Inchcock Today Friday 17th August 2018: Clexane injections, INR & CHD blood tests – a very testing day. Hehe!

5Fri001b0340hrs: I stirred into mock life, waited for the brain to catch me up, moved to get out of the £300 second-hand rickety recliner, and off into the kitchen to made a mug of tea and got the Health checks done.

As luck would have it, I remembered about the CHD test later today, and that I was fasting until then. So I had to resist drinking the tea and sadly throw it away. Sob!

I got the Enoxaparin injection done first, get it out of the way, so as to speak.

5Fri001

I noted that the Sys and Dia had gone up considerably. This may be due to me having started the Enoxaparin, now called Clexane inj on the box, last night. I’ve to go in to see Nurse Ann at the surgery later. She is fitting me in and told me yesterday I will have to be quick, she will not have much time available for talking and gossiping. Oh, dear! That was me warned!

Aug 17aOf to the wet room for a wee-wee.

The Ironclad black biting mini-beetles had been out, and about last night, the Critter Kill had nobbled a few again.

Realising I had far less time to get things done, as the appointment with the Nurse was early today. I set about finishing off yesterday’s blog and got it posted off to WordPress.

WDPBL02a Then, started this page going, sorted the two bags for the waste chute and took them depositing them in the letter-box size lid, and returning to the flat minus a layer or two of knuckle skin.

Then it was time to get the ablutions done. All finished, I a grubbling session, making as sure as I could, that I had not missed anything to take with me. Urine sample, the bus pass to get home with, hearing aids in and soon off out.

On the walk up Chestnut Way, I took these three photographicalisations.

5Fri006I called in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Stabsgefreiteress Wardens Temporary HQ, WC, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisationalistic Area, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Crockery and pottery to be stolen from, WC and residents porta-cabin. Had a talk with Warden Julie, and out to take the photograph of what I assumed, was a fruit fly on the blackberries, as limped on.

I started my walk down to the bottom of Winchester Street hill, and the now familiar hobble left, up Mansfield Road over the crest and down into Carrington and the Sherrington Park Medical Centre.

5Fri006aI let myself drift from worries and fears as I wallowed in the beauty of nature this morning. The sun was out, the wind was blowing, and somehow, everything seemed to look incredible. Planes taking holidaymakers away, or maybe bringing them back?) The insects buzzing, the birds squawking and singing… it was fine and dandy.

WDPBL02a Then I slipped of off the kerb as I went to cross the road. Klutz!

5Fri006bGoing up the hill, the customary Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist threatened as he shot by me.

The plates were stinging, but Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna, even Hippy Hilda were all being kind to me.

As I approached the surgery entrance, I mused over yesterdays farcical happenings but felt sure it could not be that bad again. Ahem!

5Fri007I got in reported to the receptionist and sat down taking out the crossword book.

Shortly after Nurse Ann arrived calling out my name. This reminded me of the TV series ‘It ain’t half hot mum’ and Winsor Davis.

I meekly followed her to the treatment room and handed her the urine sample tube. “Why have you brought this today?” Silence for two seconds, then followed with, “It’s Monday when you need to bring this for the CDH checks!” She then smiled, and said, “I’ll check to see if it will keep in the fridge, hang on, keep your finger on the cotton wool!” Ann checked something on her computer and said; Yes that will alright. A certain confusion followed.

So I do have to go back again on Monday, another mile walk to cope with. She logically pointed out, that the DVT will most likely want another INR blood sample anyway on Monday when they have analysed this sample and got your reading.

WDPBL02a I thought this week I’d called at the surgery more times than I’d gone home. Hehehe! Thanked her and went off for a hobble to the Lidl store to see if they had any more of the shortcrust biscuits yet. I was almost wailful, depressed even when I was told they are not stocking them again! I got some nibbles for the trip out tomorrow.

5Fri009I left and went to the bus stop to catch a ride back to Sherwood.

My beauty-appreciation mode took over again.

The sky was gorgeous. I stood looking up at it and got the camera out. A car alarm activated and three ankle-snapper future villains ran from between some parked cars on the side street and ran away. I’ve no idea what had occurred. But it took me away from my appreciation of nature mode!

5Fri009aI got in the bus shelter and put down the bag on the floor.

WDPBL02a I realised how pale and insipid the skin was on my hands.

I suppose it has been like that all day, but I hadn’t noticed before.

Come to think of it, if my blood INR is as low as the 1.1 which it is, means it is thicker, then it will not flow properly, I think. The extra Warfarins I had to take and the Clexane injections to thin the blood to avoid a stroke or heart attack might have had an effect on the colour, maybe, perhaps? I confused myself trying to work it out, now. Hehe!

Caught a bus, it was packed with passengers, and I had to sit next to a bloke, how could I describe him for best… Do you remember Giant Haystacks, the wrestler? Haha!

I got off of the bus a stop earlier so I could investigate if the Continental food store might have some of the shortcrust biscuits or similar on sale. They didn’t, but I got some vanilla wafer biscuits to share on the bus in the morning with the other residents going to Skegness with me. And, for myself, I found some expensive, but hopefully really-tasty lemon shortcake biscuits! I am not sure how many folks are going on the outing, I understand many of them have withdrawn from it?

I hobbled up to the bus stop and waited for the L9 bus, I would have been unable to walk back up Winchester Hill with how I was feeling, the feet mainly the problem.

WDPBL02a About eight other Winwood residents were on the bus when I got on. As we got off, I pretended to be a bus conductor and shouted out “Winwood Flats, all alight here for 5Fri010Winwood flats!” Only two of them laughed. I did feel a plonker, no idea what made me do it. Thank heavens some of those on the bus not from the flats laughed along with me.

The Willmott-Dixon lads were hard at work, along with the melee of delivery drivers, plant machinery etc. as I made my way along Chestnut Way.

5Fri011At the end of the road, a pantechnicon lorry had been forced to park in front of the garages. It must be a nightmare for drivers here.

I pressed limpingly onward, and got in the flats and to the elevator foyer, pressed the call button.

The lifts, according to the what floor the cage is on signage, were not moving anywhere?

5Fri011aWhile patiently waiting I saw a notice on the board, that nearly had me laughing out loud.

Considering the number of drugs I’m on at this time, indeed never been on so many at the same time before, it tickled me.

Eventually, the lifts came into action, and I was up in the flat having a much-needed wee-wee in no time.

I got the mushrooms in the saucepan on a low light. Kristadellens, mushrooms and seasoned potatoes with tomatoes and gherkins sound a good idea for nosh later.

I put away the bits I’d bought and got on with updating this post.

Stopped to do the Health Checks and take the medications.

5Fri012WDPBL02a Then I got doing the Clexane injection. And boy, did I get it wrong. I’m not sure what I did wrong, but I hurt myself putting it in, and this left lingering sting for hours.

Also, a sensation of, I don’t know the word I’m looking for. Like a stinging pain that felt metallic – that’s not possible, is it? Ah, well!

5Fri35Just about to get the meal prepared and served up, and the door chime rang out. Nottingham City Homes engineer to check the smoke detector.

Finally, I got the nosh. 8.8/10 Flavour Rating given.

I fell asleep in the chair with the food tray at my side.

The landline flashing light woke me up.

WDPBL02a Got a call from the cardiac clinic. Stop using the hypodermic, until further notice. He said something else, but I could not hear what it was, after asking him twice to repeat himself, I think he said that DVT will contact me soon.

Fell asleep.

The landline flashing light woke me up.

WDPBL02a DVT, with new Warfarin doses. 2 tonight and Saturday, 1½ Monday and Sunday – another INR blood Test on Tuesday. Arrgh! I informed the lady that it involves an hour walk for me to get to the surgery and I have made four trips in five days. Also, I have to go to see the nurse on Monday for my CHD checks, and asked if it would be possible for me to have the INR blood test at the same time? No problem. I pray she remembers to tell the surgery of this fact.

I fell asleep.

The landline flashing light woke me up.

WDPBL02a A bloke with a foreign accent speaking. No idea what he was saying. I put the phone down.

5Fri013What does a bald-headed short, plump, deaf, short-sighted, overmedicated, losing his marbles, but harmless old chap have to do to get some rest?

Got to get up early enough in the morning to get things ready for the Skeggy trip. Tsk!

But all the hassle and medications proved to be too much for me to get back to sleep. I lay for a few hours, annoyed and frustrated, then decided at 0300hrs to just get up, update this blog, start Saturdays then check the things needed are in the bag.

Did the Health checks and nearly forgot and injected myself with the Clexane needle. So to avoid any Whoopsiedangleplops again, I moved the new and used hypos into another drawer. At least when the INR plays up next time, I’ll have some syringes ready to use.

5Fri014I found out where the odd fluttering noise was coming from, by cunningly putting in the hearing aids. Clever you know! Hehe! It was the wind blowing the plastic sheeting outside the window, really loud, so I assume I may have this to contend with the winds on my hobble around Skegness later. It was almost cold in the flat as well. Not in reality, but perhaps with it being a little less warm after being hot for so long? Combined with the effects from the Clexane injections, might be a reason for this.

I got the computer on and updated this diary.

Ablutions all done and readied myself to get off to the minibus and a day out at the coast.

Hope it goes well. TTFN each.

Inchcock Today Wed 15th Aug 2018: Warfarin Blood Test. Shopped Again! DVT Clinic Rang, I’m not doing well! Ironclad Beetle punch-up. Hospital rang me back again new instructions. Enjoyable Chinwags today, though!

Whoopsie O1A 03:30hrs: After dreaming I had woken up a few times during a bit of a nightmare, I did arouse myself for real. I knew this cause I was half on – half off of the antiquated rickety £300 second-hand recliner, and banged my toe on the Ottoman as I retrieved the hanging off of the recliner, leg, and foot. Tsk!

I found myself in an amazingly calm submissive frame of mind. I decided to raise my torso from the recliner and get the Health Checks done. Then the brain started its usual wandering off on its own incongruous fretting, worrying and panicking style, considering and investigating, almost inventing problems, and nervously failing to come up with any explanations, suggestions or solutions.

Finding myself in the kitchen, before I did the Health checks, I had a hunt around in search of any Ironclad black biting mini-beetles. Finding not a single one!

Whoopsie O1A Aug18iI shook myself a bit when I saw the working first time Boot’s made in China sphygmomanometer’s results.

Sys 168 and the pulse at 101!

Seems my insides are cooking with gas this morning? Hehehe!

2Tue26

3Wed02I took myself off to the wet room for a short-sharp wee-wee.

No call to the Porcelain Throne yet?

I did spot a few of Ironclad black biting mini-beetles when I returned to the kitchen, though. Did they seem to be loitering with intent? Soon it looked like a scrap had broken between them? Haha!

Got the Tuesday post finalised and sent off to WordPress, then more Windows updates arrived. Oy Gevalt!

Went on to the WP reader, and yet again, there was some excellent blogs work on it.

0530hrs: At this point, some weird, outré sounding noises emanated from somewhere. Inside or outside above or below, I could not tell. They only lasted a minute or two. Reminded me of distant ghostly, howling, wailing, voices a bit?

I made a start on this diary. Then got the ablutions tended to. Not a single Ironclad beetle in sight. What’s going on here? Haha!

Made up and took two rubbish bags to the waste chute. Then got ready to go out, carrying a bag of recyclables down with me, leaving it near the caretaker’s door.

3Wed04aThe Willmott-Dixon lads were busy working away again.

A bit nerving having to walk on the road, with all the plant, lorries vans, and cars using the narrow Chestnut Walk, along with the old pedestrian tenants. Willmott-Dixon had supplied monitors to supervise, though. So, I managed to get to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Unterscharführeress Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed, telling Inchcock off Zone, things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, shed, safely. This time, Hahaha!

Arrived at the hut, and greeted the extra strong lager drinkers on the bench with a good morning, and got a similar reply. A good start that, having a mini-natter, cheered me up somewhat.

