0005hrs: I stirred in the £300 second-hand recliner and waited for the grey-cells to
join me
Saw the blood test reminder note on the computer screen. Forced my ever increasing body-mass from the chair, and off for a Porcelain Throne session. A Trotsky affected evacuation again. Messy and needed a lot of cleaning up afterwards
Took the medications and did the Health Checks. The Sys and Weight are both too high methinks?

Got the computer on, there was a lot of work needed on the Tuesday post to do to finish it off. Mainly due to the fact of my missing the L9 bus back from Arnold yesterday, and being so tired, I did no work on it when I got home. Huh!
0400hrs by the time I got it completed and posted off. Then I started on this one up to here.
Two comments to reply to on WordPress, which I did. Then visited the WordPress Reader to catch-up on any I’ve missed.
I moved sharpishly onto Facebooking. The computer and internet were both going okay today. I hope this lasts.
Watched a forty-minute video of the Titanic and the fire down burning below when it set sail.
Another Nottingham City Homes letter from Angela Gould, our Housing Patch Manager this time. About the importance of a Fire Inspection/Procedure visit for Thursday twixt 11am and 1300hrs.
Not good this!
As I already have four appointments for Thursday on the calendar! Morrisons, Community Hour assemblage, Fire Instruction Meeting and GUM clinic Assessment.
Sorted and took the black bins to the waste chute.
Ablutions sorted out, new PPs on, the extra Germoloid cream applied. Got dressed up nice and warm. Collected the nibbles for the Sherrington Park Surgery staff. And set out on my hobble to Carrington and the Doctors surgery.
As I poddled along Chestnut Walk, I met with Obergruppenfurhress Warden Deans as she was arriving for work. Exchanged good mornings and I explained to her about the Fire Procedure meeting with Angela. Deana said not to worry, she would sort it out for me. I don’t know how these Obergruppenfurheresses manage.
She is very bust today, she has to go another complex to look after the residents somewhere, as cover for their absent staff. I thanked her muchly, and continued on my somewhat painful (due to Arthur Itis), walk to Carrington. Plodded down Winchester Street to the bottom and turned left onto Mansfield Road.
Up to the top of the hill and down into Carrington.
The junction of Devon Drive and Mansfield Road at this time of day, with the traffic being heavy, often offers an accident or near collision for me to see. No crashes as it happens this morning.
But I reckon, judging by the squeal of brakes and papping of horns, that the white van man came close as he pulled out through standing traffic.
I took another photo of the bush in the posh house’s garden. To show someone who might be able to identify for me later.
I got to the surgery with plenty of time to spare. Registered with the receptionists and got seated and doing the crossword book for about ten minutes or so, before the nurse called me in; and guess what… It was Nurse Nichole on duty!

