But I gave it a go further down…

The Day that Genghis Khan Died
03:45hrs: What a nightmare that was that I just had! It followed one earlier, about my younger days, with a relative of long ago, in the flat, telling me “Not to bother, failure, pain, and frustration are all that is on the cards for you, youth!” The later one, was a right mixed bag, a ghost or spirit coming out of the clouds and down into the flat, and taking me away with it, up into the sky-shadows and beyond – where a giant underground cave was being used to keep dead souls contained? Lots of other stuff, but this is all that was clear enough for me to remember. Great, I get some much-needed sleep, and it’s filled with nightmares! Lucky or what? Hahaha!
The task of freeing myself from the £300, second-hand, c1968, grotty beige-coloured, not working, rickety recliner, was once again an easy task. No dizzies, loss of balance, toe-stubbing, tumbling, or knocking anything over! This was promising. As was the lack of any warnings from the EQ! Arthritis in the knees had got much more comfortable, and the bruise from last nights Whoopsiedangleplop, falling out of the recliner, had come out behind the knee, but it wasn’t sufficiently painful to give me any bother.
I utilised the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-Wee Bucket) for an IDKWIB (I-don’t-know-why-I-bothered) mode wee-wee. And off to the kitchen, with a sudden uncertain feeling that I may be about to find something I had left on, running or similar. But no, all looked fine.
I took the medications and made a brew. I nipped onto the balcony to take this shot through the finger shredding, rain letting windows that cannot be reached to be cleaned. The blue again view, was lovely.
To the computer to start updating and finishing off the Saturday diary.
The finger-ends began to jump or freeze as a natural reaction when they came into contact with the keyboard buttons. The shoulder jerking started at the same time. This meant I had an extra-long frustrating session in doing the updating.
The need for the Porcelain Throne to be utilised arrived, and the evacuation was nice and clean for a change, not messy this time. I wiped around and did the hands and returned to the computer.
I’d almost finished the updating, and I had to return, this time with the highest speed I dare muster, to the wet room! Before I had got through the door, the PP’s were down, and dressing gown abandoned; onto the Throne, without a single second to spare… Oh, dearie me! The innards rumbled tunefully, and the evacuation went on and on.. and on! Painfully too, which caught me out, as the self-extracted material was almost liquid? I sat there for a while, to recover from the torrent, which proved a wise decision. Because it was followed by an MES (Marathon-Endless-Sprinkling) wee-wee, that may have taken the longest time than ever before! I even grabbed the crossword book, to help kill time, but I could not locate any pen or pencil. (Tsk!) I felt oddly drained, tired and almost jet-lagged, afterwards. (I don’t know why I wrote jet-lagged, I’ve never been on a jet? But it is how I imagine it would have been).
As I cleaned everything up again, the asceticness of my life came to the mind’s fore. Ralph’s words also came back to me from the dream.
I pressed on and completed the Saturday post, sent it off to WordPress, and then went onto the WP Reader section.
I made a start on this blog, as far as here.
Went to make a brew, and took another picture, from the new light & view-blocking kitchen windows, with the impossible to reach panes of glass to be cleaned, not without using the step ladders and a lot of foolish bravery, anyway. I must say, the view was even better than the last photo.
I got the peas podded, and in the one remaining saucepan, I have, to marinate with a little demerara sugar, for Josie’s nosh later.
I also got the oven warming ready to use.
As for the shelling of the peas, I did have a few that shot off in different directions, but no more than about 20 of them. Haha! I managed to find 10 of them afterwards. In various places, but I anticipate coming across more of them later on today.
Then off to the wet room, to do the ablutions. The stubbed middle-toe was looking on the mend, so much better now. Of course, as to when the next toe-stubbing will take place, is in the hands and power of Jonah, the Spirit of Whoopsiedangleplops. My Inchcockskian Evil-eyed-habinger, nuncio, and stormy-petrel of bad-luck, accifauxpas, jinx-supplier, and Avant Courier, to decide!
