Inchcock Today: Wed/Thur 19th/20th November 2014

Wednesday 19th November 2014

Burst awake at 0140hrs.

WC.

Little ‘Inch’ leaking again. Getting wee’d off with this.

The laptop refused to load first time; Drive unstable?

Second attempt it worked… slowly, but it worked.

Got no end of graphics done.

I spent hours and hours doing nothing but internetting again.

WC and went down to make a cuppa and returned to take me medications.

Read a bit more of me Blood Red Snow book.

An idle day for an idle Inchcock.

Thursday 20th November 2014

04thHead

Up at 0320hrs.

WC.

Little Inch tended to. Less bleeding this morning… up to now anyway.

Made a cuppa and the laptop was working well this morning… shouldn’t have said that should I? Laptop booted first time, Coreldraw loaded okay and this cheered me up so much, even when I dropped me cuppa spilling it over me radio it didn’t bother me (Beep beep Lie detected).

Photo 1

About 0500hrs took me medications and beautified my ageing body with carbolic soap, teggies tended to, razor utilised creams and pain gels applied in required areas of me torso.

Morrisons (Photo 1) delivery this morning later, then I’d like to go out on a blooming good walk and take some photographs for my friends on the internet.

Photo 2

Whoops, gotta go, WC beckoning again. Back soon (I hope)

Windows updates took ages to load when I turned off the laptop.

Set off on a walk about, starting with a limp into Sherwood to the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop with some bits.

Traffic was heavy this morning on Mansfield Road. (Photo 2)

Decided I’d take a longer walk, so went through Edwards Lane Estate. Taking a photo that showed the mist hiding the scenery in the distance from the top of the hill. (Photo 3)

04th04fungi

Photo 4 Fungi?

Turned left and came across a tree stump that had grown the most amazing looking fungi from its chopped trunk. Beautiful to look at – wonder what it is? (Photo 4)

Plodded on and passing Nottingham’s HRM Prison, I took a snap of the entrance and car park. (Photo 5)

Turned left on Hucknall Road and down the hill passing the now being renovated pub where the murder took place last August.

Photo 5: HM Nottingham Prison

Turned right onto Haydn Road, where my mate was mugged last year and up as far as the Junior school, where I saw the odd shaped hut in the playground near the… er…  play-thingies. (Photo 6)

Then passed the signs on the railings: ‘Warning Anti-vandal paint used – Trespassers and vandals will be prosecuted’. Judging by the graffiti on them, they haven’t impressed the local trespassers or vandals in the least! (Photo 7)

Caught a bus to Arnold at the bus-stop where the 87 year-old lady was mugged in March.

Photo 6: The crooked shed

On the bus, a rather large lady with a four wheeled shopping trolley (the bus was full) got up to get off and as the bus lurched, she fell onto an elderly lady, I managed to fend of her full weight from the lady as she fell. The poor lady said she was alright but I knew she wasn’t and was shook up. Poor thing.

I alighted from the bus and got some bread lollies and foolishly forgetting I have no cooker or microwave some potatoes. (Twit!)

Photo 7: Warning signs. Tsk!

As I queued at the bus-stop to come back to Carrington, I noticed a stumbed-out nub-end and a brown spread of questionable a nature on top of some new street furniture. (Photo 8)

As the bus drove through the Broxtowe Estate I noticed that of the row of six new shops renovated last year only one is still trading. Nottingham at its finest I thought. I took a photo through the bus window. (Photo 9)

Photo 8: Eurgh!

When I dropped off of the bus and limped towards the pelican lights I was impressed with the shadows being cast by the not very warm sun behind me cast onto St John’s church. (Photo 10)

Photo 9: Retailers driven out of Estate?

I got in and after WCing I decided I was hungry so made some sandwiches and a cuppa, up to the laptop to update this hogwash and… the Laptop start-up failed to load. Got the blue screen with this message (Photo 11) three times before it actually started. The end is nigh! But at least it loaded – I wonder if the windows updates might have cocked summat up?

