Inchcock Today – Friday 9th September 2016: The indistinguishably of logicallity lingers

Friday 9th September 2016

p11108030500hrs: Woke with the same light-headedness that I had last night, coughing a bit, hard to concentrate. But no actual dizzies, this combined with the £300 second-hand recliner chair working correctly to release me for a WRHD session, that was painful (Nowt new there though) but blood free and I didn’t stub any toes, almost convinced me that things were getting better already! Hehe!

Noticed the note I’d left for myself under Koala Katie, and out the paperwork in my pocket for later.

Took the medications and made a cup of tea. When putting the weekly morning pill pots back in the drawer, I spotted just one tiny tablet stuck in the corner of Thursday mornings.

Ah-ha! I thought. Perhaps a possible explanation for last nights feelings of lethargy and weakness? It was the Bisoprolol tablet that I’d missed yesterday morning when I emptied the pot out to take the doses?I got

I got the laptop going and searched for “What if I miss a Bisoprolol dose?” As anticipated, it said if you are within 4 hours of the next dose due, do not take any extra. So I didn’t. This could be the cause of my depression and fogginess? I thought about whether or not to take some cough medicine to counter this nagging tussis I’ve had for 24 hours of so? After failing to find the bottle of cough medicine, I decided not to take any. Hahaha!

That’s the cough linctus and the new umbrella still to be found then, oh and the electric razor. I feel satisfied all three are lurking somewhere in my apartment?

Sod-it! The dizzies back, I thought I was doing well this morning.

Hello, another WRHD session! No bleeding again, though, just pain. Sneezing now!

Laptop back on and got yesterday’s diary finished and started this one off.

p1020586Went into the kitchen to make a brew, and this was the view. Fantastic I thought.

It looked like the homes in the centre, as they were lit by the upcoming sun from behind and to the left, were, The Chosen Ones!

I still get astounded by the views from here. And feel lucky to have them to look at.

0815hrs: Closed laptop down and readied for the trip to the dentists.

0001After the shower and shave, I bravely mounted the new scales.

Up just a pound (and a few ounces, but let’s not be pernickety eh?).

Called to see Olive on the way out, but no answer, perhaps a little early?

A little overcast this morning, but the sun got through on the odd occasions. I struggled up the gravel path into the park. But it was worth it and so beautiful up there. The trees and bushes so green, and occasionally stopped to watch the dogs walking their owners.

One dog, an elderly looking grey and white greyhound had really got this owner trained well. The ball was thrown, and he chased it picked it up and stood waiting, for the boss to get to him to pick it up and throw it again! I really enjoyed the walk through today.

Seemed to be feeling a bit better too. I did forget to get the cough medicine as I ambled down into Sherwood, passing the chemist on the way to the Dentist! Humph!

01fTwo girls crossing the heavy traffic on Mansfield Road drew some horn tooting from some of the drivers.

The pelican lights were about 100 yds further down the road. The gals just gave them the finger and carried on laughing.

I had to laugh too!

Into the dentist, to find they had knocked a wall down and changed the reception area to accommodate three receptionists now. The thick coating of gloss paint had only recently been done by the potent smell of it. Had to fill in a mega form and permission sanction form, then waited to be called.

The nurse called me I assume, but I didn’t hear her, so she came and shook me shoulder as I was doing the crossword book.

Up to the surgery, very quick they were today, I noticed the light fitting above the chair was much more populated with dead insects than on the last visit. They soon had me checked asked if I was in any pain, said you are okay, book another appointment with the receptionist on you way out… All done!

01hSettled the bill with the Obergruppenführeress on the desk. When she told me I’d to pay £19.50, it was only time she smiled. I thought it was £18 last time, maybe it’s gone up a bit. Not complaining mind, a lot better than having to go private and pay hundreds of pounds – although a private dentist may have higher quality flies in their light fittings to look at? Hehehe!

Out and was lucky enough to be in time to catch the L8 bus back up Winchester Hill and to the flats.

Had a blether with a lady from the 4th floor in the lift, we were both intent on getting our slippers on, making a cup of tea and visiting the porcelain!

Called in to see Olive, but no answer. Her family might have taken her out for the day.

I returned to the apartment and visited the porcelain, made a mug of tea and got me slippers, then laptop on. Added the dates to the Google and paper diary, then did a shopping order from Morrisons. Updated this post.

More work on the TFZ ‘Who’s watching’ graphic series. Got about 10 done now, but many more to do yet.

Got the chips in the oven and nipped off to visit Olive, and she was in. Lovely chinwag and mutual fondness seemed to be in the air. A kiss and a cuddle, and back to the flat to sort the meal out.

0001Although the fodder looked appetising, with the cold or whatever it is I’ve got, the taste-buds let me down and I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I should have. Mind you, I ate it all… out of habit more than relish I think?

Made an order online for delivery from Morrisons for tomorrow.

I’ve ordered some tiny cans of garden peas now the fresh ones are finishing. A lot dearer getting these little tins. When I was checking to see if I needed any more bleach, I found the missing cough medicine! Took a good swig of it.

Climbed into the £300 second-hand recliner chair with a mug of orange juice, some nibbles and the TV paper at my side, to settle and watch a DVD, “Quatermass 11” from the 1959 TV series and took the medications, remembering the ulcer medicine, not that it’s very effective but better than nothing.

Minutes later, I realised I’d not got the mobile phone nearby, got out of the now reluctant £300 second-hand recliner and retrieved the phone from my jacket pocket in the hallway. Climbed back into the £300 second-hand recliner chair to settle.

Minutes later, after I’d just started to watch Quatermass, I saw the curtains had not been drawn. Got out of the now reluctant to work and shuddering a bit £300 second-hand recliner and pulled them too. While doing this, I spotted I’d not got the alarm wristlet on – hobbled to the Wetroom where I found it on top of the porcelain, put it on and returned to the £300 second-hand recliner, and sat down without any hiatus, as it was now refusing to operate at all.

Then the nerves started, ‘Had I turned off the taps, locked the door, left the oven on, closed the kitchen window,  left the heater on in the wetroom?’

Got out of the now dormant £300 second-hand recliner yet again and checked around, all seemed okay, so back to the £300 second-hand recliner and found it working? Okay, it shook and whined a little, eventually, I settled again.

