Sat 18 July 2015: Inchcock Today – Huh!

Saturday 18th July 2015

0601

Went to kip late last night and soon nodded off into a deep sleep for two hours – after that I was waking every half hour it seemed, filled with dread and apprehension in response to dreams?

I can’t recall a lot about them just bits here and there. Being chased again, underwater and helping a surgeon remove me fingers who kept squirting WD40 onto them?

Bolt awake late around 0640hrs. WC’d and found the fresh cream cakes I’d had delivered with last nights Tesco visit lying on the heater in the hall – Huh!

Made a cuppa titivated the kitchen and returned to the WC. Mmm?

Laptop on and got yesterdays diary done and posted. Much stuff to respond to on Facebook. So I went on there for a good while then started a post for the LOMM site.

Despite the sunshine it’s cold this morning. I’m not opening the window, I can see the trees swaying violently in the wind – that is also coming into the kitchen via the hole in the wall – Tsk!

0702WC’d. Had a good scrub up and shave, got me togs on, got the washing ready in the bag – remembering to take the softener and soap capsule with me and set off down the laundry room.

Met me next flat neighbour as we both opened our door together. Had a little chin-wag, then to the lift and down.

No one in the laundry room so I got the machine going. Went out into the foyer to read me book, the plan was to have a little walk and take some photographs while the drier was on, cause that takes an hour.

I’d forgot to take me book down with me. So went back up and got it, brought it back down and sat in one of the high easy hairs to read it. I kept nodding off, and each time someone came in or out, the Tannoy blasted out “There is CCTV in operation in this building” to wake me and I got funny looks from whoever came in or out. Hehe! Did more kipping than reading I think.

0703Got me togs put away and despite the vicious looking wind I went out for a walk up to the park.

I took this photo of the stubby grass being blown in the wind to show how hard the wind was a-blowing.

Decided not to go too far.

0706On the way up the hill from the back of the flats the hillside has so many daisies bravely blossoming in the grass defying the cruel winds.

Up to the top and passing the kids play area – even with the wind (mind you I had me new hearing aid-batteries in wot I installed earlier) I could hear and lip-read the language being thrown about verbally by the parents and kids themselves… very crude!

0705Over the other side of the hill was some Pitch and Putt players enjoying a game.

I was a bit nervous in case a stray sliced shot came in my direction like?

I turned and took a photo of Woodthorpe an Winchester Court from a different angle, to ones I did earlier.

0704It was getting more windy than ever – I bet the pitch and putters were cursing it when they had to putt?

Then I wandered to the left and the gravel path that leads down to the flats, the one the local dog owners use daily for their dogs to relieve themselves and took one from the front side of the flats.

0703aI noticed that the three flats immediately above mine each had some balcony furniture in use.

I only got two hairs in the flat yet. Tsk!

I returned wind-battered to the flats and visited the WC and made a cuppa.

Then I found two letters on the floor that had been delivered. More Bills! One for me and one for Margaret the previous tenant, both from Severn-Trent.

I cleaned out me hearing-aid accoutrements bag that had got wet and dirty when I moved them in. I took a photo of them on the kitchen window and noticed the Emergency Alarm wrist band button there – and thought, hang-on, if I’m paying for this service as I am… why should the monitoring station phone up yesterday to tell me the battery power was showing too low and have me test it through their line, then tell me they would inform Nottingham City Homes and when i mentioned this to those in charge at the Community shed, they just said I’ll come and have a look Monday or Tuesday? Not on that! Swines!

0701I mentioned the trouble I’ve been having with maintenance people to a bloke yesterday, the lock being fitted and not working, the giant hole in the wall no one seemed interested in etc. and he said:”Tell me about it, yer can’t get owt done properly here!” and he tutted, shook his head mumbled summat and went off to this flat. Don’t bode well does it?

DSCF0150Made me nosh. cheesey beans, bacon and beetroot.

I enjoyed this too.

Hell of a job to get the pans clean afterwards. Huh!

Did a bit of Facebooking and took me medications.

TTFN all.

Sat July 2015: Inchcock Today –

Saturday 14th June 2015

aa00h

Up at 0310hrs.

The bedroom felt cold last night, the other rooms didn’t?

Made cuppa and took me last pot of medications.

Bit of thunder and lightning going on this morning, it soon stopped though.

