Inchcock Today – Tuesday 6th June 2017: Cor blimey… INR level (Target 3.5) now at 9.1 – Scared to shave now! Hehe!

Tuesday 6th June 2017

Japanese: 2017年6月6日火曜日

Stirred, still feeling a bit tired around 0425hrs. Again, no memories of any dreams, just a feeling that I had, had some?

Off for a wee-wee.

Took the medications and luckily spotted I had put the evening doses (The midday ones were okay) in the morning doses pots the other day in error.  So I set about changing them.

2Tue02It had apparently been raining most of the night.

Still drizzling a bit. I’ll have to get the big coat on or remember to take the brolly with me when I go to the surgery for the INR blood test. Cause it is a 38-minute walk to get there.

To the Porcelain Throne to tend to an imminent motion. Not so bad this morning… not easy or painless mind, but improving methinks. I hope.

Got the nibble in the bag for the nurses, then got the computer on. Checked the Emails first.

2Tue03One from Iceland telling of some red potato chips they are selling. I found the idea appetising. Never heard of Bergerac Potatoes, I might go on to Bulwell after the doctors and see if I can get some to try?

Carried out the Health Checks next. The weight had shot up a bit, but all else looked okay to me:

Sys 151, Dia 76, Pul 91, T 35.8 & Weight 14.82.

Another wee-wee.

Started to update the diaries then began this one. Did some WordPressing. Off for another wee-wee. (Getting worrying all this wee-weeing? Hehe!)

2Tue05Yet another wee-wee.

I decided that if I am to get some of those Purple Chips later, will get some pod peas podded and into the slow-cooker with some demerara sugar in them, and if I’ll remember. I can turn them on when I leave. Good idea?

Unbelievably, I had another wee-wee! Problems here perhaps? I’d better mention this to the nurse later.

Soon be time to do the ablutions, so a not to be late setting off on the hobble into Carrington for the blood test. A quick bash on Facebooking.

Updated some photo albums, then shot off (Well, hobbled) to the wetroom for the good in-depth ablutionisationing session and a wee-wee.

2Tue06Got the new coat on and collected the bag and set out on the hobble to Carrington and the surgery.

As I passed the Chestnut Trees, the damage caused by the winds overnight and this morning were visible. Made me feel a bit sad.

Onward and down Winchester Street Hill into Sherwood and left up and over the long incline 2Tue07and down into Carrington. The rain didn’t stop at all, but it was far less severe than earlier, but the winds continued to be high and vigorous.

Logged in at surgery and sat having a go at the crossword book. Actually did rather well progress wise for a change. The nurse called me in. We had a chinwag while she took the blood, gave her her nibbles and was off. The nurse had a bit of a job stopping the bleeding afterwards.

Gave the reception team their bag of fodder to gnaw on as I left the building, out into the now heavier rain and winds.

I thought to myself, it would be advantageous to me if I went to the Arnold Iceland store instead of the one at Bulwell, then I could catch an L9 bus back all the way to the flats. Walked to the bus stop and caught a bus into Arnold. Got the crossword book out again. Looked up and realised I’d gotten onto the wrong bus. Humph! I had to drop off well away from where I intended to, and walk for about a mile up and down the hills, in the 2Tue08rain and wind back to Arnold.

Oh, I was annoyed with me! Tut!

The torrential rains now were stopping me using the camera with nowhere to shelter, until I got to the open market.

Purchased some fresh pod garden peas from here.

Checked on the time, and if was to catch the L9, haste was needed at the Iceland store in getting the Purple Chips. It took me a while to find the chip freezer, and I bought some mini pork & Pickle pies and a pack of two beef patties en route to finding the chips, of which I bought two packets.

To the checkout and paid using the Visa by swiping, as it was only a total spend of £5 exactly.

Hobbled as speedily as the now aching feet would allow me, and got to the bus stop with three minutes to spare!

2Tue09As the bus arrived in Sherwood, two fellow tenants got on the bus.

Ethel and Roy, it was like a family meeting with much joviality and banter ricocheting between the three of us.

Quite cheered me up, that session did.

Back at the flats, all three of us struggled with the gusting winds from the bus to the foyer. Roy told me that the winds on his 14th floor were howling through to noisily this morning.

Got into the apartment, took a wee-wee, midday medications and got the oven warming up for the chips.

2Tue09aThe computer on and updated this diary. An hour or so later put the chips into the oven and set the alarm for 15 minutes.

Had a wee-wee. A quick blast on Facebook, then got the meal served up.

Had to cook the chips for awhile longer, still soft.

2Tue11Got the meal served up!

The purple chips looked really odd and out of place.

They did not have much taste to them. Sorry that I got two packs now. Tsk!

Had a rinse and a wee-wee and noticed one hell of a bruise on the top of the leg?

Fell asleep, woke up feeling frigid. Tried to make use of the Porcelain Throne, but only succeeded in getting things blocked again, and had a battle that needed patience and gave up after a long time trying.

Got the Gogglebox on and fell asleep again. Woke up needing a wee-wee, and the phone chirped-up. Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and answered it. T’was from the Thrombosis & Anticoagulation test centre, telling me my INR level was… wait for it bearing in mind the target is 3.5… now, 9.1! Argh! She said not to take any Warfarin tonight – which just goes to display my luck, I’d taken the Warfarin already! Warned me to take care shaving, of banging, cutting or scraping myself and if I did, I must contact the three 9’s for assistance.

Also, I must go to the doctor’s surgery and have another INR blood test on Thursday. I explained that I didn’t think they could fit me in at such short notice, and she said they will have to!

I got the computer back on and sent an Email to the surgery.

2Tue12

Time to take the greatest of efforts not to stub my toe for a few days and be weary and steady when shaving. Humph! No wonder I feel so cold now, with the blood being so thin. Thinking of whether I should go out for tomorrow’s Tenant’s meal or not?

Tried again to make use of the Porcelain Throne. No movement at all, even after a long effort during which I found there are 489 tiles in the wetroom. Haha!

Updating this diary and the surgery rang me in response to the Email and the Anticoagulation new dosage. It is the same doses as last week? I explained about the call from the hospital and being told to book in for a blood test for Thursday – she said no, it has got to be for tomorrow! She stated that they could get me in for 1130hrs – I told her about the Tenant’s Meal in Arnold at midday, and she made an appointment for Thursday at 1000hrs?

When I put the details on the calendar, I realised I had not left myself much time to get to and from the hospital tests for the Deep Vein Thrombosis? Oh, heck!

Still, thinking about this, it goes a way to explain the increase in Dizzy Derek visits… I think? The wee-weeing so often; thought the thin blood might have something to do with this, but maybe not.

Feeling very confused and concerned with the lack of movement from the innards, and feeling cold, I’ve actually put on my dressing gown now, the rain has stopped and the evening sunshine came out.

Going to try and get my head down early, even for me, but after all the kerfuffle, I didn’t feel tired anymore? Up for a wee-wee, washed up and got the Gogglebox on again.

The winds still howling away outside, the rain a falling and me having to take extra care to avoid physical Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplops… Is it asking a lot of me innit?

The dozing soon started, drifted off and w2Tue12ahen I woke ten minutes later I recalled a War & Peace length dream and wrote some bits down on the pad. In the morning when I got around to updating this diary, the memories written down once again were unreadable. Bits I could recall were few, involved an Austin A30 van and my head without a torso climbing out of a pram? Did this graphic for a bit of fun.

Dozed repeatedly through the programmes I wanted to watch, went for a wee-wee and turned off the telly and sat there thinking will I be able to get to sleep properly with so many nod-offs…. Zzzz!

Inchcock Today – Monday 5th June 2017

1Mon01

Monday 5th June 2017

Indonesian: Senin 5 Juni 2017

Up at 0425hrs: Really annoyed that I could not remember the many dreams I’d been having, not the foggiest idea what they were about, but somehow I felt they were recordable, different and scary?

I felt uncomfortable down below, Little Inchy stinging and Haemorrhoid Harold had unquestionably been bleeding. To the Porcelain Throne to attempt a passing. Managed it, painfully, but no worse than Monday’s event. I felt glad I had got all the washing done yesterday now, as I put some of the night attire in a bucket to soak in disinfectant and the rest in the laundry bag. Cleaned me up, sprayed the room with Dettol disinfectant spray and wiped all the contact areas. The innards were feeling a bit tender and rumbling now, too.

2Tue02Into the kitchen and as soon as I looked out of the window and the red clouds, the old saying came to me: Red Sky in the morning, Shephard’s Warning.

Made a cuppa and did the Health Checks:

Sys 159, Dia 79, Pulse 89, Temp 34.9 and weight at 14.69. Couldn’t see any problems here.

