DSC00010

0314hrs With the other camera taken from the kitchen window – not very good I’m afraid – reflections

I didn’t get to sleep till gone midnight – and was up porcelain visiting and wide awake at 0315hrs. Still fretting about things. Huh!

All uptight about not getting the old place sorted. May make some progress with the carpets today I hope when Glenora gets here?

Still got some dreams in as I remember:

0706I was in what looked like a classroom and people were lining up to give me the cane, or rather I was going along a line of people and each gave me the cane, some on me bum others on me hands, until I got to one mistress who reminded me, or does now, of Dame Margaret Rutherford – told me I had to go to Pimlico and help the fishmonger as a punishment for going bankrupt? I assume this was inspired by the Passport to Pimlico film?

Made a cuppa and laptop on.

Took medications with me second cuppa.

Had a scrub-up teggies and shave. No bleeding this morning from ‘Little Inch’ or the haemorrhoids either!

DSC00012Facebooked a bit and started to sort me medication pots out.

I wonder why me right hearing-aid plastic put-in piece has gone and turned an horrible brown, and the left one ain’t? – Have I been forgetting to clean me right ear?

Hehe!

Cleaned up around the cupboards now they have been mended – Paul the Painter left plenty of deposits bless him.

Glendora arrived, not in a good mood. She will not be coming again after today, kids on holiday like.

She phoned the Carpet shop and arranged for them to come next Tuesday. She tried to contact the Gas people to cancel it at the old address but we could not make contact with the right number? She was soon off. Nice lady.

IMG_0079I did some shredding and got missen ready to go to the carpet shop to pick me colours.

Set off out of the flats and up the hill into Woodthorpe Park.

Top of the hill walking down to Mansfield Road a git of a pavement cyclist nearly had me over as he belted IMG_0080along in the opposite direction.

Couldn’t get me camera out in time to catch the Swine!

Down to the gates and turned right and wobbled along on the way to Daybrook and the Allied carpet shop.

Feet beginning to hurt already, the IMG_0081angina was playing up too.

Feeling a bit down this morning – worried about how I’m going to get the old place sorted and sold before I run out of money.

Along and passed the tennis courts and into Daybrook itself – A dour place, devoid of etiquette and compassion.

IMG_0083Blimey, did I say that?

Not a lot of traffic about this morning.

Then another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist came close to clobbering me – I’m getting fed-up with these antisocial uncaring nihilistic nerds!

Quarter of a mile further on I crossed IMG_0085the rod to be on the carpet shop side and blow me down – another neolithic nasty Nottingham Pavement Cyclist on his phone texting as he wobbled by me from behind near the bus stop.

You can see the red sign outside the store in this photographicalisation.

Went in the store, but there was only one bloke on and three customers in the store for him to serve.

I wandered around looking at the lower-priced end of the carpets they had, and saw at the back some single beds with firm mattresses.

I was getting weary now and decided the poor chap ain’t going to get round to me for a while yet, so walked over the road to have a look in the Carpet Right store – boy were expensive!

So I plodded back to Allied carpets and the man was available. Nice chap, a good con artist I thought.

Any-road, I picked some carpet out, not in the least what colour I wanted, but needs must. He or someone, is going to call on Tuesday to measure and price me up.

Then I hobbled into Arnold to get some cheese as I planned to do some cheesey potatoes in the oven later.

IMG_0087What a fool, I was in agony wiv me feet and knees – Dumbo!

Going along steadily I was nearly hit by yet another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist!

I was frustrated now and turned shouted and photographed him – I wish IMG_0088I could have shot him with something else!

A hundred yards further on and a pavement skateboarder and youth on a tiny bike passed me one on each side – the little gits!

Although they weren’t little.

Got safely (I don’t know how) to the Fulton food store and got me pack of cheese, then made me way to the L9 bus stop cause knew it was about due.

IMG_0089When it came, the three ladies at the bus stop were nattering and I stepped forward to signal the bus to stop and asked them if they wanted this bus. They laughed and thanked me cause they were carried away in conversation and could have missed it. I said they could keep an eye on me to make sure I didn’t nod-off on the bus.

IMG_0090When they got off in Bestwood one of them shook me shoulder and asked if I was still awake. Bless em, that cheered me up a bit.

Called in at the Community Shed and the two wardens were there, the Obergruppenfurher and Deana.

Had a laugh for a bit and Deana said for me to call her on Tuesday when the Carpet man arrives and she would come to advise me.

I got in and WC’d and had a little fretting time over whether or not I’d done right over the Carpets.

0704Then I set about making the meal I’d waited so long to do, and I haven’t been able to until I got the new stove/cooker in and working.

Baked Cheesey Potatoes!

Put the potatoes in the oven and did some updating while they cooked.

Took them out, only burning myself once at this stage I might add.

Cut em in half and scraped out the flesh into a bowl and added a bit of butter, salt, black pepper a sprinkling of vinegar and bashed the all up for ages. Then refilled the skins and rang a fork over them to make ridges so they will burn and crisp a bit on top.

Back in the oven with top heat only on, for them to brown off.

Second burn acquired here on the oven-tray. Tsk!

Had it with garden peas and smoked Polish mini-sausages. It were fantastic! Rated 9/10.

It took me ages to get the things cleaned up afterwards – but worth it, even if I did scold missen in the process.

I’m still not used to the hot and cold taps in the kitchen being the wrong way around Huh!

Fatigue dawned quickly, took me medications and I had to get me head down.

TTFN folks taketh care…

Tue 21 July: 2015 Inchcock Today: BJ to the rescue… again!

Tuesday 21st July 2015

01topa

0540hrs: Woke and dashed to the porcelain.

Horrible memory of horrible dreams. I ran out of money and was evicted from the flat! This dream was the only one I’ve ever had that scared me!

01topa2Made a cuppa took me medications.

The cupboard in the kitchen was usable now the repair chappy had sorted me out.

I think I’d overdone it in the cleaning supplies department though… don’t you?

Took these photographs with me other Sony camera to get used to it. Still not working out what all the options are or how to turn the on or off. Sad innit?

Got a bath and shave, me togs on ready to go to the doctors for me INR level blood tests.

Caught the bus to the bottom of the hill and walked into Carrington.

Called to see BJ in the launderette. He said go to the GP and let him know what time the appointment was for – I’d got a bit mixed up and got 1100hrs on me diary and 1045hrs on me written note?

Walked to the surgery and found out it was for 1115hrs?

Walked back and told him. He thought we had time to get to Asda and back by then and gave me a lift to the store.

Thanked him.

IMG_0076I got me bits, potatoes, cooked meats and bread and waited patiently as he came through the checkout after me.

I thought we’d be late by then for me appointment. Had a nasty dizzy spell.

BJ proved me wrong as we arrived dead on time and he waited for me. the it

The nurse took me blood and I told her about the itching under me arms and she gave me some baby-cream – don’t laugh… oh go on then!

BJ ran me back to the flats. Hobbled in, up in the lift and hastily tended to the porcelain.

