Inchcock Today – Wednesday 25th April 2018

Dutch: Woensdag 25 April 2018

0350hrs: I woke and immediately became a touch dispirited when I realised that the ailments were back! Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, Arthur Itis and Little Inchies Fungal lesion had been bleeding. However, thanks to the PPs, this did not ruin another pair of jammie-bottoms. Although the leaking must have been on and off, cause there was a good mixture of fresh and congealed ichor that needed softening to remove. Tsk-Tsk!

Out of the £300 second-hand recliner without too much hassle, and off to the wet room to sort things out. Not a pleasant job, but it had to be done.

A degree of disconcertment, fretfulness, self-criticism and unwarranted (as far as I could see, anyway) nervousness lingered.

I confirmed the time of the blood-test, 1145hrs. Shame that cause afterwards it being so late for me, I won’t have time or energy to get owt else done.

3Wed03To the kitchen to get the Health Checks done.

This reminded me of the plates on the tray in the front room. So I collected them and got the washing up done first.

I turned the light off and took this picture; I have no idea why I did this… ah, I might have been trying to get a ‘Moody Photo’ using the light from the chaps above front room light.

Reflux Roger joined with Duodenal Donald in giving me a fair bit of hassle. My having been almost free of anguish from these two ailments for a few days now, seemed to make their return worse than they may have been.

Made a brew and got the HC’s done. Sys and pulse seem to be reluctant to stop falling?

3Wed01

Got the nibbles sorted and into the bag for the nurses. Then remembered to put the Haematology DVT Record in the jacket pocket, to avoid those frightening blood-curdling stares of contempt I get from them when I forget to fill it in and take it with me to the surgery. Hehehe!

The computer started, Virgin Internet was working (No, no, honestly, it was! Haha!), and I began to finalise yesterday’s Inchcock Today. With a few interruptions for a wee-wee.

3Wed05Started on creating this blog up to here, and went to have a wee-wee, then made a brew of tea and back to the computer:

3Wed00b1

I was placing the mug of tea on the pad next to the computer when I had a visit from Shaking Shaun! Just at the wrong moment.

What a mess I made.

3Wed04Panic Mode adopted. The telephone and keyboard had suffered most. The worst was the stains the tea made to the cabinet top wood.

The notepads got drenched, I’ll see if they can dry out any, and try to retrieve the passwords and reminder notes on it.

The time spent trying to sort it out, seemed to go by quickly?

I was now exasperated and irked by this happening. Selfish-thoughts ran through my mind; Why should it be me who gets these shakes? Why should I always get them at the most inappropriate times? etc…. Then, as if life was trying to mock me, I felt the blood flowing from the lesion! I assumed this was caused by my bending down to clean up the cabinet after the spillage, so, it should have been expected; and began feeling guilty about being momentarily sorry for myself. Even when Anne Gyna started to kick-off!

Off to the wet room and cleaned up and medicated things. Nebach!

Back to the computer again. Flipping heck, I’m sneezing away like a good un now. Humph!

I’m not feeling at all well now. Haha!

I went to the WordPress Reader page. Then the comments section.

Went to make another mug of tea. Then got the ablutions tended to. Black bags, I sorted and took to the waste chute.

3Wed06Off out on the hobble to Carrington and the blood test.

Blimey, it was windy when I reached the end of Chestnut Walk.

All the same, I noticed how lovely the sky looked and turned to take a shot of the complex with the Warden/Social shed showing on the left.

Walking down Winchester Road hill, the wind seemed to get worse.

3Wed07As I reached the bottom and moved onto Mansfield Road, the heavens opened up and down came the rain. With the wind, it nearly blew my umbrella inside out.

As sudden as the rain started, it then stopped about two minutes later?

I pressed on up the slow incline with Anne Gyna being troublesome for the first time in days, now.

3Wed08When I got over the crest of the hill, the sunshine came out, and the winds seemed to slacken off.

This little Nikon camera is not as good as the Lumix that has broken down on me, and it is too small to get a good grip on to take decent steady shots. Never mind!

I hobbled down to the Sherrington Surgery, got in and reported to the Obergruppenfurheress Receptionist, who mentioned that I was later than usual. I explained that this was the time given me in the email, and I was not 3Wed10too pleased with it either, the day for me will over and done in a couple of hours now. She seemed genuinely concerned and said she would leave a note for the others to remind them that I prefer an early-as-possible appointment. I thanked her and sat down to get the crossword book out. Had a bit of success with it this time, and actually got a couple of them finished. There are many crosswords part-finished in the book where I got stuck, and I give these another attempt regularly, it was two of these that needed only two more answers each that I did. (Smug-Mode adopted. Hehe!)

Nurse Nichole came out to collect me. My heart warmed when I realised it was she who was seeing to me. We had problems with stopping the bleeding afterwards, more than we have ever had. This indicated to me that the Warfarin level will be well-high when I get the results later in the morning.

We managed to have a laugh and tell a tale or two all the same. Nurse Nichole had to put on a lot of plaster on the arm afterwards. Gave her the nibbles, a sad farewell and I dropped the bites off for the receptionists on the way out.

I departed and walked down to the Lidl Concentration Camp to get some tomatoes. I spotted they had some ready meals, Sweet & Sour Pork in Sauce with egg fried rice, and bought one, thinking they will make a nice change. I flicked through the flavours on offer to get one with the most extended date on it. Along with a Melton Mowbray pork pie, I made my way to the self-serve tills. Where, instead of being ignored and sneered at as I usually am, a young assistant approached me and offered to put the things through for me! This action didn’t exactly make me frailech, but it shook me up a bit. Obviously, a new starter with Lidl. I imagine that in a week or so, he will have learnt and would be using the regular Lidl staffs, nose-in-the-air attitude, scowling, sneering and ignoring customers to his heart’s content. It can’t last. But a shrewd move, cause I just have to go back again soon, to see if he’ll offer customer service to me next time. For the regular staff at this shop: Customer service is the process of helping people find what they want during the entire transaction cycle. Making customers feel valued. Customer service is the degree to which a product fails to meet, meets or exceeds customer’s expectations. It defines the customer’s perception of the service and interaction within the company. It is evident that Lidl does not explain this, I wonder if they even mention it?

Out and caught a bus back to Sherwood. At the L9 bus stop, I met Margaret from Winchester Court. Her hubby was not so well today, a grand chap too. IF he can get to the Social Hour tomorrow, I’ll try to give him a bit of extra chatter and nibbles, which he gives to his grandkids. They have cancelled their holidays and struggling to get a fair refund. We nattered away en route to the flats.

3Wed113Wed00b1 I got in the apartment and did the Health Checks.

The rain cameth down again.

And I then realised that somehow or other, I had not taken the morning doses of the medications! (Possibly due to the return of the morning ailments?) Oy Vey! This cock-up, caused me some concern, as it forced me to make a decision. Haha! What medications are safe to take, what must not be considered? Luckily it did not involve any Warfarin, the yare only taken with the (third) evenings dosages.

The  Trental tablets are in all three, daily. And invaluable they are in helping the blood flow to the extremities. When they increased the dosages of this pink tablet, I seemed to get about on my walks with less bother. I looked up about these: Pentoxifylline can decrease the muscle aching/pains/cramps during exercise, including walking; They were spot on there, with me at least. I’m waffling again aren’t I, sorry. After thinking about it, I just took one of each of the following; naproxen, Bisoprolol Fumarate, Codeine 30g and an Omeprazole. No idea if I did right or wrong. Fingers crossed.

3Wed15I noticed on the record card log notes that the doctors considered a different beta-blocker for me some years ago. No name is given to it that I could find. Anyway, this prompted me to look up the side-effects of Bisoprolol Fumarate. Tiredness, drowsiness, slow heartbeat, lightheadedness, dizziness, spinning sensation, dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, increased urination, runny or stuffy nose, ringing in your ears, weakness, sleep problems (insomnia), depression, anxiety, restless feeling, joint or muscle pain, itching or skin rash, loss of interest in sex, nausea or vomiting.

The last two on the list, are the only side effects I know I have not got. Most likely I have all the others. Well, that could explain a few of my ailments and odd variable Health Check readings from the sphygmomanometer! Hahaha! Hello, I’m off prevaricating again! Tsk!

3Wed143Wed00b1 I then decided to have a can of the bean and pork stew with the sweet and sour meal. I got the meal in the oven and tipped the casserole into the saucepan… then! It dawned on this feeble-brained Schmo, the ready-meal I’d bought was not sweet and sour pork, but black beans sauce and beef! Had to dish the original meal.