She managed to make time for gossip and a few laughs while she did the blood taking. She even told me that the bush flowers I was trying to identify, were Peonys. It was grand having someone who seemed to care to look after me this morning. I gave her some nibbles with my farewells and handed the receptionist some as I left the building, whistling and content!
I was feeling so chirpy, I decided to walk back to Sherwood as well.
The traffic had cleared after the rush hour, and I took my time ambling along Mansfield Road. I called into the Boots Chemist to get some more Germoloid cream, as the one I got from Arnold was getting low. This one cost much more than the other one but was twice the size. I met the Geordie-lass from the flats in the shop.
Lovely woman. We had
a natter and laugh. I was going to walk back up Winchester Street, because my timing was well out, and the next L9 was not due for 50 minutes yet.
She suggested I walk up the catch the 90 bus. Which for some reason I had not thought of doing, bless her Cotton Socks.
So I did that. Only had ten minutes to wait for it once I’d got to the bus shelter. No signs of any other tenants in the vicinity, surprisingly enough.
Dropped off three stops later high up of Winchester Street, and walked up onto Chestnut Walk.
When I approached my Woodthorpe Court block of flats, I could see that the hoist was on my floor, the twelfth, with some busy looking workers grafting away.
Af I entered the flats, my neighbour Doris (I think) was there doing her laundry. She warned me to expect a lot of noise when I get in, the workers were putting in her windows. And, do you know, she was spot-on right! Hehe!
We had a chinwag session, and I made my way up in the lift.
When I got in, I felt all lost and confused for a moment or two.
I put this down to my going out and not coming back, having bought no comestibles that were unneeded or wanted. A rarity. Haha!
The drilling and knocking were terribly loud, grating and persistent. But expected. The longer it went on, the less I noticed it.
I took these shot from the kitchen window. On the hoist was some windows were taken out and others waiting to go in, at Joyce’s flat. Ah, that’s it. Joyce, not Doris!
I Surprised myself there.
At least there was no raining today for the workers.
I got the oven on to warm it ready for later. I planned to have the lamb Mousaka with extra cheese, and some tomatoes added on top of it. Potato cakes, and a handful of chips. Sliced apple too, methinks.
I did the Health Checks and took the medications. Got the fodder in the oven.
Got the computer on to update this diary. It took a few hours, as I’d made a few photos that needed prepping first.
Did the last Health checks early, as I was feeling mentally exhausted a lot earlier than I usually do.
The moussaka had a lot of aubergines in it, and I do love them, but they are on the restricted foods list because they are so high in Vitamin K. (I think that is the reason the cardiac team put this on the list). Bt with the Warfarin INR level going down sharply, I guess I should get away with my indulging myself this once. (I hope). The ready-made meal was warming plentiful and tasty. The potato cakes were excellent. The rest, average.
I watched a Jonathan Creek episode on DVD, then turned to the television. Then fell asleep. The phone rang and amazingly woke me up, how I heard it without my hearing aids in surprised me. IT was Jenny from the 14th floor. She had lost her internet connections. I was half-asleep, but I think I made the banal question of “Have you done the turning-off, unplugging, wait five minutes and reconnecting the router box?” OG course she had done so without any luck. I wished her the best of luck. She is unfortunately on Liberty Global-Virgin Media as I am. I wished I was more awake, I should have asked her if she had rung 150 on her Virgin landline.
I got back in the £300 second-hand recliner. The TV still on from when I fell asleep, and ‘Hustle’ just about to start. But I drifted off again before it started.
I woke later, turned off the TV and was in the process of removing my cumbersome, ungainly, wobbly body-mass from the recliner, to go for a wee-wee, when the phone rang again. It was the DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) Anticoagulation clinic with the INR test results. It was hard to hear what she was saying, but I think she gave me the dosages for the next seven days, like this: Wed, Thur and Friday 2 tablets, the rest of the days 1.5 tablets. The INR level has come down to 2.5 from last weeks 4.4, so that’s good. Well, this is what I found scribbled on my phone notepad in the morning.
I had the wee-wee, washed my hands and placed the pots to soak in the sink.
Just as I was returning to the £300 second-hand recliner, the phone light flashed again. By gum, I was popular tonight. It was from someone wanting to deliver a pizza, He told me he’s outside the house now but could not get an answer to his knocking on the door! I inquired as to where he was. He said in Calverton (6.1 miles away) outside my house. I bluntly told him he’d got the wrong number and asked him to remove it from his phone.
Got my head down again, but the night was filled with waking so often. Tsk!

To the main room, and cleared up the crushed cheesy curl mess.
I made a grand tasting drink of Extra Strong English Breakfast tea, in the new second-hand mug.
Got in the lift and was greeted with dried mud on the floor. I hadn’t noticed that yesterday.
I departed and set off on my hobble into Sherwood, then Carrington to the surgery for my blood test and Harold Haemorrhoid examination.
Another gloomy day looked to be in the offing as I got part way down the Winchester Street Hill.
A little further down the hill, I saw the gates that I think come out at the end of the secret pathway from opposite the apartments.
Got onto Mansfield Road and turned left up to the incline.
Where amazingly, I remembered to look for the flowers in a garden that I promised Orbb, a friend on the internet, I’d take a photo of them if they were out.
Feeling elegiac, and dejectedly melancholy, I left the nibbles on the desk for the receptionists and departed.
Off the bus and morosely over the crossing and limped up over the hill and down to the Woodthorpe Grange Park gates.
The Copse cheered me a little, as I noticed some greenery coming through.
But I did enjoy the Asda ready made Minced Beef Hotpot.
But, the taste was delicious. I’ll have to eat more healthy noshes in between having these I suppose? Tsk!

