Inchcock – Tuesday 20th June 2017: Whoopsiedangleplop – Lost the hearing aids. Tsk!

Tuesday 20th June 2017

Belarusian: Аўторак 20 чэрвеня 2017

0400hrs: Woke up, recalling some bits of a dream and scribbled it down quickly on the notepad. From my younger days, Suzie my first love (Well, my only one really), Chrissie, a wondrously attractive gal from ‘Down our terrace’ and Dad were in this one, I could not see me though, it was like I was just watching things as they progressed? I think Sister Jane came into it at times, to tell me where and what to look for? The back yard, Chrissie’s family dog Rover, appeared, burning ashes came down from the train above on the viaduct. Memories (Happy ones mostly) raced into and out of mind at a fast rate, like fast forwarding a tape or DVD? Pondered on them for ages.

0455hrs: Up and to the Porcelain Throne for a heavy duty session, but failure was in the air (Just wind, Hehe!) Had a wee-wee, though.

Did the health checks: Sys148, Dia 80, Pulse 101, Temp 35.6 and Weight 14.7 The pulse rate was exceptionally high, never had it so big before?

The computer on and sent Email to Sister Jane, with the photo of the funny shapes on the tummy. Told her I could make it tomorrow (Wednesday) all being well, to get out to visit them. Fingers crossed she can accommodate me. I’m sure she told me on the phone that she would be in on Wednesday. (Well, somewhat sure, Tsk!)

Another attempted Porcelain Throne session failed. Had a wee-wee, mind. Took a Senna tablet.

Did some WordPress reading.

Another try on the Porcelain Throne, gave up, had a wee-wee again. Took a second Senna tablet.

Did the ablutions. Another attempted heavy-duty session on the Throne… Failed again. Felt the pressure of needing to go, but too nervous to push too hard yet, as this had caused much bleeding last month when I had  Constipation Konrad visiting me. Had a wee-wee.

Could not find the hearing aids. Searched for over an hour and a half without any luck. I vaguely recall taking them out yesterday because one had lost all power and the other was picking up some squealing noises and wrapping them in a tissue – where, when and the location of where I put them remains a mystery to me? I’d been considering treating myself to a newer set of two anyway. So decided I would go into town and check on availability, prices, etc. and have a new hearing test done if they were not too expensive.

Got the bag ready, and went out to the Community Shed to see if Obergruppenfurheress Deana would be in like she said she would. Down the lift and out to the hut. Obergruppenfurher Deana and Gruppenfurher Julie were both in. Apparently, it is the day for collecting the yearly concessional TV licence monies in, so they were busy with us old folks throwing money at her. Hehe!

In between issuing the licences to various folks, she rang the insurance company for me and got it paid, bless her. Then reminded me of the need to pay for my TV licence. So I did.

On the way back to number 72 for one more quick search for the hearing aids, before catching the bus into town. I observed that the Woodthorpe Flats bus stop had a notice telling us ‘This Stop is no longer in use – use the one at the end of the road next to the Winchester Flats” – shame that, an extra walk and no bus shelter to wait under in the event of foul weather. Never mind, can’t he helped. A lot of workmen standing and lurking this morning, and they had started to do the removal of decorative ceiling coverings doing one floor at a time. Starting with the top floor on Monday. Meaning my floor will be done on Thursday when I can either go out for the day, and they will provide a free buffet meal in the Social Hut for us, or we can stay inside all day. Does this mean the Tenants Social Hour will be cancelled? I imagine not because it only affects the people on the 12th floor of each block. There is no way anyone opting to stay in their flats will be allowed into the lift area while the work takes place. Health & Safety rules.

Up to the apartment and had a search for the missing hearing aids again, no luck. Rushed back down again and to the end of the road to the new to us, bus stop. Many residents from both blocks were waiting. Had a chinwag with Bill. He was telling me how all the others were moaning about the bus stop, being moved, further to walk, no shelter from the elements, chattering about having to in or out of their homes for a day… they are not happy Bill said. I could not hear them due to the lack of hearing aids in my lug-holes. Haha!

I was the only one from the flats who got onto the City bound bus.

On Mapperley tops, the traffic inbound was at a standstill, and the L9 bus that the others back at the flats were waiting for was in the middle of the queue. Poor folks have going to have a long wait.

Dropped off at the terminus and walked down Queen Street into the slab square.

No Big Issue sellers in the area this morning?

To Boot’s and had a word with a lady there. But when we got to the prices I withdrew with as much grace as I could manage.

Over the road and down onto Wheeler Gate and the Specsavers shop. Had a word with them, their choices were far less than at Boots, and the prices for comparable models was about the same, but they had an offer on of two for the price of one. Plus, 4 years free batteries, one-year free insurance, Free aftercare, Free choice of fitting styles (Not sure what this means yet), a ninety-day satisfaction period and a Four-year guarantee. Oh, and a free hearing test.

The young man got my details onto the computer and asked when I wanted the test done from his available dates. He offered Thursday, made him look at me oddly when I told him I was to be stuck in the flats all day Thursday, I declined. Friday at 1700hrs – I got another odd look when I said this was too late for me to get a bus there or back to the flats.

Saturday at 1330hrs (He was getting a look of desperation on his face now, Hehe!) That will do, I told him, much to his relief I’m sure. He gave me a booklet and an appointment card.

I was going to tell him about there only being three buses to town on a Saturday, but I think had come to the decision that I was mad enough as it was. Hehehe!

Left and had a hobble up Friar Lane to see if the hearing place was open that used to sell alarms and timers for the hard of hearing. Terribly high prices last time I looked.

A big sign on the window, Shop To Let! So the business had apparently gone under since my previously visiting it. Not surprised really at the prices they were charging.

I meandered back down and onto the Slab Square, then up to the Primark Store and had a look around. Got some socks that claimed to be wider than average, thought they looked comfortable.

Some shoplifters were being taken out as I left the store. I don’t know how they make it pay here. So many times I’ve passed by and seen a police car with Officers removing offenders from this place.

Spotted some Nottingham Street Art outside.

I assume the staff of the nearby shops and officers have to nip out for a quick fag at their breaks and lunchtime? Whatever happened to the Smoke Rooms we used to have?

Got a TV magazine for next week and a newspaper to read on the bus, as I had failed to put my crossword book in the bag. I thought whatever it was that had caused the traffic snarl-up earlier, might be roadwork related and still be there.

As the bus passed the end of Clinton Street, I took a photographicalisation of it.

It didn’t come out too bad, considering how fast the bus was travelling, I thought.

Back at the apartments, I got off at the new stop and had a fair walk back to my block. Although it wasn’t a long walk, it was longer than usual. I must remember this when setting out in future to catch a bus and give myself a little more time.

At the apartment door, I rang the ladies next door bell. Gave her the newspaper to read. In the flat and tried again on the Porcelain Throne, no luck, but had a wee-wee.

Got the calendar updated with the appointment for the hearing test.

Realised when I did so, I’d missed getting to the Woodthorpe Park open day. Tsk, Cobblediplonk & Humph!

Did the Health Checks.

The pulse rate had gone down well, only 75 now, gone the opposite way? Huh!

The computer on again and updated this diary.

Back to the Porcelain Throne… ah, movement at last! Not easy, and Duodenal Donald bled a lot, but at least Constipation Konrad had eased a little. I shall still take another Senna with tonight’s medications, though. Took them while I thought of it.

Did some more WordPressing, then Facebooking. Lots of comments to reply to, that was fun.

The intercom burst into life, it was District Nurse came to collect their bag of tricks. I pressed the admit buttons and put some nibbles into the bag and said nowt when she got here to collect them.

Back to Facebooking.

1845hrs: Dawg-gone Virgin Internet went down! Reset button and restart made no difference. Rang 150 for help, got a recorded message Sorry your Virgin Internet is having problems, engineer despatched, we anticipate to have it working again by 0225hrs!

Had a wee-wee. Wash, the toothache started when cleaning the teggies. Humph!

To extra Codeine Got the meal ready.

Rang Sister Jane to make sure she will be in and I would be welcome to visit in the morning.

Got some nibbles and things in the bag, so I don’t forget them tomorrow.

Found the hearing aids in the pocket of a shirt I was putting into in the laundry bag. Humph – Tsk and fancy that!

Fell asleep, dreamt of being chased along office corridors again.

Nightie-night.

Inchcock – Monday 19th June 2017

Monday 19th June 2017

Tajik: Душанбе 19 июни соли 2017

0530hrs: Woke recalling bits of a dream, it was not a good one, and I felt a dishearted and in the doldrums for a few seconds about the theme of it. (Then remembered the Nurses hoping they would arrive early enough for me to catch the 0930hrs bus after the Enoxaparin booster injections. This prompted me into action, arousing an oh-so-rare sense of urgency, and noticed how tidy the room looked, then off to the Porcelain Throne.

The session was all right mostly this morning. The passing was painless and bloodless. Anne Gyna and Reflux Roger were both taking a holiday along with Dizzy Dennis. Duodenal Donald being the only one of regular ailments giving me any bother… but I was aware that this could change so quickly. So prevented me from getting too hopeful or happy.

