Sunday 2nd June 2019

03:45hrs. I woke, noticing I had still got the diabetic socks on, Humph! Three hours enjoyed, kip I estimated.

I remembered that neighbour Josie wanted her cheesy-potatoes meal today, instead of Saturday this week. The thinking through what was needed had to take a breather, due to a rather sudden need for the utilisation of the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket). I was pleased with my egress from the £300, second-hand, c1968, grungy-beige rickety recliner, and gaining my balance.

The bucket, held in the right hand, shook all over the place as I tried to contain it steady. But it was no bother to use it! Was this a sign of things to come. While wee-weeing, the need to use the Porcelain Throne arrived! I got the stick and hobbled to the wet room. What a session! Hard, painful and a long time coming, needing much forcing, too. Phwert!

I decided to leave the slept in socks on until later in the day, and set about hand-washing the extra-large, warm, long-sleeved shirt. I used the liquid soapflakes from Wilko and added some of their freshener granules. Hung it up over the sink to dry, as I usually do, with carefully placed pots to catch the drips falling from the hanger.

I got the medication morning dosage-pot made up last night put ready, it’s too early to take them yet, but seeing the pot near the computer, should remind me later.

I got the computer on, and the moment I tried typing, I realised my idea of letting the fingernails grow longer, to hopefully help with the electric-shock-like shakes, was not working at all.

So, I set about with the nail-clippers to cut back the nails. Which proved to be extraordinarily portentous and yet annoying at the same time! The right-hand nails, using the left hand, took me about three minutes to do. The right hand, using the right-hand, took me ten minutes to complete. How I managed without cutting any flesh was impressive. Smug-Mode-Adopted!

I then purposely took a photo from the new unwanted, light & view-blocking, thick-framed, with glass panes to clean that need a step-ladder and one that cannot be reached at all windows. To see if I could hold the camera steady enough. The answer was, No! I had to rest the Canon, as best I could on the impossible to clean and warped inside of the window frame to get a decent shot.

I changed the setting on the Canon to S=small for the pictures. But they are still coming out massive?

Back to the computerisationing again. What a farce! So much for cutting the nails helping things. All over the place, the fingers, as soon as the tip-ends touch anything. Terrible enough on the keyboard, but the camera is taking endless time to get focussed, too! Humph! Wee’d-Off-Mode adopted! Hehehe!

I made a start on finishing off the Saturday blog. I was hard work, time-consuming and with a bedevilling, irksomeness annoyingness. Grrr!

As I put the kettle on again, I had to go for a Porcelain Throne visit (Two?). And what a dissimilitude to the earlier session. It was of egregariously massive proportions, soppy, wet, and messy beyond apprehension, this time! I actually sat having a go at the crossword book, while waiting for the action to terminate! As soon as it did, a wee-wee of record length followed immediately! Then there was the time and effort needed to clean things up! Still, I did get a few clues answered in the crossword. (Alright, one clue, Tsk! Haha! Gawd knows why I’m laughing!

The sunshine was out, and the shadows forming as it came from behind. So, I took a picture from the new unwanted, light & view-blocking, thick-framed, with glass panes to clean that need a step-ladder and one that cannot be reached at all kitchen windows. While making yet another brew to replace the one that went cold while I was on the Porcelain Throne.

The pictures were still coming out massive, I checked on the Canon, the S setting showed up as being set. I must be doing something wrong? Nothing new there, then!

Late, very late, I got the blog updated and sent off. Made a cuppa for the one that went cold again. Took the morning medications and made up the pot for tonight’s doses.

Made a start on this post – and yet again had to return to the Porcelain Throne. Oh, dearie me! A complete repeat of the second visit. Perhaps even messier, and I didn’t get any answers in the crossword either!