Finished the weeks total sheet, to take with me tomorrow to the surgery. Again, apart from the weight, I could see nowt to worry about.

2Tue04

Took the medications then I got the computer on, looked up the weather forecast for the week and started to work on these diaries.

2Tue03

I was thinking of getting out today, but it is already starting to look like rain… if the forecast is right, I can get out and keep dry on Wednesday and Saturday? Hehe!

2Tue05

Checked the calendar: Tuesday; the INR Anticoagulation Blood Test at the surgery. Wednesday; Out for a meal with some other tenants in Arnold. Thursday; Out to vote in the elections then Anticoagulant-related nephropathy (A new one me, I must look that up in a bit) and Deep Vein Thrombosis tests at the QMC Hospital. So, a wet ‘Testing’ week for me? Hehehe!

Did some WordPress reading and commenting. Checked the Emails, then got on with the ablutionalisationing.

Got the ablutions done. Used new razors, lemon scented soap and had a good long session under the shower. Medicated the lesion and Haemorrhoid Harolds area then sprayed on the ‘Brute’ deodorant and got dressed.

The rain had started when I got out. Checking around to see what else apart from the fresh pod peas, I decided to get a large potato so I can bake it, empty it and mix dollops of the extra string cheese with the flesh, and put the mix back in the half-husks.

Took the bin bags to the chute and replaced the containers with new ones. Put some empty jars in the bag and set off down the lift.  Then back up to the apartment when I realised I had not got the hearing aids in. Huh!

Some tenants were waiting in the foyer for the bus. Chat a quick chinwag, then out to the recycling bin with the glass jars. To the bus stop, where, I was met with the others coming out. A quick verbal session where the gals put the world to rights.

1Mon02Caught the L9 bus into town. Had a go at the crossword book en route, did reasonably well too.

Dropped off and crossed over into the Victoria Shopping Centre (Mall), where for the first time

I saw a toddler getting into one of the Intu trolleys that were made to look like a kiddies car. The light was not good in there, but I managed to get this poor effort for a photo of the overjoyed youngster selecting his chosen vehicle.

1Mon03Walk to the other end and into the Tesco Metro Store.

To the bread section and got a loaf of their own-label sliced Sourdough Bread 75p.

Then to the Chinese part of the place, and got a bottle of Hoisin Sauce £1. Then some caramelised gravy granules £2.

To the fresh produce section and got a packet of fresh pod peas 750g for £1.50, a small pack of button mushrooms 90p, and on large baking potatoe 57p. I used the self-serve counter without too much confusion. (Head swags with pride)

1Mon04

When I got outside it was even windier and rainier (Rainier, is that a word?)

1Mon06Walk along to my least favourite road, Clumber Street.

Took this photographicalisation in the drizzle, the rain had suddenly steadied a bit.

There seemed far less folks on it this morning… er… afternoon now.

Hobbled along Milton street and onto Upper 1Mon08Parliament Street.

Not many folk about here either.

The drizzle and high winds persisted.

I love the way the woman behind the bloke in this picture appears to be peeping in my direction over this shoulder? Hehe!

1Mon09

Turned left and down King Street. I think was the best of shots I took today.

Down here, passing three Christian singers beling out songs in the rain, and into the slab square. Pretty bleak in the rain and getting even hight winds.

1Mon12

Limped up Queen Street and to the bus-stop, where a lady and gent fellow tenants of the Woodthorpe Court were waiting for the bus that was due in eight minutes, at five minutes passed the hour. We had a decent chinwag. The bus had not arrived at fifteen minutes passed (Should that me past?) the hour.

By 23 minutes beyond the hour, still no bus. So all three of us went down the hill to catch 40 bus home. I sat with the gal pensioner and we had a natter with Bert who sat behind us en route.

All dropped off on winchester Street Hill, and hobbled back to the complex.

Soon as I got in. I put the bag down and got the potato heating in the oven. Set the timer for one hour. Put the other bits away and got the computer on to update this page.

When the alarm went off, I checked the potato and it  was not ready, so turned it over and returned to doing this diary update.

1Mon17Took the spuds out of the oven and scooped out the flesh into a mixing bowl and added much strong cheese, a knob of butter, vinegar and a tiny bit of salt. Thought I did not need much as there would be flavouring in the cheese that included salt? Got the spuds back in their husks and into theoven for half an hour to brown them off and crisp the tops.

Three mini-cheese and pickle pork pies and a very rich tasty Pork and Mushroom pate!

Got the meal prepared, served and eaten with much relish and joy!

The cheesy potatoes came out almost perfect. I dined like a King! – Although, I don’t expect a King would have to burn so many fingers cooking his own meal and sit in a £300 second-hand recliner passing wind as he ate his nosh and then have to do the washing up? Hehehe!

Did the pot washing, minor Accifauxpa when I cut my finger end on the knife tip… again, right on ine of the spots close to where I burnt it taking the potatoes out of their husks earlier. Ah, well.

Nipped into the wetroom in hopes of encouraging some movement on the Porcelain Throne. No luck, but got ‘things’ stuck half in / half out so’s to speak. Damned painful and 1Mon17atook ages to complete the task. Medicated and cleaned things up and back in the kitchen.

The winds howling, the rain a-belting down in a torrent and my poor Copse suffering the brunt of it.

Bet I’ll see some damaged trees in the morning when I go to the surgery.

Sat down to watch some TV, with a warm satified glow in the tummy from ingesting the crispy topped cheesy potatoes, and felt good. An Alan Davis introduce programme came on, ‘The Dog Rescuers’ I think. They saved a grossly underweight bitch that was heavily pregnant with an anticipated nine pups in her. It was heartbreaking when the vets had to do a C-Cut procedure to extract the pups. Four didn’t make it, the other five did and found ‘Ever-homes’ shortly after. The bitch was fed, neutered, nursed, fed and returned to her owner?

I found tears in my eyes. Silly old softy!

TTFN folks.

Inchcock Today – Thursday 1st June 2017: Tenants Social Hour, then shopping, Graphicationalisationing. Oh, made time for a Whoopsiedangleplops later, as well. Hehe!

4Thur01

Thursday 1st June 2017

Serbian: Четвртак 1 јун 2017

Woke around 0420hrs, no demands for the use of the Porcelain Throne, despite the rumbling innards. And, no memories of the dreams I knew I’d been having.

Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and off to do the Health checks, take the medications and make a brew. Reading all seemed okay: Sys 159, Dia 80, Pulse 88, Temp 35.6, Weight 14.91, apart from the weight still high.

4Thur02Onto the computer to update the diaries.

Making a mug of tea for the one that had gone cold, I took this photograph of the distant City Hospital where I should be visiting this month for the op, just waiting for the confirmation.

Got yesterday’s diary finished off and started this one going.

Checked the Emails and got one from Sister Jane. This is part of her message:

Had a brilliant day at Cherry Tree Garden Centre in Bradmore.
Dorothy kept us fit “dashing” from one section to another – and says she’s 93 NOT 94!!
While we were having lunch, there was a private function going on with all kinds of animals to stroke and hold.  A meerkat, skunk, baby fox, shrew, micro-pig, tarantula, scorpion, and 2 snakes, one bright yellow and about 10ft long.  Most of the kids were loving it and some of the grown-ups too.
You’d have loved it.  Looked well cared for.

She sent these wonderful photographicalisations below:

4Thur06.jpg

She’s right, I would have loved it.

The stomach suddenly burst into pain, and in an urgent response, I made for the Porcelain Throne. Came on so quickly!

Not so bad as I thought it would be at all?

Went on the GPO site and extended the Mail Redirection instructions for letters bound for the old house to be moved to here. Of course, I forgot the PW. However, I got there in the end.

Did some more work on the TFZer latest series graphics.

Then got the ablutions tended to. A couple of nicks but no bad cuts with the shaving this morning.

Checked the Emails before setting out for the Tenants Social Hour and taking the empty jars to the recycling bin en route.

4Thur07They were painting double yellow lines on Chestnut Walk where the cabin is now in place.

Into the current Winwood Social Hut to find so few folks there this morning. But we all had a laugh anyway.

Noticed when coming out, that they were now painting yellow lines near the flats.

Up to the Porcelain Throne, got the bag and down to the bus stop.

Interesting listening to what I could hear of the tenants gossiping at the bus stop. It seems all our problems are due to immigrants and I think the builders are in for a few ear-fulls from some of the girls and gals. Hehe!

Caught the L9 and failed miserably with the crosswords on the trip into town.