I’ll never know or understand.

Did some Facebook and graphic prep work.

04th08StJs

St John’s – beautiful!

Took me medications and tended to little Inchy (flipping bleeding again!)

Well, believe or not, after I’d got little ‘Inchy’ cleansed and no longer leaking guess what?

Yes, you’ve got it – me flamin’ haemorrhoids started bleeding again.

04th09laptop

Grrrr!!!

I think they either come out in sympathy for little ‘Inchy’, or the just might be jealous of all the attention he’s receiving? Huh!

I had a little self-pity period for a bit. The Inch, piles, angina, loneliness, frustration, me hearing or lack of, me cooker packing up, me microwave doing the same, forgetting things, losing things and general depression.

Then I thought… Sod-it, make a good strong cup of tea put on me favourite DVD and wallow. Hehehe!

Sod-it again… now me DVD player won’t start… Fu… flippin’ ‘eck!

Luckily it didn’t bother me in the slightest iota, bit or fragment at all.

No, no no, not a tad.

No, I will not let it get me down at all.

Not in the slightest.

Would you like any more lies?

The Charity Football Match – in Fancy Dress!

FDFM01

A bunch of lads from the RAOB lodge, had arranged a charity football match in aid of a couple of Children’s Charities, all proper like.

We hired a patch of the Forest Recreation ground to use as a pitch, hired the changing rooms, printed the advertisements, got lots of interest and prospective spectators to get some money out of, and the morning of the match, it was well sunny.

Oh, did I not mention… it was a ‘Fancy Dress Football Match!

I was due to be a linesman on the day. We soon realised that not enough players had turned up on the day, and I was elected to play… in my bath towel wrapped like a nappy, with a giant safety pin, heavens knows where my mate had got that from. I think he might have made it out of wire coat hangers?

Many supporters were awaiting our turning out from the dressing room, the local paper even had a photographer there… and the rain came down!

We made a quick decision to play only twenty minutes each way.

During the match, I didn’t actually get to touch the football at all, (none of the lads deemed it advisable to pass me the ball, I even tackled my own team-mates in an effort to get the ball, but being as my footballing skills were notoriously pathetic, I failed) as the rain made the towel heavier and heavier, I was soon glad I had my underpants on underneath, as the inevitable happened and the towel sagged and drooped, then fell to the ground – unfortunately taking my undies down with it!

Thank heavens the photographer has gone earlier to avoid the rain.

The few wet supporters who had stayed in the rain got a laugh at least.

Still we made about £80 on the day for the NSPCC.

Inchcock Today: Tuesday 18th November 2014

Tuesday 18th November 2014

Awoke around 0500hrs, feeling no warmth or wetness from the lower regions, just tenderness?

Only a few dribbles of blood when I washed and Cortisone creamed him.

02T02

New Street-Furniture in Carrington

Made a cuppa, and sorted out the laundry things ready for my mammoth washing trip.

Read a bit of me book with a cuppa and took me medications.

Set off for the launderette got as far as the new street furniture (See photo) and realised I had not got me hearing aids in as soon I nearly walked in front of a car, so returned to get them – but where were they?

I searched all over but could not find them getting annoyed with myself now.

I decided to have another look for them after I’d finished the washing.

02T03

Commuters on their way to the City this morning

Set off again to the launderette.

The traffic into town had seemed to come to a stop outside the launderette as I arrived to ogle and desire the launderette lady… I mean do the washing.

I got the two machines going and had a walk back to the flea-pit and had another search for the hearing aids. After much frustration I found them on top of the radio? Immediately I spotted them I remembered putting them there… oh dear, the mind doing its own thing again?

I returned to the launderette.

The missing hearing-aids on my mind I forgot to put the freshener into the machine, then forgot to put me balls in the drier.

02T04Sad innit?

Big John arrived at the launderette – he’s got a stinking cold and warned everyone to keep their distance. Poor old John.

Took a photo of him as he did his washing, I’ll send it to him later to cheer him up.