Noticed some new bruising and under the skin bleeding on the left leg. Which incidentally has gone down in size a bit this morning. The scratches had dried up now.

Good stuff that after-shave I used on it yesterday. Hurts a bit, but it does halt the bleeding.

I realised that the timing between the District Nurses visit and catching the bus would be tight. So I got on with making a mug of tea, did the Health Checks. Took the medications and sorted the weekly tablet box’s out.

Finished the weekend dairy off and got it posted, then started this one off.

Ablutions tended to, two nurses arrived, a plump bonny lass and a young youth who looked about 13-years-old to me? He never spoke, just spent his time pretending to listen to the District Nurse and spent his time perusing all over the flat with his beady eyes.

They soon got me done in plenty of time, thanked them and off they shot. Got the things ready and went out to visit the community shed. A chinwag with Roy at the bus stop en route. Gruppenfureress Julie and Obergruppenfureress Deana both in. Gave them their nibbles. Asked if Dean could help with phoning the insurance company for me. Told to see her tomorrow morning as she is away again after that. So busy, these gals you know.

To the bus stop and another gossip with Bill, Roy and Pete.

Bus into town and a 35 bus out to the QMC Hospital. Only two of the four lifts (elevators) were working, so I walked up the stairs again to the D-floor.

A lot easier doing this today than the other days recently.

Along the corridor and into the reception area – the look from the receptionist accompanied by a well-practised sneer welcomed me. Washed my hands and took a seat, got the crossword book out.

Later, they reminded us about the one minute’s silence about to take place in memory of the Grenfell flat victims and survivors. I was most annoyed with two ladies at the front who kept on chatting throughout the minute. I dare not say anything for fear of losing me temper.

The doctor called me in and took the blood reading. It was up to 2.1 now, which is still lower than the 3.0 target figure, but much less so than the recent ones, that have been creeping up slowly this week. 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 then 1.8. He decided to cancel the Enoxaparin injections and increased the Warfarin doses instead. Told me to make an appointment with my doctor’s nurse… (Ah, I’ve remembered her name now, Nichole!) for another INR blood test with her. Nichole, a beautiful creature and a fantastic temperament she has. Told me of his concern for internal bleeding after looking at my flobby-tummy. He made a phone call. Said to me to go to the DVT clinic afterwards, gave me a card to take with me. I thanked him and handed some nibbles to the nurses. Off down the corridor to the DVT, where a bloke was waiting for my arrival. Put me on a trolly, down a long barren hallway and into a room with what looked like X-ray machinery, but he called it some other name. Tied a big metal and cloth belt tightly around the midriff and photographed under the skin via the belt. He got the results immediately from the print-out. Nothing to worry about now I am off the Enoxaparin, he told me. We joked about Nottingham Forest’s decline and mourned Brian Clough. I’m not sure how we started on about this? Hehe!  Informed me no need to return to the other doctor and wished me well. Advised me that I’m to be taken off of the Red Watch scheme tomorrow. (Or something like that anyway.) Thanked him and I was off down the stairs and out into the glorious sunshine to the bus stop.

I’d actually enjoyed having Red Markers on my record – I’ve never been looked at so quickly ever before. Ah well, back to the remembering to take the crossword book and a reading book with me again every visit.

Waiting for the bus to arrive, I became aware of the amount of scantily attired young females all over the place. Just thought I’d mention it like.

En-route to Arnold, I took a couple of pictures from the bus window. All reflections and blurs. Tsk!

Dropped off in Arnold High Street and went into the Wilko store to get a spare toothbrush and washing up bowl. Got the brush, but could I find a bowl? No! Mind you, it is a huge shop. Asked a lady assistant stood near the customer desk with a big sign declaring “Here to help, Can I?” Asked her for the location of the bowls as mentioned earlier. “Over the back in the Kitchen Section,” she said stabbing her finger roughly in that direction. I thanked her kindly and set off on a search. Found the sign for Kitchen on the ceiling. Had I wanted, saucepans, cookers, cutlery, microwave ovens, toasters, frying pans, woks, kitchen scales a kettle, chopping board, mop and bucket, waste-bin, containers, clock, grater, food mixer, sink drainer, water filter or tablets, jugs, mixing bowl, coffee maker, slow cooker, timer, wall clock, blender, processor, fryer, steamer, wine chiller, paper plates, Hostess trolley, waste bin, kitchen furniture or black bags… I’d have been fine. But a bowl to use in the sink? Humph!

Gave up and put the disinfectant, toothbrushes and dusters back where I got them from and departed, making my way to the Boyles Store further up the road. Where I got some spare toothbrushes at only 39p each! Disinfectant same as the one in Wilko for 15p less, and Neutradol Air Freshener at 30% extra and the same price as Wilko. Felt a bit smug here I did.

Two doors up and into the Savers shop. Got some Neutradol fabric spray at £1 each, some Zoflora Citrus disinfectant at £2.49.

Attempted to take a photograph of some bears in a window, but made a right mess of it. Humph!

Limped along to the Asda (Walmart) superstore. Boy, is it right what they put on the web about what Asda shoppers wear… or rather what they don’t wear!

I spent a good while examining the attire of the young and older ladies in Walmart. Bought only a pack of fresh garden peas. (Nibbled some on the bus later)

Back to the apartment and tended to a much-needed wee-weeing session.

Sorted the paperwork from the medical activities. Added things to the calendar.

Did some WordPressing, checked the Emails, and sent one to the surgery for an appointment for Friday with Nurse Nichole for the INR test.

Carried out the Health checks and made up last week’s record.

Today’s seemed a bit variable?

Received an email back from the surgery very quickly, an appointment for 0925hrs on Friday, but this on the Google calendar.

Made a drink and had a look into the options of what to have for fodder tonight.

The mobile rang, and it was the District Nurse Controller, asking if they were needed tonight or not. I explained everything and she said no need to keep the Hypodermics in the fridge, just a dark, cool area.

I rang Sister Jane, and she rang back. I’m hoping to go see them on Wednesday, all being well like. Told of one of the blood spots on the tummy from an Enoxaparin shot and how it looked to me like a chicken.
Pete had overdone his electric bke riding session, and I pulled his leg about it, because I kne just how he felt, aving done similar myself so many times. Hehe!

Had a wee-wee.

Got the fodder prepared, and ingested.

Potato Cakes, strong cheddar cheese, raw pod peas. tomatoes, beetroot, german meat and a lemon curd yoghourt.

Settled to watch some TV – fell-asleep.

Inchcock Today – Weekend 17-18th June 2017: Another messy, Confused Two days.

Saturday 17th June 2017

Uzbek: Shanba 17 Lyun 2017 Juma

Woke around 0600hrs, very tired and feeling in desperate need of a good rest from the Enoxaparin injections and all the related hassle. No memory of any dreams. Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and off to the Porcelain Throne. Did the ablutions as I was as usual, not sure of when the District Nurse would arrive.

Got the kettle on and did the Health Checks, they were all over the place this morning. Sys: 174 (Up from 154) Dia 81 (Up from 74), Pulse 74 (Down from 86), Temp 35.0 (Samish), Weight 14.82 (Up a bit more) – Can’t wait for the midday checks to see them then.

Dizzy Dennis called on me a few times. A headache is developing above the eyes, I assume this is because of the lack of rest and sleep?

Had a wee-wee.

All cleaned and smelling fresh now, I got the computer on and finished the Friday post.

Started this one off to here, and then did some WordPress reading.

Had a wee-wee.

Started Facebooking, and Grenfell disaster came to light. I searched for the latest news in response to a post about it. Something caught my attention in a report from the residents who were woken by the Taxi Driver: Neighbour Maryann Adam, 41, said no smoke or fire alarm was sounding in the building when Behailu was forced to evacuate his flat. ‘He knocked on the door, and he said there was a fire in his flat. It was exactly 12.50am because I was sleeping and it woke me up,’ she says. ‘The fire was small in the kitchen. I could see it because the flat door was open. There was no alarm.’

If the flat fire-door had not been closed, would this have made the situation worse? Surely it would? I do not try to blame or accuse anyone with this observation, just would like to find all of the causes.

Had a wee-wee.

Went to make another mug of tea and I could hear a dog barking so clearly, even without my hearing aids in.

He was 12 floors down and a few hundred yards off, half way up the gravel path to the park. Managed to get a half decent shot of him by hanging out of the window. Boy, could he yap! Hehe!

The District Nurse arrived at 0925hrs. Cor, what a cracker! Got me all hot and bothered, of course, she was too young for me, but a sudden delightful yearning arose for the first time in years. It soon faded, though. Huh! Hehe!

Got on with doing a graphic for the TFZers.

Just got an Email telling me my Morrison Delivery is due in a while.Did I remember?

Did I remember? Ahem!

Carried on creating graphics after a wee-wee and making a mug of tea.

The next one took ages to get something like I wanted it to look, but I got there in the end.