4Thur03Dropped off near Wilko’s and went over the road to the Victoria Centre Shopping Centre (Mall) and the fruit & veg stall. They had some fresh pod peas in, I recalled being conned last time I got some peas from there – but thought if Tesco does not have any I’ll have to walk all the way back here again to get some. There was a different lady serving. So I risked it and bought some. Turned out okay, she did not slip the older ones in the bag.

Wandered around the market for a while and then to the other end of the Mall and down a floor to the Tesco store, They had pod peas, so I got some more! (Note the poetry there? Haha!). Also got some flatbread on offer. Just managed to squeeze them into the freezer when I got home.

4Thur04Out of the centre and hobbled along towards the town centre to call at Primark to look for some long sleeve T-shirts.

Passed this sign while walking along Milton Street.

I took a photo of it, I was rather tempted, as I rate and like Chris Rock and his style.

Saw there were no details of where he was appearing? Oddly, tickets were only available online? Checked later on the web, and got all sorts of warnings about this site via the Virus Checker and Warnings?

I walked up and through Trinity Square. Saw these ornaments or whatever they are called in the jewellery 4Thur05shop window.

Took the picture to put on the TFZers site and ask their opinion of them.

Pressed on and down Trinity Walk with its five nadies nail shops and three barber shops.

One of them proudly displaying tht Men’s Haircuts from only £12.

Glad I have no hair when I read that!

4Thur06Walked down into the Slab Square.

The Big Issue sellers were in pairs today. Most likely one of the poor souls being trained by the other?

Pavement Cyclists all over the place.

Made my way to the Primark Store on Long Row, an up to the gents clothing section.

They had done a makeover of the displays, and definitly gone for the younger persons sales.

4Thur07After a long hobble around I found nothing of any interest to me.

Exited the store and in front of me was an interesting view, I thought. The highly expensive Pizza take-away had its usual rush on… Hehehe!

The old folk were making use of the pigeon dropping covered uncomfortable metal seats.

The balloon seller seemed to be attracting some interest form the passers by; Or maybe it was the lady with thehsort dress on? Hehe!

4Thur08To Queen Street and up to where the outdoor seating was for one of the many restuartants on there to take this photographicalisation with the Council House dome in the background.

Caught the bus back to the flats. Had another go at the crossword book, with dismal results yet again.

When I got back, the double yellow lines had been added to various more locations, but where the ycould not get to paint them due to the parked vehicles, they had added cones?

4Thur09Took the medications and did the Health Checks, then got on with making the meal.

I’d cooked some of the pod peas, had some cold potatoes left over from yesterday, tomatoes and did some of the red extra strong grated cheddar cheese in the oven at the same time as the haddock in batter. Pressed it flat in the oven dish and sprayed the top with oil. Pleased with how it came out, nice and crispy.

A lemon mousse and bit of brown bread and it was a delightfully tasty repast.

05Thu12After consuming it, I took the things to the kitchen to clean them up and…

Whoopsidangleplop!

I’d left the kitchen sink tap running with some cleaning clothes in it!

Well fancy that, I didn’t say to myself!

Good job the cold tap was only trickling.

Mop and bucket to the rescue. Getting the disinfectant from under the sink to use and what a mess there was inside. Down on the knees job and took every thing out, wiped it and replaced the cleaning things – this I found was surprisingly easy to do – getting up again afterwards was not! Hehehe!

Another good thing was that I had plenty of kitchen rolls in stock – I haven’t now, mind.

Went down to the Obergruppenfhureresses Hut to report what had happened just in case any water had filtered through to the flat below.

4Thur11Julie checked and all was fine. Phew!

On the way back to the flat, I spotted some local Nottingham Street Art. I’m not certain, but I think I saw a similar piece of artwork in exactly the same place last year?

The birds and animals were not showing any interest in it.

Back up to the apartment and got washed and settled in the £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV.

Tired as I felt, no nod-offs at all tonight? After a few hours after enjoying Star Trek, Heart Beat and starting to watch Hetty Wainthrope, I drifted off and did not wake until 0400hrs!

TTFN.

Inchcock – Thursday 18th May 2017: Computer Google Chrome Problems, Accifauxpa and

4Thur01

Thursday 18th May 2017

Italian: Giovedi 18 Maggio 2017

0200hrs Woke and off for a wee-wee. Got back down again and slept until 0306hrs.

Dream

First thing, I took the medications, had another wee-wee and heavy duty session on the Throne, messy gooey.

Then got on with trying to uninstall and reload Google Chrome to get rid of the freezing. Searched for advice first, but I could only get at far as Programs, clicked Chrome in the box and the computer telling me to ‘Select all Google Chrome Items’ – there were no more to pick or choose? Fed-up with this, I’ll see if I can get some help or anyone knows of someone who can come to the flat to have a look at and give me a hand, I’ll ask at the Windwood Social Hour, not very hopeful though. Grr!

Very frustrating having to wait for hours for it to reset itself when it does, it doesn’t frequently, reset reboot reload, turn off and reboot all the time, and every time I try to go on Facebook or YouTube. I’ll have to stay off for until I can get someone to pay to this sorted out… if I can?

Losing heart here.

Back to the Porcelain Throne again, no pebble-dash but gooey and sticky now! Going through the toilet paper at a fast rate of knots. Tsk! Haemorrhoid Harold was bleeding badly this morning.

Tried doing this update and finishing yesterday’s diary, which took hours due to my being too nervous to do it when I got back from the trip out Wednesday and being convinced I could sort out the Chrome uninstall and reinstall procedure today. Foolish me!

I wish I’d taken a photo from the kitchen window earlier now. This morning when I got up was crystal clear, look at it now?

This morning when I got up, it was crystal clear, look at it now?

I realised I’d not put the map of yesterday’s marathon hobble in the diary.

4Thur03So, here it is.

Just to show off and pretend I’m as fit as a fiddle.

The feet ain’t half stinging now, but I’ve only got myself to blame. Although I did enjoy the visit to the park and ducks and was well pleased with the results from Mr Redmain… or, was it Redman?

Although I did enjoy the visit to the park and ducks and was well satisfied with the results from Mr Redmain… or, was it Redman?

I’d like to make a note of my appreciation of the Pensioners Free Bus Pass too.

I reckon without this, yesterday’s bus trips would have cost me around the figure of £12-£15 in total!

By heck… the stomach and innards have just started off grinding and bubbling away again now. Tsk!

I did some WordPr4Thur04ess reading for a while.

Still unable to get on and use Facebook without Chrome problems.

Tsk!

The view from the kitchen window, when I made another mug of tea has changed again. A lot clearer once more? I got the last of the pod peas, some small potatoes and beef in the Crock-Pot cooking.

Took the rubbish bags to the chute. Then got the ablutions tended to and deodorised me up nicely. Made sure the raffle prizes and nibbles were in the bag.

Set off to the Tenants Social Hour.

A good session and one lady suggested I go to the phone shop in the Victoria Centre and ask ‘The Geeks’ for help with the computer problem. If I sign to pay the something monthly, they will always be on hand to help. That lady had signed with them. So, I decided to go into town afterwards and have a word with them, might try to get some pod peas at the same time.

4Thur05BJ was there, and a few laughs were had.

At the bus stop the weather looked marvellous to me, the trees so beautiful.

Another good listen best I could to the chinwagging.

As the bus went along Porchester Road, I took this photographicalisation of the sky towards the City Centre.

4Thur06

I could see a face in the clouds. When I got back, I made up the above graphic of it. I just wondered if anyone else can see it?

Dropped off the bus at the usual place near the Victoria Centre and hobbled in and through to the Phone Warehouse shop and to the back counter where the ‘Geek Squad’ sign indicated they would be located.

4Thur08

4Thur09

The chap with the blonde hair informed me the Geeks are only there for three hours a week on Saturday mornings! Deflated about that.

Poddled to the Tesco store, but they didn’t have any fresh pod peas in stock again! Bought some SourDough Bread, though.

So I went to the Fruit and Veg market and got some peas up there.

Out of the mall and into the Wilko Store. Got some disinfectant, foil and deodorant.

4Thur10

4Thur11Had a walk up Clinton Street window shopping.

But it was little, well, a lot more hectic than yesterday, so I gave up and got out soon as I could back onto Upper Parliament Street, and went to the bus-top, just avoiding a Burk on a bike Nottingham Pavement Cyclist.

Caught the L9 bus back to the flat complex.

4Thur07As the bus turned right, off of Porchester Street and down a narrow part of the route, I tried to get a photograph of the steep hill. But didn’t make too good a job of it cause a van turned in at the same time in front of the bus.