Poddled back to the prison, and got things ready to go out shopping to Bulwell for some bread. I’m still on cold food until I can get some help fetching a new microwave.

02T05I put some stale bread and bird-seed in me bag and had a bit of a walk to the tram stop on the Forest and caught the Tram into Bulwell.

I spotted two squirrels on the top of some dirty bins and scrambled to get me camera to take a shot of them – but they were off too quickly for me.

When I got off and walked over the 02T07bridge, there was a large count of 02T06mallards I (my favourite ducks) in the river Lean underneath.

So I fed them the bread, and the pigeons arrived on the bank who I also fed. As I gave the bird seed to the pigeons some mallards climbed out and actually ate the seed?

I walked to Iceland and got some bread.

Then to Fulton’s foods and got some lollies.

Then to Herons and got more lollies.

Hobbled to the bus and I caught one back to the hoppit.

As I got back and put me bits away – fatigue overcame me and all I could do was get me head down, and the sleep came easily… perhaps too easily?

I slept through until 2300hrs – missing my evening medications. Some, like the Warfarin must not be taken if over 2 hours late. So I just took the statins, trental and painkillers late.

Not having washed earlier or tended to the ‘Inch’ I did so.

02T08Bleeding not too bad with little ‘Inch’.

Laptop on and updated this tosh.

Angina started playing up again. Tsk!

WC – and oh boy did ‘Inch’ come alive – blood in abundance!

Double Tsk!

Inchcock Today: Mon 17th November 2014

Monday 17th November

Slept for hours and hours, then didn’t want to get up when I awoke? Not me that.

The laptop started okay. (Not tried coreldraw9 yet)

Made a cuppa.

Did some posts for LOMM then checked Facebook and emails.

Went down and made another cuppa and took me medications.

A little blood from the ‘Inch’ but not so much as usual. Still I applied the Betamethasone corticosteroid cream though.

Beautified myself and got things ready for me trip to the Queens Medical Centre. I remembered to take me Blood Red Snow book for me to rebook it out at the library.

Bloomin’ windy first thing on me walk into town.

Caught bus out to the QMC for my INR Warfarin blood level tests.

01M02I arrived and saw the poor devils queuing for the car park. The queue trailed back all around the compound.

When I was being done in the haematology dept, I nodded off while they were taking the blood. That tickled them somewhat.

But these incidents do make me appreciate why the DVLA took away 01M03my driving licence though.

Afterwards I caught a bus back into town and called in the library to renew me book. (Not sure how I remembered that but still).

Walked up through the Arcade (shopping mall) opposite the library when I came out. I still cannot figure out how the businesses in it make it pay. Only about 50% of the units are occupied.

It didn’t help them when last year a bloke got his sandals caught in the escalator and tore off a toe. Then it was closed for ages for the inquiry. Eventually they replaced it with some stairs. Which if I’d remembered before I poddled up through, I would not have poddled up through. Oh me knees!

I had a bit of limp around town and got some bits to add to the stuff for the Hospice shop.

Then I caught the bus to the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop in Sherwood.

01M04I called in the delicatessen shop and got some meat and bread.

Where an interesting short conversation took place between me and the chap who owned the place:

Me: “Good mornin’”

Him: “Grunt”

Me: “What kind of meat is that one please?” Said I pointing at the meat.

Him: “Half passed eleven!”

Me: “Er… can I have four thick slices please?”

Him: “Six… thick slices?”

Me: “No no, four thick slices please”

Him:”Right!”

When I got home there were five slices, so he wasn’t far off bless him.

Then dropped off me stuff at the shop and had a hobble back into Carrington.

As I was passing the Sherwood Arms public house I noticed for the first time a new sign above the frontage of the premises and thought how amusing it was.

01M05Husband Day Care

Need time to relax?

Want to go shopping?

Just need some time to yourself?

LEAVE YOUR HUSBAND WITH US!

We promise to take good care of him… just leave plenty of Beer Tokens!

01M06Tickled me that did.