I did notice that the pins were not in such a good a condition as yesterday. Nowt new in that, they are always changing, every day. I’d not got the camera with me, so I cleaned the place up, by the way, the aroma I left behind this last visit was putrid! Just thought I’d mention it, in case any Doctors read this post, who might like to offer some advice, on Arthur Itis, Williams Water-Retention, Alberts Axonotmesis. Allan’s Ataxia, Terry’s Transient ischaemic stroke, or Peter’s Peripheral neuropathy, free of course. Hehe!

I returned to the front room and took a picture of the legs. Lumpy, blotchy and the sock-rings showing where I’d forgotten to take them off. The fluid retention looked a lot less, and for once, the legs seemed to be the same size. The paleness doesn’t show, cause this room is darker, I think. Unless it the new camera?

I rang out the hanging shirt, and once more made a brew, to replace the one that had gone cold again. Tsk! Got the potatoes in the oven for later.

Started this post off proper. I stopped computerisationing, to get the ablutions tended to. Back in a bit…

I got somewhat discomposed, and woolgatheringly lost the plot a bit. And found myself, with rediculous-timing, considering I was about to take a shower and shave; set about hand-washing the bath towel! Left it to soak a bit further, when the stupidity of my actions hit me. Muttered some words of self-admonishment, and went off to get the ablutions done – but again got side-tracked and called at Josie’s door and rang the bells. To make sure she was in and ready for her Cheesy-potato meal around 12:30hrs, but no answer.

I got the ablutions tended to, with an interruption for a marathon wee-wee. Possibly as long as the one eight wee-wees ago. Hahaha! I enjoyed the shower etc. despite dropping the soap and fresh air spray.

The pins were looking better, and possibly with a little more blood in them? Fingers crossed!

Got redressed, and called to see Josie, no answer again. Oh dear!

I took three bags to the waste bin on the three-wheeled trolley and rang Josie’s door on the way back. Still no answer.

I wrang out the bath towel out much as I could manage, and put it on the airer to dry, slowly of course, and it will need turning often, to make sure it all dries out properly.

Back on the computer, and Josie rang my bell. Said she was in the shower. The good news, if I can get the timing right, 12:30hrs would be fine for her meal to be delivered.

I updated this diary a bit and then got on with cheesifying the potatoes and into the husks. Back in the oven to brown them off.

I spotted two people with two little dogs, from one of the houses in the lower field, using the cut through. I took a distance shot and zoomed in to take a picture of them as they entered the house. The first time I’ve seen it used since it was upgraded. I wonder why other householders don’t make one. It must save a hell of a lot of walking?

I put the above on the computer, went for a wee-wee, and then it was time to check the cheesy-spuds progress, 12:05hrs.

Got the nosh for Josie served up; Tuna chunks, tomatoes and some glorious looking cheesy-potatoes. I took it to her door, but got no answer, oh dearie me, again!

I returned to my place, disappointed that I cannot keep it warm, the potatoes shrivelled when I tried it last week.

Back to Josies, no answer again. Getting frustrated now.

Checked on my nosh (cheesy-potatoes) in the oven, and turned them down. Back to Josie’s, and she answered. Phew! Handed her the meal on the tray, and wished her happy eating. Then, back to the apartment and served up my dollop. And tucked into it. I didn’t make to big a nosh this time, and ate it all, along with a sourdough baguette, that I did leave some of.

During which, Josie rang the door bells, chiming out the tune of Dusty Springfield’s ‘I only want to be with you!’, to return the tray, cutlery and plate. It seems she liked it, and she gave me a tin of tuna chunks to use for next week.

I finished the fodder and washed my pots. Still early, but I took the medications and got settled in the £300 almost mediaeval rickety-recliner, to get some sleep in and catch-up. Of course, my plans failed miserably. I ended up watching some rubbish on the TV, and even that failed to find sleep for me. Huh!

Inchcock Today – Sat 1 June 2019: An effutiation and Whoopsiedangleplop dominated day, today!

Saturday 1st June 2019

Swedish: Lördag 1 Juni 2019

04:40hrs. I woke after laying praying futilely for sleep for hours and hours. And an hour-and-a-half after eventually dropping off. Phwert!