Nipped in to see the Unterscharführeress Warden Julie and Oberstgruppenführeress Deana, reminded then about the Ironclad Beetle infestation and had a talk and giggle. I asked if they knew how Roy was going on. He is okay. Cheerios shared, and off I limped on my hobble to the surgery.

3Wed05Halfway down Winchester Street hill, the traffic had built up.

The queue had all but cleared within a minute, and by the time I’d got around the bend, it was clear of any blockage.

Doesn’t it irk you when you don’t know what the cause of the jam was? Tsk!.

3Wed05aWhoopsie O1A As I walked through Marshall Street. A naughty monkey of a Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist almost caught me as he sped by me on my left-hand side. Humph! The scallywag!

On to Mansfield Road and up over the crest and down into Carrington I plodded.

I was genuinely pleased with the progress I made today. I didn’t have time as I’d typically do, but it seemed no time at all to me, and there I was at the doctor’s surgery.

I reported to the patient, kind new receptionist, and took a seat. Got the crossword book out and as I opened it to have a bash at some clues, my adorable, sweet nurse Nichole arrived and called my name out. Put the book back in the bag, and I followed the Angel into her treatment room. It was such a pleasure to see her again! ♥

Whoopsie O1A As we walked, I reached into my inside pocket for the DVT record, and realised I had not got it! Shmendrik! Then I recalled getting up yesterday, thinking it was Wednesday, not Tuesday, picking up the log, then put it somewhere while I went for a wee-wee, remembered it was Tuesday, and I will not need it, then forgetting about it today. Bit of a mouthful that. Sorry!

The pulchritude ridden Nichol did my blood, and we had a catch-up chinwag. I showed the picture of the Ironclad beetles, amazing! She has the same problem at her home! We did larf! Hehehe!

Aug18N3Whoopsie O1A She did the blood taking, then said to me; “We (The GP surgery) have been contacted by the Nottingham City Hospital Management, and been informed about your (Me) going to the haematology department for the blood tests. This is not allowed, you must come to this surgery for it!” “Can I ask you why you went there?” (All spoken in a none-threatening tone!)

I explained about my not being able to get an early appointment with the surgery, and my falling asleep and getting tired so much earlier in the day now, means I can’t get things that take me a lot longer to do nowadays, done.

Nichole said the same as on the last two occasions I’d been admonished for doing this. She would put a note on my computer file asking for an early appointment. As if it had worked before? Ah-well! I thanked her, gave her a nibble bag and dropped some biscuits off for the reception staff as I left.

Went over to the chemist to confirm the date for the next prescriptions, and wrote it down in my crossword book cover. The pharmacist gave me the eyes up in the sky glance and tutted. Huh!

Off to Lidl, where I came out considerably less well off. Ha!

3Wed06Caught a bus into Sherwood. Met Shirley and Cyndy there and we had a gossip. Cyndy told me the Social Hours have been cancelled until September. Shame. We all got on the 40 bus, Shirley and me getting off on Winchester Street top, and walked back to the flats. Having a talk en route as we both struggled up the hill.

I called in the hut and dropped off a packet of shortcrust cakes I’d bought. They were half-3Wed07price, so I shared one. Gorgeous flavoured! Yet another natter enjoyed.

Back to the flats and caught up Shirley, one more chinwag enjoyed. Must be a record this, I love em!

Took the photos on the right.

Got in the flat and put the fodder away. Had a wee-wee, Still no signs of any Porcelain Throne activity needed?!?!

Did the Health Checks and took the medication doses.

Set about updating this blog for three hours straight! Concentration was not good for some reason.

Whoopsie O1A The landline chirped. It was a chap from the Nottingham City Hospital DVT Deep Vein Thrombosis unit. Apparently, over the last six months, my INR Warfarin blood test results, have only been within range for 36% of the time. Something must be done about this he said. Then commenced to ask me many questions, which he listened patiently to the answers to. In the end, he said to take my evening medications at 1600hrs, and do not get stressed. He will consult with someone or other, and get back to me. I thanked him.

Not getting stressed is not really an option at the moment. The death-defying walk along the footpathless Chestnut Walk every day going out and returning home. The beetle infestation, The dirt, noise and hassle from the upgrading. Which can’t be helped. Along with Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna getting frisky with me, are a few reasons for this. The chap who rang is aware. Cause I told him, also that it will be a good few months yet until it is all done and dusted. The upcoming balcony pod being fitted, the dreaded electricians and plumbers to install the sprinkler system… Sod it, I’m getting myself all uptight now. Tsk!

I got back to updating this blog, and a single voice emanated from the Health Alarm, it just said ‘Hello’, then nothing else.

I got the mushrooms on in the saucepan and the oven heating up, then checked the potatoes.  I’m getting tired again, and it’s getting late now.

3Wed10I did the last Health Checks.

I got a tin of stuffed cabbage in tomato sauce from Lidl earlier. With minced pork inside. I’m looking forward to trying it later on in the month. I have a lot of dated fodder to eat first.

I opened the packet of the Shortcrust biscuits and put them in an airtight container, after nibbling one of them. By gum, they are good!

Still no indications of any need for the Porcelain Throne today. Worrying that, Hehe!

Got the potatoes in the oven.

Carried on with doing this post again.

Then got the meal served up.

4Thu21Apart from the tomatoes, everything else was most stomach warming and taste-bud tickling.

I settled down and tucked into the mini Lincolnshire sausage feast with relish.

Duodenal Donald seemed to ease off at last after I’d eaten my heart’s content.

Washed the pots, leaving the saucepan to soak for a while.

Into the recliner chair and nodded off.

Whoopsie O1A The blinking light from the landline phone woke me up, and I struggled out of the £300 rickety second-hand recliner and got to it before it stopped ringing. A second call from the DVT clinic, someone else about the low INR level.

I scribbled down notes, that I’m afraid are confusing me now, reading them afterwards. I think; I have to take 4.5 Warfarin now – 2.5 Thursday and have another INT test on Friday. Also, (according to my scribbled notes) I have to inject 05.9 of Enoxaparin now.

I’m grappling with my confusion, to understand it all. Being half-awake when the second call came, did not help.

I’ll have to ask someone to call the surgery for me in the morning… oh, and the Morrison delivery will be here too. I’m struggling now.

Got the head down. Laid fretting for hours. Humph!

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 8th August 2018: Hobble to the blood test, visited HMP Prison Nottingham and took some photographicalisations!

Wednesday 8th August 2018

 Yiddish: מיטוואך 8 אויגוסט  2018

0345hrs: I woke and noticed the reminder note hanging on the TV screen (About the trip to the hospital for the INR Warfarin blood test this morning). I was prompted to free my bulbous body and limbs from the £300 second-hand recliner.

As I did so, I saw signs of nocturnal-nibbling having been partaken in. Empty cheese curl packets, and a few Scottish Shorties biscuit crumbs on the belly. Guilt-Mode Adopted. Hehe!

Took a short-sharp wee-wee.

Got the bag of nibbles made up for the nurses, then did the Health Checks.

3Wed01

Back for another painful short-sharp wee-wee.

Got the medications taken.

WDP001B Turned on the computer. All I got was a black screen with a message saying ‘Out of Range’ with a series of mystery numbers. What bit of equanimity that was lingering in my mind, was replaced with lugubriousness and deep saturninity. My heart sank, gloom enveloped my life, and I was irritated and baffled too. Tsk!

I turned off at the plug, then tried again, fingers crossed and praying out loud. This time everything started and opened as usual. I did not allow myself to get too happy over this, for fear and expectancy of things going to to go wrong again next time I launch windows.

Off to the Porcelain Throne. Messy job again, and none of those Ironclad black mini-biting-beetles was spotted.

Got on with updating the Monday Diary and posting it off to WordPress.

Then made a start on this blog.

3Wed02Off to get the ablutionalisations tended to. A stand up wash today, as it is a little early to use the shower, cause of the noise it makes disturbing my beloved neighbours.

The left toes looked most Picasso-like. Hehehe! Where I’d dropped the lemongrass pot on the middle toe, the bruises had turned to different colours now. Reds, yellows and browns?

Some sort of fungus-like growth under the big toenail had been joined by some technical-type drawing signs, or Braille, in black under the hallux of the big-phalanx.? I’m going to pot yer know!

3Wed03All refreshed and cleaned up, I made up a black bag of rubbish to go in the rubbish chute as I leave for the hospital. But, luckily, I realised it was too early to use the chute. So I took it down with me and dropped it near to the caretaker’s door later on.

The sign on the electronic information board outside the lifts on the ground floor had got the temperatures back showing again, showing 3Wed04athat it was currently Sunny and 27°c – 80.6°f.

It didn’t feel that hot when I crossed over Chestnut Walk and up the grave incline.

Anne Gyna kicked off before I was a third of the way up the hill.

But, again, as soon as the ground levelled at the top, she eased off, bless her cotton socks.

The plates-of-meat and toes soon began to ache and sting. But this was expected with the Whoopsiedangleplops I’d had with them lately. Even I had to smile thinking about my toe stubbing, dropping of pots on the toes and my walking into the kitchen door. A Shmendrik I am!

3Wed05Limped through the park, up Mansfield Road and down Edwards Lane, and decided to take a different route to the blood test. I went down Perry Road so I could make some photos of the HMP Nottingham gaol (Prison) there.

As I got nearer to the HMP some blackberries hanging over a garden wall, looked to be in perfect condition. But they were too high for this old short-legged chap to reach them. Hehe!

3Wed05a

According to the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB): This establishment is going through difficult times at the moment. One-in-three drug tests (On prisoners I assume?) prove to be positive. It has an appalling suicide rate (Two attempts every week). And a killing too. Justice Secretary David Gauke said he will look at “the issues faced by the prison” and publish an action plan. Mmm?

3Wed06When I got to the end of Perry Road, a pile of rubbish seemed to have been artistically laid out in the corner. I don’t think this area is near where the detainees are located, though.

Right and down Hucknall Road, having to walk through the many holes in the ground where they are mending a gas leak I would guess. For there were many large No Smoking signs on display.

3Wed07It was a grand morning, and a gentle breeze was occasionally blowing.

I had to avoid a few Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists as I made my way to the GUM clinic first. They were all too quick for me to get the camera out, though. Huh! I got into the reception window thingy. The regular chap must have been on holiday, but his replacement had all the required skills to make him a most worthy replacement. The curled lip, the sneer. And the excellently done exhaling of breath as he pointed to the chair where one has to sit and wait. Perfect bloke for the job! I got summoned back to the reception, along with two other chaps. We were all told that the doctor had not arrived, and we are to call for another appointment tomorrow morning.

3Wed08As I left and started to walk to the Haematology Department, these clouds in the sky stopped me in my tracks.

In the centre of this picture, it looked at first glance that an atomic bomb was going off? And the cloud to the right seemed to have been painted on the sky as an after-thought? Yes? No? Ah well, it’s probably just my new glasses. Haha!

I got to the waiting area and took a ticket from the machine. Not many folks there yet, I had tab 127, and the device called ticket holder 115 next. So, not long to wait this morning. I did some crossword efforts all the same.

The nurse was not in a good mood when I was called into cubicle three. Seemed a bit 3Wed09vague and non-responsive. But she cheered up after doing me when I gave her a bag of nibbles to share around with the staff.

With it being still so early, I thanked them and left, getting to the ring road island and pondered on which way to go home.

Too early by an hour to use my much appreciated and loved pensioners free bus 3Wed10pass.

I decided to walk back using the usual old route, along the ring road.

The traffic on the dual carriageway was extremely light, I thought.

As long as took my time and enjoyed a steady amble, I might get to the Sherwood bus stop in time for the number 40 bus and get a lift back up the Winchester Street hill.