Then I took a photo from the kitchen window from the same view as the one I took last night. Interesting comparison I thought?

01topLaptop on, another cuppa and started on this diary.

Must remember what I need to get today.

Back to the dump to get medications, chemist to get new prescriptions, get bread and long-life milk (The little bottle I got has curdled now – no fridge yet! Huh!)

Checked emails and Facebooked for a while.

No hot water this morning, have to boil water in the kettle to have a shave.

IMG_0026The rain turned to mist and then fog after I took this picture.

Managed to force down a pot of Golden Syrup flavoured porridge, cause I imagine it ain’t good not eating for so long. Just not hungry?

Then, although I haven’t got all the seasoning to make curried beans, I opened a tin and mixed in some sultanas left them to soak in. I hope to remember, and be able to carry some of the seasonings from the flea-pit later today. (I forgot – huh!)

There are only four buses today (Mind you, tomorrow there are none!), first one at 1030hrs, so I have plenty of time to have wash and shave using hot water from the kettle – what a farce. I still haven’t seen anyone to ask about this lack of hot water in the mornings and days. (I dare not ask the Camp Kommandant Obergruppenführer woman), but I think a lady told me there are none of them on site at the week-ends.

Ah well, I’ll get the kettle on and have a shave then… back in a bit…

IMG_0030Set off taking the letters for Mrs Leadbetter with me and couple of bags to put me stuff in from the flea-pit and me shopping.

On me way down in the lift I put the camera low so it wont be seen and took a photo of missen – then remembered the CCTV camera, Tsk!

The Community shed was all locked up. So stuck the letters in me bag to deliver later.

Set of on me walk down Winchester Street hill and on to Carrington.

The sun was coming out now.

Got in the hovel and packed some stuff that I could find that I might need, mobile charger, socks, undies, etc. I thought I’d put some shirts in as well, but later found they were some Lounge trews that were too small. I decided to bus to town and get some cheapo t-shirts.

Called at the chemist who told me it’s two weeks yet before the prescription is due. All this hassle got me even more confused than usual.

So back to the house and picked up what medication were there to do-up into pots tomorrow.

Called in Tesco in town got some bread and ham to have with me beans later.

IMG_0031

A good few folk about.

Went to the bust-stop to get the L9 back to the flats – next one was due 2 hours later!

There was only four buses running on a Saturday – every two hours over 0930 to 1630. And there are none running at all on a Sunday. So I might get me medication pots done and have a walk locally to get the lay of the land so to speak?

I called in Primark got some shirts and socks then back to the bus-stop.

When I got back to the flat many letters had been delivered. Three for Mrs Leadbetter, and five for me!

One about the direct debit fer the rent, and three giving me dates fro when the repairmen will be calling to do jobs.

The other a con-job from a someone giving me a number to ring to get 200% return on summat or other – binned it.

01topYou should see me Google diary now. Hang on, I’ll try to take a screen shot of it…

I put the hot water immersion on but nowt happened.

An hour or so later tried again and the light came on – it worked?

Searched and searched for me mobile – going potty I was – had I left or dropped it on the bus – oh dear…

Eventually after a beard growth or half an inch I found it – plugged in charging behind the microwave. Wot a plonka!

I had a bash on Facebook to have a break like.

The blow-up bed that Steve has loaned me has a Velcro like coating and every time I moved it holds on to me jammies and this caused a nasty Whoopsiedangleplop within minutes of me nodding off. The little Inch started bleeding rather badly. Spent the next hour or two in the bathroom cleaning missen up and trying to stop the bleeding. Got bad at one stage and I thought about calling for help.

None of the clinics creams or pads here at the flat – an oversight I regretted. Must remember to collect some tomorrow from the dump.

TTFN all.

Tue June 15: Inchcock Today: The Mind races, Leaving me brain behind!

Tuesday 30th June 2015

07top2b

Slept a long time last night, got over five hours in.

The dreams were all about problems with the moving abode – at least I think they were – because they were fresh in me mind when I sprang awake at 0400hrs and lay pondering on how to solve them for ages – no solutions came though.

Having no transport is a bind – failing to order the freezer and cooker yesterday and the wasted half-day trying to, was a blow that sent me into a low. Oh, poetry!