Plenty of dropsies today, the soap, the sponge, the razor (x3), toothbrush, toilet cleaner bottle, mouthwash bottle, the shower head, olive oil tube, Haemorrhoid cream tube, and the last one, the dang chair I was carrying back into the shower after cleaning up! Bit of good luck there, no injuries at all! Smug-Mode-Engaged!
To the kitchen to check on Josie’s potatoes. Took a picture from the kitchen window, showing the shadow of Woodthorpe Court, cast over the view.
I rang Sister Jane, and the phone died a death on the second ringing tone! The gal rang back later. We had a lovely natter. I told her of Intercom guide paperwork was different from the layout of the actual machine
, and some of them did not work anyway. I certainly cannot here the weak jingle when someone rings. I have eight missed calls for last week alone! A lot of residents have had visitors who could not get in! We had, had fitted. I told her I’d sent a photo of on sheet, in which someone looking remarkably like Brother-in-law Pete was on it. I, unfortunately, I had to cut things short, to get
the spuds out of the oven. But, it was a nice, if hard to hear due to the echo on the line.
I got the cheese, salt and butter, vinegar and potatoes well bashed and mashed up in the bowl, then transferred back in the husks, and into the oven to brown them off. I laid out Josie’s plate. Tomatoes, gherkins, tuna chunks, mushrooms, a knob of Marmite cheese, an
individual lemon cake, and a naughty but oh, so-nice Limoncello dessert.
I had a quick look at the appointments online for Monday & Tuesday, in between checking the spuds to see if they had yet browned-off enough.
They had in the third visit, so I got the meal served up and plated, onto the server, and off to deliver it to Josie’s flat, opposite mine. As I promised, spot on 12:00hrs, midday! Puffed upperdness mode adopted!
Josie said it looked too go
od to eat! Haha!.
I returned to the flat and made myself a cuppa, and took this photograph with the old Lumix that I’d left charging up. It gives an idea of why I say the light & view-blocking, thick-framed, photographers nightmare windows.
I didn’t want to make my meal yet, as I often fall asleep, and Josie returns here washed plates, etc. and wakes me up each week. It’s hard for her to remember my ridiculously early nodding off time. So, on Sundays, I try to stay awake longer. Not that it works often. Tsk! So. I’ll wait until she has returned and hopefully has a natter with me. Another rarity nowadays. Bless her.
I washed the empty jars and left them in view, so I might just possibly, see them and remember to take them down to the recycling bin in the morning. Or, not!
Now, the audiologist last August confirmed my Asonia, (Deafness to certain pitches of sound) so I may have fallen asleep and imagined what happened next.
I thought I heard the door chime. Went to the door, thinking it might be Josie, but no one was about. Back to the kitchen, and listened to the same sound again. To the door, nobody there. Returned to the scullery. Again, chiming. To the front door, no one about? I called at Josie’s, but no answer. Back to the fodder, and again, the distant-sounding chiming… on my way to the door… I realised it must have been the flaming crap new intercom system. That had not lit up when someone called. (Nothing new about this, dozens of tenants have a problem with, or their intercom does not work at all!) I got the notes supplied on usage, (although the layout of the machine is so different from the examples given in the paperwork and confusing) and sussed out how to check on missed calls. Only 25 of them! Humph!
I had my potatoes prepped at the same time as Josie’s, and got them in the oven to brown-off. A beef slice, beetroot, mushrooms, garden peas, tomatoes, and some Poppit salt & vinegar crisps with the added potatoes when they were done.
I awarded this colourful effort a well-worthy 8/10 Taste-Rating. Got the pots washed, and did the handwashing and hung them to start drying.
After this, the memory gets very foggy. I got settled down in the rickety recliner, and think I started nodding and waking… but anything could have happened as Dizzy Dennis visited me, that bit I can remember! Tsk!

