Inchcock Today – Wednesday 20th September 2017: Surgery, Pharmacy, Flu-Jab then the continuation of the Denist Farce! Tsk! Oh, and an update on the Alien-Blob on the lift floor! Hehe!

Wednesday 20th September 2017

0215hrs: Woke up feeling a bit better about myself and medically speaking too. Weird that the tooth was giving no pain at all, Anne Gyna has eased so much too. Only Arthur Itis was really bothering me, the right wrist. But it may have been brought on when I took the tumble on the bus the other day when it braked hard?

I soon regretted thinking “Weird that the tooth was giving me no pain at all” when as I was rising out of the £300 second-hand recliner, I sneezed. This set Incisor Susie Molar off. Tsk!

To the wetroom and tended to a Porcelain Throne session, messy but not too bad. I was just glad that things were ‘moving again’.

0245hrs: I got a few of the washing items out of the bag, and set off down to get them into the machine. Up again and did the Health Checks and took the medications.

0310hrs: Down to move the clothes into the dryer.

0318hrs: Up and got yesterdays diary finished and posted off to WordPress. Duodenal Donald started giving me some grief then.

0400hrs: Down to collect the bits of laundry. I popped outside and took this photo of the garages at the end of Chestnut Walk.

Something was flying about near the trees on the left near the storage container. Very fast they were, these whatever they were, made me take a photograph, but I can see nothing of them in this photo?

Folded the togs and cleaned the machine and filter, sink and floor.

The area near the lifts was very messy, leaves and what looked like crushed corn all over the place. The Alien Blob was still there on the floor of the first lift. I tried to photograph its mutationalisationing process, but the elevator cage was shaking far too much to get a clear picture. The flickering lights were also on show this morning.

0415hrs: Put the clobber away and made a mug of tea. Then made a start on this diary up to here.

Sorted out the medication pots.

Checked the Emails, hoping to find one from the surgery with the new Warfarin INR level. No such luck. WordPress reading, then onto CorelDraw to work on the next TFZer graphicalisation.

Got it finished eventually.

But I was very pleased with this one and how it came out in the end.

Pattie from Canada, being shown around on her visitation to Nottingham Castle, by yours truly. I told her not to worry about transport, I’d provide it for her. Hehehe!

The Morrison man arrived, must have been a bit late or behind, because was in and out in a shot! Thanked him, wished him good weather and got the fodder away.

The fridge had plenty of room yet, but the freezer was cram-packed full! Plenty of scope for the Iceland order coming tomorrow.

The freezer was so full mainly because I thought I had ordered a 500g pack of McCains Oven Chips… but had in fact ordered a huge dirty great big bag of 2.25kg! Tsk!

Had a long, excellent refreshing, enjoyable ablutionisationalisticalisationing session.

Changed into togs and set off for the hobble to Carrington and the Surgery. The lift was still shuddering a fair bit, and the lights were flickering, the second lift did not have these impediments. Hehe!

There were about twenty residents at the bus stop when I limped passed them. I stopped and had a little chinwag with them. Obergefrietereress Jenny was there with them, and I apprehended that it was the party of pensioners I should have been going with, to Sprinters in Arnold for the free Fish & Chip meal. I explained to Jen’ about my tooth and why I was not going with them again.

My farewells were given (Not that anyone answered them, Huh!) to them all and I pressed on down Winchester Street to Mansfield Road.

Good job there was no one in a wheelchair or disabled scooter rider, or someone with a pram with me. They would have struggled to get by this lorry.

Turned left, up the road and as I passed the traffic light junction with Haydn Road, I saw they had finished the new road markings.

Up to the top of and over the hill towards Carrington, I laboured a little en route. The plates-of-meat were stinging something awful by now.

A Nottingham Pavement Cyclist, on a dinky little child’s bike, was making his way down the hill. It was a youth of about 15-16 years-of-age. He must have been over 6-feet, too.

He looked so comical on that bike to me. His knees were up almost to his chin height.

Down the road, walking amongst the fallen conkers and their outer shells was a bit bothersome. As I could not avoid treading on some of them, and the resultant pain made me jump a bit. Never mind.

The traffic got a bit denser as I hobbled on. The gas repair and water roadworks further on to blame I suspect.

I sneezed, and this caused both of the front teeth to sting a bit. I suppose the song, ♫ The hip bone’s connected to the backbone
The backbone’s connected to the neck bone, The neck bone’s connected to the head bone,
Now shake dem skeleton bones! ♫ Must be right. Hehehe!

I arrived at the surgery and asked the Obergruppenfureress on the reception if I could get my INR Warfarin level results. Then went into detail about the Dentist and why I needed them.

I got a semi-frowned look in return. Then the lady consulted with Obegrefreireress Nurse Ann. They both looked at me from a distance and returned to their private talk.

Nurse Ann left, and the new receptionist went back to her computer. After a while, she came over to me and told me the result was at 3.0 – spot on the target! I was so pleased that I could get the teeth done now! (Huh, read on, Humph!)

I went to the Chemist in Carrington, to fetch the prescriptions. Bit of a wait, they were busy.

Kiran asked me if I wanted my flu jab doing while I was there. I thanked her, and she gave me the shot in the treatment room. All done and dusted.

I was beginning to cheer up now. (Fool, I should have known better with my luck, please read on).

Merrily I caught a bus to Sherwood and approached the dentist place, with confidence and an air of expectancy. Humph!

I got in and to the Oberleutnantess receptionist and explained everything to her again. Despite the fact that she dealt with me yesterday.

They could not see me today, but I could see my dentist (Vitesh Patel) on Friday evening. Otherwise, it will be into October before I can see him. I explained about how I get in the afternoon, tired and weary, and why. This was of no interest to her, of course. So I asked if I could see the dentist I saw last time. (Snehali Patel) Telling her, I prefer to see that dentist and would like to be moved to her list if possible. No answer to my request. She just said it would not be until October when she could see me either, and even days later than the other dentist. Not until the 13th October. Fair enough I said, I’ll have to wait then. She tapped her computer and gave me a read-out with the appointment on it at the top.

Then as I was leaving, she added: “Of course you will have to go through getting your INR result clarified as within limits again before you come!” That was only time of the whole meeting that she smiled; with curled lips! As if she had won a victory and was enjoying it!

I was now back in depression again.

I left and waited at the bus stop to catch the 90 up the hill part-way to the flats.

Feeling very depressed now.

I limped back to the flat.

In the lift, that was not shaking so much now, I took a photograph of the Alien Blob, still there on the floor after, how many days now?

I think it is mutating now.

The centre seems to be holding something ready for birth? Hehe.

Inside and I picked up some mail that had been posted and had a wee-wee. Two letters, one from the NCH with an A-Z of Home Improvements. Basically, a list of things we will be responsible for during the upgrading of the flats. I’ve not got round to reading and studying it yet, but did read one little section on Personal Belongings.

Surely the onus is on the workers not to steal anything? How can we find somewhere safe and secure when the workers are in the flat and able to go anywhere, they tell us to leave while it is being done and have all those tools with them… Sod it, never mind.

Then sorted the prescriptions out with an uninterested will-power.

Got the nosh ready.

Thesmoked haddock was superb, the peas warmed very slowly with added balsamic vinegar were tasty, same with the overcooked on purpose potatoes.

Now that Incisor Tooth Suzie has started, what’s the best word… sinking and leaning a little. eating without catching her, is actually a bit easier. No less painful when I do mind. But cleaning the teeth is a nightmare. Tsk!

Settled and watched some nodding-off affected TV.

Inchcock Today – Monday 18th September 2017: Audi Clinic Test, Dentist, Whoopsiedangleplop and Nottingham Photos

Monday 18th September 2017

0310hrs: I stirred in the £300 second-hand wobbly recliner, and simultaneously thought and was aware that I was doing the same thing, laid on the floor covered in mephitic straw in a barn, in Dickensian times? This thought lasted only a few seconds. Very odd!

I spotted the reminder notices I’d left for myself, and forced my way out of the recliner, and got the Health Checks done and took the medications.

Results today: Sys 132, Dia 61, Pulse 82, Temp 36.1, Weight 14.92. I was a little disappointed that the weight had not gone down at all, despite Incisor Suzie forcing me not to eat much at all? Sys and Dia both lowish this morning?

Got the average totals for last week from Excel. Looked about the same as usual to me, apart from the weight increase I mentioned, of course. Tsk!

Not the slightest sign of any Porcelain Throne activities needed. It’s been a while now. I considered taking a Senna, but Trotsky Terence has tricked me before! Haha!

I had a recheck that I had got all the things ready that would be needed today. Money for the bus, the bus times, Audio Booklet and appointment card etc.

The computer on and finished off the Monday diary. Then started this one off.

Checked the Emails, and WordPress reading and responding.

Facebooked for a while, not much time though, getting close to the ablutionising and departure time.