IMG_0220Today is launderette day – I am hoping that BJ can let me go with him to Asda and I can get some pans, mop and bucket and maybe a television? Then I’ll ask him if and when he can help further by lifting them and the other stuff I have ready to use in the new flat up to Woodthorpe Court.

I must ring Steve later, to find out about the Virgin internet set-up and the decorating situation. Got to wait for the paint to arrive at the flat first – which means me being there to accept it – so much confusion, so many things to tackle and so many things Medical appointments, repair men from the City Homes Council and the toilet is unusable until they sort it out in the new flat things to remember or forget worry me a bit.

First time I’ve moved from a house. Nervous and panicky is how I see myself at the moment. Being on my own without transport isn’t helping.

I think it’s amazing how some folk cope with their moves.

The heating is storage heaters in the flat – they confuse me as well.

Started this diary and made a cuppa. Took me medications. (Missing these in me confused state is another worry – Tsk!

Took some rubbish out to the bin and made a list of items I might (If BJ can help me out – Again!) be able to get from Asda for the new flat.

I feel a bit guilty asking BJ for help all the time – summat else to get me down. I think he might get pissed off with me soon.

And I’ll probably have two poll-taxes to pay until I sell the house… oh, the mind races leaving me brain behind!

Got the washing ready and had a wash and brush-up before setting off for the launderette.

IMG_0222Nice warm morning, no yobs about and me cancer wound was a lot better.

Good stuff methought!

Got to the launderette and Mandy was on duty

Had a chin-wag and laugh like.

BJ arrived and i asked him if he could take me with him to Asda so I could get some stuff for the new flat and take it up there.

He said he hasn’t much time but he would. I feel terrible putting on him for help like this.

A man from City Homes rang, he wanted to get into the flat to replace the damaged glass on the kitchen window. I said we should be there around 1215hrs.

IMG_0227BJ ran us to Asda where I spent a bit getting needed accessories for the flat.

Brushes, cutlery, kettle, towels, mugs, drainage rack for the sink, bottles of mineral water in case the brown water was still coming out of the cold water taps Tsk!

Getting on now and BJ had no tie to IMG_0225help me into the flat with them bless him, he got me into the lift with the bags and had to shoot off. I thanked him as he disappeared from view.

Up to the 12th floor and somehow struggled out of the lift and got the stuff into the flat.

I took some photographs of the flat.

IMG_0223Then the phone on the wall rang – glad to say it is pretty loud and it was the maintenance men come to do the window.

I sneaked a shot of the from behind showing the marvellous view from the window.

They had it done in a few minutes ad left me a little pile of rubbish to clear up, bless them.

IMG_0224I took a photographicalation fro the balcony, sticking the camera between the mesh netting to get a clear shot.

This cheered me up a bit – until I went into the bathroom and saw the Do Not Use sign still on the toilet seat.

Brown water was still coming out of the cold tap I’m afraid to say.

IMG_0228I stuck some air-freshers I got from Asda in each room.

There was a pile of letters for the previous occupant lady.

I thought I’d go see if I could fins any of the staff to ask what to do with them so took them with me to the lift.

As I left the flat, there are two other flat doorways in a recess and I saw my neighbour and had a chat with her, about my age and very pretty she was.

As I got in the main 12th floor area near the lifts I popped in to see the rubbish chute and broke up some cardboard to see if it went down alright – I must ask someone about if there is a recycle one to use.

A grand chap name of Norman came to me as I got in the lift. He said they keep changing people to other flats near him and didn’t sound to happy about it for some reason?

I got down and called at the community cabin thing and found a woman there and asked her about the letters, she said just bring them here. So I gave the to her. She didn’t know about the waste chute, as she was standing in for someone on holiday.

I walked down into Sherwood and got some stuff from Wilkinson’s. Tin openers and pans for the cooker if ever I manage to get one like.

IMG_0229As I started to walk down Winchester Street, I spotted these flowers that seemed to have turned to face me.

Walked back to the hovel (Further than I thought) got in and put the kettle on and I got a call from another maintenance guy who said he wanted to take a look at the water problems in me bathroom. Well, I was meeting Steve from UK tomorrow, he’s coming at 1200hrs so he can take some of me bags ready filled with stuff to use at the new place to it. He’s also got someone to help me with getting stuff sorted that I need. Great encouragement that!