I started to watch the DVD and got through it without any nod-offs!

Had to dismount the £300 second-hand recliner in request intimated from the body for a WRHD session. (Tsk, no rest is there! Hehe!) I put down the extra WRHDs to the bug I’d caught.

The TV programmes I watched, after the DVD, were scattered with the nod-off moments.

Woke from a long doze around 0200hrs, coughing. Another trip to the porcelain was needed, this time, the £300 second-hand recliner worked seamlessly?

I’d been dreaming about high cliffs and trying to jump off but couldn’t get down, repeated efforts, nets would appear and catch me, giant birds scooped me up and replaced me the top again, as I tried again I’d find myself in a bath full of bubbles, got sucked down the drain and fell back at the head of the cliff again? There were so many other failed attempts and reasons for failure I’m sure, but of course, I cannot recall the others?

I sprang awake at 0415hrs or so, again in need of a WRHD session.

Inchcock Today Wed 3 Aug 2016: Busy day for Inchcock

10d3

Wednesday 3rd August 2016

0425hrs: Stirred into life, desperately trying to recall the dreams I’d been having. Really annoying that I couldn’t, just senses and bits of them. They were from my younger years I think.

That half a Senna tablet I took last night, had done the job partially, and the urge for a WWHD was soon received from my innards – the first job required, getting out of the £300 second-hand recliner chair took a while and some ingenuity on my behalf; It had stuck half way up/down. Extracting myself without any harm to the chair or myself was not easy, but I managed it. By then the urgency was far greater, a painful rapid as possible hobble and a stubbed toe later, I was on the throne! Push, pain, massive plonk! Phew! And, no bleeding!

10d3aThe new scales had apparently stuck at 14st 4lb from yesterday – they’re broken I tell yer… Hehe!

To the kitchen, the kettle on I cleaned the stuff I’d left soaking in the sink last night. Applied some antiseptic cream to the scolded finger.

Put the washing stuff in the cupboard (Well, the cleaners are coming today – hehe!)

Outside, the drizzling might have encouraged me back for another WRWW?

Laptop on to update the diaries then took the medications and a mega-dizzy hit me. I nearly fell off the chair. Frit me that one did… but okay after ten minutes and then back on with the WordpPressing.

Another WRWW.

ElePosted off the diary for Tuesday and did some graphicalisationing, and started this one off.

Many hours and WRWW trips later, I stopped and thought about getting my ablutions done – went to check if any mail had arrived and clonk!

I caught the shower power switch on the wall… Again!

Got in the wetroom and started shaving and the doorbell rang! I’d got the timing wrongs for the girls to arrive for titivating the flat. The two gals came in and made a start while I finished me shave and shower.

GCk1Maggie and Lynn joined Shakita and Cheryl a few minutes later, and they got fitting the curtain rail for me.

Tomorrow, they will be bringing the curtains and fitting them too and as well!

They got on with it and soon had the rail up and ready.

GCkMeanwhile, Shakita got on and did the kitchen including the windows.

No surfaces done, cause the time ran out, but the windows looked rather professionally done to my mind.

Shakita got on with the wetroom for me, then the pair of them did the hoovering and dusting in the front room.

We managed a little nattering session while they do so.

t0002

I might have the names mixed up – Tsk!

They collected the drawer cabinet to take away for me. And, off they went, not before I took a photo of them all, to make a poster for them when they had left.

I can show it and email it to them if they like tomorrow when then Lynn and Maggie return to fit the curtains for me.

The carrots and peas – had a little Whoopsiedangleplop earlier. I had the brainwave of adding a half a spoon of mint sauce to them in the Crock-Pot… Ahem, I tapped the open jar and ‘Plop’, the whole lot went in! Watered it down.

Then I got the chops in the oven and updated this to here. I’ll see if it is eatable now…

P1110490Carried on lap topping and it was soon ready. The veg seemed none the worse or the dropping into the Crock-Pot of the jar of mint sauce.

The little lamb chops were delicious, absolutely divine!

Went round to see Olive. She’d had a bad day with her hip pains, so I stayed a while having a chinwag and tried to cheer her up a bit. I had to leave, due to the demand for the throne, Olive understood, bless her.

Back to the flat, WRHD (No blood) and I almost collapsed afterwards, sudden weariness again. All I did (Between the many WRWW’s) was try to watch the TV. During which, I got seven calls on the landline, each time it stopped before I could get out of the £300 second-hand recliner chair and to it, I moved the phone nearer the chair and caught the next one – but was none the wiser as to who called, as it was a recorded message, something like “____ SLS message, ________ ____ __ ____ ___ to accept ___ _____ ___” No idea, so I hung up and got no more calls?

Sleep was late coming.

A Busy day indeed.

Inchcock Today Wed 6th July 16: Kitchen Whoopsiedangleplop – then Dizzies, Humph!

IBAFOL4a

Wednesday 6th July 2016

Stirred to life, of sorts, at 0600hrs. Memories of the dreams lingered a bit this time. Usual theme, me being chased on and over rooftops, up mountains, falling into a canal this time, near a lock with soap suds on top smelling like TCP? Surprisingly, I could swim in this dream, as in true life I’m scared stiff of deep water? There was a lot more detail that I lost before I could get out of the £300 second-hand stuck half up and half down not working recliner chair to write them down… Tsk!

The first of many wee-wee’s followed, WCHD job, bit of blood from the rear end but not much. I found I’d left the heater on in the wet-room from the showering yesterday… huh, that’ll please the the bank manager no end!

To the kitchen to make a cuppa and take the medications. Of deary me indeed: Whoopsiedangleplop! The stack of storage draws had collapsed, some split open and there was a hell of mess to sort out from the contents that had spilled out, bent lids, sprays, cleaners, rags, bags etc. All lying in an untidy heap spread on the floor and laying in the spilt liquids, disinfectant, soda, washing up liquid etc! It must have made a right noise when it collapsed. Took me ages to sort it all out temporarily at  least. New storage box’s needed again now – I’m not going to get the same ones as these again though! Feeling a bit low now!