Had a super shower, and all things seemed to be calming down.

Haemorrhoid Harold had stopped bleeding and was stinging fare less now. ✓

Arthur Itis was very kind indeed! ✓

Even Hilda Hips had eased off! ✓

Reflux Roger, no bother at all! ✓

No Shaky Steven’s, no Dizzy Dennis’s either! ✓

Hernia Harry, not bad at all!

But, Anne Gyna and Duodenal Donald were backing up Incisor Tooth Suzie’s pains. ✕

And as yet, not Porcelain Throne session, for three days now? Oh, dear!

Feeling a lot better in myself now. I got ready and set off, taking the three sorted bin bags and dropped them down the chute at exactly 0800hrs.

Down in the lift, the shuddering lift with lights flickering and blinking. So much so, that I had the struggle to get today’s photographicalisation of the Mystery Blob that appeared about a week ago on the floor in there.

Testimony to the caring nature of our caretaker and his compassion for wildlife shows through in his not carefully cleaning the elevator’s floor for fear of harming the possibly Alien life-form, which has appeared and remained for the last week? Hehehe!

Set off using the collapsible walking stick, which is a little uncomfortable due to it being a  bit too long, by the time I reached the Obergruppenfurheresses empty shed, I stopped to collapse it and put it back in its bag. I noticed that the boarding, which has all been changed to a different colour. Has now had new signs attached to it, advertising the building company and Nottingham City Homes.

I pressed onto the end of the road and walked down Winchester Street Hill to the bus stop. Where a few moments later, I was joined by Newcastle Annie, bless her. We had a chinwag until her friend joined us and the bus arrived. We paid our £2 fares and were off on the way to town.

We were a little late arriving, due to the roadworks and temporary traffic lights.

The bus had to struggle through some very narrow gaps, but the driver did very well and manoeuvred the bus with aplomb and care.

As we turned down King Street, the driver had to jam the anchors on sharpishly.

1Mon08I was stood up at the time waiting to get off at the terminus.

Unfortunately, I banged and bent my thumb backwards as I stopped my self-going over. Tsk!

Walking down into the City Centre Slab Square, Annie caught me up. She was going to the bookies to buy her Irish Lottery Tickets. I wished her all the best of luck and proceeded on my hobble to the Standard Hill climb to the  Audio Clinic.

On my limp up Standard Hill, I spotted what to me, is a new posh Cafe opened.

This area has the highest priced property in the hole of Nottingham. How do these places make it pay? I could not find the cost of this building, but the next one up was… wait for it… £165,000 pa! £25.38 per square Foot per annum! No wonder they have to

charge so much:

6oz Rump Steak, 6oz! Blimey, it wouldn’t fill the hole in my tooth! Hehe!

With burning painful feet, I arrived at the top of the hill and entered the Audio Clinic.

Two, not seen before receptionists on duty. One smiled and beckoned me towards her as soon as she spotted me. She took my appointment card, and validation booklet gave me back the both and told me to take a seat, which I did. I got out the crossword book. There is a new system in place now. A loudish ‘Ping’ kept coming over the PA system, and eventually, I worked out that it was. When it sounded, a message came on the screen on the wall. The name of a patient appeared, with the message, such as:  “Bernard Funkgibbon is about to be called.” Excellent idea, that.

My name came up in about ten minutes, and a young lady came appeared and escorted me to a treatment room. She was a Student doing her first full examinations, with a qualified Audiologist in attendance.

The session was thorough and in depth. The student gal did not follow my humour, but the trained woman was finding it hard not to laugh. Particularly, when they had to ask me what medications I was on, and what for. I did make them laugh! Hehe!

The test results showed that my hearing had only gotten a tiny bit worse since 2009. They mended my current hearing aids for me to make do with until the new ones are ready. Then set about doing the ear moulds for me. They even gave me some batteries, four packs of five, bless em!

I thanked them both, and they walked me back to the waiting room area and said for me to wait until the receptionist calls me with an appointment for me to collect them and have them fitted-up for me.

Minutes later the friendly receptionist called me over. She handed me back the booklet and an appointment slip. I have to collect and have the new aids fitted on Monday 16th October at 1130hrs, in four-weeks time. I thought it might have been longer.

I exited and took the scenic route back into town so I could pass the Nottingham Castle gates. But the sight of this Fothergill Watson designed building caught my eye much more than the gates did.

Isn’t it just magnificent!

On the short journey down Friar Lane into the City Slab Square. There were endless Nottingham Pavement Cyclists, lurking and racing about. This Herbert was busy stopping and talking to youths, in between his mad crazy cycling so close to folks, I felt sure he would hit someone. Tsk! Naughty Boy!

Into the Square. The sky was alternating between bright and murky, now.

Mark my words, when I had to mount a rather precipitous step, Arthur Itis let me know his displeasure at the back of the knee. Nearly always a sign of wet weather on the way when he does this.

Up Queen Street and caught the L9 bus back to the flats. Luckily I remembered I was not going to the apartments yet but to the dentist! Huh, clot! So I stayed on the bus and dropped off in Sherwood.

For a Monday, Mansfield Road looked busy today.

I meandered up, across the road and into the dentist’s torture chamber. Haha!

I told the Obergefrieteress receptionist my problem with Incisor Suzzies tooth. She looked on her computer and said that ‘My’ dentist was very busy and could not see me for two or three days. I’m afraid I blurted out in reply: “Well that’s no problem, I don’t like the man anyway, I’ll see anyone who can see to me!” She produced a print-out and handed it to me, after checking I could attend tomorrow at 1230hrs. I have the INR blood test at 1100hrs. At the surgery, but should be able to get back well in time, so I agreed.

When I looked at the paper later, my dentist is apparently Dr Vitish Patel; I am to be seen by Snehali Patel. His brother, perhaps? Oh, no, Snehali is a female name I think. Maybe his Sister then? I’d just got used to the three Polish dentists language as well. Now all of them have moved home. I wonder why.

I thanked the lady and departed and caught a number 40 bus back up the hill to my snug little flat. Where I got in and made a cuppa. Took the medications, did the Health Checks, wondered why I still, did not need the use of the Porcelain Throne and set about getting the new dates and times of appointments written in the book and onto the Google diary.

I deliberated over what to try and eat for a nosh that was not soup but would be safe for the tooth. After a while, I decided to risk the beef pie and some potatoes. But with tons of gravy (Not my most successful thing,  making successful Bisto)

I know). I intend to chop up the pie and potatoes tiny, to make a sort of mash, after soaking them in gravy. What do you think, a good idea?

The sky came over all threatening and very dark.

I put the light on in the front room, but it didn’t do much good. Huh!

1445hrs: Then started to update this diary, in between wee-wees. Still no movement from the rear end whatsoever, not even any sign of my being likely to need the Porcelain Throne yet? Maybe, when I’ve eaten the mashed pie and potatoes in gravy, things might develop in that area? Haha!

1700hrs: Got caught up to here with the post.

Got the oven on and checked the crock pot potatoes.

Checked the Emails, WordPress.

It went even darker outside again, and the rain came.

Had a wee-wee.

Then I made a reminder note for myself and hung it on the TV screen.

Saw blood on my protruding belly.

The mouth had filled with blood from Incisor Tooth Suzie.

Rinsed out and gargled with TCP – by gum, that stung a bit. As I was clearing up afterwards, I noted that the Use-by date on the TCP was Oct 2015!

What an idiot I am!

1Mon21I got the meal sorted, chopped it all up on the plate and drenched it in gravy. For once, I got the gravy right. I used Bisto instant gravy, ¾ beef and ¼ caramelised.

I allowed it all to cool a little, then got it figested. Very palatable. Despite a few twinges from the tooth, it tasted right grand! The last banana was well ripe so no bother there, and the Lemon Meringue mousse was so light and fluffy to eat, there was no bother with eating that either.

I got washed and changed into fresh jammies and settled to read the Lenigrad book. Stopped a moment to ponder over the horror mankind brings on itself, and has done so ab inition, and I fell asleep.

Inchcock Today: Wednesday 8th March 2017 – Busy but betterer day!

Wednesday 8th March 2017

Sudanese: Kemis 9 Maret 2017

3Wed03

A  fragmentary dream filled sleep, with sporadic waking up and fretting over everything and nothing. Found I’d made more notes about the nightmares, but none of them readable at all. I do hate it when this happens. I go weeks without remembering any dreams, then a few days clarity and back to the mystery. Hey-ho!

0400hrs: Out of the  £300 wobbly second-hand recliner and to the porcelain. Good this morning, no bleeding anywhere. Duodenal Daniel and Roger Reflux were giving me what for, but easily endurable at the time. Pondered as I sat there on the throne, about what needed attention and action today. Morrison’s delivery 0630 >0730hrs, Dentist visit 0900hrs, Clinic 1130hrs and fresh bread needed.

