Amharic: እሁድ, 22 ኤፕሪል 2018

0635hrs: Woke up, after around six hours sleep. Last night I could not get to kip for seven hours later than usual. The grey-cells had been doing their thing, off pondering, fretting, almost panicking about all and sundry. Thinking back to the things involved in my first meandering mind deviations, I reckoned bonkersness was looming.

When I did eventually nod-off, you would not believe the information, questions, anxieties and apprehensions I mused over. My having fallen asleep, there was no suspended consciousness; The almost instant dream, felt like things had continued from my earlier unsettling wanderlusting, into my subconscious nocturnal nightmare. Anything possible to worry over seemed to arrive and join the queue to be analysed, questioned and a new fear of failure developed. Talk about a lachrymose dream!

I felt all out-of-sorts, and for some reason terribly lonely, and lay there a while gathering together some form of willpower to tackle against the lingering worries. I got out of the £300 second-hand recliner with as much ease as I have ever done before?

Whoopsie O1 As I arrived in the kitchen and the mind began to concentrate on what I was doing after I stubbed my toe against the cabinet corner. I think I ought in a way, to be glad of the pain; for it helped take my mind off of the last bits of mental-brooding.

I got the kettle on the boil and did the Health Checks.

7Sun05

The sphygmomanometer was reluctant to work again, and it took me several attempts to get the readings. The Sys and Temp had dipped a bit, but still within range methinks. Made the tea and took the medications.

As I opened the spare room window as far as I could, they still have security cables attached to prevent them opening fully. As a precaution against any residents dropping anything out through the window, and hitting workers on the hoists. Fair enough, that!
7Sun4bThe space available allows just enough room for me to thread camera and one hand out far enough to take a blind-shot photo.

I think the forecasted thundery showers for last night, may have arrived. For the petrichor emanating from the grass, trees and bushes, smelt so beautiful.

The innards spontaneously rumbled, so, off I limped to the Porcelain Throne. Back to being a messy affair again this morning. Little Inchies fungal lesion had been bleeding too. Hence, much cleaning up, and a bit of 7Sun06cmedicationalisationing needed doing afterwards. I took a Dia-Limit capsule and an extra Codeine Phosphate 30g to ease the pain from the poor old stubbed-toe. Atsuv!

Whoopsie O1 I decided after looking down at the aforementioned wounded stubbed-toe, it had been bleeding. Tsk! So, off to the wetroom I went to get some antiseptic cream to put on it, and cleaned it up, the poor thing. Haha! I’d pulled the nail back a bit; this caused the loss of blood. Alright now, though, it’s stopped leaking.

7Sun07Back again to the kitchen to make another brew. Decided to sort out next weeks medication pots while in there.

Whoopsie O1 I dropped a Bisoprolol Fumarate (Beta-blocker) tablet while filling the pots. I reckon I spent at least ten-minutes searching around for it. I checked in between the cupboard and cooker, behind the door, in both waste bins (Recycle and Waste), in the pots and saucepans, counter tops, the whole floor without any success. Had the aliens or ghosts taken it? Hehehe! Tsk-tsk!

I went on to completing yesterday’s diary! This task took me over two-hours, but I got it finished by 1100hrs.

Then went onto updating this one. Sister Jane rang while I was editing it. We had a natter which I enjoyed.

The noise from BBJ up above was far less than last Saturday. This pleases me beyond appreciation.

I then went on WordPress reading, then did some commenting.

Went to make another mug of Assam tea, and: I found the missing Beta-blocker tablet I dropped hours ago. Guess where? It was in my dressing gown pocket! Beats me too, how it got in there! Hahaha!

Moved onto CorelDraw and did another diary page header graphic. Took me too long, now I’m tired and weary again. Poor old thing. Hehe!

7Sun33aGot the nosh started.

Started dozing off and waking every few minutes repeatedly, for hours. With more than is usual wee-wees here and there.

Uncomfortable few hours, until I eventually drifted off for around five hours unbroken sleep.

Inchcock Today – Monday 19th March 2018

Monday 19th March 2018

Gujarati: સોમવાર 19 મી માર્ચ 2018

0200hrs: I lay trying to recall a dream I think I’d just been having. I was in a swimming pool, filled with Engraulidae, with several people walking around throwing water on the anchovies from an aspergillum. On a tannoy system someone was asking me to answer quiz-like questions I knew nothing about and could not give an answer too. The voice said I must provide a solution or a fish would be killed for every one I fail to respond to. I was a right blatherskite in answering and made no sense at all, but the voice accepted every muttering I spouted as being the correct response? The recall gets very vague here, I have no idea what happened after this. I thought about getting back to sleep to see if I could get back the same dream.

0230hrs: The need for a wee-wee prevented me doing this. I disentangled my short, plump blubbery mass from the £300 second-hand recliner, and off to the wet room for my wee-wee. Far less bleeding this morning from the fungal lesion.

Washed and cleaned up and into the kitchen to see what the weather was like.

There were no signs of any snow falling. But the already settled dollop made this photograph rather pretty, I thought.

