Inchcock Today Fri 20 May 2016: Long day. Visitation from Sister Jane and Pete – nice!

Thursday 20 May 2016

Awake at 0245hrs, no chance of nodding off again, the old brain was racing away. Off it went: What day is it? What needs doing today? Ah, Jane and Pete are coming to see me… I must get the laundry done early and out of the way. Might be getting a visit from the maintenance department before 1000hrs, must ring to find out what the INR dosage is now and I’d better get up and go to visit the porcelain now. Hehe!

04Laptop on and finished the Thursday article and posted it. Made a cuppa and took the medications, did the BP tests and recorded them. After which, I got the washing and accoutrements ready, then went as quietly as I could manage in the lift down to the laundry room. How time flies, it’s 0325hrs already.

Got the washer going on ‘Quick mode’ and back to the flat, laptop restarted and updated this post.

0405hrs, down to the washing room and moved the clobber into the dryer.

010425hrs: Back on the laptop after making a Whoopsiedangleplop with setting the dryer mode. Somehow I pressed for ‘Woolen Dry’ instead of ‘Cotton Dry’, fortunately, the cycle for the woollens was only four minutes. So I waited until it finished, luckily having plenty of 20p pieces with me, and set it again at the proper setting. It displayed ‘1 hour 1 minute to completion, then seconds later it changed to ’50 minutes to completion’? Back up to the flat and added to this page.

Doing this, I remembered Jane had sent me two photographs of herself with her musical hero Dave Berry. She had these taken at the Concert last week.

Jane DB Jane DB1Her exact witty words to me on sending the second one were:

“Attaching a dafter photo of me and my idol Dave – in awe, or wot!”

Luv Jane X

Jane DB2For a bit of fun, I found a photo from years ago and doctored it with Jane as she was.

Hehe!

Not changed at all has she?

After getting this far with the post, I got the washing bag nd went back down to the Laundry Room, creeping about as silently as I could, cause it is still only 0515hrs yer know.

Collected the gear from the laundry room, cleaned the filter and brushes, back to the flat and put away the clean washing, put some socks that are a bit tight in the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop bag and back on the laptop to this post, all by 0558hrs. Did this bit of the diary, now I have some time to titivate the flat.

Back in a while folks…

Well blow me down with a feather duster, the new Dyson cleaner packed up with a dead battery after 15 minutes of use! Humph! All I did was the front room carpet and some of the skirting board in the hallway. Grumph!

Janet and Pete arrived 1039hrs. We had a good chinwag, I gave them their bag of nibbles for themselves and the cats. Jane brought me some books from the Jumble sale she is a volunteer at. Everyone looks interesting too, bless her. All I need now is time to read them. Hehehe!

Made them a cuppa after they had taken a peek here and there in the flat, then Jane tried out the recliner chair. It didn’t play up when she was on it?

They were off on the 1139hr L9 bus, walked them to the bus-stop and Julie from the fourth floor got off and I walked her back to her flat.

P1080007The vegetable casserole was about done in the Crock-Pot, so I put some roast potatoes in the oven and will add some potato cakes to them later (If I remember – I did remember!).

I really enjoyed this effort. 9/10. I must remember the recipe and ingredients I used: Small potatoes, carrots, turnip, parsnip, red onions. Gravy from Bisto caramelised, Asda (Walmart) Vegetable granules and stock cube, splash of vinegar, oregano and rosemary. And in the Crock-Pot for seven and a half hours on low. Cooked roast potatoes added when serving.

Cleaned the pots then watched some TV until late (For me).

Felt in decent spirits as I drifted off.

Inchcock Today Thu 19 May 2016: Tenants Social Hour missed, but Some anacreontic moments shared

10

Thursday 19 May 2016

After getting off to sleep so early last night, I sparked into life this morning around 0255hrs, had to climb out of the recliner because the mechanism refused to perform the lowering motion. (Good start to the day!)

To the bathroom throne, a bit of bleeding but not much this morning. However, I did notice the usual blubbery mass hanging around my midriff was getting decidedly larger! Decided I must try to control my amandation for fattening foods.

Carried out the BP and other tests. Sys 155 Dia 69 Pul 69, seems alright. I put the record of these in the bag to show the nurse later.

I went to get the nibbles for the nurses, and… Dang dang dang DANG… I found the missing Alarm Wristlet! What a plonker!

Did some Facebooking. Ablutions carried out, nibbles for the nurses and Hut staff collected and set off to the Winwood Hut. Deana not there so I apologised to Julie, grovelled magnificently and gave her some nibbles. Then I set out on the walk to Dr Vindla’s surgery for the INR level tests.

P1070248Walking to the surgery I espied to this gentleman had parked on a one-way street, the right way, but on double yellow lines about 15ft from the T-junction with the main road.

Naughty boy!

He noticed me taking the shot and moved off.

Pressed on in the warm and un-windy conditions and the feet started giving me a lot of jip. Tsk! Still, the left knee was not as bad as yesterday.

Got in the surgery and settled to wait, reading me war book. It was the Obergruppenfurher Nurse on duty today again. She decided to take the blood from the other arm, and it hurt for the first time in years, and a feint trace of a smile came over her face. Bless her!