01topaFinished me post about the City Homes folder and started to finish this diary. I cheered up a bit, then saw the yobs lurking up and down the street again.

IMG_0233Had me nosh.

Mild Chilli-con-carne, sausages, roast potatoes and cooked beetroot with bread thins.

Followed by a mini cake and a pot of mandarins in jelly.

Rated it 8.2/10.

Very nice.

Then I faded!

29 June 2015: Inchcock Today: GP Surgery – Meeting with Council Officials – You wouldn’t believe how Hard it is to get A Fridge-freezer and Electric cooker delivered!

Saturday 29th June 2015

I believe today’s Diary is indicative of how me life is at the moment!

01top

Woke 0530hrs – put the water heater on – then took me medications and started this diary off.

Thought I’d better do it now as I didn’t know how the plans would go for the day.

Going to GP surgery at 0830hrs – in the hope that the nurse can do me INR test and redress me skin cancer wound early enough for me to get to BJ’s house and then up to Woodthorpe Court to meet with Steve Age UK for the Council Officials meeting about the flat.

Had a wash and brush up, and got missen ready for the days rather daunting tasks.

IMG_0207IMG_0209I set off slipping the pigeons some seed as I poddled to the doctors surgery.

I noticed two posters on St John’s Church fencing as I passed it, for the Sherwood Art week (Last week). Too late for me now to go see the Burlington Jazz session – I’d have liked to see them too. Huh!

IMG_0210Walked over the road, just managing to avoid being hit by one Nottingham’s Pavement Cyclists as he free-wheeled down the hill. The Swine!

Arrived at the surgery spot on 0820hrs as suggested by the nurse for an 0830hrs rearranged INR session.

All locked up – the sign read surgery starts at 0850hrs!

I waited until they opened up and was first in the queue.

Got seen to by the new nurse Nicole who also took off me dressing from me wound. Left some nibbles for the staff and set off on me walk to Sherwood to call on BJ.

IMG_0212 IMG_0213We had a natter and then set of in BJ’s car to the flats.

Lovely morning, I had a wander around and took some photographs while we waited for Steve from Age UK’s arrival. Steve phoned while I was taking the shots to confirm it was still on.

We found the lady representative of the Council. Her voice was loud but not clear and Steve had to keep answering my questions about what she said. Tsk!

Nice lady. I filled in many forms, bank details etc. and signed them.

BJ and Steve found things that needed attention – and she listed them to get them sorted. Brown water coming from the tap in bathroom, drawer front in kitchen hanging off, and a window needed replacing also in the kitchen – there were more, but I can’t remember them all now.

IMG_0214I took a photograph from the living room window – shame about the bird nets innit – that’ll cramp me flipping photographicalisationing style!

Steve said he would apply for the bath to be replaced with a level shower. The lady said this would take some months to get done – so Steve said he would make the application for me today.

Appaently I’m a ‘Probationary Tenant for the first Twelve months, Mmm?

Then I signed the contract and was given the entry swipe and keys to the flat.

Steve suggested I get a fridge freezer and cooker delivered first.

IMG_0211We parted outside and Steve shot off to another client and BJ ran me down onto Mansfield Road where I caught a bus into town.

Having to dodge yet another Nottingham speeding dangerous Nottingham Pavement Cyclist as I approached the bus-stop.

Another Swine on wheels!

Luckily I had me free bus-pass with me.

I got into town with me mind racing about all the IMG_0215things I had to do – first I thought I’d walk to John Lewis and have a look at their cookers and fridge freezers like…

Then thought I’d try a few other afterwards to compare the prices and products yer see?

Well… what a farce come cock-up that was!

01040104aI eventually caught the attention of an assistant after looking over the products and choosing the cooker, very nice and not too expensive, with a small oven, just the ticket I thought. Also a Hotpoint fridge freezer just the size I needed and frost free too!

My first questions were can these two be delivered at the same time and how much would it be for delivery and fitting please.

“No problem with the delivery Sir, between 0800 and 1400hrs” on Friday (I thought he was going to fall asleep on me at this point). “The freezer is plug and go so no fitting needed, the cooker will cost you £20 for fitting and the delivery for both will be £20.”

