Inchcock Today: Fri 9 Oct 15 – Memory Test Today – Steve coming from Age UK – Wilko Whoopsiedangleplop!

Friday 9th October 2015

Up at 0455hrs. WC’d – Little Inchy bleeding badly, took ages to get it to stop this morning. Bloodied me new pyjama bottoms too – Huh!

Cuppa and took me medications and finished yesterdays diary and started this one off.

P1020250Falling off to sleep last night I didn’t post me nosh. So here it is: A salad of such a size I could only eat part of it – definitely a case of me eyes being bigger than me stomach! Hehe!

Red peppers, mushrooms in oil, pork pat’e, pork & pickle pies, pickled egg, mixed leaves, beetroot, bacon…

The large slice of the lemon curd Swiss roll got eaten though. Rated this dollop as 9.2/10.

Checked me emails and replied to em.

Got me Memory test today at noon at the GP surgery.

Steve from Age UK calling later to tell me about how things went with the £850 house clearance man, and the next stage in getting the old house sold. It seems to me I was young and had hair when Steve first told me: “No problem, we’ll soon have this house sold!” Almost 6 months have passed since he uttered those first encouraging words to me… Gobbleblottingcrap!

Still, he’s a nice laid-back bloke. Gave him a tin of Cadburys Celebration chocolates for Christmas yesterday… thought it might encourage him to get a move on…?

I get visions of his chasing after the hearse with me in it on the way to the cremated, shouting out “It’s sold… the house has gone…” Hehe, might as well laugh it’ll probably happen!

01topj4One of the new can openers fell to pieces as I was opening a tin of beans to marinate wiv me special seasonings. Gave up.

That’s the forth one since I’ve been here in this flat! No wonder I buy two at a time!

I seem to remember as a kid using one like this one in the photo. And it lasted for donkeys years!

I’m moaning again ain’t I?… Tsk!

P1020251Had a bath and shave and set off on me walk to the doctor’s surgery.

At the end of Chestnut walk as I turned right down Winchester Street. I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of the trees changing colour and took a photo of one. Absolutely beautiful!

P1020252Towards the bottom of the road was something, looked like paint to me, had decorated it and the vehicles had made the spillage whatever it was into Art-Deco street art!

It doesn’t show up well on the first P1020253photo I took of it.

At the junction a klaxon-blaring paramedic car went through towards the City Centre and I noticed whatever it was got sprayed by the tyres as the emergency vehicle belted passed.

P1020254When the traffic eased when the lights changed I took another photo.

It looked to me like a vehicle turning right had spilt the stuff when it was hit from behind.

I plodded on up the hill to the Sherringham Park practice.

Got in and booked missen in, checked with the receptionist about the time of me INR blood test on Monday are, and when me next monthly prescriptions will be ready.

The nurse called me in for the Memory Test.

She asked me what day it was, what the date was, then told me name address and colour to remember. Asked me to name the months backwards, then asked me what the name address and colour. I got the town wrong.

She left the room and returned, said they were going to send me to see some people for further tests, one at the City Hospital, one at the Queens and i was not to worry about seeing… not sure if she said Psychologist or Psychiatrist now.

she was her usual friendly self and said she was certain that when I got rid of the house worries and it was sold and done with, things would improve for me on their (Or should that be there?) own.

I gave her some nibbles and shot off to get the bus into town, to try to get some coasters that would fit under the chair legs to stop the carpet getting misshapen and torn.

P1020256Got in town and boy it was busy!

Went in Wilkinson’s store and asked a member of staff if they sold owt that would protect me carpet from the wooden chair legs.

The young man walked me (I struggled to keep up with me though) to the shelves where they were.

I pondered over them and bought some I thought might do the job. Glides they were called. Also got some Velcro-squares that could be useful, and some stick on little clear hooks to hang me stuff on the wall in the kitchen. Good job Duncan is visiting me tomorrow to help out bless him.

P1020255Had a walk around town for a while and the place was even busier than it was when I arrived.

Walked to the bus-stop and waited for the L9 bus to arrive.

There was a carer with a chap in the queue and the poor man was looking a tad threatening as he kept leering at folk who passed and was leaning in their direction. But it was obvious he was in some way handicapped. I said Good morning to him and he tried his best to hold a conversation. I think the carer was surprised when I tried to speak with the chap and I purposely did a lot of smiled in his direction. Poor bloke.

I said Cheerio to the man when they got off the bus, and the smile on his face made me feel so proud. Bet I meet him again… I hope.

Struggled to stay awake on the bus again.

Got back to the flat and put down the times of the appointments on e Google diary while I thought about it.

The gliders were too large for the chair legs and keep coming of each time I move or adjust the chair! Tsk! I tried me bestest.

I ordered some stuff from Wilko on the net, hopefully the last I’ll need. Spent another fortune. I paid for a Premier delivery not knowing what this was. When I got the email confirming the order, but didn’t know still when the order would be delivered as it said: Premier delivery the next working day! Was the next working day a Saturday or Monday? Bad news if it’s a Monday cause I’ve got two medical appointment then. oh dear!

02

Moments before it all collapsed! Tsk!

Steve from Age UK arrived. He tackled the problem with the delivery an sent then an email.

The told me the house was now all cleared. Told me next week he will talk to the building society about getting the house on the market.

Still going at a snail’s pace to me – but he thought we’d done well getting this far? Nice chap, good bloke Steve really.

He looked at the temporary curtaining I’d put up – and it collapsed! Ah well, it gave him a laugh. Hehe! He then good-naturedly let me take his photo and posed for it like King Neptune!

He also took some photo’s of me that I could doctor and use later on the web bless his cotton socks.

He then had a look at and worked how me Hoover works for me. At last I can use it! Hooray!

After Steve had left – I got an email from Wilko – All it did as confirm they had received it and it would be studied and read with 72 hours! Gordon Bennett I still don’t know when the delivery is coming now! Shit!

He also looked at the TV remote to work out why I kept getting blank screens and the set jumps into different modes – he gave up as well, just like I did.