Got the shakes and shivers this morning. I think this is due to the workers removing more cladding yesterday?
blood missed when I cleaned up earlier. Checked the bin in the front room had a black bag in it. Computer off, no alarms ringing or flashing, and then into the kitchen to look at the taps, cooker etc… and blow me down, I had three bins in there instead of two, and I’d missed taking a sealed bag that needed to be chuted as if to speak. Hehe! For a second I thought I must be losing it quicker than I realised. Had the Aliens been at it again? I went back in the front room and comprehended what had happened. I’d put a new refuse black-bag on the chair, and it had fallen where the bin would usually be, hence, fooling this old twit into thinking the container was there when it wasn’t! I didn’t explain that very clearly, did I? Sorry.
Set off, hobbling as fast as things would let me, to avoid my being late for the first appointment. On Chestnut Walk outside the apartments, the puddle near the builders compound was frozen solid. But I have to say, the new jacket was keeping me nice and warm. Mind you, I was moving at a fair rate of knots, for me.
I took this photo, he had just started to reverse into the traffic solid main road illegally!
Along and up and over the crest of the hill.
As the traffic started to move again, I arrived at the Surgery, straight in, with fifteen minutes to spare. Logged in with the receptionist, the one who has a perfect look of contempt on her face for me each time I go when she is on duty. She makes me want to apologise for bothering her. So compelling is her obviously trained look of unprovable haughtiness. I have to give her credit where its due. Personally, I think she ought to be dealing with the Brexit negotiations for us.

Up the hill and down into Sherwood, and up the incline and called into the new bakery, to see if they had any small sourdough bread or cobs on sale. They were… and I’m not joking, selling the bread 800g, at £5 each! I retreated!
Time to get the fodder served up.
Off to the kitchen to get the sphygmomanometer, thermometer, Enoxaparin hypodermic, creams, lotions and medications out to do the Health Checks and take the tablets.
Sorted the nibble bags out for hopefully, Nurse Nichole and the staff for when I have the blood test later today.
The flipping high winds blew it as I began to open the window and flung stuff all over the kitchen!
All went well with the purifications and decontaminationing. Hehe! Got the bag and paperwork sorted, and set off with the brolly, well wrapped up and the fur-lined hat that I bought last month that has ear covers. Of course, I won’t be able to hear anything, but it should be warm and keep the terrible wind out.
Set off out on the hobble to the Doctors surgery.
Further down the hill, I crossed the road while there was a gap in the traffic.
I kept limping along and got onto Mansfield Road and turned left to walk over the hill and down into Carrington.
I’d just over the crest of the hill and thought the view would make a half-decent moody-photo, perhaps. If I had taken it a few seconds later, I would have caught the estate type car hitting the back of the mini! Dang, just missed it. Never mind though.
and the traffic slowed down. I tried for another moody-photo effort. Which I’m sorry I did now.
Seconds later, a new to me nurse came to collect me to take my blood. Where was Nurse Nichole? She was a cute little thing, and very helpful. She told me she’ll see me early as I’d arrived now, then I can go on my way and get home quicker. A lovely thought, but it would not work because I can’t use my bus pass until 0930hrs, but still, it was kind of her. She took the blood and afterwards there was no leaking at all. She kindly warned me that the rain was like a storm now, as I left.
I gave the bag of nibbles to the receptionist and went to leave the premises.
On top of all this, I was still too early for me to use the bus-pass!
helicopter hovered above.
The next one stopped and climbed onboard to find only the raised seats free. Comical this, cause with me just going a few stops, by the time I got myself up and seated, it was time to get out of the seat to get off.
Woodthorpe Park route home.
. Got in and put the utterly superfluous fodder I’d bought away, and got the large potato cleaned and in the oven baking.
I made a super-strong large mug of tea, using a Yorkshire and /extra /string English Breakfast tea bags. Took the mediations and did the Health Checks. All okay.
The cheesy-baked potatoes were ready, as I went to get them out of the oven, the intercom phone chirped into life. It was the chap who initially installed the Fire Alarm strobe and Pillow.
Got the nosh sorted.