Fair enough I thought. Gave him all the details he asked for, bank details address etc… then he said “It’s not letting me input this…” And called over to a colleague to ask if he knew why. He returned to me and told me the Fridge could be delivered Friday but the Cooker could not be delivered until Tuesday… I stopped the conversation here (Foolishly thinking another company could supply me both products at the same time – Huh!). I started to explain that this is not acceptable due to me many medical appointments that arise at short notice, so I can’t guarantee being in. Let’s forget it! (Sorry I said that now!)

0104dWalked over to Curry’s PC World main store on Milton Street. They didn’t have either product in stock!

Oh dear…

0104cSo, over the road to another store, House of Fraser.

Even if they had got anything in I liked, I couldn’t have afforded the prices they were asking…Tsk!

0104bNot having me reading glasses with me I had the most difficulty in reading their catalogue.

I was amazed to see their prices were higher for cookers and fridges than anywhere I’d looked. Next day delivery would cost a good bit, delivery within 3 days or five days was cheaper. But with the upcoming appointments I have no chance of being at the new flat for delivery over a period of three or five days?

Oh, I do feel irritated with missen now.

Caught the bus back to Carrington, made a cuppa and did this diary.

Feeling a bit down now, despite getting the keys to the flat.

So tired again.

IMG_0219Made me nosh, Pork pie, chips, cheesey potato mash, pork loin and pickled beetroot.

Very nice.

Rated this one 7.9/10.

But me eyes were too big fer me belly again.

Launderette in the morning.

I rang BJ to ask him if I could get some stuff, saucepans, kettle etc from Asda with him tomorrow and if he could lift it and some more stuff to the new place for me. He was too busy to talk – and I forgot to ring him back! Pillock!

Inchcock in Prose – It’s been a Funny Old Life… Part 4

It’s been a Funny Old Life… Part 4

GCPram

It started getting confusing, when I was born,

To mother I was unwanted, a bit of a thorn,

So she kept running off, not that it made me mourn,

I thought at first it was due to me, and felt forlorn,

Then the Police called to see her one morn,

Regarding a Christmas club funds being overdrawn,

But she’s gone hours earlier at the break of dawn!

~

The chase was on, thus her reputation did aggrandise,

They caught her 9 months later, and believed her lies!

Dad took her back in, even I saw that was not wise,

Things kept disappearing, before our very eyes,

She was repeatedly off again, someone else to victimise,

Everyone she conned liked her, hard to realise,

They just trusted her, and that was very unwise!

~

Many callers over the years wanting to know where she’d went,

Loan sharks after money they had foolishly lent,

Lawyers, Window cleaners, neighbours giving vent,

Bookmakers, grocers even cobblers where she had overspent,

All seeking recompense to some extent,

Disappointed and sad they were as they went!

~

When I was fourteen, I started work and earned some cash,

She was back in our midst, quick as a flash!

Of the massive £3.3s.3d a week I earned, not balderdash,

She only charged me £2 for board, I was taken abash!

Shame she nicked me clothes, LP’s and any spare cash!

It didn’t matter where I tried to hide me stash,

She always found it – and flogged it quick as a flash!

~

Finally, many years later, she was up before the beak,

Conning the judge and jury whenever she did speak,

She walked from court without giving a single pique,

A richer woman, new flat with rent paid every week,

No compensation to pay, Gas paid and benefits increased,

Went straight to the bookmakers tongue-in-cheek,

Bet on the second favourite, that won by a streak!

~

But despite all her misdemeanour’s, and folks she did screw,

Those she’s conned lent her more money, yours truly too!

Gave her furniture, money to pay for her electricity, it’s true,

Despite her utility bills being paid by benefits she did accrue!

Crime doesn’t pay? It did for one, I can tell you!

~

Yet fond memories remain of those bitter days,

Of Mother and her strange odd ways,

She was much loved by waifs and strays,

She’s give them 6d of her last shilling in many ways,

Just a shame the shilling was nicked… oh happy days!

Good Day to you from Inchcock

Good Day to you from Inchcock

While I find missen in a good mood (No idea why) I thought I’d wish everyone all the best and have a damned good day folks – if yer don’t mind like? I fang you!

Nature Camping & Hiking - Postcard - Large

A slightly more cheerful Inchcock this morning – before his visit to have his wound checked out and redressed – no telling how he’ll feel after that – poor old impecunious little harnless imp that he is – honestly!

