INCHCOCK TODAY

Saturday 20th February 2010

Croatian: Subota 20 VeljaÄŤe 2010

21:30hrs: I burst awake, confused, needing a wee-wee, and coughing. With new bother at all, I was up, caught my balance, had a weak, unwilling wee-wee, and heard the noise from above again, like a humming motor. The World Wide ‘Hum’ was heard as well.

A bit of shivering, and I put on a thick jumper. Remembering the Community Nurse was due this coming morning.

I got the things washed up from last night’s Chilli-Con-Carne feast. I’m sure I could still taste it, Gorgeous!

I got the pre-dump Health Checks done. The Boot’s Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China, had good results for once. SYS 144, DIA 70, and the PULSE 84bpm. Looking good again! The Chinese (Hong Kong) made by Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd, contactless thermometer, proffered a 36.8°c – 98.24°f temperature. Still a smidge high.

Aha, summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived, at last! I thought to myself, this is going to be interesting. And it was!

I got settled on the throne, and a day or so later (Hehehe!), the action started. Slow, drawn-out, Agony! I really thought that something was going to burst open… by the time the almost black, lumpy mini-torpedos had well-filled the porcelain bowl, I was ready to go back to bed… shattered! Done in!

But the cistern failed to clear things after three attempts. A couple more hand-refilling of the tank, and all was cleared. A few tiny spots of blood, but nowt to fret about: at least it wasn’t a messy affair. I medicated the rear end, using the Germoloid ointment, and Harold’s Haemorrhoids calmed down. Saccades-Sandra was playing up a bit. I prayed she was not going to be persistent.

I got the computer on and updated and finalised the Friday blog. Got it sent off to WordPress. The stomach has stopped rumbling. I emailed the link. Pinterested a few snaps. Then went on the WordPress Reader section. Not a lot on it again today. Went on Facebooking catch-up.

I got the handwashing rearranged and onto the curtain rail above the wall heater. To dry off. The made in Myanmar (Burmese), maroon and blue zip-up jackets, and the light purple Afganistan thermal jumper were done.

I carried out the post-dump Health Checks.

The Boot’s Sphygmomanometer readings ere much the same as the earlier check. The PULSE had risen just a bit.

The Chinese (Hong Kong) made by Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd. contactless thermometer reading was a smidge higher, too. 37.1°c – 98.78°f – which might be a little high.

I made a brew of Thompsons Punjana tea and started a fresh bottle of Sterilised milk from the fridge. Not being one averse to Accifauxpas, I decided to cut my finger on the peel-off aluminium milk bottle cap. Well, it keeps things interesting, dunnit?

I had a look at the WP comments and replied to them. Hello, the innards are kicking off… Oh, dearie me! Off to get the ablutions seen to. Too early to use the shower. Just in case it disturbs anyone kipping.

If nowt else, it were a different-mode style today. Got the teeth done, but it annoyed Toothache Terence a bit. Denasaled, and put the eye drops in… well, some of them. The shaving caused a few little nicks and about half-a-dozen dropsies.

The pins seem to have lost a lot of fluid—the skin paler than never.

The medicationalisationing was messy; poor Harold’s Haemorrhoids were stinging a bit. And, the old ankle ulcer scar was tingling under the skin? Another good thing, Little Inchies fungal lesion has not bled for weeks now! Of course, now I’ve gone and opened my runaway gob, anything can happen!

Leaving the wet room, clouted my right shoulder against the door frame. Tsk!

I got the job done pretty quickly, which gave me time to get some more handwashing done: the Indian long sleeves t-shirt, the lounge pants and a pair of socks. Al done, wrung and hung to dry.

I made a brew of Glengettie Gold – the tea is still not tasting like normal. I tried the full milk to see if it makes any difference, but it didn’t. For some reason, the Thompsons Punjana brews are the worst of the three yet usually delight to drink?

I went on the balcony and tried to take some decent shots of Chestnut Walk below. This is the only one of the five taken that was not too bad. The Canon camera just doesn’t like being used in the dark. I might try with the sometimes working – others not, Kodak camera the next time. I wonder where I left it?

I went on CorelDraw to make some graphics.

Struggling to stay awake now. Community Nurses could be coming anytime over the next three hours. Dare not take the rubbish out and miss their arrival. Must try to keep awake.

The ladies arrived and set about investigating and vaccinating me. Bade them farewell, and all I wanted to do was sleep. So down in the chair, and was soon in the land of nod…

The landline chirped into life to disturb my rest. The Pharmacy asked how many doses I had left, told them, and said he’s delivery the prescriptions. I fell asleep again…

The landline chirped and flashed again, A reminder that the Warfarin blood test will be in the morning.

Fell asleep again, and the intercom announced the arrival of the prescriptions. I left them in the hall and climbed back into the recliner – and nodded of with no bother… for ‘Fifteen Hours!’ Is there an opiate, narcotic or anodyne in the Vaccine? Hehehe!

Inchies Inkles – Thursday 18th February 2021, Diary

INCHCOCK TODAY

Thursday 18th February 2021

Spanish: Jueves 18 de Febrero de 2021

03:25hrs: Slowly, the brain came into force, and I realised I’d just slept for Seven-Hours! Grrreat! It’s been months since I’ve had such a long kip!

I rose from the recliner, caught my balance with relative ease, and used the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket), taking a UTD (Unwilling-Trickling-Dribbling) variety, with tons of CMD (Cessational Micturition Dribble) to round off the session.

I put the kettle on and got the first of the Health Checks done. The Boots Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China, showed a pleasing SYS of 142, Dia 72, and PULSE of 89bpm.

The Chinese (Hong Kong) made by Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd, contactless thermometer, gave a result in the green of 36.6°c – 97.88°f. Not bad.

I made a brew of Glengettie Gold tea, and it tasted a little more like usual, so the taste-buds might be getting back to normalish?

Started the updating of the Wednesday blog, which for some reason I’d missed making reminder notes for, so it was a bit hit and miss, factually. Got it completed and sent off to WordPress. Pinterested a few snaps. Emailed the link. Checked the email in-box and found that Iceland, were back to missing items and substituting again! So, that’s Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s and now Iceland, who seem to be short of fabric conditioner?

The delivery might arrive anytime now, so I went on Facebooking while I awaited the food to arrive. Went to check the door, yet another letter arrived re-the Covid Vaccination having to be booked. The head spins each time I get one with different or opposite instructions!

The Iceland man rang the intercom. Dropped the stuff through the door for me and got a can of Pimms in thanks and appreciation from me. I got the bits through to the kitchen and opened and stored the contents.

I struggled to make room to get the bread in the freezer, but I managed it after some rigmarole and rearranging. I now have three loaves of Milk, Roll bread, and a bread thins in the freezer, just if I have difficulties getting any more, as I did last week.

I made a start on this post. I need to get the waste bags away at 08:00hrs. Less chance of contact with anyone, and we can’t do it earlier, the rubbish’s noise going down the chute disturb’s folks. I took this photo from inside the balcony; I didn’t want to risk letting in the cold by opening the windows.

I got the bags in the box, added the recycling one last, and off to the waste chute.

Did some more updating, and then the witching hour arrived, so I could take the rubbish away.

I took the walker and waste out through the lobby and into the lift lobby. All was quiet on the Western front. I couldn’t even hear the ‘Hum’ in the lobby? Eerie!

I got to the waste-room door, and I faffed about a bit, getting the trolley-guide inside the room. My coordination seemed to be going to pot? This I put down to the Peripheral Neuropathy. When I was typing, Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters were on and off all the time; I think I may be in for some SSS and even an involuntary right leg Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance later on. No specific reason for thinking this, just that its happened like this before.

On the way back, the wall with the Art Deco paintwork grew on me. I like it more and more.

I bumbled my way back into the flat. My spacial judgement is still not good. I had a twinge of muscle contractions and thought it might be a good idea to make up some of the spring water concoctions and make sure I drank as much as possible to give me a chance of avoiding the sleep-taking Colin Cramps when he visits tonight.

I made up two 2-litre bottles of spring water, with added orange cordial—one for tonight and the other during the day. I must do anything I can, being in my condition. Hehe!

I finally got around to visiting the WordPress Reader section. I had a look at the YourArea local Emag.

At first glance, the Covid-19 figures seem confusing, to me, anyway. I eventually worked out the problem. The top left was accumulative for the last 7 days, bottom left for Nottinghamshire. The right one is accumulative. I got there, eventually. Hehe!

I got on with creating some graphics for the future templates on CorelDraw. Then at long last, I used the Porcelain Throne! A Constipation Konrad grind! But not messy.

I carried out the Post-Dump Health Checks. The only thing of any concern was the Body temperature that had gone up a fair bit yet again; 38.5 °c –  101.3°f. Far too high!

I had a cuppa and some lemon wafers and took a photograph through the balcony windows of the bleak wintery weather.

Deana called, a quick check, she wisely didn’t come in the flat, spoke from the doorway, bless her.

The early weariness dawned; I was so tired that having anything to eat was out the question. I got settled and put the TV on, ‘Tales of the unexpected’, two half-hour shows. These take me back to happy times when I didn’t need to wear an adult size nappy. Hehehe! I found enthusiasm for watching a programme at last. Headphone on, I began to enjoy the first one…

The landline burst forth and flashed. It was someone from the Covid Vaccination people. I explained about my possibly having Covid-19, so am isolating as told to. He said he’d ting back in two weeks.