The poddle along the road to the next traffic island was Nottinghamian PAvemnt Cyclists infested. Hehe! I got a photo of three of them and missed the other two.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

3Wed12aaI eventually got to the bus stop in Sherwood, without having to push myself, and I felt good, apart from the poor feet. I caught a bus within ten-minutes and made my way up from the bus stop on Winchester Street, back to Winwood Heights.

Plenty of Willmott-Dixon workers about, busy at the job. The WoodthorpeGrane Park bound dogs were taking their owners to play ball.

3Wed12bI could see in the distance, on my block of flats, the hoist was going up and down.

I manoeuvred my way towards the flat and noticed the Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Patch Manager parking her pap-pap.

We had a chinwag. During which she asked if the cellophane had been removed from the kitchen window yet. I looked up, to see the workers hoist on my level outside the apartments. All windows in view had had there plastic removed. I assumed they were doing mine and others on the floor at this moment.

I felt the warm wet indication that Little inchy was bleeding, and had to cut short an enjoyable natter.

I got up to the flat and into the wet room and cleaned and medicated things. Tsk!

3Wed14I washed up and went to the kitchen to take the medications and do the midday Health Checks.

The specially created for me picturesque artwork on the cellophane outside of the window is still there.

The hoist was on the floor above. I moved later, kindly leaving my Picasso inspired and designed filthy plastic sheets.

3Wed15I took the padding off of the arm where the blood was taken. The bit of leaked blood seemed a different colour than normal. I know I am colour blind on reds, they found that out years ago when I had a medical for a job as Goods Guard with British Railways. Can it get worse, I wondered?

The Health Checks were completed, and the medications were then taken.

The readings were fine.

3Wed01

Got the computer on, it started alright. Phew! I made up a route map of the way I had taken my hobble. Then updated this diary.

3Wed18

I got a phone call from an Asian sounding voiced man. I rang off straight away. Ten-minute late I got a call on my mobile – gingerly I answered. It was from the Doctor’s surgery, with the results of my blood test. Amazing, when I go to the hospital for my INR test, I get the results like this, in four and a half hours. Go to the surgery for extraction, and it is three days before I get the new dosages! Stop moaning Inchie!

INR level 1.5 (Very low, in High Risk). Next weeks dosages: Wed (tonight) 2.5 tablets, Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon and Tue 2. Easy to remember anyway. I made an appointment with the surgery for the next blood test. (Well, I’m missing Nurse Nicole) Wednesday 15th at 100hrs. I put this on the calendar straight away.

Then I emailed a photo of the black biting mini-beetle to Angela.

Went on the Facebooking on TFZers site, put the photos from today on.

Went on to the WordPress reader next.

Late now, time running out, along with the energy and concentration.

Health Checks were done and medications were taken.

3Wed29aMust get the fodder cooking.

Lamb hotpot (Ready made meal version). Had some potato fritters Mash in batter, that I had bought from the Farmfood Store with the lamb and sliced potatoes.

I don’t know if it was because I’d had a long hobble or not, but by-gum I enjoyed this meal so much. The 9.45/10 Taste-Rating was deserved.

I put the tray with the well-emptied dish on the other chair and got the TV on to watch a Heartbeat episode, which I stayed awake for all the way through. Then nodded off to have a dream that was so odd, in the morning I made up a graphic of the singular impression I could remember.

 Here it is:

This one image is all I can recall about the nocturnal sweven. How, why and what remains a mystery to me. Can any kind dream analysist help me here? Hehe!

This got to me a bit, and in the morning I looked up dreaming about wasps. I’ll print what the site said about this, it in the morning’s dairy.

I woke with a start, convinced that some noise had waken my up. But all was silent.

I lay a moment, and the pleasure of my old pipe with some Erinmore mixture burning away, and me sat on the lake or riverside fishing and enjoying the smoke. Ah, sweet memories!

Inchcock Today – Thursday 28th June 2018: Missed social hour, blood test, unexpected welcome visitor and minimal Whoopsiedangleplops – Decent day!

דאָנערשטיק 28 יוני 2018 Yiddish

4Thu020215hrs: Burst into life… Well, I woke-up, out of the £300 second-hand recliner, dressed, had a wee-wee and got the laundry collated.

Down and got the washing on the go, and took this photo outside the foyer doors.

I noticed some birds flying around amongst the trees opposite. Dark coloured, would they be crows after mice etc. do you think?

4Thu01Back up to the apartment. Took this shot as I entered the kitchen. Moddy one, I think. A lot of lights on for this time in a morning. 0330hrs

Made a brew of Assam tea. A slightly malty flavour this tea has, pleasant to drink when I first get up and about.

I got the things ready and did the morning health checks.

The sphygmomanometer worked the first time.

4Thu05

4Thu04All the readings were comparable to those from yesterday’s first Health Checks.

I’ve no idea why I got the Germoloid tube out of the medical drawer. I usually keep it where I apply it, in the wet room?

Made a start at sorting the photographs taken, ready to do the Wednesday blog.

4Thu06Didn’t get far into the job, and it was time to go down to move the laundry from the washer to the dryer.

Got the clothes into the machine and someone had not cleaned-out the filter. I went in the drawer where the toothbrush is usually stored, ready for us to use to do the job of removing the fluff from the wire mesh filter, and the brush was not there. So, I used my fingers.

4Thu09Whoosie3W01A Which proved to be an injudicious thing to do. Cause the wire mesh had bits sticking out, and I clumsily caught a sharp bit down the inside of my fingernail.

What a Shlemiel!

Got the dryer going and out to the lift foyer to go back to the flat.

4Thu03Waiting for the arrival of the lift, I espied that a new notice was on the board, from Jenny.

Day Trip to Skegness, door to door travel they said.

The last time I went to Skegness, was when I came out from the heart operation. Brother-in-law Pete and I went, his treat! I put my name on the list. I wonder if he and Jane would be interested in going?

I just hope the strangulation operation date will not clash, and the other ailments will allow me to enjoy this day out? A bit risky I know, with the fungal lesion if it starts bleeding, but I really would like to go.

Back up to the apartment and continued with the Wednesday diary updating, and got it finished and posted off.

4Thu070430hrs: Down to collect the laundry.

Got the stuff out and folded. So you note the mystery in this photo? Yes, the odd-sock!

The abstruseness and inscrutableness of how this happens so often were eased a tad when I realised it happens to so many other folks as well. Tsk!

But why should it be the one pair of expensive socks with the slip-proof soles that have to go missing, and not one of the cheap ones? Very discombobulating. Humph!

4Thu08

By the time I’d got back up to the flat, the morning had brightened up. Still warm, so I stripped off.

I got the clothing stored away and made a fresh brew of tea.

I made a start on creating this diary.

0650hrs: I remembered the Morrison order is coming between 0700 > 0800hrs. So I got some clothes on, don’t want to scare the driver. My blubbery rhinoceros with two-legs torso is enough to scare anyone. Hehe!

I got the nibbles for the nurse in the bag, made sure the Thrombosis record card was in the jacket pocket and passed an unexpected ginormous blast of wind from the rear end.

The Morrison delivery arrived. Noises from the flat above as the driver came. Clunk and thud sounds. But of course, I am not complaining, just mentioning it. No point in my risking getting another telling off from the Nottingham City Homes for complaining about the noise. As the Management, told me; “He is doing nothing wrong, just following his hobby of model making. You’ll have to put up with it!” I don’t want to lose my home because the man is so well in with the Nottingham City Homes Management. He seems to be well off and connected methinks.

4Thu10

0750hrs: Returned the bags from the last delivery and thanked the gentleman.

I got the things checked and stored away. Fridge now fuller than ever.

Straight into the wet room and did the ablutions. By Jimminee, the water was hot this morning.

4Thu11All freshened up and dressed, got the bag with the nibbles, crossword book, umbrella, collapsible walking stick (which I found out later, had gone missing, fancy that!), hearing aid batteries and an extra pack of codeine in it.

I set out, down and along Chestnut Walk to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Flats, Unterscharführeress Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-4Thu12break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like porcelain and pottery to be stolen from, and residents hut.

Heavy traffic this sunny Thursday.

Jenny and a resident were in situ. Willmott Dixon’s Del-Boy was in there making a brew. I had a chinwag with the gal.

I could not hand over the sourdough bread for the Obergruppenfurheress Wardens. Jenny told me they were both on holiday. She put it in the freezer so they could use it later.

Stopped for a natter with some residents at the 4Thu13bus stop as I made my way on the walk to the surgery. I had a gossip with some tenants on the road as I left.

As I turned right onto Winchester Street Hill, (going down it, I’m pleased to say, Haha!) the view between on the corner between the trees and bushed, was particularly impressive, I thought. So I took this picture.

4Thu13aI walked on down the hill onto Mansfield Road, and down the slope towards Carrington.

Where, this Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist was making a nuisance of himself, in his pursuit of scaring the pedestrians.

I was in plenty of time, bags of it. So no need to rush to the doctors.

4Thu14As I got to the steep bit of the hill, just before the crest, I passed the particularly singular and attractive row of houses on the other side of the roadway. A touch of Fothergill Watsonism here, methinks.

Onward up and over the hilltop, taking my time and enjoying the weather, so much so, I forgot to wear my hat this morning. I’ll suffer later. Tsk!

I got in the surgery and reported to the Oberleutnantess receptionist. Who offered me a slant-eyed expression that said: “Oh, him again!”

I got seated and fumbled to get the crossword book out of the bag. Seconds later I was so pleased to see Nurse Nichole summoning me towards her. She was very busy and had taken the opportunity to get me seen to between other patients. Bless her cotton-socks! ♥

She soon got me done and managed a tiny titillating chinwag at the same time. I gave her her chocolates in thanks and was off in no time. Dropping some nibbles for the other staff on the way out.

4Thu15I walked down through Carrington to the Lidl store. Where yet another Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist, threatened again.

I arrived at the self-service tills with some nibbles for the Social Hour, Crispy onions, jelly babies, mature cheddar cheese, Sliced gherkins, and a pack of mini sausages by mistake. I’d meant to select the Cumberland mini sausages but ended up with Hot & Spicy ones. Eugh! Humph!

Out and caught a bus back to Sherwood. I got knocked about so much I thought I’d be bound to get some new bruises. Such was the jerkiness of the drivers operating of the bus.

4Thu16Got off in Sherwood and visited a couple of the Charity Shops in search of a replacement for the mugs I had broken last week. But I was unsonsy, not that I expected anything else.

Made my way to the bus stop to catch the L9. No other tenants were about at the time.

As I got off of the bus, I had a few words and laughed with those residents who were waiting for the next bus to arrive.

I proceeded in a Northerly direction back to the apartment. Met with two other occupants and we did a little mutual moaning. Hehe!

Got in the hot, noisy flat, and put the ice-cream in the freezer and other stuff away.

The chaps were nearby on their hoist drilling away again. But, not as bad as it has been.

4Thu17

4Thu19

4Thu18As I got the fodder prepared and checked the crock-pot, the hoist went down. I took this picture above, blind through the window. You can see the lads below.

The bottom field was looking a lot paler now. The sun has done its damage. We can do with some rain, now.

I did the Health Checks and took the medications.

4Thu21I got on with updating this diary.

I went to make sure I’d locked the door and found a letter on the floor. It was from SpecSavers trying to get me to spend more money with them. I made up an email explaining just what I think of their attitude, service, and customer visual and verbal molestation stances. Those hearing aids certainly made a difference to me. The batteries run out after four hours. The screeching is constant, and superior attitude shown by your sales staff. This service leaves me with the inclination not to revisit your store. I bet you I don’t get a reply! Haha!

4Thu20Getting tired now.

I tore off the retaining plaster from the arm. It looked good this time, no welts, bruising or bleeding at all.

It’s that Nurse Nichole I can thank for this. XXX

The intercom rang out. It was my old mate Michael, bearing gifts (PPs) for me. Weary as I felt, I was so pleased to have a chance for a jolly-good natter. I fear it was me who did most of the talking. Klutz!

I carried on with the updating process, then got the meal served up.