Battling falling asleep again now. I actually did nod off a few times, but luckily as the bus turned into Chestnut Walk, I stirred.

A quick chinwag with some residents at the bus stop and up with a little concern that I might not make it in time, to the flat and the Porcelain Throne.

Then, I moved the fodder into a saucepan to warm through and washed the slow cooker. The computer and Google are still letting me down. Will not let me work on Facebook again.

05Thu12I got the meal, a stew of sorts served up.

Podded peas, turnip, small potatoes, made a nice caramelised gravy to go with it and added some beef gravy and a tin of stewed steak to it.

Slices of Sourdough bread to soak up the nice rich gravy and a Lemon Fool to follow with this fool enjoying it a lot. 9.4/10 rating.

Got a phone call from Obergruppenfurheress Jenny, she had kindly arranged for a friend to call and have a look at my Google Chrome problems. Later when I was asleep and in the land of nod, the door chime burst forth and a note had been posted through the letterbox for me from Jenny. She told me a chap called Sam would be visiting me tomorrow night sometime after 1800hrs. That was so kind of her to help out.

Having woken up, I decided to make a mug of tea… Accifauxpa Time! Dropped the milk and cleaned it up.

Watched some TV for ages, no nod-offs in between. But the worries over the Chrome issue kept overtaking other thoughts.

TTFN each.

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 17th May 2017: Soaking wet in the rain, shopped, visited the ducks and saw the surgeon in Derby. Shattered, when I got back! Hehe!

2Tuesday001

Wednesday 17th May 2017

Irish: Dé Céadaoin 17ú Bealtaine 2017

Bad night of waking in between dreams. War, well, in a battle in a City, schoolday bullying relived, failings and errors recalled, space travel, ghosts and being buried alive being some of the subjects. I’m certain there were so much more, not nice at all. I lay there thinking through and trying to remember more for ages.

When a demand came for the Porcelain Throne visit at 0310hrs, I got out of the £300 second-hand recliner, shivering despite having a bit of sweat on and off to the morning session. Took a while for a different reason to recently, the opposite of the Trots! The tummy rumbled much after the movement. Carried out the Health Checks, all seemed okay apart from the pulse being a tad high, the weight was down again!

3Wed10

Made a br3Wed01ew and took the medications. Making sure I did not mistakenly take any of the Diahorria capsules, now they are not needed. In fact, I moved them into another drawer so as not to do a Whoppsiedangleplop later in the week.

Saw a note I’d left myself when it came to starting the computer: ‘Bank Numbers Required’. I must nip down later and give them to them. I had a check on the local weather for today on the BBC website.

4Thur08

Looked like a wet day in prospect! Glad I got the umbrella yesterday in town now.

3Wed03The rain started again as I left the flats and decided to walk into Arnold, visit the ducks and pigeons and to get some pod peas.

I took the first photograph of the marathon hobble to Arnold at the end of Chestnut Walk. With the allotments below and housing in the distance and beautiful Spring greenery surrounding them. The smell was gorgeous.

Down Winchester Street hill and over the road and into the bank. Had to explain everything again to the teller lady, who was patient enough about it. Told her I was asked to bring in my NI number, but could not remember if I had or not, but here it is again anyway. She had no idea what I was talking about. Told me to pin in my card and dedicatedly perused her computer for a while, a frown spreading over her pretty brow. Said to me I had to make an appointment with the advisor to process the opening of the account. I told her the account was open, and I have a letter to that effect from the bank? Anyway, I’m going to see a surgeon in a while and might know more of when I’ll be free, and I’ll get back in touch (Call again) when I can confidently give you a date.

3Wed04Out into the drizzle, up to the top of Mansfield Road Sherwood and off down the hill towards Arno Hill Park and the duck visit.

About a mile further on and I got out the Pound Shop umbrella as the rain increased and it broke as I was opening it.

With my luck, I took this with a pinch of salt, in fact, I expected this to happen.

3Wed05Plodded onward in the wet onto Daybrook, the rain getting fiercer now.

The puddle in the car park had to be manoeuvred ti keep the tootsies and shoes dry, gave it a wide berth.

Nearly walked in front of a bus as I crossed over the traffic light junction – I indicated my apologise to the driver as he braked. I think he was questioning my parentage and possibly calling me a silly old fart or something similar. Oh dear!

Got to the park eventually and not many folks around, but there were some new breeds of ducks around. The ducks with the black coloured heads and brown and grey feathered bodies. They were very aggressive towards all the other birds there, they even chased off and bit the Canadian Geese!

3Wed07

The rain eased off a bit, and I spent a good while with them, nattering away to them. Like one does. Ahem!

Then out and along the road and over into the Sainsbury store. Where I found they did not have any pod peas available – Humph! I got some potato farls and cakes, Lemon mousse, a Lamb hotpot and two tiny turnips.

Outside the rain was now horrendous! I got the half openable brolly out and made for the bus stop across the road. I thought I was being rather clever by catching a bus that goes a long way around to town route but drops me off closer to the next bus stop where I can catch the Derby bus and save getting soaked so much? Cunning!

3Wed08Dropped off on King Street and down and through the Slab Square and up Friar Lane to the bus stop.

An i4 bus arrived shortly, and I was off on a ride through the villages route, into Derby.

I gave the crossword book a bashing, and even got one completely done with only having to look-up one answer! (Head swaggers slightly)

Despite the weather, I enjoyed the run-out, apart from one bloke shouting down his phone all the time. Eventually, he started using bad language, the F word crept into his conversation, and I just had to say something but resisted several times until I could no longer do so. I walked forward and tapped him on the shoulder and asked him quietly: “Could you please stop using bad language on your phone, there are elderly ladies on this bus?” I was so pleased with his reaction. He really didn’t know he was shouting put aloud. He apologised to the ladies, and I think he blushed. That result was far better than him telling to Go Forth and Multiply and head-butting me! Phew!

He got off the bus later and put his hand up in acknowledgement as he dismounted the bus. Jolly good chap.

Got into Derby bus station, the rain now wet again. Hehe! I wondered over into the Eagle Market.

3Wed09

What a sad place nowadays. Far more empty stalls than those in use.

Out and up to the London Road GUM clinic. Gave them the paperwork and in minutes they called me in to see Mr Redgrave, the surgeon who will be doing me in Nottingham later. Nice understanding Gentleman. About 60 years-of-age, a well-trimmed beard and patient with his patient. I could smell the pipe tobacco on his breath, and this got me missing mine. Hehe! Went to great lengths in advising me exactly what was to be done with Little Inchy’s problem. To be done under a local and he anticipated my being in and out in a day. He even explained any problems and how to deal with them following the procedure. I should hear within a week of a date, but I’m still on the Cancellation List and need to have everything ready at short notice. Gave me some leaflets. I thanked him so much, we both had a cup of tea brought in by a smiling nubile young lady. And, it was a nice strong cup of tea too!

Happy and contented I made my way back to the bus station in the rain, almost singing to myself and uncaring about getting soaked in the rain.

3Wed08aI got on another bus route to go back into Nottingham, the Y8 it was I think. As the bus went through Sandiacre, we passed a place that I had worked at in Security many years ago.

It used to be a Calor-gas supplier, now it had been cleared demolished and must have held hundreds of vehicles. This got the memory going.

3Wed10Had a bash at the Crosswords again, but not so successfully this time.

Arrived in Nottingham and dropped off on Maid Marion Way in the drizzle and walked down St James’s Street into the Slab Square.

I’ve not been down here for some years, there had been many changes with new buildings.

3Wed11Across the square as the rain got heavier again.

The Burke on the bike in this photograph all but hit the woman with white hair moments after I took this picture.

Tsk!

Up Queen Street and to the bus stop, turned out good timing as the last L9 bus was due in five minutes.

Tired and weary now, but happy with how the day had gone and the good news and information from Mr Redgate. Why he was a Mr and not Doctor I don’t know. But, then again, there is much I do not know. I had to fight falling asleep on the bus with all my might, but managed to, just.

Up to the flat and into the Throne Room.

Too weary to concentrate on doing any updating, so did this in the morning.

3Wed12Felt a bit more like eating tonight. Used a portioned plate and had, farls and potato cakes, Quorn eggs, sage & onion slices, pickled onions, strong cheddar, fresh pod peas, mushrooms, Mushroom Pate, an apple, one thin wholemeal and a Lemon Fool, with caramelised onion pickle.

Looked good, tasted good, but the eyes were obviously larger than the stomach again. I left a lot on the plate.

Did the Health Checks and took the medications. The Pulse was tremendously high at 94.

Got the goggle-box going. Swiftly fell asleep.