Had a job to find the hearing aids though, last night I’d detached the tubing and left it in soak to free the wax in them and I thought I’d left the main bits in the usual (That Auntie Kath left me) porcelain pot, but no. Found them in the kitchen on the counter, I reckoned the falling stuff from the five collapsed John Lewis storage draws and contents, must have knocked them to the back of the counter? Then I had to search all through the contents of the collapsed boxes to find the hearing aid batteries!

The falling mass of plastic, cleaners and medical accoutrements must have made a terrible noise, not that I heard anything like, hope it didn’t bother my neighbours? Wonder when it happened?

Even more depressed now.

10eGot the laptop on to start this post off.

The fingers were giving me some hassle and sticking occasionally.

Couldn’t spend too long a time on it, as I want to get to the shops using the first L9 bus (0930hrs) so I can have time to visit Olive when I get back, before she is picked up and taken for her meal by her son and daughter.

0815hrs: Saved the work and closed the laptop, then got in the wet-room to do my ablutions… remembering just before I did, that I’d not taken me medications with all the kerfuffle with the Whoopsiedangleplop, so I did.

Soon sorted, although I did manage a couple of nicks with the razor in my rush, that took a while to stop bleeding.

I set out, taking the  rubbish bags to the chute on the way down. Not in the best of spirits. Humph!

Caught the bus to town to the terminus on Queen Street and down to the City Centre. Walked down into the slab square and caught a tram to Hucknall and the Tesco store. Off the tram and walked through the Park & Ride, over the road and  into the store.

I had a good wander around, nosing out any new products, getting stuff I didn’t mean to and forgetting the stuff that was on the shopping list I’d made, that was still back at the flat where I left it. Huh! I did get some English vine tomatoes, half red-half yellow to try, some cooked meats of various types, bread, naughty snacks, french toast, Marmite crackers, chicken thighs, a jar of sweet & sour sauce, a turnip, tomato puree, cooked pork chunks, honey roast lamb slices and a packet of Fresh Cream Horns jumped into the trolley… I also got a packet of jam doughnuts for the Winwood Tenants Social Hour tomorrow.

Paid the lady on the check-out, and then the fun started… I’d rather overdone the shopping again and carrying the heavy two bags of the fodder back on the Tram and then bus caused me bother.

10gBack to the tram station and caught it back into Nottingham. This proved to be a  hassle filled journey.

When the tram started off, it had few passengers and things were okay – then as it filled with Nottinghamians en route, I found myself squashed against the window with the bags on the floor by a rather sweet smelling large lady. It filled up even more and I moved one bag onto my knees to make room for the incoming masses. I don’t know how the tram moved with all the folks on it – I realised I’d have a job to get off with the bags and get through all the standing passengers in time to get to the door for  the bus-stop I needed.

10hAs we went through the Radford area I managed to take a photograph of the open market there.

I think the changeable weather had confused us poor Nottinghamians somewhat, everyone was either well wrapped up or in summer wear?

We went on and as the tram neared the Theatre Royal stop that I required to get off at, I felt a right fool trying to manoeuvre myself with the bags to the door. As I got up I had a bad dizzy-spell. The large lady next to me, who was getting off at the same stop, immediately informed me I had ‘Gone all white’ and grabbed the heaviest bag and carried it off the bus for me. The lady who was sat opposite me held my arm as we got off. I did feel a fool! So kind of 10j 10kthem, one asked if I wanted an ambulance calling? I thanked them and red facedly sorted the bags to a more even weight distribution and made my way to the Queen Street L9 bus-stop.

The police were there collecting some Nottingham shop-lifters at the bottom of the street. I felt much better physically and all signs of the dizzy-spell had gone. I took what I hoped would be an atmospheric photographicalistion of the Council House.

I still felt thankful for the ladies help on the tram, but rather embarrassed, mortified and humiliated over the incident. Decided I had to inform the Doctor on my next visit. (This is due this Friday 0830hrs, must remember to take urine sample and not eat  anything tonight after 2200hrs before the CDH test with the nurse at the surgery.)

10eThe last L9 bus had long departed, so I caught a 40 one, that drops me off on Sherwood Vale Hill.

Always a bit nervous when I use this bus, because crossing the road after dropping off is a nightmare when you can’t move as fast as you would like to, to avoid the speeding cars coming up or down the hill around the sharp bends in each direction.

Still, it’s not to far to walk.

Although on this occasion I was a little bit worried about another dizzy coming on I must admit.

In the flat, feet, legs and arms aching, I had along wee-wee and used the throne first thing. Put the fodder away.

10lToo tired and weary for some reason to do any laptop work, I got some small potatoes in the oven and made two honey roast ham sandwiches.

Sliced some of the expensive but deliciously sweet tomatoes, added some sliced onions carrots to the plate.

When the potatoes were cooked I added them and had a very nice meal indeed. A worthy 8.9/10 despite my feeling a little under the weather.

I became suddenly apathetically languid, morose, lethargic and listless. It was made worse after I’d watched the Portugal v Wales game. Humph!

No more dizzies, but I didn’t feel so good.

Hey-ho! TTFN

Inchcock Today Sat 14 May 16: Whoopsiedngleplop – Lost the Emergency Wrist Alarm… Humpf!

02

Saturday 14th May 2016

It’s hard to express the feelings I felt when I woke up this morning (0500hrs): Sullied, soiled, contaminated, begrimed and unchaste all seemed to fit the bill, along with the primary sensations of trepidation and unshakable anxiety. Why?

However, I forced myself to lower the shuddering recliner chair and attend the porcelain after a couple of minutes of deep and pitifully inadequate philosophicalisationing. The hiatus of making use of the throne prompted me to take an EntroLax pill along with the cuppa and medications I took shortly afterwards. Had a bit of a job stopping the blood flowing (Another pair of jammy-bottoms for the wash), from Little Inchy and Haem Aroids. However, Anne Gyna, Rea Flux and the right wrist and arm were being kind to me, so this cheered me up a minuscule I think.

While making the brew, bits, or rather sensations, about the dreams returned to me, they were not nice and I think shame was the overriding feeling?