P1070249However, although she moaned about not having much time, she did look at the BP record and wrote down if the Sys is below 140, and the Dia is below 90 let them know. Which confused me a bit, cause the Dia has never been as high as 90? Gave her the nibbles, and made my way dangerously to the bus-stop to get one to Arnold. I say dangerously because of the two young ragamuffin Pavement cyclists that very nearly had me and a few other pedestrians with their weaving at speed through the crowds. By the time I got the camera out they were well away and mixed in the distance with the poor pedestrians.

In Arnold, I walked to Wilko and got some more of the Special Offer lavender Dettol and a packet of bath salts: I might not need these for long, though, with the shower conversion almost due?

Then to Asda to get the photographs printed and collect the pressie I ordered for a particular personage, of a mug with his photo on it. But… I could not print any pictures out due to the flaming SHCD or whatever its card, having been broken and lost the corner plastic and the machine would not read it.

Hey-ho! So I did some shopping, got carried away again, but most of the cost was on salad stuff as part of my new ‘Reduce-the-stomach-size campaign’. Hehe! I got: Fresh Bistro Salad pack, Tomatoes, radishes, potatoes, a turnip, carrots, beetroot cubes and red onions. I thought, that for tomorrow a vegetable casserole? Tonight a salad, with the chicken thighs I forgot to mention like?

Disappointed at being thwarted with the photograph mission, I made my way to the bus stop. Had a long wait, but the weather was beautiful. Interesting collision twixt two Vauxhall Corsas en route, but of course the camera had no card for me to record it.

Stayed awake for the journey to the flats (Just).

I got the veg prepared and into the Crock-pot, potatoes, carrots, parsnip, red onion, tomatoes, Oregano, basil, tomato puree and a splash of vinegar. I’ll see how that comes out tastewise.

Swapped the card from the other camera into the best one.

Laptop on and updated this, checked the emails: Sister Jane had sent one, providing she is feeling up to it, they will be calling to see me in the morning around 11 o’clock. Cheered me up a bit.

Then, BJ rang back, he had a great holiday in Ireland. Sounded a bit perkier the lad did.

P1080001Got the salad plate laid out, just added the potatoes and my lip were then smacking.

A strawberry (Small one of course, ahem!) trifle to follow.

Very enjoyable it was too.

Rated this as a good one. 9.3/10.

Watched some Hustle episodes again. I think this series is so entertaining and dryly humorous.

Nodded off early, that was nice for a change.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today Wed 18 May 16: Deana (Flats Coordinator) to the rescue!

01

Wednesday 18 May 2016

Up and out of my recliner (Working again) chair and to the ‘tinkle room’. Little Inchy bleeding just a tiny bit. Heavy duty passage was okay.

Remembered that Deana (Complex Coordinatoress) is coming today to sort out a replacement wrist alarm – oh dear!

Made a cuppa and took the medications, did the BP checks then got yesterday’s diary finished and did some graphicationalisationing.

A quick check on emails and Facebook then did the ablutions.

The drizzle started, it looks like it may be going to settle in.

After several hours spent searching in one last effort to find the lost alarm and no Deana arriving, I wrote a note on a stick it thingy, explaining I’d gone to see her and I would be back if she is not there, to adhere to the door when I left to do so. (But I forgot to stick it on the door, cause going out, I had to go back for my hearing aids, Huh!). Deana and Julie were in the hut. Deana had forgotten about the replacement alarm and had also forgotten to take it with her when she visited the flats earlier. I told her not to worry as I was an expert nowadays on forgetting and losing things. She said she’ll be up later. Hope she is not too late, cause I want to go and get some chips, bread and fresh vegetables.

Returned to the min-apartment and waited.

02Did some more graphicalisationing and emailed Sister Jane, then Deana arrived: She was in a rush, gave me a reprimand or two, instructed me to give her the Wristlet if I found it later. She set-up the new one, then gave me a friendly smile as she left.

I think she might have forgiven me?

P1070238It was starting to spit with rain again; however, I ventured out for a walk up and through the park into Sherwood. Not a single footpath cyclist was seen en route at all, whatsoever… none, I was almost shocked! Mind you, the rain might have had something to do with it?

I took a nice photograph from underneath the mini-umbrella as I started down the hill towards the shopping area.

The left knee started giving way from here on and for the rest of the day? With the right one, that is usually the worst of the two playing up, I began regretting not taking the walking stick with me, Tsk! But that would have been interesting fumbling with the stick, the brolly and the shopping bag. Haha!

I only went into the Co-op store to shop, because I had the money-off vouchers, £1 off frozen foods and 50p off when I spend over £5. The veg I wanted was not in a good condition, short dated and wrinkled like. However, they did have the Blitz kitchen towels on offer again, so I got a three-pack, a packet of vegetable crisps (Beetroot, carrots & parsnip), Wholemeal loaf, Low-fat Oven Chips (McCains – horrible and tasteless!) and some marshmallows on offer 50p off two bags.