Ended up making a pan of bean stew, added 3Wed12asome pork and did some chips to go with it. Sorry about this photo, but the shakes came on.

3Wed00b1 I took off the covering that the Nurse put on the arm. Not a pretty sight.

I thought I could hear gurgling noises coming from somewhere, but where they were emanating from beat me.

I took me a long while to discover the source of the odd sound.

3Wed00b1Eventually, I realised I’d left the power on to the shower, and it was trying to force down water that was not there. Humph! Turned it off.

3Wed16Got the nosh served up. After all the Whoopsies in the process of making this dinner, I ended up with Polish Pork Knuckle in a bean stew with s few chips.

Absolutely gorgeous sweet and sour sauce added!

Rated this one a 9.4/10.

Washed the pots and settled in the £300 second-hand recliner, feeling certain I would soon nod-off. But Morpheus did not come. So I put on the TV, and still no kip!

In fact, I watched the moronic TV programmes for about three hours before I drifted off into slumber. How I wish I could do this when I wanted to!

Evening all, please, have a great day.

Inchcock Today – Tuesday 24th April 2018: Profound philosophical, cogitative meanderings brooded on and agonised over on waking up? Tsk!

Tuesday 24th April 2018

Africaans: Dinsdag 24 April 2018

0325hrs: Woke up, after some gentle pandiculating, the brain caught up with the body and semi-activated into a weak mirroring of life mode. There followed a period of uhtceare, during which many things were fretted-over, reviewed, contemplated about, gauged, prioritised and then neglected.

Whoosie3W01 Why the brain bothers with these itinerant, migratory, peripatetic, confusing inner-ramblings, I don’t know. I wish it would pack in these on waking-up unproductive, mind-2Tue03meandering sessions. Nothing positive ever comes out of them anyway. They just leave me with more things I’d forgotten I was worrying over coming-back-to-me incidents into my mind, to join the new day’s enigmas and start fretting about them all over again! Old alter kockerI am!

I often think I don’t fit-in. Perhaps, I was an alien who committed awful crimes, and as a punishment, I was born again on earth?

2Tue02adOut of the £300 second-hand recliner, the body being so kind to me this morning. No trouble or hassle from Hippy Hilda, Harry Hernia, or Anne Gyna. Duodenal Donald was the ailment offering any bother, and that was not too bad, either.

Off into the kitchen to do the Health Checks and take the medications.

2Tue02ab

2Tue01The haematometer operated first try.

The Sys was down again, and the pulse dropped to its lowest-ever at 79 being recorded. Still, I feel alright in myself. (Obviously, I do not include my contorted mind in this assessment), Hehe!

Before I could take the medications, the need for the immediate and somewhat urgent 2Tue04utilisation of the Porcelain Throne arrived.

Another messy evacuation, however, so no complaints again.

The knock the kind lady on the bus gave me yesterday on my left shin with her lethal four-wheeled shopping trolley has turned a shade of purple/pink now. Hehe!

2Tue02fBack to the kitchen and took the medications with water, then made a mug of tea.

I took a photo out of the small gap in the kitchen window with the tiny old Nikon camera. It came out looking rather seraphic to me. I was pretty impressed with the resulting effort.

Then I took a photo of each camera with the other camera of course. To show the difference in there sizes initially.

2Tue05

I’m afraid it also showed up the difference in their finished photography. The old little Nikon camera is also so small in size compared to the other one, it is hard to hold steady to take a shot sometimes. However, 2Tue08aunless I invest in a new camera, I’ll have to use the old one when I am out and about for the time being. Why do you ask (Or probably you didn’t Hehehe!).

The new one is too large for me to feel comfortable with photographing in town. I remember the old Sony one, it was about the same size, and I had some youths try to steal it from me one morning on Lincoln Street of 1Mon10Clinton Street West in Nottingham City Centre.

This view of the front of the flats came out alrightish on the little camera.

0430hrs: I set about updating yesterday’s diary. This took me until gone 0800hrs. This being due to the extraordinary amount of photographs that needed sorting, and Brother-in-law Pete had emailed me those he’d taken at the St George’s Parade as well; they all had to resized converted before being made into a Carousel for displaying.

Then I emailed the shots I’d managed to take back to Pete. Next job, I got on with making this post up. I got sidetracked a while when I read the sad, disheartening news about the Canadian massacre.

Went to Facebooking. Put on some photos on to the galleries and made a few comments.

On CorelDraw to make up some draughts. Cost a few hours, but created a good few to go with the couple done the other day. Got them stored for later use.

2Tue08aBefore I uploaded them, I went to make another brew.

The weather had turned to rain. Not had any for three days, I’d missed this precipitation. Of course, it will most likely settle-in for tomorrow as well. Bound to really, I’ve got to walk into Carrington to get to the surgery for the blood test, haven’t I. Humph!

2Tue11A klog iz mir! Then the rain seemed to lighten up a little.

So I went into the spare room to see how it looked out there, but it wasn’t too encouraging, I must say.

Back on the computer with the brew and…Oh, Marvellous!

2Tue12a

I Thought I was Doing Too Well Today!

It returned after a lot of abusive and insulting words were quietly-muttered underneath my breath.

Getting on now. I opened a tin of tomatoes.. what am I saying? I meant potatoes, seasoned them with vinegar and onion salt and put them on low in a saucepan. Heated the oven ready for the Kristadellens later.

2Tue14I got back to getting the draught graphics done up. Two hours late I got them completed. Phew!

The rain had started falling again, filling the cleaning out the holes in the balcony support ledges.

Got on with getting the meal sorted. Too tired for words now. (Poor Orehman and losing logic and sanity a bit quicker. Humph!)

2Tue15aThe meal was so enjoyable tonight (Well, late afternoon).

Did the health checks, got a mug of orange juice and settled into the £300 second-hand recliner and worried fretted and failed to make any decisions about anything, then nodded off.

Whoosie3W01 Woke up in a lather about something or other, and lay there trying to sort out what it was.

2Tue16Had a wee-wee, and looked out of the window at the lights.

Everyone betokening another tellurian life form, with their own problems. I thought, if these fears and worries were visible, they would cover the skies and most likely choke us all to death. Then I wondered why I thought this in the first place?

I tried putting the TV on in the hope that this would do its usual job and send me off to sleep. But, tonight it was not working, and I stayed awake with the headphones on for hours, half-watching some real rubbish on the box, without the will-power to press one little button on the remote to free myself from this banality.

Whoosie3W01 I eventually nodded off. Only to shoot awake later, headphones off of the head, signs of nocturnal nibbling (Crumbs) laying suspiciously and guiltily on my bulging flabby stomach and unreadable scribbling on the notepad.

Whoosie3W01 I got up for a wee-wee, went into the kitchen, moving in almost robot style, and went to wash the pots that I thought I’d left soaking in the bowl, but they were not there. Back to the front room, and the tray with the empty plate and cutlery was on the chair next to the recliner.

Tsk!

Winwood Heights Upgrading Progress – The truth! Humph!

The upgrading of the two 1964 built blocks, Winchester and Woodthorpe Court, and the new Extra-Care block being constructed between the current ones. I just could not help to do a graphic, and put it under (below) the bit I clipped from the NCH page, for a laugh!

I just had to release my frustrations with a giggle-graphic. Haha!

It’s no good them suing me!

I’m nearly broke.

On the bink of snuffing it.

Most of it is true anyway!

I enjoyed making this graphic so much.

Hehehe!

This is how things were this week in my apartment after works had taken place:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Without Jenny’s help, I’d have been in a pickle, cause no one else was showing any interest much in my problems.

It will be months yet until it is all done.

So much more mayhem to get through, yet!

So much for the quiet relaxing old age life!

Inchcock Today – Thursday 29th March 2018: A mixed day, that ended badly. Tsk!

Thursday 29th March 2018

Serbian: Четвртак 29. Март 2018

0315hrs: I been laying there in the £300 second-hand recliner for about an hour. Half-awake, half-asleep, with the mind stewing, brewing, fretting, worrying and waiting for the brain and body to amalgamate into some form of a controllable unit.

The brain informed me that I was thirsty and fancied a mug of strong flavoured tea. The moment I moved my blubbery body to escape 04Thur01the recliner, my insides erupted. Duodenal Donald’s attack, caught me off-guard.

Off to the kitchen to make a brew. I took this close-up photo of the morning view of the residential locale.

I made the brew, took the medications and took a good swig of the chimerically ineffective antacid medicine. The rumbling from the innards continued.

Did the Health Checks.