An Active-Warning was on the BBC site for Ice in Nottingham. When I took this photo of below the kitchen window, I could see they were right, too

The glistening does not show up in the picture, but it was unmistakably going to be risky walking underfoot on roads or sidewalks when I get out later.

I made a mug of extra-strong tea, then wondered if this was such a good idea when I had to return to the wet room for another wee-wee. It dawned on me then, no signs of needing the Porcelain Throne yet? I sensed problems might arise later.

Coming out of the wet room, I noticed something had been posted through the letterbox and had floated over and under the radiator. Being careful not to bang my head against the radiator this time, I bent down to retrieve the notice… and clouted my elbow on the heater instead. Hehe!

The leaflet was a warning of what was about to occur in the next stage of the flats upgrading. Then pamphlet was dated Friday 16th March, but I’m sure it only arrived yesterday, on Sunday? Unless I had not noticed it under the radiator? It included:

Tuesday 20th March (1-day notice given)  And a PM arrival. That will help me to get some sleep a lot. To:

  • Tuesday 20 March PM: Check area is clear to ALL windows – Check access to balcony area to demolish the wall and install protection screen.
  • Warning that the day before your windows are to be installed, you will see operatives on the balcony removing the outer leaf of the wall – they will not need access.
  • Wednesday 21 March AM: Install protection screen, Demolish wall, remove old windows and door and replace with new.

This will prevent me going out today, as moving all the gear and furniture to give them access to the windows and balcony is not going to be an easy job for me to do. So I’ll have to work slowly and carefully on the task to get it all done in time. Hippy Hilda, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna permitting, of course. Feeling a little apprehensive about this, but its got to be one. I’ll nip to the Obergruppenfurhress Wardens Shed and get clarification on what need doing around 0900hrs.

All this hassle does me no good. I fret and panic nowadays with change, pathetic, I, know. Just sorting the paperwork will take hours.

I admire how some of the tenants have coped with having their apartments done. Maybe it is easier for the couples in situ, than the single occupants, but hey, what do I know about couples! (Desirous plea for someone to adopt me here, I think? Haha!)

Back and got the Health Checks done and medications were taken. Made up the INR record on Excel for the week.

Got the computer on and finished off yesterdays blog. Rushing about a bit now so I can make time before I fall to sleep, to get as much work done on moving the furniture, boxes, wardrobes, bags, cleaning material, stuff off of the shelves. And, to file and store them, run through the paperwork etc. In readiness for the window workers arrival, and get it moved into the files boxes. The grey-cells are racing away, but the body is refusing to go at the same rate of knots! When I finish starting this diary off, I’ll make a start on the front room rearranging, cause that will take the longest time to get done. The most-gruelling work will be the unused apart from as a junk room, bedroom. Not looking forward to that, its bound to set one of the ailments off.

Got this post started up to here.

A quick blast on the WordPress Reader. Then the comments were read and replied to. There are some great posts on the site today.

Facebooking tried. Slow, but got through it.

Started to create a TFZer graphic.

Bondi Beach, with the adorable Marie and me in the rocks. Roxie is keeping her eye on the nosh I’m carrying, of course.

Tended to the ablutions and medicating procedures next.

Got myself wrapped up and off out to the Obergruppefureresses Temporary Wood and plastic shed, to ask advice on the two-day builders visit, and to check if the weather conditions out there would permit me to get out today.

As I opened the door at the end of the flat’s entrance into the elevator foyer. The icy-wind blew in my face, making me shudder and shiver a bit. Brr!

I could hear the wind blowing too. Things did not bode too well for my planned get about session today.

A closer look at where the wind was coming in from, revealed a two layer of iced-up snow in the bottom holding tray under the slatted vents that go through to outside.

With this, and the upcoming window and balcony work starting tomorrow for two days, I thought my immediate prospects of any warmth in the flat to be minimal.

Down in the elevator, it took a while some workers were bringing up window frames etc.

As I departed the building out of the foyer doors, the sight that greeted me, made my mind up straight away, I will not be going out anywhere.

As I got beyond what little bit of cover there was from the scaffolding, the snow and ice made me shiver even more!

Thre weren’t many people about, and they were taking their time on the lethal surface of the road. My slip-defying creep along to the shed, took ages, as I tried to avoid the worst patches of sheet ice.

I ended up walking on the road along Chestnut Walk.

I must have looked a little odd as I made my way along.

A lot of ice was under the snow, and some it compacted. Finding any free bits to walk on was impossible until I was close to the Warden’s Hut.

Things looked terribly bleak out there.

I ended up walking in the middle of the road on a bit of ice-free patches. But of course along came a car wishing to exit the site, and it was back to hobbling on the ice for me.

About 0910hrs, I arrived at the hut, I entered and the Obergruppenfurheress Wardens Deana and Julie were in their office, both on the phone. Cath, the on-site resident Liasion Officer, was not present. But about six builders or window fitters were, they were having something to eat and a warming drink before starting work.

I waited a while until they had finished their communications, and went in. They seemed happy enough. It must be hectic for them on a Monday, with the weekend’s problems to discover and sort-out. I mentioned the noise from Herbert. I found out his real name is John. He is a lot younger than me, and a big bloke. This cheered me up no end!