Made a cuppa and sent a funny-mode email to Deana Walker – head honcho in the flats:

Dearest warm-hearted desperately adorable Deana (that should get me in yer good books?),

  1. I can report the nice gentleman from maintenance came and did me window – condemned it actually.
  2. He also screwed some screws into the living room panelling that had come loose it ain’t loose no more.
  3. I had a call to see if anyone had called to see me about the wrist-alarm battery that was no dying a death. (I told them that I had reported this. to Deana as she was getting into her Daimler to go to visit her AA advisor and she was going to call to see me as soon as possible – Only joking!) She asked me to keep her informed bless her.
  4. Many letters here for Margaret I’m afraid gal.

I need or will do shortly, a reliable trustworthy man and a van to hire as soon as I have the carpets fitted, to move stuff from the old dump to the flat. Can you recommend anyone please?

I have to sort this out soon as possible after getting the carpets fitted cause I’m paying two of everything and am running a bit low on funds. Must sell the dump to pay me rent soon. Tsk!

Thanking you

Gramercy seeking Gerry.

Hope she see’s the funny side?

Got some potatoes on a low light and updated this diary on the old computer, well laptop.

Email back from Deana just in – no answer to me van and man plea, but she’s waiting for more wristbands to arrive to replace the one I’ve got.

IMG_0078Got me nosh ready.

A veritable feast. Even if I don’t have a table to eat it off.

Potatoes (salt and black peppered), tomatoes, beetroot, smoked ham, bread and real butter, South African apple, two Viennese whirls and a lemon mousse.

Later I had an iced lolly, later still a bag of Marmite crisps too!

Glutton!

Laptop on and finished this Diary as I took me medications very late cause I fell asleep on the chair nearly falling out of it and waking up with a  start!

Got an email back from Deana. She is awaiting supply of wrist alarms to be delivered – let’s hope me mechanical ticker, reflux valve or the angina don’t get me first and I can’t call for help through the system installed and I pay extra for every week! – Just thought I’ mention this!

I’ve eaten a lot of extras tonight?

TTFN all.

Mon 20 July 2015: Inchcock Today – Fast getting nowhere…

IMG_0067

View from Woodthorpe Court this morning

01topa2Monday 20th July 2015

Decent kip in again – but after remembering so much of the night before’s dreams as wot I did like – I was disappointed in not remembering much of last nights.

Just bits about being in a sewer running?

Up at 0600hrs, late for me.

Kettle on and I had a look at me other camera to see if I could master its workings again, but gave up and had a wash and shave and tended to the porcelain duties.

Arthritis seems a lot easier in the legs and hands, Anne Gyna being fair with me, Little Inch had been bleeding a bit, ulcer okay, hernia not bad at all, reflux valve as usual a bit bothersome, bruising on me wrist getting much easier now, the mechanical ticker valve seems to be clicking away alright and the skin cancer wound continues to itch madly then when I scratch at it (Yes, I know I shouldn’t but its so hard not to) it hurts, It feels like there are ants in there somewhere trying to get out. Tsk!

Laptop on a cuppa and took me morning medications.

Finished off yesterdays diary and got it posted.

Not very warm again this morning – I hope they come to sort out the hole in the wall soon. Doc say’s I must try to avoid getting colds or flu and this ain’t helping. I’ve told the woman in charge here at the flats like – but I may as well have told the daisies outside for all the effect it had. (In fact I think I did the other day).

Did some Facebooking.

DSC00005 DSC00006

Tried to clean the storage heater – but it DSC00004was pretty pointless. Found a tablet and a penny stuck to the floor underneath it. When I tried to clean the surfaces (Nothing I tried would remove the stains from the sides of it) most of the markings were rust. About wore me poor self out on me knees trying to get it nice. Huh!

When I took the photo’s here of the heater, the finds and a view from the window above – using me other camera – but I really don’t know what I’m doing with it, so many options and messages on the screen I was baffled I say… Baffled!

Awaiting the repair people to do the kitchen now, made a cuppa again.

Got the shredder going and sorted the paperwork. Another job done – but so many to do.

Took me midday medications.

Had another go at the other camera – got in more of a pickle with it now.

1232hrs: Still no sign of the maintenance men – Nottingham City homes sent me a text message telling me they would be here this morning.

I wanted to go to the bank and tell them about me statement still being sent to the old house. Might not be time if the workmen don’t arrive soon. Tsk and Huh!

I was cleaning the sink and had a terrible thought when I espied some more of Paul the painters paint splashes on a cupboard and the taps – I hope I live long enough to find and remove them all?

Spotted what I thought was a mark on the side of the fridge – it tuned out that the Curry’s men (The one’s who left all the broken packing foam outside the door and near the lifts) had left some of the shrink wrap on it – helluva job to get it off.

I want to go and see Deana at the shed to take more of Margaret’s mail that’s just been delivered along with another bill for me – Water rates £187.47 fancy that. Also I wanted to go and get rid of me rubbish down the chute – but until the City-Homes-Chappies have been I dare not move in case I miss em.

1340hrs: The City Homes man arrived and did the cupboard, shelf and drawer.

He looked at the kitchen window and condemned it. Kaput!

Got missen ready to take letters to the Community shed and catch the last bus into town.

The shed was locked-up.

IMG_0069Caught the bus into town.

I got off in the rain near the Poundland shop and was nearly hit by one of the dozens of Pavement Cyclist inhabiting the town centre. Cycling with one hand on the pedestrian right of way and using hi mobile phone – I did shout something insulting and of a retributional nature at him but he just ignored me.

I nipped into the shop and got some oven tin liners, a loaf of bread and a fresh air spray.

IMG_0070

The smoke is coming from the Jamaican Caribbean take away food stall

Then I wandered into the City Centre as the rain lessened a bit, crossed over the square and down into Exchange Walk, where I waited patiently to see an advisor. Nearly fell asleep waiting.

Got to see one and explained about me statement going to the old house although I changed me address with them last Monday. Seems it takes a few days to go through?

To the counter and got some 20p’s for the laundry.

IMG_0071Hobbled down to Sr Peters church, which looked lovely as a break in the rain made it look different somehow?

Went right and to the eNottingham City Transport ticket place and found a time-table for the 40 and 42 buses that run on Winchester Street.

Walked around a bit nd slipped some seeds to the pigeons – still a high number of thoughtless moronic pedestrian cyclists all over the place.

IMG_0072Went to catch the 40 bus, nd as it set off and down Upper Parliament Street it stopped at some pelican lights and I noticed that the Cash-shop come pawnbrokers come Money lenders shop was really busy – or maybe it was being robbed?

Hehe!

IMG_0073The rain came a bit heavier then.

By the time we had reached Winchester Street, going down the hill this time, I got off at the right bus-stop (Amazing I know!), and crossed the road and walked down to the flats.

The drizzle began again en-route.

IMG_0074As I got between the two blocks I walked under some chestnut trees and stopped when I saw a squirrel nibbling some of the newly dropped nuts.

Pressed on and into the flats.

Felt tired but hungry so WC’d nd put some roast potatoes in the oven with a few chips and added some frank’s for IMG_0075the last few minutes.