IMG_0001Got me nosh made for later – and further Whoopsiedangleplops on the Wilko order developed…

A lady rang to tell me they were delivering on Monday – I struggled to get all she as saying at first but I asked her to speak slower and it all then okay. She changed the delivery day to Tuesday between 0800 > 1800hrs. I explained about the need for them to press 72 on the panel in the reception for me to let them in, and using the lift to the 12th floor… where she stopped me to check on the insurance for the deliver couriers and see if they can come up 12 floors? Good this innit? Keep up… Then she returned to tell me it is up to the couriers if he delivers up the lift or not – if I come down to meet him, he can tell me if he’s prepared to go up the lift or not!!!!

01topj5

So, after doing the order, and 30 minutes on the phone with the nice lady, my effort to spend £100 plus £8 delivery charge with Wilko, it seems I have to wait 4 days to find out if I’m actually going to get the delivery or not… Amazing!

I will not either way be tempted to spend any-more with them I can assure you! That’s if I manage to this time of course!

Pissed off nicely I had me nosh and felt rather down.

Huh & Tsk!

Inchcock Today Thu 8 Oct 15: Cleaning and polishing, Dizzies and drained

Thursday 8th October 2015

Up at 0605hrs, late getting off last night, well, this morning.

WC’d then made a cuppa, laptop on, medications taken – ‘Little Inchy’ bleeding.

Made list of things to try to get help with from Steve from Age UK when he calls.

Emailed appointment to the doctors for next Monday at 1020hrs for me INR Warfarin blood level test.

That reminded me, I must not forget me Memory Test tomorrow at noon… oh dear…

PatMCringGraphic finished for the TFZ site. hope they like it.

It’s me and Pat Melsted-Chabot wiv some animals in toe. The pussy cat in it was who Pat lost when he disappeared. I thought it a nice tribute to put her in it. As I say, I hope she likes it and is not upset.

Checked emails incoming.

Made another cuppa, WC visit again and a feeling of semi dizziness lingered, no actual bad attacks like yesterday yet, a sense of partial mistiness… Not a good description that, light headedness perhaps?

P1020238Laptop off and got the thing ready to clean the bathroom.

Nasty open pipework that flakes and seems to gather dust at the back were a sod to get cleaned. I must, soon as the old place is sold get someone to do something about this. Panelling or summat that is easy to clean and P1020239remove?

The big job tackled next – the kitchen.

Started with doing the windows. Devils own job as usual trying to get the damned window to turn around so I could clean the outside from inside if yer know worra mean like?

P1020240I got it turned eventually.

But that bugger of a switch mechanism on the right twixt the window and the alcove that allows only two inches of space for you to grab twist and hold it out damaged/squashed me thumb again. Tsk!

P1020243Used Dettol cleaner and window cleaner afterwards and managed to get it looking a bit better outside, still got the odd streak or two.

Turned it back closed and did the little window at the bottom then the main one and the paintwork.

P1020244Then, Arthur Itis started playing me up Huh!

The chips in the glass outside still annoying me though.

Set about doing the floor in the old-fashioned style – on me knees with a bowl of soapy water and rinsing and P1020245drying it off with kitchen towels in little patches as I moved backwards.

Getting up on me feet again afterwards was a bit of a painful kerfuffle I can tell yer. Huh!

Did the sink/draining board, cabinets, fridge, counters, cooker and paintwork after the floor had dried – not too bad a job compared to last time I did it.

Had a  cuppa and took me midday medications then forced missen to get the bag ready for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

I rang Steve from Age UK, but no answer.

It was heavy, and I needed to take another bag with me brolly, bird seed, nibbles etc with me.

P1020248Set off on a walk through Woodthorpe Park down into Sherwood. On the path down t Mansfield Road I spied two ladies with their dogs having a walk, and boy were those dogs having a ball. It made me wish I could have a dog and especially one like these two, so happy and tail-wagging at turbo speed. Bless em.

Down to the Hospice charity shop and handed them the donations. I bought a book while I was there, another J Clarkson one. Much as he annoys me at time I like his writing, crude, witty and bold. Another £3 spent I need not have… Tsk!

Back up to the Co-op store to spend £10 so I could use me £1.50 off voucher. Got amongst other bits some Cornish Clotted Cream raspberry ripple ice-cream. There seems to be no end to my spending recklessly! Got some salad stuff for nosh tonight.

To the bus-stop cause an L9 bus was due and I had me free pensioners bus-pass with me and was feeling a bit worn now after all that cleaning and walking.

I met the gal tenant from number 82 on the same floor as me at the shelter.

Had a good natter and gave her some nibbles. Caught the bus with her back to the flats.

Invited her in and gave her a tin of chocolates for her finding me hearing-aid and always talking to me when she met me.

01topj3Steve Age UK rang, he’s on his way to collect the dosh to pay the house clearers, he’ll be here in half an hour or so.

Laptop on and caught up with this diary.

Got me notes for Steve and the money ready for him.

It started to look a bit dark and rain threatening, and it had definitely had got colder than it was earlier.

P1020249Took a photo from the kitchen window of the threatening sky. The clean kitchen window I might add! Haha!

Fatigued now.

I sat and the last bits of any energy drained away.

Hey-ho…

Inchcock Today Wed 7 Oct 15: Wet in more than one way today…

Wednesday 7th October 2015

Up at 0405hrs, WC. Not feeling too bright this morning.

Haemmorhoids bleeding badly, dizzies early, Little Inchy sore and bleeding. Anne Gyna giving me a bit of grief.

On the brighter side the Reflux valve is a lot easier, and Arthur Itis not too bad at all in the legs or feet and only some twinging and stiffening in me hands as yet.

Recalled bits of a dream: Ladies in a big room, lots of ladies, all ignoring me as I ran around sticking labels with ‘Best before’ dates on the arms? I found myself in an office filled with purple coloured furniture, curtains and wallpaper, I knew this despite the dream being in mono? I was laying out desks and chairs and putting a pencil, spoon and an aubergine on each desk…

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Got me togs ready for the laundering session and went down to the laundry room. Met a Scottish lady from the first floor and had a chin-wag when he came in to start her laundering session.

P1020226Got the washer going and back to the flat. Had a cuppa and started this diary, then back down to take the washing from the machine to the drier.

Met the Scottish gal again.

Got the drier going and then back to the flat again.

Updated this again. Then back down to collect me washing from the dryer.

P1020227Brought the washing back up and ensconced it snugly in the airing-cupboard.

Made a cuppa.

Updated this diary, then finished off yesterdays diary and got it posted off to the web.

