Inchcock – Tuesday 11th April 2017: Dizzies, Whoopsiedangleplops, bleeding and Accifaupas galore. Humph!

Tuesday 11th April 2017

Lithuanian: Antradienis 11-asis balandžio 2017

0404hrs: Woke, annoyed I could not recall the dreams, only that they were not nice.

Out of the nervous making rattling shuddering unstable £300 second-hand recliner. Kettle on. To the porcelain throne, painful and bloody passing again.

Made a mug of tea and took the morning medications.

Glad to see that I had left a note on the TV to remind me of the camera lesson at the  Jessops store today.

Carried out the Health Checks, looking fine this time: Sys 145 – Dia 75 – Pulse 79 -Temperature 36.6 – Weight 14.8.

The computer activated and finalised yesterday’s diary and posted it.

Made a start on this one.

Did some Facebooking.

Got the ablutionisationing done and took the rubbish bags to the chute, and had time to update this a bit and do a little WordPressing before I had to go down to get the bus into town.

Jolly good chinwag with some of the other tenants in the lobby before we all tripped off to the bus stop.

I was the only one going on the town bus. Got the crossword book out, the Daily Sun one, which should have been easier for me to do, but the print is so small, thought I might have a look in the cheap book shop later to see if they any in bigger print in stock.

Got off the bus and walked over the road and went into Boot’s to see if they had any ear wax remover. This, because one hearing aid tube had perished. I was struggling to hear things and knew I had excessive wax, which I usually use the Olive oil to treat, but had foolishly missed doing so for a couple of days, and thought Boot’s remover would do the job quicker. Anway I thought, I’m going up to the Audio Centre after the camera lesson and can get new tubes and batteries. Then: Thud, it hit me! Another Whoopisedangleplop! I’d forgotten to take the Authorising Book with me – Gnaperplnkdam! So I could not get the things today!

Anyway, I investigated the supply and costs of the Eye Spray, thinking this might help with the difficulties I’m having reading the subtitles and programme details on the TV. The cheapest one was £18.99 for a 10ml spray. Too much! I did get an ear-wax remover though at £3.89.

Out of the Boot’s store and into Victoria Shopping (Mall) Centre and in the Market for a wander around, cause I2Tue001a had a plenty of time before the tutoring session.

Noted that they were erecting a nibbling for the juniors area.

Bet this is going to be mayhem later?

Hehehe!

2Tue03Up the escalator and took this photo of the hanging in the air mannequins.

The market was not very busy again, but I espied some fresh pod peas on sale! Hurrah!

I asked the lady for a pound, and she asked if I was sure? Yes, I replied.

I realised what she meant when she asked me for £2.50! That’s, USD $3.20 – Aus $ 4.15 – Can $ 4.18 a pound! Blimus, worra price!

2Tue04

Limped out of the mall over the walkway above Upper Parliament Street taking this photographicalisation en route.

Down and into the Pound Shop and had a wander around.

Got some nibbles for the Social Hour on Thursday and some Dettol Orange scented spray.

The feet were getting painful, but I knew not why?

Meandered to the Jessop Camera Shop and eventually, an assistant asked what I wanted. Told her about the lesson and she said the man would be with me shortly, which he was. The bad news? The room was up three flights of stairs! The tootsies suffered, and Anne Gyna introduced herself into the equation. Tsk!

I must have looked poorly, because after five minutes the young chap asked if I was alright, and I wasn’t. He kindly offered to change the lesson to another day at no extra cost. Which was very welcome being as I apparently looked very pale he said, offering to call an ambulance. I thanked him and took him up on a new date when I should have the hearing aids sorted, and that would make things easier for me.

Within minutes of hobbling out of the store, I felt a lot better2Tue09a in myself. I wandered into a Sports Direct Shop, didn’t realise until I got in that it was for the younger generation, however, I did see they had some what they called, Everlast Crew Sweat thingamabobs on sale at 2 for £10.

They looked warm and comfortable, and they had them in XL too, so I invested in a couple.

It took that long at the pay-point I missed the bus back to the flats.as

So I took a painful hobble around the City Centre, to kill time until the next bus was due in.

2Tue10

On to Long Row, listened to some Street Artist banging out rubbish music and took the time to appreciate Nottingham’s most famous architect, Watson Fothergill.

I popped into the store in his building and bought a TV magazine for next week.

2Tue07 Fifteen minutes to go until the bus was due, I went into The Works bookshop and had a look around for some bigger print crossword books.

Managed to find some as well, and they were a good price… mind you the one’s I bought three months ago from there were too…

But can I find them? No!

2Tue11Up Queen Street and to the bus stop. A bit of a kerfuffle here today. The bus stop is shared between three routes, and it is finely tuned to handle them all, so if anyone is late, they are all late because those behind cannot pull up to pick passengers and have to go around the block again. Although some drivers go passed them, not picking them up. Hehe! The L9 did today though he was well late by the time he pulled off. I am amazed at how they cope with it all.

Caught the bus, had to go out into the middle of the road along with other passengers, but we got it. Had a go at the old small print crosswords en route.

Back at the flats, an urgent, mark one, Defcon two wee-wee was tended to. Hahaha!

Got the potatoes boiling in the saucepan. Put the shirts and other things away and found the written note the Jessop’s lad had done for me with the date and time of the 2Tue09rearranged lesson on it… eventually. I thought it was in the bag, but no.

Finally, I found it in the coat pocket.

Recorded it in the Google Calendar.

Got this diary updated, made a mug of tea and took the evening medications, passed the wind and just made it to the porcelain throne in time… Phew! But far much worse was found… Little Inchy had been bleeding away, and the lesion was torn open as bad as it ever has been! I think this might put an end to the operation plans now? The cleansing and Betamethasone cream was applied, but I had to do it all again a few minutes later.

More extra washing to do now! Must get the mass of laundry done in the morning.

2Tue14Carried on Chronicalisationing, then got the meal prepared.

Despite the aches and pains, bleeding Little Inchy and a dizzy spell or two, I enjoyed the meal.

So tired and drained, I only stayed awake for the first part of Heartbeat, going off into the dream-world at the first commercial break!

What a day, Humph!

Inchcock – Wednesday 5th April 2017: Bank Farce Progress? Just maybe?

3Wed001

Wednesday 5th April 201

Swahili: Jumatano ya 5 April 2017

Woke at 0425hrs: The swelling legs had gone down a bit and were far less painful this morning. I think Anne Gyna knew this, cause she was giving me some nasty painful stabs, bless her.

Got out of the £300 second-hand recliner with little bother, and into the kitchen to put the kettle on, turned on the computer and then off to the porcelain throne. Oh dear. Haemorrhoid Harold had and was still bleeding a fair bit, but not enough to make me discard any clothing. Cleaned up and medicated what needed medicating.