04Thur03

Updated the Wednesday diary, and got it posted. Visited the WordPress Reader site.

Made a start on this one. Remembered that the food delivery was coming twixt 0630 > 0730 hours. So limped to the wet room to do the ablutions and change into the day clothes.

All refreshed, invigorated (Might be pushing it a bit using these words, Hehe!), and smelling nice, now.

Made up the nibble box and put it in the bag with the raffle prizes and cream cakes.

The Morrison van due anytime now, a made another cuppa and did a search for suitable graphics to amend to use as page tops.

04Thur04Ten minutes later the chap arrived with the groceries.

He kindly lugged them into the kitchen for me and was amazed at the mess left from the working installation fitting of the windows.

A grand bloke he was.

I got the things that were delivered stored away. Sacré bleu, had I gone potty and lost the plot with my ordering the fodder again!

04Thur05

04Thur07And besides this lot in the pictures, there was stuff I’d already put away in the fridge, including three more Cumberland Pies. Oh, and for some unfathomable reason, I’d ordered more potato pancakes, and 3 packs of three kitchen towels!

There were some things I could just not remember ordering in there.

04Thur12xWDP001 I had to take some things out of the freezer and dish them, to make room for the Brobdingnagian bag of chips.

I think I’ll take one of the ready meals to give as a raffle prize with the other stuff with me later, to the Winwood Social Shed Hour at the Temporary Obergruppenfureress Warden’s shed.

Back on the computer to update this post. Then I did a bit of prep work on the first of the Page Top Header graphics on CorelDraw and CorelPhotopaint.

An hour or so later, I got the bag and set off out to the Social Hour.

04Thur12x2I ambled out and along Chestnut Walk to the shed. Entered and went in to talk to Obergruppenfhureress Warden Deana in her little HQ room. Had a laugh and while I was doing this, the mobile phone burst into life. T’was the Sherrington Park Surgery receptionist.

Who gave me the week’s dosages for the Warfarin, and made the next appointment. Deana gave me a Stick-it note page to write them down on. Which I did. Then I stuck the note inside the Crossword Book cover to remember to write them down on the diaries later.

She also told me that Dr Vindla (With the twinkling eyes that drive a man crazy!) had put some Haemorrhoid cream through to the dentist, and I can collect them today. I thanked her.

A lady appeared who wanted to talk to Deana, so I withdrew, leaving the sourdough bread.

Into the central hall area, to find only around fifteen tenants in attendance. I offered my greetings openly to them all. Cindie and Jenny replied. Ah, well! I sought out Jenny, to hand her the two fresh-cream scones I’d got for her from Morrisons. She was reluctant to take them from me unless I allowed her to pay for them. But I genuinely did not know what they cost.

Welsh Bill was feeling a lot better today and distributed a sarky, put-down and a direct insult in my direction. So glad he was getting back to his usual mode.

Cindie was in fine form. She led the gang in singing for a ladies happy-birthday song.

BBJ was his usual sneering, superior snotty self.

I put the readymade meal in the fridge and explained to raffle-organiser Frank, what I had done.

I got seated next to Bill (William on Sundays) and Lucky Pete. (He won about six raffle prizes again today). Good for him. They helped me with the crossword this week, but they were not as good as the pair are normal. Hehe!

Although few of us there, we all, (Apart from BBJ, but you can never tell with him, he never smile, but does occasionally give out a worrying sneer) seemed to enjoy ourselves.

I made sure I gave them all a cheery farewell, and four of them replied. Not BBJ, of 04Thur14course.

I set out on my walk down to Sherwood, to catch a bus into Carrington and call at the Pharmacy.

At the corner of Chestnut Walk and Winchester Street, I held the camera over the top of one of the fences and blindly took a photograph, not knowing at the time how it would come out or what would be in it.

Turned out a decentish picture, I thought. A little further down the hill, I took a snap near the bend in the road – then tried to hold the camera in a steady grip and same position, and zoomed into the cloud formations near the centre of the photograph, and took another one.

04Thur19

This formation type I think, (I looked them up on the internet), are called Mammatus. Similar to the last nights.

Plodded down the hill to Mansfield Road and caught a bus for the four stops, and dropped off in Carrington. Cor blimey, I love my free pensioners bus-pass!

04Thur17Waddled over the pelican-crossing and down to the Carrington Pharmacy.

It was so sad to see that a row of six retailers, had all closed-down now. Although I wasn’t exactly surprised, with there being not a soul in sight! But it did leave in a eulogistical mood.

A new chap served me today, he seemed patient with me. His facial features reminded me of the owner, the helpful Deepak. He got the extra haemorrhoid cream prescription for me. I inquired when the monthly ones would be ready for me to collect. He unabatingly looked this up on his computer for me and advised me that it would be available for collection on Friday, April 6th. I thanked him and wrote this date down on the packet of the ointment, so I could add this to the diaries when I get home. Confident I would not forget this time! Oy vey?

WDP001 I thanked him and left, going to the bus stop to wait for a free bus-ride back into Sherwood.  The vehicle was well packed with passengers. I had to use one of the low down, side-saddle seats. Which caused me some difficulty in getting back up perpendicular again, Hehe!
Howbeit, the driver, was very patient with waiting for me to get up to get off the bus.

Crossed the road and up the hill to the L9 bus stop. Where Roy from the flats was waiting. We had a laugh and chinwag or two. When we got on the bus, there was Mary on her way home, with a large plastic storage bin. The driver was the lovely lady again. I slipped her a Wagon Wheel, I know she likes them.

Up at the flats again, and I asked Mary as we walked along Chestnut Walk if I could help her with carrying the plastic bin. No, she said no, it’s dead-light. We had a natter and parted when she got off on the 7th floor.

Into the apartment and had a wee-wee. Put the cream away in the wet room.

Got the computer on and added the dates to the Google Calendar and the written diary for the next appointment for a blood test and the prescription pick-up day.

Started to update this post. Three hours later, I got up to here on this dairy.

Got the oven on heating up, and the cheese put onto the potato cakes. I hope to keep a keener eye these this time, and not let them burn! Got the mushrooms sliced and in the saucepan simmering with fish sauce and wine vinegar added to the water. Fingers crossed they taste alright.

04Thur21I took this photograph out of the window in the flat.

Although I thought it was a decentish outcome as it turned out, some bits of it made me recall what is yet to come in the upgrading work. How I made some of the links is uncertain:

The foam sticking out of the unfinished outer window frame: Made me think of the balcony window frame, with its massive holes and the inside of the outer wall revealing its pebble filled contents. The dust, the noise of the work, the curtains ruined and not rehung.

The holes in the kitchen floor and wall they left me with after they installed the heater too close to the cabinet and drawer and I could not open or use them, and they moved the heater.

Those horrible window ledges outside that now prevent me from taking pictures of the roadway below.

The cranes, reminding me of the new block of a brand new extra care apartments and facilities being built for the new tenants, with a rooftop relaxation area.

My EQ told me things will not go well.

The fretting over wondering if I will live long enough to see the project completed. We’ve lost a lot of residents since the works began.

Did the Health Checks and had a wee-wee.

I regained some degree of sanity and got the pan in the oven and stayed in there watching the fodder cook.

WDP001 Checking the cheese covered potato scones, and my hand came out of the oven with some melted cheese stuck to the fingertip. Digit under the cold tap dried it, and Germolene applied.

04Thur20Got the meal on the tin plate, added two buttered slices of the Lancashire Thorough Bread and a pot of the Lemon Mousse.

My eyes bigger than my belly: so didn’t eat it all. But I enjoyed what I did consume. Felt a bit guilty about putting too much butter on the bread.

I went into the kitchen to wash the pots and 04Thur22realised I’d left the plate and tray on the Ottoman in the other room.

I watched as the cars below with their lights on in the drizzle made their way home. For a while, this prompted a touch of self-pity that I can no longer legally drive a vehicle. This lasted only a few seconds.

Had a wee-wee, changed into the night-attire and got down on the £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV.

WDP001 04Thur23As I lay there waiting for sleep to arrive and take over my thoughts, I felt my legs were so cold.

Then realised what a schlemiel I was, and felt a right Bozzo. I’d gone in the wet room to change into the jammies, and had taken off the trousers, washed and put the trousers back on again!

I thought about going back to change into the jammie-bottoms I’d left in the wet room, but by then, the Hustle episode was due to come on the gogglebox. I know I thought, I’ll watch Hustle and then go and change into the jammies… Neither came to fruition, I fell asleep missed the Hustle and woke up 6 hours later, time to get up!

Inchcock: Stultiloquence deserving and beyond help. Hehehe!