The rain had all but stopped when I got out of the store and made my way limpingly back to and through Woodthorpe Grange Park and down to the flats. However…

04

P1070245Hobbling by the copse on the gravel path down to the flats, I came across some of these flowers in amongst the weeds, dandelions, daisies and buttercups I came across.Wondered what they were like?

Wondered what they were like?

The wildflowers there all looked beautiful.

When I arrived at Inchcock Towers, I did my best to clean the wet, mud and grass from the shoes. But still had to wash them in the sink with the scrubbing brush, then clean the sink P1070246and brush, and when I’d dried them best I could and went to put them near the door, where I found some mail had been delivered – the left knee gave a terrible twinge and gave way. Huh! Walking about like a poor cripple for an hour or so. If I get to see the ‘Nice’ nurse in the morning, I’ll mention it to her, see what he says. The pain doesn’t feel like the work of Arthur Itis?

Made a cuppa and took the medications, slipped one extra codeine phosphate in amongst them. It (the knee) eased off after a while and I felt only the usual Arthur Itis bother after. Seems that it is coming on only after I’ve been doing a bit of hobbling.

P1070247

Set to making the nosh, as was getting exhausted for some reason again.

Sliced up a large tomato, beetroot, beef slice, wholemeal bread partially buttered and the terrible oven chips (Eurgh!) followed by two small tubs of ice-cream.

Despite the tasteless chips, I ate it all up, though.

Washed the pots, then put the INR result sheet in my pocket for the mornings INR blood tests.

Watched some Hustle episodes from the DVD, but soon nodded off – blissfully.

Inchcock Today Tue 17 May 2016: Admonished or losing the Alarm Wristlet – Shamed!

10

Tuesday 17th May 2016

04

Not a bad night, gorrup still feeling tired at 0405hrs, the recliner chair refused to lower itself, so I climbed carefully out of it and made my way to the bathroom, the mind running like an express train. All sorts of things seemed to be trying to get my attention at the same time? The throne duties passed without any hiatus, although at first for a second I had some bother, then I remembered the beetroot I ate last night.

Made a brew and took the morning medications.

The mind still bubbling with turmoil in the background? The house and hopefully all the bills and payments were sorted and that should have cheered me.But the worry over the bathroom being turned into a wet-room and taking up to five days bothered me, The Warfarin level and extra test falling on my tenants meeting time? The bruising on the hand and wrist?

But the worry over silly things, were getting to me this morning, why?

Over the bathroom being turned into a wet-room and taking up to five days bothered me, The Warfarin level and extra test falling on my tenants meeting hour, I look forward to this every week? The new bruising on the hand and wrist?

I suppose the loosing of the alarm thingy should take precedence, I’ve still not informed anyone cause I can’t get to find them in the Community Hut? I was, still hoping to find it, but after yet another search earlier, I’ve resigned to my having lost it. I must call again to tell Deana or Julie and throw myself on their mercy!

I must call again to tell Deana or Julie and throw myself on their mercy!

Laptop on and did the diary and started this one. Then made some graphics to use on the TFZers Facebook page.

Did the ablutions, a bit of bother getting out of the bath again. Swapped the bin bags.

Got some empty jars for the recycling bin, shopping bag ready, checked I’d got bus-pass, spectacles, mobile, camera and crossword book in my bag, and set 0ff to take the bags to the refuse chute on my way to see Deana and or Julie at the Community hut.  Got about five foot from the door and returned to collect my hearing-aids.

Arrived at the shed, Julie was busy on the phone and Deana came in, also looking busy and I forced myself to explain to her about the Alarm wristlets catastrophic loss!

Within a few minutes, I was red-faced, admonished, embarrassed, ashamed, received notification that if it happens again, I will have to pay for any further replacements and a stiff clout around the ear-hole! (Only joking! About the stiff clout around the ear-hole that is!)

A wasp that had gained entry into Julie’s side of the hut – a brave but foolish manoeuvre on the part of the wasp, was despatched with great speed, aplomb and skill by Julie. I was greatly impressed indeed at her well-honed execution skills! (Merciless, but efficient she was! I was proud of her. Hehe!)

P1070229I departed, well chastised and dropped the beetroot jars in the recycling bin on my way up through the park and down into Sherwood to catch a bus into town.

I felt a surge of joy as I walked down the footpath in the park. The glorious fresh greenery and dogs happily on their walks, mothers and babies in the sunshine… and no Footpath Cyclists!

I caught a bus and someone stood up to let me sit in the front seat and they moved to one at the back of the bus. Nice that was!

P1070232The City was less busy than yesterday. However, the pavement Cyclists were still belting about.

Made my way to the bank and got some spending money out.

Walked to the M & S food hall and had a wander around, but didn’t buy anything.

P1070231Then on the way to Primark to see if they had any of the ‘Loose fitting’ underpants in stock, I fed some pigeons on the raised display near St Peter’s Church.

In the Primark shop, I wondered where so many people had come from. It was like an old-fashioned jumble sale, full of aggressive folk fighting for the reduced priced items? They didn’t have any of the things I wanted so I left without buying anything.

I called in the Poundland shop to see if they had any of the little plastic lidded pots in yet, but they hadn’t, so I left without buying anything again! (Doing well wasn’t I).