On the other side of the road another retail shop abandoned.

As I drew near to Carrington, the sky became daunting and dark.

And yet it was beautiful at the same time.

Got in the hovel.

WC, then made me sandwiches ready for later.

Watched a Torchwood DVD repeatedly. By repeatedly I mean I kept falling asleep and having to rewind it every time I woke.

Took me medications and had me nosh.

Again tried to complete the viewing of the Torchwood DVD. This time determined to get to see it all.

Gave up and got me head down.

Woke up with ‘Inchy’ calling for kitchen towel usage!

Tsk!

Inchcock Diary 16th Nov 14

IMG_0249Sunday 16th November 2014

I was up cleaning little ‘Inchy’ and changing me bloodied night attire at 0200hrs. Well pee’d off with it now!

Started laptop and made a cuppa took medications and consumed a pot of porridge.

Angina bad.

Toyed on the internet for many hours, having to restart the laptop a few times though. But Coreldraw seemed content not to crash. (Up to now!)

Hope to get out and take some photo’s later, but the weather is a tad foggy and not very welcoming.

The depression self-pity loathing and the Angina beat me today – Not doing anything but Internetting.

Sorry. Hope to bounce back.

Inchcock Today: Friday 14th November 2014

Friday 14th November 2014

Arose about 0330hrs and went down to make a cuppa.

I was going to do some porridge in the microwave, but stopped it as soon as the sparks flew from the sides of the door! I found the door edging was corroded. So, no hot food until I get another. (Being frustrated and depressed comes naturally and easily to me you know – Tsk!)

The laptop was upstairs so I returned to update and post yesterday’s diary and have a poddle on Facebook.

Feeling strangely depressed a tad again this morning.

The knees are still not very good, and the Angina… well, not good also.

Got a lot of sorting to do, the launderette; well I’ll have to manage for clothes until next week. Then I’ll have the struggle of carrying two dirty great bagsful down to the launderette. – Not Done!

I’ve got to get to the G.U.M. clinic to book another appointment. Not Done!

I want to get to the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop with the bits for them. –  Not Done!

I’ve got to go to the Computer shop to sort laptop. – Not Done!

I’ve got to sort out a new microwave cooker. – Not Done!

Got to sort the rubbish and put the bins out for collection. – Done!

Oh forget it… I can’t cope with the thought of it all. (Hehe)

I washed the little ‘Inch’ no blood showing at all.  Until I pulled at him and it spurted out again. This time I could see the lesion as it filled with blood and then flowed out.

As I’ve said before, thank heavens for kitchen towels!

I went back down and put the bins put out collection, made another cuppa and took me medications.

Then I returned to the laptop. Coreldraw9 is now working in a slow fashion thankfully.

Not feeling too well today, staying put indoors.

Took me yonks to get to sleep, hours! (Tsk)

Inchcock Today: Thursday 13th November

W17Th01

That was until his Coreldraw9  started freezing again! Poor old little mite that he is, he’s so down and sad again now. Tsk!

 Thursday 13th November 2014

I sprang awake at 0130hrs and could not get back to the land of nod. Tsk!

So I decided to go down and bring the laptop up to work on me blog and post some photo’s of Lynton from his visit yesterday.

I got all the bit and pieces up okay – but could I find me camera?

Could I ‘eck as?

After searching the front room draws shelves floor etc and failing to find it – I searched the kitchen (that’s the only downstairs rooms in the house), then decided I had lost it completely. Bamboozled and annoyed with myself puts it lightly.

So, I decided to give up and fetch the things back downstairs. On my way up the stairs (An hour and a half after starting me searching) I saw the camera laying there – and naturally then remembered leaving it there last night to bring up later. (Huh, wotta plonka of the highest order!)

I managed to get em ready. Then tried to load the internet and the laptop beeped then froze on me. I had to press and hold the start button then reload/start the laptop.

But it’s been alright since?

Big mouth Inchcock! Grrrr…

Coreldraw9 keeps freezing, and I have to force close the flipping laptop, done it three times this morning. Oh woe is me, well down now. Tsk!