I cleaned the blood, the Throne, and myself, and returned to the kitchen to make and take a Movicol and Senna tablet. I noted, how oddly I was walking, Haha!
At last, I’ve got a couple of page top graphics in hand, at long last. I’ll do some ‘Thoughts’ graphics and rhymes next, but, a mug of tea and a wee-wee first. Then back on CorelDrawing.
surprising BOBSL (Blasting-Out-But-Short-Lived) wee-wee. Then got the munificent nosh prepared and served up. The Leicestershire red cheese is excellent for cooking.

Dressed all ready, trolley prepared, shopping list in pocket black bags to the waste chute, and out, down the lift and made my way through the link-passage to the Windwood Court lobby.
I got to the lobby entrance and called into the Obersturmbannfhreress Warden’s holding & interrogation office. Mentioned the new water leak in the flat, that seems to have stopped now. Mini-chinwag, and out to the bus stop with Lynne, Christine and Mary. We were soon joined by a gang of Winwood Heightonians. The crowd nattered away, it was nice to listen to then,
even though I was missing a lot of the conversations they were having. Caroline from the top car home arrived, Marie, John and others, got on the first, City Bound bus.
As I made my way to the Boyes store to check out their saucepans availability, the market place had just the two stalls open, one of them a fruit & veg one, so, I mosied on over to take a look at what was available. They had some fresh looking garden peas, not cheap, but their pristine condition encouraged me to get a pound of them for £1.50. I also got some excellent looking baking potatoes, five for £2.
The rain was easing off as I hobbled to the Asda store. I met Mary in the shop, we had a natter.
The nosh was a decent effort. The tomato sandwiches, fries, smokey bacon, beetroot, gherkins and the most delightful fresh garden peas, were all consumed.

shattered when I got this far and decided to try and get some sleep in to catch up. The previous two-nights have been terribly messy with a total of only about three hours sleep! I put this down to ‘Turmoil of the Mind,’: a disturbed brain that cannot cut-off the echinate waves of worrying, fears, self-loathing, a total lack of confidence… a psychological-mind-block! I just thought I’d mention it! Humph!
I did the ablutions. The well-stubbed, unlucky middle toe, was a bit easier pain-wise.
Well, the nosh turned out to be a much better one than of late. McCains overcooked chips (fries), fresh garden peas, ball-bearing textured beetroot, pickled gherkins, apple slices, Gorgeous tomato sandwiches on Milk Roll bread, and Pork Farms (Very fatty) pork pie sliced. Followed with a little pot of Lemon Mousse. Overall, a Flavour-Rating of 7.8/10.
I had to get up again an hour or so later, to use the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-Wee Bucket), for an unexpected, almost lachrymose wee-wee of the ELPSOA (Extra-Long-Powerful-Spraying-Out-Allover) variety. I had a look at the stubbed-toe as I resettled into the unsteady recliner. By gum, it had settled down a lot at last!

Porcelain Throne. What an ultra-messy affair! Things had softened a lot, yet still, the pain in passing remains? The hand was starting to shake a little, hence the terrible photo of the bruised middle toe. I think the toe next to the big one must have got a stubbing along with the centre toe?
I placed the jar in the recycle bin on the way out. I threw a good morning to the caretaker, Steve, I think, but I didn’t hear what was offered in reply.

I went into the Ozan International Food Centre store. I could not find any of the yoghourts covered rice cakes, so I asked the young, tall, thick, appealing, attractive, highly desirous lady if they sold them. But they didn’t. So, maybe it must be Lidl then?
I bought some cakes and lemon baguettes for Jenny, Deana, Julie and Josie for a treat.
I was still taking extra-care because of the stubbed-toe, and not wanting to trap it again on the three-wheeler trolley wheels!
Over the hill and down to Carrington. Where I was greatly cheered when I met Big John outside the laundry on Mansfield Road. We had a great chinwag. He said he’d come to see me soon, at the flat.
On the bus, I found the self-serve till receipt had an extra bt on it, for a copy of the Sun newspaper? Mmm!
No demand for any wee-weeing. Which was worrying!
It was slow going, and a bit of a grind is today’s updating.
same time to open the end window.
Got the nosh prepared. Bit of a feast this time. The cheesy potatoes were made with a drop of vinegar, and onion salt, using Leicester Red cheese. At least today, I got it all enjoyed and eaten. A worthy 7/10 for Flavour Rating. I watched Rumpole of the Bailey on TV, while I was dealing with the coenaculous activities (eating).
I got the handwashing done and hung to dry, and went for a wee-wee.

I must crack on today, the Doctors appointment at 08:50hrs, and Health Centre at 11:00hrs and some bread and tomatoes to be bought while I’m out.