Very tasty indeed. Rated this 8.4/10.

Whoopsiedangleplop!

Then when washing the dishes afterwards I managed to drop one as I was scrubbing it, which covered me in water and bounced off me right foot big to, hit me knee and made one helluva mess on the floor.

I just said ‘Hey-ho’ and cleaned it up like. FibMode

Got the laptop on to finish this off.

Tired again now… going to get me head down.

TTFN.

Sun 19th July 2015: Inchcock Today: Wot an odd dream, even for Inchcock

Sunday 19th July 2015

0707b

He thought it a good idea to fetch some stuff from the old place… Tsk!

Boy did I sleep last night! I reckon I got seven hours in – and only woke up about five times.

The dreams were freshish in me mind, so I wrote notes down from them, I cleared the bedding away, made a cuppa and got the laptop – on to record bits.

I was security guarding again: Massive place no idea where, gatehouse duties, barrier control, lorries, workers, panic, intruders and mayhem when someone arrived carrying a bomb marked with the ‘bomb’ printed on it. There were three or four other officers in the gatehouse but none of them could see the bomb sign? Eventually the police arrived and I got arrested!

At the police station I was put in a cell decorated with pictures of the three-dwarfs and a Wanted poster of me on the inside of the cell door?

I found myself in the dock – with judges or magistrates sat high up on the wide bench with just their head and shoulders showing and I knew them all bar one – a chap with three eyes and an endearing smile? The others included Lynton Cox, Les Johnson, Shuttlecock and Shirley Blamey. My defence councils were Rachel Carerra and Mike Steedenski. Marissa Bergen was with us, and she kept playing the drums at the side of out bench/table every time anyone spoke? No ones seemed to complain, in fact they waited until she’s finished before they continued talking? I the gallery were protesters shouting me innocence, Angie, Tessa and Caroline Bristor amongst them.

They called Patti Berkert as the prosecutions main witness and she proceeded to open her bag and lay-out some lemons a tray and other bits and pieces, sliced the lemons and put them in a tray with other bits and declared this is the way she told me to make lemon scented fresheners for me kitchen, and I’d done it wrongly thus am guilty as charged?

The adjudicators all agreed and I was found guilty. Rachel gave me a hug and Shirley screamed at the bench…

Mayhem ensued and the crowd rioted, throwing sliced lemons at the bench?

Then I was sat in a canoe on a stream waiting for someone to arrive… and fell asleep… I woke up with all the TFZ gals around me?

Then I was on rooftops running away from something, I was jumping over chimneys and between buildings…

That was a different type of dream/s for me.

The odd thing is, in real life I had forgotten about how to make the scented thing that Patti had told me how to. I got some Lemons in yesterday and didn’t know what to do with them and felt a fool, thinking that today I’ll have to email Patti to ask her again.

I started this diary as the rain came down outside – not a lot, more like drizzle.

Attended the porcelain, returned to the laptop and minutes later returned to the porcelain! oh dear.

The hemorrhoids bleeding, little Inch tender and blood in the… well never mind that.

0707cHad a good wash-up and shave – during which I decided to have a walk into Carrington to get some more stuff to sort for this place.

I made sure I’d got me Pensioners Free Bus-pass just in case there was a chance of catching one on me way back – it’s not too bad walking there, but coming back carrying bags can be a bit of a struggle.

0702I got to tend of Chestnut Way corner and thought how nice the view was through the gap in the trees/bushes. There are allotments immediately below where I was, and some of the residents in the flats have one. Council owned, don’t know how much they cost to rent.

0703I turned the corner to go down the Winchester Street hill and what a state the bus-stop was in!

They should take some DNA from the cap on the seat and find out who’s responsible and deport them to somewhere nasty.

plodded on down the hill, through some side streets onto Mansfield Road and on into Carrington – the rain started again in earnest.

Tsk!

0704Got in the flea-pit and sorted some togs, cooking gear, computer stuff – even found more paper work that need sorting, pile em in me two bags.

Oh, and a pot of old £.s.d. coins – Gawd they were heavy.

Also a letter from the Bank had been delivered, and this after I’d been into the bank, last Monday I think it was, and changed my address with them? Must check with them again when I get into town.

I thought at first I would not be able to carry these all the way back to the flat – but hoped that a bus would be coming on Mansfield Road to lift me into Sherwood and make it easier.

0705The wasn’t one.

Just one passed, going the other way.

The rain was coming a bit stronger now and I began to regret going for the things to sort. But it is the only way to get the so…

Got down the hill and cut through behind the library coming out on Winchester Street Hill.

0706A lady who passed me going down to the Hill had the right idea: Taking a brolly with her I thought.

Then realised I’d got my pound-shop brolly at the bottom of me bag, but no hands free to use it!

There was a bus stop on Winchester Street opposite where I came out onto it.

How fortunate for a change, a bus was due and came within 30 seconds. A lifesaver that, I got on swiped me free bus-pass and got off at the next but one stop closest to the flats.

That saved me struggling up the worst part of the hill with me bags. I was very lucky too – the buses only run every hour and a half on Sundays – mind you, that’s better than the L9 from the flats, they don’t run at all on a Sunday. Hey-ho!

I poddled up the last bit of hill and into Chestnut Way to the flats. As I approached the doors, key swipe in hand, I espied some Wood pigeons and got some seed out of me bag to feed them. But they flew off before I could get to the seeds.

Walked to the lobby doors and could I find the keys?

I walked back to where I stood to watch the pigeons but could not see them on the rain-soaked floor anywhere, back into the lobby entrance and started to take stuff out of me bags searching for them. Eventually found them in with me togs what I’d brought.

Avoided a Whoopsiedangleplop there – Phew!

Got in and up to the flat. WC’d and put the bags in the front room with all the others that need sorting – no point in doing any that need storage until I get the carpets and furniture sorted.

Made a cuppa and updated this tosh.

0707aOpened the bank letter. This informed me I had £2.95 in my Smart Saver Account!

I had a job containing me excitement I can tell yers!

Put hearing aid inserts in soak, washed the cloths and started to clean the paint splattered by painter Paul on the electrical wiring from the heaters – but the walking with the heavy bags had taken its toll on me knees and I couldn’t stay down for long, so gave up.

Checked me emails.

The rain has stopped now I’ve got back in – but the wind has got up – blowing on something awful in the kitchen now! And the only help I got from the wardens was ‘Others stick an old top coat in the hole’ Tsk!

I saw on Streetlife site a lady locally was selling a walker for £20 good as new it says. So I replied saying I was interested.

I was cooking me nosh int oven and a text message came in from a lady selling the three-wheeled walker with a  bag on it – £20. So I rang her and explained I wanted it but would have to phone me mate to see if/when he could collect it with me. Said I’d ring her back.

Rang BJ and he said he could do it tonight around 1900hrs for me. Rang the lady back and confirmed it.

DSCF0163Me nosh was ready – had a job getting the oven clean afterwards mind – but a better job of cooking me smoked streaky bacon this time, and the potatoes were grand too! Possibly me best to date since being in the flat. Rated 8.6/10.