Made a nice strong mug of tea and took the medications. At this point, the legs started to give me some bother again. Tsk! Found a note on the 1960 second-hand E-Plan sideboard, with scribble about a dream on it? How it found it’s way onto the sideboard I wasn’t sure?

Got the WordPress going to finish yesterday’s post off, and realised I must have got up last night and wrote about the dream, cause the writing was there in front of me in the diary? A good job I did, because I could never have gleaned so much detail from the scribble I’d wrote.

The tea had gone cold, so I went to make another one. Did the health-checks while I was in there. Dia 169 – Sys 75 – Pulse 89 – Temp 38.1 C, and the best of the lot, Weight 14.75, down at last! I’ll do it again later if I remember, cause I’d not long got rid of a hell of a dollop on the throne.

Remembered I’d got two deliveries coming this morning from Asda and Morrison. So had a wash and changed into the day clothes so as not to answer the door in my jammies.

Finished off yesterday’s diary and started this one off. Realised I’d not put on the picture of last evening’s sky, so I took another one of it.

3Wed01

The Copse is getting thicker now, I’ll soon be able to have a wander through it in search of flora and fauna to photographalise.

I’ve ordered a new kettle in one of the deliveries, cause the one I have seems to be resisting my descaling efforts nowadays.

3Wed03

Had a bash on Facebook for a few hours. The Morrison delivery arrived, followed by the Asda (Walmart) one.

Overdone it again!

Made another brew and weighed myself again… 2lb up on three hours ago and I have not eaten anything? Grumph! Mind you, I can feel the legs and ankles swelling again?

Fodder

Graphic created for the TFZer site. Took me hours with one, but it ain’t too bad.

Got the washing ready and down to the laundry room. Fellow tenant Paul was there, had a quick chinwagging session.

3Wed05

Back up to the flat and finished the above graphic.

Postman called with the Stat pension letter.

I opened it with trepidation… they had got the right Postcode on it! But the wrong detail sheet! I swore so much!

3Wed07

Down once more to collect the washing. Cleaned the filter.

Back in flat, put the togs away and called Olive to see how she was and tell her about the continuing banking farce.

I can visit her tomorrow, in the morning.

Got ready and went down to the bank, just hoping this State Pension form with the correct address would be suitable for the job!

Feeling a bit down for some reason, and I’d been so high earlier?

The s3Wed08aun was shining, and the wind a blowing as I departed on my hobble to and down Winchester Street Hill and to the bank to see Lisa, the new manager.

At the end of Winchester Street, three rascals speeding down the hill on the pavement forced me to move across the road. Little varmints!

Fair queue when I got into the bank. Only one on the counter. Ten minutes or so later, Lisa opened another window, tended to the chap in front of me and another 10 minutes later, she beckoned me over to the counter. I managed to keep those behind waiting another 20 minutes as she sorted the paperwork out and asked for some forms they had already taken six weeks ago and photocopied, so she could photocopy them!?!?

She ‘Thought’ the newly arrived State Pension breakdown detail letter should be acceptable. She will ring me and if it goes through and let me know. Again, I asked if it would be possible to email me, but no. Told her about the Doctor being off sick so I might not get the required details from her, and that is if she agrees to do them for me, no obligation on her part to do it.

So, I said I would drop in at the bank, on Monday afternoon to find out what is happening. I am not in an unexpectant, but rather a nervous frame of mind now, no confidence left.

Peeped into the Birds Cake Shop window, jus tin case they had any of the Fresh Cream Iced Buns in, but they hadn’t. Naturally, I took this in good spirits.

Cried on my way up to the bus stop. (Not really, but I thought you might find this funny and like a laugh?)

3Wed08Back at the flats, I was nearly blown off my feet by the wind.

The sun was still bright, but when I got back up to the apartment, I could hear the winds howling. But the scenery was gorgeous to look at.

I couldn’t get my head around the fact that I had not bought any fodder, well, anything at all while out. Another odd sensation for me. Hehe!

3Wed09Updated the diary for Monday next on my Google page.

Looks like a busy Monday coming up.

Updated this diary after making a jolly strong mug of tea.

The legs and ankles were I think less swollen now, hurting all the same and irritating Arthur Itis, though. Humph!

Took the potatoes out of the saucepan, ready to have with a cold meal later on. (Or Not?)

Not sure what I’m going to have with them mind, but there is plenty to choose from.

Put the Lumix camera and mobile phone on charge and visited the porcelain again.

Haemorrhoid Harold leaking just a bit, Little Inchy not bleeding, but sore.

Popped on Facebook being as I was amazingly not too tired.

Did some WordPressing.

3Wed10Took the evening medications, finished on Facebooking and got the fodder prepared.

I accidentally had two of the lemon drizzles afterwards.

A mere misfortune that could happen to anyone. Ahem!

This meal consisted of mini-pork and caramelised onion, mushrooms, beetroot, boiled potatoes (Not done in Soy Sauce, Orb has advised me not to use this for a while as it contains a lot of sodium) sliced and drizzled with American potato seasoning, tomato puree, Vegetable sage & onion with herbs slices and soft cheese portions one with mushroom, one extra strong and one with Gouda. Oh, and the Lemon Drizzles and a banana. Nice! 9.5/10.

Tired, but I think the legs and ankles are reducing in size and water content again. Fingers crossed.

Soon nodded off.

Inchcock Today: Saturday 25th March 2017

6Sat01a

Saturday 25th March 2017

Estonian: Laupäev 25 märts, 2017

Stirred around 0245hrs, the dirty dinner plate on the next chair, notes about a dream on the arm of it and desperate for a heavy duty session on the porcelain.

Untangled my ever increasing body mass from the delicate and rickety £300 second-hand recliner chair and off to the porcelain throne. Once again, no bleeding from the front or rear… I’m beginning to worry about Haemorrhoid Harold, Hehe!

6Sat03Got the dirty pots washed up, made a brew and took the medications, then trimmed the carrots and got them into the slow cooker with Mushroom Soy Sauce.

Performed the Health Checks. All looking good here too!

Perused the scribbled notepaper, and found I’d been dreaming apparently, about an underground fight with gigantic earthworms… or was it that I was shrunken? Whichever, after the conflict I found myself in a room being interviewed by, well some secret service type people I reckon, they were not messing about, and I was bloodied and battered during the conversation about my not renewing my TV licence? The words Linctus and Doormat (I think that is what I’d written) on the paper meant nothing to me?

Got on and spent the next two and a half hours or more, sorting yesterday’s mammoth diary and got it posted off. A long busy day, leaving me with photographicalisation to sort and post as well as recall all that had happened… mind you, seeing the photos helped me.

6Sat02

The view out of the window was almost pretty, with the sun coming up and creating shadows over the houses. When I took the photo, I thought I could see an aeroplane on the right, but it seems to have disappeared?

When I took the picture, I thought I could see an aircraft on the right, but it appears to have gone?

