02:45hrs: As has been the regulation activity on waking for a few days now; I woke in need of a wee-wee. Dismounted the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged while he was flat-sitting, when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet four-months later), £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner.
Amazing how quickly things can change! If, as now looks likely, the peripheral neuralgia is going to affect the left side as well as the right, I could find myself in a right pickle, in a naufrageous way. It’s true, I do suffer from abulia and ambivalence nowadays, but that very fact proves the absence of any ability, to improve things. Doesn’t it?
I got some Inchy-cleaning done and applied some over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. I am out of the prescription Dexamethasone anti-fungal cream, so do not expect startling, or even a successful outcome. I must get a prescription for some more. While doing this, the summoning from the innards arrived – at last! Hardly any effort needed, no pain either. But it was another monster-sized evacuation. I just hope I can avoid any blockages in the pipeworks.
Thank Heavens for the PP’s! Oh, yes!
Washed the dandies and wiped the contact areas with antiseptic disinfectant, and returned to the kitchen, and got the socks washed, rung-out and onto the airer. Kettle on, took the medications, I was unsure about taking the water tablet, the Furosemide? I decided against it, despite the knobbly, warped, pot-marked legs returning. Made a brew, and got on the computer to get the finishing off of the Sunday blog done.
With a weary determination, I pressed on. Eventually getting the post finished and sent off to WordPress. Then I had to make up a template for today’s blog, using CorelDraw and WordPress to achieve it. But, I proudly got it done and made a start on this page.
I sprayed the feet, socks and shoes, dressed, and took the black bags to the chute on the way out, and a big bag for recycling to the Caretakers door on the way out of the lobby. Where I met Penny on her way out to the bin. She deposited a very large empty bottle of strong spirits, (Only joking!) and nipped back in through the caretaker’s handleless door, shutting it behind her, so I had to walk the winding route on the frontage, to get to Winwood Court. Hahaha!
I entered through the lobby, and called into the Obersturmbannführer Wardens cross-examination, interrogation room, and handed out some nibbles. Dean and Julie looked rather busy, so I departed and walked through the large Winwood Court social area. Near the open kitchen, I decided it would be a good idea, to nip out the rear door, to take photos of an area I usually cannot access. I got out using the green release button, this one opened automatically after I pressed it, not like the Woodthorpe Court one, it didn’t need opening manually.
It was drizzling lightly, and I took a shot along towards their seating alfresco area and my beloved Woodthorpe Court.
My intention originally was to go to the Arboretum, to feed the ducks and birds. But seeing how the wheels on the trolley were already getting leaves, seeds and various other bits of muck on them, I decided to go to the Disabled shop instead, and have a look to see if they had any three-wheeled guides for sale, with a larger bag then mine. On the short trip down into Sherwood, Angie, Roy, Shirley and others shared a giggle or two.
I alighted with many others and called into the Post Office supermarket. The owner was true to his word and had got some more of the puff pastry fingers in stock again. I bought two packets and a roll of biscuits.
On my way, the brain wanted to give me one of its ‘Worry, fret, fear, panic, attacks’. But I fought off this one. I wish I could do the same with all of them. But I don’t know how I did it this time. I would not let the hideous thoughts affect me at all! Within minutes, I was hobbling on, unconcerned and certainly not worrying about anything, Amazing!
None of them appealed to me or had any larger carrying capacity than the one I have already. Pity!
The chap came to me and told me no suppliers do one with a bigger bag on them. Ah, well! It
As I was walking back up Mansfield Road into Sherwood, a Pavement Cyclist, came at me head-on, and I had to move to avoid the arrogant, ignorant, nasty, scumbag from banging into me. I turned to take this photo of the sleazeball, stinkard, rat-bag, shitty varmint!
I went to the Wilko shop. Where they had the £3 Ylang Flavour Boost chrystals on sale at three for £5! I hope they are not clearing them, to stop selling in future! I bought three of them, a Ylang fabric conditioner, and some waste bags.
When the bus arrived, the driver parked behind the first bus. He put down the board to let me off safely, and let the other passengers on the bus with ease, thank you, Sir!
I didn’t see a soul as I walked through the linking passage until I got to the end door. The caretaker was coming my way and held open the swipe-door for me. I thanked him, and we had a few words and a laugh shared.
No equivocating this time. After a few moments, I decided on beef pasty, curried baked beans and a few chips! I surprised even myself at my quick mind-making-up! Haha!
I’ve just realised something – No, wee-weeing again yet?
I started, at last, doing the updating. Much tap-tapping with the occasional thud from above for the first two hours of the job.
Eventually, the weariness overtook me. I got the nosh sorted. Another of the Mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination; the photograph I took of the nosh has disappeared from the SD card? I ate the fodder, beans, chips & tomatoes. Flavour-rating 6/10.
Thought I’d better get the handwashing done, with having to go out early in the morning for the physio session, I’ll not have much time.
I got the washing up of the pots done. I used the Fairy washing up liquid, and tons of tiny bubbles flew around. I got the camera and tried to photograph them. I think I caught a total of one bubble! Haha!
I felt a bit giddy still, so stood with the stick for a few moments, and thought things through. The dizziness lingered, and I moved very carefully to get the camers to check on any harm done to the legs.
I hoped that they would not stiffen or become too painful for me to get to the After -Stroke Physio Torture Session in the morning.
I settled down and sleep came much easier tonight. I slept a straight five-hours. Bliss!
Are you walking to the Stroke Physio Torture Session? With your bruised and tortured looking legs, that might be a bit difficult. Maybe you could rig a backpack on the trolley for some extra luggage space. I still think you need a trolley with a 427 Cobra Jet V8 to get around town on. You would be all the envy. Plus you could shutdown those pavement cyclists with a rev of the engine. It’s a nice fantasy, at least. Great set of street photos from your out and about. Too bad you beat yourself up at the end of the day. I hope the Stroke Physio Torture Session goes well, however you manage to get there.
Thanks, Tim.
No walking today, Tim. I’ll try not to miss the 40 bus again this week. Hehe! Legs aching from the tumble, but better than I thought they would me. Just took a photo of them – oh, dear! Hehe!
Odd layout o these trolleys, jut no room for anything, a suppliers con, methinks. Be good to fit a V80, though, and mangle some pavement cyclist, then?
I must get the ablutions done in time to catch the bus.
TTFNski, taketh care, Sir.