Missed a lot of programmes plot, but returned to watch it. The telephone chirped and flashed again five minutes later. It was a lady from the Community Nursing Unit. She arranged for someone to come and test me on Saturday twixt 10:00 > 14:30hrs.

Back to the TV. Once more, the landline activated. Someone asking ho I was coping? They did not answer when I asked who they were? I rang off.

It didn’t take too long for me to nod-off. A decent four-hour kip before I sprang awake in need of a wee-wee. Stayed up.

Inchcock Today

Monday 15th February 2021

Finnish: Maanantai 15 Helmikuuta 2021

05:00hrs: Woke up to pains from Cartilage Cathy, and where Colin Cramps had been having a go at me again, nocturnally! But, nothing, compared to the previous two nights. I drank no end of spring water yesterday, and as Tim Price says, it seemed to have helped! At least I got a few hours kip in, a decent four hours I work it out as.

As soon as I attempted to move my old aching limbs, and flobby-bellied torso from the Grotty, ÂŁ300, second-hand, c1968, unsteady, not-working, incommodious, sickeningly beige-coloured, haemorrhoid-testing recliner to catch my balance. Cathy and Arthur Itis complained, and the knees were dodgy again, so I really took my time, gingerly hooked the wooden walking stick over my shoulder, and tried to walk to the kitchen, without using it. I got there without any hassle, but, as I mention, I was weary and planning my route near solid objects I could use if I did go over.

No wee-wee called for? I got the kettle on and cracked my elbow on the countertop, and calmy muttered some oath or other – good heavens, my voice was all nasal and croaky? There was mucus wanted to come out from the throat and nose, I got rid of a bit of it. But it was still better than two days ago, just the knees and Colin Cramp’s after-effects were any bothers. I talked myself into an even-keel frame of mind.

I tackled the pre-Dump Health Checks. The dependable, trustworthy, Chinese manufactured Boot’s Sphygmomanometer results were okay. SYS 161. DIA 70 PULSE 90. A good start!

In Hong Kong, the Chinese Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer returned decent reading, lit up in the green. Of 36.7°c – 98.6°f. A smidge high, but well down on what it has been some days. So, no complaints from me!

I made a brew of Glengettie, took the morning medications, and got a packet of the luxury Lemon Wafers out, for the nurse when she calls to take my blood. When she’s been, I’ll nip some down for the Jenny family, I bet Frank and Nora will love them.

The legs seemed to be regaining some muscle now, that Colin Cramps has had a ball with the legs and hands these last three nights.

I’d let the tea go cold, so I went to make another mashing. Oh, the fog falleth!

I constipated on getting the Sunday Diary updating done, I’ve got to make a template for today. It’s all go! Concentrationalistically, I pressed on and got it finished, but it took me a few hours. Thanks to Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters being so kind to me, I hope this continues for a while, Grrreat! Got it done and posted-off to WP. Then on Facebooking, but with my getting up late, it was time to get the ablutions done, before the nurse arrives.

I had to use the Porcelain Throne first. Despite my best efforts, nothing moved again, a couple of tiny meatballs, and they hurt on the way out!

The Ablutions went really well! In total, I had only six dropsies! Yes! The getting dressed was the opposite of yesterdays when I put on Tent-like new PPs. I adorned one of the blue ones, just the reverse, these were the ones sent too small a size. Things were getting a little squashed! Tsk!

I hand-washed the Afghanistani made turquoise thick-thermal long-sleeved jumper. Washed, rinsed, fabric-softened, rung and hung it up above the sink, to drip dry. The Coronvurus might be beaten by the time it dries. Hehe!

Then, back to the Porcelain Throne, I fell confident of an evacuation this time.
Which just goes to show you
how wrong a man can be! Apart from a few more rock-hard walnut-sized lumps, a fair bit of wind, and the innards giving me some jip. Humph!

Washed, and went back to the kitchenette, the fog seemed about the same as earlier on.

I’ll have to dish these PPs, too inhibitive, far too small. Will, I ever get a pack of them that isn’t too large or too small? I bet Tena are making a fortune and clearing out there small and XXL stock! Gragfackles!

I did the Post-Dump, Health Checks.

SYS 162, DIA 71, Pulse 89, on the Boots Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by, ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) Guangdong, China.

Body temperature at 37.2°c. Which is lower than it has been for a while, but apparently, still a midge high?

I updated the XL Health Check log, and it was back to the Porcelain Throne again.

No joy, things had not loosened, they’d done the opposite I reckon. Nothing moved, but I knew there was a significantly impacted dollop in there, praying to be freed! Oh, dearie me!

I went in search if a new bob-cap, I knew was in the junk room somewhere.

After an hour or so, I found it, at last, I keep my head warm at least.

The label, a Primark one, tells me this Chinese manufactured Head Heater, hat, was 2.6 togs? I got it on straight away, snug as a bug!

I made a start on the template for today, then began to work on it.

WordPress was messing about with the picture gallery, that confused me a bit.

Four hours later, I went onto the WordPress Reader section.

I came across this photograph on the SD card. Must be another one taken in error? But when and what, beat me. Any guesses?

Time to get some sarnies made up for nosh. Oh, I’ve not seen any signs of the nurse? I double-checked on the Google Calendar – Wot a plonka! It’s next Monday! Still, I can nip the nibbles down the Jenny, Nora and Frank. So, I did.

Returned, and made up a nosh. I rather spoilt myself. Milk Roll buttered pork sarnies, being the highlight.

Flavour Rating: 8/10!

Colin Cramps visited again, but not as bad as is usual.

Sleep came belatedly, whenever Colin eased off, the Thought-Storms took over. But I managed a four-hour nod -off!

TTFNski.

Incorrigible-Inchcocks Saturday 13th February 2021 Diary

Saturday 13th February 2021

Croatian: Subota, 13 VeljaÄŤe 2021

07:30hrs: Better late than never, Hehehe! How I heard the mobile chirping amazed me! Also, Colin Cramps was absent! Yee-Haa!

I woke to the sounds of an incoming message on my Samsung Galaxy S21 mobile phone. My version might look like a Nokia 105, that’s because it is. It was from the Covid-19 Home Testing Programme. I didn’t feel confident in my doing the test really!

I worked out that despite the mess of not getting to sleep last night, I still managed four-hours worth, which is not bad at all. And signs of the flu bug, that had all well-receded this morning.

I got a pleasant surprise when I did the Health Checks. SYS 159, DIA 83, and the Pulse down to 86, all good stuff!

The Chinese (Hong Kong) made by Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd, contactless thermometer, was another pleasing result, back in the green again, showing 36.8°c, down nicely thank you muchly! I took these photographs with the Kodak that to my utter amazement was working fine and dandy? Mayhaps the flu bug had affected the camera as well as me? Hahaha!

Off to the kitchenette, and got the kettle on to make a brew. (Another sign of improvement in the sore throat and taste buds!)

I used the Kodak, again on these shots of the late morning view. I’ll try again when it gets lighter to see how the camera copes. These pictures were just not the same quality of the old, now deceased Nikon, but still. The camera takes an extra shot of each photo taken, and it goes on the SD card? But these Kodak extras, are not recognised by CorelDraw (.th)? I have to keep deleting them. Hey-ho! Annoying, but I cannot find out how to change the settings, not that I’d understand the gobble-di-gook anyway.

The battery light started flashing, so I put the Kodak on charging. But within a few minutes, it had turned green? Why the red flashing? I made a brew of Glengettie, it not as tasty as usual, but much better than it has been lately.

AS I swaying about a bit getting the trousers on, for I’d realised how late it was, and with the Covid-kit possibly be arriving soon, I thought it better to answer the door with proper trousers on as opposed to the jammies. As I began to take the camera off of charge, I heard it clicking, and found out why later, when I uploaded the snaps. Another random picture was taken, it was all shaky like – I’m pretty good at handling these! Hahaha!

Got the updating done, sent off. Emailed link, Facebooking, WP reader and read the WP comments.

Jenny phoned to see how I was, that was nice of her ♥ We chatted a while.

Cleaned up little in the kitchen.

Well, I did sort the top of the fridge-freezer out a tiny bit!

Not too much, like.

I got the potatoes, onions and leeks chopped and into the crock-pot.

I got in a pickle of a mess when I was cleaning the chopping board and knife.

The Peripheral Neuropathy right arm started to jump, twitch and flail about something awful.

No injuries of any sort, but the pot went flying over and hit the window, causing me a lot of time and pain to clean up!

I trod on a tiny bit of sliced parsnip, you would not believe how it made me jump!

Then I got in a panic when I saw the time, so pressed on with starting this blog.

I went to check if the Covid kit had arrived, it was gone 14:00hrs already! It was in the letterbox. I opened the bag and took another one out of it. You should see what they expect me to to get the test done. Can you imagine if the arm, hand or leg kicks off while I’m sticking the swab up my nose or in my throat? No, I refuse to do it!

I can’t even grasp all of the instructions, not that that is important anymore. Cause I’ve got to find the nearest Priority Postbox and the web, and… register myself and the kit before doing the test! It’s weekend, so even if could do it, it would not be before Monday at the earliest!