Nottingham Then and Now – Part One: Sheep Lane – Market Street

NTNSheepLane

Market Street (Above colour photograph) started out as a narrow alley called Sheep Lane but due to its limited width quite a few accidents happened, pedestrians going up meeting carts coming down caused people to be squashed against the sides – usually resulting in blood stains on the floor and wall.

This led to the locals referring to it as Blood Lane.

When it was widened (civic improvements in 1866) the aim of the Gentry was to name it Theatre Street, because it led from the Market Square to the Theatre Royal.

The market people had other ideas and the night before the official unveiling some of them unscrewed the sign and replaced it with one stating Market Street.

The following day was market day and everyone, the Gentry and the market people, congregated at the bottom of the widened Sheep Lane for the opening ceremony.

The Mayor pulled on the cord to revel the new sign and proclaimed the new roadway to be “Market Street”, even though a portion of the assembled crowd – mostly Gentry – complained; but they were heavily outnumbered, and tried to point out the Mayor’s error when it was already too late.

There has been 128 murders recorded on Sheep Lane/Market Street.

Next in this series: The Elite Cinema – Upper Parliament Street.

Thu 18 June 2015: Sheltered Flat Hunt – progress at last!

Thursday 18th June 2015

Woke around 0420hrs – really tried to remember the dreams I’d had, but only vague bits came to me. Something about being chased by women in an abandoned office block?

When I moved to answer the call to the porcelain I noticed the pain from the wound was a lot less – that’ll soon be put to rights by the Obergruppenfurher Practise nurse this afternoon mind, when she rips off the dressing cleans the wound and applies another dressing?

Some blood from the haemmoroids this morning. The sore throat was rampant still, the voice sounded a bit better to me, less croaky. The angina and arthritis was calm and passive. The duodenal ulcer no bother. The reflux valve beahaving itself nicely. Little Inch not bleeding, although the lesion seems to be widening? And, yesterday I had only one dizzy spell. Things looking good… perhaps I shouldn’t have said that?

Made a cuppa and took me medications, put the water heater on. Then strted this old laptop to finish and post yesterdays Inchcock Today.

Then did an extra post in rhyme (Of sorts) about me flat hunting recently and got it done.

Then made a funny post about life when you get old like.

Had a wash and brush-up.

Then went down and made another cuppa and got the new laptop on to do the graphics for them and get it posted.

Susan from Nottingha City Homes rang to confirm she’d put in a bid for me for the 72 Woodthorpe Flat in the high-rise block. She said she’d ting me back wit the result.

IMG_0170I set off on me walk to Colville Court to meet Steve.

I’d only got about 5oo yeards and the mobile rang. It stopped before I could answer, it was from Susan. During the walk I rang back 23 times, unfortnately all I got on each call was three beeps and no connection?

I waited outside the complex fro 15 minutes for Steve to arrive – during which a pillock on an illegal mini-motorbike kept belting by as his continually ran around the block. It was at this stage I made me mind up not to apply to live there – no point in escaping one set of yobs to find another at the new place?

When Steve arrived we went inside to view some of the flats. I must admit they were goreous, well thought out, and in mint condition, even though a bit more rent than the Council ones. But the local yobs had put me off by then.

I had a chin-wag with Steve and he rand Susan to confirm my interest in the flat at Woodthorpe (Sherwood).

Steve was on holiday next week, but he arranges with Sue for me go and sign the paperwork and sort options out on Monday 29th June, and I was assured it was mine despite the long wait.

My internet contributions will be reduced now, as I have to press on getting things sorted and ready for the move? Please bear with me folks.

Left Steve and walked into town to see if the EE shop could increase my allowance on the sim-card hire. But couldn’t provide them with enough details. I reckon they have een lost in the sorting out process? Oh dear.

Caught the bus home and updated this diary.

Have go in a bit to have me wound cleaned and redressed at the GP surgery.

Hard to say how I feel at the moment – so glad to have got somewhere but unsure if I’ve done the right thing if yer know what I mean.

And so worried about sorting it all out and getting it into order – but Steve will be back on the 29th and will advise and guide me I’m sure.

He said to concentrate on getting stuff I aim to take with me ready for IMG_0162transportation first.

Might treat missen to a lamb shank, potatoes and garden peas nosh tonight. Got to use up the freezer stuff – mind you, I’ve got to use up the dated stuff as well… Oh dear…

Went to see Nurse and was seen to early – all cleaned and re-dressed. I’ve not got to get it wet and to be careful she said, any bleeding and come back to see her. It feels much easier now though – mind you, it was bad.