Inchcock Today – Monday 26th March 2018: Fresh Cream French Horns – Guilty!

Monday 26th March 2018

Latin: Martii Lunae 26 MMXVIII

(0057hrs) But updated to BST 0157hrs: Woke up coughing and sneezing, in a right state. Shaking and shivering for a few minutes. But as the brain engaged with the body thongs returned to normal and there were no signs of sniffles, coughs or sneezes? Had I dreamt this?

With surprising agility, I was out of the £300 second-hand recliner and into the wet room. Had a wee-wee. Inchies small lesion was tended to, cleaned up, and the PPs were changed. I changed the big clock on the fireplace. Then the one in the kitchen and the one near the computer.

Back to the kitchen, via the wet room for another wee-wee, and got the Health Checks done and medications were taken. Made up the listings for the Haematology Anticoagulation & Deep Vein Thrombosis unit.

1Mon001

Updated the Sunday post and got it posted off. A few comments read, appreciated and replied to. Then I went on to the Reader page.

The coughing and sneezing seem to be coming in short little bursts. After a minute or two, I seem to be back to normal, then sometime later, another round starts again? Very odd.

I put on a 1.5hr YouTube Chernoble documentary and watch it all the way through. Why? I’ve no idea.

Ablutions were tackled, medicationalisationing taking the most time. Thank heavens, for the efficient but expensive Germoloid Cream! Hehe!

WDP001A I opened the window as far as I was permitted with the locks 1Mon10still being on, to take a photo of down below to my left. Had to get the camera-strap on the right wrist and thread both hands, one in each break, through the narrow gaps and stick my hands out as far as they would go, then look through the glass at the screen on the back of the Panasonic Lumix. I clouted the left wrist and the right knuckles threading the limbs back in between the plastic covered security-wires!

This served me right! My own silly fault. Especially after saying I would not take any more low photographs from the kitchen window again, because it is too complicated and risky to get out safely with the camera, and hitting my head twice yesterday morning, doing it then! I am a nincompoop!

1Mon14And, also, as-well-as and besides; Can you see the dirty-great window shelves sticking out? The one on my windows is filthy with red dust, bird poo and large deep, dirt filled scratches on it already! But, the worst thing is it blocks the views. Very disappointing, another annoyance, aggravation, bedevilment, bug, vexation, exasperation, frustration, irritation and nuisance. Kindly implemented from the well-intentioned caring Nottingham City Homes and the well paid Willmott-Brown conglomerates, tour de force.

To irritate me more, there is knocking coming now from BBJ (Big Bad John) above. Frown!

I shouldn’t moan really at all. However, the niggles, appointment changes, workmen not arriving when they say they will, changes they make at short notice, the dirt and mess, the noise, the missed… Oh, sorry. I’m bleating, blathering and babbling on again!

Got dressed and made sure the black bags were sorted and placed near the door so I didn’t forget to take them to the chute with me on the way down when I went out.

All ready to go out, and a final double check on the taps, lights, computer, TV, windows, heaters, cooker and crock-pot to make sure I’d not left anything on. And off I went, dropped the bags down the chute, and into the lift. Stood there with my demented mind running off to its own thoughts, fears and frustrations.

WDP001A It was a couple of minutes before I realised I’d not pressed the button for the ground floor. Tut-tut!

1Mon01aOut onto Chestnut Walk on my way to the OBergrippenfhureress Wardens Temporary HQ and Social Shed; I stopped to take this picture of Woodthorpe Court.

I didn’t see any tenants all the way to the hut. This seemed almost strange to me. Plenty of workmen milling about, though.

Got inside the hut and offered a cheery Good Morning to the wardens in the little room. Only three tenants in there. Plenty more outside at the bus stop, smokers I assume.

I was a little worried about Welsh Bill, mind. He looked fine and chatted well. But there was not a single insult, put-down or sarcastic comment thrown in my direction from him. I hope he is alright.

Out to the bus stop, with now at least 24 residents in the queue. The young gal from the residential home at the end of Chestnut Walk was in the line, and she made her way to me for a gossip, bless her cotton socks. She has lost some weight, and that is not good. I handed her a Tunnock chocolate caramel bar to nibble later. The poor gal suffers from Anorexia Nervosa and is Autistic. Many others do not understand at all and tend to treat her as if she is backward. This is why I always try to talk to her, but more importantly, to listen to her.

As it happens, we were both going to Arnold. So we sat next to each other on the L9 bus. I listened to whatever she wanted to tell me, and with genuine interest too, that is essential I think. Learnt about her Mother and her problems and her Sister also. I tried to encourage her gently, to nibble more.

We offered each other our farewells as she got off a few stops before I did. I hobbled into the Asda (Walmart) store and began a major-food-buying mission. Haha! No rush, but I kept looking at the time though, so as not miss the L9 bus back home, at 1115hrs.

The feet were stinging after half-an-hour of selecting fodder, but I carried on all the same. Got to the checkout and joined the queue. I filled up one bag and had to use another.

1Mon11When the young lady told me how much it was to pay, I realised I had gone over-the-top on spending today.

£30.07! Blimus!

I had to use my card to pay them with. What a Plonka!

I thanked the lady and made my way out of the shop.

1Mon01bBefore I even go outside, I had to stop and put the bags down, for a breather.

So heavy were the things I’d bought

At least I’d packed the heavy stuff at the bottom of the bags, so nothing got crushed or broken.

I felt a touch of guiltiness at having purchased the Fresh Cream French Horns. (Amongst other 1Mon05items, Ahem!)

I struggled to get to the bus stop, due to the weight of my bags-full of not-needed foodstuffs. Tsk!

But, Hippy Hilda and Arthur Itis were both being kind to me. Only Anne Gyna and the plates-of-meat were any real hassles. So, no complaints from me.

1Mon07The automatic Asda petrol station that was over the road didn’t have a single customer all the ten minutes, or so, I waited for the arrival of the L9 bus. And, there was only one bloke apart from me, at the shelter?

The driveress of the bus was a friendly one. I gave the lady a nibble bar and said a few pleasant words to her when I got on.

I’d hoped that the girl from Residential Home might get on the bus en route, but she didn’t. Not many passengers were on the vehicle, but the driveress was chatting to some all the way back. With voices all going at the same time, I couldn’t hear what was being said nor join in the chinwagging. Shame.

No tenants got on in Sherwood either.

Back at the flats, and things got brighter, and the sky became a lovely shade of blue. So I took a couple of photos of my beloved if dirty, noisy and mayhem-ridden Woodthorpe flats.

Not many residents waiting for the bus either.

1Mon08

I think the workers were on there lunch-break because I could only see a few of them about.

1Mon08aI limped along to the apartments, having to stop a couple of times to put the bags down en route. A poor old thing, me. Hehehe!

In the lift foyer, and I spotted an addition to the sign about an upcoming meeting. So, we have a meeting about the new CCTV-System, the new  Tannoy-System and the new Intercom-System! Jenny’s updating to guide us. More dust and mess on the way! Hey-Ho!

I’d love to go the meeting, but will I be able to hear anything being said, this time?

Up to the flat, and had a wee-wee, and got the Health Checks done. Sys back up high again?

WDP001A I realised belatedly that I’d left the bags of shopping in the hall. So got them into the kitchen and somehow managed to get everything into the cupboards, fridge and freezer. I was a bit chuffed about this.

1Mon09

I checked the till receipt to make sure everything was there, and I had not been swindled.

Mind you, I needn’t have, not like when I go to Lidl, then it is advisable to check things.

Well, I’ll be a monkey’s Uncle: Had I bought a lot or what!

1Mon15

Total spend: £30.07. Huh!

I noticed I’d got the numbers wrong on the list above. Plainly, further reassurance of my lack of concentration?

Made a brew and started to update this blog, got up to here.

The noises from the workmen and BBJ were getting to me. Humph!

I decided to have sandwiches tonight for the meal. Porkpie and buttered Cob bread with tomatoes sounded appealing to me. I put some mushrooms to simmer in the saucepan with some light soy sauce seasoning and sugar in the water. Try saying that when you’ve had a few! Haha!

1Mon17Did the last Health Checks, tool the medications, had a wee-wee and had a dizzy-spell while I was sat down. Cleare up quickly, though.

Went to get the nosh ready and served up.

Interesting new clanging noises from BBJ upstairs. You can’t beat variety. Haha!

1Mon13This meal was followed with the digesting of the Fresh Cream French Horns. For once, I have to say I did not enjoy them much? But, I still gobbled them all up.