Then, I’ve got to pack the things in a box, after I’ve made it up. A simple job for someone with cramps, Arthritis, Peripheral Neuropathy, not long had a stroke, now a diabetic, is it!

Then assuming I could manage all this, I’m to send the kit back when done. Which involves making up a cardboard box, packing everything in order as demanded, and means my going out to wherever the Priority post box is located! No!

When I woke up this morning, feeling so much better, then Jenny cheering me up – now all I fester away thinking is; Why do they not know about my limitations. How can they expect me to carry out this test? Others have had a nurse do it for them in their flats? I am now tired, but I have to stay up for the food delivery late tonight.

I feel mistreated, all the cancellations, the offer of someone to visit me do the test, was withdrawn. Then they phoned me to ask when the nurse is calling to do it?

A reet Covid-19 cock-up!

Now I am depressed, sorry for myself, and carrying a… what the word is? Erm, bitterness, with me all the time. Should I snuff it, I’m sure they will then send someone out to help. The medics know about my falls and tumbles, banging into things, my difficulty in walking without the trolley, but not how the lack of attention, recognition, and help, is driving me potty as well! Hehehe! Do they care? Oh, who was that comedian with the catchphrase, ‘Do I look bovvered?‘ or ‘Am I bovvered?’ I liked her comedy. I could do with some humour now—bloody weekends when you can’t speak to your Doctor. If you call 111, everything seems to get more confused.

I got the nosh sorted out and moved ‘snips, carrots, potatoes and onions, from the crock-pot to the saucepan. I added half-a-jar of passata, I and a can of Hubbards Chilli-con-carne. It looks like it might be right, and I feel the taste-buds tingling at the thought of feasting in it!

I washed the crock-pot in soapy water and a non-abrasive (A little like me. Hehehe!) scouring pad. Some spots of gravy had made there way out and under the pot? After about fifteen minutes, I realised the marks were in fact screws in the pot bottom. Har-har!

I put the Made in Myanmar (Burmese), blue zip-up jacket to soak in the sink bowl, and off to get ablutions done. And what a session! A total of only five dropsies! No, I say zero, nada shaving cuts!

The showering had just one clout on the arm against the grab bar, albeit a decent one, the bruised are beginning to look artistic now. Hahaha! No probs with medicating things. And getting dressed was one of the luckiest I’ve ever had for years…

I lost balance that many times getting the lounge-pants and slippers on, it must have happened eight times at least, and not one tumble or fall. I must have had an Angel, looking after me! Yee-Haa!.

Finished off washing and rinsing the Burmese jacket, and got it hung above the sink to drip-dry. Did a little better job if it this time, if I say so myself, which I do. Haha!

A text from Amazon received, about the Amazon-Morrison order being on the way, just one item missing. That Angel of mine is with me tonight! ♥ I think the Angel, I should name her really… has been very anxiolytic to me this past hour or so, as my tension levels seem to be easing, at last.

I got the Chinese made Boot’s ÂŁ33 sphygmomanometer, and the made in Hong Kong, Chinese Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer, and carried out the second Health Checks. SYS was sneaking up a smidge, but the temperature was fine.

Did some work on this blog while I waited for the Amazon shopper to arrive. Not far away now.

The chap arrived, and he put the bags through the door for me.

I got the things put away. I was only half-with it by this stage, though being overtired methinks.

I got the things put away, and pleasant feeling that I need no shopping again for a while.

I got the meal served up. I only served a bit of it, I didn’t really feel hungry, after the turmoil of the Covid-19 test had thoroughly upset the apple-cart, mind-wise. Decent enough tasting nosh, Flavour rating 7.5/l0 given.

Washed, and got settled in the recliner in search of Sweet Morpheus. Switched on the TV as a sleep-aid.

But within seconds, Colin Cramps kicked off like last night, but he stayed a lot longer. Starting with the hands and fingers, later joined by horrendously painful, muscle-twisting agony, in both lower legs! The useless Phorpain gel was applied. After this first session, that lasted for about two hours, I was so sorry for myself, but did nod off at last.

There followed an even more painful cramp-session, and several times I was woken, in discomfort again, and again! I must mention this to the Matron when she calls. It was the worst night Cramp-Wise ever!

Incrusted Inchcock – Friday 12th February 2021

♥ A gang of TFZers at the Pond again – Mary loves that dingy! ♥

Friday 12th February 2021

Finnish: Perjantai 12 Helmikuuta 2021

22:45hrs: Not going to get much done again on this diary. I woke from slumber, more than sleep. The painful dry, sore throat, tight chest, dizziness, loss of balance, shivering, and the inability to organise the littlest thing, (that’s a new one!) and the eyes were running, then the coughing started off.

I’d hoped the Doctor yesterday, would have suggested something for me to take to ease the symptoms, but no.

I got the B.P. taken, the Sys and Dia seemed alright-ish to me. The Pulse was again so very high, this time at 97bpm—the Chinese (Hong Kong) made by, Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd, contactless thermometer, was up in the danger-Red section, at 38.1°c.  Oh, dearie me!

I forced myself to get the updating of yesterday’s minimal news diary done. I was confused and struggling to get things done. Concentration kaputt!

But pressed on, keeping amazingly calm about things?

Sent it off, emailed the link.

To the kitchen, with the intention to get some potatoes into the crock-pot for, later on,  might be up to eating something then. Then I saw the dollop of a stew I’d made yesterday and not eaten, I even tried stirring it to see if it looked eatable. It wasn’t!

I threw it away, took me ages to drain and double-bag it, so it didn’t leak in the chute.

Then I got the new potatoes in the slow-cooker and left then on a high setting. Later, I must remember to keep an eye on it and turn it down to low.

I had a turn, and I decided to sit down for a while. Well, I was feeling awful and considered pressing the wristlet alarm. I fell to sleep for about five hours! I must have needed it, my body was telling me?

I woke, and it was completely disoriented. I took me a while to reclaim my awareness and work out what had happened. Then it dawned on me about the potatoes in the crock-pot, Oh, heck!

Off into the kitchen to check on the spuds… well it’s hard to believe I know, a man of my calibre as well, but I’d not turned the power on at the socket! So, I did!

As I decided I’d better get the ablutions sorted, along came the Porcelain Throne summoning. That was a messy job, painless mind, so no complaints from me. Trotsky Terence was making a determined comeback! And what a mess to clean up afterwards, at least I handily placed. Hehehe!

I opted for a stand-up wash, else I would be late getting to see Deana, to get her to call 119 for me. The teeth cleaning had three dropsies, a neuropathic arm wobble, and a cut gum. The shaving had four dropsies, all razors, and only one tiny cut!

Medicationalisationing went well, and the dressing only one mini-tumble, no harm. I got the trolley-guide and made my way out and down the lift.

Out through the caretakers’ passage, onto Chestnut Walk… Gawd, it was cold out there… Brrr!

♫ I simply must go (But, baby, it’s cold outside)
The answer is no (But, baby, it’s cold outside)
Your welcome has been (How lucky that you dropped in)
So nice and warm (Look out the window at the storm)
My sister will be suspicious (Gosh your lips look delicious)
My brother will be there at the door (Waves upon the tropical shore)
My maiden aunt’s mind is vicious (Gosh your lips are delicious)
But maybe just a cigarette more (Never such a blizzard before)
I’ve gotta get home (But, baby, you’d freeze out there)
Say, lend me a coat (It’s up to your knees out there)
You’ve really been grand (I thrill when you touch my hand)
But don’t you see? (How can you do this thing to me?)
There’s bound to be talk tomorrow (Think of my lifelong sorrow)
At least there will be plenty implied (If you got pneumonia and died) ♫

Sorry about that, I went off track a little there.

Got into Winwood Court, and knocked on the  Wardens, and ILCs (Independent Living Coordinators) Interrogation and body-search room Only Generaloberstess, Ice-skating champion, Warden Julie in, she was on the phone, so no bother, I waited until she’d finished. Then explained the situation, and she said she’d call the 119 number and arrange a testing kit to sent to me. I thanked her and back to Woodthorpe Court.

The ground floor lobby had been creeded, a message on the board was about the laundry room being closed for flooring in there. There was not a soul to be seen. And, I got the lift quickly enough. Both were on the fifteenth floor together when I got to the lobby, never seen that before. Not that it matters, I don’t know I mentioned it now. Haha!

I got back to the flat, and I found a bag on the floor outside the door. Dang, dang, dang… dang! I opened the bag, to find a pair of comfy looking slipper boots! They could have only come from Jenny, I was sure of it.

I got the trolley stored in the corner, and I began to sweat profusely. Bit of dizzy came over me, and the telephone rang at the same time. It was Jenny, I’m afraid that what we spoke about is lost in the ether, I really am not feeling too good again. I hope I thanked her for the slippers. ♥

As much as I love it when someone calls me, at this time, in my state, I couldn’t really grasp what was what. Then Brother in Law Pete rang me. I have the same problem in remembering what we spoke about, which worries me, but seem to have the idea that it was a longish call, and I got more into it as time passed, and am confident that we had a laugh. I don’t like it when this almost instant forgetfulness comes over me. At times today, I’ve had moments of lucidity, short ones, fair enough, then I’d go back into the land of Confusion Conrad. My EQ spoke, telling me I can do nothing to help, go with the flow???