Overall, I was not in a good condition mentally. Then, the flaming dizzies started, Tsk! Still, they didn’t last for too long. Then, more hassle, clearing the pots I’d left drying on the sink drainer, I dropped a cup, well, mug and now have only one unchipped mug left! Hehe! I’ll have to get another one later when I go to take the clothes and stuff to the Nottingham Hospice Shop. Hey-ho!

On the laptop and finished off the Friday diary and started this one off, did some graphics. Then did mucho Facebooking and it let me post okay this time. Some lovely messages and comments today.

Got the bags ready for the Hospice shop. Had a spit and polish, made sure I’d got the camera, mobile phone (Not that anyone rings me like, but I might have needed it for calling for help?). The hearing aids in, the little notepad of reminders, etc. and then did my ablutions and set off on me mini circular walk to the shops and back.

01According to the NCC, Winchester Street has the second highest road gradient in Nottingham, and I certainly believed them when I walked back up to the flats today.

Good job I didn’t have a lot of weight to lug up it. But I do consider, although apparently I can’t run anymore, that little struggle to get up the 1-3 gradient stretch actually does me some good, and try to tackle it at least once a week?

Setting off out of the building and up the gravel footpath and halfway up I 04stopped, not through fatigue but to photograph a brave little flower forcing its way through to search for the sunshine.

I observed that the insects in and amongst the grass were beginning to move frantically about for some reason?

Up into the Woodthorpe Park and down onto Mansfield Road. Stopped again for a while, to watch the dogs taking their owners for a game of ball. Plenty of canines around and not one barking?

Walked down the hill into Sherwood and called to drop off the items at the Hospice Shop.

Then down further to the Wilko store, where I had a good rummage for some teacups, well, mugs anyway. I got three of different sizes. The offer on the Dettol had finished, but they had one on Blitz towels twin pack at £1.79, so I grabbed one.

Next port of call a visit to the Polish Continental shop. I got a loaf of bread and four thick slices of smoked belly pork with garlic stuffing and peppers. (I can’t help it, it’s delicious!)

Set off for Winchester Street and up the hill of doom… Today the weeds and plants were forcing their way through the fences and railing.

05 08

07The Dogwood weed, I think it is called was looking so radiant and proud as its white flowers bloomed.

My being a Towny for so many years, now I’m almost settled at Woodthorpe Court in the semi-countryside, I have the pleasure of discovering these plants and weeds.

The way they force their way through obstacles never ceases to amaze me.

Also seeing how the young shoots (If that’s the right word) seem to copy their elders and come through the fence panels alongside them as in the last picture above intrigues me.

I pressed on up and back to the apartments, feeling a bit tired and weary but proud of forcing myself to have a bit of an extra exercise.

Visited the WC. Then put away the purchases.

10  09

I couldn’t help but think to myself; “How long before I drop one of the mugs?

Ah well, I can have two visitors at once now and give them both a nice strong cuppa. Hehe!

Got the laptop on and updated this diary.

0205Then got the medication pots sorted.

This took over an hour and many dropped tablets and pills encouraged naughty words to emanate from my mouth I’m afraid.

To the throne and much bleeding and pain resulted, but at least I was going again, so no complaints.

04I got the cold meal prepared and very tasty it was too. All good, bread nice, mushrooms okay, pickled eggs, tomatoes and the belly pork was so appetisingly tangy flavoured.

Took the medications.

While eating it, I realised I’d not got the Alert Wrist Alarm on and I went to the bathroom to fetch it… Oh dear! Spent hours looking for it without any success. This really got me going and so annoyed with myself. It had to be a Saturday when I lose it as well, no one to report it to until Monday.

The recliner stuck and I thought “Hello, that’s the end of this then!” But it started going again, this was repeated a few more times over the night.

Losing the alarm really got me going and so annoyed with myself. It had to be a Saturday when I lose it as well, no one to report it to until Monday. And then, only if the were not ‘doing’ another complex.

I tried to watch a Jonathan Creek DVD, but kept getting thoughts of where the Alert Alarm might be and kept getting up to search: During these numerous independent searches I went through the laundry bag again, bathroom nooks, all the clothes pockets hanging in the hallway, kitchen drawers and bins, looked under all the furniture, shelves and drawers in the front room, checked all the shopping bags, all without luck or resolution.

Washed the pots up, (and even checked in all the saucepans for the alarm) and another call to the Throne came, even worse this one, Little Inchy joined in with Haem Aroids bleeding this time!

Getting myself a bit het up by now, and felt a bit down.Kept waking up throughout the night, and on some occasions, I went searching for the Wrist Alarm – why I don’t know, cause I only looked in places I’d already search, some more than twice. The recliner was shuddering a bit each time I lowered it to get up, this added to my frustrations and embarrassment.

I think I was awake more often than asleep, fretting away. Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Fri 25 March: Dizzies

GC (6)

* * * * *

Friday 25 March 2016

Sprung awake from the dream filled sleep around 0340hrs. Horrendous dreams too. No specifics remembered by the time I got around to writing this record of the Inchcock, Nottingham Lads diary, though, just bits: I was all alone and searching for someone… Writing emails on a giant computer, Desert, Iceland, in outer space, down caves, in hospitals, digging up coffins? Felt uncomfortable and uneasy when I sat there thinking of this and looking out through the window, at the dark single starred sky. I soon came out of my stargazing when I stood up, pleased with the lack of objections from Arthur Itis and trod on mineral water plastic bottle I’d used last night to take me medication with, and fell backwards into the chair again, with a thud.

A nice bruise came up at the back of both fibulas within seconds, accompanied by dull aches. Hey-ho, best get the Whoopsiedangleplops out of the way early in the day, I must say. Hehe!

For some reason, this took my mind back to many years ago when I was in the Life Boys and I recalled taking first aid lessons from a Boys Brigade leader who read everything out of a book and could not pronounce Fibula when he read it, it came out as Fibberer. Funny how things spring to mind after so many eons. Haha!

I limped to the porcelain, and struggled painfully, and at great length to perform the required functions (But no bleeding, that was good). Into the kitchen, put the kettle on and added a senna tablet to the mornings medications.

P1050926Into the kitchen, put the kettle on and added a senna tablet to the mornings medications, made a brew and took them.