Did some work on a new post for a while, during which I felt the dreaded warm and wet sensation from the little ‘Inch’. Bleeding again… Hey-ho. I can’t go to the clinic today because I’ve promised to go with Sister Jane to the hospital for her to have checks on her knees and hips done. Bit of support yer know bless her.

Good job I got some graphics done earlier to use.

Also I said I’d try and take some photo’s today of the older parts of Nottingham for the TFZ group. So I’ll aim to walk to town in plenty of time to meet Jane at 1315hrs at her bus stop, then catch bus to the Queens Medical Centre, and take some on my way.

Spit and polished myself check Inchy (dribbling) and got things ready to take with me to meet Jane, I hope?

Set off on my walk into town planning on taking some pictures en route for the TFZ’ers site – but the knees were so bad a diversion would have meant me being late to meet Jane and Pete.

W17Th02I couldn’t resist taking a photograph of the poor chap as I passed from outside of Pound World, who they had dressed up in Snowman costume and had apparently been hired to wave at the children?

Got into town and met them, we then caught a bus to the QMC arriving in plenty of time.

13-11-14They both looked in good form, but Pete’s 13-11-14comphearing is getting as bad as mine at times. We had a good natter while waiting and Jane was called in early for her tests.

They were completed in half an hour and we caught a bus back to town. I took some photo’s of them on  the bus, I don’t think Jane was too pleased about it because the lighting on the bus changed her hair colour in the photo.

I hobbled along with them while they did some shopping,

Said our farewells and I caught a bus back to the dump.

When I got in all I as good for was getting my head down after applying more pain gel to me knees.

Why Inchcock stopped going to Nottingham Forest matches

Part of the Nottingham Lads True Tales of Woe

NFFC01

My heroes:
Peter Grummitt in goal.

Bob Chapman, Terry Hennessey, Pete Hindley, Bob McKinlay, my favourite John Winfield were in Forest’s defence.

Jim Baxter, Henry Newton, Ian-Storey-Moore were in midfield.

Joe Baker, John Barnwell. and Barry Lyons up front.

All mismanaged so ably by Johnny Carey

1969, and my mates begged me to stop going to Forest matches!

Mick said I was a ‘jinx on them’.

Bill said I was the ‘kiss of death to them’.

Frank said I was a ‘curse on them’.

Alf said I ‘cast an evil eye on them’.

They each suggested I go forth and multiply and questioned my parentage.

They then pointed out that I’d only been to 6 matches that season, that resulted in:

Versus Man United Lost 2-1

Versus Derby County Lost 1-3

Versus Leed United Lost 6-1

Versus Burnley Lost 5- 0

Versus Leeds United Lost 4-1

Versus Coventry Lost 4-1

… and could I please stop attending the City Ground? (Or words to that effect)

I laughed this off as rubbish.

The next season, after I attended my first match (And only match of the season) versus Arsenal, and they lost 4-1… I did stop attending the City Ground after that!

Inchcock: Tue/Wed 11/12th November 2014

Tuesday 11th November 2014

I slept better last night, only waking up about five times I think.

Up and on the laptop drinking a cuppa by 0445hrs.

Not feeling on top form though, took some bags out to the bins to find someone had dumped their rubbish bags nearby.

Bit of an early dizzy spell.

Going to spend the day indoors methinks. Working away on the laptop and feeling guilty.

Gaws ‘eavens – the little ‘Inch’ is bleeding profusely again!

Crappo at times life innit?

Wednesday 12th November 2014

I was feeling nervous when I awoke at 0120hrs, apprehensive.

WC.

Checked out ‘Inchy’, bleeding again, applied some more Corticoid cream.

Had a rinse and cleared up the blood and came down had a sip of spring mineral water and got medications ready for the 0500hrs doses.

Can’t believe I do not fancy a cuppa.

Aware that today I have visitors coming to assist me, and I am very nervous at what they will find here at the hovel.