Dreamt something about V-rocket making, with me as a designer and demanding that garlic is added to the explosives? But it seemed I and the others were of French origin?

Woke and off to the Porcelain Throne, and spent an inordinately long time, struggled to evacuate, messy. A follow up to the ‘Trots’ I’ve just got rid of?

Had a glass of spring water and got the head down again, without any problem.

Inchcock Today – Tuesday 16th May 2017

2Tue001a

Tuesday 16th May 2017

Indonesian: Selasa 16 Mei 2017

Kept waking all through the night, thinking of dreams and telling myself to remember and record them, even made some notes, but they were totally ineligible when I did wake properly at 0355hrs. Tsk! Not the foggiest memory!

0400hrs: Out of the fragile struggling to operate £300 second-hand recliner and off to the Porcelain Throne. The spattering did not come, (Hurrah!) but things were ‘Gooey’ and Haemorrhoid Harold’s blood added to the mess! Arthur Itis, Duodenal Donald and Roger Reflux were all in a  good mood, only Anne Gyna giving any real torment. Good start I thought!

2Tue03Into the kitchen and took this photographicalisation.

Titivated around a bit and tried to move things in the freezer drawers to make room for some fodder that I hope will be arriving later via the Morrison delivery.

Kettle on and started the Health Checks and weighing session.

2Tue04

Again, I thought things were looking good. (I began to fret a little at this stage; Things looking good and me, don’t go together? Hehe!)

Made a mug of good strong Thompson’s tea and took the medications.Back to the Porcelain Throne, but only wind escaped. Things are a changing in this department today for sure.

Back to the Porcelain Throne, but only wind escaped. Things are a changing in this department today for sure.

2Tue05Checked on the coat that got so wet yesterday, and I’d hung above the towel dryer. Still not fully dried, so I moved the jacket along to near the storage heater and turned it on, and moved the airer along underneath the coat.

On with the computer, fingers crossed in the vain hopes that Google Chrome would have cleared itself of problems. Come think of this, there were no problems with Google before I had some Windows Updates?

No problems as yet, knock on wood.

Made a start on this diary, then finished off yesterday’s one and got it posted.

Did some WordPress reading.

Got the ablutions tended to before the arrival of the fodder. Got all the things needed, into the wetroom, cleaned the teggies and started to shave, and the intercom phone rang – it was the Morrison Man. For some reason, I thought it was due twixt 0800 > 0900hrs, but it was due 0700 > 0800hrs. Did feel a fool again!

Got the fodder put away, only just enough room in the freezer.

Back and finished the ablutions. All nice and fresh smelling now. Hehe!

Sorted some bin bags and took them to the chute. Got the nibbles ready for the flat’s Obergruppenfurheress’s to drop off at the hut on the way out.

Must remember to call at the bank with the details they are wanting. (I didn’t, I forgot about it – Fancy that?)

Updated this bit of the diary.

Off out and called at the NCH Community Shed with the nibbles. Obergruppenfurher Julie was in on her own. The big room had the ‘Pick Your Colour Scheme’ crew of five in there to greet the residents. Tenant Roy arrived, and I chose the Green Brown Scheme6Sat01a as my choice for the outside of the newly updated buildings.

Only because I felt obligated to show interest. There was a very-little real concern there over which one was opted for.

Roy chose the same colour scheme.

Back to the foyer to await the bus into town. Roy arrived and asked me my flat number and name, as the Nottingham City Homes team had forgotten to inquire this of me. He kindly took the details back to them. A chinwag with the other tenants at the bus stop and on the bus en route was enjoyed.

Glad to hear the Bill thought the keyboard letter pads I got from Amazon for him, were wonderful and he had them all on his laptop and enjoying them.

Arrived in town as the drizzle started and meant to nip into the Pound Shop to look for some Furniture Cover a lady tenant told me about earlier and to get an umbrella – found myself in the Wilko Store, felt a fool and exited and made my way next door to the Pound Shop. Huh!

Had a good nosey around and ended up getting: A packet of Bic razors, Memory Foam Insoles and Alpen bars for raffle prizes, Flash eraser, Foil oven trays, two Guaranteed to blow inside out on the first use umbrellas, and a Men’s manicure set. Having purchased more expensive brollies last time and they did the same thing… well one did, the other disappeared like magic. I took the gamble on getting these cheap ones. No one on the tills so had to use the self-serve system. Farcical that was. I’m not sure I didn’t end up overcharging myself? The obnoxious assistant wasn’t really interested, poor bloke looked right pissed-off to me. And this in the morning with him having the rest of the day to get through, yet!

3Wed05

Out and over Upper Parliament Street and into the Victoria Shopping Centre (Mall).

Very sparse of human occupation it was this morning.

Another takeaway food unit had closed down I noticed. There’s going to be financial trouble over this situation of so many retail bankruptcies going on so much!

Hobbled without too much effort nor pain, to the other end and into Tesco and had a wander around. A box of two Fresh Cream Horns leapt into the shopping basket of their own accord. I got the last pack of pod peas, another Quorn Lasagne on offer at £2 down from £3 (I wish I’d got more now, cause they were wonderfully filling and tasty last time I got them). A packet of small potatoes, a TV magazine for next week and some Boczek belly pork.

I pondered over getting some Sourdough Farmhouse bread but remembered the freezer was chock-a-block at the moment. Wandered off, thought some more, then returned to the bakery section, after having made up my mind to get the Sourdough after all, cause I haven’t had any for ages. After I’d managed to reach up to the top shelf where they kept this bread and got a loaf, it only had one day’s life on it. I eventually managed to check each of the nine or so loaves and they were all the same. So, now in pain in the legs from stretching up a3Wed07nd stomach now aching too, I muttered to me what an idiot I am, and wandered to the checkout.

Paid the gal and out around the block and to the bus stop on Upper Parliament Street. The feet were beginning to sting a bit now.

The place had got very busy from when I arrived in town.

3Wed08The queue at the shelter was massive and cramped, the folks looked down and depressed, and I passed the wind without anyone noticing. So glad the ‘Trots’ have almost gone now!

Very glad!

I wanted to take a photo of the crowds with their depressed hang-dog expressions… but by the time I dug the camera out of the bottom of the full bag, one bus had been loaded and off, and a second one had gathered most of the other passengers.  In the distance, the green single decker electric powered L9 bus can be seen arriving. When it did, the other passengers got to the doors; first. I was shoulder charged, poked with what I think was an umbrella and had my poorly toe trod on!

The spirits lowered as I sat there, not even interested in doing the crosswords and feeling a bit sorry for myself, but not knowing why?

3Wed04A few miles on, and as the bus turned left onto Porchester Road, I had the camera ready in the hopes of getting a distance shot of the sky and scenery.

As I got ready to take the shot, a mobility scooter was driving on the road, and believe me there is one heck of a hill down there! At one point it is 1/6!

Anyway, the flipping car pulled out, and it hid the scooter from view! Tsk!

Back at the flat, and onto the Throne. A mixed session.

As I had a quick freshen up and cleansing session, I bent down to get the bleach to use on the porcelain and ‘Clunk!’ Accifauxpa, come  Whoopsiedangleplop time! Cracked the head a good one on the sink.

This put an end to my plans for doing owt on the computer, indeed doing much at all. Boy, was it a good cloutFelt a bit groggy-dizzy for hours afterwards.

Put the fodder away, leaving a brolly in the bag.

Sat down for a few hours or so, tried reading the ‘Emotions’ book but no concentration felt dodgy. Dosed off.

Later when I woke, only a bit of a headache was there, I felt fairly good really?

Took the medications, did the Health Checks and got the fodder prepared.

3Wed09Went to turn off the heater in the hallway and the INR Anticoagulation results had been delivered. Shot up to 4.6 this time.

I wondered if I’d perhaps taken two evening doses during one night during the last week, to have caused this and not noticed?

I added the Next Test Date to the Google Calendar. Google Chrome kept becoming Unresponsive so I gave up.

3Wed08aUsed the segregation plate for the meal.

BBQ smoked mackerel, Surimi, egg, potatoes, potato farls, onions, cheddar, apple, beetroot and fresh pod peas and caramelised chutney.

I dished up too much and didn’t eat a lot of it. Ate just one of the potatoes, left some of the farls and a half of the egg.

The rain poured down outside, so I closed the kitchen window.

Felt so tired now. Tried to watch a DVD, then tried the TV, then the book again… which is when I drifted off into a dream filled horror of a sleep.

Hey-ho! TTFN.

Inchcock – Friday 28th April 2017: Another busy day… and Whoopsiedangleplop, a potato escaped from the plate – Never to be seen again?