P1020225Morrison’s came and went, put the stuff away then got ready to go out to an Aldi store, to see if they have any Frikadellens on sale for me to try, so I can compare them to the Lidl ones I had for nosh last night.

I really did enjoy them – and a write up about them on the web says how healthy they are compared to burgers and sausages too!

Called at the hut on the way out, no one there so left some nibbles for them.

01topj3Caught the L9 bus, after an entertaining gossip with some of the other residents of the Stalag… no flats.

Took a photo for the bus window as we turned into and down Gordon Hill.

Got into town and I walked in the drizzling rain to the Aldi store. They had some Frikadellens in, but they were smaller and lighter than the Lidl ones, so I didn’t get any.

01topj4Walked over the road and through the Victoria Centre.

The rain coming heavier now and the wind got up.

Hobbled down into the slab-square in the City Centre.

01topj6There were some stalls there again, but with the rain they belting down not many people were inclined to stop and buy owt!

I popped into Primark and bought yet another cap, another waxed one and put it on in an effort to avoid getting too wet on me way home.

01topj5Made me way passed the Chilwell and Beeston bus stops to Queen Street and waited for the L9 bus to get me back to the flats and out of the rain and wind.

Had a dizzy-spell at the bus-stop. Must remember I thought, to take me BP when I get back home. (Nice work that, home).

01topj7 Took a photo from me seat on the bus, of all the buses surrounding the bus… Hehe!

No signs of falling asleep on the journey back to the Woodthorpe flats either today!

Rare that recently!

Got in the door and made hurriedly for the porcelain.

Did some spontaneous sorting out on the clothes racks, but got it all wrong and gave up when another dizzy-spell appeared.

That reminded me to take me reading so  did:

01topj9cSys: 88 Dia: 64 Pulse 74: Temp: 31°. I’ll ask the nurse when I go on Friday if these look okay, I forgot to ask her to look at me readings last time I went. Well fancy that Tsk!

The rain was still persisting down.

Decided to get me nosh early in case the dizzies persisted.

P1020236Had the easiest to make, but some Rosti potatoes in’t oven to have with some bread, made two sweet loin sandwiches and some beetroots, followed by a pot of mandarin yoghurt.

Laptop on updating while the Rostis warmed through.

Got the mobile in me hand to call Steve from Age UK and he called me!

He’s calling for the £840 for the house clearance man tomorrow – that is providing he had got it done by then – so with luck, once I pay-up we can start getting the house on the market. Good job I had professional help from Steve in getting somewhere to live and the old place on the market – it’s only took him 4 months to get this far. Tsk! (Now now Gerry, no bitterness please! Hehe!)

Made sure the money was still there and I’d not forgotten where I put it like.

Not feeling very bright again now.

Had me nosh, Rated it another 9/10, and fell asleep.

P1020237Woke an hour or so later and ran a bath, which I enjoyed apart from clouting me ankle when I was getting out.

Then made a cuppa and took me medications and updated this twaddle.

Nice view from the kitchen window tonight.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today Tue 6 Oct 15: Confused

Tuesday 6th October 2015

Up at 1205hrs… well I fell asleep early last night. Tsk!

01topj7WC’d and made a cuppa – realised I’d missed me medications last night, so took just one Trental blood release and one Warfarin tablet otherwise they might get a false reading at me INR blood level test later this morning.

Laptop on and pottered doctoring some earlier graphic attempts for a while, checked emails, Facebooked a bit, then to the WC again!

Checked me appointment time on the Google calendar, 0930hrs, so must set off in plenty of time as the first bus here is not until 0930hrs, and of course that is the time we pensioners can use our wonderful free bus-passes.

No bath either now, cause the noise of the running water will disturb me neighbours in the nearby flats (Apartments). A stand up wash and shave later will have to do.

01topj8The time flew by and it was soon time for me morning medications.

I did another search for the missing for three weeks now first time used saucepan lid.

I’m dumbfounded as to where this might have gone too?

Might get a new saucepan and lid today after going to the surgery? It’s possibly the only way I’ll then find the missing one? Hehe

I thought about how people coped during the war years after I read an article about alien-women being moved at the start of the war:

01topj9

Women classed as enemy aliens being escorted by police and officials to board trains at a London station, at the start of their journey for internment on the Isle of Man early in the Second World War.

Apparently the locals on the island had less food than the internees?

Scattered showers forecast for today, better take me brolly with me when I go out.

Remembered to do me health checks (Novel that for me!) Sys 140 Dia 68 pulse 68 Temp 36. I’ll ask the nurse if this is about right today, looks okay to me.

AngFinished and posted a Funny Caption Competition on the TFZ site.

This is Sandra Lentz, a notoriously avid Funnel Cake lover…

My caption was “Go on try it… Make my day!”

I put me Morrison’s order in.

Had me wash and shave, then got the bags ready to throw down the waste chute on me way out.

Called at the  Winwood Community shed in me way.

Chin-wag with Deana and Julie, gave em some nibbles.

Then walked into P1020214down into Sherwood in the light-drizzling rain.

The sun doing its best to come out.

The traffic was building a bit in Sherwood.

As I got towards the top of the hill P1020216it got a bit heavier – the bus lane being in use didn’t help.

Over the brow and down to the Gp surgery and booked myself in with the receptionist…

Only to find I’d got it wrong Again. I was certain the time of the INR Warfarin blood tests was 0900hrs – she informed me it was for 0945hrs – Tsk!

And I’d not got me crossword book with me either.

The nurse kindly saw me earlier though bless her.

Off and poddled down to the launderette and had a natter with BJ. He’s going to pick me up Sunday and take me to the Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s do. Thanked him and went to Lidl to get some nosh.

Got some Pork Frikadellens, seafood sticks, porridge pots, a white bloomer, a Lemon Swiss roll and some canned kippers in tomato sauce with vegetables, another tenner gone.

Caught the bus back into Sherwood.

P1020217Went in Wilkos in search of a cheapo saucepan with a lid and another can-opener, got em both alright, and a carpet cleaner spray all for under £9.

Poddled over the hill and up through Woodthorpe Park.

Had a sit on one of the benches for a while hoping to catch some wildlife to photo without any luck.

On up the path and down the crumbling path to the flats.