Had an excellent ablutionalisationing session. Apart from the Little Inchy fungal lesion was bleeding, so I applied some Dakacort cream. Getting low on this again now. Must try to remember to ask for some more on a prescription request form.
I sorted a black bag of rubbish, got the three jars to go to the recycling bin ad tool them out with me. Dropped the bag down the chute, cause it was now 0800hrs, and tool the bottles down with me and deposited them in the bin outside the foyer door.
The sun came out as I got further along the road. And, a few times throughout the day. But it was like politicians promises, no warmth and did nothing to warm up the voters! Hehe!
Haha! Brrr!
Right along Mansfield Road and up the slow incline. I noticed the Continental Shop was open and I decided to walk back from the surgery after the blood test and call in to have a nosey around, Hippy Hilda and Anne Gyna permitting of course.
0840hrs: The traffic going towards town started to back up.
As I neared the top of the hill, one of Nottingham’s infamous Pavement Cyclists shot by me from behind, between me and another pedestrian as she overtook me. Most annoying being made to jump like that, I can tell yer!
got a good head of steam going too.
Out and had a hobble back the way I came, made my way to the Continental shop in Sherwood.
Up the hill and into the Wilko store. More finances spent. £8.40 this time.
Where more Nottingham Street Art greeted me on the wire seats in the shelter. I must say that it all looked really fresh? A lady there humorously stated; “Maybe they got blew away in the wind while eating” Hehe!
This little monkey was spotted outside on noisy Herbert’s balcony. “Who are you looking at, mush” was the verbal message I received. Haha!
Irritable and tired, I got the nosh prepared. Not that it took much effort, nothing hot in it tonight. Polish belly pork and fresh bread sarnies, potato chips, tomatoes, beetroots, sliced apple, chestnuts, and Chinese mushrooms out of a jar. Fresh orange juice and a lemon curd yoghourt to follow. Have to give this one a 9.45/10 rating.
Got the kettle on.
Stuck my head out of the window to see what the weather was like.
Got the computer going and checked the weather forecast.
Although I didn’t realise it at the time, I waddled off down the road wondering what it might have been that he thought I had said, and forgot to drop the glass off at the bin.
I did notice that the external work to the balconies and windows was still on hold.
turned right down Winchester Street Hill.
There was a small squirrel on a low wall, who didn’t seem bothered when I got out the camera and zoomed in on him or her.
Up the slow gradient on Mansfield Road and over the crest, down towards Carrington.
As I approached the vehicle, a man came out of the garden, gave me a good stare, and got it and started the engine.
understand the sign language he used, though. Naughty!
cyclist.
I got to the surgery and went to register with the receptionist, who was busy on the phone.
A sad sight a few yards up the hill on my way to the Pelican lights.
Out and up the road, and called in the Card Shop, no, Card Warehouse it’s called.
Although it doesn’t show well in the photograph I took of it, but there came all at the same time, seven buses!
A lot of workers but not many tenants about as I walked to the foyer.

Assembled the laundry stuff, gathered the clothes and down to the launderette, to get the laundry started and have a look at the road conditions. Got the washing machine going, and nipped out into the cold to peruse Chestnut Walk.

The timer chirped into life, and I went down to investigate if the clothes had dried enough. No.2 lift was still noisy.
Had a sweep up of the bits of soap powder and things dropped on the floor. Not by me, of course!
Booked me in with the receptionist and got seated and the crossword book out. Amazingly, I started one that I’d got just two answers in before and got all but one clue filled in. A possible victory I thought… but maybe not, I do not have the slightest idea what Garlic Mayonnaise is? A_O_I?
Off the bus and into the Victoria Shopping Centre (Mall), where I forgot all about the security guards stopping me taking photos last month, Ahem!
Out into the bright but cold sunlight.

