Inchcock Today Tue 5 July 16: Visited Olive, investigated the local stabbings and boy, did I wee-wee!

01

Tuesday 5th July 2016

Stirred to life around 0435hrs, untangled myself from the non-working £300 second-hand recliner and to the WC throne for a WCHD session. Not a good one, Little Inchies lesion was bleeding for the first time in ages, and Hem Aroid joined in too. I did me best to recall the many dreams I’d knew I’d had during my many short spells of actual sleep – no luck, but I felt the chasing and rooftops had been in there somewhere?

No dizzies yet though like yesterday. Went into the kitchen and Arthur Itis joined in with the other ailments. Made a cuppa and took the medications.

Ballet2 Got the laptop on and finished the Monday post, then did some graphics to use later on here and the TFZ site.

I vignetted this one after making it, not too bad I thought?

I’ll post this on the TFZ site.

Brother-in-law Pete rang on his new G4 mobile and the reception was good to start with but I kept losing him later, eventually it beep beep beeped and we were cut-off.

10dHe sent a photo of the Bus Display in Nottingham he took with the camera. He did it in wide mode. Super one this one is! The clouds stand out lovely.

I called him back and asked him if he could go back to G3 on his phone, then I felt the warm wet sensation in my lower regions and had to return to the throne and clean myself up and re-apply some blood anticoagulant again. Good job I have a good supply of kitchen towels. Hehe!

Did some more graphicalisationing on CorelDraw8.

Tried to sort out the drawer in the kitchen, but could not grab a hold of the screws due to Arthur Itis.

Then did my ablutions and showering, interspersed with a few more wee-wees.

Got myself polished up and went to see Olive. Glad to say she was a little better than yesterday. We had a cuppa, a delightful chinwag ( I love listening to her tales) and then she applied the pain-gel for me. She had some glass jars to take to the recycle bank and I took them with me along with those I was taking.

Bid Olive a sad farewell, and set out to take the glass jars to the Bottle Bank at the end of the road. Met Robert the ‘I’ll do it for you if  you pay me’ caretaker. Tried to find out how much he’d charge me to do the painting in the wet-room for me as soon as I get the second storage thingy sorted, but he seemed reluctant to tell me? He did tell me about the stabbings that had taken place nearby in Sherwood, and those on North Sherwood Street in town. He would not tell me why the police were attending the flats with their blues and twos yesterday.

I called in to give Julie some letters I’d received for Margaret, the flat’s previous tenant.

Back to the flat and a marathon session on Facebook and Coreldraw8.

10dGot the fodder going. Had a tinned Sweet & Sour chicken, beetroot, oven chips, wholemeal bread, an overripe banana and a lemon yogurt.

Rated this as 7/10. The chips were okay, that’s all I can say. Hehe!

Must get out tomorrow and get some fresh vegetables in stock for the Crock-Pot.

While stopping mid-meal to have yet another wee-wee, fatigue overcame me, but no more dizzies today I’m pleased to report.

Ate the nosh, well, nearly all of it. Spent the rest of the day moping about, but didn’t start falling asleep as I often do, as nipping to porcelain kept me active. Huh!

When it came to trying to get the head down around 2130hrs, the mind would not let me. I remember it was gone 1240hrs, my last trip for a wee-wee.

Amazingly, once I got-off, I didn’t go again until I woke up at 0600hrs!

Inchcock Today Wed 6th July 16: Kitchen Whoopsiedangleplop – then Dizzies, Humph!

IBAFOL4a

Wednesday 6th July 2016

Stirred to life, of sorts, at 0600hrs. Memories of the dreams lingered a bit this time. Usual theme, me being chased on and over rooftops, up mountains, falling into a canal this time, near a lock with soap suds on top smelling like TCP? Surprisingly, I could swim in this dream, as in true life I’m scared stiff of deep water? There was a lot more detail that I lost before I could get out of the £300 second-hand stuck half up and half down not working recliner chair to write them down… Tsk!

The first of many wee-wee’s followed, WCHD job, bit of blood from the rear end but not much. I found I’d left the heater on in the wet-room from the showering yesterday… huh, that’ll please the the bank manager no end!

To the kitchen to make a cuppa and take the medications. Of deary me indeed: Whoopsiedangleplop! The stack of storage draws had collapsed, some split open and there was a hell of mess to sort out from the contents that had spilled out, bent lids, sprays, cleaners, rags, bags etc. All lying in an untidy heap spread on the floor and laying in the spilt liquids, disinfectant, soda, washing up liquid etc! It must have made a right noise when it collapsed. Took me ages to sort it all out temporarily at  least. New storage box’s needed again now – I’m not going to get the same ones as these again though! Feeling a bit low now!

Had a job to find the hearing aids though, last night I’d detached the tubing and left it in soak to free the wax in them and I thought I’d left the main bits in the usual (That Auntie Kath left me) porcelain pot, but no. Found them in the kitchen on the counter, I reckoned the falling stuff from the five collapsed John Lewis storage draws and contents, must have knocked them to the back of the counter? Then I had to search all through the contents of the collapsed boxes to find the hearing aid batteries!

The falling mass of plastic, cleaners and medical accoutrements must have made a terrible noise, not that I heard anything like, hope it didn’t bother my neighbours? Wonder when it happened?

Even more depressed now.

10eGot the laptop on to start this post off.

The fingers were giving me some hassle and sticking occasionally.

Couldn’t spend too long a time on it, as I want to get to the shops using the first L9 bus (0930hrs) so I can have time to visit Olive when I get back, before she is picked up and taken for her meal by her son and daughter.

0815hrs: Saved the work and closed the laptop, then got in the wet-room to do my ablutions… remembering just before I did, that I’d not taken me medications with all the kerfuffle with the Whoopsiedangleplop, so I did.

Soon sorted, although I did manage a couple of nicks with the razor in my rush, that took a while to stop bleeding.