I was so excited at getting the bacon right I forgot about the beetroot.

Washed up (Wot a job) and then updated this diary.

Did a search for where the ladies address was. A few minutes drive in the car either way.

Tired already.

BJ rang on his way.

We to go down to meet him – forgot me hearing-aids and I’d got me reading glasses on. Went back and changed glasses and put me hearing-aids in. Tsk!

Met BJ just down the road and he soon got me to the place – nice lady lifted the machine down the steps for me. BJ put it in his car for me. Paid the lady and thanked her.

BJ offered to lift me to the old place to pick-up the shredder – thanked him and we did.

Back to the flats, BJ sorted the things and dismantled the shredded so I could carry it in on the wheelie.

Got in and had a drink of spring water, WC’d and laptop on to finish this diary, cause I am well tired again.

Sorted the paperwork I’d brought from the flea-pit a bit, ready for proper sorting in the morning.

TTFN all.

Sat 18 July 2015: Inchcock Today – Huh!

Saturday 18th July 2015

0601

Went to kip late last night and soon nodded off into a deep sleep for two hours – after that I was waking every half hour it seemed, filled with dread and apprehension in response to dreams?

I can’t recall a lot about them just bits here and there. Being chased again, underwater and helping a surgeon remove me fingers who kept squirting WD40 onto them?

Bolt awake late around 0640hrs. WC’d and found the fresh cream cakes I’d had delivered with last nights Tesco visit lying on the heater in the hall – Huh!

Made a cuppa titivated the kitchen and returned to the WC. Mmm?

Laptop on and got yesterdays diary done and posted. Much stuff to respond to on Facebook. So I went on there for a good while then started a post for the LOMM site.

Despite the sunshine it’s cold this morning. I’m not opening the window, I can see the trees swaying violently in the wind – that is also coming into the kitchen via the hole in the wall – Tsk!

0702WC’d. Had a good scrub up and shave, got me togs on, got the washing ready in the bag – remembering to take the softener and soap capsule with me and set off down the laundry room.

Met me next flat neighbour as we both opened our door together. Had a little chin-wag, then to the lift and down.

No one in the laundry room so I got the machine going. Went out into the foyer to read me book, the plan was to have a little walk and take some photographs while the drier was on, cause that takes an hour.

I’d forgot to take me book down with me. So went back up and got it, brought it back down and sat in one of the high easy hairs to read it. I kept nodding off, and each time someone came in or out, the Tannoy blasted out “There is CCTV in operation in this building” to wake me and I got funny looks from whoever came in or out. Hehe! Did more kipping than reading I think.

0703Got me togs put away and despite the vicious looking wind I went out for a walk up to the park.

I took this photo of the stubby grass being blown in the wind to show how hard the wind was a-blowing.

Decided not to go too far.

0706On the way up the hill from the back of the flats the hillside has so many daisies bravely blossoming in the grass defying the cruel winds.

Up to the top and passing the kids play area – even with the wind (mind you I had me new hearing aid-batteries in wot I installed earlier) I could hear and lip-read the language being thrown about verbally by the parents and kids themselves… very crude!

0705Over the other side of the hill was some Pitch and Putt players enjoying a game.

I was a bit nervous in case a stray sliced shot came in my direction like?

I turned and took a photo of Woodthorpe an Winchester Court from a different angle, to ones I did earlier.

0704It was getting more windy than ever – I bet the pitch and putters were cursing it when they had to putt?

Then I wandered to the left and the gravel path that leads down to the flats, the one the local dog owners use daily for their dogs to relieve themselves and took one from the front side of the flats.

0703aI noticed that the three flats immediately above mine each had some balcony furniture in use.

I only got two hairs in the flat yet. Tsk!

I returned wind-battered to the flats and visited the WC and made a cuppa.

Then I found two letters on the floor that had been delivered. More Bills! One for me and one for Margaret the previous tenant, both from Severn-Trent.

I cleaned out me hearing-aid accoutrements bag that had got wet and dirty when I moved them in. I took a photo of them on the kitchen window and noticed the Emergency Alarm wrist band button there – and thought, hang-on, if I’m paying for this service as I am… why should the monitoring station phone up yesterday to tell me the battery power was showing too low and have me test it through their line, then tell me they would inform Nottingham City Homes and when i mentioned this to those in charge at the Community shed, they just said I’ll come and have a look Monday or Tuesday? Not on that! Swines!

0701I mentioned the trouble I’ve been having with maintenance people to a bloke yesterday, the lock being fitted and not working, the giant hole in the wall no one seemed interested in etc. and he said:”Tell me about it, yer can’t get owt done properly here!” and he tutted, shook his head mumbled summat and went off to this flat. Don’t bode well does it?

DSCF0150Made me nosh. cheesey beans, bacon and beetroot.

I enjoyed this too.

Hell of a job to get the pans clean afterwards. Huh!

Did a bit of Facebooking and took me medications.

TTFN all.

Frid 17th July 2015: Inchcock Today: Another Long Day… Tsk!

Friday 17th July 2015

0501

Sprang awake at 0255hrs – got up urgently to respond to the need for the WC usage.

Repair men coming today to mend the Air-vent in the Kitchen.

Made a cuppa, pondered on how there seems to be extra things doing, sorting, investigating, arranging and worrying about all the time. Things seem to be going wrong lately, extra Whoopsiedangleplops… not going right or as expected – I’d hoped this would have changed in the new flat, but it’s brought more to fret over, complications and now me duodenal ulcer has started playing up for the first time in over two years.

Yet still I’m finding something extra here – so nice to talk to people when I see them instead of fearing them like in the old flea-pit. And having someone to talk to sometimes, Deana when I see her always makes time for a little natter – mind you with all the repairs and there going wrong it is her job to help me sort them. And the mix-ups medically are frustrating.

Yesterday, last night and this morning I have been scratching at itches under and inside the top of my arms and this is causing much bruising but cannot be resisted. I must make an appointment to see Dr Vindla about this, and the bleeding Inch too.

So much to fret over its seems lately – and yet I find so much to live for now?

To the WC again.

When I returned I read what I’d written above – boy was I waffling or what? Hehe.

Meeting cyber-friends Lynton and then Duncan made me cheer-up beyond belief. Patti Berkert’s, Ian’s, Angels, Tessa’s, Rachel, Marissa and the TFZ gals and others support makes me feel humble and grateful for their friendship. Lovely people.

Made another cuppa took the photo to doctor for the top of this diary. Paperwork yesterday got to silly proportions – but they need doing. Tsk!

The one that came yesterday from the QMC Dermatology who are treating me skin cancer confuses me a tad. It read:

A telephone follow up appointment has been arranged as follows:

DSCF0132Date: Friday 24 July 2015

Time: 1400

Speciality: Dermatology

Clinician: Miss Lucy Skelton or one of their team

You do not need to attend the Treatment Centre for this appointment.

I assume this means they are going to ring me – which is interesting as they do not have me new mobile or land-line number?

Well, it is a French owned company (Circle) that got the contract from the NHS.

Had a go on Facebook for a while.

Too early yet to have a bath – the noise of the running water might bother me neighbours this early in the morning.