Guess what? I’ll tell yers… I went into the other 6Sat01room to do the weighing of my fat frame, and I found the missing camera! Perfectly naturally and to be expected, it was in the laundry bag! Huh?

Oh heck! Back up again by more than it went down yesterday! Humph!

But all the other reading seemed about right and no surprises.

6Sat04Even the pulse had gone down nicely. Add the fact that Haemorrhoid Harold and Little Inchy had not been bleeding and Arthur Itis was so kind this morning, even after yesterday’s struggle in town. And Duodenal Donald had eased too, things were looking good I thought – That was before I tested the carrots again and managed without any bother to stab myself between the fingernail and finger with the sharp end knife!

Someone (Well a lot of folks) have said I am too much of a pessimist. Here is proof, or one of the root causes that I am one. Every time I start to get that dreaded feel-good factor in my life… Mr Thatservesyouright visits me. Humph, Hehe!

It’s a good job I’m used to it, or I could get discouraged you know!

Started this diary off, then did some WordPressing.

Did some Facebooking then.

Got the ablutions tended to, in time I hope, to catch the first bus at 1030hrs into Sherwood. Missed the bus, so walked down to Sherwood.

Limping along Chestnut Walk passing the vehicles and on the right, I fell in love with a single Daisy. All on her own she was. I had a chat with her. Hopefully, no one realised this.

6Sat05

Onto Winchester Street Hill. Halfway down I took this photograph below left, and near the bottom the second photograph.

6Sat06

These represent the beauteousness weather and the wonder of nature.

Also, that Arthur Itis was still kind to my knees and ankles as I poddled along slowly but fairly comfortable this afternoon down to the shops.

Arrived at the Continental Food Store and invested in some of my favourite Roast Belly Pork with herbs and garlic, and two slices of another belly pork that looked good, without herbs. A small sliced Continental loaf and a jar of garden peas and carrots with flavouring.

Arthur was beginning to affect the fingers for some reason.

I lazily strolled very slowly up the hill on Mansfield Road and called into the Wilko store to get some disposable razors. I left with the blades, a Citrus body deodorant for men (Of course, Hehe!) some disposable oven trays, Vitamin B complex tablets, and electrical extension lead with four sockets with on/off controls on each and one more of the Pure Citrus fresh air without water sprays at half-price, £1.50!

As I was taking the change from the helpful lady serving me, the damned fingers froze. I had to walk further up the road to the bus stop with the receipt, and a fiver stuck firmly in my grasp! Tried to prise them out and the receipt got torn in half, but the five-pound note was okay as the fingers relented and loosened their grip of steel.

Roy was at the bus-stop and had a right laugh over my fingers declaring independence, as he said. But it was a hard conversation as we had both not got out hearing aids in. What a pair we are!

Chinwag with Roy and back to the flat. Wee-wee, put the things away and made a cuppa and onto the computer to update this diary and do some work on graphicalisationing.

And there I remained for seven hours. The result (below):

W2

Very late by the time I’d got it finished, and I was so tired, but semi-pleased with the resulting graphicalisation.

6Sat08Got the nosh ready. The red carrots cooked in the crock-pot with mushroom soy sauce were appetising, the belly pork divine with the beetroot cheeses and pickled eggs.

Lemon Fool to follow with a banana.

I devoured it with relish and settled into the £300 second-hand recliner with a mug of tea and digested the evening medications, rather later than usual with the good strong Yorkshire 6Sat07atea brew.

The finger I had stabbed down the nail with the paring knife in the picture on the left seemed to smile at me with a metallic glint that said threateningly; “I’ll get you again Inchcock…Hehehe!”

I knew then that I was either overtired or going bonkers… perhaps both?

7Sun03I repeatedly drifted off for a few minutes, woke, realised the programme had finished, drifted off again, realised the prog… you get the picture. The mind was seemingly over-active, and I have no idea when I eventually nodded off proper-like, but it was well after midnight.

I must remember tomorrow to add some of the Polish half-rye-half wheat Sourdough bread to my order for next Wednesday.

I did wake momentarily during a dream. I lay trying to remember it, but nothing there in the memory of any details.

Inchcock Today Tuesday 22nd November 2016: Depressed, new ailments arrive and sorry for myself – Humph!

2tue01

Tuesday 22nd November 2016

Spanish: Martes 22 de Noviembre de 2016

0230hrs: Once again woke up with the £300 second-hand recliner in the down position, and could not recall any dreams whatsoever.

Decided to get the laundry done first thing. Got some clothes on and collected the bag already prepared with the accoutrements needed. Down and got the machine going.

Back up to the flat, made a brew, took the medications and by then it was time to go down again. Changed the gear from the washer to dryer and went back up to 72.

Made a start on finishing yesterday’s diary and got it posted. Did some graphics to use later.

Down to collect the washing: and for the first time, I noticed on the wall boards near the lift doors on the ground floor, some new (Or that I had not observed before) signs as I exited the elevator.

2tue04Well the notices: Top left, no point in me going because, in the past, I’ve not been able to hear what anyone is saying at these meeting?

Top right, I cannot be a Responsible Tenant Award winner, thanks to British Gas mucking me about and lying to me, has put me in behind with my payments.

Bottom left, I agree with this one, but many tenants are still doing this. Although, me being an early riser, I’m not bothered about it.

Bottom Right: A new one this! That puts an end to me using the facilities here. No way can any tenants get their washing done in the day; cause residents are using two machines at the same time, and it is mission impossible! This is why folk do use the launderette at this ridiculous hour. However, I didn’t realise it was bothering folk. So, I’ll have to use the launderette in future. Means either a 45-minute walk there and back to Carrington, or catching two buses each way. Humph!

What with these instructions and being told I cannot photograph people at the Social Hour. Having to wait 30 days to hav2tue05e the heating radiator mended. The mess made when they supposedly sealed the draught in the kitchen and left the foam all over the wall, and it ran down over the electricity outlet and turned solid, and the wind still blows in so I have to put cardboard taped over the hole in the wall still!

I informed and showed the mess to those in charge here, and nothing was done, and complete uninterest in my problem was demonstrated by them…

All this makes me feel far less sanguine than I should be here in my new home.

Now we have (I’m told), three years of building and modernisation to contend with. How many more new moans will there be when that starts?

Can’t get your washing done, can’t take photographs… oh, I’m getting dispirited and pessimistic about the future here now.

Well, that’s that little kvetch over and done with. I don’t feel any better for it, though. Humph!

0635hrs: Got myself feeling down now.

Made another cuppa, of course, because of the complaints received it is too early to use the shower yet, or take the rubbish to the chute, or listen to the radio without the headphones on – which is how I listen to the radio and TV anyway – which in itself brings the problem of my not hearing the fire alarm, landline or mobile ringing while using the headphones.

The sensation of being tristifical and crestfallen has now joined my overall depression all of a sudden. Am I turning into a petulant old grouch?