Victorian Humour?

Friday 28th April 2017

Khmer (Cambodia): កាលពីថ្ងៃសុក្រទី 28 ខែមេសាឆ្នាំ 2017

Falling asleep so early last night (Mind you, I needed it), I woke around 0100hrs and drifted in and out of slumber repeatedly until 0345hrs. When a demand from the rumbling innards for me to make use of the Porcelain Throne arrived, the £300 second-hand recliner shudderingly let me out to get to the wetroom. Whoopsiedangleplop! Found I’d left the convector wall heater blasting away again!

I found that Duodenal Donald was easier this morning, Anne Gyna a bit of a hassle, Arthur Itis was being so kind to me, Roger Reflux rumbling silently and no Dennis Dizzies at all. Haemorrhoid Harold had and was bleeding plenteously internally. Cleaned up and donned a pair of the protection pants.

At one point I wondered if I was becoming algophilic. Thought about it, started the computer and looked up algophilic. How did I know this word?

Kettle on and did the Health Checks. Looking good I thought?

5Fri02

Made a mug of tea and took the medications and got this days graphic done and started it up to here. Then finished yesterday’s off and posted it.

I did some WordPress reading then updated this post.

Decided I wanted to go to town today, to the fruit & veg market and try to get some pod peas and take some photographicalisations for the TFZers and this post.

Came across and watched a short documentary about Madeleine McCann.

A quick bash on Facebooking and on to getting the ablutions done. Hurridly got the bin bags into the chute and was all ready and set off out.

Nice chinwag with some other tenants while we waited for the bus. Did some cross wording en route.

5Fri09Dropped off the bus and made my way into the Victoria Shopping Centre (Mall).

Up to the market and invested in a few Egyptian pod peas.

Wandered around and got a pair of trousers as well.

Along and down into the HMV shops for a nosey around, I didn’t buy anything, though.

Called in Tesco and got

5Fri10Out onto Mansfield Road, noticing that the American Diner that had occupied several units had now closed down.

They had put up posters for some of the other food outlets in the empty windows.

Last week there were about 90 chairs and tables in this space.

Rather sad.

5Fri11Crossed over at the end of Milton Street, into Clumber Street.N

Not so many people about as usual for a Friday I thought.

I meandered down to the rear of the Council House and looked in the windows of the tobacconists, Gauntley’s.

I still miss my pipe and baccy, even after all these years.

5Fri12Sad innit?a V

I moved around the end of the road and took this photographicalisation of the ‘Little John’ bell-dome.

Apparently, it is the deepest-toned bell in the country.

Nottingham is famous for its local hero Robin Hood whose favourite Lieutenant was called Little John 5Fri12bin deference to his large stature.  It is with this connection that the bell was named ‘Little John’.  It is hung in the great dome of the Council House in Market Square in the centre of the city and weighs 10 and a half tonnes. Within this dome is also a clock which was made in 1926 by William Cope the nephew of the founders of G. & F. Cope. (clockmakers of Nottingham). He managed to combine the movement of this 5Fri12iclock to the striking of the bell from which time it has chimed on time constantly and is considered the largest most accurate electric chiming clock in the world.

Just thought I’d mention it like.

Had a limping stroll around the side streets nearby, spotting a few more closed down retail outlets on many of them.

5Fri12aThere were many buildings designed by Nottingham architect Watson Fothergill still going strong.B

I have a liking for his work and style.B

He was Christened Fothergill Watson, but he decided to change the names around to Fothergill Watson in later life.

5Fri12cThe feet were soon giving me some jip, but Duodenal Donald had eased off a lot. The extra Omeprazole and Codeine seems to have worked?

As I turned right down St Peter’s Gate at the end of Bridlesmith Gate and came across this chap trading in an old telephone box as a coffee shop.

I’ve seen this sort of thing on the 5Fri12dTV, but this is the first time I’ve come across it in real life. Amazing!

Further down the hill, there were several of Watson’s designed buildings again.

Brilliantly artistic or what?

I called into Marks & Sparks at the bottom, went into the food hall for a look see.

5Fri12eAgain, I didn’t buy anything, just nosed around.

Came out and donated to a Big Issue seller and along up through Exchange walk to the Slab Square.

You can see another one of Watson’s wonderful designs in the centre back of this photographicalisation. It was called originally, ‘Prudential House’ and the insurance 5Fri12fcompany owned it all to start with. I wonder if they are still going or have they been sold off?

I took this one of the well-wrapped-up Nottingham citizenry and the two trams on South Parade platforms, as I hobbled over the road.

Bit nippy this midday now.

Walked over the square, avoiding 5Fri12ha pavement cyclist who nearly had me over.

Tsk!

At the bottom of Queen Street King Street junction, I took the picture. The old Prudential House building on the left side. Those of Fothergill’s on the right have had some units modernised between his designed ones – looks terrible doesn’t it, all that glass between 5Fri12gthe beauty of his brickwork style buildings?

I turned while on King Street and took a photo of the Council House, and Little John’s dome showing the clock and flag.

Then I decided as the bus was not due for ages yet, I’d pop into the Primark Store to see if they had any long sleeve tea-shirts in stock. They hadn’t, but I had a wander around anyway. And yet once again… bought nothing!

Caught the L9 bus back home. Tired feet aching and stinging chronically.

5Fri12j.jpgPicked up the four letters received at the door on entry, had a wee-wee, got the kettle on, and decided to mop the kitchen floor, cause it looked a bit grotty.

Managed to catch Arthur Itis’s attack on my fingers as I took the photographicalisation when it was cleaned and done.

Noticed the letters that I’d forgotten about, so perused them.

Nottingham City Homes, British Gas and Severn Trent all confirming the new bank details for the Direct Debit. The GUM Clinic confirming my being on the procedure list and the need to continue with the check visits.

5Fri12kGot on with updating this article.

Readied the meal, while cleaning the apple divider, I learnt something that I think it prudent that I should pass on to others.

The blades are so easy to cut oneself on when drying the contraption.

End of message. Hehe!

5Fri12LDid some Facebooking.

Got a phone call, it was from the bank manageress who was not available yesterday, a Courtesy call she said. She wanted to see me Like I wanted to see her yesterday… Come on Inchy, no snide remarks, please!

She suggested next Tuesday, I asked what time, she said around 0400hrs, I said that is no good too late for me – We made arrangements for me to visit her next Friday at 1030hrs. She wants to talk over options, Direct Debits etc, and a possible investment account opening. I could smell the money signs in her eyes… No, no! Come on Inchy, no snide remarks, please!

Served up the fodder on a tray on my knees and watched some DVD.

During the process of dining, I got the dizzies and shakes for a few seconds and one potato freed itself from the fork prongs and escaped; disappearing down onto the floor via my chest, tummy, and legs. After a messy getting out of the £300 second-hand recliner, searching, removing the chair cover, moving the chair, combing the immediate area, I even got down (Which was far easier than getting back up again, Hehe!) and shone the torch underneath the £300 second-hand recliner. But all my efforts to find and retrieve the escapee tuber were fruitless!

Once again, the planned watching of the Jonathan Creek episodes proved difficult as the nodding off and waking up, the rewinding then starting the link all over again got me annoyed with myself, and I soon gave up and drifted off into sleep within seconds I think.

Inchcock – Thursday 27 April 2017: Busiest Day of the Year!

4Thur01.jpg

Thursday 27 April 2017

Arabic: الخميس 27 أبريل 2017

0300hrs: Woke, reluctantly, tried to get back to sleep, knew I’d been dreaming, but again, no memories of them. I hate that. Hehe! Gave up trying to nod off again when the urge to visit the porcelain throne appeared.

Flipping cold this morning.

Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and nearly went over as Dizzy Dennis caught me unawares as I dismounted. Onto the throne and Duodenal Donald kicked in and the stomach rumbling began. Thought about how I enjoyed yesterday’s Fish and Chip meal and how foolish I was to have gone for it.

Carried out the Health Checks and printed the last few day off so as to show the doctor later on.

4Thur02

All those 163 to 174 Sys readings and then it goes down to 155 on the day I go to see the Doctor? Humph! The weight down a bit again too, mind you, I got onto the scales after the Porcelain Throne session.

Took the medication4Thur03s.

I threw back the curtains as it began to get lighter, and realised why it was so nippy, I’d left the window open!

Humph!

Did some WordPress reading done, made a mug of strong tea… during which I had to make a rather hasty a trip back to the porcelain… just in time! Great! The runs, on a day I’ve got to go to the surgery, chemist, back for the Social Hour, back out to the bank, then the clinic!

4Thur04Back to put the above photograph on here, and noticed some smoke in it, left of the right curtain.