Did an order for nosh to be delivered later today.

Moved the microwave away from the area where the air-vent needs repairing when the City Homes gentlemen arrive to do it for me.

Had a superb bath and shave, plenty of hot water. Luxurious… even if the Tesco bath foam didn’t foam!

Cleaned up the bathroom and put one towel in’t airing cupboard and t’other in the laundry bag.

Maintenance men should be here between 0930hrs and 1400hrs. Tesco delivery I ordered for a lot later than usual, twixt 1900 and 2000hrs, ’cause it was cheaper for delivery that hour like.

0104bRepair man arrived 1010hrs – screwed back in the Air-vent cover – said he can feel the draughts coming in and had a look at it.

The hole covered by the air -vent is twice the size of the vent opening in the wall!

The bloke said he felt it when he walked into the kitchen!

Huh!

Oh blow-it! I’ve just dropped the new clock down between the cooker and the cupboard! Got it back using me grabber-stick, reassembled it and its working for now anyway.

Actually got some time now, so weather permitting I’m going to get ready and have a walk around the Woodthorpe Park park.

Well well well, would you believe it as soon as I finished writing the sentence above, the phone rang. It was a lady from the Health Monitoring Alarm place – the battery on me Alarm Pendant was showing low, (I only had it delivered three days ago – Tsk!) She asked me to ring off and press the alarm. So I did.

I could hardly make out what she was saying when she spoke to me through the link system box – but it seems I might not be going out to have a walk and take some pictures after all – I’ve got to wait in for the ‘Warden’ to come and check me battery. Hey-ho – do all these things happen to others as well? I suppose it must?

Hello, it’s started raining now – perhaps a good thing I didn’t get out fer me walk?

Now it’s stopped.

I went down to the community shed with the letters for the previous tenant, and to tell them about the massive hole in the wall. She said yes she know they all have em, some tenants screw up an old coat and cram it in the hole! She’ll come over when she gets time, maybe Monday or Tuesday. Oh I thought?

I gave her old lock that worked that the workman removed when he installed the new one that didn’t work along with the old keys to the flat. I could tell she appreciated my efforts by the way she threw them in cutlery draw. She wasn’t too happy about me giving her more letters for Margaret (The previous tenant now living in Derby) either.

I walked back to the flat and the postman had delivered some more letters. Three for Margaret and two for me. One was the insurance papers from Age UK and the other a letter pleading for me to make a donation to Age UK.

I set out and walked back to the shed and handed them to a not happy lady.

On the way back I tried to take a photo of the flats from behind, but the camera wouldn’t have it when I tried to turn it on. Just charged the batteries earlier today as well.DSCF0133

As I got in and into the lift I opened the camera and realised I’d but the batteries in the wrong way around!

Put some chips in the oven and made a ham sarnie – I’d decided to have a bit of nosh and then go to town on the bus to check on the city-card they’d sent me and its functions. Also to take some photographs to post. (I forgot about the City-Card – Tsk!).

I went down and caught the L9 into town. Called in the pound shop and got some oven trays, cleaning mitt, Marmite crisps and a strainer.

DSCF0134Had a walk down into the slab-square and a poddle around.

Past the Council House and took a photo of Little John’s casing on top of the Council House.

The dome of the Council House contains ‘Little John’, the striking bell which is reputed to be the deepest toned bell in the country; it weighs two and a half tons, nothing compared to the 10 ton one in York.

DSCF0137They were beginning to erect the base for the Nottingham Beach coming soon.

There were several temporary food stalls open.

The Caribbean Catering and Cuisine take-away was moderately busy.

DSCF0136The ice-cream van was doing alright too.

At £2.30 for an iced sucker I was surprised he was doing so well.

I couldn’t see any other prices on display.

Nearby were two other hot food stalls DSCF0139competing for the hard shoplifted and mugged Benefit cash of the Nottingham Citizens.

On the left a German Smoke House offering Steak pattis at £3.99 each!

Merkel would be proud of them… mind you, he didn’t have any customers while I was there.

DSCF0138On the edge of the centre stands stood a stand selling French Pancakes.

No one went near that one let alone actually bought owt from it – I blame General De Gaul and Tony Blair yer know… Hehe!

The folks sat around consisted of young people mostly, Pavement Cyclists, Kids in the fountains and skateboarders.

I made sure I was in plenty of time to catch the L9 back to the flats as it was the last one of the day.

Got back to the flat.

Made a cuppa and got laptop on to update this gem of superior-boredom diary.

The land-line phone rang – another wrong number. Oh dear.

Really warm and sunny now, windy with it mind.

0501Looks like it might be the last day of decent sunshine for a week. I blame John ‘Silver-spoon fed’ Osborne yer know!

Having a bash on Facebook now – back in a while…

I sorted some more of the paperwork out into wallets for each topic and searched to find the meter readings I took yesterday from the old place. Found them eventually.

Tired and weary again now, waiting for the Tesco delivery to come.

It arrived, without the credit or cash being knocked off for the broken clock and crushed cakes they delivered earlier.

That’s Tesco finished for me! Swines!

Put away the nosh and got me head down – not feeling 100%.

Take care all – TTFN.

Thur 16th July 2015: Hot water… at last! Whoopsiedangleplop! Busy busy day!

Thursday 16th July 2015

Got a good dream filled 6 hours kip in last night! (Not that I can remember much of them, just gallows, many witches and me drowning)

Woke up with a start again – mind racing…

‘Got to meet Pete 1000hrs at his bus-stop in town’: Can’t do that, I checked the buses last night, first one at 0930hrs doesn’t get into town until 1008hrs.

Fretted a bit over the bills that had arrived.

Must get back for 1230hrs as the maintenance man is coming to refit the door lock twixt then and 1630hrs. Will I have time to get me things done – wanted to get some hearing aids from the audio clinic, call in Jessops to get help with me camera and get some bread… Something will have to be missed. Tsk!

Delighted when I made a cuppa to take my meditations and found that I had hot-water coming from the taps.

Had a bath and wash-up. during which I found: The wrist bruising is much less now (Not that that stopped me banging it on the cupboard door twice like).

The ‘Little Inch’ was so tender and had been bleeding again.

The cancer wound was itching more than ever.

Me knees wus having a visit from Arthur Itis in a bad mood.

Anne Gyna was giving the usual signals that she does sometimes before playing up. Oh dear!

The haemorrhoids were tingling a bit, but very little blood.

The usually sticking-open Reflux Valve has sank back down a bit into me chest – not sure what to expect now – it very rarely does that?

Hey-ho!

Put some baked beans in a bowl and marinated them for later on: A little touch of mild curry powder, half a teaspoon of English mustard, a sprinkle of Worcester sauce, a splash of vinegar, a spoon of unrefined demerara sugar and a few sultanas.

Made another cuppa, the first one went cold. Pondered on me repair jobs upcoming: Today: the locks being changed. Friday: Kitchen vent being repaired. Monday: Kitchen cupboard being repaired. Tuesday: Store Room checked for safe to use situation. Thursday next: Draughts in Kitchen to be assessed. Wed 29th: Smoke Alarm checks… on and on… And along with the many already set and expected weekly medical appointments it’s no wonder I’m a confused little Nottingham Lad. Hehehe!