I asked what needed to be done in readiness for the two-day frenetic, tumultuous work mess and session. “Just leave free access to all the windows and balcony”. Julie asked if they should go and sort me out now. I declined the offer. (I regret doing that now!) Thanked them, handed a fancy cup over for the Residents Raffle and said my farewells.

As I left the shed, the ground around was littered with icicles that had come off of the roof. Some builder chaps were walking along spreading grit on the roadway. Much appreciated by me, I can tell you.

As I made my way precariously back to the flat, I recalled Mary and Cindy telling on different occasions, that there new balcony and everyone’s, was left unsealed for two days, as were the windows. With -4°c forecast for the next two nights, the gale coming in through the outside vents and having mine done… I felt trepidation and the knowledge that I was going to be very cold shortly in the flat! Strewth, it’s cold enough now!

Entered the foyer, made way through several window fitters and their glass and frames and got in the lift.

A bit of sun broke through the clouds as got in the kitchen. I was in a thoroughly disconcerted state of mind at this point. I did the Health Checks Again! Realised what the time was, before I took the medications, luckily.

A tad concerned about this, because I had not had any Dizzies or Funny Turns at all? Something else to mention to the Doctor. That is if the weather will let me get to see her on Wednesday.

Took this photograph, of the hoist below, where the workers were making there way up to remove the outer leaf of my front and bedroom walls. Hence, my fear of getting too cold when it is done, cause apparently, it stays like this for several days before the work is completed. Those who have had theirs done inform me. Not to mention the horrendous noise they have to make doing it.

I set about sorting the access to the bedroom (Spare room) and titivating things a bit. I was doing so well, then Dizzy Dennis gave me a visit. I pressed on afterwards to finish I hope, the clearance. But gave up thinking of doing any more.

Made a brew and got the computer on to update this post. I don’t know how I will manage for the next few days, cause I’ll be in the worker’s way and the dust and noise would prevent me working on the computer anyway. Fingers crossed, but I might have to give it a break for a while, and I do love doing this blog. I’ll see how it goes.

Updated to this point, and went on CorelDraw to do some Diary top graphics.

Got this one of Thomas finished and posted off to the site.

Nipped on Facebook, but things were sticking and oh so slow again. Came off and back to CorelDrawing.

So disappointing!

Back CorelDrawing.

Completed Sandies Latest Film.

Then got the nosh all ready for gobbling up.

I struggled to stay awake while I was cooking this meal.

1Mon09And when it came to settling in the £300 second-hand chair to watch a DVD and eat the meal, it was the same. In fact, I think I might have fallen asleep while consuming it.

I wobbled off into the kitchen to wash the plate and cutlery. Feeling remarkably contented for some unknown reason?

1Mon10The sky looked so beautiful tonight.

Feeling sure that I would get some sleep, due to my feeling drowsy so early, to be on safe side, I put the TV on. Anticipating the arrival of the land of Nod.

But no, somehow I stayed awake through nearly a full episode of ‘Hustle’!

I woke, hearing noises. But could not identify what they were or where they were from?

I got up to have a wee-wee, and had to change PPs due to some bleeding from the haemorrhoids, stubbed my toe on the way back, got down in the recliner, and knocked the bottle of lemon and lime spring water off of the Ottoman, swore to myself, got up and kitchen-towelled the carpet and got my head down again. Off to sleep in seconds, hours later than usual, but still.

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 21st February 2018

Wednesday 21st February 2018

Haitian Creole: Mèkredi 21 Fevriye 2018

0145hrs: I woke up irritated with myself, for not being able to recall any details of the dream-filled night. Just feelings of them all being of frustrations and humiliations?

As lay there on the £300 second-hand recliner, pondering on whether I should get up or not, the rumbling and grumbling from the innards encouraged me to exit the chair immediately and make my way to the Porcelain Throne post haste.

Getting out of the recliner, I trod on a cheese curl, from the nocturnal nibbling, making a jolly right mess to clean up.

In a rush to get to the wet room, I stubbed my toe on the Ottoman.

I got in, panicky, thinking I might not make it in time, I whipped off the Protection Pants, and the blood sprayed all over the place from my breaking the dried blood from Inchies Lesion. The floor, my jammies and feet, the sink, the bowl, the toilet rolls and medications, the wall, all got sprayed. Oh, I was in a right pickle!

Which got even worse, when I didn’t make it in time! Feeling frustrated, irritated and embarrassed. The evacuation was Trotsky affected too.

By the time I had cleaned everything up, it was 0240hrs! Antisepticated, all areas, mopped up, cleaned the wall, floor, me and new PPs adorned. In a way, I was glad that these Whoopsies had occurred close to each other and early in the day, and foolishly thought things would undoubtedly improve. What a plonka!

To the main room, and cleared up the crushed cheesy curl mess.

Well pleased with myself, with my getting things sorted and cleaned up. I took this photo of me in the front room waving to you all in the reflection of the window, with the outside view, scaffolding, lights etcetera as a backdrop; before going to the kitchen to do the Health Checks and take the medications.