Up Queen Street and I was the sole passenger to get on the L9 bus when it arrived.
The short foot journey from the bus stop to the end of Chestnut Walk was not as hazardous as it was earlier, but much of the compacted snow and ice remained, and care had to be taken en route to the Woodthorpe Court flats and home.
Accifauxpa but avoided going over when I slipped.
Got in the flat and had a wee-wee. Got the purchases sorted. The fantastic Pork knuckles, only two of the three, were put in the fridge, the other one on a plate ready to become part of tonights, nosh.
could win a £100 HMV gift card.
Then noticed the beloved Copse outside. It still looked beautiful, but sad at the same time, perhaps?
The Polish Pork Knuckle was great! In fact, I enjoyed everything and gobbled it up slowly in the hope that I might not eat it all and lose weight. No chance!
I removed the tape from the arm vein, and I did the pots and settled to watch some more ‘Boon’ DVD episodes.

0127hrs: Noticed that the temperature in the kitchen was much higher this morning at 54°f.
I opened the window to take a view of the morning skyline without reflections from the glass.
It all looks much a sameness to me. Although, this morning the weight had gone over the 15St mark!
The meal framework for the new build flats was coming on.
I walked along Chestnut Way, and I felt a bit of compassion for the car owners. Hehehe!
Down onto Mansfield road, and right up and over the incline, and down into Carrington. Where a Nottingham Pavement Cyclist all but hit me.
I limped along in the centre to the end and down the escalator and foolishly had a look in the Thorntons shop and asked a lady if they had any chocolate nougat. “Yes,” she said. Fetched a cubed box and asked if I’d like it gift-wrapped, no charge for this. My mind was finding it hard to connect to voice box or logicality as she bent down, revealing
more than I could handle of her buxom cleavage, and came back up with a box already done. She added, while putting another box of chocolates on the counter, “You get these free when you buy the nougat selection”. She bent down again for some unknown reason as I got my card out to pay.
My attention was again distracted. I got the two boxes into the bag and made my way to the exit doors. I thought I’d better try to make sure the chocolates don’t get wet, so stopped under cover of the canopy to rearrange my bag. During which I came across the receipt for the nougat… £20!
ge anyway.
Crossed over the double-pelican lights on Maid Marion Way, and up Standard Hill. Stopping part way, to allow Anne Gyna to calm down.
enough to have to climb it on foot. The feet and knees started giving me bother shortly after this. Hehe!
I went on the web in the morning and found out that is was a Two-bedroomed flat, for sale at only £232,500.
Outside, the rain had stopped altogether now.
Across the road and down to the terminus.
f the Little John dome and clock as it arrived.
feet stinging!
I was glad not to see any workmen up on the platform hoists on the building in the rain.
A wagon delivering some machinery passed by us.
wee-wee. Another marathon session, but eventually it stopped. Haha!
0220hrs: Back to the flat. Lift One had gone down again.
Took the medications.
0540hrs: Whoopsiedangleplop there! Shot down, lift number one now working? Extracted the clothes and folded them into the bag. Cleaned the filter and casings. While I was doing this, I had a mini-Accifauxpa as the cloth slipped and I caught the knuckles on a sharp edge of the machine. Hey-ho!
Back in the flat, the lighting seemed to have gone all greenish? Earlier when I photographed the HC machine, it was kind of yellowish?
another cuppa, I spilt the milk on the floor.
Stored the stuff away. I had ordered 2 x 8 (240g) Birds Eye Fish Fingers on offer from £1.39 down to £1.
Then onto Facebooking.
Still not up to speed.
I’m putting some of the TFZers in scenes come photos I have taken of Nottingham.

He set up the Slarm strobe and Pillow Alert (Shaker) in short time.
Got the nosh ready.

anyway. Haha!
0400hrs: Made a start on this one. As I did so, I realised I could not hear the winds howling? I returned to open the window and have a look down outside.
I’d forgotten this needed doing, so I checked the paperwork from the Audio Clinic.

In the lift, the Alien Blob had transformed itself; I thought I could see something moving in the gel as it spread out?
Once I got down the hill a bit on the walk to the surgery, the wind was far less bothersome.
Sherringham Park Surgery in Carrington.
Pavement Cyclist came by me a little close for my liking.
and annoyance.
The horrid tomatoes. I’d soaked them in balsamic vinegar for hours, and this made them just about bearable to eat.
I turned on the TV and settled down to try and watch something or othere, drifted off almost immediately into a dream filled sleep.