I wish I could stop me mind racing fretting and unendingly (Now there is a word one doesn’t type very often! Just a thought – plenty of them bouncing around in me confused mind at the moment) banging away.

Laptop on and started this diary, checked emails, got this posted.

Got the things I’ll need for the meet with Pete. Bus-pass, timetable, notes of what needs doing (Not that will get done anyway),  nibbles for Pete and Jane, camera, mobile phone… bet I’ve missed summat out.

DSCF0122Put me alarm on me new little £3 clock to remind me when it got close to time to get ready fer bus to meet Pete. Natty little clock Did a bit of Facebooking. It’s got a little tiny light on it to the left of the face so I can find it in the dark… hehe!

And it tells me written on the box that it is Recyclable too.

Went down to the lobby and had a go on me crossword book, some residents arrived and I managed to get a little nattering done with some of them.

Dean Walker (The Heroine of mine who found me keys the other day) came in and was so busy. She handed me the new lock that was to be fitted to me flat door later, replacing the excellent one already fitted?

Caught the bus L9 in to town and met Pete at his bus stop, timed it just right for once.

We went to the Jessop camera store and a young man was very patient with me and showed me how to clear the grid I’d managed to get on the screen. He said the photographs were already being saved at the smallest available to these cheaper-end cameras. Humph! Hehe.

We plodded up the hill to the Audio Clinic. Gawd me feel and legs were hurting summat rotten by the time we got there! Agonomy it wer!

0302Got me batteries and some tubes for me hearing-aids. And we strolled down the hill into town.

We walked down St Peter’s Street. A quaint looking old street indeed.

Pete took a photo of me near the Noshery, with a view of the old street in the background.

Not many folk on it nowadays, it’s used more as a cut-through than anyone actually shopping in it nowadays.

We went into the slab square0303.

Where I spotted a crow manipulating a discarded bag to get into the contents. Much impressed I was too with it’s dexterity.

I wonder what it was in the bag that attracting him/her to work so hard to get at it?

I left Pete and wandered up to the bus-stop to catch the L9 to the flats.

When it arrived, I put away me crossword book and went to get on – Whoopsiedangleplop time again! No bus-pass to be found!

0304The bus pulled off and left me feeling a twit and searching me pockets for the pass! I knew I had it when I got to the bus-stop… repeatedly searched me multitude of pockets without any luck.

Then, noticed it laying there on the pavement. I know I’ve said this before and will again no doubt – Wot a plonka!

Actually it turned out okay, cause I realised I had time to get a bus to Carrington and get the meters read for the gas and electric, and collect a bag of stuff to take to the flat, so maybe it was good that I didn’t get on the bus to Sherwood?

dropped off in Carrington, no yobs about, and made me way to the dump.

Someone had filled me bin with rubbish bless them.

Got in and down the cellar to record the meter readings and wrote them down!

Then had a search round for things I could manage to carry in me bag back to the  flat. Got some hearing plugs, paperwork to sort later, a blanket, some trousers, cutlery and socks.

Some mail had been delivered – including me INR test results.

0201AppsLater I called the doctors about this – as they told me over the phone yesterday (Unless I miss-heard them) that my next appointment was for Monday 27th at 0915hrs. The hospital record card said it was for the Monday 20th July?

She initially said yes it was for the 27th – I pointed out the QMC results I got through the post to the old house  said the 2oth.

She then said she would change it to Monday 20th at 0950hrs – but I had two appointments on that Monday with the repair men coming. I explained this but they had no free appointment for the time the repairmen were here… Tsk!

So she made it for the 21st on Tuesday – now I’m going to get letters e-mails and phone calls from the Anticoagulation at the Queens Medical Centre about missing me Monday appointment and I’ll have to explain everything to them again! If I can remember all this then like.

Got me bags, not too heavy if I wasn’t going to walk a long way with them and made me way to the bus-stop and caught one into Sherwood.

Me feet and knees were really bad now.

In Sherwood when I dropped off bus, I walked up the hill to the bus-stop going in the opposite direction. To see if an L8 bus was due so I could avoid the slog up the hill on Winchester street wiv me bags like. No, 40 minutes to the next one – so I painfully struggled up the hill to the flats.

Quite proud of missen when I got in the flat. (Smug mode adopted – mind you the cramps will get me tonight for all me hill climbing – Hehehe!).

I WC’d and made a cuppa. Put me bags in the living room and set about sorting the paperwork. What a grind that was.

Laptop on and updated this diary of Woe.

DSCF0128

Looking out for the locksmith chap…

Cleaned the bathroom with me new ‘do-as-it-wants’ expensive mop. Talk about streaks. Huh! Might have been me mind doing summat wrong?

Waiting for the worker-chaps to arrive to do replace the flat door lock.

Got an email from the GP surgery telling me I had an appointment on the 29th with the surgery nurse at 0930hrs? Well, that’s the day that Swift’s are doing the Smoke and Fire alarm checks. Int life complicated sometimes! Huh, Tsk and flippin’ ‘eck!

The locksmith chap arrived and put the new lock in – took him about three minutes. He gave me two keys and toddled off.

I tried to clean the frame of the window in the kitchen – even tried scouring pads, but not good. The decay and ground in marks ain’t ‘avin’ it!

Put me beans in the oven to bake em a bit more with the veg pastie and two sausages. Doing them slowly, don’t know why mind.

0305I found a photograph what I took today amongst the ones I knew about that I’ve already posted – but this one is a total mystery to me?

The only thing I can think of, is maybe either the Jessops man or missen took it while he was showing me how to select and deselect the grid option on the camera… perhaps. But I don’t know really. Have you any ideas please? Ah well!

Nosh in’t oven not quite hot enough yet. Tested it by opening oven door and sticking me finger in the beans. I like the taste of this recipe, must write it down for later.

DSCF0129Ah, ready now, excuse me while I get it down me neck.

8.5/10 for this, it was great tasting!

I decided I’d go out for a walk like, and take some photographs of the park and call to see BJ.

When I left the flat – the new door lock would not lock!

Hellfire damnations and huh! – a Whoopsiedangleplop not of me own making this time!

I went down to the lobby to find the number required from the lost on the wall and a lady told me to dial ‘O’ on the internal phone to get someone to talk to about it.

So I thanked her and did like.

The chap at the other end (Couldn’t hear him 100%) I told him about having a new lock fitted today and he gleefully said “Who fitted the lock, it’s in your tenancy agreement you can’t do that without permission!”.

I told him City Homes fitted the lock and he said no more on the matter. He then told me he’d contact City Homes and get back to me about it.

So, I’m updating this diary while I wait.

“Whistling tunelessly and picking my nose now…”.

“Scratching me bum now…”

Too late for me to go out now and see BJ to look at the bed he had in mind for me.