The sphygmomanometer again refused to work several times before it did so.

A slight rise in febrility and the Sys was still just a little low. But none of the readings perplexed me.

All the time lost with the cleaning up from the Whoopsiedangleplops bothered me though. This meant less time to get these diaries, WordPress Reading and Facebooking done before I had to get to the surgery for the Harold Haemorrhoids examination and Warfarin blood test done. Then I realised the appointments started at 1020hrs, not the usual 0800hrs, so panic over.

I made a grand tasting drink of Extra Strong English Breakfast tea, in the new second-hand mug.

I love this mug, cause it is cumbersome but heavy, so less chance of knocking it over when I get the shakes, the handle is easy to use, and I think it keeps the brew hotter for longer.

Took it with me to the computer, and started to update the Tuesday post and get it finished and posted on on WordPress.

Checked the emails and comments via Gmail. Then made a start on this diary.

Went to the WordPress Reader. Of course, this meant closing Firefox and opening Chrome, cause Firefox will not let me access the reader on WordPress for some reason, and then back to Firefox, because Chrome will not let me save any work on WordPress! I blame Bill Gates! Hehe!

Went on to Facebooking next.

Had to get the ablutions and medicationalisationing done them. Got them done with time to spare. So I sorted the three bags of waste out and took them to the refuse chute on the way out.

Got in the lift and was greeted with dried mud on the floor. I hadn’t noticed that yesterday.

I poddled to the Obergruppenfurhresses Cabin. Meeting Mary from the 6th floor en route and we had a little natter as we plodded along.

I popped into the hut to inform either Warden Julie and or Deana that I had put their Thursday nibbles (Sourdough bread and bottle of water) in the fridge for them yesterday, earlier than usual. But neither was present or available. There were some blokes from the heater makers getting ready to lie to anyone who attended and tell them how reliable and cheap to run they were. Tsk! Welsh William, Roy and two unknown to me tenants as well.

I departed and set off on my hobble into Sherwood, then Carrington to the surgery for my blood test and Harold Haemorrhoid examination.

Only a little walk for me today. The red line is where I caught the bus back into Sherwood. The blue lines indicate the walk from the flats to Sherwood, then to Carrington for the medicationalisationing. Hehehe!

Another gloomy day looked to be in the offing as I got part way down the Winchester Street Hill.

I appreciated how it seemed so quiet. When a dirty-great lorry passed, and the driver jammed his vehicles anchors on, and I didn’t hear him.

I’d forgot to put the Hearing Aids in again! Sad really!

A little further down the hill, I saw the gates that I think come out at the end of the secret pathway from opposite the apartments. I wish I could find out for sure somehow.

I have inquired of the other tenants who had lived there longer than me, but they didn’t know the path existed at all.

Got onto Mansfield Road and turned left up to the incline.

Had a nosey come window shopping at a few stores en route.

Up to the crest and over the hill. The plates of meat were stinging.

Where amazingly, I remembered to look for the flowers in a garden that I promised Orbb, a friend on the internet, I’d take a photo of them if they were out.

But they were not in bloom. Although, buds were forming on the bush already.

The ailments were all being kind to me.

Onwards and down to the surgery. Where I made an unfortunate discovery. Nurse Nicole will no longer be working anymore at this surgery! My mood changed to one of instant depression!

I booked myself in and sat down, got the crossword book out, but could not concentrate properly. The appointment time came and went. Then the nurse consulted the reception staff, who had to call me several times before I heard them. The new nurse was not in a happy mood at all, her running behind and me forgetting the hearing aids was terrible enough. When she heard I’d also forgotten the Anticoagulation Clinic form that I should fill in each week as well… I was given the “You old prat’ sneer and treatment and was told off several times. She reminded me not to forget things next week, in no uncertain terms. Oh, dearie me! I felt like I’d been given a threnody. Tsk!

I departed and joined the waiting area for Harold’s problems to be sorted. Then found out it was not this week. I did feel a right fool again!

Feeling elegiac, and dejectedly melancholy, I left the nibbles on the desk for the receptionists and departed.

I was feeling so low that it didn’t bother me; this car being parked on the pavement. I crossed the road and caught a bus back into Sherwood. Dolorous, and annoyed with my self.

Off the bus and morosely over the crossing and limped up over the hill and down to the Woodthorpe Grange Park gates.

Up the footpath. Hardly any dogs or people about today. I hobbled, still depressed with how things had gone, and to the top and turned right where the Tree Copse was.

The Copse cheered me a little, as I noticed some greenery coming through.

I pressed on and down the muddy gravel pathway, to the entrance to the flats.

I didn’t see a soul anywhere. No workers, no wardens, no residents.

Got in the apartment and took a wee-wee. Did the Health Checks, took the medicines and pain gelled the tender areas.

I cheered a bit more when I remembered I had the beef ready meal and some chips to have for the nosh later.

Got the computer going and updated this rubbish to here.

Then did the Morrison order for next Thursday, St David’s Day.

Health Checks and medical needs tended to.

Not the best of days for me.