I set out, taking the  rubbish bags to the chute on the way down. Not in the best of spirits. Humph!

Caught the bus to town to the terminus on Queen Street and down to the City Centre. Walked down into the slab square and caught a tram to Hucknall and the Tesco store. Off the tram and walked through the Park & Ride, over the road and  into the store.

I had a good wander around, nosing out any new products, getting stuff I didn’t mean to and forgetting the stuff that was on the shopping list I’d made, that was still back at the flat where I left it. Huh! I did get some English vine tomatoes, half red-half yellow to try, some cooked meats of various types, bread, naughty snacks, french toast, Marmite crackers, chicken thighs, a jar of sweet & sour sauce, a turnip, tomato puree, cooked pork chunks, honey roast lamb slices and a packet of Fresh Cream Horns jumped into the trolley… I also got a packet of jam doughnuts for the Winwood Tenants Social Hour tomorrow.

Paid the lady on the check-out, and then the fun started… I’d rather overdone the shopping again and carrying the heavy two bags of the fodder back on the Tram and then bus caused me bother.

10gBack to the tram station and caught it back into Nottingham. This proved to be a  hassle filled journey.

When the tram started off, it had few passengers and things were okay – then as it filled with Nottinghamians en route, I found myself squashed against the window with the bags on the floor by a rather sweet smelling large lady. It filled up even more and I moved one bag onto my knees to make room for the incoming masses. I don’t know how the tram moved with all the folks on it – I realised I’d have a job to get off with the bags and get through all the standing passengers in time to get to the door for  the bus-stop I needed.

10hAs we went through the Radford area I managed to take a photograph of the open market there.

I think the changeable weather had confused us poor Nottinghamians somewhat, everyone was either well wrapped up or in summer wear?

We went on and as the tram neared the Theatre Royal stop that I required to get off at, I felt a right fool trying to manoeuvre myself with the bags to the door. As I got up I had a bad dizzy-spell. The large lady next to me, who was getting off at the same stop, immediately informed me I had ‘Gone all white’ and grabbed the heaviest bag and carried it off the bus for me. The lady who was sat opposite me held my arm as we got off. I did feel a fool! So kind of 10j 10kthem, one asked if I wanted an ambulance calling? I thanked them and red facedly sorted the bags to a more even weight distribution and made my way to the Queen Street L9 bus-stop.

The police were there collecting some Nottingham shop-lifters at the bottom of the street. I felt much better physically and all signs of the dizzy-spell had gone. I took what I hoped would be an atmospheric photographicalistion of the Council House.

I still felt thankful for the ladies help on the tram, but rather embarrassed, mortified and humiliated over the incident. Decided I had to inform the Doctor on my next visit. (This is due this Friday 0830hrs, must remember to take urine sample and not eat  anything tonight after 2200hrs before the CDH test with the nurse at the surgery.)

10eThe last L9 bus had long departed, so I caught a 40 one, that drops me off on Sherwood Vale Hill.

Always a bit nervous when I use this bus, because crossing the road after dropping off is a nightmare when you can’t move as fast as you would like to, to avoid the speeding cars coming up or down the hill around the sharp bends in each direction.

Still, it’s not to far to walk.

Although on this occasion I was a little bit worried about another dizzy coming on I must admit.

In the flat, feet, legs and arms aching, I had along wee-wee and used the throne first thing. Put the fodder away.

10lToo tired and weary for some reason to do any laptop work, I got some small potatoes in the oven and made two honey roast ham sandwiches.

Sliced some of the expensive but deliciously sweet tomatoes, added some sliced onions carrots to the plate.

When the potatoes were cooked I added them and had a very nice meal indeed. A worthy 8.9/10 despite my feeling a little under the weather.

I became suddenly apathetically languid, morose, lethargic and listless. It was made worse after I’d watched the Portugal v Wales game. Humph!

No more dizzies, but I didn’t feel so good.

Hey-ho! TTFN

Inchcock Today Mon 4 July 16: Nottingham had policemen all over the place today?

04

Monday 4th July 2016

Woke 0415hrs, desperate once again for a wee-wee and WCHD (Water Closet Heavy duty) job. Not a nice or easy experience this morning.

Made a brew and took the medications and I was soon back in the WCHD tea

I got the washing ready and went down to the laundry room – oh dear… Some one had left their washing in washer number two, and dryer number two was still out of action, seven days now. Shows how bad the situation is, tenants were arriving in the hope of getting their washing done, even at this ungodly hour of the morning, but they had to go back to their flats chuntering curses.

01Tha one washer I had to use was playing up rotten. It didn’t help that I usually avoid using this one cause of the complicated mechanical’s like. I had no idea what settings I eventually got it to accept, just waited for it to finish, which it did, leaving the freshener capsule undiluted and the clothes rather wet. I got the washing into the one dryer and started it going. After having to clean the filter that someone had not done last time it was used.

Another lady arrived in the hope of using the dryer. She had to try again later.

Back up, and into the WCWW (Water Closet Wee-wee) again! Updated the work I was doing on WordPress, another WCWW and back down to retrieve the washing 50 minutes later. The dryer finished a couple of minutes later, and I removed the attire and it had dried okay but left little marks all over the stuff that I had to pick off when folding and bagging them. Huh! I cleaned the filter and back up to the flat.

WCHD & WW on arrival. Worrying this?

Put the togs away in the airing cupboard, made a cup of tea and before I got the laptop back on to update things again, another WCWW had to be performed.

Over the next few minutes, I had two phone calls one after the other. First BJ telling me about some Old Nottingham Trolley Bus’s being shown this morning in the Slab Square. Had a chinwag.

Then Brother-in-law Pete rang, but the connection was awful on his new mobile, breaking up all the time, not sure what it was he rang about, to be honest.

Made another cuppa, to replace the one that had gone cold, and the phone rang again a third time. BJ confirming the timing of the bus show in town.