“Washed the inside of the microwave while waiting…”

No one rang back, but a chappy-fella arrived and got the lock working working. I asked him what the problem had been and he said sometimes with these locks when you install them you can push the outer-lip out a tad too much. So when you use the key you must press and hold it in and not pull at the key when it is in the lock.

Very encouraging that. The old lock I was happy with but officialdom deemed had to go was never any trouble. Be interesting when I come to use the key when me arthritis is playing up… oh I’m fed-up!

Got another City Homes pretend maintenance man or men coming tomorrow as well. They or he or she is coming to mend the broken Air-vent in the kitchen.

Well past my bedtime now, so no Facebooking tonight.

Such a tiring day again.

Woke with a start – dream fresh in my mind: I was running on ledges outside sky-scrapers being chased – I was wearing yellow day-glow tea shirt and long-john underpants – I felt young… then I was stood in a long queue at St Peters gate reading an electric wiring leaflet for toasters, although it was written in French? – Mmmm?

Take care all, cheers.

15 July 2015: Inchcock Today: Double Council Tax to pay!

Wednesday 15th July 2015

Sprang awake at 0105hrs – the dreams still making me shake with sheer fear at the memories of them. Made a cuppa, laptop on and started this diary off:

WC’d.

I seemed to be living in a mixture of all the dwellings I have ever lived at – the common denominator was gangs of various types attacking me every time I tried to get in or out. At one time I had concealed myself at the edge of a canal on the grass bank with binoculars, my old leather-bound motorbike helmet on and with a feather duster again?

When I woke I remember feeling so relived it was over and not real!

Started working on a LOMM site blog-post about the LOMM Partly political party and it’s Shadow Ministers. Got carried away and spent hours and hours and still didn’t get anywhere near finishing it when Glendora from Age UK rang the intercom to be let in.

We got so muh more sorted today thank heavens.

She rang Age UK in response to an insurance advertisement they sent me – and after only 58 minutes it was sorted. Of course the £59 they suggested it would cost, had gone up to £89 by the time all the extras had been added! Tsk! Still, I can stop worrying now, I think I’m covered – but it was so confusing all the questions – Good job Glendora was here.

She was too early to call the NHS line to change me address so I can get me iNR Warfarin level test results sent here and not the old place. The help line is only on three days a week and then only from 1100 to 1500hrs.

She then set about calling the Council about the tax, but as expected I have to pay both here and the old place until I sell it. Hey-ho!

We couldn’t get a hold of Steve from Age UK to ask him when he would be available to be here when the carpet fitters arrived to measure up, pick carpets and get the price off them. So no pint in ringing them yet.

Glendora took me down to the charity shop in Sherwood to see if the writing table and black comfy seat was still in stock – but no they’s been sold.

DSCF0119

Age UK’s volunteer Gendora taking me shopping

She then suggested she take me to Arnold and another shop to try for a bed – but they had no full time staff on duty and the volunteers didn’t know what had and hadn’t been sold?

We walked over to Wilkinsons store and I bought a clock and small mirror.

Back to the flat bless her.

She rang the Helpline at the NHS and persisted getting an answer eventually and sorted the address change for me.

I thanked her and off she went.

I got six more letters for the Margaret the previous tenant and three for me!

Hang on, I’m going to open em now…

I don’t like this at all – a Council Tax Bill for 2015/2016 for the old place – Amount due £852.95 – and one for the new flat amount due £855.81!

The last one from Nottingham City Council with a City Card – and offering me content insurance with no Excesses for £25 less than AGE UK who I’d just signed up for!

Also told me of the Rent and the ‘Extras’ i have to pay for CCTV, caretaking, communal light, TV receptions (Although I haven’t got one), Sheltered accommodation services? Supporting person Charge warden and Care alarm property.

DSCF0120Now I feel right down!

Had me nosh, the bad financial news took the edge off me enjoying it.

Did some Facebooking and then got down to finishing the LOMM post.

Hard work but I enjoyed doing it’

LOMM Partly Political Party…

DSCF0121I realised when I was half way through me apple that I’d noshed the sticky label! Huh!

It wer one of these here like wots on the other apples like.

Hey-ho!

Quilt, cushion, throw head down on the Kitchen floor – No cramps yet. Soon nooded off despite me worries… poor old grumps eh?

Tue 14 July 2015: Inchcock Today –

Tuesday 14th July 2015

0201

Didn’t wake up until gone 0600hrs – got in at least 6 hours much-needed kip. Memories of dreams fresh in me head I wrote some bit down quickly to record later – which is just as well ’cause by the time I’d nipped to tend to duties at the porcelain and sorted out me painful little Inch problems, I’d lost all memories of the dreams and had to rely on the notes to tell of em.

No hot water again, only tepid and the immersion was not working, well when I turned it on, no light came on. Tsk!

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Nippy again this morning.

Stand-up wash and shave, feet in a bowl to clean and I dropped the towel in the sink. Oh dear, wotta good start!

Got the rubbish bags sorted to take to the chute later when it will be permitted to do so.

Boiled the kettle again, made a cuppa and put me cleaning cloths in the kitchen bowl to soak.

The ‘Little Inch’ is so tender this morning and needed much gentle attention. I’m a bit worried about its (the lesion’s) condition now.

Another trip to the WC, when I cleaned the bowl I came across some more of Paul the painter’s deposits and splashes and cleaned em off – will it never end. Hehehe!

Back in the kitchen I could hear a new to me noise and after investigation to put me mind at ease, I found it was the fridge-freezer, its gone from Grrr clump – clump shudder click noises to Grrrrrr shudder bang clump grind click noises now.

Laptop on to start this diary off and consulted me scribbled notes about the dreams:

A multitude of corridors, people chasing me – when I stopped they had disappeared? – I ended up chasing after them, searching rooms… fell in love with a woman I found hiding behind an old-fashioned blackboard and easel with writing on it from L R Johnson’s Erskine Quint book about Volga Olga in an office… Music started playing, jazz and I was then in a submarine… The crew wanted to know where I came from and Himmler appeared to ask for peace terms and I hit him over his head with a giant candy-floss?

There was a lot more but I could not decipher me writing. Huh!

Checked me emails.

Made up some graphics to use later with Coreldraw X7.

Took the bags to the refuse chute.

BJ rang, he’s coming at 1200hrs (Heard that before bless him) to kindly run me to the old place to collect some stuff and bring it to the flat for me.

I took me crossword book down with me and waited at the foyer for him to arrive.

He rang at 1215hrs, to tell me he’s on his way.

He ran me to Carrington and the old house.

Much lifting soDSCF0116rting and carrying later (Oh me back!) we were on our way back to the flat. When we arrived we carried the many bags into the foyer area, ready to lift into the building, the lift, then flat.

City Home’s Deana and another lady helped us carry them to the lift, then came with us on the lift and helped us carry them into the flat and front room! Most appreciated that was – bless them.

Boy have I some sorting to do here.

I’m not going to do any yet with them mind – going to get the carpets sorted first, but not until I get the repairs out-of-the-way.

Glendora Age UK volunteer should be here tomorrow, to do some phoning for me. Decent of her.

Brought the old computer with us to the flat today. Amazingly, the battery was still on 100%?