But I did enjoy the Asda ready made Minced Beef Hotpot. Despite the meal being so unhealthy, according to the intake listing showing three in red! The annoying thing about it was they were on offer at 3 for £6.

Which means I have to eat all three before they go out of date!

But, the taste was delicious. I’ll have to eat more healthy noshes in between having these I suppose? Tsk!

I had a rinse and removed the plaster that the frightening surgery nurse had applied after taking the blood from the arm. I’ve never had such a bruise after a blood test before!

Still, no pain with it at all.

I washed the pots and got settled to watch some more ‘New Tricks’ DVD episodes. Stayed awake for both of them, then turned to the TV to watch ‘Law & Order’. First set of commercials and I was off into the land of nod!

Inchcock Today: Saturday 21st October 2017: Papplewick Pumping Station – Overdid it, not well now. Tsk!

Saturday 21st October 2017

Luxembourgish: Samschden 21. Oktober 2017

0145hrs: I stirred and lay there pondering on the dream I’d been having, what few bits I could recall faded into the ether in seconds. All I could sense was they were not happy dreams.

My body wanted to pandiculate, but the ailments (Anne Gyna and Arthur Itis) prevented my being brave enough to attempt to.

I thought of my escapades Whoopsiedangleplops and Accifauxpas I’d suffered from the buses this past week and some ideas came into the grey-cell box for an ode I might try to do about them.

I struggled to get my scarily pantagruelian body-mass out of the £300 second-hand recliner. So much so, I went to weigh this whale-like two-legged temple of overweight Falstaffian look-a-like old chap. Oh dear!

Made a brew and did the Health Checks and took last nights medications that I forgot to take them then. Must remember to take the morning ones later. Tsk!

Made a start on this diary up to here then finalised yesterdays. This work took a while with all the photographicalisations needing sorting. I did not enjoy doing this one, too many Whoopsiedangleplops needed explaining and trying to get the complicated scenarios clear was not easy.

Made a Diary top-graphic and checked the Emails. Then did some WordPress reading. Got some good comments today, and returned my thoughts to them.

Made another mug of tea and took the morning medications.

Took this photo out of the kitchen window, the rain coming down and the wind blew into the flat. There will be a reason for the odd positions of the parked cars. Some residents will need more room to disentangle themselves from the vehicle than others.

Moved onto Facebooking next, fingers crossed that it will let me get something done on it without freezing this time.

Went to brew another mug of tea, and took this attempted Panoramic view of outside.

Not too pleased with it. It was much mistier and grey than how it came out?

Back to Facebooking. Then had a search for the slow-cooker recipes for belly pork. Got the meat sliced and into the Crock-Pot, but unfortunately had a Dizzy Dennis attack while seasoning the brew in the pot. I can’t remember what I put into it. When the head cleared, this is what it looked like.

I found, scattered around the kitchen tops: Light Soy Sauce, garlic paste and tomato and herb tubes, wine vinegar, distilled vinegar and an empty jar of tomato sauce for Italian dishes and a bottle of American BBQ sauce? Surely I couldn’t have put all that in with the pork slices?

Found the timer running down at 3hrs 54minutes, which seemed right, 4 hours slow cooking for pork I think. The controls were on low. Just cannot recall doing it all.

As I put away the flavourings, the thought that I’d made a Whoopsiedangleplop of Gargantuan proportions could not be removed from my mind. This is going to be a meal that is going to be uneatable, I’m sure. Rechecked the pot and found I’d added some fresh tomatoes to it as well, a lot of them. Then I saw the empty bottle of Buckwood Maple Syrup in the bin. Oh heck! I could poison myself, Tsk!

It all smelt rather like a, erm, I don’t know. Nothing I’ve ever eaten had had a pong like this one.

Made an order for grocery delivery while the brain was working alright(ish). Hehe!

Doing the Email replying and the phone went. It was BJ asking if I wanted to go to Papplewick Pumping Station, which was nice of him. I thanked him and accepted his offer. But now I have got to rush about to get ready in time. He’ll ring me when he’s on the way so I can get down to meet him in the car.

Turned everything off and got the ablutions done. Midway through and the doorbell chimed out. What an imbroglio as I opened the door with the towel wrapped around my morbidly obese body to find a lady delivery driver stood there. Must have been a terrible shock for her. The parcel was for 72, but at the other block of flats. Back into the wet room and finished off the ablutions.

BJ rang to let me know he and David were on their way.

Got the nibbles in the bag and got down to walk to the end of the road. BJ papped his horn to let me know I’d just walked right past his car. He fooled me by coming in a new car. Hehe! I climbed in, and the three of us conversed en route to the Papplewick Pumping Station.

It was nice to see the volunteers and have a chinwag with a few of them again.

Getting through the gatehouse, the first thing I saw was the BBC Austin Camera Van and a group of people in period costume behind it.

We all made our way to the water storage pond where they were displaying 1939 style firefighting techniques.

BJ asked them if David could have a go at the hoses and they let him.

BJ and David said they would be back at the pond for the mock battle and wandered off.