I checked the potatoes, and that I had really switched the power on, all okay! I had another sweating session, it was pouring out? Seconds later, it felt wet because it had stopped and cooled down. I wiped the head, and no signs of any pyretic dampness now? I wish they would send someone to look at me, even if only to convince me that I am or am not going bonkers!

I made my first mug of tea for ages, and I drank it okay, then maybe the taste buds are coming back online? I carried on with the blogging. During which, a message came up. Telling me that the Thompsons Punjana tea had been delivered. News to me? And even I can hear when both bells are pressed at the same time.

I went to check outside the door. Ah, there was the package of teabags! Well, that was right-good timing, I down to the last 50 or so Pumjana, so this perked me up a smidge! I got the bags from the box, into dry storage. I was so pleased that Amazon is still doing these bags because they are my second favourites of them all. Glengettie being the tip dogs.

There I was typing away again. I decided to get the second set of Health Checks done. And make a brew of course, but the tastebuds failed also! The SYS was up a smidge on the earlier results, at 150. DIA 69, Pulse at 96bpm.

The temperature reading made me cringe somewhat. 39.3°c – 102.74f!!! Oh, heck! Still, it didn’t matter to the Doctor when I told her yesterdays readings. But it worries me! The high Pulse rate and Temperature are far above the average expected. You can see by this I clipped from the XL file, if it keeps on going up, I’ll most likely internally combust! Hehehe! Does no one care? Daft question, I’ll take that back!

I was deep in concentration doing the blog, and the worst-ever visit from Dizzy Dennis came over me. I was sat down but still held onto the Hopewells E-plan, 1966 cabinet which the computer is on. I decided to press the panic alarm, I could not get out of the chair, I almost toppled over when I tried it…

Disaster, I’d left the alarm bracelet in the wet room. I gave it about ten minutes until the haziness lifted a little. Grabbed Metal Micky, and took the slowest ever limp to the wet room, carefully and nervously. When I got there and put the wristlet on, I was instantly nauseated, luckily it couldn’t have happened at a better time nor place, with me standing in front of the Throne at the time. I was sick into the bowl, not a lot, but it left a metallic taste in the mouth. I stayed in the wet room for a few minutes, just in case a second bilious bout was due. I began to feel much more comfortable in myself, the dizziness gone, but not the metallic taste in the mouth.

I’m getting miffed-off about whatever unembraced ailment that’s attached itself to me. Cold or flu mayhaps, it’s having a ball, with my body and mind as its toys! I bet Shakespeare would have liked to use this description? Hehehe!

I got back on the computer again, and noticed that the veins on the back of the right hand, were far less prominent than usual? There were far fewer showing through and lost the blue colouring that is normal for me. Hey-ho!

I got the medications belatedly taken with a drink of the spring water. It dawned on me that since this flu bug, I’ve missed no end of medications without realising? Might be a cause of the veins hiding? Then again, maybe not.

I have been thrown out of sync with the sleep being so varied these last few days. And when I glanced at the clock, was amazed to see it was an hour beyond my usual head-down time! Still, I’m feeling a little better since the spewing-up, I pressed on, and read and replied to some comments on WP.

In came another phone call, it was a lady from and about the Covid-19 vaccination. I answered her questions, and when I told her my condition, she said ‘We cannot do you until you are feeling well’. ( Feeling well, me? Come on!) So, I have to go through the laborious time consuming, booking routine again! This is sad, but can’t be helped. I mentioned that today’s body temperature was 39.3°c – 102.10°f, I was after confirmation that it was too high, really. But she just carried on talking as if I hadn’t spoken. So, I slipped in and mentioned that the Pulse was 39.3 bpm. Ignored again. But I understand, though, they must be terribly busy, so took no offence. Oh, dear, int life a bugger sometimes!

I tried again to get a delivery slot for the Amazon-Morrison order for next Saturday. But got it taken as being for tomorrow! Ah, well! The only delivery slot left as well. Luckily there is no frozen stuff on it, and only a couple of fresh things than need going in the already filled to capacity, fridge.

Took the evening medications. Went on WordPress reader, some fantastic photos and blogs on there today. Made a brew, and even with it being Thompsons Punjana, the taste bud would not allow me to drink it. Back to blogging.

A couple of hours later, and I went to make a brew of Glengettie tea. The taste-buds were not working, and it tasted foul. I took a couple of photos, ahead and to the left and right, from the new kitchens thick-framed, view-blocking, impossible to get at to clean, designed by some old-people hating draughtsman, for the Nottingham City Homes Management, who I find it hard to believe they would have fitted these types in an aged people complex (there that’ll get me thrown out, Hehe!)

Still, I’m happier here than at the old house by a mile. Even when in the lockdown, and not seeing anyone for weeks. Har-har! No that’s not night. I’ve seen the odd nurse, the fantastic wardens, delivery people and had a chat with the female ghost who haunts the flat. She didn’t reply, though.

As I stood up, Arthur Itis’s knees and especially Cathys Cartilage made me stop in my tracks. Yee-Gawd the agony! I got the sensation from my EQ that this may be a good sign. If whatever it is that has made into a gibbering, being sick, feverish, sore-throated, coughing wreck, just might be lessening its grip on me? Of course, it might be wrong, but in reality, is rarely so.

I dropped the pants and had a nosey at the legs. Not a pretty sight, Hehe! Something strange and supernatural was going on because the bullet hole from when I first got shot wound was clearly visible? Impossible innit? Cathy’s Cartilage had hardened a lot? The regular spider, trunk and reticular varicose ones, seem to have almost disappeared. Not to mention the hair on the knees that have also quixotically gone AWOL?

There’ll be reason and or cause for this. But it beats me what it is. The best guess is, it’s the effects from the obstreperous mysteries of Woodthorpe Court; the phantoms, kelpies, spectres, poltergeist, spirits, manifestations, zombies, demons, cacodemons, rakshasas, hellions, aliens, extraterrestrials, hobgoblins, apparitions, elfins, pishogues, apparitions, gremlins, ghosts, and goo-like ectoplasms! Thus, turning me into the querulous, jibbering wreck, I am today. Hehe!

Further proof that the flu bug was easing off was when I glanced at the clock, expecting to see something like 14:00 to 1500 hrs, it was 19:30hrs! This bug has done a good job on me, I’m disoriented, confused and fed-up. I pray it is not playing a cunning ploy with me and returns full-blast again. But I do feel a bit better, at this precise moment. The shivering, sweating and eye aches have reduced greatly. God willing! Fingers crossed. And some else, the wee-wees have dried up, I had many less than usual today? I know I’ve not been drinking so much tea because the taste-buds failure makes the tea taste horrible, but I’ve more than made up this in the fluid intake with the spring water. Confusion Conrad is visiting again. Haha!

Did you notice that? My sarcasm and humour are returning! I must be getting better!

I’m suddenly feeling so weary. No idea if I’ll be able to sleep, so I kept on blogging on this post, see how it goes. It’s 22:00hrs now.

I’ll have to get my head down, I’ve not… Fungleboggles! The potatoes. I quickly got up, but no serious loss of balance and off to check the crockpot. Which was looking fine, such are values of using a slow-cooker,

But, in my haste to get to the kitchenette, I clouted my shoulder against the door frame, knocking down some hand-washed clothes. This kicked SSS Shuddering Shoulder-Shirley off. And bending to pick up and sort the gear, BPB Back-Pain Brenda joined the list of activated ailments. I felt like things were coming back to near normal now! Hahaha!

I took an extra pain-killer with the much, oh, so very late evening medications.

I turned off the computer, and I got a nosh of sorts made-up, and I thought this time, I might enjoy eating! I savoured the overcooked potatoes though, I’d added a drop of Soy sauce, and, could taste it! Methinks the linguae are slowly getting back to working again. Grrreat! I just left the tray on the second-hand, imitation leather, splitting various places, and with a broken wheel, chair. And put the TV on, that’s bound to send me into the land of nod. I thought.

But no! Unaware of what I was watching, I waited for the commercial break to come on. Then, Colin Cramps started in the left hand, and sleep was out of the question. I got the Phorpain from the Ottoman, and I rubbed it in well, but it didn’t seem to ease things at all. Then I tried, an extra Codeine 60g, again without getting any relief. I was getting more and more frustrated. A couple of hours later, Colin Cramps eased off in his attack on the left hand. Minutes later, it was the lower left leg that caught his venom! Phorpaining, the leg, was so painful getting to it, that BPB kicked off. I was in near agony for another hour or so, until Colin got fed-up, and departed.

Somewhere around 03:00hrs, it was, I think, I got off to sleep. And apart from one taking a wee-wee, slept for 4 hours, waking at 07:00hrs, feeling much better!

Intaglioed Inchcock -Wednesday 10th February 2010 Diary

♥ TFZer Lillie – I wish it were true! ♥

Wednesday 10th February 2010

Tuesday 21:10hrs: Gave up trying to get any sleep, and got up. Had a wee-wee, made a brew, and begot another wee-wee.

A persistent dry cough seems to have developed?

I made a start on updating the Tuesday diary and pressed forth with it for a couple of hours. Had a wee-wee, made a mug of Glengettie tea, and the stomach started rumbling and grumbling a little threateningly. Off to the Porcelain Throne with as much haste as I could summon.