Went into the kitchen to wash the pots. The sky looked threatening, yet beautiful at the same time.

WDP001A Had a bit of a dizzy while I was doing the pots. Tried to watch a DVD, and cannot recall much of what occurred after that.

Inchcock Today – Part 1 of 2: Wednesday 21st March 2018

ZZZ07f

Wednesday 21st March 2018

German: Mittwoch, 21. März 2018

0310hrs: Woke having enjoyed three-hours of dream-filled nonsense toying with my mind, leaving me even more confused, disturbed and discouraged than ever with life’s current situation.

I felt (Rare for me) I just wanted to go back to sleep. But all the current hassles, tasks and disasters, forced me to evacuate the £300 second-hand recliner and get up and sorting things. Hopefully, the workers to do the balcony door will be arriving at 0800hrs, then out sharpishly to hobble to Carrington for the Blood Test with Nurse Ann 0905hrs. Bus to City Hospital and the GUM clinic for 1100hrs. Having been stuck indoors and unable to get out since last Thursday. Thanks to the snow and ice, and every appointment being rearranged by Nottingham City Homes or the Willmott-Brown team. I must get some fresh food in as well. Oh, and not get carried away on this computer either. Essential I start my ablutions at the latest at 0645hrs, giving me time scrub-up, medicate the lesion and piles in time for the arrival of the blokes to do the upgrading, then I can go off for the blood test, then to the clinic.

I hope things will be all right when I get back later.

Off to the kitchen and got the sphygmomanometer in use to do the Health Checks.

3Wed00b1

3Wed00b2Sys and pulse well up again. But I shouldn’t be surprised should I? All the hassle of late, and with more to come today with the inside balcony doors being installed.

Tomorrow the dentist appointment at 0930hrs, so I just hope I can get back for some of the Social Hour in time.

I’m feeling pretty low at the moment. Ah, well!

When it came to taking the medications, I realised I’d missed two doses so far this week, they were still in their pots. Tsk!

Off to the Porcelain Throne, more blood than ever from the Haemorrhoids this morning, splattered the bowl before I even passed anything. I put this down to all the enforced sitting around (on the computer mostly, thanks to Virgin, rearranged appointments and the weather) while I’ve been incarcerated inside this flat for days on end.

Got the computer on and finished off the Tuesday post.

Started this one off up to here, then posted the last one to Facebook and email friends. Did WordPress reading, some brilliant stuff on again today. Then sorted comments and replied.

I must get the ablutions and medicationalisationing of some regions of my obese-wobbly-body done now. Can’t use the noisy shower this early, so a stand-up scrub-up will have to suffice this morning. At least it is not like in the 1950’s. When I stood at the kitchen sink (No bath or shower or hot water, central heating, electricity or unemployment, in those days. Hehehe!) with ice forming on the windows, saucepans and kettles on the gas stove, carbolic soap, cut-throat razor… Enough! I can’t stand to think about it now. How the heck did I manage back then?

I’ll get back ASAP folks.

I’m back, all smelling nice with a less painful Haemorrhoids now they have been tended to, showered and shaved without any Whoopsiedangleplops too. But still not my old self.

Went to make a mug of tea to have before the workman arrives.

I found the new windows were obstructing the view and light in the room. With the bottom of the frames so high, and the new ledge below the window sticking out so far: This means I will not be able to take any photographicalisation straight down of Chestnut Walk, the car park, the bottom field, or in Panorama, etc. Because the window is set far further out, and with the new thicker heater as well, it is impossible for me to reach out enough.

P1270890

Still, in a few weeks when I can get out onto the new balcony, it might be easier to take them from there? Fingers crossed.

Got the nibbles for the nurses in the bag, updated this tosh to here, and awaited the arrival of the Nottingham City Homes man with his clipboard.

Who did not arrive? So, I got the things needed and set off out into the cold sunshine of the day, to start my mini-marathon hobble. I thought I needed a good blow-out after being stuck indoors for so long, and oh boy, did I give myself one! About 2.8 miles I reckon after checking on the Google map.

3Wed0001a

3Wed0001bHad to take care, because there were patches of ice on the higher ground.

Took this photograph as I went along Chestnut Way to Winchester Street.

There were no signs of life in the Obergruppenfruheresses Wardens and Social Hut as I hobbled by it. Well, there wouldn’t be at 0815hrs.

3Wed0001cTook this photograph half way down Winchester Street.

The weather fooling everyone into thinking it was a warm sunny morning. I can assure you it wasn’t in the slightest. Although it did warm-up later on.

But I was well wrapped up in my new coat, titfer and the PPs helped keep out Jack Frost.

The shadow in the picture made it look as if I was on a plinth.

3Wed0001dPutting back on my fingerless gloves, I was surprised to see the nail thumbnail, which I cut last night seemed to be leaking puss? It had the texture of toothpaste.

Odd that? Mind you, it is the thumb that as a young whipper-snapper I had crushed and decapitated the top half of it. No problems afterwards as such, but when it was stitched back on, the nail grew triple thickness for some reason. Just thought I’d mention it. Hehe!

3Wed0001f I proceeded in an Easterly direction (Haha!) and turned left on Mansfield Road.

Not much traffic about this morning.

No ice down here either, it was only lurking in the higher laying areas, you know, up the hills.

Up the hill and down into Carrington.

3Wed0001gaArriving at the surgery with a few minutes to spare for the appointment with Nurse Ann to take my blood.

Registered with the two not seen receptionists previously eventually. Both of them were on the phones, and I waited patiently, before logging in.

Called in by Nurse Ann, who was in a good mood. It felt quaint not being told-off. She got me done, and I gave her the nibbles, 3Wed0001hthanked her and was out. Left a bag of bites on the reception desk, and set off on the trek into town.

Plodded along the A60 through the strangely quiet hamlet of Carrington. Boy, I’m so glad I got out of there! Mind you, with all the hassle at the flats going on, I may be a little less-glad now. Hehe!

3Wed0001iHobbled along at a steady pace, no rush today. The sooner I get back to the apartment, the sooner I will have to face what will obviously be a right mess from the balcony window installation. That is if it has been done.

With Mr Clipboard not arriving, at o8oohrs as he had promised to earlier, I was in a pickle decision-wise as to what to do? If I locked the door, would they be able to gain admission? So I’d left it unlocked so they could. Not the best of situations, but I thought I had no choice.

3Wed0001J The plates-of-meat were beginning to hurt, but, I expected this to be the case, what with me not getting any walks in for ages.

As I struggled up the incline near the Rock Cemetary and the Forest, this Nottingham Pavement cyclist came close to clouting me as he passed me from behind. Unprecedentedly, this did not bother me much?

I assumed this was due to my having enough to worry about with the hassle of the flat?

3Wed001Up to the lights and over down the hill towards the City Centre.

A really strange never been seen before view when I took this photographicalisation of Mansfield Road.

Usually, lines of traffic would queue up at this spot from the traffic lights. But, all I could see in view was one bus coming up the hill!

3Wed01Always a sad sight or two to be spotted on this stretch of road.

Mostly reports of crime, and closed retail businesses.

I recall my beloved Auntie Kath was bothered by this many, many years ago, and wrote to the Council and local paper about it. Nothing has changed here then, apart from so many more 3Wed01ashops and pubs have closed down.

In the blocks behind these shops, are thousands of student flats of all types. I’d have thought they would have made use of some of the food retailers that have endlessly gone out of business, other poor souls and bought or rented and reopened so many, but to no avail, they have gone under too! I’m waffling again, sorry.

I meandered down the road and into the Victoria Shopping Centre (Mall) via the bus station and entered into the top floor. Walked the length and into the Boots Store, near the Optical Department, and searched for someone to speak with about my broken spectacles. A lady approached me. The unfortunate thing was obviously woebegone underneath her bravely displayed signs of mock interest. I explained about the fractured nose thingy on the glasses, handed them to her, and she told me to wait while she got them sorted for me. Returning a few minutes later, she returned the spectacles to me, and I inquired about the cost of getting a new pair with reading lenses. The lady told me to view the frames while she went to get someone to deal with me.

I meandered over to the wall of frames. Walked up and down them, but could not see an that appealed to me, at a decent price, and there were none with the large lens area which I wanted. Well, there was one, but that would cost me £299. I did another walk up and down in case I’d missed any… then realised that no one had come to deal with me yet. I walked out.

3Wed02I exited the centre onto Upper Parliament Street.

It was still nippy, and the sun tried to fool us. But as you can see, the Nottinghamians were like me, all wrapped up well.

Shadowy photo this one.