I hobbled around, taking in the musicians of those years, the old vehicles, the mini train and folk enjoying their ride around the track.

I got back to the pond for the mock battle, but no signs of BJ or David.

It was a very realistic battle this year, what I saw of it.

So many people were watching it, I got pushed further away as they arrived and had to use the strong zoom to get any photographs.

I continued my stroll around met BJ and David and went in the cafe with them so they could have a cuppa and a chinwag.

Off on my own again, I went inside the boiler room, always a favourite of mine this one, without a doubt.

Felt a bit of a Dizzy Dennis coming on, so I went under the trees and sat on a bench, got the crossword book out and spent an hour or so trying to advance with the crosswords I’d got stuck on earlier. There were plenty of them.

Haha!

I went back into the boiler house and pumphouse for a final wobble around.

The artwork that went into building this place is phenomenal.

I’m going to do a post with all the photographs in later.

BJ rang me to meet them ready to depart, but again I could not find them. BJ is such a charismatic chap that everyone wants to chatter to him, and he had got sidetracked.

Eventually, an hour later than planned, we departed, all content and smiling.

BJ called into the Daybrook Aldi store so David could buy himself some lager. I went in with him to get a pint of milk. Now we know that young Davis is a big a lad, but he amazed me when he bought 2 x 10 bottles of lager, paid for them and put them in a strong carrier bag and went out with him carrying them in one had!

As BJ continued lifting us both, I wondered if the belly pork in the Crock-Pot would be alright.

I thanked him and said my cheerios to the pair of them and made my way up to the apartment. The smell from the cooking pot that greeted me was nice.

Had a wee-wee, got the chips in the oven, returned to the wet room for a Porcelain Throne Session, no problems at all.

So tired and weary now, but the good news was that the belly pork tasted smashing! IT was very soft to masticate too.

Just a shame I can’t remember which seasonings I put in the pot with them! Haha! Whatever they were, they coloured the crock-pot a bright orange that tool a lot of soaking and cleaning afterwards.

Sat with the TV on later, the phone rang, but I was incapable of getting up, I was just done-in. Being around the time that I keep getting a call from some prat telling me he’s  from Chucky-Chicken with a delivery for me, I did not answer the thing.

A throbbing headache appeared out of knowhere.

Shona: Chitatu 18 October 2017

0120hrs: Woke with a jump, start and rude awakening. Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and onto the computer to do up a graphic and added it to yesterday’s diary.

Things in the ailments department were so good this morning. I had no bother with the new wrist pains, Hernia Harry, Duodenal Donald, Arthur Itis, Haemorrhoid Harold, Hippy Hilda, Dizzy Dennis and Reflux Valve Roger were all kind to me. Only Anne Gyna and Toothache Timothy were giving me a bit of hassle, pain-wise.

Off to the Porcelain Throne, a decent session this time, and minimal bleeding from Harold, even the rear-end stinging was far less than of recent.

Did the Health Checks and took the medications.

Things looked okay, apart from the weight I’m afraid.

That seems determined to go up daily lately, Tsk!

The pulse has gone down this week up to now. If that is good or bad, I’m not sure, okay I think? I’ll check on the web later.

After I’d taken the medications, I realised how early it was in the day. Humph!

I got the Tuesday dairy done and posted, then went onto WordPress Reading and Email checking.

Oh, just noticed the reminder note on the TV screen.

Morrison delivery this morning, 0730>0830hrs. Also, the pink note that Obergruppenfurheress Warden Deana had kindly supplied me with, to prompt me about the man (Ryan) from the Nottingham City Homes calling next Tuesday afternoon to talk to me about getting a fire-alarm Strobe fitted in the flat. Bless her cotton socks!

I halved some of the bitter-tasting Lidl tomatoes and put them in a dish to marinade in Balsamic Vinegar, in the hope that this will make them eatable by the time I get around to serving them with the smoked fish later on.

Got around to updating this post to here.

I opened the kitchen window to take this photograph.

There was a lot of traffic about considering that it is only 0535hrs.

No signs of any rain, the winds were not too high yet.

But it was very cold out there…

That’s that then, I’ve got the tune in my head now. I’ll be humming and singing it for the day, at least!

I put away all of the paperwork that had gathered and accrued again. All looking neat now in my folders.

Did you notice that my savings account balance at the bank has now gone up to £2.89? Tsk!

Did some more work on preparing top graphics for the coming day’s diaries.

Caught up with Emails again.

Well, I was going to, but the intercom rang out as the Morrison delivery man arrived.

He dolloped the six bags inside the door, collected the used carrier bags and was off like a shot. Well, the lad was running to a tight schedule and only just made it to me on time. Wished him good luck and got on with sorting the groceries out.

Put the cupboard stuff on the counter, the frige and freezer stuff on the window ledge and set about getting them all away.

There was not so much stuff delivered today.

But they till filled the fridge and as for the freezer, I’d definitley overdone it again.

Ended up having to take some stuff out of their boxes and put them inside loose to get them to fit into the drawers. Tsk!

The fresh smoked haddock was smaller, less weight (Unlike me, hehehe!) than last weeks, but still cost the same.