4Thu20The mini veggie sausages were not a nice as I expected, but everything else was spot-on, first class, delightful!

I risked a mug of orange juice, but had the weaker brand to avoid any tummy upsets, as advised. Still, a decent 9.2/10 taste rating, though.

Took me ages to get the pots washed, with all the mess I’d made with the ingredients and cooking.

The England match does not need any comments from me. Farcical times in the World Cup. I turned off the telly after a few minutes.

Watched some TV and feeling elated at Michaels visit, uptight about missing the Social Hour and dismay at the football.

I drifted off into what turned out to be a marathon sleep, for me.

Inchcock Today: Wednesday 20th June 2018: Medicalistical mayhem, again. Hehe!

ZZZ16c

Wednesday 20th June 2018

Zulu: NgoLwesithathu Mhla Zingama-20 KuJuni 2018

0315hrs: Shot awake, then tried to get back to sleep. Couldn’t though when I realised I had to go to the City Hospital today and needed to get the diaries caught up with. Ablutions and medicationalising were done so much earlier. Get everything ready and sorted for the Doctors, and have the blood test. So I got out of the £300 second-hand recliner and of to the kitchen to start with getting the Health Checks done.

3Wed01

3Wed02I turned on the kitchen light, and nothing happened. Got the camera and took this picture and the light tube started to flicker into life, eventually lighting up the room.

I wondered what anyone outside must have thought if they saw the almost pyrotechnic display of light flashing for so long. From then on, the light worked okay. Took a while to get started each time, but nothing like as long as this time. Hehe!

Got the computer started and had to nip to the Porcelain Throne. Signs of Trotsky Terence being interested in returning, but not too severely.

Back to the computer and started this post off up to here.

Updated yesterday’s Inchcock next. Posted it off and made a start on this one up to this far.

2Tue15Made up the nibble bags for the blood test nurses at the hospital.

WDP001B The muck from the works taking place outside on the external wall, has somehow got into the kitchen? Hey-ho!

Then it was time for me to get the ablutions and medications tended to.

3Wed03Gathered the black bags, recycling jars, etc. and off out to the chute. Dropped the waste bags down the chute en route. To the lift, arrived at the lobby beneath at exactly 0800hrs.

The electronic sign advertised ‘Could you be a complaints member?’ After I gingerly mentioned the noise coming from a certain person above my dwellings and was told “He is doing nothing wrong, just following his hobby of model making. You will have to live with it”; I think I might be able to bring some light on how to deal with complaints? But I can say no more, after also being told it is not on and out of order for me to mention anything that takes place between me and any representative, agent or employee, in my blog. So I’ll say nowt and cross this out.

3Wed04

Windy but warm with it again today.

I placed my cleaned and rinsed Balsamic vinegar, malt vinegar and smoky BBQ sauce bottles in the bin. When I put the gherkin jar in the container, yesterday, it was the only one in there.

A few in now, no sauce, jam or pickle jars, though. Wine, Rum, Cognac, Gin, Whiskey… all alcoholic bottles. Hehehe!

It’s just jealousy of course. I’ve had all my old pleasures taken away from me; driving licence, passion involvement, alcohol-intake, pipe smoking… Humph!  All through medical conditions of varying natures. Spit!

3Wed04aOver the road and up by the Tree Copse into Woodthorpe Park.

A Fun-Fayre was in the process of being set-up on the old football field. This brought memories of the last one we had here. That was when the teenagers conned residents into letting them in via the intercom. They stole fire extinguishers and did some material damage. Then threatened the Security Guard who responded, and spat at him. When he told them he had called the police, they nearly damaged themselves 3Wed05laughing. I got an EQ conceived thought, that something nasty would happen this weekend. Fingers crossed I am wrong.

I had a delightful unhurried stroll along to Mansfield. One lady allowed me to respond to her dog when it came to me for a bit of fuss. Nice of her, it cheered me and the little dog up I think.

3Wed06The traffic was heavy, and I made a mental note of being careful, when crossing the many roads I will need to on the way to the City Hospital.

I pressed on slowly and wearily.

Magnus Road and on down Edwards Lane turned right onto the congested Valley Road dual carriageway.

3Wed07The mind wandering as I legged it along towards the A611, were of a controlled memory of yesteryear for some reason.

I was back in 1958 in the backyard of the house in Brookfield place. Mrs Duke, Mrs Wing, Polish George and my young love Christine provided the recollections for me to stew over, happily for once. A very much pleasant, congenial, delightful rarity for me, this.

3Wed08I was well deep in thoughts, and not concentrating on where I was going, as I wallowed in nostalgia.

When this Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclistess actually clipped my arm with her handlebar as she sped by me. Another new bruise again now! But, on this occasion, I immediately realised it was partly my own fault for being in an, albeit temporary, dream world – literally.

3Wed15There were entrance/exit roads to cross on this stretch of the roadway.

It was just as well I had set out early and was in no rush. IT took me ages to get across each road safely. Taxi after taxi and cars going in and out, all seemingly in a great hurry, pedestrians were apparently not their first concern.

When I got into the waiting area, there were perhaps only 30 or so sat in the queueing zone. I got a ticket, number 142, and they called out for card 105 to go to cubicle One. I thought this is going to no bother, I’ll be going in within fifteen minutes max. This proved to be an Ignis Fatuus (A deceptive goal or hope [Feel free to use Ignis Fatuus] Hehe!)

Half an hour later, and I was still a way off from being summoned. Seems they had put up a message on the indicator telling us they were swamped and to expect a long wait for the Phlebotomy Department. On the bright side, I completed a crossword from scratch while waiting! First one I’ve ever fully finished in this book – and no one around for me to brag about it, too! But the next one I started had me beat, not that is difficult to beat me at anything. Tsk!

3Wed17

They only had two of the five cubicles in use. Eventually, I was called. The look I got from the lady as she pointed to the chair and took the paperwork from me without a word, told me all I needed to know. I was going to be in trouble here!

She got annoyed when I didn’t hear when she did speak. All over in seconds, she didn’t waste any time checking to see if it was still bleeding after taking the blood, just stuck a plaster over the cotton wool I had been pressing down onto.

I did what Doug from America advised, I killed her with caring kindness.  Put on my bestest smile and gave her the bag of nibbles. Suddenly she wanted to talk, thanking me profusely. I replied ‘You’re welcome’ and departed.

3Wed10I hobbled to the bus stop, the feet were stinging a bit now. Go a number 40 bus and was the only person on it at the time.

Many more passengers got on en route, though.

I’ve done boxing against bigger chaps, (I lost all the bouts of course), a bungee-jump, faced an armed intruder, pulled a bloke from under his burning motorbike, got thrown into the canal 3Wed11when I about five years old, a confrontation with the Mau-Mau, and voted Liberal once. So I can’t be accused of being fearful (Although I am).

WDP001B But this bus ride scared me to death almost. The driver might have been related to Nigel Benn, Lewis Hamilton or trained Marc Márquez. Gawd, he was a manically fast and jerky driver! He got through gaps, especially on the Mansfield Road, with inches to spare.

This indeed concentrated my mind when it came to getting up to get off of the bus, and still, keep my balance.

The 40 screeched to a halt at the bus stop. I nervously muttered a thank you to the busman as I limped shakingly off of the vehicle. The thanks were offered for my still being alive, I think. Hehehe!

I limped up the hill back to the flats, really just happy to have got there without any injuries. The workmen were busy again. I could hear the drilling and grinding getting louder and louder as I neared my beloved Woodthorpe Court.

3Wed12a

Again, I didn’t see any residents on my way up to the twelfth floor. Got in, had a wee-wee and did the Health Checks and took the medications. The building seemed to be vibrating, but it was only the drilling outside.

I got the computer on and made a route map of today’s hobble.

3Wed12aa

I got on with updating this diary.

May hours later I stopped to make a mug of tea.

Took the dressing off of the arm.

3Wed12b

Not sure if the new bruising is from the nurse or the Nottingham Pedestrian Cyclistess. But I thought I could see a further swelling coming up.

3Wed14Went to take the last medications of the day.

Noticed that the head scar was changing colour again. Why I don’t know. But it is nothing new for me not to know something. Haha!

Had to visit the Porcelain Throne.

It turned out to be a false alarm. Again I didn’t know why.

Thought about what to have for my nosh. I might try a can of the BBQ sauce boneless mackerel, some mashed and cheesed potatoes, garden peas (Tinned, no fresh ones left now), and some tomatoes and gherkins. Does this sound good to you?

3Wed18Went to catch up on my Facebooking next. All went well until I suddenly lost about fifty comments, there one minute, gone the next. Oh, I am confused now!

Hello, hello, hello! Just had a bit of itching from the arm, had a look at it, and new scars welts whatever, have appeared since an hour or so ago?

My body is going to pot yer know. Haha!

Got the nosh sorted out. As planned this time. The boneless mackerel fillets in BBQ sauce, tomatoes, vinaigretted beetroot, a baby-sized tin of peas and mash with cheese added. I had carbonated water tonight, cause I thought I’d done well in avoiding any chips or bread. Awaiting Sister Jane’s critical evaluation, assessment and comments now. Haha!

3Wed30

Did the Health Checks and took the medications.

No World Cup matches on tonight of any interest to me. But I did watch a daft, Go-along-with-it-film and enjoyed it.

3Wed29a

Mainly because it was an unserious escapist film, and it had sub-titles, too.

I tried to watch a police programme aftrwards, but fatigue overtook me and thankfully, the brain allowed me to sleep. Ah, All Praise to sweet Morpheus, who entangled himself in my dreams of peace!

Inchcock Today: Wednesday 13th June 2018

ZZZ16J

Wednesday 13th June 2018

Catalan: Dimecres 13 de Juny de 2018

0300hrs: After failing to get to sleep with all the hassle last night, I did, in the end, get off into the land of Nod, but woke with a start, in imperative need of the utilisationing of the Porcelain Throne. Hehe!

Whoosie3W01 The Fungal Lesion had been bleeding a good bit. But, the evacuation was a lot better and less messy this morning.

While doing my duty, analytic self-reasoning with cognitively biased thoughts rumbled through the grey-cells as I sat uncomfortably and nervously on the loose plastic toilet seat, for the exodus. These reflections and considerations brought no conclusive results. But, they rarely do!

Washed-up and into the kitchen to do the Health Checks.

3Wed01

3Wed02Whoosie3W01 Cor-blimus! I’ve been hoping that the Sys does not go any lower, and hey-presto, it shoots right up this morning? Wonder if last night’s hassle with the phones and lack of sleep again, affected this?

Got the Tuesday Diary finalised and posted off to WordPress.

Took me until 0800hrs to get this achieved.

Ablutions tended to and enjoyed. Medicationalisticalisationing completed. As I turned off the computer, some more Windows Updates came in. What these will do to or change in my machine this time, is vexing.

Whoosie3W01 One rubbish bag was taken to the chute on the way out. Down the elevator and out into the welcoming sunshine and fresh breeze, and started a gentle stroll along Chestnut Walk, nearly got hit by a car coming from behind, and realised I had no got my hearing aids in. Klutz!

I returned to the flat and put the hearing aids in. Huh!

3Wed03Back out again.

I hundred yards or so beyond the Nottingham City Homes, soon to named, Winwood Heights Flats, Unterscharführeress Catwalk Modelling Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room; I turned and snapped this photographicalisation. I photo’s it to show the incredible growth of the Chestnut Trees. From this angle, they now obliterated the view of all three buildings.

3Wed04Making my way down the Winchester Street hill, I had a Dizzy Dennis attack near the garages as I neared the bus stop shelter.

No bother, this time, it had evaporated within a minute or so. Not that it didn’t concern me at first, all okay now.

I hobbled steadily down to Mansfield Road. Where the closed businesses on either side of the roadway, was a disheartening sight.