I got myself seated, and thought I’d sat on a thysiastery! Gawd, did I go through it. Trotsky Terence ensured that the splattering, sploshing and misery of a vicious aching stomach, as things flowed, shot and squirted out! I put this miserable evacuation down to my having had a little too much flavouring and peppers in the CCC (Chilli-Con-Carne) last night. I was feeling so nauseous, queasy and weak afterwards. Never has one man, had so much cleaning up to do after an evacuation! The only thing good about it was that the nearly all liquid vacated product was cleared with one flush! The clearing and cleaning of the splashes and myself took me ages.

A weakened, slightly demoralised, stomach ache-suffering Inchcock, returned to the computer, realising that had he not got up so ridiculously early, it would have so much worse a catastrophe, as the gurgling started, if I was still in the recliner at the time. I certainly would never have made it to the wet room in time! This thought made me feel a little better, not well! But not so bad. Of course, the tight innards and stabbing pains continuing told me to be ready for another calling to the Porcelain Throne Thysiastery again soon!

I had another wee-wee, washed, and went to make another mug of Glengettie tea. And started the Health Checks off.

The BP, had a low SYS of 150, DIA of 72, and the Pulse was 84bpm.

In Hong Kong, by the Chinese Harpin Xian Di Company, a reliable contactless thermometer gave a good reading in the green, of 36.7°c – 98.06°f. Which is fair enough for me.

Another wee-wee, then I got back to updating the blog. Finished it, had a wee-wee, washed, made another brew (Thompsons Punjana this time), then posted the Diary to WordPress. Pinterested some snaps emailed the link, and I went on Facebook catch-up.

The innards were actually getting more bothersome now, a second calling is on the cards soon, methinks.

A wee-wee and mug of Glengettie, and snapped a half-decent morning shot of the view from the thick-frames light and view-blocking kitchen window.

Then I went onto CorelDraw to get the templates built. I had a decent crack at it and got a couple made up.

Then a dual-reasoned visit to the wet-room, on my way to get the ablutions started, and gurgling from the innards, along with simultaneous involuntary movements from the rear end, forced, me to imitate a Cruise Missile, and go like the clappers to get to the Porcelain Throne (2) in time! I made it by a whisker, Phew! I much different evacuation this time. I think the Constipation Konrad is fighting back for supremacy, he’s still a long way off of winning, but the product was like mini-waffles, painful for the first time in five or six visits, but still not messy. I look forward to visiting the Throne for the third time, with fear, anticipation and dread!

Not really, I just thought it was a humorous thing to say. I’m going batty, losing my trains of thoughts, and going batty, you know?

However, there was a silver-ling detected, in the wet room, and I was in there for a long time with the Throne visit as well, but apart from the accompanying wee-wee on the Porcelain, for over an hour, I did not need a wee-wee! Leery-Smile-Given! Which didn’t last for long, this was going to be one of my better ablution sessions. Still, I had a few decent ones lately!

Teeth cleaning, I lost another chunk from the top molar that is breaking up, but only one drop of the toothpaste tube! – Shaving, five dropsies, three nicks, and I broke one of the razors… Please don’t ask how; one-second there I was shaving my neck hole, humming away merrily to myself, and suddenly bits of plastic and the blade just dropped through my fingers down my back, and onto the floor?

The showering was not so good either. This was worrying a bit at first, and slightly, erm, crude, but I’ll tell you. I’d been round the rear-end having the crevises shower gelled, the old loofah did its job.

As I turned to change the heat level on the panel, the adventitious right leg Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance kicked-off, with a short but brutal flailing performance, and had me down on one knee – which Arthur Itis and Cartilage Cathy were not happy with! Argh! Getting back up (Thank heavens for the grab bars), spurred BPB (Back-Pain-Brenda), into giving me what-for as well! Double-Argh!

At least the feet and legs, apart from the knees, were looking good.

If anyone had told me 70-years-ago, that I’d end up with all these ailments, have a heart operation, lose my memory, start stuttering, get shot, twice! Have trouble with the ears and eyes, contract Rheumatoid Arthritis, a Duodenal ulcer, get Peripheral Neuropathy, a stroke, diabetes etc. I would have laughed at them! Sad innit?

Anyway, medicationalisationing went well.

I made some brekkers. And tried to get a Morrison delivery slot for next week. It would have been easier to but some Rocking Horse sh…, but never mind.

I got some waste bags made up and put them in the walker-guide bag in the hallway.

Off to the kitchenette to make another brew of Glengettie. And I took four pictures with the Canon camera, of the beautiful morning view as the sun proffered shadows, and tried to come out to melt the earlier snow.

The dry coughing is no better yet.

I got an email from Sister Jane, with a humorous letter (photo), from the Nottingham Post newspaper, letters section. I had to smile at it!

I got the silly ode-blog made up and posted it off.

The Sainsbury order is due tonight, far too late for me, but it’s the only one I could get. Grumble-, moan, sob! Sainsbury’s email informed me that the shortages on order, were: Disinfectant, antiperspirant, shelled peas, leeks, and Sourdough bread, when I tried to scroll down further, a message informed me: Well fancy that!

With last weeks black-spotted potatoes, short-dated cooked meats, and no bread etc. how do they keep customers? Obvious to me, we proletariats, are stuck at home with the lockdown, have little option but to use them (Sainsbury’s). Iceland sent me green potatoes, chicken with one day’s life on it, and no sandwich thins or leeks, oh, and a leaking bottle of liquid soap! Asda refuse to come inside the building! Life is getting messier all the time!

To try not to fall asleep and miss the Sainsbury order, (I know, it’s still five hours away, but with no sleep last night, if I did drop-off, it might be for a long time? I got on with doing the templates again.

I spent several hours trying to get the Kodak camera to work. It didn’t help with not knowing what the hell I was doing, should be doing, or even had done. But I kept my wonderful 100% record intact, and failed totally!

I cried, and then I tried again to get a Morrison order (through Amazon) in. Whippee! Got one for the morning, twixt 8>10AM I also ordered some more Thompsons Punjana tea bags.

Of course, I forgot all about the Sainsbury order coming this evening. Will I stay awake, or not? Wot a clot! Took these shots while waiting.

I found this photo on the DD card, why I took it. I’ve no memory of!

I was well done-in, by the time the intercom chimed out, from the Sainsbury driver. He asked why he had to come into the flats? I went down to meet him, we went up, and he deposited the nosh in the hallway. To shattered to make a proper meal, and the coughing and shivering started. At least I had a reet-treat, in some French Horn cake, I thought of Janet Aarron when I ate them, she has a fancy for them.

Washed the pots, took this snap of Chestnut Walk.

Got down and soon drifted off, but the coughing kept waking me up.

Not feeling good at all.

Tuesday 9th February 2021

01:45hrs: I woke and laid there in the c1968 recliner for a few minutes. Bit of a dream I think I’d been having, drifted away, then the Thought Storms needed absterging, but they were coming thick and fast for a time. They were finally conticented by the need for a wee-wee arriving, taking my attention to more urgent needs. And need couldn’t have timed it better!

I heaved my astronomically and enormously flabby-bellied body up onto the feet. I caught my balance and started the few paces to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket). I let out a naughty version of an ‘Ouch!’, as I trod on a piece of the mustard, honey & onion Pretzels. I must have been at the nocturnal nibbling again, Tsk! It didn’t half hurt! Hahaha!

A complete change in the wee-weeing style this time. Of the IRPT (Indefatigably-Relentless-Painful-Trickle) mode. And with having to stand there holding the bucket for so long, Colin Cramps kicked off! And with fidgeting about, the hole in the foot made by the pretzel was leaking blood on the carpet! No doubt about it, I was in a right pickle! Again, I was happy this time that there were no CCTV cameras in the flat!

I somehow or other, possibly a miracle, but I got a plaster on the sole of the foot. It may not stay there very long, mind. Took the morning medications, and went to the kitchen to get the kettle on. The plaster fell off of the foot, but it didn’t matter the bleeding had stopped altogether. (These pieces of broken Pretzels can be deadly, Hehe!) By, they ain’t half-tasty!

Made a brew of Glengettie, took another IRPT wee-wee, the flaming tea was cold by the time it had done sprinkling. Cracked on with the updating of yesterday’s diary. I seemed to get it done reasonably quickly, I hope I haven’t missed owt off or made a mess of it.

I posted it off and got the Health Checks done. The Boots Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by, ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China, had the SYS as 159, DIA 83 and Pulse 86 bpm. Looks okay.

The Chinese (Hong Kong) made by Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd, reliable easy to use and contactless thermometer, gave a reading of 36.7°c, which was well in range, and on the green. At least something is consistent. I may regret saying that next time. Haha!

Got the email link sent off, Pinterested a few photographs, and went on the WordPress reader section. Had another wee-wee, not so bad this time, of the UTD (Unwilling-Trickling-Dribbling) variety, far less painful, too!

Went on the Facebooking catch-up. Read and replied to the WP comments, took a wee-wee, made a brew off Thompsons Punjana tea, then started this blog going.

Things were going slower in the productivity stakes now? Why, I’m not sure, because the ailments are all being kind to me now? Still, I pressed on for an hour or two, then decided to take a break and get the potatoes into the crock-pot and seasoned for later on.