Pondering in whether I should go to Asda (Walmart) and get the photographs from yesterday’s Social Hour printed off or not, I couldn’t make up my mind – another of those days? Huh!

Got the laptop on to update Thursday’s diary, and start this one off. Checked the emails. Got one from Sister Jane, I can’t go to see them today, they are off for a meal and show later. Jealous me?

Answered the emails and did a bit of Facebooking.

Then decided I would have a walk into Arnold today to get the photographs printed for the Tenants Meeting next Thursday while I could, a busy week medically speaking. Might get to batch bread, desserts and beef chips too.

P1050930Got the things ready and had a bath and scrub-up. Drying off, I spotted some bruises on the rib-cage.

I’ve no idea how they came about! Something else for me to remember for when I see Dr. Vindla next.

Scrap to the chute and out to the Community Hut – no one there and I remembered it was Good Friday, Tsk!

Had a good laugh with some residents at the bus-stop and they all got on the L8, I waited for the L9 that would take me into Arnold.

I was wondering what else I would forget today as I approached the Post Office in Arnold to get the letter weighed and paid for – Huh! Still Good Friday isn’t it? They were closed of course!

I met a fellow tenant (Frank) as I walked towards the Fulton Food Store. Had a gossip with him. He warned me of the weather forecast for the weekend – High winds and rain! OH heck!

I moved on and spent too much again, it’s because they have such good prices yer know? Got two packets on Gammon steaks for a quid each, a box of two lamb shanks and some cheap Chocolate Easter bunnies to give out as nibbles.

P1050931Moved up to Asda and went to the photograph section. Started going through the process on the copier machine, but an assistant had to come to clarify things for me. I still managed to get them with borders on and in a larger size than I wanted. Humph! Still all 14 cost only £5.60. I paid the lady, got my receipt and did some shopping – spending far too much again! Grumph!

11 pots of various desserts, two small packs of Irish Batch bread, some beef flavoured potato sticks and was soon out in the sunshine.

P1050932It was not very warm it, though, despite the glorious looking sunshine and almost free of clouds sky.

I hobbled around for a while then made my way to the catch the L9 bus back to the flats.

As I approached the shelter, I observed that the dilapidated old bench seat had lost another slat from the P1050933seating on it.

The mould growth on the wood had increased since my visit last week, and particular aroma, not unlike stale mackerel had developed?

A bit further on after I’d arrived at the bus-shelter a lady tenant came to catch the same bus.

P1050919It was the lady who was giving me the threatening dagger looks at the Social Hour yesterday as I took the photographs.

I smiled and asked if she was alright and had gotten everything she needed. It was reassuring when she told me she’s also forgotten in was a Bank Holiday and had called at her bank to find it closed. She added a warning P1050935about the coming gales and heavy rain.

Yet it looked so beautiful at that moment.

We got on the bus and she made a point of not sitting near me and offering a few of her Ena Sharples scowls en route back to Woodthorpe Court.

Scared? Me?

P1050934On the way, I took a photographicalisation of some terrace houses on the Main Road in Arnold, through the bus window.

I thought they might look quaint to the TFZers from America, Canada and Australia, so I’ll post it for them on their Facebook page later.

I think they were built for the miners originally.

01W03Now there’s a sad thing: The last deep mine in the UK has recently closed!

Britains Last Deep Coal Mine closes

I got back to the flats and made my way to the porcelain, as I did I discerned that I had no Dizzies while I was out at all! Made a cuppa.

Put away the purchases, and got the laptop on to update this. Then checked the email situation.

Got the gammon steaks in the oven and chopped tomatoes in the saucepan. Polish country bread at the ready.

P1050936Finished off and posted Thursdays Inchcock Today off.

I had a pot of lemon dessert and a strawberry cheesecake for afters.

Got a Dr. Who DVD in and settled for a marathon viewing session.

I was asleep after the first episode, waking up during the third episode. To the toilet, back and rewound the DVD.

Woke up o episode three gain, and gave up. Got my head down.

Woke three hours later near midnight, the itching all around my ample midriff again driving me potty.

Tsk!

Inchcock Today Tue 1 Dec 15: Damned Dizzies!

Tuesday 1st December 2015

Woke at 0415 hrs in need of the WC, Little Inchy painful and belting out blood and needed a lot of attention to stop it this morning.

Horrible night again, spent more of it awake than kipping. Tsk!

P1020553Laptop on and finished the Monday diary.

Took me medications.

Regular visitations to the bathroom throughout the morning.

Had another dizzy spell and decided to email the GP for an appointment to tell her about these returning.

The Morrisons order arrived, got the frozen in the freezer but ended up with too much to get into it – left the others in the bags in the Hallway.

Got me laundry ready and took it down and got it in a machine. Expecting the Iceland order too later, so stayed downstairs outside the laundry room so i could see him arriving. Took me bottles to the bank down the road.

P1020554Ask a lady arriving to do her washing if she wanted me chips and ice-cream I couldn’t get in the freezer. Went up and fetched it for her – she had taken out me washing from the drier for me and I’d left me bag upstairs so fetched it. Good job the lifts were working today.

A bloke arrived wanting use both washing machines, me first enemy made at the flats when I said he was not supposed to use both at once.

P1020555The Iceland man cometh and delivered.

The lady told me to take me chips to the lady in flat 52 on the ninth floor, so I did.

Then got me nosh on and put away me clobber, and stored the fodder.

Laptop on to update this.

P1020556Got me nosh, and what a nosh too!

3 Potato pancakes (Two inside cheese cobs), sticky chicken on sticks thingies, chicken nuggets, carrots, peas, sweet potato chips and tomatoes.

Ate the lot of it!

Checked on email to see if I’d had any reply from the  doctors but no.

P1020558Tired to renovate the plaque I’d brought with me from the old place. A mate who I worked with when he had freshly arrived from Kingston, went home on a visit and brought me this back as a thank you.

I nicknamed him Tony and he stuck with it. I wonder where he is now?

Had another dizzy.

Sister Jane rang on the land-line. I can go visit them in the morning but I must get there before 1100hrs. So I got the bag ready with the nibbles and treats, made sure me bus-pass was in me pocket – oh, and while doing this I found the Co-op card I’d lost. It was in me new sleeveless jacket pocket. Huh!