Got another completed, but not the one I wanted to do for TFZer Shirley.

Lillie is in this one on the left. Reasonably happy with it.

I’ve love to try and get it in sepia but having problems with the background.

I’ll try it again mind you, although I anticipate I may have to give up on it and do another sort for her.

Done my best, this is it on the right. Got TFZers Shirley, Linda and Thomas in it as well.

I just had to turn everything off and get a nibble and a sleeping session it, hoping I don’t oversleep and miss the evening Nurse.

Drifted off into a deep slumber for a few hours, to be woken by the mobile ringing, but I was too slow to answer it. Got a voice message, it was the Nurse Controller saying they would be late tonight. Just as well really.

The poor nurse was hassled when she arrived and under pressure. She told me she’d done three shifts worth of jobs already tonight. She wanted to know why I could not do the injections myself. Fair question, as she has not seen me during a Dizzy Dennis visit. I must ask at the DVT on Monday if I can do them myself. Poor gal left in a rush to get to her next patient, leaving me feeling a bit guilty.

Made a mug of tea and took the evening medications rather late. Got the computer on to update this hilariously messy two-days-in-one diary, because I was still so tired, that if I did let myself sleep again, I was nervous of not waking in time for the morning nurse’s visit, and get in trouble again.

Did the Health Checks.

Feeling a bit disconsolate, de-meritorious and inconsolable for some reason.

Sunday 18th June 2017

Afrikaans: Sondag 18 Junie 2017

Heavy eye-lidded and feeling blameworthy, at fault, in the wrong, responsible, answerable, accountable, liable, censurable and condemnable, reprehensible and almost sinful. Suddenly at a new low spiritually.

I suddenly remembered I have not visited the Porcelain Throne for ages now? Finding it hard to concentrate now, to keep on to thoughts. If you know what I mean? Wondering why I Googled Side-Affects of Enoxaparin.

I reckon with Confusion and Irritability in the list explains why I am constantly battling with myself to make decisions, and always thinking I make or have made or am going to make the wrong ones? Which is usually right this weekend!

I’ve only had to have these injections twice before, but they were for only two days, about four doses. With the INR level so low this time and not coming up so soon, it has been about 16 injections this time. Maybe this accounts for the depressions, confusion and irritability with myself?

Hello, I’m coughing like a good one now! No demands for the Porcelain Throne since yesterday morning? Had another wee-wee, though.

I’ll take a photographicalisation from the kitchen window to cheer myself up. (Desperate measure now)

Terrible efforts,  took three, in different modes on the camera, but none of them was any good.

The lone star in the sky reminded me of me? Hehehe! (No charge for the chronic poetry here folks)

Well, that failed to cheer me up. Humph!

Had another wee-wee.

Took the medications (Extra Senna) carried out the Health Checks: Looking alright.

Checked the Emails and responded to some WordPress ones.

Onto Facebooking.

AndyBack onto graphicalisationing on CorelDraw.

Had a heck of a time getting all these done.

So glad I did though, hoping they like them on the TFZer site.

Canada’s finest in the first one. Pattie. My desire you know?

Janet next, with Meritt and yours-truly J Ponysneaking into it with my camera

Hope Janet likes her pony.

Hehe!

Bleeding from the left leg now. Humph! And both limbs have swollen with water retention, which confuses me considering the number of wee-wees I’m doing.

Had another wee-wee. Hey-ho

01Fitted an old graphicalisation up and reposted it.

A selection of fantastic TFZers in this one.

Lynda, Patricia, Lona, Thomas and Andy, along with a few of their pets as well.

Then I moved on to do one for Andy’s Birthday, AndyDrinkwhich is today.

Great chap is Andy, he’s from Canada too.

Off for a wee-wee.

Made a cuppa.

Found I’d left the fridge door open, so closed it. (I’m quick ain’t I? Hehe)

Checked the leg, still leaking just a tad.

7Sun4bThe oddly sized legs tickled me. Well, that’s not the right word, but it’ll have to do.

Must remember the Morrison delivery coming today, coming because I have a feeling that I may be kept in the hospital on Monday when I go for the INR blood test.

The bleeding while the INR level is so low, that cannot be a good thing.

7Sun04aMade another mug of tea.

I used the tripod for the first time when taking a photographicalisation out of the kitchen window.

However, it was not tall enough for me get a shop properly, so, I may have to invest in the longer one.

Noticed that the injection holes in my tummy, the right and left, did not match up count-wise?

And… why being as the weight has gone down a decent amount, have I still got the flabby tummy? Hehe!

Into the wetroom for the ablutions. Just getting out of the shower, when the intercom rang, the morning nurse had arrived. Got myself decent by the time she got up to me. All done in short time and off she went.

Had another wee-wee.

Might have a meal later today, I’m feeling better, apart from the bleeding chin and Dizzy Dennis’s attentions. Bacon I thinks?

Watched some stuff on the U-tube thingy.

The Morrison man called.

Put the food away and got an early noshing session in. Bacon sarnies with trimmings.

Put the headphones on to listen to the radio and nodded off. During which I dreamed about my suffering vivisepulture. But I was calm and fascinated by the experience. I thought:

I wonder if I can count all the knots in the wood inside the coffin before I die for real.

Why the box I was laying in is built from Fyffe’s banana crates from the fifties?

How can I see the knots and grains in the wood when there is no light in here?

How did I snuff it?

Did I leave the hot tap running?

Why am I wearing an Oliver Cromwell outfit?

On and on questions came into my mind… I’m sure at one stage a thought/question was ( I think possibly the best and most intriguing one of those I could remember):

“I’m fed-up with all these issues now, I hope I wake up soon?” Hehehe!

When I did stir, the need for making use of the Porcelain Throne appeared, at last. Can’t remember the last visit! Haha! I can laugh now, because there was no extreme pain and no bleeding from the experience, as I anticipated there would be. Almost a pleasure!

Had a wee-wee and set to doing some cleaning, mopping hoovering and dusting.

Then Dizzy Dennis assaulted me rather nastily, so a sit-down and a cup of tea with the medications was called for.

After a while, I felt a lot better and got on with sorting out the paperwork that had built up on the mini-desk that Duncan gave me when I moved into the flat, (Thanks again Dunc!) into their respective folders.

Suddenly felt tired again now, so I visited the wetroom and did the ablutions. All went well, apart from spraying myself all over with the Dettol Antiseptic Disinfectant spray in error for the citrus antiperspirant. Tsk! Had another wee-wee.

Made a brew and took this photographicalisation from the kitchen window.

Back to the Porcelain Throne, but it was a false alarm.Had another wee-wee.

Had another wee-wee.

Got the computer on and updated this twollop.

Checked on Facebook. While doing this, two District Nurses arrived to see to me.

Both worthy of a 9.2/10 rating for their sizeable perfect forms. Again they were in a rush. They did tell me though, that the Winchester Court Flats had four fire engines outside! Oh dear!

Back on Facebooking.

WordPressing next.

Had another wee-wee.

Went to make a mug of tea, and just had to take this photo of the view.

Emails next.

Had another wee-wee.

Head down and nodded off feeling exhausted.

Inchcock Today – Thur 15th 2017: Hospital again for INR test and injections. Well, it gives me someone to talk to!

Thursday 15th June 2017

Xhosa (Bantu ethnic group of Southern Africa mainly found in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, and in the last two centuries throughout the southern and central-southern parts):

NgoLwesine 15 Juni 2017

0430hrs: Up and out of the £300 second-hand recliner in minutes, on the way to the Porcelain Throne. Bloody and a slightly painful session. Duodenal Donald flowed freely, Anne Gyna was giving me warning signs and the tummy was twinging in places it had never twinged before. Dizzy Dennis put in an appearance too! Tsk! Worra start!

The view from the kitchen reminded me of the horrible fire in London for some reason or other?

Got the paperwork for the QMC visit later, must not miss the 0930hrs bus into town. I want to drop off some nibbles and raffle prizes at the Winwood Community Shed for the Tenants Social Hour, as once again, medicationalistical appointments prevent me from attending! Humph!

Off for a wee-wee. Then I got the Health Checks done and took the medications. Looked okay to me: Sys 163, Dia 69, Pulse 80, Temp’ 34.9 and Weight 14.7

Another wee-wee.

Computer activated, and diaries worked on. Oh, dear! Email from the surgery, telling me they have made an appointment for today at 0830hrs for an INR test, a new prescription is ready to collect from the chemists, and I have to make an appointment today to see my doctor and a ‘Specialist’. Mmm?

So, a change of plans needed, what do I do about the QMC? I’ll ask at the surgery.

Had to close everything down to get ready and off to the surgery in time – Tsk! A rushed ablutioning session and dressed up all nice and fresh. Forgot all about the tummy pains as I hurried around in a panic getting things sorted; Swapped the nibbles for the nurse’s nibbles. Changed the paperwork and set off to the lift, where I had to return to check the flat to see if I’d left anything turned on or off that shouldn’t be. Tut!