Got a close-up of it from the kitchen window.

No emergency lights were showing. Looked like it was on the housing estate?

Got the paperwork for the day’s needs, Surgery, Bank and Clinic into a folder, put the raffle prizes and nibbles in the bag for the Social Hour and staff. Realised I had not booked an appointment with the Doctor’s Nurse for the Tuesday INR Blood Test… Huh! I’ll have to go to the City Hospital for it then. Far too late to get an appointment for Tuesday now. Hey-ho!

Made some reminder notes to take with me to avoid forgetting to mention something to the Doctor.

Updated this twollop.

Ablutions tended to.

Remembered to gather the things for the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop to take them with me – plan to walk up through the park, up over the hill and to the surgery.

Set out and went the wrong way, half way along Chestnut Walk, I stopped and walked back in the opposite direction, so as to go to the Nottingham Hospice shop – stopped again when I realised I’d put their stuff in the wrong bag, and went back in the original direction. I’ll bet someone was watching and thinking; Look at that fool, what’s he up to now? Hehe!

4Thur05Plenty of time to spare so I took a nice steady hobble down the hill.

Damn it, I had not got the hearing aids in!

A bit of an obstacle course on the pavement with the bins lined up for collection, but still.

Anne Gyna now amalgamated with Duodenal Dennis, and this was most annoying and persistent. Hey-ho!

4Thur06Left and up the hill on Mansfield Road and over the crest… or should that be apex or maybe the crown of the road?

The traffic was building up here in Carrington as I had to stop a few moments to let Anne Gyna calm down.

Even Roger Reflux had a go at me then.

Tsk! Not feeling well at all, yet oddly not poorly.

Does that make sense to you?

4Thur07Further down the hill as I approached the surgery, a sudden uplifting insanity came over me… no not insanity, erm, jollity!

I found Dennis had eased off quickly and I was singing to myself?

Well, maybe insanity after all. Hehe!

I got into the Surgery and consulted my list of things to remember and asked the receptionist if I had booked in for Monday or Tuesday for an INR Blood Test, she confirmed that I had, for 1020hrs. I thanked her, took my seat and got out the crossword book. Noticing as I did, some new posters on the board. It seems the senior Doctor is retiring and Dr Vinla is currently interviewing for a replacement. I thought she was off ill? Big decisions to make for her.

A locum for Dr Vinla was on duty today.

I was told to go in and the Doctor, a far Eastern Gentleman was very cross with me for forgetting the hearing aids, and when I had to ask for confirmation or misheard him, it made him angrier still. Oh dear! Got it wrong again didn’t I? But he was straight to the point. Well, in all but when I asked about and explained the depression and anxiety symptoms, which he told me we all have, and told me to leave it until Dr Vindla returned and warned me that referrals take months sometimes.

Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna’s hassle I mentioned. He said to double up with the Omeprazole for a few days until things calm down. I pointed out that perhaps the stocks might run low, and he said if the do ask for some more later.

4Thur10I requested some extra Codeine Phosphates and was pleased when after he’d read my statistics on the computer, he agreed to do so, because of the Morphgesic SR 30 mg Tablets being stopped in readiness for the graft operation and it should be safe to take some extra 30g Codeines, in place of them. So glad he agreed to this, bless him.

I thanked him, left his office and gave the staff some nibbles in a bag and walked (Very painfully now the feet had started singing) down the road into Carrington and the Chemist shop.

4Thur11Deepak, the chemist and owner, asked me to have a talk with him while I waited for the prescription to be filled.

I mentioned how I was feeling depressed and why. Somehow it was easier to speak with him. A really nice chap, Deepak is.

The chinwag only took a few minutes, and I collected the medications and was off hobbling to the Lidl store.

4Thur08I got only three things today, A bag of small potatoes, a small packet of Sugar-Peas and two small cheese cobs.

I paid on the serve yourself till and got rid of all my small change.

Hehehe! I later regretted this.

Out to the bus stop, (Weary legs and feet now) and got lifted up into Sherwood. Where I dropped off and called at the bank as instructed by the bank manageress last week, to talk to her about the direct debits and how I wanted things handling.

I explained all this to the lady serving, put my card and number into the machine on the counter, and she seemed to concentrate and read things on the screen for ages and ages? I began to fear that something was wrong… My IQ told me something was wrong!

Eventually, after I nearly fell asleep a few times waiting, she said that the manageress was unavailable today??? She added in a wholly disquieting, nerve-making tone, (To me anyway!) That the transfer had gone through and I could now use the new card. Conviction, was missing in her voice? Knowing my luck, I found it hard to believe that things were alright with it. Time will prove me right, my IQ is rarely wrong. Watch this space! Oh, dear…

Started to hobble up the hill to see if any buses might be coming to get me back up to the flats and realised the L8 service had finished, so no matter what the time, no luck. As I knew the L9 route came at 25 minutes past the hour, and it was 54 minutes past now.

So I limped back the way I came from and walked up Winchester Street Hill back to the flats.

Amazingly, I arrived in time (Well, not very late anyway) for the Tenants Social Hour. But it was hard work not hearing folks unless they were next to me and I could see the lips.

Got the raffle tickets and donated them to a table of ladies, handed out the nibbles, managed a quick bit of a gossip with Penny and BJ – then decided to call it quits and go back to the flat to get the hearing aids and take some painkillers and an extra Omeprazole.

4Thur09Boy, was I lucky, just missed the downpour that started as I got in, put the fodder away and had a wee-wee before taking the midday and the extra medications. A bit of a mouthful that, Haha!

The rain was so fine it was hard to see, I’d got the hearing aids in by then and heard it more than saw it.

It only lasted a few minutes, but anyone in it would have recognised it as ‘That wet rain’ and got soaked through!

Did an order for Morrison’s while I thought of it. A job getting the new card accepted, but all okay now.

Set off on slow, nice and easy hobble to the Clinic at the City Hospital, remembering to take the attendance card and bus pass to get back with. See? Sometimes I can get things right, Hehe!

05Thu12.jpg

When I crossed over Valley Road at the pelican lights, a gentleman in a BMW went over on amber, gave me a fright he did.

I was well pleased with Anne Gyna, Arthur Itis and Duodenal Donald (Actually he was less bothersome now?) on the limp to the clinic. Only the feet gave me a lot of any bother. And no rain in sight. Come think of it, the roads might have been greasy, and that’s why Mr BMW didn’t try to stop? Glad I didn’t call him a naughty name now.

The usual Po-faced Obergruppenfurher on the reception again. I’ve worked out to annoy now. I keep a smile on my face and am extremely friendly and polite to him. Haha!

No waiting at all, I was called in within 2 minutes – into an office full of medical professionals and students. They explained As I thought about the Morphine removal being so that if I need it during the graft operation, it would be more efficient for me. The head man (I assumed as the others said nothing to him, except in answer to his prompting, but hung on his every word) explained the procedure in detail to me. But I will not repeat anything on here, cause it fritted me. Hehehe!

Then we all went into the treatment room, and they had a silent giggle and declared me all okay for the surgery to take place, as long as I have no more bad bleeds. After much embarrassment and poking and prodding, we returned back into the office and, he was a Mr, not Doctor? Advised me that having to cancel the original surgical time will mean a longer wait, this time around. Fair enough!  He gave me more cream.

I thanked him, got out into the reception area and smiled at Hitler, the sweetest smile I could manage and said Thank you, my friend, received a look back that should have killed me actually, and got out quickly. Hehe!

I was going to take a photographicalisation of the clinic but had left the camera in the flat. Tsk!

A number 40 bus arrived within seconds of my getting to the bus stop. All this good luck is very worrying yer know! If had got the camera and used it, I’d have missed the bus!

The uphill, but a short walk from the 40 bus stop back to to the apartment block, was excruciating for me, thanks to the state of the feet and Anne Gyna starting to kicking off again.

So glad to get back inside. Had a long wee-wee. Checked on the man and woman handled Little inchy, no bleeding. Phew!

Kettle on, and I took the evening medications then, got the computer on to update this again. Did the last Health Checks. Sys still a little high, but lower than the first two checks.

Oh, the feet and Anne Gyna… but Duodena4Thur08l Donald was bearable.

Got the fodder away went on Facebook catch-up then the meal was prepared and consumed.

The ‘Luxury’ fish surimi sticks were delicious and tasty. I didn’t eat all of it, left most of the potatoes, the pepper was a little too hot for me. The egg was of a plasticity and rubber texture that was unpleasant. However, I did have an orange sucker and a handful of chocolate balls afterwards.