Carried out the ablutions without getting any cuts shaving or bleeding from Inchies lesion. Things seemed to be going well. I was worried about this!

3Wed02Weighed me bulky, flobby, body. Down this morning, the first time for a while.  Into the kitchen and made a nice mug of tea, and did the health checks.

Into the kitchen and made a nice mug of Twinings English Breakfast tea. A bit scented, but nice occasionally. And did the health checks.

Then did the health checks and took the medications.

3Wed03The Morrison’s delivery driver arrived.

There seemed to be rather lot more fodder in the order today. So I set about sorting the stuff out

So I started sorting the stuff out.

I found the ‘Free’ Strawberry yoghourt pack and put it in the bag ready for when I get out, to drop it off at the Winwood Centre to give to Obergruppenfurheress’s Deana and Julie later.

I recall thinking about ordering some smoked streaky bacon when I did the order but thought I’d decided against this, as I had the Polish Bean Stew to have. But there were two packs of the stuff in there?

W3Computer activated and finished off yesterday’s diary and got it posted off, then started this one.

Cost me a good few hours of my life, and I was not really happy with the result, but I enjoyed doing it. I could tell things were improving in the depression stakes even if only a temporary situation, it cheered me a little and a very rare, warm contentment overcame me as I pressed on with graphicalisationing until it was nearly time to get myself ready for me to get out and do something for once.

I got the nibbles in the bag for the Wardens, record sheet for the Clinic and set out. Got as far as the lift and realised I had not taken the mobile with me, nipped back and collected it. Going down in the lift, it dawned on me I hadn’t got the hearing aids in… Tsk! Decided if I went back to the flat again, I’d be likely to be late for the dentist appointment, so plodded on without them.

I had a wond2tue09erfully warm laugh and conversation with a lady tenant in the lobby on my way out. Roy’s better half, who is as perfect a subject to lip-read as I have ever found.

Called at the bottle bank on Chestnut Grove first.

Then into the Winwood Hut to drop off the treats. Back, up Chestnut Walk, up the steep gravel hill passing the copse, (Anne Gyna let me know this was not a good idea, Hehe) left down through Woodthorpe Grange Park, left up Mansfield Road, over the hill and down to the Dentists. Had a bit of a farce trying to communicate with the receptionists without the hearing aids in. An assistant came down into the reception area to fetch me, this has never happened before, and I  realised she had been on the stairs behind calling my name without me hearing her for a while.

3Wed06I was booked in with a different dentist today, in a separate treatment room (Second floor), which involved my having to climb two set of stairs to get there. Luckily Arthur Itis was kind at that moment. (Although Anne Gyna was still annoyed at my walk up through the park) Dr Vitish Patel this time, Young Asian, designer stubble, handsome and with an almost entirely undecipherable voice.

The layout of the tiny room was different to the usual one and the chair easy to fall out of. The most surprising thing I noticed was the lack of dead insects in the ceiling lighting housing, compared to the usual room.

Got leant back and he carried out the checks within minutes and declared, I need a filling and a chipped front lower tooth repairing. The cracked tooth was not giving me any bother, mind you, the hole wasn’t either. I decided to have the filling done there and then when he offered to do it. Two minutes later, it was done.

Down to pay the characterless receptionist for the treatment, got next appointment and hobble out and down the road to the Wilko store. Where I bought a pack of cheap teaspoons to replace the mysteriously disappearing ones at the flat. Like the odd socks. I wonder if this happens to others? Also got some toilet blocks, bleach, antiseptic disinfectant, batteries for the radio, air spray and citrus deodorant.

Called in the bank, but the manager was unavailable today.

Back across the road and down to the Continental Deli shop. Where I spent, even more, money when I espied that they had some huge jars of Fasolka on the shelves, some bread and cooked belly pork with herbs.

3Wed04Made my way back up to Winchester Street Hill, in the hope of catching an L8 bus up to the flats, as I was now overloaded with heavy stuff in two bags. But the bus came around the corner as I was waiting to cross the road to the bus stop. Shame that!

I had to struggle up the hill with frequent stops to put the bags down and get me wind back.

As I arrived at the top and turned left towards 3Wed05the flats, I put the bags on the decaying roadside bench and stood for a few minutes, pondering on life in general.

The jargogle of thoughts served only to confuse me more about the reason for life’s creation.

Nowadays things are happening quicker, more intense, greedy, selfish, nihilistic… so much extra information and advice for the youngsters to absorb and understand.

Still, the day was warm and humid, and I was going to see Olive when I got in. The eerie sensation of semi-contentment attempting to overcome me unnerved my consciousness. I pondered on how long this would last and when the next Whoopsiedangleplop would arrive?

I pressed on and got into the flats and called on Olive. T’was like going into a room and being greeted with warmth and getting soaked in appreciation of being there.

She had the cleaner ladies with her, and she looked fantastic. She was going into hospital again next week, for the final tests to see if her Crohns disease will allow her to have her hip operation. Amazing woman, she looked cheery and chatted to me despite her obvious pain. I am honoured to know the lady. After a chinwag and laugh twixt us all, I gave her peck and returned with the bags to the flat.

3Wed02Put the shopping away and departed to catch the 40 bus straight to the clinic.

Mr Grumpy, was on the reception again today. Signed in and gave him the paperwork, took a seat and I waited to be called in. Good job I took the crossword book with me, because I got in alright, but 40 minutes after the appointment time. Still, they did look very busy.

They took the tissue sample, and the usual gang of students and nurses were joined by what appeared to be a new intake, all came to have a look (And have a snide poorly concealed giggle) as they peered through the gigantic lighted magnifying machine at Little Inchies lesion. After the examination proper, they took another sample (They probably found out it hurts? Hehe!) for further analysis. The Lady Doctor said she was pleased with the lesion’s depth reduction, but concerned about the swelling, and asked me detailed questions about recent activities in that area. Overall, it was improving, but infection is always possible and got the nurse to get me some new cream to use. This must be kept in the fridge and taken out only when I need to use it. Said this might help with the swelling and to use it along with the usual Daktacort Cream. She is to let me know the next appointment by email and letter.

Caught the bus (Thank heavens for the Pensioners Free Bus Pass) back to the flat, well drained and weary by then.

Got the nos3Wed08h on.

Roast spuds, mushrooms, garden peas, beetroot and some bread with belly pork and herb.

Maybe cause I was feeling a bit cheerier, I really did enjoy this one, and I gave it a deserved 9.59/10 rating.

Once I washed the pots and got settled into the £300 second-hand recliner, Anne Gyna gave me some peace and I got the DVD on to watch some Doctor Who episodes without falling asleep at all! Oh yes! Hehe!

When I changed to the TV to watch some selected programmes that I fancied… the first commercial break sent me off into the land of nod.

Thanks for reading folks!

Inchcock Today – Friday 9th September 2016: The indistinguishably of logicallity lingers

Friday 9th September 2016

p11108030500hrs: Woke with the same light-headedness that I had last night, coughing a bit, hard to concentrate. But no actual dizzies, this combined with the £300 second-hand recliner chair working correctly to release me for a WRHD session, that was painful (Nowt new there though) but blood free and I didn’t stub any toes, almost convinced me that things were getting better already! Hehe!

Noticed the note I’d left for myself under Koala Katie, and out the paperwork in my pocket for later.

Took the medications and made a cup of tea. When putting the weekly morning pill pots back in the drawer, I spotted just one tiny tablet stuck in the corner of Thursday mornings.

Ah-ha! I thought. Perhaps a possible explanation for last nights feelings of lethargy and weakness? It was the Bisoprolol tablet that I’d missed yesterday morning when I emptied the pot out to take the doses?I got

I got the laptop going and searched for “What if I miss a Bisoprolol dose?” As anticipated, it said if you are within 4 hours of the next dose due, do not take any extra. So I didn’t. This could be the cause of my depression and fogginess? I thought about whether or not to take some cough medicine to counter this nagging tussis I’ve had for 24 hours of so? After failing to find the bottle of cough medicine, I decided not to take any. Hahaha!

That’s the cough linctus and the new umbrella still to be found then, oh and the electric razor. I feel satisfied all three are lurking somewhere in my apartment?

Sod-it! The dizzies back, I thought I was doing well this morning.

Hello, another WRHD session! No bleeding again, though, just pain. Sneezing now!

Laptop back on and got yesterday’s diary finished and started this one off.

p1020586Went into the kitchen to make a brew, and this was the view. Fantastic I thought.

It looked like the homes in the centre, as they were lit by the upcoming sun from behind and to the left, were, The Chosen Ones!

I still get astounded by the views from here. And feel lucky to have them to look at.

0815hrs: Closed laptop down and readied for the trip to the dentists.

0001After the shower and shave, I bravely mounted the new scales.

Up just a pound (and a few ounces, but let’s not be pernickety eh?).

Called to see Olive on the way out, but no answer, perhaps a little early?