The frozen fish was on offer, this I assume iswhy I bought it when I didn’t really need it, if you see what I mean, like?

Back to the Emails and responded to some comments on WordPress.

Made a mug of tea and updated this diary. The tea went cold and I went to make another one – I was so glad I did, I’d made a Whoopsiedangleplop and left the fridge door open.

I bent down to check on the food in the drawers and…

I had a Dennis Dizzy just as I went down, toppled over and banged Hilda Hippy against the radiator! This has done me no good or favours.

Heck of job getting back up again.

To make things worse, when I got back to the computer, the Virgin Internet Connection was sticking! Turned every thing off and rebooted.

I was now in such pain, Odd Knob upstairs started banging and drilling away again.

Got the meal ready, it looked super but in fact, it was not good at all.

I’d cooked the chips too hard for me to eat without agony from the teeth.

The tomatoes were so bad that after trying the first one I didn’t eat any more of them. The fish tasteless, only the fish sauce encouraged me to eat it.

The garden peas were nice, though.

Health Checks medications taken.

The head spinning a bit still, and Hippy Hilda was active in her stabbing at me. Hehe!

A sad figure, I washed up and got down to watch some TV. Nowt on, so I watched a DVD I’d been meaning to get to viewing for ages now.

Most dissapointed, it was not like I remembered it to be. And, I did not fall asleep once watching it!

Put the TV on and even stayed awake watching the rubbish. The teeth and Hilda Hips were niggling at me for hours and hours.

I gave up any thoughts of even napping. Got up at 0145hrs, took an extra painkiller and did the laundry.

Inchcock Today – 30-31 August 2017 – Thursday Tenants Social Hour

End of Wednesday 30th August 2017

Croatian: Završava u srijedu 30. kolovoz 2017

I started to assemble the new saucepans and got the fodder in the oven. Halved cooked potatoes (in the crock-pot) with cheese added on top of them and two potato pockets with cheese inside, and into the oven.

Obergruppenfurheress Warden Deana called on me to check out if I had done the monthly Wrist Alarm battery checks. I reported that I had. (I don’t think she believed me judging by the semi-concealed obliquely sideways glance, masked with a well-practised but attractive smile, I gladly accepted in return to my statement.)

This gave me a chance to get rid of the sauces, Peri-Peri pot and bits that I had ordered while apparently in a stupor, dizzy spell or moment of madness. Hehe!

Another Whoopsiedangleplop while turning over the potato pockets in the oven, I’m sure the blister will go down soon. Antiscepticated the digit with some Germolene antiseptic cream. Now some more of that I should have ordered from Morrisons! Hehe!

The door bell chimed again, and there was me walking about now with no trousers on, limping more than ever due to the stubbed left big toe, no hearing aids in and passing the wind rather freely! Hoping it would not be Deana, cause she lets herself in if the door is not locked. I gingerly partly opened the door and popped my head out to investigate. It was the chap from next flat to one, wanting to know if I had a five-pound note in return for coins. I fetched a fiver, and we exchanged currency. Couldn’t hear what he was saying actually, but he is an easy chap to lip-read, and waving the coins at me, I followed what he wanted, I hope. Haha!

Back to the kitchen to dish up the meal, but it was not ready yet, the cheese on the potatoes needed a good while yet to turn crispy and brown as I like them. I did the Health Checks: Sys 154 – Dia 72 – Pulse 78 – Temp 32.6.

Served up the meal. I had some of the Smoked Mackerel in barbeque sauce with the other fodder. No bread needed.

I had made too much, yet, ate it all with great satisfaction. The reason for the two lemon yoghourt desserts was my overstocked situation and short ‘Use By’ dates on them. I could have given Obergruppenfureress Deana a packet of them, but never thought. I’ll take some down to her and Obergefrieteress Warden Julie and put them in their fridge at the Social Hour in the morning.

The usual falling asleep and waking up ensued – but this time, I could remember a bit about one of the dreams – Not a lot! As Paul Daniels used to say. I was master of earth it seemed and was looking down on the planet from wherever and picking areas out that needed to be eliminated? Scary!

There was a lot of noise coming from above again; I could not identify where from or what was making it correctly, but it was annoying late at night, so it shouldn’t be workmen unless someone has had to call them out for an emergency?

Thursday 31st August 2017

Spanish: Jueves 31 de Agosto de 2017

0430hrs: Stirred in the £300 second-hand recliner, taking in the lingering aroma of the night’s involuntary passing of the wind, it was not nice. I started to scratch at the base of the neck; something was not right here. A flaming hard place for me to get to, to put the cream on! Nothing pedicular I hope? Later, it spread around the neck to the chest and shoulders? Seems to be taking an anfractuous route wandering around my body? Ah, well.

Dismounted the recliner, the stubbed (Or whatever) toe still painful, and into the wet room for a Porcelain Visit. Things went well, all in all, apart from the new  Itching Ivan ailment, only Duodenal Donald was bothering me enough to be of any concern.

So I took an extra Omeprazole capsule with medications.

Health checks were then done: Sys 148 – Dia 67 – Pulse 82 – Temp 30.8 and Weight 14.84.