3Wed04a

As I plodded on up the hill towards Carrington, two unmarked silver ARVs shot towards by with blues and twos on. Two minutes later another ARV sped by. Two minutes later as I was going down the hill towards the surgery, two marked cars did the same. Next, a single marked police vehicle went by.

3Wed06

I stopped to take these shots of some bees in the flowers.

3Wed07

3Wed08One bee looked like he was wearing a splint on his left back leg. Hehe!

Then yet another marked police car shot towards the town. Lights and siren on, he cleverly weaved his way through the now dense traffic in Carrington.

Annoying, not knowing why, innit?

3Wed09Getting through the parked vans on the pavement was a bit of a struggle for me.

But how anyone with a wheelchair, site-impaired or elderly with sticks or zimmer frame would have gone on?

Yet, I still felt sorry for the delivery drivers with their mission impossible tasks to get done.

3Wed10I got to the Sherrington Park Medical Practice, with plenty of time to spare, and my general mood had brightened a bit by then.

Yet a different receptionist was on duty, again? I signed in with her and sat down, got the crossword book out and waited to be summoned.

Whoosie3W01 No Nurse Nichole on duty, my spirits dipped down again.

When I got into Nurse Ann’s treatment room, I hastened to roll up my sleep and sat down ready for the blood to be taken. Bless her, the nurse did ask what was the matter with me, not gossiping, and can she do anything to help. I replied, no, thank you though.

I was soon tended to and then departed. I did not leave any nibbles as I usually would have done. I was peeved at getting yet another late appointment for the blood test, and in my current state of pathetic self-pity and wretched mood at all the failures and lack of help, I was unconcerned about this. I said my farewells as I left, but got no response.

Once outside in the clement weather, I limped into Carrington towards the Chemist shop. The chemist, who I called visited to make sure when to collect my monthly prescriptions and was told to call on Friday. Which I did, and was told to call back on Monday, which I did, and collected the medications, got home to find the two bottles of medicine were missing. So I called back on Tuesday to tell them, and they had none in stock, I was to call back on that Friday. Which I didn’t. I left it until today when I had to go out for the blood test anyway. So I’ve had about five days without the medications, and no one is interested.

The distress from Duodenal Donald and the Plates-of-meat, both currently giving me anguish and pain, along with the resentment at not being listened to about the noises I am living with, have created a new meaner me, today! And I don’t like him!

I got the bottles, thanked the lady and left, going to the Lidl store. Where I cheered up a little again. This is probably due to my emacity, or more precisely, my shopping addiction being satiated. I ended up on the self-serve tills, still, without any Whoopsies or errors made, and having spent over £20! But this did include £3-95 for a razor with 20 double bladed heads, little birthday pressies for some of the gals, radishes, tomatoes, raffle prizes. Some nibble box goodies and even a bar of dark chocolate and pack of ice-cream cones for myself. So, fair enough. Self-pity equates to self-indulgence! That was good, did I really say that? It could be used in an advertising campaign. Hehe!

3Wed11Out of the store and to the bus stop. As you can see in this photograph, when I arrived at the bus shelter, I was the only person there. Moments later I was joined by five other prospective Nottinghamian passengers.

Whoosie3W01 When the bus arrived, they all forced their way, well, four of them anyway, onto the bus ahead of yours-truly, leaving me getting on and no regular seats available.

3Wed12I had to sit on one of the shallow pop-down side-saddle seats. This encouraged Arthur Itis to join in with Duodenal Donald and the Plates-of-meat in giving me some more hurt. Did I say this was an up and down sort of day emotionally for me? Oy vey!

I got off of the bus in Sherwood. With the two large bottles from the chemist and the purchases in the bag, walking was even more painful now. Poor thing, Haha!3Wed14

I had a while to wait until the L9 bus was due, so I took a slow amble in the Sue Ryder shop, window shopping and nosing around. When I realised, I had someone following me and watching my every move, but he amateurishly looked away each time I glanced at him. A plain clothed store detective perhaps, or a possible mugger? Either way, I left the place sharpish… well, preferably at a steady hobble-pace. Hehe!

Poddled to the bus shelter. Roy and one or two other tenants joined the queue. When it arrived, I was the last to get on again, and stood up, near to Doris (I think that’s her name. A lovely lady that I have taken to!)

Back at the flats we get off the bus, greeted those getting on, and Roy went int[ the shed to use the W.C. Doris and I, with another chap tenant, made our way to the flats, having a good natter en route.

Got into the flat and had a wee-wee. Put the fodder away, and shelled some pod peas and got the min the saucepan on a low light.

I received another ‘Odd’ call that I could not understand the voice. I told them this, and they rang off. But they rang back again, I reckon I heard Chunky Chicken said? I rang off.

Got the computer on and it was a right mess, dead slow as well after the Windows update. I thought I’d try turning it off then back on. Then as I opted for close down, the message asked if I wanted to upload update then shut down… I’m fed-up with this, it was already past my head-down time

Rebooted and it was worse than ever. Slow, juddery and my Grammarly was not working, WordPress continues to swap everything to American -English and have to repeatedly go into setting to reset it… life ain’t good at the moment.

Sister Jane rang, I had not emailed her the diary. We had a chat, and I suddenly remembered the peas in the pan! I rang off quickly, explaining why to Jane. It was alright though, Phew! Then I sent the diary off to her, belatedly. Schlemiel!

Really feeling irritable now, with all the failures and things going wrong.

I updated this diary again, but it was slow. So I tried turning off and on again, which of course meant altering the setting again.

3Wed15I got the chips in the oven, podded the peas and got them cooking.

Opened the can of the pork knuckle, and cut up on the plate ready. Sliced the gherkins and tomatoes prepared for when the chips were cooked.

Delightful nosh. A 9.1/10 rating given.

Whoosie3W01 Around 1900hrs, the telephone rang, and fully expecting it to be one of the recent Asian voiced con-men telling me they were from some imaginary Computer centre.

I angrily fought my way out of the recliner and answered the phone with a rather sharp “Yes?” It was the doctor from the DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) Clinic, who assess the INR blood level and Warfarin dosages, each week.

This is the first time in years that they have contacted me from the Hospital and shown any concern. The Doctor said she has decided to leave the dosage the same as last week, but was concerned about the INR content going down so rapidly, to 2.2 from 4.1 in a week. She thought I may have missed more than one night’s Warfarin as I put on the card. This could easily be possible with my memory. The equanimous lady questioned me about the new bruising, where they were, how long they lasted, did they itch and the colour of them, etc. This encouraged me to cheer up, someone showing care.

After I gave her my answers, she added: You must see your Doctor if you have any worries or concerns about the bruising or any excess bleeding or change in colour of any lost blood. I’m afraid I gave out a spur-of-the-moment ‘Phwert’ when she said see your Doctor. It was almost as if she knew about the advice I get given at my doctors; like “Keep an eye on it”, “What else can you expect”, “Others with far fewer ailments than you suffer the same symptoms…” etc.. She calmly said in a rather soothing voice: “Yes, I know!” I felt so appeased and grateful that someone really does understand.

3Wed16I thanked her and wrote down the details.

I removed covering from the arm from the blood test earlier.

Whoosie3W01 Nurse Ann had covered the little mole with the exterior plaster. It is now hanging by a tiny thin thread of flesh, ready to get pulled off and cause much-unneeded bleeding. Humph!

I went into the kitchen to get a drink of fresh orange juice, but it had all been used up. Good job, if it does arrive, the Morrison order has some on it for delivery tomorrow.

Got back down in the chair and with the minds racing away again, fretting, worrying etc., I was delighted when I found I went to sleep so soon, within minutes.

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 2nd May 2018: Waterlogged, sopping wet, macerated and bedraggled in the rain. Huh!

Wednesday 2nd May 2018

Somalian: Arbacada 2aad May 2018

00315hrs: Woke up once again annoyed with my knowing that I had been dreaming, but with no clue as to what it was about. I checked the notepad, but no scribbling on it. Humph!

Then, it dawned on me how turbulent and eruptive the innards felt. They were almost bubbling with little not-really-painful, but irritating stabbings.

I withdrew my bulk from the £300 second-hand recliner and went off to the kitchen to do the Health Checks. I was pleased to note that I had not left the tap or stove on. Sad innit?

3Wed01

3Wed02Made a small mug of tea and utilised the sphygmomanometer.

The readings looked fine to me today.

I was glad that the pulse had gone up a bit at last.

I caught a glimpse of the mush in the mirror.

3Wed04The Spotty Maldooners were still on my chubby, dimpled face cheeks. But again like yesterday, they did not seem so raw or bright.

I found two little spots of bleeding on the bridge of the nose. Very tiny, at first I thought they were new spots coming up until I touched one of them? No pain with them at all?

I remembered today at 1005hrs, I had the blood test with the nurse at the surgery. I went to make sure that the DVT REcord Card was in the jacket pocket. After a bit of grubbling, I found it in the inside pocket. Phew! I certainly did not want to forget it again, and get the “You pathetic 3Wed03old fool!” look from the nurse.

WDP001 I made up next weeks dosage pot trays. Stored them away in the drawer, then realised I’d missed off the Naproxen! What a Nebech!

So I got them out again and corrected my grayz. Feh!

WDP001 Then, the volatile innards violently vented into a movement! I think it might have been a great laugh for anyone who could have seen my farcical attempt to get to the Porcelain Throne in time. Picture a cartoon of a plump little man walking and keeping his legs crossed to get to the wet room without having an accidental evacuation – which in turn squashed his fungal lesion and started that bleeding. The idiot even managed to knock over a waste bin, spilling out the contents and stubbing his toe on the door frame on his panic-filled flustered hobble to the life-saving toilet!

The Throne session release was a great relief. Of course, it was a messy one, all the same, so needed cleaning up afterwards. Then, Little Inchies Lesion now warranted the need for the same and medicationalisationing. The stubbed toe was still stinging. But the old man pressed on, wiped the contact areas with his antiseptic disinfectant-sheets, washed his dandies and returned to the kitchen to pick up the rubbish he’s strewn all over the floor when he kicked over the waste bin earlier.

WDP001 This was when he hit his shoulder on the countertop while 3Wed06getting back up with great difficulty, after bending to retrieve the contents of the bin from the floor.

Although it didn’t need to, my EQ informed me that this was not going to be a good day!

It was now drizzling and the morning had actually got darker over the last hour or so.

A foreboding of unpleasant weather in the offering, do you think?

I took a photo from inside (Bottom one) and then one from outside of the window.

Then got one with finishing the Tuesday post. Eventually, I got it finished and sent off to WordPress.

I worked that I must start doing the ablutions at 0700hrs, so no shower this morning, just when I could have done with one to freshen up from the earlier medical problems too! Tsk!

3Wed05Made a beautiful medium mug of Breakfast tea.

Then started this post off.

Rushing things a bit, and making so many errors and losing time correcting them. I stopped working on the blog and had a short while creating page top material for use later.

Rushed off to do the ablutions.

3Wed07Readied myself, and off I poddled to see if Cathy was in the Obergruppefhuresesses hut yet, to ask about the plastering process.

I was greeted on leaving through the lobby doors, by the pestering persistent precipitation and sharp winds.

I opened the very expensive so-called ‘Storm-Proof’ umbrella. Fingers crossed on this score!

3Wed08Then, I waded through the puddles and down to the Temporary Brigadeführeresses Wardens Nerve-Centre and Social Shed.

There were two workmen having breakfast. I place two iced lollies in the fridge for Dean and Julie.

Gefreiteress Warden Julie joined us. And I explained about my going out. Julie said: (I have been barred by ‘The Management’ to say what she said). Hehe! True!

Dell-Boy Jaz said: (I have been barred by ‘The Management’ to say what he said).

Said my farewells, of out into the rain3Wed09.

As I hobbled down Winchester Street Hill the stream of rainwater was making its way down to Mansfield Road at a reasonable rate of knots.

WDP001 As I crossed over the road, my being careful about the traffic, enabled me to fill my left shoe with rain. Tsk!