Got on Facebooking until 0920hrs, then hurriedly carried out the ablutions and got ready to go to collect my prescription. (Which I forgot to do, humph!).

As I left the flat, Olive was on her way down to catch a taxi. Had a quick gossip and I aided her into the cab that arrived as we reached the foyer doors. Said my farewells and to the bus-stop.

The knees and back were still painful from the tumble I took on Sunday. But Anne Gyna was in a good mood with me.

On the bus into Arnold, I realised I’d forgotten to take the camera with me – of course, many things of interest occurred that I would have liked to have photographicalised. Huh! The car that hit a parked car, the pair, both using their phones who walked into a glass door… hey-ho.

Went to Sainsbury’s store. Got some excellent bread, Surimi fish tails nd some sliced mushrooms. The legs and back were getting worse, so I decided to get back to the flat and take some extra painkillers and apply the pain gel.

The legs and back were getting worse, so I decided to get back to the apartment and take some extra painkillers and rubbed in some pain gel. To the bus-stop and the L9 arrived minutes later, then the pains suddenly started that seemed to be coming from the back top of the left eye. Took the spectacles off, and realised I had new growth of whatever on the left bridge of the nose, where the glasses rest.

2tue08Got back to the apartment and checked out the nose. Put some cream on the nose infection whatever it is. Painful wearing the glasses at all now.

I then noticed a bit of bleeding on the bridge side, and under the eye internally and new growth on the top of the eyelid? Tsk!

I thought I was feeling a bit down earlier in the day, now I know that I am! These new ailments are seeming to go on for an aeviternity lately.

Telling signs of declining health as one ages, but I’m still glad to be here. Hehehe!

2tue06Got the fodder prepared. I wasn’t up to doing anything from scratch, so I had the Surimi, tomatoes, sliced apple, mushrooms, cheese sticks and some bread and butter.

I was convinced I’d eat some more nibbles later, but it didn’t happen, maybe this w2tue07ill please the scales in the morning? Haha!

Looked at the front room, remembered that the Hygiene ladies will be coming tomorrow.

I’ll ask them if they would kindly polish my 1967 G-plan cabinet I think.

The orangeish throw on the ottoman is the one that Olive gave me to use until I get the heater mended… if I ever do get it mended.

Took the medications with an extra 5mg of diamorphine.

The legs and back, along with the eye problem, made resting difficult, but as soon as I got a Jonathan Creek DVD playing, I nodded off…

Inchcock Today: Monday 14th November 2016: The excellent meal made up for last nights disasterous one!

1mon01

Monday 14th November 2016

In Persian: دوشنبه 2016 نوامبر 14

Woke wide awake at 0025hrs, no memories of any dreams. Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and to the porcelain for a WRHD session. I think the eggs last night may have had some effect in causing the difficulties encountered during this session. Not a nice one.

7sun06

Last Nights Disaster! It looked good, but oh dear, the mess I made!

Cleaned up the dish and accoutrements used in consuming last nights eating of the most not-nice meal since I’ve been here in the flat.

Rating this one at 6.1/10 is a little overgenerous methinks? I got everything cooked wrongly and even the rosti potatoes were horrible. Shame!

0115hrs: Got the laundry stuff prepared and down to the laundry room. Washer going, back up to update this record of an incompetent Nottingham Pensioner.

1mon030155hrs: Down and swapped the clothes from washer to dryer, started it going and back up to the flat. Started off doing a graphic for the TFZer site.

Noticed someone had not cleaned the filter again. Ah well, I cleaned it and started the dryer going.

Up to the apartment and posted the results for the spot the tiger thingy what we TFZers did.

Checked the time of the INR blood Test appointment this morning on my Google Calendar. 0935hrs, so I must remember.

I’ll have a walk to the surgery, then carry on after the tests into town methinks.

Hello, the stomach is grumbling and rumbling again.

Did some Facebooking again.

0255hrs: Down to the laundry room one last time to collect the clothes and clean the filter again. Back up to 72, and stored the things away.

Made a mug of tea. Another WRHD session. Back on graphicationalising on CorelDraw X8.

0724hrs: Several hours later, had to stop, cause it was time for me ablutionising session and get the things ready for the blood test and shopping.

Back in a bit, I hope.

Set off on the walk to Carrington and the surgery.

It was warmer than I thought it would be out there this morning.

I had to be weary going down the hill locally, due to the wet rain making the fallen leaves a bit dodgy to walk on.

1mon031mon04Down the hill to Mansfield Road and turned left up the hill and over it down into Carrington.

At the brow of the incline, the traffic was at a standstill.

I actually felt glad I was no longer allowed to drive. Finding somewhere to park, getting fuel. the taxing and insuring of the car, bus-lanes, Cyclist wihtout lights, the MOT testing, the insurance etc.

Not to mention the road rage and aggressive nature of drivers nowadays.

The legs and feet felt okayish, Anne Gyna had gone on a vacation, Arthur Itis lingered a bit, the cramps had eased up too.

Got to the surgery and the nurse took my blood and we managed a little chinwag. She told me that the district nurses would be calling tonight and tomorrow night to give me an Enoxaparin booster jab. (They didn’t appear tonight, though)

Out of the GP surgery and to the bus stop and caught one into town.

1mon05 1mon06Had a limp into Vic centre to view the chairs in the Jessop Store. No one around to ask any questions of, so I departed and had a walk to the Tesco at the end of the mall. The sourdough bread was all short-dated and squashed. Those Fresh Cream French Horn cakes jumped into my bag. (Ahem!)

Out and walked to the Aldi store and got some PeaSnacks and a filled Yorkshire Pudding with Chicken roast potatoes stuffing and mini sausages in gravy. That’ll be an easy to prepare nosh for me for a change, less chance of me making a cock-up? (Say’s the old yonderly dreamer)

1mon07Hobbled, the feet were beginning to sting a bit now, through the famously busy Clinton Street and into the slab square to see how the erecting of the profit-seeking Christmas Fayre stalls were progressing.

The limp through was hazard ridden, with pavement cyclists, Big Issue sellers and various charity collections going on.

Popped into the Poundland store and had a wonder around. Found some tins of Stewed Steak and Pulled Pork that would come in handy I thought, so I got a can of  each. Also a tube of Colgate Gel toothpaste, I like this one cause it is not overly scented or flavoured and seems to suit me. Used the self-serve thingy for the first time. Got in a pickle with it, a sign flashed Assistance Coming! The girl who arrived had the most perfect “Oh no, not anohter old ditherer to sort out!” expression on her face. Hehehe!

1mon08 The corner of Long Row and King Street, where the building was taking place. well, it was taking place all over really like.

The part built wooden structure come outlet whatever it is to be when finished, caught my attention.

On closer inspection, it looked rather like a Wild West saloon was being 1mon09built?

