02:45hrs: As has been the regulation activity on waking for a few days now; I woke in need of a wee-wee. Dismounted the Brother-in-Law Pete damaged while he was flat-sitting, when I was in the Stroke Ward, and he fitted new CCTC cameras, and searched for my valuables, which he found and took, (I still haven’t got them back yet four-months later), £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, sometimes working, uncomfortable, rickety, rinky-dinked, rattling, rusty, resurrected, reconditioned, recalcitrant, recidivating and rotting-away recliner.
To the GPEB (Grey-Plastic-Emergency Bucket), and what a pathetic lamentable session it was, of the WPTU (Weak-Pathetic-Trickling-Unwilling) style. Hardly worth the effort really!
As I was wiping and shaking, It felt like to me, that blood should have been flowing from a lesion on the left shin? I took a proper look. What a state the pins were in! They had regained the fluid storage, gone all knobbly, more blood papsules had appeared. The worst thing about this was the left leg had joined in getting the blobs and odd lumps and marks, now! Although I could not get them to show clearly in the photos, two new craters had appeared, near the new, what look like, but are not scratch marks?
Amazing how quickly things can change! If, as now looks likely, the peripheral neuralgia is going to affect the left side as well as the right, I could find myself in a right pickle, in a naufrageous way. It’s true, I do suffer from abulia and ambivalence nowadays, but that very fact proves the absence of any ability, to improve things. Doesn’t it?
Then, I realised I had slept with the bamboo socks on! I am not supposed to do this. I wonder if doing this, may have caused the problems? The left leg, is now positively stinging in the area around the depressed pothole flesh?
As I painfully removed the socks, to get them hand-washed… Blood appeared on the back of my hand? Oh, bother! It was Little Inchies Fungal Lesion that was bleeding! No pain with it, mind. (Not doing very well these last few days, am I? Humph!)
I got some Inchy-cleaning done and applied some over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. I am out of the prescription Dexamethasone anti-fungal cream, so do not expect startling, or even a successful outcome. I must get a prescription for some more. While doing this, the summoning from the innards arrived – at last! Hardly any effort needed, no pain either. But it was another monster-sized evacuation. I just hope I can avoid any blockages in the pipeworks.
Thank Heavens for the PP’s! Oh, yes!
Washed the dandies and wiped the contact areas with antiseptic disinfectant, and returned to the kitchen, and got the socks washed, rung-out and onto the airer. Kettle on, took the medications, I was unsure about taking the water tablet, the Furosemide? I decided against it, despite the knobbly, warped, pot-marked legs returning. Made a brew, and got on the computer to get the finishing off of the Sunday blog done.
With a weary determination, I pressed on. Eventually getting the post finished and sent off to WordPress. Then I had to make up a template for today’s blog, using CorelDraw and WordPress to achieve it. But, I proudly got it done and made a start on this page.
08:00hrs: Ablutioning time. I stripped off ready to do the teggies and shaving; and what a sight the stomach was as well as the legs! Blood papsules, lesions, spots and an erupting ulcer I think, at the top of the heart operation scar! The dropsies during the session were too frequent, and many to count! The soap in the shower being ahead count-wise, I feel sure. But included the toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth-wash bottle, razors, bleach bottle, ear wax bottle, flannel, towel, spectacles, Haemorrhoid cream tube, and a bag of PPs! (Probably more!) I joke not!
Incidentally, I made this photo into a Vignette style, to try and hide the embarrassing ‘Man Boobs’ that were hanging down, and the voluminous size of the gut. True!
Oh, alright then, here’s the original! Tsk! Not exactly pretty is it? I suppose it goes to prove my allotriophagy and tendency to gormandise? Guilty! With mitigating circumstances, which will be lied further about, no doubt, in future chronicles, later! Hehe!
I sprayed the feet, socks and shoes, dressed, and took the black bags to the chute on the way out, and a big bag for recycling to the Caretakers door on the way out of the lobby. Where I met Penny on her way out to the bin. She deposited a very large empty bottle of strong spirits, (Only joking!) and nipped back in through the caretaker’s handleless door, shutting it behind her, so I had to walk the winding route on the frontage, to get to Winwood Court. Hahaha!
I entered through the lobby, and called into the Obersturmbannführer Wardens cross-examination, interrogation room, and handed out some nibbles. Dean and Julie looked rather busy, so I departed and walked through the large Winwood Court social area. Near the open kitchen, I decided it would be a good idea, to nip out the rear door, to take photos of an area I usually cannot access. I got out using the green release button, this one opened automatically after I pressed it, not like the Woodthorpe Court one, it didn’t need opening manually.
It was drizzling lightly, and I took a shot along towards their seating alfresco area and my beloved Woodthorpe Court.
Then realised that the swipe button to get back inside, hanging loose, the rain had gotten into the box, and it wasn’t lit up or working! Ah, well! As luck would have it, I found another door further along near Winchester Court, that was working, and got in through there! Out, and to the bus stop. Penny and a couple of others were there. The queue soon grew. I had a great laugh, joke and gossip while we waited for the L9’s to arrive.
My intention originally was to go to the Arboretum, to feed the ducks and birds. But seeing how the wheels on the trolley were already getting leaves, seeds and various other bits of muck on them, I decided to go to the Disabled shop instead, and have a look to see if they had any three-wheeled guides for sale, with a larger bag then mine. On the short trip down into Sherwood, Angie, Roy, Shirley and others shared a giggle or two.