3Wed10As I was cutting though Mansfield Street then up Marshall Street onto Mansfield Road, a slight detour was needed before crossing the road.

WDP001 As I started to walk up the A60 to Carrington and the surgery, I could feel the clothing on my back, and the trousers were squelching as I moved.

So much for the waterproof trousers, I’d 3Wed11bought!

WDP001 I caught my first spray of water from a bus as it passed by.

I lost interest in avoiding the rest of them that came my way on the hobble when this first one part filled the carrier bag getting stuff soaked a bit. I know had the right shoe filled with water.

3Wed12WDP001 After I took this photo and had got to the top of the incline on this stretch of road, two more sprays of water had been received. Both feet were waterlogged, the ‘waterproof’ trouser bottoms up to about a foot or so were sodden through. And I was well fed-up!

Up and over the crest and down into Carrington.3Wed12b

With macerated feet, I got in the surgery passageway and did my best to shake off the wet and put the brolly in the bag.

Bedraggled, I entered and waited for a receptionist, any of the three of them at the back huddled over a computer would do for me. None approached me, so I went to sit down – this was not a good idea, but I could not stand up all the time. I was in a right pickle. I could even feel the PPs with their absorbed water being squashed out as I settled down in the chair.

I managed to save the crossword book from getting a drenching and began to do some puzzles. One of the receptionists came to each patient and gave us information updating form to fill in. I did not recognise any of the three girls, so I asked this one if she was aware of my name and my presence to see the nurse. I got a muffled reply and a scowl very nearly worthy of Lidl staff.

I filled in the form and took it to the reception, but again, no staff were at the desk, back at the computer. So I left in on the counter and returned to my crossword book; after an uncomfortable sitting down. Squelching and running rainwater within some regions of my anatomy. Nervous, apprehensive and unpleasant sensations arose!

Luckily, I had a good session in on the crosswords. Fair enough, I didn’t get any of them actually completed, but I must have worried one or two them. Hahaha!

WDP001 Suddenly it dawned on me; it was half-an-hour beyond my appointment time! As I fretted that the receptionist had not booked me in – Nurse Ann appeared calling my name. I got the bag and followed her into the treatment room, explaining as we went along (While I thought of it), about the spots of bleeding on the bridge of the nose, and the blemishes. Within perhaps one second, she replied; “Keep your eye on them. We’ve been rushed here, you wouldn’t believe how busy!” That threw me off track with the things I wanted to mention to her, altogether.

After she took the blood and told me to hold my finger on it, she went into the other half of the room onto the computer. I did talk about getting soaked in the weather. She said she was nipping out and would be back in a while, keep pressing on the vein.

She returned and stuck a plaster on the wound and taped some cotton wool on. She did look a little agitated. I gave her some nibbles and departed, I left a bag of bites on the reception counter for the support team – I had no choice, cause again, there was no staff manning it.

3Wed14Brolly up and out into the surgery car park, to be greeted once again by the persistent rain.

WDP001 As I walked down Mansfield Road to the Lidl store, I felt beyond caring as I got yet another soaking leaving me sodden wet through.

I bought two cheesy cobs, some small tomatoes, some pork shoulder slices and seasoned sliced potatoes. When I got to the self-serve tills, the lad who was so helpful last week, just stood there glaring at me. He’s soon settled into the Lidl mindset and psyche, bless him.

3Wed15Out and to the bus stop, to catch in back into Sherwood.

After a few minutes waiting and the bus travel back was dry. Tsk!

I had to sit on one of the side-saddle seats again. But no bother today, as Hippy Hilda and Arthur Itis were giving me a welcome breather this morning.

3Wed16Bad timing, though, I just missed the connection with the L9 bus. But, the rain was definitely getting less and less, turning back into the regular of late, on-off showers.

I walked up and over the hill and turned right into Woodthorpe Grange Park. A few dogs were walking their owners as I limped (The feet had got so soft with being marinated in rainwater, they were hurting now) up to the top and turned 3Wed17right onto the footpath that leads down the gravel footpath straight opposite the flat’s foyer doors.

I made another detour to avoid the muddy swamp at the top.

The tree copse still looked very sparse and thinly thicketed. I’m getting impatient to see it back in its full radiant glory.

3Wed18I carefully made my way down the path onto Chestnut Walk.

Then to the social hut, and explained to Obergruppenfurheress Deana that I will not be able to get to see Cathy as arranged. Adding about the state of my clothing and me needing a little attention and drying out. Haha!

I said I’d hope to speak with her in the morning at the Social Hour.

The rain had virtually stopped now, just the odd sprinkling coming down. Made my way back to the apartment.

I noticed the stolen fire extinguishers had not been returned to the foyer or lift lobby. Tsk!

First things first, a wee-wee. Then I did the Health Checks, some a little high. I put this down to the rain-soaked walking I’d done. Sys 169 – Dia 79 – Pulse 92 – Temp 32.2.

3Wed19I put the food away and got the crock-pot on to cook the pork shoulder slices on a low setting. Got oven warming for the potato to be baked later.

Had to get the Clothes Airer out to dry the jacket out. Kept turning it over and feeling for damp patches that needed attention.

Got the trousers off, and put them on the towel 3Wed20airer in the hall.

Then I got a wash and changed into the jammy bottoms.

The legs began to stiffen and give pain, then belatedly, Hippy Hilda joined in. Had a gargle with TCP to counter a sore throat that’s coming on. Then the shivers started, so I put on the dressing gown as well. The stabbing (Almost like electric shocks?) pains from the lower back thought they would play as well then!

3Wed21I nearly got caught by the workmen on the outside hoist, showing me wearing me PP’s when I went into the spare room to get my jammy bottoms. Despite all the hassle of these upgrading works, it does give us a laugh now and then!

Remembered to put the spud in the oven, checked the slow cooker, the meat and veg were nearly ready. So I threw it away and put some of the sliced seasoned potatoes in instead. I did this because the spud would not be cooked by the time the meat and veg were overcooked. I checked the drying jacket and trews, which were okay now, so I hung them up.

Then began to update this blog.

3Wed23Feeling a bit like I was about to come down with a cold, I took extra paracetamol with the evening medications.

I didn’t want to take any more extra codeine, as I think I’ve imbibed a couple of extra ones in the last few days. I know the acetaminophen is nowhere as effective as the Codeine Phosphate, but I don’t want to become addicted.

3Wed24I went to check on the food again and observed that the rain had stopped altogether now.

The view was so beautiful, and when I opened the window to take these shots with the new Lumix. I have to say that the petrichor was as pleasant a smell as I have ever had.

I then went to the WordPress Reader, to catch up on others works.

Just got a phone call from a bloke, asking if he can speak to someone I didn’t know. I told him nobody of that name lives here. He apologised and asked if I could supply the first line of the address to confirm. I said a firm ‘No!’ The bloke then said he will remove this number from the system???

I went on Facebooking. But the system only allowed me a few minutes before it started going dead slow, so I exited and got the nosh prepared.

3Wed221700hrs: Feeling a bit rough and weary now.

Got the nosh, and listened to Herbert upstairs banging and clanging away. Only a short session, mind.

I did take a picture of the nosh, but somehow this one was mysteriously and or supernaturally removed from the camera card and off into the ether, as well as many more have recently. After consultations, Tim and I agree, it must be the Woodthorpe Court Aliens or Ghosts. Hehe!

The shivers and cramps in hands and legs had a bash at me for a while. As soon as they ceased, I was off into the land of nod.

WDP001 Waking a couple of times coughing, slipping back into slumber, before having to exit the recliner for a wee-wee. Being half-asleep still, somehow I didn’t notice that the food tray was on my stomach as I rose. Had the wee-wee, then cleaned up the mess on the carpet and chair. Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 25th April 2018

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 25th April 2018

Dutch: Woensdag 25 April 2018

0350hrs: I woke and immediately became a touch dispirited when I realised that the ailments were back! Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, Arthur Itis and Little Inchies Fungal lesion had been bleeding. However, thanks to the PPs, this did not ruin another pair of jammie-bottoms. Although the leaking must have been on and off, cause there was a good mixture of fresh and congealed ichor that needed softening to remove. Tsk-Tsk!

Out of the £300 second-hand recliner without too much hassle, and off to the wet room to sort things out. Not a pleasant job, but it had to be done.

A degree of disconcertment, fretfulness, self-criticism and unwarranted (as far as I could see, anyway) nervousness lingered.

I confirmed the time of the blood-test, 1145hrs. Shame that cause afterwards it being so late for me, I won’t have time or energy to get owt else done.

3Wed03To the kitchen to get the Health Checks done.

This reminded me of the plates on the tray in the front room. So I collected them and got the washing up done first.

I turned the light off and took this picture; I have no idea why I did this… ah, I might have been trying to get a ‘Moody Photo’ using the light from the chaps above front room light.

Reflux Roger joined with Duodenal Donald in giving me a fair bit of hassle. My having been almost free of anguish from these two ailments for a few days now, seemed to make their return worse than they may have been.

Made a brew and got the HC’s done. Sys and pulse seem to be reluctant to stop falling?

3Wed01

Got the nibbles sorted and into the bag for the nurses. Then remembered to put the Haematology DVT Record in the jacket pocket, to avoid those frightening blood-curdling stares of contempt I get from them when I forget to fill it in and take it with me to the surgery. Hehehe!

The computer started, Virgin Internet was working (No, no, honestly, it was! Haha!), and I began to finalise yesterday’s Inchcock Today. With a few interruptions for a wee-wee.

3Wed05Started on creating this blog up to here, and went to have a wee-wee, then made a brew of tea and back to the computer:

3Wed00b1

I was placing the mug of tea on the pad next to the computer when I had a visit from Shaking Shaun! Just at the wrong moment.

What a mess I made.

3Wed04Panic Mode adopted. The telephone and keyboard had suffered most. The worst was the stains the tea made to the cabinet top wood.

The notepads got drenched, I’ll see if they can dry out any, and try to retrieve the passwords and reminder notes on it.

The time spent trying to sort it out, seemed to go by quickly?

I was now exasperated and irked by this happening. Selfish-thoughts ran through my mind; Why should it be me who gets these shakes? Why should I always get them at the most inappropriate times? etc…. Then, as if life was trying to mock me, I felt the blood flowing from the lesion! I assumed this was caused by my bending down to clean up the cabinet after the spillage, so, it should have been expected; and began feeling guilty about being momentarily sorry for myself. Even when Anne Gyna started to kick-off!

Off to the wet room and cleaned up and medicated things. Nebach!

Back to the computer again. Flipping heck, I’m sneezing away like a good un now. Humph!

I’m not feeling at all well now. Haha!

I went to the WordPress Reader page. Then the comments section.

Went to make another mug of tea. Then got the ablutions tended to. Black bags, I sorted and took to the waste chute.

3Wed06Off out on the hobble to Carrington and the blood test.

Blimey, it was windy when I reached the end of Chestnut Walk.

All the same, I noticed how lovely the sky looked and turned to take a shot of the complex with the Warden/Social shed showing on the left.

Walking down Winchester Road hill, the wind seemed to get worse.

3Wed07As I reached the bottom and moved onto Mansfield Road, the heavens opened up and down came the rain. With the wind, it nearly blew my umbrella inside out.

As sudden as the rain started, it then stopped about two minutes later?

I pressed on up the slow incline with Anne Gyna being troublesome for the first time in days, now.

3Wed08When I got over the crest of the hill, the sunshine came out, and the winds seemed to slacken off.

This little Nikon camera is not as good as the Lumix that has broken down on me, and it is too small to get a good grip on to take decent steady shots. Never mind!