A rifle range perhaps? Although I can’t imagine the safety conscious Nottingham City Council permitting such a dangerous entertainment being in the show?

Although having said that, they are allowing me to wait for 30 days before they restore the heating in my flat? Little dig there, sorry).

Up King Street and caught the L9 bus back to the flats. Oh, I do appreciate my free pensioner bus pass!

Getting out of the lift, I called to see Olive. A bit risky, cause it was still near dinner time, and a good telling off was on the cards. Hehe! She asked if the chair was alright and the blanket she loaned me was working. I thanked her and told her the chair made thing a lot easier and the blanket was most appreciated. A quick short chinwag, a cuddle and a peck and I went to the flat and a much-needed WRHD session.

1mon10Getting up like I did again so early this morning, I was well tired and got on with doing the meal first thing.

A bit of a treat this one, the expensive beef in black bean sauce with peppers and a few oven chips. Some PeaSnaps, and I forgot all about the cream horns and had a strawberry dessert. I’ll have the fresh cream french horns tomorrow then?

Took the medications between mouthfuls of gorgeous food!

Planned the TV viewing Another wasted effort there), and fell asleep within half an hour!

Inchcock Today Saturday 12th November 2016: Cold, coughing a bit, but got to see Olive

6sat01

Saturday 12th November 2016

In Mongolian: Бямба 12-р сарын 2016

0115 hrs: Morning each. Burst into life this morning at this ridiculous hour then wondered why. Pondered on a dream in which I was being chased again through corridors in a derelict building. Next, I mountaineered my way out of the £300 second-hand rickety recliner chair and to the porcelain for a WRHW session. Only a small amount of bleeding found this morning.

Decided that being as I was up so early again, I’d get the washing sorted and go down to the laundry room. I left me jammies on and added the day wear on top, cause it was so cold again. Brrr!

6sat02Down and got the machine going, back up and started the computer off, CorelDraw seems to be working better at this stage. (May regret saying that later, Tsk!)

Noticed the official sign on the inner door,  informing us old uns that the alarms were working again.

Down again and moved the stuff out from the washer to dryer. Someone had cleaned the filter out, yet another pleasant surprise there.

Up once more and started to do the diaries. Then the Grammar add-on started working again of its own accord? Another pleasant surprise for me. And the left eye stye seemed to be improving too. Getting worried now with all these good things going on? Getting really cold now, so I put the electric fire on, and damn the cost – which I’ll regret when I get the electricity bill of course. Humph!

Got carried away starting the graphic at the top of this page, and was a little late going down to collect the washing. All okay, back up to the flat and put the things away – which is when the first of the Whoopsiedangleplops occurred, I’ll explain: Taking the towels out of the bag, I usually hang the bath towel on the rail of the shower in the wet room, which I did.

6sat03Unhappily, as I threw the towel above my head to swing it over the rail, I stuck my finger on (Not up, Hehe) my nose, and the cold sore started bleeding and got some on the towel.

I appreciate that this should not have bothered me.

But why does it have to happen just when I’ve cleaned the towel? Hehe!

6sat04Cleared the things away and took my medications, then sorted the pots out for next week.

Got the Crock-Pot vegetables going then. I’m just doing swede and mushrooms today, cause I like this mix with a little Oregano and sea salt and find it appetising and pleasant.

Back to the computer and got on with trying to change the default colour on WordPress. I’d have had more success if I’d tried to operate on myself with a spoon and screwdriver with my eyes closed to try and mend me dodgy ticker than to try getting the default colour changed on here! Huh!

It’s warmed up nicely now with the heater on, but what it will cost me I don’t want to imagine, better turn it off for a bit.

Better get my ablutions done first methinks, though, then I can get dressed in the warmth.

6sat050732hrs: Back in a while…

0857hrs: I’m back, smelling nice too! Hehehe! Shave Shower with lemon soap, made a cuppa, took a photographicalisation out of the kitchen window and the fog and drizzle for you.

Checked on the vegetables, all okay.

Computer back on to update this dross then went on Facebook for a while, posted the top graphic and the one below on TFZ, hoping they like them.

n-shirleyThis one a sort of Spot the Wild Animals (12 of them), nd I asked which animal would they like to keep, and which one would they get rid of. For a bit of fun like.

Spent hours on Facebooking and enjoyed it.

Popping over to see Olive now, see if she had any jars to go to the bank or rubbish bags to take to the chute for her. Back soon I hope.

Olive was looking a lot better than of late. I collected some jars to go to the recycling bin in the morning with my jars and bottles. A chinwag and cuddle, her Grandson Malcolm is calling to see her tomorrow and bringing an office chair that she might not like, and if so, she will ask him to drop it off for me!

I returned to number 72. Coughing and all wrapped up, I must have looked like a pensioner from Dicken’s tales. Hehe!

Got in and dare not put the electric heater on again.

6sat06Got the fodder ready.

Had a vegetarian effort tonight. The rather costly M&S mushroom risotto, Crock-Pot vegetables, sliced boiled potatoes and potato cakes, followed with a lemon curd yoghourt.

I tackled the washing up, took the medications and found there were many programmes of interest for me to watch tonight.

Had some Snapeas later as I attempted to look at a ‘Yes, Prime Minister’ DVD before the TV proggies coming on.

I didn’t even get through the DVD before I’d drifted off, kept waking a few times with the coughing, then wide awake and with a massive thirst on me at 0130hrs.

Inchcock Today Friday 28th October 2016: Inefficacious computer problem solving again today, Humph!

5fri01

Friday 28th October 2016

In Welsh: Dydd Gwener 28 Hydref, 2016

Up and on the porcelain by 0405hrs, a bit of bleeding this morning (Haemorrhoids), but other ailment friends, Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna, Henry Hernia, Duo Denal and Roger Reflux were all being beneficent, benevolent and amiable to me. Even Little Inchy was no bother today.

5fri02Got the Crock-Pot going with the vegetables. Onions, parsnips, carrots, garden peas and tomatoes. I hope to get some mushrooms later to add to this mix.

Spent hours failing to get the computer sorted, I’ve got two new messengers coming up from HP that need urgent attention, it says.

I dare not do anything else before Sir Duncan comes on Sunday to have a look at it for me, bless his cotton socks.

Attempted to get the graphics imported to CorelDraw X8, again, with an astoundingly persistent 100%  failure rate. Huh! I think I am guilty of dereistic thinking if I hold out any hopes that I can get the CorelDraw working again?

More hours on Facebooking, glad to say it’s allowing me to post without any dispute at the moment. Many comments received, most heartwarming that.

I’m spending so much time trying to sort the CorelDraw X8 out, I’m not getting around to other things. Such is my desire to be able to create again from scratch.

Had a good ablution session and got down for the half-past L9 bus.

5fri03Took a photograph of one of the many construction surveyors on the site, this chap was between the bus stop and the Community Shed.

You’ll have noticed I made a bit of a Whoopsiedangleplop of taking this effort? Hehe.