Met Frank and his much better half (14th-floor tenants) outside, as she was being lifted for a day out by here daughter. Wish her all the best, and after she’s gone, I ask… Roy, 4Thur04that’s his name, not Frank (Grump, what a clot I am), if he would tell the others about my not getting to the Social Hour again and why! With a cheeky smile, he said he’d think about it. Hehe!

Along Chestnut Walk and to the glass recycling bin dropped of some jars.

Gorgeous weather, not too warm and no winds or signs of rain.

4Thur05Turned right at the end of the Walk and down onto Winchester Street Hill.

The greenery was heartwarming as I saw the new growths battling though.

Down to the end and onto Mansfield Road and up and over the hill, down into Carrington and the first call of the day, at the Sherringham Surgery and the nurse Carena… I think that is 4Thur06her name. (Not that it matters cause she is sweet, kind, cuddly and beautiful) for the INR blood test.

The weather continued to be fine and almost cheer making with the lack of wind.

Just over the hill, a much dreaded and feared Nottingham Pavement Cyclist came passed me and was within inches of hitting me!

By the time I got the camera out, he had disappeared from view altogether? He was moving at a high rate of knots, bless his cotton socks.

Got to the Sherringham Surgery in plenty of time, booked in and took a seat, 20 minutes before the appointment time – and was called in by the nurse (Come to think of it now as I type this, I think her name is Nicole) in about three minutes. It has its advantages being on the At Risk Register and on Red Watch, or is that Red Alert? Whatever, I’ve certainly being seen as a priority these last few days. That red bar across my page on their computer screen is working wonders. Haha!

4Thur11She soon took the blood, again it took ages for the vein to stop bleeding, but that was good, it gave me time to have an ogle and gossip with the nurse!

She made a good job of covering it afterwards. Gave her some nibbles, thanked her for the help and dropped some nibbles off for the reception staff as I limped out of the surgery. (The feet were really singing now, after all the hobbling in the last three day, to and from hospital DVT and Anticoagulation and the surgery)

I limped down into Carrington and the Chemist to collect the mystery prescription that I knew nowt about. It turned out to be some new Warfarin tablets, so that was good.

Out and meandered up and into the Lidl store. Where I invested in some nibble bars to hand out in thanks, a large baking potato, mini Weiner sausages, tomatoes and a bar of almond nut brittle as a treat for myself. Even bravely used the self-serve counter again.

Out and to the bus stop, thinking how much I appreciated the free bus pass as I waited for the arrival of one to take me back into Sherwood, as the tootsies were worse than ever now… Whoopsiedangleplop time again! It dawned on me that it was far too early for me to utilise the pass! So I set off on a limp back along Mansfield Road with its hill, into Sherwood. Humph!

4Thur08By the time I got to the Methodist Church about half way to Sherwood, I was in great pain, and yet high spirits?

Unaccountably content, I was. Good thoughts were permeating through my mind.

I pressed on eventually arriving in Sherwood proper and the shops.

4Thur09I called into the Children’s Charity Shop for a peruse around, but nothing purchased.

Out and on my way to visit Wilko and then the Nottingham Hospice Shop and the phone burst into life.

It was the District Nurse wanting to know why I was not in the flat. Oh dearie me!

I tried to apologise and explain the problems I’m having with me receiving instruction for the Queens Medical DVT, the Anticoagulation there, the surgery and the District nurses. Which didn’t all agree or marry with each other… A long silence, a noisy Tut, and she told me “I’ll have to call on some else who is in and return to you if I get the time later” The phone went dead. I think I’m in trouble with her now. And she is about to give me injections in the stomach too! Huh!

My previous unexpected short-lived air of confidence, nay, almost contentment and hope dissolved into the ether, to be supplanted with anxiety, worry and apprehension with a twinge of trepidation. Yes, I was depressed again now. Grumph!

Morosely I called into the Wilko store but bought nothing. Then up the hill to the Nottingham Hospice Shop and got a little mug.

To the bus stop and checked the bus times, the next one not being for 40 minutes, I carried on up over the hill and down the  Woodthorpe Grange Park gates and up the footpath hill.

En route I found some pleasure and almost enjoyed it when I took these photographs while standing under the Chestnut Trees near the walkway.

4Thur10

To the top of the hill and down to the entrance to the flats.

Got in just in time for an accident-free wee-wee! Haha!

Put the bits bought away, and tablets into the drawer then got podding some garden peas to cook later, and the District Nurse (A different one again) arrived. I actually should have died on the spot, with her obviously well-honed and perfected look of… what’s the word, er… erm…  detestation, or maybe odium would best describe it, should have melted me on the spot. It deserved it, especially as she adopted a smile at the same time. I couldn’t help but think she could replace Teresa May without any problem. She was not happy but did seem to cheer up a bit as a semi-curl came on her lips as dug the hypodermic into my well endowed flobby belly. Hahaha! I’m exaggerating for fun of course. Am I? Hehe!

I thanked her, Dare I not, do so?

She said someone would come in the morning around 1000hrs as she did not know if I was to have any more Enoxaparin injections or not but would find out. Oh dear! I was not brave enough to ask her if anyone was going to call tonight to ‘Do-me’.

05Thu12The day suddenly went a bit dark?

I wondered if this was an omen of some sort?

I got onto the computer and updated this diary to here.

Had a wee-wee.

Another long day then, without much sleep. And, no watching the TV for fear of not hearing the District Nurse if she does arrive, and will it be 2200hrs again. Oh dearie me.

05Thu12aMade another cuppa in the new mug. Had a wee-wee.

Rang Sister Janet to see how she is.

She had problems of her own but lovingly seemed more interested in mine.

Checked the Emails, and had got some in support from the TFZer gals. Nice that!

Then tried to catch-up with the WordPress reading.

There is a lot of it to catch up on after having to rush out this morning.

Had a wee-wee.

Had a call from the QMC Anticoagulation Floor D. The lady was hard to hear, but I’m sure that we agreed that the Enoxaparin Injections must continue, although the INR level had risen a bit. I have to go into the QMC for tests in the morning. Busy lad ain’t I! Hehe!

I will send an Email now to the surgery, so they know.

Had a wee-wee.

Put the news on and listened through the headphone. So many people still missing from the horrendous fire in London. Feeling a bit down again now. The flats are still burning!!! The officials are assuring us that the residents will be rehoused locally if that is what they want.

Sent the Email to the surgery.

Did some Facebook catch up, at last?

05Thu12cGot the meal prepared and took the medications, did the Health Checks.

Sudden flatulence, danger recognised, got to the Porcelain Throne; only just in time.

Haemorrhoid Harold was bleeding badly. Cleaned me and every else up, and returned to the dying room… Sorry, living room. (Understandable mistake how I’m feeling. Hehehe!) Luckily there was nothing on the plate to get cold, an hour later, when I got around to eating it, any appetite I had left, had vanished. I threw most it away.

Missed a call on the phone, fumbled with it and got to a message that had been left. T’was a nurse asking me to confirm whether or not I’d had an Enoxaparin injection this afternoon and rang her back on a number. I rang back, but got a message about Not being available on this figure?

Duodenal Donald kept my attentions for a while. Then the phone rang again. The nurse with a few questions for me. Said she would arrive at 2000hrs to stick me with the hypo. I thanked her and had a sit-down, as it had been a horrendously long day, no sleep and full of ups and downs.

5Fri032020hrs: The District Nurse, who had been before (The extra cuddly one with the twinkle in her eyes and firm appealing rear end) arrived. Set about looking at the record of injections, she made a call to someone. Then explained she has to go nd return later at 2200hrs because it is too early and dangerous to give one yet. I had a feeling that somehow this was my fault because I got confused with the timing?

Feeling very drained now, I put the TV on with subtitles and watched the news until the nurse returned at 2220hrs to give me the treatment.

Thanked and confirmed that no treatment was needed for the morning and they will know the results from the DVT clinic at the QMC and whether I’ll need them to carry on with the Enoxaparin injections tomorrow night. We’ll see.

A long frustrating wearing day and I ain’t well. Humph! Hehe!

Inchcock Today – Wed 14th June 2017: Grenfell Flats Disaster haunts me

Grenfell disaster. So sad making

Wednesday 14th June 2017

Nepali: बुधवार 14 जुन 2017

0400hrs: Stirred from a dream filled night (Of which I can remember nowt!) throughout which I was ever waking up and trotting off for a wee-wee. I think I suffered this the last time I had to have the Enoxaparin injections?

Gave up trying to get back to sleep, and decided to get the washing done in the laundry room before the District Nurse arrived. No idea when she will come. Had a wee-wee.

Took the washing down and got it in the machine and came back up to the apartment.

Took the medications and made a brew and it was time to go down to move the clothes into the dryer. Got a phone call from Sister Jane. She told me to put the TV on to see the horrible fire in the flats in London and asked how I was feeling this morning. Nice of her. Had a wee-wee.

Down to the laundry room and got the dryer working, then back up again and got the TV on. Terrible news, and from what I listened to from the tenants who had escaped the conflagration, they had been told the same as us here about what to do in the event of a fire, those that did follow the advice must surely have perished. No fire alarms sounded they say?