Within seconds, I was in need of the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket). Again, I was caught by surprise with how full it was. I must have been using it without realising a few times during my microscopical sleep?

A most delusive sound rang out from somewhere. A kind of vague, wailing noise with coughing sounds in the background? This happened twice in the space of thirty seconds. It was rather loud. I heard it easily enough, without any hearing aids in? But couldn’t locate the source of the worrying noise. Tsk! The plumbing, perhaps?

I took the nearly full bucket to clean and be disinfected in the wet room. Job done, I ventured to try and find the source of this mystery lamentational noise. To the kitchen first. Nothing found. Got the step ladder, which is now needed since the installation of the new light & view-blocking. thick-framed new windows, to see below, outside. No untoward signs. Then I had a look and listened with the door held open. Nothing heard or seen. Another Mystery of my beloved Woodthorpe Court: that lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of space & the spacetime continuum. Apparently, illusion, delusion, & hallucination ridden! Mmm!

The fingers started to at electrocuted again, when the tips touch anything. The updating of the Friday blog was a nightmare, well, daymare! It took me so long, I’d almost grown a head of hair by the time it was completed and posted off to WordPress.

I took the medications and did the health checks. Sia 166, Dia 85, Pulse 76 and the temperature at 35.6°c, then took some photographs with the new, freshly charged Canon camera.

I managed to take another unknown mystery photograph I found later on the SD card?

Ah well, it’s in keeping with all the earlier cameras – or is it me? Haha!

Started this blog off. But it was still hard work!

Wee-wees seemed to be dying down, they were getting less frequent for sure?

Time to get the ablutions done. And what an annoying session this was. The dang right-hand fingers were electrifying-dancing more than ever, just when I was shaving. Somehow or other, I managed without cutting myself.

Per contra, the dancing-fingers kept on and continued to give me bother. I dropped the toothbrush (that was a good one, I still haven’t found where it went, and I had to use another one?). The eye-drop bottle was also dropped, well it shot out of my pestering fingers hand really, and via the sink, WC, wall, cabinet and the floor, rolled around the back of toilet into the hardest place there could be for me to retrieve it! The disposable razor shot out of my hand twice! The carbolic soap slipped and hit the wall on its way to plop into the toilet bowl!
Last but not least, of the Axonotmesis causing  Whoopsiedangleplops by any means… I dropped the bottle of Brute after-shave, and it landed on my corned toes with the elongated nails that are still awaiting being cut! Oh, the agony! I failed to appreciate the humorous side of things on this occasion.

In pain, weed-off and somewhat battered, I tackled the problem of getting dressed. A simple-enough operation for the majority of the population, but I am in with the 6% of older and frail folks who struggle, and boy did I have to moil all the way!

I banged my ankle when using the Sock-Glide. Hit my elbow on the edge of the door edge. Clouted the back of my head when getting the jumper on. A bit of a mystery even to me, how I managed to do this. Getting the Ankle-Support straps on, was one hell of a struggle, but I felt so proud of myself once it was fitted, I went into Smug-Mode!

The pins had lost a bit of fluid retention. The knees were not so gnarled either. But some new papsules in number were appearing again now. And one leg was a little larger than the other.

I got the shoes on, but when I stood up, the feet were in just too much pain with the strapping wearing on the toes. Taking off the ankle-Support was not precisely pain-free, either. The short-lived Smug-Mode was cancelled! To be replaced with the Dismally, Depressed – Discouraged – Doleful – Depths-Mode was adopted! Damned close to feeling sorry for myself, now! That won’t do!

Then I got the hand washing done. Got one t-shirt not dried from yesterday on the airer. Then washed and started to dry a pair of socks, a thick jumper, and a woolly-bob-hat. I’m enjoying doing this each day, it keeps me active to a degree when I’m not feeling too bright.