A little overcast this morning, but the sun got through on the odd occasions. I struggled up the gravel path into the park. But it was worth it and so beautiful up there. The trees and bushes so green, and occasionally stopped to watch the dogs walking their owners.

One dog, an elderly looking grey and white greyhound had really got this owner trained well. The ball was thrown, and he chased it picked it up and stood waiting, for the boss to get to him to pick it up and throw it again! I really enjoyed the walk through today.

Seemed to be feeling a bit better too. I did forget to get the cough medicine as I ambled down into Sherwood, passing the chemist on the way to the Dentist! Humph!

01fTwo girls crossing the heavy traffic on Mansfield Road drew some horn tooting from some of the drivers.

The pelican lights were about 100 yds further down the road. The gals just gave them the finger and carried on laughing.

I had to laugh too!

Into the dentist, to find they had knocked a wall down and changed the reception area to accommodate three receptionists now. The thick coating of gloss paint had only recently been done by the potent smell of it. Had to fill in a mega form and permission sanction form, then waited to be called.

The nurse called me I assume, but I didn’t hear her, so she came and shook me shoulder as I was doing the crossword book.

Up to the surgery, very quick they were today, I noticed the light fitting above the chair was much more populated with dead insects than on the last visit. They soon had me checked asked if I was in any pain, said you are okay, book another appointment with the receptionist on you way out… All done!

01hSettled the bill with the Obergruppenführeress on the desk. When she told me I’d to pay £19.50, it was only time she smiled. I thought it was £18 last time, maybe it’s gone up a bit. Not complaining mind, a lot better than having to go private and pay hundreds of pounds – although a private dentist may have higher quality flies in their light fittings to look at? Hehehe!

Out and was lucky enough to be in time to catch the L8 bus back up Winchester Hill and to the flats.

Had a blether with a lady from the 4th floor in the lift, we were both intent on getting our slippers on, making a cup of tea and visiting the porcelain!

Called in to see Olive, but no answer. Her family might have taken her out for the day.

I returned to the apartment and visited the porcelain, made a mug of tea and got me slippers, then laptop on. Added the dates to the Google and paper diary, then did a shopping order from Morrisons. Updated this post.

More work on the TFZ ‘Who’s watching’ graphic series. Got about 10 done now, but many more to do yet.

Got the chips in the oven and nipped off to visit Olive, and she was in. Lovely chinwag and mutual fondness seemed to be in the air. A kiss and a cuddle, and back to the flat to sort the meal out.

0001Although the fodder looked appetising, with the cold or whatever it is I’ve got, the taste-buds let me down and I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I should have. Mind you, I ate it all… out of habit more than relish I think?

Made an order online for delivery from Morrisons for tomorrow.

I’ve ordered some tiny cans of garden peas now the fresh ones are finishing. A lot dearer getting these little tins. When I was checking to see if I needed any more bleach, I found the missing cough medicine! Took a good swig of it.

Climbed into the £300 second-hand recliner chair with a mug of orange juice, some nibbles and the TV paper at my side, to settle and watch a DVD, “Quatermass 11” from the 1959 TV series and took the medications, remembering the ulcer medicine, not that it’s very effective but better than nothing.

Minutes later, I realised I’d not got the mobile phone nearby, got out of the now reluctant £300 second-hand recliner and retrieved the phone from my jacket pocket in the hallway. Climbed back into the £300 second-hand recliner chair to settle.

Minutes later, after I’d just started to watch Quatermass, I saw the curtains had not been drawn. Got out of the now reluctant to work and shuddering a bit £300 second-hand recliner and pulled them too. While doing this, I spotted I’d not got the alarm wristlet on – hobbled to the Wetroom where I found it on top of the porcelain, put it on and returned to the £300 second-hand recliner, and sat down without any hiatus, as it was now refusing to operate at all.

Then the nerves started, ‘Had I turned off the taps, locked the door, left the oven on, closed the kitchen window,  left the heater on in the wetroom?’

Got out of the now dormant £300 second-hand recliner yet again and checked around, all seemed okay, so back to the £300 second-hand recliner and found it working? Okay, it shook and whined a little, eventually, I settled again.

I started to watch the DVD and got through it without any nod-offs!

Had to dismount the £300 second-hand recliner in request intimated from the body for a WRHD session. (Tsk, no rest is there! Hehe!) I put down the extra WRHDs to the bug I’d caught.

The TV programmes I watched, after the DVD, were scattered with the nod-off moments.

Woke from a long doze around 0200hrs, coughing. Another trip to the porcelain was needed, this time, the £300 second-hand recliner worked seamlessly?

I’d been dreaming about high cliffs and trying to jump off but couldn’t get down, repeated efforts, nets would appear and catch me, giant birds scooped me up and replaced me the top again, as I tried again I’d find myself in a bath full of bubbles, got sucked down the drain and fell back at the head of the cliff again? There were so many other failed attempts and reasons for failure I’m sure, but of course, I cannot recall the others?

I sprang awake at 0415hrs or so, again in need of a WRHD session.

Inchcock Today Mon 18 Apr 16: Not a lot went right today again – Humph!

Monday 18 April 2016

Sat

No sleep – Dentist – Bus to Mansfield – Shopping – cleaning windows, rumbling innards, Little Inchy bled, Whoopsiedangleplops, Arthur Itis & Anne Gyna for company, tired and weary, ageing, had the shakes, broke his glasses, sat on them, Internet connection went down for 3 hours+, panic attack, good & bad news from the Steve Age UK & the Solicitor about the house sale, and have to miss Thursdays Social Hour!

Got up around 0300hrs, after a night of dreams and a few sessions of sleeping for a few minutes at a time, a bad kip!

WC’d, blood from Little Inchy again, the toilet was not flushing properly, made a cuppa and took the medications. Had a swig of the cough remedy at the same time.

Laptop on, Coreldraw not working properly again (All bar, the group and ungroup icons that were not working), ended the Sunday diary, checked the emails and started this journal off.

Opened Facebook in the hope that it would let me actually post something photographic-wise today. It did for a short time, about half an hour or so then started adding words to what I was typing? Humph!

Checked emails and then had a bath and medicated Little Inchy. Smelling sweet then (hehe), I took out the bins to the rubbish chute.

Came back to the living room to check that I had turned off the laptop properly, sat down and felt the reading glasses as they crushed beneath my bottom and the chair! Whoopsiedangleplop number one of the day. Tsk, Huh, and Gobbleknobends!

01I set out on the walk up and down through the park, left up the road and down it into Sherwood.

I got a call on the way but was too slow to hear and answer it – the number was showing, but I didn’t know it – so I rang them back and got a recorded message: “Thank you for returning the call from Nottingham City Council – we cannot answer your call but will attempt to contact you later” Or words to that effect.

P1020842

Steve Age UK Councillor rang me

Just after taking the photo above of the traffic, I got another call, this time from Steve Age UK. He said the solicitors (FraserBrown) woman had called him, and he had got a call from Deana Walker, did I know what it was about. I thought it odd getting a call from Steve after so long. I told she had helped me greatly by contacting the solicitors to find out what the situation was with the house sale. He then said he had spoken with them early last week, and things were going alright. I told him they told Deana last week it should all be sorted by next Friday? He said I’ll still have to go into the solicitor’s office to sign some more paperwork about the access passage to the premises again when they let him know the date, he’ll contact me? I thanked him. My head was spinning now!

Went into the Co-op food store and purchased a short dated salad bowl and a small loaf of bread.Out and to the Dentists to explain why I had to change my appointment date with them due to the Haematology appointments coming on the same day.

Out and to the Dentists to explain why I had to change my appointment time with them due to the Haematology appointments coming on the same day. I have to admit, the reception staff at this dentist outlet are such natural givers of contempt with their sneers and withering look giving abilities. They remind me Nazi concentration camp guards. Which, may be a deliberate and clever ploy from them – cause if you’re scared to death of the office staff, chances are your fear of the dentist will be less? No? Just a thought like.

Into Wilko and bought the fifth tin opener since moving into the flat, all the earlier ones have stopped working or fell to bits. Also got a mini-whisk so I can mix my gravy for the Crock-pot in a narrower tub when I don’t need to make so much. All good value mine, the tin-opener was £1 and the whisk only 39p.

Hobbled over to the bus stop and caught a Pronto bus into Mansfield. Getting a couple of crosswords done en route! Well, I’d already started them and had several goes over the months, so I finished a couple anyway.

In Mansfield, I left the bus station and walked down to the precinct and went in B & M to look for some bargains. There wasn’t any! However, I did treat myself to a bottle of ‘Cattlemen’s Master Reserve Kansas City Classic BBQ Sauce’ Mouthful innit?  Original Trademark of Memphis in May was printed on the bottle? Hope it tastes good. Also a packet of Maryland Big & Chunky Cookies and some fancy soups.