I did some more updating, had a wee-wee, passed wind, and decided to get some brekkers, so off to the kitchenette, to see what was lurking in the fridge to tempt me. I took this shot from the thick-framed, light and view-blocking window, of Chestnut Drive. It felt a lot colder out there now?

No signs of snow, though. I cobbled together a snack, made another brew, had a wee-wee, washed my hands, and settled at the computer, food on a tray, and carried on with this blog. (Oh, I am a good lad! Hahaha!)

Getting breakfast sorted, and the Porcelain Throne was needed.

Off to the wet room. Another victory for Trotsky Terence, but not messy at all this time! Washed and back to collect the brekkers.

How’s this for luxury then? I pulled out a draw, put the plate in it, and worked on the blogging while nibbling it! Hehehe!

An hour or two later, I washed the pots and got ready to get the ablutions sorted out. Not such a good session this time. (Not complaining, I’ve had two reasonable, nae, excellent ones in a row, so, fair enough!)

The teeth cleaning went good. The shaving caused me more bother than it has for months. Several cuts, none of them were really bad. On the last cut, I dropped the razor, and it felt awkward to retrieve from where it fell; the mop bucket! Via the sink, the tray, the wall and finally down into the bucket behind the tray. This caused me to trap my hand pulling the razor back up, and I fell forwards ontop the tray trolley, ending up with an odd and painful bottom thumb area!

I’d like to take this moment, to thank and curse SSS (Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley) and Dizzy Dennis) But I dare not, because the language I’d have to use would be too naughty. Credit to their perfect timing, though!

The medicationalisationing was easy enough, well, apart from getting some ointment on the underfoot cut, from the Pretzels – Not a lot of people can say that you know. Hehehe!

I had another wee-wee, then sorted and made up four black bags from the bins, and a box of recyclables and mounted them on the trolley-guide. No easy task! I’m not sure how I managed it, but I got out through the door with the bogey and boxes, without any Accifauxpas, Whoppsiednagleplops or mishaps whatsoever! Smug-Mode-Class-One-Adopted! I put the black facemask in the trolley bag.

I limped differently, down to the waste chute in the lift lobby. I say different, cause with the Pretzel cut being tender, and Cath Cartilage now playing up, finding the least painful way was not easy, and involved some semi-ballerina like movements in testing them out in turn. Hehehehe!

I was determined not to trap my finger or hand in the chute-room, or drop anything, or hit my head on the cast-iron cover. And I did avoid all these things, and felt a smidge of pride in my efforts being successful! Oh, yes!

But on the way out, I hit my right shoulder on the edge of the doorframe. It was a fair whack, I can still feel it now, four-hours later! Humph!

As I returned to the elevator lobby, I noticed that some work was taking place on the end wall. That or it was some good graffiti. Haha!

Getting a lift down so I could take the recycling bin to the bin was not easy. I felt jinxed! The left cage arrived, someone was in it, I didn’t want to share, so smiled at the lady, and waved her on.

Then I realised I had not put my mask on – no problem I thought, and I went into the carrier to get it out to put on. And realised I had put in a black glove, not the mask! Things were getting back to normal for me, it seemed! Then the right lift went straight by me on its way down? The left one left by me going up, and missed me going down? The right elevator missed me going up… I took the photo above in the reflection of the lift door while waiting…

Aha, it stopped on the way down! I’d almost forgot why I was going down in the first place! Not really! The lobby was sealed off, I’d forgotten that was happening today, Tsk! I went through the caretaker’s entrance out to the bin. The caretakers were out there, so I got a chance to talk to someone, I’d nearly forgot how to do it. Hehehe!

I got back up in the elevator quickly enough, entered the flat, and had a wee-wee. Got on the computer and emailed Jenny to see how She, Nora and Frank were getting on. Then the door chimes rang out the tune, ♫ I only want to be with you ♫.

It was two blokes wanting to come in to check the fire alarm. I returned to the computer while they did their duty. A minute later, I thought I’d ask them if they wanted a drink. I hobbled into the hallway, and they were gone! Ah, well!

I decided to get some templates done, or at least try to. I got one finished, one! Pathetic!

An email came in from Jenny. The gal is getting a little miffed with the lockdown, just like I am, I asked her if she, Nora and Frank had been given their vaccines yet, tried to cheer her up. Although she retains her sense of humour. She emailed back, but I read it and deleted it, and can’t remember it now. Tsk!

I got some yellow peppers done for the CCC Chilli-Con-Carne) diced them and added them to the saucepan of CCC.

I washed and changed into the made in India, Tru-Size® (that aren’t), pyjama bottoms- lounge- pants.

Got the CCC served up with a few potatoes from the crock-pot added.

I’d somehow used too much chilli powder or the yellow peppers because it was a little bit too hot for my tastes. But I still ate it all, and I savoured and degusted it.

Which satisfied my phagomania. Put the things to soak in the washing-up bowl.

I timed it perfect for catching the start of two half-hour episodes of ‘Tales of the Unexpected’. I relished the thought of enjoying them. Hah!

I fell asleep at the first commercial break, and woke up as the second episode’s ending tune was playing. Makes me sick the number of times this happens to me! Gribblebonks!

For hours after that, I kept nodding off and waking a few minutes later every time; I gave up, got up, caught my balance, had a wee-wee, and stayed up. Sleep attainment of not to be enjoyed tonight!

What makes this worse, is I have to stay up late tomorrow, for the Sainsbury’s food order, it was the only slot available.

Worra load of old tosh people have given me about getting bored in old age – nowt to do, kipping all the time…. Chance would be a fine thing!

Sunday 7th February 2021

Dydd Sul 7fed Chwefror 2021

23:00hrs: I woke in a confused condition, and lay there, half-hanging-out of the c1968 recliner, with paperwork all over the carpet and ottoman.

But the brain recovered and started stutteringly working. I realised that all the form-filling that arrived and needed sorting must have been on my mind while sleeping? I was probably perusing it in my sleep, which is surely impossible?

I found the resolution to rise up on my feet, catch my balance and go for the daily early morning wee-wee. It was a long trickling job, it stung a bit too. (I later checked the NHS Wee Colour Card, it was on three, which is good) During which, I decided to get on with the updating of the Saturday (Gawd, I hate weekends – I’m not all that keen on weekdays nowadays actually!) I’ve no templates done, and I still need to create some graphics to make any. Tsk! The plan was to do nowt but concentrate on getting on with it!

I opened the computer, well, turned it on, and opened CorelDraw and WordPress. But my plans had to abandoned as off to the Porcelain Throne I trotted!

Precisely the same type of evacuation as yesterdays first effort: No pain, no bleeding, no mess! Grrreat! All done and washed up within a few minutes! Back to the computer.

Pressed on with finalising the Saturday diary, did well, the ailments were hardly bothering me at all? Amazing! Smug-Mode-Engaged! Got it posted off, emailed the link, and Pinterested a coup[le of snaps. Then went on Facebooking.

Set myself ready to make a template for today’s blog, got it created, and a second-calling to the Porcelain Throne arrived. (Just like yesterday?) And turned out to be another carbon copy of that 2nd evacuation like from Saturday!

Sloppy, in messy slithery dollops, stunk awful, and much bleeding from Harold’s Haemorrhoids. More time was lost in cleaning things up, but today it was not such a lousy job, cause I got to the Throne in time. Washed and disinfected, and back to the computer again.

I read and replied to the WP comments. Went on the WP Reader Section, and finally, after hours of being up, I made a start on this blog. Two-minutes later, I needed a wee-wee, washed the hands and made a brew of Co-op 99 tea.

Then, CorelDraw went to get some graphics made-up, a long job, but I enjoy doing them, oh, another wee-wee first. Started graphicationalisationing at around 03:00hrs.

Around 05:30hrs, a third Porcelain Throne session had to be tended too, and I do not kid you… it came so suddenly, straight to the wet room, and somehow, I got there, but only just in time. Trotsky Terence is now in full charge of things. I dug out and took an anti-diahorrea capsule. Then back on with the graphics.

I got the graphics done, but not until 08:50hrs! I was ready to go back to bed, Hahaha!

Seriously though, for a moment. The ‘runs’ must be connected to yesterdays bad-do when I just gave up doing anything and felt rotten. Not good anyway. Not identifiably poorly, like in a haze? I could only sit down. Now the third Throne visit in what, eight or nine hours?  Mmm? Same again, but messier! Eurgh! Had a shave and shower, which went okay.

I took a snap of the bleeding eye, I think it is looking less bloodied now!

I got Josie’s nosh prepped as far as I could, and heard a clunk? It was a parcel being put through the door, a small one in an inner box? It was the Alert Wristlets for Warfarin. Although dearer than the last ones I bought (I break them regularly you know, Tsk!), they were not very thick or wide-fitting.

I nipped back to do some work on the blog, and I had problems with the WordPress Editor. The scroll bar had disappeared, making it hard work to change colours, modes, add graphics… well, everything really. I searched on Gooogle, to find that many other people were having the same problem, the only reply to one question from WordPress only worked o the new block layout, and I can’t get my head around that at all. I tried sending for help on all three channels available from WordPress, they were either gone, dead, or turned off! I turned of the blog and put it back on, but that didn’t help, then it dawned on me – Josie’s meal!!!

I hobbled hastily and got it ready, but it was twenty minutes passed when I got it to Josie’s flat.