The mode selector had moved yer see.

Ah-well!

whoopsI had intended to go to Arnold and Asda-Walmart to get the photographs printed from yesterday’s Social Hour – But, being as I got on the wrong bus again, I carried on into town. Nitwit!

5fri04No one to talk to on the bus.

Got off on Upper Parliament Street and took this photograph before walking up to the Aldi Store on Huntingdon Street.

There seems an absolutely amazing lack of people and traffic this afternoon?

Got in Aldi and got some of the seasoned small potatoes, and chestnut mushrooms at 55p, down from 99p.

Walked on, hobbling a bit now, because, where the chiropodist caught me toe twice with her electric trimmer was starting to sting a bit, onward to Tesco. Where I night add, I did not get any fresh cream horns at all whatsoever! (Mind you, they’d sold out) I found some Cheese & Potato Dumplings, though! Got a pack for tonight. Also got a pack of two Smoked Haddock fishcakes with cheese and leeks, I’ll have Crock-pot veg with these tonight methinks.

Had a hobble back to the bus stop. No one to talk to on this trip either.

Got in and a WRWW then turned the computer on, did a bit of Facebooking again, toyed at graphics but it was disappointing with not being able to import CDR and CPT files.

5fri04aA couple of hours later I called to see Olive. Now let’s be luculent about this, Olive may tell me off occasionally, but only when I deserve it.She told me off!

She told me off for taking her photographicalisation whilst her hair was not ‘Done’!

Back to tiny but loveable number 72.

5fri05Got the fishcakes in the oven, beetroot, fish sticks and beetroot on the plate ready.

Added the potato farls and dumplings into the oven with the cakes.

The smoked haddock fishcakes, in fact, everything tasted nice tonight.

Onto the computer to update this diary – and oh dear! Somehow I’d lost all I’d written and had to start again?

Much struggling to stay awake to watch the Goggle-box followed.

An odd day again.

Inchcock Today Tuesday 25th October 2016: Photographicalisationing once again, after a moody shot

1mon01

Last night’s Sun goes down and with it, my hopes of ever getting the new computer running correctly?

Tuesday 25th October 2016

In Malay: Selasa 25 Oktober 2016

Up and into the porcelain room by 0310hrs. WRHD, no bleeding, no pain and this was a good start to the day. Took the morning medications.

Remembered to do the laundry early. Got the coins, accoutrements and sprayed into the bag. Down to the laundry room and got the washer going on short cycle.

Up to the flat and tried to get the CorelDraw application changed to read and display CDR format on the files. Failed.

2tue02Down again to move the clothes into the dryer.

For some reason, the clothes were very wet, much more soaked than usual when I took them out?

Maybe I had overfilled the washer?

Up the lift back to number 72, made a cuppa. WRWW and tried again to get the CorelDRAW X8 reinstalled with options changed. Failed.

Started to update the diaries and overshot the time to go and gather the washing. Popped down to collect and clean the place a bit.

6sat01Wiped the surfaces, sprayed the freshener around and took the gear out of the dryer and folded them into the bag. As I was doing this, Roy from the 11th floor arrived to do his washing.

We had a god chinwag and a laugh, put the world to rights and a little mutual moan.

I went back up with my washing and returned down later to give him a photo I’d taken of him on the bus months ago and take the shot above right.

WRWW and had a bash to see if Facebook would allow me to use it. Amazing, apart from freezing twice and telling me that Google Chrome had run out of memory, please restart (Tsk!) it was okay, so I got caught up and enjoyed doing it. Just hope things stay this way for a bit longer.

Got ready, ablutions, etc. and got out to the bus stop for a ride into town and got some of the Surimi prawns from Waitrose and some Sour Dough bread from Tesco. And, if possible to get a moody photograph.

2tue04In town, I made my way to Tesco.

Battling limping through the maddening crowds and over the crossing, narrowly avoiding a Pavement Cyclist as he rode over Upper Parliament Street scooting in between and around the unconcerned pedestrians.

Through Victoria Centre (Mall) and got some stuff from Tesco. The most important being the Sour Dough Bread, I’ve actually taken to the taste of this now. Two loaves, one for the freezer. A TV paper, a jar of mushrooms in vinegar, Longlife milk, bacon rashers, cheddar cheese, seafood sticks, an individual beef pie and do you know, it might be hard to believe I understand this, well, it is hard to accept, but a box of two Fresh Cream French Horns fell into the shopping basket on the way around!

2tue10

2tue05Paid the ankle-snapper on the till, and made my way put and through some more crowds of Homo-Sapiens.

Arrived at the Waitrose store, but they had none of the Surami fish in stock for me, but never mind, I was feeling a tad guilty about keeping the Fresh Cream French Horn cakes that unexpectedly fell into my bag anyway. Ahem!

2tue06As the sun shone towards me, I took a photograph that I thought might be a moody one.

On Milton Street.

It didn’t turn out too bad do you think?.

I struggled up the hill into Trinity Square and checked the price of the American Jewellery Set I’d photographed the other day and put onto the TFZ site asking if any of the members could guess the value in US Dollars.

2tue07AS I turned at the top into the Square proper like, this chappie was puffing on one of the new electronic cigarettes, they don’t half give out some vapour, don’t they?

What next will they blame on E-Vapers. Global Warming?

If you look up both photographs, you’ll see a bloke in the distance smoking one as well. I had a nosey in one of the many Vapour shops in the area. It seems there are many different kinds or types of alternatives on offer. 2tue11Blooming fantastic for them I reckon. They even have electronic cigars and pipes too! I assume that the black box one is one that is charging up? They seem to have been taken too in Nottingham, and why not if they taste alright. The flavours are amazing in choice. Here’s just some of them on sale:

2tue12

Ribena, Lime & Lemon, Blackcurrant, Apple, Coffee, Banana, etc. they even have one here in tobacco flavour?

2tue08As I approached the bus stop on Queen Street, I got another shot in that might be considered a moody one?

Or maybe not, though.

Had a lovely chat with a lady at the bus stop, and we carried on on the bus for the whole journey, until she got off of course. Not only did I enjoy listening to her, but it helped to keep me from nodding off. Hehehe!

2tue09Took a photograph of the Community Hut/Shed from the bus as we passed it by. It won’t be there much longer, they tell me that is the first thing to get rebuilt in the modernisation procedure over the next three years.

Got in, WRWW, shoes off, kettle on, medications took, food stored away, and started the computer going. Waiting for it to boot up I nipped to see Olive, but she was not in, today must be her Scrabble day.

Got in, WRWW, shoes off, kettle on, medications took, food stored away, and started the computer going. Waiting for it to boot up I nipped to see Olive, but she was not in, today must be her Scrabble day.

CorelDraw and Windows took most of the next two hours up, without any progress being made. Still, I can’t view graphics before they load, and a lot of organising still needs to be done with the desktop, the printer I can’t get connected, and messages still appear now and then that can’t understand.