01topj3I took some photographs at the bottom near the flats of a squirrel, but he wouldn’t stay still long enough for me to get a decent one.

Into the flat and WC’d urgently.

P1020222Put me purchases away and got the kettle on.

Laptop on and filled in the Wilko customer thingy – I might win £100 they tell me… yea!

Got seasoned baked beans on the pan warming slowly, and the oven on and the Frikadellens in the oven.

Rang Pete and Jane, they are too busy this week for a meeting.

P1020225Got me nosh ready.

Lovely nosh it were… but I made too much of it.

Gave it a 9/10 though, I put some black bean sauce in with the baked beans and other seasoning and it tasty super!

For some reason it ages for me to nod-off. Tsk!

Inchcock Today Mon 5 Oct 15: Lost in his own pathetic little hypnagogic world

Monday 5th October 2015

Stirred around 0345hrs – cranked and encouraged the knees to allow me to move and get up and hobbled rapidly to the WC. They were not very keen on the idea thanks to Arthur Itises intervention this morning.

Nearly didn’t make it!

Thought of some dreaming I’d had:

I was in a massive house, and had opened all the doors and windows, made a pot of tea and waited for someone, anyone to call and have a chin-wag with me. For some reason I had a big stack of books and nappies (Diapers) at the side of the barbed wire covered settee I was sat waiting on? I kept cleaning the leather covered throne ready for me visitor and as soon as I wiped it crumbs reappeared on it?

Nobody came in, and as I was locking up the place a little dog came in, his tail wagging he went into this glorious kitchen with all the room one could need and every extra it seemed, and suddenly I didn’t know where I was and as unsure but thought I might have then been breaking into this luxury house and the dog belonged to someone who owned the house?

The dog jumped into the open dishwasher and came out with a blue plastic plate and dropped it at me feet – as he did a booming voice declared somethig along the lines of: “This is not lean enough – you will get a driving ban of two years and will have to take sewing lessons!”

Then some people appeared, belted me around the head with a walking stick, not mine though this one was made of gold?

Then they dragged me outside and threw me in a swimming pool. I shouted “I can’t swim!” And a woman of wide girth stood forward from the what was now a crowd of jeering people and said “You can’t wash pots properly neither – die you swine!”

Then I was in  a trench full of bodies with someone telling me to get to the end of the line?

This dream was vivid, and I remembered a lot of it I’m sure there was sure there was much more to it. I cannot recall ever remembering parts of any dream so lucidly?

Made a cuppa and took me medications, laptop on to record these memories quickly before they were lost in the ether.

Facebooked then got ready to receive me Morrisons delivery.

Could I find me hearing aids?

Well yes I did eventually.

Decided to go to town today and take a big bag to get some of the giant paper rolls.

Had a wash and shave, the Morrison man cameth. Put away the things and got ready to go and catch the bus to town.

01topj2I was going to wear me mew skull cap today that I bought yesterday… but it had shrank.

So I put me waxed Andy Cap on.

Had plenty of time so I went to the Winwood Community shed first. Told Deana and Julie about the meat flies and gave them some nibbles (Deana and Julie I meant) and the letters I’d received for previous tenant Margaret.

Had a natter at the bus-stop then caught the bus into town.

Dropped off and wandered up in the rain to the catering shop. Good job I put me waxed cap on now.

The shop was very interesting and not too pricey, they had some ideal trays for sale but I couldn’t carry them with the rolls I’d bought and I hoped to get some cheapo bobble hats from Primark afterwards.

got the bag of 6 rolls, just fitted in me other large carrier bag nicely.

P1020201Walked into town centre slab square. Where they were taking down some demonstration tent and buildings.

As I went into Primark the police were taking two shoplifters to their van.

It’s a very popular attraction for the Nottingham Shoplifters is Primark yer know.

P1020199I got a bobble hat, a cardigan and another Andy Cap.

Came out and meandered towards the L9 bus-stop on King Street.

Not many folk about with this drizzly rain today.

P1020202I noticed a different or new giant wicker floral Trail display near the Brian Clough statue..

A Teddy bear with a pot (Honey?)

It hadn’t been vandalised or had any fag-ends stubbed on it yet, so I assumed it was a new one like.

Nipped to the public WC in response to the urgent message from me bladder.

P1020203Limped up to the bus stop and once again, under a sign telling us that Nottingham had been declared the cleanest city in the Midlands was what you see in the photo on the left.

Some of it looked like it used to be part of some coleslaw, other bits were anyone’s guess?

I decided not to sit on the bench while awaiting the arrival of the bus.

Which arrived early and left early.

P1020204Managed to fall asleep on the bus journey back to the flats, but luckily only once and managed not to miss me bus-stop today.

Got in and put me hats away in the hanging drawers on the Ikea clothes rack, and the blue rolls next to em.

WC’d then made a small cuppa, took this photo and got the laptop on and checked me emails.

Did some preparatory graphicalisationing.

01topj3Got me nosh.

Very nice, rated this an 88.8/10.

Had a dizzy-spell and sat down for a few moments…

That turned out to be six hours as I drifted off.

Woke in the morning and fretted in case I’d left something on or a tap running and checked around – all seemed okay. Phew!

Hey-ho!

Inchcock Today: Sun 4 Oct 15:

Sunday 4th October 2015

01topj2Stirred and struggled to the WC at 0420hrs.

Problems with the haemorrhoids this morning – took a while to stop em bleeding and they were giving out an oddly, different pain?

The reflux valve had calmed down nicely. Arthur Itis and Ann Gyna were behaving themselves too. Little Inchy not bleeding so much as recently either. Good!

Cleared up the washing in the kitchen. Made a cuppa.

WC’d again, then tidied up the kitchen a bit more.

Noticed the corner stand I sorted yesterday in the living room – I didn’t like what I’d done with it at all. Looked tatty and out-of-place somehow.

Another cuppa and took me medications. Laptop on, checked emails and finished diary for Saturday off.

Got a feeling that Duncan was calling to see me today. Or is it next Sunday? Memory man eh? Me? Huh!

Did some graphic creating to use later.

Got an email from Dunc, he was coming today – but he’s got a chance to meet and greet his new grand-son. I hope he has a great time. Be nice for him.

Spent far too long on the graphicalisationing, but got a few done and posted like.