02When I made my way back to the bus station, I recognised ‘Bob’ the ten-shilling note pigeon with some of his family, so slipped them some seeds and dried earthworms on the way.

The bus arrived within minutes of my getting there, and I was soon off on my way, back to Nottingham. Had another bash at the crossword book. I dropped off in Sherwood. Had a natter with another tenant who was also waiting for the L8 bus.

Back at the flats, I called to see Deana, to see if she knew the number that had been calling me on my mobile, but she was not in.

03Back to the flat, WC’s then put away the bits I’d bought.

The potato and leek, and spicy parsnip soups I thought maybe I could use in the Crock-Pot while doing some other vegetables?

I’ll ask the girls on the  TFZ site later, they’ll know and explain things to me, bless em!

I managed to spill some cleaner on the kitchen floor when I was wiping the cooker, so did the floor as well. Got the shakes while doing it. Tsk!

04The sky was beautiful, so I tooketh a photographicalisation of it.

Got the oven on heating up, the plan is for some oven chips, beetroot and pork loin (or Wieska sausage?) with the just out-of-date salad, bread, and butter later perhaps?

A sudden change of plans on the food front: I’ll have battered fish fingers, fish cake, the salad with beetroot and bread and butter (Well, olive spread).

Got the laptop on and checked the emails then updated this tosh to here.

Another shaking session. But still, I ain’t complaining, not feeling anywhere near as bad as yesterday.

P1060125Turned the laptop off. Got the fodder laid out to I tuck into it!

As I photographed the meal, Steve Rang. The solicitor wanted to meet me on Thursday (First thought was having to miss the Tenants Social Hour – Sob and spit!). I’ve to meet him on the day at the solicitors offices.

I turned the laptop back on to look at the Google calendar – no signal, unable to access the internet. Told Steve that I’d call him back shortly: Being confident I could sort out whatever the problem was. (I say the most stupid things at times yer know!)

The fodder had gone cold by then. (life can be a swine at times!)

Rang Steve back and just agreed to meet Thursday, anytime after eleven o’clock – he said both he and the solicitor can only manage to meet at 1000am (The starting time for the tenants meeting – Grr and shuttle-pinkies!).

Had to agree, just to get the house sale moving at long last!

Threw the dinner in the bin and had a go at sorting the lack of Connection with the Virgin Internet box thingy. I got out all the paperwork from the Virgin folder seeking a number to ring for assistance. There was a free one, and one that cost £1 an hour plus connection fee. So first, I examined the mysterious (to me) Router box and found a reset hole. So I stuck a pen in it for a few seconds and the lights all came back on the box! By the time I got the laptop going, they had gone off again! So, I turned off the power to it, waited a few moments and turned it on again. Nothing, no lights came on, all five were out.

So I rang the free helpline. Thinking like a clot, that it must be better than the old BT helpline that had foreign assistants and even if could hear their voices I couldn’t understand them. That’s the reason I swapped from BT to Virgin when I moved to the flat. This was even worse, it was all press button number options, press so and so if… Your know what I mean. But the voices were mostly indecipherable to me, and when I didn’t hear or understand something, it moved on to the next option or told me to start again! It wanted the account number and area reference to be inputted – so I gave up and started again when I found these figures. Eventually (I think) it said ‘We will assess your system, please wait.’ So I did, for forty minutes of silence. Foolishly, I tried again and the same ending. Tried a third time and the voice spoke so quickly I couldn’t make out what she was saying right at the end. The only bit I understood was ‘You must ring back!’

So I sobbed and rung off. Turned everything off apart from the box and had in place of the cold once tasty food I threw away earlier, two biscuits and a slice of Marmite. Then put a DVD on and watched it, as I stewed inside and worried in case I’d done something wrong to the system.

Fell asleep for fifteen minutes, woke up and saw all five lights on the Virgin box were now lit up! They were flickering a bit mind. Gingerly I got the laptop on and opened the internet. (Gawd it was slow, but at least it worked!) Got this updated again.

Tried doing some Facebooking, but after a while, I was just so tired and drained.

What a messy, niggly, frustrating day I’ve begotten!

Inchcock Today Wed 30 Mar 16: Dentist saga – Plus UK Top 10 TV Shows from 1960

What we old biddies and baldies were watching in 1960

01W03a

Wednesday 30th March 2016

Woke up around 0400hrs and remembered the dentist appointment but could not recall the time. Sad, I know! So got the laptop on first to check on the Google calendar. 1115hrs.

Then to the WC, no bleeding from Little Inchy, but Hemo Oids was gushing a bit.

Made a cuppa and took the medications, and back to the porcelain for another heavy duty session?.

Cleaned up a bit in the kitchen when I went back to make another cuppa.

Returned and set about doing the graphic above, of the TV 1960 TV programmes.

Finished off the previous diary and then spotted the full pot of medications that I’d not taken yet, so I took them.

P1050958Out of the blue, I suddenly started to think of and miss Chrissie.

Whatever kicked off and ingeminated these emotions I’ve no idea. But I was transported for few moments back to the good times and the fun and games we’d enjoyed so very much.

I believed I could smell her at one time while I was looking at her photo on top of the electric fire. Don’t laugh! I thought then, the electric fire is the optimum position to reflect her memories.

Once more to the porcelain, three times know this morning? Best get rid before I get to the dentist, though.

Hello, I’m sneezing again, that reminded me I woke myself up sneezing earlier. The rain started coming again too, now.

01W04Checked the emails, I got one via Streetwise about the starting a new U3A starting nearby.

So I went on their site to find out more:

One a month meetings, Only £20 to pay annually. You can buy a drink at the meetings. These workshops have been designed not just Meetings, Only £20 to pay annually. You can buy a drink at the meetings. These workshops have been designed not just for Committee members but for any U3A member who might be interested in joining a Committee. The workshops home in on the U3A ethos and on helping committees to manage their U3As more effectively. Prospective committee members would gain a useful insight into how committees work from either of the two workshops. The beauty of workshops like this is the opportunity they afford delegates to share experiences by networking with members of other U3As.

Conveniently sited where there is not a bus service to reach it for me.

Conveniently held at the same time as my beloved Woodthorpe Social gathering hour.

Conveniently, I wasn’t interested!

01W03The roundabout walk to the dentist is not a long one, but I thought I’d show this diagram just in case I collapse on the way back like, then you’ll know where to search for the body.

Did some Facebooking then.

Ablutions tended to.

Set off up the gravel path to the park and left down onto Mansfield Road and towards the Dentist.Paid up, before treatment as is usual with this Stalag Dentist establishment. Read my book a bit and was commanded to go upstairs to treatment room two.

Received a phone all from Steve Age UK. Wonderful, after four weeks trying to get in touch with him. He is still finishing with me, but had had a telephone from the solicitors and need me to find the email address of the lawyers. He, to call at the flat later to pick it up?

Got in the dentists and paid up the fee, before treatment as is usual with this Stalag Dentist establishment. Read my book a bit and was commanded to go upstairs to treatment room two.

Where they told me the canal work was not being done today, just a clean and the fillings for the front two bottom teeth. They got the burner going, then filed and cleaned out the bits followed by a filling and further filing.

I noted that they had cleaned out the neon lighting cover since my previous visit. I know this because on my last visit I counted 75 flies and moths and one wasp in it. Today they were down to only 39 flies and moths.

I was told to make an appointment with the Obergruppenfurher receptionist, this I did. As I left the through the door, at the bus stop were two flat residents. So I didn’t walk back after all. I had a chat with them and caught the bus back up the Winchester Street Hill, having a laugh between up as we did.

Got in the flat and WC’d, made a cuppa.

Awaiting the arrival of Steve from Age UK.

Started sorting the paperwork folders.

Got the potatoes on the boil.

Deana Walker (Head honcho of the flats) called to do battery check on the alarm. Gave her an Easter egg for her and Julie.

Back to the sorting of the paperwork.

Still awaiting the arrival of Steve from Age UK.

Drained the potatoes. WC visit made another cup of tea.

Still awaiting the arrival of Steve from Age UK.

Received email from the surgery with the latest INR level reading. Down now to 2.2. So that’s 2.9 – 3.4 – 5.6 – 3.8 – 5.7 and now 2.2? Puzzling innit? Ah well!

Made a start on a graphic to use later.

Still awaiting the arrival of Steve from Age UK. (I’m losing heart here) I reckon because he lives close by, he’ll call really late in the day and say he has to rush he’s on his way home! Wanna bet? Cunning chap! Two days to go when I lose his services which he has not been supplying anyway. Bitter? Me?

Well, fancy that he just rang he’s not coming,  just wanted the email address for the solicitors. Now I’ve lost interest and faith!

P1050960Turned off the laptop and got the fodder dished up.

Pulled pork, potatoes and sticks. yogourt.

Rated this one as 8.9/10.Took medications.

Took medications.

TV’s from then on, feeling a bit down, but the thought of the Winwood Social hour tomorrow kept me going.