Did some graphicalisationing and posted them on the TFZ Facebook site, and did the one for the top of this page.

Got the letters ready to show to Deana, if she is in today that is. Confusing letters (2) from the British Gas (Who supply the electricity, with two account numbers again!) Also a letter from FraserBrown solicitors about the house sale that needs to be explained to me. Sad innit?

Got the ablutions and showerisationing (Do yer like that word? Hehe) done.

Off to the Winwood Community Shed to find Deana. She wasn’t there, nobody was. So I left a note on her desk for her.

To the bus stop in good time to catch the L9 bus to town. Had a chinwag with the bloke form the 14th floor while waiting for it and on the journey.

10dDropped off on Upper Parliament Street and walked down Clumber Street and through to St Peter’s Gate.

There was a sense or feeling that things were too unnaturally calm…

An expectancy of hassle, bother or upset to arrive any minute? I felt oddly rather uncomfortable? shook it off and ventured to St Peter’s Square 10ewhere a sign on the church front offerred Conducted Silence?

Then I nipped into the M&S food-hall. Where once again, I got caught out by their habit of putting the price ticket for the goods, sometimes above the produce sometimes below!

Saw a new product, called M&S Navarin of lamb (Neck fillets) mushrooms carrots shallots leeks, only a 500 g meal at £4 (I thought). I treat myself and put one in the shopping basket. Got some other bits and paid the lady at the checkout. Had a dizzy as I was getting served. Tsk!

I went up the escalator and out into the sunlight, and it dawned on me how much I was charges. So i got the receipt out and had a look at it. The flaming meal was £8 not £4! Ah well, just hope I like it!

10gAt this point I realised that there were many police around all over the place. An ARV black Land Rover slowly lulled up outside M&S at the junction of Regent Street as I stood there. Police out all over town?

10fI wandered up to see the old bus’s on display in the City Centre Slab Square.

Strictly, Look don’t touch notices all over them.

Understandable really.

Had another dizzy while perusing the vehicles, so decided to make my way up Queen Street to catch the L9 bus back to Woodthorpe Court and the flat I call home.

Nice feeling that was, going home!

As I got to the stop I looked at the 10hwonderful sky and clouds and noticed the gargoyles on the roof had been cleaned.

Took a photo (Left) to use later to try and doctor with someones face later, for a laugh like.

Caught the bus back, once more having to fight to keep awake and not miss the stop.

Got in flat, put the food away, but got the Lamb Navarin (I’ll have to look this up) in the oven, and remembered Deana. Hobbled swiftlyish to the Community Hut to explain after spotting the wrong address, old one on British Gas letters. And Julie was in with Jenny. Explained cock up with letters.

10jJulie said Deana was very busy with the police dealing with an emergency.

I’d spotted the police car as I walked to the hut.

Nice to know Nottingham had some policemen left free and they were not all in the City Centre today?

I wondered if they had expected a right or left wing demonstration? I didn’t hear or read anything about this?

Back to flat, remembered Olive visit, went to see her and explained and apologised for not coming earlier and she kindly told me I could go see her tomorrow after 1400hrs, when she returns from seeing her daughter and grandchildren. Looking forward to that, I love listening to her tales… and her massaging me with the pain-gel too! Hehehe!

10kBack to the flat, nervous at leaving the fodder in the oven cooking, all was well, I reckoned it needed a few minutes longer.

I noticed that far away on the footpath hill twelve floor below, was a gal making the best of the weather. Bet it was a good book she was reading. I noticed that in the few minutes between each shot I took, her shoes had moved? Just thought I’d mention it like.

10lGot the fodder presented.

I reckon it was equal top rating for this one, 9.54/10.

But, at this price (£8) I might not be treating myself again too soon.

Another dizzy as I doing the washing up, and I abluted and settled in the Second-hand £300 recliner to watch some TV. Amazingly I did not fall asleep… too often. And when it came time to get the head down, I did without any hiatus whatsoever.

But it didn’t last, Tsk! An hour later I started the waking up regularly routine, telling myself to remember what it was I had dreamt, forgetting it, having a wee-wee, nodding off again, waking up telling myself…

Humph!

Inchcock Today Sun 3 June 16: Went to see Olive… everything else drift into inconsequential.

01

Sunday 3rd July 2016

10dJumped awake around 0500hrs, the view outside, although the rain and wind had abated, looked dank and dour.

No memories of any dreams.

The £300 second-hand recliner was in the down position, remnants of food scattered around. Oh dear me!

Another urgent visit to the porcelain carried out, stomach still rumbling. Felt so tired still, not surprising really, not much sleep last night.

Laptop on graphics and WordPressing were done.

Cuppa and medications taken with a few biscuits, extra Peptac gulped down.

10bWent to see Olive, this cheered me somewhat. Olive massaged in the pain gel, and we had a little natter, I took her photograph as she looked out of her window and pointed to an area she went scrumping in 69 years ago and told me the tale. Love listening to her.

I went down for me walk to the shops to get some bread and potatoes and left Olive in the laundry room.

Walked up and through parts of Woodthorpe Park, then down to Mansfield Road, up the hill and down into Sherwood.

10gCalled at the Wilko store and got some more of their citrus scented antiperspirant spray, refuge sacks and some more Dettol while it was still on Special Price.

10eVery few folks about this morning, well, lunchtime. I proceeded in a Southerly direction down the hill to the Co-op store. Purchases some wholemeal bread and large potatoes, with which to make some cheesy potatoes later.

On the trek back, up the Winchester Street Hill, I passed (slowly) some Blackberry bushes at the top, and 10ftried my best to take a photograph of the bees on the flowers.

I took about eight shots, but sadly only this one one came out anything like okay.

Huh!

Onward and back to the flats.