Readied things for the hobble to the surgery. It was too early to take the waste bags to the chute.
The dang white Mercedes van was still there in the same place, parked up on the Winchester Street Hill pavement. I had to go out onto the road again to get around it. Tsk!
I arrived with plenty of time to spare and logged in with the receptionist. I had a bash at the crossword book. Got some in on puzzled I keep going back to. Swank-Mode-Engaged!
some nibbles and made my way to the Lidl store, as I had plenty of time before the Sherwood Health Clinic appointment.
I crossed over at the Pelican lights and made my way to the Sherwood Health Centre.
I hobbled back into Sherwood and called in the Wilko shop. I got a bottle of liquid soap-flakes and a bottle of bleach.
While frequently stopping to view and admire the greenery, trees, and watch the many dogs taking their owners for a walk. Haha!
I was in no rush, I was happy. When I got to the top and turned right onto the gravel hill path, and Winwood Heights came into view, I wondered and hoped that no resident had taken poor;y earlier, or worse.
The EQ warned be that I must take care and concentrate? No other tips, though. The mind was still in a state of nervousness and worry.
I stripped down to the PPs. I made some buttered wholemeal flatbreads and served up the nosh. It looked good, it smelt grand, and I was really enjoying it and watching Rumpole of the Bailey, as…

All done, I set about preparing things for Josie’s meal. The potatoes were almost ready to be mashed up with the Leicester cheese, got the Tuna chunks, tomatoes and beetroot out in advance, and the Limoncello dessert to the front of the fridge. I went to tell the neighbour of mine that the meal should be coming about 11:55hrs! But I couldn’t get an answer at Josie’s
door. Oh, dear! I did remind her yesterday, no, on Friday that the nosh would be served up about midday.
Back to the flat, and as I got my fodder sorted, I noticed the sky was looking a little threatening again. But, beautiful at the same time.

I got in the wet room and had a refreshing wash. The legs seem to be mutating again, and going back into a knobbly, misshaped blotchy sort of mode? Hehe!
The hands and arms had much more colour to them as well.

out into the sink again. I must get to advise one of our pulchritudinous, most highly desirous Oberstleutnantess Wardens of this later.

I made a start on this post. Then needed to go on CorelDraw to make up some more header and thought graphics. Took me a few hours, but I got them done.
Marie joined us, and she and Penny went off to catch the 40 bus on Winchester Street. Which left me all alone, and feeling oddly lonely. Sad innit?
I got off last, on Queen Street, and slowly made my way down the hill and through the slab square to Wheeler Gate and the Poundland shop. Where a successful shopping session took place. With then having many items they had not had in lately, caused this old twit, to come out having bought far too much stuff, and struggling with the three-wheeler and overfull carrier bag full of fodder! I came out with: 2×6 mini-bags of Twiglets. Two Pork Farms pork pies, pedal bin bags, and two bottles of Bleach. A bag of birdseed. Orange club biscuits. A ready-made BLT pack of sarnies. A Kit-Kat Special Edition ‘Ruby’ (to treat the Wardens with). Two cans of BBQ chilli & wedges. Payne’s misshapes chocolate almonds. The self-serve checkout machine red light came on twice, the young lady put it right, but I don’t know what I did wrong.
I left and made my way to the Slab Square, and took many photographicalisation. I intend to do a post with all the pictures on in the morning, after updating this blog. There are a good few, with a (hopefully witty) comments or two on every shot!
made my way to the Queen Street bus stop.
Back home to the apartment, and put away the sillily bought purchases. And got the easy-peasy to make meal prepared.
He soon had things in hand, but got another call on his mobile, and had to nip into the wet room to find the water cut-off. The trolley and cleaners were in the way, but he soon had them moved.
Yes, Inchcock doing what he does best again! It made me jump a bit! Haha! I nipped into the other room and cleaned up the wound and put some antiseptic cream on it.
I then spotted the letter from the Nottingham City Homes maintenance department.
I am more confused than ever, now. However, the decay with my mind and body deteriorating so fast as it is, this should not be of a surprising nature. Hahaha!

squeezer, flew out of the hand as the arm did a

chute. Caught a lift down to the foyer. Not a soul about.

As I came out of the shop, I took a picture of the Sherwoodanian pedestrians crossing the pelican lights against the red lights. It took me several tries to get a picture decent enough that I could use. Such was the hand-shaking at that moment.
coming towards me, up the hill. I managed to get a viewable shot of him on my second try. I nearly missed the gentleman. He was middle-aged, but by gum, he was fit enough to get a moved on, even going up the incline, bless him. Then another Herbert came down the hill!
I worked it out, that if I caught the bus at this stop, I’d have to pay £2.20 for the three or four stops lift up to the flats. I cunningly walked down the hill and into Winchester Street and caught the bus at the second stop.
Dropped off the bus, and had a few words with man residents, Mo, Penny, Nydia, and Wilf, amongst them.
Updated this diary until the meal was ready, then served it up.