TTFN.

Inchcock Today Wed 27 Jan 16: An eventful day, I must say!

Wednesday 27th January 2016

Woke up around 0300hrs with the headphones still on and I was hanging halfway out of the chair.

Struggled to get myself repositioned to get up on my feet, and a sudden urge to use the porcelain throne overcame me.

The bodily action performance was a lot easier. Perhaps the Senna medication was working now.

But the blood from the haemorrhoids was scary to say the least. Oh, dearie me yes!

I attempted to get back to kip, without much luck, managed about a two-minute spell.

Although I did have a dream in the few seconds, I did manage. Amazing how in such a short time, such a long dream could be had? The details did not stay with me, something where I was a teenager, and then in battle, then buried. Then I was swimming in blood; that wasn’t a good idea as I can’t swim in real life, but found this exhilarating for some reason.

I laughed out loud, then struggled to get to my feet again, cleared up the mess, then make another cuppa.

Then Anne Gina started to give me some grief.

The laptop on, I finished off Tuesday’s dairy and started this one off.

Checked the emails. Reminder from Morrisons that the order will be here twixt 8-9 o’clock today – Doctors Surgery confirming tomorrow’s appointment, Nine circular type can-I-sell-you something emails, a funny from Cyber-mate Andy but no reply from Steve Age UK about his coming to sort the problem out with the Solicitor and plumber for me.

I’m getting uptight about the non-action in this House selling department again.

01W02Oh, I got my weekly Grammarly Summary too.

Ah-well!

It would help if I understood some of the terms used?

Squinting Modifier?

Gerund? To name just two.  Oh, and passive ending to a sentence and unclear antecedent?

I look them up, and I can’t understand the descriptions. Thick pillock with bar, that’s me!

English was the only subject I got on with at school too. But it was given to my class by the Arts teacher Mr Simons. (Blimey, I can remember the names of some of the teachers now, but not the number of the bus I need to catch to get to the City Hospital?)

The main thing to learn at my school was physical survival. The interest of the teachers matched the interest of the pupils I’m afraid – Uninterested!

I nipped in the bathroom to have a wash, but no shave. I don’t want to use the razors while the INR level is so high and I’m already leaking blood from Little Inch and the haemorrhoids so much, I won’t risk cutting myself. This, of course, entailed me purchasing the electric shaver yesterday – the electric shaver that did not come with an adaptor so I could plug in it to use or charge it! Humph!

After the Morrisons shop gets delivered, I’ll have a hobble down into Sherwood and see if I can get one from Wilkinsons.

I was having a wash when the Morrisons chappie-fellow arrived dead on the dot at 0800hrs.

He was in a rush but found time to cram the stuff on my mobile trolley for me, before shooting off.

I finished my ablutions (No shave obviously). Put away the fodder that had been delivered.

Then I split the Village loaf of bread into three equal bags and put two in my shopping bag to take with me and drop off at the Winwood Community Shed for the coordinators.

Deerhat1Took the rubbish bags to the chute, and set off to the centre. Left the bread treats and set off up the footpath and up the hill into Woodthorpe Grange Park. Half way up, the howling winds were belting away, so I took a photograph trying to catch the trees in a bent position in the wind. But, the wind was swirling the trees too quickly.

Half way up, the howling winds were belting away, so I took a photograph trying to catch the trees in a bent position in the wind. But, the wind was swirling the trees too quickly.

Deerhat2The wind was not a cold one this morning, but the sun refused to come out at all.

Into the park and down to Mansfield Road, left up the hill into Sherwood, where the traffic was heavy, and I just missed being able to photograph some Sherwood Pavement Cyclist, they were too quick for me too!

GC (01c)I got into Wilkinsons shop and searched for the shaver adapters.

Again proving my worth as a shopaholic by purchasing more than I had planned to get.

Still, at least, I did get the adaptor.

I must stop doing this!

Walked down the hill because I could smell the aroma from the takeaway food outlet. They had some ready cooked shepherds pie I couldn’t resist, so I got one to warm up later back at the flat.

GC (3)On the way back up the hill, I called in the Dentist, as I was not sure of the date of my next appointment and had not received any letter informing me.

I hobbled up the handily placed mountainous steps into the surgery, and as I approached the reception desk there was a large sign saying: “We no longer send out appointment reminders” Take Note! Failure to attend appointments will mean a £60 Fine.

The next sign to the right of it read; “We no longer supply NHS Cosmetic needs, they are now Private. Minimum Charge £6o.”

I was looking for the Arbeit Macht Free sign, but couldn’t see it? Hehe!

The lady receptionist told me to wait, as she finished something on her monitor, so I waited. (Well, I assume she was one) Told me to wait, as she finished something on her monitor, so I waited. I decided I needed to nice to this one, the cold eyes or was it the twisted sneer on her lips? I wasn’t sure, but he scared the hell out of me just looking at me!

As she finished whatever it was she was doing, her strong, steady voice barked out simply “Yes?”

I mumbled that I would like to check my next appointment date please – I forced a smile onto my trembling lips.

She spoke again; “Yes, wait!”

I waited.

The voice rang out again; “I print out for you… Yes!”

“Yes please, thank you…” I nervously replied.

She handed me an A4 print-out with a crisp stabbing arm.

I thanked her again and beat a hasty retreat. Not knowing if she’d issued any late demands or orders to me. But hoping she hadn’t.

I nearly fell the steps as I left the building, such was my desire to put as great a distance between me and the Obergruppenfurher receptionist as I could.

And just to think, I’ve got to go back for treatment on Tuesday 8th March at 1015hrs. Doesn’t bother me, though. Fib2

Back up to the bus-stop in the hope that an L9 or 40 bus just might be due shortly to take me back up the hill to the flats – but no of course not. I’d missed the L9 by a few minutes, and the next one was due in over an hour.

I’d missed the L9 by a few minutes, and the next one was due in over an hour.

GC (01a)At the time, this irked me a bit, but when I carried on up and over the hill and into the Woodthorpe Park, I was glad a bus was not due. I met an old greyhound with his pet owner going up the footpath, another dog I fell in love with.

He was not a puss-pot but responded and wagged his tail when I made a fuss of him. His pet kindly allowed me to take a photo of them both. His name was either Yogi or Yoki. Amazing how my memory can fail in such a short time innit? Huh!

GC (2)I pressed on and got back through the winds and into the flat again. The howling winds seem ever present today.

The first thing I noticed was the state of the bedroom, or rather things that need doing storage room. Haha!

As soon as the INR blood level gets back to normal, I might find time to get the four sets of four drawer storage cabinets out of their boxes and made use of? Maybe not, I expect the solicitor, the clinic or something else will me demanding my time again.

GC (01d)I put the bits away I’d purchased and got the new shaver charging as last.

It says on the micro printed 2 x 3.5-inch leaflet that came with the shaver, it’ll tale eight hours to charge.

I anticipate I’ll be asleep by then? But maybe not, knowing the trouble I’ve been having getting to nod off lately at night?

CG poorly2Twas then I spotted an intruder in the kitchen!

This ‘appearance of the flies’ often happens in the kitchen for some reason.

Occasionally it is one odd meat-fly, often a few of them.

BJ reckons it is when one of the other tenants snuffs it and know one notices until all the nearby flats get the meat flies? He’s always trying to cheer me up is my mate BJ.

P1020931The weather turned threatening – and the rain started a few minute after I took this photograph.

Got the laptop going and updated this diary.

Got the nosh going – Shepherds pie in the oven with some chips and a beef pastry adding some potato cakes later if I remember to. Tsk!

Did some cleaning in the bathroom.

P1020930Got the marvellous fodder ready, and demolished it in short time.

Then had a mini pot of ice cream. Rated this meal as 9.64/10

Steve Age UK rang the intercom button and came up with two bills for me to pay. That was kind of him. Hehe!

£60 for the plumber who had turned off the water in the central heating at the old house, and one from the Plumber who came to mend the boiler but couldn’t? Call out fee I suppose that one was.

We had a natter and a cuppa, and he was off.

Two letters had been delivered, one a questionnaire from Nottingham City Homes the other the last INR Warfarin blood level results. Gone up to 5.9 now? Going in tomorrow for another test at 1115hrs at the surgery.

Checked the battery on charge in the new shaver, not ready yet.

Laptop on to update this diary.

Did some Facebooking.

Had a horrible time trying to get to sleep, Tsk!

Fri 18 Sept 15: Inchcock Today – Busy getting nowt done. Tsk!

Friday 18th September 2015

01topdWoke 0610hrs, again distorted but not uncomfortable, in me brown chair in which I fell asleep reading me book.

Cramp free night again!

Thoughts of me dreams were noted down.

I pondered on the day ahead – by now I’d learned not to make many plans for it, as they usually don’t mature well. IMG_0022Hehe!