As I entered the foyer, the laundry room door was open, and I noticed that Olive’s togs had finished drying. The second dryer was still not working. I thought I’d take them out as she had left her bag on the machine. Folded them and as I was doing so, another lady came in to do her washing. A new gal, I pointed out the foibles of the machines and got it going for her.

Back up on the lift with the gal and had a little chinwag. The lady dropped off on the eight floor, and as I got off on the twelfth one, Olive was coming out to fetch her laundry. She was wobbling a bit as she was earlier today. I was glad I could save her a trip down and up anyway. I just hope she didn’t think I was a bit cheeky in doing so.

To the flat and got the potatoes in the oven baking ready to have a tin of cheap hot dog sausages and some tomatoes later on.

Updated this tosh and did the graphic.

An hour and a half later, I tried to cut the spuds in half and not splitting the husks this time, and emptied the flesh into a bowl and mixed with cheese, salt, vinegar, butter and rosemary. Had to bash them up for ages to get them to mix properly, for some reason.

No bad burns either… well, up to now anyway. So, tinned sausages, baked cheesy potatoes, beetroot, tomatoes and some bread for din-dins today.

P1110258Possibly did to many of the cheesy baked potatoes…. (Well alright, I did make too many of the cheesy baked potatoes) but I ate them all, they were delicious!

So palatable, they should indeed be barred! Hehe!

I watched the France v Iceland match and was more proud of Icelandic players and their fans than ever. Shame the French had to beat them. But they played good and gave me the feeling that they will beat Germany in their next match. But who knows?

Stayed up very late again, mostly cause each time I tried to get to kip, the urge to go for a wee-wee appeared and I had to climb out of the £300 second-hand recliner chair in haste and hobble to the wetroom… it got a bit repetitive. Humph! Each time I got back and struggled back into the £300 second-hand recliner chair, I could feel the birth of the next visit coming on! I got a bit concerned over this. But the calls of nature kept coming… Tsk!

Last visit remembered was about 0250hrs! Woke at 0430hrs and started again.

Inchcock Today Sat 2 July 16: Wind and rain persisted today, and the stomach churned. Hey-Ho

04

Saturday 2nd July 2016

Woke around 0300hrs with a start – remembered dreaming about many things without any detail in depth? The Wales v Belgium footy match in which I was there as ball-boy, being pursued by angry crowds again, on rooftops slates, chimneys, falling, raging rivers and having a toenail transplant done by my mate Duncan Robertson? Nodded off again, despite thinking I needed to attend the porcelain.

KipStirred once more at 0440hrs. The £300 second-hand recliner in the down position, headphones half on and half off my head, glasses skew-whiff, TV playing the Last of the Summer Wine DVD, empty crisp packets, empty biscuit box and empty Lime flavoured tonic water bottle,  spread around me with and a teaspoon on my chest?

What had occurred for me to get into this state was a mystery.

As I struggled out of the £300 second-hand recliner, I nearly went over when a dizzy hit me as I hobbled to the porcelain throne. Where passing things was painful, but no bleeding this morning. Confused, I sat a while thinking. How could I remember what happened hours before, but not recall what happened afterwards? Why did I have so many different dreams? What day is it?

The morning sky was pretty, but the wind was howling all day long, and soon the rain had set in with a vengeance as well.

10a 10bNo more dizzies as I made my way to the kitchen to make a cuppa, cleaned up the mess around the chair, and too the medications and started the laptop.

The tea went cold, so after starting the diary I made another brew. The milk had gone off! I got the milk out of the fridge and gave it a good sniff, it smelt alright to me? Made another mug and the milk was definitely off! Opened a new long life tetra-pack of milk and tried again… alright this time.

No actual dizzies for a while, but a sensation of I was about to get one persisted? then the stomach started rumbling, so I took some Peptac.

Checked the emails and I’d had six emails from Amazon telling me parts of the DVD order had been dispatched. Due to be delivered today. I must get to see Olive today also. I want to have a natter with her and take some photographicalisations of her.

After updating this to here, I went on Facebook for a while. Too long really, but I got carried away, 0830hrs got the ablutions tended to.

Feeling refreshed (Stomach still churning though), made a cuppa, back on the laptop. Dare not put TV or DVD on cause with the headphones on to listen, I wouldn’t be able to hear the knock on the door when the Amazon DVD’s are delivered.

Continued to spoil myself on the internet, Facebooking, Messaging, WordPress and emailing away for hours.

Nipped to Olive’s flat and explained why I couldn’t come to see her today as I was waiting in for the DVDs to arrive, had a quick natter and said I’d call in tomorrow if that was alright with her. She said, people will be talking about us with all this meetings we were having – but then they will be talking about us and giving others a rest! Hehe!

When I got back to the flat, one parcel had been delivered, of two DVD’s – Huh, the only time I go out for a couple of minutes and it has to come. Luckily there were only two DVD’s in the pack and they fitted through the letter box though. Episodes 10 & 11 of Law & Order – Special Victims Unit. I can let Olive watch them later when the others arrive.

Felt peckish earlier than normal today, despite the rumbling innards. The Crock-Pot vegetables, parsnips, swede, carrots, red beans, mushrooms, orange peppers and seasoned with the out of date Bisto vegetable stock came out alright, nice and tasty.

10cI took a photographicalisation of just the first spoonful instead of the whole lot.

Getting artistic in my old age!

Shame about the shaking hands when I took this, not one of my best efforts I have to say folks.

Also the mess in the Crock-Pot porcelain container took hours of soaking then scrubbing to get it cleaned. I think this mess was due to the fact that yesterday when I originally intended to eat the fodder, it was not cooked through and I turned it off and reheated it today, and the stock seemed to attach itself to the porcelain like super-glue! And burning me fingers in the process was pestiferous. Tsk!

Ate it all up with a few bread thins, followed by a banana, some lemon cream biscuits and more nibbles later. I shouldn’t have wanted or needed all these extras, especially with the stomach murmuring away, but I did.

I took the medications rather later than planned, took extra Peptac.