P1070234The legs were getting a bit bothersome and the right foot turned making it hard to balance, so I made my way to the L9 bus stop.

Called into the Spar shop on the way and got a hot bacon buttie, TV paper for next week, burger thins and beef slice.

Ate the buttie at the bus stop.

I could hear tannoy announcements coming from the Slab Square area and see people wandering toward the square. Couldn’t hear what was actually being said, though. Too tired to bother.

Caught the bus and had a natter with some passengers about leaving the Euro Zone. Which was good, because if I hadn’t, I’m sure I would have fallen asleep again on the bus. (Sad innit?).

P1070235Got in the flat and put some BBQ beans in a saucepan and sausages in the oven for nosh.

Had some burger thins with this and was soon falling asleep in the recliner, which incidentally, worked perfectly tonight?

But not for long! When I had to get up to go to the bathroom for me ablutions, I lowered the mechanism to get out of the chair okay.

When I returned, it was in the raised position? Or, had I got it wrong again? Did I lower it? I must have lowered it to get out surely!

I watched some DVD episodes of Hustle, nibbled some crisps and chocolates and fell asleep while doing so.

Hey-ho!

Inchcock Today Sun 15 2016: Ineptitude in abundance today

02

Sunday 15th May 2016

05After waking up agitated many times throughout the night and having fruitless searches for the Wrist Alarm, I finally got off to sleep around 0300hrs and had some odd dreams again. The first and the most memorable was (Sorry the graphic didn’t come out well, but you get the idea?) about me in a room with floorboards with a hole neatly cut out of them. And, below was a blue ocean with a speedboat that was attached to the end of my green oven glove and I was attempting to tug it free? The second one I recall, I was in a delivery van I drove many, many years ago and had lost my shoes and could not reach the pedals? Odd?

Around 0330hrs, I sprang awake, again in need of the Throne and again, it was painful. Although feeling tired, I decided to stay up and have what turned out to be another futile search for the Wrist Alarm that went missing in action yesterday. Not feeling comfortable at all with this losing and forgetting things lately.

Got the kettle on and made a cuppa, took the medications and got the laptop on to do the diaries.

The sun was out early (0525hrs) when noises from somewhere I could not identify started off, a bit like drilling and gurgling? Not often this happens.

09

Made another cuppa and a pot of porridge.

A nicely prospective day, coming perhaps?

It looked likely from the kitchen window around 0630hrs.

Checked the emails: Loads of junk over the last two day.

10Checked out Facebook. WordPressed a little, then made yet another brew in the small mug that is new, see, a poet I am, I tell you. Hehe!

05Decided to do some cleaning today.

Despite not feeling too good, as a self-punishment for losing the Wristlet alarm and not being able to find it. So I got the togs and set about doing the laundry. While the washing machine worked, I took some bottle to the bank at the end of the road, and three bags of rubbish to the chute. Then moved the washing into the laundry room dryer, having a little chinwag with a couple of tenants.

08Back up on the lift to update this, and got the window cleaning gear out ready to tackle them later. Then down to collect the dried clothes. Another little gossip. And then back up to he apartment.

Put away the clobber in the airing cupboard.

Still irritated with myself, I set about doing the flat windows. Did the outside of the living room first. The main result were:

  1. 07I nearly fell off the step ladder several times.
  2. I used liquid soda first off, thinking it was the window cleaning spray, and it took ages to get it off and start again.
  3. I trapped my right thumb between the door and railing when it blew open and I tried to stop them colliding like.
  4. Used three rolls of paper towels and all the Asda window cleaner spray and had to use the Morrison one too.
  5. Moved on to the kitchen windows, trapping forefinger in the release mechanism.
  6. The window flaked of rust and grime as I opened it and cleaning it up off of the ledge and floor caused the back to start off.
  7. Took a photograph of the cleaned windows fro a distance to avoid you seeing the fact that in the living room ones, I had appeared to just moved the smears around as opposed to getting rid of them. Hump!
  8. Got the living room and hall carpeting vacuumed with the Dyson and did just outside the door too… Huh! The dirt box filled up in seconds.
  9. Emptying the dirt box out into the bin lined waste bin and missed it! Grrr!

Felt so knackered then, I gave up trying to do any more housework and seasoned a tin of tomatoes then into the saucepan, to have with the remaining cooked belly pork later.

Got the laptop on to update this as the back pains got worse.

Also, I had failed to assuage or mitigate the guilt of losing the alarm wristlet, as I didn’t finish doing all of the windows in the living room, missed off two of the inside ones. How did I miss these? Incompetency? Stupidity? Banality? Or sheer deterioration of bodily and mental functions?

Did another pointless search for the alarm wristlet.

P1070211Weary, drained and depressed, I had the quick and easy meal of tomatoes and the remainder of the pork.

Despite my feelings of remorse and lack of confidence, I really enjoyed this.

I thought that Sister Janet and Pete would have enjoyed the belly pork. Wondered if I could take some for them to enjoy. They are very busy, though, and I’m in the same pickle. The pot of mandarins in jelly to follow was low-calorie, but not very nice. A bit bland.