3Wed02The computer on and did some Facebooking and WordPress reading.

Had a wee-wee and down to collect the washing.

Cleaned the filters, washer and dryer and back up again to the flat.

Worked on updating the diaries while watching the news of the disaster on the gogglebox. Couldn’t use the headphones or I would not hear if the nurse arrived and buzzed the intercom line.

Very depressed with the news. It had filtered through of how brave the emergency services were.

The nurse arrived, a cuddly little thing, asked many questions and injected the tummy. She was here about an hour or so. Said someone would call again tonight around 1700hrs, Bless her.

Had a go at doing some graphics to take my mind off of the poor souls that were living in the flats fire.

3Wed06The Morrison delivery arrived, and when I moved to go to the door, some severe pains from the innards appeared.

At least I know I have someone to tell the tale too, or will have when the District Nurse comes tonight.

Put the fodder away and cleared the waste bags out to the chute.

Not so good at all, now, even Dizzy Dennis paid me a visit. Humph!

Signed off on Facebook, no way I can concentrate on that or graphicationalising how I feel now. Befuddled, Hehe!

Got the pod peas simmering in the pan. Not having anything else heated today, I might leave the meal when the peas are done until after the medicationalistical (Hehe) visitation later.

Updated this to here, and got the ablutioning tended to.

3Wed04Got the early meal sorted. Not that is was difficult with no hot fodder involved.

Took the medications and gobbled the food down.

Off for a wee-wee.

Settled to watch the TV with subtitles on, so as not to block the hearing with the headphones in case I don’t hear the District Nurse arrive. I could not read the subtitles though, they were too small, so I put the news channel on about the fire in London.

Fell asleep, woke to need a wee-wee, tended to this, made a mug of tea and as I was doing so, felt sure I could hear noises, but where from? It took me a while to realise it was coming in through the open window, I went out on the balcony and found it was some 3Wed03residents from a flat a floor above mine. Got the hearing aids in and realised they were slightly intoxicated, bless them.

They were out in the warmish sun, legs over the balcony railings, a selection of drinks to hand and shouting in ‘Gibberish’, I think it was.

Hehehe!

Got down in the second-hand £300 recliner, and despite the twinges, stabs and unrelenting pains now suffering, I fell asleep again. It was well past my bedtime now, and still, the nurse had not arrived. The nurse earlier said they would be here at 1700hrs, but it is now 1900hrs. Had I missed her when I fell asleep?

3Wed07

Up for another wee-wee and noticed how beautiful the evening clouds looked with the addition of the aircraft exhausts. The almost ghost-like bit, centre left confused me? Haha!

Popped out on the balcony to take this shot, so the unique mystery addition was not reflections from any glass?

Fell asleep again, and just after 2100hrs the intercom burst into life, the nurse had arrived. Cuddly little thing she was. Soon had me sorted with the injections and I bid her farewell and got my head down. But the brain and new pains from the stomach ensured I did not nod-off for hours.

4Thur03Hey-ho, so much better off than the poor souls affected by the Grenfell Tower disaster!

This is the latest photograph of the complex. 12 dead, still unable to search for bodies 24 hours after the fire started. Dozens  injured, many critical.

So, I do not have the right, intention or inclination to moan about things.

My heart goes out to them.

TTFN.

Saturday 10th June 2017 – Had an intended idle day. So there! Hehe!

5Fri12n

Saturday 10th June 2017

Latvian: 2017 Sestdiena 10 jūnijs

0330hrs: Stirred, lay there doing my best to recall details of the dream I’d been having; something about me being chased in a skyscraper full of office corridors? Haven’t had one like this for ages, but, any real memories were too vague.

Fell off to sleep again (another uniqueness for me, nodding off again).

0530hrs: Came back to life, of sorts with a jolt. Found rubbish all around the £300 second-hand recliner again. I’d been nibbling, that was obvious by the crumbs and wrappers generously scattered around on the carpet, the chair and me. I can’t remember eating at all, let alone fetching the biscuits to eat?

Off for a wee-wee and heavy duty session. Little Inchy was raw and sore, but no bleeding again. Haemorrhoid Harold only bled the tiniest bit. I could tell Duodenal Donald was building up for an attack. However, Reflux Roger, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna were in a good mood – and, no signs of Constipation Konrad either. So no complaints there.

To the kitchen, where I rinsed out the mucked-up oven mitt things from the bowl where I’d left them to soak. Drying them was a problem, how to? I put the clothes airer on and balanced them on top.

Did the health Checks: Sys 145, Dia 79, Pulse 88, Temp 35.6 and the weight was 14.8lb

Mephitic emissions of the wind from the rear arrived unexpectedly. The aroma seemed to linger all day. Tsk!

Computer activated. Checked on which programme if any the Scotland v England match would be on. I was delighted when I found out it was on ITV tonight. A  hard game for me in some ways to watch. I have a great liking for the Welsh and Scottish teams. The likes of Andy Lochhead (My favourite, a great old fashioned centre forward), such a shame he was not selected for the Scottish Squad, he did get just one under-23 match in.

6Sat14

But his going South of the Border made him a de trop to the selectors, I’m much afraid.

Ian Ure and Dennis Law were both great defenders, too. Jim Baxter was fantastic in his hey-day. So, I’ll be unhappy whichever way the match goes… unless it is a draw? Haha!
Others that come immediately to mind: Welsh: Terry Hennessey, Ronnie Rees, Dean Saunders. Scottish: Kenny Burns, Peter Cormack, Archie Gemmill, Frank Gray, John Robertson, Kenny Dalglish, Tommy Dockerty, etc. Ah, good times!

6Sat15Nipped into the kitchen to pod the peas and get them cooking in the Crock-Pot. I also put some Jersey potatoes in the saucepan to boil.

Hence the advice on the left here.

Another wee-wee and back on the computer.

Updated this diary. Then caught up with WordPress reading.

Checked on the cooking and saw that I had not turned on the power to the cooker. Ah-well, done now!

Onto Facebooking then. Spent hours on it enjoying myself.

Went to check on the fodder’s progress.

You recall how I forgot to turn on the power to the cooker earlier to do the spuds? Well, I didn’t turn on the oven when I put the lamb nosh into it either! Gerrin’ fed up with missen today!

6Sat17Cooking now, though.

Scoffed the lot of it, a yoghourt, some bisuits and some nougat too!

Back onto CorelDraw 2017, but coud not concentrate very well. Perhaps the expectations of the upcoming Interernational twixt Scotland and England later?

Nodded off and dreamt of Sister Jane and me living together with our beloved Auntie Kath, I was the butler and we were all so happy doing things we never did before together.

Woke, took the medications, did the Health Checks and visited the Porcelain Throne and settled to watch the match on the gogglebox. The abutions can wait now, ’cause the match is due to start.

6Sat18

The match itself was wonderful to watch, with the most exciting last twenty minutes I’ve watched of a match since the 1966 World Cup Final.

But the aftermath saddened me so.

6Sat19

It happens that the authorities had sent some Metropolitan Police officers to Glasgow in case of terrorist activity, so it seems, up to now to me, that they coped with the vandals and yobboes reasonably well. Took the edge off of my enjoyment, to think about this return of mindless hooliganism and hatred.

6Sat21

The so called fans were even rioting when on holiday in Magaluf!

Did the ablutions with mixed emotions, happiness at seeing a great match and agreeing with the score for once, loathing and not understanding of the rioters, satisfaction at the good tasty meal… cut myself shaving due to lack of attention. It took a lot of stopping, had to resort to the aftershave, need a new bottle now. Hehe!

Shaved, teggies done, ear-holes cleared, Little Inchy medicated and showered, I got the nightweat on. (Well, it was nippy tonight).

7Sat24Head down in the £300 second-hand recliner. (It’s lasting well for a cheapo bargain is this chair) But, I could not get to sleep thinking alternatively about the great match, the fighting hooligans and the newly attacking Duodenal Donald. I don’t know if it is the fodder or the vandals that started him off, but by gum, he’s back with a vengeance. Took an extra 40mg Omeprazole.

I’ve been on this medication along with so many others for about 13 years now, looked it up to see if any alternative is available on the NHS. Got side tracked with this page on the left here: Methinks I might have a word with the pharmacist or doctor on my next visit.

I Googled for any Omeprazole alternatives. It seems that almonds and almond milk after eating has helped some people get off of this drug. Thaty should it says, only be taken for short periods; And my doctor has had me on it for 13 years plus?

Another suggestion was deglycyrrhizinated licorice, DGL? Never heard of it, but this is more for Roger Reflux than the ulcer. Then they suggest Apple Cider Vinegar, but it must be organic. Each time I ask about Omeprazole, it relates again to the reflux valve and not the duodenal ulcer, so I put in the search; Duodenal Ulcer Medications UK. Andthere it was, but only as an antacid. Confused now. Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Thursday 8th June 2017: Chinwags, blood tests, Constipation Konrad retreats, election time, bought unwanted fodder and eating rather a lot today?