Got the DVD going to watch some more of the Jonathan Creek episodes, the new headphones are marvellous.

Repeatedly fell asleep and had to rewind, so often I gave up trying.

Inchcock – Friday 14th April 2017

5Fri01

Friday 14th April 2017

Irish: Dé hAoine 14 Aibreán, 2017

0425hrs: Stirred, head full of memories of the dreams spinning around and made some notes scribbled quickly, before they evaporated. 5Fri02

Out of the second-hand £300 rickety recliner and to the porcelain thrown. Hard, painful work in more ways than one.

Coming out of the wet room, a flashing green light near the door caught my eye, and I put the light on in the hall to investigate and photographicalised the culprit up on the wall near the ceiling.

What the heck is it? Not to worry, the light, whatever it symbolises, was slowly flashing green.

Made a cuppa and took a Senna with the medications.

Drank the tea and pondered over the dream notes. Seems I was a German soldier somewhere in Russia. There were three others with me – In a building hiding from thousands of Russian troops with dozens of T34s and Katyusha’s knocking the hell out of the area around us – We had no ammunition left, but made up a bottle of vodka mixed with my Betamethasone ointment? But we were calm and talked among ourselves, amazingly it appeared we heard each other’s voices amidst the cacophony of noise – It was like a comedy really. We were putting our Party Membership cards in envelopes with our resignations, and worried that the mail might not get through?

Then I found myself in a sparsely decorated room with large attractive ladies of all ages and origins coming through one of two doors, laughing, or sneering at me then, going out of the other door? A chap came in eventually, after seemingly hours of the visiting ladies of all sorts of ages and types ended – Told me they had failed to find one that was willing to have a date with me? And the agency will not charge me for the assessment – or something like that?

As I wrote the above from my notes, I thought what good ideas for a comedy sketch? Wish I had the energy, willpower and concentration to write them.

Got out the sphygmomanometer and did the first Health Checks. I looked this up on Google. (sphygmomanometer. 1891, from comb. form of Greek sphygmos “pulse,” from sphyzein “to beat, throb” + -meter. An instrument for measuring blood pressure in the arteries, especially one consisting of a pressure gauge and a rubber cuff that wraps around the upper arm and inflates to constrict the arteries)

Many thanks to Tim Price in America for the word sphygmomanometer! I might not be able to pronounce it, but I can write it. Hehe!

5Fri02aThe first readings of the day for this week seem to be settled and okay? Despite having missed two of the evening doses of my medications, which of course include the Warfarin doses.

Had a dizzy as I made another cuppa, a long one this time. Tsk!

Got the dairy for yesterday finalised and sent off. Started this one off, then did some WordPress reading and commenting.

Went onto Facebook. Realising then, why I was so confused yesterday. It was Easter. No wonder the crowds in Nottingham were so few, no wonder there was L9 buses not turning up, no wonder I thought it was Saturday today. Sad indeed!

TupperThen worked on the next TFZer graphicalisation, and got it finished.

Then began on the next one.

This one is Lona Dean, at her individualised Tupperware Party.

Noticed the serving trolley well stocked with alcoholic beverages?

Hehehe!

Hopes she likes it.

Had a campaign leaflet delivered on behalf of the Tory candidate in respect of the upcoming local Council voting poll. Usual splurge of nothingness, and who believes them anyway… from any party!

I put it to one side so I could ignore it later in comfort.

Carried out the ablutions and medical checks. Little Inchy was bleeding far even less than earlier, so that was good, still a bit tender mind. Haemorrhoid Harold, just a few spots of haemoglobin leaked. Couldn’t even see the burn on the hand now.

Got ready and set off to town to see if I could get a set of headphones to replace the one’s that have started to break up on me.

Good chinwag in the foyer with some residents before catching the bus into town with Mary (Or is it Sheila?). The bus filled up en route.

5Fri04Dropped off the bus and into Victoria Centre and up to the Fruit & Veg Market. Got some more garden peas, a leek and a turnip. Then to the nut stall and got som dark chocolate cashew nuts.

To the end of the mall and down into Tesco. Got a Sourdough loaf, vegetarian hot dog sausages appetising! And astonishingly, another pack of two Fresh Cream Horns jumped into the basket! (Hard to believe I know [Cause this is a lie], Hehe!)

5Fri05Paid up and departed across the road in the rain to the Curry-PC World shop to look at the headphones.

I had to admire the staff in there, they managed not to see me or ignore with every time I began or even thought of approaching one, and they it with style, ease and determination. Once I moved over to the computer section, I was mobbed by staff who seemed to appear suddenly, as if they were in Dr Who or a Star Trek episode! They, of course, lost their adopted artificial fake-phoney smiles immediately on hearing I wanted help with selecting some headphones to suit my needs and I didn’t understand the jargon on the tickets on shelves: “Oh, no, I’m on the Computer side!” Etc.

I departed.

5Fri09Walked up through Trinity Walk and could not resist taking this photographicalisation of one of the new giant eateries, branded as ‘Curious Manor’.

The open sign lit up and not a soul of customer or even prospective patron, inside or out of it.

I wondered if they had got enough chairs and tables to cope with the stampede? Hahaha!

5Fri12bI noticed in the jewellery shop window these two ladies watches and took a photograph to use as a competition to guess the prices on the TFZer site.

Wondered if they were real diamonds.

If I remember of course.

Thought they looked a bit different like?

Wondered into5Fri11 the town centre and down Exchange Walk and had a potter around the M&S store.

I got tempted in the Food Hall again, Tsk! They had some really tiny packs of Chinese Pork Ribs that are usually £4 each at £1.50 cause they only had one day left on the sell by date. So I got one.

Then, the same with the Potato Rostis, 4 for 85p instead of £2.99. That’s tonight’s meal sorted I thought.

5Fri12Out and wondered down to the Argos Store to see if they had any suitable headphones, not that I knew much about them. But if they didn’t have Wifi – Mobile Phone or cordless on the descriptions I should be alright?

But if they didn’t have Wifi – Mobile Phone, Connectivity or Cordless on the descriptions I should be alright?

Looked in the catalogue and selected a set of Sony MDR-XB450AP RRD Over-ear-headphones!

I know this because it is written on the receipt. I managed to fend off the ladies rather insistent request for me to take out a three-year insurance policy on them, as well as she wanting me to become an Argos Fan and sign up with them? She did wrangle my email address out of me, though.

5Fri10I walked back into the Slab Square, feet aching a bit now.

Popped into the Primark Store, but only got a few yards into it. It was like Goose Fair or a Cup Final in there!

Too dangerous for me in my condition. I retreated back out.

5Fri12aI noted a, well I don’t know the word really, milliners perhaps?A shop that did clothes mending sewing and

A shop that did clothes mending sewing and adjusting, stitching. It made me think of TFZer Nancy, so I took this picture hoping to add Nancy to it for a bit of fun later.

Up to Queen Street and caught the L9 bus back to the apartment… on my own. I was the only passenger on it, no one got on en route either! It was like catching a large taxi – apart from the route of course.

Got in and had a wee-wee. Little Inchy had been leaking, but only a tiny bit. Cleaned and Betamethasoned him!

Emptied the bins and took the bags to the chute. Got the oven warming up ready to put the Rostis and Ribs in later.

Made a mug of tea and set about updating this diary. Took the evening medications, a bit early, but I didn’t want to miss any more doses.

Went in to check on the fodder in the oven – by gum the view was beautiful. Not sunny, just calm and nice.

5Fri12c

Got the meal sorted and cooking.

Another dizzy-spell, again a bad one (Two bad ones in the same day, not good that).

Put the computer off and took a St John’s Wort with a glass… well not glass, I don’t have any, a mug of spring water, and the usual medications.

5Fri12dGot the plate filled with a spread of Potato Rostis, Asda vegetarian sausages, beetroots, fresh Garden Peas, Sourdough bread, orange yoghourt and a banana.

I really enjoyed this one.

Had to sort out the pod peas from the stalks, there was probably more stalk than pods! I forgot to ask the lady at the fruit and veg stall where they came from. Egypt would be my guess. Not anything like as sweet as the English, but having been deprived of the flavour for so long, I still liked them. And those Asda veg sausages are good too.

Had a peep at what was available on the TV – Too much, many programmes on different channels at the same time that I fancied seeing. Tsk!

Not that it mattered though, I spend a larger proportion of the next three hour nodded off than awake.

Up for a wee-wee.

Took the plate and cutlery from the meal and put them in to soak overnight, had yet another dizzy (Not a bad one this time, though), and settled into the ‘Even-more-shaky £300 second-hand recliner and was off into the land of nod, almost immediately.