Watched some of the old Hustle episodes from a DVD, and managed to enjoy them for the short time I managed to stay awake. Hehe!

Inchcock Today Mon 16 May 2016: Hectic Day

01

Monday 16th, 2016

02I sprang into life with such a jerk, I almost fell out of the chair! Within seconds, the instantly rememberable bits of the dream I’d been having evaporated and the need for a visit to the bathroom throne became apparent to me, along with the warm wet sensation of the leaking blood from the lower regions.

As I made my way to the porcelain the feeling of guilt and my incompetency at losing the alarm wristlet joined in with the other emotions rampant this morning (0255hrs) as I mounted the throne. Painfully I relieved myself then cleaned up myself and placed the jammy bottoms to soak in disinfectant. Then cleaned up Little Inchy and creamed the lesion area. Tsk!

As I left the bathroom to go to the kitchen (All of five/six paces), the dizzies started. Used the wall to steady my balance and it was all over in about a minute? Put the kettle on and got the laptop on to start this post off, made the brew and took the medications (Not realising it was so early like).

As I loaded CorelDraw, an update came in, so I downloaded it and went to make another cuppa while waiting for it to load.

Noticed the state of the kitchen floor near the cupboard door, bravely I got a microfibre cloth, down on the knees and wiped the muck up. I was impressed with how the micro fibre sheet picked up so much dirt easily without using any cleaning agents – then the getting back up caused a hiatus and a little pain. Made worse, by my not having the wristlet alarm I’d lost the other day to use if I fall or slip in my efforts to get back up. Huh, Depression and self-loathing returned. I only tended to patch on the floor at one end of the kitchen, then returned with my fresh cuppa to the laptop to find the CorelDraw download completed, no idea what it downloaded, it just said: “Downloads were added in response to customer requests”?

Anyway, Coreldraw worked okay as I got the top graphic done.

Time for a think before I started writing:

  • Yesterday when in the laundry room and gossiping, Frank told me that Deana was away for today at another complex. So I won’t be able to report the lost alarm to her, will I?
  • How do I get in touch with Steve Age UK councillor who said he was going to get back to see me last week but didn’t, he seems to have made a point of not giving me his mobile number or email address?
  • I’d love to get to see Sister Jane and take the pressies to her, but she is so busy (Galavanting mostly, Hehe!) and with me having so many things to get done or going wrong, will I ever get to see her again! Haha!
  • Must remember the INR blood test today at 11.15hrs.

From how I felt an hour and a half ago when I got up, things seemed to be settling now. Little Inchy is no longer leaking, the back passage has calmed down nicely and even Anne Gyna has eased off. The usual pains in the knees, ankles, hands and right wrist/arm are easy and calm. I wish my mind were as calm. Hehe!

Made a start on the funny rhyming post about my search for the Alarm Wristlet, but could not concentrate, did a bit on it, mind.

Did a bit of Facebooking then got the nibbles and things ready for the GP surgery.

Carried out the ablutions. Then took the rubbish bags to the chute as I set off, on the days missions. Called at the Community Hut on the way to advise Julie of the Alarm Wristlet situation, but she wasn’t in.

P1070217Onwards down Winchester Hill and up into Carrington and down to the GP surgery.

Observed yet another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist on Mansfield Road as I neared the doctors surgery for the INR Warfarin blood test at Sheringham Park.

The little monkey!

Had a good read of the Holocaust book while waiting, and soon got tended to. Left the nibbles and caught the bus to the clinic. A bit of an embarrassment there, trainee doctors came to the examination. Red faced I left and caught the bus into town.

P1070218Dropped off and waddled into Tesco in Victoria Centre (Mall) and spent some money. I got a ready-made sandwich, chicken portions and potato cakes.

Then to the end of the centre, had a walk through the market buying nothing, but did notice the for hire for £3 kids push cars on my way to Boots the Chemist superstore. I had a look to see if they had any 31-day medication dispensing pots on sale, but could not find any, and the queues were gargantuan. Still, I got some St Peters Wort tablets after a lengthy wait to pay for them.

P1070222Busy, as I came out of the shop, I got a phone call. I thought it might be Steve Age UK, now titled Powher. But it was a Nottingham City Council chap wanting to come see te bathroom to measure and check it over. I told him I’d be there in about two hours.

Over the road and to the Pound Shop. More spending. Oven tray, Cadbury Cookies (2 or £1) and a bag of Strawberry Chamalous.

Wandered around a while until the L9 bus was due, took a photo or two for the TFZ Facebook page, clandestinely fed a pigeon or two, then caught the bus back to the flats.

P1070223 P1070225

When I get the time, I’ve an idea for doctoring the first one for them.

Back at Woodthorpe Court, I tried the Community Hut door, but it was locked. Julie is on her own today as they have used Deana at another site.

Up to the flat and I got another call, thought this might be the Nottingham City Homes man, but it was Steve of PowHer, he’s coming to see me so he can finalise the standing orders for the old place.

Put the bits away and got the laptop on, when the NCH man did arrive. Nice chap, we had a chinwag as he measured up. He told me it would be 4 or 5-day job, and men would need access throughout. Also, he confirmed that they would be making it into a Wet-room. I forgot to ask him how I go on with having no toilet to use. Humph!