Had a bit of hassle getting Virgin internet connected but got there in the end.

Steve from Age UK arrived and we had a natter, he gave me some Carpet places to ring. He tried to ring the NHS to get me address changed but no one there.

DSCF0117Made him a cuppa Welsh tea and he was off.

Got me nosh ready.

Did some Facebooking then watched a Dr Who DVD.

Tired now… but happier than I’ve felt in a while… Oh dear… Shouldn’t have said that should I?

Mon 13 July 2015: Inchcock Today: No hot water – INR blood-test – Prescriptions – Moved some stuff from old place – Bus ride to Arnold to get what I couldn’t get cause they had none in!

cropped-main3.jpgMonday 13 July 2015

DraughtsUp at 0110hrs: At least I got some sleep in.

Not so cold this morning, but I could feel the draughts coming in via the corner in the kitchen when I got up – Brrr!

Cleared me sleeping togs and made a cup of tea. No hot water again.

Mind racing again trying to remember what I had to do, INR blood tests at the GP surgery, visit from City Homes 1300hrs. Must try to get some bits from the old place and call at the chemists to see about prescriptions.

Had to stop missen taking me medications too early – must remember to take them later though.

Laptop on and finished off yesterdays diary.

DuSepiaDid a bit of Facebooking, then did some graphicationalisationing on Coreldraw x7 and Corelpaint. Thought this one of Duncan came out good.

I was pleased with the outcome for once.

It was from a photo I took of him yesterday and I tried to make it look aged and sepia like.

Another cuppa (I must cut back on these) and took me medications around 0500hrs.

Got in a bit of a pickle when saving some of the worked on photo’s – as I’d saved them in CPT (Corel PhotoPaint) format and of course they were not acceptable for loading on here. Had to reload and save them again in the other programme in Jpeg.

Got a letter for the previous tenant Margaret and on me way out for a walk to the GP surgery fer me INR tests I dropped it off to my heroine Deana at the community shed, and mentioned me email I’d sent about no hot water. She’s going see if they can have a decker at it.

Walked to the end of Chestnut Way and down to the bottom of Winchester Street and along Mansfield Road into Carrington to the surgery, 24 minutes.

Several infamous Nottingham Pavement Cyclists en-route. Tsk… gits!

Got in the surgery and the nurse called me in after ten minutes or so. I like this nurse, she’s patient with us old fogies. She had a look at the healing skin cancer wound for me – all looking good. Then she checked appointments –  apart from the INR tests that will come in, no appointments at the moment until the 27th July.

Then she checked that I had changed me address on the computer and it was in alright – but the INR test results from the hospital keep getting sent to the old address.

Took me blood samples and showed concern over me bruising on the wrist still not clearing – but said this happens when your INR level is too high – which I didn’t know for sure cause I wasn’t getting the results and doses through the post.

DSCF0107I thanked her and set off a a little walk to the chemists. Where me nonthly prescription were ready to be picked up.

Then nervously made me way, keeping to the middle of the road and avoiding any of the alleyways I made me way to the old flea-pit.

I couldn’t help but be so glad I’ve moved when I saw the view of the road when I DSCF0104turned the corner into it.

Although there was nobody around, I could hear the music blasting away from the house opposite.

At least it had not been broken into in me absence.

I had a good hunt around and found some paperwork I might need and be of use for Glendora if she comes on Wednesday. Then had a hunt round and got some bits, books, pliers, socks and sundry I would need, but the two bags along with the stack of medications limited how much I could carry back to the flat. Still, a bit of progress of sorts achieved?

Got me bus-pass, locked-up and struggled to the bus-stop with me two bags. Dropped off in Sherwood, and went in the Dentist to alter me address there. The receptionist there was an Obergruppenfurher type as well. I came out a bag of nerves! Hehe!

Then a bit of luck for once – I was going to walk down and up the Winchester Street Hill back to the flats – but I checked at the bus-stop and an N9 inbound bus was due in 1 minute! Great! Especially as it was beginning to rain a bit.

Got off outside the block and made me way up to the flat -saw nobody on the way, which surprised me a tad as there are 200 flats in the block, and 146 of them are doubles.

Got in and put me bags in front room for sorting later, made a cuppa, WC’d for the fifth time today. Put the medications on the window ledge in the kitchen. And got the laptop on.

Put the JR radio station on the internet and listened to some Jazz ballads while doing this diary.

I actually heard a noise, and i was in he kitchen with the door closed -It was the Mail being delivered. Five for Margaret the previous tenant and one for me – from Nottingham City Homes informing me they were coming to change the flat door lock to a Suited Lock on 16th July twixt 1230 and 1630hrs. The idea being that when I pop me clogs or lay bleeding to death like, they (The City Homes folk) can get into the flat, cause they will have keys.

Added this appointment to the others on me Google diary.

Awaiting Deana (I think she said she was calling around 1300hrs – but…) and Iceland delivery. If both happen in time, I’d like to catch the bus into Arnold and back. See if I can get any bargains at the Fulton food store.

Still waiting for either or both…

IMG_0068It’s trying to rain again, overcast.

Still waiting for either or both…

Didn’t fancy going out on the balcony today – the rain made it look a bit slippery to me!

Still waiting for either or both…

Iceland arrived and I put away the nosh post haste and go missen ready to go on the Outbound L9 bus (Bless that free bus-pass) at 36 minutes past the hour that arrives in Arnold at 11 minutes past the hour, this gives me 19 minutes to do me shopping and catch the 30 minutes past the hour (Same bus on way back) into the flats. I think I’ve got it worked out right.

I only wanted three things and thought I’d get them all at Fultons Foods. Lemons, lamb shanks and microwave sausages.

Got into Arnold, nipped through onto Front Street and came out opposite Fultons.

They had none of any of em in stock! So I got some blackcurrant ice-cream lollies instead.

So I legged it back to the bus stop the other side of where I dropped off and caught the bus, it was three minutes early – luckily I was too!

DSCF0110If I’d missed it, there were no more direct buses and I’d have had to bus to town, bus out to Sherwood and have that long drag walking up the hill to the flats. Hey-ho.

It was drizzly and getting dark as I dropped off at the flats.

The driver saying “That was nippy shopping fella!”.

DSCF0112Made me nosh, chips in t’oven, peas and sausages I had left in fridge in microwave fifteen minutes later, and sliced a tomato – had some bread thins with it – I had them delivered earlier from Iceland along with some vinegar at last to have wi me chips.

I need not have worried about the oven smoking and setting off the smoke alarm – none at all – BUT! the microwave poured smoke out when I opened it – scared me to death in case it set it off. Opened the window shut the door and wafted away – pity cause that made the meal less than warm enough once I got to eating it! Tsk!

The chips were okay, the sausages fine, the garden peas nice but not very hot – but the Polish tomato was bitter as heck! Had an apple, me medications and an iced lolly afterwards.

No message from Deana – so I assume I got the day wrong for her calling.

Still no hot water. I struggled having to boil

kettle fer a wash and shave earlier. However the immersion water heater lit up this time and I left it on for an hour – costs a lot to use those do.

Long day.