BettySant2 ShutAdict DuncPark LynToe

Another cuppa and did some blogging.

Seasoned me tinned tomatoes ready for later to have with some bread and sausages.

Then got missen a good bath and changed and decided to do me laundry if a machine was free then I could have a walk though Woodthorpe Park to try and get some photographs of the wild life, I might try to get some of the animals as well as humans. Hehehe! while waiting for the washing to get done.

I set off, dropping me waste bags down the chute en-route to boot – Hehehe and got me washing in the machine and went for a walk to take some photographs in the park.

Perhaps if I’d remembered to put me SDHC card in the camera instead of leaving it in the laptop I would have had more luck in this mission?

Got back after me photographless walk and moved me washing into the drier. then set about a good session with me crossword book while I waited in the reception area.

P1020196Back up to the flat to find several more meat-flies in the kitchen? Where are they coming from?

I made short work of bagging them though – they don’t scare me!… much… well, only the bigger ones like.

I cleaned up the paintwork and corpses and said a few words of remembrance as I wrapped them up and put em in the bin.

Msherlock1To the WC, haemorrhoids leaking again. Huh!

Made a cuppa then put the laptop on and update this diary.

Did some more graphicationalising on Corel Draw X7.

Must remember NOT to go to the GP surgery fer me INR Warfarin blood level tests tomorrow – they are on Tuesday this week @ 0930hrs – then on Wednesday the audio clinic then Fri 1200hrs back to the GP for me memory testing test.

Cleaned me hearing-aids inside plastics. Then took me BP and temperature.

Sys 179 – Dia 80 Pulse 64 and Temp 32.4 Looks okay to me.

P1020198Got me nosh that I enjoyed.

Rated as 8.9/10.

The now familiar weariness overcame me and it took what seemed an endless time to nod-off.

Amazingly no trips to the procelain at all!

Inchcock Today Fri 2 Oct 15: Memory test – Whoopsiedangleplop!

Friday 2nd October 2015

Head Mon

Spent the night in the chair again dosing off and waking every few minutes – Tsk!

Forced missen to give up and rose to go to the porcelain around 0700hrs – late for me, but had so little sleep.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

I’d left the hearing aids soaking to de-coke the ear-pieces last night, so cleaned em and refitted the tube then put them in the drawer in me 1967 G-Plan cupboard where they should be, so as not to throw hem out with the rubbish of lose them again. (Another effort to train me failing memory)

Got the memory test at the doctors at noon today.

Spent a good while finishing yesterdays diary off and Facebooking. Too long really, but I enjoy it?

Got a bath and shave etc and the things ready I’ll need today on me trip out: Audio clinic record card, bus-pass, camera (I love this Panasonic Lumix camera), bank card, cash, keys, bus time-table me hat and some nibbles for the medical staff were all put in me bag or pockets.

Set off on me walk to the surgery. Met two residents as I left and we had a little chin-wag, by gum I like having these little chin-wags.

Hobbled to the surgery, well pleased with me timing when I arrived and told the bemused looking receptionist I’d come for me Memory Test. After a few minutes looking for  the appointment she realised it was for NEXT Friday not today! Whoopsiedangleplop number one of the day – Tsk!

I laughed it off, but inside I was getting a bit worried about yet another memory kerfuffle!

As I left the surgery I decided that i would go into town to try and get one of the really large rolls of paper towels that I saw advertised in the shop window at only £1.20 each, then have a run out on the bus to Derby to try and get some photographs of the mallards on the river Derwent.

P1020175Another Nottingham pavement cyclist was recorded on me camera as I arrived at the bus-stop.

Taking this photo I missed the approaching bus. Huh!

Got into town and walked to the shop that had the towels in the window. I found that the £1.2o price did not include VAT – making them £1.39 an you had had to buy a pack of 6 of em minimum. I could have used the six cause they looked good and useful, but I could not carry them. Tsk!

I wondered if this was going to be another bad day for all me plans?

Undaunted I limped down and through the City Centre onto Friar Lane to catch the Y5 bus that takes the scenic route to Derby. As I was reading the timetable to find that the bus left in seven minutes time – it pulled away making me feel a bit P1020176of a plonka! The next one was due in twenty minutes, so I had walk around town for a while.

Clinton Street had it’s usual crush of people, so I went the other way around to avoid getting delayed.

Back into the City slab-square I P1020177observed tow imitation policewomen nattering on the steps of the Council House as the chap in the foreground chased after two yoblets for some reason or other.

It didn’t disturb or stop them having their natter though.

Got back and on the bus to Derby. This one left on time – I’m thinking of writing to the company to congratulate the driver?

P1020178As we drove into the Beeston Bus-station i noticed a sign on the window of the Team Elite Kickboxing with the sign on the window informing us it was ‘The Family Business of the Year for 2015?

Continued the nice sunny run out to Derby. Looked in me bag for me crossword book and there it was gone?

P1020179Arrived in Derby and dropped off early to go down to the side of the river Derwent mallard searching.

I was so pleased with getting a rare shot of the pigeons on a broken tree branch near the bank. You just don’t expect to find pigeons posing like this do you.

P1020181Then I fed some seeds to the pigeons on the steps and got another decent shot in as they fought each other to get to the fodder. The ones on the branch stayed there and didn’t come for the seeds.

Very strange that I thought?

01topj7Someone further down the steps fed some bread to the water birds and I got this long distance photo of them arriving in a convoy to investigate the food.

Then I pondered about why else I had come to Derby – surely I wouldn’t have come just to take photos of the birds? I decided to have a nip around the Eagle Market then get back to Nottingham.

Making use of me free pensioners bus-pass today! Hehe!

Had a poddle around and saw some Amber I think they are, Bling and took a photo of them for the TFZ gals.P1020184

There is something about this type of jewellery I find attractive, maybe because they look old, aged?

I was going to get some photo’s of fashion clothes but had a dizzy spell, so I decided to make me way back to the bus-station.

01topj9Caught the Y5 bus again, this time back to Nottingham..

I can’t recall much of the journey as I spent most of in in the land of sleep like.

Luckily the driver was driving jerkily and slamming on his breaks very often, so I was awoken as we arrived in Nottingham.