4Thur01

Thursday 8th June 2017

Kazakh: Бейсенбі 8 маусым 2017

0400hrs: Woke, no memories of any dreams, the stomach rumbled, and I got put off the £300 second-hand recliner with high hope of achieving a passing on the Porcelain Throne, so off I hobbled to it, taking care not to stub the toe en route, or on the way back.

Still a painful, but successful visit, if another rather long one in urging things to happen.  Haemorrhoid Harold bled a lot less than of late. Cleansed and medicated me up. Hehe!

Duodenal Donald was letting me know he’d be about hassling me today.

Took the medications and carried out the Health Checks. The weight had gone down a bit, not before time.

Made a brew of tea, and looked at the Google Calendar. Morrison delivery is coming twixt 0700>0800hrs, Vote in Elections and Extra INR blood test at the surgery 0950hrs.

I mused over the Voting and considered which of the unreliable lying nihilists to vote for this time… not that I really had to ponder over my choice. Just a hatred of having choices of which none met my criteria of being votable… Huh! Working family roots will prevail methinks.

Got the ablutions done.

Got the nibbles in the bag for the electoral staff and nurses.

Shelled the pod peas and into the Crock-Pot in water and a bit of demerara sugar.

Opened the Emails and did some WordPress reading.

4Thur02All ready for the Morrison delivery to arrive.

The rain seemed to be easing when I made another mug of tea.

Made sure that the things needed were in the bag: nibbles, brolly, hat, collapsable walking stick, DVT Card and Health Check Record for the nurse and the crossword book.

Got the last bag of the Purple Chips that I bought for Jenny and Frank to try, then rang Jenny to see if she would be in this morning. She said she would, so I went up to the fifteenth floor with the chips and a free small can of lager delivered by Morrison, but I did not recognise the outside of the flat?

Came down to my own pad to see if I could find the number of Jenny’s and Franks flat on some paperwork (Also put in the hearing aids I’d forgotten to earlier). Picked up the bag and Voting Card and nibbles. Then I set off to check each floor. On the ninth floor, a chap got into the lift and pressed for the ground floor. I asked him if he knew which was Jenny’s flat and he lived next door to them on the ninth floor.

Back up to the ninth and dropped off the things at the proper unit. I did feel such a fool! Tsk!

When I got down to the foyer, and outside, the rain had stopped altogether. Walked to the Voting Shed, and found different people there today and they had laid things out differently: Without thinking, I said to them as I entered: “Oy! You’ve changed things around this time! I’m not having this; we aged old farts can get confused, muddled and addled very quickly, you know! They burst out laughing and smiles appeared on their faces. Gave them my election card and one of them said: “There you are, five booths to pick from, all free, Make your choice Sir!” I rubbed my chin exaggeratedly and put on a frown saying: “Er, erm…” More laughter rang out. I voted and posted the sheet in the box and gave them a bag of nibbles!

4Thur03Said my cheery cheerio’s and out and off down Chestnut Walk onto and down Winchester Street Hill.

The high winds had caused more havoc nd damage again last night. Debris scattered all over the roadway.

Down to the bottom of the hill and noticed as I approached the traffic light corner to turn left, 4Thur04that I had not taken the bank papers with me.

So I didn’t call at the bank. Humph!

I still had plenty of time to hobble up Mansfield Road and down into Carrington with time to spare.

So I had a leisurely amble.

4Thur05

At the corner of Haydn Road, I espied some traffic and altercation that was taking place near the school gates.

Probably just busy.

I pressed on up the hill, and by the time I’d covered about 300 yards or so, six police vehicles with klaxons and the blues on passed on the journey toward the City Centre?

4Thur06Just over the brow of the hill, a Nottingham Pavement Cyclist nearly had me over. Tsk!

A few hundred yards further down the hill and in Carrington; So many police cars belted by I could not count them!

I did manage to get the camera out and caught the blue lights of the last one on the convoy

4Thur07as they had to use the opposite side of the road to get through the traffic.

Got into the surgery with 20 minutes to spare. Logged in and got seated with the crossword book extracted from the bag and pen in hand.

After only five minutes the nurse came and called it to go in.

It was not the usual nurse this time, but the Obergrupenfurheress one. SFA Time! Shudder, Fear & Apprehension! Hehe!

She took the blood, I gave her the nibbles and returned to the receptionist. I explained that the Anticoagulation card I am supposed to carry with all the time is getting a little tatty and the lettering is coming off of it. Could you advise me where to get another one from, please? “The Queens Medical Anticoagulation and Deep Vein Thrombosis Clinic on the fourth floor” she informed me. Thanked her, departed and limped to the Lidl Store to have a perusal of what they had on offer.

I got little carried away in there, I’m afraid. Got three raffle prize nibbles, Nougat sweeties, piccolo tomatoes, Lemon Curd Yoghourts, Frikadellens, Choc Hobnob Creams and a lamb hotpot. £11.47 spent. Boldy (And as it turned out foolishly) I tried to use the self-serve till again, being as I had no end of lose change. Got the stuff swiped in alright, but when it came to paying, it took the £10 note but kept spewing out the change I put in! Sometimes holding a coin and the total to pay kept changing! After trying about eight times, I had to ask an assistant or help. When I told her what was occurring, the look on her face shouted out at me: “Oh, Christ, not again!”

We tried again between us, several times and in the end, she got it to accept the coins after I had to change the ones I was putting in!

Out, in a foul mood and caught the bus back into Sherwood. Still, the rain kept off!

Dropped off in Sherwood and got a second-hand cup from the Charity shop.

Then and crossed over the pelican lights and to the bus stop. Three other tenants there waiting, and a good laugh and chinwag ensued. Two more joined us. The bus came, and we were soon back at the flats battling the wind to get inside them. Haha!

Squashed into the lift and we were still laughing and joking, I like it when this happens.

In number 72 and had a wee-wee first. Ten put the fodder away after selecting the lamb hotpot and some potato balls and putting them into an oven tray to cook later. The Crock-Pot was bubbling away with the Jersey potatoes, pod peas and4Thur08 mushrooms.

The computer on to update this diary up to here.

Used the new cup and made a gorgeous, strong cup/mug of tea, using the last of the 99 tea bags.

Must get some more tomorrow!

Checked the nosh, not ready yet.

4Thur09Looked later and it seemed to be ready, got the oven food into the dish, made and added some gravy, then the mushroom, peas and potatoes.

Superb tasting fodder this was. Rated at 9/10. Minced lamb hotpot with extra potatoes of two types. Sourdough bread and a lemon yoghourt.

Watched some TV and the phone rang before I could fall asleep (Hehe!) but I could not get to it in time before the damned thing went to answerphone. Struggled to find out how to listen to it. Eventually getting into it, and putting the hearing aids in and the message I heard was; “Nothing to be heard!”? Methinks it night have been the surgery, DVT clinic or the Anticoagulation Unit about the INR Warfarin blood test results?

Took the evening medications, unsure of what Warfarin tablets to take, not knowing the results like, I took half the dose, no idea if I’ve done right or wrong.

4Thur10Watched some telly in between nod-offs. Woke with a start and a raging hunger?

Which I found confusing bearing in mind the decent sized meal I’d had a while ago. Raided the fridge and made a brew, then nibbled away as I fell asleep again watching the TV.

After a long nod-off, I changed channels to the election results… and had a few kips in between watching them.

Into the morning now, I checked on the final results locally:

5Fri02

To the Porcelain Throne, with good results, I think that Constipation Konrad is leaving me now. Hopefully, the ‘Trotskies‘ will not replace Konrad! Even Haemorrhoid Harold was only bleeding the tiniest bit.

Nodded off…

Inchcock Today – Tuesday 6th June 2017: Cor blimey… INR level (Target 3.5) now at 9.1 – Scared to shave now! Hehe!

2Tue001a

Tuesday 6th June 2017

Japanese: 2017年6月6日火曜日

Stirred, still feeling a bit tired around 0425hrs. Again, no memories of any dreams, just a feeling that I had, had some?

Off for a wee-wee.

Took the medications and luckily spotted I had put the evening doses (The midday ones were okay) in the morning doses pots the other day in error.  So I set about changing them.

2Tue02It had apparently been raining most of the night.

Still drizzling a bit. I’ll have to get the big coat on or remember to take the brolly with me when I go to the surgery for the INR blood test. Cause it is a 38-minute walk to get there.

To the Porcelain Throne to tend to an imminent motion. Not so bad this morning… not easy or painless mind, but improving methinks. I hope.

Got the nibble in the bag for the nurses, then got the computer on. Checked the Emails first.

2Tue03One from Iceland telling of some red potato chips they are selling. I found the idea appetising. Never heard of Bergerac Potatoes, I might go on to Bulwell after the doctors and see if I can get some to try?

Carried out the Health Checks next. The weight had shot up a bit, but all else looked okay to me:

Sys 151, Dia 76, Pul 91, T 35.8 & Weight 14.82.

Another wee-wee.