I was slightly cheered, when I remembered the Saturday morning out-of-date cheap food sale was on in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights Flats, and Administration shed for the Generalleutnantess Wardens Temporary HQ, Emergency Toilet, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed. Rumourmongering Clinic. Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents shed. So, I took some chocolate nougat and a mandarin dessert for them in the trolley, and a recycling bag down with me on the way to the hut. I dropped the bag next to the caretaker’s door.

I limped along, with the pains and injuries from the ablution session still sore. Hehehe! Arrived at the shed, and turned to take this picture of Windwood Heights, without any lorries, vans or worked; it being a Saturday.

Also, the distinguished, well-mannered, residents folks of Winwood Heights, now have an accessible footpath to use, at least this weekend we have anyway.

Only five people in the cabin when I arrived. I had the shakes and a bit of a dizzy-spell as I went inside. I put this down as the reason for my purchasing some Egyptian broccoli that was all seeds, and the 3-day out-of-date rock hard pack of potato cakes. I gave someone the chocolates and mandarins. I seem to remember doing a lot of talking?

No doubt, the dizzy and shakes combined, had put-me-off balance a smidge. Once outside and gently walking back to Woodthorpe Court along Chestnut Walk, I realised I had bought some broccoli and the hard potato cakes. But cannot recall doing so, although I remember seeing them on sale. Angela and Roy were walking in the opposite direction, I think I asked them if they wanted the food, but they wisely declined. Hehe!

I tried to get a decent shot of some magpies in the shrubbery as I walked along the rubbish-strewn footpath.

This first shot made me suddenly aware that I had bought, or been sold, the Canon camera X40, that did not have a view-finder fitted. Bad that, with me missing the fact. I felt a right Charlie actually!

Then another bird came down to join its mate on the floor. I patiently waited so long to get a good picture.

Later, when I got the picture on the computer, this on the right is what I’d taken?

Either the magpies were like lightning, or I was not adequately recovered from the earlier funny turn properly? Haha!

I just got the lens through the wire fencing to take this photo of the linking passageway between Woodthorpe Court and Winwood Courts. Not operational yet of course, but it looks good and airy, and will keep us old uns indoors in the rain?

I managed to get another photograph messed up as I was about to grab the three-wheeled-guide to carry on back to the flats.

Sat beyond the trolley, was the most-appealing long-haired grey cat. Just sat apparently calmy looking at me. I’d have sworn blind I had taken a shot of the old grey cat in the picture, too!

I was feeling a smidge disorientated, I think. I got in the flat foyer and dropped the potato cakes and broccoli on the table for someone to try if they liked.

Back up to the flat. The wee-wees had changed to the SSDWW (Short-Sensationless-Dribbling-Wee-Wee style.

I got the lethal new kitchen windows open and tried out the zoom on the new view-finderless camera. I was pretty pleased with it. I’d have felt even better if I wasn’t feeling so rough at the moment. The Canon save images in IMG format, the Nikon as P, and the Lumix as DSGN. It all gets me confused even further than I am already!

Got the computer on, to the sounds of taps, knock and the odd bag from above. I heard them with the hearing-aids out.

I’d got some really tiny new-potatoes in the slow-cooker earlier, about five hours ago, and they were still hard, so I turned the machine to a high setting. I think this crock-pot not cooking very fast is the reason I got the other new one, that fell to pieces the other day. I can’t win, can I? Huh!

I spent about three hours on this update. The jumping fingers stayed that way all the time, so progress was not good.

I went to put the oven for the sweet and sour ready-made wheel, wheel? I meant a meal. (I’m losing it now! Proof of my excellent phlyarologist capabilities, Haha!) And added some orange peppers, I’ll add the potatoes if ever they cook, later. The noise from above had stopped, then I heard a commotion that seemed to be coming from the door. Went to investigate, and found a letter had been posted.

It was from the NHS concerning Bowel Cancer Screening.

The screening kit is to arrive in two weeks. I think I’ve had them before.

Feeling very tired now. So I’ll get the nosh cooking I reckon.

Got the sweet & sour with extra sauce, and the potatoes added, in a tray in the oven. Set timer for 35 minutes, then I can add the sourdough baguettes to it, and they should both be ready at the same time. Fingers crossed.