I thanked him as he told me it would be two or three weeks and he would contact me with a date later.

Off he went, and Steve of Powher arrived and sorted or confirmed the electricity, gas, water Rates and Council Tax, then the house insurance, using the internet on the laptop. Then phoned the Budget insurance about the old house. I am to get  £40 charge for cancelling it, and a refund of £15. The phone call will probably have cost me more than that! Thanks to the increase from Virgin.

Amazingly he gave me his phone number before he told me he had now finished as my advocate. However, if I did have any more problems I was allowed to ring the PowHer, and he gave me their 0300 number. He mentioned that we have got a lot done and advanced well. I could not help but say the Untied Carpet farce, the solicitors taking 11 months to sell the house, my not being able to contact him and he was not happy! Hehe! I thanked him for his help. He’s a nice bloke, even if he did leave marks from his shoe on my 1959 polished cabinet.

Off he went.

P1070226I started to get this updated, then got the sandwiches and chicken and added some beetroot to them, and dined regally, but still worried about losing the wristlet, however, contended that hopefully, all the problems with and about the old house were now history!

I got the medications ready to take the evening doses, just as I got a  telephone call from the Anticoagulation Team at the Queens Medical Centre, the Warfarin level from today’s test were far too high. They gave me instructions not to take any Warfarin tonight, then 2 on Tuesday and Wednesday and I must make an appointment for an extra test for Thursday with the surgery. I thanked them.

Very short notice for me to get into the surgery, I feared I’d have to go all the way to the QMC to get it done. So I called Sheringham Park and they made a slot for me on Thursday at 1005hrs.

I thanked them, then realised it was the same time as the Winwood Hut Tenants Social Hour! Ah-well.

I soon nodded of tonight.

Inchcock Today Tue 10 May 2016: Flat bound again!

Tuesday 10th May 2016

01Slept better last night and woke up feeling the knees were so much better stiffness wise.

I assumed this would have been through using the new second-hand recliner I purchased yesterday from the bloke in flat 48 at Winchester Court? The pressure on the back of the knees was without doubt far less, and this cheered me up no end.

02I nimbly (For me like) got up and to the bathroom.

Oh dear, the knees felt so much easier, but Arthur Itis had decided that today would be an imitation of Charlie Chaplin day for me. Hehe!

Haem Aroids was bleeding away and sore and Little Inchy was joining in too! And, the passing on the throne was really painful. But I was still elated at the knees feeling so… well, good, that I didn’t mind at all!

04I prepared the vegetables and seasoned them in the Crock-pot slow cooker. Just turnip, onions and carrots this time.

Got them slow-slow cooking.

Next, I made a cuppa and took the medications as I started the laptop to finish off the Monday post.

07Made a start on this one, doing the photographic touch-ups needed.

I remembered that Steve Age UK said he would call today to try and finish off the cancelling of Standing Orders for the old house.

I wondered why I’d written, ‘Stay-in’ on my paper diary for today.

We’ll see.

Facebook let me post again today. So I got caught up with the TFZer site, checked the emails and sent a photo of the new chair to Sister Jane and Pete.

I’ll have to stay in today, for when Steve Age UK arrives, but the wet drizzle outside is not encouraging to venture far anyway.

I rang Sister Jane to see how she was going. She seemed in good spirits. Some mail was delivered: One for previous tenant Magaret, three of bumph and one from the Cancer Treatment Centre. I’m going to have weekly checks before the cutting out session they have arranged for Tuesday, August 16th at 1515 > 1645hrs. They are to inform me of the day and times in a few days.

LyntGCThe rain is persisting still, not heavy mind, sometimes just spotting.

I did a graphic of my friend Lynton Cox and posted it on Facebook as a caption competition.

No sign or message from Steve Age UK yet.

I am surprised.

08

Had to turn off the Crock-Pot or the stew come casserole would have been too well done. Didn’t want to start to eat it and Steve Arrive and for it be wasted.

Steve did not arrive. Obviously, I’d got the day wrong – but with him not giving me his new phone number or email, I could not get in touch with him to find out the correct ay and time of his visit.

A tad dejected I got the vegetable stew served up and ate it with some Irish Batch bread.

Tried to watch some TV, but kept nodding off so got my head down with relative ease tonight.

Inchcock Today Wed 11 May 2016: Malapropism ridden day

02

Wednesday 11th May 2016

01Kept waking during the night, unwilling to get up and that’s not me usually. Eventually around 0515 hrs, I lowered the chair (Thought I’d mention my new second-hand recliner again) and visited the porcelain throne. Performing the required motions was so painful again this morning, yet no bleeding from Haem Aroids or Little Inchy?

Made a brew and took an Entrolax pill with the usual medications, got the laptop on and finished the Tuesday diary. Somehow, I could not find the photograph of last night’s fodder, the vegetable stew in the camera? Mmm!

Did the graphics for today’s headers.

Started this page off and had a quick blast on Facebook to see if it would let me like! It did, hurrah!