Still, she was on the phone to her sister, and she didn’t seem worried, bless her.

I rushed around cleaning up after the cooking, and got mu saucepan filled with peppers, peas, chilli-meatballs, sliced some sweet carrots, onions, seasoned with sea salt, Oxo meat and vegetable cubes, and a pinch of chilli powder.

I went to move the potatoes, that had been in crock-pot for around six hours, to the saucepan. But they were rock hard still? If anyone likes green or hard potatoes; I can recommend Iceland to send some!

I left the saucepan on a minimum low heat and gobbled up a banana. I felt quite honoured at Iceland, sending some fresh foo that was not sour, green, mouldy, out-of-date, and edible. I must send them an email thanking them.

I had a bit of a job getting the rubbish bags gathered and sorted into the cardboard box. Some heavy loads were in it today. BPB kicked off as I bent to pick the package up onto the trolley guide, and has been lingering on and of ever since.

Of course; this Back-Pain-Brenda agony doesn’t affect me in the slightest. No, a man who’s suffered a change of heart for a plastic and metal one, a Barium meal gone wrong, a burst duodenal ulcer, been shot twice, fell of the back of a lorry on the A52, had a 100% record in his squash games, boxing matches, (he lost every one). The got Peripheral Neuropathy, a leg ulcer, and next, a stroke, and still didn’t complain later in life when he got Saccades, started stuttering, and was diagnosed as diabetic. No, a little thing like BPB isn’t going to bother me, oh, no… Well, maybe a bit then! Hahaha! Even when I got to the chute-room and trapped my knuckle on the cast iron drop lid, I merely laughed it off. Ahem!

On my hobble back to the flat in the lift lobby, the silent suddenly hit me.

In there, I could not hear the blasted ‘Hum’, or any of the machinery noises either, which were there when I got back in the apartment, of course?

It dawned on me that I had not taken the afternoon medications, nor had I done the Health Checks, either! So, I did! The SYS reading may impress Tim Price, 147, Dia 71, Pulse 95 – Grrreat! I can report to Tim, I took them very late in the day, and after three Throne-dumps!

Or was it four? Ha!

Time to get something to eat, the Inchy-made nosh of, Meatballs, onions, sweet carrots, potatoes (canned ones now), peas, black beans, parsnip, and yellow pepper. Riskily flavoured with chill powder, sea salt, squid vinegar and vegetable and meat Oxo cubes. It smells pleasant enough from where I am in the next room… Crickey, I have to go check it in case…

All okay, it’ll be ready in a while, five or ten minutes methinks. Had a spoon of the mix, the onions are terribly tough (thanks again to Iceland), everything else seems fine and dandy.

The meal looked a treat, a delight, appealing… but it wasn’t! The expensive sweet tomatoes had not cooked and were too hard to eat easily, I picked them out and dished them. The roll was a smidge stale tasting, I dished them. Everything else tasted fine… apart from the well in date lemon yoghourt, that had gone off! So, I dished it! Overall taste: 7/10. I put the things to soak in the sink.

A quick look to see if owt worth watching on the bo and, then getting washed and changed into the jammies. Then a prayer for Josie not to wake me again this week. She didn’t bless her!

I turned the TV on, and then I nodded off. Woke ten-minutes later, thinking it was time to get up! As I struggled to get free of the recliner, it dawned on me what time it was, and I plonked back down in the chair. Minutes later, I was in the land of nod again, dreaming about a river in New Mexico, and searching for my lost camera, which had a 2-foot long lens extension? Two owls hooted as I passed them by. Other things happened, but no idea what now? I think I know where this dream came from, a site on WordPress. I woke again, thinking that a few minutes had passed, and four hours had!

Got up for a wee-wee…

Saturday 6th February 2021

Spanish: Sábado 6 de Febrero de 2021

01:00hrs: Woke, no wee-wee wanted? I was in a somewhat vague haze to start with, just went with the flow… sort of.

Up caught my balance, and off to the kitchenette, and made a brew of Glengettie tea. Then back into the main junk room with the mug, and got the computer on… but not for long, an urgent message from the innards sent in haste to the wet room and Porcelain Throne.

And what an odd session it was! I got settled, and the movement began at the slightest effort from me. It slid out painlessly, undemandingly, smoothly and pretty quickly, too! No signs of a struggle, and absolutely mess-free!

Add to this, that there was no bleeding whatsoever; and for a while, I thought I must still be laying on the uncomfortable, c1968 recliner, and dreaming that this was happening?  Amazing!

I got the updating all finished and posted the blog off. Sent the email link. Went on Facebooking catch-up. That cost me two hours, but I do love it so. But today, I have got to get a few templates done, I’ve none left to use!

I made a brew of Thompsons Punjana, and the second call to the Porcelain Throne arrived, and very urgent too! In fact, an embarrassing leakage arrived before I got settled down on the Throne. (Shame and self-loathing time!) The flow was stickier but still painless! Soon over, and left me with a filthy gooey mess to clean up on the floor, Throne and myself! This put me galvanically into Depression Defcon Two-level! Cleaning up again, took me yonks.

The Subconjunctival haemorrhage eye was stingy just a bit, no real pain as such.

I read and replied to some WP comments, got CorelDraw on to upload photos, and then made a strat on graphic creating, for the template making. This is going to be a mammoth job.

First things first, though, a wee-wee, washed and made a mug of Glengettie.

The view from the kitchen window had acquired a beautiful red tinge. So I took this picture of it. Not very good, but of course it was the Canon Camera being used.

I made the tea and used the Evolve Hypromellose eye drops, I had leftover from the last time the blood vessels burst. I struggled just like before to get the stuff into the eye, and lost a lot of it down my face. I wish the hospital people would have told me how to put them in, cause I can’t get the hang of it. I’ll recheck the eye later on, but now, back to the CorelDrawing.

Stretching to use the picker upperer to retrieve a dropped letter, I had a tumble and clouted my head and right shoulder. Henceforth things are using photographs as reminders and details remain sketchy until I seemed to come back as I was making a brew. The intercom flashed, it was the Iceland delivery, that I’d forgot all about coming.

Took the bags through to the kitchen, I do recall being aghast at the green potatoes in the large bog of potatoes delivered, and struggling to get the things the freezer as it meant bending down, which was currently very painful.

Feeling unwell, tired and only really want to go back to sleep?

I think I did some CorelDrawing, but not much is there as I type this, in the morning.

I stopped everything, to go and get the ablutions tackled. But was just not up to it, the head was spinning, the shoulder and head aching, and I just sat down to rest.

Not sure how long for, must have been a few hours or so. I constantly got up, checked lights, windows, faucets etc., I couldn’t get top sleep, and the Thought Storms were rampant, getting no rest at all.

When the door chimes rang out.

I struggled with surprising difficulty to the door, it was the postman, who immediately showed concern over how I looked and inquired if I was alright, “Would you like me to call you an ambulance?”

He delivered a letter and a parcel.

I think Sister Jane rang. All confused.

Just what I needed in the envelope, a multi questionnaire from Nottingham City Homes to be filled in. I’ve already got the two NHS ones, the monthly passing and BP one, and Covid-19 to fill in, and can’t face doing them how I feel, Humph! The box was the Amazon Dettol that the tracker tells me will be here Monday.

I left everything and sat down again, and stayed there for hours, getting up only for wee-weeing occasionally. Eventually nodding off.

I woke about 23:00hrs, feeling horrifically unwell, but not poorly-sick, really. I got some nosh made. Didn’t eat much of it.

Then got the computer on to finish this post, and let the mind stew as it was going to anyway.

Igbo (Nigeria): Wenezdee 3 Febrụwarị 2021

01:30hrs: I sneezed as I sprang back into semi-consciousness, to find my blubberous, belly-ridden body bent, balancing part on, and little off of, the ÂŁ300, second-hand, decrepit, c1968, rickety recliner, and one leg sticking up on the swivel chair? Vague memories of a dream, I was on a barge or boat on a canal, fog, falling into the water? But they faded quickly. And as I began to try and straighten out my torso legs and arms, the need of a wee-wee arose…

How I wish I’d had a CCTV fitted. And attempted rising back up could be recorded for posterity. The urgency of the wee-wee forced me to throw caution to the wind, and I blundered free of the recliner, no catching my balance, and Cartilage Cathy gave way, and down I went on the worst of the two knees, of course!

Unbelievable! I landed right next to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket), I whipped down the PPs, and hardly needed to move as I was in the perfect wee-weeing position near the bucket! Bloody-good job too! For thing torrented out and being so far down near the container. The splash-back did not spray back out. Talk about mixed feelings at the same time, well almost. Shock at going over, pain on landing on the knee. Amazement at finding myself in the optimum position for the evacuation, No splash-back damage, and free of PMD (Pre-Micturition-Dribbling) or PMAD (Post-Micturition-After Dribbling).

I knelt there, part-surprised, part-giggling to myself, part in agony… and pondered over how the hell I got done in the first place – and then the wish that I’d got a CCTV to have recorded the events. I believe it would have gone viral on YouTube! Hahaha! I immensely enjoyed the fact that I’d got away with things without any injury…

But that was before the struggle to get back up on my feet, although a recording of this, would have people laughing, watching it! I utilised the swivel chair to get myself to the recliner, and after some failed painful attempts to get back up, the next one was messy. Still, I successfully somehow got my bum into the recliner, and I was aching all over, and yet half-smiling at the situation I’d got myself into. And I still wish they had fitted CCTV in the room. Hehehe!