Had wonder round when I realised I’d missed the last L9 back to the flats, to kill a few minutes until the 40 bus was due. This one drops off on Winchester Street and it’s only a few minutes walk to the flats from the bus stop on the hill. Mind you, getting across the road on the bend on the hill is life threatening!

When I returned to catch bus, I thought there was a football match on somewhere, but it was only the massive Queue for the bus. Huh!

P1020186Got on and managed to get the last seat in the Old foggy reserved ones.

Took a photo from the seat of the other passengers who had to stand crammed in like sardines.

I managed with difficulty not to fall asleep on the way back.

Two elderly ladies got off at the same bus-stop, and we all crossed the road together – but they never spoke to me. Huh!

They walked off after we’d crossed and they went into the Private senior Citizens Home at the end of the road.

Got missen in and to the porcelain sharpish.

Got into the kitchen to put the kettle on and there were six dirty great meat flies on the window? Took me a good while but I knobbled em in the end. I wondered how they were getting in, maybe through the hole in the wall behind the cupboards?

Changed into me layabout comfy togs and slippers.

Got me nosh in the pan –  Mild chilli, with potatoes and black bean sauce. For some reason I lost me appetite and turned it off?

Made me cuppa, and took me medications, laptop started.

Then had a look at the mail that had been delivered. Three for previous tenant Margaret and two, yes Two… fer me. Virgin Media trying to sell me summat called a Tivo, and Nottingham City Council telling me I am now on the voting list for this address.

Made another cuppa and updated this diary.

Getting dark earlier now.

Had look on the BBC news page on t’internet.  …. 14 year old plans to behead police officers – Syria being bombed and the Oregon massacre… as far as I got, depressed I went back to Facebooking.

Evening all.

Brekkers today!

Thursday 1st October 2015

Woke around 0400hrs – Found some notes I must have written on me pad on the side of the chair where I fell asleep last night. Hard to read though.

WC’d, put the kettle on then made a cuppa and took me medications. used old camera to take photo of me brekkers.

Can’t remember details of the dreams now, so I’ll just copy the notes here: Boats, canal, France/French people… Ferry, sea, End of the world, tried to get licence to shoot politicians, Osborne, medal/award… shot myself with nail-gun and missed, hit a Ford Prefect car? There were some words I could not make out at all.

Back to the WC.

DSC00087Feeling okay this morning, the bruising on the arm was a lot easier, Little Inchy not bleeding too bad, the rear end was leaking a bit of blood, the angina bothersome a bit, Arthur Itis not bad at all. The reflux valve no worse than usual.

Caught sight of the bedroom… oh dear, 01topabetter close the door – oh… it won’t close will it, thanks to the damned Crap United Carpet fitters!

Laptop on to start this diary off.

Got me laundry bag and added a few bits, coins, soap powder and down to the laundry room to start me washing off.

DSC00089I thought it was a good idea to do me laundry early to beat the rush during the day – Huh!

Three others arrived to do their ashing or drying.

Had a chin-wag with a bloke tenant I’d not had a chance to talk to before.

Put me washing in the drier, making room for  the bloke to get his laundry in the washer.

Returned to the flat and the WC porcelain was utilised yet again.

Updated this diary to here.

01topj6Popped down to see if the drier had finished and collect me washing.

While waiting for the drier to finish, I decided I’d get out to the Forest today and try to take some photographs of Goose Fair. This photo is of the 2005 Opening of Goose Fair.

Brought the washing back up and WC’d again.

Put me togs in the airing cupboard and made a cuppa.

P1020001Laptop back on and found this photo I took yesterday from the kitchen window of a woman with two dogs in the paddock 13 floors below.

Not a good picture, nothing special… but it was to me, seeing the two dogs tails wagging away cheered me up.

Got me rubbish bags ready to drop down the chute after 0800hrs.

Did some Facebooking.

Made a start on the October horoscope forecasts.

Readied missen for me trip to town and the Goose Fair. Caught the bus to Sherwood. Nice Chin-wag on the way with some tenant ladies.

P1020153Dropped off in Sherwood. Called in the charity shop to see if they had any large brown Ottomans or book stands in stock – no they didn’t.

Then caught a bus into town.

The Pavement Cyclist in this picture on the right was weaving in between pedestrians swiftly and closely. The scum-bag!

P1020154As I walked into town to catch the tram to the forest and the goose Fair, I noticed that the  Lord Mayors and Civil dignitaries cars had been allowed to park where I did when responding to an alarm activation years ago and I got a parking ticket!

Caught the tram to the Fair – talk about P1020164sardines in a tin!

They all spewed out at the Goose Fair though, me along with them.

A tram was going the other way. I photographed it with the mini-helter skelter in the background.

P1020156The Goose Fair was due to be officially opened and there was not many folk about so I had a wander around taking some more photographs.

Some of the stalls and rides were open already.

P1020157The rip-0ff stall with tons of wonderful prizes on display, where one buys a ticket in the vain forlorn hope that one of the numbers on it will match the long list of winning numbers was open.

Hah!

P1020158Never seen a winner on it yet!

The traditional Waltzer was still being erected.

The Ghost train looked well designed on the outside I have must say.

Very atmospherically presented.

P1020155Mind you, at advertising £5 quid a ride on the first day, I wondered what it would be costing folk on Saturday night – the time the rides usually double or more in price?

It wasn’t finished being erected either.

I noticed a small stand at the side of it P1020161still being made-up called ‘Beat the Bar’ – should be no problem for the Nottingham Alcoholics that. Hehe!

As I plodded around I saw some of the Nottingham dignitaries in their chains of office lurking waiting amongst the Newspaper and TV people for the arrival of the Lord Mayor.

P1020159The kids kid corner rides were all ready for the Nottingham ankle-snappers and apprentice muggers to arrive with their benefits receiving parents.

I did notice the huge amount of food stalls this year, already giving off attractive smells to tempt folks to spend their dosh.

P1020160At one of the unopened yet food stalls that advertised kebabs and Halal foods, I saw a sign on the outside of the trailers seeking staff to work at it – female only it said?

Is that legal nowadays?

White slave traders perhaps?

P1020162The food stall near one of the entrances the one on the right in this picture, advertising bacon and beef burgers had two people cooking ready for the rush in it – and I have to say it smelt absolutely ruddy marvellous to me!

And in amongst the sauces they had some beetroot pickle too!