Little Inchy had been bleeding again.

Sat down after cleaning up from the nosh preperationing and put the TV on – surprised that there was much on that I fancied looking at… fell asleep…

Inchcock Today Mon 30 Nov 15: Wet rain, GP, Clinic, Dizzy spells and bleeding… Tsk!

Monday 30th November 2015

Woke at 0345 hrs in need of the WC, Little Inchy not bleeding so bad this morning. Horrible night spent more of it awake than kipping. Tsk!

The rain had stopped at last, and the temperature was 55ºf.

Made a cuppa and took me medications, stomach rumbling again, but I put that down to me nibbling all day yesterday and not having a nosh.

Put me INR dosage card in me coat pocket so as not to forget it later when I go for me Warfarin level blood test.

Put me Lumix camera on charge, then took me morning medications, put me midday ones in me bag.

01W01Misty and raining heavily now – and I’ve got to walk to the GP surgery later, then go to the clinic to have me bumps and lumps checked.

Still, despite every thing I found missen singing again in the bath… Adam Faith and Billy Fury songs mostly, with the odd Rick Nelson and Nat King Cole thrown in.

Two nosh deliveries coming today. Morrison’s any-time now, then Asda tonight.

FooeyGot an email from Sister Jane in reply to mine, Fooey is not doing very well and she is expecting the worst. Poor old Fooey, made me so sad. I asked if I could go up to see them, no reply yet.

Made a start on the laptop and finished yesterdays diary off. Emails, messages and started this one-off.

No Morrison’s by 0845 hrs so I looked at me diary. It’s tomorrow when it comes not today. Tsk!

Out and caught the L8 bus into Sherwood as it was still belting down with rain and a bit windy with it. Dropped of at the bottom of the hill and walked up Mansfield Road and down into Carrington to the GP surgery.

The Obergrupperführer nurse was on duty today. But she doesn’t scare me like… WPlie

Had me test done and left feeling guilty after receiving a telling off about me weight, eating Brassica and going out in the rain?

Out and over the road and caught bus to the clinic (Well soaked again) – in and out in minutes today. Two doctors were off sick and I got another appointment.

P1020547Caught the bus into Mansfield just for the sake of it. Got some of me crossword book done e route.

Rained all the way and got even heavier when I got into Mansfield bus station.

Through the puddles under the subway and out into the shopping centre.

So many leaks coming from the roof I dare not get me camera out in the subway.

Called into B&Q to see if they had any bargains but no such luck, then I wandered up to another store and got some bread and tinned green beans.

P1020548Came out and took this rather sad photograph with the rain, closed down premises and lack of shoppers in the Mansfield City Centre.

Had a whopping dizzy spell as I went down the steps onto the road.

Stood around holding onto the railings for what seemed like ages for it to abate, probably only a few minutes though. Decided to make me way back to Sherwood and the flat.

Walking to the bus-station in the rain is a blank in me memory?

Got the bus (Bless me free pensioners bus-pass) and felt a lot better.

P1020546Dropped off in Sherwood and an L8 came within minutes and lifted me up the hill to the flats.

Got in and WC’d (Relief!), hung me clobber up to dry out.

Made a cuppa and took me midday medications a little late but still.

The Asda delivery arrived with the usual substitutions on it.

P1020549Got me nosh ready, put me potatoes to bake in the oven, gave the 40 minutes then added the Cottage pie with sweet potatoes for 20 minutes, then popped me last Frikadellen in the oven with the others for ten minutes. The sweet potato-shepherds pie could have done with a bit more time, but I was so hungry I ate everything anyway. Added me carrots and peas from the saucepan, buttered, salted and peppered the baked spuds, added a sprinkling of vinegar and had a lemon yoghurt afterwards.

Drifted off to kip – woke up needing the WC urgently and had another dizzy.

Not a bad one, but it bothered me a bit having two so close together, not normal that.

Washed the pots up and titivated the kitchen but still felt tired, sat down to watch the TV and did so… in between dozens of dozing offs! No idea what I watched now, or rather tried to watch.

Kept waking up distorted and aching in places I didn’t know I had? Hehe!

Inchcock Today: Fri 9 Oct 15 – Memory Test Today – Steve coming from Age UK – Wilko Whoopsiedangleplop!

Friday 9th October 2015

Up at 0455hrs. WC’d – Little Inchy bleeding badly, took ages to get it to stop this morning. Bloodied me new pyjama bottoms too – Huh!

Cuppa and took me medications and finished yesterdays diary and started this one off.

P1020250Falling off to sleep last night I didn’t post me nosh. So here it is: A salad of such a size I could only eat part of it – definitely a case of me eyes being bigger than me stomach! Hehe!

Red peppers, mushrooms in oil, pork pat’e, pork & pickle pies, pickled egg, mixed leaves, beetroot, bacon…

The large slice of the lemon curd Swiss roll got eaten though. Rated this dollop as 9.2/10.

Checked me emails and replied to em.

Got me Memory test today at noon at the GP surgery.

Steve from Age UK calling later to tell me about how things went with the £850 house clearance man, and the next stage in getting the old house sold. It seems to me I was young and had hair when Steve first told me: “No problem, we’ll soon have this house sold!” Almost 6 months have passed since he uttered those first encouraging words to me… Gobbleblottingcrap!

Still, he’s a nice laid-back bloke. Gave him a tin of Cadburys Celebration chocolates for Christmas yesterday… thought it might encourage him to get a move on…?

I get visions of his chasing after the hearse with me in it on the way to the cremated, shouting out “It’s sold… the house has gone…” Hehe, might as well laugh it’ll probably happen!

01topj4One of the new can openers fell to pieces as I was opening a tin of beans to marinate wiv me special seasonings. Gave up.

That’s the forth one since I’ve been here in this flat! No wonder I buy two at a time!

I seem to remember as a kid using one like this one in the photo. And it lasted for donkeys years!

I’m moaning again ain’t I?… Tsk!

P1020251Had a bath and shave and set off on me walk to the doctor’s surgery.

At the end of Chestnut walk as I turned right down Winchester Street. I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of the trees changing colour and took a photo of one. Absolutely beautiful!