Updated this diary to here.

Lynton and his son John called, they were stuck on the motorway and would be a little later than arranged – nice that.

They arrived and I felt I’d known him for years.

We gossiped while they helped me get the laptop going so much better. We left it doing a clean-up programme and they drove me out for a bite to eat in Sherwood.

They kindly went into the Computer shop with me to analyse and understand what the chap was offering.

W16TW01

See me smiling? Thanks Lynton!

Then we went into a cafe where they treated me to a bacon sarnie, and let me knick one of John’s potatoe waffles.

We returned still nattering to the flea-pit.

They helped again by taking away some of the rubbish I have accrued.

They will never know how much they have helped me today – bless em both with all my heart.

A cuppa tea and they were off with fond goodbyes.

W16TW02

Sir Lynton Cox – A Gentleman

Now John has got my wi-fi sorted I can use the laptop upstairs again, and it is so much quicker.

Had a microwaved potato and sausages for me nosh.

Tired, but feeling happier than for a while I went off up to kip… angina playing up. Tsk!

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today: Monday 10th November 2014

W16M01

Monday 20th November 2014

Up at 0300hrs, WC.

’Inchy’ sore and leaking a little blood.

Down and got laptop started and made a cuppa.

Chest pains started, angina not good.

Feeling a bit down again. Despite Lynton emailing me that he is coming over to see me with his son next week.

Did the LOMM update posts and some graphics for Troll Free Zone.

Waiting for the Asda delivery, then I’ll get washed shaved teggies and WC then get changed to go to the Queens Medical Centre for my INT level tests.

When I came down from ablutionising (Is there such a word?) my left thumb was bleeding from all around the nail! No pain, no lesions?

W16M02I took some bits with me for the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop to drop off on the way back from the Queens Medical Centre.

I set off and caught the bus (Raining you see) into town. Then got another out to the QMC.

The rain has lessened as I arrived at the hospital.

Only a couple waiting at the haematology dep’t, and I was in five minutes later.

There was only two staff on. The new girl and a bloke brought in from another department – three staff off today she said! She also pointed out that i had blood coming from my left ear-hole?

Still she was happy could she could have first pick of the nibbles I took for them, including the fresh cream éclairs that tickled her fancy.

W16M03I was soon out and caught a bus into town.

W16M04Had a walk about a bit, got some DVD’s to add to the stuff got the Hospice shop.

Ambulance/CityWalked into town and as I rounded the corner, the first thing I saw was somebody being loaded into an ambulance.

That cheered me up no end.

The rain had stopped and the sunshine glistened. So I took a photo in the slab square.

Then walked towards the Sherwood bus pick-up point taking a photo pf an alley as I passed it. In this alley is a W16M05Barbers, a public convenience, a ladies hair dressers and a few other retailer. Not doing so well I’d hazard a guess by the lack of people around.

I caught the bus and dropped off almost opposite the Charity shop and took the bit in for them.

Then I had a walk back to Carrington, the angina still bothersome.

And I foolishly didn’t put any Phorpain gel on my knees cause they seemed okay at the time – When will I ever learn!

Nearly got ran into by a burke on a bike on the pavement as I turned the corner into my street.

Got in. WC’d.

Laptop on and made a cuppa.

It’s colder in this house than outside! Huh!

Felt that warm wet sensation in the region of my little Inch again, went up and checked. Bleeding. A good day for me bleeding today innit – me left thumb, me left ear and now my ‘Inch’ has started again. I checked the ear-hole closer and I think the wax or ear-drops might have hardened and when I put me hearing-aids in it might have caught it and pulled a bit off?

I’m looking forward to be nosh tonight (and hoping it come out alright like). I’ve got two big potatoes to do int microwave, then I’ll empty the flesh into bowl and bash it up with some cheese granules a splash of vinegar and a tad of sea salt, then return it to the microwave add some bbq sausages and rewarm it.

I’ll let yer know how it turns out later. I might have a bit of cooked beetroot with it. Egon Ronay? Huh!