P1070172Got the ablutions seen to and ready for a trip into town.

A decent conglomeration of tenants at the bus stop this morning. But I was the only one who got on the City bound L9 bus… either that or my lavender soap isn’t making it.

Hehe!

The rain started again on the way, and when I arrived it the city I nipped onto the pound shop to get an umbrella, cause I forgot to put mine in the bag, Tsk! But they had sold out with the downpours of recent days.

002Elite2

I had planned to take some photographs of certain areas of Nottingham to compare with the same shots years ago. But being as I’d left the notes of the areas in y dressing gown pocket and could not remember, apart from one, which areas I was going to photographicalise, I didn’t like. Humph again! I’ll post this one above on the Nottingham Now & Then site on Facebook later. (He say’s confident that he’ll remember to… Mmm) I cut down the new photo to try and match the ratio with the old one from… I don’t know when?

P1070173The Nottingham Pavement Cyclist were out in number again today. Bought the Nottingham Post.

Couldn’t risk taking too many photographs due to the heavy rain like, if yer know worra mean?

And me without a brolly too!

I had a waddle around and called in the pound Shop, where I bought some 07bits, well,  a lot of bits.

Nibbles for the tenant hour tomorrow, notepads, pens and treated me to a 20×2 biscuits pack of the caramelised biscuits, very nice they are too, especially at £1 a pack!

Great with a nice strong cup of jolly old tea yer know.

P1070175Made my way to the L9 bus stop, slipping some seeds to the pigeons en route.

The rain came a bit heavier then.

The folk who got on the bus all seemed a little miffed and unhappy, the weather I supposed.

I wish I’d taken the photographicalisation I did through the bus window a few seconds later. Then I might have caught a shot of the poor lad rushing over the crossing as her umbrella blew inside out.

P1070177As I passed the end of Clumber Street the rain had reduced the usual numbers of folks gadding about.

Mind you, they still need their coffee don’t they?

The journey back to the Woodthorpe Court flats was strangely bereft of gossip and laughter?

As the bus pulled up at the flats, I realised I’d forgotten to go and pick up the prescriptions. Well, fancy that me, forgetting something! I can call tomorrow if I go early enough because I think maybe Steve Age UK councillor might be calling about sorting the bank stuff out. Then again? Oh, no: The Morrisons delivery is coming then the Social Hour… oh dear!

Got the bits away, WC’d and got the laptop on graphicalisationing, Facebooked a bit, then got this updated and did the Newspaper funny post.

P1070188Nice meal apart from the Asda (Walmart) BBQ sausages, they were a bit of a let down tastewise.

Terrible!

Still, rated it at 8.2/10 for the rest of it like.

The potato cakes were grand.

The new second-hand Recliner began slipping just a bit as I was sat in it? Jerking perhaps a better word? Humph!

Inchcock Today Sun 8 May 2016: Flat-Bound and had a deep-thought… Oh yes!

Sunday 8 May 2016

02 Griz

I stirred into mock-life late again (For me like) this morning at 0525hrs.

A bit concernedly, there was no call to porcelain throne again, I thought that problem was sorting itself out, but no. Hehe! Still, the waterworks were working well enough if not too well today.

P1070155Hobbled into the kitchen to made a cuppa and take the medications and as I perused the landscape outside, saw through the light mist that a Pedestrian Footpath Cyclist had, I assumed fallen asleep on the bench, his bicycle on the floor nearby.

Odd hour for them to be about, no one else was.

I’ll have another look in a bit see if the ‘Swine’ is alright like.

Laptop on and finished Sunday post… no Saturday post. Then got on with doing more of the graphics I intend to use later, in fact, spent many hours, and still I haven’t gotten them like I wanted them to be.

P1070157Back into the kitchen to make another cup of tea, and to my surprise the bloke was still there on the bench, he’d moved position though from earlier on.

Whoopsiedangleplop number one then:

I took the tea into the living room and somehow managed, without almost any effort, to drop it on the new carpet!

I swore a little. Then tried to clean it up and ended up with the back giving me no end of gip in thanks now. Huh!

P1070156After another hour or so on the laptop, (still can’t get it right) I remembered the bloke on the bench and went to check again on him.

Two girls of the female species tried to rouse him without any luck, they were soon off.

Maybe he stank of drugs or booze perhaps?

I got some chips in the oven and peas warming in the saucepan, to have with the Krakowska cooked meat.

By gum the time had shot by this morning, well it’s well into the afternoon now.

I had a final glance out of the window and the chap had gone.

P1070158Got the fodder ready and watched a DVD while I consumed it.

Seasoned chips, Krakowska pork, beetroots, and demerara sweetened garden peas, followed by a lemon dessert.

Excellent! Rated this on at 9.2/10

I felt the day had been affected by my inefficacious efforts to understand life. (By gum, that was a deep thought for me!)

Once more, sleep did not come easily, even though I felt tired enough to? Sessions of falling off for a few seconds were rampant.

Still, there were two films on that I watched with a few nod-offs causing me to miss bit important parts of the films. Tsk!

I had a thought and wrote it down on one of my many waking periods;

“I seek Sanity and Peace, but no one has this, so I’ll stop looking!” Hehe!