P1020252Towards the bottom of the road was something, looked like paint to me, had decorated it and the vehicles had made the spillage whatever it was into Art-Deco street art!

It doesn’t show up well on the first P1020253photo I took of it.

At the junction a klaxon-blaring paramedic car went through towards the City Centre and I noticed whatever it was got sprayed by the tyres as the emergency vehicle belted passed.

P1020254When the traffic eased when the lights changed I took another photo.

It looked to me like a vehicle turning right had spilt the stuff when it was hit from behind.

I plodded on up the hill to the Sherringham Park practice.

Got in and booked missen in, checked with the receptionist about the time of me INR blood test on Monday are, and when me next monthly prescriptions will be ready.

The nurse called me in for the Memory Test.

She asked me what day it was, what the date was, then told me name address and colour to remember. Asked me to name the months backwards, then asked me what the name address and colour. I got the town wrong.

She left the room and returned, said they were going to send me to see some people for further tests, one at the City Hospital, one at the Queens and i was not to worry about seeing… not sure if she said Psychologist or Psychiatrist now.

she was her usual friendly self and said she was certain that when I got rid of the house worries and it was sold and done with, things would improve for me on their (Or should that be there?) own.

I gave her some nibbles and shot off to get the bus into town, to try to get some coasters that would fit under the chair legs to stop the carpet getting misshapen and torn.

P1020256Got in town and boy it was busy!

Went in Wilkinson’s store and asked a member of staff if they sold owt that would protect me carpet from the wooden chair legs.

The young man walked me (I struggled to keep up with me though) to the shelves where they were.

I pondered over them and bought some I thought might do the job. Glides they were called. Also got some Velcro-squares that could be useful, and some stick on little clear hooks to hang me stuff on the wall in the kitchen. Good job Duncan is visiting me tomorrow to help out bless him.

P1020255Had a walk around town for a while and the place was even busier than it was when I arrived.

Walked to the bus-stop and waited for the L9 bus to arrive.

There was a carer with a chap in the queue and the poor man was looking a tad threatening as he kept leering at folk who passed and was leaning in their direction. But it was obvious he was in some way handicapped. I said Good morning to him and he tried his best to hold a conversation. I think the carer was surprised when I tried to speak with the chap and I purposely did a lot of smiled in his direction. Poor bloke.

I said Cheerio to the man when they got off the bus, and the smile on his face made me feel so proud. Bet I meet him again… I hope.

Struggled to stay awake on the bus again.

Got back to the flat and put down the times of the appointments on e Google diary while I thought about it.

The gliders were too large for the chair legs and keep coming of each time I move or adjust the chair! Tsk! I tried me bestest.

I ordered some stuff from Wilko on the net, hopefully the last I’ll need. Spent another fortune. I paid for a Premier delivery not knowing what this was. When I got the email confirming the order, but didn’t know still when the order would be delivered as it said: Premier delivery the next working day! Was the next working day a Saturday or Monday? Bad news if it’s a Monday cause I’ve got two medical appointment then. oh dear!

02

Moments before it all collapsed! Tsk!

Steve from Age UK arrived. He tackled the problem with the delivery an sent then an email.

The told me the house was now all cleared. Told me next week he will talk to the building society about getting the house on the market.

Still going at a snail’s pace to me – but he thought we’d done well getting this far? Nice chap, good bloke Steve really.

He looked at the temporary curtaining I’d put up – and it collapsed! Ah well, it gave him a laugh. Hehe! He then good-naturedly let me take his photo and posed for it like King Neptune!

He also took some photo’s of me that I could doctor and use later on the web bless his cotton socks.

He then had a look at and worked how me Hoover works for me. At last I can use it! Hooray!

After Steve had left – I got an email from Wilko – All it did as confirm they had received it and it would be studied and read with 72 hours! Gordon Bennett I still don’t know when the delivery is coming now! Shit!

He also looked at the TV remote to work out why I kept getting blank screens and the set jumps into different modes – he gave up as well, just like I did.

IMG_0001Got me nosh made for later – and further Whoopsiedangleplops on the Wilko order developed…

A lady rang to tell me they were delivering on Monday – I struggled to get all she as saying at first but I asked her to speak slower and it all then okay. She changed the delivery day to Tuesday between 0800 > 1800hrs. I explained about the need for them to press 72 on the panel in the reception for me to let them in, and using the lift to the 12th floor… where she stopped me to check on the insurance for the deliver couriers and see if they can come up 12 floors? Good this innit? Keep up… Then she returned to tell me it is up to the couriers if he delivers up the lift or not – if I come down to meet him, he can tell me if he’s prepared to go up the lift or not!!!!

01topj5

So, after doing the order, and 30 minutes on the phone with the nice lady, my effort to spend £100 plus £8 delivery charge with Wilko, it seems I have to wait 4 days to find out if I’m actually going to get the delivery or not… Amazing!

I will not either way be tempted to spend any-more with them I can assure you! That’s if I manage to this time of course!

Pissed off nicely I had me nosh and felt rather down.

Huh & Tsk!

Sat 22 Aug 15: Inchcock Today: Still up to the neck in jobs that need doing… Tsk!

Saturday 22nd August 2015

0530hrs: Sprang awake after a long sleep for me, I reckon I got 7 hours in – I can’t remember any dreams but I’m sure I had them?

First thought was to message Lyzzi in America to thank her for me box of pressies.

Me back still twinging away at me, the angina playing up, bleeding ‘Little inch’, bleeding haemorrhoids, stomach rumbling, emissions of wind from the anus were mega-rotten smelling and too frequent for my liking or comfort, the reflux valve was popping in and out, the sin-cancer wound was tingling and itching, I got a cuppa and took me medications. Still, yer don’t like to moan do yer?

I got a message to Lyzzi to thank her for the things she’s sent.

Did some Facebooking – dizzy spells while doing this?

Remembered the Morrison’s order coming, so got missen washed shaved and changed – running low on clean clothes now, being so busy like – must try to get some done later.

Checked me emails and did some FAcebooking while waiting for the Morrison’s delivery.

The nosh arrived and I once more have a crammed full fridge, food cupboards and freezer.

Felt a bit better now, apart from the knees and dizzies the other ailments gave ne a rest.