Started to update the diaries then began this one. Did some WordPressing. Off for another wee-wee. (Getting worrying all this wee-weeing? Hehe!)

2Tue05Yet another wee-wee.

I decided that if I am to get some of those Purple Chips later, will get some pod peas podded and into the slow-cooker with some demerara sugar in them, and if I’ll remember. I can turn them on when I leave. Good idea?

Unbelievably, I had another wee-wee! Problems here perhaps? I’d better mention this to the nurse later.

Soon be time to do the ablutions, so a not to be late setting off on the hobble into Carrington for the blood test. A quick bash on Facebooking.

Updated some photo albums, then shot off (Well, hobbled) to the wetroom for the good in-depth ablutionisationing session and a wee-wee.

2Tue06Got the new coat on and collected the bag and set out on the hobble to Carrington and the surgery.

As I passed the Chestnut Trees, the damage caused by the winds overnight and this morning were visible. Made me feel a bit sad.

Onward and down Winchester Street Hill into Sherwood and left up and over the long incline 2Tue07and down into Carrington. The rain didn’t stop at all, but it was far less severe than earlier, but the winds continued to be high and vigorous.

Logged in at surgery and sat having a go at the crossword book. Actually did rather well progress wise for a change. The nurse called me in. We had a chinwag while she took the blood, gave her her nibbles and was off. The nurse had a bit of a job stopping the bleeding afterwards.

Gave the reception team their bag of fodder to gnaw on as I left the building, out into the now heavier rain and winds.

I thought to myself, it would be advantageous to me if I went to the Arnold Iceland store instead of the one at Bulwell, then I could catch an L9 bus back all the way to the flats. Walked to the bus stop and caught a bus into Arnold. Got the crossword book out again. Looked up and realised I’d gotten onto the wrong bus. Humph! I had to drop off well away from where I intended to, and walk for about a mile up and down the hills, in the 2Tue08rain and wind back to Arnold.

Oh, I was annoyed with me! Tut!

The torrential rains now were stopping me using the camera with nowhere to shelter, until I got to the open market.

Purchased some fresh pod garden peas from here.

Checked on the time, and if was to catch the L9, haste was needed at the Iceland store in getting the Purple Chips. It took me a while to find the chip freezer, and I bought some mini pork & Pickle pies and a pack of two beef patties en route to finding the chips, of which I bought two packets.

To the checkout and paid using the Visa by swiping, as it was only a total spend of £5 exactly.

Hobbled as speedily as the now aching feet would allow me, and got to the bus stop with three minutes to spare!

2Tue09As the bus arrived in Sherwood, two fellow tenants got on the bus.

Ethel and Roy, it was like a family meeting with much joviality and banter ricocheting between the three of us.

Quite cheered me up, that session did.

Back at the flats, all three of us struggled with the gusting winds from the bus to the foyer. Roy told me that the winds on his 14th floor were howling through to noisily this morning.

Got into the apartment, took a wee-wee, midday medications and got the oven warming up for the chips.

2Tue09aThe computer on and updated this diary. An hour or so later put the chips into the oven and set the alarm for 15 minutes.

Had a wee-wee. A quick blast on Facebook, then got the meal served up.

Had to cook the chips for awhile longer, still soft.

2Tue11Got the meal served up!

The purple chips looked really odd and out of place.

They did not have much taste to them. Sorry that I got two packs now. Tsk!

Had a rinse and a wee-wee and noticed one hell of a bruise on the top of the leg?

Fell asleep, woke up feeling frigid. Tried to make use of the Porcelain Throne, but only succeeded in getting things blocked again, and had a battle that needed patience and gave up after a long time trying.

Got the Gogglebox on and fell asleep again. Woke up needing a wee-wee, and the phone chirped-up. Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and answered it. T’was from the Thrombosis & Anticoagulation test centre, telling me my INR level was… wait for it bearing in mind the target is 3.5… now, 9.1! Argh! She said not to take any Warfarin tonight – which just goes to display my luck, I’d taken the Warfarin already! Warned me to take care shaving, of banging, cutting or scraping myself and if I did, I must contact the three 9’s for assistance.

Also, I must go to the doctor’s surgery and have another INR blood test on Thursday. I explained that I didn’t think they could fit me in at such short notice, and she said they will have to!

I got the computer back on and sent an Email to the surgery.

2Tue12

Time to take the greatest of efforts not to stub my toe for a few days and be weary and steady when shaving. Humph! No wonder I feel so cold now, with the blood being so thin. Thinking of whether I should go out for tomorrow’s Tenant’s meal or not?

Tried again to make use of the Porcelain Throne. No movement at all, even after a long effort during which I found there are 489 tiles in the wetroom. Haha!

Updating this diary and the surgery rang me in response to the Email and the Anticoagulation new dosage. It is the same doses as last week? I explained about the call from the hospital and being told to book in for a blood test for Thursday – she said no, it has got to be for tomorrow! She stated that they could get me in for 1130hrs – I told her about the Tenant’s Meal in Arnold at midday, and she made an appointment for Thursday at 1000hrs?

When I put the details on the calendar, I realised I had not left myself much time to get to and from the hospital tests for the Deep Vein Thrombosis? Oh, heck!

Still, thinking about this, it goes a way to explain the increase in Dizzy Derek visits… I think? The wee-weeing so often; thought the thin blood might have something to do with this, but maybe not.

Feeling very confused and concerned with the lack of movement from the innards, and feeling cold, I’ve actually put on my dressing gown now, the rain has stopped and the evening sunshine came out.

Going to try and get my head down early, even for me, but after all the kerfuffle, I didn’t feel tired anymore? Up for a wee-wee, washed up and got the Gogglebox on again.

The winds still howling away outside, the rain a falling and me having to take extra care to avoid physical Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplops… Is it asking a lot of me innit?

The dozing soon started, drifted off and w2Tue12ahen I woke ten minutes later I recalled a War & Peace length dream and wrote some bits down on the pad. In the morning when I got around to updating this diary, the memories written down once again were unreadable. Bits I could recall were few, involved an Austin A30 van and my head without a torso climbing out of a pram? Did this graphic for a bit of fun.

Dozed repeatedly through the programmes I wanted to watch, went for a wee-wee and turned off the telly and sat there thinking will I be able to get to sleep properly with so many nod-offs…. Zzzz!

Inchcock – Thursday 20th April 2017

4Thur05

Thursday 20th April 2017

Macedonian: 20 четвртокот Април 2017 година

Woke at 0410hrs: Bits of a dream lingered for a while but departed my brain within seconds. These were replaced with the determination to get the washing done as soon as possible.

0420hrs: Out of the £300 second-hand recliner. No washing, medicationalisationing or kettle put on – I gathered the laundry bag, made sure the accoutrements were added to it and hobbled down to the laundry room. Still feeling bad in and about myself for the joke going wrong with the lovely hygiene gals being upset. Got the washer going and returned back up and got the computer going and started the diaries.

4Thur05.0455hrs: Back down and moved the stuff from the washing machine to the dryer and got that started. Some notices had been moved on the board

Some notices had been moved on the board.

One about Repair Priorities. And the now classified list, with the new times, shown.

4Thur06The other was just a reminder that repairs are now the Tenant’s Responsibility to report their own repairs.

I thought about the difficulty I had hearing the person on the other end of the line last time I did this and was prompted to remember that I have got to search for the hearing aid tubes and if I can find them, replace the broken one on the right-hand aid.

Up and did the Health Checks then started this blog off.

4Thur07Looking good, even the weight is down a bit.

Down to collect the dried laundry – but oh dear… it was not drie4Thur08d fully at all! But the cycle back on and back up the lift.

Did some WordPressing then I returned back down to the laundry room, to find the clothing no drier than it was before?

Tsk!

Got it folded and cleaned the filter out.

4Thur09

Back up to the apartment and got both of the airers utilises as well as the airing cupboard. In an effort to get the things dry enough to wear later.

Made a brew and took the medications.

To the porcelain throne and only Haemorrhoid Harold was bleeding, The Senna’s had done their job.

Back on the computer and updated this diary.

4Thur11Got an email about the Morrison delivery on its way. Delivery arrived.Got the Canadian

Got the Canadian Buckwood Maple Syrup in, I plan to use it in plain yoghourt, but I will ask some of the Canadian TFZers on Facebook if they have any suggestions for its use too.

Also, thought it wise to get some more of those horrendous safety knickers in stock.

Being as Little Inchy’s lesion has started bleeding again, better safe than sorry eh?

4Thur10They sent large instead of extra large this time, I didn’t notice until I took the photograph.

Tsk!

I’ll use one today after the ablutions and see if they will fit, or if I will fit into them.

Hehehe!

Embarrassing I know, but they can save an awful lot of cleaning up in the long run.

Got onto CorelDraw sorting again. Spent hours on it once more. The CorelPaint crashed on me at one time, but I think it might have been due to my getting the shakes just as I was selecting an option, and hit it twice?

Opened it up again and all worked.

Had to remember to keep moving the damp clothes around on the airers.