I hobbled down to the Sherrington Surgery, got in and reported to the Obergruppenfurheress Receptionist, who mentioned that I was later than usual. I explained that this was the time given me in the email, and I was not 3Wed10too pleased with it either, the day for me will over and done in a couple of hours now. She seemed genuinely concerned and said she would leave a note for the others to remind them that I prefer an early-as-possible appointment. I thanked her and sat down to get the crossword book out. Had a bit of success with it this time, and actually got a couple of them finished. There are many crosswords part-finished in the book where I got stuck, and I give these another attempt regularly, it was two of these that needed only two more answers each that I did. (Smug-Mode adopted. Hehe!)

Nurse Nichole came out to collect me. My heart warmed when I realised it was she who was seeing to me. We had problems with stopping the bleeding afterwards, more than we have ever had. This indicated to me that the Warfarin level will be well-high when I get the results later in the morning.

We managed to have a laugh and tell a tale or two all the same. Nurse Nichole had to put on a lot of plaster on the arm afterwards. Gave her the nibbles, a sad farewell and I dropped the bites off for the receptionists on the way out.

I departed and walked down to the Lidl Concentration Camp to get some tomatoes. I spotted they had some ready meals, Sweet & Sour Pork in Sauce with egg fried rice, and bought one, thinking they will make a nice change. I flicked through the flavours on offer to get one with the most extended date on it. Along with a Melton Mowbray pork pie, I made my way to the self-serve tills. Where, instead of being ignored and sneered at as I usually am, a young assistant approached me and offered to put the things through for me! This action didn’t exactly make me frailech, but it shook me up a bit. Obviously, a new starter with Lidl. I imagine that in a week or so, he will have learnt and would be using the regular Lidl staffs, nose-in-the-air attitude, scowling, sneering and ignoring customers to his heart’s content. It can’t last. But a shrewd move, cause I just have to go back again soon, to see if he’ll offer customer service to me next time. For the regular staff at this shop: Customer service is the process of helping people find what they want during the entire transaction cycle. Making customers feel valued. Customer service is the degree to which a product fails to meet, meets or exceeds customer’s expectations. It defines the customer’s perception of the service and interaction within the company. It is evident that Lidl does not explain this, I wonder if they even mention it?

Out and caught a bus back to Sherwood. At the L9 bus stop, I met Margaret from Winchester Court. Her hubby was not so well today, a grand chap too. IF he can get to the Social Hour tomorrow, I’ll try to give him a bit of extra chatter and nibbles, which he gives to his grandkids. They have cancelled their holidays and struggling to get a fair refund. We nattered away en route to the flats.

3Wed113Wed00b1 I got in the apartment and did the Health Checks.

The rain cameth down again.

And I then realised that somehow or other, I had not taken the morning doses of the medications! (Possibly due to the return of the morning ailments?) Oy Vey! This cock-up, caused me some concern, as it forced me to make a decision. Haha! What medications are safe to take, what must not be considered? Luckily it did not involve any Warfarin, the yare only taken with the (third) evenings dosages.

The  Trental tablets are in all three, daily. And invaluable they are in helping the blood flow to the extremities. When they increased the dosages of this pink tablet, I seemed to get about on my walks with less bother. I looked up about these: Pentoxifylline can decrease the muscle aching/pains/cramps during exercise, including walking; They were spot on there, with me at least. I’m waffling again aren’t I, sorry. After thinking about it, I just took one of each of the following; naproxen, Bisoprolol Fumarate, Codeine 30g and an Omeprazole. No idea if I did right or wrong. Fingers crossed.

3Wed15I noticed on the record card log notes that the doctors considered a different beta-blocker for me some years ago. No name is given to it that I could find. Anyway, this prompted me to look up the side-effects of Bisoprolol Fumarate. Tiredness, drowsiness, slow heartbeat, lightheadedness, dizziness, spinning sensation, dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, increased urination, runny or stuffy nose, ringing in your ears, weakness, sleep problems (insomnia), depression, anxiety, restless feeling, joint or muscle pain, itching or skin rash, loss of interest in sex, nausea or vomiting.

The last two on the list, are the only side effects I know I have not got. Most likely I have all the others. Well, that could explain a few of my ailments and odd variable Health Check readings from the sphygmomanometer! Hahaha! Hello, I’m off prevaricating again! Tsk!

3Wed143Wed00b1 I then decided to have a can of the bean and pork stew with the sweet and sour meal. I got the meal in the oven and tipped the casserole into the saucepan… then! It dawned on this feeble-brained Schmo, the ready-meal I’d bought was not sweet and sour pork, but black beans sauce and beef! Had to dish the original meal.

Ended up making a pan of bean stew, added 3Wed12asome pork and did some chips to go with it. Sorry about this photo, but the shakes came on.

3Wed00b1 I took off the covering that the Nurse put on the arm. Not a pretty sight.

I thought I could hear gurgling noises coming from somewhere, but where they were emanating from beat me.

I took me a long while to discover the source of the odd sound.

3Wed00b1Eventually, I realised I’d left the power on to the shower, and it was trying to force down water that was not there. Humph! Turned it off.

3Wed16Got the nosh served up. After all the Whoopsies in the process of making this dinner, I ended up with Polish Pork Knuckle in a bean stew with s few chips.

Absolutely gorgeous sweet and sour sauce added!

Rated this one a 9.4/10.

Washed the pots and settled in the £300 second-hand recliner, feeling certain I would soon nod-off. But Morpheus did not come. So I put on the TV, and still no kip!

In fact, I watched the moronic TV programmes for about three hours before I drifted off into slumber. How I wish I could do this when I wanted to!

Evening all, please, have a great day.

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 4th April 2018: A Strange Day

Wednesday 4th April 2018

Yiddish: 2018 מיטוואך 4 אפריל

0400hrs:  Up much later than usual, thanks to the Nottingham City Homes paying Willmott-Brown to do the upgrading work, and their sub-contractor plasterer bloke; Who left my flat in a terrible mess with dry and semi-made plaster over every carpet, cabinets, the windows and even on my furniture and walls. His kindly putting and leaving the curtains on top of the heater was not appreciated either. Nor was his wet plaster that had run down the inside and dried, stuck to it! – I’m still feeling uptight and discombobulated.

Jumping Jehoshaphat! Grenfell, to be repeated! Talk about showing contempt and disrespect! And this work, is taking place at a significant cost to make the flats a safer place to live in? It’s indeed given me much pain from Anne Gyna and Duodenal Donald. Not to mention the hassle, worry and dirtying the flat!

Sorry about that. But I’m still stewing inside at being treated so awfully like an old senile nobody who does not matter… Which is probably true anyway. (No, stop it, Inchcock! Things will not be put right with your whining and griping on…) Desist, you fool!

Only Duodenal Donald, with a bit of hassle from Hippy Hilda, was bothering me at this moment.

Once I had detached my klutzy body from the £300 second-hand recliner, I seemed to settle down a bit and felt a tad more in-line, nearly standard, and a smidge of optimism lingered. Not for much, mind. Hehe!

I got the Health Checks done. There is a bit of a change in the readings this time. Sys has dipped again, and the pulse had shot up to 94. I’m not sure if that is good or bad. But I felt okay physically. (Mentally is my problem – Thank you Nottingham City Homes, Willmot-Dixon and their plasterers of questionable quality… [Stop it”]).

3Wed01

3Wed02I’m on the last bottle of the ineffective Antacid Medicine. But, the prescriptions will be ready to collect on Friday, I should last out.

I made a brew and took the medications.

Then on the computer to begin finishing off the horrendous Tuesday diary. Thanks to Nottingham City Homes, Willmott-Dixon… (Stop it!)

Made sure of the appointment for the blood test. Made up the nibbles for the staff, got them in the bag. I remembered about getting the AA batteries, Carpet cleaner and Magnesium tablets made a note about this and put it in my pocket. By Jimminee, I’m almost getting organised here… better be careful. Haha!

Back to the WordPressing. Had to stop, or I would not be able to get the ablutions done in time to get to the doctors in time for the blood test. So, I went off for a scrub-up. Guess what I found? Plaster in the WC bowl and on the floor! (Thanks to Nottingham City Homes, Willmott-Brown and the plasterer… Whoops, Sorry!)

Collated everything needed and got to the door to go out.

3Wed03

I could have started crying when I spotted the state of the carpeting, even after all my best efforts and injuries obtained while applying them to try an clean it up. And failing.

3Wed04I forced myself to ignore this, as best I could. Went out into the flats entrance hall, and turned back to lock the door.

Feh! I even spotted some bits of plaster that had been splashed on the outer door! Hamana hamana! What next?

I went down in the lift. I could hear workmen drilling on the 8th and 4th floor I think.

3Wed05When I exited the elevator, the electronic information sign indicated it was 0756hrs, the 4th April 2018, 5°c and drizzling outside.

Oh, and we should all pay our rent first.

I pondered for a few seconds on this point, regarding the unwanted changes being done over the past seven months, with many more months of work yet to come. The Nottingham City Homes and contractors Willmott-Brown, have cost me a lot of hassle, money and pain.

  • The wrongly positions Kitchen heater, having to be moved so I could open the drawer and cupboard will cost me getting someone in to redo or repair the holes left in floor and plaster the holes in the wall underneath the windows.
  • Getting someone to clean or even buying new carpets that have been extirpated by the plasterer yesterday!
  • The hassle of Willmott-Brown changing every single appointment for work they have done cost me medical dates and periods of ill-health, and Whoopsiedangleplops.
  • New curtains to replace the ones left on top of the radiator yesterday.
  • The electricity bill, nearly doubling since the installation of the new radiators!
  • The dust and grit got into the computer, stove and… I’ll stop here, I regret having gotten carried away again – Apologies for waffling still!

3Wed06Out into the drizzle, and wound my way through the maze of barriers and scaffolding to the Glass Recycling Bin.

Which was overfilled and boxes of bottles and jars laid beside it. Deposited my bottles of empty Antacid medicine and Balsamic vinegar amongst them Dry Gin, London Gin, various Wines, Guinness, Port, Champagne, Brandy, Vodka, Whisky, Tequila, Rum, Cognac, Lager, Cider and even an Absinthe one! Pretty good for a five-day period? Alcofrolics of the world, eat your hearts out! Hehehe!

3Wed07I was already limping a bit with the plates-of-meat, and Hippy Hilda began to play up a bit. Got to the Obergruppenfhuress Warden HQ, all locked up of course at this time.

I took this photograph, looking back at the flats and showing the hut on the left.

The drizzle was very light.

3Wed08A little further on Chestnut Walk, I heard the cooing and spotted this chap on top of the trees. He was giving out his Wood Pigeon warble, that said loud and clearly: Come on girls, I’m free! Hehe!

Onwards I hobbled to the end of the road and turned right down Winchester Street Hill. As I said earlier, carefully.

3Wed09Not far down, I took this picture. A rare and precious one, too. It is not often if ever, I have walked down this hill and seen only one car on the roadway!

I gently carefully and slowly made my way down  Winchester Steet, left into Mansfield Street, right into Marshall Street and left onto Mansfield Road going up the hill towards Carrington.

Near the butcher’s shop and Chinese Takeaway, two pieces of Nottingham Street Art presented themselves on my path, that needed circumventing, for obvious reasons. Haha!

3Wed10

I continued up the incline, but I stopped a few times to let Anne Gyna and Hippy Hilda have a breather. Over the crest and down to the Sherrington Park Medical Centre easily enough, downhill is far more comfortable for us old ones, you know. Hehe!

3Wed10aIt started to rain as I was going through the outer entrance door.

Another new receptionist was on the desk, both this lady and the other one at the back were on the phones. I waited patiently, after all, I was very early arriving.

Gave the lady my name and told her I was in for a blood test. She said she couldn’t find me on the computer system. That’s nice. She asked my date of birth, which I gave her. After a minute or so, she found me and asked what I had come in for. I repeated what I told her on entering the place; A Blood Test. She looked little severe and said, You are early (As if it was a crime!), take a seat, please. So, I did.

Had some difficulty getting into the low chair, what with Hippy Hilda doing her best to escape from her retaining acetabulum every time I try to bend down. Bless her!