Got the computer on and updated this diary.

Checked the Emails: Sister Jane sent one granting me permission to visit her on Friday.

Naturally, I replied thanking her for the most gracious granting. Hehe!

Went on Facebooking. Then WordPress reading.

Did the ablutions and had a wee-wee – no injuries to report. Hehe!

Gathered the raffle prizes and box of nibbles and off to the Temporary Social Hour Hut.

Got down to the foyer, and returned back up in the lift to the apartment to collect the hearing aids. Tsk!

Down again and hobbled to the hut, and was greeted with “Oh, he’s here then!” from Frank, they do like a laugh. Not many of them in attendance again this week. I should think about 15 or so. I put the raffle prizes on the trolley and handed out the nibbles and the lottery tickets when I bought them. Very quiet in there today?

I pondered on whether to catch the early bus, this will mean dashing off shortly, or waiting until after the Social and get the later bus. Being as Hilda Hips and Duodenal Donald were both in a bothersome mood, I decided to leave early. The atmosphere was a little group-like and unforthcoming, almost standoffish, anyway. I wondered if I’d missed something, or was it my deeds? Had I unknowingly committed a distasteful or misanthropic act?

I departed to the bus stop and had a few chinwags and laughs with some tenants. Bill from the 11th floor was in good spirits as we nattered en route to town.

The Sky brightened up as we went along Cranbrook Street.

As I got out of the seat ready to alight the bus, Dizzy Dennis’s hassle got worse I’m afraid.

When I did get off the bus on Upper Parliament Street, things seemed a bit bleak as I struggled to keep my balance.

I leant up against a bus shelter for a few moments, and things improved a lot, and I set off up the road and across into the Boots the Chemist store. I wanted to get some of the eye anti-irritant sprays. At nights I’ve been using one, but it has now run out, only 10ml contents and very expensive. I investigated the prices and range on offer.

The Optrex ones were over £16, the Boots one £12.49, still a lot, but they do help at night with the sleeping, I’m sure. I just hope these work, as well as the Optrex one, did.

As I left the store into the main mall, I took this photographicalisation above. Much later when I was setting up the update to this post, I saw something in this picture that seemed odd, out of place and luminescent almost. Weird! Can you spot it?

I called in the market there to look at the shirts the Afghanistani stallholder chap had on offer.

Then, ambled along to the Tesco store and bought some tomatoes, fresh garden peas and vinegar.

Out and over the road en route to the City Centre to take some photos. Passing the Little Waitrose store, I saw a lady coming out with some Marmite Rice Cakes in her bag. This reminded me that Sister Jane loves these, so I popped in to buy some for her if I remember to take them with me on tomorrow’s visitation to see Fooey, Jane and Pete.

Limped to the Slab Square and took these shots.

I noticed some Nottingham Street Art on the way.

The people around all seemed in a rather unhappy mood for some reason? Even the kids on the beach appeared to be a little less happy than the other day?

I espied a glass (Or whatever it was made of) figure of a horse in a window. I thought of the TFZer gals, one of them mentioned statues like these a while ago.

This photograph does not show the price ticket, so I thought I might use it as a ‘Price Competition’ on their site later?

Usually, I cannot appreciate this sort of art, but this one appealed to me – until I saw the price! A clue I can use, although it would mean nothing to me; Circa 1960 it said on the label. About 12″s high it was, maybe a little more.

I made my way up Queen Street to the bus stop, and sat down, knowing that this irritates Hilda Hip and Arthur Itis when I have to get up again, but I suddenly felt so tired. Now here, I had a fantastic bit of help from a kind generous natured lady, who woke me and asked if I was waiting for the L9, as it is here now! Yes, a right Whoopsiedangleplop that could have been, if that kind lady had not noticed me nodding off, bless her and a million thanks!

When the bus got on a bit further, May got on the bus. We chatted, and when we arrived at the flats, I was able to assist with getter her trolley off of the vehicle.

I had a job keeping up with her, though. Hehe!

Indoors and to the wet room for a wee-wee.

Then a plan was formed for today’s meal. I got some potatoes in the saucepan with the Polish herbs added to them, shelled some garden peas and added brown sugar to them. When the potatoes are boiled, I itnnd to strain them, and slice them, add strong shredded cheddar cheese on top of them, and get them in the oven. Have some tomatoes with them, with balsamic dressing? We’ll see.

Started (Between wee-wees) to update this diary.

Went in to repeatedly check the fodder, and leant out of the balcony to tak this shot ofthe kids on the park up the hill.

Prepared the side food and got the potaotes sliced, cheesed up and in the oven on a high heat. Sliced some yellow peppers and put a ring on each potato half.

The meal was wonderful, and despite Duodenal Donald’s attentions, I enjoyed eating it.

No more Dizzy Derek and Anne Gyna was so kind, too.

The things for the morning’s visit to see Jane was sorted and in the bag ready.

Must get the laundry done before going as well tomorrow.

The nodding off’s were remarkable by their absence? I nodded off once and didn’t wake until 0330hrs, slept straight through!