I legged it to the end of the road and over Maid Marion Way and up the dreaded Standard Hill to the Audio clinic. I took what I thought was a super picture of the skyline when I was half-way up. But mysteriously yet again, this one dissipated into the ether, never to be found on the SD card?

Into the clinic and to the reception desk. I made my needs known to the lady, who seemed to spend an inordinately long time giving me her inquiring up and down looks. After what seemed like minutes, but would have been a few seconds, she put her hand out and sternly spoke: “Record Log!” I really wanted to reply, “No, Gerald Chambers!” But was too scared of her practised expression and eyes raised momentarily, saying unspeakingly; “Come on you old fart, snap to it, move!” It really cheered her up when the zip on the inside pocket where I’d put Audio Log got stuck. I kerfuffled a bit in getting it open. I pictured a cartoon in my head, of this receptionist having an explosion coming out of the top of her head and me laying on the floor bleeding where the pencils had been stabbed into my chest. I left ten minutes later along with the batteries and tubes, but having forgotten to book the next test.

3Wed04I departed and hobbled down into the slab square. Sometime before the L9 bus was due, so I had a wander around and took some photographs while I was waiting.

The first one shown here. The other three had joined the Standard Hill photo in the ether and have never been found since? Not in the camera memory, not on the SD card either. I wonder just what I’m doing wrong here? I thought the slab square shot reminded me of some of the Alberquery shots that Tim Price does so well. Weather-wise I mean.

Caught the bus and had a chinwag with a lady tenant.

Back at the flats, I went into the Obergruppenfureress Temporary Social Hut. I needed to find out it the apartment had been done or not. I inquired of the Warden, but she had no idea, and suggested I got up and found out. I explained about Mr Clipboard not arriving on time as promised, but got no response at all.

3-2Wed 01So I did go up to the flat to find out what was going on if anything.

I could hear the noise and knew some of the lads were working in there. I part-opened the door, and the dust encouraged me to close it.

So, then back to the Obergruppenfureress Wardens Temporary Social Hut. Confident that a cup of tea and biscuits would welcome me, and I could rest there while the working continued.

I bumped into one of the lads and asked him how long it would be before I could get back in. About an hour I was told. Thanked the lad and made my way back to the Obergruppenfureress Wardens Temporary Social Hut, with hopes of enjoying a brew of tea and nibbles.

Hehehe!

I met Mr Clipboard on the way to the shed.

Fair enough, he apologised3-2Wed 01a for not being on time.

Got into the hut.

A solitary figure was I.

Haha!

Ah, well, at least I got a plastic cup of water!

Part Two of Wednesday’s Inchcock Today, to follow.

Back to the flat – maelstrom encountered!

Pictorial

Inchcock Today – Tuesday 20th March 2018: What a stonkingly-shitty, sclerotic, stinking, and shlimazel-ridden, stressfull day! Grumph!

Tuesday 20th March 2018

Uzbek: 2018 yil 20 Mart Seshanba Kuni

0315hrs: I woke with the brain engaged and fretting over what needed doing today for the coming visit from the Building Team. I went through the details in my befuddled mind: They are coming in the PM. Time for me to get all three room sorted? Got the laundry to do, not today or tomorrow though… ah, tomorrow, Wednesday the workers are coming in the morning, and I will not be here cause I’ve got the blood test at 0905hrs at the surgery with Nurse Ann. I’ll have to sort out what to do about that later, go to see someone and ask advice on it. I can’t move the chairs in the front room, have to tell them this when they arrive this afternoon, must remember this…

The most amazing thing just happened. There I was typing away and concentrating, and a massive sudden sneeze shook me to the core. After I finished blowing and wiping myself with the paper towel, the computer screen looked like it had exploded. Text highlighted, corner markers on the top photo and a message asking me if I wanted to do something I could not understand, with some sort of code numbers and letters showing? I declined the offer that I could not understand. Then after a while, I followed what had happened, or rather what had caused these things to happen. When the sneeze came, bodily fluids shot out and hit the screen! I wiped off the escaped nasal content carefully and gently. This computer has a touch screen thingy, and I don’t know how to turn in off. Anyway, all seems back to normal now. I sensed that today was not going to be a good one!

I’d lost any connection with what I was thinking that needed concentrating on now. Besides, my attention turned to the more urgent needs of getting out of the £300 second-hand recliner and making my way to the Porcelain Throne, post haste. A similar session to yesterday, rich dark blood and a lot of it from Harold’s Haemorrhoids (I hope, hehe). Got cleaned up.

Made a brew and did the health checks.

Took the medications and pondered further on what needed doing today.

I mysteriously found some will-power and semi-determination, to get on and sort the three-rooms out straight away!I made a start in the spare room.

With a rare resolution, to get the job done in one blast of enthusiasm!

SPARE ROOM:

I did a lot of moving stuff out of the way, the stack I put some of them on, collapsed and that had to be sorted out. The things I could not move, because they were either too stubborn to let me or too heavy, I left where they were.

I’ll ask for some help from the working lads when they arrive. It did not look any different to when I started. Huh!

FRONT ROOM:

Now the messy room was started work on. Sorted the paperwork first, and got it into the appropriate folders and case.

Tried to move the recliner and easy-chair, but both presented too much effort, and it was beyond my physical capabilities.

The old armchair was one of its cube-shaped legs, that has come loose. It is a 1962 E-plan piece of furniture: it was just too heavy for me to handle. Tsk! I managed to move the writing desk that Duncan Robertson bought me when I first moved into the flat, Bless Him, and the small chair to the back of the room. Along with the folder case. Moved some DVDs and got carried away soring them on their shelves, getting it all wrong chronologically and theme-wise. I’m sorry I started this, I’ll never find the one I want to watch next time now. Hehe! Dare not touch the electrics. It did not look much different from when I started. Huh!

KITCHEN. Ah, the kitchen. One heck of a job this one. Cleared the window ledge, but had difficulty in finding where to put the stuff I removed.

Swept the floor, which prompted me to give it a mopping, then. I needed the floor cleaner bottle, but I’d blocked getting into the cupboard for it with the gear taken off of the window ledge. So, I Moved the items back onto the window ledge and got the mopping up done.

Got the mop and bucket, did the floor cleaning and emptied the window shelf once again.

Around 0530hrs, I’d got it all finished in a fashion.

Feeling a little self-satisfied, but disappointed because it did not look much different from 2Tue05when I started. Huh! As the photos indicate, the top one was taken before I started on the room, bottom one after I’d say supposedly finished. I’m shattered now, and Dizzy Dennis has started hassling me.

I made a brew to celebrate, nearly dropped it and lost some content, which went over my hand, the counter, and the newly mopped floor!

Leaving oddly coloured purple marks on the fingers, which, when they had some antiseptic cream rubbed on them, changed to a faint blue colour. Work that one out if you can?

I got on the computer to start this post off.

2Tue08aThe view outside when I made another cuppa was grand.

Got this post done up to here, and went on to finish off yesterdays blog. I found an old blog that had not been completed, and the photos had disappeared. But I posted it anyway for a laugh.

Went to the WordPress Reading page. Then on comments.

Then2Tue08c got on with the ablutionisationing session. I’m feeling tired-out already today. Hehe!

There I was, having done the teggies, Little Inchies Lesion treating. Showered and shaving. About to treat Harold’s Haemorrhoids and the door chime rang out! Wrapped a towel around me, opened the door and gave the Willmott-Brown bloke with the clipboard one hell of a shock! Hahaha!

He asked if they could fit my windows today. ‘No problem’ I replied, off he popped, saying they would be with me when they have finished the flats above windows.

Finished the drying off and made a brew of the Assam tea, and got on with updating this post. Later, I realised I had not medicated the haemorrhoids when the agony reminded me. Hehe!

While I was awaiting the crew, team or whatever the workmen are known as I went on CorelDraw to do some more advance page-top funny graphics.

A chap arrived, and we had a natter he then shut me in the front room to reduce the noise and dust pollution for me. No food or drink for me then.

Back on CorelDrawing.

Blimey, it soon got proper-cold in here. What it must be like for the blokes doing the job, I dread to think. A good job they get paid well. Decent sounding type of lad. Back to CorelDraw.

I escaped my imprisonment to get a woolly hat out of the airing cupboard and took these pictures of the sticky-film the lad had put down, to protect the carpet I assume.

I also turned up the heater in the main room.

T’was the Willmott-Brown bloke with the clipboard. The balcony doors were being delivered later on. And he wanted to get them fitted in the morning instead of the afternoon. I told him about my appointment with the nurse for the blood test and my having to leave at 0800hrs to get there in time. He’s to get here at 0800hrs, and I can give him a key, or let them in and shoot off. It’s all go here innit? Hehehe!