P1020163One one of the unfinished rides they had i presume American football team helmet at the front of the ride.

Just wondered if they were made up or real team names.

I’d heard of a couple of them like.

P1020165As I left the ground to catch a tram into Bulwell and get to the GUM clinic I espied from the tram platform, two Fair caravans right next to each other for Gypsy Fortune Tellers like.

The first one Advertised on the boarding: P1020166‘Gypsy Rosa Lee – Clairvoyant Palmist etc. Open.

The second one advertised: ‘Daughter of Gypsy Roas Lee. Open.

Tickled me a bit seeing them their together.

I assume that mother Gypsy Rosa Lee P1020167hanging out of the door knew she wasn’t going to get cancer as she chuffed away on a fag?

Hehehe!

Caught the tram into Bulwell and walked over the bridge into the market place stopping to take a photo of the wonderful Mallard ducks as I crossed over the bridge over the river Leen into Bulwell Main Street.

As I crossed over the Market Place, no stalls on today, I pondered on how dejected the place and people looked?

P1020168Bulwell having the highest unemployment rate and number of disable registered folk in Nottingham i assume they can thank Mr Couldn’t care less Cameron and ‘Orrible Osborne for their downtrodden gloomy looks?

P1020170Slipped the pigeons some seed.

Even they looked depressed! Huh!

And many of them had club-claws?

I nipped into Fultons Foods to see if they owt on offer hat might appeal – but I came out empty handed. Then I popped into Iceland to get some bread thins. Then into Heron Foods – where I got some battered fish cakes and fingers, along with some potato cakes at 600g for 79p.

Made me way back to the bus station and caught a bus with the intention of getting off at Hayden Road and walking through to catch a bus to Sherwood – however… best laid plans and all that… I fell asleep and woke up as we were P1020171arriving in Nottingham City Centre – Tsk!

Got off near the abandoned and apparently unsellable old Guild Hall Courts building – that was next to the new E-on building that cost many millions to build. No wonder the Franch owned company charge so much for their electricity.

I walked to Queen Street and caught a 40 bus.

P1020172When the bus left and stopped to pick-up folk at the Victoria Centre stop – I noticed some ladies in the bus shelter and something appealed to me about them, all differing nationalities, ages etc and they sat there chatting away happily between themselves.

They didn’t seem to happy mind when I got me camera trained of them through the bus widow though – Oh dear…

Dropped off on Winchester street and walked to the flats. Luckily I woke up just before the stop came up.

I must ask the GP about all this falling asleep on the buses!

Remembered me ‘Mind Test appointment tomorrow at noon.

As I was going up the lift at the flat, the one lift left working at the flats – I realised I’d not been to the GUM clinic – Whoopsieddangleplop day again then!

Tsk!

Just made it to the porcelain in time.

Put me food in the freezer and made a cuppa.

Laptop on and updated this diary, checked me emails and did some more work on me Horoscope post.

P1020173Got me nosh – Beetroot, bread thins, potato medallions, battered fish fingers and fish-cakes, tomatoes and cheese pops.

Wonderful! Rated this one 9.05/10!

Nodded off in the chair again, no bath, no shave, no nibbles, no rest, just kept on waking and nodding off again until 0700hrs, when I got up to go to the porcelain…

Wed 30 Sept 15: Inchcock Today – Hey-ho!

Wednesday 30th September 2015

P1020143

Misty Morning

Woke around 0500hrs – Dreamt of abandoned offices building again, with me either chasing or running away some peoples?

Urgent trip to the porcelain – I’d left some hand cloths soaking in the sink so went into the kitchen to wash me hands. Saw the medication pots I’d washed to use later were still on the draining board and needed wiping and the lids putting back on and placing in the drawer. So I got them all sorted with lids that fitted and put them in the bowl to carry them to the drawer for storing – Early Whoopsiedangleplop here… dropped the bowl! So had to cleaned them all again! Huh!

Made a good strong cuppa and took me medications.

Laptop on and did what I didn’t do last night cause I fell asleep early. Got yesterdays diary finished and posted.

Stated this diary then did some Facebooking while I had the chance.

Hurriedly got missen scrubbed up and to the bus stop outside the flats. Bit of a chin-wag with the other residents.

I managed to catch the wrong bus Huh! It was the L9 I caught, but it was the one going away from town not to town. Laugh… well no I didn’t actually. Dropped off in Sherwood and caught a bus into town.

01topj2As I walked along towards the bus-stop to go to Jane & Pete’s – I was reminded of the Alfred Hitchcock film, ‘The Birds’.

Harmless ones though – the pigeons are likely to crap on you from a great height, but I don’t think they would peck one to death?

Got the bus to Jane’s mansion and was greeted with a nice cuppa and a smile. (A bit of a rare and worrying event that!)

I set about trying to get Pete’s Spy Camera software to load. After around three hours I got it loaded – then we spent another hour trying to set the date on it – without any success.

I was really up-tight about me failure when Steve of Age UK rang but I couldn’t get me phone in time, so rang him back. He’d spoke with two people and got quotes from them, both high, £800 and £850 pound for the house clearance… Oh dear. He said he trusted the £850 man more than the £800 bid. So I agreed and told Jane and Pete I’d have to go, so I could get to the bank and get the money ready in case they could get to do it quicker than next week as will be planned

Said me cheerios and set off and caught a bus into town.

01topj3

Exchange Walk, Nottingham City centre

To the bank, then worked out I had some time to spare before the last L9 bus left, so had a walk around, starting in the slab-square, then up King Street.

Walked up to Trinity Square where I found some ‘Bling to photograph for the TFZers site.

01topj4Can you believe the prices of these glasses in a shop window in Trinity Square?

I put the prices in Canadian, Australian and Canadian dollars so the TFZers can understand exactly what the English pounds in costs/prices actually represent in their money.

01topj5Got to the bus stop in plenty of time, passing the Cafe Row of shops on the way.

You can see how busy they were not can’t you?

Just as well I got there early because the bus pulled out three minutes early. Tsk!

I managed to fight falling asleep until just before the flats – and missed my stop, but got off at the next one and walked back. Wot a plonka!

Got in WC’d and made me salad ready for later and washed the pots.

Laptop on and made sure I added the  time of Fridays ‘Memory Test’ at the doctors, 1200hrs to me Google calendar that the surgery had given me in rely to me email bless em.