KipAfter finishing the pots and trying not to look at the state of the kitchen, I got myself settled as the wind and rain became epic outside, and got the TV on to watch the Germany v Italy match.

A corker of a game I thought.

The first half was so close and technically played out (Not my words, those of a commentator) which I found fascinating, the second half was fantastic.

For all the Italian’s diving, fouling and technical (There’s that word again!) ploys, Germany looked beaten at the end of the extra time and they went to penalties. I felt overjoyed when the Italian ploy of putting on two substitutes with good penalty taking skills in the last few minutes failed and they missed their penalties!

I tried getting to kip, but it took until well passed 0200hrs before, with the accompaniment of the wind and rain and visits for a wee-wee, I eventually got off proper like.

Inchcock Today Frid 1st July 2016: Few dizzies, spending again, but no Whoopsiedangleplops!

04Friday 1st July 2016

Woke around 0400hrs, tried to recall the dreams, although how I managed to have any with so much waking up done during the night is a mystery.

Seems it was the usual me being chased around corridors by people with bad intentions… or so I think.

No dizzies or headaches this morning.

I gently manipulated myself out of the refusing-to-operate £300 second-hand recliner and hobbled to the throne. A bit of blood from the rear activities, but Little Inchy was blood free. Good that!

P1110241I made a cuppa, took the medications and got the vegetables prepared and into the Crock-Pot on low and cooking.

Parsnips, swede, red peppers, onions, carrots and seasoned them with the vegetable stock and dab of vinegar.

Has a wee-wee, blood-free again (Good innit!) and got the laptop on to finish yesterday’s and started today’s diary off.

WordPressed and found that Mike Steedenski had published a book entitled: The Shop that Sells Kisses – Poetry with a hint of magic. I had to order it, got it from Ebay… no Amazon I mean. They don’t half charge for delivery! I’m hoping Mike wasn’t sober when he wrote these. Couldn’t resist getting it, I’ll comment on it after I’ve read it… that’ll be good! Haha!

Carried on updating this, then did some graphicationalisationing on CorelDraw8 – that incidentally when I opened it, informed me of updates needing to be installed. But, I can’t work out how to find out what they were? Tsk! Still, it’s working.

10a

AndyI got an email from the Surgery confirming the time for the next INR blood test, none this week coming, next on Friday 12th July @ 1115hrs.

They also mentioned they all had a laugh at the doctored photograph I sent them on my email to get an appointment.

Nice that!

I set to doing a graphicalisation then of Mike Steedenski and Shirley, his better half by far.

Did a graphic of this book as well and sent them to him via email, in case they might come in handy for 10bhim on WordPress or anything.

Made another nice strong cuppa and had some biscuits.

The head and the dizzies spells were lingering a little bit. Humph!

The rain was forecast for later. So I had a jolly good shower and did my ablutions. I used the citrus shower gel this morning, shaved without getting any cuts. And used the Wilko Citrus antiperspirant spray!

I took the rubbish bags to the chute and got down in the lobby. The tenants Jenny and Frank were not sounding or looking happy bunnies today. But, we had a natter on the bus to town. I also read my Victoria Wood book, and that had expsensive consequences later!

10dI got off on Huntingdon Street and walked over the walkover way into Victoria Centre (Mall).

The street below was certainly not short of buses as I passed over and took a photo of them.

Into the centre and wobbled along and down the other end.

10cFoolishly, I wandered into the HMV shop and perused the DVDs on offer. No intention of buying any at all, what with me ordering the Law & Order Special Victim ones from Ebay earlier, and them telling me as it was my first order, they would deliver them Tomorrow! I dare not say how much I spent on them. Shame mode adopted! Unfortunately, I espied a box collection of Victoria Wood DVDs… ‘Victoria’s Empire’, a documentary – ‘Victoria Wood Live in your own home’, a one-off 50-minute show – ‘Pat & Margaret’, one of, if not perhaps the best film I have ever seen! – ‘Victoria Wood Presents’, Feature length drama focussing on modern day Kipannoyances – ‘Victoria Wood as seen on TV’, 420mins, some of her finest programmes for the BBC and ‘Acorn Antiques’, her most popular episodes.

Then, saw some Last of The Summer Wine 29 & 30, with One of my comedy heroes in them. Eric Sykes (Spike Milligan and Norman Wisdom the others).

For some reason, the others in the series were selling at £9.99 and ran for 10 hours – this, the one I wanted, was £17.99 and ran or 9 hours! Huh!

Thoroughly ashamed of myself, I paid and embarrassedly I walked to Tesco to get some bread. More money spent!

In Tesco, they were cunningly selling the new Dads Army DVD (Oh why did take that alleyway! Humph!) at £8 instead of £12… guess what…

I also got some bread, roast potatoes and blackcurrant jellies.

As I made my way through to the bus stop, I popped into the Little Waitrose store (I was beyond all hope and help by now with the spending – Grr) and got some tomatoes and Marmite rice cakes.

As I got on the bus, I dropped my bus-pass and it fell under the bus. Hell of a job getting back up again, and this started the dizzies going again.

Had to fight off falling to sleep on the bus on the way back, but fortunately Jenny and Frank caught the bus further on and this helped me.

The rain was just starting as we all entered the foyer.

I wee-wee’d and put the fodder away, and red facedly the DVDs on the overcrowded shelves. – I don’t think I’ll live long enough to watch them all? Hehehe!

P1110247Got the dinner/supper prepared. Vegetables (Hot-Pot), roast potatoes, potato cakes and… no, change of plans. The vegetables are not done… Humph! Opened a tin of chilli to go with the other stuff…

Well that was the plan, but the tin of Chilli had one of those ring opening things and the ring came off as I grabbed it and the tin opener didn’t have anywhere to clip onto the can… Any-road, this was the meal.