Not only cold, but I’m now getting hungry, tired and weary as well. Brrr! Can’t get into the kitchen make a mug of tea either. Humph!

Concentration (As is usual at this time), was shot to pieces.

I went on YouTube to watch some motoring accident clips.

They are now taking off the outer-concrete, or whatever it is called from the balcony above. Which calls for a lot of drilling it seems. I’m gonna be a nervous wreck at this rate today. Tired, irritable, cold and hungry! Chilled to the bone. I can hear the removed chunks of whatever it is they are taking off falling onto my balcony, some big lumps of it flying about.

The chap on the hoist appears everytime the drilling stops to collect and bag up some of it. Better him, out there than me, doing the job. Haha!

But I must admit to liking the smell of the sealant they are using on the windows in the other two rooms.

I’m going to have to put the oil-filled heater on as well, now. Double-Brrr!

Oh, what an excellent day I’m having, they are now starting to drill on my balcony, and the spectacles have broken. The nose bit had fallen off. Can I find it? No!

Great Balls of Fire, what next! I bent down to get the plug to put the heater on, and Anne Gyna was not happy with me at all. Her being aggrieved and disgruntled, of course, meant more discomfort for me…

Oh, Gawd, I’ve missed the medications and health checks! I’m fed-up and disgruntled myself now!

I did a Health Check and made a cuppa (No sign of the workers and the kitchen had been swept). They may have said cheerio, but with me taking the hearing aids out, because of the noise, I might not have heard them. Took the medications and did another Health Check on the sphygmomanometer to catch up on the record log.

The lads outside were packing up, I caught them as they went down in the hoist.

Catching a view of the new window.

All locked up so I can’t mess with it and ruin anything for them.

Apparently, even to a mechanical and handyman moron like myself, they could not do the replastering around the edges yet until it had settled.

The left side didn’t have too many holes in it, but the right one was well knocked about.

Also, there were plenty of meat flies around the windows and kitchen.

I counted eleven. I reckon most were coming out from the right-hand side.

When I took a photo of that area, I realised that I could see many of them in the picture and on the window glass.

Proof that the Onergruooenfurheresses were wrong in laughing at me, and giving me sideways looks, many weeks ago when I told them that meat flies appeared in the kitchen.

Humph! Hehe!

Two openings in the new window, with a sideways motion. I hope that I can still hang out enough to take some down shots when they get opened end for use. Mary said, she had to wait a week for her plastering to get done on her windows and longer for the balcony ones to be done.

I think it might be awkward and too high for me to get out to photograph through them.

But, soon, I hope, the balcony will be done so I can use that to get the lower shots?

The lock wires I assume will be removed later.

Bits of plaster and dust were found everywhere, in the sink the cutlery, the cooker, food pots etc. But it is to be expected, so no bother to me.

Getting all the things back in place can wait. For the balcony, windows will be being done tomorrow, and more mess and hassle created made.

Later, sometime after that, the balcony itself will be positioned, not to be used then naturally, until the rendering has been done and dried. Did you see that? I’m getting into the terminology too now! Hehe!

2Tue14I visited the spare room to take a look at the new window in there.

Dead the same as the one in the kitchen.

They should be easier to clean than the old ones form one point of view; They will now need turning around with the finger trapping mechanism of the old ones. But; I’ll need the steps to reach to the top… hang on though, I’ll have another look, back in a second or two.

I’m back. Aha, the new windows do open inwards, so should be more accessible for cleaning after all! I can get to them with the step ladders without any bother. He says with high confidence and hope!

Things seemed a little brighter, doubly so, cause the sun came out, and it was beautiful to look at. I photographed it, but of course, I had to do it through the uncleanable none opening windows, but it was almost breathtaking to me. Of course, it is nothing compared to what they get elsewhere, especially in the likes of Australia, Canada or Albuquerque, but I liked it.

It dawned on me that I still have the Fire Sprinklers, new communication devices and Tannoy system to be fitted. And these windows and balcony upgrades will not be finished and ready for use for a while yet. My doubly brighter outlook soon dimmed. But that is because I’m so tired, and hungry, and concerned about tomorrows work on the balcony doors being done and my INR blood test appointment being with Nurse Ann thus, I will miss seeing Nurse Nichole. Its all a plot you know! Hehe!

I got the oven warming up and updated this diary.

The meal was welcomed and tastily too. (Can’t find the photo I took of it?)

Put the tray on the other easy chair and fell asleep; for ten minutes. The landline rang forth! It was another take-away delivery person telling me he’s outside the house with my pizza delivery. I said a few choice words and rang out, putting the phone down gently.

After that, sleep did not return for ages. I assumed I was overtired and feeling niggly with things. Eventually, I nodded off and got three hours kip. I had to force myself to get up with all the things going on today. Humph!

What a stonkingly-shitty, sclerotic, stinking, and shlimazel-ridden, stressfull day! Grumph!

Inchcock Today – Monday 19th March 2018

Monday 19th March 2018

Gujarati: સોમવાર 19 મી માર્ચ 2018

0200hrs: I lay trying to recall a dream I think I’d just been having. I was in a swimming pool, filled with Engraulidae, with several people walking around throwing water on the anchovies from an aspergillum. On a tannoy system someone was asking me to answer quiz-like questions I knew nothing about and could not give an answer too. The voice said I must provide a solution or a fish would be killed for every one I fail to respond to. I was a right blatherskite in answering and made no sense at all, but the voice accepted every muttering I spouted as being the correct response? The recall gets very vague here, I have no idea what happened after this. I thought about getting back to sleep to see if I could get back the same dream.

0230hrs: The need for a wee-wee prevented me doing this. I disentangled my short, plump blubbery mass from the £300 second-hand recliner, and off to the wet room for my wee-wee. Far less bleeding this morning from the fungal lesion.

Washed and cleaned up and into the kitchen to see what the weather was like.

There were no signs of any snow falling. But the already settled dollop made this photograph rather pretty, I thought.

An Active-Warning was on the BBC site for Ice in Nottingham. When I took this photo of below the kitchen window, I could see they were right, too

The glistening does not show up in the picture, but it was unmistakably going to be risky walking underfoot on roads or sidewalks when I get out later.

I made a mug of extra-strong tea, then wondered if this was such a good idea when I had to return to the wet room for another wee-wee. It dawned on me then, no signs of needing the Porcelain Throne yet? I sensed problems might arise later.

Coming out of the wet room, I noticed something had been posted through the letterbox and had floated over and under the radiator. Being careful not to bang my head against the radiator this time, I bent down to retrieve the notice… and clouted my elbow on the heater instead. Hehe!

The leaflet was a warning of what was about to occur in the next stage of the flats upgrading. Then pamphlet was dated Friday 16th March, but I’m sure it only arrived yesterday, on Sunday? Unless I had not noticed it under the radiator? It included:

Tuesday 20th March (1-day notice given)  And a PM arrival. That will help me to get some sleep a lot. To:

  • Tuesday 20 March PM: Check area is clear to ALL windows – Check access to balcony area to demolish the wall and install protection screen.
  • Warning that the day before your windows are to be installed, you will see operatives on the balcony removing the outer leaf of the wall – they will not need access.
  • Wednesday 21 March AM: Install protection screen, Demolish wall, remove old windows and door and replace with new.

This will prevent me going out today, as moving all the gear and furniture to give them access to the windows and balcony is not going to be an easy job for me to do. So I’ll have to work slowly and carefully on the task to get it all done in time. Hippy Hilda, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna permitting, of course. Feeling a little apprehensive about this, but its got to be one. I’ll nip to the Obergruppenfurhress Wardens Shed and get clarification on what need doing around 0900hrs.

All this hassle does me no good. I fret and panic nowadays with change, pathetic, I, know. Just sorting the paperwork will take hours.

I admire how some of the tenants have coped with having their apartments done. Maybe it is easier for the couples in situ, than the single occupants, but hey, what do I know about couples! (Desirous plea for someone to adopt me here, I think? Haha!)

Back and got the Health Checks done and medications were taken. Made up the INR record on Excel for the week.

Got the computer on and finished off yesterdays blog. Rushing about a bit now so I can make time before I fall to sleep, to get as much work done on moving the furniture, boxes, wardrobes, bags, cleaning material, stuff off of the shelves. And, to file and store them, run through the paperwork etc. In readiness for the window workers arrival, and get it moved into the files boxes. The grey-cells are racing away, but the body is refusing to go at the same rate of knots! When I finish starting this diary off, I’ll make a start on the front room rearranging, cause that will take the longest time to get done. The most-gruelling work will be the unused apart from as a junk room, bedroom. Not looking forward to that, its bound to set one of the ailments off.