I got the crossword book out, but it was a miserable session, with few clues getting answers from me. Five minutes later, I got a gentle yet authoritative poke on my shoulder, from Nurse Ann! Apparently, she had been calling me from the other end of the room, and I did not hear her. So she came over to let me know. The expression on her face forced through a false semi-smile, and she rushed me, still with the rare little-practised smile on her face (Very unnerving!) into her treatment room. This, along with the mayhem and debasement I am suffering. At the hands of those doing the upgrading works reminded me of part of Joseph Goebbels speech given on Hitler’s 56th Birthday. “All forces of hate and destruction have been gathered once again, perhaps for the final time, in the west, the east, the southeast, and the south, seeking to break through our front.” Hahaha!

She reminded me that she only had 8 minutes per patient to get the blood taken, so had no time for gossiping. (Had I been of a braver disposition, I’d have mentioned to her, that it was still ten minutes before the appointment for this blood session begins! But, my being a chicken-hearted, gutless, namby-pamby, invertebrate, I said nothing. She took the blood and found time to smile at me again and to say a few words. I gave her the Easter Egg and departed. Handing in the nibbles for the other staff at the reception. Said my farewells and set off on the walk back into Sherwood.

3Wed11The bush in the posh house on Mansfield Road in Carrington was now beginning to bloom. And the beautiful pinkish flowers were radiant.

I pressed on ASAP up the hill and down then up again along Mansfield Road into Sherwood.

I called in the Wilko store to have a look for some Magnesium tablets. A lad kindly asked me what I was searching the shelves to find. I informed him, and he went to ask his Supervisor She returned to tell me they do not do them anymore, no one was buying them. I pointed out that I had been purchasing three tubs a month. This statement was not answered. She informed me that I could get Magnesium with vitamin B6 added to them. (I think this was the same as what I was told yesterday in their Broad Marsh, store) The old confusion kicked in here when Dizzy Dennis visited me. I ended up buying some. But don’t think I should use them after all until I get the all-clear from the nurse or Doctor. Tsk! I then went off a mammoth spending spree, thanks to Willmott-Brown and… Sorry. I spent a fortune on stuff to get the carpets cleaned. Vanish Gold, Dettol spray disinfectant, a scrubbing brush, the tablets, some AA batteries, cistern blocks… £41.75. But with the Special Offers, it came down to £32. Savings being made, on the Dettol spray, Vanish Foam and the AA batteries.

3Wed12I struggled with the weight of the bags, out onto Mansfield Road. The rain had stopped altogether.

I took a photograph of the now busier traffic. Much to the disapproval of the Herbert in the red hat?

I wandered up the road, with about fifteen minutes before the L9 bus was due. At the bus stop, was a lady from Woodthorpe Court. She was reading a ladies magazine and did not want to have a chinwag. Roy joined the queue and got on a direct City bound bus.

On the L9  managed a bit of gossip with the gal and some other passengers, for the few stops we travelled before arriving at Chestnut Walk.

We got to the apartments and up the lift. The lady getting off on the fourth floor.

When I saw all the stains on the carpets, all the misery returned.

I did the Health Checks, then put the gear away and had a wee-wee.

5Fri001I looked at the Magnesium with Vitamin B+ tablets.

Blimus! They were big! Much more massive than the Trental ones, and sometimes take on getting down. I could not decide whether to take them or not. Next time I go out, I’ll have a look to see if Boots or Holland & Barrets sell the plain ones. I might have to risk these if none of the straight magnesium ones is available.

They do help keep the night cramps down a bit, I think. Sandie Lentz recommended me using these, and they do work. Thanks, Sandie ♥.

1300hrs: I got the computer on to update this blog.

3Wed12a1545hrs: Got it done up to here, and got the meal in the oven. I hope I can eat more than yesterday.

At least, BBJ’s noise from above stopped me falling to sleep and letting the fodder burn.

The ready meal was an Asda-Walmart Lasagne Al Forno. Never heard of these, but the picture on the outer wrapping looked good. IT said on the back of the sleeve, it was finished with Pecorino cheese. Never heard of that either. I looked it up on the web; “Pecorino is a family of hard Italian cheeses made from ewe’s milk. The word derives from Italian Pecora meaning sheep”.

I made some stuffing to go with it, but it didn’t turn out well and only ate a small bit of that. Last of the beef chunks were alright. The Chinese seaweed was okay, too, as were the sliced tomatoes and extra cheddar cheese I put on top of the meal. Overall, an 8/10 for content. Hehe!

A little late again in getting the head down, and surprisingly I struggled to get to sleep. I put on the Munich film to watch, and was soon off in the land of Nod, the dream-filled world of respite from reality.

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 14th March 2018: Warfarin INR Blood Test – Nurse Nichole on Duty, Nice!

Wednesday 14th March 2018

Greek: Τετάρτη 14 Μαρτίου 2018

0005hrs: I stirred in the £300 second-hand recliner and waited for the grey-cells to join me

Saw the blood test reminder note on the computer screen. Forced my ever increasing body-mass from the chair, and off for a Porcelain Throne session. A Trotsky affected evacuation again. Messy and needed a lot of cleaning up afterwards

Took the medications and did the Health Checks. The Sys and Weight are both too high methinks?

Got the computer on, there was a lot of work needed on the Tuesday post to do to finish it off. Mainly due to the fact of my missing the L9 bus back from Arnold yesterday, and being so tired, I did no work on it when I got home. Huh!

0400hrs by the time I got it completed and posted off. Then I started on this one up to here.

Two comments to reply to on WordPress, which I did. Then visited the WordPress Reader to catch-up on any I’ve missed.

I moved sharpishly onto Facebooking. The computer and internet were both going okay today. I hope this lasts.

Watched a forty-minute video of the Titanic and the fire down burning below when it set sail.

Another Nottingham City Homes letter from Angela Gould, our Housing Patch Manager this time. About the importance of a Fire Inspection/Procedure visit for Thursday twixt 11am and 1300hrs.

Not good this!

As I already have four appointments for Thursday on the calendar! Morrisons, Community Hour assemblage, Fire Instruction Meeting and GUM clinic Assessment.

Sorted and took the black bins to the waste chute.

Ablutions sorted out, new PPs on, the extra Germoloid cream applied. Got dressed up nice and warm. Collected the nibbles for the Sherrington Park Surgery staff. And set out on my hobble to Carrington and the Doctors surgery.

As I poddled along Chestnut Walk, I met with Obergruppenfurhress Warden Deans as she was arriving for work. Exchanged good mornings and I explained to her about the Fire Procedure meeting with Angela. Deana said not to worry, she would sort it out for me. I don’t know how these Obergruppenfurheresses manage.

She is very bust today, she has to go another complex to look after the residents somewhere, as cover for their absent staff. I thanked her muchly, and continued on my somewhat painful (due to Arthur Itis), walk to Carrington. Plodded down Winchester Street to the bottom and turned left onto Mansfield Road.

Up to the top of the hill and down into Carrington.

The junction of Devon Drive and Mansfield Road at this time of day, with the traffic being heavy, often offers an accident or near collision for me to see. No crashes as it happens this morning.

But I reckon, judging by the squeal of brakes and papping of horns, that the white van man came close as he pulled out through standing traffic.

I took another photo of the bush in the posh house’s garden. To show someone who might be able to identify for me later.

I got to the surgery with plenty of time to spare. Registered with the receptionists and got seated and doing the crossword book for about ten minutes or so, before the nurse called me in; and guess what… It was Nurse Nichole on duty!

She managed to make time for gossip and a few laughs while she did the blood taking. She even told me that the bush flowers I was trying to identify, were Peonys. It was grand having someone who seemed to care to look after me this morning. I gave her some nibbles with my farewells and handed the receptionist some as I left the building, whistling and content!

I was feeling so chirpy, I decided to walk back to Sherwood as well.

The traffic had cleared after the rush hour, and I took my time ambling along Mansfield Road. I called into the Boots Chemist to get some more Germoloid cream, as the one I got from Arnold was getting low. This one cost much more than the other one but was twice the size. I met the Geordie-lass from the flats in the shop.

Lovely woman. We had a natter and laugh. I was going to walk back up Winchester Street, because my timing was well out, and the next L9 was not due for 50 minutes yet.

She suggested I walk up the catch the 90 bus. Which for some reason I had not thought of doing, bless her Cotton Socks.

So I did that. Only had ten minutes to wait for it once I’d got to the bus shelter. No signs of any other tenants in the vicinity, surprisingly enough.

Dropped off three stops later high up of Winchester Street, and walked up onto Chestnut Walk.

When I approached my Woodthorpe Court block of flats, I could see that the hoist was on my floor, the twelfth, with some busy looking workers grafting away.

Af I entered the flats, my neighbour Doris (I think) was there doing her laundry. She warned me to expect a lot of noise when I get in, the workers were putting in her windows. And, do you know, she was spot-on right! Hehe!

We had a chinwag session, and I made my way up in the lift.

When I got in, I felt all lost and confused for a moment or two.

I put this down to my going out and not coming back, having bought no comestibles that were unneeded or wanted. A rarity. Haha!

The drilling and knocking were terribly loud, grating and persistent. But expected. The longer it went on, the less I noticed it.

I took these shot from the kitchen window. On the hoist was some windows were taken out and others waiting to go in, at Joyce’s flat. Ah, that’s it. Joyce, not Doris!

I Surprised myself there.

At least there was no raining today for the workers.

I got the oven on to warm it ready for later. I planned to have the lamb Mousaka with extra cheese, and some tomatoes added on top of it. Potato cakes, and a handful of chips. Sliced apple too, methinks.

I did the Health Checks and took the medications. Got the fodder in the oven.

Got the computer on to update this diary. It took a few hours, as I’d made a few photos that needed prepping first.

Did the last Health checks early, as I was feeling mentally exhausted a lot earlier than I usually do.

The moussaka had a lot of aubergines in it, and I do love them, but they are on the restricted foods list because they are so high in Vitamin K. (I think that is the reason the cardiac team put this on the list). Bt with the Warfarin INR level going down sharply, I guess I should get away with my indulging myself this once. (I hope). The ready-made meal was warming plentiful and tasty. The potato cakes were excellent. The rest, average.

I watched a Jonathan Creek episode on DVD, then turned to the television. Then fell asleep. The phone rang and amazingly woke me up, how I heard it without my hearing aids in surprised me. IT was Jenny from the 14th floor. She had lost her internet connections. I was half-asleep, but I think I made the banal question of “Have you done the turning-off, unplugging, wait five minutes and reconnecting the router box?” OG course she had done so without any luck. I wished her the best of luck. She is unfortunately on Liberty Global-Virgin Media as I am. I wished I was more awake, I should have asked her if she had rung 150 on her Virgin landline.

I got back in the £300 second-hand recliner. The TV still on from when I fell asleep, and ‘Hustle’ just about to start. But I drifted off again before it started.

I woke later, turned off the TV and was in the process of removing my cumbersome, ungainly, wobbly body-mass from the recliner, to go for a wee-wee, when the phone rang again. It was the DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) Anticoagulation clinic with the INR test results. It was hard to hear what she was saying, but I think she gave me the dosages for the next seven days, like this: Wed, Thur and Friday 2 tablets, the rest of the days 1.5 tablets. The INR level has come down to 2.5 from last weeks 4.4, so that’s good. Well, this is what I found scribbled on my phone notepad in the morning.

I had the wee-wee, washed my hands and placed the pots to soak in the sink.

Just as I was returning to the £300 second-hand recliner, the phone light flashed again. By gum, I was popular tonight. It was from someone wanting to deliver a pizza, He told me he’s outside the house now but could not get an answer to his knocking on the door! I inquired as to where he was. He said in Calverton (6.1 miles away) outside my house. I bluntly told him he’d got the wrong number and asked him to remove it from his phone.

Got my head down again, but the night was filled with waking so often. Tsk!