Stayed awake for the Wales v Belgium match, what a corker it was too! I know I have some Welsh blood in our family, and was so proud of them. “Byddant yn canu y Cymoedd heno!” (They’ll be singing in the valleys tonight!).

I was so excited I couldn’t get to sleep afterwards… Tsk!

Inchcock Today Thu 30 June 16: Winwood Community shed Tenants Social Hour Today

30 June 1950 – Inchcock

Inspired by last night’s dream… or nightmare?

Thursday 30th June 2016

I stirred around 0300hrs, presumably due to a dream I was having, as I jumped awake with memories of it musing around my brain. T’was about my younger years, the house seemed very lifelike and details I recalled about the kitchen were amazing – unless I’d crated them in my dream? The gas stove with the Iron irons heating up on the rings were level with my head. I struggled to get them down to use to iron Dad’s uniform on the table, cleared of what bit of food and utensils there were on it, and a blanket put on top to iron over.

I had to stand on one of Dad’s cobbling tool boxes to reach the irons. Every time I tried, the red hot irons would go cold the instant I touched them? I went into the front room and got a dustpan of burning coal from the fire and put in in the sink? Put the irons on top of it and thought I’d done well, but the irons melted and ran down the plug hole? Dad came in and took off and utilised his belt on me, using the buckle end on me… this started all over again and nothing changed?

The reason I can remember so much detail, is cause I got up at that ridiculous hour and wrote it all down, then went back to kip hoping the dream would not reappear. It didn’t.

I woke again around 0430hrs, and was soon on the porcelain throne, no bleeding at all anywhere, that was good!

Made a brew and got the laptop on and wrote about the odd dream, and was inspired to make the graphic above.

Thought of the thinks needing to be done today, glad that no medical appointments were due. I’ve to sort the rubbish bins out. I’ll go to see the gorgeous Olive to have a massage with the pain-gel. Get the thing ready for the Winwood Tenants Social Hour and attend it. Hopefully if I get any photographs I’ll go to Asda (Walmart) in Arnold and get the photographs printed off. Must remember not to get any of those lamb shanks again after the disappointment of last lot.

Had a quick bash on Facebook.

Called in on the way out to see Olive, who considerately massaged some pain-gel into my shoulders.

Off to the Tenants Social Hour at the Community Hut. Very few folks there today, but all seemed to enjoy it all the same.

P1110236 P1110237

To the flat and got things for the trip to Arnold. Wee-wee’d.

Down to the lobby and chin-wagged with some residents also waiting for the bus. I was soon in Arnold and  getting the few photographs printed.

Got some stuff from Asda (Walmart), TV paper, prepared swede and carrots, Marmite crisps and some Orange chocolate digestive biscuits.

Walked over to the Futon Store and had a wander around. They had a lot of the Lamb Shanks in the fridge, no wonder if others had bought some like the last lot I bought. I bought more stuff there, some Bisto Vegetable granules at what I thought was an amazing price at 39p a pot… found out later they were well out of date. Tsk! And, some more biscuits.

P1110239Got to the bus stop, passing the famous disappearing decaying bench, now less one more slat.

Hehe!

The rain started as I travelled back to the flats, but not heavily.

Had a dizzy as I sat there and although I was wedged in the seat with a bag at my feet and one on my knees, I thought I was going to fall out of the seat? Then fought off the urge to fall asleep, managed it though and did not miss the bis-stop for Woodthorpe Court flats.

Walked through the rain and back to the flat. Got in, letter delivered with the INR blood test results from the QMC Anticoagulant Therapy department. Good news, it was almost spot-on target. Next date given for me to make an appointment with the surgery.

AndyEmailed a request to the doctor.

I added this graphicalisation wot I dun of the two Doctors.

Just for a bit of fun like.

Dr Mona Vindler

MBBS, MRCGP, DRCOG, DOccMed London 1988

Dr Andrew Flewitt MBBS BSc (First Hons), DRCOG, DOccMed London 1983.

A pair of good doctors. Mona Vindla is my caring, straight forward and humorous friendly General Practitioner doctor.

They are located at Sherringham Park Surgery on Mansfield Road in Carrington.

I got the nosh on and had a call from gawd knows who. Asian sounding woman who I just could not understand a word she was saying. I apologised and explained in the hope that she would understand me and rang off. An hour or so later, she rang again, same procedure.

P1110240 Got the nosh cooked and I’m glad to say it was much better than Wednesdays disaster. (Lamb shank)

Beetroot, BBQ pork sausage, those Rooster chips that Martin Shuttlecock recommended (Very nice too), and potato cakes. Plain yoghourt with added honey.

Had an apple, banana and some biscuits later. Feeling rough like I did, I was surprised I ate so much. Rated this a 9.4/10.

Washed the pots and settled to watch some Law & Order UK episodes on the DVD. It was a losing battle, nodding off all the time, so I put on the Poland vs Portugal match, but still kept drifting off to the land of nod, until I gave up.

Kept waking up throughout the night?

Inchcock Today Wed 29 June 16: First visit to Chiropodist today!

10b Wednesday 29th June 2016

Woke around 0155hrs, desperate to get back to sleep and continue the dream I’d been having! I failed, but did scribble some notes down on the pad for later it seems, as I found them after I’d managed to nod off again and woke at 0445hrs. Of course, I could remember nothing of the dreams, but the notes informed me that I was young again, and doing what kids do, with a particular group of females. Amongst the words on the paper were: Dancing, snogging and Skoda Estelle?

10aTo the throne, made a cuppa and got the laptop on. Did some graphicalisationing, Facebook, WordPress and emails. Then went on Google Maps to see where the Feet First Chiropodist was on Upper Parliament Street.

Very handily placed with the L9 bus-stop just a few yards away.

04

Around 0830hrs, I had to force myself off the laptop and get the ablutions done in readiness for my departure out into the heavy rain and winds! A chance to test the new umbrella out.