I’ve only been up for about ten minutes. I’ve got Cartilage Cathy all inflamed. Then, I masterly and cleverly, but unintentionally collapsed on my knee. I had a wee-wee, and spread the quilt and cushions all over the place in my painful strugglings, to get back into the chair! What a dĂ©paysement from the usual morning antics.

I nervously got up from the recliner, but things went well, other than an acute pain with the right knee, I seemed to have got away injury free! Which I liked!

Cleaned the bucket. No teaing it, no washing, no nibbling either. I cracked on with updating yesterdays blog. I had messages from My Norton, that took a good while to get sorted, luckily it did it all for me, I just clicked a few buttons.

Despite Neurotramitter Nicodemus and SSS (Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley) both doing their best to handicap my progress (they did a fair job of this mind), it took a while.

But I got the blog updated and sent off to WordPress. Then Pinterested a photo or two, they went on Facebook catch-up.

I considered making the first brew of Glengettie of the day. But resisted it, and pressed on with Starting this blog going.

I decided to stop and get the Ablutions done early, just if the Sainsbury order came early… Hehehe! I am a fool!

I got into the wet room, and as I got out the teeth and shaving gear, I noticed that the PPs were getting low. Not desperate yet, if things don’t start over leaking or bleeding, I’ve got two weeks stock left, but I will have to order some more today at some time, but of course, I am only allowed one order a fortnight now. Fingers crossed!

The pathetic and not-fit-for-the-job pads are still there, so if things go pear-shaped, I’ll just have to manage with them, mayhaps.

Then the need for the Porcelain Throne took precedence. And what an odd session this one was. DESB (Daily-Evacuation-Stakes-Battle) between Trotsky Terence and Constipation Konrad, was another victory for Trotsky. But it was a closer thing today, I’d still say the equivalent of a 3-1 win, though. And nearly as messy as yesterdays was, but not meatball or torpedo-shaped, this was a new one to me, not in the Poo-Passing record book!

I’d call it, erm… er… well, mottled-multi-coloured kale shaped, decorated with peanuts?  Sorry but that is how things looked to me, worryingly. The camouflage colouring was a new one too. Silver-Lining-Discovered: The content disappeared with just two flushes!

I cleared the nasals. Then did the teggies, and started shaving. Had a stand-up shower, throughout all of these activities, I only made five dropsies! Smug-Mode-Considered, but I thought better of it, it’s early yet!

Towelled off, and tackled the medicalisationing. I was applying the Germoloid ointment, and knocked the PPs off of the floor cabinet – I didn’t fret about, I left them, to pick up later, after all, nothing to break there is there? I carried on with the Harold Haemorrhoiding.

I filled the small tub with warm water and Dettol. To clean the fungal lesion thoroughly before creaming with Dakacort. And I dropped the tub (Thanks, Nicolas!) Guess what the water fell on? Fungalglobberastions! The PPs!

I panicked, and grabbed at the PP’s, but knew as soon as I had them in my hand, that several would be of no further us they were soaked through! As I was putting the salvaged ones back on the cabinet corner, I was so angry with myself and started to curse, and the spectacles fell off of my head! A lens bounced out, and my cursing got worse!

I took the photos of the legs, at least they were looking very fair this morning. Then, I started a sneezing bout, that if I had got my glasses on, would indeed have had them off again! Mixed fortunes abounded in this session! I took this snap of the moon en route.

I got dressed, put the Indian made Tru-Fit (which they are not) lounge pants, my made in Myanmar (Burmese), zip-up jacket, and the Korean made slippers on.

And got the heath Checks done.

The made in Hong Kong, by the Chinese Harpin Xian Di company, and a most reliable contactless thermometer, read 36.7°c, spot-on that was!

The dependable, trustworthy, Chinese manufactured Boot’s Sphygmomanometer, read a decent 15SYS, DIA 79, and the pulse read at 78. All looked good there!. Well, why not, I’m fed up of hearing me moan today!.

I investigated the NCH (Nottingham City Homes) letter that had been posted through the door. Monday 8th February, the are breeding the floor on Winchester and Woodthorpe Court ground floor lobbies, so no access in or out of the flats will be available from 08:00 > 14:00hrs. When the creeding is done. I’ll have a word with Anne Gyna, Aorta Heart-Valve Arnold, Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, and Diabetes Donald, and ask them not to attack me at this time of day on that Monday) Cause the Paramedics will not be able to gain access. Hehehe!

Carried on updating this blog, as I awaited the Sainsbury delivery. I got an email from the company: No leeks, onions, Vodka, or Mackerel. So, only three things this time, a vast improvement, but unfortunately, ruins my plans to make a Chilli-Con-Carne. Still, plenty of other stuff in stock, and Sainsbury’s are delivering bread this time! According to the email, anyway.

Taking a look outside to see if the food van had arrived yet, I shot this view of the moon from the thick-framed, light and view-blocking kitchen window. A shame the Nikon phone has died a death, this Canon one, is not suitable for taking evening and early morning shots, at all. Never mind. Huh!

Cathy Cartilage nearly had me over as I was picking the tea up top take with me. Luckily, being an athletic young man, in perfect physical condition, with reactions of a viper… Ahem! I managed to save the day by grabbing at the edge of the counter’s corner. Then I cleaned up spilt tea!

The intercom chimed out, the Sainsbury’s delivery arrived. The driver burst through the outer lobby door, letting it bang too with a loud thud, that made me cringe! I shall be really popular with the other tenants now! I indicated a shh to the driver! Nice chap, he’d been before. He packed the things in the box and bag for me, put them through the door. He started to shoot off, but I stopped him, and means of thanks, and gave him a can of pink gin. He departed, and let the door slam closed behind him again. Cring, winge and fear of being unpopular reined!

I got food in the kitchenette, checked the items and dates on them. Three days on the sourdough bread, and bread thins. Four on the milk roll loaf! Today’s, on the cream eclairs. I got the bread’s in the freezer, leaving out the sourdough on to have tonight.

I got the grapes, butter, cooked meat, pepper, yoghourt and beetroot in the fridge. Tomatoes in the cupboard, as I did with the seasonings, canned foods, and the passata. The cleaners went under the sink, with the bleach.

Oh, and I washed some grapes to have with the nosh!

The bag of mini potatoes was only dated for the 5th. I can’t do the CCC (Chilli-Con-Carne) I’d planned now, cause somehow I forgot to order the minced beef! (A few moments of self-loathing, and low morale, followed).

I’d bought a small bag of the Mini-Potatoes and a large bag of small potatoes. As you can see from the photo I took of the mini ones (above), they were blighted terribly. I washed and put a few in the crock-pot for later on. But had to dish a lot of them.

Not that I can blame anyone really, with all the wet weather we’ve had, I half-expected this problem. A change in plans for my nosh was made then. I’ll go for these potatoes, curried baked beans, and tomatoes with some bacon methinks. I’ll chop some tomatoes now and put them with the beans in the saucepan.

I set to updating again, the weariness was beginning to fall, and the landline chirped and flashed. It was the extremely nice and patient DVT (Deep-Vein-Thrombosis) lady giving me a check call to see how things were going. Made my day it did! The usual questions about medication problems, sleep, the Covi-19 vaccine inoculations, am I eating properly, and many more, she let me answer each one, even though in the excitement of getting a call, brought Stuttering Stephanie into action, the lady was supportive with me, Bless her cotton socks.

I made a brew of Glengettie and carried on with the updating for an hour or so.

It dawned on me, (Have you ever been dawned on? Hahahaha!), that the wee-wees were a little scarce today, yet the blader feels as if I should be wee-weeing more?

I decided to make a start on the dinner prepping.

I opened the can of baked curried beans into the saucepan, and I halved some Vitorria Cherry Vine tomatoes. Then added some Cirio Passata and stirred it up well.

I’d got the ready cooked crispy smoked streaky bacon to add to it before serving.

Back to the computer, I still felt like I ought to be wee-weeing?

Updated this a bit further on, and out of the blue SSS started giving me a bashing, it lasted that long, I gave up trying to type at all.

The craving for food meant the end of anything but getting the meal served and eaten – so I did!

What a gannet! Curried baked beans, crispy bacon, added passata and fresh tomatoes, grapes, and marvellous sourdough bread that soaked up the juices delightfully!

Incidentally and by the way, those naughty, wicked, not-permitted, fresh cream doughnuts, that were obviously sent on a whim, they certainly weren’t ordered by Inchie! As if I’d buy anything so unhealthy! I only ate them both because I don’t like throwing food away. Ahem!

Got the pots soaking in the washing up bowl. Settled to watch a Kitchen Nightmare episode. Drifted off to sleep during the first set of advertisement.

Woke up with a mega-starling jump a couple of hours later. The right eye was blurred, no pain at all. Not like Saccades Sandra affects me, this was more like when I burst a blood vessel in the left eye and had all that hassle getting it sorted out at the hospital. But this was the right eye, so I assume its a bit of grit or something. But most uncomfortable.

It didn’t stop me nodding off again, and having a great five-hour long sleep! Yee-Haa!