Still, here they are: See Deana to get help phoning the Council – then the dentist, then the Clinic to fetch me cream for ‘Little Inchy’, then see if the shop had any more of those tasty BBQ Firedogs in stock. Failed to get the Firedogs. Huh!

Cuppa brewed and took me morning mediations.

Laptop on, to the WC.

Me dreams were not good. They involved me amongst boats, barges, canal locks… People running around chasing, being chased, lost, aggressive and all blaming me for something, no idea what it was but extreme feelings of guilt prevailed throughout the dream. Struggled to work out how the boat worked – Lost a Thermos flask I recall – Realised at one stage I had no shoes and socks on when I was in an engine room, oily muddy water… then I was in a hospital and was drawing noughts and crosses on someone’s leg plaster-cast? – last memory was falling off a lock side into the murky water and bouncing off it?

Checked emails then finished off the Wednesday diary and got it posted.

Got missen and the things ready for me day ahead, and set off on part one of days missions, to the Winwood Community shed, as Deana knocked on the door!

01topjShe got on t’phone ans sorted me election registration out for me, bless her, and she’s on her own at the moment, cause Obergruppenfurher Julie is off work due to he mother passing away. I thanked her and gave her some nibbles.

Checked the flat (Taps, windows. plus 01tophetc) and set on on e walk through Woodthorpe Park into Sherwood and the dentists.

The usual welcome was given, ” Take a seat and wait!” was barked out in true Concentration Camp fashion…, so I took a seat and waited.

After a short while of me having a go at me crossword book a lady barked “Chambers, Chambers…!” I made missen known: “Go to treatment room 3, yes!”

So I hobbled up the stairs to treatment room 3 and waited.

An assistant came in and moved me to surgery room 1. Where I noticed they hadn’t yet mended the tear in the surgery seat, or mended the split in the sink either.

Another lady came in later and moved me again, to surgery room 2.

It was interesting at the dentist today anyway.

The dentist arrived and was very pleasant as she dug the pain-killing injection into me gum with a smile that reminded me of Margaret Thatcher’s.

01topgAfter a bit of drilling and prodding she got the filler into what was left of me tooth, then set about making out the bill for me after asking if I felt alright, followed by a forceful ‘Yes!’

I nodded my ‘Yes’ in reply.

During these exercises I noticed there were 27 insects in the lamp-holder on the ceiling. I considered telling her about this when I could talk again – but decided against it.

Then remembered she had told me about my needing an extraction last time, so bravely I asked her about this. She looked at me with a frown and asked me which one, after failing to find it on her computer. I pointed out the offending tooth and she said “We’ll have to do that next time then, ‘Yes!!!” I agreed.

I pointed out that it was beginning to hurt sometimes when I ate…

“You can call if this is the case and it gets too bad… Yes!”

By now I was a bag of nerves. Not due to the pain or bother, just of her commanding voice! Hehe!

She presented me with a bill for £89 – and i pointed out that the bill she gave me last time for today’s treatment was for £32.50?

She checked on the computer and she said this total included the money for the general check… I told her I’d paid that already as demanded by the receptionist on my last visit!

She checked again on the computer – “Oh yes that is right, You pay £32.50 today! Yes!!!”

So I hobbled down the stairs and paid me £32.50 to the receptionist – very confused now!

She made an appointment for next time asking me if I have any preference for the day – I said no problem, any day bar a Monday please, as Mondays are my INR Warfarin blood checks and clinic day.

She made a date and gave me the print-out and estimated cost – it was for Monday 7th March 2016, with an estimate of £32.50 costs.

Boldly I mentioned that it was for a Monday, he said nowt but pounded away on her machine and gave me another appointment slip for Tuesday 8th March, with an estimate of £51.30!

Now totally confused I left.

Caught a bus across the road into Bulwell. Where, despite visiting many shops I could find no FireDogs or Blackcurrant ice-dream lollies.

01topfHowever on arrival in Bulwell, I got a loaf of bread fed the Mallards and pigeons on the river Leen this along with the earthworms I’d taken with me for them.

Then I walked along and called in the Pound shop to see if they had any of the lavender disinfectant in stock, they hadn’t.

01topeNot an overly successful day up to now.

The Market place looked so unlike a Market place.

No bartering or anything that you expect form a market at all – the goods were crap and not cheap as well.

01topdI walked down to the other shops in search of some Lavender disinfectant and/or iced lollies without any luck.

The place was teeming with Mobility Scooters with drivers who were not really safe.

Mind you, Bulwell has the highest number of registered disabled folk in the County.

01topbI caught a bus into town, to have a look see for me Lavender disinfectant and/or blackcurrant iced lollies – again without any luck. Hobbled (Painfully now, me knees and feet were playing up bad) to the shopping mall. Then back into town.

Where a small group of protesters in front of the Council house attracted the attention of the police.

01topaAs I made me way to the bus stop, some more police were seen going into Primark I think, most likely to arrest some more shoplifters.

Caught the L9 bus back to the flats.

Part way there, going through Carlton, a chap with two others got on the bus. The big one of the two others, obviously a pupil from the nearby Rosehill Special School sat next to me and nearly crushed me. I know something of the problems these men and youths have from me security days when we did the alarm responses for the school.

One one occasion after the monitoring station had informed us an activation, the police contacted me to say they thought it was an old pupil who’d broke in, he’d been moved to Birmingham, and had somehow escaped from his parents care to go back to the school, where he was so happy. No bad intentions on his behalf but we must take care as this lad know no pain physically and has been known to be violent. They were transporting the parent to the site as they were the only people who had a modicum of effect with him. It hours, and they had problems convincing him to leave – we did want to try and force the lad as he and we would not be aware if he got hurt. Hell of of night that was.

And i think this bloke crushing against the window was this lad, although obviously now he was a bloke.

Any-road, when it came to my getting off the bus – the bloke would not acknowledge me or make way for me to get off the seat or bus.

I remembered his Christian name and used it as I tried gently to convince him and it worked. The chap in charge of the two bloke was very impressed.

Although one Herbert sat at the front got a bit het up and swore at him and I and the carer tried to explain to him about the blokes problems to no avail.

01topI got off and made me way to the flat, feeling so upset for the affected bloke, who never spoke.

Got into the flat and more mail, one for the last tenant one for me. The one for me cheered my up tremendously I can tell yers.

It was from a Cyber-friend in America.

It offered support and empathy of my situation.

I like to thank her most deeply. I was touched by this, that anyone would go to the time, cost and effort to support someone so far away I found fantastic! Thanks a million gal! XXX.

This made a bad day, a good dayP1020046all on its own.

WC’d. Got the laptop on to start and finish this diary off.

Made me nosh.

Polish Sopocka, new potatoes, sweet beetroot, apple, tossed red peppers and mushrooms, last of me cheese cubes, wholemeal bread with caramelised red onion relish. Followed by a jelly and fromage frais.

Still had trouble nodding off despite feeling so tired?

Stomach churning.

Woke at 0315hrs – Blimey it’s cold this morning. WC’d, ‘Little Inchy’ worse than ever, blood all over me togs, more extra washing again, Tsk!

Made a cuppa and took me medications as I shivered away – I must get to see someone today to explain this Night-Storage heating system and how it works.

Laptop on and finished yesterdays and started this diary. The USB extension thingy still have to be plugged-unplugged several times before the laptop can read it?

PKGCFinished a graphic on Coreldraw X7 and Corelpaint of Patricia Kropf.

I’ve been working on this one for a time now when I’ve had the chance.

Glad itcame out alright.

Remembered the Morrison delivery coming this morning, then I have to get ready for the visitation to the dentist for me extraction and filling.

Lesser men than I would be nervous about this yer know.

Doesn’t bother me in the slightest, no fear at all, I welcome the pain.4IT6

Made a cuppa and then had a spruce-up, shave and… other things in the bathroom…

Took rubbish and recycle bags and threw them down the waste hute on me way to the community shed to ask Deana if they could so anything with helping me to be able to open the kitchen window to clean it.

P1000022She is on holiday, at the same time that the Camp Obergruppenfurher Julie is? Bad planning that innit?

Walked up and through Woodthorpe Park and into Sherwood, avoiding the many Pavement cyclists and dogs en-route.

Arrived in plenty of time for the dentist so I called in the charity shop to see if they had any furniture, bed or curtains I might invest in.

P1000024They hadn’t.

Back to the Polish dentists, where the receptionist who scares the hell out of me was on duty. I handed her me appointment letter… She looked on the computer and gave me a look of disdain adding: “I am calling you this morning and you are not answering no!”

Me: “No, I mean yes that’s right, I was in the bath when you called, there was no number to ring back on, so I didn’t know it was you.

Her: “This is not good! The dentist is off sick! I needed to inform you, Yes!”

Me: “Not my fault is it?”

Her: “Ve vill have to make anther appointment” – the keys rattled on her machine and she handed me a print-out of the new appointment – 18th Sept!