So I’ll see how I go with starting some sorting again in the morning.

IMG_0172Hobbled back to the dump added this to diary and got me nosh cooking.

Rated 4/10.

The lamb shank was from Tesco. It was not very good, the gravy tastless, the peas (Also Tesco brand) were a tad bitter, but the potatoes (Lidl) were okay.

I was so tired out and soon got me head down after sending an email to PAtti Berkert telling her about the flat. She’s been through so much and is finally getting herself better, and has been such a caring friend. Thanks Patti.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Views High-Rise Council Pensioners Flat on the 16th Floor

Woodthorpe

The other day I went to view an warden aided flat,

To get there I had to be strong and an acrobat,

Top of a hill, it was windy, glad I had me hat,

I found the City Councils Commissariat.

We went to look at the flat, on the 16th floor,

I noticed the kicked in panel on the front door,

The place was in a right state, very poor,

Electrics hanging off the wall down to the bare floor,

A smell lingered everywhere, a sweet sickly odour,

Noises from the Romanians living next door.

A distinct feeling of gloom lingered in the air,

I decided I didn’t want to live there,

Although the view from the window was fair,

I turned on a tap, the water was brown… I despair!

I caught the wall and the plaster shred,

A lick of paint will sort that, the Commissariat said,

That only made me cringe and exacerbate,

Then under the sink an insect zoo did await!

The light switch hung off the wall by its wire,

In the front room a non-working electric fire,

The ceiling peeling, electric needing a rewire,

For living here I could not aspire!

I told the Commissariat Thanks but I don’t think so,

She took it like a mortal lethal blow,

She scowled at me, and don’t you know…

She didn’t speak to me again and let me go.

Hey-ho!

Woke at 0430hrs. Not feeling good.

No dreams remembered at all?

Thought about me tasks to get sorted today: Finish yesterdays diary and get it posted (I was just too tired to do it last night), start this diary off, contact the clinic and beg their forgiveness for missing me appointment and make another, contact Steve with update on the Colville housing application… there’s bound to be others.

No one on the street this morning

Cuppa made, and laptop on – email from Guinness saying my application had been forwarded to Chesterfield for consideration.

I’m feeling very heavy eye-lidded this morning. Suppose yesterdays long day of tasks completed didn’t help.

Another cuppa and took me medications.

Can’t get any shredding or sorting done with all these appointments to tend too.

Finished yesterday diary and got it posted. Did some Facebooking.

Had a good bath and scrub-up.

Then off and caught the bus into town, then another out to the QMC treatment centre. Walked round to the back of the compound in into it and up to Cancer treatment section G. Handed in me paperwork and waited until  I was called in.

To the waiting room locker and got changed as instructed by the highly intoxicating nurse.

Then taken into the treatment room where they started on removing some of me infected back for analysis.

They took me INR level to make sure it was safe to dig out me infected bits to test first.

It took them well over and hour to sort me out – with me laying on me face as they chatted away about why the doctor had the email of one of the nurses and not the other?

Eventually the stitches were put in, and a massive double pressure pad was applied then a gigantic plaster. When one of the nurses told me the eleven stitches must be protected, I mustn’t do anything physical for four days at least, must go to the GP with the paperwork she gave me to arrange the stitches to come out on the 24th June. If it bled I was to stand against a wall pressing backwards for at least half an hour and summon assistance?

She then took me in the anti-room and gave me a much appreciated cup of tea, telling me to sit there as long as it took for me to feel well enough to wander home.

The bus wot I missed pulling away from the bus stop – never mind eh…Tsk!

I dropped off the paperwork for the receptionist and staggered down the two flights of stair, out and around the compound to the front to catch a bus to town.

I saw one at the bus stop and hastened best I could up the winding path to the same level and just managed to miss it as I drew close it pulled away. Hey-ho!

The Old Guildhall – unused since it closed

When I got off the bus in town, I thought what a shame it was the old Guildhall building was still unused.

A grand looking and character ridden part of old Nottingham.

I imagined a McDonalds, Pay-day loan sharks, one of the £3 a cup coffee shops, Mobile phone companies or maybe a pawnbroker or two might have been interested? Only joking like.