I nipped to see Olive on the way out, give her a box of liqueurs and asked if it is alright for me to call tomorrow and get a pain-gel massage. She agreed, and she was looking well this morning.

Down to the lobby, where three Lady tenants and two male had gathered to wait for the bus to arrive. Nice chinwag, joke and I gave them some nibbles. Well, not one man, he is known amongst the old tenants as Mr Grumps, for good reason.

Got the bus, it was late, but at least it came today.

The rain continued to pour down, and I tried out the new umbrella as I walked to the Wilko store, it was fine and coped with the wind (The weather’s wind, not mine. Hehehe!). I got the citrus scented arm spray, and nipped to the Poundland Store, in hopes they may have some of the Deo-fabric-spray P1110234back in stock, they hadn’t, but they did have some After Eight Mints, so I got a box for Olive.

Naughty Nottingham Pavement cyclists were rampant all around yet again.

I nipped down to the Feet First Chiropodist and gave the lady on reception my list of medications. She gave me an A4 New Patient form to fill in. After ten minutes she’d spotted me still going, as I tried to get all the medications listed in the box provided, copying them from the three prescription lists. She offered to photocopy them for me. Then found the printer had ran out of ink. Again she helped by copying them for me onto another A4 sheet by hand.

I was shortly called into a treatment room, and the lady got me plates into a bowl of bubbling water, then got her shears out and cut me toe nails, even filed them afterwards – and… she put my socks back on for me, cause she saw how I struggled to get them off earlier. Bless her cotton socks!

I made another appointment with the receptionist for Friday 12th August at 1115hrs, paid me £25 and out into the  rain. This brolly is a good un up to know anyway.

P1110233I went up and over the walk-over and took a photograph of the weather-beaten Nottinghamians below.

Three alcoholics had settled in the corner and were making some threatening noises in my direction as I took this photograph on the left, through the glass.

I asked them if they wanted their photo taken – I think they said something like “Go forth and multiply”, but in other words like.

I limped along through the Victoria Centre (Mall) and had a walk through the market. Very sad so many empty stalls and bad food on show. I went all the way through, window shopping. At the other end was a Pound World shop, so I nipped in there to look for  any fabric freshener but they didn’t have any either. I did get some caramelised biscuits and a box of 160 Brooke bond D tea-bags, though. Not had them for a while.

The trusty new brolly protected most of me on the walk to the bus stop to catch the L9 bus back to the flats. Stirling Moss was driving it today, I recognise him now, after risking life and limb on his bus before.

Stayed awake. (Mostly thanks to driver Stirling’s and battling to stay in the seat at every corner and when he braked one had to take care you didn’t hit you head or chin on the seat in front)

Off the bus, Mr Grumpy was on the bus, but he ignored my greeting when he got on. Nipped up and wee-wee’d post haste, put the kettle on, the nibbles away, got the lamb hock boiling and got updating this post and did some graphics.

P1110235Checked the emails and Facebooked a while.

The nosh turned out a bit of a disaster I’m afraid.

The potato waffles were tasteless, the lamb all bone, the bread dried, the apple super-tasteless… the dessert too sweet, but the banana was nice!

I could only rate this one at 3/10!

Picked up TV mag to see what was on, and the programmes I chose did not show, other programmes came on? I checked with the built in TV guide and that was different again? I thought I was going bonkers?

Found a letter delivered from Virgin, informing me that the TV and internet would not be available on 21st July from 0700hrs to 17oohrs while they upgrade the service? But the phone line will not be affected.

Well, the Virgin internet connection certainly needs something doing to it, it is worse than what BT were, and that’s saying something.

I got the nibbles sorted and into the bag ready for the Social Hour tomorrow morning. I’m looking forward to that.

Sleep came easier tonight (at last), despite the left foot big toe stinging a bit. I think the filing, or maybe they cut the nail down a bit too far done at the chiropodist might be the reason?

Sometimes… Thoughts on ageing from the aged Inchcock in one of his darker moments

10aI cannot see, I cannot pee
I cannot chew, I cannot screw
Oh dear, what can I do?
My memory shrinks with age
So does my little appendage!
I struggle when pooping
Everything is drooping
I’ve no sense of smell
Others sniff and can tell
My winds don’t smell too well
The hearing-aid batteries disappear
The dizzy-spells I really fear
When I get on the wrong bus
It makes me feel opprobrious
As it causes quiet a fuss
I wake up at the depot on that bus
Medical appointments missed sometimes
I fall asleep on the loo and at dinnertimes
Go to the wrong place on the odd day
Then wonder why I was going there anyway
Put my washing in the machine and go way
And, remember it by the next Friday
Leave taps running, like last night
The Water bill will give me a fright
Leave lights on, burn the nosh
Drop the soap when having a wash
Bend to retrieve it, give me head a bash,
Little Inchy bleeds and cut myself shaving
And I really miss misbehaving
Get confused without any bother at all
Forget the walking stick and have a fall
Old age, is not really a ball
I wonder if it’s worth it to struggle to live
Then I remember, in the affirmative…
My new neighbour, who is so attractive
I’ll press on, offering all I can give
To the beautiful gal named Olive!

Inchcock Today Tue 28 June 16: Mega-Whoopsiedangleplop Discovered! Well, two really.

Tuesday 28th June 2016

Woke at 0440hrs with the £300 second-hand recliner chair firmly refusing to lower itself – I climbed out feeling depressed with things: The Grammarly not working again and no idea how to sort it, CorelDraw8 playing up something rotten, England making a fool and embarrassing themselves against a deserving winning Iceland, Olive finding another skin cancer spot on my back when she pain-gelled me, the wet-room bare woods needing painting… all in all, I am in low spirits. Tsk!

To the porcelain throne, no hiatus there. Worried about how I’m going to find time to get the painting done, I’ve got the brushes, paint and cleaners all ready to go. Getting up the ladder and down on the floor into the corners might be interesting. INR blood test today and Chiropodist tomorrow, must get some fresh veg and fruit in today somehow as well. Seem to be fretting away over everything again this morning.

