boot first time – turned her off and tried again and it took ages for it to load eventually – oh dear, hope it’s going to be alright next time.

Well, one of me most frustrating days for yonks is coming to a close – thank gawd for that!

Now I don’t feel tired! Gnash!