The pain from me back started stinging as the pain-killer began to wear off, and I still felt so tired.

One of any Gits Cycling on the Pavement today

Took a photo through the bus window of one of the many many Nottingham Pavement Cyclist I saw during the day.

I has this idea come to me like – feeling confident that I as about to get a sheltered flat fairly soon, and not being able to carry owt from the shops while the stitches were in – I’d sign up for Tesco on-line and order a load of long-life nosh and cleaners etc and put them into the bags I’ve got ready to take with me. As it turned out, not one of me better ideas at all... more about this later like.

F7

Me visits here are getting a bit too frequent too!

Dropped off the bus and walked to the GP surgery where I gave them the paperwork and explained about needing an appointment on the 24th fer the removal of the stitches. She looked on her computer and said I have an appointment on the 23rd. But none of us knew why? So she moved it to the 24th with the stitches one.

I later found out the 23rd one was for me CHD checks. Must let her know on Monday.

Mansfield Road near the GP surgery

Surprisingly there was not much traffic on Mansfield Road.

That was until I tried to cross the road of course.

So I wobbled painfully up to the pelican lights and as I crossed on the green man, a ruddy Cyclist nearly had me as the idiot didn’t stop on his red lights!

Still flt a little bit giddy and the wound was really stinging now as I made me way back to the flea-pit.

Got in and WC’s, even sitting down is painful.

What a bloomin’ Day!

I decided to sign on the Tesco site and did so successfully. Then put me order in – but when it came to paying – it kept telling me the card was suspended  and I had to call the Co-op bank – so at great expense I did.

They informed me the card was not suspended and they had no claims for cash from Tesco?

So I rang the Tesco, so called helpline. (Helpline! Huh!)

The chap eventually after keeping paying for the call for ages – it was suspended now after I’d tried so often to get it accepted.

So I called the Co-op bank again and explained what was occuring – it had been suspended by Visa – (Eventually gawd knows how much must have cost me) she said she would cancel the suspension, but it would talk two hours to clear.

Well pee’d off I rang off and started to update this diary while I waited the two hours to try and pay Tesco again!

What a crap day I’m having! Intense pain, Whoopsidangleplops and try as I might, I don’t seem able to get any decent sleep in – Huh, Tsk and bother!

I just made a cuppa, and it even hurts to lift the cup to me gob… though

I shouldn’t be surprised, it hurts when I do nothing as well. Just a bit worse when I move anything.

I’m dreading it if I sneeze! Hehe

Well, it’s been two hours and ten minutes – so I’ll risk trying to pay Tesco again – Oh dear, here we go…

Gordon Bennet! Had to do a new Tesco password now…

Aha… Success!

The nosh it took me three hours to get round to eating!

That means tomorrow I can at least get some packing of stuff to take with me done… and maybe a bit of shredding too… wound permitting.

YeeHaa!

Better get me nosh done.

Refried means, bacon and sausages.

Unfortunately as I came to shutting down me laptop, I got a message telling me there was an update for Coreldraw 7x – so I thought (I keep doing that recently, thinking… it does me no good yer know!), I’d just download it. It took about 15 minutes… then I was informed it needed a restart to take effect…

The green start screen came on – message on it: Restarting.

That was a hour and a half ago! Not sure if something wrong or is it the installation of the Coreldraw update that’s taking all time?

I seem fated not to get any sleep or eat me nosh.

Well another half hour as gone by now, I’ll go and check it again, hang on please…

No, no luck yet, still the green ‘Restarting’ screen.

Eventually started eating me nosh on me knee waiting for the laptop to finish restarting. It was still good reheated, Excellent taste! Rated 8/10.

Nature Camping & Hiking - Postcard - Large

Managed to take a photo by painfully distorting my body to get me hand up and behind me to take a photo of me wound dressing to see if I could see any blood leaking. A bonus here I caught a bit of the wound I got on me head when I banged it on the cupboard door. Hey-ho – Carry on regardless!

Struggled to take a photo of me dressing on the surgery wound to see if any blood had leaked out, but couldn’t get a shot of the lower 2/3rd of the dressing. And it toook me over nine attempts to get this one.

Hey-ho.

Had to lay in a contorted position to avoid pressing on it and I consequently got very little sleep again.

Huh! TTFN all.