Made a cuppa and got the laptop on. Grammarly not working, so I tried a Restart – and the laptop froze midway? Force closed and started again, it opened but still no Grammarly apt?

Then CorelDraw8 froze on me! Tried to use the old CorelDraw7 and had to input passwords to access it? Did the graphic at the top of this page and tried loading CorelDraw8 again. Very very slowly it opened, with it seeming reluctant to do so?

Finished the Monday post, and started this off. Made another cuppa, with all the hassle the first one went cold, then realised I’d not taken the morning medications. Huh, fool! So I took them around 0715hrs.

Feeling rather melancholy, gloomy, dejected, sad and miserable now, I can’t help it. Made even worse when I read what the swearing on the pitch, gambling mad, overrated, High Class Hooker user Rooney said after the defeat on the BBC News site:

  1. Going into the last 16 facing Iceland we were confident we could win the game. It’s disappointing but we have to move on. Have you no shame to go with your excessive salary, hooker visits and gambling addictions?
  2. “It’s tough. There are always upsets in football – it’s not tactics, it’s just unfortunate. We know we’re a good team. You know your a good team? So did Iceland mate!
  3. “I can’t stand here and say exactly why it’s happened. Roy Hodgson will look back and think what he could have done differently. Well fancy that, blaming Roy for everything, I am surprised!

Rant over… I think?

Checked with the Google Calendar for the timings of the next few days appointments: 1040hrs today INR blood test, tomorrow 1030hrs Chiropodist to have my toes and feet done, must remember as it is the first visit, I have to get there early so I can give them a list of the medications I’m on and fill in medical forms. Thursday I hope to get to the Winwood Tenants Social Hour and take some photographs and then get to Asda (Walmart) for fodder and get the photographs printed.

Looks like I might get to tackle the cleaning and painting in the wet-room on Saturday? He says, hoping he’ll be a bit less down then and no ailments playing up like.

P1110226

The new umbrella, that claims to be ‘Unblowoutable’

According to the weather forecast, I’ll need me brolly today. Taking the new ‘Can’t Blow Inside-Out one with me. We’ll see about that. Hehe!

0746hrs now, and the second cup of tea has also gone cold.

Posted yesterdays diary and did a bit of Facebooking and some more graphicationalisating for the TFZers Girls in long dresses series. Taking ages this one.

Time had shot by, so I got the ablutions done, a quick shower, changed into me togs, things in the bag, and off at 0955hrs I was off on a walk to the surgery in Carrington, taking the rubbish bags to the chute on my way down.

Walked  easily, nice and steady down Winchester Street hill and left up and down Mansfield Road into Carrington and arrived at  the Sherrington Surgery and sat doing the crossword for half an hour or so. Even getting one finished with only having to cheat looking at the answer  for one clue!

The nurse asked me how I was, and quickly got the Warfarin INR blood taken. I was soon out and walking down into Carrington.

P1110227

Mandy and BJ at the launderette

As I passed the launderette I noticed BJ’s car was outside, I nipped in for a chinwag.

Took a photographicalisation of Mandy and BJ. Promising to get a print of the photo done on Thursday and let the each have a copy.

07

Nice little hobble today

A little natter and BJ was off to Asda (Walmart) and I went to the Lidl store to get overcharged. But it was a new assistant that served me and didn’t get overcharged or sneered at. Nice change that at Lidl. Got some cobs, jacket potatoes, nibbles for the nurses and Tenant Social hour on Thursday and some apples and bananas.

Then out and walked back to Sherwood, hoping to catch a bus up the hill to the flats, but I’d just missed one, so had to walk back as well.

Called in Wilko and got a spray bottle to use me shower curtain cleaner with.

Shame I didn’t get a chance to try-out the new umbrella.

Still, it made a nice little walk for me.

Noticing the laundry room was empty as I got it the foyer, I made my way up to 72, and put away the shopping, then got the laundry ready, cash and cleaners and went down to the wash-room – Got the washing into the machine and went back up to the flat to update this tosh.

Back down to move the washing into the dryer and Obergruppenfurher Julie told me the big dryer was out of action and would I make an ‘Out of Order’ notice and stick it on the machine. This did with the pen and paper from my inside pocket. While doing this, I realised I’d made a Whoopsiedangleplop at some time earlier – for there on the sink was someone’s washing that had been dried… after examining the clothing I realised it was mine! The washing I took down this morning was still in the washer? By the time I’d done the sign, it was finished and I put the togs into the only dryer working. Felt a bit of a clot at this stage! This was not helping with depression! Hehe!

Back up to the apartment again, updated this to here, made a brew, took the midday medications, wee-wee’d and back down to collect today’s washing from the dryer.

P1110231

Odd socks drying… Humph!

As I packed the togs into the bag, I realised I’d got two odd socks.

Checked the washer and found then other two still in there!

1355hrs: Back up and put the two wet items on the heater in the kitchen with the two dry ones above them so as not to forget where I put them later on.

P1110230

Worried about myself now!

Definitely fretting about myself now!

How did I leave and forget about the washing in the dryer?

How did I pass the memory test at the Doctors?

Put the second lot of washing away.

Made a cup of tea and updated this again. Realised the promised rain had not matured yet.

Got CorelDraw8 going and tired to do some graphic manipulation with it, one object at a time, in the hope that it would not freeze on me again this time. I got many done, but it did freeze again. So I posted those I’d done on the TFZers site, felt sorry for myself, got some nosh on the cook, sobbed and got me head down, it being so late and me getting carried away with the art working and now feeling completely shattered.

Got some fodder, took the medications and had a few hours nodding off for a few minutes, watching TV for few minutes, nodding off for a few minutes, watching TV for few minutes, nodding off for a few minutes, watching TV for few minutes… Hehe!