Decided to update this and get the photographs sorted, another two hours were gone.

Got the beef pie and potatoes in the oven cooking away, then I tried Facebooking again, fingers crossed. All going good, some lovely comments again.

Into the nightwear. Took the evening medications.

Went to check on the fodder – Humph! I’d not put the oven on!

2tue13Got the oven going then did a bit more Facebooking while it warmed up,

I am a silly old fool!

Beetroot, egg, garden peas, seasoned potatoes, mushrooms and a beef pie I punctured and poured delicious gravy into and then over the potatoes.

A tasty meal, although I made a right mess of the tray, my jammies and chin with the spilt gravy!

Cleaned the cooking pots and settled in the more than ever shaking £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV. Continual nodding-off sessions until 2100hrs when the film was starting, and into a deep dream-filled sleep; Didn’t even get beyond the introduction bit of the movie.

Tuesday 18th October 2016: To Bulwell today, using the Bus-Pass of course!

2tue02

Tuesday 18th October 2016

Terça-feira 18 de Outubro de 2016

Awakened with a start around 0200hrs. Been dreaming something about climbing mountains or hills with stops to climb down and get an ice-cream from a Stop-me-and-buy-one cyclist, who was a different person each time I climbed down. When  I got back up the ice-cream had melted so I went back down again for another? There were a lot more in the dreams, but no details available in my brain.

2tue03Decided that, as I was up so early, I’d get to the laundry room and sort the washing out. Out of the £300 second-hand wobbly recliner chair and a WRWW had to be done. Got the laundry assembled and off down to the foyer to get them started.

Back up to the apartment and brewed a mug of tea. Took the medications, not thinking what time it was, so early, so I’ll take tonight’s doses early too if I remember to, that is.

Got the laptop on, it was running a bit slow?

0345hrs: Down to move the clothes into the dryer machine. Someone had not cleaned out the filter on it again, Naughty!

Back up again, and got CorelDraw and WordPress loaded and made a start on graphics to use and the diaries. The hour soon passed, and it was time to return to the Woodthorpe Court Laundry Room and collect the things. Got them out, cleaned the filter and drum, back up for another WRWW. Sorted the 2tue06laundry things into their departments in the airing cupboard and on the hooks in the hallway. Hall, I say?

28″ wide, dim and some very handily designed Inchock Whoopsiedangleplop Dangers built into it, too. The front entry intercom situated thinkingly next to the Wetroom where, passing it, I frequently hit it with my shoulder and knock it off. The perfectly placed electrical box’s, designed for me to come into contact with around my head area. The shower power box on the right-hand side, flawlessly set at nose height to facilitate a more dangerous type of injuries and damage to spectacles. Bending down in this area can result in damage to one’s rear-end and concurrently cause bruising or bleeding to the head.

Just thought I’d mention it like. Hehe!

When I got back on the laptop, amid using three programmes simultaneously, the laptop froze! I waited a while, but nothing moved, so had to force close the machine. Gave it decent few minutes, then tried to start her up – but nothing happened… depression and disappointment and frustration overcame me at this stage. I turned everything off, went for a WRHD session.

Found out that the new Senna tablets are working well! Phwoar did they just!

Tried again to start the laptop up… very slowly it did start this time. I decided to see how I can turn on the touch-pad, so, while it was working, I did a search on Google and followed the instruction given. But, where they said the Model details would be, was just a Change word that did nothing when clicked on.

However, I  did discover that I had an Acer Intel Pentium(R) CPU N3540 @ 2.16GHz 1.15GHz. Whatever that means, but it looked good?

Slowly the laptop got up her speed, and things seemed to be okay, and are, up to now anyway.

0600hrs: Made another cuppa and the rain came down. hope it clears before I have to go out.

2tue05Emails perused and answered. Sent a photo of the measurements of the TV to Pete as requested.

So he might get an idea of what size would suit me bestest.

I measured the distance from the £300 second-hand recliner chair, it was about 8½ft.

Hand a bash on Facebooking for a while. Made and sent some greetings.

Cup of tea, well, a mug, then got into the wetroom for ablutionalisationing!

Called to see Olive, but no answer, might be her Scrabble Day?

2tue07Went down to the bus stop and noticed that the flowers some tenants had planted near the garages over the road, were still trying to battle through and blossom. Nature is marvellous.

Caught the L9 Bus town into town, then a number 17 bus out to Bulwell centre.

2tue08Bulwell Market was scarcely used, most folk there were passing by or through it. Not surprising, the stalls all looked bereft of any quality foods.

No rain at the moment, the sun coming through strongly, but without any heat with it?

Reminded me of the old Law & Order episodes.

Called in the Out-of-Date-but-Cheap shop. Not much in, but I got some Heinz Curried beans, 3 cans for £1.

Moved on to the Fulton Food Store, spent a bit there and filled the bag up. 2×10 Blackcurrant and Vanilla suckers, their last four packets of Roka 30% cheddar cheese sticks (The Tenants will love these as raffle prizes… I hope) and two cans of Stewed Steak in Gravy, t only £1 each. These I could use with the Yorkshire Puddings adding my own delicious gravy mix to it?

Then into the B&M store, in the vain hope of getting some of the cans of Goulash, but they didn’t have any.

2tue09So through the market and fed the mallards on the Leen river.

Fed the Mallards, but not many were interested in eating today? Most of them were near the far wall in the Lee to avoid the strong current, and or, escape the sunshine? Turned the hearing aids up to max to listen to their, to me, incredible quacking. But the traffic, swearing kids on the park and emergency vehicle sirens and klaxons took over.

2tue10Caught the tram, dropping off at Asda-Walmart on Hyson Green, to try and get some of the Nordic Style Bacon again. I was told they are no longer able to get the product! Could have cried, so delicious it was too! Got some Zywiecka, tomatoes, Lamb Hot Pot, TV paper and Polish Potato Dumplings. With heavy bags, I departed and caught the tram into town.

I don’t fall asleep on the trams you know, only the buses. Not surprising really, the seats are tiny, plastic, bendable, uncomfortable and when the tram goes over the line junctions, you can actually see people grabbing on to anything unmovable on an effort not to be unseated! Hehe!

Worked out brilliant with the timing as it happened, I hobbled from the tram stop over the road to the L9 bus stop on Queen Street, and the L9 arrived within a minute!

Bill, from the flats, got on and we had a farcical semi-conversation, neither of us really knowing what the other one was saying, guessing at what to reply to each other.

Glad he was on the bus, though, in case I nodded off and missed the Woodthorpe bus stop again. Hehe!2tue11

A lady reminded me of the meeting with the builders tomorrow at 0400hrs and said I should attend. The last one I went to was most embarrassing, couldn’t hear what anyone was saying.

Found a poster put through the door when I got back to 72. Another meeting had been called.