Feeling a bit perkier now; no more dizzies or shakes for over an hour now. Things are looking up.

I got the nosh prepared and served up.

I shall not be trying this Sweet & Sour chicken ready-meal again. I added the mini-potatoes and baked (heated-up) a sourdough baguette to soak up the juices, which were fine. The pineapple pieces, which I am not supposed to eat, were rock-hard. So I avoided eating them after one bite, this was not a bad thing. There was no sour taste involved, it was all sweet! Flavour-rating 2.5/10. But the baguette was tasty!

But for anyone that likes dry, stringy chicken pieces and sickly sweet sauce, with granite-like pineapple pieces, these Sharwoods meals can be bought from Morrisons. They’ll be ideal for you.

Washed and got settled in the £300 second-hand recliner, and put the TV on. It took ages, but eventually I nodded-off – must have needed it, cause I slept straight through for five-hours.

Inchcock Today – Fri 31 May 2019: To the City Centre. Bought a new camera, but the setting-up confused me. So, nothing new there then. Hehe!

Friday 31st May 2019

Turkish: 31 Mayıs 2019 Cuma

03:15hrs. I woke with parts of a dream I’d been having, clearly lodged in my head. I scrawled down on the notepad what I remembered. No mind-stewing this morning, straight out of the uncomfortable, c1968, second-hand, £300, grotty-spotty-beige coloured recliner, in record time, and tottered carefully to avoid any hemming and hawing by stubbing any toes, to the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket). Again, it was in the style of an LHBLWWs (Long Hosepipe-Blasting like Wee-wee). Now back to its natural colouring and pong, I’m glad to say. I assume that the increase in velocity was due to the Furesomide doing its job.

Got the health checks done, Dia 85, Sys 76, Pulse 89 and temperature 35.7°c, medications taken, made a brew and got on the computer on. And guess what again…

I consulted the scribbled notes about the dream. Oh, dear, much of it not readable. Tsk! However, for once, some memories did stay with me. I kept going to the hospital to have bits removed. It started with the odd finger and toe. Then an arm went. Then an eye. Then a testicle. Later both legs were amputated at the same time. I kept asking why, but I could not get an answer, other than you’ll have to ask your doctor. But this became impossible when they decapitated me. Then sent me home without the head. The last thing I recall was being in a wheelchair and trying to find a bus stop, wondering why they had not given me a new bonce. Hehehe!

I got the blog updated for yesterday and sent it off to WordPress. Being up late on the computer this morning (two-hours sleep max, Humph!), there was not a lot needed doing, and the hands and fingers were not shaking. As a departure from the usual, speedy progress was made. And, only one wee-wee was taken while doing the post. But, it was an LHBLWW.

As I was putting on the kettle

Golly, the pins looked a bit. Er, what are the words? Manky? Papsules blotches and new spider veins were predominant. But the fluid retention is not so bad, I think. Hey-ho!

Got the things (clothes) readied for after the ablutions, in a while.

I’ll use the three-wheeler trolley guide today. Going on the bus to town. I have to get a new camera, the Lumix has just about had it. It’s pot luck with it now I’ve had the shakes and dropped it a few times. Humph!

The wash and brush-up went well, despite several interruptions for a wee-wee.

I took off the dressing from yesterday’s blood taking, and immediately started scratching at the itching. Haha!

I got dressed and ou with the trolley, then realised I had not got my hat on, so nipped back for it. I returned to the lift lobby to find that two people were showing great interest in the contents of the three-wheeler-guide, I’d left in the lift lobby. No idea who they were. Mmm? I took the contents of the trolley, black rubbish bags to the waste chute as the man and woman disappeared down in the lift, and I followed them down and outside, to take my empty sauce bottles to the recycling bin. Well, someone has to put some non-alcoholic glass in the bin. It looked like I was the only one who had. Hehehe!

But I’m not jealous of those who can still afford to be alcoholics and drink heavily and are fit enough… Oh, no! No!