Inchcock Today Sat 7 May 16: All going well until I got on the wrong bus… Humph!

Saturday 7 May 2016

08

The view from the kitchen window was a beauty to behold, I had to take photographicalisation of it. The thin gently rolling mist, the lack of people and the changing thickness of the vapour from the mist was amazing. Shame it doesn’t show up in the photo.

Woke up around 0440hrs: So tired. Didn’t manage to lift my body up out of my vintage 1959 brown imitation leather armchair with the broken arms for another hour or so, kept drifting back into half-sleep. And then it was more in response to my need of the porcelain than any actual willingness to move. Hehe!

And what an event that was! Talk about pain and blood, Huh! Haem Aroids were rampant in their desire to leak blood all over the bowl, me and the floor! I swore, cleaned up, and went to make a cuppa and get the medications taken.

Took the medications and got the laptop on to finish the Friday diary. Yesterday seemed like a dream, not a bad one at all, just that my memory had faded so fast – good job I got it down last night. I checked on the Google Calendar for jobs next week – remarkably clear compared to last weeks.

04

No INR blood tests so that helps, and I await the appointment from the skin cancer Treatment Centre and re-appointment at the GUM clinic, but I can’t help thinking I’ve missed something off? Horrible feeling!

Got on with starting a funny ode post with graphics idea for WordPress, looks like it will take a while due to my brain not fully in conjunction with fingers this morning.

Ablutions then set off on the bus, to Arnold.

02

04Dropped off on High Street and called at the Estate Agents in Arnold and asked about the house for sale on Blake Road for brother-in-law Pete.

It had already had many offers and had been sold very quickly.

Later I did a search on Zoopla and found some photos and detail. Rang Pete to tell him the price etc, then emailed him the photographs in the morning.

07Crossed over the road and took a look at the high chairs in the Arnold Sofas & Beds Centre.

They didn’t have any in that really appealed to me mind, despite there being a great range of them on show.

They ranged from £299 to £699. The gentleman was very pushy and over friendly. I asked him (As instructed to earlier by Sister Jane) could they take away the old one and how much would it cost. He was very vague and suggested I give it to a charity shop. Then I asked what the delivery charge would be, he became even vaguer just said he’d look after me? Mmm!

I then hobbled to the bus stop to catch a bus to town. When I arrived at the stop a bus marked City arrived, so I mounted it. It soon became clear, that this was not the bus I thought it was, as it meandered all through the housing estates and ended up in Bulwell on its circular route to the City Centre. So, realising we were approaching Bulwell, I decided to alight the bus go in search of the cheapo shops bargains and feed the ducks on the Leen River while there.

P1070145I limped to the Bargain shop and got a some Blitz kitchen towels and meal worms for the ducks and pigeons.

Then into Bulwell Market and to the Fulton Store in search of food bargains.

Got a pack of sausages very cheap and some Polish cooked ham.

P1070146Then back through the market, avoiding the perishing Bulwell Pavement Cyclists as best as I could.I hobbled to the river to feed the ducks.

Hobbled to the river to feed the ducks.

Not many about today, but plenty of pigeons to nibble the seeds and earthworm pellets.

P1070147Up to cath the Nottingham tram at the station.Tram

It was well full as it arrived, and I lost most of the shoulder charging and pushing contests.

I did manage to get on last in the battle against the aggressive Bulwell populace in competing to ensure each get on the tram before the other. I was a little surprised there were no injuries, least of all to me! Hehe!

I had a bit of a battle to get off the tram at the Theatre Royal stop, only just getting off it time having to force y way through the standing passengers who had no seat.

P1070150I got to the bus stops on Queen Street, the L9s had stopped running and the next 40 bus was no due for half an hour, so I had a wobble through the Slab Square.

The female populace was obviously in training for summer show-off time.

Not that I noticed really. (Ahem)

P1070149Som folks were listening to a bloke on a microphone making fart-like musical noises that were supposed to imitate music I think?

Still, the weather was nice and for once I could not see any Pavement Cyclists?

Back up to the bus stop and got on hte 40 one, and we were soon off.

P1070151 P1070152

As we passed the end of Clumber Street, I had the camera out and took two photographs through the bus window, of the Nottinghamians crossing the road, as is their usual habit, against the lights.

Somehow, I stayed awake through the whole journey, mind you, having a Derby Demolition fan as bus driver helped me out there.

Dropped off, well almost fell off the bus after my struggle to keep on my feet to get to the door as the driver jammed on his anchors (Tsk) at the stop. Crossing the road was the usual high-risk task, but I managed it without any hiatus. Walked to the flats in glorious sunshine.

WC’d put the kettle on and fodder away, all but the sausages.

P1070153Made sausage sarnies with mushrooms and beetroot, followed by two pots of desserts. Well!

The sausages were absolute rubbish! So, only a rating of 4/10 for this poor effort.

Fatigue dawned again, and all I could do then was sit in the 1950’s built damaged imitation leather armchair and try for all I was worth to nod-off. Bit of a battle for some reason again, tired as I felt, sleep was a long time coming tonight. Huh!