Eventually gave up on CorelDraw defaulting and finished off the diary and updated this one to here.

1Mon001Did a poem to go with WordPress, I called it: The Nape of Existence. A bit of fun, even it was true. Haha!

Did this graphic to use as a header.

Link: The Nape of Existence

Posted it off.

Then I got around to catching up on Facebook. Hours and hours it took, but all in the name of depriving me of suffering from depression… Blimey, Did I say that?

Nipped in to have a wee-wee before setting off to the Tenants Meeting Social Hour, and, 2Tue05. The scar had opened badly on Little Inchy and the blood had flowed. Had a right mess to clean up and medicate! Took me that long the meeting was only ten minutes away from ending by the time I got there! Grumph! Hand time to pose with the others for a photo for the builders? Give the nibbles out and the raffle prizes to Obergruppenfureress Penny to use next week, and everyone was leaving.

I got myself back to the abode and checked Little Inchy and he was at it again. Tsk!

05Thu12Made a cuppa, and saw that I had left the Strawberry flavoured vanilla filled suckers delivered earlier on the window ledge, instead of putting them in the freezer!

Another 2Tue05! All eight were now liquid in bags that leaked!

I was not having a good day at all. I was already depressed with my humour cock-up, the laundry room farce and having things drying all over the place, virtually missed the Social Hour and the Virus scar bleeding again. Not good! I could not muster any enthusiasm or interest at all. Then I remembered I’ve got to do the Facebooking. But even that didn’t do much to cheer me up.

I moved the clothes around on the airers, getting some of the thicker ones out of the airing cupboard and putting the removed ones into it – but automatically as if I had resigned myself to everything going wrong, and had no idea how to stop them. Odd?

Made a mug of tea and got on Facebook.

Did some more CorelDraw 2017 updating.

Feeling morose, annoyed with me and thinking silly thoughts, although at the time they were perfectly logical thoughts.

A friend contacted me and suggested I tell the doctor everything. But this will not take away the stupid decisions and practical jokes gone wrong or self-loathing, will it? I appreciated so much his contacting me, but the shadow of hopelessness loomed. Never felt like this before.

I sat a while thinking about things, the negative thoughts mounted and soon the brain was in freefall – I had to stop myself getting into a rut of… well, I don’t know.

I’m going to the surgery on Monday for the INR blood test, and promised Lynton I’d book myself in, to see the Doctor Vindla. Musn’t let him or myself down after he’s taken the time, bother and shown such compassion for me. (Hope that’s the right word?).

Not been out, apart from on the site for days now.

4Thur04Made a meal.

Threw away the hunters sausages after one bite, far too fatty.Didn’t eat the cheese.

Didn’t eat the cheese.

Thought I might start nibbling again later, but only had a bag of Marmite crisps, so depressed with things.

Foolish thoughts came and went, suddenly the balcony was tempting.

I might get this diary done, then stop doing them until something is sorted, I do not want to broadcast doom and gloom, I want to make people smile and laugh. Finding this hard myself limits the scope.

Got a shower shave and did the teeth, in sort of automatic mode?

More terrible thoughts permeated the brain as I settled down.

Hopefully, the inner torment will somehow ease.

Inchcock – Wednesday 5th April 2017: Bank Farce Progress? Just maybe?

3Wed001

Wednesday 5th April 201

Swahili: Jumatano ya 5 April 2017

Woke at 0425hrs: The swelling legs had gone down a bit and were far less painful this morning. I think Anne Gyna knew this, cause she was giving me some nasty painful stabs, bless her.

Got out of the £300 second-hand recliner with little bother, and into the kitchen to put the kettle on, turned on the computer and then off to the porcelain throne. Oh dear. Haemorrhoid Harold had and was still bleeding a fair bit, but not enough to make me discard any clothing. Cleaned up and medicated what needed medicating.

Made a nice strong mug of tea and took the medications. At this point, the legs started to give me some bother again. Tsk! Found a note on the 1960 second-hand E-Plan sideboard, with scribble about a dream on it? How it found it’s way onto the sideboard I wasn’t sure?

Got the WordPress going to finish yesterday’s post off, and realised I must have got up last night and wrote about the dream, cause the writing was there in front of me in the diary? A good job I did, because I could never have gleaned so much detail from the scribble I’d wrote.

The tea had gone cold, so I went to make another one. Did the health-checks while I was in there. Dia 169 – Sys 75 – Pulse 89 – Temp 38.1 C, and the best of the lot, Weight 14.75, down at last! I’ll do it again later if I remember, cause I’d not long got rid of a hell of a dollop on the throne.

Remembered I’d got two deliveries coming this morning from Asda and Morrison. So had a wash and changed into the day clothes so as not to answer the door in my jammies.

Finished off yesterday’s diary and started this one off. Realised I’d not put on the picture of last evening’s sky, so I took another one of it.

3Wed01

The Copse is getting thicker now, I’ll soon be able to have a wander through it in search of flora and fauna to photographalise.

I’ve ordered a new kettle in one of the deliveries, cause the one I have seems to be resisting my descaling efforts nowadays.

3Wed03

Had a bash on Facebook for a few hours. The Morrison delivery arrived, followed by the Asda (Walmart) one.

Overdone it again!

Made another brew and weighed myself again… 2lb up on three hours ago and I have not eaten anything? Grumph! Mind you, I can feel the legs and ankles swelling again?

Fodder

Graphic created for the TFZer site. Took me hours with one, but it ain’t too bad.

Got the washing ready and down to the laundry room. Fellow tenant Paul was there, had a quick chinwagging session.

3Wed05

Back up to the flat and finished the above graphic.

Postman called with the Stat pension letter.

I opened it with trepidation… they had got the right Postcode on it! But the wrong detail sheet! I swore so much!

3Wed07

Down once more to collect the washing. Cleaned the filter.

Back in flat, put the togs away and called Olive to see how she was and tell her about the continuing banking farce.

I can visit her tomorrow, in the morning.

Got ready and went down to the bank, just hoping this State Pension form with the correct address would be suitable for the job!

Feeling a bit down for some reason, and I’d been so high earlier?

The s3Wed08aun was shining, and the wind a blowing as I departed on my hobble to and down Winchester Street Hill and to the bank to see Lisa, the new manager.

At the end of Winchester Street, three rascals speeding down the hill on the pavement forced me to move across the road. Little varmints!

Fair queue when I got into the bank. Only one on the counter. Ten minutes or so later, Lisa opened another window, tended to the chap in front of me and another 10 minutes later, she beckoned me over to the counter. I managed to keep those behind waiting another 20 minutes as she sorted the paperwork out and asked for some forms they had already taken six weeks ago and photocopied, so she could photocopy them!?!?

She ‘Thought’ the newly arrived State Pension breakdown detail letter should be acceptable. She will ring me and if it goes through and let me know. Again, I asked if it would be possible to email me, but no. Told her about the Doctor being off sick so I might not get the required details from her, and that is if she agrees to do them for me, no obligation on her part to do it.

So, I said I would drop in at the bank, on Monday afternoon to find out what is happening. I am not in an unexpectant, but rather a nervous frame of mind now, no confidence left.

Peeped into the Birds Cake Shop window, jus tin case they had any of the Fresh Cream Iced Buns in, but they hadn’t. Naturally, I took this in good spirits.

Cried on my way up to the bus stop. (Not really, but I thought you might find this funny and like a laugh?)

3Wed08Back at the flats, I was nearly blown off my feet by the wind.

The sun was still bright, but when I got back up to the apartment, I could hear the winds howling. But the scenery was gorgeous to look at.

I couldn’t get my head around the fact that I had not bought any fodder, well, anything at all while out. Another odd sensation for me. Hehe!

3Wed09Updated the diary for Monday next on my Google page.

Looks like a busy Monday coming up.

Updated this diary after making a jolly strong mug of tea.

The legs and ankles were I think less swollen now, hurting all the same and irritating Arthur Itis, though. Humph!

Took the potatoes out of the saucepan, ready to have with a cold meal later on. (Or Not?)

Not sure what I’m going to have with them mind, but there is plenty to choose from.

Put the Lumix camera and mobile phone on charge and visited the porcelain again.

Haemorrhoid Harold leaking just a bit, Little Inchy not bleeding, but sore.

Popped on Facebook being as I was amazingly not too tired.

Did some WordPressing.

3Wed10Took the evening medications, finished on Facebooking and got the fodder prepared.

I accidentally had two of the lemon drizzles afterwards.

A mere misfortune that could happen to anyone. Ahem!

This meal consisted of mini-pork and caramelised onion, mushrooms, beetroot, boiled potatoes (Not done in Soy Sauce, Orb has advised me not to use this for a while as it contains a lot of sodium) sliced and drizzled with American potato seasoning, tomato puree, Vegetable sage & onion with herbs slices and soft cheese portions one with mushroom, one extra strong and one with Gouda. Oh, and the Lemon Drizzles and a banana. Nice! 9.5/10.

Tired, but I think the legs and ankles are reducing in size and water content again. Fingers crossed.

Soon nodded off.