An absolutely fine morning out there. I took a photo of Winwood and Winchester Courts on the way to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress and catwalk Warden’s Temporary HQ. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationistical Meeting Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Where things like crockery and pottery get stolen from, Rumourmongering Clinic, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, Portakabin.

Where I enjoyed a chinwag with Obersturmführeress Warden Deana, and Sturmbannführeress Warden Julie, Angela, Doreen, Mary, Christine, Roy and Malcolm for a bit while we waited for the bus. I handed out all of the nibbles I had with me, bar two. I was content like I haven’t been for months.

More nattering on the bus to town was enjoyed. I got off on Upper Parliament Street and limped my way to Jessops camera store on Clumber Street.

The staff didn’t seem too interested in me, as I perused their ever pricier than ever selection of photographic equipment. Eventually, I asked a young lady for help, and she fetched a young man to tend to me. A waste of time, but I explained my physical difficulties and problems to him, and got back an instant, “Well if you want a higher shake camera or anything above 30x optical, you will get no better, in fact probably find it a more bothersome time trying to use it.

Then he spent a while explaining his reasoning. But, it left me behind. After my annoying him further by asking about various cameras, he sold me a 40x Canon Powershot SX740 HS camera.

Confused, and £349 lighter, I left the shop and out onto Clumber Street. I took a photo with the old Lumix both up and down the street. Well, I did all of the pictures on this page, bar the first one when I got home, from the unwanted and disliked kitchen window. I think they catch the spirit of the Nottinghamians. Many of them believed the weather forecast for strong sunshine and hot temperatures for this morning and wearing very little. Hehehe! Many of the Lumix efforts were either unusable due to the poor lighting in the photos, or they didn’t go on the SD card at all? The Lumix has got to go! At least the new camera is the same size as the Lumix, and a great deal weightier, so that might be a good thing… or not?

I meandered to Long Row, and strolled along limpingly to the Slab Square, the corner of Queen-King Street.

The Slab Square had some entertainments on it, but I did not have a lot of time to spare before the L9 home was due at the top of Queen Street.

So I took a few shots ad nauseum, no that’s not right! Ad-hoc? Unconcentratiously?  Without deliberating? Tsk!

My lethologica can be absolutely lethiferous to my self-confidence! Quickly, anyway. Ahem!

A last zoomed-in shot across the Council House towards Exchange Walk that didn’t come out half-bad, as it happens. It shows one of the famous Nottingham City Council House stone lions. Between 1927 and 1929, local man, Joseph Else was put in charge of all carvings on the new design for Nottingham Council House, including the lions, the frieze on the arch of the building and twenty-one other figures all displaying arts and public services. I just thought he ought to be remembered.

Then up to the bus stop. Where Shirley (I think that’s her name, it might be Elsie), from the flats, was waiting, and we had a natter while waiting for the late arriving bus, which soon caught up with the schedule, though.

I got in the apartment, and the wee-wees started. Amazingly none bothered me while I was out in town? Amazing!

I  took a photo with the new camera while there was some battery-life in it. I can’t say I was over impressed with the resulting.

I tried to set the date on it, don’t know if I got it right, yet, as the battery had to come out to go in the charger to be boosted?

I am not happy with the mechanics of this new machine. The buttons and switches were a lot fiddlier than the old Lumix are. It weighs an awful lot more, too. Although that might not be a bad thing? The SD card goes in differently. The other way around to all the cameras I’ve had before.

It took me half an hour to thread the hand cord through. And the battery has to come out for charging? Ah well, I might get used to it eventually.

Got the oven on to do some chips for the nosh.

The eyes too big again. I must stop making such massive meals! Feel-a-Fool Mode Engaged!

Tired out as I felt, sleep again denied me any rest. It took me hours to get to sleep. I tried the usual reading a book. Thinking of good things from my past (That was difficult, Haha!). Pulling the bob-cap over my eyes. Even put the TV on. But all in vain!