Updated this diary, then did some Facebooking with drooping eyelids. Hehe!

Went to make another cuppa to take me medications and found I’d left the hot tap water running! Getting depressed with missen now!

No bath tonight then, the water heater was not working?

01topj7Got me nosh.

Rated it 8.4/10, nice salad. Mushrooms, oiled and sliced some red peppers, Krakowska pork sliced up, garden peas, wonderful beetroot, boiled eggs, pork and pickle mini pies, tomatoes, last of the veggie bacon (No more to be had now, a one-off from MarieH agedFulton foods) some bread thins, spread with Bertolli Olive Oil spread and butter.

Checked me emails again – did a graphic of TFZ’s Marie. with Marie and a photo in the background I took today at the jewellery shop. I’ll post it later on the site.

Did some WordPressing reading and voting.

I decided to get just one bag sorted tonight… however I foolishly decided to have a cuppa first… and nodded of in the chair…

Tsk!

Inchcock Today: Tue 29 Sept 15:

Tuesday 29th September 2015

Woke around 0400hrs – No dream memories, but plenty of pains Tsk! The new swelling on me arm was taking the lead pain-wise possibly because it’s a new one, although the swelling had gone down a lot, the tenderness was the same. The reflux valve had gone down nicely at last. Arthur Itis was calm, Anne Gyna was giving out warning signs of what she intended for me later in the day though.

01topj2And the old scars on me chest and tummy from the heart operation had gone a fluffy white colour for some reason? The skin cancer wound was itching like crazy?

Possible perhaps that the scars and cancer wound problems were due to me using a different bath soak?

Still, other than these worries I was in decent spirits this morning, despite me busy day ahead!

I must try to avoid any more Whoopsiedangleplops today.

Put the kettle on and off to the porcelain – to find ‘Little Inchy’ had been bleeding again, but the hammorhoids had for once not been doing so.

Started the laptop and took me medications. Must find time to do up some more medication pots soon. Today is going to be a busy one again, more-so in fact. Got Morrisons coming early, on time I hope or I’ll not be able to get to the Doctors in time for me appointment, then to the chemist, then into town to the audio clinic for some batteries (Thankfully they do not charge us pensioners for em you know), try to get to a pound shop for some woolly hats, then to Loxley House to return me election papers and after all that, to the GUM clinic to get me cream for ‘Little Inchy’ – that’s if I haven’t forgotten owt like?

Still, the hernia and ulcer aren’t giving me any gip at the moment.

I realise how lucky I was to find me missing hearing aid yesterday and pondered if I’d ever find me missing camera memory card or the missing saucepan lid?

So busy with much to get done.

The right arm was hurting now without my using it – even when I just moved it, hurts when I straighten the arm too, it tingled a bit all the time? I don’t like this at all.

Started a graphic for a post while I had the time.

Got missen cleaned and polished for the days efforts to come.

Morrisons delivery arrived I quickly put away the fridge and freezer products.

Bag, nibbles, bus-pass, camera, hearing aids etc in bag and pockets and off on me walk to the GP surgery.

P1020133Thirty minutes later I arrived at the surgery.

booked in and crossword book out while I waited me turn.

Called in and met with Dr Vindla (Who as wearing a very short skirt and Little inch needed controlling) and told her about me blown-up legs and asked about whether I could go back on thee Furosemide tablets. She explained that as I was on so many medications she didn’t want to risk affecting the balance of effect of the others and said to see how it went – ‘Put my feet up whenever I could at night and keep up with the walking’.

Then she had a look at the pain in my right arm – I said I can see no bruising in the mirror and explained the pain. Turns out it was massive bruising and she asked me however this occurred. I had no idea?

I did feel a fool!

She suggested I take a memory test and told me to book one with the receptionist on the way out. which I did for Friday, but forgot to write down the time, later I sent an email asking for the time.

P1020134Gave them their nibbles and set off on the bus into town.

The first sight when I got off of the bus was a Nottingham Pavement Cyclist who rode over the lights and along the pavement weaving between pedestrians. The Swine!

P1020136I noticed that at the entrance to Clinton Street, the traffic lights had been hit again.

Not that it stopped the famous Nottingham pedestrians from still crossing against the lights at all!

Walked through into the slab square and up to the audio clinic where I nearly grew hair again waiting to get some hearing-aid batteries. This is one of the more morose NHS places I have to visit, possibly because the patients being deaf there are no conversations going on?

P1020138The lady who spoke to me was almost impossible to lip read – no idea what she was saying but she looked rather stern faced? Frit me a bit!

Back down into the centre, feeding some pigeons en-route. I love the pigeon on the right with its legs apart and looking up.

P1020140Through the slab square. Not many folk about today in the centre.

Across and up through near Clinton Street again and I espied a new to me market stall laid out with three obviously Eastern European gentle men with stubble on their faces that spouted a threatening look at anyone P1020139who went near their many tables laid outside on the walkway. At least they were trying to make an honest living I thought.

They had many boxes of shoes and leather goods stacked up against the wall and their priced were really low.

The ladies boots in the photograph I took were all either £10 or £20.

Called in the pound shop and got a tin of stewed steak for a change.

I caught the bus to the GUM clinic as the day melted away – gawd it was going quickly.

Brother-n-law Pete rang me, he was having bother sorting getting his spy-watch sorted on the laptop I gave him. I told him I’d come to his mansion in the morning in an effort to help out.

Got me cream and on the bus back into Sherwood.

Then a Whoopsiedangleplop of sorts!

I fell sleep on the bus and missed me stop, in fact I woke up as the bus was arriving in the city centre!

Caught a bus back to near the flats and hobbled home – ‘Home’ – a nice word that nowadays.

Got in, WC’d, creamed little Inchy. Then put away the other stuff I’d had delivered earlier from Morrisons.

Sorted out me medication pots and took the nights doses.

Head Tue

P1020142Got me nosh on. Mixed some black bean sauce in with the stewed steak, made some mash and had it with some garden peas. Followed by a lemon mousse with Cornish clotted cream, delicious!

Rated this 8.2/10.

Decided to wash the dishes up after eating it and managed to drop me big dish when cleaning it – what a mess!

Sat down and put me legs up on the Ottoman… and that was that! Nodded off into oblivion.