2tue12A WRWW, took the medications, made a brew, and got on with preparing the meal. Poached eggs, potatoes, quiche, beetroot, tomatoes and some Polish cooked ham. Got

Didn’t half take ages to get the washing up done, the poacher pan took the longest. All the utensils seemed to have got egg liquid, that didn’t want to be removed all over them.

Sister Jane and Olive had both warned me about this happening, and dead right they were too! Haha!

So tired after I cleaned up, but glad I’d got the laundry done early and out of the way.

Tried to watch the third Star Trek Movie. Pointless, more rewinding than watching, so I got my head down.

Inchcock Today Monday 10th October 2016 Laundry done early, Bus Pass used and odd dream

1mon01

Monday 10th October 2016

Stirred around 0255hrs: Odd dreams again. In a big queue getting pushed back each time I got near to the front? Thought I ought to get up now to do the laundry while machines should be free… Fell asleep again.

0405hrs: Up and out of the rickety £300 second-hand recliner chair, to the loo for a  WRWW, got the stuff ready for the laundry room, coins and powder, etc.

Got dressed and down and got the washing in the machine going in the laundry room.

Back up to the flat and into the Wetroom for a WRHD session. Again like yesterday, the blood flowed freely. I must keep an eye on this situation. A little discomforting. Got the kettle on, made a strong brew, took the medications and laptop on.

1mon02Down again on the lift, through the foyer and to the laundry room. The door on the right in this photograph here on the right like. I fink?

Moved the washing into the dryer.

Back up to the flat once more, another WRWW and back on the laptop starting an Ode for WordPress. Calling it “I’ve a feeling something is going to happen today?”

Calling it “I’ve a feeling something is going to happen today?” Although humour based, it is true in parts. Hehehe!

The hour soon passed, and I nipped down again to collect the clean clothes. Some naughty person had been down and used both washers at the same time! Tsk, unfair! Got the togs into the bag, cleaned the filter out, wiped the surfaces and sprayed some air freshener around.

Back up once more, and another WRWW session tended to.

Finished the Ode and got it posted, then updated this load of tosh. Did some more graphic creating for a while.

A quick bash on Facebook.

Then got the ablutionisationing done, and got ready to go out and get some fodder in, as I’m not ordering owt to be delivered this week… I get too much stuff in yer know! Hehe!

Set off down to the foyer, out and deposited the glass jars in the recycling 1mon03thingamabob. Called in the Community Shed and gave Deana and Julie some nibbles. To the bus stop, many tenants waiting for the bus, but not in a talkative mood today.

The sky at the back of the flats was photographable again this morning.

It was a bit nippy out there, mind you, it was in the apartment too.

Caught the L9 bus (I do love my Free Pensioners Bus Pass!), and was soon in the City Centre, dropping off on Upper Parliament Street.1mon04

I went into the Victoria Shopping Centre (Mall), and to the market to get the cashew nuts for nibbling. They had gone up in price again today! A few months ago they were 99p per 100gm, now they are £1.49! But it doesn’t bother me. Humph!

A bit of a fib there, sorry.

1mon05Nipped down a floor and to the end of the mall into Tesco and got some lamb, Boczek, and chicken thighs.

Paid the gal on the checkout, turned away and dropped the bag…

What a plonker!

Out onto Milton Street as an ambulance pulled up. I hobbled to have a look. No idea what had taken place but a young teenage lad was being tended to as he sat on a seat at a bus stop.

1mon06As I limped down to the slab square, there seemed to a lot of buses in the traffic jams?N

1mon07The Slan Square itself was being prepared for some special event.

I looked up what was going to occur when I got back home:

On Wednesday 12th October 2016, Nottingham will be hosting its biggest ever ULEV event at Nottingham’s Old Market Square with a number of manufacturers coming to display their newest models and to provide information and guidance to members of the public thinking of making the switch. Nottingham City Council is also proud to be launching their status as a ‘Go Ultra Low Company’ demonstrating the authority’s commitment to reduce our environmental impact by converting our fleet to ULEVs by 2020. Meet the Manufacturers! After reading this, I’m not a lot wiser really?

1mon08I took this shot on Long Row, of a Watson Fothergill designed building above the shops on the ground floor.

So pleasing to the eye and detailed without being gaudy?

The world famous Nottingham architect actually reversed his names as he matured, he was Christened, Fothergill Watson originally. Just thought I’d mention it like. Whatever, he was brilliant!1mon09

Caught the L9 back to the flats.

A bit of a hiatus en route, though.

Where the bus turns off of Porchester Road to go down Davis Street through the housing complex, a lorry was delivering waste skips to a building site just down the road a bit.

So the hour the journey usually takes took 90 minutes, much to the chagrin of some of the passengers and those that were eventually picked up on the way. Felt a bit sorry for the driver.

As I dropped off at the flats, a few tenants were waiting at the stop for the L8 to arrive. I greeted the with a cheery “Hello folks, a bit nippy this morning innit?” I didn’t get any replies? I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve done something wrong?

I called in to see Olive on the way back, she was not in a good mood again, curt, sharp? I hope she is okay, she said she was.

Got in and had a WRWW, went to make a brew, and decided to clean the Crock-Pot bowl – I dropped it on the floor as I went to empty the dredges of food left in it. Had to mop the floor, Huh! At least it didn’t break.

Put the fodder away and got the laptop on to update this.

Got the potatoes on the boil to have with my salad later.

Started Facebooking.

1mon11The sky is getting awfully dark now, and it is definitely going blooming colder here!

Took the medications and got the meal ready.

Had peruse of the book I’d been reading for months off and on now, entitled ‘The Qintinshill Conspiracy’. Heavy going this documentary tale and record of the worst Railway Crash ever in Great Britain and the farcical inquiries that followed.

1mon10The meal was ready, served it up and salivated while I ate it!

Chicken thighs, pickle pork pies, beetroot, boiled small potatoes, cheese, Marmite cheese, pickled egg, tomatoes, veggies (Mushrooms, peas, onions and carrots) and tomato. I dabbed Marmite on the potatoes, Mmm!) Followed by a banana and guiltily, a fresh cream French Horn. (Yes, I know, I didn’t mention this earlier, Tsk! Hehe) A rather excellent spread most enjoyed.

Watched some DVD, ‘Primeval’ then a bit of TV, mostly in ten minutes periods of wakefulness followed with ten minutes of nod offs.

Gave up, turned off the box, and seemed to go straight into a dream about my being chased again, around unknown villages and into a large factory, up stairs, around departments. This appeared to last for ages – when I woke, in need of a WRWW, I found only minutes had passed since I nodded off?

Carried out the WRWW and climbed back into the recliner chair and was soon off again into the land of nod and another dream. This time, I’m sure there were some of my ether friends in there. Were they putting make-up and decorating with icing on my bald head? I wish I could remember more.