I alighted with many others and called into the Post Office supermarket. The owner was true to his word and had got some more of the puff pastry fingers in stock again. I bought two packets and a roll of biscuits.
I came out and had a walk up and over the hill on Mansfield Road, and down to towards the disabled shop.
On my way, the brain wanted to give me one of its ‘Worry, fret, fear, panic, attacks’. But I fought off this one. I wish I could do the same with all of them. But I don’t know how I did it this time. I would not let the hideous thoughts affect me at all! Within minutes, I was hobbling on, unconcerned and certainly not worrying about anything, Amazing!
I arrived at the store and went in to have a look around at the trolleys on show.
None of them appealed to me or had any larger carrying capacity than the one I have already. Pity!
The chap came to me and told me no suppliers do one with a bigger bag on them. Ah, well! It can’t be helped!
As I was walking back up Mansfield Road into Sherwood, a Pavement Cyclist, came at me head-on, and I had to move to avoid the arrogant, ignorant, nasty, scumbag from banging into me. I turned to take this photo of the sleazeball, stinkard, rat-bag, shitty varmint!
I walked over the brow and down to pass the bus stop. Angela and Roy were sat outside a cafe, and we had a few words. They were off to the Lidl store in Carrington.
I went to the Wilko shop. Where they had the £3 Ylang Flavour Boost chrystals on sale at three for £5! I hope they are not clearing them, to stop selling in future! I bought three of them, a Ylang fabric conditioner, and some waste bags.
Up to the bus stop. When the bus arrived, there was the only person on it apart from myself. A new tenant, who is not the greatest conversationalist I’ve ever known.
When the bus arrived, the driver parked behind the first bus. He put down the board to let me off safely, and let the other passengers on the bus with ease, thank you, Sir!
As I went into Winwood Court, via the lobby door, there were three people waiting to get the bus. I bravely told them I am not allowed to let anyone in who I don’t recognise. They produced Nottingham City Home I.D. So I let them in. But, just to keep an eye on them, I took a picture of one of the toy dogs that are scattered around in Winwood Court, while maintaining a bead on them. But they seemed genuine enough.
I didn’t see a soul as I walked through the linking passage until I got to the end door. The caretaker was coming my way and held open the swipe-door for me. I thanked him, and we had a few words and a laugh shared.
Still, no one it sight I got up to the flat and emptied the trolley and carrier bag out. Then got the things put away and pondered on what to have for my nosh, later.
No equivocating this time. After a few moments, I decided on beef pasty, curried baked beans and a few chips! I surprised even myself at my quick mind-making-up! Haha!
I got the computer on, and ready to start to update this blog. After all, there may not be much time in the morning, with the crippling, over-enthusiastic, impassioned, body-wrecking, After-Stroke physio session to attend! Then I made another decision. Oh Yes! I got the £2.30 bus fare put ready in the jacket pocket I’ll wear, and wrote a note, to leave on the TV screen. This being due to my missing the flipping bus last week, cause it came two minutes early! So, ‘Be prepared’ is the motto for this week!
I’ve just realised something – No, wee-weeing again yet?
I started, at last, doing the updating. Much tap-tapping with the occasional thud from above for the first two hours of the job.
Eventually, the weariness overtook me. I got the nosh sorted. Another of the Mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the universal continuum, illusion, delusion, & hallucination; the photograph I took of the nosh has disappeared from the SD card? I ate the fodder, beans, chips & tomatoes. Flavour-rating 6/10.
Thought I’d better get the handwashing done, with having to go out early in the morning for the physio session, I’ll not have much time.
I got the washing up of the pots done. I used the Fairy washing up liquid, and tons of tiny bubbles flew around. I got the camera and tried to photograph them. I think I caught a total of one bubble! Haha!
and an I was taking of the trews to get myself settled down, and as I bent forward to place them on the rack… just at that moment, Dizzy Dennis visited, and I toppled over. Falling against the Ottoman and the chair. How I got my hands out in front of me to avoid further injury and damage, I don’t know. But I recall an odd moment of smugness, as I thought; “Cricky, you did well there, son!” to myself.
Then the neuropathy ridden right hand and arm, started to do a Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance, and of course, my arms, that were protecting my privates, chest, face etc. from landing fully on the Ottoman, collapsed! I fell on the Ottoman corner, chair and floor, all cleverly at the same time. I really was in nervous state, again thinking of pressing the wristlet alarm, as I was struggling to get back upright, and was not sure if I’d done myself any serious harm or not. I eventually managed to get myself back up, and disintangled of the crushed Ottoman and lid, electricty plugs and wires. But I have to say, it shook me up a bit.
I felt a bit giddy still, so stood with the stick for a few moments, and thought things through. The dizziness lingered, and I moved very carefully to get the camers to check on any harm done to the legs.
The pins were not a pretty sight! Hehe! A few new bruises coming through on both legs, above the knee where I landed hitting the Ottoman and electricity socket array.
I hoped that they would not stiffen or become too painful for me to get to the After -Stroke Physio Torture Session in the morning.
I settled down and sleep came much easier tonight. I slept a straight five-hours. Bliss!