Got togs ready, me book and crossword book and went down to the laundry room and a machine was free, so got it in quick and settled to read me book. Then realised I had not put the soap powder in – Huh! – put it in late and hoped for the best.

One or two of the other residents came down to have their hair done in the next room, at the hairdressers (Seemed sensible to me) and I managed to get a little natter or two in.

IMG_0095When the washing was done, I moved it into the drier and nipped out for a walk though Woodthorpe Park to the Co-op store and got a Beetroot and Apple loaf. Naughty but nice.

Hobbled back, the weather was as perfect as it could be, not too hot or cols, low wind, very nice.

A lady asked me for  instructions on how to get to Edwards Lane from the Park – I could tell she wanted me body by the way she said Thank you and take are. FibMode Hehehe!

Struggled a little bit on the way back with me knees, but not complaining at all. No dizzies lately that’s good.

Got in and checked the drier then had another chin-wag with a lady waiting to have her hair done. She warned me the heavy rain had been forecast for tonight and tomorrow – that’s bad, cause Duncan is driving from Birmingham tomorrow – I’l email him tellingh im I’ll understand if he dosen’t come with the weather like.

Read me book a while then went in to take me togs out. They seemed clean.

IMG_0096Back up to the flat, put we things away and the bread in the kitchen ready for later – I’ve decided to have just the bread with butter on it, thickly spread, with maybe a few mini sausages on the side… and some sauce of course. I’ll try the Value Tomato Ketchup bottle I got from Morrison’s methinks.

Set about updating this diary and when I went to make another cuppa a dizzy visited again, but only for a few seconds this time, and no bother.

Started to feel a bit tired early again. Emailed Dunc.

Took a while to get to sleep – but after starting to read me new Clarkson book I managed to get off to kip.

Thu 20 Aug 2015: Inchcock Today – Mega Whoopsiedangleplop!

Thursday 20th August 2015

IMG_0086

This morning before me mega “Whoopsiedangleplop”

0330hrs: Woke in s sweat and panicky – memories of the dreams dissipated as soon as I thought of them.

Morrison’s delivery this morning.

Made cuppa, laptop on started this diary off. Still feeling weary from yesterdays efforts.

WC’d. ‘Little Inchy’ had been bleeding, Reflux Roy was sticking again, Arthur Itis continued his recent complaining in me knees, Harry Hernia was upset at all the bending and lifting yesterday I assume, even Duodenal David had started to give me some grief. Then I had a Donald-dizzy-spell and nearly went over – bad start to the day here methinks.

When I was doing some Facebooking I had another dizzy – but they did seem a bit different to the normal ones. Breathing a bit heavy too? I wondered if the fumes from the wood treatment bottle had got to me, but there is no warnings on the label – I know, Cause I found me magnifying glass and read the label.

Did some Facebooking and email checking, then some graphicalisationing.

Had a cuppa (Dodgy that, with having had to visit the porcelain five times already this morning) and took me medications. Oh dear.

Tried to clean between the units in the kitchen, but the pains lingering from yesterdays efforts made me stop and leave until later.

Morrison delivery came and I put it away – in its new places once I remembered where everything had been stored in. Haha!

While putting them away BJ rang – he’s back from his holiday and I’m glad to report he really enjoyed them!

He is going to take me the old place to pick some stuff up, bless him. He’ll ring me when he’s about to leave his house.

Made sure I’d got me mobile on me and camera in coat pocket.

Updated this to here, and awaited his call.

BJ rand, on his way. So I got missen ready and went down and walked to the end of the road and met him in his new pap-pap. (Well, new in as far as his old one conked-out like).

Not feeling too good still. We arrived at the dump and BJ helped me pick some stuff to take to the flat and filled his boot with it – well the car boot with it, not his boot like, any-road he was wearing shoes… Hehhehe!

I was struggling with the stairs as me left knee was really painful, and it wasn’t just Arthur Itis I could tell, it were a different pain – must have strained it or summat yesterday with all that up and down grafting away?

We returned with the many bagfuls and BJ helped me up to the flat with em. I had a dizzy in the lift as we were having a natter with to another tenant lady who lived on floor 11.

We got the stuff into the bedroom ready for sorting, but I didn’t feel up to it today.

I’d had a note from Parcel Force, they had tried to deliver the parcel they’d charged me nearly £50 in VAT and import duty for – I could collect it from Sherwood Post office after 1600hrs.

BJ went on the balcony for a fag and make a telephone call.

That was when the mega-Whoopsiedangleplop took place!

I had a dizzy-spell again just as I was bending down to move the chair – and went over in an unsightly and undignified manner onto the floor, bouncing off the chair then waste-bin en-route to the carpet!

BJ put a bandage on me bleeding right knee! That’s go well with me haemorrhoids and ‘Little Inchy’ – Phwert!

BJ shot off saying “I’ll would be back in t’morning and we can go to Ikea to see if they have anything as suitable for the bedroom instead of wardrobes.

Mad a cuppa and updated this diary, feeling better now.

Decided to walk to the Community shed with Margaret’s last batch of letters.

Has bit of dizzy as I got ready, so I took me walking stick with me – after searching for 40 minutes to find me wrist alarm – nowhere to be found!

Deana and the Obergruppenfurher were both there, I gave em some nibble, had a chin-wag and got told off for loosing me bracelet alarm.

I returned to the flat still feeling ‘Not Right’ like.

Made a cuppa and took me evening medications.

DSCF0305

Made me nosh: Boiled potatoes cubed and seasoned, last tomato, cheesey sliced potatoes, lettuce & raw cabbage and a whopping great piece of battered cod. The usual bread thins too.

I have to give this one 8.42/010, cause despite feeling rotten I still enjoyed it so much.

Managed a bath without slipping over, but it was agony gerrin in and out like.

Had a search fer the wrist-alarm without any luck – nipped back into the bathroom to clear and clean it and wallah! – There was the wrist-alarm slung over a bottle of antiseptic disinfectant!

Did an email to let Deana Walker know I’d found it – Tsk, whatever will she think of me – Tut!

Got me head down in hopes of gerrin’ some sleep and peace.

Worra-life eh? Tsk!