Me: “Where will I be sending the charge to?” I asked smilingly

Her: “Wos?!

Me: “Well you inform me that if I fail to turn up for any appointment, you will charge me a minimum of £18.50. So who do I charge the £18.50 to then?”

Her: “We no pay, you failed to answer your phone!”

Me: “Which I wouldn’t have done if your dentist had not gone sick – yes?”

Her: At this she turned and spoke with one of the other camp Kommandant receptionists then said: “Ve can take you off of our list your are avare of this yes?”

Me: Grinning broadly I replied: “I was joking, only joking, but you agree it should work both vays yes?” I enjoyed that!

P1000025I left and wobbled down to Wilko’s, where I went in to get some more wood dye.

I came out with an a 16mb SD card, £5 wardrobe organiser, Pledge polish, Wipe roll, Dusters, soap capsules, Olive oil, kitchen cleaner, bathroom cleaner and 375mg magnesium & Vit B tablets!

P1000026Walked up through Sherwood to the bus-stop and had a peep see if the L9 or L8 bus was due.

Found I’d just missed them both.

Hey-ho.

P1000028Me:

Got some bits from the Cooperative store.

Some red peppers, and a packet of biscuits.

Pavement cyclists were about as usual but with the two bags I could not get me camera out in tome to catch em.

P1000027The traffic was building up as I limped up the hill over it and into Woodthorpe Park.

Getting a bit nippy now.

A feeling came over me that I must top this spending.

For some reason I remembered dreaming of Lynton Cox last night – something about him giving a lecture and I couldn’t get the lectern lights to work?

P1000029As I walked up the footpath through the park up to where I turn right and down to the flats, I noticed a chap with a dog on the longest lead I’ve ever seen.

It wasn’t one of those reel-in-out ones.

In this picture the hap still had more dog-lead in loops on his arm to use.

P1000030I walked through a little clump of trees in the way down the hill in hopes of seeing some wild-life to photograph.

When I came out of the wood, a beautiful scene met me.

Back onto the path and down to the flats.

Got in the flat, WC’d, and got the laptop on.

Updated this tosh.

P1000031Put the new date for the dentist visit in my Google diary.

Got me salad ready: Cheese, apple, sliced tossed peppers in Virgin Oil, raw garden peas, tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, beetroot, potato salad, pork and pickle pork pie and some parsnips I roasted in’t oven – and burnt!

Did some graphicalisationing and then got the nosh down me. Rated it 8.6/10

The weariness dawned again and I did nowt but snooze for ten minutes or so, wake-up, pass wind and snooze again all night! Tsk!

Mon 7 Sept 15: Inchcock Today – Medical mayhem

Monday 7th September 2015

01topa

Up at 0230hrs… WC visit.

Arthur Itis not so bad this morning. But give him time…

Made a cuppa and started the laptop. Had a problem with getting the external storage drive to load. Tried connecting through the new multi-USB thing then directly to the laptop – which didn’t find it? After many attempts suddenly it read it?

So I downloaded all me work saved onto it to the Documents folder on the laptop – which defeats the object of having the external-drive in the first place to save using space on me hard-drive? Tsk!

Finished Sundays diary off and got it posted, then started on this one.

WC’d.

After a couple of hours I’d caught up, made a cuppa and took me medications.

GP for me Warfarin blood tests this morning, then the clinic to have ‘Little Inch’ looked at again.

DSC00060It’s a bit nippy this morning and drab with it.

Took a photograph from the kitchen window here to show you.

It’s grand having a view like this every morning to look at.

I wondered as I perused the view, how many Nottingham Pavement Cyclists, shoplifters and alcoholics lived nearby.

Only joking!

Off to the doctors to see the nurse for me Warfarin Blood-test. Remembered on the way out to drop off the previous tenants letters at the Woodthorpe Community Shed – the door was open but nobody inside, so left the letters and some nibbles on the table for Camp Guards. (Hehe, I’m feeling witty this morning?)

Also remembered I had to collect me prescriptions from the chemist as well today.

Set off down the Winchester Street hill, and right up Mansfield Road hill into Carrington. Over the top and down, crossed over and called in the paper shop and treated missen to a newspaper (Cause I forgotten to put me crossword book in me bag to do at the GP and clinic while waiting like – Tsk!), then on to the chemists.

DSC00062I got the prescriptions given me in a bag on their own. I could have done with a trolley! Hehe.

Then I called at Lidl to get a pork pie. Came out of Lidl with the pork pie, a Polish Zywiecka Extra pork Sausage slice, sautéed onion potato slices and a pot of Crème Fraiche… I can hear you asking what’s the plonker bought Crème Fraiche for?

Well you see I misread it for DSC00063cream cheese.

One of the TFZ gals recommended cream cheese fer me to try yer see – and I couldn’t find any until today – well no, that’s not right cause it was Crème Fraiche that I found wonnit?

Anyway, if anyone would be kind DSC00064enough to tell me wot Crème Fraiche is and  how and what to eat it with I’d me be grateful please, before its sell-by date.

Thanking you in advance. I’m trying out new recipes inspired by the TFZ gals yer know. Must thank em the angels, when I get on Facebook again.

I’m looking forward to trying the sautéed potatoes later. Mind you, I noticed it had two orange warning tabs on it? Humph!

So, (Heavily ladened) I nipped down to the surgery to see the nurse. Booked missen in and started reading the newspaper.

When I got called in, I was so glad to see it was Nurse Ann on duty and not Nurse Gruppenfurher… er, Glenda.

She sorted me nicely like, and I asked her to take the nibbles I’d brought for the staff and departed.

01topaCaught a bus to the City Hospital.

Got in the clinic and signed in with Mr Gloom and doom on the reception. People like him should really have a different career yer know. Maybe a hangman or assassin would suit him better. Just a thought.

Went through and sat down, got me crossword book out cause I had  good half hour until me appointed time, and a lady came to collect me within two minutes of me starting the crossword.

The usual talk and questions before she took in a treatment room and had a look at ‘Little Inch’s lesion. Always an embarrassing practice this, fer me, not the doctor. After a few oohs and arghs and telling me she didn’t like the look of it… she covered me up with a paper sheet and told me she would be back shortly with a colleague who she wanted to look over ‘Little Inchy’.

Deja vu at this stage – all this happened on me last visit – I wondered if the same female doctor who came last time would return with the young doctor again?

It was too! After asking about when I how much of the last cream given me I applied – the two doctor got their heads together and told me they were going to ask the chemist there to make up a one-off cream for me to try this time. It would take a while to make up and I could wait in the waiting area.

So, I waited in the waiting area – and nearly finished me crossword book before a different lady turned up and told me how much and when to apply this new cream – and under no circumstance was I to apply it anywhere other than on the lesion itself.

I have to return in three weeks, unless any problems, then I must go back to them, or to the Out Patients at the hospital if they are not open at the time, and take my record card with me.

I pointed out that I do not have a record card. That really cheered up Mr Doom and Gloom on the reception when the doctor queried with him why I wasn’t given one on me first visit month ago…

If looks could kill, I’d have been a gonna then!

I sat down and waited again. A completely different person arrived calling me name – they will post me an updated card through the post.

Glad to be out of the way of Doom and Gloom’s stares, I departed and caught a bus back into Sherwood.

Walked up through Woodthorpe Court and down back to the flat.

Once in, I visited the WC and noticed how full me laundry bag was.

Put me nosh away, stored and rotated my medicines in the dedicated draw, WC’d again.

Then I got the soap and softener in the bag of laundry with me newspaper (Daily Mirror) and into the lift – down to the floor, realised I’d not taken the 20p’s for the machines, back up to the 12th floor, got the coins and down to the ground floor again.

Got the washing machine going, then I checked the filters in the driers – both were well clogged up. Not been cleaned for ages.

So, as a favour to the dirty idle tenants who don’t clean them, I cleaned them – Again! Tsk! There are some of the tenants who can’t get down to clean them though, it’s not easy if your a tad immobile.

Read me newspaper while the washing washed – then moved me togs into the drier.

And elderly lady came down who was new to the camp – and I had the pleasure of showing her the procedure.

I’d planned to take me camera out and have a walk around the blocks for a while to see if any photo-opportunities arose nature wise, but it started looking  bit windy, so I went back in, I’d foolishly left me newspaper on the seat, when i re-entered one of the women who don’t clean the filters but could if she wanted was nicking me newspaper! Humph!

Had a go at the crossword book until the drier had finished. I put me togs in the bag and cleaned the filter – I say, Cleaned the filter!

Went up to the flat and put me togs in the airing cupboard.

DSCF1001Updated this diary and then got me nosh on.

The Sautéed potatoes, last two hot dog sausages, beetroot, lettuce and beetroot bread with BBQ sauce. Followed by lemon mousse.

Tomorrow is the Dentist – one filling, one extraction.

That’ll be something to look forward to!

TTFN.