Got this post started up to here.

A quick blast on the WordPress Reader. Then the comments were read and replied to. There are some great posts on the site today.

Facebooking tried. Slow, but got through it.

Started to create a TFZer graphic.

Bondi Beach, with the adorable Marie and me in the rocks. Roxie is keeping her eye on the nosh I’m carrying, of course.

Tended to the ablutions and medicating procedures next.

Got myself wrapped up and off out to the Obergruppefureresses Temporary Wood and plastic shed, to ask advice on the two-day builders visit, and to check if the weather conditions out there would permit me to get out today.

As I opened the door at the end of the flat’s entrance into the elevator foyer. The icy-wind blew in my face, making me shudder and shiver a bit. Brr!

I could hear the wind blowing too. Things did not bode too well for my planned get about session today.

A closer look at where the wind was coming in from, revealed a two layer of iced-up snow in the bottom holding tray under the slatted vents that go through to outside.

With this, and the upcoming window and balcony work starting tomorrow for two days, I thought my immediate prospects of any warmth in the flat to be minimal.

Down in the elevator, it took a while some workers were bringing up window frames etc.

As I departed the building out of the foyer doors, the sight that greeted me, made my mind up straight away, I will not be going out anywhere.

As I got beyond what little bit of cover there was from the scaffolding, the snow and ice made me shiver even more!

Thre weren’t many people about, and they were taking their time on the lethal surface of the road. My slip-defying creep along to the shed, took ages, as I tried to avoid the worst patches of sheet ice.

I ended up walking on the road along Chestnut Walk.

I must have looked a little odd as I made my way along.

A lot of ice was under the snow, and some it compacted. Finding any free bits to walk on was impossible until I was close to the Warden’s Hut.

Things looked terribly bleak out there.

I ended up walking in the middle of the road on a bit of ice-free patches. But of course along came a car wishing to exit the site, and it was back to hobbling on the ice for me.

About 0910hrs, I arrived at the hut, I entered and the Obergruppenfurheress Wardens Deana and Julie were in their office, both on the phone. Cath, the on-site resident Liasion Officer, was not present. But about six builders or window fitters were, they were having something to eat and a warming drink before starting work.

I waited a while until they had finished their communications, and went in. They seemed happy enough. It must be hectic for them on a Monday, with the weekend’s problems to discover and sort-out. I mentioned the noise from Herbert. I found out his real name is John. He is a lot younger than me, and a big bloke. This cheered me up no end!

I asked what needed to be done in readiness for the two-day frenetic, tumultuous work mess and session. “Just leave free access to all the windows and balcony”. Julie asked if they should go and sort me out now. I declined the offer. (I regret doing that now!) Thanked them, handed a fancy cup over for the Residents Raffle and said my farewells.

As I left the shed, the ground around was littered with icicles that had come off of the roof. Some builder chaps were walking along spreading grit on the roadway. Much appreciated by me, I can tell you.

As I made my way precariously back to the flat, I recalled Mary and Cindy telling on different occasions, that there new balcony and everyone’s, was left unsealed for two days, as were the windows. With -4°c forecast for the next two nights, the gale coming in through the outside vents and having mine done… I felt trepidation and the knowledge that I was going to be very cold shortly in the flat! Strewth, it’s cold enough now!

Entered the foyer, made way through several window fitters and their glass and frames and got in the lift.

A bit of sun broke through the clouds as got in the kitchen. I was in a thoroughly disconcerted state of mind at this point. I did the Health Checks Again! Realised what the time was, before I took the medications, luckily.

A tad concerned about this, because I had not had any Dizzies or Funny Turns at all? Something else to mention to the Doctor. That is if the weather will let me get to see her on Wednesday.

Took this photograph, of the hoist below, where the workers were making there way up to remove the outer leaf of my front and bedroom walls. Hence, my fear of getting too cold when it is done, cause apparently, it stays like this for several days before the work is completed. Those who have had theirs done inform me. Not to mention the horrendous noise they have to make doing it.

I set about sorting the access to the bedroom (Spare room) and titivating things a bit. I was doing so well, then Dizzy Dennis gave me a visit. I pressed on afterwards to finish I hope, the clearance. But gave up thinking of doing any more.

Made a brew and got the computer on to update this post. I don’t know how I will manage for the next few days, cause I’ll be in the worker’s way and the dust and noise would prevent me working on the computer anyway. Fingers crossed, but I might have to give it a break for a while, and I do love doing this blog. I’ll see how it goes.

Updated to this point, and went on CorelDraw to do some Diary top graphics.

Got this one of Thomas finished and posted off to the site.

Nipped on Facebook, but things were sticking and oh so slow again. Came off and back to CorelDrawing.

So disappointing!

Back CorelDrawing.

Completed Sandies Latest Film.

Then got the nosh all ready for gobbling up.

I struggled to stay awake while I was cooking this meal.

1Mon09And when it came to settling in the £300 second-hand chair to watch a DVD and eat the meal, it was the same. In fact, I think I might have fallen asleep while consuming it.

I wobbled off into the kitchen to wash the plate and cutlery. Feeling remarkably contented for some unknown reason?

1Mon10The sky looked so beautiful tonight.

Feeling sure that I would get some sleep, due to my feeling drowsy so early, to be on safe side, I put the TV on. Anticipating the arrival of the land of Nod.

But no, somehow I stayed awake through nearly a full episode of ‘Hustle’!

I woke, hearing noises. But could not identify what they were or where they were from?

I got up to have a wee-wee, and had to change PPs due to some bleeding from the haemorrhoids, stubbed my toe on the way back, got down in the recliner, and knocked the bottle of lemon and lime spring water off of the Ottoman, swore to myself, got up and kitchen-towelled the carpet and got my head down again. Off to sleep in seconds, hours later than usual, but still.

Some Street Art Found by Inchcock on his hobbles around Nottingham

Some Nottingham Street Art

Found by Inchcock on his hobbles around Nottingham

A sign on a Queen Street bin, thanking Nottinghamians, but that depends,

If the smokers are able to understand and apprehends,

That dropping rubbish often offends,

How can they miss the bin with their nub-ends?

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Nowhere is safe from rubbish, it’s found in every nook and cranny,

Dropped by old, young, Mother, Father and Granny,

They should be fined heavily, by a dewanny,

To encourage them to stop this villany!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

This above, in Sherwood the photograph was took.

I put this one on Facebook,

Cause, and I might have been mistook,

Someone might be in shtook,

The clothes are newer than mine, new they did look!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

The bus driver, using his Vape some more,

To me, it smelt like mandarin and camphor,

But it didn’t hide the nub-ends beyond, that’s for sure,

More mini street art, what an eyesore!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Winchester Street, 0700hrs, early in the day,

A takeaway that had gotten thrown away,

Chinese or Indian, I cannot say,

Smelt nice, but I resisted and walked away!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

On the way to the hospital, to receive some medication,

Noticed someone had vandalised this installation,

Whatever caused their aberration?

Undoubtedly a most dangerous adaptation,

I quickly moved on away without further cogitation!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Walking through the toddlers play park,

Seeing this, put me in a mood that was dark,

More spewed up takeaway, it looked like curry and quark,

More drunken louts perhaps, what a lark.

Seems to be becoming Nottingham’s trademark!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

,

Along with these heart-rendering young folk,

Two mobile phones on the top left bloke,

Sorting the genuine ones out is no joke!

The City’s unused door & alleyways are getting chockablock,

One cheating one went up before the beak,

He was making more in a day, than my pension for the week,

Puts one off helping, so suffer the genuinely poor and weak,

So many of them have a Machiavellian streak!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Again, on the City Centre’s Queen Street,

More discarded food, possibly chips and kebab meat,

For this fodder, even the pigeons did not compete,

And a rubbish bin nearby, only ten-feet!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

These unclean rubbish deposits on the street, risking poliomyelitis,

Getting bitten by the rats, colitis and conjunctivitis,

Diahorrea, hepatitis, gastritis and chorioamnionitis,

Not to mention laryngotracheobronchitis,

Or getting mugged and hit over the head and getting tinnitus!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Nearly as sad perhaps, is the artwork in the wood,

At night, a scary part of my neighbourhood,

Young itinerants lurking, all claiming to misunderstood,

I never go there at night, I never would!

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊
