Inchcock Today: Tues 3rd February – Launderette Day

Tuesday 3rd February 2015

Managed to get some much needed kip in last night.

Bits of dreams remembered:

Underground rats, feral cats and nurses in Victorian uniforms… soldiers lying all over the place but they were in Werhmacht uniforms and every one looked like the other in their faces… Dusty Springfield was the Sister and Hattie Jacques the Matron – I was in a line of patients waiting to be tended to along with soldiers who were headless, missing limbs, burned all over, eyes missing and all very thin in tatty blood covered uniforms – I had a splinter in my little finger and wondered why I was there at all.

Eventually an electric powered coffin on wheels arrived and they all started looking for me… I hid in a sewer and found Aneurin Bevan in there and we started to play cards and I lost every hand and seemed glad about this…?

Up and made a cuppa and took me medications.

Started laptop and visited the porcelain to check on ‘things’ – Much blood removed from the rear end – Cleaned it up again.

CreamHPrep H cream applied to the rear tenderness area, Phorpain Gel applied to my knees feet and hands and the rumbling grumbling innards were no worse thankfully.

I must get the laundry gathered and thing ready to take to the launderette with me, yer know… powder tablets, dryer balls, softener, cash, book to read dried seaweed to nibble etc I thought… fell asleep!

Coreldraw unstable again.

Went down and got the nibbles ready for the nurses and gals

at the launderette.

Washed and abluted, got missen dressed properly like, made sure I’d got me shoes and not slippers on, the right spectacles on, Free pensioners bus-pass, INR and Clinic paperwork with me.

0202skyGot the two bags of washing and set off to the launderette… the sleet and snow came down as I was locking the front door behind me… the kids passing by being taken to school thought it was marvellous… I wasn’t too keen.

Still, by the time I’d got to the launderette it had turned to dizzly rain.

Big John was outside having a fag. We had a natter and got on with our washing.

John soon finished his and I had to ask Mandy how to use the new soap thingies I’d got – apparently you have to put the pouches in with the clothes in the drum. I knew that really I just wanted to talk to Mandy.

Eventually I got the togs cleaned and dried and hobbled back to the mausoleum. Put the togs away and set off to the bus-stop on Mansfield Road – a little too wet for a walk into town this morning and time was pressing to get to me appointments.

Limped down to the bus-stop. The bus was full and I opened a pack of roasted seaweed and nibbled at some – the curious looks I was getting told me people wanted to ask what it was I was eating, but nobody did.

Dropped off in town and called into the Poundland shop and they did have some cheapo Lion Bars in, so I grabbed 3 packs of 4 bars at obviously a quid each. Ans some bits to add to the nurses nibble bag, then over the road to catch another bus out to the Queens Medical Centre.

Another conversation with a passenger ensued:

Inchcock:

Lady:

Inchcock: ‘Good morning’

Lady: ‘ I beg your pardon?’

Inchcock: ‘ Good morning!’

Lady: ‘Why is it?’

Inchcock: ‘Well I meant, are you having a good morning’

Lady: ‘ No… but you’ve cheered me up a bit asking me!’

Inchcock: ‘My pleasure!’

Lady: ‘I’m getting off the bus now… shame!”

With that she waddled off at the next stop – Confused a bit there I wus!

0203qmc1With that she waddled off at the next stop – Confused a bit there I wus!Dropped off at the QMC and as I was walking towards the entrance I glanced over the railings to the lower floor and saw two vehicles parked on the tatty yellow No Parking lines , next to a pedestrian crossing and the Emergency Ambulance entrance on – Naughty!

Still maybe with the shortage of parking spaces they might have let them off?

0203qmc2I got into the haematology – very very busy and was eventually seen to and gave the gals their nibbles, but they had no time to talk today – blimey never seen so many folk there.

Walked a different way back out and got lost for a while, but soon got me bearings again. It’s well sign posting there.

0204GUMCaught the free hospital to hospital bus to the Nottingham City Hospital and the G.U.M. Clinic – having remembered to take me daily swabs of blood with me. Superior mode adopted here

I had gloved hands where no man should have them poked – samples taken and instructed to ‘Carry on as I have been doing’ the results are expected in 7 days and I will be contacted then.

0206bulbusI thanked them, and uncomfortably waddled out and caught the bus into Bulwell.

The rain had almost stopped now.

I wandered over to the river Leen to see if the Mallard ducks were about and they were.

0205BulpSo I went into a shop and bought some bread for them and returned to the river bank and fed the little mites – I love seeing them squabble and contest for the food, and for some reason their quacking doesn’t annoy me at all I like the sound of them.

Then I fed the pigeons some seed and earthworms before walking over to the Bulwell Market Place.

0207MS01The danger was the Mobility Scooter mad drivers… and many of them today there was as well!

One was having beer brought out to him on his Mobility Scooter outside the pub – and sounded very 0207MS02verbal… it really should not be allowed drink driving whatever the vehicle surely? I suppose he might have been a bit tipsy?

Another, a woman who might I think might have been suffering from Tourette’s Syndrome, she was not arguing with the market people at all, but won’t half using some choice vocabulary with ’em.

Then the big bloke with the bobble hat was much interested in going where he wanted as fast as he could and sod anyone in his way!

All a danger to pedestrians especially the less nimble ones… like wot I am…hehehe!

I poddled into Fultons Food store and had a look see if they had any of me favourite backcurrant/ice cream suckers in… but no. I’m getting withdrawal symptoms I think?

They did have some pots of buttery instant mash in, about the size of a Pot Noodle at 30p each, so I had to get some to try them like.

0208cycleWhen I came out of the shop two young gits on a push-bikes nearly had me – like lightning I got me camera out and shouted at them – well they were in a pedestrianised area… what one of them shouted back hangs between men’s legs! The other added a word that rhymes with Tanker!

I woddled to the bus-station and caught one back to Carrington – I know I’ve said this before and I suppose I will again, often – but I do so appreciate the free pensioners bus-pass!

0207MS03Read the weather forecast for Nottingham on the bus for Thursday – the only day Sister Jane and Pete can accommodate a visit from me:

“Rain Storms!”

Am I just lucky or what?

0209CarringI dropped off the bus on Hucknall Road and thought how beautiful the sky was – so took a photograph of it from the hill top – which on reflection was not a good idea.

Why you ask? (I hope)

Because when I turned away after taking it, a… nearly swore badly there, A git on the pavement on his bike came so close to hitting me I felt the draught!

But luckily these things don’t bother me like…

WWarnLie

0210SherbRdSo onward back to Flea-pit, and as I was walking down my street I took a photograph of the Mount Beulah Apostolic Church – I see it seems to have light spots on it? Wonder wot went wrong there?

I hope the camera isn’t playing up. I’ll take another photo now and see how it 0207MS04turns out… hang on…

Mmm. no white spots of lights this time – but a bit shadowy?

Oh dear…

I keep catching this bloody touch-pad and all sorts of things keep happening on screen, Tsk!

Anyroad I got int’ house and attended the porcelain room urgently – no blood, but well sore in the rear department.

Made a cuppa and started this Diary.

Brewed another mug of tea and took me medications – then the search began for me mobile phone.

Found it eventually in the pyjama pocket I was wearing… I know… sad.

Had a pot of potatoes and a beef pasty for nosh, followed my two mousses and later a Lion bar.

Took ages to get to kip again…

Inchcock Today: Monday 29th December 2014

Monday 29th December 2014

Up at 0015hrs.

WC.

When I kept waking up before I actually got up – I recall telling myself several times to remember the dreams, but didn’t write anything down on me pad. So nothing at all is left of the dreams in my mind this morning.

Bother!

Went down and made a cuppa then returned to get the laptop going to do me posts for ‘The League of Mental Men’ and start this diary.

01M02After a few hours when I was creating the Letter to LOMM post – the damned vacillating, fly-by-night, untrustworthy conning BT Internet went down again – lost the lot and had to redo it all.

May BT rot in hell and their top boss Chief executive Gavin Patterson who will be able to earn a maximum of £7m a year in the top job under a revamped pay policy at the telecoms company die a slow painful death with customers present and having a bloody good cheer and laugh! – Nothing personal like, just venting my frustration you see. I wouldn’t like to see the pompous silver-spoon fed chap die slowly over two days really… over five days perhaps! Bitter? Me? Gits!

Up and down resetting the hub repeatedly, closing internet down and opening, turning off and resetting the laptop for a second time seemed to get it back on. Grrrr!

01M02aMade another cuppa and created some very pretty tea stain patterns on the stair carpet and me dressing gown on me way back up em. My fingers were sticking a bit this morning, damnable Arthur Itis again.

Biggest fret bothering me now is if I’ll be able to get to the bus stop safely to get into town (Where I hope the ice on the pavements will have been treated) to get me glasses from the opticians and bus to the hospital for me INR Warfarin level tests.

WC.

Cuppa and took me medications. Angina not bad at all, piles hurting but not bleeding, Arthritis hands and knees I must say are not good, ulcer no bother and the turmoil for me innards seems to be easing nicely.

Got myself abluted – struggled a bit with taking the socks off and clean ones on, always thinking about the ice that I’ve got to walk on later.

WC’d. Stomach rumbling a bit…

Set out very gingerly into the Arctic looking street and perambulated my worn knees and overweight body along with the bags down to the end of the street. As I turned right that bit of road and pavement was worse than the one I’d just come off of!

Felt a right fool creeping along nervously trying to avoid the worst of the ice – took me yonks to get to the cut-through to Mansfield Road, and that was a bit dodgy as well.

Even Mansfield Road’s pavements were still dangerous to walk on for an old twit like wot I am.

I got to the bus-stop and as one pulled up I suddenly realised it might not be 0930hrs yet for me to use me bus-pass? The kind driver told me and the lady behind me were a little early, but we can take a seat if we swipe our bus-passes as we get off the bus. That was nice of him. Thank you Sir!

So we did.

Swiped the bus-pass and got off and went into Tesco in Victoria Centre… my weakness for their fresh cream French Horns had taken me over again. Tsk! Of course I got a four cake box mix for the nurses at the Haematology department and told myself that was why I went into Tesco.

Hardly any snow in the City Centre.

01M02bThen popped into the cheapo shop and got 4 more Lion bars at 4 for a quid. (Another weakness but hey-ho!).

Then off to catch the Y36 bus to the Queens Medical Centre for my INR blood tests. Another good chappy driver, a rarity for that bus company, very smooth ride. Thank him too!

01M04When I got to the entrance of the hospital the ice again became a problem that needed careful thought and manoeuvring like. Not many people about.

I got in and took me ticket and joined the waiting queue.

Got me Operation Sea-Lion book out and read some of it.

As my number came closer to being called I thought I’d get me Anticoagulation form out and fill it in… but could I find it? I’d got me Opticians letter…

My number was called and I went in and told the nurse that I could not find me form but was sure I picked it up… A loud (probably the loudest I’ve ever heard) Tut, and I could see the look on her face meant she was not going to phone them up on the 4th floor for me – so I tended ‘I’ll go up the Anticoagulation and get a copy shall I?’ ‘You’d better!’

I gave them their nibbles and treats to make the bag lighter on me way up to get a copy of me record.

The lifts had massive queues so I walked up the stairs to the clinic (Painfully).

I think the lady on reception is getting used to my forgetting or losing me record card. She gave me a look of resignation along with her well perfected ‘Silly old sod’ stare and got me a copy straight away bless her.

I limped down back to the haematology and they took me blood and I was off back outside. In the hour and a half I was in the hospital, the snow had actually started to thaw… just a tad mind.

Caught a bus back into town and made me way to the opticians. Got me googles fitted and walked up to the NHS Audiology Centre on the Ropewalk for me hearing-aid batteries – it was closed.

So I walked down to Specsavers (All this walking carrying me bags should be getting me fit… or something) where I got some for £2.99 a pack two years ago when the same thing happened and the NHS clinic was closed. They are now £4.99 a pack!

I thought it best if I got some bread in to freeze in case the weather stops me awandering like. I called at the Pound shop but they didn’t have any in, well they did but it only had one day left on its sell-by date.

01M05Then I walked through the slab suare on me way to Poundland to look for bread.

There’s a take-away stall I’d not noticed before next to the ice-rink. Busy it was too, and the chips customers were eating smelt and looked nice too. Having a will of steel like wot I have (Lie mode engaged) I was not tempted in the least to get any cause me GP told me not to eat em.

01M06I got to the Poundland shop and they didn’t have any bread in at all.

As I came to the crossing near the Victoria centre mall again the pedestrians were not in the least bit interested in whatever the crossing lights were indicating. There’s been a few accidents if that’s the word on this corner in the past, I’ve seen two and the pedestrians were at fault each time, yet still they plod over the road using their mobile phones or ipods whatever against the lights. Tsk!

Luckily I only saw a few mobility scooters around today – perhaps the maniac drivers are still sozzled from Christmas?

I decided not to get any bread in town, but call at the Co-op in Carrington on the way back to the dump.

01M03As I turned the corner towards the bus-stop, I thought how nice it was that they had kept the old Victoria train station clock and tower when they built the shopping centre.

They are making many hanges to modernise it now – I hope the clock and tower don’t get pulled down.

Got the bus and dropped off on Mansfield road, the pavements were not as bad as earlier, but not good either yet. I called in the Co-op and they had no bread.

Carefully once more to obviate any accidents I took me time nervously manoeuvring over the ice and got to the flea-pit – WC’d.

As I emptied the bag I found the INR record sheet that I’d used as a page marker in me book! Well blow me down with a feather duster, fancy me doing that!

Tsk! Nothing from the mail-man.

Made me sandwiches ready for later and did a bit of facebooking.

Prayed for Frankie in America who has had massive surgery. A grand chap and battler.

Patti Bekert a friend of both me and Frankie is not too well herself and she’s had surgery recently, but she is supporting Frankie… two great cyber pals.

Tried to watch a DVD but could not concentrate.

Inchcock Today: Monday 15th December 2014

 Monday 15th December 2014

01Mon01Up at 0315hrs.

WC.

Really annoyed at not being able to recall dreams yet again. I woke up a few times and repeated to myself what I had just dreamt of in an effort to remember later to put it in this diary because I thought them so weird they should go in this diary… no such luck, the mind was blank – then again the missus used to know that fifty years ago.

Started laptop.

Down and made a cuppa, back up to start this Diary.

WC.

Great news from the lower regions… not a single drop of blood from ‘Little Inchy’ And the lesions are healing a lot better now! Just thought I’d mention it like… by way of a desperate effort to find summat positive to write about to ease the gloom a tad. Hehehe!

Another cuppa was brewed.

Yesterday’s Diary finished and posted.

Another cuppa brewed and mediations taken.

Got a bit carried away with graphicastionalising and somehow thought it was 0930hrs when I’d finished abluting and was ready to go out. I even waited a while to make sure I wasn’t going to get on the bus in the pensions-panic-period of between 0930 and 1000hrs when the bus fills-up with us old foggies using out bus-passes.

When I arrived at the bus-stop, the time on the read-out thingy was 1035hrs – hmm, I lost an hour somewhere there?

I Caught the bus to town, then another one out to the Queens Medical Centre.

01Mon02The sky over the Medical Centre when I arrived was so beautiful I took a photo of it from the front entrance.

Being a tad later than planned to arrive (By an hour – Tsk) the haematology dep’t waiting area was like a football match crowd.

Still it didn’t really matter, so I got out me book and delved into it.

Eventually my number was called and I hobbled into the blood room. The nurses greeted me with affection and a smile – nothing to do with my promising them some extra treats for Christmas last week. I’m sure the reason for their jollity was the arrival of my magnetic personality?

They were soon delving into the carrier bag to pick their favourites before I left. The big box of biscuits extra was in for a bashing I suspect too.

Bless em, someone has to prove their value and worth, I’m proud I did.

I took me leave and walked to the bus-stop for the bus to town.

01Mon03Next to the stop was some railings that fenced off some trees and grass, this was where i had a dizzy turn and leant against the railing for a moment until it cleared. I noticed the amount of things that had been thrown over or through the railings.

Food and drink containers mostly, but there were some cigarette packets and other bits deposited there was well – Nottingham the cleanest city in the  UK? Huh!

I caught a Broad Marsh bus as opposed to a City bound one, so I could go in the 99p shop to see if they had any of the meal-worm pellets for me Mallards.

I got off at the bus-station and saw three women having a hell of an argument… but being a natural born coward that I am, I didn’t take any photographs like!

I walked into the centre and up the escalator to the 99p shop.

They didn’t have any of the pellets, but I did get another pair (the last on the shelves) of the headphone’s like the one  got last week, because they worked okay. But they are delicate and I feel sure it is only a matter of time before I break them. Usually by my falling asleep with them on. It has been known several times in the past you know?

Then I poddled along towards the bus stop far end of town, passing a Pound Shop and thought it would be a jolly good idea to call in to see if they had any of the meal-worm pellets.

Unfortunately they had their pet section up the stairs.

Undaunted I slowly and carefully mounted the steps and found they had got some, so I got some.

Pleased with this, but not with how my knees reacted to going up and down the stairs, I paid and made my way to the bus stop.

01Mon04I noticed as I limped over Upper Parliament Street that there were not so many people about today, bet it won’t be like this in a day or two?

I walked through Trininty Square and the sky over the little use new food Court caught my eye (Not that I was throwing it like) and I put down me bags to get out me camera.

But me arthritic fingers stuck a bit and somehow the camers tool a few photos on its own before I realised it. (Tsk!)

01Mon05I took a photo of the sparsely populated new £3m food court anyway cause the sky appealed.

Then I hobbled down Trinity Walk to the bus-stop for Carrington.

When I got in, I took me things out of the bag made a cuppa and started to update this Diary.

Three photo’s I imported into Coreldraw to resize I did not recognise, in fact two of them were just plain grey – the third was through a window of a lady in a shop?

01Mon07It took me while until I realised these were the one’s taken when my fingers froze in Trinity Square.

Oh dear… I hope the lady didn’t notice? (Red face at the thought of it developing now I can see in the photo that she was showing a bit of flesh off)

I went down to make a cup of char and a leaflet had been posted though the door.

Content:

Have you received treatment from Mr Desmond D’Mello at Daybrook Dental practice?

Desmond M’Mello has been suspended by the General Dental Council. It is said that he did not wash his hands or sterilise equipment between patients.

Up to 22,ooo former patients have been recalled for testing of blood-borne viruses.

* If you have been a patient then you are entitled to claim for the worry and stress of having a blood test.

* We are already acting for clients for the stress and worry and will be dealing with cases for HIV, Hepatitis B and C should they arise.

* We work on a No in No Fee basis.

Blah blah blah…

Don’t miss out…..

CALL OUR DAYBROOK TEAM NOW ON..

0800 634 7 7 Call us 24/7

I’m not sure why, but I find these types of leaflets from so called professionals offensive and rather crude.

Just saying like…

Inchcock Today: Monday 8th December 2014

01M01Monday 8th December 2014

Woke around 0450hrs.

WC.

Laptop on and working, did posts for the League of Mental Men and Inchcock blog sites.

Checked ‘Little Inchy’ when I scrubbed him up, no blood! I think it is moderately safe now to say after 9 weeks, he’s healing up is almost complete… or should I have said that? Oh dear…

Washed and titivated meself and assembled things for me trip to the Queens Medical Centre Haematology for INR Warfarin level tests.

Card, bus-pass, camera, specs, long-johns on, gloves, hearing-aids in etc.

01M03Set off on my hobble into town and the sky that was so threatening yesterday morning was less daunting, although obviously holding some rain I thought.

Cold wind again but not so strong.

As I approached the Hucknall Road junction, I was taking out my camera to film the sky from the same angle as yesterday when a very loud bang was hear.

I could see passengers in the buses and car drivers looking around – but I could not find what caused the noise.

It sounded very close to me… but with my hearing who knows? A clear bang if that is the word to use?

01M02Another mystery of Nottingham life? I didn’t hear owt about it on the news later.

I carried on me walk up Mansfield Road (0940hrs approx) and the traffic was queuing already on its slow way into town.

A walked through ic bus station and into Victoria Centre to get some Lion bars from the cheapo shop. Four for a pound yer know…

01M04Caught the bus out to the hospital… what a driver I’m sure his intention was to cripple as many passengers as possible… or the brakes had just been serviced?

Still, we free bus-pass merchants mustn’t complain.

As I entered the frontage, I noticed a Christmas tree had been placed in the centre spot in the middle of the road so all those ward windows would allow the patients to see it?

Big queue at the Haematology Dep’t, but I’d took me crossword book so it didn’t matter.

Next time I’ll take a pen as well!

01M03aWhen I got in and I got done I gave the nurses their nibbles to which I’d added a few chocolate liqueurs to cheer em up and thank em for Christmas.

On my way out I noticed the rain had started to fall and stayed under cover a few minutes until it lessened a tad… a good job I did.

Cause I’d left one of me bags behind in the waiting area at the haematology, so limped as quickly as I could back there to find this man and woman going through the contents. They were looking for some identification they said, and handed over me bag when I told them the contents.

01M05I can’t take myself anywhere nowadays… Tsk!

As I came out of the hospital again, I looked down at the lower level and noticed the queue of cars for the car park was not moving, and some cars had been parked on the chevrons and double yellow lines. I should imagine this would be overlooked while all the tram works were hampering things.

01M01bThe new tram bridge into the compound was being inched into place in this photo from the Nottingham Post paper.

I caught a bus to town but it was a Broad Marsh bus, not the city centre – lethal for me finances that – I had to hobble passed three DVD shops… oh dear… Ans Lorna from the Troll Free Zone had recommended a film called UP – so naturally I called in to see if they had it in stock…

01M06I came put of the shopping centre with ‘The Expendables 3’, ‘All Creatures Great and Small full series’ and ‘Grudge Match’.

Then walked to Marks and Sparks to see if they had any headphones. They didn’t.

I continued on me walk to town in the drizzle, and noticed outside the 24hour McDonald’s was a street artists looking rather glum poor devil. He’d been working making a dog and cat entwined representation in sand and the rain had ruined it. Felt so sorry for him I gave him a quid anyway.

01M07I poddled up exchange walk, not easy with the crowds motorbility scooters, Big issue sellers and people on pushbikes… and got to the top eventually without injury and took a photo of the Winter Wonderland stalls, with all the happy cheerful friendly people (Lie detected!)

The background of the old Prudential building looked grand against the skyline.

I limped up and caught a bus back to Carrington and the flea-pit.

WC.

01M08Had to sort me medication dose pots anew.

All colour coded mind… good stuff yer know. Took me flipping ages to do.

Laptop started, had me nosh while I waited for it to start…

Blow me no internet connection again… bloody BT! So much for them convincing me to go on fibre and how it will be faster more reliable… and they said no extra cost, then the prices went up after I’d been on it for 1 week! It’s the French yer know, they own it… I think?

It came on after a few resets and rebooting the latop… Huh!

Set about finishing this Diary, then did some facebooking and blog reading.

TTFN all…

Inchcock Today: Monday 1st December 2014

Monday 1st December 2014

I gorrup late fer me… about 0555hrs.

WC’d.

01M01I tended little ‘Inchy’, only a few spots of blood this time. Having to spare the Betamethasone corticosteroid cream, because it’s running out like.

Made a cuppa, WC’d and took me medications, a little late but still.

Spent a little while reading me book.

No laptop this morning as time was getting late and I had to go get me things ready for me trip to the GP for me prescription extras, then the chemists to get it filled, then the to the QMC haematology for Warfin INR level tests. If I’m still able and not too weary after them, I’ll go to the G.U.M. clinic to try and get some more cream for little ‘Inchy’.

Made up the nibble for the GP receptionists, Chemists staff and QMC nurses.

01M02Titivated meself and set off on me walk to the GP. Picked up prescriptions’gave em their nibbles and poddled off to the chemists. They sorted me and took the nibbles, now the walk into town.

Plenty of traffic about this morning – mucho sounding of horns I noted.

As I got to the same spot as usual, I took a photo of a block of four abandoned shops on 01M03the main Mansfield Road again.

I feel sad when I pass these premises and wonder what the plans are for the area? The locale is packed with thousands of student flats so do not offer much incentive for retailers locally to start trading?

I plodded on into town and caught a bus out to the hospital.

01M04I took me ticket and waited me turn – didn’t wait long soon and sorted.

The only problem was trying to stop the bleeding afterwards. It took yonks to stop it.

Came out and caught bus to town, where I poddled around the slab square taking some piccies of the stalls and rides.

01M05The ice rink had a machine being driven around on the ice.

Caught a bus back to Carrington and crossed-fingerly started the laptop.

WC’d.

Made a cuppa and returned to the laptop.

All working! Internet, Coreldraw and Word.

01M07Good stuff laptop-wise today.

Around 1700hrs took medications.

Finished me posts to the League of Mental Men.

Then made some nosh.

Remembered I should have gone to the 01M06G.U.M. clinic for me cream!

Hey-ho.

I’ll have to go tomorrow after I’ve done my launderette visit then.

Inchcock Today: Monday 24th November 2014

01Mon01

I awoke around 0200hrs – almost like getting an electric shock – wide awake!

WC.

I poddled down and made a cuppa, too early for me medications yet.

Returned upstairs and started to update posts for the League of Mental Men site.

WC – and no blood from little ‘Inch’ – tender, but no blood! dabbed a tad of Betamethasone cream on and managed not to scream-out. (Hehe)

Feeling depressed this morning… why? No idea!

0515hrs: Cuppa and took medications. Inch still no blood. (Good)

Got the things ready for me walk to the QMC for me NRI blood level tests – but could not find me Anticoagulation record card. So I’ll have to go up to the fourth floor and get another one – good thing I’m setting out early (0630hrs still dark).

-2ºc the cars windscreens well frosted over. Took a photo.

Hobbled down to the Queens Medical Centre taking 1hr 35mins for the hike.

As I passed the college on Triumph Road I took two photo’s of the fancy shaped new buildings

Arrived to be greeted by Unison members on picket duty just outside the hospital. Took a photo.

Slowly I ascended the stairs to the anticoagulation unit and had to wait a while for the printer to be turned on, got me record card and back down to floor B and into the waiting area outside haematology.

WC.

Again two staff had not turned up for work, last week it was three. The two left on duty were well pee’d off. I wondered if they ere taking industrial action but didn’t like to ask while she’s got the needle in me arm. (Hehe)

Came out and foolishly tried to get on a bus to Bulwell and the driver pointed out that I could not use me free-bus-pass until 0930hrs. Red-faced I got off and started to walk to town (55min’s) taking a photo of the wonderful but dark sky. There I caught as tram to Bulwell (0932hrs)

Now this is good, even for a twit like me – I went into Fultons Frozen Foods  shop, and was overjoyed at seeing they had some of the giant packs of microwave sausages in stock again and bought one post haste, well pleased.

I then called in the cheapo shop to see if any bargains were available and while in there it dawned on me that I have no longer got a microwave! Huh!

Fed the ducks on the river Leen and caught the bus back to Carrington.

Took  a photo of what was left of a chained up bike near the Kebab-Pizza poisoning shop- it was not a lot.

Got in and WC’d.

Now… throughout the course of me mammoth walkabout I took about eight photos, some of which I thought were good.

Started the laptop – but no internet connection at all – closed and opened Chrome again, still nothing. I went down and reset the BT hub, and got numbers off of it in case I needed them later.

Came back up and restarted the laptop – nothing again.

Went down and checked what I could and reset hub again.

Came back up and second try it started?

I downloaded the photo’s I’d took, deleted them from the camera card – and the laptop turned itself off: lost em all!

Hence no photo’s in today diary. After all that bother as well. Tsk! blow and damnations!

Restarted again after going through the checks demanded and it seems alright again now.

Updated this diary – but me heart wasn’t in it after losing me photographs.

And… after losing/misplacing me bank card and going embarrassed to the bank and helpful lady helping me sort it out, I should get new card around Wednesday/Thursday… when I was at the hospital earlier I found the blooming thing! Oh… fed-up I am fed-up frustrated and low… still that’s about normal fer me nowadays. (Hehehe)

Inchcock Today: Monday 10th November 2014

W16M01

Monday 20th November 2014

Up at 0300hrs, WC.

’Inchy’ sore and leaking a little blood.

Down and got laptop started and made a cuppa.

Chest pains started, angina not good.

Feeling a bit down again. Despite Lynton emailing me that he is coming over to see me with his son next week.

Did the LOMM update posts and some graphics for Troll Free Zone.

Waiting for the Asda delivery, then I’ll get washed shaved teggies and WC then get changed to go to the Queens Medical Centre for my INT level tests.

When I came down from ablutionising (Is there such a word?) my left thumb was bleeding from all around the nail! No pain, no lesions?

W16M02I took some bits with me for the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop to drop off on the way back from the Queens Medical Centre.

I set off and caught the bus (Raining you see) into town. Then got another out to the QMC.

The rain has lessened as I arrived at the hospital.

Only a couple waiting at the haematology dep’t, and I was in five minutes later.

There was only two staff on. The new girl and a bloke brought in from another department – three staff off today she said! She also pointed out that i had blood coming from my left ear-hole?

Still she was happy could she could have first pick of the nibbles I took for them, including the fresh cream éclairs that tickled her fancy.

W16M03I was soon out and caught a bus into town.

W16M04Had a walk about a bit, got some DVD’s to add to the stuff got the Hospice shop.

Ambulance/CityWalked into town and as I rounded the corner, the first thing I saw was somebody being loaded into an ambulance.

That cheered me up no end.

The rain had stopped and the sunshine glistened. So I took a photo in the slab square.

Then walked towards the Sherwood bus pick-up point taking a photo pf an alley as I passed it. In this alley is a W16M05Barbers, a public convenience, a ladies hair dressers and a few other retailer. Not doing so well I’d hazard a guess by the lack of people around.

I caught the bus and dropped off almost opposite the Charity shop and took the bit in for them.

Then I had a walk back to Carrington, the angina still bothersome.

And I foolishly didn’t put any Phorpain gel on my knees cause they seemed okay at the time – When will I ever learn!

Nearly got ran into by a burke on a bike on the pavement as I turned the corner into my street.

Got in. WC’d.

Laptop on and made a cuppa.

It’s colder in this house than outside! Huh!

Felt that warm wet sensation in the region of my little Inch again, went up and checked. Bleeding. A good day for me bleeding today innit – me left thumb, me left ear and now my ‘Inch’ has started again. I checked the ear-hole closer and I think the wax or ear-drops might have hardened and when I put me hearing-aids in it might have caught it and pulled a bit off?

I’m looking forward to be nosh tonight (and hoping it come out alright like). I’ve got two big potatoes to do int microwave, then I’ll empty the flesh into bowl and bash it up with some cheese granules a splash of vinegar and a tad of sea salt, then return it to the microwave add some bbq sausages and rewarm it.

I’ll let yer know how it turns out later. I might have a bit of cooked beetroot with it. Egon Ronay? Huh!
